Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starz. Shatter. That's right. I love this American ride. Oh, yeah.

Christians are gathered at our nation's capital. Lord knows we need that. And we're going to be having some great conversations with some great guests throughout the afternoon as we broadcast from our location here on beautiful Media Row here at the lovely Omni Shorem Hotel. Folks, it is also Open Line Friday, and that means that you get to call in and talk about whatever you want to talk about today. Lydia is standing by to take your calls.

Write down our telephone number. You will need this: 901-260-5926. That's 901260. 260-5926.

So, again, a lot of ground to cover today. By the way, just getting word that Elon Musk is going to be attending President Trump's rally tomorrow in Butler County, Pennsylvania, going back to the scene of the crime where a far leftist shot and nearly killed our president, Donald J. Trump.

So, we're going to be talking about that a little bit later. But again, the news coming out: Elon Musk is going to be in attendance at tomorrow's big rally. Of course, you'll be able to watch that on newsmax.com. But I want to start today with this. Developing story involving the southern states.

And ladies and gentlemen, it is just incredibly offensive and appalling. The behavior of the Biden Administration. And I will say this. And I'm going to say this a lot. There's a time for you to be righteously indignant, and now is one of those times.

According to Vice President Kamala Harris, your life is worth $750. That's it. Not a penny more. Your life is worth seven hundred fifty dollars.

Now the Vice President came out and announced a one time check For the people devastated by Hurricane Halleen. Understand this. Their homes are gone. The roads and the bridges are washed away. They're finding bodies in the mud, in trees.

There are reports of children wandering around in the woods, in the wilderness without any clothes on, looking for their parents. This is a modern-day apocalypse. And we know the death toll well over 200, from my understanding. And I'm being told, I was talking to some guys who were in law enforcement in North Carolina, and they're telling me the final number, if we even know what that final number is going to be, is going to be just. Beyond staggering.

This could be one of the deadliest, and it could surpass the numbers of deaths in Hurricane Katrina. But the only thing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris could do is offer the survivors $750. They're not even offering a thought or a prayer. That's it. They're giving you cash, and that's it.

Well, now we're getting reports, boots on the ground, that people are going online and they're trying to apply for the $750. And they're being denied. They're being told that they do not qualify to get this money.

So, this is one of those moments, ladies and gentlemen, where it's okay to be outraged. It is okay to be enraged. Nearly one week later. And the federal disaster response has been nothing short of treasonous, and I want to explain that to you. Joe Biden has a responsibility.

Kamala Harris, they have responsibilities. They put their hands on the Bible. They took an oath. They swore an oath to protect this country. And they're not living up to that obligation.

I mean, it's very clear. And now people are beginning to step back. And I mean, we are hearing so many reports now. It's overwhelming the number of reports we are hearing from volunteers who are being told by government agents: your help is not needed, your help is not wanted. We told you about the helicopter pilot from South Carolina.

Who actually was flying out people who were trapped? And he was told, You do that again, we're going to arrest you. You've got the Transportation Secretary, Pete Pootie Juice, and he is out there telling all of the drones: do not operate a drone. You cannot send. And the reason they're using drones, they're literally taking the drones, and they're sending the drones loaded with supplies, baby formula, other things, medicines, and they're flying those drones up into the mountainous communities.

Right now, there are pack mules that are traversing the mountains, what's left of the mountain roadways and the trails, and they're literally delivering things like insulin and ice to people who cannot get down the mountain because there are no roads. That that there's just nothing there.

So I'll see you.

Now John Rich, who is a regular guest on this program. John Rich is a good and decent guy saying this on Twitter. He said, I just spoke to a friend of mine in law enforcement, North Carolina. He said that they have, and I quote, already used over 500 body bags. There are bodies in trees, mud, cars, houses everywhere.

No federal support whatsoever. We talked on Newsmax TV to the mayor of Blowing Rock, North Carolina. He has yet to see a single person from the federal government. And one of the reasons why, and if you remember a couple of days ago, what was it? President Biden said that there was nothing more that they could do for the people of the southeastern states.

Congressman Corey Mills is leading a full volunteer effort to, I mean, they have sent thousands of pounds of supplies to North Carolina. Congressman Mills says that this is nothing more, the response is nothing more. Then Irresponsible and inept. That's what he's saying.

So the question is why? Why is all of this happening?

Well, I'm going to tell you why. The Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who should have been fired a long time ago by those Republicans on Capitol Hill, led by Speaker Mike Johnson. Maorca says FEMA's broke. They got no more money. They don't have any more money.

They don't know what to do. In other words, the American people are literally on their They're on their own here. That's it. You folks are on your own. Because it turns out that the money meant for FEMA's emergency food and shelter program has literally now been siphoned off.

Hundreds of millions of dollars. We're talking about a billion dollars here, ladies and gentlemen, that's been given to the illegal aliens. These are your tax dollars. that are basically funding an illegal immigration and resettlement program. More than a billion dollars, but the Americans in North Carolina and Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, you guys getting $750.

That's it. 'Cause I got no more money. Yeah. I ask you, are you outraged American? Are you outraged?

