This is the Truth Network. What happens when a whole bunch of Christian leaders And even politicians get together and read the Bible. All the way through. In Washington, D.C., at the Museum of the Bible.

Well, we caught up with one of those. Leaders, and his name is Alex McFarland. Alex, there you were, Bible open, reading God's word. For the whole world to see, they had this thing recorded, every bit of it, at the Museum of the Bible. Brother, take us into the moment.

What was it like? Wow.

Well, thank you for asking. And Steve, it's great to be with you. Oh, it's great to fellowship with you, my dear brother. You know, one of the greatest honors of my life as a Christian was to be in our nation's capital. Uh, and to be asked to read God's word, and I was, I was just right after Ben Carson.

And he and his wife, and then David Barton, and his wife and son, they read passages of scripture. And there were so many wonderful, you know, from every field of endeavor. I mean, there were ministers, there were actors, and singers, and many, many, many elected officials. I ask about reading. And uh they said, uh what passage do you want?

And of course, you know, I thought about, well, John chapter 3, Jesus and Nicodemus, or I thought about maybe Revelation 22, the closing words. And you know what I said, Stu? I said, listen, I'll take. Whatever nobody else wants. Just for a safe sinner to open the scriptures anywhere is such an honor.

And they called me back about three months ago and they said, Nehemiah 10, 11, and 12 has the hardest list of pronunciations of the names, and nobody will do it. Will you do that? And I said, happily.

So I read Nehemiah 10, 11 and 12, but I will say I practiced. But uh It was great because Isaiah 55 says, God's word does not return void. And I thought it was just incredibly powerful. That people of every strata, people from all 50 states, 475 in all. That in our nation's capital, the Holy Bible was read cover to cover, and I was honored to be part of it.

Wow.

You know, Nehemiah is so much in there about prayer, about revival, about rebuilding. Walls that have been destroyed that are in rubble, about gates that have been burned down. And here, God called one man who wasn't even an evangelist like you, or wasn't a priest, you know, in the Old Testament right. He was just a cupbearer for the king, he was a government worker. And you read his words, his inspired words, Alex, to for the whole nation, for the whole world to see.

You've dedicated your life to God's word, Alex, to preaching it. To defending it, to equipping young people at your amazing apologetics youth camps. You s you train these kids all over.

So many have come to Christ through your ministry. You've been a part of the Truth Network and so many of our wonderful affiliates, from AFR to all the folks brave enough to carry this program. What is it about the Word of God? Alex, that going back centuries, it's just stood the test of time. It's the most stolen book, it's the all-time best-selling book.

And there you were reading it. What does this say? What did you walk away with in terms of your heart? With your perspective of God's word from your perspective. You know, Stu, I do believe the Bible.

I believe the Bible not merely contains God's words. I believe the Bible is God's word. And in John 10:35, Jesus said the scripture cannot be broken. I mean, the only man that ever rose from the dead, Jesus Christ, affirmed the authenticity and inerrancy of the Bible. But Stu, I got to go back.

I was so blessed. My mother had three aunts. They were spinsters. They never got married. And they own seven bookstores called Strawn's Bookstore.

Now they're all gone to heaven. This chain of bookstores doesn't exist anymore. But when my sister was born, On her birthday, the day of her birth, she got a little Bible with her name on it. On the day I was born, March 10. 1964, I got a little red Bible, and Stu, all growing up, that was like my most prized possession.

Now, I didn't really come to know the Lord. Personally, though I was 21, I was a college student at UNCG. Uh but That little red Bible somehow still Even as a child, Even through my teenage years, I would never let that Bible out of my sight. I just Somehow I knew my destiny. was tied to that little book.

And then of course when I Accepted Christ and began to read the Bible, it all rang true and came true. And let me just say, Um I've spent a lot of years studying apologetics, the evidence for the Bible, the manuscripts, the history, the archaeology, the fulfilled prophecy. Compelling lines of evidence. Point to the Bible's authenticity. And so we can compellingly defend that the Bible is of divine origin and it tells us of Jesus the Savior.

But I will say this: you know, Isaiah 55 says, God's word does not return void. And I would encourage leaders to give children a Bible and tell them, as my aunts did us, that this is God's holy book. The Bible is the Word of God. In it, we find Christ, the Son of God, believing in Jesus. We become a child of God.

