And uh Boy, do we have a lot to talk about tonight, but I gotta start. I'm not kidding. Already want through my my headphones here.

Now, that that might help somewhat. All right, folks, I've got to tell you this. He's um he's Mike He's my confidant. He's my fellures fellow soldier not failure.

Well, Freddy had slipped. Yeah. My fellow soldier in arms and of course my co-host. Kenny Pioski. Good evening, Pastor.

Good evening. We're ready for another. exciting Bible study tonight. And so the title of the message was Holding to the Traditions of the Apostles. And we're going to really take a go close look at As we go through this, some of those traditions.

We start tonight in 2 Thessalonians. Chapter Two. and verse thirteen through seventeen. But we are bound, but we are bound to give thanks always to God. for you, brethren.

Beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through the sanctification of the Spirit, and the belief of the truth.

So now Right away there's gonna be there's there's certain people out there that when it comes to predestination And where it comes to Uh here Salvation being chosen of God They get into a panic. They think anyone who believes in predestination uh is a Calvinist. And um You know A five point Calvinist, right? But um Anyhow. Here, what is he talking about?

Let's take a listen look at that. Did you remember? Kenny, the five W's that we always use we apply when we study in Scripture. Um Would that be like Who, what, where? Why is that?

Exactly. Exactly. Who is he speaking to? What is he talking about? Why is he talking about it?

When and where? And so Here obviously the first three are easy to f figure out. But the when and where is because at different places and different times words had different meaning.

Okay. Uh in our lifetime we've seen that. Um Remember I remember as a kid We had a uh uh with eight of us kids we had uh birthday parties and there was a book on our bookshelf downstairs said How to throw a gay party. Yeah. Well, believe me, it it wasn't what they meant today when they talked about gay, okay.

Uh or that wouldn't that book wouldn't have been in the house two seconds, okay.

So the words mean totally different than it does what today. Yeah. And same thing too, I remember When I was young If somebody said it's cool, That meant it wasn't warm, it was cold, right? Yeah. And so, but today, man, when it's cool, it means something totally different.

That's cool, man. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And so For a while.

these these young kids, they were They went to these thing called George. Man, that is so George. What? Yeah, oh, you don't remember that one? I don't know that one, though.

Yeah, the e that was what these they called these like valley girls, these valley girls. they were going through that. I had One workin' for me one time in the retail stores, And uh they I I was surprised 'cause they these are these it was a A trend Uh and uh Here Uh the lady that was working, the young woman who was working early twenties. Her friends stopped to see her, these other girls, And you know what, you're not going to believe this. They actually wore shorts But they had their underwear over the top of their shorts.

Yeah, this was something that was supposed to be cool for a while. It and uh They found out that people didn't think it was cool, people just pointed and laughed at him like that. And so When they came in they actually gave it to the store. And I and I I said, what what's what what's that all about? And They say, Well, this is the thing.

This is hip. It's the new fashion. Yeah. Oh. I said, That's interesting.

I said, Oh. Do you boys ever put your socks over your shoes? You know, and They said that ain't cool, right? Anyhow, so Anyhow, l like I said, so different times in different places, but we go back So when we look at this verse... But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brother, beloved, Of the Lord because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit and the belief of truth, So he's talking about Here's the Apostle Paul And he's talking to those in Thessaloniki, the Thessalonica, in the church there.

And he's making a point in the point when he says Chosen you to salvation. From the beginning, from the very beginning, What's he is not the same exactly as it is over in Ephesians 1. Where he was talking about before the foundations of the we were predestined. God before the foundations of the earth, that He predestined us to salvation Here he's actually talking about Did a to the saints in Thessalonica, That you were amongst the first fruits. In fact, that word.

that they use their the word chosen Heromia in the Greek Uh it means to be Handpicked. Like if you're you're picking out, uh, apples you know, you you pick out the good ones and, um And that's what he's saying: that you were amongst the first believers, the early church. that you were hand picked here. And then he goes on to say, Whereunto He called you by our gospel. to obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, Therefore, brethren well, Here what is he saying?

