That's us, that's right. I love this American ride. Todd Starnes. Oh yeah.
So I have a question, and it's a rather delicate, indelicate question. Welcome, everybody, to the Todd Stardes Radio Program. Happy to have you with us today. Wow, what a speech last night from President Trump. And we're going to be taking your calls on this as well.
I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on President Trump's remarks and the response to those remarks. But I just have a question about the Democrats. i'm this is a head scratcher for me because there are some look there are some things in politics that are absolutes right so you you know if something happens if something occurs you know you know regardless of if there's an r behind your name or a d behind your name you know that you have to do x y or z so so i'm just curious i i'm puzzled by by the democrats here you got a 13-year-old cancer survivor who wants to be a cop. And it seems to me that when the President of the United States deputizes the kid as a Secret Service agent on national television, there really is only one response, which is to stand and smile and cheer. And I don't understand why the Democrats did what they did last night.
Is it because they hate children with brain cancer, or is it because he's a black kid? I'm just, I'm curious here. I can't figure out why they were so upset about this. Folks, Donald Trump broke the Democrat party. If you want to know what the headline of last night was, Donald Trump has broken the Democrat party.
These people are a miserable lot. I mean, it looks like it's a motley crew folks as they were scanning out there and you had the Pepto-Bismol caucus, and then you had the Ukraine caucus. And then, again, what has been the argument coming from the Democrat Party? We're the party of TikTok. We're the party of Instagram and Snapchat.
We're the young, hip, cool, with it party. That's what they've been trying to tell us, right? We're the party of the future. And yet the party of the future was represented by Congressman Al Green on national television last night, a 77-year-old, angry old man jumping up waving his cane in the air screaming get off my lawn i i just i just don't get it what what a terrific speech the president gave and i am telling you here's how bad it is it's so bad that even the folks on msdnc are calling for massive firings with within the Democrat Party. They don't know what to do because they've exposed themselves for who they really are.
Now, I want to say something, and I'm very serious about this. I believe that there is a spiritual component to all of this. Last night, I had Dr. Ben Carson on my Newsmax show, and Dr. Carson told me he had a conversation with President Trump before the address.
And Dr. Carson said that it was God Almighty. Because let me back up for a second. Ben Carson said, Mr. President, I don't know how you do it all.
I mean, you're up from sunup to sundown. You don't sleep. How do you do all of this? And President Trump told Dr. Ben Carson, and he relayed this story last time on Newsmax show.
He said, it's God. God gives me the energy. And you heard the president mention this last night in his address that that it's god who is behind all of this and and i believe it i believe it beyond a shadow of a doubt and the american people do too uh there's some amazing polling data and i want to we we got a lot of ground to cover today and we're going to be taking your calls um we're going to be talking to some great guests but i want you to hear from me uh first of all so we've got some polling data here 69 of the american people love president trump's address last night 69 percent it was all it was a long speech but it was i don't know about you but sometimes you know when you're out on the campaign trail sometimes those those events kind of dragged a little bit last night did not drag last night i was really enthralled with president trump's message and i hung on to every single word that has rarely happened in politics and i've covered politics for many, many years. 69% of the American people love Trump's address. That's CNN.
CBS News, 76% said it was an incredible speech. 76%, an astonishing number. And out of that, 68%, when they analyzed the president's speech, they said it was hopeful, it was presidential, it was inspiring it was unifying and it was entertaining and it was it was every one of those things to every single person listening except for the democrats and i've had a chance to think about this and when i'm when i watch these addresses many of you follow me on my x feed and you know i'm doing real-time analysis and sometimes i say stuff i really shouldn't tweet but last night I meant every single word of it and then some. There's something wrong with the Democrats, and I believe in – wow, this is going to take a dark turn for a moment, so you've got to bear with me for just a moment. I believe that there are demonic forces at work in this world.
I truly do. And I believe, based on what I saw last night, that the Democrat Party, they are possessed. That party is possessed with great evil. And every time, and maybe this was just me, and I am not joking here, I'm not kidding around, but every time the camera panned over to the Democrats, there was a chill. It was just something very unsettling about that bunch of people, just something very, very off.
When you can't stand up for a 13-year-old little boy, a cancer survivor, and cheer that little boy, you're going to sit on your blessed assurance and you're going to roll your eyes and mock a 13-year-old cancer survivor?
Something's not right there. when you are being when you're recognizing the the mother and the the sister of lake and riley a beautiful young girl a georgia nursing student who was cut down in the prime of her life by an illegal alien and you're telling me that you can't stand up and honor that woman and the pain and the suffering that family's been through something's not right there something's not right it's not that they have lost the country the democrats have lost their soul and they have embraced met they have embraced much evil in their political ideology and i think as the reverend jeremiah wright once said the chickens are coming home to roost i think the democrats are done donald j trump has broken that party but it's really a remarkable thing to watch him we've got a lot of audio we're gonna we're gonna play um but the american people are on donald trump's side and donald trump is on the side of the american people the cnn polling data was really fascinating i want you to hear this even the people watching knew that what Al Green, the congressman from Texas, was doing was just really bonkers crazy. Cut seven. During the course of the event, which is wanting to get reaction on Congressman Al Green's antics and being ejected, 80% of speech watchers said that the Democratic congressman's interrupting of Trump's speech was inappropriate. Only 20% of speech watchers thought what Green did was appropriate, Aaron.
Yeah, and also over on the CBS, and so we're going to be bouncing back and forth between those two polling, that polling data, CBS News, 76% said that the House Speaker, Mike Johnson, who was a very patient man, but he was clearly not having it last night, and he told the guy, look, you're going to sit down, you're going to shut up. Sit down, shut your mouth, or we're going to throw your ass out of here, and I mean that in the Old Testament biblical sense of the term and he didn't do it so that's what they did honestly they should have dragged him out of there and anybody else but i think it shocked the democrats because they're playing all along by the way you had one uh who was it jasmine crockett wow the congressman ghetto at out of texas and she was out there talking about wanting to throw eggs at donald trump I mean, she's this stuff is crazy. Let me tell you something. That Jasmine Crockett, she's portraying herself now as the new voice of the Democrat Party. And I say, welcome to the role, because this woman is going to cost the Democrat Party seats in the midterm elections.
It's just some of the stuff she was saying last night. By the way, she was.
Well, I was going to. Oh, here we go. Cut number 11. wait wait did we dylan dylan turn your microphone on hello you had to come in early just to bleep out most of this woman's language yeah most of the things she says cannot be aired did we bleep out the part about uh saying mother fornicator yes we believe we did all right very good all right cut number 11 thank you dylan that while we may not have the mum the numbers just yet that doesn't mean that we don't have fight left in our bodies and so i am going to fight him every step of the way until we get what we deserve because it was my ancestors that built this okay i'm done now i'm done my ancestor built this mother fornicator i'm done with my kool-aid she was drinking kool-aid like it looked like cherry or do we know berry some sort of a berry flavored kool-aid walk what there was something in that kool-aid i'm just telling you because the longer the night when she was talking about uh what hoes do we oh yeah putin's hoe uh cut number 23 if you could tell donald trump anything tonight what would you tell him i would tell him the girl is fine and uh stop being putin's hoe stop look this is language clearly something was in that kool-aid that mixed berry drink that she was uh sipping through the night uh we've got the images up on our socials she these people are slap crazy and i love it i love it and you know why because the american people they're looking at this with great disgust and by the way so are so are a lot of other people on the left they understand and by the way these are not necessarily these people are not radical leftists they are the liberals and they see people like jasmine crockett and al green and they realize they got a big big problem on their hands cut number two look at look at what's happening the democrats are not even acknowledging the cabinet right now i just don't remember that being at least they would get up and shake their hands just a visual here they're not engaging that this is not a pathway for it to part of uh bipartisanship no it's not as a matter of fact when the cabinet came in that cnn when the cabinet came in nobody applauded none of the democrats stood they didn't acknowledge the cabinet it's a bad look and even look it's it's not how you win it's what you do when you lose right that's what they always taught us as kids growing up you you still have to do things that you may not want to do when you lose a basketball game what do you do you get yourself up off your blessed assurance you go out there on the court and you shake hands with the opponents that's what you do that's what you're supposed to do in a civilized society all right we got to take a break i we're going to get to your calls 901-260-5926 our telephone number that's 901-260-5926. well yeah the golden age of america is here ladies and gentlemen and it really was a glorious speech last night and and i hope that you are feeling the excitement and the enthusiasm and the hopefulness uh that's out there uh coming up we're going to be talking to our good friend liz peak from fox news also josh jones our good buddy um and a great republican media strategist he was on our newsmax show last night gave us a great preview and congressman marlon stutzman from indiana making his debut on the show let's go to our phone lines as promised we'll start the day in memphis tennessee my hometown radio station kwam the german shepherd what's going on what's on your mind german shepherd hey mr todd i'm glad you're doing well well it was heartbreaking when i saw the face of lake and riley's mom and uh and lake and riley's uh sister you know you could see the pain and the sorrow and i can identify with it because i've also seen that day where the one who gives takes away and you don't get to choose your last words to your loved one when they when god takes them away and i just want to uh i got a little understanding on why the democrats couldn't show honor to such a uh mourning family as it reminds me of pharaoh when uh moses was told to go tell pharaoh to let my people go and and the lord said that he's going to harden pharaoh's heart and he's not going to let him do it but that word for harden doesn't mean that god placed anything in him it just means that uh god was going to ring out of pharaoh's heart what's in there and that's what we're seeing with the Democrat Party. The Lord is allowing, through Donald Trump, to wring out what's in the hearts of these Democrats, and it just causes them to go deeper.
