This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth is. I can't hide it!
I can hold it. It is love. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.
Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. It is March nineteenth or 319. And so if you picture a deer on the side of a cliff, One slip. And it's over, but somehow, effortless, precise, she climbs higher.
You know, that's the image of Abakik 3.19. The Lord God is my strength, He makes my feet. like hinds feet and sets me on high places. In Hebrew that word It's a beautiful idea. It's almost like a host.
That's how much strength you got there. And that host, in some level, is holding you up.
So, have you ever felt like if you had a situation in your life when you are just like man. You were slip-sliding away. It was slipping everywhere you went. But somehow.
Somehow, it was like that image of the man on the sand, where all of a sudden he picked you up and he carried it somehow, and you're still trying to figure out how you. How you made it. And when did that happen for you? 866, the number to call in and share because this is a live show, and we certainly would love to hear your testimony. I mean, to say that would be an understatement.
Have you felt that way? 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and share. You can tell I got Dr. Date the word Carson with me. That was his verse today.
So, have you ever felt like you were slipping? Slipping? I mean, can you share a time when God gave you strength to stand, maybe even rise? When you thought, right, it was all over, you were going to slip. And fall again, it's 319, that's Sabakic, 319, amazing passage.
Dark. You always got them. You're locked and loaded for $319. I tell you, when you look at Habakkuk, this. Great profit.
The book starts off and he is trembling He's hearing what God is going to be doing because of God's people not obeying and. And he he he he has I got the knees are knocking. His knees have become shaky. And yet, as he's thinking about what God's going to do, he's been challenged: the just shall live by faith. And so he gets to this end of chapter 3.
This is the end of the book. And he's coming to a conclusion. And he says, The Lord God not will be. He says, The Lord is my strength. He makes this declaration: He is my strength.
And then He gives that visual.
So many of our great biblical writers use visuals for us. And He says, My feet are going to be like deer's feet. I'm going to be on those high mountain cliffs, getting the best of the grass. I'm not going to slip. But We find ourselves many times on shaky ground, don't we?
Our hearts become fearful. We don't know what tomorrow holds. We don't even know what tonight holds. And we start getting scary. And the Lord is my.
What is the Lord that keeps you from slipping? That's what we want to talk about today. 866-348-7884. The number to call in is share 866-348-7884-319, March 19th, is the anniversary of my father's passing. And um That what happened seven years ago today.
It was in 2019. And as it was that year, like this year, we have boot camp. We always like, like David, we always go to war in the spring. And Mm-hmm. I was due to leave for boot camp the next morning.
And it was a struggle. I mean, my father and I are very, very, very close. In fact, you know, we took care of him in his last years. We lived in his house.
Okay. And so I woke up. You know, in his room and his closet the next morning, I looked at Tammy and I said, you know. I I just feel like the best possible place for me in this time. It is to be.
at camp with my band of brothers and And, you know, with what God has for me, I just feel like, you know, that's where I want to be. And she said, well, I know you love that, so go. And so. He made my feet like the feet of a deer. On three ideas, you know, from my perspective.
I was able to to give the talks that I had at that camp, enjoy uh what God had forced there, and then I did his funeral that Sunday. Um Which was one of the honors of my life, honestly. Still was there. A lot of my dear friends were there. And it was.
You know, you you You've been through it. Doc, it's not an easy one, especially not on three hundred nineteen. No. But yet You made some decisions. And you look back now, and you can say, my feet didn't slip at a moment, many times when we lose a loved one.
our faith can slip. We we go back to a guy named Jacob. And he was just so angry with God. He's lost his wife. He's lost his son from his perspective.
His other sons in Egypt. And all of a sudden, Jacob just screams out, you have bereaved me. Right? To be bereaved is to be robbed. That's how he felt.
He felt like God robbed him. And how do you trust someone who robs you? the very one you need to be trusting, you're accusing of robbing you.
Well, you're not going to trust them. Jacob's faith slipped at that moment. But yours dead. You made a decision that kept your feet from slipping.
So I'm interviewing you for a moment while we wait on callers, but we want to hear your story about What kept you from slipping, but by going to be with your brothers, I think that's huge. It is huge. It it absolutely is huge. And I can remember him weeping with me. I can remember them praying with me.
