Welcome to Truth Talk Live.
All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.
Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. Jesus said, go and tell your friends what great things the Lord has done for you. Mark 5 19.
Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the gospel. And Stu, that's exactly what we are preparing for, have been preparing now for about nine months for this Blue Ridge go-tail crusade that will be taking place there at Mount Airy, North Carolina at the Veterans Park. On September 8th through the 11th, we've got Dondi Costin, the president at Liberty University, be with us on Monday night. September the 9th, we're having a special emphasis on honoring our veterans and military servicemen and women.
First, Dondi was a two-star general in the Air Force. So he'll be with us on Monday night. And we've got evangelist Ken Freeman, evangelist Tony Nolan, coach Joe Gibbs, Washington Redskins, now Joe Gibbs Racing, his grandson, Miller Gibbs, who played football over there at Appalachian State University. He'll be with us on youth night, Wednesday night, September the 11th. So we've got a great lineup and we've got about 40, 50 plus churches involved in this campaign and we're going after every unsaved soul in that part of the world for the glory of God.
I love it. Right near the old Epperson Homeplace, Mount Airy, North Carolina, right up the street from Ararat, Virginia, where Big Stu and all his family came from and Uncle Ralph kicked off the first family radio station in the farmhouse and then moved over to Mount Airy, where Cousin Kelly is at the wheel of WPAQ, WSYD, Classic Country 98.1, a little farther up in Galax, all stations promoting this big event. People, it's a great time, Rick Gage, to invite your friends to a fun night, a fun night out, right?
And there's plenty of seating last time I checked and the price is right, correct? Oh, it's free. The gospel is free, buddy. Listen, the gospel is the only message that will change a person's life. I got saved in 1984, January 15, 1984, in a James Robinson local church crusade in Lubbock, Texas, in Stu.
I've never gotten over what God did in my heart in my life, just over 40 years ago. But these outreach events God is using in a great way. We just had a campaign back in October last fall in Jackson, Mississippi, in a beautiful 8,000-seat open-air amphitheater. We had nearly 30,000 total attendance in those four nights. And to God be the glory, we saw over 2,000 souls that made decisions for Christ.
We spoke to about 15,000 students in all the area of private and public schools. And they're still talking about the great things that God did to that campaign. But Billy Graham once said that God will hold us responsible at the judgment seat of Christ for how well we fulfilled our responsibilities and took advantage of our opportunities. So this is an opportunity for all the churches and the region and all the people of God to bring their lost friends and their lost family members and the lost neighbors, classmates, teammates, co-workers, et cetera, to a neutral site venue to hear the gospel. I've often said it's a lot easier to get a lost pagan to come to a football stadium than it is to come to our sanctuaries at 11 o'clock on Sunday morning. So we have made it clear since day one when we began the preparation for this campaign last fall, we've made it clear that this is not a pep rally for all the saints. This is an opportunity for the people of God to bring their lost friends and their lost classmates, their lost neighbors, their lost co-workers to a neutral site venue where they will hear a clear presentation of the gospel every night of this crusade. What a great opportunity. You're looking for people that just want to do what Christ has called us to do. That is invite people to him, invite people into this relationship with this loving God.
Rick Gage, talk to people out there. And I don't want to guilt someone. You know, we've got enough of that out there. But isn't it heartbreaking? I've heard statistics that as many as as few as five percent of born again believers are even sharing their faith actively. I mean, we have on the positive side, we have the greatest message. We have the greatest savior. We have the only solution to all of life's problems, Rick Gage.
So what's holding us back, brother? Well, Stu, God has no hands but our hands. He has no feet but our feet. And he has no tongue but our tongue to share. The most precious gift one could ever know in his name is Jesus.
The Great Commission is not an option to be considered. It's a command to be obeyed. That's what Hudson Taylor once said.
So I think it was N.T. Niles that said the gospel is one definition of evangelism is one beggar telling another beggar how to find bread. Jesus is the bread of life. He's the way, he's the truth, he's the life.
No one can get to the Father but through Jesus. And so we have an incredible message that God has given us. And we, as God's children, we have got to get out into the highways and hedges and compel our lost family members and our lost friends how to be saved. And so we're praying that God will bring revival to the hearts of his people through this campaign. We're praying that there will be a great awakening that will usher multitudes of lost souls into the kingdom of God. So we're asking for the family of God to pray and to invite and to bring their lost friends to this campaign to hear the gospel so their life can be radically changed.
I love it. Well, thanks for what you're doing, brother. Give us the website for folks to financially support, to pray, listeners all over the country that may not be able to get to Mount Airy, North Carolina. Yeah, Stu, if they'll just go to gotellcrucades.com, all the information about the campaign will be there.
And then also the local Facebook is blueridgegotellatgmail.com, blueridgegotellatgmail.com. And the greatest thing that your listening audience can do is pray. Pray, pray, pray. Pray is what moves the hand of God, and so we ask that your listening audience really pray and bathe this campaign in prayer. And we're asking God to help us reach a multitude of souls for the cause of Christ. Hallelujah, thank you. Thank you to all the pastors, the churches, so many people on the ground coordinating this thing. It makes it easier for you, doesn't it, brother? You come in, you fire us up, you bring the gospel.
You do a whole lot. I know you, your engine's going all the time, but isn't it neat to have so many godly folks in the field that are praying. There's people on their knees right now praying for Mount Airy, North Carolina, Surry County, that whole area, the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains right there. They're praying for God to do a great thing there, and we're grateful for all of them. And brother, we're grateful for you, Rick Gage, for coming and blessing us all. Truth Talk Live!
