Hey, it's Kenny Main, this is a promotion of Hey Main, the Kenny Main Talks to Famous People podcast. We got lots of famous people, Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann. We got to weigh 99% of what we tried to do.

I'm mad at him because I know that he'll regret it, but I know that he has to leave. Sue Bird is involved, Rex Chapman, Dan Lebatard, Katie Nolan, Allison Becker, sorry for all the others I interviewed who I left out. Oh yeah, Soledad O'Brien, she was good. We got to weigh 99% of what we tried to do.

Oh yeah, Soledad O'Brien, she was good. Get it on the Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. Oh Russ, what are we doing? We are coming to you live from the Rocket Mortgage Studios. Whether you're looking to purchase a new home or refinance yours, Rocket Mortgage can help you get there for home loan solutions that fit your life.

Well, Rocket can. Hickey, these days, first word you think of when you hear the name Russell Wilson. What's the first word? At this point, cringe-worthy. Man, that was my word too. It's cringe-worthy, pathetic. That could also be one, insufferable. Those are the words that I think of about the great Russell Wilson.

Pathetic, cringe-worthy, insufferable. And I thought it couldn't get any worse for Russell Wilson. Yeah, he's been awful on the field. He's hurt, shoulder, hamstring, but even before that, he was just playing miserable football, losing games, Broncos country.

Let's ride. It just all stick with him. And he's trying to be someone that he's not. Like another word I would use is poser. He's trying to be the superstar.

He's trying to be Mr. Hollywood on all the magazines, dominating social media. That's all fine. You want to be that?

That's fine. But don't tell me your focus is on being the best quarterback possible. Because when you're trying to be the best quarterback that there is, you got to be a leader. You have to demand the respect of that locker room. And there's no way that right now, anyone in that Broncos locker room is like, yeah, Broncos country, let's ride. Let's do it for Russ. This guy's really inspiring us. He's making us want to run through a wall.

No, they're all pointing the finger and laughing at him. I've never seen an athlete this quickly go from being so popular, so good, so well-respected to just being the punchline of every joke. The awful Broncos country, let's ride saying, the terrible TikTok dance, the weird Subway sandwich commercials, which now they canceled the Subway sandwich because it got so much backlash and people just making fun of whatever that danger, which sandwich was.

And now the latest is today. They were on a plane going to London as you have Broncos Jaguars this weekend. And this is Russell Wilson on what he said he did during his trip to London. I don't really get jet lag too often. I don't really, I've traveled enough to kind of get my system down. But yeah, for me, I was on the plane the first two hours. I was, first two hours, what was it, eight hours flight here? That's the first two hours I was watching the film, watching all the cutups and everything else. And then for the next four hours, I was doing treatment on the plane. I was walking up and down the aisles. Everybody was knocked out. I was doing high knees and working on my legs and everything else, making sure I'm ready to rock. So that was good.

And then the last two hours, the last hour of that, I fell asleep for one hour and I watched the film the rest. He's doing high knees during this eight hour flight. So he's ready to rock. I thought, Russ, you had that Wolverine blood in you. Why do you got to do the high knees?

First off, I don't buy that for a second. Maybe one time down the plane, like one trip, you want to stretch your legs a little bit, but for how long he made it seem as if he was really exercising on the plane, this dude is just such a blowhard. Like he's he's he is just trying to be someone that he isn't. And it's a shame because I used to always really like Russell Wilson. But now I'm rooting against him. I want to see the Broncos be horrible. I want to see Russell Wilson just continue to be inept on a football field this year.

He makes them so obnoxious. Hickey, you were Mr. Bronco. You were Mr. Bronco's country.

Let's ride. Russell Wilson, you said was going to win the MVP this year. Russell Wilson, you said this year was going to win the Super Bowl. You said Nathaniel Hackett was going to be a top three coach of the year. I know you're frustrated with their with their play because those predictions are end up going to be wrong. And you wanted your predictions to be right before the year.

But it happens. We all make wrong predictions. Are you starting to just say with Ross? Yeah, I'm just going to take the L on this one and not care what he does for the rest of his career. I mean, the tough part is like we were talking about and Roger start the show.

And Roger sounds like a bad dude. Russell will like he's cringing. He's fake. I really hope I'm hoping he's not fake. Wait, wait, wait. You don't understand yet how he's fake.

No, no, no, no. I get why everyone would say it bikers gear for a sandwich commercial. Like you don't look and say how much he is concerned about his image.

Yeah, that's not the best look right now for me. I know it's money. I know it's a commercial all that, but you don't need the extra money.

