Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide it. I can hold it. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host.
Well, hey, this is Michael Zwick, and today we are going to be talking about how do you communicate the important message of the gospel. We want your calls, 866-34TRUTH, 866-348-7884. But I'll start off, and I was going to tell you this. I remember when I was in college, and I was selling books door to door, and the guy came around and he recruited us. The one thing that he really sold me on was this.
He said, when you go out and you're able to sell books and communicate with people and you're able to talk to people and you're able to share Jesus with people, he said that you, not Jesus with people at that time, but you're able to share a communicate a message with people and you learn how to communicate. He told us this. He said this. He said, When I was a couple of months ago, he told us, he said that I looked at a study of what was the most important thing. That potential employers for college students were looking for.
Do you know what it was? The number one thing that they were looking for was: can you communicate a message? How well are your communication skills? Because you see, whatever we're doing, whether we're selling something, whether we're talking to people, whether we're trying to make friends, whether we're raising funds, whatever we're trying to do. We have to be able to communicate a message in a way where people will want to listen.
And here it is. Here it is, too. You can communicate a message and you can really learn how to sell something. You can communicate a message and you can win more friends and influence more people. You can communicate a message in a great way and become a politician and get everything that this world has to offer.
But especially it is important, especially it's important. When we're talking about the most important thing in our lives, and it is the gospel of Jesus Christ, how I can't think of anything that is more important than that. And so, what we have to learn is: yes, people always tell people: yes, you've got to share Jesus, you've got to share Jesus, you've got to share Jesus. But then a lot of people say well, I want to do it, but I don't know what to say to people.
So, what do we say? How do we do it? I've got a Fred Hagee who's on the phone right here out of Winston-Salem. Are you there, Fred? I am quick.
You know, and isn't it kind of funny? It's like there's so many people out there, Fred, who want to be able to share Jesus, want to be able to talk to Jesus, but there's people who don't know how to do it. They don't know what to say. Man, Fred, I wish there was some sort of a guide to help me teach me how to do this. What do you think, Fred?
Uh Mike, I think they need to get my book. Give 'em Jesus. The only soul winner's handbook you will ever need. That will walk them through step by step. Bam.
The development of their own personal witnessing skill set that they tailor to fit. Vam! their own personality type. It will walk them through that. Chapter 2, Appendix 1.
Absolutely. And so a lot of people want to know: well, how do I talk to people about Jesus or what do I do? But, Fred, I mean, it's not like you were out going door to door sharing Jesus with people when you became a Christian or when you were 18 or 22 years old. Can you tell us a little bit about your backstory, Fred? Um well Mike, I've been in church all my life.
But 95% of the body of Christ have never led one person to Jesus. And at 48, God was putting people in my life and I let God down and I let God down time after time after time. And all of a sudden, one day, I was dealing with so much guilt, I couldn't stand it anymore.
So I went and enrolled in Piedmont Bible College and studied. personal witnessing and evangelism up there. And Mike, to start with, I was so scared and nervous that I used to go hide. To meet my class requirements, I would go to the old marketplace my Western Salem back there in the parking lot facing the kudzu where the m where the smokers Went to smoke, and I felt comfortable. Look, I wouldn't meet anybody back there that I knew.
And Mike, quite honestly, I think I feared success more than Mm. Feared failure because I just was so uncomfortable.
Well, you said you were so uncomfortable. One of the things that I've thought about, Fred, is there were so many times when I wanted to talk to people about Jesus. And when I finally started to do it, I was like, man, that's it? That's it. It's not that bad.
You know, one of the things that I thought, Fred, is I thought that nobody, and I mean nobody, would want to hear about Jesus. I mean, because when you're looking on TV and you're seeing all these people who are talking against God, against the Lord, and they're kind of making fun of the good news of Jesus Christ, I said, well, I guess nobody wants to hear about that. But, Fred, you actually told me about a, what is it, a Barna study? Uh Mike, nothing could be any further from the truth. Yeah.
The fact that Yeah. wants to hear your message about the cross. That lost and dying world out there is looking for truth. They just don't know where to go find it. Uh A recent Varna study was done and And out of uh scientific group.
