This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide it. Oh yeah.
A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host.
It is August the 28th. And so you might imagine that we're talking today about Romans 8:28. And you know. That all things work together for good. For those who love God and are called according to his purpose.
And that verse has probably challenged most of us at one point in time. And so the question today is. When Did that challenge you and oh my goodness, God. In the review mirror, like, oh, was he in the midst of it? And we would love, love, love to hear.
Any actual comments you might have on that verse, 866-348-7884. Excuse me, 866-348-7884 is a number to call in and share. Of course, we have Dr. Date the Word Carson, since it is certainly if there's a day to date the word, it is the 8th, the 28th day of August, right? And so I could kind of see this one coming from a mile away, and here we are.
When I first uh was doing all of this, I um of us writing down verses. on the calendar.
Well, one of the easiest of all time was 3.16, 8.28. You just knew that Romans 8.28 is going to be a verse for this date. And I've written on a couple of those like 1 Kings 8.28, but it's all basically. Everything, every 828 is a day to reflect on. How has God been working?
I write it this way: how has God been shaping my story to share his story? Because that's really what's happening with Romans 8:28. He's working all things for good.
Well, what are the good things that are going to come out of bad things? The opportunity to share the gospel? Absolutely. And we have to have that mindset. And it is a perspective.
He says, and we know. Do we know? Do we really know? Because Satan is constantly telling us, Robbie. God is not good.
God is not loving. God is not kind. If God loved you, He would not allow this to happen to you. And that was a direct quote one time that a lady told me. uh based on as her daughter was dying.
Um She heard if God loved me. I wouldn't be going through this. Hmm. 866-348. The number to call in and share your Romans 8:28 experience.
3866. I don't know why my brain is not functioning right tonight. 866-348-7884. We would love, believe me. I I love those.
testimonies and You know, clearly I can look back at what most people would have said was, Oh, that's the worst thing ever happened to you in your life. No, it was the best. Yes. Those things our worst moments become our best moments. Through Romans 8:28.
Right. You know, I can remember very vividly. That I was a Chrysler dealer in Moxville, North Carolina. and uh thought we were doing really well. And Chrysler came in to do an audit and the auditor came in my office and I was like, Hey, how are you doing?
you know, everything seemed I was in a great mood. And he was like, Well, Mr. Dilmore, you know, you're showing $600,000 more in the bank than you have. Then you have. Then you have in the bank, right?
And I was, and of course, I called my office manager, and she goes, Oh, they don't know what they're talking about. I'm like, Well, by the time it was unraveled. It was 1.3 million. Oh, wow. That was not where it was supposed to be.
Doubled. And literally. You know, the domino effect of that at that particular time. 2007, when Chrysler was going bankrupt, General Motors was going bankrupt. It was like the perfect storm.
If you happen to be in the car business, Oh, praise God. Because he was extracting me from something that. I never would have gotten out of into the career that I now have in radio and have had since. And Oh, what a blessing it has been. I never would have met you.
Who knows all the blessings that never would have happened had what I thought, you know, at the time, you couldn't have. Um From a career standpoint, anyway, I'd had the the physical setbacks in my life, and those two were amazingly beautiful based on Romans 8:28. But oh my goodness. And so it works on all sorts of levels. And we would love to hear yours.
866-348-268. Seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four 'Cause there are some tough, tough things that happen. Yes. Um Babies.
Sometimes it's a little bit of a huge difference. Still born. I've worked with couples. Got the phone call at 10 o'clock on a Saturday night. thinking I'm getting ready to hear some of the most wonderful news and He said, Dwayne, um The baby was born.
still born. And uh My heart just sank. and to walk this young couple through that valley. of so much excitement. and in the last five hours before getting to the hospital something happened.
And just like that. The baby was stillborn. Because earlier that day Everything was wonderful. And then all of a sudden, something happened. How do you explain that?
Uh my mom would die of a sudden heart attack. on Mother's Day morning. That's my wake-up call for Mother's Day.