Illegals first, American taxpayers last. $175 billion for Ukraine so far, only $750 for American citizens. Are you outraged, America? Ladies and gentlemen, are you a little miffed? Does that number stick in your craw?

I'm just asking here. Are you outraged? Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. Said And he's really upset because I guess they forgot to include many rural counties in the. Federal Disaster Relief Declaration.

And you know why? It's because they don't care about you. They do not care about you. That's it. They just don't care.

And I'll get into more of that in just a moment. I want to go to the phone lines. We have a gentleman by the name of Terry. Calling in from Bat Cave, North Carolina. I know exactly where Bat Cave is.

Many of you on your way to the Cove or Ridgecrest, you stop and you get a photograph of the Bat Cave sign. On the interstate Terry, first of all, thank you for calling in. I understand you're listening on our X Live feed. What can you tell us about conditions there in Batcave? I'm not in that cave anymore because we had to evacuate, but it's decimated.

It's awful. But then the authorities They start asking you questions when you go to look for help. And it seems that if they think you're like a Trump supporter or a MAGA person, They tell you you're not getting $750. you're only getting $75. But if you're from Asheville, you know, which is very democratic.

They'll do whatever. You want whatever you want, they'll help you out with. Terry, where where is this happening at? I have I haven't heard anything about this. I've heard a lot of horror horror stories about people in general not getting any aid.

But you're telling me has this happened to you personally? Are you hearing this from friends or other people? With this call all right, thank you.

So, this is the problem with people like Terry. And again, we have these people, and these folks are predators. Many of them have allegations against them of very horrible things, and they like to call in and they make these accusations on national shows.

So, anyway, our apologies there, ladies and gentlemen. We're going to take a quick break here: 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. Folks, hang on tight because we're heading into one of the most critical elections this nation's ever seen.

Let's be honest, there's no guarantee it's going to go your way. We've already seen how far the radical left will go to push their agenda. If Kamala Harris takes the White House, you can expect more government control, higher taxes, and a full-blown assault on your freedoms. The stakes could not be higher. You need to make it a priority to shield yourself.

We are broadcasting from Media Row here in Washington, D.C. at the Pray, Vote, Stand Conference, broadcasting across America. 172 radio stations now broadcasting this show, and we're happy to have all of you guys along for the ride today. Look, by the way, write this telephone number down. You will need this if you want to call in today, open line Friday, 901-260-5926.

That's 901-260-5926. We are very honored to have a great special guest with us, believe it or not, from back home in South Haven, Mississippi. That's right. Bishop Vincent Matthews from the Church of God in Christ, our good friends. And first of all, welcome to Washington.

Thank you, Todd. It's an honor to be here with you. Wow, I'm curious to hear your message. I know you've been very involved in Family Research Council. What is your message to the Christian voters here at this conference?

Yeah, and by the way, our church is Tabernacle, Church of God in Christ. I appreciate that. It is an honor to be here today, and I think my greatest message is God is not surprised by the darkness that we see. God is not throwing his hands up, losing hope, and that we ultimately have victory through Christ. We must stand firm and seek for boldness in this dark time.

And when you talk about dark times, you and I are both from the Memphis area, and we have certainly seen our fair share of violence in our city. What is the message to voters who just they're voting Democrat no matter what, but elections do have consequences? Yeah, you know, interesting thing, I'm an independent, right?

So I don't align, but I make sure whoever I vote for must align with my biblical values. And so it's very important not to side with the Disinformation of this time.

Now, that term is used, but it's not used in a proper way. We have demonic disinformation at this time, so it's very important for us to stand firm upon biblical values. There have been a lot of polls out there. The information seems to indicate a lot of, especially young black men in America, are supporting President Trump, this go-around. What do you make of that?

Are you seeing people being dis, you know, just maybe. disenfranchised by the Democrat Party? I think well, what has happened is the things that we're seeing, especially in the last uh few years, certainly are against the pale. We're being uh duped to believe that Rights means anti-reproduction, gender-affirming health care is exactly not that. All kinds of wickedness, all kinds of things that are being pushed, and people are saying enough is enough.

And a man is a priest provider and protector of their home. You can't allow these things to happen to our home. You know, it's interesting you say that because there's a big battle back in Memphis about the war on gun. We got to get the guns, and if we get the guns, you know, we'll solve all the problems. We've got to build more community centers.

What about the family? That's right. Isn't that where? We really need to be focusing our efforts. Take all the guns, we'll beat each other to death with clubs.

The bottom line is: before there was ever a church, God instituted family. And when we see that fatherlessness is our huge issue, the erosion of the family is a huge issue, and we see these radical agendas coming against family, that is very antithetical to the biblical text. What are the big issues? You talked to your congregation there in South Haven, Mississippi, which is right across the state line. What are some of the issues that you're hearing, the concerns people have?

Well, I mentioned sexuality, the things against sexuality were anti-hard work, that many people are not accountable for the things that they should be accountable for. We see the erosion of right, the cultural relativism. There's no right or wrong. And so when people start to see these things and see that that sexuality issue is destroying husbands, wives, the nuclear family is not. Just some paternalistic oppression against women.