70% of the the people they polled said They would be willing to listen. Gospel Presentation by someone who is is passionate about their faith.
So they're looking for somebody that's packed. They're looking for truth. and they're looking for our message. They are. And so, you know, when I look in the Bible about this, it's not ambiguous about, hey, should we share our faith or not?
I don't know. Here it is. I've got Matthew chapter 28 and verse 18, and it says, And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.
And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. And Fred, I actually read your book, and when I started to kind of really look into some of this stuff that you were talking about, Fred, one of the things that I saw. was I saw that People actually want to hear this and they're excited about it. And we're going out and talking to people about Jesus, and I'm seeing people with tears in their eyes.
Fred, and these are real people, too. I mean, there was a lady this morning that you talked to, and I walked up to you while you were talking to her. Can you tell us a little bit about what happened this morning with that lady?
Well Mike, she had had a little bit of church background early. Earlier in her life, she'd served a couple years in prison and she'd gotten out and she was going through some stuff. She was she'd been homeless for a while, but she was not homeless now. And she Didn't have much money. She had some kids.
And I think she'd been engaged in some Uh probably Something uh illegal proprieties and Yeah. Stop that. That sin disqualified her salvation. She thought she had negated her. salvation by doing some things that quite honestly, she knew that she shouldn't be doing.
And she was totally confused. She was totally confused. And so what happened when you talked to her?
Well, I did the same thing with her. I do with everybody else. straight to the scriptures And showed her. uh that God loves her, that God's got a plan for. That uh Jesus died for, then God is seeking a relationship with her.
And that when you make that profession of faith in Jesus Christ, you become a faith. A part of God's forever family. And she liked that message, and that was something that she had had some familiar. familiar error. We Okay.
Yeah, I think it's a very good idea. But uh She was thrilled, and I took her confession of rededication. Praise God. And you're seeing, you're telling me, I know you've said in the past year or something, you've told me, Fred, you're actually seeing a hunger and you're seeing a new spirit in this country. You told me something this morning, Fred, about Southern California.
Is that right? There is a hunger and thirst for the word. of God in middle school and high schools out there in Southern California. Dramatic. And that's real close to where the Jesus Revolution, the Jesus movement started.
what, about fifty or sixty years ago now.
So I think that's a good idea. I believe when revival comes to America. that it's going to come through our youth. Our youth. And Fred, we're going to a break.
The name of the book, once again, is what? Give them Jesus. The only soul winners handbook you will ever need. By Fred Hagee, H-E-G-E. We've got a Michael up next out of Winston Salem.
We've got many more calls. 866-34Truth. We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. All right, we are back.
Back back again. 866-34TRUTH. 866-348-7884. How do you communicate the gospel? And I've got a few verses right here.
Psalm 105, verse 1. Oh, give thanks to the Lord. Call upon his name. Make his deeds known among all the people. Isaiah 12, 4.
And you will say in that day, give thanks to the Lord. Call upon his name. Make known his deeds among the peoples. Proclaim that his name is exalted. Matthew 4, 17, from that time, Jesus began to preach, saying, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
And I've got a Michael Griffin out of Winston-Salem. Are you there, Mike? I am, yes, sir. Brother, you're right there with Fred. You're in the trenches.
Let me ask you the question, brother. How do you communicate the gospel? Well Several years ago, Michael, the Lord laid it on my heart that uh You need to get out there and you need to tell people about Jesus. Tell people about. How and what he's done for you.
And so I I've God and I kind of made a bond that I would at least share my Testimony and share the love of Jesus with at least ten people. Every week. And so I might, it might be a homeless person, it might be a FedEx. Amazon, UPS driver. It may be someone pumping gas.
Might, but when the Lord lays it on my heart to go and talk with that person, then I am miserable, Mike, until I do it.
So I just go out and share the gospel. I'm a Gideon, so we have the little testaments that we share, like Fred was talking about, and we try to get them within two minutes. Oh, to the back cover. uh reading scriptures about how much God loves them. about how much God can do for them, what Jesus did for them on the cross.
