When Did You Delight in the Lord?

When did you just have something happen that just delighted you beyond. Your wildest imagination. We would love to hear that story today. This is a live show, and what makes this show so spectacular is the listeners. And we need to hear from you.

When did God just reach up and just, man, showed you something you did not see that one coming and it just took your breath? Maybe you pulled over the side of the road and just started crying just to think about it. 866-348-7884. 866-3487884. Believe me, so many people would.

Enjoy your testimony of when you delighted. It goes something like this. Like we I read a a guidepost article some years ago. Uh about this Church of the Frescas, which is up in West Jefferson, North Carolina. And there they had these.

paintings that were done by this uh amazing artist in a church that actually was completely failing in as it were that the teeth paintings Um The the They're actually called frescoes, where the color of the pigment of the paint is in the plaster itself, that's like what's in the Sistine Chapel. And so I read this article that talked about these and how miraculous they were: that there was a Mother Mary on one side of the sanctuary. On one side of the pulpit, and that particular Mary that was the fresca. Her Body was the the artist because his wife was I mean, his wife's body, the artist's wife's body, and the head was that of a woman that he saw walking in the streets of West Jefferson at the time, which was fairly lowly populated. He asked her a name and she said Mary, but then nobody in the town ever heard of or saw of you know, it was not one of those towns where people would just be walking around and it was just a miracle.

And so his word began to spread about these amazing frescas and the rumor about Mary that was there, then the next thing you know, there was another painting of John the Baptist slash fresco. It's not a painting. And The night that he finished that particular fresco, there was a lightning bolt that happened that cracked his head. And so Right along his neckline, like John the Baptist would be. And it You know, that got things even going.

Next year, you know, this church is really starting to grow, and all of West Jefferson is starting to grow. They're putting in motels and fast food restaurants for all the people that are coming there. And the last painting he did, which was Christ in the Resurrection, is behind the pulpit, and just this amazingly Beautiful picture of Christ, a resurrected Christ again as a fresco. that was like in the same style because the man was learned it in it Italy. And in that painting, the night he finished it, the fresca, the night he finished it, he looked up and he saw above where he had put the fresca the words inscribed that he had not seen previously that said, We're surrounded by such a cloud of witnesses.

And as he began to think about that, he looked in the clouds of what he had just. Have done with this fresco, the clouds, and he began to see images that he did not. paint on purpose, right? They're in the clouds, but he did not see them.

So I read about this and I was like, Tammy, we got to go. We got to go see this place. And and in in hopes that I would delight myself in the Lord.

So we we go to West Jefferson We get there like fairly late at night thinking we may not even be able to get in 'cause it's already dark and it's winter time and that kind of thing. And so we get there, it's dark, and there's not a soul, but the church is unlocked to just go in and have a seat. And oh, I will never ever forget As long as I live, like a lightning bolt that comes, the tears that come, like you're sitting there in. The pew, and you look up, and you see these, knowing the story of Mary, knowing the story of John the Baptist, but seeing the images in the cloud. And it's just like they say, God.

Inhabits the praises of his people. And so I just delighted. I mean, and I'll never forget it. And Tammy and I go back there and pray quite often when we can to West Jefferson, but it's the idea. Of You know, Psalm 37, verse 4: Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart.

You know, I was. you know, task earlier th this week by my boss, Stu, Who said, Ravi, I want you to do Truth Talk Live on Tuesday. And so as I began to pray, like, God, what do you want me to do for Truth Talk Live? What do you want me to do? What do you want me to do?

Well, He just put it on my heart. Call Mike. in Dayton, Ohio, that you may not know. His last name is DeVolt. And uh See what he has to say.

And so I called Mike. Talk about delighting myself.

So, you know, I was delighting just to be in prayer with God. It's always just like when you're praying, how fun is that? And he said, call Mike.

Well, when I called Mike, I even had more fun because, Mike, what did you say? I'd say that. I said, Why are you calling me? What did I do wrong? You know what I mean?

