This is the Truth Network. What better way to celebrate 250 Amazing years of America the Beautiful than to watch a movie and our friends. Our wonderful Truth Network partners, these folks have been. Guests. They've been host on Truth Talk, Truth Talk Live for many, many years.
They just have a great ministry. Dr. Abinash Shaw with Clearview today, and John is with him too. And you guys, John, why don't you set it up and introduce the big guy to us? This is so exciting, man.
Absolutely. Dr. Shaw is our pastor here at Clearview Church in Henderson, North Carolina. He's a New Testament textual critic. He's a professor over at Carolina University.
He's an author. He's a full-time pastor. He's one of my best friends in the entire world, my mentor, and my pastor. And he's got an incredible, incredible story. And that is the story that I've been hearing for many years.
And now I'm very, very glad and grateful that God is using that story in America at large. Wow.
Well Dr. Shaw. This movie, there's been a lot. I've seen a lot of buzz on this movie. I want everyone listening to get it, to listen to it, to watch it.
They'll be blessed by it. Talk a little bit about what inspired this movie, Dr. Shaw. I mean, coming from India. He came to America.
There was no religious freedom. The food was terrible. It was just a horrible Western culture. Everyone was mean to you. It was just, it was terrible.
You got beaten, put in jail. Is that kind of how it goes, Dr. Shaw? Give us a quick update. Where am I wrong?
Well, actually, all the opposite of everything you said. I mean, I came to America. You know, I grew up in a Christian home in India. Dad was a pastor, and he wanted me to go to one of our denominational schools to have two years of Bible. I mean, that was.
Reason for my coming, and then he said you can come back, go to medical school, go to aeronautics, do whatever you want to do. Just two years of Bible college, because I want you to be grounded in scripture. And so that brought me to America. And And then lo and behold, God Worked in my life in such a way that I knew that I was called to go in the ministry. And so Has been the trajectory of my life.
I grew up in a Christian home, came to America. And then realized that not only was God calling me into ministry, but also God was calling me to be a citizen of the United States. And it was, it's just the value system here. This nation being founded upon Judeo-Christian values, it is so different than anything out there. anywhere in the world.
And I have fallen in love with that. And that's what was at the heart of communicating to people. that this nation is still one nation under God. And it is God's gift to us. Amen.
And John, you've been pumping this thing hard. You guys are doing a great job on social. I hear your national radio show, Clearview Today, one of my favorite shows, your journeying through Nehemiah. But then you also interject some amazing clips like your interview with Bill Federer, the Christian historian, which is sensational. I'm not going to give away too much of it.
But, John, title of this documentary movie, For our listeners and how they can get it, there's a lot of people watching some great movies. There's some great movies on, there's one on George Washington coming out. There was a movie called A Great Awakening about some of the spiritual roots that was out recently. Everyone should see that for sure. But this is wonderful because it profiles one man's journey into a country.
That was really life-changing and reflective of those very roots that these other movies are celebrating. John, set it up, the name of the movie, how people can get it, and then let's and then throw a softball for Dr. Shaw to hit out of the park about why everyone should go, will you? Absolutely. Well, the name of the movie is called Our Favorite Undertakings, and it's the English translation of this Latin phrase that we actually see all over our money, all over America, over that little symbol of the pyramid with the eye.
And that phrase in Latin is annuit cosceptus. coeptus, which means literally he has favored our undertakings, which is a very simple message. It means that God is at the foundation of everything that makes this country work. You know, Doctor Shah has been saying that to me personally for years. And as someone who was born here, it was Very easy for me to take all of this for granted.
I just assumed that this is how the world works. This is very normal. Hearing Dr. Shuff's story, and especially his father's story, was an eye-opener for me. And I felt like this is a story that needs to be told.
I've heard it countless times, but America deserves to hear it because sometimes it takes I hate to say an outsider, but it takes someone from the outside to come in and tell you that what you have is very special. And seeing Dr. Shaw's genuine love for this nation and for not only this nation, but the values that this nation is built on has influenced my life as a Christian. Dr. Shaw, would you agree with that?
Oh, 100%. You know, growing up, my dad would often talk about that. You know, America is such an amazing gift. It's like nothing else in the world. And we would hear that and we would believe him.
But coming here, I realized. Man, what an amazing nation. The foundation of this nation is on Judeo-Christian values, the liberties that we have, the value for life that we have, the traditional morality regarding marriage. All these things are part of what makes America what it is. And so when I hear people say, oh, America is this and that and the other, I'm like, yes, we have our faults.