And more importantly, Might than anything, they can have salvation and eternal life with Jesus if they. Believe and have faith in what Jesus has done for them on the cross.
Well, you know, one of the things that I hear in your voice, Michael, is I hear that this thing is really important to you. And I'm reminded of the story of Pendale. This guy was an atheist, okay? And he went out and he did his magic show or whatever. And there was a guy in the audience.
who was actually who was not religious at all. Or the guy in the audience who was actually a born-again Christian. And at the end of this show, this guy gave Pendillette a book, a Bible with some verses in it, and he tried to share the gospel with him. And he said, If you need anything, here's some numbers that you can call. We want to help you out, buddy.
And we think that atheists or agnostics or people who are not Christians think that they don't want to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. But that's not what Pendillette said, Mike. He said, this is what he said. He said, what that guy did, he said, was a beautiful thing. And he said, and I've always said this, he said, I have no respect for Christians who do not proselytize.
He said, if you really believe that eternal life is possible, or you really believe that I could be dying and going to hell, and you don't want to tell me about it because it's socially awkward, he said, how much do you have to hate someone? And so when we get, when I, for me, I think about them going to heaven and I think about the potential of them going to hell. The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish, Mike. It says, but that all come to repentance. Jesus loves us so much that he died on the cross and all we have to do is put our faith in him.
And to me, man, and I hate to say this, but it seems kind of selfish not to want to tell people. I agree 100%, Mike. I agree 100%. I feel like we would let. God damn, if we didn't go out and tell people about the path to heaven.
And the good news is, brother, is that when you're out there doing it, you're seeing some good things. I remember a few months ago, I did an interview with you at my house, and you told me of one of your favorite stories. Do you remember that? Uh I've probably told a lot of stories. Refresh my memory.
There was a lady that you met. Do you remember? You went up to her? Connie. Yes.
Connie? Yes. And uh she She did not want to hear anything about. Jesus or anything. Because I presented her.
with a New Testament, a small PWT. She thought that was a jailhouse Bible, and she didn't want any part of it. And so Mike, I was at the point where I don't know that I can speak to this lady anymore because she doesn't want to hear what I have to say. uh fast forward about a a month. And I passed her again, Mike.
Yeah. And the Lord made it on my heart. Go talk to her and give her some.
Something else. And I gave her a life book, the book of John. She read She started She started And really, Mike, she started to know, hey, This is something that I need to do. This is something that I don't have. And Jesus is the answer to all my problems.
And she gave her heart to Jesus. And uh and now She is just an amazing lady. I hadn't seen her in a while. But the times that I saw her, Her life has changed, and she was a homeless lady, like I said, Mike, and she was going in the woods. Sharing the good news of the gospel with people intents in the woods.
Well, you know, we have a prayer meeting on Monday mornings, Mike. And one of the things that we say is this. We say, God, we pray that you multiply. We pray for multiplication. And see, the truth is, is when we go out and we share the good news of Jesus Christ, and if somebody gets saved, we may never see them again.
But I do believe that someday when we get to heaven, we'll see that God used at least some of these people to tell other people about Jesus. You know, and I'm reminded of a story of Jesus and Gabriel were having a, it's a fictional story. Jesus and Gabriel were having a conversation years ago and about 2,000 years ago. And Gabriel said to Jesus, he said, what is your plan so that the whole world can come to know that you're the Lord and that they can go to heaven and that they don't have to go to hell? And Jesus said, what I did, I died on the cross.
And he said, I've shared this with a few, well, I've got 12 disciples. And the plan is, is that they're going to tell more people and that they're going to tell more people and that they're going to tell more people. And eventually the whole world will know that I am Jesus Christ as Lord and that I'm the only way to get to heaven. And Gabriel was a little skeptical. And he said he knew how people were, that they didn't always want to do what they were supposed to do.
And so Gabriel said to Jesus, he said, Well, Jesus, what if those 12 disciples decide not to tell other people? What if 100 years later, those people decide not to tell anybody? What if 2,000 years later, people stop telling people? And Jesus said this: He said, There is no other plan, there is no other way. And so, Michael, if we're going to win the world for Jesus Christ, it's going to be through regular people just like you and me.
