And he's got a sense of humor. Good thing. That's my co host, Kenny. Good evening, Pastor. You ready to roll tonight, Ken?
Always. Boy, there's boy, there's a lot of good good stuff here in this God's Word, the Bible, huh? And the title of the message tonight was John the Baptist in a real sense. And we're going to take a look at see what that means here. And tonight You know The Barton stated that John the Baptist was a type of the Well, in a real sense, the first pastor of the first congregation Um, he was the A preacher.
Perfect. Uh Christian preacher, if you will, could be called the first Christian. and he was also the first Murder in the church. Yeah.
So people say, well, wait a minute. little bit confused and all that because Gee, you know, John has was long dead before A Jesus ever uttered those Words that l That last until infamy, and that is it is finished. When he said that in the cross Then the veil of the temple was rent, And Here When he had given up the ghost. The Fifth dispensation Went into the Sixty-ninth week Not the law. went on to hold.
It went on to hold. And what started then was the bridge between The Old Testament and the New Testament was the book of Acts and We see the start of that bridge, and then we see. Uh Here at that very time The sixth dispensation, the church age or the age of grace started. And so John was already gone during what we call the church age. But we're going to take a look at at this say how can You say that.
Well, we're saying in a very real sense, we're not saying literally. But At the same time, Spiritually And we'll take a look at at how that was done. And so We start tonight. In Isaiah chapter 40. with the prophecy of Isaiah.
Verses uh uh one through five And he says Coffrate ye Comfort ye, my people. With your God. speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem They cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished. that her iniquity is pardoned, For the hath received the Lord. the hand a double for all her sins.
And so He goes on to say Now the voice of him that crieth. In the wilderness prepare ye the way of the LORD Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.
Now This prophecy of Isaiah was fulfilled some over more than seven hundred years later, When John the Baptist came uh To prepare the way for the Lord. He goes on to say. Every valley should be exalted. And every mountain and every hill shall be made low. And The crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places Plain.
Okay. One of the things we know about the Bible is not in chronological order, is it? No. And if you try to study it in chronological order, you kinda end up with a dog's breakfast of of doctrine, wouldn't you? I mean, everything in there.
And so Here now he jumps ahead I mean, he's jumping way ahead. over two thousand years ahead. And he's talking about a time during that tribulation period. That's when. The Lord is going to do this.
Well He changes the earth's surface And uh You know, and again that takes place During the Sixty-ninth week.
Well, no, actually Uh It's it's gonna be yellow. The sixty-ninth week. And so here.
Well Actually, the seventieth week. Is what? It's the tribulation period, huh?
Okay. And so Then he goes on to say And the glory of the Lord shall be prevailed. Revealed in all the flesh Shall we see together? For the mouth of the Lord has spoken so He's saying that when all of the sinners are consumed off the face of the earth, The Lord will be Revealed And is great power and glory. And so We see that As a The first Prophecy of John the Baptist.
And then we go over to To Luke chapter 1. And in Luke chapter 1, We read. Verses eleven through seventeen. And there appeared unto him an angel of the LORD. standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
And when Zachariah saw him, He was troubled. and fear fell upon him. Why do you think Zachariah was so troubled when he saw the angel of the Lord standing there? 'Cause no one was supposed to be there. That's right.
He was the only one that was supposed to be in there, huh? Yeah.
Now If he was Not of someone of significance or power. Uh He wouldn't have lasted long at all. He would have been He would have been taken down, but here he's standing there.
So that had to tell Zachariah This is a very important person, huh? Yeah, something big is going on. Yeah.
And the angel, that was Gabriel. said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias. for thy prayers is heard, And thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee's son, and thou shalt call his name John.
So here We see now. We know what Zacharias had been praying for, right? He was praying for his son.
Now, he was an old man at this time, right? He was an old-timer. And. I guess then they were saying he was like at least in his eighties. And Um what in the world do you think made him think?
that at this time he was going to have a son. And why would it be so important For a guy his age. Uh to to now have a son by the time the the the the boy was old enough to go fishing with, Now Zachariah would be pushing the century, huh? Yeah.
Well then it wasn't getting any younger. Right.
Well, there was two things. What in that Eastern culture what was thought of a man especially one who was a a priest, who didn't have any children. Uh that they were cursed somehow. Yeah.