Yeah, and And you see you said to me, um, God uh Yeah. And God said to call you. And I said, well, this is what's been laying on my heart, is this verse right here. Um delight in the Lord. Uh you know um you know the Psalms thirty seven Verse 4.

Yeah, delight yourself also in the Lord. and he shall give you the desires of your heart. And um I was been pondering that, And uh and wherein When you know it says to me You know Good give. Good Sorry. No.

Yeah. Yeah. You know, to To uh trust in the god God with all your heart, you know, and um And when you do that, you're you're you're leaning on his You're delighting in him. And when you deli delight in him, he changes your heart. And when he changes your heart, and you you you do his desires.

And um yeah, go ahead. No, no, you're right. It it lines up perfectly. You, once you get in a line. with God's desires, obviously As you begin to see his will in so many things, it's going to light up your world in huge ways.

And so, for you personally, as you think about when you delighted in him, how did he give you the desires of your heart? I can think of a few because I know you, but I'm interested in the story that you think about. Yeah, um right now I'm thinking about When I was going into the Marine Corps, um, My you know, every every young person in in life is like needs direction. You know what I mean? They need guidance.

And and and and when you When you delight in the Lord, you say to yourself, Okay, God, I'm trusting you. I'm obeying your word. I want to do what you want me to do in my life. And now I need guidance, Lord. And God said to me, Go in the Marine Corps.

Well, When I went in the Marine Corps, I was taking the ASBAT test, and I barely passed it. I mean, I got like a thirty-five or whatever it is. And they made me take it again right before I got in. And I was sitting in a hotel room. And I hated Test.

I was horrible in high school. I was horrible. Yeah. And that's and school. I was almost a little bit I am a little bit dyslexic.

So here I am getting ready to take the test and I'm in a hotel room and I said, God, I need to help me, please. I need to take this test tomorrow morning, and it's early. He said and then He said, open the drawer. I opened the drawer, and there's the Gideon Bible in there. And at the time, I didn't know there was a Bible in the drawer.

But now I know as a Christian, you know, over 30 years there's Bibles in every every hotel room when And that is an awesome sur uh you know Awesome. Anyways, God said to me, Read the Bible. I said, Okay, God, what do you want me to do? Read the Bible. I got to take a test on you.

Yeah, I love that. And he said, read the Bible. And then I said, okay, I read the Bible. I read the Bible until I fell asleep. Got up the next morning, and I was clear as a bell.

Go ahead. I know we gotta go to the break. Yeah, we gotta go to a break. We're gonna leave. We're going to find out what happened on.

Did you delight in the Lord and Right? As it says, he gave you the desires of your heart. You know, it's kind of neat when you delight in that, and then all of a sudden you see it. And, and, um, Really, really cool is we left our hero Mike. He was joining the Marine Corps as a young man, and having to take this test the night before.

Petrified as uh I'm I'm imagined many of us can relate. Yeah. S or not. Yeah. Tests are tests, right?

And so especially when you're you're wait the night before, and God says, of all things, read the Bible. And he happened to find one there in the drawer. It was a Gideon's Bible. And uh So I'm I'm curious before you get on to the results. What in the Bible did you read when he just told you to read?

How did you know what to read?

Well I I did read Psalms and um that's why this story comes into my head. I started at the beginning of Psalms and I just kept reading Psalms and And and Psalms tells you You know, the trust in the Lord and believe that this is God's will. he's going to take care of you. And he and as long as you Give trust in him and he he returns will give you your desires of your heart. And this was my desire.

I wanted to go into the Marine Corps. I thought this is what God wanted me to do at the time. And I really wanted it in my heart. And I'm like, okay, God, this is what you. They're telling me to do.

Okay, how come it's so difficult? And God said, well, read the Bible and take the test. And I did. And um Man, uh I was so calm with taking the test. Uh the Uh And I aced it.

I I really did. I I got almost the highest score you can get. And so that way, I can go into any MOS I wanted to, which is a a job in the Marine Corps. I can do any job I wanted to in the Marine Corps. And uh and I aced it.