And, brother, I want to thank you for the call, and I want to thank you for answering the call and sharing the good news about Jesus Christ. We've got a Daniel on the phone right up next, and then we've got a Shane. But, anyways, I've got Daniel here, and Daniel, you are in the trenches yourself. You're actually speaking to college students over in Elon. Is that right?
Yes, sir, that is correct. And so, great to be on your program. Yes, sir. Thank you for coming on. Tell me about it, and you've actually got a ministry.
What's the name of your ministry? The name of the ministry is Cross Exchange. It's one word, C-R-O-S-S, the letter X, and then the word change, CrossExchange. cross-exchange. And so, I mean, what kind of got you into this?
Yes, it actually is out of my own testimony and the passion of my own heart. It was wonderful to hear the other people that was on the line and them sharing about how they came to share their faith as well. For me, even though I grew up in the church, went to Christian school, I didn't truly understand and really receive the truth of God and apply it into my own life until I was 20. I'm 31 now. And when I was 20, the Lord radically came and revealed himself to me.
And in so doing, I took seriously the words of Christ.
Now, let me stop you there. You said he revealed himself to you. How did he do that? Yes. He uh revealing himself in the sense of Showing me my necessity for salvation in Him.
I, though I heard the message of the gospel, I always. Saw myself as unworthy to even receive the redemption through Christ. I always saw it as something that other people could receive, but though I heard the message, I didn't completely understand it. And through reading the word and people. Like others have shared, evangelizing to me and sharing the gospel with me is when I really, the Lord revealed himself through his word and through others evangelizing.
And Daniel, we're going to a break right now. If you can hold the line for just a second, I wanted you to share something quickly. And then we've got a Shane and then a Rick on the phone: 866-34TRUTH, 866-348-7884. We'll be right back. How do you communicate the gospel?
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Well, I tell you what, we have a popular show today because we got so many callers calling in. But how do you communicate the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ? And Daniel, real quick, I wanted to ask you, when you go up to people, you go door to door, how do you open the conversation or what do you say?
Well, when we go door to door, we really ask the person what is their understanding of the gospel? What is their understanding of the truth of who Christ is? A lot of people have a perception of the gospel, but many times they don't really fully understand what it actually is in truth. And then through that, we help them to see that Christ is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets as he himself has proclaimed. Amen, brother.
And I want to thank you for the call. I believe we've got a Shane on the phone right now out of Meben, North Carolina. That's where I live. Me Bane, Shane, if they're not from around there, right? Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah, man.
So, yeah, and Shane, we actually go to the same church, just like Jesus Ministries. Shane actually goes out and does a, he does the baseball field, preaches at the baseball field with me. And we've got a little bit of time for you, brother. We've got so many people calling in, and I'm grateful for that. But quickly, how do you share the gospel?
How do you share the good news of Jesus Christ, Shane?
Well For me, what I was called. and the way the way that that works best For me, and each person, like Fred said earlier, have to develop their own style and what they're doing. But You know I think that the best way is just to pray and have faith that the Holy Spirit's going to give you the words to speak and try not to do it by yourself. Be led by the Holy Spirit. Be led by the good word and just let that lead you and.
have faith and be bold in the fact that you know that the person's heart's been prepared. That God's in control. and that this meeting between you and this person is not an accident. This is ordained by God. You were meant to meet this person.
This was an appointed time for you to be able to share the gold the good news with them. Um oh. How do It's in Thessalonians, 1 Thessalonians 2. I'm trying to pull it up by memory. And it it tells us about how we're to treat Our our fellow man We're treat them as a woman, as a mother.
And that it says, let me see if I can pull up. It says that as apostles of Christ, you certainly had a right to make some demands, but instead, we're like children among you. And we're like a mother feeding and caring for her own children. We loved you so much. That we shared with you not only God's good news, but our own lives too.
And I think what that's To me, and when I was reading it, is that God wants you to give your testimony. God, when you're giving your testimony, your your testimony to somebody, the best testimony you can give is yours. Because it's unique to you, and you can tell that person how you came to know Christ and what God is doing for you in your life. And I think that's very powerful and I think that's one of the best ways to do it. And that's kind of what I do.
