And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. There's a prayer gathering happening actually in Washington, D.C., that some are calling one of the most important spiritual events in America. Actually, the 74th. National prayer breakfast happened this morning, February 5th. Right?

Is it... Is it one of the most important spiritual events in America? Not because of who's on stage, not because of media coverage, because I bet. There are many of you at this or first you've heard of it, but because it's centered, right? on repentance, humility, and asking Write God to move, not demanding that he take sides.

And it raises a deeper question really for all of us. I mean What actually makes a spiritual event important, right? Is it numbers? Is it influence? Or Is it hearts turning back to God?

So this is a live show, and you have a voice that really we really want to hear. Since I'm doing the show today by myself, I really want to hear your voice. And so, what do you say to someone, right? Who says, what do you mean? Prayer's a big deal.

What do you say to someone who says prayer doesn't matter about this country? It's just not one of the major things, it won't change a thing. Um, what would you say? I mean, what has been your experience, really? Really, what has been your experience where prayer really changed everything, right?

Essentially, when it comes to prayer, what's your first Peter 3:15 response, right? Always be ready to make a reply to anyone who asks you, explain the hope that's in you. And when it comes to prayer, do you have hope like that? Is that... Where do you come from, or what is the verse that you hang your hat on?

Um You know, clearly, 2 Chronicles 7:14, right? If my people, right, who are called by my name, Right, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face. You know, then, you know, I will hear. And, and, and, Things like that that really have made a difference in your life when you found yourself like, man, I don't have an answer in this situation. And so when you think about this prayer event, what also, I would love to hear, what do you think we should be praying?

for this country. What do you think are some of the things that we really should? And maybe you've got somebody that's up there. I know we do at the Truth Network have several good friends that are actually up there in D.C. that were at the event and are in meetings right this minute.

We're hoping we can get one of them to call in during the show today. Or maybe you've got some ideas. Just what are your thoughts along this line when it comes to prayer in our country? 866-6666. Three, four, eight.

7884. You know that one story that you had where Right, man, if somebody said, Well, what difference does prayer make?

Well, let me tell you, man. Let me tell you where prayer really made a difference.

Okay, and I can tell you if. Actually, no doubt, hundreds in my own life. And so I thought I'd share one here with you. Maybe you've heard this one. It's just one of my favorites, right?

And so a lot of people know that I loved this idea of the five slamma jamma cat pajama prayer. And you're like, what, what, Robbie? Yeah, there. It's this prayer that I got taught by a pastor in Greensboro many years ago. One of the first times I went to church actually before I knew Christ.

I learned this prayer. And the idea of this prayer is actually not to do a lot of talking. In fact, what he said when he was explaining this prayer was he says, you got. Two ears and one mouth do the math when it comes to prayer. And I would say the same thing for our country.

That we got two ears and one mouth. You know, we need to do a great deal more listening. To God, than we need to do talking to him. He does that kind of thing. But nonetheless, that's what this pastor said.

And he said, you know, you just need to let go and let go and let God. And he explained to me, and it always made sense to me, that if God really is God, he kind of knows what's going on. And he's very familiar with the situation. In fact, infinitely familiar. In fact, if you look at Psalm 139, you can see that he knows from how it got to the position it is and how it will end up getting resolved at the end.

He knows all those things. But what he said was. You know, when you get in that situation, that if you will turn to God and just simply wait and listen, as we did a show, Dr. Carsten and I did a few. Maybe it was last week about waiting on God.

Right? And prayer often has to do with just Humbling yourself and listening, in my opinion, it does. And this particular. situation this particular day I Had finally been promoted to be the general manager of Crown Dodge. I'd been a Car sale.

I actually started out in a dealership as a washing cars and worked my way up eventually to be, you know. a general manager and when I got that first store, It totally tanked in went into deep trouble. And I was trying to figure out what in the world to do. And I remember that October. Uh we were we were supposed to have sold like fifty or sixty cars at this point in the month, and I think we had like seven or eight or ten out for the month.

