This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth. I can hide it, I can hold it. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing, I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Mm.
It is. June the 1st, but in the world of date the word. With Dr. Date Thorard Carson, that would be 6-1. And many of you may know.
That In Isaiah 6:1 is one of the most remarkable. Most I don't know, breathtaking moments in all of Scripture. And when it comes to the Bible here at Truth Talk Live, we don't just read the Bible. We let the Bible read us. And so when you think about Isaiah 6:1, it says.
in the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne. High and lifted up, and the train of his robe filled The temple. You see one death and one revelation. A king falls. And the true king.
is revealed.
So the question that we would love for you to call, and believe me, we would love for you to. to hear You to call in at 866-348-7884. When has your world something died, something was taken away, something shook yours, and all of a sudden, as a result, you saw God more clearly. I mean, that's clearly what happened to Isaiah here. The rug was kind of pulled out from underneath him.
He was. Thinking that You know, the the The kingdom of Judah was secure under Uzziah, and all of a sudden. You know, he knew what the lineup was. It was, you know. I'm not going to make comment to what all he saw unless he saw that the lineup was not what it once was.
And so he was shaken. And then the next thing, you know, God comes through. And I don't know if you ever thought about what Ezekiel saw, you know, two, a couple of chapters later, right? He was. One of the exiles in the ch in Ezekiel chapter 1, of course, you know, we're He he says something very similar, right?
He was one of the exiles. On his way out of Jerusalem. And when he sees his vision, his world has been totally annihilated, and all of a sudden God shows him something. And so, when did that happen to you? 866-348-7884-866-348-774747474747.
Seven, eight, eight, four, and so it's it's six one, Doc. It sure is. And uh Isaiah six One. comes to the forefront. There's some great Chapter sixes And Galatians 6, 1 is a great verse.
And Galatians 6, tomorrow I'll focus on Deuteronomy 6, where you're supposed to teach your children and your grandchildren.
So I there's great chapter sixes, Ephesians six. Uh but Isaiah six. And then Isaiah. Um A difficult moment. became a defining moment.
You're reading Isaiah And it's not doing a whole lot for you. And then all of a sudden, you come to chapter 6. In the year King Uzziah died. That's a defining moment. It's the end of a era.
We've got a difficult thing happening here. Who's going to now be in charge? And how do we move forward? And we've had all this stability. Isaiah could have seen a lot of things.
But he writes, I saw the Lord. And there's certain verses, Robbie, I don't know, they just captivate you when you read those words. I saw the Lord. And how did he see the Lord? Sitting on a throne.
Now there's authority, there's power. their stability. The throne. The throne Floor of God is righteousness. It's not gonna move.
It's a firm foundation. But then he's high and lifted up. There's incredible worship taking place. Just incredible worship happening. Um What did Isaiah see?
And what did it do to him? And that becomes the rest of the story. Because this is going to be the defining moment for this man. And you and I were talking before this show started. What would it be like to sit down with a biblical character and have dinner and say, Tell us about your experience with God, Isaiah's experience.
This is incredible. It's going to change so much by what he sees, but then what he hears. Which leads him to then Here am I. Send me five words. That's the real defining moment.
But it all started with. A very difficult moment.
So I'm curious that we have listeners. You've had a difficult moment, but all of a sudden, in that difficult moment, That difficult moment, God showed up. You saw God in a way you'd never have seen Him before. And. It became a defining moment in your life.
866. Three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight Seven, eight, eight, four. Yeah. Yes, yes. I mean, I bet you've had it happen.
I certainly have had mine. Yeah. You know, for those who know, I I used to be the crystal dealer in Moxville and I can tell you when my office manager, you know, all of a sudden, you know, Chrysler came in. one day after they did the audit. And they said, Robbie, you know, you're showing $600,000 more in your checking account than you have.
Mm-hmm. That's a defining moment, okay? I'm just saying, you know, it was, it was like, oh my goodness. And I. called my office manager in and it took You know, about six weeks for me to figure out what really In the world, was going on, but what was going on?
