A Card That Changes Everything

Who in their right mind passes out cards? at funerals. At graduations, you're thinking, what are you doing, networking? And a Solemn occasion? No, these aren't cards like that, my friends.

That's true. Yeah. Yeah. And it's pretty amazing. We can all have.

There's two soils that are talked about that fall away right away, and the other ones are for choked Christians. And this is the one that really hits home. They're choked by what?

It's the lure of wealth, the desire of this life, desires of this life, and the worries of this life. And the next verse says, But for those that hear and accept God's word, they produce a harvest of 30, 60, or 100 fold.

So, what we're learning is that if we are desiring anything else more than reaching the loss, then we're in. the thorns and no one wants to go up to heaven to hear that we're in the thorns. We want to go up to heaven and hear that we had a well done, good and faithful servant report card. And we can't do that if we're not faithful and evangelizing. There's no way any of us can hear that if we're not being faithful to the great commission to go there for.

It's going to find its way out your digestive system and your waste system, and God's built the body that way. And the way God's built your spiritual body. Is as you exercise, as you eat.

The pure milk of the word. Right. 1 Peter chapter 2. You recognize and realize that the Lord is precious. 1 Peter chapter 2, verse 4, 5 and 6 and 7.

And then you realize that you're a royal priesthood. You're a holy nation. You are a chosen generation. You're a peculiar people. And Then, with all of that, it all just kind of buoys up in your soul and comes out because the next thing Peter says to these exiles, these people are persecuted by people like Nero, who's burning Christians as lamps to light up his chariot races at night in Rome.

He's putting pitch all over Christians' bodies, putting them on crosses and burning them to light his little game. And these are the Christians Peter's writing to. He's telling them you're a holy priesthood. He's telling them to crave God's word. He's telling them you're exiles, you're aliens, you're pilgrims.

But he says this: this is the crescendo that it comes into, Jesse. He says that you may proclaim. His Rich grace. His marvelous works, who saved you out of darkness. Into his marvelous light.

So how are you proclaiming? The goodness of the Lord. In the land of the living.

Some believers, you wonder, are they even saved? Because if you're not saved, I mean, Charles Spurgeon from his pulpit said. If someone is not sharing their faith, there's a lot of questions there as to whether they're even saved themselves. I can't tell someone. to find something That I've never found.

How am I going to call someone lost if it looks like I'm lost? And I'm just out there. And I think that's where we come in. Because if you think about it, the main excuses are: I don't know what to say. I don't know what questions might be asked of me.

I don't have enough time. And that's why these cards are so important. All you do is say, Hey, I may never see you again.

And people are like, Well, we want to have a relationship with someone first. I'm like, Well, relationships can start through that. But also, I want to talk about the stranger aspect. Jesus never met a stranger. In fact, what would his ministry look like if he didn't talk to strangers?

It wouldn't exist. God has called us all to talk to strangers. And when Jesus is asked again by a disciple, I believe that was a disciple asking about the second greatest commandment to love your neighbor. He said, They said, Who is your neighbor? And he gave the Good Samaritan who is helping a stranger.

We're all called to help strangers. Back to the physical and spiritual stomach that you were referring to. If we put in bad food in our stomach, we have a Bad, bad situation happen. But if you put in good food, you're healthy, you have the nourishment, you have the vitamins. When you're sharing your faith, you guys get spiritual vitamins in your stomach.

You get uplifted beyond belief as God pats you on the back for being obedient. It's not just for the lost person, it literally is for us, Stu.
