Good evening and welcome to another edition of What's Right, What's Left on the second day of August 2026. Tonight the folks We're going to start off by prayer. We have three of our folks are are uh senior folks that Doers of the word church that are out Tonight, and they're all out with the very same thing: pain. Pain. They're Um Pastor Howell, of course, you know, we've been praying for him with the lacerations on his his sins.
Um And then Claudia, one of the ladies in our churches, been suffering from severe back pain. And uh then we have Jimmy Neal who who's who's got a multiple uh problems uh you know and Also The pain, not being able to sleep.
So, if you folks out there would join me. Remember, always remember this. The Bible says those who show mercy receive it. If you go and you join with us and pray for these people, The time comes when you're going to need prayer, and there will be those that are praying for you. Especially if you Call here and let me know you need prayer.
So let's pray. Heavenly Father, Lord God, I just want to. Call upon you, Lord, and ask, Father, that you would just reach down and touch these three folks. All three of them love you with all of their heart, Lord. And they've all been in in s a lot of pain, a lot of pain recently.
Oh god, and it seems like the old devil's working overtime. And we know that whenever he's working overtime, that means we're doing something that's getting his attention.
So, Lord of God, again, I just wish you would. I touched all three of them, Claudia, Pastor Howell and Jim. Lord, and bless them in every area they can receive a blessing, and Lord, and take away the pain.
so that they can get a good night's sleep. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. The title of the message This week is the two of us dead. but alive.
The two of us dead but but alive. And uh This is from a passage. It's very confusing to a lot of people. And it's out of Romans chapter seven. In the very first part of Romans 8.
And so we start here in verse 1. Know you not, brethren, For I speak to them that know the law. how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he lives.
Now it's an interesting thing. First of all, he says in Know ye not brethren, for I speak to them that know the law.
Well, Um, most of all of the um Early Christian converts were Jewish people. And the Jews had to l abide by the Mosaic Law. And here he's speaking about two kinds of laws. He's speaking about They both the God's Law, the Mosaic Law, and then Um civil law.
Now today We're still under Now we're under if we're Christians, if we're born again And then we're under the spirit of the law. of God's law, and then if we're not Christian than we're still under the letter of the law, being judged by the would be the Mosaic law. and in both cases under civil law.
Now, in both of those cases, Uh we disagree with there's There's many times where civil law And Biblical law come in conflict. Uh and this is where why passages like Romans thirteen Uh is is spun and twisted and the way it is to to say what it doesn't because you have pissy preachers that that are afraid. They're often afraid Um to preach on a certain passage of scripture. they're afraid because they know that there's times when They're supposed to stand against and push back against it. We must obey, like Peter said.
We must obey God and not man. and things like abortion, uh Sodomy, where these pressing preachers just don't have the courage. Why? In my opinion, they're not saved. They're God didn't raise them up.
Uh, and we've had conflict over the years because they've said now Romans thirteen says we must obey the government And the Romans 13 says you must obey a righteous government, a government that's in Line and in accord with God's word, with God's government. If it's not Yeah. in accord with God's government, then we are not to obey it. We're to obey God rather than man, okay? And so Here he goes on now, he starts giving us some examples Um, both the Jewish law and the Roman law.
you know uh require a woman to remain with her husband until death and Um Today, unfortunately, Oh, in in our society It has been so that the Institutional marriage has been so corrupt and I heard Some of these young Well, young career women now, I guess. Um saying that monogamous a monogamous marriage. Monogamy is is a It's outdated. It's Uh they referred to it Uh As Neanderthal, Neanderthal. Oh.
Marriage should be open.
Well, what's the sense of being married? if you're gonna commit adultery with with uh And I have all of these p partners out there, it's it's crazy, but this is the The mindset, whatever God's word, the Bible teaches. they're going to be in opposition to it. And now others are saying that They don't want that institution recognized by the government at all. In other words, if you if you want to call yourself man and wife, Fine, but It should not have any legal jurisdiction to it or not.
But it does. And so It says for women which for the woman who hath a husband, is bound by the law to her husband, so long as he liveth but if the husband be dead, she is loose from the law of her husband.