But you may know that one of my favorite things in the world is the 16th Psalm, right? Right. And I have placed the Lord always before me because He's at my right hand. I will not slip. And therefore, my heart's glad, and my glories rejoice, and my flesh rejoices in a secure hope.
I I I feel more than blessed than I than that I have my wife, that that was there with me during those days and she You know, was literally with my father when he passed. Um And then you know, than I have these dear, dear friends and brothers and family that You know. That's how you walk through that. But you are bereaved. You know, you feel that way.
Um Yeah. And But I I like like I said, it it's It's a beautiful thing when you hear it. That's why these testimonies are so important to us here on Truth Talk Live. Last Monday we heard You know, things on St. Patrick's Day last week, we talked about when you hear from God and those calls.
You know, they resonate in my mind forever. And so we would love to hear when God did that for you. 866-348-7884-866-3487. Seven eight eight four You know, it's amazing. What God does to Keep you from slipping just in scripture, right?
Doc, there are so many passages. Yeah. And you begin to find certain verses that you really do want to pray in. And Psalm 17:5, uphold my steps in your payiffs. in your paths.
Now remember, he leads us in paths of righteousness. Psalms 23. For his name's sake. For his name's sake. So so, okay, Lord, uphold my steps in your paths, that my footsteps may not slip.
And so there's awareness. And um there there's a number of um Sins that I have not committed, that I can gratefully, humbly say I haven't committed. Yeah. Because I knew I could. And one of the best ways of keeping from slipping.
is to know you can slip. When you're walking on ice, you walk a lot more gingerly. Yes. Yes. And that's being alert.
The Bible talks about the believer needs to be alert.
So understand your surroundings, but to pray that prayer, Lord, lead me. And that's part of the Lord's Prayer too, is it not? No, absolutely. Absolutely. 866, the number to call in, because, oh, I can hardly wait.
I can hardly wait to hear your story. 866-348-7884. For you to call in. 866-348-7884. Waiting on you.
We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today we're talking about 3.19, seeing how it is. This is March the 19th.
And Habakkuk 3.19 says, The Lord is my strength. He will make my feet like deer's feet, and he will make me walk on high places. And he wrote that to the chief musician with stringed instruments.
So it's very interesting to me that he threw that in there as. The part of that verse Doc just saying that He's quoting something that David would say often in a psalm. Yep. Right. Many times he talked about the Lord being his strength.
But also he would say to the chief musician with stringed instruments. In other words, he's saying. Sing this, right? Sing it because when you experience it, You're going to feel like singing because you're like, How in the world did I get through that? I I never would have dreamed I could come out on the other side of it.
And I know you've had that happen in your life. And so, you know, as we hear your testimony, it just is glorious. 866, the number to call in and share. 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884.
We're giving you a chance to sing. You know, I'm just saying because it's glorious, Doc.
Well, we're in March madness right now, and different teams, as they win games, you always have the victory song. And there's when the children of Israel came through the Red Sea. Go ahead and gloat, Doc. You can say High Point is singing right now. I know you're singing.
I didn't know if everybody. Listen, we live in Winston-Salem, and High Point's just around the corner. And there's a lot of great people involved with that school from a ministry standpoint.
So, yes. And Stu's daughters go there, yeah. And with High Point winning today over a Big Ten, the Big South, Liberty used to be part of the Big South, so we always pull for the Big South. High Point has beat the Wisconsin Badgers, the Big Ten, and the 12-5. Upset.
There's always a 12.5 upset, Robbie.
So they walked like. And I'm sure, though, they went into that game, you know, thinking, wow, this is going to be tough. How about you? When did you get a chance to have dear feet? 866-348-7884.
I love this story that the Jews have. story pictures to give you an idea of all the Hebrew letters. You may have heard that each letter in Hebrew is a picture of something. And the there is a letter called the Vov, and it looks just like an I if you were to look at it in a picture. it's a straight line.
But the story that they tell about what the Vov is a picture of, oh, is this rabbi that was apparently in his later nineties pushing a hundred and he lived at the bottom of this mountain and he would walk up to the top of that mountain Every day, 365 days a year, and sometimes when it was covered in ice and snow, he would walk up this mountain. And, you know, pretty tricky dirt road, you know, that was not even a road, it was just a path that went over the rocks, and you can picture the scene.