It wasn't 600,000 that was missing, it was over a million dollars. And it was missing. And I was responsible, and I had employees, and I had. you know, stockholders and I had all sorts of interesting you had no idea what that audit was going to reveal. Oh.
And believe me. It led to some Really Wonderful. prayer experiences that only happen When the total rug has been pulled out from underneath you. And I can remember I went to see Pete Brunstedter, who was an attorney friend of ours, taught Sunday school with him, and I went into his office and he said, Do you know Robbie? It would cost you over six hundred thousand dollars just to declare bankruptcy.
Just and that won't get you out from underneath the most of the debt that you have. And he goes, if I were you, I'd go climb under a rock somewhere and hide because they're all coming after you. And then, see, It was a criminal act that I didn't do that caused the debacle, but nonetheless, there it there it all was. And Interestingly Right? one of the most beautiful experiences in my whole life.
Right? Was The day that I was turning the lock in the door, this is a true story. I was turning the lock in the door at Westside Chrysler Dodge G. to turn the like the place is gone. The lights have been turned off.
Lights are turned off. I'm walking out the door. I'm putting the key in the door. And up drives none other than Stu Upperson. And Stu looks at me, and I don't have a job at this point in time.
I got nothing going on. And I'm wondering, you know, even how, because. I think I Our house is being foreclosed. We have nothing. We don't even have a car.
I'm a Christian car guy with no car. And Stu walks up and he has no, he's oblivious to the fact that there's no cars in the lot. I'll never figure that one out. Like, why didn't he mention, like, Robbie, how come you don't have any cars on the lot? The showroom has nothing to show.
Right. And he says, Robbie, do you know where I could find a sales manager? And I was like. I do. I know a guy.
It was a defining moment. How about yours? 866-348-3. 7-8-84-866-34 TRUTH. It is 6-1 Isaiah 6-1 today.
We would love to hear from you. We'll be right back. Truth, talk, lie. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today is It's June the 1st.
How exciting is that? Summer is beginning, but we're talking today about Isaiah 6:1, since I happen to be with Dr. Date the word Carson. And. What an amazing...
Beginning of summer, that was for Isaiah in his own way that. We were talking about The closer we get to God, the more evident our sin becomes.
So he sees God enthroned. Yes. And Of course, we know that the unclean lips thing is coming. Yeah. Once he hears the worship.
And he's seeing God lifted up, and then he's hearing holy, holy, holy. And uh that that's not just a hymn. That's what they're singing to ascribe to God. This is your character, you are holy. Pure.
Uh nothing about you is unclean at all. Isaiah's going to start feeling like I don't belong here. Woe is me I mean, that's one of the strongest self-condemnation statements you can make. Whoa. Yeah.
Maybe. Um I need help. He knows he can't. Hey, can I run home and change? I've been in some places before, Robbie.
Maybe you've been in some places where all of a sudden you realize I'm not dressed for the occasion. Mama told me not to come. 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. What does that ring in your heart?
You know? It brings up thoughts of, wow. Um God revealed himself to me in in And and there it was, my world had been shaken. And something miraculous happened. Yeah.
And it and The amazing thing is that It really is like a defining moment in your life. It changes.
Well the direction that changes the what because of what Again, he saw his sin, but then Clearly you know, it was pretty amazing. that God had a solution for him. Yeah. Now, because once he cried out, woe is me. God did what only God can do.
And that angel cleansed him with the however that works with the tongues and Mm-hmm. Fire from the altar. Fire from the altar. And now There's a whole new level Robbie of listening And I don't know if you've ever experienced that. where all of a sudden your listening went way up Adrian Rogers, the great preacher out of Bellevue.
He said people would come up to him and say, Oh, doctor Rogers, your preaching is getting so much better And he'd chuckle and he'd say, Well, thank you. But deep down inside, he's thinking, no, my preaching didn't get better, your listening got better. And I can resonate with that. There've been times where I didn't think somebody had a whole lot to say, and then all of a sudden. My listening got better.
And Isaiah's listings got a whole lot better. It's like Um hey, wh what's God talking about over there? Ah, I wonder who we can send. Boy, we got this big assignment. and the Trinity's talking to each other.