You just got 240 something million dollars. I wouldn't call it fake. I would say lack of self-awareness. Like the Mr.

Unlimited BS. Yeah, how about that? That like, but that like doesn't sound like that's who he is. I think that's just kind of who he is. It's like cringe worthy.

And there's just no self-awareness that he has to think like be this guy that he's not though. This was theirs. Was this Russell Wilson seven years ago?

Now. Well, now he's I think he's now he's more confident who he is. Like when he came in to the league, it was the Legion of Boom.

It was Richard Sherman. Like that defense. And now when it's kind of his team, he was able to spread his like, I think just be more comfortable in who he is.

Is it more comfortable? Just insecurities because when he was originally there Legion of Boom, the reason they won the Super Bowl, more Sean, the reason why they won the Super Bowl, Pete Carroll. And then we all know what happened the next year after winning a Super Bowl. They throw the pick at the goal line. Like I used to think that the former Seattle Seahawks players were obnoxious.

That would use the clown Ross. Now we're all seeing it though. Because you may be right in saying this to this guy is, but to his core, this is not really who he is. We've seen a total transformation throughout the years. Like what are you doing after a loss? Get in front of the podium and say in Broncos country. Let's ride. Lack of self-awareness carry the horrible. He is weird man.

Russell Wilson. Absolutely. Absolutely. And you can, I'm not saying you're defending it or saying that he's good leader. I think that's part of the issue, but he can't read a room. He can't really see how it's coming off and it's a turn off. I would say to teammates when you are that self-aware or in terms of you are so concerned about yourself is the better way.

I should say you got to know what people are saying about you. Russell Wilson comes off to me and I know with how many followers, he can't see everything, but that is definitely a guy that constantly is opening up his phone, going to Twitter, looking at his mentions on Instagram, scrolling through, looking at the comments. He cares so much about what people think about him that he has ruined his image. Trying to be a superstar where if you remember he went on the Dan Patrick show and why did he throw out four teams? Why did he say, why was he not happy? Why was he fed up? Because he said in the Dan Patrick show, he wants to go down as one of the all time great quarterbacks.

This guy lost the focus. He lost his way in terms of focusing on being the guy. Now you could be the guy and also be a stud off the field. We've seen that numerous times, but it seems to me as if he cares more about the off the field persona than the on the field persona, or maybe just if you don't agree with that, his off the field persona is impacting the on the field persona at the bare minimum because you think these guys, like if we did an anonymous survey with the Broncos players right now, let's say we took like 30 Broncos players. Do you believe in Russell Wilson? Maybe like five say they believe in Russell Wilson. Yeah, at least we believe in him because he's not Drew Locke.

At least we believe in him because he's not Teddy Bridgewater, but you haven't seen other than just his name and who he is and what he's done in this league benefit and behoove the Broncos in any way. The Broncos were a team at this off season. They were going to send.

They were going to climb that they were going to be building this year. Now they look lost. You know that Daniel Hackett is a dead man walking. No one has confidence right now in Russell Wilson.

And he's what, 32, 33 years old. And the other thing is if you're playing a locker room and you see Jerry Judy, you could tell he's not happy. KJ Hamler after the game throwing down the helmet because Russ didn't even see him. If you're in that locker room, it's how does this guy bring us together during the tough times?

How does your leader find a way to fight through adversity to prevent the ship from sinking and just keeping this situation salvageable? And so far, Russell Wilson now since he's been able to fly on his own and now he doesn't have Pete Carroll there. He doesn't have the Seahawks there anymore.

He is in Denver and this is his organization. This is his team. He is the guy. He is the man. This is what he wanted to be. He's showing that he can't lead.

He can't guide. And when there's tough times, he doesn't have an answer how to prevent, I don't even want to say the ship from sinking because it's already sunk, but he just can't even find a way not to make them a national laughingstock. Like this is wild to me, Ryan. And I don't know if I've ever seen this in my lifetime with someone that hasn't done anything malicious or criminal off the field where a guy has totally just ruined his brand in less than a year. But the brand of Russell Wilson right now, it's in the in the gutter. And I wonder how we're going to talk about Russ three, four or five years from now because we had a Hall of Fame conversation last hour. If I would just if I were to say to you before this trade happened, like when you knew a deal was going to go down right when the trade happened, is Russell Wilson going to be a Hall of Famer one day?

Your answer would have been yes. If I ask you that question now, I would have to say I don't know because you got to remember there's been a lot of guys and Russell Wilson has been a nine time pro baller. Russell Wilson, even though he's never got an MVP vote, he was pretty much looking like a lot to be a Hall of Famer. And sometimes if a guy has a bad five, six years to end his career, it could ruin his Hall of Fame chance.