Well, I think there could be something to that. I wonder, though, German Shepherd, if maybe the reason why they could not stand or applaud is that their failed policies that they advocated for have led to death, have led to murder, have led to devastation in this country. Absolutely. The blood's on their hands, and they can't come to that realization and repent of it. They got this mindset of gaining power no matter what, and it's like a tractor in a farm field.
Once you're stuck in that rut, it's hard to get that tractor out of that rut. You're in a trajectory that's hard to change, and they ain't. been able to do it yet no they german shepherd you're you're absolutely right um they have not and and i don't see them learning their their lessons and when you we've got so much audio to play reaction coming from the the rank and file democrats they haven't learned anything and and i'm okay with that i am absolutely okay with that they haven't learned a single thing german shepherd Thank you for that call. Let's go to Hendersonville, North Carolina, WHKP. Judy, what's on your mind?
I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your show. I put aside every single day from 12 to 3 to just listen to you.
Well, thank you. But I wanted to say what a great job Trump did last night and what a lousy job the Democrats provided for us. but you know i thought of that is they couldn't do anything right they couldn't stand for anything they don't stand for anything they didn't stand up for any issue he brought up last night judy i see what you did there well done you yeah no i think you're right that they didn't stand for a single thing and they couldn't because like you know when you step back and think about it all of the problems we're facing with in our country right now are the result of their policies their votes so that's how i believe too they they uh who would want to vote for that kind of thinking on their part that they can't even be pleased with the our citizens like that boy that got the you know got to be an fbi agent the young man that's going to west point And I remember when Trump was in his first term, he went to West Point and shook hands at every single cadet. Certainly did. Certainly did.
Judy, I hate to do this, but the computer's going to cut us off. I've got to leave it there. But God love you. Give us a holler back one of these days. 901-260-5926, our telephone number, ladies and gentlemen.

This is President Trump. And he's calling out the Democrats during his speech. Cut 15, please.
So Democrats sitting before me, for just this one night, why not join us in celebrating so many incredible wins for America? For the good of our nation, let's work together and let's truly make America great again. What a great message. But they weren't having any of it. Don Trump Jr., I thought, really nailed it with his observations cut eight.
Amazing State of the Union on Trump Force One heading back to Florida. Just so we're clear, so you understand just how deranged the Democrats are, though, they couldn't stand up for a 13-year-old kid with cancer who was made an honorary agent of the Secret Service. Think about that for a second. Democrats couldn't stand up when tonight, in breaking news, they announced that they captured the mastermind of the Abbey Gate terror that took the lives of 13 U.S. Marines in a disastrous Afghan withdrawal.
Perhaps one of the most embarrassing moments in American history. They couldn't stand for those things, let alone about a thousand other things that make total sense and benefit Americans. that's where the democrat party is today they hate you they hate our country and they're imbeciles remember that in midterms guys don't forget the energy don't lose any of that vote them out permanently yeah good for you uh don jr and that's what we're going to have to do every single day ladies and gentlemen wake up and spread the gospel of donald j trump and what is that gospel America first, America first. And you know, when you look at all the great successful things Trump's already been able to do, you do have to wonder if God is actually in all of this. If God has decided, all right, I'm going to give you people another chance, you get another crack at all of this.
Now, I know that's out of the bite. I know that's not theology. I'm just saying it just feels that way. How else can you explain all of the massive changes just six weeks into the administration? How do you do that?
I mean, that's crazy.
So look, last night, another person who was honored was the mother of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungere. This little 12-year-old girl was killed by an illegal because of Joe Biden's policies. All right? We just have to call it like it is. She is just enraged.
just enraged over how the Democrats behaved last night. This is the mother of 12-year-old little Jocelyn. Cut number six. It was truly an honor, a very surreal feeling to be sitting in that area to remember the life that Jocelyn had. I found it very cowardly that a lot of the Democrats didn't stand, didn't clap, didn't do anything to support anything that Donald Trump is trying to do as president to make this country better.
It was very shameful to the Democrats. Yeah, it was. It was. And I hated it for all those. Those are very sweet people.
They're not into politics. You know, they're new to all of this. Can you imagine? I mean, they must have been freaked out anyway. They've been dealing with horrible tragedies, personal tragedies, and tragedies in their own lives.
and here they are on the national stage and they're being treated so incredibly rudely by the democrats unbelievable msdnc they even they're upset about this they were going off on the bingo side you know they were holding up the little bingo cards last night cut number four yeah but the i don't know who's brought up the bingo signs but they should be fired this is an indictment in my opinion on the democratic leadership completely agree with that it is it really is and and they have no leadership somebody made the decision that the best the best path forward is to boo and heckle and obstruct Donald J. Trump every single day. And it's not working. And they learned that last night. It's just not working.
Now, I've got to pivot for just a second because there are a couple of big things happening today. Vice President J.D. Vance heading down to the border. And also, there are hearings underway on the sanctuary cities. And Congressman when Virginia Fox, who's a regular on this show, she just tore the mayors of Chicago, Denver, and New York City a new one.
Now, I want you to hear this conversation. We are now beginning to learn exactly how much of your money was being used to take care of the illegals. Take a listen. Mayor Johnson, in the last four years, how much has Chicago spent on care for illegal aliens? Thank you for that question, Congresswoman.
So since 2022, since the governor of Texas began shipping... Just tell me a number. I don't need a speech. Just tell me a number. So since 2022, since the governor of Texas was shipping individuals to cities across this country, the city's budget, roughly 1% of the city's budget over the course of four years.
Mayor Johnston, the same question, and I don't need a speech, just a number. Thank you, Dr. Congresswoman. Thank you, Congresswoman. It's $79 million over the last two and a half years.
Mayor Adams, same question. How much has New York spent to care for illegal aliens? Approximately $6.9 billion went out of all taxpayers' funds. Mayor Wu, same question. How much has Boston spent to care for illegal aliens in the last four years We do not ask about immigration status and giving city services and providing that access so we do not have a number Taxpayers have been bearing the brunt of the massive wave of illegal aliens who've entered the United States.
The Biden administration seemingly declared taxpayers and hardworking Americans collateral damage in the pursuit of open borders. Again, Mayor Johnson, are NGOs providing services to illegal aliens in Chicago? In accordance with the Welcoming City Ordinance, our sister agencies or city departments, we do not seek the status of any individual that is seeking service. Mayor John Stun, are NGOs providing services to illegal aliens in Denver? Thank you, ma'am.
When folks arrive on the streets without food or resources or shelter, we do provide food or shelter regardless of where folks arrive from? Mayor Adams, same question. Yes, in combination of city agencies and non-profits, we responded to the migrant asylum seekers humanitarian crisis that hit our city. And Mayor Wu, I assume you don't know their status, but do you know if there are NGOs or providing services to people arriving in your city without any kind of documentation there are community organizations many of them in boston who seek to serve all of our boston residents there you go ladies and gentlemen millions billions of your tax dollars chicago 574.5 million dollars denver 79 million dollars new york city 6.9 billion dollars and by the way, Boston, they can't even tell you in Boston, and that's Mayor Wu. She's the one who felt bad because a bad guy armed with a knife was shot and killed by an off-duty cop.
She didn't feel bad for the two people who nearly got stabbed to death inside a Chick-fil-A. Didn't feel bad for the poor cop who had to shoot somebody. She felt bad for the criminal. But they don't even ask for anybody's citizenship status in boston so who knows who knows now i just want to ask you a question here and we'll just let's just say you folks in salem oregon right now take a good long look around your town do you do you think that you guys could have found a way to use 574.5 million dollars in salem oregon you folks driving around memphis tennessee that have to go to the tire store every week because you've blown a tire because you hit a pothole, you think you could use that $79 million? You think you could have found a good use for that, maybe hire a few more police officers?
You folks in Gainesville, Georgia, and St. Louis think you could figure out what to do with $6.9 billion? Because that money, ladies and gentlemen, that money could have been used to help Americans. but instead it's going to take care of illegal aliens in just the last four years just the last four years all right we've got to take a quick break here 901-260-5926 that's 901-260-5926 head over to toddstearns.com and be sure to check out uh the the ways that you can become a part of our effort to support food for the poor a generation of children in el salvador are lost to malnutrition and the only way to a better future is through a school feeding program. What a great day to be alive. What a great day to be an American citizen.
