Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news! I can't hide it. I can hold it. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.

This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host.

Well, welcome to Truth Talk Live. I'm Dwayne Carson, and my ministry is called Date the Word. And today, we are not going to go with the verse for today's date the word. Day to the Open the show. I want to give you a verse, two verses from 1 Thessalonians chapter 4.

5. 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 12. It says, We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you. And verse 13, to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. First Thessalonians five: twelve and thirteen, verses that we look to in October.

Especially as we are coming to October the 12th, which is Pastor Appreciation Day, which falls in the midst of Pastor Appreciation Month. And today on this Truth Talk Live show, we want to talk about appreciating our pastors. We want to talk about holding them up in the highest of esteem, which means I need your calls today: 1-866-348-7884. And I want to hear from you. Uh about your pastor.

Uh where you today Brag on your past. Pastor, kind of as a prep for going into Sunday, you know, Sunday, you may not have a chance to talk to your pastor, but you can leave them a note, send them a card. But if you do get to talk to them, to be able to say to them, Thank you, Pastor, for your dedication, your devotion, for your service to our church. We have a special month. We have a very special day, Pastor Appreciation Day, and we would love to have you call in.

and tell us about your pastor. 1-866-348-7884. We're going to put 1 Thessalonians 5. 5, verse 12, especially verse 13, into action today. And then, part of what I want to accomplish as we go through this show is to tell you some things that you can be doing.

To Gray. For your pastor, because having served as a pastor, I can tell you there is nothing more important to me than. Uh someone's saying I want you to know I'm praying for you. Nothing of eternal significance ever happens apart from prayer. And that was a quote by Dr.

Jerry Falwell, Thomas Roe Baptist Church, Liberty University. And that That statement has just been ingrained on my heart. I understand. that without prayer Nothing of eternal significance is ever going to be happening. And I want to be praying for my pastor.

We now attend a church here in Winston-Salem, and I have several members of that, several pastors of that church that are part of the list that I pray for daily. Day after day, I have six. Seven. Prayer request Monday through Sunday that you can pray for your pastor. And I'm going to give them out as we work through today's show.

But right off the bat, we have Jamal. And welcome to Truth Talk Live, Jamal. Tell us about your pastor.

Well Thank you for taking my call, Dr. Carson, and it's such a great topic as usual. I actually do not have an official dedicated pastor as I'm transitioning to a new church. But the church I am transitioning to, I will mention that is Pinedale Church, located off the Silas Creek Parkway, right before you hit the new Walmart on the left hand side. And that's Pastor Matthew.

He was a great pastor, great church, a whole lot of ministries. A whole lot of outreach. Which is very active in their Bible-based line by line. They don't run from anything in the Bible.

So I say, well, this is something that I want to be a part of.

Now as I'm transitioning Yeah. and haven't signed up officially. That's why I gave a little bit of that backdrop. But I would like to just mention a shout out to pastors in general. and how they've been ha having to wear many hats That's a big truth right there.

Pastors wear many hats. That's very true. Thank you for signing off on that. They got to be the counselor. They have to be the referee in a lot of squabbles within the church and even outside of the church.

They have to be on point twenty four hours a day. They don't never leave the office. If somebody sees them at Walmart doing anything out of the ordinary, They have to answer for that. They can't be like, well, I was off the clock at that point, so you can't hold me up for what I did in Walmart, what you saw. They're always on.

on on on display always They always have to be on, so to speak. That's right.

So they they need a lot of prayers, a lot of support. They're also expected to do a lot in the church rather than the church members having to take on more of the responsibility.

So uh I want to give a shout out, support, and I want to pray for the pastors in general, including the pastors on the radio right now. To take the word Carson.

Well, thank you, Jamal, and thank you for your call today. My pleasure. Take care and God bless. We have Linda. From Virginia, Linda, you're on Truth Talk Live and I...