Something's happened to your mom, you got to get out to the house. You get out there and. And Wooden's funeral home had already gotten there. What are they doing here? Oh my word And then God had to work on me 'cause I was not a happy camper.
I was twenty-eight, Robbie. And you just graduated from just graduated from Liberty. And I was not a happy camper and I told God that. Azanus. I'm not happy with you right now.
And he says, I know. But you're going to learn some things from me. I don't want to learn them. That's fine. You're going to learn some things from me.
And 2 Corinthians 1.4 became so real to me as the God of all comfort did give me comfort through that just horrible. And for you that are listening, I'm the only son in a family of four, three younger sisters. And so to be the only son, my mom. Wow. And so I began to learn a tenderness about someone losing a loved one.
And then at Liberty, I ended up being the one that so many times would go and be the one that would inform a student. that something had happened to their parent. and uh set with them, love with love on them, cry. And uh just let them know that God's going to see you through this. Because it's difficult to lose a parent when you're young, and it's real difficult as a parent to lose.
And I had to share several times with parents that they had lost loved ones.
So God used those things. I can look back and I can see how Romans 8:28 comes into play. And it really is a tremendous. Perspective that we've got a God. that is working.
He is not resting right now. He is working. Absolutely. Just likes to made mention of in his He is. There's so many things.
you know, clearly he didn't set those things up, but once they happen It's amazing how they will Bring? You know, glory to God. They do. But we know you got that story, it's burning. You got to call us.
So excited to hear at 866-348. 7884-866-348-788884. It is August the 28th. What a perfect setup to have Dr. Date the word Carson on today.
How is Romans 8.28 played out in your life? We'll be right back. Truth talk line. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to True Talk Live on 828.
We are talking about Romans 8.28 and You know, during the break, Doc had a great idea. Like, if you have a theatrical side to you and you would like to do this, I think it would be amazing. I think it would be absolutely amazing if Joseph would call in. He had some 828 experiences, you may know. Old Testament Joseph.
Old Testament.
Well, actually, New Testament Joseph. He did too. That's right. Which other Joseph, you know, if you felt like you could call in as Joseph, that might be fun. Or Job.
You know, Job, he would have an angle on Romans 8.28. I mean, yeah, on Romans 8.28 that most of us would have no idea. Or, you know, if you're a woman, you could, you could. No me? Naomi or Ruth or Hannah, they would have a story to tell.
Miriam. Like, man, my brother's going down the Nile. My mom's in denial. I'm in denial. How it all works.
866-348-7884. Wouldn't that be fun? We would love for you to do that. You might want to be a New Testament. You might want to call in as Paul.
He certainly had his own, since he wrote the verse, he knew it all too well. 866-348-7884. We would love to hear it however you want to bring it. And You know, the Bible is clearly full of examples. of this very thing just to give us an idea that, oh my goodness, was God at work?
In the book of Job. Oh my goodness, was he at work? Right, when Um I, in my devotion on this, I wrote an assurance. from God.
So, not all things will work for good, but this is the assurance. that he is letting us know. Uh You've got pain. I've got a purpose. You're going through a trial.
This trial is going to perfect you. grow you. I've got a plan for this. And what an assurance. And I did, as we were talking between break about this idea about the different people in the Bible who could call in.
I just got to think about Paul and Philippi. Oh, yeah. He got beat up. I mean, beat up and thrown in jail in stocks. And God, what are you doing?
I'm going to praise God. And as he's thinking at this point, you know, I wonder how God will work all this out. He'd already written to the Philippians later on. He would tell them when he was in jail in Rome that these things happened for the furtherance of the gospel.
Well, here he is that night, Acts 16, and all of a sudden there's an earthquake.
Well, Paul didn't call it that earthquake.
So God's working. Here's an earthquake. And the Roman soldier sees that now that jail is open, Paul and Silas have been set free. They can leave. These prisoners can leave.
That means, you know what? I'm dead. Because Roman soldier, you can't let any prisoners get away. You're going to be executed for it.
