And then You know He calls himself the class behind the glass.
So sounds sounds a little arrogant to me. But he's our faithful producer. Style. You've been reading my diary again?
Alrighty. One thing, I'll tell you one thing. She'll never tolerate and that's people that talk a lot. When that is little Lisa. Good evening, everyone.
Yeah. All right. Why are you guys laughing? All right, there you go.
Now. He's He's not just an elder. He's our mighty elder, elder Randall Barkley. Amen. All I can say is, our God is a mighty God.
Amen. Already here, he's a man of man of great, great stature. He is a man that has been around and and stood his ground. Held officers done the right thing, even When it costs him, and that is Pastor Richard Lewis. Welcome, everyone.
Glad to be here.
Alright, and tonight is Pledge week. We've got Less than four hours to raise. We still have to raise a lot of money, less than four hours. And uh with that, I want to Randall, would you would you pray would you open us and pray because We're going to need all the help we can get, and um so if you would do that, if you would petition. And and and folks out there, listen.
We would really appreciate if you would pray along with Randall tonight. You know, there's power in prayer. Much prayer, much power. And weak and we need much power, w much prayer, and much money to help us continue to bring you the voice of the Christian Resistance. Amen.
Amen. Amen. Well, Father God, we just come before you tonight, Lord God. And the first thing we want to say is we want to say thank you. We want to say thank you.
God, I'm reminded, Lord God, of the 10 lepers that you healed, Lord God. And When you touched them and you healed them, Lord God, you sent them on the way to show themselves to the priests. And as they went, there was one that recognized that. He had been healed and he also recognized that Uh, there was an area of gratitude that should be shown, and he just came back to say thank you. And so, Father, just as that one leper, Lord God, we come back to say thank you because how many times have you come through before, Lord God, to make sure that this station could remain on air?
How many times have you moved, Lord God? And, God, somehow, some way, it might have been tight, but the bills they were able to get paid. And so, we come to you tonight in faith, and we ask you, Lord God, to touch the hearts of your people. There's someone that is out there and they're saying, What can I do? What can I do to help?
And we want to remind you tonight, it's not in the amount you give, but it's in your heart. What do you want to give? And I'm reminded of that woman that gave two mites, Lord God. And your word says that she gave more than all, Lord God. And so, we just pray that some.
Someone's heart tonight would be touched, and that, God, they would do their part. You never asked them to do all, but you asked them to do their part, what they could do. And we pray and ask, Lord God, because you have certainly been so good to us. And so we ask that you would touch, Lord God, your people, because this is necessary. We know what we are up against.
The kingdom of God is suffering violence, and the violent have to take it by force. Force, we stand in faith tonight, as your word says, without faith, it is impossible to please you. And so, Father God, we just bring our faith to the table and we say, We know you have done it by experience time and time again. And we trust you, God, that in these next four hours, Lord God, that God, what we need will be met. We ask this in Jesus' name.
Amen. Thanks, Randy. I'm going to give the numbers out real quick. The um Credit card numbers are 888. Two eight one one one one zero Again, that's eight, eight, eight.
two eight one one one one zero The other number is eight eight eight six seven seven nine six seven three. That's eight, eight, eight. Six seven seven nine six seven three And one of the ladies Who who support us, God bless her. Uh Pledged last night, but somehow her name didn't get put on the board.
So we don't leave anybody behind.
So we want to say Maryland and Arkansas pledges one hundred dollars. Amen. And I'm going to follow Marilyn and start tonight off with $100.
Alright, but Randy put Randy down for a hundred. And then um There's a prayer request I want to read if I could. Go ahead, certainly. Absolutely.
Okay, there was a. gentlemen that had called in and asked for prayer, And we would just want to lift him up. He's Gary, and he, I guess he lives in Euclid, and he was asking for prayer for his health and his living situation. And we just right now, Lord, we just want to lift up Gary, and we just pray that your hand would be upon him. whatever the health problems is.
Uh we just would just pray that you would uh take care of him, heal him if it's uh for you to heal him miraculously or guide his doctors in order to have him uh being taken care of and uh be able to Uh walk normal and have his health restored. Also, whatever the living situation is, we just pray that you would just bless him and guide him. Uh just may Jesus Christ just touch his heart and bless him. From the top of his head to the soles of his feet, and let him know and feel your blessings upon him, Lord. And we just thank you so very much for hearing and answering our prayers.