Well, that's amazing, Shane, because you know, my friend Jeff Hoover, you know Jeff. But one of the things that Jeff said, he said, people can argue with you about your logic. He said, but they can't argue with you about your testimony. If Jesus has changed your life, Then you're not getting down in the weeds with them. You're not arguing this doctrine and all this other stuff.
You can just say, man, I was lost. I was messed up. And Jesus saved me out of that. And Jesus changed my life. And so, Shane, I appreciate it.
I know the Lord is doing some big things in your life. And I'm looking forward to preaching this Sunday with you over at the baseball fields. Yeah, look for To it too, Mike. You have a safe trip back home when you get done today. All right, appreciate it.
We'll talk to you soon. I've got a Nanette. Nanette out of Burlington, North Carolina, actually Gibsonville, but she's a good friend of mine. And Nanette, we actually go every Monday morning and we pray over at the Burlington City Park in Burlington. And you've been doing that for years, right?
Yeah, and you actually I'm sorry, go ahead. No, I just said yes, absolutely. Yeah, and you actually wrote a book. Um, this is one of my favorite books, and I don't know if it's necessarily on evangelism, it may be a little bit, but it's how to deeper your faith in Jesus Christ. What's the name of the book?
Touching the Glory by Nanette Noel. Touching the Glory by Nanette Noel. And what inspired you to write that book, Nanette?
Well I think that's a good question. I feel like there's a lot of Christians in the world. That They really want a deeper relationship with God, but they have such a hard time figuring out how to do that because you can't see him. And you can't sit in his lap or hold his hand. And so How do I get closer to God?
And this book is a step-by-step Simple way to just walk right into the presence of God and go deeper in your relationship with Him. than you've ever been before. Yeah, and I think I've read it twice, and I'm actually giving it out to my friends. But you're writing another book as well. Was that right?
I am. The first book has activities at the end of every chapter, and it tells you what to do to specifically. Just grow in your relationship with the Lord and go deeper with Him. It also has coloring pages for people that love to color. But the second book is, I'm working on it.
You're working on that right now. And we always love to support Christian businesses in the area and all of that. And so if you need to buy or sell a home and you're in the Burlington area, make sure to call Nanette Noel. You can look her up online and she does that. But Nanette, I have actually seen you go out and you're not afraid to share your faith at all.
How do you communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ? You know, Mike, I think the bottom line and the foundation of all of it is a deep desire to understand that every single person you meet is going to eventually stay. Before God, and they're going to hear one of two sentences, and both of them are found in Matthew. And one is, Depart from me, you workers of iniquity. I never knew you.
Or Enter into the joy of the Lord. He's going to say one of those two things to every single person. And every single person will live eternally. Forever. in that situation they find themselves.
And I was just looking at the news a minute ago and the that beautiful young woman that died on that train in North Carolina. There's no way in the world she realized when she walked on that train that that was going to be her last train ride. But none of us know the day or the hour that we're going to leave this earth. But when we do, we will come face to face with God. And Once we understand that, then every time you're in the grocery store or you're at the elementary school or at the park or wherever you happen to find yourself, every single person that you see is going to spend eternity somewhere.
And for me, it is so gripping. I can't bear the thought of someone spending eternity without Jesus. Yeah, absolutely. I you know and you said that when you were younger that the preachers used to talk about hell a lot and nowadays they don't really talk about it that much. Yeah, it's true.
And whether we talk about it or whether we don't doesn't change the fact. The Bible says that broad is the way to destruction. And many will go there. And a narrow is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it. And that is a tragedy.
I mean, even just to think about that, if people were were more keenly aware of the fact that hell is real, I think, number one, they'd want to be saved, and number two, they would definitely want to tell their neighbors and their friends and their family about Jesus. They do. And when I talk to you and when I see you, I've told you that you're such a good communicator. One of the things that I've seen that you do is that you not only talk to people and all of that, but you also, you're a good listener. And I think sometimes people want to maybe just kind of, they're so nervous and they want to talk to people.