But the thing that really, really put me in a point of prayer, even though I didn't really know God that well at the time, was that They had a thing in the car business, I think they still do, called a customer satisfaction index. And this particular Um Christley, the way they did it back then is they had a 4.0 scale. And so when people sent in surveys and those kind of things, you would get a grade. And it was like you're, you know, when you're in high school, that a 4.0 is great. But if you were getting a 2, right, then you were getting a flunk.

And we got our CSI rating in that particular day. It's right around the middle of October that year. And we had like a 2.3 or something that was clearly below failing. And at that point in time, if you're a general manager for the Crown Group, which I was, that was a good way to lose your job because if your CSI was too low, then the owner would not be allowed to buy any more dealerships. And this one was way too low.

And we weren't selling any cars. Our customer satisfaction was completely horrible. And I thought for certain that my career, I finally got to be a general manager and I was going to get fired. And so, man, I had learned this prayer from Dr. Redhead, and I said, you know, I need to go somewhere and just listen.

and see what God has for me. Right. tried my best to find a place in a dealership to where I could just listen for God and I couldn't hear him. And so I went out this is an October afternoon. I went out and got in a field and I just laid down in the middle of the field and I just listened and listened and Unfortunately, I fell asleep.

And, you know, when I woke up, actually, it was dark and I was in more trouble both at work and from my wife. Like, where are you? I said, well, actually, I was trying to pray. And that was a Friday afternoon.

Well, the next morning, I got up and again, just sought the Lord. Like, God, I got to hear from you. I don't know what to do. I really did not know what to do. And I listened, listened, listened.

And that morning, God gave me this word, which changed everything. It changed everything. It changed my life to this day, it's changed my life. And what he told me In my spirit, right? Like, you know, this came from God because I didn't think it up.

He said, Robbie, when all is said and done. It won't matter how many cars you've sold. It won't matter how much your customer satisfaction index is. The only thing that will really matter is how many people you truly help. And that resonated in my heart so clearly that, like, man, I was like, oh, wow, that is the answer.

It just completely is the answer. And I Uh got to the dealership early that Saturday morning, called a sales meeting, which we never had on Saturday mornings because it's your busy day. And I called everybody and I said, guys, here I have the answer. We're no longer going to try to sell cars. We're going to try to help people.

I don't care what the situation is if they don't. Need to buy a car, then you need to try to help them, however that may be. If they need to buy some other car, then you need to help them. Or if they they need to help find a car that they can't find anywhere else, that's what you're gonna do. And the same thing in the service department and the parks department, and all through the dealership.

All we got to do is try to help people. And to this day, we do that with the Jesus Labor Love. I just got through doing several of them today already. And I can tell you. That you know, you get God involved with something like that.

Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today we're talking about. A national prayer gathering happening this week being called one of the most important spiritual events. in America. Like we're asking why prayer still matters, right?

What was The last time that you prayed, and something just changed miraculously, is that you would use as a reason for the hope that you have about prayer, right? You know, as we think about, wow, somebody says, Why does this matter?

Well, let me tell you how it worked out in my life. And right before we went to the break, we were talking about this prayer that I had at the dealership, and I didn't have a chance to really share some of the results of when God told me that. You know, what really matters is If you help people, as far as that organization was concerned, and that policy change. You know, turned that dealership around very quickly and actually launched my career in Crown Network into something amazing. And then eventually here to Winston-Salem.

And even my own dealership where I used the same thing and God blessed that in so many different ways I can't even explain how I was blessed with helping people when I got my mind off of you know trying to hit some number or or do those kind of things. And really it To this day, the fruit of that advice has been more than amazing. And so, whenever I think about, man, why is prayer important? Because in so many areas of my life, you do. When I desperately needed something, even when I need something in the scriptures, that's the best place to pray I can think about.

We got Glenn is in Springfield, Ohio. Glenn, you're on Truth Talk Live. Yeah, hi. I had a story about prayer, and this is a couple years ago. My do my dog was happened to be sick and aging at the time and Um I was I I had I check on my mom daily.

She's elderly. And on this particular day, I had forced to stay over to w at work two hours.

So So, my dog, who I'm worried about, has been in his crate for from 7:30 in the morning. Wow. After work, I stopped to visit my mom to check on her.