He a god Calls, God's calls come from preaching of the gospel. That's what he's saying. And results in obtaining the glory of God. That's what he's saying. Wherefore he called you by our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Then he goes on to say, Therefore, brethren, Stand fast. Hold the traditions which you have been taught, whether by word or epistle, so He's saying, Kenny, that the traditions where the preaching and the teachings of the gospel, whether it were by by given by mouth or by letter, as from them. And of course, some of those early traditions Oh. Today. Do you know what?

When we are to worship God and offer up our sacrifices today, Our sacrifices to day are not like they were in the Old Testament. Do you know what the sacrifices are that we are to offer up to the Lord as we worship? Um Time? No, it's it's first of all Its praise Mm-hmm. We sacrifice in praise and worship means songs.

Uh And and worship we praise God, we worship God, we pray. But When they offered up the praise, they sang hymns, sang hymns. This is where we get the thing hymnals.

Okay, that's what we have.

So we're we're instructed here to hold to that. Today the emergent church or the purpose driven They've changed it. Rick Warren. We told all these pastors, get rid of your hymnals, throw them out, get them out of the church. Bring in a oh yeah.

Yeah, that was one of the first things he told him to get rid of all your hymnals, bring in a rock band. Yeah. Uh Then, you know, I have different venues, so. of worship. What we uh You know, and of course this is ex exactly the opposite of what the Bible teaches the other thing.

the traditions in the old churches And we hold to the doers of the word, we we still hold to the traditions. We believe the apostles knew what they were doing. And See, not everything that's new is good. New is not always better. And uh well sometimes New can be very bad when you have this whole idea of marketing The marketing the gospel, marketing Jesus Christ as their product.

You know, this all started out the emergent church, the Uh where Um They did they went to body count theology. You go out there, you find out what it is, People want to hear. You you take polls, you go into areas, you poll 'em. What do you want to hear preached? What is it you want to hear preached?

Once they know that, then they'll provide that venue. You can come over here and you'll hear what you want to hear preached. That's not exactly holding to the traditions of the Apostles, is it? No, it's not that's not how it's supposed to be done. No.

And so Anyhow, And that that's what they did there down in Kellogg in Michigan there. That's what Rick Warren did over his saddleback. That's what the whole entire Emergent Church did. See, in the beginning it was working for a while, But now Even like Joe Olstein, You know, he had that stadium full of people. That that's falling way, way, way off.

He's getting out of the business, he said. He's getting out of the business. Mm-hmm. And uh And all of these Some of these churches I was just reading about one of these mega churches, there's in the hole for seventy million dollars. Wow.

You know, they went to uh 'cause people are They're they're walking away. Yeah. You're absolutely right. They're waking up from this. And so he goes on to say Now Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, listen to this carefully, okay, because He's making a statement here.

And his statements got to do with deity.

Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God Even our Father which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation, and good hope through grace.

So no Paul here is making a He's praying. But he's praying to both the Lord Jesus Christ and praying to God the Father.

So to God the Son and God the Father, so the statement he's making here Um is the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, is he not? Mm-hmm. And today now Why would that be important? Are there Uh main groups of r religious uh organizations out there that don't believe that Jesus Christ is a deity that he's they believe he's the son of god, but not God the son. Pretty much every religion out there acknowledges Jesus Christ, but they don't.

Yeah. No one, they don't really, they don't believe that he's the son of God, though. They believe a lot of them will say he's a prophet or. Um But yeah, I mean this lays it lays it out. Right.

uh several places in Scripture Probably one of the well, in the Gospel of John, chapter 1, in the beginning was the word, the word was with God, and the word was God. and all things that were made were made by him, okay. But if you go to Hebrews chapter 1, you've got God the Father. referring to God the Son as thy throne, O God okay.

So he's referring, God the Father is referring to Jesus as God Son, as God. But Also you see over in Colossians it talks about the Godhead bodily. That the Godhead bodily was found in the person of Jesus Christ. But here now He goes on to say. Again, he's ending.