So then if while her husband liveth, She is married to another man. She shall be called an adulteress But for her husband to be dead. She is free from the law, so that She she is no adulteress though she be married to another now. Again, to day in this country you have no fault of horse. Um yeah but you have a corrupt civil law, corrupt Civil law is corrupted.
And um again The State. Issues license And the state did not give us the institution of marriage, God did. And so marriages should be performed by the church. And so here again today we see this Uh where both at that time when this was written Again, both the Jewish law And the Roman law. made it very, very clear that uh As long as the man was alive his wife should stay by him.
He goes on to say Wherefore, my brethren, ye also become dead to the law, By the body of Christ, That you should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth. bring fruit unto God.
So now He's talking about once we're saved We become dead to the letter of the law. We become dead to the letter of the law. and alive to the spirit of the law. And so we died to that, and we become married then Uh be we become the bride of Christ. And so he goes on to say here.
For when we were in the flesh, The motions of sin which Mm-hmm. Where by the law did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. Here The motions is an old-fashioned term for impulses, which is Is the meaning of that Greek text actually? Paul was saying here that the law itself, the law itself. by its very prohibitions It generates sinful impulses which lead to breaking the law.
In other words, Mm-hmm. Uh How often do you do you feel?
Well You know, I'm gonna do it just because I'm I shouldn't, you know. uh, the temptations, the impulse, people that Um Will willfully sin. an impulse. And But of course we wouldn't know what what sin was had it not been for the l the letter of the law. And so here He goes on to say, But now we are delivered from the wall.
that being dead wherein we were held, that we should serve the newness of spirit, and not the oldness of the letter. And so having given the analogy of marriage, Paul here concludes that the law confirms And seals our bondage to sin As long as we're is we're governed by the law, There is no way I would accept death itself.
So we so we become dead to the law when we were born again, by the body of Christ, Now the fruit is a sanctified life, and freedom Uh that produces works, good works. Right up until Our de our death. And so Yeah. It's time to take a to wet my whistle here. And so he goes on to say, What shall we say then?
Is the war sin? God forbid nay I had not known sin but by the law. for I had not known lust except the The law had said, Thou shalt not covet, so Poor say Net. I hear that the The phone Dation of the law is to Uh Reveal what sin is, what sin truly is. And I say the law is perfect.
The law is perfect here.
So it goes on. Again he says here. Of course the letter Here the letter is synonymous with the law when we refer to the letter of the law. Uh when he says here And not in the oldness of the letter. And so We go on to say But sin taking occasion By the commandment wrought in me all manner Of Compusk.
Concupiscence For with out though our sin was dead.
Well, Concupiscence is simply means Um It it's a It was strong. Uh sexual having always was having strong sexual desires.
Now uh you know now Paul, remember, was a Pharisee. And when he attempted to keep the letter of the law, it revealed all manner of things to him. And so again He is saying here that he had uh a very, very strong sexual desire. For I was alive without the law once. But when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.
Well, prior to the age of discernment, Uh no, we're not talking about Yeah. age and years. We're talking about the Prior to his Well, I would say Well Prior to his encounter on the road to Damascus would be probably a good starting point. but prior to the age of discernment, of the law he died in his complacent attitude toward sin.
So He said, I died in the year. Uh through the end of this the chapter describes the internal conflict in Paul And it and that's the internal conflict we all have today. We have the old nature and those of us that are saved, We have the new nature, but we still have the sin nature that dwells in our flesh. And so he goes on to say Uh again We have that conflict between the old and the new. And Paul goes on to say, I delight in the law of God after the inward man Uh no Think about this here.
He says For I was alive without the law once, but when the commandment came to sin. revived and I died.
Well, Again, that commandment simply means law. And when he said that um When he refers to the inward man, Here Um He says, I delight in the law of God after the inward manner. This could not, you know, could only be said by a believer. Only a believer. could could uh delight in the law of the Lord.
And of course here is couldn't possibly be the testimony of an unsaved man.