And even though it took a while for it to really come to fruition. There is something compelling about giving a Bible to a child. It changed my life, my sister, so many others I could name. The Bible He is priceless to me. It always has been.

And reading it in Washington was just um one of the great joys of my life. You know, I would just encourage people to be a student of the word. You know, this, you're one of the best Bible teachers. I know, Stu. I've sat under your teaching.

You're an amazing teacher of God's word. And uh You know, I know you would concur. The Bible will change your life. Yeah, and 100%. You know, this was, and by the way, Stu Epperson here.

This is Truth Talk with my good buddy, Dr. Alex McFarland, who is a best-selling author. He speaks, he preaches, he holds clinics, he helps young people work through their faith. He debates all kinds of folks on the faith he's been on. Fox News, he's been on a whole gamut of interviews.

And Alex, you took time out of your schedule, as did the President of the United States and so many other Christian leaders to go up to the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Big shout out to them, by the way. For hosting this, because they have made the Bible the centerpiece of that city, which desperately needs it. What a redeeming thing. Thank God for the Green family, all the Green scholars, all the folks.

My buddy Brother Campo, the president of that wonderful group, you know, the Museum of the Bible, and all they're doing. Because when folks get exposed to God's Word, they're never the same, Alex. Your point is taken well. And so we had all these famous politicians from the Speaker of the House to the President of the United States reading God's Word. God's Word is in the very fabric of our Culture in our country and our founding documents, as you have well taught, brother Alex, for so many years.

So I'm just so encouraged to see that this happened together. But whether you're Democrat, Republican, Independent, or Whatever. We should all be encouraged that God's word was elevated such, and that there's a place like the Museum of the Bible. Go check that place out. Join it.

The memberships are cheap. Alex, it's amazing. And it really simply. Further supports ministries like yours. Like we all.

Owe a huge word of gratitude to the Greens and everyone that's been behind setting this museum and the Bible up. Speak to that and then give everyone a way to find out more about your great ministry for folks that need to get your books and that want to enroll in some of the amazing summer camps you're doing for these young people.

Well, I would plead with people to go see the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Throughout 2026 are the Dead Sea Scrolls. Folks, this will be the last time you'll ever have the opportunity to see the Dead Sea Scrolls in America. And I mean, there's one called the Great Psalms Scroll. There are so many, the oldest known.

Portions of the Old Testament biblical texts. Incredible. I don't have time to fully unpack it right now, but the Dead Sea Scrolls are an incredible proof. Proof that the Old Testament was preserved. Then there's this thing called the Megiddo Mosaic.

The world's oldest known Christian church featuring the oldest known archaeological evidence. Not only for Jesus, but for the deity of Jesus, that Christ is called. God incarnate. And that is there. You can see this.

2,000 years of Christian history. Then the Bible in America, the rough draft of the Mayflower Compact. Our first document of civil government in America. And it says. Having transported here for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith, I'm staring at.

The first draft handwritten by William Bradford and the Pilgrims. It's there. And I cannot overstate just how inspired. How uplifting it is. And I have to say, to God be the glory.

I was walking through the Museum of the Bible. Probably 10 times people stopped me and they said, Alex McFarlane, we listened to you on the Truth Network. We listen to you on American Family Radio. We listen to you. And I just give God the glory for partnering with you, Stu, for more than 20 years for being able to proclaim the gospel to the USA and the world via radio.

And uh but that the Museum of the Bible was it was fantastic. And then I was up there just this week meeting with congressmen and senators trying to advocate for America's stand with Israel. But I'm on the road, my website, alexmcfarland.com, my speaking calendar is on there. We're going to be at Saucisty, South Carolina for a big, big American revival on May 17, going to be in San Angelo, Texas. And of course, our summer youth camps are beginning in just about three weeks.

We'll have eight camps this summer with roughly 2,000 teenagers. That will get biblical worldview. Last year's due 6214 teens. Came to Christ. And we were discipled in our youth camps.

2,000 kids, but 624 made a first-time salvation decision.

So there's a lot going on. We give God all the glory, and my website is alexmacfarland.com. True to the blood. This is the Truth Network. Uh