Well, she wants to go out to eat. You know, I want as scripture says, I want to honor my mother, right? And so, we go out to eat and So I take her home and I'm rushing home now.

Now it's 8:30. I I'd left my dog in the crate from 7:30.

Now it's 8:30 in the evening. And I'm rushing home and I and I Said this prayer, I said, God. When am I going to get time for myself? And just like you had said, this thought, this word from God in my spirit. Um said, do not worry about your time.

You are in eternity. Wow. And I am telling you what. That blessed me. I was about a mile from a little Baptist church.

It's not my church, it's a Baptist church. I just I pulled over in this Baptist Church parking lot to pray and to thank God for that revelation because I mean, in that one The buttons. In that one revelation, God has told me I'm saved. And I can draw on that. every single day, and it's changed the way I think about my time because I have all the time I need.

I don't get Now what's the word? you know, I don't get upset about how much time I have to take with different people because I'm in eternity right now. Right now is part of eternity. Exactly.

So.

So so it just changed my whole to how I think about everything. And then I can also draw upon, I mean, why would God tell me I'm in eternity if I'm not truly saved? You know, which I know a lot of Christians kind of struggle with. Am I really saved? Especially when God's not really working in their life at that particular moment.

But I just wanted to share that story because I draw on that. Glenn, everybody that has a dog is relating to what you're saying. And we all have the same question, man. You got home. How about the poor dog?

How was it?

Well, he was having trouble holding himself. My bad. You know, and he did that. And unfortunately, he's no longer with us. He was an old golden retriever, Beagle Mix, just the sweetest dog you could ever know.

And not a mean bone in his body, but he's. He's moved on. I don't know where he's at now, but he's moved on, and he was a great dog. Um but but that that word from the Lord, oh my gosh, you know, uh what a blessing, and it's a blessing I can draw on. Every single day because we are part of eternity right now.

You know what's amazing about that for me, Glenn? And I'm so grateful for your call. In fact, if you've got a story like that, we would love to hear from you as well. Believe me, 866-348-7884. Just this morning, I came across the scripture and you just lit it up for me again.

It's actually from the 139th Psalm, and it says, You know, my sitting down and your rising up. It says, You understand my thoughts. afar off.

Well, when you study that in Hebrew, which you may know I love to do. That Word thought could be also translated aim, like you know the direction I'm headed. But that word afar? Is an eternal word. Oh, that is great.

So he knows. Like he knew And this is amazing stuff to think about, Glenn. He knew where Glenn was inside of Adam and where you were inside of Eve. And he's been following that story till you could finally come to the place where you would have this dog and eventually call Truth Talk Live to tell us about it. And he's been watching this trajectory with you And it you c what you said could not be more accurate.

That Everything we choose to do has eternal consequences. And even that time with your mother, because I had time with my mother before she passed and time with my father, and I don't begrudge one minute. Right. of the time I took my dad to eat or took my mom, you know, while I still had him. Mm-hmm.

And so I just think that's such a beautiful story. And cool. I'm sure you felt like I did. Like, there's a million bricks on my shoulders. Like, I'm carrying all this weight.

And all of a sudden when God gives you something like that, it's like Just like the burden came off for Christian in a Pilgrim's Progress. Like, I'm not, oh, wait a minute. God's got this. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.

He's there every minute and every day, and he will never leave us nor forsake us. And it's just great comfort when you get that. Prayer You know, I mean, I would just basically just stated it. I didn't go into like a formal prayer. I just said, God, when am I going to get time for myself?

You know, that's all I always eyes open. That's completely formal prayer, believe me. He's right there with you.

So, Trish, you're on Truth Talk Live. What do you got for us?

Well, it's kind of a progressive story, but I'll condense it. When my husband had heart failure, Yeah, we're at the hospital and they thought he was going to get stent. And it'd be a simple, easy procedure.

So I'm waiting in the room and I thought there's a Bible study. Open this up and Just read some comforting scripture. And I know this is not in the Bible, but my eyes read. Art sale here. And I went, no, no, no.

And Uh I just closed it up and I'm like, no.

