This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what: where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.

Speak, George. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. What a treat we really have for you today. We want you to start your engines, like, and if you think about it, in your life, what started your spiritual engine? Like, you you may have been to the altar and say, but something happened that just Got you fired up like something just happened, and you began to grow in your faith.

Maybe you grew in your quiet time. Maybe you got into the Bible for the first time and began to dig in. I know I have that in my story. I know both men sitting across from me have it in their story. But we want to know in your story.

Eight six six, the number to call in and share. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four. Truth, we're so excited to have with us Mike Dillon with Richard Childress Racing. Slash, he's got this huge event coming up, Mike, and it's next Tuesday night. Yeah.

Yes, sir. At over at RCR, and welcome. Yeah, yeah, and it is going to be at the RCR event, which is in Lexington, is what it says on the brochure. Yeah, we call it Welcome Lexington. Depends on some some mail gets there if you put Welcome, others get there.

You got to put Lexington.

So Frank Turek is going to be there. His son Austin Dillon is going to be there. Austin's going to speak a little bit on what God's done in his life, and then turn it over to Frank. It's absolutely beautiful. It starts at seven p.m., but that's the whole idea.

Of what God put on your heart, right? It sounds like five, six years ago, right? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I um, I just wanted to share what God or Jesus had done for me in my heart.

I um, I had a friend who gave me a book, First Hour for Men, and said this book has changed my life. I hope it can do the same for you. You know, and I, you know, I've I've always uh, I've been a a Christian like a lot of people are. Christians, right? And my whole life, I was saved when I was seventeen, and but I wasn't living.

the the life I'm trying to live today, and that book actually Mark Cook is the author. He'll also be there, but we give everybody that comes a book, and everything's free. You show up, you might even get a bottle of water if you're lucky, if there's still any left. But that's about all we do for you. But but I just wanted to share with others what what God has done for me and and how He's changed my heart.

Yeah. So you you got into that book, and all of a sudden, a quiet time. And it started your engine. Yeah. Yeah.

Sure did. That's a good. That was a good lead-in when you started that up. I like that. But yeah.

You know. Probably the most important thing for me every day is to get up and and start my day off on my knees in prayer and praying to God and thanking the Lord for for saving me and and then praying for my family and praying for others and and then reading my Bible putting my armor on you have to you've got to put your armor on every day and. But you you read your Bible, you'll learn all that, and then God will teach you. You know, it's a, it's something I'm going to talk about. I've been you know working on what I wanted to.

I will say a little bit introduction when we get there on Tuesday. But First John has got something in it that I want to read to everybody that that means so much. But the Bible is just like I told you a second ago before we started. I love reading the Bible. It never gets old.

Nothing. It never changes. It's not going to change, but just God will give you what you need when you need it, or when you're ready for it, and it's just an awesome thing. And I just wanted to share it with people. Yeah, I I love that Eugene Peterson's um his biographer said that he had a conversational intimacy.

With the Bible, in other words, you're you're talking to God, absolutely, and you don't, and then God is talking to you, right? Exactly, yeah. And you don't realize it, you don't realize that until you, until you start doing it, and then when the Holy Spirit takes over, it starts directing your steps, and then you start realizing that, you know, the spiritual battle that we're all in every day is a real deal, and you got, you've got. the The winner on your side, and so Doc, you got to go to this inter this event a number of years ago, and it lit up your world. Yes, got invited by Andy Bowersox to a pastor's your guys' ministry, and came down for it.

And my word, to see all these men worshiping. And then hearing the word, and and and for our listeners out there, this is a different men's event. I'm telling you, these guys are so serious about you focusing on God. You're not going to get anything to eat; barely get a bottle of water. I showed up thinking I'm coming for a meal, like a beast feast.

No, no, this is about getting you focused to start your engine. Spiritually, and start having that quiet time. And Mike, I heard your testimony first time. I'm like, I was just blown away. This is it was so genuine.

The the transparency of I started meeting with God. It changed my life, and that's what every man needs to know. That first hour with God. I worked for Jerry Falwell. His life was changed by having a quiet time.