Believe your tell wants to tell us about your pastor. Yes, sir. My name is Linda, and I am here in Virginia. It's a new church. My pastor is Pastor McKinley Miller.

Our church is Spirit and Truth International Worship Center. Inc. and it's located at three thousand and six West Memory Mercury Boulevard in Hampton. Yes, it's a new ministry, but he is there. Him and his wife are very dedicated not only to Christ, right, to also the community.

They're doing a lot. There's a lot of plans in the midst, but I just want to give a shout out to him. They just, the man just Went together and they fellowship together. They got a pedicure.

So So they do stuff together as men. They not only go through the Bible and scripture, they also fellowship together as a family and that the way we do our Our teaching is in a table. Like we have a long table. We all sit and we not only eat, yeah, we partake of food for the body, also food for the soul, right?

So that's the way he does his, and I think it's unique. We're new to this ministry, and I I never had um um been so welcome. My husband and I have been so welcome to a ministry like this. And just like Jesus, you know, just like Jesus was the apostle. We sit, we eat, and we and we div divide the Bible.

So, yeah. And congratulations to all the pastors out there. Yes, yes. There's a book, Meals with Jesus. I don't remember the name of the author right now.

It was done out of Oxford and was one of the most. One of my favorite books I've ever read about being able to set at a meal and teach God's Word because that's what Jesus did. Oh, you're a pastor, you're being fed. Physical and spiritual.

Well, we want to thank you for your call today, and thanks for bragging on your pastor. Thank you. And we need others to call again. You have a wonderful day. We need others of you to call 866-348-7884.

We've got. Conrad from Kentucky. Mr. Conrad. Good morning, how are you today?

I am doing wonderful. How are you? I'm doing great as well. It's been a long time since we got a chance to talk. Yes, sir.

I thoroughly enjoy your your Um inspirational tech seg each Sunday morning just to get me started. Uh, Olmo Wade Church. Yes, sir. Well, I'm going to have to tell you, we're going to have to pause for a second and then catch up here in a few moments. If you'll hang on, we've got to go to a break.

This is Truth Talk Live. And we'll be right back after these messages. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. I'm Dwayne Carson.

Our ministry is Date the Word. And today, instead of going with October the eighth, ten, eight, Proverbs ten, eight, and focus it on that verse. We're going to First Thessalonians chapter five, and the New American Standard says for verse twelve, but we request of you, brethren, That you appreciate those who diligently labor among you and have charge over you in the Lord and give. you instruction and that you Esteemed them very highly in love because of their work.

So, These are our verses for Pastor Appreciation Day coming up this Sunday, October the 12th. And I'm asking you, give us a call. And lift up your pastor today. Tell... us tell our listeners What's so special about your pastor?

Let's brag on pastors today on this Truth Talk Live show. 1-866-348-7884. And right now, we have on the line Conrad. He is in Kentucky, and he and I became friends a few years ago. And he's someone that I pray for every Sunday because he's not a pastor, but he's a man who makes a difference in the lives of pastors.

Conrad, welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Thank you, Duane. Always good to hear your voice.

Well You when you sent this text message out, You don't want me to maybe haul in our I thought back about a little over two years ago. Yeah. our first meeting. And I had was there at Stalem Baptist Church to talk to them about.

some of the problems that they had were going through and some of the good stuff that the church I was attending was going through. But then when I got home I found out that We have worse problems than what Salem did. And we broke away. That was in November two years ago. It'll be two years next month.

We broke away and formed the new church Abundant Life. Baptist Church. And we went through some transition periods there Uh but At this point, we're setting in about three hundred fifteen members. And We have a gentleman by the name of Farrell Eisenberg. Who came out of retirement?

And as some of the great pastors Find when they retire, they got that itch to get back in that pulpit. All right. and by going in and doing interims or filling in here and filling in there, they can get a little Sale. Put on that itch and make the itch go away.