It is something that supports men, women, and their children. You know, there is a lot of talk in the Christian circle about churches disengaging. We shouldn't be involved in politics. We shouldn't be involved in the public square. Where do you fall into that?

That's demonic. Where do we see that in the Bible? Jesus Himself was engaged in the public square. The prophets before him, the apostles after him. Why would you be a church?

We're not called to be motivational speakers, life coaches, or businessmen. We're called to be preachers of the gospel. And true preaching is observation, interpretation, but biblical application to what we face and what we deal with every day. I think the test in all of this is if we put that into practice, imagine what could happen, the transformation that could happen in a place like Memphis. Yes.

And so that at the water cooler, we're able to engage because the preacher on Sunday equipped us to engage on Monday in the public square. Square.

However, this cognitive dissidence, we have mad people walking around believing one thing and acting another. They believe in two mutually exclusive things at the same time.

So you're right. Memphis would transform, and this nation would be what God wants it to be. I love it. Then we'd be able to go to like Kroger and Superlow without having to worry about our cars getting stolen. That's all I want.

I got the low-hanging fruit. All right. Bishop, we have to leave it there.

Well, welcome to the show. We'd love to get you back in studio back to you. To be honest. And again, folks, if you're looking for a good church. Tabernacle South Haven, 7701 US 51, just north of Goodman.

I love it. All right, folks. Again, just some of the incredible speakers and guests that are here at the Pray Vote Stand Summit. We're going to be bringing all of those to you throughout the afternoon here on the program. Tomorrow, I'll be delivering a speech tomorrow morning, and I'm looking forward to that as well.

I'm looking forward to it awesome. Bishop, thank you very much. Thank you, Todd. Thank you for having me. All right, hang tight, everybody.

More coming up from Washington, D.C. And welcome back, everybody. This is the Todd Sturge Radio Show. We are broadcasting from beautiful Media Row at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. at the Pray Vote Stand Summit.

Our good friend, the president of Family Research Council, Tony Perkins, dropping by. Tony, you throw a pretty good shindig over here.

Well, Todd, we're glad you're here because the party wouldn't be complete without you. This is true. It's. I've been working, I've been polishing up my speech for tomorrow. I think it's going to be good.

And it's really interesting because there's a whole different vibe. That seems to be the buzzword this political season. What's going on here, and why is this conference a little different than the old Values Voters Summit?

Well, it's much different. As we've seen. What's been happening in our country, there's I think a growing Understanding among what we call the sage cons, the spiritually active, governance-engaged conservatives, that the election is not going to solve our problems. It could make it a lot worse. It's not going to solve it because our problems really are spiritual.

As a nation, we've lost our way, we've moved away from God, rejected His truth, and we've got to return to that. And this is what this conference, Pray Vote Stand, this summit is focused on: a lot of prayer, an understanding that this is a huge challenge before us. And it's up to the church, it's up to followers of Jesus Christ to really lean in in our faith and live it out. Our good buddy Mike Huckabee was a speaker last night and kicked things off. And I love the message he had for Christians.

We've seen the My Faith Votes stats. What, 20 million Christians registered but did not vote? 15 million not even registered. Imagine what would happen, Tony, if all of those people actually went out and voted on Election Day. Uh we would be living in a different country.

We would be living in a country where our children are not being indoctrinated with a radical ideology that would lead them down the path of mutilating their bodies and taking experimental drugs. We would be in a country where religious freedom is not harassed and suppressed, but celebrated. Where free speech is not something that the government censors, but something that it protects.

So there's a big difference. And elections do have consequences. And I've looked at polling data that George Barna has done just in the last few weeks, in the month of September. That would suggest that the percentage of turnout among evangelicals, the faithful registered evangelicals, is actually. Dropped back to what it was in 2012 and 2008 when we had McCain and Romney on the ballot.

The Trump team has hurt themselves a lot with their muddled message on life and what they did to the party platform and the convention. They really have hurt themselves. But that said, Todd, that is not an excuse not to vote because there's still a contrast between the two parties.

Now, we may not be as excited about it. I'm certainly not as excited as I was in 2016. But I will tell you, we're doing everything we can to educate voters on the contrast between the two parties. And as Christians, you know, as Americans, we have a right to vote. As Christians, we have a responsibility to vote.

And this is where I am concerned. It's the enthusiasm gap. That's what it is. And it's a problem. And this goes back to not just Trump, but the Republican Party as a whole, and that very ugly fight over the platform.

And it really wasn't even a fight. I was going to say, I was going to say, there wasn't a fight. It wasn't even a fight. It was more of a chokedown because we weren't even allowed to speak. Marcia Blackburn, senator of the state of Tennessee, a conservative state, she was the one that chaired it.

And I was there. I was a delegate. I was elected by the people of my home state to be there to represent them. And I didn't even get a chance to speak. No one got a chance to speak.

The process that normally takes three days took less than three hours, and it was rammed through. Not a single debate, not a single amendment. And the whole platform, 40 years' worth of work, is gone. It's troubling. And, folks, I want you to hear me on this.