That uh they were not favored of God, huh? And so Well what about The woman whose womb had been closed, what what was thought of her at that time? Yeah, it's the same that she was not favored by God and cursed. She was cursed of God, yeah. And so here now Zachariah wanted to take away the reproach, especially for his wife, huh?
Mhm. He goes on. And say But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias, for thy prayers are heard, and they, thy wife Elizabeth, shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John, Now that had to be a shocker. Why would that, when he says, you're going to name this baby son? I mean, all of a sudden.
He's getting this news. His wife, who's old, who's way up in her years, she's gonna have a baby when she's way beyond Uh that time And now You you're gonna name this baby John? And that in itself was a shocker. Why would that in itself be a shocker? Do you think that?
Was it tradition that they named the child after the father? Yeah.
Okay. Yeah.
And so here And though shall have joy and gladness and many shall rejoice in his birth. For he shall be great in the sight. of the Lord. and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink, and he shall be Stills With the Holy Ghost. even from his mother's womb.
Okay. No. There's a lot of people that feel the the teacher John the Baptist. was a Nazarite. Why do you th where did that come from, do you think?
Um, I really don't know.
Well, Nazarites Cannot Um They could not ever touch alcohol at all. They had to be abstained from strong drink. completely Nazarites had could never cut their hair. They couldn't shave their beard. They could never touch anything dead.
And they can never cuss or use foul language.
Okay. And he goes on to say For he shall be great. In the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink, and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost even from his mother's womb. In all of history There were only two Men Two people that were filled with the Holy Ghost from the womb, Who do you think they were? John and Jesus.
Yeah, and they came together. They were cousins, weren't they? And they came together with that. And so he goes on. In as many of the children of Israel, shall return to the LORD their God.
And he shall go before him in the spirit and the power of Elias. And turn The hearts are the fathers to their children. and the disobedient to the Wisdom or the just And to make Ready. A people prepared for the Lord. And so here now Uh We're seeing that He was prophesied of Way more than eight eight hundred years before well, around eight hundred years before he was ever born.
And he was going to be a very great man, and he did turn out to be the world's greatest evangelist. He turned out to be the one who led more people. Through They Uh Prayers of repentance. Through the prayers of repentance, So let's go over now Uh to Matthew chapter three. I'm and I'm getting there.
In Matthew chapter three Verses one through six.
Now In those days came John the Baptist. Preaching in the wilderness of Judea. and saying, Repent ye For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Now, that's an interesting statement there. The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Do you know why? How many times that's in the New Testament? Mm-hmm.
And twice. 32 tons. It was way off. And do you know where where you find all thirty two times In the book of Matthew? Yep, in the book of Matthew, all thirty-two times.
That's amazing, isn't it? That is amazing. And some He goes on to say. And saying, Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. And this is he that was spoken of By the prophet Isaiah 6.
Same. the voice of one crying in the wilderness So What did Isaiah s uh Isaiah was talking about Elijah? having the spirit of Elijah, one that was Well Crying in the wilderness Prepare you the way of the Lord. and made his paths straight. rate.
And the same John had his ramnet Of camel hair. and a leather and a girdle about his loins, And his meat was locust. is wild honey.
Now here That John is an That's referred to It's being resourceful. Resourceful Uh being able to Oh.
Well, Being able to exist out there Or on these And he says this Then went out to John, to him to Jerusalem. And to all Judea into all the regions round about Jordan, And he was baptized of him in the Jordan, confessing. their sins.
Now, This is some really some interesting things here. Hi uh Some years ago I was doing Um I was putting together a message and the topic of Christophanes. And I and I was looking in I was studying different Christophanes and I was looking in Luke where we were re referring to When The angel of the Lord came, and spoke to the shepherds in the field. And as I studied that I noticed several things about this here, that made it that this was not just an angel, But this was a Christophany It was the Lord Jesus Christ himself. that was an that was announcing his own birth in Bethlehem a short ways away.
And you say, well How could that happen?
Well God is omnipresent, He's omnipresent. Yeah.
Oh, if Powers are unlimited. But how do we know that? I mean, how do we know that?
Well, That's where you look at all the facts. One of the things were talked about The angels in heaven the whole heaven lit up And the angels were seeking Glory to God. And Chicana glory, huh? lit up the whole sky with Shikana glory. No.
Two things, okay? Um Who are the angels allowed to worship? Only Only God. Only God, okay? Can angels worship other angels?
