At Christmas, the true meaning of the season revolves around the birth of Jesus, but many people celebrate a different Jesus, leading to a distorted view of his nature and role. Understanding the differences between various Christian denominations and cults, such as Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses, is crucial in sharing the true gospel with others. A Christian's relationship with Jesus is deeply personal and should be based on a clear understanding of who he is and what he has done, rather than on a false or incomplete view of him.

This is the Truth Network. Yeah. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth. I can't hide it, I can't hold it.

A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host.

Yes, it's Christmas, I think, Eve, Eve. Maybe it's Christmas Eve, Eve, Eve. It's in there somewhere. And as we're thinking about that whole idea, this being a live show, and we would love for you to call in and share. What do you think which Jesus was born in Bethlehem?

I don't know if you've ever thought about that or considered it as something that might be a different opinion, but actually it's huge because You know, when Some people think about Christmas, they're going to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but everyone is not celebrating the same Jesus. And we're going to dig into that a little bit today because, you know, when the angel announced in Luke chapter 2, for unto you this day is born. a Saviour who is Christ the Lord A saviour from what? Then Christ being the Messiah, anointed to do what? And Lord, in what sense is he actually God or a spirit, or what you think.

And so at Christmas, Who do you here's a question I want you to call in an answer? At Christmas, who do you believe the baby in the manger truly was? And how does that belief shape your relationship with him today? In other words, You know, that's critical to what we're really celebrating, right? And so, you guys always call in with the most wonderful statements and ideas, and I love it.

So, I would love for you to call us today: 866-348-7884-866-348-7884. Maybe help us all get a little more meaning in our celebration of Christmas this year and to help us today.

So, honored really to have with us Christy Darlington. She is. With a wonderful ministry. It's called Witnesses for Jesus in Colorado Springs, essentially primarily witnessing to Mormons, but also to some Jehovah's Witnesses as well. And she wrote a fabulous book, Make a Great Christmas Gift for somebody that you may know that's involved in that kind of thing.

It's called Misguided by Mormonism, but redeemed by God's grace welcome. Christy, great to have you on. It's a pleasure to be here. Thank you. And that's a A gigantically huge issue, right?

When you think about that baby in the manger. Uh as you are you know, dealing with people in the Church of Latter-day Saints every day, right? Yes, we in both of the groups that I focus in, both Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons, and you'll notice this on several heretical movements that where they claim they're Christian. But when they're heretical and especially a cult like group where it's high control and manipulative, the one thing you will find consistent in any false religion is that they distort the nature of Christ, who he is, How they define Christian terminology, they'll try to sound Christian. They talk just like us.

Oh, yeah, I believe Jesus is the Son of God. But what they mean by that is something completely different than what we as Christians with the Bible understanding biblical basis for our belief. We have we come to completely opposite views. On who Jesus Christ is.

So it's important to understand where they're coming from and then how to deconstruct their views and help them understand who Jesus really is according to the Word of God. Yeah, that's so beautiful. And I I think about the tagline to your book. redeemed by God's grace, And therein lies the real hub on which everything turns, right? That Absolutely.

Well, you know, there is something here. If I could, I'd like to share 2 Corinthians 11 because it ties right into this. And you'll see where Paul is talking to the Corinthians, and he says in verse 3, but I'm afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your mind should be somehow led astray. From your devotion and purity, the purity of devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit, From the spirit you received, or a different gospel from that one you accepted.

And then he's kind of chiding the Corinthians here. He says, you bear that beautifully. It's the idea that, hey, guys, you've just been letting anybody come in here and teach whatever they want to, and you're just gonna bear somebody who's gonna teach a different Jesus, a different gospel, a different spirit than you received. And you're just bearing along with With it.

So this is kind of like a tongue in cheek, you know, saying that that y you know, you bear this beautifully as if, you know, he's not saying that's a good thing, it's a bad thing. And he's warning them not to be led astray from purity of devotion to Christ by believing in a different Jesus. Oh, absolutely. And therein lies the opportunity.