Hey, I need to share Jesus or whatever, and they don't know how to do it. How would you recommend to go about it? Do you just kind of go up calmly or what kind of settles you down? Because it can be a little nerve-wracking. It sure can.
And I think the first thing I would do is first thing in the morning when you wake up, ask the Lord, lead me to someone today who is really hungry and who wants to hear the gospel. Lead me to someone that needs you today. And he will just throw the door right open in front of you and make it easy for you. He's done that for me many, many times before. But you know, it's actually not as hard as it seems.
I can't tell you the number of times where I've been sitting with someone and they're they may be having an issue, they may be crying, they may be in distress of some sort, and I'll just look at them and I'll say, has there ever been a time in your life when you have truly surrendered your life to Jesus? And I can't even tell you how many times people say no, but I really want to. Will you help me? I mean, over and over and over people say that to me. And that's what I would say is like low hanging fruit.
It's people who are ready. And if you ask the Lord to bring them to you and then just ask them that simple question, has there ever been a time when you have fully surrendered your life to Jesus. Many times they'll say, no, I haven't and I really want to. Will you help me? And it seems to work.
And one of the things that Jesus did is he said, you know. You, he, you, if you believe me, I want he wanted people to believe him for what he was saying. He said, But if you don't believe me for the words that I say, he said, believe me that for the works that I do. And so, when I first met you back in 2015, oh my gosh, it's been 10 years, you would have these meetings at your house and you would be praying for people and Jesus would just be healing people. And you actually have kind of a personal testimony behind that as well.
I think you had gotten sick or something happened to you, and it kind of led you to do that. Is that right? Well, yes, but what you're saying actually made me think of something. My mother just turned 90. And She goes down to the mall in Burlington and just walks up to total strangers and says, is there anything I can pray for you about?
And you know that is a great way to open up the door to preach the gospel. Anywhere you are to a waitress, anywhere you can say, hey, is there anything I can pray for you about? And she does that all the time, and it opens the door for the gospel as well. But yes, I agree that, you know, scripturally, Jesus went about doing good and healing all who are oppressed with the devil. That's what the Bible says.
And so, you know. if you don't have to take three steps and you'll find somebody who's sick. and you can offer to pray for them.
Well Oddly enough Jesus shows up and heals them many times, and it's just been miraculous to watch what he does. But when you open up that door and begin to pray for somebody who's sick, that then opens up their heart to hear of the gospel. And the gospel is repentance. and the loving Savior who's standing there ready to save them. And just leading them through that.
Many times I'm talking to young women in the jail here in Alamance County, and I talk to them about. Are you ready? To let Jesus take the wheel? Are you ready to surrender your life? You've been driving it yourself, and look where we are.
Are you ready to surrender now and obey him? And that's really what salvation is: just to turn your life over to him completely and give him control. Yeah, if there's somebody listening right now who's listening to what you're saying and they say, hey, maybe I want to know about this Jesus, would you mind praying for them real quick, Nanette? I would love to. Listen, if you have been driving your own life and you find yourself in the ditch left and right, side to side, and things are just not going well and maybe you're just in distress, And you don't have the money to pay your bills, you don't have the health to keep you going, you need help.
You can cry out to him. He hears you and he loves you.
So Jesus, we just come before you right now on behalf of every single person that's listening right now. And I just want you to talk to the Lord and say, Jesus, I need you. I've tried to do it on my own. and it's too hard and I can't and it's not working. And today, I truly, truly want to surrender my life to you.
I'm done driving. I'm giving you the wheel. I will follow you with all of my life and with all of my heart. I ask you, Lord, to forgive my sins. Forgive me, Lord.
And save me, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Well, I felt that. And so you want to pick up the book.
I've read it twice. It's Nanette. Noel, and it's called Touching the Glory. And like I said, if you're in the Burlington area and you want to buy or sell a home, use a Christian. It's Nanette.
Nanette, I want to thank you for the call. We've got a Rick Pearson up next, and we will be right back on Truth Talk Live: 866-34TRUTH, 866-348-7884. Truth Talk Live You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. All right, we are back. I've got a Rick P.