No. It doesn't end well for 'em if they do that, huh? We we saw we saw what happen before in that, right? And so So they're worshiping And then you only find Chicano Glory where? Uh when God is present?
Right.
You only find it w when God is present, okay. And so Here he come and he's literally announcing his own birth. As I was uh Going through that I had mentioned to an old friend of mine, Pastor Bruce Musselman, Pastor Musselman was a a real scholar, especially when it came to uh The King James Bible. and all the manuscripts and scriptures and and we did a number of programs together. And anyhow, I was discussing t with him what I was I had just written down And He never saw what I wrote down or anything.
But he almost, word for word, Almost Dana said exactly what I had just written down.
Now, When something like that happens, what do what what do we normally call that? Uh a lot of people would say that was a coincidence. Uh but we know better. We c I call it a confirmation. I think that that's how the Lord's speaking to you.
No. What got me preaching on this topic right here, Kenny? was that I had some pastors Say, you know. Uh are you sure about what you're saying about John the Baptist being uh the first pastor of the first church and and and I said, Well, What I'm telling you is what I'm telling you in the real sense he was in the spiritual way. And Now here.
is an amazing thing. Because Do you know who Henry Morris is? No. Henry Morris was a great Bible scholar And uh he has written Uh Uh uh tremendous amount of d of a Commentary. On the Bible.
And so I was looking through this and I almost fell out of my chair. Yeah.
when I read this because it was almost word for word, for what I had written down. And He goes on to say Uh Yet for some strange reason, John is almost ignored by modern uh believers in a very real sense. He was the first Christian.
Okay, so what did I say? I had said that in a real sense, Kate, in a spiritual sense. He see he goes on He was the first Christian witness He was the first Christian preacher. He was the first Christian prophet. and finally he was the first Christian martyr.
He was it he was the First To baptize Uh converts and could even have started the very first local church, says the disciples Of Christ were already largely organized and ministering together under John. before they Um We're instructed to follow Jesus.
Well, that's almost exactly word for word what I said. And I'm looking at this and I'm thinking I gotta, you know, this is confirmation right here. Hey, great minds think alike. Yeah.
And uh And that was amazing. And so here I want to go now Uh over to The Gospel of John. Chapter 1. And The Gospel of 1 to John chapter 1. Verses twenty two through thirty-six.
Then Said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them. Decenus What sayest thou of thyself? He said I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Make straight the way of the Lord.
And he said, said the prophet Isaiah, So here now Why did he say that to them, do you think? What what was that supposed to mean when he addressed that? Um well they were They were trying to see if he would say that he was Christ himself.
Well, when he said that, they should have known. They the uh prophecy of Isaiah and Isaiah chapter forty. Yeah.
They had that. They should have known that. These these are supposed to be Bible scholars of the Old Testament.
Okay. And then he goes on to say And they which were Scent were the Pharisees. Uh now did you know who the Pharisees were? Um, weren't they like the uh The high the highest Bible scholars or whatever of the day? No, the not Bible scholars so much they they were the lawyers and the judges.
Oh, okay. They were basically the judicial. And they asked him And said unto him, Why baptise thou, then, if thou be not the Christ nor Elijah Elijah nor Elijah neither the prophet.
Well When he came to say he was coming in the spirit of Elijah, not that he was Elijah. Where other places in Scripture do we see where they came in the spirit or something? I'm not sure. Judas came in the spirit of Antichrist. And G Nero Caesar.
came in the spirit of Antichrist.
Okay? And John answered them, saying, I baptize thee with water. But he That standeth But there standeth one Among you whom you know not, He is Is He it is. who coming after me Yes, yep. preferred before thee Whose shoes latch it I am not worthy to unloose.
These things were done in Bethlehem Beyond the Jordan Actually that was Bethab. I think it's a very good thing. where John was baptizing.
Okay, why do you think it it was like John was doing so much baptizing in the Jordan? Uh because there was probably a Big hub of people. round that area. No, it wasn't so much they had plenty of people, but it was water. that that w was uh in shortage.
so he had to go to where there were plenty of water. And why was a lot of water necessary? Because uh you got a lot of baptisms to do.
Well, it's because baptism The only baptism we see In the New Testament is by immersion. You don't see any baptism by infusion, or you don't see any baptism By sprinkling. No, no cases at all. Not any. Wouldn't that make you think that Those who baptize by infusion For Sprinklin are not doing it the right way.