So, as you're listening today and you're thinking, gee, Um I know what Jesus saved me from. You know, or I know how he is anointed in my life, or I know how he's Lord. We would love to hear from you. 866-348, or maybe you got a question for Christy or a comment about the LDS Church or Jehovah's Witnesses that you've tried to witness to. We would love to talk to you.

866-348-7884-866-4444. Three four eight six. 7884. And so there it witnesses for Jesus. Can you kind of give us an idea of what that organization actually, you know, what's it like day to day there?

Well, day to day, I mean, it varies. I do this from the home. To, you know, I help people through Zoom calls. I've done some training at Karis Bible College. Teaching Christians how to witness to Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses, and I do a lot of things through Zoom so I can also connect it with my website.

I would like to give people, I'm going to give you guys, our main site is forwitness.org. That's the number for witness, W-I-T-N-E-S-S.org. That's where you can find resources on both these two main groups that we focus on, as well as other viewpoints, even atheistic ideas how to debate, discuss. And when I say debate, I'm saying that lightly. Our primary goal is to reach the heart of the person.

And you start by asking questions to reach their mind, but ultimately the Holy Spirit's the only one that can get through to the heart.

So start with forwitness.org, and then that'll lead you into our other sites. ForMormon.org is specifically to reaching LDS, whether they're active in the church. and willing to look at things or whether you're a Christian witnessing to them. For Mormon, M-O-R-M-A-N, so it's the number for Mormon.org, has all of those resources and kind of i it's catered in a way that a person isn't you know overwhelmed by all the stuff we have at For Witness for all the groups. It's just very specific to Mormonism.

And then of course, forjehova.org is the same way catered more towards reaching that person in those groups, in the group of Jehovah's Witnesses.

So yeah.

Alright, so How did you, you know, what's the story behind the story? How did God bring you into that? Yes.

So I was graduating from high school. My cousin was serving a mission for the Mormon Church. He converted because his girlfriend at the time was LDS, and her family was all together, while his family ended in divorce.

So, I mean, his parents divorced, and so he was looking for something that would support. More of a family type You know, He wanted to work with that. And so having a girlfriend with her family all together and the Eldius Church supports family living and, you know, more. Supportive of that. That's what drew him into Mormonism.

And unfortunately, of course, he married. uh into that and um has been very a very committed Mormon since. I did try to talk to him, but he was more in love with his family and his girlfriend, his church than he was in Jesus with Jesus. And so when I asked him tough questions, he couldn't answer. He chose To cut off the communication on and didn't want to discuss that anymore.

He just wanted to, he wants Mormonism for what it gives to him rather than for who Jesus. Is and what he offers. And ultimately, that's what it comes down to, whether you're dealing with a Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness. is their loyalty. Is it going to be a commitment to truth and who Jesus is?

Or is it a commitment to their comfort in their religion? And for many Mormons, the reason they stay LDS when they know in their head that it doesn't make sense, that things don't don't really work out when you look at the scriptures and all. I've I've fundamentally come to that issue where I've had people in these groups say to me, I cannot go against my faith. Because of my family. Wow, well, we gotta go to a break.

And during the break, it's a great time to call us. Which Jesus was in the manger? What do you think? 866-348-7884? And how does that shape your relationship?

With Jesus, as you listen to what we're talking about, 866-348-7884. We'll be right back. Which Jesus do you think was born in Bethlehem when the angels said. Right, a Savior who is Christ the Lord, a Savior from your perspective, from what? He was Messiah, he was Christ anointed for what?

In what sense do you feel like he's Lord? What are the. What is your experience with other religions that you've had a chance to talk to the people and those kind of things? We've got. Christy Darlington with us, wonderful with ministry with witnesses for Jesus in her book, Misguided by Mormonism.

But also, we got Chuck is in Greenville, Ohio, has got a comment for us.

So, Chuck, you're on Truth Talk Live. Good afternoon. Yeah, hi. Bro, he's Emmanuel he's got with us. I love it.

