Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. We're talking today about the greatest questions in the Bible. Those divine questions that read you more than you read them. So, we would love for you to call and tell us which question has read you.
Which you think is the greatest question in the Bible. You call it and tell us. 866-348-7884.
866-348-7884. We got Dr. Date the Word Carson here with us today. How fun.
How fun is that? And so, you know, when you were thinking about these questions, you know, Jesus asked some, but you can start right at the very beginning, wherever you want to go. And you end up in an amazing place where, like, oh my goodness. Yeah, the questions we find in the Bible, as you ask the question for today, they impact our lives. I mean, right off the bat, we come to Genesis and all of a sudden there's a question. And the question is not being asked by God. It's not being asked by Adam or Eve.
It's being asked by the devil as he says, has God said? And what we know is there can be questions that will bring doubt into our lives that will cause us to not believe that God is who he says he is and does what he says he does. So we want to be careful with our questions, but we also know that Jesus, the master teacher, all the master teacher, knew how to ask questions to bring about teachable moments. And if someone's going to be a great teacher, they got to know how to ask questions. And so to our listeners, what are those questions that you've read in the Bible that when you read it, it grabbed your attention? The one that stands out the most to me is when the Roman soldier is going to say, what must I do to be saved? And that's a question, Robbie, that every person needs to ask and answer.
They need to get the answer to understand that the only way to be saved is to ask the Lord Jesus to save them. Oh, I love it. I love it.
And I can't help it. I can't help but think that what Stu said, his question was, who in the Bible actually said, I'm trying to remember the question now, is there anything too hard for the Lord? That was it. And when he asked me that question today. Who said that? If you don't have it, I would love for you to just call in and guess. Who do you think said is anything too hard for the Lord?
Who was the one that actually asked that question in the Bible? We would love for you to call 866-348-7884. Like, oh, I see all sorts of things are going on today as far as these microphones and headphones. One thing is, if I was on the right mic, I would hear myself rather than it coming through that mic. And so I bet I was low. We had a little technical difficulties.
And now that I can actually hear myself through my own microphone, pretty exciting. And so I would love for you to call in. You tell us what it may be. You know what? We have been thinking about it. We've come across lots of these questions.
Dr. Date, the word Carson and myself that we think are very, very intriguing. Like, how amazing. And again, you know, one of those that if you just go back to Genesis, that really grabs me is where are you? Right. God asked that question. He knew. But he asked so that Adam and Eve could come out from their hiding. But what a question.
God comes into the garden after Adam and Eve have disobeyed. And he wants to know, where are you? Great question. Where are you right now with the Lord? Where are you in your sinfulness? Right.
So that, like we talked about at the beginning, like some questions you read and some questions read you. What do you think? Who was it that said, right? Is anything too hard for the Lord?
866-348-7884. You know, it's already June, you know, and today is 6-2. And so, you know, since I've got Dr. Date, the word Carson here, you know, just out of curiosity, what is what is our verse for 6-2? Well, 2 Chronicles 6-2 says that today, today is the acceptable time.
Today is the day of salvation. It's not tomorrow. It's definitely not next week. It's definitely not next month. It's not next year.
It's not five years from now. Salvation. If your heart is being convicted that you're not saved, the Holy Spirit's working on you. This is the day. Don't put it off. The devil loves to lie. Don't do today what you can put off till tomorrow.
That's a lie. Which would lead you up to, you know, what must I do to be saved is a great question to ask on 6-2. So we got Jody is in Winston-Salem. Jody, you're on Truth Talk Live.
What do you got for us? Yeah, I heard you mentioning where you're at with the Lord. Is that correct? Yes.
Right. Yeah, it just touched me in this moment, man. I just had to reach out. I was just trying to get some clarity. Like, you know, when you when you said that, where are you?
What are you saying? Like, where are we at with the Lord as far as, you know, a daily thing or how we feeling? Like, I just needed to hear a connection with that. Well, yeah, a little bit more of a follow up on that would be again. Am I as close to the Lord as I have always been or have I gotten away from him?