So here at this point we see that now Paul, who was a Pharisee of Pharisees, Who who went about persecuting Christians thinking Thinking he was pleasing God, thinking he was being obedient to God by persecuting and killing Christians. And he said, In the commandment which was ordained to life, I found him to death.
Well, you see, The original Purpose of the law. was to preserve life. Yeah. Had Adam and Eve not sinned, had Adam and Eve not sinned in the garden, had sin not entered in, then we would live forever. and they would have been living for ever under the laws of God.
And so Uh and it would have been and so that was the original purpose. But Because, you see, The law was perfect. It was perfect. And that's what would have brought in uh eternal peace and and and uh Life, but then Once sin entered in The law remained Perfect. But sin entered into the flesh, And Here We became Sinful.
and vile in that sense.
So Um Because of the sin that dwelt within the flesh.
So the only thing. that the the law could do for us is condemn us. He goes on to say For sin taking occasion by the commandment, deceives me and by it slow me. Wherefore the law is holy. and the commandment holy and just and good.
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid, but sin that it might appear sin working death in me Buy that which is good. that sin by the commandment might become exceedingly Sinful. And so here thou the law is holy, And good? And just?
And man is carnal. Therefore The law can only condemn us. Um If sin had again not entered into man, Well, then men could have lived again forever under God's laws.
Okay. And so He continues. For we know That the law is spiritual, but I am carnal sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not. For what I would That do I not, but what I hate that I do.
Uh Now here You notice something here? I I I you know it's uh this is kind of uh the you know, the excessive use of the first person pronoun here no less than thirty five times Um between in Romans uh between Romans fifteen and twenty four.
So the old nature which Paul had was struggling and with which every believer must struggle, is self-centered instead of Christ-centered. And as long as the measure of things is I me and mine, instead of the will of God. Then Paul's crying must soon be ours, O wretched man that I am, he says. And so This reminds me of a story.
Well, let me let me go on here and read the next couple of verses. If then I do that which is which I would not. I consent unto the law that it is good Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin dwelleth in me. For I know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing. for to will is present with me But how to perform that which is good I find not.
For the good which I would I do not, and the evil which I do which I would not that I do.
Now if I do that which I would not It is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. A couple of stories here. Uh some years ago The I had a I had a I knew a fellow who I had known Since childhood. He was he was kind of a rough, tough character. And I know you've saw it since childhood.
and he did work for me. And so Here I had some furniture stores back in those days. And One day I came in it was still dark out in the morning. I got there early to the store. and uh as I got in and the lights were off, it was dark, I heard this strange sound.
Uh And so I thought, what what is that?
So I kind of snuck in. looking and then I went towards my office. And there it was he was settin' Uh at the at my desk Yeah and he had The light on, a little light on. And this fella had the Bible open here to this passage of scripture that I'm reading to you right now. And he was crying.
Now, this is the kind of guy that you don't see crying. This was one. rough, tough character. I mean, he was a very rough, tough character. Um he died about four years ago, maybe five years ago.
He had spent over thirty years in prison. But Anyhow. At first, you know, he he used to um He used to like to prank a lot.
Sometimes his pranks were funny and sometimes they weren't. But he he used to like to prank a lot, so when I went in and I and I saw that I said, What are you up to? What are you up to? Uh and he said he looks and he points right here to these passages that I had just read. He says Oh.
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. In other words, I agree uh with it, okay? Uh In other words it Uh he he's making the statement that what he's doing Um That his sin is good. Even though the l the law condemns it.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but the sin that dwelleth in me And so he's saying, he's making a point. It's not me. I'm not doing this, it's a sin. that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me that is in my flesh dwells no good thing, for to will is present with me.
But how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not But the evil that I would not that I do Now I do that which I would not it is no more I that do it, but the sin that dwelleth in me.
So He's making a point that it w it's not his new born again self. his this new born again person that he is, A born-again believer, a new person in Christ, but the old man. his own nature that dwelt in his sin. No, When I said that this fellow was crying, and he's pointing to this passage of scripture, and he's saying to me. This is me.
This is me. He said I The things I wanted to go. I don't like the person I am. I I hate what I am. You know, everybody was afraid of him back in those days.