You never had to ask Jerry Falwell, did he have his quiet time, because he told you what he had had for breakfast. Being spiritual breakfast, Oswald Chambers. He's reading my utmost, highest. Arthur De Moss. He said, "You give God the first hour of every day.

You give the God the first day of every week, and you give God the first dime of every dollar. That's the way you live your life." And so, this is going to be a great event just south of Winston Salem. Yeah, at the Richard Childress Racing headquarters. Yes, sir. Oh, it's spectacular.

Yeah, and it's down there in Lexington again. It starts at seven p.m., but you know you're opening the doors at about six, and there's a lot of fellowship. Yeah, and you can come. You can come earlier at five thirty.

Well, five five thirty's not going to be a problem. We're expecting that, and and and welcome that.

So. And even if you are in Ohio today, or where you might be in Indiana, wherever it is that you are listening, you know, yeah, we would love it, but we would certainly love for you to call us at eight six six. I mean, you have a story. I bet you when you heard Mike's, I know it just lit my world up. Like, yeah, that's very similar to what happened to me.

That my it just like man. The greatest advice I I tell all the time. If somebody asks me to come speak somewhere, one of the first things I'll come out of my mouth is the best advice I ever had in my life. The best, bar none, get up early. Yeah, get up early, pray, read the Bible.

It's not any great big huge, but it was that. Literally, completely transformed my life. Yeah, and you said it earlier when we were just talking, and you just did it again, and it makes me emotional to think it every time. But it is you—you can't explain it to people. That's right.

You cannot explain what it'll do, and and if if you just if you'll put forth that effort to do that and. It'll it'll change your heart and things change like you can't you can't imagine. We would love to hear your story eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. It's always the listeners that bless us, right, Doc, with something that just absolutely blows our mind, and and everybody does. Have that starting point, and that's that's what we're kind of looking for today.

What was that starting point for you that got you going onto a spiritual journey? And we want to hear your story. And and I want you to know also, the first hour dot com is the book that Mike is talking about. You can get more information on it. You may be in Utah right now, and you're not going to make the Wednesday.

Salem, Lexington, North Carolina next Tuesday night. But you can get this book and then get ready for a change. That's that's the way it goes. You start meeting with God, and God's going to change your life. Yeah, I you know when I was hearing Mike's testimony, it just lit up mine because same kind of thing.

I actually was not looking for God. I was, I was trying to sell more cars, but he came after me. Right, I but I bought the series by Norman Vincent Peale. Similar, you need to get up an hour earlier. You need to read the Bible.

You need to pray in order to understand it. And when I did, and it started, that engine, it's like. What began for me is an hour. Many people would know this now. is like three or four.

Like, how in the world can you get enough of that? Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. Hometown Men's Fellowship twenty twenty six. It's a free event. It's happening at the RCR Richard Childress Event Center next Tuesday night.

Don't want to miss it. We would love for you to call. Boy, would we eight six six three four truth. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live.

Today's question, which we would—oh man, would we love to hear how God started your spiritual engine? Right, those of racing fans out there would certainly recognize that.

Sound right that that happens when that deep throat right and off on it goes. But man, when God starts your engine, it's something you never forget. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We should tell you about the event that you need register right. You go to hometownmen'sfellowship dot org.

Hometownmen'sfellowship dot org, and you can register there. Which every hundredth registration. It's a free cooler, by the way, so you know it's pretty cool. But hometownmensfellowship dot org. They can also do this by going to Facebook.

There's a Facebook page, hometown men's fellowship, and that that will. If you'll go to that Facebook page, you'll be able to get a whole lot more information about all the different things that are going on there. But as far as registering, that just kind of helps out the organization to know how many chairs to set up. But Mike wants to make sure every Everybody knows you don't have to register. We'd like you to.

We like you like for you to. But this is a free event, so the only reason we're asking folks to register ahead of time so we can figure out how many chairs we got to put out. We exactly our our our. Space only allows twelve hundred registered people, right?

So we don't want to do anything wrong. We might we might put twelve hundred and ten in there. I'm not sure, but well, I know this: men drive. Three hours or more to a race.