Well the itch stayed with Feral. And He not only became a six-month interim, but we requested that he could be our full per full-time pastor. And he came out of retirement to do that because He just felt a love for the people of the church. And it's because of him. that we are setting in a facility right now that a church had fallen on hard times Yeah.

Gave us. A sanctuary. Color. Thank you. Six acres of ground.

and all of it paid for. Through the leadership that Farrell showed us and walked us through. And by the grace of God. We're setting here with a with a building that's completely completely paid for. Um and uh a growing church that has had people move their letter from 24 different churches to come.

And here, Farrell, each Sunday morning. uh show us the path. of uh and he's done that by starting out with the book of Acts and he went all the way through the book of Acts. You give us guidance. Jesus showed the people to how to formulate a church together.

There you go. You can't beat Acts 2, 42, that whole passage right there, and you can't beat Acts for the teaching of how important it is to pray as a church and to be praying for your pastor. Yeah. Uh Conrad, I really appreciate your call today. Do what?

I really appreciate your call today. Thank you for calling in, and it is exciting to hear what's happening in the state of Kentucky in your area. Uh remind me the town you're in? Owensboro, Kentucky. Owensboro, Kentucky.

Yes. Many, many years ago. Yes, I did. I sure did. We had a great night there.

God really moved. Uh-huh.

Well, we have some others. It's always great to hear from you. Yes, sir. And you'll be getting you a text message this coming Sunday morning.

Now, I look forward to it. Have a blessed day. Blessings, sir. And we've got Buck Smith. From Ohio.

Bud Smith, welcome to Truth Talk Live. Today we're talking about showing appreciation for our pastors. Do I have you there? Yeah, I had it on mute there, Brother Carson. Where are you?

I'm good. How are you, sir? I can't wait to just commemorate and say congratulations and thank you for all your hard work, dear Pastor Carson.

So you're going to be the one that I celebrate. Because I sh I'm I Called into TruClub Lives many times, dear brother, and you've got. such good teaching with Dave the Word and so much things. that uh any congregation that Has you as their pastor, Pastor Carson? I would say they are a blessed group of people.

Well, you're very, very kind. Um We really right now have uh Stepped away from doing any pulpit as far as pastoring, but to give everything we got to date the word and trying to use date the word to help pastors as well as help people just continue to grow. And one of the things we wrote was how to pray for your pastor. I have that on my date the word app on my date the word website. And I appreciate your words of affirmation and appreciation.

It is a joy. Yes, sir. Oh, go ahead. I was just going to say it's a joy to be able to serve the Lord and serve his people. Amen.

And as we know from the, I believe it's the book of James. Dr. Carson that We must not be quick to want to be teachers, James 1. James 3.1, that's exactly right. Yes.

And I gotta say that pastors, not all of them, I don't know if they're called. And that's why I'm I called into today's show and I want to celebrate you, dear Pastor Carson. And I know your doctor, Carson, as well. Um, what happened? though, Dr.

Carson, when we find our pastor in grave sin. What should we do?

Well Galatians. Six. Will always be there for both those who are in the ministry and those who are, we would call in the laity. Wherever there's been a brother that has fallen, we need to look for a way for them to be restored.

Now, that always begins. with repentance. Um David had to be called out by Nathan, and sometimes the man of God. has to be called out. Um t f uh 1 Timothy 5, we'll talk about there needs to be two.

Uh, one person should not just make an accusation against a pastor, um, but if a pastor has messed up, Uh There still needs to be that component of working with them, and I've worked with numbers of them, and there was repentance. And then there was a period for restoration. And then we got to see them back into the ministry. And some, it depends on the level of sin. I think there's some things that would disqualify them from continuing as the pastor of a church.

but it never disqualifies them from continuing as a servant of the Lord. Wow, Dr. Carlson, that's powerful. What about Matthew 18?

Well, yes, that would be part of going to that person and speaking to them. But 1 Timothy 5 will take precedent there of how to deal with an elder.

