Good evening and welcome to another edition of What's Right, What's Left, the voice of the Christian resistance on this 22nd day of November, 2023. And folks, it was, I wanted to say tonight happy birthday to my son Matt today. And happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there listening tonight.

And it was 60 years ago today I was working as, doing carpenter work when I heard on the radio, we interrupt this program, and it was about the assassination of President John Kennedy 60 years ago today. And tonight we have none other than the very, very well qualified producer, Kyle. Hey, Pastor, happy Thanksgiving. All right. Well, happy Thanksgiving to you too. And then way out yonder, we have that legendary preacher, Pastor Joe Larson. Yes, I want to just tell everybody, enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto him and bless his name this Thanksgiving.

All righty. And then we have someone who's thankful for everything. And she's a lot prettier than both Joe and I. And that's Miss Wendy Wilson. Hey, Wendy. Good evening, Pastor and Joe and everybody. How are you? We're doing okay tonight. Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes. Happy Thanksgiving to you. Well, we're going to get right into our message. We have a whole lot to do tonight. And so remember the title, Joe, the title of the message was? Title was give thanks unto God and fear not. And we're going to pick it up where we left off tonight in Colossians, chapter two, verses four through ten. And so, Joe, read verses four through seven. All right.

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the Spirit, joying and beholding your order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ, as ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord. So walk ye in him, rooted and build up in him and established in the faith as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. All right.

You know, it's an interesting thing. He says, as you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you with him. So if I was to say, what does that mean, walk you with him? You know, here it's very specific in Scripture, actually what that means. It means one, John 8, 12, in his light, walk with him in the light. In John 4, 5, walk with him in wisdom, and in Ephesians 5, 15, circumspection, and here in Romans 6, 4, in newness of life, and 2 Corinthians 5, 7, in faith, and in 1 Thessalonians 2, 7, or 4, 12, I mean, and in the Spirit. And so honesty and in the Spirit. So he goes on to say... All those together you kind of have born again believers, right?

Because he is the light of your life and you're walking in his judgment statutes and you have the indwelling of his Holy Spirit in you. Let's go with verse 8, beware lest any man spoil you. Now that word spoil there, actually the word despoil, but it means what?

It means to lead captive. Beware lest any man lead captive you through philosophy. Oh boy. When was the first time that philosophy was used in the Bible? When was the first time? Let me ask Wendy, because Wendy's smart as a whip.

Hey, Wendy. Yes, yes. When do you think the first time that philosophy was used in the Bible?

The Garden of Eden. You're right, you got it. That's the first time the old serpent used philosophy on Eve and it didn't work out well for us, did it? No. No. And boy, there was a lot of vain deceit there, wasn't there?

And after the tradition... Exactly. Well, it goes back to that verse 4, that beguiling you with enticing words, and that's also exactly what the serpent did, enticing words. The whole world, liberalism is based on what? Emotionalism, and emotionalism is beguiling words, right?

You're not using logic or truth, you're hitting people in emotions, either frightening them, fear or, you know, coercion, deception. Actually, the definition of philosophy means to love wisdom. It's the love of wisdom.

But today, let me ask you this. But man's wisdom, though, isn't it? Today, when we see, we see vain philosophy being used, especially in our colleges, our universities. You have all of these young people out there, anti-Israel, to kill Israel, destroy Israel. This is vain deceit, this is philosophy, but this is the philosophy that's being taught through the universities today, and this philosophy comes through the indoctrination of cultural Marxism, doesn't it? It sure does.

Marxism is, and it's always behind it, whether you call it Marxism, cultural Marxism, progressivism, liberalism, communism, social, they all go back to the same philosophy, don't they? It's anti-Christ, and promoting, really, you know, Satan is the one you should be following. So, Satan always wanted to destroy all of God's divine institutions. The very first divine institution we received was that of marriage in the family. How is Satan trying to destroy marriage in the family today? Well, he promotes, I mean, the left promotes, you don't have to be married, you can just live together, they just, they have the sodomite marriage, promoting it as marriage, I mean, anything to deface, harm, divorce, yeah.

Well, what about the philosophy that women can have it all, they can have the security of marriage in a family, they can have a career in a variety of sex partners, what kind of philosophy is that? They call it open marriage, don't they? Yeah, it's called open marriage. I never, when I was growing up, I never heard of any such thing as open marriage, you know, until probably the last ten years, what about you folks? Yeah, I haven't, probably into the 90s or 2000s, yeah.