Well, I thought you were going to say to go deer hunting and to go deer hunting. That's me.

So, so next Tuesday night, I don't know, you know, how far you are from Winston Salem. That's giving you that big picture. But Lexington, you get here for this. This is going to be an incredible night when you just see men worshiping, but then to hear the word taught, and and and these men are taking it in, and Then they start practicing, and that's been what's kept you going. Men start doing this, and their lives start being changed.

That's absolutely well. We got Mike, is in Dayton, Ohio. Mike, you're on Truth Talk Live. What started your engine, buddy?

Well, what started my engine was something that Stu said on this Truth Talk Live, and really made me stick. Yeah, he kind of. It made me stick to listening to Truth Talk Live, and he said said, "Of doing things for God, do things with God." And and if you ever read Romans eight, oh, I love Romans eight. It it if you read it through, and it kind of gives you a a life lesson there, and and it kind of it kind of says. Hey, submit yourself to God, and he'll he'll do things with you, and.

I'm sorry, I don't remember everything about Romans eight right this second. We got docked right here. I mean, it's like it's only like one of the greatest of chapters of all time.

So thirty nine verses.

So you're rolling, Mike. Keep coming. Yeah, if I like, I read it in the Message Bible. And Robbie will relate with this one once for me. It says that when it starts coming into where you're, you know, you're supposed to listen to God like a child.

And when you listen to God like a child, that's pretty cool. But then, as a child, you say, "Okay, God, what what next, God?" And and and then the message Bible even says right out and says, "Okay, God, you're supposed to act like a child and say, 'Okay, I'm going to listen to you, God.' What next? You know what I heard this week, Mike, along those lines. I hope it blesses you like it blessed me. It's Stacey Aldridge wrote a new book called The Love Ladder, and she described it this way that.

When you're a slave or a servant, right? You got to go into the back door and you've got to clean your feet before you come in. But when you're a child, you jump through the front door and you jump into daddy's lap, and he wants to hear all about it. In Romans eight is we've been adopted into the family of God. We call him Father.

Right. That's that's a huge change in relationship. Right. It's it is part of that ladder that we get to jump on. And and studying your Bible gives you those examples like Mike's talking about of doing things with Dad, man.

I mean, how fun. You know, it's the ultimate experience. I love it, Mike. You're my hero. Yeah.

Oh, thank you. And I love how he said earlier in the broadcast, and I was kind of dealing with stuff a little bit, and um, to do it first thing in the morning. Um, I love that.

Okay, get up in the morning first. You know, what is your first thing? Do you grab your phone or do you You know, do you go brush your teeth? No, you you get up in the morning and you say, "God, I'm ready for you. What do you What do you have next for me today?

You know, and that's the that's the best way to start your life, your your mornings and and you don't worry about yesterday. There's a line that I have adopted of late, Mike. When I first get up before I do anything, I actually put on a prayer shawl and then I say. I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name for ever and ever. Yes, I will praise you every day.

I will praise you for ever. Great is the Lord; He is more worthy of praise. No one can measure His greatness. Those I I would like to be the first words out of my mouth for a while, because the idea that we get to do that every single Day is just like how cool is that, Mike? I mean, and I I'm so with you.

Before you do anything else, Psalms five three. In the morning, you will hear my voice. In the morning, I will call out to you. Yeah, first thing in the morning, we love it. Keep up the great work, Mike.

God bless you, my friend. We got Jamal is in of all places. Wintham, Jamal, you are on Truth Talk Live again, my friend. Thank you, Mister Dillmore, and good to hear you, Doctor Carson, and real good to hear my friend Mike Billings over there.

So I felt compelled to call and support what was going on and inspire the people to go go to this event.

Well, I just gotta tell you, Jamal. I was praying that you would call in. You're an answer to prayer. Hey, Jamal. How about that?

Hey, hey, Mike. And that's that's that must be something because I wasn't planning on calling, so must have been the Holy Spirit prompting me to to call in. Yeah, I know we're up against the breaks, so I'll mention this real quick. For those that don't know, Mike Dylan hosts. Along with Pastor Payne, a Bible study inside the race shop of the Richard Childress Racing Museum.