Like right now, I can't say that he's a lot to make the Hall of Fame because if the next five years, he's never able to steer the ship in the right direction, it could really stain and ruin the image and the legacy of Russell Wilson. And I would hope that this offseason because this year is a lost cause. There's no way you're bouncing back. You have an incompetent coach. You're banged up. You're not playing well.

The roster doesn't believe in you. The real image of Russell Wilson is going to be defined what he does next year because this is the same old crap next year. And you see the same thing where he hasn't learned and adapt. I just wonder where we're going to be talking about this guy five years from now when it comes to that Hall of Fame conversation.

It's not going to be pretty. And then you wonder, you know, you mentioned before how, you know, or why the tightest turn so quick on Russell Wilson. It's partly mostly it's on him. Like when you talk the talk and don't walk the walk, you deserve all the criticism.

You talk about your time in Seattle, that's frustrating. You talk about not running the offense. You want to not get in the players. You want an offense.

And then you have forced your way out. Well, now it's on you. And when you can't back up when it's your team, you can't back up the talk. All the criticism range your way.

It's kind of like Kyle Murray too. When you're forced in this case a contract and your plays and back it up, all the criticism, all the positivity quickly shifts because you got your way. Now it's like, what else do you need? You got to perform and it's right now blown up in their face. How did he fix it?

How does he fix it? I think it's bringing a head coach that's a stern leader. I think that's the only hope. I have two names right at the top of my head. One clearly Sean Payton. If I'm Sean, I'm not touching this job. We had that conversation yesterday. You know who's the leader?

Demico Ryan's. And I know he's not an offensive mind, but you could at least bring a calm presence to that locker room. You could at least bring a respected voice. And Demico Ryan's has done a very good job with the 49ers. He's deserving a head coach.

I know there's an experience. I know he's never been a head coach before, but when I just threw out that name and I knew I was going to say no to Sean Payton because I don't think Sean's take that job. Demico Ryan's is a name that just popped into my brain. Now you have to bring in a really strong offensive coordinator.

That could though be part of the cell. Ross, we're going to let you basically be at the Facto offensive coordinator, but I'm going to take care of everything in the locker room right now. My concern hesitation with that is basically, aren't you just kind of doing the same thing over and over again? Like they may basically like Nathaniel Hackett's head coach in title. No, here's why. He's, Russ is the offensive coordinator.

Here's why though. Nathaniel Hackett doesn't have any leadership. You hear that guy speak. He doesn't seem to me as someone that could be a leader of men. When you're in the head honcho seat, Demico Ryan's is a leader of men.

He was a, he was practically a coach when he was playing, when he was a linebacker in the NFL. So who would be your name? I don't have one yet. I got to think like long and hard. I don't know. I can't give you a name right now. I'm sorry.

Gotcha. But I think it's, it's one of those where I don't know if I'd go the first time. Hey coach, I don't know if I'd do that twice in a row. Well, is there an experienced guy out there? Like are you bringing in?

I'm trying to think of an experienced guy out there. Like I don't think they're bringing in Jim Caldwell. I don't know if I'd hire Bill of Ryan.

I would consider it. I got to think of some other names. You need an alpha to basically tell Ross what to do. He is given, he's been given the leash. He's been given the freedom.

He's been off the leash basically. Bill O'Brien has made the playoffs a bunch of times, but Bill O'Brien had an ugly, ugly ending in the NFL. And that's a move you want to talk about perception. And I know it's not all about winning the press conference, but he would get clowned right off the bat. If you bring in Bill O'Brien with how that ended with the Houston Titans. I think I can coach offense. He got fired because he can't be a GM to save his life.

You know, I can't make that mistake again, but there's no doubt about it. I think I can coach offense. He's a good offensive line.

He is. But when that organization is in such bad of a spot, that's a clown type of movie, even though his resume is better than what it suggests because of the ending with the Houston Texans. And does winning the press conference even matter? They won the off season. They got Russell Wilson. Nathaniel Hackett was fired up, and that blew up in their face.

For them it does, because now you already had a year of it just being awful and everyone just joking you and no one taking you seriously. Yeah, if you win a press conference, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to turn around, but you can't give any ammunition where it just adds more fuel to the fire. And the guy like Bill O'Brien does that. And honestly, I can't trust Bill O'Brien in the NFL right now as a head coach, because who knows when he wants to usurp the next guy like what he did in Houston.