In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen. Thank you there, Pastor Richard. Thank you. Anthony in Texas pledges 200.
Thank you, Anthony. All right, that number again, folks, is the credit card number is 888. two eight one one one one zero And the other number is eight eight eight six seven seven nine six seven three. The title of the message was from spiritual birth to spiritual blindness and Um As I was going through here this week, I was just amazed. You know, after all these years, Richard, every time.
Every single time I go to prepare a sermon, I learn something new. And I've been doing it for half a century, right?
Well, you know, that's so wonderful because God's Word is a living word, and it's always growing. But what's also wonderful is. Our circumstances change.
So, all of a sudden, a passage that we're very familiar with all of a sudden has kind of a new meaning because of something happening in our lives in that. And it's just wonderful. And like you said, you know, I put together sermons and I'll go back and read some of the old sermons. I go, oh, I could have put this in there now. Because that that's, you know, more a little bit more meat in the sermon and things.
So it's exciting the way God's word is. You can just grow and grow with it.
Well, you know, I was started t talking about the spiritual birth. then I realized in every single passage that and we went through a lot of them that we referred to the spiritual birth. And they're also referred to spiritual blindness in that passage.
So And of course, that I never had dawned on me before.
So every time you pick up the Word of God, it is continuously, it's the greatest source of knowledge and wisdom in existence, huh? And that's why we need to encourage people to continue to try to read through the Bible yearly or some kind of systematic method. Because every time you read it, something else is going to be revealed to you, some new understanding. Yeah. And that's also why we are led by the Spirit and the Lord Jesus.
Even after the temptation with Satan, he said, man doesn't live by bread alone. But by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. And so God is leading his people. When we lean into his spirit, he's leading us into all truth. Absolutely.
Let's start here. In uh 2 Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 17. Let's take it a verse at a time. Um Go ahead, Randy. All right, it says, Therefore, if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature.
Old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new. All right, so he's talking about the. Uh miracle of regeneration.
Okay. Being born again. and baptized by the Holy Spirit. And so the saying goes Born once, die twice. Born twice, die once.
Okay, now I mentioned this a couple times, I think, this week, but uh. I had a lady that told me That she was a Christian, but she wasn't a born-again Christian, somehow. And I said, Really? I said How can that be? I said.
Jesus said, You must be born again. Uh and if you're not born again, you're not you're not a Christian, are you? You know, that that's an interesting way you put that because that term years ago, it ki I don't know, people started using it seemed like years ago, you know, more so than other times. Oh, are you a born-again Christian or something? You know, they used to say reborn.
Reborn. Yeah. But the the thing is, that's really a d uh redundancy because if you're a Christian, you're born again, and if you're born again, then you're a Christian.
So Are you a Christian? You if you're a Christian, you have to be born again. Yeah. I don't know where they get the trying to slice it or separate it.
Well, it's it's kinda like saying, uh I'm a male, but I'm not a man, right? But of course, nowadays nowadays that uh you know, strange things are happening out there nowadays, but you've got a lot of judges that can't answer that, uh, you know, the genders and all of that. Oh, my gosh. Is a man a man? Is a woman a woman?
I that's prophetic. Yeah. Can a can a man have a baby? I mean Well, you know, God is not the author of confusion and here You notice something with all of these shootings lately. It's been by these trans things, okay?
And it's it's been all except for with one. All but one were males. Yeah. wearing dresses thinking they were women. One of them was a woman thinking she was a man, okay?
Yeah. But um you know, God's not the author of confusion, right? No. No, no, um and it's it's very obvious. Yeah, or pick 'em up by their ankle and you figure it out real quick.
Well, God never made mistakes, did He, He didn't have, you know, and here, again, for some reason, all of a sudden. You know, all of my life growing up, until the last, I don't know, what, 20 years, we never had any of those things, you know? Yeah. We only had two genders. Nobody argued about it.
You know, when we were growing up. If somebody was talking like that, it would have been like, Are you, what do you take you and lock you up and put you in a white curve? Yeah, that's right. Padded room. All righty.
Let's go to verse uh verse eighteen, Richard. And all things are of God. who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and have given to us The Ministry of Reconciliation.