So we're surrounded by NASCARs, a bunch of men, very non-formal. We do a whole lot of talk, a lot of sharing, a lot of fellowship. I can't imagine a more manly setting than that under the guise of, not guys, but under the leadership of these godly men, and also going under Jesus Christ, which is. Going to be what we all should be under.

So this was going on next Tuesday is going to be kind of a little further of that, and we're going to be equipped by Doctor Frank Turick, who was Dr. Tur's mentor.

So if you have any kind of questions about anything related to kind of any subject. History, science, practical day-to-day living, anything about the Bible, come to this event. I'm pretty sure you're going to need your notepad. Dr. Frank Turk is going to give you all kind of all kind of information, and also we're going to hear a powerful testimony by my dear son Austin Dillon.

So we're going to have a whole lot of edifying, a lot of fellowship going on, and it's going to be around a good setting. And how often do you get to hear Frank Turk for free?

So this is going to be an awesome event. I encourage everybody to come out there and let's glorify God and let's have the body of Christ come together as one. Plus, you get to meet them all, right? Because he'll be there. He'll be there, because I I know that a lot of listeners have heard you many times, host the show, etc., etc.

And you you must, you know, it's a completely sincere invitation when you know that you you go from what I understand every week. I used to go every week. I've gone to other Christian events and other political events. But I know that whenever I have time, I can always go back to hometown men's fellowship because they never take a break. Haven't been back in a while, but I do.

You're going to be back Tuesday night because now you're committed. Jamal's one of our core. He's one of our core guys. He's solid. That's awesome, Jamal.

Thank you for my your call. How about you? What started your spiritual engine? Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today's question. I love this question too, by the way. What started your spiritual engine? You know, what got you going to where, like, man, I can't get enough.

Eight six six three four eight. Seven eight eight four. You got to make one more lap through the Bible. You got to get one more chapter under your belt.

However, that works. One more verse memorized, Doc. You know, eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We got Chris is in Clayton, North Carolina. Chris, you are on Truth Talk Live.

Good afternoon.

So, good afternoon. And I am new to the show, and I just turned it on. I heard you guys talking about this daily time with God, and it got me excited because I have a testimony about that. I've been a minister for many years. I was a been preaching for thirty five years, and I was a pastor for twenty one years.

And unfortunately, behind the scenes, I was neglecting all these basics in my life for years. And I had a complete meltdown, if you will, spiritual meltdown, and led to some some serious issues. And to the point where there was a self harm season. And this was about two years ago.

So I ended up having to get out of step out of ministry to deal with my my own care and. Talk to Christian counselors and all of that, and in the process of healing from all that, there was a day where I thought, you know, I just need to start reading the Bible. It's just something I need to do. I'm gonna get up tomorrow. I'm gonna read a chapter, and there was nothing else special to it.

I mean, I just got up, read a read a chapter, read a little devotional, said a little prayer, but I determined I'm gonna just do that daily. I just I know it's the thing to do, but as I did that daily, and then I started incorporating memorizing scripture again because I know it's important. It radically transformed my life again, and I found it not only brought healing, but it restored what was lost. And I literally, it's like spiritual air that I breathe to do this every day. Oh, what a testimony!

And I know it's so true, right? And God was just waiting, right? I know nobody's more excited than he is in in what you're able to see at this point, right? Amen. And just having the power of not only reading God's word and meditating on it, but the I can't stress enough the memorizing scripture, which I thought, man, I'm fifty two, I'm too old to even be doing this, but I wasn't, and.

Just putting that in your heart and mind, and I serve as a chaplain now for a hospice organization. All this that God fills me with now comes out of my ministry to these people as I point them to Jesus. And you know, it's almost embarrassing that I got away from it, but now I'm like, how did I ever function without it? And the truth is, I wasn't. But it will.

It'll sound simple at the beginning. You'll wonder if it makes a big deal, but it will transform your life.