And I'll be saying this tomorrow in my remarks. There are very few people that are standing by their principles in this town, in Washington. Tony Perkins is one of those guys who stands by his principles, and he has been faithful to the mission of Family Research Council. And Tony, I know that's been hard, and I know you're taking a lot of hits on it, but I appreciate you. And I tell people all the time: I mean, thank God for Tony Perkins, because you're standing firm in the faith, and we need more people like you here in this city.

Well, that's very kind of you, Todd. I appreciate that. People need to know. I was never invol really cared much for politics. I was a police officer.

That's what I did. I I was in the Marine Corps. I was a police officer, worked in anti-terrorism. But the Lord called me into the the political arena over the life issue. I I left law enforcement.

Over that issue of life. It's why I was in the state legislature, passed some of the nation's first pro-life legislation. The life issue is not just a issue. It really is the issue. Right.

Because what we're recognizing, either God is Creator and life is precious or it's not, and He is not the Creator. We take that role for ourselves. And when we go down that path, it is not a good outcome.

So what do we need to do to get those 20 million voters to the poll on Election Day?

Well, I think, number one, we have a resource available for them. In fact, folks can get the toolkit. We have a toolkit. They can text Toolkit to 67742. That's Toolkit to 67742.

And we've got voter guides. You've got a personalized voter guide that will show you the different candidates on your ballot based upon your zip code. But also, we have comparisons of the two party platforms.

Now, the difference is not as great as it was in 2016 when we had a really good party platform, but there's still a contrast. There's still a contrast. And so according to George Barn, the polling I mentioned a moment ago, the survey he did, two of the top reasons that, three of the top reasons, that people are saying, evangelicals saying they're not going to vote is, number one, they feel like their vote is not going to be counted. That the voting irregularities that took place in 2020, the fraudulent. Fraudulent activity would keep their vote from being counted.

Over half the states have addressed many of those issues. That should not be a reason not to vote. In fact, what it should do is motivate us to get more people to vote so that we overcome any of the fraudulent activity. The second is they don't feel like their vote will matter. That their vote will not matter.

Do you know, Todd, they're going to be ⁇ this is a prediction. And it's based upon past performance. There will be some congressional districts that will be decided by probably less than 100 votes. Wow. And that will determine control of the United States House of Representatives.

So your one vote will matter.

So we need to vote. We need to be educated on who is on the ballot, where they stand on the issues. And we've done a lot of that work. That's why you can get the toolkit at 67742.

So text 67742. The word toolkit, you'll get the stand firm app, and on that app is all of those voter resources. And the way I'm framing this in my mind, because I was just as upset as you were, well, you were really upset and rightfully so. I wasn't there, but it was really troublesome to see what they did with that party platform. But I see right now we've got to stop these Marxists.

Yes. And there is something very dangerous that's about to happen in this country. It's like I said. This election will not save the country, but it could destroy it.

So I'm not pinning my hopes in the Republican Party, but I certainly know that those that are running in the Democratic Party and the policies that they have been pushing will destroy this country, take our freedoms away. We're going to be able to fight that fight another day with the party party. Yes, we will. We're not going anywhere. We're not going anywhere.

Yeah, and I don't think we should look. I think right now the party is going through an identity crisis, maybe a midlife crisis. Could be. We need a little intervention here. A little intervention.

The folks here, I mean, you've got well over 1,000 people that are here. What are you hearing from the folks coming in, and where are they coming from? What's that? They're coming from everywhere, all across the country, sage cons, spiritually active, governance-engaged conservatives that care about this country, concerned about their kids, their grandkids. And they're not going to give up on this country.

I mean, are things the way we would like to see them within the Republican Party? No, they're not. But what does that mean? We work harder. Here's the thing.

And I realized this a number of years ago. We used to think we'll just show up for the emergency and then we can go back to life as usual. This is life as usual. It is what Ephesians 6 says when Paul is talking about you put on the whole armor of God, and then having done everything, you stand. And then when you get when after you stand, you just keep standing.

That is our role, is to stand for truth and righteousness and the culture in the country. That's being salt and light. And we're committed to doing that, and we're raising up folks all across this country, encouraging them. That's what you hear, Todd: are stories of those who are standing. You've seen that on the stage even today, which motivates others to take a stand.

Courage breeds courage. And I heard Dr. Ben Carson was speaking earlier today, so it's really, and Speaker Mike Johnson did a Zoom call. All right. Tony Perkins, I know you're a busy guy, so we're going to let you get back to it.

Again, text 67-742 the word toolkit, and you're going to be able to get that information. Tony, always good seeing you. Todd, time always well spent with you. All right, folks, heads up. We're going right to the phones.

Here at the Pre-Vote Stand Conference in Washington, D.C., Governor Mike Huckabee spoke last night, Ben Carson today. I'll be delivering remarks tomorrow. But right now, as promised, I want to go right to the phone lines. Let's say hello to Fred in Ealy, Nevada, K-E-L-Y, our great affiliate out there. Hi, Fred, what's on your mind?

Okay. I appreciate you taking my call. I just want to know your thoughts and comments. I had a thought That's With all this disaster in the southern states, which some of them are swing states, Won't it Uh action by the Biden-Harris administration kind of turn some of the Um undecided voters over to Trump because he has shown more interest in helping these people out. Fred, that's a terrific question.