So, You know, one day when it was particularly icy, these young lads thought that they would show up the rabbi and beat him up the mountain. And they did beat him down the mountain and bruised and battered at the bottom of the mountain while they were mending their sores. Of course, he went up there and prayed as he always did when he came down. Of course, the young men were like, How in the world does an old man, you know, how do you do this? And he said, Well, he said, you know, you're supported by what you think was under your feet.
He said, I have this hook that is referring to the vove that hooks me to heaven. And so while you are trying to push yourself up the mountain, I'm being pulled. And I've always loved that picture of. You know, wouldn't it be? And it's just like you talked about, but you The reason why we don't slip sometimes into sin is because we know it's slippery.
Like, you know, those are icy steps. Hold on to the rail there. You need some support. And so he's got this support that he's got going up this icy mountain, holding on to the letter vove, meaning you're connected to heaven through that letter. And that letter is a connecting letter in Hebrew.
And so I always love that picture. And I love the idea, especially when you look at that Psalm 17, right? Mm-hmm. 17, 5. Uphold my steps in your path.
So he is. He's holding on. I love the picture you're giving right now. That is so cool. I'm not looking down and using my feet to push me up and slip.
No, I'm grabbing hold of God. I'm holding on to him. And that was part of, as all this is coming together for today, this morning, I write these devotions. predate the word, they get emailed out. And then I get up this morning, I'm reading, and all of a sudden I'm like.
The Lord is my strength. And I just wanted to spend more time myself on my own devotion of how is the Lord my strength. And I started looking at all these different verses, and I just remind our leaders, our listeners. Psalms especially is just loaded with the Lord is. And that's what keeps us from slipping.
We grab hold of who He is.
So that word strength, you know, just beautifully speaking. Could be spelled with a vov, by the way.
Okay. With in the middle. And it it's it's it's three letters, but uh y the last letter is a lamid, and you may know that the lamid, if you look at the picture of that letter, it's the only letter that goes above the line. Right? The kuf is the only letter that goes below the line, but the lamit is the only letter that goes above the line.
And it's also the first letter in the num in the let in the in the word heart, of your heart. And so this the idea of the lamit is you're you're you're aspiring to go up. And so it's kind of cool that the strength is this connection. of The hat, which is the first letter to the Lama, which is this. Picture of going up.
And so the word strength in this particular picture of the word, as you're using the letters, just shows you this amazing. Idea that we've described here of him upholding our path. And fascinatingly, when you look at the use of the word, that often it is a whole host, and it's an old army that is the strength that they're talking about.
So it's the strength of not one, but an entire army, a host, that is upholding you in this particular case. And Habakkuk, as you described, No. Right? Yeah. You know, he was facing that.
You know, he says, The Lord says, I'm going to do something. You ain't going to believe it. If I told you it was going to, you know, it was kind of like, do you remember? I've always thought about Habakkuk and the idea of COVID. Like, if somebody had told you that in a month, You're not going to be able to buy toilet paper.
And by the way, you won't be able to go outside. Like, there will be nobody on the streets, and you won't be able to buy toilet paper. If somebody had told you that that was going to happen a month, you would not have believed it. And so that was kind of like the peepid in Habakkuk's time, only much, much worse than COVID. It was like the Babylonians are going to come and they are carrying it.
And you would not believe it, Habakkuk, if I told you. No. It's just unbelievable, unthinkable. But God knows stuff like that. And the good news is for his people.
Right? And I was thinking about it this morning that Joshua. Right, in his battle where the hail started coming down, right? Here comes his hail. And And interestingly, the hail takes out the bad guys, but it's not taking out the good guys, right?
I mean, you know, you just think about how much control God has over this situation. Like, here's this hail coming down, and if you're seeing the hail come down, you're like, this is taking people out, this is killing people, this is bad hail. How is it that the good guys are not getting hailed on? It's one of the most amazing stories in scripture, right, Doc? It sure is.