He was. Um you might say an a real intimidator, a real Uh type of bully. He was He lived a very, very hard life. a very hard life. and he was a a hard man.
And Betty said This is me. I everything I want to do, I want to be a different person. I want to be a good person. I want to do good things. I I don't want to do and live the way I I've I've I've been living here.
And so Uh Again, this they reminded me so much of of of that time and so Uh we go on. To say Now if I do that which I would not, it is no more I but the sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a wall That when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man. And so But I see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind.
and bringing me into captivity in the law of the sin, which is in my members. No, there's all kinds of when we talk about Going back to where we We're when we talked about the motions of sin, motions of sin. That that is b being like spontaneous doing something uh at at the Well Looking upon for a man to look upon a scantly clad woman. who is dressed that way just to get mentally. to look at her and so he he looks And He doesn't look away right away.
ponders any uh you know, he starts having Thoughts. about her. And then It's the same thing for Uh These can'tly squared women, and they notice that. Men are looking at 'em, uh they'll They do a little tease. They like to tease and And sometimes a lot of 'em have ended up Um teasing the the wrong guy and Um it reminded me of those For a while there several years they're they were finding Uh these young girls who were engaging in prostitution and that they were finding them in Truck stops They were being dumped at truck stops, okay.
murdered, but And so Here, when they're talking about, or you might have an impulse, right? You you are People go by, they might. Be walking by a bar And then decide to go in and just just on the spare of the moment, walk in and sit down. and start getting filled with ignorant oil. Or a situation where uh by impulse, especially like these These young street gangs out there to day Uh they might see a a woman who's dressed real nice and carrying her purse and Just an ins impulse.
uh the sins of the flesh decide to go snatch that purse. Uh Or you have situations where Today these these yo young guys out there rob and beat people, or carjack em. And these are uh These are things that he was talking about here. But here now he's saying For I delight in the law of God after the inward man. Again Uh that has to be You wouldn't hear an unsaved man say that.
That has to come from a s a believer, a saved man. to make that statement. Again, Paul recognizes that the law is spiritual. Because It's God's law, and He is Carnal Now we're talking about Uh here When we when we talk about The letter of the law, again, Uh And then Oh. Occasion to the in opposition to the spirit of the law.
So people say, well to me Oh. I remember the speaking uh and a Christian Academy. to the senior class at the in the at the Christian Academy and I was challenged by two young people, both a young bo man and a young woman. And uh they uh we're s will stood in They said there is no longer in a law that we are not under this letter of the law were under the spirit of the law and uh I said, really? And I just Who is?
And they said, Well, everyone that's saved is under the spirit of the law.
Well, is everybody saved?
Now, you see, these young young folks, what they were doing is they were parroting. what they had heard someone say, but they they'd never thought it out, you see. And they said no.
So then what about the people That are not saved. Are they? Apparently, they're not under the spirit of the law because they're not saved, they don't have the indwelling. of the Holy Ghost, right?
So what are they under? We don't know.
Well, yes you do. They're under the letter of the law. They will be judged by the letter of the law. See, when God gave us the letter of the law, on the original until until sending it in, the intent would have been to preserve life, but now He uses God showed us. Just how far after the fall?
just how far men had fallen. to wear There was no possibility at all, not even the slightest, Possibility of man redeeming himself by keeping the law. Of course, that message was a hard message to get through. to the scribes and the Pharisees, and to those okay, And the Judaizers Uh they believe that uh They could keep it the letter of the law. uh to the t nth degree And by that ending up with the works salvation.
Cool. Or which Had that been the case? Christ would never have had to go to the cross. But the whole intent of the law, as as Paul called it, the a horse uh schoolmaster Here was to show again. to show man just how Oh.
Far away from having the ability Uh to secure his own salvation. He couldn't do it. The only one that ever kept the law. who fulfilled the law, the only one who ever fulfilled the law, was the only one who was able to fulfill the law. Because he was the only one that had no sin dwelling in his flesh.
You say, well, how in the world could that be? He actually became a sin on the cross. That's right, he did. he became a sin, and but then He overcame that. He died, and and when he rose again he had put Sin and death.