So, here is President Trump, and I'm just so excited over the president and what he did last night. The New York Times was very dismissive of the president's speech, and they said he sounded like a TV game show host giving things out. These people disgust me. The young man who was appointed to West Point, his father, was killed. Killed.
they did they're so dismissive of everything this president is doing um let's go to cut number 14 joining us in the gallery tonight is a young man who truly loves our police his name is dj daniel he is 13 years old and he has always dreamed of becoming a police officer but in 2018 dj was diagnosed with brain cancer the doctors gave him five months at most to live that was more than six years ago since that time dj and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true and dj has been sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer actually a number of times peace the police love him the police departments love him and tonight dj we're going to do you the biggest honor of them all i am asking our new secret service director sean curran to officially make you an agent of the united states secret service wow it's it's a beautiful it's a beautiful story and yet then you had people like ms dnc's nicole wallace and by the way she should have been fired last night for what she had to say we're going to play this this woman has no business being anywhere on television she's a disgrace and nicole wallace well we're going to play what she had to say and i'm gonna give you some background intel on this chick uh cut 19. i think this was a lesson in finding one thing that that you let yourself feel and i let myself feel um joy about dj and i hope he's alive for another you know 95 years right and i hope he lives um and the life he wants to live he wants to be a cop he knows what he wants to do and maybe when you have childhood cancer that crystallizes for you. And I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer. But I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump supporters. And if he does, I hope he isn't one of the six who loses his life to suicide.
And I hope he isn't one who has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people. Shut up, woman. Shut up. You pig. Who does this woman think she is?
What a disgusting thing to say. Who thinks like this? Who thinks like this, ladies and gentlemen? Shame on you. Shame on MSDNC.
You know what? This woman is actually worse than Joyless Reed. By the way, Nicole Wallace, just for some background intel, she's the one who screwed over Sarah Palin. She's the one responsible for doing all of that. She used to be a Republican operative.
She was part of the whole McCain, Steve Schmidt, whole McCain apparatus, political apparatus. She is a very bad, evil person. Unbelievable. Here's Rachel Maddow. Mr.
Maddow, let's play his comments, please. For the record, and this is disgusting, the president made a spectacle out of praising a young man who thus far survived pediatric cancer. as if the president had something to do with that. This was in the midst of him praising Doge. The Doge cuts, among other things, have cut off funding for ongoing research into pediatric cancer.
So now you've got Rachel Maddow saying it was disgusting that Trump was praising this little kid. These people, you got to see the Democrats for who they really are last night. That's what that was all about, and I'm glad you did. And I'm glad tens of millions of Americans, I suspect, got to see. And I suspect it was very shocking for a lot of people to realize who these people are.
I mean, this was like the bar scene at Star Wars on steroids. That's what that was last night. One of my favorite parts was when Trump literally called out Pocahontas. Cut 18. Do you want to keep it going for another five years?
yeah yeah you you would say pocahontas says yes you know trump was having trying to have a good time he was he was actually very cordial to these folks and in spite of the heckling and the naysayers and i i personally i am glad that jasmine crockett did not throw an egg and she did not deliver on that promise but i tell you i wouldn't have lost any sleep if the secret service would have taken her down with a taser had she done that but i'm i'm glad that didn't happen i don't want to see our president put through something like that and it was shameful their behavior but donald trump he took the high ground last night all right we've got to take a quick break here folks uh again head over to our website and you can join our efforts to help food for the poor uh you'll see all the information right there on toddstearns.com. You better be doing good after that incredible speech last night. Welcome, everybody. 901-260-5926. Our telephone number, that's 901-260-5926. Let's go right away to our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and say hello to our good friend, the great Robin Poffman.
And, Robin, I thought I heard your hoots and hollers all the way in Memphis, Tennessee last night. I was so excited and so revved up. My engines were all ready to go. I was so inspired, Todd, by what I saw last night with Trump. Such a great feeling.
There was such a Ronald Reagan element. I just remember being in college and working as an intern back in the day for the Washington Bureau of the Baltimore Sun and going in when Reagan would give those speeches back in the day in the late 80s, mid to late 80s. And I had that same feeling. that just here's a man who has nothing to lose. He's pushing 80 years old.
He's going to lay it all out on the table. And he's had four years to think about all of these very detailed and important line items to save our country. You know, isn't it interesting, Robin, I think in a way that Trump was able to also expose the Democrats for how extreme they are now. And that was evident not just in policy, but just in appearance. It was really a circus on the left side.
It was. You know, as he was walking into the chamber, there was this woman in a pink dress with the little sign, this isn't normal. And I was pointing that out to my husband, who had walked away from the TV for a minute. I'm like, what is up with these people? And then all their little signs.
And you think about, talk about signs and symbolism, you think about the last time that Trump was in the chamber, and when was that? When Nancy Pelosi was sitting behind him as then Speaker of the House, ripping up his speech, the same kind of babyish antics. You know, it reminds me of, you know, playing in the sandbox as a kid. Oh, you stole my toy. You took this.
You took that. I'm going to get you, you know, the one-upmanship. and it's absolutely nauseating and anti-American. Robin, moving forward, there is no doubt it's going to take some time for the prices to come down. There's no doubt that there are going to be some price fluctuations as a result of the tariffs.
Do you think the American people are going to be patient? That would be my only concern here. are they going to be patient enough to wait for all these things to work themselves out? I think so. I think that people who are right of center and farther to the right, for sure.
I think that people in the middle, maybe who voted Democrat the last election cycle and then came over to the Trump team, yes. But people in the far left, the people that you saw last night, who would not stand up for these moms that their daughters were murdered, brutal murders, that the hands of illegals who never should have been in this country. And then the boy who had, who has brain cancer, my gosh, 13 years old, who, you know, sworn in as a police officer in many jurisdictions across the country. What a brilliant, adorable little boy. You look at his eyes when Trump says, we're going to make you a Secret Service agent.
He's there hugging, not just a hug, Todd, but a double hug to the head of security, the security guard who's now in charge of Secret Service, who was there with Trump during the fight, fight, fight moment in Butler, you know, forever emblazoned in our minds. I mean, I was so emotional last night watching this, how anyone could, anybody, let me say this, anyone who was seated, who was not in tears, who was not clapping, who was not standing, who was not turning around and looking behind them to look up at this little boy in that embrace with that Secret Service agent, has no heart and has no business, absolutely no business, representing people in our government. Because you know what? They didn't stand up for that little boy, and they are not going to stand up for you. How do you like that?
Wow. It's a great line. You know, I was, what was it, several years ago, Jody Heiss, back when Trump was in office, I got to be Jody Heiss as the congressman from Georgia, his plus one. I was his special invited guest. And so I got to sit up there in the, you know, in the stadium seating, the balcony.
Thank you. That's the word I was looking for. And it was fascinating, Robin, because I was actually seated and they really don't have, I guess they have assigned seats. And for some reason, I was surrounded by Democrats, and I had no idea I was until the first line of President Trump's speech. I shot up and was giving a standing ovation, and I realized I'm the only person in our little section standing up.
I'm like, what, are you guys liberal or something? What's wrong with you people? Yeah, you know, it's one of those events that is very rare. It only happens, you know, once a year. and once every couple of years, you know, this president, of course, being reelected again.
So that was his fifth time doing it to the joint session of Congress. I thought, Nancy Pelosi, if you just want to talk about the optics. First of all, let's go back to Congressman Green, who got himself tossed out of there with his cane, you know, looking old, frail, and frankly, looking crazy, disrespectful. I didn't see any Republicans during Obama or Biden doing that. I thought it was outrageous.
And then Nancy Pelosi was sitting there. She looks like she doesn't have a lot of air left in the balloon, so to speak. And I thought there was a lot of anger in that room. And I bet if you took each of those people individually, especially the women, I think they're ignorant. I think they don't really know what a tariff is, how it all works.
They're not down in the weeds on the processes and procedures, if you will. And they're not business people, and they don't have the intellectual muscle to really understand what's going on in this country, let alone with foreign relations and foreign politics. and I think that the people who live in their districts, especially these congressional types, whoever lives in AOC's district in the Bronx in New York, she was not there that I saw, but some of these folks need to, all of them that were seated, need to be voted out. How do you not stand for a woman whose 12-year-old daughter was brutally raped and murdered by two illegals who shouldn't have been here. How do you not stand for the Competeur family, the firefighter who, during the shooting in Butler, jumped on the wife and two daughters to protect them from bullets that were flying?
He lost his life. How do you not stand for that family? I get chills just thinking about it, just talking about it on your show. These people, Todd, they have no heart. That's the bottom line.