Am I on a progression of growth? Do I find myself more in love with him today than I did yesterday? So those kind of evaluation questions house the relationship with the Lord and sometimes sin gets in and it begins to bring a blockage to the fellowship. It doesn't it never if you're saying it doesn't break the salvation of being the adopted son, but the fellowship could be broken. So the asking that question, where are you with the Lord today? Is there unconfessed sin? Is there disobedience to something God's called you to do? Or is there a vibrancy of I'm close to the Lord, my fellowship is sweet. I had a wonderful time walking with the Lord this morning.
That kind of idea. OK, gotcha. Well, I try to practice a day. I try to practice a daily fellowship, you know, with praying and, you know, just on my way to work, you know, listening to an excerpt or whatnot.
Like I dedicate that time and also Sundays at church. But when you had said that, it just touched my spirit. And I just needed to hear that that that vibrancy, as you said. That's wonderful. I appreciate that. Oh, we appreciate your call. God bless you. And thank you for calling in. It's pretty cool to hear that.
I've been listening to the truth since about twenty fifteen. Wow. Ninety seven. Yeah.
Yeah. Ninety seven seven is definitely a preset on my radio. And when I turn that station on, I really truly believe that God has a word for me or something that I need to hear, you know, to touch my spirit. And this is one of those days.
And I thank you all for having a number available. And you know what's interesting about that, Jody? I have to say is that I think that's so remarkable, right? That often it's not me that goes to God. It's him that comes to me. And like you said, he touched my spirit. And I you know, it's always very humbling, but there's no doubt that those touches come from him.
And like, oh, my goodness. There's no doubt in the divine. There's no doubt in the divine. That's what I try to meditating daily.
And like I said, you never know. That's one of those days the phone number came out on while I was listening to the truth. There you go.
I got to go to a break. Thank you, Joe. Welcome back to Truth Talk live today.
How fun. We're talking about the greatest questions in the Bible, not necessarily, you know, that they could be ranked in some particular order. But, you know, in any given season or at any given moment, those questions, you know, you may read them, but they may read you.
They may they reach out and touch you, just like our caller we just had. It was right, Jody. And it was so cool. And I completely know that, you know, there are so many questions like that. Jesus asked them. But interestingly, sometimes God asked them and sometimes Pilot asked them. And sometimes, well, how about you?
What do you think? 866-348-7884. 866. I hate that we came up on that break and I had to cut Jody short there.
He was amazing. And I love that insight. But the other thing we asked before the break, which I would love for you to call in, and I'm really kind of shocked that nobody tried.
Who said who was it that said is anything too hard for the Lord? I want some people to call in. You know that answer. I totally stumped me, by the way. I was out in left field when I had Dr. Carson asked me that because Stu told him, but he was kind of waiting for me. And I was like, you know, I thought, well, was that one of the kings? Thank you for playing.
866-348-7884. You want to come up with that one? Who said is anything too hard for the Lord?
Or better or better, really. What questions, like, man, that really grabbed you at some season in your life that made such an impact. And I love the second question that we talked about that Pilate asked. Pilate wanted to know as he is dealing with Jesus, he looks at the crowd and he says, what then shall I do with Jesus who is called the Christ?
What do I do with him? The answer that day from the crowd was to crucify him. And so this is one of those great evangelistic messages that sometimes an evangelist will bring or during a revival. Hey, what are you going to do with Jesus?
And I remember hearing that question years ago for myself. What am I going to do with Jesus? Just ignore him?
Well, at any given moment, just like Jody was talking about, that could touch you right at the second. What then am I going to do with Jesus? We got Scott is in Dayton, Ohio. I love it. Scott, you are on Truth Talk Live.
Yeah, I was calling about the question that you asked. Who said there's anything impossible with the Lord? There you go. Who said it? God. You're awesome, Scott.
Way better than me, buddy, because I totally was off the charts. I believe that. I believe you said in the Book of Jeremiah. Well, it is in Jeremiah. But the first time God says this.