And it's so amazing that the Marine Corps made me take the test two more times because they couldn't believe that I got a thirty-seven the first time and almost aced it to Before, and then I had to take it again, and then I and I did a really good job again, and again. And and this was just a uh a testimony to God that you know he gave me the calmness and the And a sound mind to take this test and to choose my best of my ability. It was awesome. Yeah, and it's fascinating to me, especially to listen to that story, Mike, knowing my own story. Uh mid.

You know, Norman Vincent Peel knew well, as you do now, that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. And so as you said, as you went through the Psalms, they... increased your faith, right? And and as you Your faith was increased. Essentially, you begin to believe in God and you believe He's carrying you through something.

then all of a sudden, but it was a similar thing for me. I bought the power of positive thinking that Tape series hoping to sell more cars because my whole world, or you know, at the time. As a young man, not as young as you at the time, but I was definitely young when I bought the tape series. And the idea was not. To Come to faith in Jesus and later become Christian car guy, everything at the time.

I was just wanting to sell cars. And I pick up this. tape series and the first thing it says is if you want to have A positive mental attitude, i.e. faith, You need the Get up an hour earlier every morning and read the Bible. Similar thing.

And I'm like, what? I want to sell cars. Why would I in the world read the Bible? But I spent you know, a hundred and thirty bucks or whatever on this tape series.

So I'm going to start reading the Bible. And I got saved literally as a result of the that decision because faith did come by here. And as you said, As I delighted myself in the Bible, then he gave me the desires of my heart in so many different ways. It's a Amazing how the stories collide. And I bet as you're listening right now, you're thinking, wow, that kind of collides with my story.

So earlier today, before I talked to Mike, I was talking to my good friend, and one of our assistants in the production booth here is Randall Eberson, actually, Stu's. Cousin. And Randy, you were telling me an amazing story of when you. In fact, I wish everybody could see the look in his eyes when he told me this story, but I just thought the whole radio audience would benefit from. Not only the story, but what you said at the end, which has all sorts of merits.

So go for it, Andy. Rampy?

Well, I'll tell you, I'm not. A a very good speaker, but um I'm a recovering Episcopalian. I confess that I do like the liturgy. I like being the predictableness of the service. There was at the time, this is like 40 years ago, at the time there was a lay renewal movement going on in the Episcopal Church.

uh called Curcio. which uh I like the term just basically is a Christian boot camp. It was a three-day weekend event. And it was comprised of 15 Lectures Over the three-day period, five each day, with activities. interspersed In in the um in the in-between lecture times.

Uh there was plenty of time for reflection and silent meditation. This particular one was held at Maggie Valley. I don't know how many of our listeners know that, but in know this, but that in North Carolina there was a little convent there at Maggie Valley. And we were privileged to to use the facility for this long weekend. And um The chapel that they had that was attached with the convent.

Uh, it's a Roman Catholic convent, by the way. Um was at the top of the hill. Um The Wall behind the altar. was glass. It was windows.

So you were able to look out at the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains there. Um part of the smokies and you get the the whole smoky effect. On the last day of the event. We had a a final Eucharistic Gathering And you, Chris, for those who aren't an Episcopalian, they're taking communion. Right.

Sorry. I get carried away. No, that's all right. I'm in recovery. But it had been a very overcast day.

And this was on Uh the weekend of October 4th, which uh Again, for those people that don't know, is the feast Of Saint Francis. It was, you know, your Right. At least in my opinion, your ideal. image of a servant. Right.

Okay. Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary, use words. His famous quote, right? Exactly. Yeah.

Um But Again, The the liturgy is very special. Um It's a rather long prayer of consecration, and the words that are in the prayer come straight from Paul's words in Corinthians. Um And what the priest does is he lays hands on the bread and on the wine. And then at the moment of consecration, he lifts the chalice and The host, which is the largest wafer.

So you've got this wafer that's bigger than a silver dollar. that he's holding over the chalice and at the very moment he Um sorry. That's okay. At the very moment that he elevated the host and the chalice. The sun broke through.

