Here's the producer, Hot Take Hickey. So week 13 in the NFL, we will get to my trip to Foxboro last night. Coming up later on in the show in a putrid offensive performance by the Patriots.

You know, people go, I can't wait to probably listen to Zach today to hear him just rip the Patriots. I guess you haven't been listening carefully enough because I've been saying this all throughout the year with this offense. With Matt Patricia calling the plays and no offensive weapons, I have no expectations. My expectations actually were for them to miss the playoffs. So sitting at 6 and 6 getting just embarrassed by a Buffalo Bills team that we all know is really damn good.

To me isn't shocking, but there is a much bigger conversation from that, from the Patriots side and the Bills side that we'll get to coming up in 20 minutes from now. But we're going to start the show this weekend. This is a huge weekend in the NFL.

Like sometimes you go into an NFL weekend and you hear the radio guy say, oh, it's a massive weekend of NFL football. And you go, the games stink. You go, there's some bad games.

These games aren't really anything that you need to write home about. But just these three games right out of the chute, Eagles and Tennessee, 49ers and the Dolphins, Bengals and the Chiefs. Let's go and start with the Bengals-Chief game first. This is a rematch of an AFC title game. This game being played in Cincinnati. We've seen these two teams play the last two years, the last year twice, and the Bengals have won both of them. When you look at pressure in this game, you could make a case that maybe there's more pressure on Cincinnati because they don't have their division locked up. I know the Chiefs haven't officially clinched, but they're going to win the AFC West. And the Bengals are trying to go kind of blow for blow with the Baltimore Ravens.

So there is probably more importance for the Cincinnati Bengals in this game. But I don't want that to be overshadowed where if you're Kansas City and this is a team that for the last three, four years at times has looked unstoppable and very tough to beat. And you look at just their last three postseasons, Super Bowl victory, loss in the Super Bowl, AFC title game loss. If you go down to the Cincinnati Bengals for the third time in the last three matchups, then you start to have that feeling of, OK, maybe a little kryptonite is born for the Kansas City Chiefs when you look at the Cincinnati Bengals. Because no one has been able to, in this short window, consistently beat Kansas City. There hasn't been that team.

Can Cincinnati be that team? But last year they beat them in the regular season late in the year on a game winning field goal and in the AFC title game, right at the end of the first half, when Patrick Mahomes kind of stumbled and hesitated and they got nothing out of it. And then the second half was never able to recover. Then in overtime, almost threw a pick and then did throw a pick. The Chiefs blew that game. And Cincinnati capitalized. Cincinnati again, when no one was picking them, beat Kansas City.

And they were able to take them down two times last year. There is some revenge here for the Kansas City Chiefs. Not that you really go into any regular season game for Kansas City and go, oh, this is a major game. Because you know that Kansas City, come playoff time, is going to be such a tough out and each and every year when you have Mahomes, you have Andy Reid, your season is going to be classified, fair or not, as Super Bowl or bus.

So there's very few games, not that they're not important, not that we don't talk about them, not that we don't highlight them. And we all know when Mahomes is in a big spot, we're all going to be watching. But there are very few games when you look at the Chiefs regular season where you feel like this is a major, major game. Earlier in the year when they went up against Buffalo, feeling of a major, major game. When it was week two, it was the Chargers. We felt like that was a big game.

But here's the crazy part about this. Usually when we say it's a big game for Kansas City, it's the other team has to prove something. Like the two games that I just mentioned. When they played the Chargers twice, it was can the Chargers beat the Chiefs? Can the Buffalo Bills beat the Chiefs? This time around, it's can the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals? So that is different when you look at the different levels in terms of the big games, let's just say, in the regular season for Kansas City. Usually it's who's chasing Kansas City. Now Kansas City has something to prove here because they lost the Cincinnati two times last year.

So those are my thoughts. Bengals and Chiefs, I think it's going to be an excellent game. I'm leaning the side of Kansas City right now. I know the Bengals are getting back, Jamar Chase under their offensive line played really well.