Yeah, it doesn't sound like it. Yeah.
Yeah.
So John here, now he knows that his ministry. Uh was to Exalt Christ and that he would soon be diminished.
So here here you got John. And he came before his Lord and he He came and he says, I must uh Be diminished, and he must grow. In other words, How did Satan work with with God, his Creator? Um, I'm not sure. What do you mean?
Well, Satan, instead of. Coming to Announce Or To, as John the Baptist did when he referred to. Uh I that he wasn't worthy to even unlash his shoelaces he he came to he exalted his Lord Satan wanted to replace his Lord. Yeah, yeah. Satan had to be a Democrat.
Yeah.
It only makes sense. Yeah.
And they are so He goes on to say This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me, for he was before me, And I knew him not, but that he should be made manifest to Israel, Therefore I am come baptizing With the water.
Now I don't know. How do you explain that? He was cousins. He was cousins. How do you.
How can he say he didn't know him? Um I I I don't know, but maybe because James. The Lord our God? I don't It's not the I don't know.
Well He did know him as Messiah. You would have thought that he might have. You you ne never can tell what his mother said. Uh or his aunt had said But He goes on to say And John bear records saying, I saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove. and it abowed upon him, And I knew him not, but he that was set me to baptize with water.
The same said unto me, upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on him the same is which baptized with the Holy Ghost.
So He now he knew his cousin, but apparently at this point he had had not really known That he was Messiah. Yeah, until he saw that. Yeah.
And I saw and bear record that this is the Son of God. And so here now When when you when you become BORN AGAIN Uh What what does that mean to be born again? It means To be born from above born from above And so here He goes on to say. And again the next day After John stood and to his disciples, And looking upon Jesus, He walk. And he saith, Behold the Lamb of God.
And the two disciples Heard him. Speak. And they followed Jesus. And so here now Uh Uh once when He he was making some statements here and and if we look at verse thirty six real clear. And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of God Okay.
And here And the two disciples heard him, and speak and they followed Jesus And Jesus turned and saw them, following and saying to him, What Seek ye And they said unto him, Rabbi, which is to say, and being interpret master, where dwellest? And he said to them, Come and see And they came and they saw he dwelleth and abode with him that day for it was about tenth hour. And so here Uh when you when you're taking a look at this Yeah. A couple of things. pop up here, okay.
Um I mean, when it says two of his disciples, it's probable in light of Peter's statements in Acts. Chapter 121 through 22 Um after along with Yeah. What was soon made up Well After that, you know, it was soon to become the twelve disciples of Christ. had first been One baptized, trained, As John's disciples. Before he directed them to Christ.
So here you see. Again Uh It goes back to the real sense that John was the first shepherd, huh? Mm-hmm. And so Now I want to go Over here too. Uh Matthew Chapter eleven And in Matthew chapter eleven.
We read verses uh Starting with a verse Well, let's see Matthew chapter 11. I want to start with verse eleven. and then we'll read all the way over. to verse twenty four. Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women.
There hath not been a greater than John the Baptist, Notwithstanding, He that is the least in the kingdom of God And the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Okay, so now. John the Baptist was greater than Noah. He was greater than Abraham. He was greater than Moses. He was greater than King David, he was greater than Job, He was greater than Daniel.
Those were some pretty impressive people, weren't they? But Here But it was not as great Let me read that again. as even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than John.
So what do you think that means? Uh that means that that no man Could be greater than the least worthy in heaven. Uh Okay, so Those least worthy, who are they? How could that be? In in what sense are we talking about greatness, do you know?
I'm not sure. No you came. When we get to heaven, the saints in heaven, We have glorified bodies, huh? Mm-hmm. Now with with glorified bodies Is there power with those glorified bodies?
More more power than the angels, right? Uh Can they ever die? No. Kajandai? Uh on earth, yeah.
Well John John at that time did die, you know, shortly, okay. Um Well, your glorified bodies you can't get sick. Could could Johnny get sick? Yeah.
When you glorify bodies, you don't feel pain. Could John feel pain? Absolutely. You glorified bodies you You won't be held back by gravity, you'll be able to fly. Could John fly?
No. Hmm.
Okay, not that we're aware of. Right.