So So shortly after that, the doctor came in and he said, Well, it's not what we thought. Your husband has heart failure.

So the blessing in that is that I already had the initial Shocks. taken care of. I will the doctor started to tell me things. I could listen clearly. I didn't have a clock.

Well, then, you know, we go through all these hoops, we find out. that his heart is working at 7%. He would be disabled for life. He's fifty-eight years old and I'm glad I told you Wow, Trish, I hate you. Trish, can you hear me?

We got to go to a break. But your story could not be more compelling. Can you hang on for us? Sure. Oh, that would be wonderful because I know everybody wants to know what happened here.

Being called one of the most important spiritual events in America and asking why prayer still matters, or what would you tell somebody that asked that question? And boy, have we had some amazing calls so far?

We had Glenn, and now we've got Tricia and When we left, Tricia, she had been in the hospital, um you know, with her husband in surgery and it Received this advanced word actually from the scripture, although it wasn't in the scripture about heart attack. And now we're on the road within the surgery, right? Tricia, and can you take us from there? Right, right. And he didn't have a heart attack.

It was heart failure, which is a huge difference because that means the muscle Is dying. Right. And so. Anyhow. We went through all of that.

We came home and Um There was just a lot of things in the hospital too, but When we got home, His heart only worked seven percent. And so He couldn't walk. I don't even Twenty feet was a lot. And he'd be out of breath.

So when I watched him walk from the kitchen table to the recliner, And he was just exhausted. I just sent up a wing prayer is what I call it. And I said Send something, send somebody. We need help. We can't live like this.

And Um He did.

So, I'm not going to say what the devices that we got because my husband wanted me to sell them. And this isn't. What I'm trying to do here. Right. So.

Um, a friend called. Of course, I go out and I send it on to all my prayer chains. And Um within two weeks a friend called and said, hey, I heard about this device. cardiologist has it Okay, long story short, I had to go all the way Down south To get this, and I'm like, we can't even drive 15 minutes. How am I going to do this?

But I said, Lord, you brought it. And like a week later we get a call, hey, we're coming to Cincinnati. Perfect, we'll make it. I get off the phone. I'm like, Lord, we can't go that far, but if you want me to, I will.

Long story short, they call and say, Hey, we're going to be in Dayton. Can we just come to your house? Oh, wow.

So they come. And he uses it. He feels great for two days. We end up getting it. And By so in six months' time, we got this in February, by April, he was going back to work, working full time twelve hour days.

and his heart was now up to 25%. Which is huge, they were hoping for 24. But by using this more, Then We ended up getting them up to 49%, which is huge. Cleveland Clinic said we've never heard of this.

So Through all of that too, um I was able to Start selling them. and was able to help so many people. and be able to have people come to our house and use it. for free, just to let them see if it worked And So just The whole thing was just amazing because He heard. That little Cry of my heart.

There was no tears, there was nothing, it was just help. And You know, he c he came through big. I guess so. Oh my word. Um And I know everybody listening has got similar questions, but I want to get out the number again for somebody else that may have a story similar.

Again, that I hope it's encouraging a lot of people. 866-348-7884, 866-348. Seven, eight, eight, four, but You know, just How in the world does this, in other words, this isn't a prescription, this isn't a drug, it's a mechanical device of some kind? Yeah, it it just looks like a yoga mat. and you lay on it for eight minutes in the morning and eight minutes at night.

And 'cause the heart's a muscle. It can repair. but it never gets a break.

So by using this, it gave his heart a break and didn't have to do the circulation all on its own. And so Yeah, it brought it back. And there's the cardiologist that had it. had the Widowmaker heart attack. And he used it for eight months.

And he was able to get off now each individual is different, but this one here, he was able to get off of all of his medicine and he went back to work and his heart was back 80%.

So There's a whole story with this device too, because it was just such a God-given knowledge to the person who created it. And so there's just so many miracles and so many breathed prayers of help. Um because the one who created it was wanting something for his mom. And he said, I'm not an electrician. I never went to school with this or anything, but God gave me the vision and the ability and the people came alongside me to help get this produced.

