Jesus' intense love for humanity is reflected in his compassion for the multitudes he encountered, who were severely damaged and demoralized by an enemy. He saw them as his own people, his own house, vandalized and ruined, and he felt a deep inner heart emotion to redirect their lives. Jesus is the answer to all this devastation, and he has been getting a harvest ready, preparing a people to reap it. He exhorts his disciples to pray for laborers to be sent into the harvest, and when we pray this way, we're asking God to thrust us into the harvest, to invest our lives in the cause that moved him.