Well, I got to tell you, I so appreciate what you've said, Chris. I was at a conference with a guy named Howard Hendricks, and I'm in my early 40s. There's a lot of guys there that are in their mid 30s at this conference, and and he teaches on the importance of a quiet time.

Now we're all ministers, pastors involved in doing God's work, and this man. This great Bible teacher at Dallas Theological Seminary. I want to talk to you about your quiet time, and John Maxwell commented later, he was blown away at how many men immediately took their pen and wrote down. I must have a quiet time because it is so valuable. But we do; we get away from it.

We we kind of begin to drift. We begin to neglect. And all of a sudden, there was a song years ago. I forget who would sing. It said, "God says I miss my time with you." And there's just something about God wants to be with us.

And then you know, when I look at God's word, so many different illustrations. But it's food. And if you don't eat, you you begin to decay, dry up. And God's word is life, and and your testimony. When you start getting God's word back in, it just starts bringing more life into you.

And Mike's whole testimony, when he started having that quiet time, life is just coming into him, and now he's living life. And Jesus called that the abundant life. But you got to get in the word every day. Chris, thank you for your call. Thank you, Chris.

Thank you, thank you for your ministry and keep up the great work. And we appreciate you listening. Come join, come see us, come see us next Tuesday. I guarantee you'll love it. Yeah, Clayton's not that far.

Hour and a half or so. Yeah, come on. God bless, buddy. Thank you for your call again. What about you?

I bet you got a testimony. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. Just think, there could be somebody out there that could just like. I mean, I imagine there's who knows how many people heard what Krista said and thought, man. I needed to get back to doing that, and you know, was the cool part when he said he was a he was a pastor.

Yep, that's right. He he was a pastor, and everybody thinks that you know that goes back to what Andy Bowersock does at Energized Ministries, giving giving pastors a place to go re-energize because they have to take on the burdens of of the whole congregation at at them at all times. I'm not trying to pump, but that's I mean, can you imagine that? And we got our we have our Our lives—they have everybody that's in their church, and you know it's like that's a big deal. And him for him to say that, you know, they would go, "Wow!

If he needs that, what for sure the rest of us do." You know what I'm saying? Oh, there's no doubt, right? It's absolutely no doubt. And it says, you know. First John, going to chapter two.

It's it's. I'm not going to go. I can't quote it like you do. But but there's a part in there. It talks about you don't need a teacher.

First John, two twenty seven. Yeah yeah. Two twenty seven. You don't need a teacher. You get up in the morning.

You start praying. You pray to God, and you pray and you read your Bible. The Holy Spirit's going to teach you what you need to know, and it'll be constant, and it'll get better, and you'll get more every single day. And it's that's the part that is yeah, because God knows your heart. Yeah, He made you.

Yeah, He's been with you every moment, and He knows what will. You know, it makes sense to you at this season in your life. He knows how to come after you. Yeah, it's beautiful. It is beautiful.

It is, it is a beautiful thing, and it's that's the point of uh, that's the whole point of of this event. Is is to to get people to understand and how to you know how they can get to that, and then and you you know I told it before, you know nobody can give it to you. And nobody, you know, you have to go get it, and it's there. It's already inside of you. All you got to do is just open it up.

You know, the the food is available, but you have to feed yourself. That verse: "Open your mouth, open your mouth." Yeah. If you keep your mouth shut, you'll never eat. I look at it like exercise. People want to be, you know, these do these guys want to be those big buff dudes and all that?

Well, how you get there? That's hard work. You got to go work. You got to go get it. You earn it.

You got to go get it. It's like, and he he's not big on the lazy. That's preaching right there. It's in Proverbs. That's right.

It's not big on the lazy. All right, tell our listeners. I want them to hear from Mike Dillon this concept of reading one chapter a day out of the Book of Proverbs.

Well, so and in the in the first hour from in book. That's part of that's one part of it, right? Yep.

So I mean, that's maybe five minutes, and you're gonna read your Bible for twenty minutes, you know. And and if you're a good reader, unlike myself, you're supposed to be able to read the New Testament in a month.

