This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. With all the talk about Iran. Persia. All the unrest.
all the bombs, all the protests, the nuclear conversations with our government. Wouldn't it be cool if we just talked to someone who is actually A princess. Of Iran. She is standing right next to me. You've heard her before.
His amazing book called Identity Unveiled: A Daughter of the King of Kings. But, Shireen Gentry, when you hear Iran, in the news. You get excited. Your blood starts kind of flowing a little bit, and you know. The the the temperature raises, tell everyone why.
Well, it's circumstantial evidence, I always say that, circumstantial evidence that my father was the last Shaw. Again, not definitive proof, but all circumstantial and I put the pieces of my puzzle together in the summer of 2017 and 2018. And this isn't just conspiracy or fodder for the water table or water cooler. Like, there's a book that you wrote that I opened with, Identity Unveiled. I mean, that's the whole point of your book.
And there's pictures in there of you and the royal family and all that. Yes, not together, but one side by side I put in there.
So the title has a double meaning. Identity unveiled, daughter of the king of kings, which means Shah Han Shah. The last shawl. But then the rest of the book is faith-based about the identity. In my opinion, that matters the most, which is My worth and my value being bestowed by the King of Kings, the Creator.
Someone who goes through life totally being defined by the potential that they are like royalty. But your identity is based on true royalty from the King of Kings, huh? Yes, the same identity that I share with you, Stu. And that I share with other followers of Christ. That's the identity that matters.
Well, this is big time. You got a message to me earlier to pray for you. You did a big TV interview, you've got all the people calling you. We're standing next to a pastor's wife.
Now, we interview pastors all the time. I've interviewed your pastor before. in the neighboring coffee shop. We're in this uh city lights church. And there's a little echo in here.
I can't hear you. There's an echo.
Sorry, Pastor. Miriam McCarthy, you're having this young lady speak to your women. Can you talk about that and why that's important for them to come out to this and give the date too for those that are able to make it within our earshot of our radio signals? We have signals all over the country. A lot of folks listen, and we want to get them connected to your book and get them to your messages.
But, Miriam McCarthy. You're having a women's event. Why did you invite her and talk a little bit about this and the importance of it?
Okay, well. Shirene and I are friends now, and I really have come to respect her and love her. And so next Friday night, February 20th, She's coming to speak at our women's event that we have here at City Light Church. And she will be talking about resiliency. And um bends don't break right under trial and I know a lot of us.
Go through many trials, and we need to learn how to respond to trials. um biblically and um through Christ's help, and so she's gonna come help us to learn about that a little bit more. Without telling the whole talk, give us a few little quick Previews of that message. Because we drop sound bites on shows like this, and people are like, oh, wow, she's likely connected to. Royalty from Iran, she's written this book.
But there's a lot of tough stuff in there, like getting to where you are today, family going way, way back. Can you talk about that as a little preview for those that want to come hear your message that night? Sure, well it's a discovery that I made in my mid-50s. Um so my adoptive family kept uh Clues that I had not paid attention to in the 16 years that they had been gone. And so I began to piece it together for the first time.
And the framework for my book, and I'm springboarding from concepts in my book for my talk on the 20th. My belief system in God had to change. Because my family of origin, I grew up with some things. It's taken me a lifetime to come full circle with it. But my belief in who God was in my narrative and my story had to change because I'd gone to a Christian school, I'd gone to church twice a week, and so doing the actions, God said, no, that doesn't matter.
You need a heart change and more than that you need a mind change. And so that became foundational for the message that I still like to share now. Wow. Miriam, as a Pastor's wife. Uh Mother of boys.
This identity thing, it's not just with women.
Sometimes Well, she wrote a book, a women's book, but really this thing goes across all spectrum because so often we find our identity in things that don't really matter or last. Yes, that's very true. And even with my sons and as a pastor's wife, like so many So many situations, so many things that we are dealing with, we just have to remember that Christ is. is our father. He is our the one that is our true identity if we're a follower of him.
And um so we just we just love that Shireen's gonna come and talk about that a little bit more. And that's kind of where you end up. I mean, that's kind of like, that's like a pretty cool altar call, because that's kind of how. Your soul, what is it, what is the point that brought your soul to that reality? of whose you are versus who you are.
Well, he God had to touch um painful part of my heart that I had kind of buried for years and years and years. He ripped the band-aid off of it. And so I started to take inventory internally. Which meant changing my belief system. And so for months I pored over scripture.
And my thinking of who God was and who I was had to change. I go into the details of that specifically in my book, but For my life, he had to get to a place of past pain. for me to be fully healed and know where my worth and value came from. Give the title of the book one more time, and folks can find out more about that and all your stuff, your good ministry work, and all that. Yep, the name of the book is Identity Unveiled: Daughter of the King of Kings.
You can find it on Amazon for $12. I also have a podcast by the same name.
Okay, and if you think she's talented, she's got a talented family, sons. I know Austin pretty well. What a godly man in ministry. And your husband's like this award-winning dentist. Everyone has a good dentist, right?
Absolutely. What a blessing your whole family's been to so many people. You're speaking to this church, Miriam. Shameless plug for the church and the event, one more time for folks that can get out to this in High Point, North Carolina, kind of the middle of North Carolina.
So you can, folks, can get here from just about anywhere on the southeast. You probably can plug it online if you can't get here in person.
Okay, my husband is Matt McCarthy. We are City Light Church in High Point, North Carolina.
Next. Um next week, February February 20th at 6.30 is our women's event. With Shireen as our speaker. All right, so the week after Valentine's Day, people connect with their true love, the lover of their soul, Jesus Christ.
Now, here's the question, Miriam. Is Shireen going to m remember all of us little people one day if she ends up don you know, d you know, donning the royal robes and all that and getting over there, you know, and and taking up, you know, like the Lion King, you know, she's like the S the Simba that takes over, you know, the the world. Is she gonna remember the little people? What do you think? My worth and value is the same as yours, Stu, and the same as Miriam's, and that's where I'm landing.
That's awesome. God bless you guys. Thank you so much for hosting this and this, this, maybe this. Message Can be a message that other churches, other folks can say, hey, I want Shireen or friends like her to come and speak and encourage my men, my women, our youth group. Senior adults, single adults, let's go and let's wrap our identity in the things.
that matter and let's bring others into that wonderful thing. I mean that is a that is a truly powerful thing. that we can invite others. into a relationship with a God Who loves them, who sent his son to die for them? Is there anything more powerful or more privileged we have to share that?
There's nothing better. It's foundational for life. It's foundational for every trial, tribulation, trauma, or tragedy you may live through that for whatever reason God sovereignly allows in your life. But when you know that your worth and value is from him, and that we can approach the throne of grace to receive uh confidence and grace and mercy in our time of need. That's where our belief system needs to land.
Should come up. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