It's to Abraham. OK. Where Sarah has heard that she's going to have a child and she starts laughing. And God looks at Abraham and says, why is Sarah laughing?
And she's embarrassed. But then God says, is there anything too hard for the Lord? Genesis 18, 14.
But yeah, you're right. Jeremiah 32, 17. It's also stated there. Is there anything?
What's the setup there? Do you remember, Scott? I don't remember that. Would you remember in Jeremiah why God said that? No. I love it. I love it that you know that it's in Jeremiah. But don't you don't you think like that's a fabulous question? Absolutely. It took me a minute. I know this.
Well, I'm really excited that you would. And I'm in fact, I'm even more shocked now and more and more a little dismayed at my own lack of knowledge here that it's in the Bible twice. You know, that God asked that question twice. And so Dr. Carson is trying to get the story for us.
What you got, Doc? Well, Jeremiah is praying. He's praying. And he's trying to understand how God's going to be working as he's telling people you're going to go into captivity. Right, right.
But you're also going to come back. And God has told him to buy land, which doesn't make sense. Right. Oh, that's no, that's huge.
Yeah, it has to do with the potter's field. And so then he says, behold, you have made heaven and earth, your great power and outstretched arms. There is nothing too hard for you. So he's pulling that idea again back from the Genesis eight Genesis of 18, 14. And then God will tell in. In Luke one, there's nothing impossible with the Lord. Luke one thirty seven, there's nothing impossible with the Lord. Because a man by the name of Zacharias has had an encounter with an angel who tells him you're going to have a child. And Zacharias goes, how? Those were the famous last words. Yeah.
There's nothing impossible, God. And now you're not going to talk like that famous last words. It beats the heck out of famous last looks.
You know, Mrs. Morton sometimes referred to as Mrs. Lot. Scott, that is so awesome, man. I am.
How about you? Is there a question that came to your mind that really just like, oh, man, this is a great question other than that one? No, sir. I was just driving down the street. Well, I am so glad that you would know that was in Jeremiah because you brought up a whole nother thing.
Like, man, there's three three go rounds with this idea. Scott. I love the word of God is such a such a gift. And as it's so rich, I just love it. I read the word every day.
Me too. And it's because and I love what have you ever heard that the biographer for Eugene Peterson said he had a conversational intimacy with the Bible. And, you know, they're they're in lies, man. Like when you get that, it's it's it's it's literally, you know, hello, Genesis three, my old friend.
I've come to talk to you again. And it is it's a big part of our relationship with God. I love it. Absolutely.
It changed my life. Yeah. God bless you. Thank you, Scott. You have a great afternoon. You too. I appreciate you guys. Same here. Thanks. Bye bye. How about you?
Eight, six, six, three, four, eight, seven, eight, eight, four. What is some of the great, great questions in the Bible? You know, Robert, you open this segment up with a question.
What do you think? You know, that was one of Jesus's great questions. He would ask people, what do you think? Several times he's going to engage his audience with what do you think?
I was looking them up today and he would say, what do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs and taxes from the sons or from strangers? That's Matthew 17, 25. Matthew 18, 21. What do you think of a man has 100 sheep and one of them goes astray? Does he not leave the 99 and go to the mountain to seek the one that is straying? Matthew 20, 128.
But what do you think? A man had two sons and he came to the first and said, son, go and work in my vineyard. And that man that he would then tell the parable how the son said, yes, I'll go. But he didn't.
But the one who said, I'm not going to go did. But he was engaging people with what do you think? I love that. And the same idea of, you know, reason with me.
Right. And that idea of actually here, let's really try to process this information and, you know, get an idea of what track your mind is on. Because there's going to come a big question from Jesus. Who do men say that I am? But then he asked the question, who do you say I am? And that's a question.
Who do you say I am? Unfortunately, we lose some of you in certain markets, but most of you will will get to stay for the next part. If not, you can go listen to the podcast on Truth Network dot com. We'll be right back. 866-34-TRUTH. Welcome back to Truth Talk. Live today's question.