A week ago up against Tennessee, but I just can't in a big spot as much respect as I have for Joe Burrow. It's so tough to bet against the Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes, even though Cincinnati beat them once again twice last year. Next matchup, Eagles and Tennessee.

Who has more pressure on them in this game? I actually think it's Philadelphia. Philadelphia is in a tough division. We know the AFC, the Titans are going to win the AFC South.

I don't think anyone's thinking that they're going to be the number one overall seed. You have a phenomenal running back in Derrick Henry. You have a top five coach in Mike Vrabel.

You have a good defense. But the Achilles heel and the one big area of weakness for Tennessee is that Ryan Tannehill, he's an above average quarterback. But he's not a quarterback where you ever say in a big moment, a big spot that you think he's going to win the game when you need him to.

Now that doesn't mean he can't win regular season games. I'm talking more about the postseason. But in terms of this matchup, I think there's more pressure on Philadelphia because the NFC, it's really open. The 49ers, people keep talking about how great they are.

They got to prove that. You look at a team like Minnesota. Yeah, the record's nine and two, but they got blown out by Dallas and Philadelphia. You look at the Cowboys. They clearly survived without Dak Prescott and they made a big statement the last two weekends. But for Dallas, we were giving him praise last year, this time last year, and then Dallas crumbled down the stretch and come postseason time. We're not ready for the game up against Mike McCarthy, going up against the 49ers.

And at the end of the game, Dak Prescott couldn't snap the ball in the final 13 seconds. And then you get Philadelphia, who had, what, a two week stretch where they lost to the commanders, then looked like they were going to lose to the Colts and then came back and beat Indianapolis. And we saw what they just did to the Green Bay Packers. So if you're Philadelphia, you were viewed right now, in my opinion, as the top dog in the NFC. But that could move around because there's no one that you really love in the NFC this year. But you're a well-rounded football team. Sure, the run game has been a concern defensively. And you're going up against the creme de la creme back in the league in Derrick Henry.

So this is a big test. And you see that roster, though. A.J. Brown going up against Tennessee. You have Devante Smith. You know what Jalen Hurts has done this year. That offensive line in Philadelphia is really good. You got a defense. The only flaw is the rushing defense.

So the pressure to me in this one, it's not only on Philadelphia to maintain that number one overall seed, but it's also to try to give me a little extra confidence in terms of an area of weakness that is your rushing defense and could be your only flaw when you look at the Eagles. And then finally, you have the 49ers and Dolphins in Santa Clara. The Dolphins are expected to be without both their tackles.

And that's always a concern, especially with what we saw earlier in the year with Tua-Tunga Vailoa. But we know the Dolphins, if Tua gets the ball out quickly, he could go make big plays in the short passing game and turn them into long passes and long yardage off Yak because you have Tyreek Hill and you have Jalen Waddle. This game, don't get me wrong, the Dolphins have had a wonderful season. The Dolphins, I think, are playing really with house money because I don't think anyone's saying the Dolphins are going to the Super Bowl, but they have a team that could. It's not out of their own possibilities, but the focus is on teams like the Chiefs, the Chargers, if they can't make the playoffs.

You look at Buffalo, you look at Cincinnati, Baltimore. We just talk about those teams more than the Dolphins who have been really damn good this year. Tua, every game he started and finished, he's won.

He's 8-0. And he's defeated the Ravens. He's defeated the Buffalo Bills. So this could be another game where it's another feather in the cap for the Dolphins, but we've seen them play really good football this year. The 49ers, they're the team, based off their past, that everyone's telling me, oh, they're the most dangerous team in the NFC.

Oh, they're a great team. And you look at their roster, it's tough to argue when you have Bosa, when you have McCaffrey, when you have Debo. But with that being said, I have not seen a great victory yet in terms of opponent and the way that they've played from the 49ers this year. And now you're going up against your toughest test this year, I would say, in the Miami Dolphins up to this point. And I just want to see if the 49ers are the team that everyone keeps on saying they are and everyone thinks they're going to be, or if this is another week where after this week we all say on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday, hey, the 49ers, if they could get things going, they're going to be real dangerous.