Who And Isaiah's like, wait a minute. Hey, guys, over here. Over here. Here am I. Put me in, coach.
Put me in, coach. You need someone to. I can clean up. I'll do it. And but but he's only doing that.
because of all the other things that have taken place from verse one. that difficult moment is going to lead to multiple defining moments.
So we're looking for a caller here, Robbie. A defining moment. 866-348. 7884-866-348-7884. That idea of.
Right, that we get a chance to. hear from, see from God, you know, is is Jesus told us in John seventeen, excuse me, in Luke seventeen, When they ask him, you know, where is the kingdom of God? The Pharisees ask him that? And Jesus didn't tell them. You know, excuse me, they said, when?
When's it coming? When's it going to be here? You know, tell us exactly the day, you know, and people want to know that. But he didn't tell them when, he told them where, which is exactly what happened in Isaiah here. Is it Oh my goodness.
It wasn't when it was where and he got a chance to be there. Because what Jesus said was true, that the kingdom of God was within him. And it is within you. With the Holy Spirit now, because He sent you the helper to help you. And obviously, Jesus is in us, and we're in Him, and the God, you know, it's an amazing thing when you really think about all that Isaiah saw.
To some extent all of that Is totally available to us in our heart and in any given moment that we choose to. Truly. you know, push in and see if we have those ears to hear.
Well, I do find in my own personal walk, Robbie, I don't know about yours, but in my personal walk, there are times when. Um Coming to God's Word. coming to places where I'm hearing God's word. proclaimed Um it it's like um going to the doctor for the uh physical Examination. And they're going to do probing.
They're going to examine things and take blood and all these things so they can really diagnose exactly how I'm doing in my physical life.
Well I don't like some of that stuff. And when I come to God's word and I have that mindset of search me, O God, examine me, O God. I picture Isaiah 6. Because that's this closeness to God. Because if he's up close.
He can see exactly what's going on in me, but It's also I'm getting to see what he wants me to be. And I do find myself Sometimes resisting that. I don't want that defining moment. And and there have been times when It's not just the defining moment that Isaiah is now serving God. We love Isaiah 6:8.
But to get to Isaiah 6.8, you got to go from 6.1 into that 6.3 and 6.4 and 6.5 where he's crying out, Woe is me. And some of our defining moments is when we decided to renounce a sin. Not just repent, renounce. Absolutely beautiful thing that, you know, one night, not terribly long before the incident that I just described was due. Probably maybe a year and a month or so before.
It was right before I started doing a Christian Cargai show because I started doing it before I lost the dealership. I was praying one night, and Jesus showed up. I guess He gave me the ears to hear. Hmm. And he showed up in a way that was actually startling and almost terrifying.
Which is unusual for me. I'm not used to him showing up and me being actually like, whoa, like I could like the fear of the Lord was the word. And he said, Robbie, what do you want? Because I was praying. Mm.
And I glibly just said. I want to serve you. It was Glib. I know. And he.
You know, this all happening in my spirit and how I felt was going He kind of gave me this look, and he kind of said, Do you? But he didn't say it in a condemning way, it was just a question. Do you? And when he did, I realized that when they tell you that they have files and all these books on your whole life. I know, there's no doubt in my mind that's true because all of a sudden I started to see incident after incident after incident.
I mean, they all showed up right in front of my face, like. you were supposed to call this person. He'd put it on my heart to make this You know, to reach out to this, to take that person to lunch. And they were just, I mean, thousands of them were coming at me just like boom, boom, boom. My whole life flashed before my eyes.
Oh, yeah, it's exactly what happened. And my sin, believe me. was laid right out there. And it was really not condemning, but It was almost like, oh my goodness. I can do these I can repent.
It was like I'm not condemnation. Right. Confiction. Big difference. It was an amazing thing.
How about you? 866-348-7884 We would love to hear your story. Truth taught life. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today.
Yeah. Which makes it in date the world Time and place, Isaiah 6:1, which is just, you know, one of the small. amazing passage where king In the year that King Uzziah died. Right? Isaiah's giving us.