He had defeated death and hell.
Okay. And so he had paid the price, the atonement for sin completely. Yeah. Well that led into discussion today. About well Could you could well, the discussion was about suicide Yeah.
Um If You're a believer And you commit suicide? Do you lose your salvation? No, you don't, you don't lose your salvation. You don't go to hell. You can't lose your salvation.
You can't lose your salvation. And uh I know people that when you make a statement like that, Uh they say well You're one of those once saved, always saved. Yeah, well that's once you are saved, you're always saved, folks. And how do you know that?
Well, that's what the Bible teaches. It doesn't really stutter. Um if you go to Ephesians In chapter one, there's three points that are clear on that. And Maybe I'll just jump over there real quickly. And then c we'll come back to the uh topic of of of suicide.
And they're in Ephesians. Yeah. Chapter one Let me just jump over there real quick. Uh I want to read you. Fir well, verse 3.
Blessed be the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him.
Now, Here, what is what is he saying? He's saying Here Christ who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings.
Well, The very first spiritual blessing that one can receive is salvation. Once you receive that, then you're open to all the other spiritual blessings.
Now Where where is it do they come from? in heavenly places in heavenly places in Christ.
So the spiritual blessings are in heaven Now I want to jump over here. Go to verses 13 and 14. In whom also Ye also trusted after that you heard The word of truth The Gospel of your salvation in whom also after that you believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnst of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possessions unto the praise of God.
So he's the Holy Spirit. is the seal of our salvation, Jesus Christ is the sealer of our salvation and our salvation is kept in heaven.
Now let me ask you a question. The question is. What Is the most valuable substance that ever existed. The most precious, the most valuable substance that ever existed. The answer to that is the blood of Christ.
Why? Well, because it was the only thing that could take away our sins, And that's the only thing That could guarantee eternal salvation, eternal salvation. That means forever.
Now something to have eternal salvation folks Uh That is that is m more precious than owning your own planets out there.
Now, what are we talking about here? Uh Eternal salvation.
Now You can't lose. Your salvation.
So you say within You mean to tell me that, um That I can go ahead and commit suicide? First of all God judges you not just for what you do, but why you do it. Not just what you do, but why you do it.
Now We started tonight's radio programme off praying for three folks who were in a lot of pain. Uh there have been times in in in where people have been injured to a point where the pain was so bad. Or there's been other situations where Uh people Um committed suicide to avoid a a greater greater Uh pain. For example, I gave we gave an example today. You're out in the wilderness, you get injured, you're injured.
You've got a gun and you've got one bullet in the gun. And you got a broken leg? You can't move. There's nobody around. And all of a sudden you've got you you notice you're surrounded by a pack of wolves.
Well, they're not going to even wait till you're dead. They're going to start eating you while you're alive. Oh No. You have a you have a situation. You're gonna sit there and get eaten alive by a pack of wolves.
Or you're gonna use that that one bullet. Uh Until to make sure that that you're you don't feel the pain, you don't go through all that pain. I mean, that's this might be an example. Other cases where Mm.
Well, we want to d we wanna make sure that we kind of Make a distinction between what could be a sacrifice and what could be suicide. How many times have you heard about soldiers jumping on grenades? They jump on a grenade too. uh protect to save those around 'em.
Well, Some might say, well, that was suicide. Others might say, No, it's There was a sacrifice, in fact. Uh it could be both.
So those are those are some cases, and again, like I said, God uh When He judges us, He judges us not just for what we do, but why we do that. No. When it come to can you lose your Uh let me finish this over in Romans Chapter uh seven first and then we'll go. He says But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity of the law of sin, which is in my members, O wretched man that I am Who shall deliver me from this body? of this death I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord, So then with a mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
And so When the question again comes back. To Um If you commit suicide where you lose salvation, first you can't lose your salvation. But can you relose rewards? Yeah. You can Uh Luis reports and There again.