Well, instead of saying if they could get things going and if they could be consistent, start to show that this week up against the Dolphins. I look at that game, though, and I know that the offensive line concerns are major for Miami, and that does scare me. Like, I was really confident all throughout the week that the Dolphins were going to win the game.

Now, as we sit here on a football Friday, that takes a little bit of a hit just because of the way that they're probably going to be without both their tackles. I look at Miami and it's just tough to doubt them, and I doubted them before the start of the season. But with how consistent they've been and the 49ers have been a team that is talked about but hasn't really showed me how great they could be yet, I kind of trust Miami in this game. So when I look at this weekend and we hit those three mega, mega games of Philadelphia and Tennessee, San Francisco, Miami, Bengals and Chiefs, who's the team out of those six teams that has the most to prove this weekend? And I think it's the 49ers. And I know you can tell me how the 49ers have been to a Super Bowl, they've been to an NFC title game, but each year it's different. And for the 49ers, you have a wide open NFC. Teams like the Eagles, the Cowboys, the Vikings. You know, when you look around it and you evaluate those teams, and then there's you.

And you have the experience. You have a well-rounded roster. But what are your wins this year? You beat a Cardinals team? Is that supposed to get me going crazy? You beat the Rams twice?

Is that supposed to get me going crazy? You rather beat those teams than lose to those teams. But now you have a wonderful opponent in Miami, and I want to see if the 49ers will go and win this game at home in Santa Clara. Hickey, when you look at these six teams, Eagles, Titans, 49ers, Dolphins, Bengals, Chiefs, who do you think has the most to prove this weekend? In a slate of just those three games, which are big, big, big games, and it's going to make up what we think is going to be a wonderful week 13 in the National Football League. I will stick the same game you just talked about, but I'll go with the Dolphins.

Really? Their schedule the last month or so has been pretty soft, and I know early in the year it was they beat the Bills, they beat the Ravens. I just feel from a national perspective, a lot of people forget about that. And if they lose this game on the road to San Francisco, even when they are being banged up, I just feel like there would be a narrative coming out about all the Dolphins kind of fun story. But now when you go against the elite top teams, they can't really hang with the big boys. They play the Bills also kind of pursuing here, so it's a big stretch for them. And they can at least beat the 49ers. I feel like they kind of sent a message on the road, especially to the rest of the NFL, that they're kind of here to say they're legit. And if they lose to the Bills in a few weeks after that, okay fine Belize. I feel like it's almost they have to just kind of send another reminder because the benefit of the doubt is not there for them yet.

This would be a great test for them and a great opportunity to do so. Yeah, everyone really has something to prove with those six teams to a different level of degree. But for me, just because the Dolphins have already showed me a lot this year, I hear what you're saying. I just look at the 49ers, out of all those teams, I haven't really seen the 49ers beat this great opponent this year for a team that you think can go potentially win a Super Bowl. And I just got to start seeing it because when you say that, and I totally get what you're saying, but you've been someone that said, oh the 49ers are really dangerous, they're really dangerous.

Does it all concern you a little bit? And maybe not because of how open it's perceived to be, but they haven't shown you really anything this year against a great opponent. Like, don't you want to see more from the 49ers?

Yes, well the one thing I will say is their schedule is not exactly allowed for them to play some elite teams and be tested. Okay, but fair, but like the game against the Chargers, they won the game. They had to come from behind against a Chargers team that was missing both their tackles, where without Mike Williams, without Keenan Allen, we're down to three defensive linemen. You look at this Dolphins team, this Dolphins team has a lot of talent, we know that, no crap sack.

But they're going to be without their two offensive linemen. This could show me growth in the 49ers. Is this the same thing against a Chargers where you win the game, but you kind of limp to the finish line and you go, oh if Miami was healthy up front, they would have beat you?