Okay, okay. I'm six years into it. I've gone through it several times now, but it took me about forty days. But I didn't care. Right.

At that point, I was hooked. I want it. I want it. So anyway, but back to the Proverbs. One of the things I tell people now that I don't have.

I say, well, here's what you. There's 31 proverbs in the Bible. There's 31 days in most months. You, you know, so there's no excuse. Today's the 13th.

What's Proverbs 13? What did it say to you? You know, in the months that are shorter, you're blessed to read a couple extra proverbs that that day and start back over. And it's, and I'm telling you. Smartest human that ever lived wrote Proverbs, right?

Right, you know, and and and he wasn't perfect by no means, but Solomon, right? And but it's if if you can't, yeah, something else I do with Proverbs. I don't mean to get off track here, guys. But no, that's good. Wisdom is all through Proverbs.

Starts starts from four on through and goes through eight. Really like chapter eight. But wisdom, I took my Bible. And started writing beside wisdom, Jesus. Everywhere wisdom is at in the in it, you write Jesus.

Get Jesus at all costs. You know, get you know. It says get wisdom at all costs. You know, you just start writing Jesus beside the word wisdom in Proverbs, and it's and that's that's a few years before he was here. Yeah, absolutely.

So, what started your spiritual engine? What what got you going? Who gave you that piece of advice, or how did God get it to you? Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. There is no telling the people you may meet in heaven someday that said, "Man." I heard you that day on the radio, and I started doing it, and it made all the difference in the world.

I'm telling you, it for me personally, Robby Dilmore. I could not be more sure that the best piece of advice I ever got in my entire life was to get up earlier in the morning, pray, and read the Bible. Amen. And that's for every day, every day. And that's what changed me.

Church, you go on Sunday. That's it. No, no. You start having a quiet time, and you right there with Proverbs chapter eight. Proverbs eight says, "Anyone who listens to me is happy, watching at my doors every day." Waiting at the post of my doorway for the one who finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord.

This is an everyday thing. That that's the whole thing. When you come to this event, the challenge again is that you're gonna we're gonna use that phrase ignite your engine. You're gonna you're gonna get started every day, and first thing in the morning, I give worship to God. I then get wisdom from God, and then I go to work for God.

First thing in the morning, you know. I think a lot of people, I think a lot of people think that you get. Oh, I don't have the time, or I got you know I got work to think about. I've got, I've got my whatever the burden is around my me personally. I've got to think about that.

The thing is, though, if you start it with God, you give it to God. Those things will flow differently. You'll view them differently. You'll react differently. People will see it.

They'll so and and and he will guide you through those things. And and the more you have the faith and strength to continue that on, you know, it still doesn't mean you don't struggle. There still don't mean there's there's hard work to do. But it's it's a totally different view. You know, one of the first.

I guess metaphors I used on the Christmas car guy show was, are you a four-stroke Christian? Because the way an engine works, a gasoline engine has four strokes, right? And the very first stroke, if if you're looking at little piston going down, what it does is it sucks in air and fuel. In the in other words, got to take something in, right? And if it takes in garbage.

It's it's gonna cause a lot of problems in the next stroke, right?

So if you're taking in the word of God as your fuel, right, then the next stroke. Is the compression stroke right? It's going to be a great explosion, right? And and when that compression happens, which it's going to happen, if you have good fuel, you will not pre-ignite.

Well, the third stroke is a power stroke, and that one's going to be as powerful as it is based on the fuel and the air that you took in, right? And of course, you got to get rid of your sins. You're going to have an exhaust stroke at some point in time. But the question is, are you a four-stroke Christian?

Well, man, this event can help you. Hometown men's fell. Coming up in Lexington, RCR Event Center. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Start your engines today on Truth Talk Live.

What started your engine? We would oh man, would we love to hear it eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We've had the absolute delight of speaking with Mike Dillon with Richard Childress Racing throughout the show. There' huge event that's coming up this Tuesday, a week from today, not today, a week from today, at the Richard Childress Racing Center there in Lexington. The he calls it welcome.