And then when you look at. You got me thinking about, we're coming up on the 250th anniversary of our independence and the Revolutionary War was going on, a tremendous book by Robert Morgan, 100 Verses That Made America. And he tells about these moments where a fog would come in. and all of a sudden the British couldn't see George Washington across the bay. Then all of a sudden and while a fire has been set in Washington, DC to burn the Capitol, to burn the White House, a hurricane comes in.
Strong wind with rain, torrential rain. Where did that come from? God at work. How about you? It's happened in your life.
We would love to hear it. 866-348-7884-866-348-7884. We'll be back.
So much more of a Backup 319. Truth Talk Limited. Let's You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to True Talk Live. Today is 319, March 19th, and we're talking about Habakkuk 3.19 and You know, Doc, I don't know, Billy did you know that Billy Joel wrote a song about Habakkuk?
He said, trading in my money for a back kick kick. Just saying. I didn't know that was coming. Anyway, we're wondering when did I sorry, I just couldn't get it out of my mind once it got in there. It had to come out.
866, the number to call in and share your feet of a dear moment. And we were talking during the break that it cuts you down to just eight toenails. 866-348-7884-866-34 TRUTH. We got Mike is in Dayton, Ohio, and I have to tell you, Doc. Last weekend I got to spend the weekend with Mike.
Okay. For the first time I got to meet him. As he was at our boot camp in Royston, Georgia. And boy, did we have a blast, right, Mike? Oh, we did.
Um if you've never gone to the boot camps, you should go. Uh Y you're y um it's it's it is a blast. And You really get to you really get to know God's voice, and you really get to know God. Um It's it's it touches your heart and it and touches your mind and touches your soul. you know, the whole thing about um St.
Patrick's Day, you know, he He's with you all the way through that boot camp, and it's just unbelievable. You know, you make such a neat point that. When I'm there, I'm it's always remarkable to me That here you're with a group of men that was willing to trade in five days to chase after the heart of God. In other words, They're taking their time off. They're taking their time away from their family with one idea.
And a lot of times the families make a sacrifice that Mike, you know, his wife made that sacrifice that Mike could come. But my wife always says, oh. I'd much rather have you back wholehearted, like you come, you know, than to miss out on that opportunity. But just to be around men like Mike that are chasing after the heart of God. Um it's an honor, Mike.
It is. And and and certainly Um Yeah. Great, great, great memories and we won't mention the tetherball incident. Uh-oh. There's an incident.
There is an incident. But anyway, I know that's not the story you were going to tell. No. Okay. All right.
So, what you got for us?
Well I was in the Marine Corps and I was a postal clerk. And when I was a postal clerk, um I got in trouble. And What had happened was is Somebody in our postal office was taking money out of their till, and it wasn't me, but I knew who it was. And so they basically semi-arrested me. I mean, they put me into the barracks and said, You need to give up this guy and otherwise you're going to jail.
I said, oh my.
So, I didn't give up the guy. As my dad says, you can't knock on your friends. I mean, that was been. Raised with me all my life. You just don't nark on your friends.
And so I got to see a captain and And the captain said, Hey, who did it? You know who did it. I says, I sir, I didn't know who did it, but my dad all my life said no not to narco my friends. He says, Well, you're going back to the barracks until you give it up. I said, Okay.
So I went to God and I went to a the chaplain and um God put on my heart Uh Proverbs 3.5. Three, five, and six. And you know Yeah at the time I read it in the Message Bible. Robbie, by chance, can you pull that up? If not, I can't.
Have you got it there, Doc, in front of you? I can do it too. Proverbs 35. In the message. In the message, here comes via doc.
Oh, thank you, Voc. Trust God from the bottom of your heart. Don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go. He's the one who will keep you on track.
Wow, from the bottom of your heart. You know. I l I like that. And at the time, that's what I said, okay, God. I'm going to trust you.
With the bottom of my heart, um you know, in this situation.
So I went to uh you know a chaplain And I said, Chaplain, hey, I gave him this verse. He says, I understand. I totally understand where you're coming from. I, you know, I'll be praying for you, and this situation will be okay.
Well, Two or three days later, I seen the captain. And the captain said, me, you know, what comes around usually goes around. I said, uh-oh, I'm in trouble. That's what I meant. And I said, Okay, sir, what do you mean by that?