And we're talking today about the greatest questions in the Bible and those divine questions that read you more perhaps than you read them. We would love to hear from you. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in.
866-348-7884. We got Earl is in Greensboro, North Carolina. Earl, you're on Truth Talk Live. Yes, sir.
Enjoy your show. And one of my favorite verses of question in the Bible is a question Jesus asked, and Peter answered it with a question. When when he's when he said the words, are you going to leave, too? And Peter said, shall we go? And to me, that's just so powerful.
John six. Yes, sir. That is. And so I'm guessing like me, you've had a chance to answer that. Yes, sir.
I thought, well, you know, our options are certainly limited. I love it. I love it. Earl, that's a great one. Absolutely great.
And it's not on Dr. Carson's list. Oh, it is. Oh, you had it.
Yes. Oh, John six, 67 and 68. Do you also want to go away? And then Peter says, Lord, to whom shall we go?
Very kind. And that's a great sermon to preach. You know, everybody needs to come to that place.
Who are you going to go to? And the only one that ever went to the cross and died for us, for us, his love. So great for us. And that's what Peter was saying. You know, I think it's so awesome that Earl pointed out something I never had thought about. That Peter really did answer that question with a question.
He did. And what's the significance of that to you, Earl? Well, to me, it's just like you brought out, you know, I don't have any choice to whom else could I go to?
Right. You know, you hold the words of eternal life and you're the basis for my salvation. And that's how I just, that's how I take that. Oh, that's beautiful. That is wonderful. Earl, God bless you, man. I appreciate you calling in so much today. You have a great one. Thank you. God bless.
Bye bye. I got Greg is in High Point, North Carolina. Greg, you're on Truth Talk Live. Yes. Hello, Robbie.
Yeah. How are you doing today? I am excited that you called in. And Dr. Carson, he kind of pointed this out before he said, I know who that is. So what are you thinking, Greg?
Well, I've got two or three questions, and I don't know if one or two have already been answered previously on your program. But clearly, one of the, I think, most timely questions, if not the greatest, certainly the most timely, is what the apostles, as Jesus on Olivette, when they said, Tell us, Lord, when these things shall be, and that was referencing his prophecy that every stone would be cast down on the temple. And then they added, And what shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the age, or the end of this present social order? So I think that's very timely.
Yeah. And that's really, really cool, Greg. And it's similar to the last question they ask him right before he ascended was when, when are you going to reestablish the kingdom to Israel? I always find that fascinating, like, these are famous last words right before Jesus is going to go up, like, when? Yeah, that's right. When are we going to get there, Daddy? That's beautiful.
And we ask this question quite often ourselves as we look at a world that is in so much turmoil, the threats of war, war going on, Lord, when are you going to return? Right. Yes.
I love it. Yes. And you know, and you know, what's so wonderful about Jesus is that he actually answered the question. In other words, he gave very specific details, not as to year, month, and date. Right. Explicitly so that was not revealed. But he did give us the signs that lead up to his return.
And when you look at, and of course, I have to let your listeners know that I'm a little bit prejudiced about this area of teaching because that's what I've been studying for 10 years now. Right, right. We know. So I don't want to come off of this thing spontaneous, but in Matthew 24, in verses, actually beginning with verse 4, going all the way through verse 31, he very methodically and meticulously and specifically described the events of the tribulation period, even dividing it into the midpoint where he mentions in verse 15, the abomination of desolation. And so he was very explicit and John in the Revelation tracks this information. And so his climactic statement is in verses 30 and 32, when the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven and in great glory. So he's referring to his return to earth and glory.
Now that also answers your other caller's question. That's when the kingdom begins, but that's when this present world system, as we know it, satanically ruled under God's sovereignty, will come to an end. So he answered the question very specifically, and sometimes we get a little bit too much excited about trying to apply those things to current events. And there is a lead up to this period, as we know, which we call the tribulation.
That's true. But these events that he described most specifically and literally applied to the tribulation period, and he was very clear and very explicit in what would lead up to his return to earth. The reason he did not mention the rapture, as I know Dr. Carson knows, I'm sure you do too, Robbie, is that that was unrevealed at that time.