He's been a king for 52 years. Yeah. They'd had Yeah. All these years and now Obviously, Isaiah's in a new place. And God gives him something Just absolutely miraculous.
The idea of seeing his sin, the idea of here I am, send me. All these opportunities are all in front of us all the time. 866-348-7884. When was your. King Uzziah moment.
We have Mike. Is in Dayton, Ohio.
Some people call him Truth Talk Mike.
So Michael When was your King Uzziah moment? Yeah. Well, this was yeah, I maybe it's a stretch, but hopefully not. I just had a dog pass away on Thursday. Right lady.
I'm sorry. That's okay. Um well, thank you. Um And that dog was really close to me. It slept in my bed, it slept next to me.
And doctor Carson's kept showing pictures of his dog in the seat and that kind of kind of yeah, his dog is sitting there going somewhere with him. Yeah, and um that was the kind of dog I had. And It got poisoned and from the neighbor. I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't say that, but it got poisoned somehow, rat poisoning.
and I couldn't save her and um Okay. it was really hard. And um that was Wednesday or Thursday of l this last week. And then Um Makita on Truth Talk Live start talking about heaven. And uh that got me out of that funk.
Um where our hope is not in this world and and and the things of this world, but our hope is in in the next world, the eternal life. And it really did Helped me get over the hump with that by hearing him talk about having. And me reminiscing about God, about my dad, and what he said about heaven, and what do you think about heaven? And, you know, I always I said to God the other day, I says, Well, will I see Chica again? He says, No, but I can make another one just like her.
And I'll never forget that God said that to me. And It really helped me. Um I just really you know how you almost want to just kind of like Man, this world stinks. You know what I mean? It's just every time you turn around, there's something else that's.
That this kind of brings you down. And that's, you know, I know that's a devil, but. You know, that's why we have a Savior that just that died for us because of those things. And, um We we get multiple reminders that this world is not our home. And uh this is a fallen world.
Um boy Death of a uh of a Friend, death of a family member, death even of a special animal. Uh I I hate death. It's like, ugh. One day it's going to all end. Yeah, and then I think that's what he was taught.
I mean, that's the verse, right? He was something happened death-wise, the king died. Yeah, he died. Yeah. Yeah.
And I know it's a little stretched, but you know. No, it's not stretched. Yeah. That there it is. A ground shaker, but at that point in time, believe me, you know, I guess that's why it's.
You know, kind of. Crucial that when we're doing funerals, that we bring the gospel out because it's at those times that people think. About things eternally rather than what's happening tomorrow. That all of a sudden. Heaven becomes a lot more important when somebody you just lost is is gone now.
Hebrews nine twenty seven Comes into play more at a funeral than any time else. A man is appointed wants to die. And that's going to happen. There seems to be a betting average God has on that one that's 99.99999, because I do believe Enoch did not die, and I believe Elijah did not die. Two did get to escape somehow that taste.
God has the right to do that. Uh but everyone else he's betting uh almost a thousand on And uh there's coming a day, each one of us will. Fall asleep in the Lord or we will die. And that's a difference right there, Robbie. Person who dies without the Lord, they're going to experience a second death.
But that for you, for me, knowing the Lord, Mike, knowing the Lord, it's to fall asleep. I just had a sweet, dear lady. 91 years of age, last Friday night, as she was going to bed, she said to her grandson, I don't. think I'll be here in the morning. And um She was in hospice.
She knew. And and she and he said, Now, Granny. God's in control. She said, I understand. But I just I'm just telling you, I don't think I'll be seeing you in the morning.
physically. And uh sure enough, When he went into her room that morning, she had fallen asleep. and the Lord. What a way to go. Yeah.
You know, as the as the older we get, we see more death. You know, and you know, and that's not my first dog that died, but that was a dog that I used to walk in the backyard with and get on the phone and talk to Truth Talk Live. I'd watch her go around and sniff and pee as as the Lord was speaking to me and and talking to you guys, you know what I mean? And uh You know, and then when I was soon as I put my phone in my pocket, the dog knew that it was time to go back in. And, you know, it's just.