It is. And I think the American people, when you look at the numbers coming out from the CBS and the CNN polling data, I mean, an overwhelming landslide majority of the American people love that speech. They loved what President Trump had to say. And I think right out of the gate saying that America is back, that we're moving into the golden age of America. And it was a very hopeful presidential speech.
It was. It definitely had Reagan elements. I thought there was some Stephen Miller sarcasm in there at points. There were lines in there that I could feel that maybe he wrote or massaged into the words. You know, you have to be Trump is Trump, so you have to make the speech, you know, in his voice, so to speak.
But I would say this. There were two nuggets of breaking news in the speech. I thought that, you know, him, Trump revealing the letter that he received from Zelensky was interesting to announce. And also the fact that this terrorist, the top terrorist who plotted the bombing at the Abbey Gate in Afghanistan, where we sadly lost 13 of our U.S.
soldiers, in that Biden-Harris debacle withdrawal was en route back to the U.S. And it was very interesting because I saw this morning the CIA director, Radcliffe, was on with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News Business. And he stated very clearly that he was at the airport in Dulles last night. I don't know if that was before or after the speech when top terrorist Afghan was deported back here. and that Pam Bondi was there and that the FBI director, Cash Patel, was there and that the whole group was there when this terrorist landed on our soil to face our justice.
And I just remember in that period, Todd, being at a Tunnel to Towers event in New York City at the time, a week or two after that went down, and Tunnel to Towers, the charity organization pertaining to 9-11, which has expanded out for other causes, paid off the mortgages of those families' homes of the 13. What did the U.S. government do? Nothing. Joe Biden was looking at his watch when those caskets were brought back to the U.S.
It makes me sick to my stomach. And I also think about how we were living on a wing and a prayer with that dementia-ridden, sadly, president. He had dementia. He has dementia. It's very clear to everyone who has eyes.
It's amazing nothing worse happened, except that I'm really fearful that under Biden-Harris and all these illegals that are up to no good, the ones that are the criminal illegal aliens that have an agenda, that they are very deeply embedded in this country. And Tom Homan, boy, does he have a job ahead of him.
Well, he does. And I think Pam Bondi's got a big job ahead of her, also Kash Patel. I want to circle back to something you said about Zelensky. That meeting was just off, you know, the one where there were the back and the forth. And we now know that the Democrats met privately with Zelensky, and we understand that they told him to be confrontational.
So I'm wondering if Zelensky, not knowing better, took their advice, went in there and completely messed it up and now of course because we understand according to i think it was the vice president he sat down with hannity and said hey look you know zelinski almost right away was wanting to have a do-over so i think even zelinski realized that he made the wrong move there yeah there's no question about it and for the safety of his people for his own safety, he would be very well advised to sign whatever Trump is offering. I thought it was, I just thought that last night was a master class in patriotism. I'm so proud today to be an American. It really takes me over emotionally because we've been literally in the dumper in the garbage can for the last four years, disrespected around the world. and the most important thing is that respect is back respect is back and that to me is the only thing that matters and i really hope that um you know again we have a president who's almost 80 years old i hope his health holds out for the next four years but i think that he and i his safety and i would say this that he has assembled quite the team when you watch every single person from Marco Rubio on down the line walk into that room and the Supreme Court justices before many of them, a few of them that Trump appointed in the last term, you really see strength in the U.S.
government in a way I can't even think of a time where we have appeared this strong. Yeah, I'm with you on that. And I thought it was interesting. There had been a piece that came out before the speech in Vanity Fair, Gabe Sherman did a deep dive and talking about how Rubio was unhappy and felt like he had been pushed out of the inner circle. And I thought it was very interesting within that context how President Trump really went out of his way to lavish praise on Secretary of State Rubio last night.
Yeah, he did. And I think that, you know, sometimes when you're, let's say you're a parent and you have, you know, 10 children, right? You want to give them all equal, you want to give them equal attention, right? Even if you have two kids, you're trying to always, you know, 50-50 it up. And I think that maybe his focus was on some of the others that maybe he hadn't, you know, maybe it was just a simple oversight.
But I will tell you, when you think of the safety of this country and the evil that the left has for whatever their motivation uh you know right now as we speak those uh four mayors uh woo from boston and then the guy from chicago and the new york yeah denver you know they're up there on capitol hill trying to defend a posture that's absolutely todd indefensible of keeping criminal illegals no one living in those cities i don't care who you are older young black white whatever you know hispanic whatever you are whatever you believe, you are not safe in your home or walking the streets in the towns that are sanctuary city harboring literal criminals. And I really hope that we defund these areas and really bring them to their knees.
So the sanctuary city policies absolutely go away because we're not going to have a calm with Trump that we will not have a country left. If you start seeing, you know, Where was the last terrorist attack with the Tsarnaev brothers was in Boston. Is there a memorial there? No, there's not, because the people of Boston sweep everything under the left-wing people, sweep everything under the carpet. And it's absolutely infuriating, and it's dangerous.
Robin, got to leave it there. We are up against the wall here. Appreciate, as always, your great analysis. Thanks. You're welcome.
Robin Poffman, everybody, on our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. Folks, we've been hearing for so long now, and Congress had hearings on this. They brought in some of the biggest banks in America, and they admitted that they were canceling.
They were targeting conservatives and conservative-owned businesses, and that's just unacceptable. Can't even imagine just getting a call out of the blue one day saying we've shut down your bank accounts because we don't like your politics. That's nuts. This is one of the reasons why I am supporting Old Glory Bank, an FDIC-insured bank created to protect your privacy, your security, and your liberty. It was co-founded in 2022 by Dr.
Ben Carson, Larry Elder, and John Rich, and they now serve tens of thousands of customers in all 50 states.

All right, let's go right to the phones. Gainesville, Georgia, TC, listening to us on WDUN.
Hi, TC, what's on your mind? Can you hear me? You're coming in loud and clear, TC. Let's go for it. I'm not.
I think it's worth mentioning, you know, Trump mentioned it last night about the egg prices. It's one of the things that he's, you know, it was in the speech. It's going to be very hard for Trump to bring the price of eggs down. It's neither his fault nor Biden's when you have a nationwide issue with bird flu in numerous states.
So the price of chicken and the availability of chicken and eggs is going to be something that he's going to have trouble dealing with. And what worries me is people's attention span is so short in this country. We're going to have to have some good results in the first two years, or we could face losses in the midterms. And that's just one of the things he has to fight that's not his fault. And I know it's an issue he's got to deal with, but the thing that they could, the Republicans could learn from the Democrats on a different note, is the Democrats are great about one thing.
If they're all on a ship that's thinking they're either all going to live or they're all going to die, because they're going to stick together. And the Republicans have not figured this out yet. And so unless they can unify it for at least these two years and get this agenda done with just their votes, they could face backlash or. Yeah, it's true. They could, TC.
I mean, and they could. And I, I, too, share that one concern. Attention spans are very, very short. TC, I've got to run. We got to take a quick break.
Thank you for that call, though. We'll be right back. President Trump is moving at lightning speed. Billions of dollars in waste, fraud and abuse. Executive orders, new policies, promises kept.
It's hard to keep up until now. Subscribe to The Trump Report. This email brings you daily highlights from the Oval Office right to your inbox five days a week. The golden age of America begins right now. It'll help you follow President Trump at the speed of Trump.
Well, there's an interesting report coming out from the Doge Committee. Yesterday, the National Institute of Health canceled seven grants.
So they've been running these really perverted experiments on animals. Remember, was it Fauci? Fauci and the beagles. Oh, that was disgusting.
So now we understand they've been trying to run these transgender experiments on animals. This is all coming from Doge. $532,000 to use a mouse model to investigate the effects of cross-sex testosterone treatment. They've spent $33,000 to test feminizing hormone therapy in male rats. And, of course, there was a separate incident involving just a godforsaken amount of money to turn the rats into transgender creatures.
It's all very bizarre. But anyway, President Trump bringing all of this up last night in his speech. I want to go right away to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and say hello to Congressman Marlon Stutzman from Indiana's 3rd Congressional District.
So, Congressman, what was it like to be in the room last night?
Well, Todd, great to be with you. You know, it was really electric. And, you know, I had served from 2010 to 2016, so I'd been in the room before with under President Obama.
Well, very different than what it was back then. There was actually respect in the room for the office. There was, you know, Republicans. We may have disagreed with policy, but, you know, we stood and applauded those up in the gallery who had, you know, were there for a particular issue that had done something remarkable here as an American. But, you know, it was what really stood out, though, was the fact that President Trump, you know, as he spoke for almost two hours, it was just success after success after success.
And then it was vision, casting a vision. And that's what's so different and is really exciting to me as a returning member to be in the room when President Trump is actually leading America. Was it as loud, you know, being in the room? You can certainly hear it on the television broadcast, but the disruptions coming from the Democrats, could you hear those happening in the room? Yeah, absolutely.