Well, you're way ahead of Joe and I. Well, it was probably somewhere in there I'd heard that concept, it wasn't something that I saw, anything around the people I knew, but it was one of those things you heard about. Right. And I kept hearing this word, cuckold, cuckold, and I did not, you know, you would hear a bandit around about, but I didn't know, I never knew what it meant until the last couple of years, this is something, I don't know, has that word been around more than the last three or four years? I don't know, I just heard it. I'm afraid of looking it up one time, it's been around for hundreds of years. No kidding, and it's an amazing thing. It's the times we're living in.

What about this? When I was growing up, and the entire time that I was growing up, every single boy that I knew, knew that he was a boy and not a girl, and every single girl that I knew, knew that they were girls and not boys. There wasn't any confusion on whether they were boys or girls. If they were a boy, you knew you were a boy, if you were a girl, you knew you were a girl. Now, that changed recently, but let me tell you this, when did, I mean, has that been that way with you guys more than the last few years?

This is a relatively new thing. I remember finding out in high school, one young man in our high school was talking to a bunch of the girls, and he was saying how he thought he was really, well, he was calling it gay at the time, and that he was more interested in boys than the girls. That was the first I'd even heard of something like that, was in high school. Well, that was even, they didn't even use that word when I was in high school, that was way out of it.

Heck, I was in the service before they started using, even after that, they called it queer, and in my day it was called queer. So, Wendy, did you know any boys that didn't know they were boys, or any girls that didn't know they were girls? I suspected a couple of classmates in high school were kind of, you know, the homosexual type, you know, but they tried to hide it pretty well, you know, they weren't open about it. You never went up to them and said, you're a little strange, aren't you? Well, this person that I'm thinking of, you know, hung out with girls more than guys, he really didn't have any guy friends, you know, and I thought that was weird, you know, usually guys hang out, they fix cars, you know, they play football, but he didn't do any of that stuff.

Uh, you know what, I knew a couple of women, well, I still know a couple of women that would rather hang out with guys, and I know several women that told me that they would rather work with men any day than work with women, that, in fact, two of these women were women bosses, they were executives, so they told me that they would rather work with men any day than work with women, and they would rather hang with men, but I never thought for a second that that meant that they had the, you know, were lesbian or anything like that. Well, I'm trying to get a clue when a high school male would rather go shopping with you than, you know, do something more male-related, you know, especially if he went shopping for shoes and, you know, and helping you pick out things and, you know, and you had to secretly wonder if they really thought of themselves wearing that, you know, instead of you. Huh, and if he came shopping wearing a dress, you'd know for sure, wouldn't you? Yeah, actually, I ran into a guy at the post office, he was wearing a cocktail dress and high heels, and he was quite hairy because he was a guy.

He had a kind of a really bad looking wig on and some makeup, but, you know, you just can't help but stare, I mean, it just looks too weird. You didn't ask him if he was a Democratic Congressman, did you? No.

I probably would have. All right, we better keep going here, we gotta keep going. Okay, now, he, verse 9, for in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Oh my gosh, listen, this next verse goes right over the head of most people, they never, they don't really grasp, okay, the importance of this next verse, okay, the gravity of this. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. Now, first of all, the Godhead bodily, Jesus said when you, they asked Jesus, when will we see the Father? He said, when you've seen me, you've seen the Father, okay?

Father, right. Because bodily, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost dwelt within Jesus Christ's bodily. But hear this next verse, and ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. Now, who was the Creator of the universe? Who created the universe? Well, it said, let us make, it was God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost. The Father did the directive, the Son the Word spoke, and by the power of the Holy Spirit it was accomplished. Right, but specifically, one person is called the Creator all through the scriptures. Jesus was the Creator.

Right. All things were created by him and through him. So, the Creator of the universe was omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Now, what does that mean, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent?

He's everywhere all the time. He's all power, all knowledge, and all presence. So he's got unlimited power, unlimited knowledge, and there's no place you can go, as King David said, where he's not there, right?

Right. So now, but here now, let me read this verse again, and ye are complete in him, and ye are complete in him, which is the head of the principality and power. That means that in us, in us dwells the Creator of the universe, the one that is, that has unlimited power, that has unlimited knowledge, and has unlimited presence, dwells in us, dwells in us, and in him we are complete. Now, did you ever think about the gravity of that?

A couple of times it's really kind of scary. We have within us God Almighty. We are now housing the Creator of the universe.