And uh Oh yeah, um I love the way that uh Walter Martin would teach about uh with the cults uh With Mormons to Just teach the truth and teach the word of God. don't go into all the stuff about Joseph Smith or the Mormon Church or all that, but just to teach the Trinity, teach about how Jesus said, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Speaking of raising himself, and as the Bible says that Jesus raised himself, it says. That the Holy Spirit raised him. It says that the Father raised him, and it says that God raised him.

Uh it's all New Testament. I'm in my car bringing my wife's supper home right now. I've pulled over.

Well, thank you for being careful. I can't give you all those scriptures right now off the top of my head, but I remember those. And just like. One that I've used myself with Jehovah's Witness, just walking down the street giving out Gospels of John. And I ran into this uh Jehovah's Witness couple uh two different times And I asked them, I remembered the one Burst that Walter Martin had asked a Jehovah's Witness that had been born again, become a Christian.

He said, What was the scripture? What really. got got your attention when you were in uh the witness and uh He said, I believe it's Hebrews 1:6, where God tells all the angels to worship Jesus his son And of course, you know, the Jehovah's Witness teach that you're not to worship anyone but Jehovah.

So, you know, I just asked them to go home and study that. Just planting seeds. Uh I'm seventy-six now, but when I was saved. I was about twenty eight And we lived in Vandalia, Ohio, and we had Jehovah's Witness come three summers in a row. And it was like, um Two boys.

And then one time it was two girls, and another time it was two more boys. And they would come to my house, and being a fairly new Christian, I still wanted to. uh talk with them about the Lord Jesus because he had so dramatically saved me.

So they had a uh album of Walter Martin's Kingdom of the Cults in the church library. And each time they would come, I would say, okay, I'll sit down. And talk with you, but first, you know, we have to listen to this tape. I would ask them to agree to do that. And each time they did, And by the time that they listened, it was, I believe, maybe the title might have been The Maze of Mormonism or something, but.

After Walter Martin would speak on the through the tape on On the uh you know, deity of Christ on on the Trinity Just uh the incarnation uh different things that he would t teach on By the time that we got done listening to it, there wouldn't be very much. for them to even talk about.

So I'm curious, Christy, as you're listening to this, obviously, with your experience, are you familiar with what he's talking about?

Well, yeah, I mean, I cut my teeth on Walter Martin's material, and it's excellent. I mean, I'm not saying anything. um that I would change as far as The arguments are solid. But when it comes to dealing with occults today, there's also that They have been trained on how to argue more so their beliefs. They've also.

They moved on from Walter Martin's and they've reinterpreted a number of the verses that Martin likes to use or likes to use, and they're still valid verses, but it's just learning how to deal with that at that level. It's not something we can get into depth, but I have a whole book. Yes, you should believe in the Trinity, Helping Jehovah's Witnesses, you know, their brochure on that. I take the whole thing apart that they produced in 86, and I showed where they misquote. passages and church fathers and all of that.

And and see, I found for Jehovah's Witnesses especially, you need to break their trust in the organization. Or they'll always go with, well, you know, Jehovah's gonna base his acceptance on me, on my loyalty to what the Wash air says over what I understand in the Bible because they're taught they can't understand the Bible for themselves.

So while I agree with Walter Martin, yes, the fundamental issue is to focus on Christ, you also need to be dealing with their trust in that organization. And until that's broken, they will not change their view of how they interpret scripture. Trying to listen to that.

So Yeah, and also their New World Translation. From what I understand, and it may have changed because I'm it's been a while since I've really done any studying. Or listen to anything. You know, maybe I need to read your book. It'd be some fresh material.

But. There you go. I'd make a great Christmas present. Yeah, yeah. And I was gonna say, you know, I I I have a lot of things on how to use their New World Translation and their Kingdom in a Linear.

And they now have published Kingdom in a Linear on their site, jw.org. They actually have the Kingdom in a Linear. You could if you know how to use it, you could use their phone to witness to them. They can look it up right there and you don't have to have all the books like I used to back in the day when I started.

So I think so.

Well, is it is it still true that they don't really have any Greek scholars as far as interpreting their New World translation?