Or is this a game that you just kick their ass and you're a superior football team? Like, I'm waiting to see how everyone talks about the 49ers, the superior force, this great force. I'm just waiting to see it to come to fruition this year, and so far, I have not seen that great 49ers team. I guess for me with how last year went and they went deep into the playoffs, really kind of for three quarters of the year kind of coasting. I don't really, for me, need to see a lot of them in the regular season, just because it's like they got in the last week of the year and then went to the NFC Tyler game. So it's like, for them, it's like they have the talent, they've already shown you they can win games in the playoffs, going to the Super Bowl a few years ago in the NFC Tyler game last year. I guess I'll need to see them with a, you know, a marquee win now in the regular season to have confidence, composure, and talent.

By the way, you want to know why the Dolphins have changed? Their next three weeks, we're talking about big game this weekend, the 49ers. Weekend after that, they play the Chargers.

That's a fun game. Sunday Night Football. Chua Herbert, especially with all those connections in the draft, and then you get Dolphins bills.

Big stretch. If you're a Dolphins fan, there's three weeks right there in December where you're going to be front and center, and everyone's going to be talking about you, and you're going to be in the top three games of each and every week just with those three opponents. This is, you're right, it is a big three-week stretch here for the Miami Dolphins, and what would you kind of expect them to do here? They're on the road in LA, right? Yes. Next Sunday, so three road games in a row?

Yes, hold on. It's the Chargers. I get it.

I get it. SoFi Stadium, there's not a lot of Chargers fans there. You're right. It would probably be a home game for Miami either way, but... But now they're going to Buffalo, okay? I think one and two would be acceptable.

Oh. I don't think they're going to beat the Bills in Buffalo. As long as they just don't get blown out.

And you split in the California trips? Like if those two losses are getting blown out, mmm. I wonder if they're going to stay. It's tough for me to think they're going to beat Buffalo twice in a season, right? You would think it's tough. Actually, a warm weather team going to a cold weather city, it's tough to win those games. If I'm a Dolphins fan, and I don't think I'm losing my mind if they're one and two, but it does bring you back down to reality a little bit, I'm expected to beat the 49ers this weekend. I'm expected to beat the Chargers next weekend. And then if you win both those games, then imagine that Buffalo game against the Bills. They got a lot of pressure on Buffalo because then you could lose the AFC East if you go down to them a few weeks from now. This is the Zach Gelb Show on CBS Sports Radio. You're offended? Yes, I am offended with the offensive performance that I had to watch in Foxboro last night. And you know what?

It's not just the performance. I'm offended in how stupid Bill Belichick thinks I am. That's why I'm offended. And I love Bill Belichick. But before the year, every single person knew that having Matt Patricia with that stupid pencil resting on his ear, being the offensive coordinator for this football team was stupid.

We all knew that. And you have no wide receivers that are number one wide receiver. Look at what the Eagles are doing. They have offensive minds on the offensive side of the ball. Crazy concept. They have A.J.

Brown. They have Devante Smith. Jalen Hurts looks like the MVP of the league. You see the Miami Dolphins last year too couldn't throw the football. He got clowned. They bring in Mike McDaniel.

Holy crap. An offensive mind on the offensive side of the ball. You had Jalen Waddle. You had Tyreke Hill. I would take both those teams number two wide receivers. Give me Jalen Waddle. Give me Devante Smith.

They'd be better than Devante Parker or Nelson Aguilar. And I'm not telling you Mac Jones is this great quarterback, but I can't tell you that he isn't good. I can't tell you he stinks. Yes, his vision has not been good this year. He's made some dumb decisions. But if you were playing behind that offensive line with Matt Patricia doing the coaching and no number one wide receivers. Yeah, I'd probably have some bad decisions as well.

And I just want to know if Mac can be the guy. Last year he showed me signs when he had an offensive mind in Josh McDaniel's. Maybe helped out not having these great weapons. But when you don't have great weapons and you have that bozo and that Patricia calling the plays. I can't sit here and crush the quarterback.

I can't tell you the quarterback sucks because the quarterback is not being put in a position to succeed. So those are my thoughts on the game last night. All right. Have at it, Hickey. You know, you can have your fun. I made the trip. I took off from work.

We only get a certain amount of off days or else you lose them before the start of the new year. So I said, you know what? I'm going to try to be a regular person last night. I went to the game, tailgated, wings awesome, meatballs awesome. Pork, awesome. Pizza, awesome.