And honestly, I was just thinking about this last night, that maybe Trump ought to I know we're spending a lot of time in battleground states, but maybe North Carolina and the southern states well, we know where Florida is going, but North Carolina and Georgia are indeed battleground states. Maybe the President Trump needs to spend more time there because I think there's a lot of outrage, and especially among Democrats or rather independent voters who see the government turning a blind eye to the suffering of the people there in North Carolina.

So I don't know. That could be a good strategy. But, Fred, the other problem here is how are these people going to get out and vote on Election Day? Because that entire region of western North Carolina is rock-solid red Republican.

Well I just hope that uh the American people understand what this administration is doing. And how poor Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've been a Trump supporter ever since he started back in twenty sixteen. or twenty fifteen, but He has shown more leadership and strength And all those yo-yo's that they got there in Washington DC, you know. And I'd like to give a shout out to Wyatt Cox.

All right. Well, you just did, Fred, and I appreciate the call. And thanks for listening to us here in beautiful Ely, Nevada. That's Wyatt Cox country out there.

So we love our friend Wyatt. Let's go to Georgia, Andrew, listening to us on WDUN. Hi, Andrew. What's on your mind? Ay Todd, good afternoon, and absolutely thoughts and prayers for all the people from Augusta all the way up to North Carolina and, of course, for our country, the United States of America as well.

Well said, Andrew. Yes, sir. I need to call and ask your help today because Gangel is There's a lot of people in Northeast Georgia that is strong supporters And very much a red region.

However, I'm a little bit concerned, Todd. The last three weeks in particular, there's been a lot of radio commercials and And we're excited that President Trump is in Georgia today.

However, I almost feel like a lot of people are letting their guard down. And getting complacent. And of course, in today's world, with this election being so serious, we don't every vote is critical and every person matters. And And it is just So important not to uh get complacent because One vote really may be The one that that makes the in the impact serious, you know. But um What I was really concerned about is I'm hearing almost a 10 to 0 ratio on a lot of the radio commercials in the Atlanta market.

And he's And it's all Kamala Harris. And he is literally getting on there saying Vote for me. I'm a nice person. But the one thing that's really scary and really troubling and Almost feels uh deceptive as she is blatantly saying I'm going to make the middle class better by cracking down. But what is she saying she's going to crack down?

She says price gallium. And that is a red flag saying, oh my goodness, She's literally admitting more government regulation and All this liberal stuff that that she has. And I'm just afraid that she's saying it in such a nice tone of voice. That um People are hearing it and kinda letting the guard down.

So definitely wanted to ask your help saying please Please don't let your guard down and And hopefully Keep America America. Yeah, and so and to be clear here, you're right. I mean, they basically put lipstick on a Marxist and uh put her in a pantsuit, and and that's what we've got there. I want to circle back, though. You're telling me that you're not hearing any Trump radio ads.

Is that what you're saying, Andrew? There's been a couple that have been other parts, like other people, like Make America Great again. Right. And there's been a couple. talking about the border security more on the national front.

it's alarming at the the rate, and I'm not talking about just the rap channels in Atlanta. I'm talking like the country channels where it's the heart of Athens all the way up to South Carolina. There is complexity. Commercials, but there's almost zero with Donald Trump's voice specifically saying, I'm Donald Trump. I tuck a bullet for this nation.

I'm here for you. America, vote for me. Wow, Andrew, that would be a great ad. What you just said would be a terrific ad. You know, I'm going to tell you, I own a news talk station in Memphis, Tennessee, KWAM, and I am telling you we're dealing with the same situation there.

No Trump ads at all, hearing a lot of Kamala Harris ads in the market. And I'm curious, and we'll open this up to our other, you know, we've got 172 radio stations that carry this show. I'm curious, are you guys hearing any Trump radio ads? And Andrew, it's a fair point. Right now, Trump needs to be blanketing everything.

It needs to be all Trump all the time. And people need to hear and be reminded, short-term memory that a lot of voters have. They need to be reminded of. The fact that Donald Trump, as you just said, took a bullet for this country, Andrew. Yes, sir, absolutely.

And there may be some things floating around that hasn't been put on the air, but what's really concerning is the last three weeks, it's been almost zero presence. And it's go time, it's sprint to the finish line. And I would love to hear Donald Trump actually come on and say, state of Georgia. I'm here for you. Vote for me now.

Well said. Andrew, great call, and thank you for listening. Folks, I'm curious: are you experiencing the same thing that Andrew is there in Georgia? Our telephone number is 901-260-5926. We're going to be taking your calls right after the break.

Todd Starns. And hello, America. Welcome to the Tom Stearns Radio Program. We are broadcasting live today from our nation's capital, Washington, D.C., on Media Row here at the beautiful OmniShoreham Hotel. That is the location of a huge national gathering of people of faith, Christian voters from all over the country gathered here for the Pray Vote Stand Summit brought to you by our good friends at Family Research Council.