In your glorified bodies. Uh your intellect is going to be maximized. And so, in other words, we're going to have, remember, Scripture says when we get there, then we'll know all of these things. Of course you're going to have all of eternity t to learn.
Okay, but he's making a point that those in heaven they're Uh The the main thing about them is they have eternal life. And John as he was here, even though He was.
Well Filled with the Holy Ghost from the womb.
Okay, at this point he he still had to die. He still had to die before he could acquire all this power, huh? Yeah.
And that and that's what the The Lord here was making a point No. Again Uh remember It goes back to The dispensations And so he goes on and he says And from the The days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven. Violence. and the violence to take it by force. For all of the prophets And the wall prophesized into John.
And if you will receive it That The way it which was For to come That he had t He hath ears to hear, And let him hear.
Okay, now that's an interesting statement that he has ears to hear. And let him hear. Those those Those words here He that hath ears to hear Let him hear eight words. Um appears eight times in the Gospel. Eight times in the Gospel does that saying of Christ appear.
Those that have ears to hear, let him hear. But whereunto Shall I liken this generation it is like Under children Sitting in the markets and calling unto their fellows and saying, We have piped, Unto you And have not And you have not danced? We have mourned unto you, And you have not One minute.
So when he's saying we've piped you, what do you think it was meat he ta he was talking about? Um Probably the preachings. No, he played music. They played music. Uh to them And they were supposed to dance when they when they played this music.
I was thinking of it kind of metaphorically. Yeah, well, you probably You have a good point there. He goes on to say For John came neither eating nor drinking And they say He had a devil.
So the Son of Man comes eating and drinking and they Say behold A man Gluttonum. And A wine bibbler. A friend of publicans and sinners But wisdom Is justified of her children. And so They referred to the John the Baptist. Things haven't changed a whole lot today.
If you're preaching the gospel, if you refuse to compromise. and you steadfastly preached the gospel. How does the world react to you? Oh, they hate you. Yeah, they sure do.
They don't like to hear the gospel being preached, do they? No. And so here I want to go over to. Oh LARK CHAPTER SIX Mark chapter six. And in Mark chapter six.
You know, I've got this fly in here. This is a. in the studio here. In this fly He keeps he's he's he's baiting me. You know?
He's he's flying around and he'll land right on the page, right where I'm and and of course any movement at all he's gone. But he comes right back. And uh so annoying. When I think when I'll tell you, when I see a fly, I always rem think of Barack Obama I'll never forget.
Okay, when he uh appeared at that Uh Tower of Zeus where they where he had that brought in from Germany there to Denver. uh during his you know uh where he was going to Uh well, I guess I I don't know what would you call it coronation, if you would. uh when he became elected And I and he had that. He had all those pearly white Um Pieces, the background, the steps. The towers behind it Um the columns, all of that he had brought in all all the way from Germany.
And there he stood On this, like a god, Mm-hmm. And by the way, that that was where where they persecuted Christians. And what did it do with the seed of Satan? It was the seed of Satan. What did he do?
He stood there on the steps with two. Apostate generals And a fly kept landing on his lips. The fly would land on his lip and he'd push it away, it would come back, push it away, come back. That happened several times. And Uh Didn't It reminded me of Beelzebub.
Do you know who Beelzebov is? Isn't that a double? The Lord of the Flies. Bellzebub is the Lord of the Flies. And so Here And then the amazing thing, too, like, you know.
It was like God's got a real sense of humor here. As that's happening, a rat A rat walks across the stairs right in front of Obama and it stops right in front of him.
So he got a fly in his lip and a rat in front of him. God's got a sense of humor, doesn't he? And so we're over now. In Mark chapter six And I w I want to start in first uh Seven. And he called unto them the twelve.
and began to send them forth by two and to and gave them power over the unclean spirits. and commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey save a staff only, no script, No bread, no money, no. No purse. But he shod with sandals. and not put on two coats.
And he said unto them, In what place Soever you enter into a house, There abide. Till y till ye depart. from that place and whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you when you depart thence, Shake off the dust under your feet. for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It should be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah.
in the day of judgment than for that city. And they went out and preached, The men should repent, and they cast out many devils. and annoyed it. with oil many that were sickened And healed them.
Now, can you imagine here? The Lord Jesus, this time he's telling him to take nothing the next time he sends him out. He's telling him to b he what is else that he tell 'em? Actually tell him to take swords with him. Because they were going to need it, okay?