Paul ends with this prayer: Comfort your hearts. and establish you in every good word and work. And so With that. Let's turn over to Matthew chapter 15. There's good traditions.

The traditions of the apostles, and then there's Traditions of men That the Lord Jesus Christ condemned. Yeah. Okay. If we go to Matthew chapter fifteen verses one through eleven We read this. Yeah.

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do these disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

Okay. So here When it when it came to The Written law, they had the law of Moses, but they also had the oral law, okay. And here what what was taking place you were seeing Um That They had An accretion Or it's called an adding to the adding to or the increasing of the oral law, by the scribes and the Pharisees.

So in other words, they they just made up their own laws. Mm-hmm. And they c they kept increasing them for their own benefits. And uh When they talked about the washing of the hands, what do you think they were washing their hands? Why?

Maybe because it touches so much money. Actually It wasn't like you and I when we wash our hands, okay? We we go and we Usually if we have soap, we'll get some soap and we'll put that soap on our hands and we'll hold it over under the faucet and we'll rinse the soap off and dry our hands, right? Yeah. Okay, so That's what normal people do.

But that's not what they were doing. When they called the washing of the hands, it was a ritual. And what they did is they held their hands out, palms up. and they just put the tiniest amount of water down each palm. And it was a a ri ritual that they did called the washing of the hands.

That's not going to kill a lot of germs, is it? It's not gonna clear off much dirt. No, uh uh So they weren't they weren't concerned with the cleanliness as much as they were the ritual. Uh and so he Now remember Jesus always answers questions with a question. But but he answered and said unto them, Why do you also transgress the commandment?

of God by your traditions For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and thy mother, And he that curses father and mother, let him die the death. Deuteronomy five sixteen, I believe. Uh And so How many ways is there to dishonor your parents? He's not talking about adolescents, he's talking about adult males too. you know, that he's speaking to the adult males who he's talking to here.

So He's speaking about a specific way. He goes on to say, For God commanded, saying, Honor thy mother and thy father. He that curses A father or mother, let him die the death.

Now there's ways of cursing, you know, verbally Or there's ways of cursing through your actions, okay?

Now remember in those days usually they had large families, And Back in those days You didn't have Social Security. You didn't have Medicaid, Medicare. None of that.

So do you know How the elderly were taken care of. Yeah. That's right. You see, they took care of their children when they raised them, and then When they became elderly, it was up to their children to take care of them. And uh it wasn't a suggestion, that was a command of God.

So So what we're having what was going on here But you say, whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It's a gift. by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me. In other words, they said, Corbin, Corbin. And what that meant was See, they had access the scribes and the Pharisees Till told the money of the temple. They had act so if they needed something, the temple would would buy that for them, okay?

That would be like me at my church. Saying, well, I have access to all of this. I want you to go out and. And Buy me a Bentley. You know.

Some of these mega pastures actually do that. There's one in the area, in fact, that's done that. Uh But But if my parents were to say, well, Son, I know you got a Bentley. Could you drive it on over here and help me out a little bit? I'm I need some groceries.

I would say, well, Corbin Corbin. Mother Uh it's not my money it's not my money to spend on you. I can only spend it on myself.

Okay. The problem with this is it this was one of man-made their own that the scribes and Pharisees came up with This Was not.

Okay. The tradition of Moses or or of the profits. And so He goes on to say, And honor not his father or his mother. he shall be free thus Have you made the commandments of God of none effect by your tradition, you hypocrites?

Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. But in vain do they worship me, Teaching for doctrines the commandments of men, and this is what he was doing. He was there teaching the commandments of men. And then he goes on to say And he calleth the multitude, and he said unto them, Hear and understand. Not that which goeth into the mouth.

Defiled the man. But that which cometh out of the mouth This defileth the men.

So what was he saying? Kenny there. He he was talking about Uh he was referring back to their The ritual of washing the rules. Yeah. it was what was coming out of their mouth was hypocrisy.

It was it was lies. It wasn't true.

Okay. There there was their own traditions. And uh Boy, they didn't they didn't want to hear that, did they? No. Okay.