We've got a lot going on this hour of the program, and you've heard from some great guest speakers already. You will also have an opportunity to call in. It is Friday, and it's always Open Line Friday, so you can call in, talk about whatever you want to talk about today. Just write down our telephone number, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

Yeah. Very honored to have a great friend, an incredible author, broadcaster, podcaster, Sandy Rios. Yeah, Pop. We're next door neighbors here on Media Row. I know.

Could you be a little more quiet over here? You're kind of disrupting my mojo over there when I'm trying to interview people.

Well, you know, the Christian community, yeah, they're all soft-spoken on the radio side. I'm like, what's up with that? You know, actually, when I've been on Radio Rose of the years, you're not like this. I accused you of something you're not guilty of, but there is a couple of hosts who have such incredibly loud voices. You could hear them for miles.

And they were bleeding through. I had seriously trouble. I remember they had to put a partition between me and one of the one year because I couldn't hear myself. Anyway.

So, look, by the way, how's the book going? I mean, the last time we had you on the show, you had just debuted your book, and I think we had you on the Newsmax show. Yes, you did. God's Velvet Hammer. It's going well.

It's now on Audible. I was able to... Did you read your own book? I did read it. I just read it.

I read it. That was quiet. You read your own book. Yeah, I read, yes, for Audible. I mean, I didn't read it.

I mean, I read it for Audible.

So, how did that process go for you? I'm curious about that.

Well, you know, for me, I used to do reading. I used to be hired for my voice.

So I thought I could do it easily.

Well, no, I mean, it took me a lot of hours, and also it was very emotional. Because this book is about my life. It's about politics and news and all the things I've been involved in, but it was also about my life. And so it was sometimes hard.

So when it came to Twilight's Last Gleaming, I had to do the audio books for, I think, two other books. And I said never again. Oh, it is hard work. It's so hard. It's hard work.

I'm sitting here going, man, I talk for three hours a day on the radio. This is a piece of cake. By the end of chapter one, I'm like, who wrote this stuff? What's going on here? Oh, I did too.

I found mistakes when I was reading it because I thought. Why didn't they catch that? The other, why didn't they? Yeah. Oh, goodness.

Then they give you the tea. You know, you go, oh, you got to drink the tea. You got to drink the honey. I'm like, oh, I don't want to talk. I don't want to see anybody.

I don't want to write another book. Yeah, it is a lot of work. But I'm glad I did that.

So it is available if people are interested. God's Velvet Hammer. And it's. Yeah. Folks, wherever you get your books, you can get it.

Amazon is a great location as well. And it's just really a wonderful book, Sandy Rios, R-I-O-S. That's Sandy with a Y. The correct spelling. Yes, yes.

Yes, not the millennial spelling. SandyRios.com is the website. Yes, exactly. Thank you, Todd Stone. Hey, look, we take care of you, Cindy.

I know you.

So, look, Sandy, you're a woman. Right? You're not supposed to say that. You know, sit here, push me into a corner.

Okay, I'm a woman. I've got to ask you about something.

So, a lot of the liberal women, and these are usually the gals, they've got the magenta hair and they drive the Subarus, and they're really upset at J.D. Vance, and they hate the guy. I mean, there's this visceral hatred of J.D. Vance and Donald Trump. And there's been a conversation on social media about why that is.

And it was interesting because there are some people who believe that actually the reason they don't like J.D. Vance is because he's the kind of guy that they want but they cannot get. talking about a a a six foot tall guy, he's got a job, he loves his wife. He loves his wife.

So I'm wondering, is there anything is there anything to that? I think so. I mean, um there's odd stuff that goes on Am I making a new announcement here? I used to think that with the same thing with lesbians. they hated men, but they wanted to be men.

That never made sense to me. Wow. Well, yeah, why do they why do the one since one have to play the male and whi why don't they just be both women? I don't understand that.

So but they don't, 'cause it's weird.

So I think there's probably some truth to that. Because for one thing we we've raised I know we can be funny about this. We can. The the I hate to say this because I feel bad about it, but it's true. The young men of today are just so scrawny.

They're women. They're yes, and little shoulders and like meek and mealy mouthed, and they're not even I see these married couples on television in certain situations and I think There's got to be a real problem. There's a vacuum of manhood, you know. And then the women are becoming more like men.

So it's it's becoming a real people are very confused. Remember the old Archie Bunker show, All of the Family? Remember the song they would sing the intro, Boys or Girls? Play Don't sing, Sandy. Please like us.

We had it made. No, that's it. You kind of sounded it. You sound like he does. Yeah, I know.

Well, that's point. Stifle, Sandy. Stifle. Oh, Achie. But that's an interesting thing because in this generation that we're, I think Gen Z, I think we're starting to see some pushback to all of this.

And, you know, we were talking about the UNC Frant Boys protecting the American flag. And you wonder if these young guys are actually starting to step up and say, you know what, we're not ashamed of being young men. We're not ashamed of getting out there and playing rough and tumble. And we're not going to be medicated. I think we've had generations of medicated boys.

Oh, isn't that the truth? Robert F. Kennedy is talking about that. That's right. But I think of now the Proud Boys have fallen into infamy.