Now, Bucksman, we've got to go to a break. If you can hang on, we'll come right back. This is Truth Talk Live. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live.

I'm Dwayne Carson and today with Date the Word, part of the Truth Talk Live show. We are talking about pastor appreciation day coming this Sunday. We want you to be prepared. We want you thinking about how you can let your pastor know that they are loved and that you're holding them up in highest esteem. We're using 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 12, and verse 13.

And again, I just love how the New American Standard says it: But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, who have charge over you in the Lord, and give instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. And so, as we're in this month of pastor appreciation, you're being challenged, if you will, this Sunday. Do something to let your pastor know how special he is. Hold them in highest esteem. And one of the ways we hold them in highest esteem is we pray for them.

Fervently, diligently. And I've got Buck Smith on the phone with me. And Buck Smith, we're talking about a question you've asked regarding what happens if a pastor messes up.

Well, I want to just quickly interject. One of the things I have for my prayer list for pastors is on Monday I pray that they will be protected. They need protection. The pastor is going to find themselves being tempted. They have a bullseye on them.

The devil would love to see them fall. And sometimes a pastor will get prideful and think they are above the temptation. They're not. One of the reasons I humbly say I've been able to stay walking a narrow path, following the Lord on paths of righteousness, is because I keep reminding myself over and over, I can fall. And I had a man say to me one time, bigger men than you and I have already fallen.

And 1 Corinthians 10, 12 says, take heed lest you fall. And so I believe in praying for pastors that they don't fall.

Sometimes they can fall into discouragement and want to give up. Monday morning, a lot of pastors want to throw in the towel. And I pray that the Lord will give them strength, encouragement, because again, preaching on Sunday, many times is still sowing seeds that you're not going to see a harvest for maybe six months, maybe six years. And you have to have that long view. Uh but back to your question.

And we have other callers I want to get to. And for you that have called in, thanks for hanging on. But, Bucksmith, one of the big things is. Love it on that pastor, even when they've messed up. Yeah.

Every pastor needs to have that accountability. And and and they've got to confess And repent of their sins. And Galatians chapter six, verse one. Uh We after repentance comes restoration. Yeah, currently I there is someone in mind, Doctor Carson, and they are not repentant.

Um but but But he has not been found out, if you will, yet either.

So that's why I wanted to look at Matthew 18. Yeah. And I would encourage you to look at 2 Timothy chapter 2. Verses 24 through 26, because even in that situation, you go into this.

Sometimes that's for the pastor to go to a person in the church, but to go to this pastor and say, look, You have got something that's got to be dealt with, and it's done in gentleness. but firmness, Um because if they but if they because if they don't repent, that sin's going to become like a trap and it's going to trap them. And that's why Paul wrote to Timothy to help people, to confront people so that they don't fall into the traps of the devil. Yeah. And what What's been uh made clear is there's been an egregious And So as a concerned congregant, Um I'm seeking God's guidance, obviously.

And this is one thing I love about Truth Talk Live. is that there are so many wise counselors And the Bible says right there in Proverbs that wisdom is found in the counsel of many.

So I gotta say to Stu Epperson and his dad. And all of you at Truth Talk and and Truth Talk. Uh live. Thank you for this opportunity. for we people out here.

Listening where we can call in and we can get you know answers to things that are really truly happening. Yes, sir. So I do want to put a shout-out. uh for for Stu Efferson and his father, who's with the board now. But yes, it looks like Matthew 18, I'll be looking at that.

Thank you for your other scriptures out of Timothy, the Galatians. I've got those down. speak with love firmness, gentleness, you said, but firmness. And Dr. Carson, I can't thank you enough.

Um and I'm praying that um Um first 1 Corinthians 5 says that if we deliver up to Satan, it's because we want his soul saved. That's right.

Paul went ahead and said, which means that's a very. Not good thing to have to do. That's right.