So Here uh Let's go over to 1 Timothy chapter 4. In First Timothy chapter four. You know what, I'm gonna have to just step away. Here in the studio I got this little refrigerator over here. And In there I got some bottles of water.

But Third time preaching this today. Yep, it is. And I just reached my bottle of water. I got my bottle of water here. I'm already.

I do it. I know I had to do it.

Okay. Okay. Now one way. Much here. Turned over.

Oh no. Yeah. Good thing you weren't in it. Yeah. Yeah, it's interesting.

Anyhow, So we're over now in First Timothy chapter 4. And we start with verse one.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the later times Some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines the devil.

So Paul is saying that the Holy Spirit has shown him that in the later days They will depart from the traditions of the Apostles and revert to the traditions of men.

So Let's take a look at some of these. Where he says To seducing spirits, that word seducing is the same word we use for deceiving. and doctrines of devils That's a serious accusation, Mm-hmm. Very serious accusation. Let's take a look at what he's talking about.

Speaking lies and hypocrisy. having their conscience seared with a hot iron.

Now, here's what he's talking about. He's talking about. One forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to rece to be received with thanksgiving, of them which believe and know the truth. What What religious group do you know that forbids to marry? Forbids to marry?

I don't know. Um Now he's he's talking here To Timothy. And he's talking about pastors. The reference is mostly to pastures here.

So There's one One religious group is a large body. that teaches total abstinence when it comes to marriage.

Now think about it. Yeah. Okay. So, yeah, it's not. Uh I wasn't equating it to the priests, I was equa equating it to everyone, you know.

Well Yeah.

Well, you're not allowed to marry. I know priests aren't allowed to marry, but. I thought you were talking about a religion where no one was allowed to marry. I was gonna say, I don't know. I don't know of one if there is.

The Shakers. The shakers forbid marriage. That's why they're not around anymore. Died out, huh? Yeah.

And also. The Gnostics was where one But so But now here he's refer the reference is more to Being uh Pastors are bishops in the church. And so But what does The traditions of the Apostles teach where it comes to, pastors, Well, I know. Because if we go to the prior chapter, chapter 3, of First Timothy Here's what we read. Ready?

This is a true saying If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. The o the office of the bishop here Greek Uh Episcope. A pisk of cope is what it was referred to, refers to Well, you know, all of these offices refers to A bishop is a pastor, a bishop is an overseer, a bishop is an elder. Uh all of these These offices were the same, like a You know, if you're a pastor, a shepherd, You know, different congregations refer to their pastors as different.

Some refer to just elders, okay, like Elder Barkley, who were. In the church that he attended they would refer to him just as elders. Uh And so Here He he's making a point here that to be a pastor of a church, to be a pastor of a church Here's the qualifications. A bishop then must be blameless. the husband of one wife Now let me ask you a question.

What does that say for women pastors? Yeah. Um Well, it it doesn't seem like that includes women.

Well, it doesn't because they were specifically told not that they were not to be pastors of a church, okay?

Okay, so he says a bit now, first of all, he says here, This is a true saying. It's that this is the absolute truth, the absolute truth. A bishop must be blameless, the husband of one wife Now, so he's referring to Uh It would be good to be married. Be married. Why would it be a good idea for a pastor to be married?

Because it shows that he can be faithful and Uh Truthful.

Well, no, it it means that you know, sleeping around either.

Some might say it meant that they were never to be happy, but that's only kidding. I know my wife's not listening, so I can get away with this tonight. Because they need to sacrifice, too. Yeah. But we uh Yeah, but no.

So, you see, one of the major jobs of a pastor. not so much to day as it used to be, but for a while was constelling marriage counselling. I did a lot of marriage counseling. My cousin's a pastor, and that's basically him and his wife there. their major ministry and sometimes My wife, you know, and I have to consult h couples together, okay?

Yeah, it's kinda nice if your mechanic owns a car. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, and so So you have an idea if if you're married and you have children, about family situations and conselling. He goes on to say A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober. of good behaviour, given to hospitality, not apt to and apt to teach.