You know, and he says, Well, Usually, your little time in the brig and everything, just think it as what comes around goes around. You just think about what you've done in the past that's bad in the Marine Corps. And then that way you can get out of it. And I said, What do you mean, sir? He says, Well, you're free to go and you're going to speak over here.
in this uh other station, and he just gave me a reassignment and everything was okay. And uh and I really thought for sure I was going to jail. I really did. I I man, I thought, you know, he you know, the Marine Corps, you know, some officer asks you who did it, you're supposed to say who did it, you know what I mean, no matter what. And uh he was a good friend of mine.
And I just didn't do that. And I and he listened to it. I'm curious what happened. Your good friend there that didn't stand up and go, Hey, I did it. Leave Mike alone.
Well, later he got out of it too, and which he shouldn't have. And I asked him, I said, You need to go tell him, you know, you get it. Oh, I'll go to jail, I'll go to the brig, you know, and I'm like, Okay.
Well, later on, he he did it again at another station. And uh and guess what? He got caught. and what came around. you know, come around.
And he got caught anyways. He got he got put in the brig. And uh And so this the next duty station that you got Was it you know, like serving muffins on top of some mountain somewhere. You know, because you had to have feet of a car. I'm just throwing that out there.
But what was the next duty station? When the next news station from Okinawa was Camp Pendleton, California. And that's where I met my uh beautiful wife. Um Oh, wow.
Okay. So you were in Okinawa when all those sh shenanigans were going on? And he yeah, with both and he sent you back to California. He sent me back to California along with this guy here. That did that.
And then he was in a different camp that I was. There's different Stations and and uh in Camp Pendleton, and he did it again. He he he stole from the kilt tilly again and he got caught. And uh and meanwhile, you met your wife. Your beautiful wife, as you pointed out, Tammy, which I happen to know.
And then another part of the story that our listeners might be interested in, I think, is fascinating. Mike is the oldest of his family and all his siblings followed him into the Marine Corps. Yeah. Even though their father was in the army.
So you're Yeah. They have many siblings. I had uh two brothers two brothers and a sister, and uh they both they all went in the Marine Corps and you know both both brothers and the sister. What did they call a a a lady in the Marines? I don't know.
Ma'am. I'm sorry. I know. I like that. Yes, ma'am.
Ma'am. Yeah, that's exactly what you call them. Ma'am, yes. Yes, ma'am. Well, that is powerful, Mike.
Powerful. I love it. And keep up the good work, my friend. That's a great story. You held your integrity and you held your integrity.
Right. And you know, Well, you're in the Marine Corps, you're either for God or with without God, you know? And that uh that situation Boy, the devil was after me, and uh, I could have easily gone out to a bar and just drank it up or. or did the wrong thing instead of seeking God for that situation. I could have went the wrong direction.
And that's what a lot of my friends around me were telling me. Just forget about it. It'll be all right. Just come on and have a good time with us. you know, my integrity.
You know, and God's Holy Spirit in me said, No, well, I'm not going to do that. I'm going to stay right here. And matter of fact, I even stayed right there and read my Bible. And I am so proud of myself that time. Um did I fail in before in life here and there?
Yep. Um My wife can tell you. Um so you know but um you know, seeking God first, putting him in in your heart, that's where it's at. It really is. You can't get any other satisfaction in life other than that.
So I'm showing Doc I wish I could show the whole audience a picture of you in corn.
So, you know, for those who've never met Ricky Korn, I mean, they've missed out, Ryan. Oh, they did. That guy's an awesome dude. Talk about feet of a deer. He has the antlers of a deer.
He has the feet of a deer. And he's liable to give you the feet of a deer if you're around him for very long. I bet he handed out a piece of antler to most everybody that was there. Literally. Because what what Ricky does is he loves to mount Animals.
I mean, he just does. And it he he I can't tell you. all the different things. He he he I have a deer antler in my car that says the armor of God that Ricky carved for me while we were sitting there in one of the one of the talks. But I have a picture of Mike and Ricky and That's a keepsake.
I appreciate you sending that to me, my friend. God bless you. I appreciate you calling in today. It's great to talk to you.
So Mike, as you're talking about being at Okinawa and having to make... Big decisions. Um Robbie, I don't know if you know this, but Chuck Swindahl. served in the Marine Corps. And in his early days of following Christ, he's made that decision as he goes into the Marine Corps.