Booze, awesome. I got there at 3.45 p.m. in the afternoon. And then I walk into the stadium and the moment right before the end of the half that they couldn't get a touchdown. And they had to settle for a field goal. Oh, wait, they missed a field goal. I said, turn out the lights.

The party's over. But I'm a real fan. So I stayed until the final whistle. But, man, that was a disaster on Thursday Night Football. And I thought it was going to be a close game that the Patriots are going to lose. And shame on me for thinking that was going to be a close game. You know what I say to you? Welcome. No sympathy from me. Don't feel bad that you were out in the cold yesterday spending money, spending time in the car, getting a long ride there, a long ride back. Welcome to the NFL.

Where for two decades you lived the life that everyone in this world wants to live. You want to know why you're not alike? And this is the first time in my life I'm going to sound like a Yankee fan and I'll probably hate myself for doing so. I got rings. I got six of them. Hold them tight because guess what? Doesn't look like you'll be getting another one anytime soon. Number seven ain't coming anytime soon. But here's the difference between you and I.

Hold on to those. Here's the difference between you and I. Rings and then me being realistic. I didn't go into the year jumping up and down like a fat kid in a candy store about my football team like you did. Though they're going to win the division. You picked them also to win the division. So shame on you.

Shame on me. Shame on everyone for believing in the Colts that were a popular AFC South pick. But as of like three weeks ago, you still thought your team was going to be good. Well, they were better than their record. I'll say that a few weeks ago. They just trashed my team.

You better start trashing yours. Your frustration with the offense, you watching an incompetent offensive coordinator, you questioning the head coach, getting frustrated with your young quarterback. Again, it's the life of basically everyone else in the NFL.

I'm jealous for the two decades you had. But Tom Brady ain't coming through that door anytime soon. Well, you don't know.

And if he does, he won't, you know. I saw my pal Fitzy who does a great job in the stadium. You know, he's on the Jumbotron firing up the fans or trying to create some energy.

He works for WEI. And I said to Fitzy, you down for Brady to come back? You see that Jeff Howe report? And Fitzy said, yeah, I'm all in. Bring Tom back. Wow. Tommy Brady may be coming home.

The one page replace. Well, like you mentioned, a lot has to change because that offense stinks. The personnel.

It's amazing how they're six and six. Like you look at the talent on a team. It is not good. They have a good defense. Not a great defense. A good defense. But offensively, they got nothing. Their best receiver is Jacoby Myers.

Ramondre Stevenson's a really good back. Their line's been bad. The wide receivers have been bad.

This team, you know what? It's because of the Jets. If they played the Jets every week, they'd be great.

But unfortunately, they don't play the Jets each and every week. This is a bad football team. Do you agree with that? Disagree with that?

No, I agree. I was just more trying to think, who's their signature win? And I really can't think of one. The Jets?

Jeez. Twice. The stinking Jets! There you go. Hey, at least you got a possible two-way. Maybe the next Deion Sanders two-way player in Marcus Jones. I have something for you.

That's really what we're doing here. It's a nice touchdown run he had. I mean, not good that a defensive back is your leading receiver in the game. The Patriots wins this year. And his only touchdown.

They beat the Steelers. Okay, with Kenny Pickett. And with Mitch Ibischi. Excuse me.

Yeah, that is true. Your guy. Drew Buskey. Get it right. They beat the Lions 29-0. It's a good win. I was hyping up the Lions offense.

That did not look too well. They were happy for Zappi crushing the Browns 38-15. That's right. And they beat the Jets twice. Oh yeah, and then your pathetic football team.

Yes, with Sam Ellinger. 26-3. And they scored three points and had negative yards, I think. That's actually their best one of the year. The Colts. 26-3. That tells you how bad of a football team you are.

It's my favorite one of the year. That is a bad team. Because it came at the expense of your team. That was Frank Reich's final game. That was an ugly one. Boy, oh boy.