And, of course, Congressman Green, his interruption was right front and center and in the middle of the House chamber. And just, again, so unnecessary and disrespectful to not only the institution but to the president and to those around us. And the Democrats, they were constantly chattering and they had their signs that they were holding up. It was like being in fifth grade. And again, you know, President Trump won the popular vote.
He won the electoral college easily, won the swing states, and the Democrats just can't accept it.
So there's two things they can't accept is the fact that President Trump won the election and that boys should not be playing a girls' sport.
So they have a lot to learn, it appears.
So as you and I are speaking, just a few moments ago, we got word that the vice president, Pete Hegseth, defense secretary, I also understand Tulsi Gabbard, all at the border. And it is going to be a bad day if you're a member of the cartel when you've got those folks down there. But again, it proves to a point what you wrote. I was checking your Twitter feed, and you said the Democrats continue to be tone deaf, and especially on issues regarding the border. yeah and you know that's again where leadership matters it just it's so obvious that president trump laid out his agenda and the border was the top of the agenda and he sent the message clear that anybody who's here illegally whose uh criminal activity is going to be targeted for deportation and boy he he laid it down last night with the cartels and you know putting them in the same category as terrorist groups like Hamas or Hezbollah or ISIS.
But, you know, to see what they're doing to our country and to have an open border on the southern border or the northern border, for that matter, that we're not controlling. And, you know, here we are. We're the greatest nation on earth. We've got the greatest men and women, whether it's in law enforcement, police, or military, to put a stop to these things and just have them to stand down like they did under the Biden administration is so, it just is not what the American people are expecting, and it's letting the American people down. And so President Trump has come out with guns blazing, and it sends a message not only to the bad guys, but also to anybody around the world that America's back, and that we're going to use the greatness that we have to be even greater, and that there's a reason why we have that greatness because we've had great leaders in the past that have looked out for the American people and the American people have the ability to do great things when they have the opportunity and government's not standing in the way.
You know, Congressman, I was really taken aback by the women in pink on the Democrat side. I call them the Pepto-Bismol caucus. They were standing up for women. These are the same people who literally voted to keep men in women's sports. Are they that dense?
You know, I was actually in financial services committee meeting this morning, and they're continuing the same mantra. You know, when you get focused on the wrong things and you can't take a step back and say, okay, what are we doing wrong? Why did we lose this last election so badly? and how are we going to get things turned around, you know, you take an objective look. They're not.
They are still fixated on whether it's the transgender issues or whether it's the open border. You know, and there was, Todd, this is what was really the saddest part last night was when President Trump talked about the funding for Ukraine. There was more applause from the Democrat side of the aisle for Ukraine, and they were waving flags, Ukrainian flags, over on the Democrat side. Never once did I see an American flag flying on the other side. They are applauding more for Ukraine than what they're applauding for America.
And that's what just blows my mind that that's where they're at. But you know what, if they want to continue down that road, I know the American people are going to send them a message again in 2026 that they don't trust them to lead the reins in government. On that note, and the big challenge that the American public has, I think, is short-term memory. That's it.
So they're concerned about pocketbook issues, and ultimately I think that's what drove them to the ballot box in November. What happens if, and I know the president was trying to prepare farmers, for example, because these tariffs are going to have a bit of, they're going to pack a punch initially. You've got prices at the supermarket aren't coming down yet. how do you guys deal with that from a political standpoint because it's an issue it is you know i come from a farming family i've you know still have we have our farm back in indiana and you know we are in the poultry business we're in the beef business and of course uh row crops um you know but the egg prices that goes back to the bird flu i mean that's a real problem that we're having across the country uh this is not something that started since president trump uh took office They like to talk about egg prices.
Well, there's actually really supply and demand, and the fact that the government likes to get involved and actually usually makes the wrong decision rather than the right decision. And this is going to be fixed. But, you know, as a farmer, one of the things about the American farm, we're the most productive, we not only feed America, but we feed greater parts of the world. But we know that there may be some difficulties with this, but we're also very patriotic and believe that $36 trillion of debt is going to be the downfall of America rather than tariffs are. It may be rocky, and we're all prepared for that, but also we know that there's going to be a president that's got our back on deregulation, and they're going to get the government off our back.
there's going to be an extension of the tax rates that are going to keep taxes low. I would say probably almost 99% of the farmers out there would fall in that category of keeping the tax rates where they're at. If they go up, it's going to affect us greatly. And then also trade. President Trump is the best negotiator this country's had in many, many decades.
And so we know that he's going to get the good deals for us. That way we can continue to produce more and there'll be other places to do that. Also, we're going to increase our food quality. And, you know, this Maha movement is for real. I had the chance to talk with RFK last night as a farmer and tell him how passionate I am about seeing our food supply become a healthier food supply.
And so there's going to be other ways that we can offset any of that volatility from the tariffs. could happen, but at the same time, I know that we'll find a way through it all, and it's going to make America stronger. All right.
Well, Congressman, we're going to leave it there. We appreciate you coming on the show today. I look forward to getting you back. We always love talking to farm folks on this program, and glad you're able to be there in that room for such an incredible speech last night. Thank you, Todd.
Great to be with you this afternoon. I appreciate it. All right, Congressman Marlon Stutzman, everybody. Indiana's 3rd Congressional District, One of the good guys up there, and we're going to get him back on. I like that a lot.
By the way, coming up a little bit later on, Liz Peek is going to join us. Also, Josh Jones, 5 o'clock Eastern, the Todd Stern Show on Newsmax. This morning, I was having – it was just a crazy night. Long night, a little groggy this morning, so I'm brewing up my Wired to Fish coffee. And I'm telling you, this is really a great blend of coffee.
and one of the things that i love about it let's set aside the delicious taste and i'm a dark roast guy love wired to fish coffee's dark roast blend one of the things i love about these guys they're conservative and they're christian and they're they're doing some incredible ministry work as a matter of fact wired to fish coffee gives back 25 of its profits 25 and they give those profits to faith-based organizations. And also, the owners are big anglers. They're big fishermen. They love fishing. And so one of the things that really just strikes a chord with them is fish conservation.
And so they're taking that money. They're 25% of their profits, and they're providing that money to these incredibly wonderful organizations that are supporting conservation and Christianity. and I love this. It's a give back that I can get behind. And if you drink coffee every day like I do, and I am a huge coffee drinker.
I shouldn't be, but I am, and I love my coffee. It's sort of like my, that's my jam. That's my vice.
So why not drink coffee that supports your favorite pastime? Why not drink coffee that's going to support your Christian values? And it's easy for me to tell you about this because it's just a freaking good cup of coffee.
So I want you to go check them out online. And the website address, a little funky, but I want to give it to you.
So listen up and write it down. Wired2FishCoffee.com. That's Wired2FishCoffee.com. But it's the number two. Don't write it out.
Wired2FishCoffee.com. Now, use my code STARNS today, and you are going to get 10% off your first order. And the prices are really, really so inexpensive. You're going to want to stock up so i want to encourage you get in a big order of your coffee today 10 off using my code stars wired2fishcoffee.com that's wired the number two fish coffee.com all right i've got to play some audio for you this this just happened on capitol hill uh during a hearing Ayanna Pressley. And the Democrats are now just all about disrupting.
That's all they want to do. And this just happened. And you're going to hear the voice of Congressman James Comer, who's the chair of this committee. Let's listen. Without objections, I'm ordered.
We've put it in the record. I have an internet. You have what? Mr. Chair, I have several articles.
I need to enter them. Let me just go ahead with what the articles are. What's the next? article. Let me proceed.
Data from Texas shows that U.S. born Americans commit more rape and murder than immigrants. This trend of you all trying to get thrown out of committees so you can get on MSNBC is going to end. We're not going to put up with it. This is my procedural right as a member of this committee to enter documents into the record.
Mr. Frost and Mr. Green. I'm reclaiming my time. You do not get through.
No, no. Ms. President, I have been very accommodating to you. Mr. Subramyam, back to clock.
And I take particular umbrage as a survivor of sexual violence. I will enter into the record. This is my rights. Thank you. No, no.
It is Mr. Subramyam. Mr. Chair. No, you know the process of unanimous consent.
You are not recognized. I have several articles to enter into the record. Mr. Subraman, if you don't go, we're going to recognize Mr. Timmons.
Wow. Could you imagine having to put up with that nonsense every single day? I don't know how the Republicans do it. I really don't. But these people are off their rocker.
And look, I hope that people like Ayanna Pressley and Jasmine Crockett and AOC and Ilhan Omar, she was holding somebody said somebody put out a meme she was holding one of those little panels those bingo panels that said i married my brother but she did she married her own brother what the heck is that all about so look i hope they keep this up i hope they do because this ladies and gentlemen is what the democrat party truly represents and they're going to have their butts handed to them in every single election. That's the reality of it, because the American people are tired of it. The American people are tired and frustrated, and they're angry at what the Democrats did to this country over the past four years. It's just simply unacceptable.