So he didn't address that up through this point of his talk. That's beautiful, isn't it? I appreciate your insight so much, Greg. And you're called a day. You keep up the great work out there, my friend. We're going to have you back on soon. All right. God bless. See you later. All right. Bye-bye. Wonderful.
How about you? You got a question. We'd love to hear from you. 866-348-7884, 866-348-7884. What do you think is the greatest question in the Bible?
What question is read to you? We got Mike is in Dayton, Ohio. Mike, you're on Truth Talk Live. Great to have you. Well, thank you. Well, thank you for taking my call. The one that comes to my mind is Jesus says, Who do you think I am?
I wish I could look on my phone and have all the notes that I have on that, but I can't, because I can't be on hold at the same time. So, Dr. Carson, I know you have them all because you're the doctor word of all of them. But, you know, yeah. Who do you think I am? And he says, I am, I think. I'm trying to do this off of memory, but I don't know the scriptures.
I don't know any of it right off the top of my head. Are you thinking about the are you thinking about the one back where Moses said to God as I go to back to the people? Who am I supposed to tell them has sent me? And I did.
I wrote that. That was one of the questions I wrote down from Exodus that Moses want to know who am I supposed to tell them is said to me. And God then says, I am that I am. But are you're talking about Jesus actually asking the disciples? Yeah.
Isn't that the same as Jesus doing the same? Well, it's right. I think it's really cool. You're making a connection. Yes. Who do you say I am?
Yeah. And with the whole, you know, Luke, Luke, chapter nine, verse 20. But who do you say that I am? And Peter answers. And this is why he's at the very top. Peter says you are the Christ of God.
And it was like one of those bingo moments. You got it right, because in Matthew 16, you have a little bit more on that where Jesus then will say, because of what you've said, Peter, I'm going to build my church. And this is what is going to be built on, that I am the Christ. Yeah. And, you know, that's the trust we need to have in Christ is that he is and that he is I am. And, you know, that's, you know, that's profound. Right.
It absolutely is that, you know, there you go. Unfortunately, and I think it even goes back to our first caller, Jody, that we're going through our day and we forget I am like, oh, yeah, wait a minute. But sometimes and I love it because he says the Spirit touched him with that question. And, you know, different people, you know, again, hopefully you're surrounded by godly people or you've got godly people in your life to ask you hard questions. You know, everyone's followed this that say something.
They like wake you up to the fact that, like, man. And so you may have heard me tell this story, Mike, that I was fishing up there in Ohio. I was steelhead fishing with my good friend Terry. And we were eating lunch after I'd caught several of these fish and I said, you know, I'm really disappointed in myself because I really wanted to catch one of these steelhead trout while in the presence of God. Like, I would be having this experience of catching this fish with him and reeling it in and just like really, really sense that I was with him during that time. You know, prayer without ceasing, so to speak, but while you're actually catching one of these fish. I said, but honestly, Terry, these fish hit with such veracity that when they hit, my mind just goes on to catching this fish and I forget all about Jesus and I don't want that to happen.
And so he was listening to me and we were both out on the river about an hour later. And I said, and oh, by the way, I really want to catch one on a fly rod because I've been catching them on a spinning rod, but I've been throwing flies at them to see what I could do, right? Because these are great big, you know, 20-pound fish.
I mean, they were huge steelhead trout. And so I throw this fly out there and all of a sudden, man, this thing hits it like they do. And Terry was standing there and he saw the fish hit it. And when he did, he said, thank you, Jesus, for this.
And of course, because I had this friend to get me in the moment, because I know I never would have, you know. But he immediately prayed, got my attention, and then this fish. Like if you've ever seen the movie A River Runs Through It, and I hope you have, that this trout goes down the river, right?
Well, that's exactly what this thing did. And I had about six-pound test line on a 20-pound fish, whatever it was. And oh, my gosh, he took all my line clear into the backing, if you know what I'm talking about, on a fly rod. And I fought that fish for probably 35 minutes. I still can't believe I caught it. I mean, I got it actually. You did a lot of praying.