The clouds And came in the windows, and we got to see the colors of the trees. And it was like God was shouting, amen. You know, my presence is here. Wake up and pay attention. Absolutely beautiful.

When Did you delight in the Lord? When did you have that moment? Like you may have just heard Randy describe or. Or Mike, describe where Man, he was just so present and he just and it was such a delight that you just kind of melted at the point. We would love to hear when that happened for you.

You know, do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity, for they shall soon be cut off like the grass.

and whither is the green herb? Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and feed on his faithfulness. You can imagine Mike as he prepared for his. exam there as a Marine or Randy as he prepared uh for communion and then all of a sudden it kind of hits you between the eyes with delight yourself in the Lord.

Also in the Lord actually, it says, And he shall give you the desires of your heart. And fascinatingly, there are a number of ways of saying delight in Hebrew. You know, I I love the way That different languages give you so much more depth of understanding. Like, we have one word for love in English, and it can mean you love a hot dog, or you could love your wife, or you could love God. All three have a similar word.

But in Greek, as you may know, that they have agape, and they have, which is one kind of love, and they have phileo, you know, which is like Philadelphia, and they have all sorts of different ways of describing that. And in Greek, there's four ways, I understand. In Hebrew, there's seven or eight. um that also describe that well interestingly there are that many if not more ways of saying delight But this particular delight that is talked about in the one here in Psalm 37. is a delight Of A vision.

It starts out with the letter Ian, which has to do with a vision. And it's a vision of faith, something that's going to kind of like drive that nail home inside of you.

So we got Deb is in South Carolina. Deb, you're on Truth Talk Live. Um Hey, how are you? I am wonderful. I'm excited to hear your delight story.

Well, it's it My delight was just in how God makes things work, how how he can make it happen. I uh my mother was in a nursing home with advanced Alzheimer's. I've been at work all day. I went to the nurse's home and stayed a few hours and I was leaving and uh I'm Just it was almost as if somebody was in the car with me telling me to go to this department store that was on my way home. At Hamrick.

I'm not sure if anybody else is familiar with that or not, but I am. I'm from Iron. Yeah, and I said, Well, no, no. 'Cause sometimes when people get dropped off and with just a clothes on their back, I would go and bomb some couple of outfits, you know, sp I said, no, I'm not going to nod, I'm too tired. And again.

Go to ham ricks. I said, no, I'm not going to Hamrich tonight. But when I got to get close to the light. traffic got heavy, I couldn't get into the proper lane to turn. And that's where I was when I realized I wasn't gonna be able to turn.

I was at the driveway into the ham rick store.

So I turn, I go on in, I say, okay. See what's going on here.

So I walked in and I was trying to think: who did I need?

something for. You know, I was trying to figure out why I was even there. And I had been in the store maybe five minutes and a lady walked up and said, Ma'am, are you very, very busy? Are you in a hurry? And I said, no, ma'am, I'm not even sure why I'm here.

She said Well, my mother passed away this morning. My house is full of people, and I just had to get away. I thought I could come up here and find something to bury her in. She said, but I just can't. It's just harder than I thought it was going to be.

She just burst out crying. And so I said, well, come on, let's go back here. And so we went and we picked up, and I know this is such a little thing. But God put me there and we went and we picked out clothes for her mother. You know, we got everything done and we hugged and we cried, and then I got in the car, and it was terrific when I got back in the car.

So when you say it's that this sounds more than it's just huge.

So God had this divine appointment for you, for this poor woman who just lost her mother, and she was. Trying to find clothes? 'Kay. Yeah. Yeah.

I can't imagine, you know it's just wanted to get out of the house. There were just too many people there. And you were there. And isn't it interesting that she walked up to she walked up to you, right? Yeah, she just walked up and said, Excuse me, are you in a real big hurry?

Are you you know? But that was just and it felt so good that God chose me. to help get something done. He didn't need me, but he chose me. Right, right.