And I'm not saying I'm a cheerleader for them because I don't fully understand what they were doing. But one of their roles was a response to the feminization of men. And then, of course, they were pretty much gut-punched over after January 6th. But there was a hatred of that, they call it toxic. Masculinity.

It's so ridiculous. I mean, what woman doesn't want a man's man? I think most women do. And look at what's happening. Look at what's happening right now in North Carolina, where you have mostly men, you know, on horseback, going up the mountains and rescuing people, flying helicopters.

You don't have to convince. I've never been a feminist. I just haven't. I think God has created men and women uniquely. We are not the same.

We are created differently. We are complementary. We complete each other. And when women start trying to be like men and men start trying to be like women, it doesn't work. The puzzle pieces don't fit together.

It doesn't make for good marriage, good foundation for the country. And it's not inferior to me. A woman. A woman is made in a glorious way for a glorious purpose.

So, yeah, I don't. This, it's just part of the attack really against the creation itself and against God Himself. This whole messing up with genders. But it's still true, is it not? And it's funny, I can't imagine that the women, you know, J.D.

is actually kind of a mild-mannered man. He is not, you know, like a Donald Trump. He's not like a lot of alpha males, although he probably is an alpha male based on his the way he handles debate and the aggressiveness with which he handles situations. But so I guess that, you know, I think they're brainwashed. He's a Toxic masculinity.

He represents the Marines and all of that. Sandy Rios with us here at the Pray Vote Stand Summit in Washington, D.C. Sandy, I want to bring in a caller. This is Scott from Statesville, North Carolina, WSIC, our affiliate there. Scott, hello.

You're on the air with me and Sandy. Hey, how are y'all doing? Doing fine. We're doing good, Scott. What's on your mind?

So I've got a concern um And granted, For the people who were in the path of the hurricane, we were just on the eastern edge of it, so we. gazed by fairly well here in Statesville. Right, um I got friends. Uh up on the mountain. And uh They need help up there.

They need a lot of help. Throughout the different states, but Something that concerns me is how are they going to vote? Are they voting? Plates gonna be up to speeds. By voting day, you know, they're going to be able to get there.

Yeah. We've got to figure out somebody's got to figure out a way to get these people Too bad. or get the boat out to them somehow. And uh I mean that that comes back into providing safety and resources to them, but If we have more of this. of the Democrat Administration, like we've got right now for the next four years, this country is going to have a hard time surviving.

I'm telling you, it's going to have a hard time. Scott, could I just say I um This sounds so shallow. Uh but I just want you to know um People's hearts are breaking, and they want to help. And there's a lot of prayers I find myself praying all the time for the people in North Carolina and Tennessee. And we also are hearing horrible reports about the neglect of this administration, the refusal to send in military helicopters and aid, and preventing people, volunteers, telling them to go home, telling them to have to be trained through United Way to volunteer.

I want people to know that this is disgusting. And so.

So I will say this as a way of encouraging you. I was in a meeting in DC just a few days ago, and people who are in the know about this whole voting thing are trying to figure that out. I didn't hear any answers, there were no solutions, but I'm just telling you, people are discussing it. And if that's of any comfort to you at all. And amen, we pray for your friends.

Can I pray, Todd? Can I pray out for you?

Well, I think you certainly can. And, Scott, we appreciate you calling in. Thank you for that. Scott, Father, we pray for Scott. I just hear his heavy heart.

Lord, we pray for those people. Father, Father, Father, we pray that you would, in spite of the obstacles, only you could actually rescue them. And we ask for that. We ask for help in Jesus' name. Amen.

Amen. Amen. And, Scott, we appreciate your call, and we hear the concern. I mean, there are so many people that are just. They're just, they don't know what to do.

And Sandy, they feel like their government has abandoned them. But people haven't abandoned them. The American people have not abandoned them. There are millions of dollars of donations and food and people trying to help and private helicopters, people paying for helicopters themselves to go in and try to rescue. That doesn't help everybody who is in desperate need right now.

But the encouraging thing is that the American people have not changed. But we are living. We have leadership that is derelict and worse. And God knows we need a change, and that's what we're hoping for. Just got a text message while you were praying, and the person said amen with exclamation marks.

And her husband is a pilot, and he flies a private helicopter and just got back in. They're in North Georgia, flew up there to places like Statesville, Marshall, Boone, Hickory, and delivering supplies like oxygen tanks and other medical supplies, rescued people from nursing homes. And they said the scenes are unbelievable. And there are places that are just so devastated. We can't even, they haven't been able to get into those areas.

And we're afraid the death toll is just going to be insane. But we just have to, you know, again, the government cannot tell you. That you cannot help your neighbor. That's just, that's, you know, that's not right. You know, I think about that.

Of course, I think of most things in a Christian perspective because I am one. But we have to obey God rather than man. And when the government tells us we can't rescue people, can't feed them, can't help them, then we ignore that. Yes. And we do what we have to do.

Amen. All right. Sandy Rios, you know how this goes. We've got to take a break. Thanks for coming.

Thanks for hanging out. Oh, my pleasure. This is fun. All right. Candy Rios, ladies and gentlemen, SandyRios.com.