That's fine, but the people. Live there, understand completely. The door is going to open probably five thirty, six o'clock, but the event starts at seven. One of the things they got going is that you you got two pit passes if you register, that are going to be given away. Like pretty much for the racetrack, their choice, whatever they wherever they want to go.

So those are are there tracks in Hawaii? No, there's not one down there. Just check.

Now we might go, though somebody talks about it. But anyway, you can register at hometownmen'sfellowship dot org, hometownmen'sfellowship dot org, or what's the Facebook page? dot hometownmen'sfellowship. And I encourage all of our listeners get on that Facebook page and make that one of your favorites, so you can be following there as as well as with the website. But and and Mike's making it clear you don't have to.

But if you want to win, you've got a Redster, and there's a cooler that they can win for every Grizzly cooler. Yeah, not just any cooler. And that's a that's every hundredth entry.

So we're like right now we're at six, six, you know, six. We've already given away six coolers, and then the hot passes or pit passes. It's a VIP pass in the garage, and then a pit road that you'll get. For whatever track you want.

Well, I know we've got pastors listening to this, and if you're in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, get your men and come to this event. We've got Christian schools. They brought their basketball team. Bring these young men, and and and then there's just something again about being around other men, worshiping God, learning the word, making these commitments, and then I I do I find accountability is one one of the best ways to have integrity, and you begin to run the race with those who are running the race, and I I don't mind admitting that. There are several people that I met at my first time there that have become really good friends because you go there, you you do, you have time for good interaction, and it's something about meeting other men who are running the race and they want help, and you need help, and you start helping each other.

Mike, you've been a big blessing to a lot of men to to get that engine started by keeping it running. Why did you decide to do every Tuesday? What what what was the kind of thinking behind that? It wasn't a whole lot of thinking behind it. It was after our first event.

This will be our I believe this is our fourth. After our first big event, we didn't follow up. We, you know, we wanted our deal was to get men in small groups and in a church and and start reading their Bible, praying, and reading their Bible.

Well, second time came around, we all started getting together.

Some some men, really great men, I have to to help and mentor. Say hey, we gotta we gotta do what we said, getting these guys to church and getting them some you know in a group. I said, well, why don't we do a small Bible study here at the museum? And so what happened was, I said, okay, well, I can get, I you know, it seemed like I'll I'll commit to four weeks in a row, right? That get me to Thanksgiving, I think it was something like that, right?

So we had. Such a great turnout! I had guys who were, and I I pick on them because I'd say it if they were sitting there. But I had guys who were like, you know. I guess strong theologians—is that how you say it?

Well, that way you'll start off with thirty or forty, and then it'll fade down to twenty, and then it'll go pretty much fade away. And you know, don't be upset.

Okay, that's cool. Whatever. If we can get a couple guys in church and a small group, that'd be great, right? We don't. We'll let God do it, right?

So, we um we started a Bible study.

Well, by the fourth week, we had quite a few men showing up. We had about sixty, and I was like.

Well, y'all want to quit because I didn't because it's from me personally. You think it's it's like it's such a blessing to go be a part of this group and now these men are my family. Yeah, and uh, and it's like so we okay let's go we'll go to Christmas we'll go to Christmas and then we'll go well we get to Christmas and said okay y'all want to we'll do Christmas and then we'll.

Well, let's go on to New Year's, and I was like, then finally, everybody, you know, one day I don't know if I call him preacher, who's my mentor, Richard Payne. He said, "So, hey guys, y'all want?" I said, "No, hey, we're not stopping." I just found. I said, "I said we're going to keep on as long as one person will show up. We're going to read the Bible together. I'm not stopping.

This is such a blessing." And so, I believe this is our third year. Of the Bible study, I'm pretty sure this is the third year of the Bible study, and and it's just it's so awesome. It's there at the museum at at RCR. It's free, of course, and you when you walk in the front of the museum at six thirty quarter to seven on a Tuesday night, you're gonna see a bunch of cars in the parking lot and somewhere between seventy five and a hundred men every Tuesday night. It's and it's like I said, it's it's amazing, and it's it's like you're With you know, a group of your best friends, and they all and what you find out is we're all got the same struggles, and you know we pray for each other.

