Paul's 18-month stay in Corinth was marked by spiritual battles, but he was encouraged by friends Aquila and Priscilla, and later by Timothy and Silas. The Jewish leaders tried to manipulate Roman justice against Paul, but Gallio, the new proconsul, had a hands-off policy, dismissing the charges. Meanwhile, Paul took a vow under Jewish law, a Nazarite vow, to open doors with Jewish people and share the gospel.