That's a big time concern. I can't say Bill O'Brien. If you want to win February 15th, go for it.

I'd rather win September 10th. Instead of Bill O'Brien, and I think Bill O'Brien to me is a no go for this situation. Now it's a legit concern in terms of this guy had a bad relationship with his old quarterback. What about Brian Flores? That's a guy that found a way to win more games in Miami than anyone could have thought. If you allow Russ to be that offensive kind of coordinator and hack it as an offensive mind, and that's where he made his money in this league, to set him up into this position, we know that defense is really good in Denver. If you have Flores and then you pair him with the right offensive coordinator, I think Flores would be extremely attractive.

I would agree. My only concern is that he is 0-4-5 when it comes to hiring overseas. He had four offensive coordinators. And at one time two co-offense coordinators, which is a disaster. I guess if you either pick his OC or he gives you one that is actually a winner for the first time, that's a guy that, again, he commands the room and he can control the entire team, whereas right now it's a free-for-all.

Everyone in that organization is running around like a chicken with a head cut off. I'll tell you four names that will also be attractive this offseason, just four names in terms of current coordinators. I will guarantee you that Ken Dorsey will be an attractive name. Leslie Frazier will be an attractive name. Mike Kafka will be an attractive name as well. I think those are three guys, all with ties to the Buffalo. Now Kafka is with Dayball in New York, and we know Frazier and Dorsey are currently with the Bills. I think a lot of guys are going to try to recreate that Buffalo away, and I could see Kafka getting a job this offseason because of the immediate success that we've seen through the first seven games with Brian Dayball. And I don't know how this guy would be as a head coach, but it's an offensive mind that if the Eagles continue to be this good, you know that someone's bound to get a job for that organization. It would not surprise me if Shane Steichen is a NFL head coach next year when you just follow the trends in the NFL. It is Zach Gelb's show on CBS Sports Radio.

We will take a time out of coming back after these short messages with a little take five, my top five teams in the NFL in college football. Hey, it's Kenny Main. This is a promotion of Hey Main, the Kenny Main Talks to Famous People podcast. We got lots of famous people, Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann. We got away with 99% of what we tried to do.

I'm mad at him because I know that he'll regret it, but I know that he has to leave. Sue Bird is involved, Rex Chapman, Dan Lebatard, Katie Nolan, Allison Becker. Sorry for all the others I interviewed who I left out. Oh yeah, Soledad O'Brien.

She was good. Get it on the Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. Throughout the 60s and 70s, cops hunted down key figures of the Dixie Mafia, including its enigmatic ringleader, Kirksey Nix. I'm interested in making money.

I'm not interested in hurting people. Fifteen years into Kirksey's life sentence, the Dixie Mafia was practically folklore, but that would soon change. I'm Jed Lipinski. This is Gone South, a documentary podcast from C13 Originals, a Cadence 13 studio. Season 2, the Dixie Mafia.

Available now on the Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts.

Sue Bird is involved, Rex Chapman, Dan Levittard, Katie Nolan, Allison Becker. Sorry for all the others I interviewed who I left out. Oh yeah, Soledad O'Brien. She was good.

Get it on the Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. Sorry, I'll start things off in the NFL. In at number 5, the New York Giants, they are 6-1. Do they have the talent of a 6-1 team?

No, but they just keep on finding a way to win games. I know it was against the Jaguars, not super duper impressive, but I thought there was a chance the Jaguars are going to win that game going in. So for the Giants to be 6-1, Daniel Jones playing good.

Saquon Barkley is looking like the comeback player of the year. That defense making timely stops. And Brian Dayball being coach of the year, I put big blue in at number 5. Number 4, this team was off. They are 5-1.

You could question who they played on their schedule, but 5-1 is 5-1. And their defense has been serviceable, led by Zadaria Smith. That addition has really done wonders for that defensive side of the ball. But offensively, this is Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen, KJ Osborne, et cetera, et cetera. This is an offensive line to the team. The new coach, Kevin O'Connell, just made them feel some at ease, I guess you could say. Not as tense as the old coach in Mike Zimmer.

It's been a refreshing voice. I put the Vikings in at 4. Kansas City Chiefs sitting in at number 3. They annihilated the 49ers. They had a fugazi loss to the Indianapolis Colts. And we know that game against Buffalo was back and forth, but they are, to me, the third best team in the NFL because of number 15, Patrick Mahomes. And at number 2, a team that just keeps on getting better and better. That's the Eagles.

They have not lost yet. I know they did not play last week, but this is a Philadelphia team that they were able to go get Robert Quinn today. This Eagles team, there's not a flaw really with them. Maybe they need another running back on the roster to compliment Miles Sanders and they could get that by the trade deadline. But Jalen Hurts is playing like a stud.