But this time coming What was the whole purpose of him sending him out? Um to preach to people and get them to repent. Telling them the kingdom of God is at hand, the Messiah has come. Worship the Messiah. Receive Messiah.
Uh did they really blow it? Um Yeah, I mean in a sense.
Well, they really messed up because had they not rejected Messiah, they would have gone right into the millennial kingdom. And you know what that would have meant? That would have meant Do you think Israel has suffered a bit over the years because of their rejection of Messiah? Yeah, just a little bit. Yeah.
I mean, they suffer every day. Yeah.
He goes on to say And King Herod heard of him, for his name was spread abroad.
Now he heard the name of Jesus Now here it had a Herrod had a situation. He was a little paranoid because of what he had done. And he said That John the Baptist was risen from the dead and therefore mighty works to thee. They'll show forth themselves in him, So he thought that Jesus was the resurrection of John the Baptist. Others said That is Elijah and others said that it was that is a prophet or as one of the prophets.
But when Herod heard thereof he said it is John whom I beheaded, He is risen from the dead. Huh. But Herod himself had set forth an had ho and laid hold upon John, and bound him In the prison, For Herod For Herodias' sake, His brothers Philip's wife. for he had married her. For when John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
Therefore Herodias, had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him But she could not. For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and a holy, and observed him, and when he I heard him. He did many things, and he heard him gladly, Well, what happened was Here it is. Uh when when I think of Herodias And Her daughter. who who was a wicked daughter, Uh Here I think of Hilary and Chelsea.
It just, you know, uh I don't know. I mean, it just Personality wise. That there's a lot of profit in abortion. We should have as much. Much abortion is necessary or is possible because there's good money in it.
Unreal. That's wickedness. That is pure wickedness, isn't it? Absolutely. And so here now Uh One of the things about John the Baptist, he was bold.
He was very, very bold. 'Kay. To date with I have no doubt in my mind, Kenny, that today the neo evangelicals Um the oppressive preachers would say that John was being disobedient to Scripture Because Romans thirteen says that They are to obey the government And Herod was king, And uh Yeah. I actually had a chaplain. This is no kidding.
And I was just abs taken back because I've known this fellow for years and years. We we uh grew up together. And this chaplain said to me, If Jesus Christ, this was during George Bush, when George Bush was president, George W. If Jesus Christ was here right now, he would obey George Bush. Yeah.
I said, What did you say? Yep. And Because of this, in this prison, in this jail sentence, these people Would Would um They would try to placate, they would Uh in order to to continue being having access to the prisons and jails, they were willing to compromise. I mean to really compromise the d to compromise as as as far as they had to do and their justification was, look, So we have to compromise. We have to a lot.
Uh But but it's worth it if we can get in there. With the gospel. Um That's not what the Bible teaches us. The Bible teaches us, you know, in our ministry, We had one saying from day one When in doubt charge when not in doubt, Charged also. You have to No compromise, no compromise, period.
You never If you never compromise, you never have to walk your back, do you? No. Okay. And so you know, we h hold we held high to high biblical standards and We never would compromise the gospel. Never, okay?
And so I remember One time we had Uh two supposedly Baptist preachers, and I knew the one Again, I you know I was just amazed. I was you know that Because you think you know people, right? Mm-hmm. And then one day they just do something that just you say, Where in the world did all that come from? Yeah, it just boggles your mind, doesn't make any sense.
Yeah, and I mean Uh You know, he and I used to take our kids out. Camping together, okay. And One day he says to me I cannot help you and I cannot protest abortion. Even though I know it's wrong, But It's legal. And as long as it's legal.
I can't pro I said, what are you are you? What are you saying? Any He tried to Uh Cite Romans thirteen. Romans 13 means exactly what it says. You've got to twist, spin, and pervert it.
And what happens there? And I said, why don't you just tell the truth? You just don't have the courage to go out and stand up against. This wickedness And then I had another one Uh come out and tell me. At the same time, Um This guy actually what happened was I was in the prisons, and the fellow that was supposed to host my radio program, another pastor, a very well-known pastor.
who was supposed to host he became ill suddenly, and what he did is he he put this other guy in there Um Who Never should have and he didn't realize that on the way home I was listening to the radio and I heard him say, You'll never catch me. Preaching in front of an abortion mill as long as abortion is legal. And I called in and I said, I'll never catch you doing anything it takes any courage and integrity to do. And that was the last time he ever got anywhere near my radio program. I can tell you that.