And he's got all kinds of temptation.
Well, guess where he was serving in the Marine Corps. Okinawa. Same place you were. I didn't know that. And he tells in some of his early sermons, he talked about how he had to make decisions.
Not to go to the wrong places and not to be with the wrong people. And that's part of not slipping. Lord, lead me in paths of righteousness. Lord, put me with people who are righteous. Or give me that ability to stand alone.
to be alone sometimes.
So that I don't do what is wrong. It's such a small world. You know, when you walked in today, I was recording encouraging prayer with James Banks. Yes. And you know that.
Well, guess where he was? When I was recording that. He was in Chuck Swell Dahl's church.
Okay, because I'm like, if he was in Okinawa. No, he wasn't in Okinawa. He was literally in Chuck Swindahl's church at a conference on prayers for prodigals. You know, it's so amazing the episode that you'll hear this Saturday on encouraging prayer, but. Mike.
Thank you, man. I appreciate you calling in so much. We need your calls: 866-348-7884. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. We are having so much fun today dating the word because it is 319 or March 19th, and our verse for March 19th, Doc, is.
Habakkuk 319 because. Habakkuk is going to say, I am going to walk on high heels. High hills h-i-l-l instead of the h-e-e-l, I guess. I see. Habakkuk 3:19, the Lord.
God is my strength. He will make my feet like deer's feet, and he will make me to walk on my high heels, to walk on those high heels that God has for us. And it's one of my favorite days from Date the Word because I think about we are all dealing with shaky moments in our lives. The news comes, our knees knock. Habakkuk was scared to death.
What is going to happen to us? And he's even pleading with God, don't let it happen to us, but it's going to happen. Judgment is coming because of the sinfulness of God's people. They've got to be reproved. And so now he's like, okay, I'm going to look to you.
You're my strength. He didn't say you're going to be. You are my strength. And so if someone wants to read this daily devotional, date the word.com, very simple, date the word.com's website, and they can see this devotional. And there's a date word app and a date the word calendar.
And oh my goodness. Yes. And you can get a date the word calendar. All you have to do is just call. Yes.
866-348-7884 with your Habakkuk 319 moment. 866-348-7884. We would be delighted to give you a date, the word calendar, which I was. just looking at several times today already. And these stories, you know, I remember you know they're not all you know situations of loss.
Um But I you know, we had Um Found that there was a thief in our midst in a dealership that we owned. And actually like over a million dollars was missing. And at the time Um because most of the people in Moxville, North Carolina, knew I was a Christian. You can imagine the rumors that were flying about as they knew that the company was in trouble. And you might also guess that a lot of people pointed the finger at me.
And there are all sorts, and everybody, because I'd led the Christian Businessmen's Committee in town, I'd spoken at several football games, spoken at different things in the city for some time, and very well known as a Christian. And so. As my name was getting beaten down in the mud based on the situation that was going on, I remember if you ever come into Moxville on Highway 158, if you ever have that experience, there's a big hill. It's called the 158 Hill as you come into the city. And I'm coming.
It's a very unique name right there, the 158 Hills. It is, and you'll remember it if you ever go up it. Anyway, I was going up it. And I was having this. Heart to heart with God.
And I said, you know. Your name's getting... Drug through the mud here because of all this situation. Could you please step in? Like, I'm praying.
I'm praying. And I'll never forget his answer to me, which was quite clear. Robbie. I'll take care of my name. You take care of your name.
Um very shortly thereafter, I got sued. uh by the company that was renting us to use Carlot. And uh And I remember standing in court without a leg to stand on. I mean, I had... I mean, we had no money based on the situation that that what had happened.
And there was nothing I could do. I mean, as much as I wanted the money to be there, it wasn't there. And it didn't change the fact that I was guilty as I could possibly be. And, you know, the people that They were furious and the judge was looking down. I was like, you know, and and I can actually remember Thinking about Habakkuk 3:19.
Like, God, you. Give me some words here because the knees were knocking and I felt horrible, but what can you do at this point in time? It would appear that you're going to let a lot of people down, whether you want to or not, in that particular moment. You know, I didn't happened that Oh yeah, everybody walked out of that courtroom smiling. Yeah.