So he's going to kill himself. Hold on, no, no, don't do that. What must I do to be saved? And all of a sudden one of the first converts to the church of Philippi is a Roman soldier. All things are working for good.
Right. It just works that way. You would have been a great call-in, Doc. But when somebody could try that, 866-348-7884. Might as well, you know?
We gave them an illustration. It would be absolutely, absolutely amazing. You know, when you were talking earlier, it it You know, death is one of those that you know, it's just It's unthinkable. W people that have lost children. Um people are still struggling with protocols.
Like um You know, they have that child that is stuck in drug abuse. And how in the world could this be for good?
Well You know, if you read the book Prayers for Prodigals by James Banks, one of my good friends, you're going to find that the son that he prayed and prayed for is now a youth pastor in Wilmington. And oh my goodness. Has God used what seemed to be one of the worst tragedies you could imagine of Yeah. The The difficulty of, you know, a pastor's kid that. It goes off the rails this far.
And actually, they wrote a really neat book after he wrote Prayers for Prodigals. It was. He co-wrote it with his son. And his son was gave an explanation of the things that were going on when his dad was thinking, Oh, I raised him wrong and I did this, this, and this.
So I'm trying to remember the name of the book. But it's an amazing story because the kid, you know, James's son, Jeffrey, was just He was I wanted to try this and I was experimenting in that. It had nothing to do with my dad. It had nothing to do with my mom. These were all my decisions, right?
But, you know, of course, as our parents, you know, Satan gets in there and helps us to make our mind up that we were involved in all these different things. And so, um, I think it's Hope Lies Ahead is what I'm I'm thinking, Doc, is the name of the book. It's by James Banks, if you go to Amazon. But anyway, he wrote Prayers for Prodigals, and this other book is an amazing story. If you happen to have Hope Lies.
Ahead. Yeah, and that's by his son Jeffrey and him, you know, years after he wrote Pears for Prodigal. And if you're looking it up, it's with the G. G-E-O-F-F-R-E-Y. Right.
And, you know, what an amazing. I can't tell you the people that those stories have ministered to. over the years as a result of what looked like at the time he was going through that. Um And undoubtedly, you can't take away the pain and whatever, but all the people that the pastor has comforted since then. with the way that God comforted him, as you talk about in 2 Corinthians.
Um One of the ways I've illustrated Romans 8, 28. is with a chocolate chip cookie. Oh, yum.
Okay. We love chocolate chip cookies.
So, um I've literally illustrated this. Um I'm going to say it this way, physically, okay? by uh I was at a home with a couple their son had been killed in an awful car wreck. And uh Bereavement. Yes.
They felt so robbed. I can't imagine. And so. After we've been talking for several hours, we were in the kitchen and I told this young lady I said, Here's what I want you to do. Could you get me some flour?
Can you give me some baking soda? Can you give me some salt? And we start getting all these different ingredients. And I said, Now, do you have some chocolate? Oh, yeah.
So she And I said, okay, now I want you to take all these different ingredients, the butter, Uh put each one on a on a plate by itself. And then I want you to Eat it. Individual ingredients for chocolate chip cookie. by itself is horrible. But when you take those ingredients and you mix them up and bake it.
See, there's gonna be some heat. It's gonna be some more pain. And you put that together, all of a sudden, You get this most delicious Wow. Yeah. Chocolate chip cookie got mixes all the pain.
Together.
So we got Mike is in Dayton, Ohio. Truth Talk, Mike, you are on Truth Talk Live.
Well, thanks for taking my call. I haven't called in in a while, but I thought we had to. Good, good. Yeah, you haven't. I'm a slacker.
And uh Okay. Anyways, you know, I feel like that God has a life journey for everyone. You know? Um Even from I can go quickly. I was born again at twelve.
Went through a tornado at 14. Yeah, you did. Went in the Marine Corps at 18. Met my wife that's Went through heartache. Mike, I hate we got to go to a break, but I'm glad we're going to hear the, you know, when we left our hero.