It's a personal relationship. We are now a son or daughter of the living God, and I think a lot of people cannot really grasp that, for real. Jesus explained, you know, we're just pilgrims passing through. Our home is not here. Our home is in heaven with him, and this is our sojourn to get to our home.

Well, it is. Well, we're going to shift over now, and we're going to be, I'm going to make a fast announcement, and that announcement is that we have, coming up on December 1st, Friday, one week from Friday, December 1st, at a tactical civics meeting at Doers of the Word Baptist Church, and that's at 7 p.m., and that's at 14781 Sperry Road, 14781 Sperry Road in Newberry, Ohio. Also, we have this coming Sunday, this coming Sunday, this coming Sunday at 4 p.m. at Doers of the Word Church. We're going to be showing that film that we talked about last night, Shot Dead, Shot Dead. Oh, Wendy, this was a, there's a film out called Shot Dead. You can go up on the internet, and you can just go to Brian Festa, well, let me see, I'm looking for the address, oh, that I had, that I was given out last night, and see this film, it talks about the COVID shot, 81% of miscarriages, the women that were pregnant, Wendy, they took the shot, 81% of them miscarriages. We had the father of one of the young women who went and got the shot without her, without her parents' knowledge or permission, and, and she died, but they, they really give you a lot of stats on just how bad this, this, the COVID shot is, and so we talked about that last night, but we're going to be showing that film called Shot Dead at Doers of the Word Baptist Church at 4 p.m. this coming Sunday, and then mark your calendars for the December 3rd, the first Sunday in December, Sunday, December 3rd, the 7 p.m., the, at the Chesterland Christian Center, we're going to have the Geauga County Right to Life Christmas Concert, that's the annual Geauga County Right to Life Christmas Concert, and that's Sunday, December 3rd at 7 p.m., so those are my three announcements, and with that, I'm going to, I think I'm going to play a quick, let's go to that quick break, and then we have a whole lot to cover, so take it away, Kyle. Sailing ships they crossed the oceans wide to the land our God bestowed to plant the seed of Christian liberty so that all the world would know their blessings in the wilderness increased with prosperity and health but the ancient powers that ruled the earth grew lustfully jealous of her wealth and sent the British armies to make war with his sons of liberty who placed their faith in God and by his grace fought and won the victory and proclaim themselves we the people United States of America shall be faithful and establish rights as Americans we shall not bow down the mysteries of conspiracy unfolds in our nation's history as the ancient banking powers that rule this earth tries to steal our sovereignty and now this new world order marches in to make war within our land and once again Americans it's time to rise up and take a stand and declare ourselves we the people of the United States of America shall be faithful and install our rights as Americans we shall not bow down to tyranny we will not bow down to tyranny we will not now Wendy and Joe why was it that the pilgrims left England went to Holland they were they were why did it come here to America right off the bat but what was it what was it was the reason that they wanted to flee England I think they wanted freedom of you know religion freedom of speech everything that we Americans love is freedom so John Bunyan when he wrote Pilgrims Progress what was it he was put in prison for approaching without a license he refused to receive the 501c3 of that day huh exactly and so he wanted freedom now they came to America to find freedom and they found freedom it was a tough journey but today many of us in America that see how they're trying to take away our freedoms the communist parties daily trying to remove our freedoms our freedom of speech telling us there's words we can't use freedom of the polls with with the election the corruption in the elections and the voting they're trying to take away all of our freedoms the freedoms of parents of being able to have control of their children freedom the parents in the school boards and so where are we going to go where are we going to go to find freedom there's nowhere else to go so what does that mean we better make sure we save it here or lose it forever you're absolutely right it's here it's now it's here and it's now isn't it and it's time for us to take our country back America was great because America was good and we've let we've let them take America we've let them turn America into a Sodom and Gomorrah but it's time for our people to rise up it and are we are seeing that happening across the country with the different the different patriot movements are all coming together now and so I'm going to read from the history of the Plymouth Plantation starting from the American Christian history in England the Bible was finally translated into English and it was being read by everyone godly preachers were traveling the countryside telling the truth of God's word many people were becoming aware of their sins and giving their lives to Christ as they did this they were confronted with their friends laughing at them and telling lies about them their lives have become hard due to persecution they bore all their troubles with much much patience and and studying God's word even harder these people saw the evil of those who were anti-christian and believe they were the Lord's free people so they joined together into a church a state at Scrooby England together they could walk in God's ways as we just read doing their best to live a Christian life with God's help they were willing to hold their beliefs true no matter no matter what it cost them the persecution of the separatists as they were called now that comes right out of second Corinthians chapter 6 if you're a Christian you are a separatist became so great that they decided to leave England for Holland when they left much was left behind their land their livelihoods their friends familiar surroundings they left to go to a country with different customs language jobs and government the separatists were plain simple country folks