Well, so God has reconciled us to Himself. But the problem of it is, man hasn't been reconciled to God.
Okay, and so. That's where here The Ministry of Reconciliation. That's Our ministry is to what is to witness. It's called the Great Commission, isn't it? That's right.
That's right. And to get people to reconcile to God, huh? To wit that God was in Christ. Reconcile the world unto himself, But in putting their trespassings unto them not imputing or not imputing their their trespassings unto him and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we as ambassadors for Christ as though God did beseech you By us we pray in Christ's stead be you reconciled.
So what is the duty of an ambassador? That decl that would be to declare their who they're representing. Yeah, that what that country we stand for, what our country stands as an ambassador.
So we go and we tell folks what our God stands for, huh? Absolutely.
And what our God stands for is what we stand for, huh? For he hath made himself to be sinned for us who knew no sin That we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Now, it's an interesting thing. Because Christ shed His blood. For all of the sins of mankind, Christ shed his blood for all the sins of mankind, but he did not die. for all of mankind. People will say, well, Christ died for everyone.
No. Had Christ died for everyone, everyone would have been saved.
Okay, God doesn't make mistakes, He's never failed, right? Although the Pope thinks he's failed, the Pope said he's not. Humanly speaking, he failed at Calvary. Boy, did the Pope get that one wrong, right? Yeah.
He tells you in Romans chapter eight, in fact, that Uh exactly who he died for now. He died for those. Who his blood was applied to, and his blood was applied to those. That did what? Trusted in him believed in him repented and called upon him.
Now, did God know before the foundations of the earth, before we were even born? Did he know who we were and did he know? whether or not we would receive him or reject him. God knows everything. Sure.
God knows uh Past, present, and future.
So Ephesians 1 and 2, he says, We were predestined, God predestined us. He didn't he didn't say well. I'm going to send this one to heaven and this one to hell and this one to heaven and this one to hell. He gave us a free will. But he knew exactly ahead of time how how we would choose, right?
Yeah. And uh and so Is God a just and holy God? Absolutely.
Is He merciful? Absolutely.
And so he gave us did God give us adequate or more than adequate opportunity To call upon his name? Yes, that's right. Absolutely.
So what about these people? that never heard the gospel preached. I mean people that lived some place in a far jungle or in a hardcore communist country, They've never heard the gospel preached Uh does God have a means by which He identifies himself to every single man, woman and child in this world who Did he put it so he's the he's the light? Yeah, the c the creation itself, uh Romans uh tells us very clearly that you can see that uh God is in nature itself, in in the creation. You cannot uh even live no matter Whether somebody's preaching to you or not, and not see that there is a being a lot bigger than you.
that uh made all this happen. Mm-hmm.
Alrighty, so let me ask you this. Uh Does everybody have a conscience? Yeah. Yeah. So what is a conscious?
Is does a conscious uh tell you right from wrong? It's supposed to, yes.
Okay, so now. If that's conscious is seared with a hot iron. I was getting ready to say, unless it's seared, yeah. And how does that happen? Uh I I would say through rejection, through hardness of heart.
You won't listen according to Proverbs. You won't listen to wisdom. You won't listen to instruction. Uh God speaks and He has many ways to speak. If you and I don't Although he he uses the foolishness of preaching.
Uh again, it's already given to us to know of his goodwill and his pleasure. All right, let me stop for just a minute. I want to say. Gene in Ohio pledges three hundred. And Aaron Aaron and Arlen, Arlen in Illinois pledges 50.
And Gala? In Texas pledges fifty. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Okay, so let me ask you this. Are there Uh people that Consider themselves great intellectuals, but they have high IQs. Um But have no common sense and are fools? Certainly.
So are are people who consider themselves to be great intellectuals. Are they do they have a greater tendency to reject God? Yeah, because they they they lean on their on their wisdom. And the Bible tells us that uh uh knowledge it it it it puffs up. And uh so many times those people, by way of what they think they know, It can block them.
It can also, I mean, you know, really cause like a blindness to kind of be there. But how can that be so simple? How to just, I have to put my trust in Jesus. No, there has to be. Uh the more difficult path, something that requires more work, you know.
It just and some of them are, it's Uh Yeah.
So, uh, you know, they don't want they don't want to think that somebody else is c being able to control them.