One of those beautiful moments that God gave me every time. And um Mm-hmm. You know, it's just uh you know, the other day the uh A friend of mine passed away, both Townsend Ford. He passed away. He was a good friend of mine.
I remodeled his house. I remodeled his office. I bought cars from him. Um He was a good man. He helped people.
He just didn't sell cars. He helped people. And um and and he was a wonderful person. But you know, it seems like Yeah, I was just going to say the really neat thing about the Isaiah story, and while Mike's talking, if that brings something to your heart, you call us. 866-348-7884.
But the neat thing about Um Isaiah's story is Uzziah was a great king. But what was coming up for Isaiah was in fact better. Hezekiah Was off the hook a good king. Right? And when you think, those experiences that, that, that.
Isaiah went through here. Right. Preceded Hezekiah becoming king. And Hezekiah, there's no doubt in my mind, I was talking to Dr. Carsten about it.
One of the reasons Hezekiah was such a great king is one of his best friends was Isaiah. And so it's like, I'm going to go have dinner tonight with Isaiah. Like, can you imagine? I mean, it was just like, wow, no wonder. I mean, Hezekiah had the counsel and the understanding because.
God had something even more amazing for Hezekiah as he walked into the next season. And I think we can look forward to that too because we know the best is yet to come, right? We're going to get. A good counselor, then we're going to get the wonderful counselor. That's beautiful, right, Mike?
Too great is. It is beautiful. And, you know, I just yeah, I just It's just awesome. I have no words. You know, I'm sorry.
No, no, it is. It got us. God is. Um giving us something that we we We're going to be able to enjoy it forever. And people like you in my life.
Um, that had it not been for all the shenanigans with the dealership, I mean, seriously. Yeah. I wouldn't have had Dr. Carson. I wouldn't have had you.
God knew that. This is a season. This is another season. And when this season's over, he's got something. The Romans 8.28, I just had a waiter.
His birthday was 8.28. And I said, oh, man, do I have a great verse for you? Romans 8.28. For all things work together for good to those who love the Lord. And so God has that way of taking The mass and turns it into a masterpiece and you look back and you see, man, look how he ordered my steps.
How cool is that?
Well, we got Dennis is in Utah. How fun is that? Dennis, you're on True Talk Live. I'm going to try to make this short. It's really uh affected me and my family.
My daughter about ten, twelve years ago was hit by a UTA bus in the middle of an intersection.
Now, I'm going to lay it out quick. I was just uh A newcomer to Christ. I knew about Christ a long time, but I started going to a church that was close to my house. If you know Utah pretty well, it's hard to find a regular church.
So There's plenty of churches, just not the one you're after. But anyway, long story short, Madar was hit. Uh the miracle started then. The uh Wow. The EMTs were just right close having lunch, and they grabbed her, took her up to the University of Utah Hospital.
We got a chance to get up there. before they had to take her into surgery.
Now I'm going to tell you all the things that happened. She lost she had to put a rod in her leg, she had to replace her left jaw. with metal. Her head had to be opened up. They had to take half of her skull off and put a pipe in the other side.
for uh swelling of the brain. I'm trying to make this fast, because I don't know how long I have, but.
Well, we've got another whole segment after this one.
So you just. We want to hear this is. This has got at work.
So you give us the details. That's great. All right. Anyway, she was in really, really, really bad shape. We stayed overnight at the hospital.
The second night we stayed at the had they had a hotel there. It's hard to find a Bible when you open the door and drawer and there's a Book of Mormon. Just doesn't quite do it. No. Thank God I had a Bible in my truck.
I hate to interrupt, but how old was your daughter when this happened? Uh about twenty-four okay oh my goodness. Go ahead. And, you know, there's I'm going to write a book about it because there's a lot of things that went on with the state that they tried to do things and Because it was uh You know, it was the state that did it. The the woman driving didn't even see her, just rolled right over.