and they were not accustomed to the ways of the new country the move was full of problems and difficulties but they set their hearts and minds on the word of God and raised his providence but when they went to leave England they found that the ports were closed to them they could not stay in England for they're no longer had a home but they could not leave England for no one would take them secret passions would sometimes search for them but it usually ended up in betrayal and the loss of their goods and money finally in 1607 a large group of separatists gathered in Boston in Lincolnshire and hired a ship to take them to Holland soon arrangements were made and a time was set and their goods were placed on the ship finally after a long wait and much expense that looked as if they would be on their way but when they were all on board the ship the captain betrayed them the captain had made arrangements for officers to come and search them and place them in open boats to take them back to town once in town with no money books or possessions they were put in prison to await trial months later they were set free and were to try again the next spring a friendship was formed and arrangements made with a Dutchman at Hull to take an even larger group to Holland they were to board the ship at a place which was distant from any town the women children and possessions were sent to the location a day ahead of departure in a small barge but since the sea was rough the women and children became very ill and they found calm waters in a nearby creek the next day the women and children did not stern to moon but the men were ready on time the Dutchman was loading the men on board and the ship when he saw a large group of soldiers coming with weapons the anchor lifted and the ship left immediately the men watched on board the ship as their women and children were taken hostage with all of their possessions the men were left with no money or clothes there was nothing for them to do but trust god we stopped there Wendy okay here you are you've got your children and your the ship is there the men are loaded up on the ship and then the soldiers come the ship takes off and you're watching your husband sail away and you're left with your children what do you do wendy wow you pray yes because you know what else is there you know what else is there to do joe the only thing left is to pray well that's exactly what the men did is to pray because at that point it must have after what they've already gone through it must have appeared hopeless well that's exactly what they did the men sailed for 14 days in a storm that frightened even the experienced sailor the separatists raised their voices in prayer all looked like when the ship began to sink but the lord's power and mercy appeared when the ship rose up again and the sailors hearts gained courage bradford tells of the prayers that all the men and the sailors alike said heaven to her during that storm it was just a short time after the ship recovered that by god's providence the storm weakened and ended and when they reached their desired port the people came flocking down to the ship to see those whom god had delivered out of such a severe long lasting storm the women and children who have been captured were taken from place to place from justice to justice you know today we call that diesel therapy don't we and they until they did not know what would become of them they were frightened they were alone and did not know what happened to their men folk none of the english officials knew what to do with them they had no home to go to or to be sent back to no place to go finally all the officials grew tired of their plight and just wanted them to go somewhere somewhere was where their husbands and fathers in holland which is finally by god's providence exactly where they were sent now in all the handling of the case in england the cause of the separatists became quite famous many others were to hear of their plight and join them in holland in holland the separatists were faced with problems concerning language customs dress they kept their eyes on god even in the face of poverty which would they would they would have to handle god saw their faith and patience and he gave the victory over their troubles today to this very day would you say that holland is kind of what they would call liberal and all of their uh their social it's been extremely liberal far left yes they led the way in prostitution and and euthanasia when the separatists left england there were a few who stayed till the last to be sure that the weakest made it over these men included mr robertson and mr brucer after finally arriving and living in amsterdam for a year robertson and brucer decided to move a group to laden this was done to keep the church from dividing into two groups with much harder continual work the separatists who had been farmers for the most part were able to learn new crafts and develop a comfortable living they were to live in laden for many years growing in the knowledge of the lord and being accepted by the community robertson as their pastor taught the group much during those years their ideas and beliefs were formed and their members increased and by 1617 there were over 300 separatists living in laden for 12 years the separatists lived in laden their hard work and hardships finally began to take the toll their leaders were growing old and began to look for another place to live these englishmen saw their friends dying in a strange land and their children speaking a strange language accepting strange customs and dress and it was indeed time to move on the great dream of these separatists was to go to a new land and become stepping stones for other people with this end in mind plans were made to move the colony again their thoughts turned to the land of america which was full of promise and few people as plans were made fear grew in the people would they starve be killed would they have no clothes or be lost at sea all kinds of thoughts grew up finally the people decided that god would not turn his back on them and they decided that it would be better to die a free man in america and in exile in a foreign land oh what do you think joe wendy freedom isn't free is is freedom worth dying for no you have to defend it it is worth