It sounds like he's going through some heartbreak here. And so when we come back, we're going to find out what that heartbreak was. We need your story. 866-3486. 7-8-8-4.
We'll be right back with a whole lot more. 8-28. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to True Talk Live. Today is August the 28th, and as Dr.
Date the word Would tell you Romans 8, 28 says, And you know, all things work together. For good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose. And speaking of that, we got. Truth Talk Mike, but we need your call. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in, which somebody called during the break.
We lost him. Call back, please. 866-348-7884. And so we left our hero Mike.
Sounds like you were broken hearted.
Well Yeah, I was just saying um, you know, the life journey that everybody's gone through. Um you know, those those things that you feel like you need or you don't need Um What I was saying is, you know, when I was 14, I got saved, that was the greatest time of my life. I went through a tornado. I mean, 12, I would say, went through a tornado at 14, which traumatized me and everything else. Um Then, when I got an adult, I went through the Marine Corps and I was in boot camp and I was crying my eyes out and said, Why, Lord, did you put me through this?
And and um You know, finally, I was in California, met my wife at 21. You know, it's a journey and um And if you look back at all those things I just said. I'm like I am so god glad that God put me through all that. You know, and uh Um I would have real I wouldn't have caught if I didn't go through that, I wouldn't have um. Met my wife.
Wouldn't have met Robbie. I wouldn't have met Dr. Carson. I wouldn't have listened to Truth Car Tr Truth Talk Radio. Um went and went to boot camp.
And And and my question at boot camp was What next, Scott? And the reason I asked that question is because Okay, God. You put me on this journey. And where am I going next? And uh when you seek after him, And you trust him.
You you want that next journey. You want that next tornado in your life. You want a next Loved one that you're going to meet, or that next person you're going to take care of. Order. or the next person that God's gonna lead you help you lead them to Christ.
And um It's just a wonderful journey. No matter what state of life you're in, you just trust in him and believing in him and loving him. And say, okay, guys. What next? You know me?
And I think that's the way Paul with in scripture said, you know. Yeah, I'm in prison, but what next? You know, I don't care. I'll I'll I'll witness to the uh the guys that are taking care of me, you know what I mean? And uh it's it's wonderful.
I'm very curious, Mike. You said that was your question at boot camp. It was almost a year ago. Yeah. It almost sounds like y you've got a what next going on.
Yeah. I do. I got young kids all around me in my work. I mean, they're all under 30 years old. And there are there's There's some.
That I know that are really on fire for God. And and and I'm I'm I'm encouraging them and I'm Know doing that kind of thing, and there are some that are atheists that are on, you know, I mean, in our dog, and um. It's interesting to see how God's using me to be an example. You know? And it's not easy to be an example.
You got to get up in the morning and say, I want to be an example. And uh And then do I fail? Yeah. That was the other that was last that was yesterday's show. When when did I fail?
You know what I mean? When did I mess up? Yeah, I mess up all the time. But Okay. They see my heart, they see my desire.
They see who I am and what I'm doing. And And how I'm doing all things th to Christ. You know, I'm doing everything. Um It's just for for him, for God. No matter no matter what the situation is.
You know what I mean? And then believe me, in construction, you come across a lot of different situations. Yeah, there it is. Yeah, they're not fun sometimes, you know? But they're working together for good, according to Romans 8:28, just saying.
Yeah, exactly.
So, waterfall. When you nail the fingernail. All sorts of Hold his tongue.
Well when you're putting in cabinets like Mike does, one false move and Things don't line up and things don't close and things get Scorly and you got Oh, oh, I picked out these cabinets. No, you didn't. If that ever happened to you, Mike? Oh, I I thought it was this color, not that color. I thought it was this side of the door, not that side of the door.
Um Yeah, uh Every day, you know, right, right. And every one of those is just an opportunity. It just is. Uh Yeah. You know, that.
God lays it out there for you to um To work through. But anyway, I told that story once before about a customer that, you know, I told him that I love this is my go-to verse: trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean on your own understanding. You guys know that. I said, my go-to. Sure.