There's Modela. Oh, it is. It is. And You know, his good works will appear to you. I'm trying to remember the psalm that I was reading last week.

That's like his good works will appear to you. And that was one of those things. Like. His work just appeared to you and the neat thing is You know, from my perspective, and I would imagine a lot of people listening, it affected you so much that you were willing to call into a radio show and share it with. You know, that that's spectacular.

And then That knew the fact. I mean, that was just, it was. And it was so fun. feeling you know I I hope I blessed her, but I know it blessed me. Yeah, and God is blessed, right?

And he gave you the delight of your heart. That is so amazing. I am so grateful for your call, Deb. I can't tell you. It really warms me.

He he just he he just I'm just overwhelmed. I mean, I just I get in my car sometimes and the sun's coming up or the sun's going down. And I think, how can somebody believe two rocks claims together and caused all this? Everything works together, everything supports. supports the other things that, you know, the progression to make things happen.

And I just I just I just get over so overwhelmed sometimes with just with just with God. That's a beautiful tab. Absolutely beautiful. I'm so grateful again for your call. I hope you have an amazing week.

When did this happen to you? You absolutely delighted in the Lord, and He gave you the desires of your heart, that divine appointment, or something along those lines that you'll never forget. uh that you saw uh the Psalms 37 come to life. Um, that kind of delight where, like, oh my goodness, a vision of Faithfulness that is just man, God showed up and you couldn't miss it. 866-348-8.

7884. So Mike, I know that story blessed you. Oh, it definitely. Her name was Deb. Yeah, that was really really blessed and It reminds me of something else uh that's come just recently.

Um Outside my my uh cabinet shop there was a police officer parked there. And God laid on my heart to go out there and say hi and tell him thank you for being out here. And you know me, Robbie, I like to play pray for police officers.

So You know, I went out there and I raised my hand at him and I waved at him and I said hi. How are you doing? And he come out of his car and he says, You need something, sir? I said, no, I just want to. come over and say hi and tell you how much I appreciate you.

You know, I I'd like to pray for you, keep you safe and, you know, the family. And so we got and he goes, yeah, and he starts talking and He says, you know, that um Charlie Kirk incident really hur um really got to me. And and I he just out of the blue started talking about that. And I let him talk and He was saying, man, I. I really believe that I need to, you know.

get close to God. And then I says, you know, Um Jet Charlie Kirk thing really hurt my uh really made me uh Think about what I'm doing in life. And that's why I'm out here wanting to pray for you, sir. And he says, please do. And I said, he says, police officers, you know, everybody thinks they're just Um Special people, you know, they don't do anything wrong, but we're just like anybody else around.

You know, we go through struggles in life and and and things like that and I says, I I know, um you know, that's you know, and and I prayed for him there and And uh we talked. about different things about Christian Christianity and life. and how to get closer to God. And uh And it was a really blessing for him and me. Um he he said things, I responded back.

it was really cool that we was able to have a communication And um yeah. And then we prayed and I prayed that it kept him safe. And That You know, you You saw that as an opportunity. A lot of people see a policeman sitting there. They don't see that as an opportunity to go pray for him, but, or to ask him, you know?

And I honestly, like, I'm like, wow. You know, the other day, you know, I'm a pastor, right? And, and, uh, It kind of convicted me, Mike. That's all I can say is because, you know, I was out there working on the sign-out front and putting up the letters, you know, like. church does.

And uh The sheriff Came in, it was parked in the parking lot.

So, you know, I came up just to say hi and see what you're doing. I should have said, how can I pray? I mean, I'm like, man, what. What you see as an opportunity, it blows me away. Like, man, what did I.

why didn't I see that? You know? It's so neat and it reminds me of another of ways that I c I can delight in the Lord that, um I am going to uh Nikita Koloff, who does uh mana Show on the Truth Network here is a very, very good friend of mine and has amazing ministry. He does man camp in Georgia, and I'm going to go next week and help him staff that.