Sometimes we try to read the Bible. We read the Bible, right? We study it, but we try to. But sometimes we might only get a verse in because some guys want to share what's going on in their lives, and we're praying for each other, and it's just is awesome that it's so that Bible study has as a blessing that's come off of the, the men's event. Thing and it's just not so.

So Christian car guy, it's kind of like a a pit stop where they they get refueled. What do you think of that? I think that's powerful. I think and and that four strokes. Yeah.

So it's it's but what's but it started with an individual. Right. Think about how God did it. God. Apparently.

Mr. Cook, I forget his first name, wrote wrote that book. Mark Cook wrote the book. One hour, right? And he said it changed his life, which clearly it did.

And and then he gave it to Mike, his son Blake, raced for a little bit.

Okay, and I remember that I've interviewed Blake, and he was in our complex, and he's the one that suggests to his dad to give me the book.

So I don't know if he saw me living where I shouldn't be or what, but. He and or or whatever, just for some reason he did, and thank God he did. And Mark sent me the book, and and and Mark's testimony in that book I read, and before I realized Mark had wrote the book. The testimony. I said, "Wow, this sounds like mine.

You know, this sounds like me." And I got to, so it made me more interested. And okay, I can do thirty days. And so this book is not a. You know, I'm not a big reader. I told you guys, but I said, "All right, I'm gonna commit to thirty days of doing this, and I'm gonna do this.

I'm gonna make it happen." And And man, it's it's nonstop since. That's God. Just that's how He makes fruit, right? Yeah, He He works with you as an individual. The next thing you know, you're involved in a Bible study, and that Bible study is growing families and keeping families together, and and the next generation coming up.

That you know, it's just that's God. And if you miss that, and so you've got this opportunity to call in. Still, we got a couple minutes. We would love Love to hear your testimony, eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. But by all means.

Come in, Rabbi Elbo Elbo's, right? Yes, and and if you can't make it, listen. The book is free by going to thefirsthour dot com.

So so check that out, listeners. Thefirsthour dot com. Order your free book and and let it start your spiritual engine. I'm just loving listening to to Mike Dylan here talk about how years ago. Just one book for a challenge for thirty days.

We're not talking about. I got to make the commitment for three hundred sixty-five days. We wanted you to get there, but start with thirty, and and just spend that hour alone with God, and His testimony, mine, Robbie's. I'm telling you guys, it will change your life. And Mark Mark's goal.

Was to get this book in in the hands of a million men, one million, and so he's given me all these books to to give out, and we're over. I think we've given out over three thousand, and we're getting ready to give another thousand out.

So, and he is. I mean, he's he's getting close to his number, and it's amazing, and and it's it's funny the the women. That are getting the book for their husbands, and he's actually going to do the same thing for the for the ladies. This book, but um, it's um, it's just an awesome thing, and uh, uh, you know, but prayer and reading your Bible is what it's about. That's where that's where it leads you to.

Right, and if you're listening today, you heard Chris's testimony, like wow, right? Yeah, you heard Jamal, you heard Mike in Ohio. It it's It's available, like you guys said. There's this abundant life. Jesus came to give you life and life abundantly, and like you can go into every day, to.

Before anybody messes with your world, okay, that's what I love about the morning, right? Before anybody gets you freaked out or anything else, before there's any drama, it's it's you and him, and he who in the world knows you better, who knows what to speak to you about, who knows how to cherish you, right? Or for you to cherish. It all works together. And then as you're reading, the other side, I like to teach.

Sometimes you're reading not for yourself. You're reading for someone else. You just didn't realize it until later that day. All of a sudden, ministry opportunity shows up, and you've got a word from God for them that came from your time being alone with God. Yeah, I've had that happen actually with both my brother and my sister.

That all of a sudden it just came alive at the very moment that they needed it.

Well, there's the event. How has gone? It is. It's Tuesday next Tuesday night, seven p.m. at the RCR.

That's a Richard Childress Racing Center in Lexington, right down fifty two. You can't miss it. There, be there.