Well, it's true that when it was translated, they did not have a Greek scholar. They had somebody who studied it, but he failed the simple Hebrew test. He was the most knowledgeable person on the translation committee. But when it comes to supporting their translation, they have come up with some very liberal scholars to try to support it, so they'll cite them. And so yeah, I mean, just trying to argue scholar upon scholar, you're gonna kinda be hard pressed to go that angle.

I would go back to what does the text actually say and what is the Greek? You know, well, how do we when it's trans you have the translation English to Greek and it's on their site. And it says, ask me anything in my name in John 14, 14, and their translation rev re gets rid of the me, does not follow their own text, and says, ask anything.

So that you don't have prayers to Jesus because they don't believe he's God. I mean, that becomes a a more difficult situation for a Jehovah's Witness to argue about because it's right there on their site in the text of Scripture, and yet their Bible doesn't follow it.

Well, Christy and Chuck, I'm going to jump in on my own here if you guys. Wouldn't mind I I came out of Scientology. Myself, I was in Los Angeles. Yeah, right. God saved me from that.

And so if you come out of Scientology, Anybody that has knows that I get calls from Scientologists every week I mean, for fifty years. Since I left. And so I've had numerous opportunities to witness to these guys because. You know, it's hardly a week goes by they don't get a new one. And What I have discovered.

For me, it says in the book of Acts: you're going to receive power on high to be my witness. that usually if I just explain This is what Jesus did for me. This is what he saved me from. Here's what my relationship with Jesus feels like. Those conversations um seemed to bear the most fruit.

With, you know, when you get into that kind of thing.

So I agree with what you're both saying, something to get him going, but at the end of the day, You know, we're witnesses too.

So, yeah.

Well, everybody's got to hang on. We got a break coming. We got Mike also and Dayton wants to in on the conversation to have fun. We're going to remind you her book, Misguided by Mormonism, and it's formorman.org. Welcome back to True Chalk Live.

Today, now as you think about it. You know, being so close to Christmas, what does it mean that the angels called him? You know, to the shepherds I said, This baby is Jesus, in other words, a Savior. Who is Christ the Lord? And not just a teacher or a prophet.

What say you? How does that strike you? 866-348-7884-866-348-7884.

So blessed to have with us Christy Darlington with Witnesses for Jesus. Her website is for the number four. Right? Mormon.org. And her book is Misguided by Mormonism.

But also we got Mike is in Dayton, Ohio. He's got a comment for us. Mike, what say you, buddy?

Well, I say um Hope I can do it justice. I pray that every day, and I never seem to get it. Exactly.

So, you know, when the shepherds, when the angels came to the shepherds, I'm going to do it Mike style. I'm not going to do it Mike style. Yeah. So when the angels came to the shepherds, And the angels told him there's going to be a baby and wrapped in swallowing clothes. in a manger.

in the trough of the animals.

Okay. The trough that we've seen is not a wooden trough. It's really of a stone trough with water in it and stuff. You know, that's where the animals came. and they drank water and they ate feet out of the stone trough.

And so when the shepherds came, That was when they sacrificed a lamb for their sins. They wrapped him up into swallowing clothes and put him in that stone trough. And that was a sacrif they made a sacrifice for their sins and and to, you know, to God. And this is a sign. This was a sign to the shepherds saying, This is the Son of God, who is the spotless lamb, who is wrapped in swallowing clothes like a lamb.

and his sacrifice for sin our sins. and he's going to die for our sins and be sacrificed. And that's what Jesus means to me. And that's what he did for me. He sacrificed himself so he can forgive me of my sins.

and I can be born again and saved. And uh um that that that is uh amazing. Covering the numbers. Right.

Now it is. It is that he's a savior from your sin, right? He's a savior. And so, Christy. Jump on in here.

Yeah, well, I really loved that picture of him, you know, being in the swaddling clothes, tied in with the sacrificial lamb connection that God was building there. But an important aspect, you know, as the son of man, he was taking all of our sins on our flesh. You know, he took on all of our humanity, and he had to die as a son of man in order to pay for our sins. There's that connection, redemption connection in the Jewish culture. You're probably familiar with that.

You know, you had to be of the same type. I have the To be able to redeem a family member, you had to be of that family.