But trust me when I say. There's no place like here. And I feel like, as a pastor and as someone who loves this country, I want us to return to that 2 Chronicles 7:14 principle, which is. If my people called by my name will humble themselves, pray, Seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, and I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land. And I believe that we can definitely claim that as a blessing for.
For America, that our land needs healing, and it only happens when we come back to God. And America can be that nation. A city on a hill. Amen. And Dr.
Shaw and John, you all watch the news. You're not blind to all the posts. It seems like. There's a strong negative force out there that says, oh, America is full of male toxicity. America is full of people that are trying to oppress and force their religion on others.
And then there's this rise of socialism that basically is one of the most anti-God world views there is because it basically says man is the center of everything. And government should be God, and all this, and these young people are clamoring to that. Dr. Shaw, speak some. Speak some sober words to us about the importance, piggybacking on what you just said about returning to God's word, returning to first principles.
No, we're not perfect. Yes, we've got a long way to go, but really, what the country needs is Jesus. And apart from him, you could be a well-meaning Democrat and you could be a hardworking Republican. But if you don't have Christ, you're on your way to a criseless eternity. Doc, can you expand on that thought and give us a word of your prayer?
for America here at this 250 year mark. Absolutely. As much as we love America, a lot of people I know man, oh, I love America. I've said that's great. But tell me, let me tell you something that's even more important than loving America, and that is loving Jesus Christ.
Because He loves you, He gave His life for you, and what you need in your life is Jesus Christ. And we just talked about socialism. In one of my interviews with Bill Federer, he talked about that.
Socialism does not like Christianity. Because Christianity believes in the dignity of every human being. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes, everyone is precious in the sight of God.
Socialism is completely contrary to that. And that's why one of the first things they want to do in social Marxism is get rid of religion, which is really get rid of Christianity. And so my encouragement to people is, man, watch this movie. The interviews will impact you. And the way John, John is really the director behind this movie, the way he has woven my story and my dad's conversion from Islam to Christianity.
And then laid out the values that make America so wonderful. It impacted me. The first time I watched. the whole product I was like Wow. And Our hope is not only will you fall in love with America, But our prayer is that you will fall in love with Jesus Christ.
Amen. And I know that's the passion of your whole ministry at Clearview Church, your radio program, your podcast. It beams all over the country. We're so grateful for you, Dr. Shaw, preaching the truth.
Amazing that America has given. An Indian from India, from far, far, far away, thousands of miles away, the freedom to come in and thrive. And you don't put a gun to people's heads and say, come to my church, convert to Christ. It's the marketplace of ideas. Muslims can come to America and worship.
Hindus can come to American worship. And the beautiful thing about freedom. And capitalism in our model and our free markets is it allows folks to voice their opinions without being canceled.
Socialism immediately will shut down anyone that disagrees with the people at the top. It's not about the people, it's about a powerful center of control. Look at every country that's gone that route from China to Russia, and it's ended up in absolute devastation and religious persecution. But thank God for the freedoms we have here in America that we can go evangelize. We can invite our Muslim friends to find Jesus, just like your father found Christ.
Hey, John, I'm going to let you close us out with a shout-out for the movie one more time. The title of the movie, The way folks can watch it and view it, because I want this to spread like crazy. And the website for your ministry, real quick, give it to us as we get out of here. Absolutely. So first and foremost, I want to thank you and thank Dr.
Shaw for the very kind words. He gives me way too much credit because it's very easy to walk a straight line when you have a leader who's paved a straight road for you. And I think that of you as well. The movie, as far as being distributed, it's going through a number of platforms right now. A lot of those platforms are in flux.
We're still in discussion with a lot of the distribution platforms, but one of them for certain is Prey.com. It's going to be available there. We held the premiere right here at Clearview on June 28th. That was last Saturday. I mean, last Sunday night at 6 p.m.
right here at Clearview. But as far as distributing it online, it will be available on Prey.com. And there are lots more distribution platforms that we're still in discussion with that will be coming. But our goal is that by July 4th weekend, so by the time you're listening to this recording, it will be everywhere. And so we'll include those in the show notes.
We'll include those in the email blasts. We had lots of great interviews from Mike Huckabee, Bill Federer, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick over the Lieutenant Governor of Texas. An amazing, amazing time. Dr. Shaw was able to speak with these men.
And so I was blessed by it. And we know the audience is going to be blessed by it as well. Amen. Name of the movie one more time. It's called Our Favored Undertakings.
It's a documentary celebrating 250 years of American independence. Our Favored Undertakings. True to the blood. I'm not sure if I can do it.