Um I want to go over to 1 Corinthians here, for example, real quick. uh chapter three in first corinthians In chapter three. I, brethren, could not speak unto you as into spiritual, but as into carnal. even as unto babes in Christ He's speaking to those that are Um New Christians I have fed you with milk and not with meat, for thereunto you were not able to bear it, neither yet are you now able, for you are yet carnal, for whereas there is Among you enmion and strife and divisions, Are you not carnal, and walk as men? For a while I've One saith I am of Apoll, and the other I am of Apollos.
Are you not carnal? Let me jump ahead. Uh I want to say, according to the grace unto verse 10, according to the grace of God which is given unto me as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But every man taketh heed in how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundations can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Yeah. Now if a man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood hay or stubble snow. He's making a point because your salvation gets tried by fire, your works get tried by fire.
So He's saying he gives you these, if you take gold, silver, and diamonds, and you put em under fire, they become pure. they become pure. But if you take wood, hay, and stubble. Um, it disappears. It's gone.
And so now he's comparing this to your works. Every man's work shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it. because it should be revealed by fire, And the fire shall try every man's work of which it was It is. If a man's work abide which he Hath built thereupon He shall receive a reward. In other words, if his If it endures.
If his works endure If a man's work should be burned That's the Woodhays trouble. He shall suffer loss but listen, listen He shall suffer loss.
Now if you're talking about Um Committing suicide Uh this would not be Uh unless Of course God looks upon the reasons why. But normally it would not be Uh It would be a sin. It would be a sin. But here, but if any man's work should be burned, He shall suffer loss. In other words, at the Bemissee judgment He will lose rewards.
But he himself shall be saved he is by fire.
So in other words it is He'll lose rewards, but he won't lose his salvation. He would not lose his salvation. Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy.
Which Temple you are. And so what is he talking about?
Well, If you live in such a manner now, he's he's ref he's talking to Christians, he's talking to Christians here.
Okay. And of course Uh Here Even the unsaved, if they continue to defile the temple of God it's going to cost him. But Well What he refers to I think you you will find Over in Hebrews chapter twelve. And in Hebrews Chapter twelve And I'll get there in a minute. You are.
Oh. I want to start with verse three: for consider him that endureth such. contradiction of sinners. against himself. lest you be wearied and faint in your minds.
You have not yet resisted unto blood. striving against sin. In other words, to re we are to resist unto death, to strive against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children.
Now, again, he's speaking. Uh to the saved here. My son, despise not thou, The chastened Of the Lord. nor faint when thou art rebuked of him.
So what is we talking about earlier those that um your your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost when you live in such a manner you do things like Well solder me Like the scent of L G B T Q if you Uh do that that that sin, okay. uh fornication, adultery, Uh even you've got these people out there They go out and they get covered in tattoos. That's a sin And I you know, I'm amazed at how many Uh so called born again Christians are Or tattooed. I mean A lot of tattoos. All over, okay.
Uh and of course the Bible tells you not to do that. And not to put all those little metal pieces in your face in that too. And yet they do that. And he says here. And have you forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto his children?
My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord. Nor faint when thou are rebuked of him.
So he's saying, If you belong to the Lord, if you're one of his children, and you live in such a manner as to bring disrespect and dishonor to God's name.
Well, you can expect that uh God is gonna chasten you. For whom the Lord loveth He chastens. and scourges every son whom he receives. In other words, he's telling you that that this punishment could be very severe. Uh And so But you are if you are receiving this, if God is chastening you, And I've seen some good examples of that.
Um I remember once specifically, some years back, there was this little comedian. He was a short, blond haired fellow, kind of kind of chubby. And He was the big thing. He was the big hit that the Um he was and he had supposedly gotten saved. He was saved and he was going around on all the talk shows.
He went from one extreme, you know, being Uh a a party w very worldly party type guy. To being a born-again believer, and he was going around on all the talk shows talking about his new faith, his newfound faith. But then he backslid. He, after going out, professing, going on all these talk shows. saying how he was now a born again Christian, Then he backslid, one back two, uh, get into vo you know, to sodomy, went back to sodomy.
And when when he did that, He he died. He just dropped dead. As soon as he did that, he he was the Lord took him right out, took him right home. And so here Now he didn't lose his salvation. But he lost his life.