And so That's one of the things here, again, that the traditions of the apostles here. where the pastors were to be one men, Um, not women, okay. You can't be the husband of one wife. They were to be married and have children. The very first command that God gave men was to be fruitful, multiply, huh?

Mm-hmm. And so Here. We see these traditions. Then he goes on. Uh Back to where we left off, where we started over in.

Chapter four Back to verse two: speaking lies in hypocrisy. having their conscience seared with a hot iron.

forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. What uh groups do you know that tell you you have to abstain from meats? Um Vegans? Vegetarians?

Well, yeah, I'm talking about religious. Finally Catholics again on Friday during Lent they abstain from meat. Right. You can eat fish though, huh? Yeah, that never made sense to me.

Okay. Well anyhow, what about Uh the Seventh Day Advents And uh What about the uh the Jews and the and the Muslims.

Now What's it? For a while, we had some people that were. Seventh day Advents they attended our church for a while. And uh They they brought in with them the pork police. They really believe that if you were to eat a pork chop, you're going to hell.

Yeah. And and and so here Let me read this to you again. Forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to receive with thanksgiving. of them which believe and know the truth. We're not under the Dietary laws, we never were under the dietary laws, not the church, right?

So, in fact, today Let me tell ya. Uh if if you wanted to Defeat a Muslim. All you have to do is wrap some bacon around him. And uh, you know, he'll think he's going they actually believe that that he that they're gonna go right to hell, okay? If you do that, if you wrap that bacon around it.

Magic bacon. Yeah. And so Here in the course. Um I I had a friend. Who was a good friend of mine?

He was an Orthodox Jew. Quite a theologian, too, and uh He He was he was married to a l a liberal Jewish woman. Uh And so They used to get into it all the time. In fact, I'll never forget what time. Uh Here He was with me at the office and we saw his wife coming into the store and nothing.

So As she walked in and she was walking close, he says to me, Very loud. He says, Do you know why? A stewish man always die before our wives? I says, No, why? He says, when you're married to a Jewish woman, you want to die.

And he's. He said that. And I mean, they would argue all the time.

Well Here's she came, boy. She was ready. They they got into it. They would always. But here.

Uh She talked him. And to eating a pork roast. She talked him in.

Now he was totally against eating the pork roast. You know, he Absolutely. Uh But she talked him into it.

So he actually ate the pork roast and came down with tomain poisoning. What? Yeah. Uh I think uh I'm you know, my guess probably I I'm not sure, but I think a lot of it had to do with psychological. He He believed it was so wrong to to do that, but he he got had to be rushed to the hospital and have his stomach pumped.

Wow. And um But I think it was, I don't think she tried to poison him at all. I don't know. Yeah. She would she would miss him too much with arguments.

They love to argue so much. But uh anyhow It was he he he was a character. But But quite a theologian, he really knew the Old Testament. And uh Here.

So where it says, For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it's received with thanksgiving. For it's sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

So he's telling you that you can, you know, we can eat that if we want. We can eat shellfish. We can eat. You know, pork chops if we want. or bacon.

Boy, I think of you. You try to take the bacon away from folks, you'd have an uproar. Oh, yeah. I love bacon. And uh You know, the old saying I gotta go out and bring home the bacon.

Mm-hmm. So let's go over to 2 Peter chapter 3. And the second listen, I I actually know these guys that believe that if you ate bacon you were gonna go to hell. That would send you to hell, okay? Like that was an un unforgivable sin.

Hmm.

So 2 Peter chapter 3 What other traditions do some of em They they hold to Why do we meet? Do you know why we meet on Sunday and have our Sunday service? You see, We Are under the spirit of the law, we can meet any day of the week, or we can meet every day of the week. We're free to worship. Uh On Thursday, on on Wednesday, any day of the week we're free to worship.

But why do you think that we worship on Sunday?

Well, because That's the day God rested? Uh No. That was Uh He rested on the seventh day. Which is Saturday. Oh, that would be Saturday.