Is to deliver a fellow brother, let alone someone in leadership. Yeah. To Satan. But we must remember that Satan is God's servant. That only Satan can do as much as as Father God allows him to.

And thereby The discipline gets done through that, but yet we're hoping, like Paul said to the Corinthian church, that his soul might be saved. Absolutely. And guess what? That person in 1 Corinthians 5. Did get saved, and later on in 2 Corinthians 2, verses 5 to 11.

Paul had to write that same group of people saying. R to save him back, he just sends it. He has been totally restored. Do not treat him like you did before. You treat him as a brother who's been absolutely annihilated.

His sin nature has been annihilated. And now he wants back into the loving posture of being a brother. among that congregation. The Bible is full of so much great wisdom, guys. Yes, and I just wanted to put that out.

And Dr. Carson, Stu Efferson, Robbie Dillmore, all the hosts of Truth Talk, I can't say thank you enough. And you guys, You guys are bustman's pastors that I'm revering this Sunday.

Well, we certainly appreciate you and thank you for your call today. And I hope you have a wonderful weekend as you head into Pastor Appreciation Day. God bless you, Doctor Carson and Truth Talk and Truth Talk Network. Thanks. Bye-bye, guys.

We've got Lindley. It says from Florida, welcome to Truth Talk Live, Lindley. Hello, Gawain. How are you today? I'm good.

Tell us about your pastor and how you are excited to show appreciation for him.

Well I thought I was going to be talking about how I prayed for my pastor, but one of my favorite pastors.

Okay.

Well Somebody taught me back at college at Liberty University about Colossians 1, 9 through 11, and I know you those verses well. Because the pastor who taught me those are you. And one thing I love about my pasture from we were stationed in California. is how he breaks down the scripture. He chooses a book in the Bible and he goes verse by verse.

It explains it. He doesn't rush through it.

Sometimes it's just a couple horses.

Sometimes it's multiple verses, sometimes it's a whole chapter. But our pastor Chris Johnson in Lancaster, Florida, not Florida. Lancaster, California. We were there for four and a half years. was probably one of the best pastors.

But another pastor I appreciate you. Because whenever I was at Liberty, You made acronym. You know the Bible better than anyone I've ever met. Probably better than some of our Bible professors at Liberty. And I know you're going to be upset at me for saying that.

Yes, I am. Because you're humble? But You taught me how to follow up with God's word. Yes, my mom discipled me. Yes, I had different people that discipled me over the My life.

But You make the birth of some alive. I still remember As I sit here right now after teaching all day, the acronym SNOW, we need to be silent. I can't remember the rest right now because I'm being put on the spot. But you taught me the importance. of being still before the go before the Lord.

Mm-hmm. And you know me well. Is it hard for me to sit still? Yeah. They're one of the hardest to sit still.

Ants in the pants. And that's one thing. Being your student worker, I got to see the real Dwayne. You're the real deal, no matter if you're on the stage. Or if you're in the office or you're dealing with different things.

You and your wife? Or a team.

Well, thank you, Lindley. And I appreciate you all. And I appreciate your prayers and putting it into practice Colossians 1, 9 through 11. And you know, on the Date the Word app, we have how you can pray for a pastor. Praying on Monday that they'll have protection on Tuesday, that they'll be uh preparing God's word to be fed to God's people, preparation, and then on Wednesday we pray that they'll Have the provision they need and that wisdom.

It comes from God, as Buxman talked about, and the multitude of counselors.

Well, a pastor has to have wisdom from God to be able to help resolve issues. Board of advisors. And then on Thursday, I always pray for a pastor for their progression. We need to be growing. A pastor doesn't stop growing.

You got to grow to grow. And the progression of a pastor, Paul said to Timothy, let others see your progress. And then another prayer is on Friday that they'll see the possibilities out there. There's just something about. On Friday, I think your heart starts stirring.

