This is Darren Kuhn with the Masculine Journey Podcast, where we search the ancient paths to find ways that God brings light into a dark world and helps set men free from the struggles that we all face on a day-to-day basis. Your chosen Truth Network Podcast is starting in just a few seconds. Enjoy it.

Share it. But most of all, thank you for listening and for choosing the Truth Podcast Network. And who in the world is Alex McFarland? This guy is a locomotive.

He's moving so fast, I have to just grab ahold of a sidebar and swing myself up on the Alex McFarland train, and I finally caught him in the middle of Greensboro, North Carolina, your hometown. You were in a church that started during the Revolutionary War in this city, right, Alex? Is that right? 1754 Buffalo Presbyterian Church. And you know what? They sent missionaries to the Middle East, like in the 1800s, and the cedars of Lebanon that grow there, hundreds of feet tall, were seedlings brought back from Israel in the 19th century. A lot of history there. When I ask the question, who is Dr. Alex McFarland? People see you on Fox News. They see you lecturing at major seminaries and colleges. They see you preaching at massive convocations.

They see you debating an atheist on a huge secular college campus. But who is Alex McFarland? I'm a safe sinner who's excited about Jesus. I'm an ex-chicken farmer, evangelist, peanut butter maker. I love the Lord Jesus. I love my wife, Angie. And I love probably the best friend I ever had outside of Angie, Stu Epperson, Jr. And I just, I love you, brother. And I know I speak for millions of listeners. But folks, let me say this. Stu Epperson works tirelessly for the gospel.

I mean, really. I met you, I think it was in March of 99, through David Parsons, a beloved colleague and friend. I don't know that I've ever known a brother in Christ. I know a lot of people. You and I grew up around, goodness, Josh McDowell, and Mark Quartz, and Gary Chapman, and you and I have been blessed by a lot of great people. And Big Stu. And Stu Epperson, Sr., yes.

And Nancy. But I don't know anybody that has ever worked as hard for the Great Commission as you, my brother. And I admire you. Alex, you love Jesus.

You're spreading the gospel. What is your passion right now? What are you up to? If our listeners were eavesdropping, what would they hear when I asked you, what are you passionate about right now? What is God doing?

Talk to them. Well, my passion is revival in America, Stuart. I just pray for the Holy Spirit of God to sweep across our nation like a tsunami. I mean, we need people to save.

Like this 16-year-old young man, Aiden. Sunday night, 36 hours ago, I was preaching at a church. Great service. A ton of people came to the altar. I'll just say this, and I'm not talking about myself, Stu, but just every Christian, we have the privilege of remembering that every day we wake up, we represent Jesus. I just saw this young man kind of like lingering around the vestibule.

We had a great day. I preached a bunch of three or four services down in Roxboro. And just a young man, I could tell he wanted to talk to me. So we'd make some small talk, and I asked if he knew the Lord. He said, no. I said, do you understand the gospel? And he said, I think I do. And I said, what have you heard today? And he said, well, we're sinners, but Jesus died for us and rose again. And I said, that's right. I said, do you know how to appropriate that to your life? How do you get Jesus into your life? He said, I'm not sure.

And I said, may I explain that? He goes, yeah. And three and a half minutes later, he's praying to ask Christ into his life. Stu, I am the least likely guy ever that would have become an evangelist. You know, Stu, my passion to your question is the gospel in America. I mean, there is no problem this country has that a big old dose of Jesus wouldn't solve.

I mean, really. So Alex McFarland, you travel, you speak, you've got the Alex McFarland show heard on all these Truth Network stations, heard on AFR. You're doing this amazing show on AFR where you're answering the tough Bible questions, you know, all over the country, all over the word, exploring the word.

You've got a new book, 100 Bible questions and answers. So just everyone out there listening, you need a good speaker. You need a guy who will really offer the gospel, who puts the cross before the flag, who's praying for our country to turn back to Christ. You can call Alex McFarland. You can also, you know, you can learn more about him at his website, which is really simple, AlexMcFarland.com.

But get this latest book. Alex, you're passionate. You hear these horror stories about kids. I just heard coming over here that only 8% of our Christian kids will make it past the second year of college without losing their faith.

I just heard a Truth Network pastor say those words on the radio on the way over here. It broke my heart. I videotaped it, and I'm going to play it back on my social media. Talk, give us something positive. You just talked about this young man, Aiden. But talk about what you see God doing among young people. I want to say that young people are very hungry for the truth. In our four camps this summer, we were in front of 650 teenagers in four camps. And, Stu, I've got to tell you, they responded. The third of my fourth camps that we did all summer, we had 26 kids saved at one summer camp. A two-hour altar call.

Middle schoolers were tearfully praying for their friends to come to Christ. I challenged kids. We do a thing called viral truth clubs. You know, truth gone viral.