So God had to come down in the person of his son, Jesus, and take on all of humanity in himself. In order to bear the price of our sin to redeem us, it couldn't be just some created angel or spirit brother of Lucifer, as Mormonism teaches, or as the Jehovah's Witness teaches, that Jesus is just, you know, an angel of Archangel Michael coming into humanity. No, it had to be God taking on humanity in Himself, or He could not redeem us. Because of the redemption rules, they had to be of the same family.

So, yeah, excellent picture there. And I like to point out, too, when Mormons get this concept wrong when they say, well, Jesus is the Son of God, they think of Jesus as begotten in some heavenly world by a heavenly mother and a heavenly father who then came down, he's some sort of created being. Um God is not God as we know Him, eternal, no beginning, no end of life, no end of days. They don't have a concept of an eternal God.

So, when they're thinking of God as an exalted man, so they it's just so hard when you say Jesus is the Son of God, they think of him as a created being of like a physical. Uh son of God in the heavenly world.

So his God nature is begotten, not not the human nature. We understand that those phrases to refer to God in uh through the Holy Spirit impregnating Mary to become human, um but they don't have that concept because they don't have a concept of an uncreated God.

So you gotta go back even further when you're talking to a Mormon. Jehovah's Witnesses understand um God the Father is uncreated, but they again mess up when they get to him being the Son of God to think of Jesus as a created angel.

So I like to do this little trick with, especially with Mormons. This seems to work really well. I used it out in Utah this last time for a general conference. I was talking with some Mormons and I said, okay, so can you create your brother? And they're like, no.

Can you birth your brother, you and your wife? Are you able to birth your brother? No.

Okay, so how can Jesus be your spirit brother? And again, in the concept of Mormonism, that's like. you know you were he was just created as one of god's many created um brothers you know jesus was one and lucifer was another and then all the other spirits that eventually become became humans Um were created. And I'm like, if Jesus is created, if he is a spirit brother in that sense, then he can't be my creator. I can't make my brother and my brother cannot make me.

So for him to be my creator, he must be eternal God in the sense of having no beginning of days nor end of life. And we see that in Hebrews 7:3.

So that's kind of how I deal with that, with the Mormon concept. And it it I also tie this in with John chapter one. Um where all things were created through him and verse 3, not even one thing was made that was made. Very clearly on verse 3 of John 1, that Jesus created all things.

So if He created all things, how could He have created Himself if He's in the box of creation? He has to stand outside of the box of creation, and in that sense, He is my Creator God, and therefore not my Spirit Brother.

So there you go, Mike. Mike, I'm curious, Mike, have you ever. Um You know, 'cause you're one of the most witnessing people I know. You're out there all the time. talk to people about.

Have you ever run across or tried to witness to your Jehovah's Witness for a a Mormon? Yeah, I went right to the heart of it all. I says, do you believe that Jesus is God? Automatically. I mean, if he's not God, Then we're we we are going to disagree.

And what did what did they how did that go? And it's been a while. How did that go? We talked. I gave him some scriptures.

I can't remember them off the top of my head. I'm sorry. No, it's okay. I'm just curious to what your experience is. Because I know you talked to.

A ton of people about Jesus, and I was just curious. Was it a Mormon or Jehovah? It was Jehovah's Witness that you were talking about? Yeah, um both uh Mormon and Jehovah Witness, um, um, both. Um, you know, um, it's about the same, that's what how I started the conversation: is Jesus God, you know, I mean, and uh, that's what I've been taught to tell ask, you know, and and then they give me here's your opportunity, Mike.

I'm telling you that you need this book, like you, we're gonna give you more information, right? Right, yeah, right, this guy. No, I'm serious because I know that if anybody is gonna. Come up against this because you're all the time asking people about Jesus, and they're going to go, Well, I'm a Mormon, or I'm a Jehovah's Witness, or I'm a Scientologist. Whatever you might run against that one sometime.

You go, I know a guy. But anyway, and I'd like to. Mike, I would like to offer him actually my book on Jehovah's Witnesses. Yes, you should believe in the Trinity since he loves that angle. Because a lot, I have stuff in my other book on the misguided Bible Mormonism, but this Trinity book is excellent for his angle, like wanting to go down.