Well, one of the things he will do. I I can assure you that's going to happen, is the night before the camp, You know, he will have all the staff, and there'll be a bunch of staff there that have actually never staffed with him before. He brings a lot of people in to help him cook and that kind of stuff. And He will You know, everybody will order whatever they're gonna order and they'll eat and then he'll he'll stand up in front of the group and it'll be quite a large group, probably fifteen people, and he'll say, Okay, I'm gonna buy everybody's dinner tonight. And But what I want you to do is take the money that you would have used for dinner, And I want you to add it all together into a tip for the waitress, and then we're going to bless her.

Right.

And Um I you know, one morning we did this and and I'll never ever forget it because The waitress, when she received this tip, which was several hundred dollars. Um She like just broke down because she was right in the middle of going through a bunch of stuff with the health of her child and going through nursing school at the same time. But It was just like God handed it to her on a silver plate, and she got it. You know what I'm saying? Like, she understood where this came from, and she understood how God had done that.

And, like I said, you know, Nikita sees opportunities that I just don't see sometimes. Like, here's an opportunity to bless everybody by giving them dinner. But then, oh my goodness. He blesses this waitress out of her socks, and we all, everybody sitting at the table, can see God do something amazing, right? It's It's so cool when you see other people do that.

So, fascinatingly, there's another type of delight that is also mentioned in the Psalms, actually, mentioned in the first Psalm. You might be familiar with it. It says, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinner, nor sits in the seats of scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord. His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he meditates day and night.

Now, this is a completely different word. And they're spelled like there are no two letters in this word that are the same as the letters that are in the first word, delight, which you may know that Hebrew letters are pictures. And so this is telling us that, oh my goodness, this is a really different word. Idea here. of delight.

Um Which, you know, just delights me personally.

So Yeah. And as we talked about, the other one has to do with this vision of faith and its provision, okay? this particular picture set. of delight. has to do with union With God's presence.

And Essentially, his word, because the letter, the first letter is the eighth letter, which is called a head, and it has to do with your union with God. And the second letter is a pay, which has to do with God's presence. Jehovah Rafa, it's a healing kind of thing. But that P sound is that second letter. And that second letter Right is if you can imagine if you're uniting with God's presence.

And and then immediately that's pretty delightful, right? And that ends up in this right standing, which is righteousness. The last letter is a Zadi, which is the the letter for righteousness, okay? And so that kind of delight Is what the psalmist is telling us we can have in the law of the Lord.

Well, interestingly, when you think about that delight. that you can meditate on it day and night. But but You know, you saw this in the scripture. Just like Michael was describing that he saw this in the scripture, and then he was delighting in it. And you talk about it, and it's a very neat thing that actually a rabbi taught me, the one I do Robbie and the rabbi with, that passage is telling you when you delight in some part of the Word of God, that's a great place to begin your study because you'll meditate on it day and night.

So, it's kind of a long story, but I'll try to make it short and sweet. Good. Way back in. Way back in the day. Um I was born and raised Roman Catholic and My wife said, Hey, let's start going to this yeah, this mega church.

And um I had been um Way back in the day. After I get out of the military, was working for Cellular one and their tagline was, Can you hear me now?

So, um Yep.

So, um Finally, you know, she convinced me to go to this big church. And um things were difficult with our marriage and things were difficult with with work and such, you know. And The first day we show up, you know, they've got Music and They're all rocking out to the Lord. And um The uh The first person that walks out on the stage is a guy wearing black rim. Glasses on black.

in a gray jacket and pants and he says, Can you hear me now? That was his first work out of his mouth. And for weeks I went to church. you know, crying like a big baby. That, um Yeah, the Lord was speaking directly to me.

So along with the story you talked about earlier, Um one of the things that our pastor, Mike Slaughter, did was that he told everybody At church that Okay. is going to go to something special.

So they called the local pizza place and said, Hey, we want you to deliver a pizza. Uh So that's it's his address.