Wow. And so now you you've been the answer to other people's prayers, right? Because they they probably had similar situations to your husband where they were com completely incapacitated. Yeah, yeah, you're right. I never even thought of that until you said it, but.

Yeah, because of the The blessings that were poured into me Then I asked him what he wanted me to do with it, and so every time. Like right now. Um He'll have somebody out of the blue just call me. and say, hey, I heard about this. Could I come and see yours and try it?

Wow. Because I'm not advertising, I'm not going to. Right, you're not sitting there, you're just trying to be an answer to what you're trying to do for others what, you know, it's it's 2 Corinthians coming to life, right? Chapter 1, you know, where it says, you know, the God of all comfort comforts us so that we might comfort others with the comfort we are comforted with, right? And that's what you've been given that to do.

And so let me say that. Nick, you I guess you've got her phone number right, n the in your computer? Um If you wouldn't mind writing that down, because I have a feeling some people might hear this show later, and we're going to get some phone calls or whatever that may want to know and be in com because who knows, God will put it in somebody's heart to listen to this show, and it might be exactly what they need. But I got to tell you, Tricia, I... I am blown away again, as always, how God shows up.

For people, you know, he makes a way where there seems to be no way. I can't imagine how heartbroken you were. to see your husband in that shape. And then, you know, to see him begin to recover. And so now he's working and he's he's okay and not okay, but he's at 50%.

Yeah. And it's And that was the thing that was so amazing is that I had so many people come to the hospital. And Each time somebody left, They would say You are strong. And they're like, I can't believe how calm you are. Even that when they have the clergyman come around and they want to know if you want prayer, if you need comfort or anything.

Um God opened that door. for me to talk to that clergyman. And He was He was just amazed. He said, The Holy Spirit is pouring out of you. He said, this is amazing.

You have the peace that surpasses all understanding. And I did because I was able to go home. I mean, I stayed at the hospital. As much as possible, but we still had things at home that had to be taken care of on the farm, and I had boys at home yet. I had to get home at some point.

And so when I did, You know, it was midnight. I had to be back up at 4 o'clock. And I sat down and started thinking of stuff, and I said, Father, I can't do this. I can't be at the hospital and tears, but you can be everywhere.

So I just ask you to watch over everything and let me sleep.

so that I'm ready for the day ahead. and never prayed that prayer again. And any time I lay down to sleep, I slept solid, like I got eight hours. Wow. Yeah, under those circumstances.

Yeah, it's fine.

So, how how long ago was it that that the he actually was in the hospital? Twenty sixteen. Wow. So ten years ago. Yeah, it'd be ten years this year.

And so there is no b there's not been other surgeries or anything else. What the recovery he's made is clearly from this device. And God, obviously, who'd provided it. Yeah, there's no well, there is nothing to do. Because The heart muscle was dying, so you can't, it's not like being able to go in and and get something from Like some people will have like a a heart valve from like a pig or a cow, and have that put in.

You know, wa it wasn't a valve. It wasn't something Right. to be repaired. It was just dying. Right, unless you got a heart transplant.

Right, that was the other option. That was the other option. There is another option too, but he said I am not doing that. He said, I will do a heart transplant first. And when he said that, That's when my prayer went up.

And I went, no, no, no. Father, we can't do that. And that's when I just said we send something, spend somebody. It's funny how I did it in that order. I asked to have something sent or send somebody to help us.

And so the device was given, and then the people were given. That followed up behind it to help us. That's beautiful.

So wonderful.

Well, thank you, Tricia, so much for your testimony. And certainly, I hope you gave a lot of folks hope. You gave me some. Because there's a lot of situations that just like, oh, wow, God has the great physician. There's no doubt about that.

So you know, this nation, we we need that. Our heart, maybe we need some kind of device so our heart can can kind of come back and be for the people. You know, what I when I think about Well you know That spiritually, that's what Tricia's talking about in the heart of our country. Um You know, God's heart is love, right? And He cares deeply about His people.

And, you know, I love that these. Great Americans have gone up to Washington to get on their knees and pray. And I understand the president joined them this morning. And I've heard all sorts of great reports. But what do you think?