Okay, so now um are there people Like Bill Maher, like Bill Yates. who consider themselves to be intellectual giants, Um is it hard for them to reconcile to themselves that Their intelligence is is n is nothing compared to God's intelligence that That the the gap between God's God it says God's foolishness is greater than foolishness than all of man's wisdom.
So would you say that the the gap between God and man where it comes to knowledge Uh would be Greater than the gap between a man and a flea.
Well, I'll tell you what, these men that think they have all this knowledge, speak something into existence if you're so sharp. If you know so much, just speak it, speak a. A dog into existence or speak a car into existence, whatever you want to do. You can't do it. Yeah.
Yeah, but they say, well, how did you know? Because, um, You know, there's uh You have to realize if if There there's there's these brilliant sayings that people came up with, like For example, If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it still make a sound? Right. Absolutely.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, but here's the hard one, right? Oh, boy. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? That's real easy.
Yeah, if you've got answered that for a while. If you've read the first book in the Bible, you know the chicken had to come first.
So you have these sayings.
Well, there is one saying, though, that it takes you. little bit of an intellectual thought and that is um Why did the chicken cross the road? And the answer is. To prove to the possum it can be done. Especially out where I live.
You you got you got P up Paid with possums out there in the roads. Anyhow. A lot of possums getting hit. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I mean And you kind of feel sorry for him 'cause You know They're stupid.
I mean The possum y you slow down and they'll be running out of your way and they'll turn around and run back towards the light. Not smart. I got to tell you this. For the listeners, I live in the city. I live right in Cleveland.
You were in the country until we threw you out. No, he did. Yeah, and Pastor Sanders is out there with a lot of nature there. A lot of possums. Yeah.
But. This morning. I opened my window in the bedroom, the shade. And there's a skunk. In the light, running around in the yard.
Oh boy. And I'm going, you know, they generally only come out at night. And I s I thought You know, that that's very unusual, especially I'm in the city, you know. Then I'd look out the back window. Uh and I see a possum.
on the top of the fence, cr goin' across the top of the fence. I'm going, what is this? Oh but probably what has happened is because of the snow melting, their dens got we too wet and they're out of their their dens and that Uh, and in the daylight, because normally you only see those at them at night. Yeah, I've noticed that a lot out there widely, same thing. Yeah, maybe you're just starting the worst zoo I've ever heard of.
That's true. Maybe God's sending me two of everything. What am I supposed to do? Oh, yeah, that's amazing. I got to build an ark already.
Well, you know what? We'll be back after this. Big John He was born of Elizabeth, the son of Zechariah, sent by God the Father to proclaim the Messiah. He was as bold as a lion. He knew no fear.
An awesome manner. Coat up camel hair. Big jump. Big job. Big Baptist, John.
Big John. In the wilderness of Judea, you could hear him there. He was preaching repentance. It was very loud and clear. O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee.
the wrath to come. Better listen, Pharisee. He preached to the sinner, the thief, and the liar. Only one way out of that burning lake of fire. The truth thundered forth from this righteous man, and those that believed found the promised land.
Beach. Yeah. Big Baptist John. Big John. Chosen by the Father to baptize the Son, it was there in the Jordan.
This awesome thing was done. The Holy Ghost descended as if it were a dove. A mighty voice thundered from heaven above. This is my son in whom I am well pleased. John his friend, none greater than he.
He told all the people about God the Son. He never quit preaching until the job was done. Big job. Big Baptist John. Big jump.
Now, two thousand years later, the story is still being told. how he was thrown into prison for being so bold. He was martyred for God. To him it was an honor. Mm-hmm.
He earned himself a mansion, heaven way out yonder, big job.
Now John's enemies, they perished in his shame, but John took his place in the saints' hall of fame.
Now in heaven above the angels understood when John preached repentance, he sure did it good. Baptist John. Big John Now, there's one thing John wants you to know. It's a fearful matter to lose your own soul. To call upon the Lord.
while you still can. and better take the advice of this mighty righteous man. Big child. Big job. Big Baptist John.
B John. Big Baptist John. Big tap test, challenge. B Big Baptist John. Um Big Baptist John.
Alrighty, we are back. And the phone lines are open at eight eight eight. two eight one one one one zero When I get to heaven I want to look that guy up, Big Baptist John, and Uh he sounds like a He sounds like the kind of guys that we need in this ministry. Amen. 888-677-9673.