Is Jesus God and how do you actually unravel that in their mindset? Oh, it's another book? I did not know. Oh, yeah, I have several books. Yep, so this is a Yes, You Should Believe in the Trinity, and it's specifically dealing with the Jehovah's Witness concept of created versus, you know, being the creator.

Yes, You Should Believe in the Trinity by, again, Chris T. Darlington. How wonderful. Wonderful. Another great Christmas gift idea for you.

As usual, I am. And I'll get that off to him. I'd love to give him this. I think he'd love it. Wonderful.

Mike, what's your address?

Well, it's hold on the line. Yeah, hold on the line. We'll give it to Grayson. Grayson will get it from you, and he'll get it to Christie. That'll work.

If somebody wanted to know 16, 13. Yeah, probably not to. I really don't care. Come to my house, and I'll whiff it to you. We're going to put you on hold, Mike, and Grayson's going to get your address so we can get it to Christie.

Probably too bold. I'm sorry. But anyway, thank you, Christy. And so. Yeah.

I didn't realize that. Again, that's wonderful that you've got several books because it. You know, there's wonderful folks out there that call in all the time. And by the way, we would love for you to call us now, 866-348-7884. We're by no means done with the callers.

866-348-7884. Especially, you know, if you've witnessed two Mormons or even anybody.

Okay. that that you've struggled with your belief system and you needed you know a little more framing uh to help you with that process. You know, it's resources that are out there just you know, how cool will it be, Christy, someday you'll be in heaven and you go, man. Thank you for writing that book. It helped out Mike, and Mike talked to me.

Right? You just don't know. I've already had some amazing stories like that with my resources because I've been doing this since 2004 is when we started the nonprofit, but actually 97. I started uh and and it sounds like with Witnesses for Jesus, y y you're when you say you're doing these Zoom conferences, you're teaching churches and um Sunday school classes. How do people hook up on that?

So what I've been doing, a lot of it's been online lately.

So I always encourage people to contact me through my website. And I have several sites.

So I'm going to say fullwitness. org just because I deal with both cults. And the four witness has links to both. Of my websites that deal with, you know, depending on their topic of question, you know.

So, yeah, contact me through for witness.org, and then we can connect how to go about like your, you know, if I'm traveling to your area, like I go out to Salt Lake a lot, I can connect during that time that I'm out for the general conferences I witness to Mormons on the street. But then also, I can do classes over Zoom, so we can do home groups that way. If you can connect through Zoom, and just, yeah, just at this point, go through my website contact form and You'll see my name drop. Pop up. But either way, I check most of the emails anyway.

Good.

Well, I saw it looked like Chuck tried to call back in and something happened with the connection. We hope you'll call back, Chuck. It looked like two or three lines ended up there for a second. Yeah. 866-348-7884.

Yes.

Go ahead. Yeah, and I was going to say anyone listening can connect with me through my websites. Either any of the sites will get to me, but for witness.org. Has that link and obviously to my books. I have a whole store of different books I've written and things that are free that people can download.

Oh, good. It looks like Chuck is calling back in. We need your call. 866-348-7884-866-34-TRUTH. We'll be right back with a whole lot more.

How about you? Who was that baby in the manger? And Is he really a member of the Trinity? 866-348-7884. We'll be right back.

Truth, talk, lie. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today, who do you say? That was laying in the manger. in Bethlehem that we're going to celebrate here in a few days.

Uh Jesus Christ the Lord a Saviour. Who is Christ the Lord A savior from what? Those kind of questions, we would love to hear from you. 866-348-7884-866-348-7884.

We do have Chuck calling back in. Chuck, you're back on True Talk Live. Aye. Yeah. You know, that's that's one of the hardest parts for me.

is when I'm when I'm out in the public, Marketplace. Um witnessing to people and basically I I share Gospels of John. through pocket testimony And um You know, I Ah basically ask them if they would like some good news. It's really hard for me to start out telling them, you know, that they're lost and that they're you know, that they're center And they're eternally doomed and stuff like that. And really, they need to hear that first because They don't think they need a Savior until they Believe that they're lost.