Is this a big deal? Is this something that we need to do? Or how do you think we should pray for the country? Or what posture should we take? Or even better, like Tricia's story or Gary's story, you know, how did prayer change everything in your life?

Because you could hear how Glenn was talking about what was going on with his time and his mom and his dog, and certainly Tricia with her husband and his heart. Uh what a burden um what a burden uh can be um Uh Offered up, and so this country certainly has huge burdens, and we would love to get some of those off our backs.

Well, hi. Yeah, prayer is important. Praying for our country is important. Uh because th that's what we want. We want our we want salvation for people that are lost.

And by praying for our country, that's what That's what you're gonna get. You're gonna get uh. people that get to know Christ because we are a Christian nation. Um I got a story real quick with my mom. My mom always prayed for me all my life.

She's probably praying for me right now. I know the family. You know what I mean? She's one of those prayer roarers. You know what I mean?

She goes to church early and prays before church. And I've been a few. It it's rare is not It's really a gift from God to be like that. And, anyways, I was. I was I was driving one time and I I forgot something and I was turning around in the in the in uh in the driveway.

And I'm as I'm backing back out of the driveway, I The Lord s spoke to me and said, Stop, stop. I'm like, why? I don't see anything yet. And he goes, and I started to go just a little bit more. And I mean, it got really loud this time.

Stop! Don't go. And I stopped and not go, and all of a sudden, two seconds, or not even a second, a car come flying over the top of the hill. And uh Maybe 100 miles an hour and flying by me. And if I would have gone out, I would not be here today.

Um So, and I'm like, holy mackerel, you know.

So, I w on my way home, my mom wanted something for me to do for her, like, just like Glenn's. And uh So I stopped in and said, Hey, mom, you wouldn't believe what just happened to me. I was driving, you know, driving. I turned around and I told her the story, and she says, What time was that? I said, I d I don't know, maybe one o'clock, two o'clock, she says, I was praying for you then.

And you know, you know how the Holy Spirit is like, oh my gosh, this is unbelievable. that was something God wanted to teach me, that that how much prayer matters. And so your prayer matters to other people. Believe it or not, you need to pray for people, pray for this network. I've been praying for this network all day.

I just can't emphasize how much prayer matters.

Well, and I loved the angle to your story, Mike. That's beautiful.

Yeah. Is that that wasn't a moment where you were sitting there? Oh, God, what should I do? All of a sudden, you just hear in your spirit, stop. Right?

Right. And I can tell you, Mike Zwick often offers, you know, he he hosts this show, and I know a story where God told him to put his seatbelt on. Right before he hit a tree. I mean, true story. Like, and he just obeyed because he heard that same thing.

And I can't tell you what those kind of things mean to me. That that that God To you at times, you know, he's trying to talk to you, which is prayer, you know, probably all the time if we would have ears to hear, right? And so I love that angle to your story. Um So Thank you, Mike, for calling in. We got Lucy.

is in Kingland, Georgia. Lucy, you're on Trick Talk Live. What have you got for us? Uh oh. I I I'm Lucy and I I think it The happiness and rejoice the people rejoice in in Washington DC, And because It's a Yes, the people enjoy the harmony and the harmony coming from Jesus.

And Jesus, they say, uh he say, Let us rejoice and be glad and at every day in our life. You know. That's sweet, Lucy. That is very, very sweet. And so, did you have a chance to see some of the event?

No, darling. I don't watch the T V. I listen to the Lighthouse and the plug-in and all that. And you listen to the Truth Network, which we appreciate. And so you're.

But I love what you're talking about, that harmony. And again, as people pray together, that's a. Uh you know Coming together under God is a beautiful picture, right? Yes, yes. And that's why and this is why Jesus said, Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

And Jesus is a harmony. And and you had uh your mind and your soul. And you know And yes, when you you pray, they say, Pray to God. Say my name. Where is your mind?

Where is your soul? Where are your heart? We all do a string. And everything is like in harmony, you know. E every little world coming to to the Father.

from having And he listened to us, to our prayers. And that's why everybody in the whole world need to do that. And and and be and they come in at peace and your m and your mind's soul and heart. You're exactly right. It sure absolutely will.