And so Here I want to go over Some of the things that John the Baptist. Was known for.
Now, we already read in Matthew chapter 14, verses 3 and 4. That he was fearless. We're reading it right here. Then again, he stood up to fair to Herrick He stood out there And he yelled, he protested, he preached, he said, Herod! You've taken your brother's wife.
See, he was doing what a preacher does. He had the courage to do what he did. A preacher is supposed to preach against sin, isn't he? Mm-hmm. And John the Baptist, he had he was courageous.
And that's what The Bible says the righteous are as bold as lions, huh? Yeah.
And we see that, and we see here right here how righteous he is, right here in in Mark six. Verse 20. Where he says And Herod Feared John knowing that he was a just man and a holy man, and observed John, whereby he heard him, and he did many things and hurt him gladly. And then we see John Over in John chapter 3, which we've read to that, Uh he was a humble man, What did he do in John 3? He said I'm not worthy.
I'm not even worthy to unlatch the shoes of Jesus, huh? And then he Uh he was uh Again. Faithful. You see that in Acts chapter 13, verses a twenty four and twenty five again. And then we read about him where he was out there in the wilderness Uh He wore a cam a girdle of camel hair.
Well, to stay warm. And he he ate honey and locusts.
Well, locusts and honey. And so he was resourceful. But then we just read over there in Luke chapter 3. Two through eighteen. That he was a preacher of repentance.
Who was the first preacher of repentance? Um Will there be Noah? Noah. Yeah, it was no no appreciate repentance for A hundred and twenty years. The only converts he had was his own family, huh?
Yeah.
But uh But he he did it. Yeah.
Do you think that God gave the population of the w the world fair warning. Yeah.
Yeah.
They all had to know about Noah preaching what was coming, huh? Yeah.
Mm-hmm, laughed at him. Laughed at him. Mm. Yep. Just like they're doing to day.
When uh Uh You're preaching the gospel, it's gospel we're preaching today. Many people laugh at it. Although I didn't get any of those but one woman Uh today I was out at j the Great Jog County Fair. I was gonna be out there again tomorrow, but Um I've I've changed my mind. But I was in the right to life booth.
all positive. Everything was very positive. We only had one feminist come through there. That's not bad pushed. Yeah.
And of course, you know, feminists don't like life. They don't like God. No, they don't like truth. They don't they don't like the truth. They don't like men.
They don't like children. And I don't like much of anything.
Now, they're they're kinda miserable people, aren't they? I I b it's like the only thing they like is sin. Yeah, well, they're into their sin, their rebellion. The Bible says rebellion's the same as witchcraft, huh? Mm-hmm.
So they they like taking ball bats and beating up watermelons. Watermelon. Screaming in the woods, okay. And now they're they're The Mm-hmm. putting pacifiers in their mouths, Good.
They're probably stealing them from the babies.
Well, they probably are. Yeah, they're that kind of people.
So, yeah. Folks, the bottom line out there, John the Baptist was a righteous, righteous man.
Some day I'm looking forward to meeting John the Baptist when we get to heaven. And um because there's there's He was an awesome, awesome of men born of women. And you know what? The men born of women, that's pretty much all of them, okay? It's everyone but Jesus.
May maybe Adam Adam. Adam, yeah, and so Well even uh The Christ child himself was born of a woman, And so Folks, the only way to get to heaven, the Lord Jesus, and and I ha explained that to a young woman today. She didn't like the fact that there was a a You you didn't have many options. And I said, That's it. There are there are absolutes, and the only way to get to heaven.
is through the Lord Jesus Christ, the only way to the Father. And Jesus tells you how to do it. Repent, go pray to the Father, repent. Ask for forgiveness of sins, call upon the Lord Jesus, To be the Lord of your life all of your life. He's the one that took your place upon that cross.
He paid it for you. And if you do that, you will become a new creature, If you do that, you will become a born again believer. If you do that you will become an heir of the kingdom, Uh if you do that And you will be filled? with the the Holy Spirit, okay? And so Uh we're at that point that we get to every Every night at this time for we have to say Good night.
Good night. We have to say God bless. And then we say thanks for being here. And always, always, always Keep Fighting. The fight.
Fight. Bye. Fight? Fight? Fight button.