And I told this customer that. And um And I think I've told this story before. He says. He was going on vacation. And the vacation guy said that the house that he was going to.
What? What uh water damage and they couldn't live there or couldn't do that. And then he did only got that over the phone. And so he said, okay, God, I'm going to do that. trust in the Lord with all thy heart, kind of thing that Mike just said, you know?
And so they pulled over and prayed. and said, okay, God, what should I do?
Well, he was kinda he started a thing. that he had to fix it all himself, but he didn't. He calls back the guy and says, oh, yeah, we're going to take care of you, sir. We're going to put you in this other home. And he started to call he was going to call around and try to find another place to stay or turn around and go back home.
He didn't know what to do. But he pulled over and prayed. And he said, okay, God, I'm going to do this trust thing. And God showed him the trust thing. And it was pretty cool that the guy got into a DM how you say it, bread and breakfast thing, you know, and it was way better than the one he was gonna rent.
And it was like the Tazma hall. It had everything and anything, you know what I mean? And he was telling me all about it. And how God just blessed him because he just trusted God that time that time. And he said, Mike, I'm so glad you told me that.
because now I'm going to do that with my life. And he cried that day. And that was a customer I was making cabinets for. And Those opportunities are are Right. What next?
Divine a purpose. Yeah, divine the purpose. I appreciate it, Mike. It's so good that you decided not to be a slacker today and call in. I hope I talked okay on the other side.
Oh, you're wonderful as always, Mike. We so appreciate your call. God bless you and keep up the rest of your 828. You know, it's gonna work out. Get yourself a chocolate chip cookie.
There you go.
Okay. Can I say one more thing? I just wanna see other callers listening, and I love their testimonies. Oh, I don't know. I love their testimony.
Oh, I can't wait to hear somebody call in. Me too. Please call in and share your testimony, just like I did. 866. I'll do that.
Yeah, 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. We are with you, Mike. Everybody at the Truth Network loves our call. It uplifts me.
Yeah, it uplifts me every time I hear something. And believe you, there's been great calls on this show. I love it. God bless. Thanks, Mike.
Again, this is their chance. to share something and it does. You know, thousands of people that can hear, and you don't know where that story is going to get. You know, told in a moment that God has for somebody that where it's just exactly, oh, I heard this. That was exactly your situation.
I just heard it the other day on the radio. And oh my goodness, you know, God can use it even more to work together to make, you know, the chocolate chip cookie with salt on it, you know, or caramel, as the case may be, Don. Sea salt. We got Don is in North Carolina. Don, you are on Truth Talk Live.
Excited you called. Yes, thank you, sir. Thank you. Thank you very much. I'm a carpenter, been in carpentry for over 25 years and uh One time I had was putting vinyl siding on the house real steep roof and.
Well I goes up in the peak of the roof. And and uh I had was working and the other guy would work for me was in another peak of the roof and he couldn't get his piece figured out how to cut and get it in there to look it right.
So he asked me to come and do it.
So I climbed up the ladder and started working on the piece. I didn't check his ladder. It started falling.
So I was about twenty eight feet in or at least twenty four feet in the air. and started coming down on a ladder. I didn't know what to do. My thought was try to correct the ladder and see if it'll go back against the house. But instead it skipped out from under me and I hit my knee on concrete.
And instead of breaking my knee, it blowed my hip in half. And here I was in Charlotte Hospital for over a week, and I was laying there thinking, Lord, I'm self employed. It's only money I've gotten in. Maxed out on everything. What in the world am I going to do, Lord?
I don't know what I'm going to do. You're going to have to help me. And uh I got out of the hospital and about a week later, Uh Friend of mine called me and he says, Don, he says, I'm going out on the mission field. And he said, I've sold my business. And he said, I didn't know it when I sold it, but.
My grandson and my son-in-law, the guy's going to let them go when they're needing a job. And he said, You reckon they could come and work for you while you're down? I said, Oh man, what a blessing.