Okay, so then the opposite would be. uh to celebrate the beginning, the creation. And the day that Jesus resurrected. That was it. He was resurrected on the first day of the week.

He appeared to the disciples on the first day of the week. They held the church service after that on on the first day of the week, where they would meet, and it was called the Lord's Day. And so ever since. Uh here Baptists had been meeting on the first day of the week. But we're free to meet on now some a lot of your uh fundamentalist Baptist churches If if they have small buildings They'll they'll have services both on Saturday and Sunday.

Uh you know different people than on Saturday and Sunday. Which is which is fine. We're at liberty. We have the liberty to do that, okay? And so here now In Second Peter, you won't believe it as I can't.

Finally. uh getting the cap off this bottle of water.

Somebody put that cap on there. For pretty Someone went in your fridge and tightened all the caps. Yeah. That felt good, I can tell you. On a parched throat.

Yeah. So we start in verse fifteen. Uh What chapter? Se uh second Peter ch CHAPTER three Second Peter chapter three Starting in verse fifteen.

So we read. and account that the long suffering of our Lord, is salvation even as our beloved brother Paul, Also, according to the wisdom given him, hath written unto you.

So what's Peter saying here? He's saying that uh and is dealing with those that he's talking to here. uh saying that he's going to tell them Uh The very same thing that Paul had, whatever Paul had already preached to the church in Asia. And Peter was here in the To back Paul up. and say, remember, this is what Paul taught, okay?

And so He goes on to say. as also in all of his epistles, Speaking of them of these things in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable, Rest as they do also with other Scriptures unto the d Unto their own destruction.

Now that word. rest there, it means to distort. It means to distort.

Okay. So he's saying here That there's going to be Those that come and they distort the scriptures, trying to twist. or spin them to make them appear to mean what they want to believe. Uh mm-hmm. I remember uh I I A sitting in a a McDonalds out there in the Youngstown area with a g uh with a number of pastors is a bunch of us we Uh We have we were putting on I'm trying to remember.

I think it was a UBF conference. There was going to be a big conference out in that area. And, um, So while we're in there This guy comes in. and he walks up to me and he says you're exactly who I've been looking for. He says, You're the guy that can help me.

Ice as well. What do you need help with? and he says, Get in this book in the prisons out here He said Uh they won't let me bring it in. And it was Rick Warren's purpose driven Life Book I said, you don't want to bring that in, you want to throw that thing away. Hmm.

I said, first of all, and he said, Why? He said, It's filled with Scripture. I said, It's filled with Child. Whether Deception It's filled with deception from cover to cover. You know, if when I first started reading the book, I said, Well, this is an error, this is an error, and then it dawned on me.

They're not errors at all. These are very cleverly crafted deception. It was very cleverly crafted. And he used, like I said, eleven different Perversions of the Bible He used 11 different perversions of the Bible to say, here's what he said. He had to use, in his own words, eleven different perversions of the Bible.

He he called them versions, not perversion. to say what he wanted to say. What's There's two problems with that with that. What what are the two problems? Um Well, you're you're You're trying to You're trying to fit the scripture into what you want it to be as opposed to what it is.

First of all, A preacher is supposed to be preaching what God has said, not what he wanted to say. It's what God has given him. Yeah. These are Perversions of the scripture, they twist and they spin and they take from and they add to.

Okay. So this guy Yeah. And I would said I can show you here. I can show you. Uh Yeah.

deception after deception after deception here. And This guy actually put his hand over his ears. He put his hands over his ears. And he says, I will not receive this. I will not receive what you are saying.

He said, I know what I want to believe. And I said, That's your problem.

Okay, you're supposed to believe what God's word, the Bible, teaches, and not what it is with your preconceived notions, what you want to believe. And he got very upset with me, okay? But he got the truth.