Pearson. Out of Canada. And Rick, you've been patiently waiting, man. It's been a busy show. How long have you been on hold for?
Mike, I've been on for 20 minutes. It's been a great show. Man, I tell you what, I love what you're doing. Rick is the host of Prophecy USA. America is Mystery Babylon in the Bible.
And I know you've heard a lot so far, Rick, but what are your thoughts, man? How do you communicate the gospel so that people will listen? Mike, there are three things I think a person needs to do. In order to communicate the gospel. Number one, You have to walk the walk.
Before you talk the talk. If you're not living it, Don't try giving it. Most people want to see a sermon. Most people want to see a sermon before they hear one.
So live a life, number one, let Christ dominate every area of your life. Be honest, be moral, be kind, be forgiving, be thankful, be joyful. And then the second thing. that you must do is every Christian is fed by leadership.
So you need to look at the leadership that is support that is feeding you and make sure you're financially giving to that leadership. to that ministry. And then finally, Once you get into that pattern, as God, to lead you. I had an interview with a man by the name of Jonathan Kahn, and Jonathan Kahn dresses in black all the time, and I happen to have on a black. Suit, and they took a picture of us.
And one of my friends contacted me and he said, You look like the men in black. You know that movie, Men in Black? Yeah. And I laughed and I said, Well, I would prefer you say that I'm a secret agent of the Most High God. Amen.
And we are all Secret agents. of the Most High God. But you have to make sure that God is leading you. Don't try to do things in the flesh. Ask God to lead you.
The person you just had on absolutely nailed it. How she said that she would pray, and God would give her. Just openings. And people are hurting all around us. But there's some people whose hearts are hard.
And you're wasting your time. Because they're not ready, but God will lead you. to that person. Who desperately wants prayer, desperately It is in a situation. And so you become.
A secret agent of the Most High God. And you know, Mike, I fly an airplane and I was at an FBO one day. That's like a gas station for airplanes. Mm-hmm. And I was sitting there waiting for a friend to pick me up.
And this guy came in with his jet. And he was arrogant, he was pushy, And he he got he got at the counter and he just Started ringing this little 20-year-old girl out, saying, This was the worst FBO I've ever been at. The coffee's terrible. He just went at her. And I'm sitting there listening to this, and I'm watching this little girl.
Literally shaking. And then he leaves her there. And the Holy Ghost said, go over there and minister to her. And so I got up. and I could feel the anointing come on me.
A compassion for her. And I said, young lady, I want you to know something. I've been I just watched and heard what that guy said. And you know what? He is a total jerk.
You are a good employee. I've been watching you, and you handled that perfectly with him. And I just want you to know: if I were your boss, I'd be very proud of you. You are doing a great job. That little girl.
That oppression left her immediately. She needed A word of encouragement. A word of knowledge, a word that God loves you, a word that you're. God is for you. This guy totally drained her of every ounce of self-esteem in her.
And you know, I have had that happen in my life when I was younger, and I could feel that in my heart. I knew. what how she was hurting. And we've all hurt. We've all been at a road where we're at the end of our road and we needed someone.
to speak the word to us.
So Number one. Walk the walk. Don't just talk the talk. Number two. Support those who are feeding you.
And then, number three, ask God to lead you. Become a secret agent. of the Most High God. And God I promise you listeners, God will use you. And you'll stand back some days.
The words just float out of my mouth when I ministered to that young lady. Amen, brother. Amen. And Rick, we got a couple more calls, but I did want to give you a plug. You've got a book coming out that is absolutely phenomenal.
What is the name of the book, and when is it coming out? It's the fifth book in five years I've written. It's called America's Josiah Moment. An end time reprieve. of things to come.
We are in the last of the last days and it's time for the body of Christ to become the bride. And one of the ways you become a bride is let God use you.
So um It's all about America in the Bible and where we're at right now on God's prophetic time clock. And, Mike, you know. that what I preach is that the United States of America Plays a pivotal role in Bible prophecy and inside of her. is that bride of Christ that's going to get raptured. All right, brother.