So they came over and we sat at my dining room table. And I'll try to make this quick, but we talked and they were both really, really good Christian men. And I said, well, in a couple of weeks, you know, after they put all that back together, I was walking around with the walker. And they told me I could uh, you know, walk Limited. But a retired gentleman friend of mine, he would take me out And I would go on the walker and take one of those guys with me in this climate.
But let me back up track just one minute.
Well, that same Friday that that Leroy called me A massive hailstorm came through North and South Carolina. I mean, one of the biggest ever. Destroyed every roof around. But anyway, well, hang on, Don. I hate we got to go to a break.
In a way, I'm really glad that people will hang on during the break because everybody wants to know what happened. What a story, Don. All right, hang on, Forrest. In the meantime, you got a call. We would love to hear your story, too.
866-3487884. It's Romans 8:28 day. I can hardly wait. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live.
It is. 828. August the 28th and with Dr. Date the word Carson that means Romans. Romans 828.
All things, you know, all things work together. For good, for those who love God and are called according to his purpose. And we would love your story, 866, the number to call in, 866-348-7884. We have done. who has quite the story.
Down on his with his hip, and then it, and then, oh my goodness. God's going to work. You've said something about a hailstorm, and Doc and I both looked at each other like a roofer and a hailstorm seems to be.
So, anyway, I hadn't did that many roofs. I was, I mean, I'm good at it, but I hadn't did that many. I was mostly repairs and kitchen cabinets and different things like that. But anyway, kitchen and bath renovation. But the hailstorm came through the same day.
I got home on Friday, been in the hospital a week. Got home on a Friday. I got a call from my missionary friend Leroy who was going out on Missionville. And I called the two guys that Come and visit with me on Saturday for that Friday, that same Friday night, a bad hailstorm came through.
So they agreed to come to work for me.
So on Monday morning, I had a friend of mine over here to drive me to my first. job to look at 'cause my phone was full. My answering machine was full of calls. And so we, that year, and I'm thinking laying in the hospital bed, I'm going bankrupt. This is it.
I'm losing my home. I'm losing everything. You know, what am I going to do, Lord? And I'm praying, Lord, it's going to be you. It's got to be you.
There's no way I can do it because I can't work. They're telling me I can't work for six months. You know, I can't climb a ladder for six months. You know, I can't lift anything heavy for six months. I have all kinds of bolts and screws and plates.
But anyway, I got around on that walker, and I guess people felt sorry for me. Every job I went out and estimated, I got. And we did 68 roofs in that one year. And I made more money that year than I've ever made in my whole life. Normally, I would make.
30,000, 40,000 a year. I made ten times that that year. And Paid off everything I had, got You don't underestimate God. Don't underestimate God's love for his children. And don't underestimate what he can do.
And I, you know, we've all go through things. You know, we lose our loved ones and family and But in the midst of the storm, remember there's one that walks on the water. I'm so proud to know he's my Savior, and I'm just thankful for all he's done. Give me a white ball for four years now and I I can't stop praising him. He's good.
You know that Donna it totally reminded me My dad and I were car dealers, and my father and I had just bought a dealership in Georgetown, Texas, and our new inventory had just came in. And a hailstorm came like this. That it was unbelievable. And you could imagine what those cars looked like. I mean, they were just all beat up, brand new Pontiacs.
This was like 19. Maybe nine, no, eighty, two or three. And um We thought this is it. You know, we have all our life savings tied up in these cars. You know, they're all out there.
It was, you know, pretty close to a million dollars worth of cars at that time. Oh, yeah. And we think it's the end of the world.
Well, we didn't know that people in Texas, man, when the hail comes that they know car deals are afoot. And so people just flooded in to buy these cars because they knew that they would be discounted because of the hail.
Well, the insurance company paid off. Right on all those cars, all the damage. And then the people bought all the cars at the reduced price. It was one of the greatest sales of it. It was a hell sale.
I'll never forget it. But like you said, you know. I've got tons of stories like that. I had.