You have A.J. Brown, Devontae Smith, Dallas Goddard. Defensively, now you add Robert Quinn to a defensive line and a front seven that has Jordan Davis, Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Asan Redick, and the back end of that secondary. You got Darius Slay, James Bradbury, C.J.

Gardner-Johnson. That's the second best team in football. And you could make a case there, number one, but I think the most well-rounded team in the league are the Buffalo Bills. Their one loss did come to Miami where a game that they want everything but on the scoreboard. When you look at the statistics of that game, I'm just not going to be picking against Josh Allen. That defense is really good.

They got even better. You saw Von Miller get off the field up against Kansas City and you found a way to force that interception to Taran Johnson. Bills coming off the bye week. I think they're going to roll the Green Bay Packers this week at Orchard Park. So the Bills are my number one team.

So my top five this week. Giants, five Vikings, four Chiefs, three Eagles, two Bills, one. I don't believe any changes from last week with the NFL, but I'll take Hickey speak now forever. Hold your piece. What about a team that beat the Giants getting their only loss to Dallas Cowboys?

It is fair. I just want to see what this team's going to be with Dak Prescott. I know you could say, well, they survive with Cooper Rush. What makes you think they're going to regress with Dak Prescott?

I'm not saying that. I wasn't overly impressed with the offense, though. Last week up against the lowly Detroit Lions, it felt like that game was more of a game than what it actually needed to be before the final score ended up being 24 to six. That defense is great. I just need to see a little bit more out of the offense before I put them in the top five.

What about the other team that resides in New Jersey, the New York Jets? Injuries are a concern to me. They're off to a heck of a start at five and two.

They found a way to beat the Broncos last week, which really isn't saying much, but it's that offense. Zach Wilson, he's got to start showing me more. Now you have Breece Hall out for the year. They added James Robinson, which was a wonderful move by Joe Douglas, Elijah Vera Tucker, who's really good in his second year.

Now he's done for the year as well. So injuries and then not knowing what Zach Wilson is yet, even with the Jets being five and two is the reason why I have the Jets on the outside looking in. Should we get to college football?

Let's do it. This could be the hottest team in the nation. They're starting things off at number five for their first time this year. Sonny Dyches' TCU squad, the Horned Frogs, are in the top five. Duggan didn't start the year. Then game two got in because of an injury.

He's been one of the better quarterbacks in the country. And the last four weeks, they beat Oklahoma 55 to 24. They were ranked 18th at the time. They beat Kansas. Kansas at the time is ranked 19, 38 to 31. They come back against Oklahoma State who at the time was ranked eighth and they beat them 43 to 40 in double overtime. And last week against a good Kansas State team led by Chris Kliman, they beat K State by 10 points at the time Kansas State was ranked 17. To not lose one of those games against four top 25 teams back to back to back to back weeks, that puts the TCU Horned Frogs in at number five.

Number four, this team was on a bye week. This team is just unbelievable when it comes to running the football. It's the Michigan Wolverines and the Michigan offense. I've been saying this all year is better than the Michigan offense last year. The question just is, is the defense better than the defense last year?

And I'm not saying they're better, but they're taking the proper steps. Michigan will be undefeated going into that matchup against Ohio State and that's what it all comes down to. And number three, I really should tie Ohio State and Michigan, but I'm putting Ohio State, I'm giving them a slight edge right now. CJ Shroud's a little bit more polished than JJ McCarthy. Defense has shown me some signs with Ohio State and those wide receivers.

It just doesn't matter who's playing, who's out, who's in, who's hurt, who's not. They just always find a way to have an explosive wide receiver, not even just one, multiple wide receivers at Ohio State. So the Buckeyes are in at number three. Two, I bumped Georgia back to the two spot.

I think I had them at three last week. Georgia doesn't have a flaw in the resume. The only thing you could look at is say, okay, they had a close game against Missouri, but that's coming down to really when Georgia does play Tennessee. And then we'll see who wins that game and who will then be in the driver's seat to get to the SEC title game. And at number one, it's got to be the Vols. Tennessee, they got to be the number one team.

You just look at who they played. If it wasn't just for the brand of Alabama, brand of Georgia, some of the other brands like Ohio State and Michigan, then there would be more and more people putting Tennessee into number one. But to beat Bama when they were three in the country, they beat LSU.

That one's looking only better and better. LSU at the time was top 25 than LSU has played well since then, but they blew at LSU 40 to 13. You beat Florida, they were top 20. You beat Pittsburgh when they were top 20. I just look at the resume.