So every kid, now listen to this, folks. You can start a viral truth club, and I'm going to have a big Zoom call on September 15. I'm going to do a Zoom call and tell kids across the nation how they can start a Christian club. And if you want to be on the Zoom call on Thursday, September 15, this Zoom call that I'm organizing, just email me.

It's very easy. Alex at alexmcfarlane.com. Alex at alexmcfarlane.com. But, Stu, the good news is, kids are hungry.

And kids respond to the gospel because they want something to live for. Well, he's on television. He's on YouTube. He's on all the social media channels. He's on all the Truth Network, all kinds of people that carry Truth Talk, like AFR.

Wonderful affiliates that are brave enough to carry this crazy radio show. Real quick, as we close, viral truth. Isn't it amazing how viral the gospel can be? And isn't it amazing how our entire country and world shut down because of a viral disease, because of a virus, and yet what Jesus Christ brings in the gospel, it doesn't kill people, it doesn't destroy people's body, but it actually changes people. If anyone is in Christ, he's a new creation.

Old things are passed away. All things have become new. Even now, the Alex McFarland hotline is going off. Alex, close us out of here on the importance of God's Word being viral, being contagious. Being contagious, Christians, everyone out there listening doesn't need to say, I'll never be an Alex McFarland. I'll never be able to share what faith was in my neighbor.

Challenge everyone out there on these last days before Christ returns on how to be contagious for Jesus with the greatest message ever about the greatest Savior who came to die for great sinners like me. Stu, I was very blessed. Bill Bright of Campus Crusade taught my evangelism class at Liberty. Brad Bright, his son, who's a dear friend of mine, said that that was the last time, fall of 1990, his dad taught a college class.

I was very privileged. I was taught personal evangelism by Bill Bright. Now, Bill Bright used to say this, if every Christian right now would lead one soul to Christ in the next 12 months, and then that person would lead somebody to Christ, that in under eight years the whole wide world would have been evangelized. And I used to share that illustration, Stu, and people would say, oh yeah, that could never happen.

Listen to this. February of 2020, nobody had heard the word COVID. By March of 2020, they were wearing masks in the jungles of Zambia. In six weeks, the entire world was brought under a message.

COVID. So I'm going to tell you, the Great Commission, go tell the gospel to every creature, Mark 16, 15, Matthew 28, 18-20. Christ would not give us something that was impossible to achieve.

Do you know, this whole wide world could hear the message of Jesus, honestly, in a matter of weeks. Now, the last, I'm going to tell you the thing that changed my life, and I'll hush. Buford Smith, he's in heaven now. He was an elderly, retired pastor when I got saved.

I was 21 years old. I'd been a believer about a month. I was going into church on a Sunday night, because remember when we used to have church on Sunday night?

Anyway, if the world's getting worse and worse, why are we having church less and less? Anyway, but I'm going into church, and Buford Smith, rest his soul, he looked at me. He said, young man, will anybody be in heaven because of you?

And I stammered. I said, anybody in heaven is because of Jesus. He said, good answer. Young man, do something with your life so that somebody would be in heaven because of you.

And that drives me every day. I get up and I say, Lord Jesus, may this be the day that I could tell somebody how to know you. Listen to Alex McFarland exploring the word all over AFR, all over the country. Listen to the Alex McFarland Show, a cutting edge. I hear it every weekend on the Truth Network, and be encouraged.

Go to alexmcfarland.com. Now Alex Fernando has brought, who we prayed for, and who were given this amazing gospel booklet in Spanish that your ministry is providing. Que dicidios de mi relación con el. God wants a relationship with you.

He has brought our chile rellenos. We're going to take a picture of this, a selfie before we dig in. We've already prayed. Thank you for your ministry. Friends, keep spreading the gospel, and thank God for leaders and men who do it by example.

Listen to Dr. Alex McFarland, alexmcfarland.com. Be sure you download this podcast. Share it with everyone. We can get the COVID spread worldwide, both in reputation and in fear and all that. Why can't we awaken people to the greatest cure, the greatest salvation, just the best news ever that God loves us so much.

He gave us His own Son, Jesus, who died on that cross for our sins, in our place, rose from the dead, conquered death, and He is coming again. Let's not just be ready, but let's take some people with us. Amen? Amen.

And you know what? Whenever I get booked to speak, we've got a brand new event preparation manual. We will coach you. Listen, when churches book me, we coach you on how to have a PR committee, a prayer committee, all the logistics. So if you reach out to us, you can go to my website, alexmcfarland.com, or just email me. January of this year, we did a crusade in Wichita, Kansas. They said, can we use your event strategy to do another one? And I said, yeah, sure. So listen, whether you book me to speak and our team comes in or not, just reach out. I'll send you our brand new event preparation guide, and we will help your community get mobilized to win people to Christ. alexmcfarland.com This is the Truth Network.