So they delivered the pizza and they said, well um something special here We want you to come up on stage. And then they handed them that uh offering And again, this It was just amazing to see. you know what what it did for this person and They were quite surprise and blessed and Yeah, really. did a fantastic thing for everybody, so Well Pete, let me just say, like, oh my goodness.

Okay. So I like The beginning part of Can You Hear Me Now? The significance of that. Is, and you may know this. That You know, in Deuteronomy 6 is the famous What they call the Shema.

It's a prayer that's essentially that the Jews would. recite every day, it starts out here, O Israel. World though? And so And with the idea of hearing also comes the idea of obedience and the same idea. But it's here, O Israel, the Lord your God, the Lord is one God, and you will love the Lord your God with all your heart.

So. And and the And and the whole picture of what you're describing To me. is you can hear about God all Over the place, but when you actually hear from God, in other words, you sensed from that man. It wasn't that man that was speaking to you. It was God telling you, you're where you need to be.

Right? Absolutely. Yep. And the results. Yeah.

It kind of freaked me out that being a big mega church and all these people and, you know, what kind of cool lady are they drinking? But. Yeah. Yeah, but it was it was amazing. It was amazing.

Right.

When God touches you. Um Then You know, whatever else. That he's the one that actually is is the whole idea behind any church. You know, if it's God's church... If he can touch you and somebody can actually hear from him, then it becomes real.

And then, as you get a chance to see things like what you saw with that offering, like what an awesome! Like it's just off the hook generous, right? Mm-hmm. Right.

And and I You know, it makes me think of, I have this friend named Mandy Bauer Sox who Actually, did True Talk Live, I guess, last Friday because he has this ministry. to pastors. But one time he he was gonna do this concert For Um Like all these special needs people in Winston-Salem. And In order to rent the Coliseum and get whatever, it didn't matter how many tickets he said, the Lord told him to put up his Jeep, sell his Jeep. to get the money to make it all happen.

And so this guy, he he felt like he heard Like m Andy felt like that's what he heard from God and he he just put it. He just sold his Jeep and put up the money. As I recall the story, it might not be exactly what happened, but I just remember thinking, You've got to be kidding me that God told you to do that, and you did that, and He did do it. And the whole city, like, you had to be there at this concert. It was the baseball stadium that He rented.

to do this. Wow. And it was just huge. But the It was just off the hook generous. And God blessed him.

I mean, like, he wasn't doing without a rider. It was amazing. It was just amazingly off the hook, generous. And when you have a chance to see other people, you know, in that situation, it opens your heart to things like Mike did with praying for the policeman. And, like, man, how can I do that?

Like, God, that's really cool. And so I. I commend you, Pete, for what you're seeing and how God's working in your life. I think it's so cool. Awesome.

Well Mike I gotta say, man. Great topic.

Well Hey, later. quickly later on in the chapter. And which is w which is going going on. Uh Verse uh twenty-three It says, the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Right.

And then he delights. He delighteth in his ways. Yeah, God God delights in those steps, right? Yeah, God delights in the good man's steps. And then that's why if you're delighting in the Lord.

He'll give you your desires of your heart, which is what God wants you to do. And then he orders your steps. And and then you we were deli he's delighted, I'm delighted, everybody's delighted. Yeah, like what? Like Deb.

It's a full circle. Right, right. You you just described Deb's story, right? When she was Turn into ham ricks. Even though she wasn't gonna the traffic was You might be out of heaven almighty or something.

It doesn't matter what you want. God has this plan for you. You're going to hammer it. Right? She's standing there like, and he's delighting.

And as the opportunity opens up and she sees there's actually a purpose for what she's doing, oh man, her heart was in it. And you know, God is looking on that just delighted, just delighted. Oh, amen. It's so beautiful. It really is.

With you know, that pastor ordering that pizza and then you know blessing that. those people. And it's just really, really cool to see Um Or be around other people that are hearing God and feeling their steps ordered. And, you know, actually, how I feel right this minute, because he told me to call Mike. And as a result, I got to hear Pete, I got to hear Deb, I got to hear you, I got to hear Randy.

And I'm going to delight on that all my way home.