And um Yeah, that's all part of going back to the manger, right? That it's it's meant for the hungri hungry and thirsty. You know, that's what he came for, the hungry and thirsty. And and part of that opportunity is you're witnessing to people is to create that hunger or thirst for something that they don't sense they need. Yeah, and I need to really, I pray about it, and sometimes I do.

you know, start out talking about You know, we're sinners and we need Christ, and this is really good news that way. But other times it's just too easy to especially when I'm on the go I'm a caregiver for my wife, and I kind of do everything on the go. It's not like I can. sit down and spend however much time you know, that they wanna talk. Uh my wife is uh You know, she's had cancer.

She's got COPD now. And I go get her meals and I have to go get her, you know, medicines and stuff. And I'm not complaining. I thank God that I have the privilege to be able to do it. And that she's okay, and that he brought her to her cancer and everything.

But, you know, that's just the way that I have to do it.

So Christy, considering that, what would you suggest?

Well, you know, he's right. If you're on the go all the time, you don't have a lot of time to sit and read and study. But there are a couple of resources that can be helpful. The first thing I would say, you're on the go, you meet somebody, you're not sure how to bring up the subject of sin. you know, you might ask 'em, especially if you deal with someone in occults, at what point in that religion that they're following do they have assurance of eternal life?

Do they know that they've done enough? Because in Mormonism and in Jehovah's Witnesses, they've got to work To make the you know, make themselves acceptable enough for God to give them eternal life and they all define it differently. But the bottom line, I lo I love that question because it opens up You know, look at what Matthew 5, 48. Jesus says, you must be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect. That's on the heels of, you know, if you look at a woman to lust after her, you committed adultery in your heart.

If you're familiar with the way of the master, he uses the Ten Commandments to bring a person to they think they're a good person, but they realize that they're a lying, you know, a dishonest person because we all have done that. And so you bring the law and then you bring grace. And I do that with occult. I do kind of a hybrid version of that, depending on which religion I'm dealing with. But at what point, none of them can say they have assurance of eternal life.

They have a hope so, but not a no-so. And so that's what I would do. You're on the go, that's the one place I'd go. And if you don't know a lot about the religion, ask them a lot of questions.

Well, how do you know that you've done enough? Or how do you know that's going to work? Or you know, all those questions. And for me as a Christian, 1 John 5, 11 through 13 tells me how I can know that I have eternal life. Because he who has a son has a life.

These things I've written unto you that you may know that you have eternal life. Exactly.

So that's the simplest gospel in a nutshell, and you can use that anywhere. That's beautiful, Christy. Absolutely. Thank you. Thank you, Chuck, again for calling us back.

And thank you for serving the Lord the way you are, both with your wife and in witnessing when you can. Keep up the great work, my friend. Merry Christmas to you. Thank you. God bless you.

God bless you. Yes.

And if I could add one more thing too for someone like Chuck, who's out there on the road a lot, I also have Misguided by Mormonism but Redeemed by God's Grace available on Audible. And if you're an Audible lover like I am, you know, that's a good way to consume content. I'm going to be doing more books on Audible, but that's the only one I got up right now. And um it'll at least teach them how to talk to Mormons without having to You know, read it. You can listen while you're riding.

It's absolutely beautiful, especially with all the technology that's in many cars today. You know, they can Access audible easily and play it right through their sound system.

So, you know, that's pretty amazing.

So. You've you've got all these different resources and and You know, as as we're finishing up, we just have a few more minutes left. I I know you want to make sure that our listeners know how they can get through to all these different things. Yeah, I'm gonna because you have such a broad listener base dealing with both of the groups, I'm gonna kinda put the focus on forwitness.org. That's the number four, witness, w i t n e s.org.

And that way, any question on either of the groups or any. I have lots of video content as well. People can watch. And I have one minute questions for Mormons. They could just, if you get them at the door, you'd play the video for one minute and ask them the question that's in the video.

Very easy way to witness.