I did. Well, I was the whole way. And it was like, golly, man, Lord, how awesome is this that I caught this fish? But not only did I catch the fish, Mike, I got to catch it with Jesus.
Can I stay on the line? No, no, I'm just kidding you. Yeah, by all means, Mike, you stay. We'll be right back with a whole lot more. But we need you. We need your question. 866-348-7884, 86634 Truth. We'll be right back. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live.
How fun today. We're talking about great questions in the Bible. Questions that not only you read, but sometimes they read you. And ones that just jump out at you and really maybe in a season your life grabbed your attention, helped you grow close to the Lord, something like that, some great testimony.
We would love to hear what you think. 866-348-7884, 86634 Truth. And when we left our hero, Mike, in Dayton, Ohio, he was right on the banks of a river of steelhead fishing. And I was. But anyway, what you got for us, Mike? Well, it reminded me of, remember when I was telling you a story about the surfing incident? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, Saturday. Yeah, and then it was so great, and the surfing was so great. And you cut me off a little bit, but that's okay. But now I can tell you. I said to God, I said, God, why didn't you make, can you make the waves a little bit bigger and a little bit nicer? And God said to me, I made this day for you.
Wow. And I know, and I had chills in my heart, my saying, and God told me, Mike, this day is for you. This glossy, beautiful waves and all the fun you're having. I did this for you. And I said, oh, my gosh, thank you, Lord. And I raised my hands in the ocean, and I'll never forget it. You know what I mean? I said, thank you, God, for this day.
And you know what? After that day, I do that today every morning. I raise my hands, and I say, thank you, God, for this day. Thank you.
Thank you for taking care of me and blessing me and loving on me. Well, I'm glad I cut you off on Saturday, because this is awesome, Mike, it's perfect for today. Yeah, you know, this kind of highlighted the idea of like, man, how cool. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Can you feel the, you feel that? Oh, I feel it.
And I'm with you. Yeah. And he did. Yeah. And he did.
And often, days may not go the way I want them to go at all. Right? Right. Right. That's what he does. Puts me right where he wants me to be, which is back on my knees, I hope, and saying, okay.
Right. And he creates for us those divine appointments that we look at as interruptions. And yet, he's not interrupting. He's getting us to a place where he can now take his vessel and use us for his glory. But we got to have that mindset.
This is the day the Lord has made. Yeah, that first caller, he was talking about it. I mean, he said, you know, he's worried, you know. I can't remember what he said.
Hopefully, you guys can. But I felt like I needed a call today, you know. And that's the divine thing of God, you know.
Right. The number was out there. 866-348-78.
Just saying, if you're feeling led right now, like, man, 866-348-7884. And Mike, you're right. You know, hopefully, most of the shows that we do, in fact, I know, if not all of the shows that we do, we pray very hard that the Lord will bring amazing, because the testimonies out there are just so powerful, and other people's understanding of the Scriptures and other people's experience of the Lord through the Scriptures is totally invaluable. And I love the question you went to, Mike, on the idea when Jesus asked, who do you say that I am? And that is a question all of our listeners have got to answer.
And I go back to C.S. Lewis, as he looks at that question, as you examine the life of Jesus, you're either going to say he's a liar. He said he's the son of God.
Well, you're a liar. Or he's a lunatic. And even his mom and his brothers at one point thought maybe he's lost his mind. Or he is Lord. And you've got to make a decision on that. I've thought through the years that some people may just put Jesus in that legend category, like a Hercules. And so he's some well, it's a great name out there. He did some great things, but he's not a real person.
But when it comes down to it, you've got to decide. And Jesus was a real person, left heaven, came to this earth so that he could die for us, be raised again and offer us the gift of eternal life. What an incredible savior. Who is Jesus to you?