We believe in prayer here. We really do believe in prayer. All day and every day. I mean, we believe two things. One, Pray without ceasing and staying in the Word of God.
Yes, Richard, would you pray? Because. We only have well? We have less than four hours. left to uh raise enough money to stay on for a whole month.
Okay, dear Heavenly Father, and b as I start this prayer, when we pray and when Randall prayed and when whenever we pray, folks out there, please pray with us.
Okay, it's it's the power of prayer. And when when we're praying, We want you to be able to say, thus saith the Lord, or amen, and agree with that prayer.
So we need everybody to lift up. We word the prayer because we're on the air, but we want you to follow along and support that. And that's where the power of prayer comes in. And so let's just go to God right now for this program and to keep it on the air. Dear Heavenly Father, we come before thy throne right now.
to ask that you would just uh Draw those people that can afford it, that are able to support this program and believe in the program. uh that they would uh be able to call in And uh Uh make that commitment to uh donate to the program to be able to keep it on the air. Pastor Sanders has been doing this for Over fifty years. A long time and uh He's been uh totally supported by the listeners. And it's so important to To not have to go into trying to get people to try to control your program by.
paying for the program and then telling you what you're gonna say. He's had that freedom not to be able to Do that, and to allow the listeners to support them, and so we would just ask right now. For those that are able to call in and make a pledge, make a commitment to. Donate. Uh please do that.
We want to we want to keep the program on all the stations all around the country. Uh it's well well spread out and uh You know, we always talk about if everybody could just donate a little bit, if everybody that was listening donated a small amount, there would be plenty. But it doesn't work that way.
So, those that can, whatever you can donate, and there's been some very generous people through the years and through the times here, and we would just ask for that you would touch their hearts and draw them and be able to allow them to contribute and keep this program on the air. And we just thank you, Lord. And please, we just agree with you and and just agree with this prayer, Lord, and ask you to Please bless this program. In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen.
Thank you, Richard. Nancy in Wisconsin pledges. 50. All right, nasty. John in Ohio pledges 50, and Mark in Ohio pledges 50.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you, thank you.
Alrighty. losing their grip. Obama so's distraught For first Trump win He literally broke down and cried in front of White House staff. Citing evidence from hours of audio and video compelled by Columbia University, about the Presidential administration of Barack Obama. An investigative reporter has revealed That Democrat who trush trashed Hillary Clinton for his party's nomination Uh no, yeah.

Now, I can see why Obama broke down and cried. You don't think. That Obama Um The fears about uh Uh Operation Arctic Frost that he broke.

And Trump has got his people going after it piece by piece, little by little, bit by bit. and I know a lot of us, including myself, wished it would be would move faster. But um It is moving and and we'll we'll see what happens there.
You had an article there, Randy? Yes, sir. This is The People's Pardon. Radical leftists concoct. strategy to let anti-ICE agitators get off scot free.
It says a Minnesota activist group encouraging protests against immigration enforcement will host a training to teach attendees to let guilty criminals walk. Well, you know uh again They're actually giving classes and workshops. And and how Uh you know, to come against our law enforcement, okay? Uh you know, what what they're doing and like AOC is is giving Workshops on treason. It's treason, is what they're doing. Yeah.
How could. As far as uh When somebody would do that, if they're s in a political office, how is it not that they would be immediately removed from that office, let alone prosecuted? But how could you be a a congressperson? And go totally against the laws of the country that you're representing. And not be removed from office.
You would think so. And of course. Um You know. I I would I would think that it would be up to the D O J to do that, okay? But um I would think they'd have the right to do that.
I how well not just the right, the duty. Yeah, exactly. And I know that um like on on Omar, they pulled her off all of her committees. because they don't believe that she has a a a clearance that security clearance or you know these are people Look. You've got uh that boy toy, Fang Fang's boy toy.
What's his name? the one it was sleeping with a Chinese spy. Yeah. Oh, I'm having You had I I mean here The Democratic Communist Party, these congresspeople, just think about this. the caliber the caliber of these people in Congress out there today.
Profanity Uh Threatening to kill the President of the United States. I mean, how many times you've got Joshua uh You know, Mad Maxine brother. Mad Maxine How many times she said, I'm gonna take him out. I'm gonna take Trump out Okay You you've got time after time after time. And so, anyhow, I think it was Sawwell or whatever, however you pronounce it.