I think it's right now one of the more impressive resumes in the country. They got Kentucky this weekend. That could be a little bit of a trap game. No doubt about it before you do get to Georgia because Kentucky, we know it's a heck of a football team. So my top five this week in college football, TCU at five, Michigan at four, Ohio State three, Georgia two, and Tennessee and at one. Hot take Hickey speak now or forever hold your peace. How about if TCU is the hottest team in the country, then the second hottest team in the country, Oregon.

I thought about them. I love what Bo Nix is doing. Just basically taking all the takes that people had about Bo Nix and throwing them in a paper shredder. It's that loss to Georgia just getting blown out against elite competition. If they had a pulse, yeah, maybe they have more of a case to be in the top five.

I just don't know who to trust in that pack 12. So I'm not putting Oregon in the top five right now. And what about a team who is still undefeated in Clemson?

Very simple. I thought we could start to trust DJ on Golloy. And then last week again, Syracuse happened where his coach who says all he does is trust him, trust him, trust him. I know they had a bye week this week. And next week he says that DJ is going to play and start up against Notre Dame when the moment was the biggest. And it looked like for the first time this year, Clemson could actually go down. The coach said we got to put Kate Clubnik in. So with the uncertainty at the quarterback position on who they actually trust and believe in, no matter what they say, that's why I took Clemson out of my top five and put TCU in because I trust Duggan now more than I do with DJ on Golloy. Zach Gelb's show, CBS Sports Radio, will come on back.

We will look at the undefeated teams remaining in college football.

This is Gone South, a documentary podcast from C-13 Originals, a Cadence 13 studio.

You could think around the other parts where your car care needs a guaranteed low price is an excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. O-O-O-O-Reilly Auto Parts. You remember Scott Ferrell, right? The legendary Scott Ferrell? Oh, can't forget him.

Yeah, how could you forget Scott Ferrell? One of my favorite, not actually one of, my favorite person that I've ever worked with here at this company. I can't remember, but when he used to do this O'Reilly Auto Parts read, how did, do you remember how he would say it at the end or it was like you, you, you smiled right away. So I feel like you know the way that he said it. He would emphasize the O-O-O-O-O-O-O, O- O-O-O-O-O-O, O'Reilly Auto Parts. Would it, I don't think he, did he do the singing of the O-O-O-O, O-O-O early, or was it just Autoparts?

Like how was it at the end? I always remember there is something specific. I don't remember at the end. I think he emphasized the O though.

That's what I can feel like that stands out. The reason why that just popped into my head was I was watching an old Pharrell clip last night. I couldn't sleep last night. So I was going down the rabbit hole of YouTube where I don't know how I got to Pharrell. But I started with James Corden, Carpool Karaoke. Then I did like one episode of Hot Ones. And then I guess just the way things were queued up or the suggestions because of what I do, I started getting all these old clips, radio clips, and there was one of Pharrell. And it was a comment underneath that I love how this guy does the O'Reilly auto parts read.

And for whatever the reason was, I can't remember how he did it. So anyway, that was that. Okay. Hot Take Hickey. You got the undefeated teams for me in college football. Give me the team. I'll tell you what's the chance of them going undefeated the rest of the way. Number two, Ohio State is seven and oh, what are the chances they finished the season 13 and oh? They're going to be scheduled. They play Penn State this weekend, the Northwestern Indiana, Maryland, Michigan.

There's only one game they could lose. And that's Michigan. Now, if I was your school Penn State, and if James Franklin had any stones, wouldn't you start Drew Aller this week?

Wouldn't you just rip off the Band-Aid and go, that's our future. Sean Clifford, thank you. You've done a good job at the university.

You've been here for a long time. It's time to hand the baton over to Drew Aller. I mean, I would have done a week one.

So yeah, I'm ready. Why isn't he doing it at this point? Loyalty, probably. That's a stupid answer.

Not your answer is stupid, but his reasoning is just stupid because I think you are right that it is loyalty. For James Franklin, you've been an overrated coach. You can't be top 10 teams. You've been the coach that's good, not even very good, but you're not great. Wouldn't you get the valuable experience now of the guy that's supposed to be the savior? Like, I'm okay if you don't want to start in week one.

That's fine. And you only have one loss of the season. But when you just got annihilated by Michigan two weeks back, you got to start thinking about next year because this team's not going anywhere significance this year. You're not winning the big 10. You're not going to a college football playoff berth. So the purpose of the season should be in what, you're going to try to go to a New Year six ball? Like, does that move the needle for you?