So I got to do more on troubles winning because I just don't have the one minute side of that yet, but there's a lot. That we can do. And of course, the book are also available. You are you suggesting you show it to the Mormon or you're just familiar with the one question based on the what you got one minute, that's a training video? Yes, I have actually several one minute videos, and it's all part of the YouTube channel.

They can access my resources. I have books on Mormonism, audio MP3s they can listen to for free, how to talk to Mormons about the Trinity. This is on the forMormon.org site and forjehova. org. I have the same kinds of things.

But on the Four Mormon side, I already have one minute video, a whole series of videos. You could watch whichever one you want to you think would be fun to ask the next time they come. And literally pull your phone out, play the video, because it's all right there on our website. and you can uh bring it up on your phone. And yeah, Mormon missionaries are not allowed to go to YouTube and look at videos, but you could play it for them.

And it's only a minute question for to ask them. But there's several videos so you can pick. Yep. And then I've got little witnessing cards, so like um business card size and one question, you keep them printed out at the door, hand it to them. Hey, I don't have time to talk right now, but here's my card and hey, come back and we can talk later.

Give them that little card and they got the question before they go. And I've got that for Jehovah's Witnesses as well.

So um just about any topic, any setting, we can I can help you learn how to share your faith. And so if you go to the number four witness.org. Right? Then that'll g that'll give you links for all this different, right? There's books.

That's right. There's cards. I love the cards. I know Chuck's going to love those cards because it sounds like he's got plenty of tracks and stuff like that. Yeah.

And and then of course the audio and the video. And we're always building things out.

So just continue. Sign up for my newsletter. Don't forget that. We need to have people sign up for the newsletter. They can get the links to the latest materials that we've developed for the month and Keeping people up to date.

How about Lanan? How about prayer? Do you have something. on that. Witnessing to are you talking about like a guide for how to wi pray for your loved ones?

Or these lost that are in these cults, right? Yeah, there's a lot of scriptures that talk to pray that God would give them grant them repentance, leading to the knowledge of the truth. I love that Second Timothy passage. I think it's I could be I don't want to try to remember the reference exactly, but Second Timothy, I think two twenty four, twenty five, I could be off on whether it's first or second Timothy. But yeah, I have a list of verses that people can pray for their loved ones on the site.

Um, try let's see, which one did I put it under? I've got a lot up.

So they can um But that's helpful. I mean, to know, okay, here's some verses that you can pray. Because to me, you know, the Holy Spirit is obviously the one that's like you had said at the beginning of the show. You know, he's the one that's going to grab their heart. You can help their brain kind of get them warmed up.

But at the end of the day, those prayers. Are you connected with God? 'Cause, you know, unless He leads them, it ain't happening.

So That's right. And I love that passage too in First Peter three, fifteen, where you give an answer to everyone who asks of you the reason for the hope. That is in you with gentleness and with respect. But the key is asking.

So I pray that God puts within them a longing. to be able to ask. And I think it's under forwitness.org, a list of verses for how to pray. There's a link under About Us, says how to help us. And if you scroll down on the page, Join a monthly email newsletter to pray, and I have a list of verses.

And also our newsletters are up there too. You can see some of the past themes that we've shared. But close there's a click here for scriptures to use in prayer.

So that's under about us. And again, that would be under how to help us. Obviously, prayer is how you can help us the most. And then, of course, the scriptures to use in prayer. Articles there, and there are a ton of verses that you can read and pray over for your loved ones.

Yeah, that's beautiful. That's wonderful. I figured you did. And it's it only makes sense. Yeah, I just have to remember the navigation to get to it.

Again, another thing you can obviously do, you know, if you're trying to remember this and you're driving right now. Christy's name is Christy Darlington. And for those race car fans out there, we all in this part of the world know where Darlington means. But if you remember Christy Darlington as an author, right, you go to Amazon, and I'm sure you can see all her books and links and things there along those lines.

So again, God bless you for all the work that God's given you and the loining he's put on your life, Christy. Any last word before we leave? Oh, I would just say, you know You want to pray that God will open your ears. He'll give you an opportunity when you start praying for these chances to be able to witness. you know, read and study and get on our YouTube and our newsletter.