So anyway, well done, President Trump. It is going to be a great day moving forward. The one big challenge, and you heard the congressman allude to this as well, and the congressman coming from a farming family, we're going to go through some difficult times. This American ride. Time starts. Oh, yeah. My primary takeaway was that Democrats stole the show, but not necessarily in a good way for the party. Look, I think there's a reason that Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told his members yesterday to be on their best behavior, not to be protesting, not to draw attention away.
And they didn't listen. They made themselves the story. They heckled. They had signs. They walked out.
It's interesting because, as one White House official told our colleague, Dasher Burns, last night, they looked like petulant children. And that became the story instead of what Donald Trump was talking about. And he was really leaning into some controversial things, right?
So if they let him sort of stay in the spotlight, it perhaps could have been better for them. But look, the base is angry. They want to see people reacting to Donald Trump. And so, you know, Democrats sort of did what the base wanted. All right.
That was Rachel Bade from Politico talking about the childish behavior of the Democrats. I mean, it really was abhorrent. And I, you know, regardless, and I know she was saying, well, look, you know, Trump's speech was horrible, but it wasn't. And an overwhelming number of the American people in a CNN and CBS News poll said by massive numbers that they love Trump's speech. I want to go to our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line, say hello to our great friend, the great Fox News columnist, Liz Peake.
Liz, hope you're doing good. And what did you think about the speech last night? Oh, I love the speech. Thanks for having me on. I thought, you know, this was a moment that Trump really needed to explain to the American people what he's doing, what he intends to do, why tariffs are a good idea.
You know, it probably wasn't the best timing to impose these tariffs right before this speech, because almost definitely the stock market was going to get clobbered as a result. And that's basically what happened.
So, you know, I think we've had a number of indicators that Americans are a little jittery about the tariffs, about inflation.
So it's a really good thing that Trump came out and said, look, this is what we're doing. It's because of fentanyl. It's because of American jobs. It's going to work. And yes, it will be bumpy for a little bit.
Just like Doge is not going to be perfect. They're going to make mistakes. But my gosh, Todd, how can you possibly think that reforming the federal government and getting rid of some of the waste and fat and fraud is a bad thing? I mean, I think I think Democrats, yes, it looked like spoiled brats last night. I think these little lollipop signs were ridiculous looking.
And by the way, I mean, something that I heard on Fox News, and I didn't know this really, you know, the tradition is that when the president's cabinet walks in, they walk in with members of the other party. There's some decorum items that just basically the Democrats blew off last night.
So, you know, it was worse than even it looked and it looked terrible.
So I really think that, you know, for them not to applaud, not to stand when you were talking about the little 13-year-old black kid that had brain cancer. I mean, what's wrong with these people? I thought they were supposed to be the compassionate party. They turn out to be sort of freakishly uncompassionate. And, you know, there were a lot of very moving stories in that gallery, and they didn't respond to a single one as far as I saw.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I just thought it was a horrible performance. And to your point, what do we know about how people view this speech? The great majority of Americans, 78%, I think was the number in the CBS poll, liked it very much. I think it was 67 or something like that in the CNN poll. Those are pretty darn dramatic numbers when you know that there's a pretty big swath of the American public that doesn't like Donald Trump, but they like the speech.
They like the speech, and I think they're liking the policies, Liz. And my only concern is that the president, and you know how the president, the president is like, oh, yeah, day one, egg prices are coming down.
Well, we know that's not true. We know that it's not going to happen. It's going to take some time. And my concern is that if it takes too much time, we head into the midterms, And that could be an issue for voters because they have short-term memory, and the reality is they're voting based on their pocketbook. Yeah, 100 percent.
And so there are a couple of things that he could do, I think, to buy two more years. And it's important to get two more years because Congress is moving slowly. And I actually think Congress has probably outperformed expectations in terms of the House actually passing a budget resolution, the Senate confirming almost all of Trump's cabinet and so forth in kind of record time.
So we mustn't lose sight of that. Congress is doing well. But, yes, I want four years. I want four years of activity. Two things could happen.
One, peace. if indeed he resolves the war between Ukraine and Russia in a way that people are happy about, that's huge. I mean, that's really a very big thing that Donald Trump will have done. And let's remember, because people have short memories, Biden had no plan to solve this problem. They never talked about winning the war.
And in fact, about a year and a half ago, Elon Musk came out and said, you know what, they're not going to win. We should need a settlement. and people just thought he was terrible for saying that.
So what is their decision? What's their choice? Keep the killing going on forever indefinitely?
So anyway, I think that's one thing that Trump definitely could do. And the other thing, I know it's a goofy idea, but there has been this talk of a doge dividend. And yes, some of my conservative friends are saying, no, no, no, you can't give any money to the people. It all has to go to debt reduction.
Well, guess what? $5,000 check in the mail, and it's a very legitimate check because this is money that came from taxpayers. It should go back to taxpayers. I think that would be huge. And if they could get that done, that's another thing that could really pump up the midterm prospects.
Right now, though, Todd, Democrats are nowhere. They don't know what they stand for. And when you look at this CBS News poll, it wasn't just overall approval of the speech. A huge majority, 77%, support Doge cutting spending. 77% back his immigration approach, et cetera.
So, you know, I mean, he's on a roll, and I just hope he keeps it going. No, I'm with you 1,000% there. And, again, you know, Congress, you know, they're going to have a lot on their plate. You know, the Supreme Court came out today with that ruling on what to do with the Doge money or the U.S. aid money.
and that was a setback. But the reality is a lot of this stuff has to be codified. Congress has to deal with this. And I just don't want us to be in a situation where, heaven forbid, we get a Democrat in four years in the Oval Office. If that happens, they're going to be able to undo all these executive orders.
Congress has to be able to start getting in there and start codifying some of this stuff I agree 100 I do think there are some things where there is such overwhelming support for example closing the border securing the border that I don't think anyone in their right mind would take it off, would take over the Oval Office in four years and reverse that. I think that's an incredibly important thing that's happened. Other things like the tariffs, I agree that, you know, could, but to your point, probably the biggest thing, get the tax cuts done, make them permanent. And then you don't have that specter of a Kamala Harris or Tim Walz running on undoing the tax cuts, which, by the way, I mean, if you remember just a few months ago, So Kamala Harris wanted to let those tax cuts expire, in effect, hitting their economy with about a $3 trillion tax increase. I mean, that was one of the dumbest campaign programs ever.
But, you know, that's what she ran on, and they could do it again. It's true. It's true. All right, Liz, we're going to leave it there. Always good to hear from you.
And where can folks go if they want to get more information on the great Liz Peake?
Well, two things. One, probably the best thing is to go to Twitter, X, and my handle is Liz Peek, L-I-Z-P-E-E-K. And I do have a website, although the website is under reconstruction, so probably not such a good idea. Anyway, I appreciate the question, and thanks for having me. All right, everybody, Liz Peek, and you can always read her great work over at foxnews.com.

Make the switch to Newsmax today. Let's go to the phone lines. 901-260-5926. Charlie in Cleveland, Georgia. Charlie, what did you think about the speech last night?
Well, what I got out of it, I'm a simple man. I have to understand things in a simple way. I see the old saying is the light shines in darkness, and the darkness comprehends it not. And I think that's what happened last night. I know we talked about loving our neighbor as yourself, but if you destroy yourself, you'll never be able to help your neighbor.
yeah i think there's a lot of i think there's a lot of truth to that charlie it's it's a fair point you make well i that's what i look at it it was there was some light there last night but people just wouldn't take it uh because they walk in darkness and that's the way i look at it and i appreciate you clicking my call i'm a little nervous i've never called into a radio station before uh but that's the way i see things and we we have the hope that the light will prevail Charlie, you did a great job first time out.
Well done, sir. And you give us a call back one of these days.
Well, thank you so much. Thank you. All right.
901-260-5926, our telephone number. Ben Dieter just popped in. You were actually giving a speech today. Oh, was I giving a speech? We talked about you.
We talked about the show.
So the Todd Starns Show audience, you were well represented in West Tennessee today. And tell us the name of the group that you spoke to. The Republican Women of Purpose. These women have purpose. And I've got to tell you, the mood in the room was electric because these women went to Michigan.
They're from Tennessee. They went to Georgia. They went to Pennsylvania. And they took buses. Groups of women to knock on doors.
I mean, we're talking 70, 80-year-old women and a lot of other ages as well. Knocking on doors a month before that election.
So, yes, we celebrated the big golden era speech from President Trump last night, but it was made in part to those women. And so that's what we were celebrating. I'm curious, what was the reaction to President Trump's speech? They were sickened by the Democrats. They just were appalled.
We talked a lot about the highlights, a lot of this stuff you covered on this show today. and they were just shocked that there wasn't one moment where Democrats and Republicans could kind of drop the partisan politics and come together and unite for America. They were appalled. And the Democrats refused to do so. I really do think there was, you know, Charlie has a great point.
It was light and darkness. And there was a lot of darkness on the Democrat side. The optics were what was so crazy. By the way, what was up with Amy Coney Barrett? She's gone to the dark side, I'm afraid.