Well, I'm looking forward to the book coming out, and I appreciate being on your show. Thanks for coming on, Rick. Rick Pearson, and I've got a Mike out of Dayton, Ohio. Are you there, Mike? Yes, I'm here.
How do you call? You're welcome. How do you communicate the gospel, brother?
Well, I communicate the gospel with my life and my. And the my the meter. But I wanted to make a point where Um Yeah, I put one list of all the people I know that are not lost. are lost. And the people and the other list is the people I know that are saved.
And then I care about. And um I pray for those people that are lost. And I and I pray for the people that are saved. that they continue to um I'm hearing an echo, sorry. And to get closer to God.
And I pray for the lost. And then that I'm hoping that the people on this side Good. transfer it over to the other side. And I've had a few people do that. And it's amazing.
And then I want to pray for those people that continue to get over to the other side. That uh you know I pray for them more. Yeah. I'm sorry, I had to echo Mike. No, that's okay.
So what you do is you pray for people who are lost and you pray that they get over to the other side. You pray that they get saved. I'm reminded of George Mueller, who lived in the 1800s, and he had a list of people that he was praying for, Mike. And he said, over his life, all but three of these people got saved. And towards the end of his life, I think...
Right before he died, two of those people got saved. And right after he died, at his funeral, and he had been praying for these people for 20, 30, 40 years at his funeral, the last guy got saved. And so the Bible says that if we continue in prayer, if we are that persistent widow, we don't give up on these people and we keep praying that God can save them. And Mike, I want to thank you for the call. We've got a Leslie out of Texas, Corpus Christi.
Is that right, Leslie? Yes, sir. How do you? This is my good friend, right? This is my buddy right here.
She is a prayer warrior, and she loves to, she just has a, just has a glow about her. She has a happiness and she loves to help lost people. She loves to tell people about Jesus. She prays for people. But, Leslie, how do you communicate the gospel, sister?
I think it's what a lot of other people were saying, and it's more in your walk, like how you carry yourself. and how you treat people.
Okay, what do you mean exactly? I don't know, like when you find people and you talk to them and See that there's something different about you. I remember being lost in In the Worlds, and some of the Christian people I saw, they just. Didn't have anything that I wanted. They didn't have a glow about them.
They didn't have a joy. They didn't have any of this stuff.
So, whatever it was that they had, I was like, I don't want that.
So I try to use my walk with the Lord of Being joyful, being that thing in the darkness that like people are like, oh my goodness, you have something different. What is it that you have that I don't? And that's what draws them into the Lord, in my opinion. Yeah, you know, the Bible says that if anybody asks you for a reason for the hope that you have within you, always be willing to give an answer. But I think for a lot of people, they're talking about answering questions that nobody's asking.
And so there should be people who see us and say, I want what you have. And you were talking about the way we live our lives. There was a preacher one Sunday, and he had finished preaching, and he met with his friend that he met every week after church. And when he met with this friend, he said, You'll never believe this, but one of the people in my congregation stole my bicycle because it was inside of the church and it had to be one of them. And so his friend said, This is what you do.
He said, The following Sunday, you tell them the Ten Commandments. He said, and you tell them that thou shalt not steal. And I believe somebody's going to bring you your bike back. The friend said, This is great. I'm going to go back and do that.
So he went back and he preached and he came back the next Sunday and he told his friend, I got my bike back. And his friend said, oh, this is what you did. He said, you told them thou. Shall not steal. And he said, Nope.
He said, I went through the 10 commandments and he said, I went through the one where it says, Thou shalt not commit adultery. And he said, And I remembered where I left my bike.
So the truth is, is that if people are going to see us, people are going to want Jesus, it's going to be because they see something different in us, and we can't be living the same way as the world is. Is that what I hear you saying? Amen. Amen, yes. Sir, and so you go out and you do a personal ministry yourself, but you travel all over the country, Leslie.
Anyways, we're closing out the day. I want to thank you guys for the call. This Saturday, I'll be on, If Not For God with Mike Zwick on the Truth Network, and we thank you, thank you, share Jesus with somebody. Jesus loves you and he wants to be your friend forever. And if you know him, share him with others.
God bless you.
