Believers are positionally sanctified and holy before God, but experiential sanctification requires the believer's self-determined separation unto God through the Holy Spirit, making them more authentic and like Christ. This process is often resisted in modern churches, leading to spiritual stagnation, but it is essential for a deeper relationship with Christ and the release of the Holy Spirit's power.