Her reaction to President Trump when he greeted her, very off-putting, very strange. What did you, so were you watching it with what? Baptist Martinez? I mean, you were tweeting out a storm. I was following all of your tweets.
Were you having fun? Was it better than the Oscars? Yeah, it was a lot better than the Oscars, yeah. No, I was drinking my Wired to Fish coffee. I had the dark roast blend.
That kept me powered last night. It was running the engine.
Well, I was on a run. I missed the first part of this speech, and I got a text from you, and he said, Trump is back. I'm like, what? And then I get on, and I hear this man with a cane. And I didn't even know this congressperson existed.
And I just get on C-SPAN. I'm literally sweating from the gym. And I'm like, what's going on? It's a kangaroo circus in the joint session there. You sent me a photograph.
We cannot name names. but one of the Republican women was wearing a very form-fitting top, and she looked like, well, she was invoking her inner Dolly Parton. Is that a fair? Yeah, she was, yeah.
Okay. May I just say, and she was also, she made her way to the aisle.
So, you know, that's the coveted seat. I saw Tim Burchett there. Harshbarger. Harshbarger was there. And then there was the boob.
Yeah. The boobage. Yeah. And you could see, I mean, it was. I felt bad for the president.
He was like, oh, hold on, hold on. I've got a wife. She's sitting up there in the gallery. Those women, and we love our Republican women congresspeople, but they were like, did you see Marjorie Taylor Greene? I mean, she went in for a kiss.
Oh, she did? Yeah, yeah, yeah. She had a big MAGA hat. I will say the stark difference of the State of the Union one year ago when, what was it, President Poo Poo Pants couldn't even say Lincoln Riley's name correctly. Didn't he call her Lincoln?
Lincoln. Yeah. So it was just a stark contrast. You know, it was funny watching Al Green, the congressman from Texas, you know, basically, I felt like it was back in the 19th century and he was going to storm the podium with his cane. He was waving the cane around.
And this is the part, this is the, what the Democrats, they portray themselves as the party of the young people, the up and coming party.
Well, they couldn't do that last night because I think the young people, they left one minute into the speech. Did you see Jasmine Crockett? She put something in the – she was drinking like Kool-Aid. I think it was strawberry or mixed berry Kool-Aid. I think she was drinking something.
I think she was hammered. She was all over the place. The profanity? She got out of there. It was like something you would see in a Memphis downtown brawl.
There's more language. There's more audio. We can't even play some of it. Dylan would be here until the cows come home bleeping everything. Here's Congresswoman Crockett, cut 23.
if you could tell donald trump anything tonight what would you tell him i would tell him to grow a spine and uh stop being putin's hoe stop being putin's hoe uh and here she is a cut number 11 this is where she says mother fornicator that while we may not have the mom the numbers just yet that doesn't mean that we don't have fight left in our bodies and so i am going to fight him every step of the way until we get what we deserve because it was my ancestors that built this okay i'm done now i'm done that's ghetto someone needs to call it out that's ghetto i'm sorry if i were in her district i'd be offended she's from texas of all people so educated at rhodes yeah in memphis that's where she picked that up were you disappointed in the resistance the little auction bidding cards that they were holding i expected more i love the one that that And Ilhan Omar was holding up that said, I married my brother. I love that one. I thought someone was going to throw an egg or something because they're on all about the egg prices. I thought they would have like egg cartons or something. I was disappointed.
I was waiting for somebody to do that and then that person to be tased. I would have been all over it. Hey, folks, hang tight. We've got Kathy in Oregon. Kathy, hang tight.
We've got to take a quick break. But we're certainly interested to hear your thoughts on how things went last night. 901-260-5926 our telephone number that's 901-260-5926 and by the way if you do want to try out our great great coffee sponsor check out wired2fishcoffee.com that's wired2fishcoffee.com and you'll understand why my tweets were a little spicy and dare I say caffeinated last night we'll be right back all right welcome back to the town starts radio show let's go to salem oregon canthie is listening to us on kykn canthie what'd you think about president trump's speech I was so filled with pride. I just, it was like no other speech I've ever heard from either party. I usually don't make it through an entire speech like that, but I did.
I was riveted. But what kept coming to mind was it was so positive and upbeat. I kept thinking back to that speech that Biden gave in that in Independence Hall with the red background and the soldiers in the back oh yeah the Darth yeah Darth Brandon speech yeah yeah it was I mean such a contrast and I hope everybody remembers that well I do too you know Kathy that is a great thing and by the way that's literally the opening I went back and described the events of that night in the opening chapter of my book, Twilight's Last Gleaming, Darth Brandon and the Temple of Doom. That was the name of the chapter because it was just so, so creepy. And you're right.
You look at such a dark and dystopian future that Biden was painting for America, and along comes Donald Trump, and it's like morning in America, guys.
So, Kathy, it's a great observation. Thank you for calling in. I want to go to our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line, one of the busiest guys in D.C. I think it's because of us, too. Josh Jones, great Republican strategist, joins us.
Josh, good to have you with us today. Great to be on, Todd. How are you? All right.
So let's talk about last night. I mean, you're the expert here. What do you think about President Trump's address? I mean, I think President Trump's address did exactly what it needed to do. It showcased their decisive leadership, the president's decisive leadership so far, only not even two months into his administration.
And on top of that, I mean, the Democrats put up an absolutely pathetic response, both in the taped response and in the chamber itself, from the disruptions to the bingo card signs. I mean, the Democrats are in total disarray. Their messaging is all over the place. And I think that showcased last night, and President Trump gave a very powerful speech about his agenda for the next four years. Speaking of that, I thought it was funny that MSDNC, even they were upset about those bingo signs.
Cut number four, please. I didn't go stash it back, Michael, when they holding up bingo or auction signs. I was going to say, well, thank you, Simone. Can we talk about it? The bingo signs were killing me.
I don't know who's thought of the bingo signs, but they should be fired. Michael, this is an indictment, in my opinion, on the Democratic leadership. You know, my question, Josh, what leadership? I mean, the Democrats were all over the place last night. I mean, you're 100 percent correct.
From the congressman being thrown out at the beginning from his yelling fit to the bingo cards. There's some people walking out there in the middle of it. I mean, I thought the worst thing the Democrats were going to do was some of their members skipping the speech. but it turns out more of them should have skipped this speech. That would have been less of a political hit on them.
No, it's true. Look, I want to bring in Ben Dieter for just a moment, because Dieter, I've got a question for both of you guys.
So Jasmine Crockett, just as foul-mouthed as could have been last night, I mean, the words coming out of her mouth were just so grossly inappropriate and offensive. But I'm wondering, is that Josh and Ben, is that a – and Ben, I'm going to start with you, But do they think that's going to be appealing to younger voters? I mean, why take that road?
Well, it's interesting because apparently House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries was shushing them down. Like, he knew it wasn't a good look. He knew that what we saw with the CBS polling this morning, 78% of Americans approved of the speech, that it was going to be poor taste and terrible optics, which is why they went with Senator Slotkin to give the response. You might not like her. You may have found her to be filled with lies and inaccuracies, but she was a moderate, and they chose her for a reason, unlike the squad, which, how long, Josh, were they there?
40 minutes, and they all stormed out the back doors? Yeah, I mean, they were there, like, for 40 minutes, stormed out there in the middle of it. And like you said, Hakeem Jeffries was shushing them, trying to control them. I mean, say what you will about Nancy Pelosi and her politics, but at least she kept her caucus in line. Joaquin Jeffries seems that his house coccasers can just do whatever they want, and he can't give them any instruction.
As a matter of fact, here is Scott Jennings on CNN last night giving a recap. Cut 24. This was a horrific night for the opposition party, regardless of how well she just spoke. It started out with Al Green getting thrown off the House floor because he couldn't keep his emotions under control. Then they had the ridiculous paddles, which now social media is roasting.
That you said false on one side and Elon on the other. And then finally, and maybe most terribly, the Democrats who couldn't find it in their heart to stand for objectively good things, including the 95-year-old mother of Mark Fogle, who got rescued from a Russian prison, and they couldn't even stand up for that. I thought Democrats came into this speech lost and defeated by Donald Trump. And today it looks to me like they're even more lost and even more defeated than when this speech started. Here's what I want to know, Josh.
Was there a meeting? Did the Democrats get together in a back room and say, okay, when the black cancer survivor pops up, we're all going to, like, just sit there and scowl? I mean, who thought that was a good idea? I mean, that's a great question. I don't know if they had a caucus meeting before.
If they did, either they didn't get the memo. but I mean the Democrats just absolutely like objectively good things that some of these special guests that you know acknowledging acknowledged by the president and like you said they just sat there and scoured so from I mean just you know morals aside from an optics standpoint it's awful so I don't know what the Democrats were thinking heading into the speech but clearly coming out of it they still don't know what they're thinking when you because you work a lot with candidates people that are maybe first time running for office or whatever. And do you guys give them guidance on how to handle issues? Because there are some moments when it is okay for a Republican to applaud or a Democrat to applaud. Do you guys work through that with candidates?