But anyway, uh her stomach, they lost her spleen. There's a lot of other things that uh she can no longer have children. But anyway. We thought we were going to lose her, and on the third day, The doctor came in, and my family was all there. My kid, my son.
Dennis, I'm going to stop you there because we got to go to a break. But that's a good place. Believe me, you've got to stay with us because I know all the world is wanting to know. What's going on? And if you've got something, you can call us 866-348-7884.
We got more Adenis, more Mike. When we come back, stay tuned. Truth. Uh why Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today is 6-1.
The first of June, and we're talking about Isaiah 6:1 in the year that King Uzziah died, and things get shaken up, but Isaiah gets to see God in a way. that um changed the world. And so when we left, we had a dentist from Utah describing an absolutely a difficult moment. Yeah, a very, very difficult moment where his daughter's been struck by a car and it's been three days when we left you, Dennis. Go ahead and Take it by a bus, I believe.
She was struck by a UTA bus. Yeah. Uh Anyway. The reason why I'm bringing up the third day is it was pretty important. The third day went through half that day.
And there were some other things that were done to her. They had her belly opened up and then covered up with that new thing, new device that they l used in the military that kind of vacuums her off.
So she was looking pretty spread out and Pretty bad. She had went through eleven pints of blood and uh I was sitting with my family, and I got up to go to the restroom, and I looked at the doctor that was overseeing everything, and he I asked him if there's any hope, and he just looked at the floor.
So I went into the sanctuary and I told God, I said, Please let me have my daughter and uh I will become a pastor. And uh That was insignificant at that point because I was anything said, I had a all I had was a little pocket Bible and I left that there because there was no Bibles in the in the hospital sanctuary. Uh, it seems like there's a big deficit here.
Okay. Anyway, uh long story short. I went back in. After saying that, I went back in and my son was just shaking because the same doctor had talked to my family saying there was no hope. I turned to him and said, It'll be all right.
Just those terms. At that point. I felt something. I just it was like Not a hand or anything, but just something internal. When I told him it would be all right, I knew it would be all right.
So I guess it's fair. And shortly 15 minutes after, the same doctor came in and said things had turned around, she stopped bleeding. Uh my daug my daughter's finished college. uh she didn't get the uh that's a story for another uh time, but uh I have uh went through two years of uh uh uh theology school uh at a church and uh I do have a degree, associate degree. And anyway.
It was a change in my life, believe me.
So I want to thank you and have a difficult moment because it was absolutely defining moment. Wow. Absolutely defining moment.
So. Your daughter finished college?
Well, she did start. You know, I mean, she went through a lot of recovery. I can imagine. There was a lot. And.
She didn't get much from the the state. because the state has a deal where Uh they've taken it to the Supreme Court and it wasn't her fault. I mean, she was hit in the middle of a crosswalk, so But uh Yeah, she finished college as a sociologist and uh I'm trying to keep my promise of being a pastor, but I'm not really a good Very good preacher.
So Well, I can tell you that some of the best pastors out there That I've ever met. We're not necessarily preachers, right, Dr. Carson? You just got to be faithful bringing the word and his word, his word does not return void. And thank you for your ministry out there in Utah because it is, that's a tough place.
Well, let's pray for. Yeah, it is. Let's pray for Dennis. Lord, I thank you for Dennis. And thank you for the miraculous recovery.
It's unbelievable. And Lord he feels a call in his life to be a pastor. And so we just pray that you would show him Um help him to Partner with you in the direction you would have for his ministry, wherever that may be. that he would um that you would tune his ears to hear what you have for him next. What Ministry you might make available to him, what door you might open.
Lord, we pray that he would see you high and lifted up again, and that you would continue to bless his daughter as you saved her life for some amazing things. And we're excited to know what that is. And so, Lord, again, I thank you for the miraculous call, for the miraculous. Salvation in the whole situation, and again, that your will would be done in Dennis's life and his family. In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen. Amen. Thank you. Thank you, Dennis. That call makes my day.
It does. God bless. Wow. Doc. That's the Isaiah six moment right there.
Isaiah 6 1. Mm. Yeah, I can't imagine. My daughter's hit with a bus. Yeah.