Well, a week before my wife and I got married. A deer jumped off an embankment and exploded through the windshield of my car. put me in the hospital about three or four days and uh And uh But And I didn't have a vehicle. Here we were getting married. She had a vehicle.
We're having to share a vehicle. And this person just comes up to me and brings the car and parks it in my yard and says, use it as long as you need to. Just saying, he had not only had he just brought the car to me to use as long as I needed to. He went and had the engine rebuilt, the transmission rebuilt, had gone over completely so he'd know I had a good dependable car. And left it in my yard till I could buy something.
And it took me about six months. But God. provided enough money for me to buy something. Uh but anyway, he's always been there. Thanks.
Ever present help in our time of trouble. There you go.
Well, Don, I cannot tell you how you made my day. Yes. I I can I really, really I am so grateful for your call and and I'm sorry for your hip, but undoubtedly, like you said, it's since then uh I had to have a hip replacement because it wore the fall off and uh And uh But I I was having all kind of pain, but the day I came out of surgery, I had to have a Ounce of pain since so that had to be God. I mean, it's it's just amazing, and how good God's been. If uh You know, I I just can't praise him enough.
He's good. Even through the storms, he's good. All the time, my friend. Yes, he is. Thank you.
Amen. Thank you for letting me tell my testimony because he got good. Thank you, man. Thank you. It makes my day.
Yes. God bless you, sir. Have an amazing weekend. Bye bye. Wow, Doc.
Yes. Okay. What a perspective. Romans 8:28. But also working when we don't even know he's working sometimes.
But the part I love about these stories. Is the prayer. Yeah. Right? That you're down, you don't know, you don't have an answer.
God, you're going to help me. I love the way he said it. It was so humble. Like, you're going to have to do this one. I got nothing.
I've got nothings. And You know, when I heard hail, just like you talked about when you said, you know, Paul didn't make that earthquake come.
Well, certainly Don didn't make that hail come. And oh my goodness. Uh you know, there it was and his phone was full of messages. Oh. The way Romans 8.28 works many times too is.
is the surprise from God. We had no idea it was going to turn out this way. And if we were writing the story, we wouldn't write it that way. And there's there could be some young people right now listening who go through go through a breakup, a a broken engagement. And it's like, well, that's the end of the world.
And uh I thought that. And uh I I was kind of bragging one afternoon about the how the breakup was no big deal and my mom said So why were you crying? Thanks, Mom. Right, but you had said, and I think you ought to tell this story in a couple of minutes we got left, that if it hadn't been for some tragedies in Danita's life, your wife's life, you never would have met her. Yeah.
So if this other girl hadn't broke up with me, and the other 50 girls that broke up with me. But 40 years ago, Danita had a really rough summer and a really good friend of hers had been killed in a car wreck. and she went to the funeral and Steve Green sang um and and talked about your life being for the Lord and that her brother had had a uh situation with some with brain cancer that caused him to do some hallucination that caused him to jump out of a four-story hotel and break his back so she stands up at a spiritual life seminar uh meeting that we had there at liberty and shared a testimony and and i'm blown away like who is this girl and i thought i'd had a bad summer because i had a girl did break up with me that i thought i was going to marry and here she's telling this story and i'm like wow boy she's been through a lot this summer And so I prayed, Robbie, that God would bless her. And then he blessed her with me. I like to tell that part.
But you know, I've looked back at so many times. What if. David DeMoss had not been killed in a car wreck. What if her brother had not had a brain tumor? What if she had never stood up and shared her testimony?
Would I have met the most wonderful woman that I've ever met to be a part of my life? And I believe, you know, because I know. them well. Danita is like the absolute because you may not believe this, but Dr. Carson is not the most organized person in the world.
Danita is like she has his calendar, his this, his that. Like, she keeps him on track. Like, oh my goodness, everybody that has a visionary like Dr. Carson ought to have a Danita in the yes, yes, yes. But also, just you know, one of the most beautiful people I know.