Absolutely. I mean, that's politics 101. I mean, at the end of the day, as Americans, we do agree on more than we disagree on. Obviously, you're going to have those disagreements with the opposition party, and even sometimes in your own party. But one of the messaging or just, like, guidances we give the candidates is, like, it is okay to agree with the other side when it is objectively a good thing.
And, I mean, like I said, that's politics 101. Democrats didn't get that memo, apparently.
So you saw what happened last night. Wow. What a mess. What a mess. But certainly, it was like a great night for Donald Trump.
The polling data looks great. What is it that needs to happen now? We're right back to work today. We've got a lot of big issues facing the nation within Congress. What advice do you give the Republicans?
I mean, next steps historically after State of the Union's or joint addresses to Congress, the president typically hits the road to tout his message across the country. President Trump decided to stay in D.C. and continue the work of the people to stay in the White House and get things done while the vice president is on the road being his messenger.
So I think the message to Republicans, both in the executive branch and also in Congress, is, all right, it's time to put the boots on and get to work. it's time for Trump's administration to work with Congress to get these changes that they're trying to implement and some of these executive orders that they've signed into legislation and actually get it signed into law.
So that's the next step for Republicans across the board, and that's what everybody should be focused on right now. By the way, guys, did you see Elon last night? The dude was wearing a suit. That's true. That's true.
I actually did kind of do a double take during the speech. What was your thoughts on the Democrat rebuttal there at the end? Did the senator out of Michigan strike the right tone there? How would you grade her performance, Josh? I mean, I think overall she's one of the better messengers that the Democrats could have picked.
I think number one is telling they picked someone from the Senate rather than the House caucus. And number two, it's from a state that Trump won, Michigan, but she won her Senate seat there.
So she strikes a moderate tone. She has a pill to some of the voters who split their ticket and voted for Trump and ended up voting for her.
So overall, I think as far as responses to State of the Union go, and that's a very hard thing to do is to respond to State of the Union, whether you're Republican or Democrat. Overall, I thought she got a passing grade. You guys remember, y'all may be, wow, I can't believe I'm about to say this. You may have been too young to remember this, guys, but Bobby Jindal, when he was governor of Louisiana, and he was picked, and they thought he was like presidential material. He did a speed read through the rebuttal, and it pretty much deep-sixed his entire political career.
You guys remember that? No, I don't. Oh, geez. No, I don't. Sorry to date you, Chad.
I'm sure a lot of your listeners remember it very well. I'll Google it and watch it on YouTube. But to your point, who was the governor? Josh, you're going to know this. the governor of Virginia, the one that got in trouble, but he was being looked at before, this is before Youngkin, he was being looked at, what was that guy's name?
He has a presidential contender. McDonald, yes. He actually gave a great, but the way he did it was he assembled an audience in the state house there in Virginia, and I thought it was really well done. It's unfortunate things didn't turn out well for him, but anyway. I mean, that was a good response, though.
I said, unfortunate how things ended out. But, I mean, in terms of responses, great response. Indeed. All right, Josh, great job, and we enjoyed having you on the Newsmax show last night. Great intel, great insight.
Appreciate you. Thanks, Todd. All right, Josh Jones. And he represents a lot of candidates. He does a lot of traveling around the country working with candidates and Republican candidates and getting them media savvy.
Do you think that President Trump brought some of those guests in there knowing that the Democrats had such Trump derangement syndrome that the optics he kind of knew, and he was baiting them just a little bit. He was getting involved with the interactions, the screaming, the yelling, the protesting. Do you think this was planned? No doubt about it. And the reason why is their policies were the reason those people were there.
They have nobody else to blame but themselves. I heard that the folks that were actually there, we had Congressman John Rose on the morning show, and he was saying being there in the chamber, it was difficult to actually hear the president. We're lucky at home. We watched it on television. We just heard it through the microphone.
He said the president's ability to be laser focused through the raucous, it was almost impossible to hear. The acoustics in there are not great anyway. And I was years ago, Congressman Jody Heiss invited me to be his guest of honor in the gallery. What president? it it's trump oh nice and it was great but i was the only person i was in a in a cluster of democrats and i didn't realize that until the first thing that trump said and i stood up and i realized i'm the only person standing in my area so i felt obligated to hoot and holler even louder there was also an illegal in my yeah seated right below me and i pointed that out an illegal immigrant sitting there oh yeah one of the dreamers yeah one of the dreamers got invited i'm like what you couldn't find a law-abiding American taxpayer?
Apparently not. You've got to go bring an illegal in here? Gosh. I'm telling you. All right, we've got to take a quick break here, folks.

Welcome back, everybody. Don't forget, 5 o'clock Eastern, the Todd Stern Show on Newsmax. Let's go to the phone. St. Louis KVMO Cardidrian joins us.
What's on your mind today? Hi, Mr. Starr. This is Cardidrian. I called in last week.
I live in Dallas, but I'm a truck driver, so I move around a little bit fairly often. I'm in St. Louis today. I'm lucky I found you on the radio. I apologize for being so late in the show.
But real quick, Ms. Jasmine Crockett, so she, let me get this straight. I missed this speech. I didn't watch Donald Trump's speech last night.
So she was there, and she talked about some things afterwards. Is that what she got interviewed about? Yeah, before and afterwards. Yeah, pretty foul-mouthed.
Okay. So, look, I'm going to try to explain this the best I can to kind of, you know, look, I'm from the hood. I'll admit, I'm from Orange Mound. Orange Mound, remember the originally, okay? I'm a working man.
I'm an average Joe, but I'm a good person. I don't rob. I don't steal. I do the best I can to stay on the right side of the law, keep my nose clean, right? But here's the thing, though.
You've got somebody like her who's a United States representative, and she grew up, you know, allegedly in this kind of affluent lifestyle going to these real expensive schools and colleges like you brought up before. But look, she gets to that level, that high up in the level of government on the Democrat Party. And what's she doing? She acting all ghetto. She's going to act like she's from Orange Mound.
No.
So what I'm trying to say is, if that's how you're going to act and speak on national television and on the Internet, no. You don't belong there. If you get that kind of position and that kind of power and influence, you don't deserve. No, if that's how you're going to act and speak, you don't deserve to be there. You need to be down.
That lady, Jasmine, could be down on my level. She needs to be out here on these streets and working and just being a regular tax-paying person. It just ticks me off because you've got some young people, you've got some young black Americans that are looking up to her, per se, and she's going to carry herself in that manner. See, that sends the wrong message. Oh, I could be a congresswoman, too, and I can act like that?
No.
that ticks me off you see we've got a guy uh cardeed and we've got a guy in in memphis who's going to be running for congress and he's the same way went to a super wealthy school um and talks whiter than i do in real life but when he is back home in orange mound he talks just like jasmine crockett and i'm like you know what i'm sorry your phony is a two dollar but this is insane i mean it's just uh you know and talking about we need reparations we need reparations because we built it i don't want to hear that mess we don't know what we need is fathers in the home that's what the black community fathers and mothers in the home that's a traditional family and we don't need we don't need gangs we need to get ready you know president trump i'm talking about uh classifying the cartel as a terrorist and try to get that on a different level of you know things that they can start going after. Hey, I say go after the gangs too. The Crips, the Bloods, I don't care. Get rid of them too. Yeah, well said.
We don't need reparations. We just need safer communities and fathers and mothers in the home. We don't need equity. We don't need to be pandered to. We don't need to be dumbing down the classroom.
All this critical race theory. I've been on Mr. Starr for several months now. I listen to podcasts. I do some reading.
I know I don't talk. You know, I'll admit it. I got some Ebonics. I understand that. But I still cannot go along with what people like Ms.
Crockett are doing. And I had most other Democrats, too, all the people on MSNBC. And nothing wrong with Ebonics, Cardidrian. Look, I talk Southern. A lot of stuff we say has to be interpreted for our friends north of the Mason-Dixon line.
But the reality is you're authentic. You're real. You're genuine. And that's what matters. And people like Jasmine Crockett's of the world, they're not being authentic.
They're trying to create some sort of political theater, and that's just unacceptable. Gerdedrine, you've got to give us a holler back. We are coming up on the end of the show here. But, man, it is great hearing from you. Safe travels, and enjoy St.
Louis. He gets around a lot, so there you go. All right, folks. Wow, great day, great show. We're going to keep the conversation going.
We have a jam-packed program for you. coming up on Newsmax tonight and calling up our list here. We've got Congressman Mike Collins from Georgia. We have Congressman Andy Harris, who is the chair of the House Freedom Caucus. He's going to be here.
Also, Beau French, who is the chairman of the Texas Republican Party out of Fort Worth, will be joining us as well.