And they're just setting in other words it's like is giving them the opportunity. And of course, we don't know what kind of negotiations and talks have been going on under the scene.
But I kinda have a guess that Trump is saying look for all of their top brass to surrender right now to surrender We'll give you leave the country, get out while you can. Or if you don't, if you stay there, because they've killed. What was the last count about forty thousand? Iranians, about forty thousand, were gunned out in the streets. They want to do some trade. uh all of a sudden with Trump, if he pulls takes away the tariffs, they claim they'll they're willing to do fourteen trillion dollars in trade and anything because Russia is hurting big time right now.
But the people in Iran They're waiting and Again You know, it's not like it used to be, you know, like what happened in World War II. Vietnam and that, I mean, all the cities were were destroyed in that. you know, h here today they they just mark the military targets are the ones that are more strategic. and they take them out. And, uh, often Like they did with the nuclear power plants.
They give them an opportunity to leave. For the people to get out, you know, they're going to be going. They believe no. When when Trump says we're gonna you know, you you better leave, they they they know to leave now, don't they? Yeah.
So Yeah, as as long as there are surgical strikes if they're gonna if they're gonna have to do that. But I don't think uh Because of their religious beliefs and that, that they're ever going to back down truly. They may say they're going to back down, but. They're so uh They're so Encamped in their beliefs that I don't see that it's gonna the only thing that's gonna happen is we're We're probably going to have to go in there.
Well, you know, here in rev in uh Iran and Tehran. They they had Revival. they had r a huge crowd and they say over One thousand people recorded. Gave their heart to the Lord Jesus Christ on one day in Tehran. And we need to remember that, too, is Christianity is not.
An American. Religion. It's not only in America, it's all over the world. And so when we're talking about going into some of these other countries and that, there's a lot of Christians in there that are getting killed over this. There's brothers and sisters in Christ that are dying over these incidences.
And yet I know they do surgical strikes and everything, but uh You know, we're killing some of our brothers and sisters in that process, you know.
Well, they they inter intervened there in Nigeria. Where they were killing off the Muslims, were killing off the Christians in they're killing Christians in Jerusalem. You know, uh So, I mean, th it this is all over.
Alrighty. The numbers are eight eight eight. Two eight one One one one zero or 888-677-9673. You have an article there, Randy. Yes, sir.
It says judge rules. state must end slavery for its prison population.
Some century and a half after slavery mostly ended across the rest of the United States, a federal judge now is ordering Colorado to end its own state slavery program. It involves forcing inmates in the state prison system to work. A report from KMGH-TV in Denver explains the case already is four years old without appeals that could be forthcoming. The ruling from Denver District Court Sarah Wallace confirmed the Colorado Department of Corrections and Governor Jared Paulus. Violated the state constitution by forcing prisoners to work, effectively creating a slavery society.
State officials had claimed in court filings that the loss of privileges as a consequence for declining work did not amount to involuntary servitude. The state Constitution, which previously had allowed slavery or involuntarily servitude as punishment for crime, was amended in twenty eighteen to delete the provision regarding punishment for crime. But the state statutes Require that inmates shall participate in a rehabilitation and work program. At the time, Colorado was one of about a dozen states where state constitutions technically still allowed involuntary servitude as a form of criminal punishment. The judge agreed with the plaintiffs ruling the state and CDOC are violating the Colorado Constitution.
All right, let me let me jump in because uh first of all here, a lot of people who have good intentions, get on the wrong side of this issue. Look at that young guy in the other room in there.
Now If we were to ask him about his opinion about should inmates be forced to work I almost guaranteed we get the wrong answer.
Well, let's ask you. All right, go ahead. I don't think you consider it forced to work. They're serving time and they have a commissary that most prisons allocate funds to for said work. Very minimal, but it's still not slavery.
You once you go to prison and you're a convicted felon especially, Rights get taken back from you. Voting rights, gun ownership rights, a lot of freedoms in terms of speech and press do, too. This is just part of that. This isn't slavery. You're doing your time.
Should I should I set the whip or snapper straight?
Okay, first of all. Let me just say this. You go to prison as punishment, not to be punished. You go there to as punishment. not to be punished.