dying for their uh choice in the world has been very few times in history when people were free and whenever they were free it uh came at a very hard price a very very expensive commodity so ronald reagan said that freedom is only one generation away isn't it yep we can lose it in a generation we've seen it in the world before and we're watching this uh last generation it's been the last what you know the really the the most powerful changes in america the biggest ones have happened in the last what i'd say 20 years up till recently joe the very few of us the very few of us have been fighting this battle to keep our freedom why the many have not the many have kind of set it out and let the few of us fight if that could take a while to get through the war and the war is over and the war is over if that continues can we win this war no you're right it's gotten to the point now we we've tried to tell them when uh the little things that were changing and happening and for years this is what's occurring this is what's really going on and it wasn't uh big enough things were big enough for bad enough to scare people or make them uh nervous about the future and now they're seeing the end results of 10 000 steps toward this new world order toward communism toward socialism and now some people are beginning to wake up and realize that they've got a fight we see the parents fighting the school board screaming for the school choice and we see two well we've seen two elections argentina and where was that other country uh i can't think of it the guy that just got elected was a uh conservative so we've got two countries that have been extremely liberal and uh just recently have gone uh for a conservative for a fear the dutch the dutch president yeah the one that's for yeah uh he's been fighting for years he's been like a donald trump that they tried to shut up get rid of eliminate and uh he finally won over and uh gert wilders yeah gert wilders and he's they're calling him the dutch donald trump uh he's been a right he's been a firebrand for many many years and uh he's old he's 60 and they finally decided to give him a shot at it because things got so bad joe 60 is not old okay all right well he's he's a young man compared to us yes all right bradford tells next of how the separatists begin to pray to god for his direction and help a conference was then held in virginia in the new world even though it ran the same risk of as much persecution in england it was decided upon their designation two members were chosen to go to england and ask for permission to settle there with freedom of religion their representative found the virginia company which was eager for them to go and willing to grant a patent for whatever privileges they desired the king's seal was then sought and the providence of god waited on and about this time it was learned that the king of england had granted to be settled a large section of northerly parts of the virginia patent which was to be governed separately from virginia and called by a new name new england in this new area called new england reports said that there were lots of fish for that another reasons the separatists decided to make new england their destination the provisions for the trip were purchased from merchants and plans for the virginia company finalized however unknown to the most of the separatists the conditions which their representatives agreed to had been changed bradford lists changes in the conditions with the company for the right to travel and settle in new england one every adventurer people who were not separatist but traveled to the new colony to settle or or planter the separatist now the adventurers were people that were not separatist they were just there who were traveling to settle in new england the planters were referred to as the separatists anyone over the age of 16 was to be granted one share in the partnership to each person who paid for himself and either money or provisions would be granted double shares three the people transported to the colonies would continue their joint stock and partnership together for seven years during seven years all profits all benefits obtained by trade working fishing or any other means would remain the common property of all the shareholders upon arrival they would choose a number of fit persons to work on the fishing boats the remaining people would be divided among the tasks on land such as houses buildings or plantings at the end of the seven years all the profits capital houses lands goods would be used to pay off all the debts and and the remaining equally divided between the shareholders when done each man would be free from debt to anyone in the adventurer anyone who came to the colony later or joined in holding stock would be given his fair share to the end of the seven years any man who brought his wife children or servants would be given a single share for each who was over the age of 16 years if the man provided for their necessities that he would be given a double shares if any one of them between the ages of 10 and 16 then two of them would count as one share any children who went to the colony under the age of 10 would have no share of the company except to be giving 50 acres of land at the end of the seven years anyone that died before the seven years were up their share would go to their heirs all persons in the colony would obtain their own meat drink and clothes in all provisions of the common stock of the of the colony so what do you think joe and wendy do you think that was a fairly decent pretty good deal i don't kind of remind me of all one purse yeah i think it sounded good to people that it had hardships been without they were going into a new world there wasn't anything there of society to help them with and it probably sounded in like my favorite expression is kind of like it sounded like a good idea at the time but i don't think they realized the human nature what they were getting in for they had brotherly love they believe as christians to share and help and i think they were uh going on faith but not looking at their sin nature human nature all righty let's go on the major differences in the conditions were that the lands and houses could not be divided up until the seventh year and then out of a week of seven days two days