They're hot to kick you. This team's at a New Year six ball this year. I think I see it back to the Rose Bowl. That's a lean year.

So I mean, I'm not going to sit here and spit on it. I would definitely take a New Year six ball. But wouldn't you rather have Drew Allen get the experience now?

Maybe that comes at the expense of getting a New Year six game. So you then next year could be an actual legit threat and not learning on the fly. Yeah. Oh, I said before the season, I'd rather go six and six with Drew Allen, then like eight and four and nine and three with Sean Clifford.

Oh yeah. So that's why I think James Franklin once again has made a massive mistake and it's going to come back to bite him that you know what next year. As in regards to Ohio State though, and I know you're going to ask me Michigan next. It's going to be the same answer. I'll go Ohio State.

Well, I'll give you a little bit of a different answer. Ohio State's a six confidence that they're going to go undefeated like a, you know, six and a half. And I'll put Michigan out of six. One of those teams will be undefeated because one of those teams clearly going to win when they go up against each other Thanksgiving weekend. I don't see Michigan having a loss from here until Ohio State. They play Michigan State this weekend, Rutgers, Nebraska, Illinois, I'll give credit to Brett BMO, the job he's done this year and then you play Ohio State. I give the slight edge to Ohio State solely on one thing that they're the home team. So maybe just maybe then maybe I should bump it up and put it more like Ohio State a seven and Michigan like a 6.5. So that's my confidence level. One of those teams will though be undefeated. All right. Let's go to the EC.

Cause you're Mr. Big Ted. So you hate Michigan and you have all this fake outrage for Michigan, but that's a topic conversation for another day. You would agree Ohio State gets a slight edge cause of Michigan, you know, going up against Michigan right now, or do you think it's more drastic than the way I make it out to be? No, I'll say slight. I think they're, I think they'll be extra motivated after last year's embarrassing beat down that happened. Do you have any extra motivation though for that game?

I think it was humbling. Yes. Like they made staff changes because of that loss.

Sure. Like they fired the defense coordinator. I think Jim Knowles has done a better job so far. But there's only enough motivation for that game cause they're going to be undefeated. That's going to be their opportunity. If you don't win that game, you're not going, you know, who cares about the big 10. Like in the, like in the offices, they made changes and they built their team with an eye on beating Michigan.

They took them seriously for the first time cause they never had to take them seriously the last decade. They've dominated them and not only do they dominate them, they bullied Michigan bullied them last year. Well, I'm saying Ohio State's down in Michigan and then to your point, they absolutely did. And now you have to like build a team going into this year that can stop the run. You know, Michigan is not shy about what they're going to do. They're going to run the ball right down your throat.

And if you don't change what your approach was from last year, this year, the same thing's going to happen again. I don't care if it's in Ohio stadium or not. I mean, Michigan absolutely run the ball down their throat.

They don't make any changes. And I'll tell you this, there will be a big throw made by McCarthy in that game. McCarthy is a much better quarterback than Mac DiMara. Last year the game wasn't even close, but that game gets close. Don't be surprised if you see a 45 yard touchdown down a sideline to Ronnie Bell or one of those other wide receivers because Michigan has a lot of speed.

Everyone focuses on Coram and he's great and he's a Heisman trophy candidate, but they got a lot of speed at the wide receiving position. But I give the slight edge to Ohio State just because they're home. If this game is at Michigan, I would say that the number then is Michigan seven, Ohio State six and a half. That's how close we are. We're splitting hairs with these teams. How about Georgia, number one in the country, seven to know on the season.

Will they be 13 and oh man, this is so tough. Is that I feel like I should pick Tennessee for that game. But until someone takes down Georgia, how do you pick against Georgia? I do think Tennessee this year has been the better team. Now we'll see what happens coming up in a few weeks. I think Georgia, I think Georgia is going to lose the game somewhere along the way.

I do. I think and I think it's going to be Tennessee. So I could see a world where Tennessee even after that big win against Alabama a few weeks ago with the way the Hendon hookers playing find their way to beat Georgia. You know what it shocked me if George is undefeated and back in the college world playoff is undefeated team SC champ.

No, but I just I have a feeling there's going to be a loss somewhere along the way. And at this point, it's got to be Tennessee or like who else are you going with? I know they have Florida, Mississippi State, Kentucky. I can't say that you're banking on those teams to to beat Georgia. So at a time and say like for conference level higher, I think it's got to be higher. Because if Georgia beats Tennessee, you would agree then other than losing to ever is coming out of the East in the SEC title game, then they would be going undefeated, right?