Now So Paul goes on to say Here Um Well As we continue, he says As also in the epistle, speaking to them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand. which they are unlearned and unstable, rest Uh to their as also The other scriptures unto their own destruction. That's what this guy was doing. You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest you also being led away with error, of the wicked fall in from your steadfastness. And so In other words, he's telling you This is one of the things that we've always emphasized and doers of the Word Baptist Church, We put we put a a lot of emphasis on the accuracy of teaching the Word of God.

of rightly dividing the word of God. That's why our Bible studies in the morning are so interesting. You know, you know, during the sermon, you you know, you don't stop and ask questions during the sermon, but in the morning. At the Bible study, you can ask all the questions you want as you go through the Bible study. And uh that's what makes it so interesting.

Here. And so Yeah. Today Um You know, they failed to understand. The absoluteness In God's Word. See, there are those that just cannot grasp That there could be some things that are that are absolute and total, okay.

and it's entity.

Now, they don't understand the power To judge The power to reward, the power to condemn, the that is found in the unlimited authority. of God's immutable written word. Right here this this King James Bible here in front of me has unlimited authority. His authority is absolute. It's absolute.

And there there are people saying, I don't think that there's anything That's absolute, okay? But God God says that all things with Him are all things, and that he has no Uh No shortage of ability. His powers and his authority is absolute. And so So very, very, very, very few of the world's population out there, Kitty. have even the smallest, the very smallest inkling of understanding of the reality that Heaven And see, and this is another thing that's it's hard for people in our society today to grasp.

is that heaven keeps a perfect record Of our every single thought, And all of our acts.

Now you say, How in the world could that possibly be? There's billions of people in this world. How in the world can can God? know what we think.

Well, he got his He has displayed that time and time in millions of ways in answered prayer, huh? Throughout all of creation. Yeah, and so And as a witness of his unlimited power, is all of the universe, huh? Yeah. And so Here As we go on.

Today There's Well, I'm going to take a look at the twisted thought. of the lost, those on the left, Now Think about this for a minute, okay? They're the apostate church out there, the apostate church, the world, the national council of churches. They have Bibles, even in Most of the uh perversions It tells you in Matthew chapter twenty five that those that turn to the left will be bound and cast into a lake of fire. Very, very clearly.

I mean, there's no stuttering. At all. There's no stutter at all.

Now, one of the the n the newest sound bites that that's come out from those on the left is There is no enemy to the left. In other words, you can't go too far to the left. Ha ha ha.

So The Bible clearly teaches Kenny clearly teaches Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God Always. And Uh Failure to resist tyranny is always disobedience to God.

Now In disobedience to God, There is Nothing but dishonor And that applies in ignorance and apathy. That would be you know, when it comes to this Midterms election? People as Christians have an obligation An obligation to Go out. and vote for People That are righteous or morally those that are more morally in line with God's Word in the Bible. You know, it's not a suggestion.

They have an obligation. To do it. And because if they don't, they're not resistant tyranny, are they? No. And so if they say, Well, I'm not going to vote in the midterms, they're voting, aren't they?

Yeah. Yeah. So when you take him, you look at the the twisted thought of the lost. For example, Okay. Folks, for example, when it comes to abortion, Here Those on the left say abortion is a woman's constitutional right.

That's a lie. That's a lie told by liars. That's a lie from the pit of hell. Here's what God's word, the Bible, says about abortion.

Well, the very first command that God gave men was to be fruitful and multiply. But God gave us five points of divine human government, And out of that five the third point was the most important of of them. Because the point number three Was the in Total purpose. The entire purpose of of divine human government was to preserve the image of God that being man. That was the entire purpose.

No. What God's word, what God teaches about abortion. is that if you commit that horrible sin, And you transgress, that's a transgression of God's dominion. First of all, you deserve to die, and unrepentant, you deserve to go and burn in hell. That's what God teaches.

That's what God teaches. Very clearly. Just like In Matthew twenty four, or Matthew twenty five rather, He teaches that those on the left that move to the left Will be bound and cast into the lake of fire.

Now, those on the left, United Church of Christ. The Episcopal Um They All those liberal World and National Council of Churches have Bibles, and in that Bible it tells them. And yet what do they do? They continue to stay and they move to the left. They defy the word of God.

when it comes to the Bible. Their idea with the Bible is, well, listen. If the Bible doesn't say what you want want it to say, There's over 200 perversions of the out there. You can pretty much get one of the perversions. uh and say, Well, this is what I want to believe, Will.