Mm-hmm. Ha ha ha. But I can tell you one person that walked out there feeling better was me. Like I faced something that Man, I dreaded it. You know, you dread, like, man, I'm gonna go.
This is embarrassing. This is humiliating. Everybody thinks I'm a crook. You know. You're just walking in a place that just happened, right?
And there you are.
So. I know you got a story, and God lifted you up, even though it wasn't necessarily to walk on the highest mountain. At least you didn't. Fall down into the pit. 866-348-7884-866-348748.
Seven, eight, eight, four. How about you, Doc? You've had some moments.
Well, we sure have. When you think about ministry, then you think about physical life. There's financial components. Any one of those areas, you have moments where things get tight, get scary. You wonder how are you going to make it.
Um Uh I'm hearing your story there. I'm thinking of Psalms 26, 1, where David cries out, Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity. I've also trusted in the Lord. I shall not slip. Lord, I need you to come through for me.
And Uh every now and then those those accusations come. Uh your character gets uh thrown out there. Uh I don't go into too many personal situations. Robbie, but uh in one situation where uh some things had happened, other people were making accusations and um Dr. Fall Will.
Said Uh I know what you guys are saying right now is not true about him. Right. And I was like Wow. And I remember another time with another man. Um Someone had made an accusation and Dr.
Falwell said There is no way what is being said of that man could be true. And um He was able to put out those kinds of fires. If you're walking in integrity, you're going to be attacked. Daniel was attacked for being a man of integrity.
So don't think, okay, if I do with, I walk with integrity, nothing ever happens to me. No, you're going to be attacked, but then God vindicates, He keeps you from slipping. You've got to trust Him to go through. And we're supposed to beware when all men do speak well of us. And so uh when someone does try to throw some dirt at you.
Lord, I'm going to trust you to get through this. And, um And then you you you find out who your real friends are at those moments too. And I go back, you know, I can get very personal on the component of the day I found out that I had cancer. And at that very moment, at my dentist office today, my dentist gives me a Bible verse. The Bible verse was Psalms 56:3.
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. I said, I can't wait. This was from the that was after Stu called you and speaker said, Drill, baby, drill. Yes, yes. Like the lady that does the cleaning and all that stuff.
And I had the phone on where she could hear this. And Stu's going, drill, baby, drill. And I'm like, get behind me, Satan. No. But she gives up Bible verses.
And so I just pick it up. It's a card. You turn it over and. When I am afraid, I will trust you. And I said, that was the verse that I immediately went to on the day that I was told I had prostate cancer.
And not knowing at at that point, my age, it's very, very scary. to walk through that time and Hold it on to the Lord so you don't slip because We're going to have our faith tested. James says that. And I love the way the message says that we quoted this earlier from the message, a verse from the message. James says that when these trials come, it forces our faith life out into the open.
And people get to see What it's like for you to walk on slippery places with high heels. I mean, on high heels that are slippery. Exposure, right? Yes. That's the that's And the very idea of You know those slippery places, and I love what you said, and I'm gonna think about it.
That's quite a nugget. Uh that Mm-hmm. You know, you have a whole lot less chance of slipping when you think you're walking on ice. Mm-hmm. when you're holding onto the rail because you realize, oh yeah, I could slip.
I could slip here. I need some rails. And what better rails can you possibly imagine than the word of God, right? And how shall a young man cleanse his way? And all those things we talk about all the time that.
you know, by clinging on that every morning. You were talking about how they did this survey of all the pastures that had fallen to adultery and that kind of thing. And in that survey, one of the things that they found was that they failed to do their quiet time in the morning. Yeah, but their devotion to the Lord. started getting lukewarm.
That's so scary. And the second thing was, they said this could never happen to me. Wrong. You gotta know what those weaknesses are. You know you can slip.
In so many different ways. Scary stuff. 2 Timothy 2:22. Flee youful lust. Pursue righteousness, love, faith, peace, hope.
With those who are also walking in righteousness.
So so the Be so careful of who and what places you put yourself in.
So, trade in all your money for a Habakkuk kick. Yes, yes. Just saying it. It's so much fun to say that. Habakkuk 319 on March the 19th.