Now, Uh here in in the prison all the prison just about all of them of the states They have it where you can sign up. They have jobs and the inmates will will, you know, compete over certain jobs. Most all of the inmates in there would like to get A job, you know, and so they used to get, I don't know what it is today, but I remember it used to be like 18 cents an hour they would get paid. Um out there at Chillicothe for a while, they what they did is the inmates wired trucks. They learned a trait.
Now it was voluntary. You had to volunteer. You had to put your name in. Hope you got that. Others would learn how to make shoes, which is You know, that's a good trait, you know, being um And so that's the way it's supposed to be.
The jobs are there. One of the things that The inmates like most of all is training those dogs, those uh Uh, guide dogs. Yeah. That is one of the the the inmates love getting, but again, Those jobs are very few and in between, and they should be more, okay? Then they are.
They should keep the um The uh Inmates busy with with jobs like that. You know, uh years ago there was a book uh written called Texas Tough. And it was about what Texas did right after the Civil War and the freedom of the slaves. And it was talking about how t what Texas did was uh They lost all that slave labor in the plantations and everything.
So the prisons, what they would do would be find any reason to. uh put a black person in prison. and uh jaywalking, whatever, they'd prison and then they'd try to violate them while they were in prison so that they're they were maybe put in for six months and all of a sudden they end up serving years of time. And they were taking those prisoners and then putting them on plantations, and they were getting paid by the plantations to have the labor. and the prisoners were doing the labor.
So Uh yeah, there's a fine line there. That that is certainly not right and the way they even uh set up the the poor black people there uh to to stay in prison so long For incidental crimes is ridiculous. But at the same time, what you're talking about, Pastor Sanders, is. The prisoners need something to do. Absolutely.
And you know, uh the worst thing you can do is just yes, they're not supposed to be punished while they're they're being they're taken out of society. That's their punishment. But Okay. They don't need to sit there idle either. They need to be doing something.
Absolutely.
So, you know, if they're not going to school, if they're not going for their GED or learning English, ESL, or whatever it may be, they should be trying to learn a trade or something to be able to better themselves. And that's one of the biggest problems with the recidivism in prisons is. These guys get out. And they don't know anything. They were drug dealers.
Or whatever, that living on the streets are just crime all the time, and now they're supposed to walk straight and they can't get jobs 'cause they're ex-cons.
Well I've we had Uh so many. Kinds that have guys that have been in prison for so long, and I mean those that have done 30 years, you know, they're ruined. I'm right now two of my men who are they've both been in prison for 50 years, two brothers that they're should have been out a long, long time ago. They're being warehoused. In in the state of Ohio Uh this is really bad.
Okay. They're keeping men in prison, the old old law inmates. Keep the parole board going. The parole board, they're the ones that should be in prison. And I let 'em know that there very clearly too.
Yeah. For what they've done here. This is is wrong in Ohio. These are Uh criminals and by the way About twenty percent, about one in five of those That go to prison are not guilty of the crimes they're senten they're sentenced with. And uh that's the reality.
But uh And so, in other words, today, if you are a hardened criminal, if you're a rapist or a murderer, and you're in a city like New York or Chicago. Um you're gonna get out you you're gonna get out. They would much rather put a home schooler or a pro-lifer in prison in in those in the corrupt corrupt Run cities out there today.
Well, the problem with our justice system today is. If you have enough money, you won't go to prison. If you're If you hardly have any money, no matter what you've done, it's a good chance you'll do some prison time. Right. It's, you know.
Whether or not you're convicted has very little to do with whether or not you're guilty or innocent today. That's reality. I've seen you.
Well, you and I know from experience. And so Anyhow, I think it was good seeing President Trump.
Well, he had already appointed her, I believe her name. Yeah, Alice Marie. Was the prison czar. She had spent 22 years in prison with 28 more years to go, and Trump had pardoned her. And it was something in the black history.
uh recognition where um You know, he he has her now, but they they had actually given him people from Harvard, Yale and different places and he chose her. And and uh there's been like over forty thousand people that have been okay, we're running up against the clock. There's a lady right now to it. in Colorado. That's in prison for nine years for doing her job.
And that governor of Colorado and that Supreme Court of Colorado should be in prison. That's right. We're coming up to a break. We'll be back right after this with a whole lot more.