would no longer be used for a person's own employment and profit also the patent granted them was not for new england as hoped but for the northern virginia land these conditions would have a major effect on the success or failure of the colony after a great lake the small ship the speed well was purchased that fitted in holland it was planned that it would be used in the new colony for fishing always made ready for the journey another ship the mayflower was hired at london all seemed finally ready everyone gathered at Plymouth England and awaited departure the day before leaving the separatists held a day of solemn prayer the pastor read from the bible from Ezra 8 21 which says and there at the river bahaba i proclaimed a fast that we might humble ourselves before our god and seek him a right way for us and for our children and for all our substance everything had been ready each family took to the proper ship and the sails lifted high the journey of the separatists in america had finally begun on august 5th 1620 102 men women and children had become become this great adventure now at this point here in this story it should be actually noted that a smaller of the two ships the speed well became unseaworthy twice the separatists had to return to England and leave again finally the speed well was sold some people gave up but the rest were loaded on the larger ship the mayflower and this accounts for their late arrival at Cape Cod during the cold cold cold winter months the separatists now called pilgrims have finally left England on their voyage to America the journey was great for a while fair winds and weather were enjoyed by all for a short season wrote Bradford then halfway across they began to encounter strong cross winds and fierce storms the ship was severely shaken the upper decks became very leaky one of the main masts bowed and cracked everyone feared that the ship would not be able to to finish the journey a few of the pilgrims realized that the mariners were even afraid and they could tell from their talk that they wanted to turn back they went to the offices of the ship to discuss the situation there was much discussion and differences of opinion as what to do after considerable talk it was decided that the ship was strong enough the main mass was fixed by using a a huge screw out of the pilgrims had brought with them from Holland the large iron screw from a printing press was used to hold the mast in place they cocked what they could in the upper decks with what they committed themselves to the will of God and they resolved to proceed after a period of time and of more storms they finally they finally reached Cape Cod it's interesting too at this point to ponder the fixing of the ship's mast just imagine for a moment a family packing things in in Holland they couldn't take much only what they truly needed the father runs over and puts a huge screw one can just picture the discussion as to its true value as it was a divine providence which saw to it that the screw was on board the Mayflower now can you imagine that Wendy and Joe can you imagine this right you're packing all of these people in here and now they had to take all those folks off this smaller ship put them on so they were packed in uh like sardines and and here the captain allows this guy to put this this huge printing press screw do you think God had to have a handle on that I would say he must have because one everything on the ship the weight they had to carry enough you know food and water to get their food and water to see them off so they could get you know going on their own you just think they had to have the farming equipment they had to have clothing they had to have tools and here's this big screw and then you know you would have thought there's been a fight over it but apparently it was one of those God things because other than that uh why would they have brought that the screws to repair they're going to be going to start building well that screw was for the printing press and Wendy what yeah what conditions you think especially would it would have been harsher especially for women in this situation there was no bathroom on that ship in the back of the ship they had a board uh and there was no privacy do you think that would have been especially tough on the women oh yeah I would think so you know modesty goes out the window I guess in situations like that well it you couldn't because these were uh these were Christian people do you suppose that that uh when the women had to go behind the board that the Christian men were standing in front of it making sure that none of the the sailors came anywhere near well I would hope so yeah I would hope so yeah I would hope so too and so Bradford writes at this point they had borne such hardships even before the journey the trip at sea had been miserable now they looked at a land where there were no ends to welcome them no friends to help them to get settled no places to refresh themselves the apostles according to the bible when they were shipwrecked were met by the natives with kindness and mercy the natives that awaited on shore for the pilgrims were ready to meet them with bows and arrows not only that but it was now the dead of winter if you've ever lived in that part of the country you know that the winters are cold and harsh fear stories are common it was dangerous to travel much less explored unknown sea coast what the people saw from behind the ship was a vast wilderness full of wild animals and men behold them stood the vast Atlantic ocean which they had just crossed it stood between them and the rest of the civilized world the ship's officers and crews were growing restless there was talk of just dropping the pilgrims and their things off at any shore coming up to a break and when we come back from the break we'll pick it up when we come back from the break we'll pick it up because the pilgrims had a plan they came up with a plan here and as we as we take a look back how you know sometimes when we run out of electricity we think how terrible things is just thinks what those folks had to go through we're coming to a break we'll be back right after this break don't go away a whole lot more to come as we talk about this fight thank you for listening to what's right what's left the voice of the