Yes. Yeah, I don't think sorry, we'll let us sorry, Georgia Tech don't think they're going to be the ones delivering the one L to Georgia. I'll put it out like a six. How about Tennessee then also undefeated six and a half, six and a half.

Yeah, so it shows you in one breath. I'm saying that Tennessee is going to beat Georgia, but there's not a lot of confidence behind behind me saying that I think that's going to be another grinded out type of game where there's going to be emotional high early for Tennessee, then George is going to get back into it like what Alabama did. And then it's going to come and may come down to who just has the ball last between Tennessee and Georgia. And Tennessee's schedule is not easy at three ranked teams left. You know what though, the more I think about it and Alabama's got to get there first, but you would expect that they're going to get there. Tennessee wouldn't shock you if Tennessee beats Georgia and they lose to Alabama, like that would not shock me. I know Alabama's not been great this year. I know they've been uncharacteristic.

I know they've been sloppy. Still though, if Alabama gets to a win in your in type of game for the college football playoff, it would not shock me in the slightest, even though right now I think they're trending towards missing the college football playoff if Alabama's in at the end of the year. You know, it's going to be a combination of those three teams. Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama picked two and it would be kind of create, it would kind of suck for Tennessee in this scenario of Tennessee's only losses to Georgia. And then Georgia gets into that SEC title game and Georgia loses to Alabama. Now Alabama lost to Tennessee, but if Alabama wins the SEC on one loss to Tennessee, you know they're going to get in. That's a scenario that could happen where it's Alabama and Georgia in Tennessee beat Alabama. But since the doors left open for Alabama, Tennessee doesn't get in.

What if Tennessee runs a table? They beat Georgia, they beat Alabama. Is Georgia actually that much of a shoo-in, in your opinion? Oh, you're saying so if Tennessee runs a table 13 and oh, so they give Alabama assuming Alabama gets there, right? If Alabama loses in the SEC title game, yeah, then Georgia would get in. If their only loss is to Tennessee, you think Georgia's resume is strong enough? I think they'll get in. Yeah, I do. May not get in based off merit of the resume, but I think they'll get in.

All right. How about TCU? Speaking of undefeated.

They are right now rolling under Sonny Dyke, seven and oh, how about the last four weeks? Is there a more impressive run in college football through four weeks, you know, just four weeks with four top 25 opponents and you beat them back to back to back to back when all we say is the big 12 just beats up on one another. TCU is beating up on everyone right now. I want to see the horned frogs, go horned frogs.

I want to see them in the college football playoff. With that being said, though, you know, you know, they're going to shoot themselves in the foot at one time this year. It's a, you know, you talked about the four teams they just beat in a row.

It's a manageable schedule down the way now you're not wrong. But they have to play in Texas. Like that's the one where I think they're going to lose. Quinn Ewers big game. Well, Texas can't stop anyone right now. So that helps fair point.

But that that's just one that I look at that I can say, okay, that could be the one. And I know Baylor has not been as good as what we thought they were, but you can't put anything pass a random. They probably don't have the offense though to keep up with the with TCU. And finally eight and oh, Clemson on a by the team that we keep saying it or you at least I've kept saying they're guaranteed that they're undefeated. The big question is, will they go win five more games?

I hate to say it because I just kept them out of my top five for take five. I don't see a scenario with the games that they have left on their schedule where Clemson doesn't go undefeated. This ACC I don't care what Eric Macklin said when he joined us. This ACC is not as strong as the big 12 and the pack 12 this year. They'll beat Notre Dame. They'll beat Louisville.

They'll beat Miami. We'll have to pray that the Gamecocks find a way to take down Clemson, but that's not like a good feeling. So I think Clemson is going to be in the college football playoff.

What about Wake? If they get a rematch in the ACC title game of the Wake Forest, you push them to overtime and lost like, what was it? I'll trust the Clemson defense. I'll trust the Clemson defense and DJ played great up against Wake Forest.

So did Sam Hartman. So even though there's a concern about DJ now after what happened against Syracuse could DJ of 2021 pop up against Wake Forest. Yeah, I just don't think they have the defense to, uh, to beat Clemson. Keep it close. We saw this year going to overtime, but I'm not going to be sitting here and telling you I feel really, really, really confident that Wake Forest is then going to beat Clemson.

So I think they're going to be undefeated in the college football playoff and get annihilated in the first round. Throughout the 60s and 70s, cops hunted down key figures of the Dixie Mafia, including its enigmatic ringleader, Kirksey Nix. I'm interested in making money.