No. First of all, God does that for a number of reasons. Number one, for his own glory. for his own honour. He does not allow those that are called by his name to, To live in such a manner to bring such a disrespect.
and dis disobedience and dishonor. But also he does it for The um the believer because If he allows him to continue, he'll continue to lose crowns in heaven. He'll lose all his rewards. He goes on to say. For whom the LORD loveth, he chastises and scourges every son whom he receiveth.
If you endure chastising, then God dealeth with you as with sons. For what Son is He whom the Father chastens not? But if you be without chastisement, wherefore all are partakers then you're bastards and not sons. And so people asked me Uh Why Does God allow some people to be so evil?
Okay. People like George Soros, Uh people Like Joe Biden. Barack Obama How how does God allow these people that have that have become so evil. Hillary Clinton, okay. Um Why does he do that?
Why does well The Lord Jesus said that He He allows them A little pleasure Uh For a little time, okay. for a little season he that he He allows them a little pleasure to like you know all of George Sorrow's money and all of this stuff. But it's for a short season, because Uh Once this life is over. Then they enter into eternity. And so this life, that little pleasure that they're allowed as good as it's ever gonna get.
Because once they leave this world Things go south and go south forever. In a huge way.
So He goes on to say that But if you be without chastisement, wherefore all are partakers, then you are bastards. and not sons means you're n you're not saved. That means you're not saved. That means if you die in your sin, you're on your way to hell.
Furthermore, we've had fathers of our flesh which corrected us and we gave them reverence, shall we not much brother be in Subjection unto the Father of spirits and live? In other words, you know as he tells you in Psalm two. When the Lord's wrath is kindled but a little, But a little.
Okay. For they verily for a few days chasing us, after their own pleasure, but He for our profit. that we may be partakers of His Holiness.
Now no chastising for the present seemeth to be joyous, But grievous, nevertheless, afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness to them which are uh exercise whereby.
Now I want to jump back for one minute and go back to Um where we left off And I want to go to Romans chapter eight, verse one. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Let me read that to you again. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit, For the wall of the spirit of life In Christ Jesus hath made me free. from the law of sin and death.
And so Uh That is what would When we we discussed that today, When Christ died for our sins, how many of our sins did His blood pay for?
Well that they paid for all of our sins past, present, and future.
Well, there are those who say, well. like the word of faith movement says there's Repentance is not necessary, not even necessary for salvation.
Well, no, said Uh because we are told that even though We're saved and our sins have been paid for We still have to repent of the sins that we commit in the flesh.
So our new men, we can't lose our salvation. But we're still in these fleshly bodies, and in these fleshly bodies We still will have commit sin and then When that happens we need to repent. of those sins. And so And with that. And folks, let me tell you, repentance is where it starts.
out there and For over fifty years I've been given uh the alter cause, you know, the invitation out there. And folks, I'm going to tell ya. This is real. All of you listening to us on tonight None of you are none of you out there I promised it to morrow. You're just not.
Oh, that's God's call. Many of you might be listening and say, well, I know I haven't made that commitment yet. I'm not quite ready.
Well, you might run out of tomorrow's you might run out of time. You cannot. Afford to take that gamble, You cannot afford to take that gamble. Let me tell you. to spend eternity In torment.
is a horrible, horrible thing.
Now what I'm telling you is what is real and true. It's from the Word of God.
So this is real, this world that you're living in. Uh folks, it's a lot of theater. It it it is. It's a lot of theater out there. Uh folks and It's all gonna burn.
Everything is all gonna burn. But those that are saved They're gonna live forever.
Now that's what God has said. And he's the one that created the universe. He's the one that holds the universe together.
So what are you gonna do? Are you going to call upon the name of the Lord? Are you going to ask the Father pray to the Father and ask for forgiveness of your sin tonight? Then are you going to ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life all of your life? completely and totally, without any reservations.
Are you going to do that tonight? Can you afford Can you afford to wait? Are you gonna Become a new child, a born-again believer, and heir of the kingdom. By taking that get out of hell free card that the Lord Jesus offered. and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Yeah. I wish you would. We're out of time for tonight.