I'm glad you had that moment. You know, when we raise a banner this year, because we're going to channel your team. When we raise a banner, when we don't actually win things, it's going to be 2022 Patriot football. They got Frank Reich fired. Beat Sam Ellinger and got Frank Reich fired.

8-5-5, 2-1-2-4, CBS. Let's go to Gary in Jacksonville. First up on the Zach Gelb show. Gary, what do you got? Hey, Zach. Good to talk to you again. And to answer your producer's question, yes, the Dolphins are staying on the West Coast. They actually petitioned the league so that they could play those games back to back so they could do that.

Okay. But very excited, you know. Zach, you were touching on it. The Dolphins haven't had that speed together since the Marx Brothers. They've been so strong to watch.

Two is playing at a confident high level. I think even without Tron Armstead playing, they're going to win because, as you said, he gets the ball out quickly. Those guys, Tyreek Hill and Walla, can turn a 15-yard pass into a 35-yard game. They're going to force a couple of turnovers from Garoppolo.

They're going to fumble an interception or a couple interceptions. Well, that's a big thing, Gary. David Howard is back up again.

He was playing with a bad groin for a few weeks there. And I feel good that the five-game winning streak is going to continue. Well, you should feel good. Right now, if you're a Dolphins fan, this is the best your football team has been in a very long time.

So, you should feel good. And I think he hit the nail right on the head there, Gary, in Jacksonville, in terms of you feel great at the quarterback position. Now, I got to give credit to Chris Greer and McDaniel for the roster they constructed and the good coaching that McDaniel has done with Tua. And you brought in last year, Jalen Walla. You're bringing this year, Tyreek Hill. You put your quarterback in a position to succeed.

We all know that. But also, if you look at it from a Dolphins side, just for this game, even with the offensive line concerns, who's the better quarterback? Tua or Jimmy G?

I know Jimmy G has won a ton of games in this league, but I think there's a lot more upside, and I think Tua is the better quarterback. Let's take one more before the break. Rich in Chicago, next up on the Zach Gelb show.

Rich, what's happening? Hey, real quick, I know you're up against it. The teams, you're a producer, Ryan. Big test. I think that's a big problem. I think the Bengals going three in a row if they upset the Chiefs is going to really put some doubt in the Chiefs fans' minds. And despite the last caller, I think the Dolphins will get smoked. I think you were talking about Tua's going to have to play against the best D he's seen without a couple of offensive tackles. They're in trouble on that one.

But what I wanted to point out, I did find a correlation that I think you ought to look at, especially for gambling interest, which I thought was really unique. Teams that have running quarterbacks that are in the top five of the NFL with one exception, and that would be our boy here in Chicago, Fields. He's a leader. But outside of Fields, the two, three, four, and five guy, Jackson Allen, Hertz, and believe it or not, Jones from the Giants are four of the top five rushers, and they all have winning records. Now look at the bottom feeders. The bottom feeders, the worst team that does not have a mobile quarterback, and they're ranked so low. It's unbelievable. Are the Packers with Rogers.

He's horrible. The Colts, who Ryan ain't going to want to hear about. They don't have a quarterback.

They don't have a runner, period, that quarterback. And if you take a look at all the guys, you got Brady. How about Brady?

A comparison. He's 32nd as a rushing quarterback. Fields has 851 yards. Brady's got minus six for the season.

Yeah, but here's the thing, Rich, and I appreciate the phone call. Brady hasn't been a runner for 20 years. The guy's won six Super Bowls. Seven Super Bowls, excuse me.

Six in New England and one in Tampa Bay. The rushing quarterback now, or the mobile quarterback, let me say, has obviously been very effective. But you wonder the longevity. Now Mahomes isn't going anywhere. Allen doesn't look like he's going anywhere. But you do wonder about the longevity, and if they go have a 20-year career.

But if you take care of business and win Super Bowls, God bless you. But is there still a place for a traditional pocket passing quarterback in this league? Absolutely.

A thousand percent. You're telling me that if there's another Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, you wouldn't want them because they can't run the football? But yeah, you see the teams now. There's been Jalen Hurts. You know, you've seen Tua this year. You've seen Mahomes, Allen. You need a little mobility.