The problem With Doing what you want to believe is you're going to be judged. on obedience to what God has called, what God has written. to God's laws. Yeah, just just because you Just because you found a different version that allows you to do what You want to do doesn't change the fact that that's not what God said. Yeah, well, you see here there are people out there who become so foolish, they become so deranged.

Uh they've been given over whatever they they actually believe that. They actually believe that, see? That Wh what about communism? Mm-hmm. You know?

They'll say, well You have it right there in the Bible. Look over the book of Acts. No, that was communalism. Communalism and Communism's two different things. The difference is Uh Kenny.

It's with communalism. You and I take what we have and we share with other Christians. We take Ours, okay. With communism. The government takes it away from us and gives it to whoever it wants.

Um That's why Margaret Thatcher said in her famous speech that socialism's fine until you run out of other people's money. Yeah. Okay. What about Uh What about sodomy? What about sodomy?

The Bible The very first time the word Abomination was used was used to describe the horrible sin of sodomy. And Sodomites four times were referred to as dogs in the Bible. King David told his men, Not to touch a sodomite with their hands. But see, in our society today, You know, I listen s you know to Spectrum One news because of the weather on on the Thinns. And I 'cause I'll know right when they're going to be talking about the weather.

But when I look over there, you've got uh some of these younger people there. Not only do you get the impression, that they approve of LGBTQ As a lifestyle, But the That they approve of it as a preferred lifestyle. I get the opinion. Yeah, that that you know, that station is far, far left. And I'm amazed how Some of those women could be wearing a necklace with A cross wearing a cross necklace, And be in favor of a woman's right to kill her baby.

Discussion. And then it comes to today There's a The ACLU has two Things that they want to pass, legislation. They want to pass legislation to legalize. Two sins. Do you know what those two sins are?

Um Bestiality and pedophilia. No, it's pedophilia. and prostitution. Oh, okay. They they want to legalize um They'll they'll go to bestiality later probably, you know.

If it's a sin they've got to go for it. And so Here And now the other thing, again, it's with this transgender. Do you think God makes a mistake? No. You're born a you're born a boy or a girl, right?

And that's what you should say. God chosen. It's already been, the decision's been made. It was never yours to begin with. Right.

And so Anyhow Here, you know God says that those on the left will be cast into the lake of fire, He tells you in Ecclesiastics Tend too, that a wise man will turn towards the right, but a fool will turn towards the left. Yeah. The Bible remembered the very first time Jesus came and preached, and same with John the Baptist and all, They preached repentance, repentance, right? Today you've got that the whole word of faith movement preaches that Repentance is not even necessary for salvation.

Okay. And so Not only do they want you out there sitting, but they don't want you to even be sorry about it. Right, absolutely.

So So, folks out there listening to you, by God's grace, if you're holding to the Word of God. uh literally holding to the word of God. And you don't hold to the traditions of men, but you're holding to the traditions of the apostles. God bless ya.

Okay. And he will. He will nest obedience But it's kinda like we're living in a world That's That's that the people are walking around in a fog.

Now the answers have literally spelled out as right there in front of them. You got it. In The inerrant word of God, the inerrant and they say well there's There's nothing that's inerrant.

Well, God says no, wait a minute, His word is inerrant. Mm-hmm. And they said, well Uh there's there's a There's mistakes in the Bible. There's And well where, okay? You see, God, here's what God said.

God said that He was going to get His word, His truth, to us. Perfectly.

Okay, he said he would make that available.

Now let me ask you a question, Kenny. Is God able to do what he says he'll do? Yeah. Actually, he actually is.

So, and has he done what he said he would do? Every time.

Okay, there you go, folks. It's that simple. I know we're up to it up to against the clock, aren't we?

Okay, so I want to take this time to thank all you folks out there for being with us, for supporting us over the years. And for being with us here on these Sunday night Bible studies. And as we come towards the end of the program tonight. As we say, as we always say, God bless. And good night.