What else can we do? And then on Saturday, pray their priorities are right with family, with fitness, but their own faith. And then Sunday, praying that they will have the power of God on their lives. And so, seven prayer requests, one for each day, that and this is found again, Date the Word app, Date the Word website, www.date the word.com. We talked about it this morning at Wednesday in the Word: how we can pray effectively, correctly for our pastors so that God can use them greatly.

And Lindley, we do appreciate you. Thank you for giving your calling in today, and thank you for your kind words.

Well, thank you for your ministry for now 26 years. It's hard to believe we've been family for twenty six years because You helped shape by Christian Walk and I appreciate you and your wife. Y'all are a team, just like you always taught us. Absolutely. You have to have this board of advisors.

You're on my board.

Well, well again, thank you, Lindley. We're going to a break. And we need your calls, 866-348-7884. Give us a call. I want to hear you brag about your pastor as we go.

Head to Pastor Appreciation Day, October the 12th. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live as we head into our last segment. Today we are talking about Pastor Appreciation Day coming up. This is Pastor Appreciation Month.

And I've been reading for us today from 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 12, different versions. And this, the New Living Translation, says, Dear brothers and sisters, Honor those who are your leaders in the Lord's work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. Show them great respect, and wholeheartedly love because of their work. I love that one.

I tell you the New American Standard said show appreciation. The new living here has called us to show wholehearted love. Love your pastor and love your pastor by praying for your pastor. Again, if you go to the Date the Word app, download it, you'll see a guide for praying for pastors and you'll see on our website as well, we lay out how to pray for your pastor. prayer request each day and with it are scriptures things that will help you better say Lord protect him in this area Lord as he's preparing help his mind to be sharp regarding this and again all the way Monday through Friday and when you Monday through Sunday so that when you show up on Sunday here's what is from what happens with me because when I'm coming into a church that I've been praying for this pastor all week I have high anticipation that God's going to work greatly through him the people in the pew are praying for the pastor in the pulpit and the power of God is released and so we need to be Praying fervently for a pastor.

I've got Kirk from Arizona. Kirk, welcome to Truth Talk Live today. Hi, Dad. Um Well, Kirk, you're out there in Arizona and you've had opportunity to have a new pastor. Talk to us about him.

Yeah, that's Dr. Noe Garcia and honestly is just another example of. The abundance of pastors that I've been able to have throughout my life because he was mentored by Chris Deitch, and Chris Deitch is a pastor in Arkansas who was mentored by you when you were at Liberty and then. Michael Miller, who was In Virginia now, who was also mentored by you. And then when I was living in New Jersey and going to church in Staten Island with John Welburn, who is mentored by you.

Um just Pastor after pastor. Of Plenty of opportunities every Sunday to hear amazing sermons. Dr. Noe's been going through the Sermon on the Mount these past couple of months Just hearing the words of Jesus and getting to Experience the greatest sermon ever given, given by a pastor who's. very clearly in love with and following exactly what the Lord has asked him to do.

Um John Welburn, on this past Sunday, he gave a little map that showed where the church was in New York City, and then where everybody who attends the church lives and works. Yeah. and shows that if you use your life as your ability to spread the gospel, the church is so very small compared to the wide range of people you could reach Especially in New York with 8 million people. Um And then like I can't appreciate pastures without appreciating you, Dad. I still have the sermon notes.

From the convocation that you gave, where you showed how to pray for Lou Wider using Colossians 1, 9 through 11. And then I have I think I listen to it at least once a week. You're come and see. Um because every person is In a stage where God's either asking them to come and see or asking them to sit and listen. or asking them to trust and obey and then I've had plenty of moments in my life where that forsake or follow.

And Um the nevertheless moments that we get from Luke 5 that your sermon is what I go to when I need help. That nevertheless message, I just had a big conversation with Robbie Dillmore on that. We all find ourselves facing, am I going to do what God wants me to do when it doesn't make sense? And for me, that one goes back to Dr. Jerry Falwell when he preached on Luke 5 and taking a bold step of faith when it doesn't make any sense, you take that step of faith.