And I have a twenty. right this minute. You know, my old my youngest daughter, I think, is 24 so I can definitely you know, just like, oh my goodness. Um But whatever age, you know, But God does so many different things to get our attention. Um I'm thinking about a friend right now.
That where his grandmother just passed away, at the funeral he said, this is the end of an era. Yes. But it's the beginning of a new one. She has passed. And yes, she was the matriarch of the family.
But now he's got opportunity. And I've seen this happen many times where there is this oak that's ready to grow. but it's being overshadowed. But when that big oak falls the new oak just takes off. And that's what happens with Isaiah.
He is going to take off. And like you said, he becomes this great counselor, prayer warrior with Hezekiah. And Hezekiah is going to bring about great revival, not just reform.
Some people call it reform. No, they had great revival under Hezekiah. And um It was greatly needed in Judah. And then there came that day when Hezekiah had the rug pulled out from under him because After these deeds of faithfulness, if I can just say this to our listeners, Hezekiah. After deeds of faithfulness will face Sennacherib.
We keep thinking if our if we just keep living right, we'll have everything go right.
Well, that's not the case with Hezekiah. As great as he was, as good as he was, he still had the enemy attack. And here comes Sennacherib, and he goes and prays. Right, he lays it out. And Isaiah prays with him, and they lay it before the Lord.
And if you go look at that prayer and you study it. there's an amazing thing what he says. When he begins to describe God, he says, who's enthroned between the cherubim. Right. Now understand he'd been having dinner with this guy who saw God enthroned between the cherubim on many occasions.
And so for him, his faith was real. And he said that there is a when you read that prayer, you're going to see he's saying you are God. This other guy thinks there's gods for every territory, but there's only one. And the rest of these are made by hands. And so you do it.
And what happens? 185,000 soldiers of snack ribs died that next day. Yeah. And But more than that, if you really think about it, the whole world changed as a result of one prayer. Mm.
The whole world changed because At that point in moment in time, Assyria was the number one empire in the world. But you take out 185,000 of his soldiers, and of course his own people killed him shortly thereafter. And then comes a man by the name of Nebuchadnezzar. And now rises the Babylonian Empire. Right.
And God had something for that generation as well. And so it's a beautiful thing that when you think about it. Like, man. We have that same firepower that Hezekiah. Exactly.
Within us. That same God Right? We've had dinner with Isaiah in our own way if you spend some time in the book. Yeah. Right.
You can experience what Isaiah experienced, but like we talked about at the beginning of the show. Don't just let the Bible read. Just don't read the Bible. Let the Bible read you. No.
Have dinner with Isaiah. Read Isaiah 6. June has started. The sixth month is here. And it is 6-1.
But for the month of June, get into Isaiah 6. And I do. I pray for Isaiah moments. I pray for Isaiah moments with my friends, for my friends. Because I want people to get close to God, because I know that closeness will bring about a cleanliness.
If they are willing to con confess, And and and we just talked a little bit about ago, Bribby, about you had that moment with God. and your sins becoming real and and there is a sense of condemnation But it's not really condemnation. The word is conviction. And that's how the Holy Spirit works. He convicts us.
So that we will live right. And the response to conviction is always confession. If we'll confess our sins, He's faithful and just. But the repentance is f you know, the the thing about that night is I really looked forward to doing what God really wanted me to do, just like the prodigal son was on his way to eat steak rather than pig food. Right.
He didn't know he was going to get steak. When you truly repent, he didn't know, but he was on his way to eat steak, right? Yes. But when you truly repent and you begin that process of walking with God in repentance that I had in that moment. I was so excited because I felt like Isaiah.
Oh, he's going to send me. I thought I was, you know, disqualified, but instead. based on what he walked with me in. He showed me the way to truly Um do what he wanted and I was it was not It was not one of those nights you might think. It was one of the most glorious nights of my life.
And again, it's available to all of us all the time. If we will, right? seek him with all our heart. My prayer is for our listeners to see the Lord high and lifted up. Let your difficult moments become defining moments.
We'll see you tomorrow. Thank you.