That's that's the question. And there's a question that I try to ask at our boot camps, always on the first night. You know, Jesus ask, you know, the guy, he's, you know, he's going into the pool, you know, it says there, you know, he's dying to get into the pool and they keep not helping him get in the pool, whatever. And Jesus asked him what seems to be the craziest question ever. What would you have me do for you? But honestly, we don't have because we don't ask and we go to these amazing conferences or amazing things that God puts in our life and we don't go into it saying, you know, answering that question. God was asking, what would you have me do for you?
Even in this day that that Mike's talking about tonight, what would you have me do for you? No, and when Jesus dealt with that man, he is causing him to come to that place of saying, I want the help. And we've got a lot of people who don't get the help from Jesus because they don't want to leave the mess they're in.
You've got to get honest with yourself and say, OK, I want him to change my life and he'll do it. One of the questions that that I was read by, I love the way you phrased the question today. What shall a young man do to cleanse his way? Psalms 119 nine. And for someone who had a lot of ugliness on him, filth, sin, unrighteousness, how can I get clean?
And then you get Psalms 119 eleven, your word, have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against you? Well, it all comes down to we've got to get in the word and the words components to the word to Jesus. He cleanses us. And then that sanctification is going to take place. How does he sanctify us? By his truth. And then John 17, 17, sanctify them with your truth.
How can a young man cleanse his way? I love that. And it's the first it's the first verse in the bet section, which is like it's almost like a decoder ring of understanding, you know, Hebrew. But more importantly, the symbolism that's there with the idea of the letter bet is a house. And you see, when you cleanse your way, whether you realize it or not, you're actually cleansing generational shenanigans.
Oh, that's good, right? And so, as every man should be thinking, how can I cleanse my way? Because as I cleanse my way, I cleanse generations, interestingly, not just forward, the generations following you. But interestingly, as God shines his face upon you, you know, the blessing would be, he can shine his face on the generations behind you based and the generations forward from you, based on his ability to look at you, which the first obvious situation is, in order to be clean, what do you got to do? And be saved, right? Jesus's blood.
I mean, it takes it takes that to not just obviously, and I shouldn't say just the ability to be cleansed by the word, you know, is something that actually probably takes place hopefully several times a day. And the devil wants to tell us that we're not worthy. And a lot of times, you know, we're not good enough. We've done this wrong. We've done that wrong.
And God wants us cleanses from all that and he wants us to seek him and obey him and conquer those things. And not everyone, you there with me? I'm sorry. Go ahead. Oh, yeah, we're still here.
I was just gonna ask because you just have about a minute left. And now Doc's been loaded for bear this whole time. So let's just boil it all down to you and say, Doc, what is the greatest question? Now that you've studied and thought about it for a few days in your mind, which is number one? Well, if we don't get this one right, what must I do to be saved? Because you've got to be saved. And if you don't understand, they got to be saved.
There's your first mistake. And so when that Roman soldier turned and looked at Paul and Silas and said, What must I do to be saved? Every listener, you've got to get that question. And then you got to get the answer. Because if you die without Jesus, man is appointed once to die, and then comes the judgment without Jesus, you will die and go to help.
You got to tell them what the answer is, Doc. Jesus Christ. Oh, I know, but what did Paul and Silas say? Oh, call upon the, well, now you've put me on the spot, um, that you believe, I always want to make sure I'm right Acts 16 31, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved. And so that's the answer. That's the answer that they gave him, right, which is powerful, and therein lies the faith that obviously will please God. Like, do you really believe this? But then Romans would go on to tell you, you need to confess with your mouth, right, that Jesus is the Christ, that is the Son of God.
Believe in your heart that he raised him from the dead, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. And so today, listener, if you don't know the Lord, take on Acts 16 30, go to Acts 16 31, and call on the Lord and be saved. That's beautiful.
That's a question that'll read you. There are so many, and we've had so much fun with this. And I am so grateful for every single person that called in today.
So much fun. Mike is always, I mean, thinking about your now, like, God's saying, I made this day for you. I made this day for you. I made this Monday night for you, listeners, and each and every one. Thank you, Mike. Thank you, Dr. Carson. Hey, we got another Truth Talk Live coming up tomorrow.