Um We're still looking for callers. 1-866-348-7884. That's also 866-34TRUT. I'd love to hear about your pastor as we head toward pastor appreciation. Kirk, let me ask you this: What does it mean to you as a preacher's kid to know that your father is being prayed for by people sitting in the pew?

Well I've had that unique experience with as many pastors as I've been close to. seeing just how difficult Life gets sometimes and seeing that. like a pastor like you who When you have so many people who are looking up to you and who are needing you and just a the weight that it carries and the emotion that it brings out of you. Pastors Deal with people on the worst days of their life, and they have to take that on and being able to have more than just themselves And more than just their family lifting. That person up in prayer because.

Without that power, without that power of prayer. Yeah. Pastures would crumble. And I mean, you mentioned it just Minutes ago, about how greater men than you have fallen, and I think one of the easiest reasons to explain why so many people have fallen is just because. Ministry wears you down.

And when you hit That rock bottom It's hard to fight back. And so you need people praying that Monday, that protection. It's like. We just had the sermon on Sunday. We just.

gave it our all for Jesus. Monday's when the attack's first gonna come, so We need that protection. to keep us from our weakest moments.

Well, as we think about pastor appreciation and with my son calling in, I just want to remind all of our listeners today: it's not just the pastor that needs prayed for. Pray for his family, pray for his children. I'm blessed with four wonderful, godly children, all serving the Lord in different ways. And Uh, I did. I pray Colossians 1:9 through 11, and maybe some other time with the Truth Talk Live, we'll talk about how do you pray for family and friends, uh, for people in your fellowship.

Colossians 1:9 through 11. But I do want to give a reminder, and I'm just going to keep Kirk on the phone here, but you can still call in 866-348-7884. Again, On Monday You start your Monday prayer time One of those requests will be, Lord, I want to lift up my path. pastor and I want to pray for his protection. Tuesday comes, Lord, I want to pray for my pastor for his preparation as he's going to be getting into the word.

And I have several scriptures that we talk about how the pastor is going to be getting into the word because one of the things the pastor is trying to figure out is what do I need to be saying that will strengthen another person's faith? And it takes faith to know what to preach. And so you're praying for their preparation. On Wednesday, the word is provision. And I put that there because many times on Wednesdays when a pastor will be having counseling appointments and they need wisdom from above.

But they also, there's the provision as they go to business meetings and how does God meet the needs of this church? And part of that is meeting the needs of the pastor himself. Pastors have bills. They need to be taken care of. Don't muzzle the ox.

Then there's the prayer on Thursday for their progression. I just, again, I said this a little bit earlier. No pastor has ever gotten to the place where they can say, I don't need to grow anymore. Um You have to grow to grow. And as they're trying to help you grow, they need to be growing, fresh in the word, learning more about who God is.

Paul said to Timothy, let others see your progress.

So I pray for their progression. And then on Friday, I'm praying that they will see the possibilities. Many times a pastor will be taking Friday off, and they're driving around. I failed many times. I was inspired on Friday with, hey, what if we did this?

And then come Monday morning, my staff's like, oh no, what idea did he come up with this past Friday? But the possibilities are endless. I love what Kirk said there about John Welborne dreaming about how to reach New York City. Every person in that church is a light in some area in that dark city. And then praying on Saturday for them to keep their priorities straight.

And this is where it's important they have good family time. Take care of themselves with their physical fitness, but also their personal faith, prioritized, keeping the right priorities, and then praying on Sunday. Lord, release your power upon my pastor. If you'll take these southern prayer requests Monday through Sunday, I'm going to tell you, you're going to see a different pastor on Sunday when you come in. And I just challenge you: check this out, date the word.com or download the date the word app.

And then this Sunday, take a call. Go and get a card and Drop it off with your pastor. Put a gift card in it. Let your pastor know he is wholeheartedly loved. Thank you for listening today.