Get her book, God's Velvet Hammer. It's a great book, and you've got to get it in your library. I read it. It's a fascinating. Her life story is absolutely fascinating.

We've got a lot of folks wanting to weigh in. 901-260-5926. Let's go to High Point, North Carolina. Bill is listening to us on WSJS. Hi, Bill.

What's on your mind today? Todd, thank you so much, sir, for your putting the word out for this tragedy. I think we've been looking at this the wrong way. We keep looking at the number of citizens displaced Why don't we take a look at the number of illegal immigrants that have been displaced? And I think that may bump up our chances of getting some response.

See, we since that seems to be where all the money's going. You know it's a great point you bring up there, Bill. And I think that's what really disgust me, is that we're taking care of the needs of illegal aliens, and we're literally shoving Americans aside. I don't know, Bill. I have mixed emotions.

First of all, my heart burst with joy to see all these people going out there on their mules and their horses, walking up and delivering supplies, helping rescue people. That's the American spirit. But we also pay taxes, Bill, right? And part of that money is supposed to be used in the event of emergencies. And now we know that FEMA has been using all of that money meant for the American people to take care of the illegals.

Well let's do it equally then. Isn't that what they keep trying to tell us to be equal and diverse and included Well, you would think so. You would think so, Bill. You would think so. But look, under the Biden administration, and this is a great point Bill brings up, and Bill, thank you for that call.

God bless you, sir. Bill brings up a great point. This is a great example of an America last agenda and an America first agenda. All right, let's go to Central Arkansas. Gary is listening to us on KWAM.

Hi, Gary. What's on your mind? Hey, Todd, I'm wondering why the rest of the media is underinflating. Under They're not showing the numbers. of the loss of life.

Like you reported that John Rich said they'd used over five hundred body bags somewhere. Uh Why why are we not being told the truth? Gary, that's a fair question, Gary. And my con I think one of the reasons why is that they're afraid if the real numbers got out that there would be open rebellion in the streets, especially in the southern states. Gary, I think we're probably looking at a couple of thousand people who lost their lives.

At the very least. Is built beyond just how it's done. I know uh Folks around here is praying for them. Yes, I'm with you, Gary, and we can open that question up to the audience as well. Why do you believe they are underreporting the death tolls?

We know it's going to be high. We know there are thousands of people that are still unaccounted for and are missing. Our telephone number 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. We're going to be taking your calls coming up next.

Mike in Tennessee, listening to us on KWAM. Hi, Mike. What you got for us today? Greetings, Todd. Back in 1990 through 94, I was a volunteer pilot with the Air Force Civil Air Patrol.

I flew over 500 hours. All my missions were about were search and rescue. Right now, they should have at least a dozen.

Well that many aircraft and and literally in a fifty mile radius Could search every square inch of it in a day. These people right now need to be located so ground crews can go in, helicopters can come and extract them. These people are dying right now that are still alive because they don't have water, they're exposed to the elements. And there are people right now that can't get out. If I was in charge, I would have every Civil Air Patrol volunteer in the air right now looking for them, every ground crew.

Out there locating these people and the volunteer helicopter pilots would be doing extractions. Mike, we're hearing reports right now that there are actually pilots being sequestered in hotels. You've got rescue personnel, but they're not being given any orders at all. They're just sitting there twiddling their thumbs.

Meanwhile, you've got all these volunteers with the private choppers and planes that are going out there. And they're being told, no, you can't take part in this rescue effort. I just don't remember a time in American history, Mike, when volunteers have been told to stand down. You're not welcome. We have a volunteer force out there that are ready and able, but I've contacted a few people that are still involved in Civil Air Patrol.

I've been out of it since 'ninety'. Crickets, there's nothing going on. They're not being used, and this is what needs to be happening right now. People just need to take responsibility. We're Americans.

We don't need permission. You just Get in your plane, you go up there and you tune into the frequency so that you can coordinate with ground crews. And the ground crews need to go out there and extract people, the helicopters. Just do what you need to do. That's it, Mike.

We've got to save people. And I'm telling you, if you're telling me, if there's a little child that is trapped in the mud somewhere. and the government saying you can't go and help that child, that tells me that we are living in a very, very bad country right now. And I really am troubled by the fact that the government is coming in and they're keeping people out of the these areas. There are people that are probably within five miles of safety that don't know which way to go because they're not from the area.

People that move to the area that are not familiar with the terrain, they don't know how to traverse those hills and valleys. And so they're just sitting down, hunkering, waiting for somebody to come get them, but nobody's coming. You're right. to be out there locating them with GPS coordinates. Contacting the ground crews.

The ground crews need to go in and do extractions in the helicopter, guys. Do your thing. And Mike, I just want you to think about this and all of our listeners.

Something like this could happen in your community, in your city. I mean, Memphis, Tennessee, for example, sits on a major fault line. If the government's going to fumble this, They're going to do the same thing to any other major city, especially in a red state that suffers some sort of a calamity. And that's a troubling proposition. Mike, Got to run, my friend.

Thank you for that intel. Let's go to Ken in Richmond, Virginia. Hi, Ken. What's on your mind? Hey, Todd, this is Ken.

I've heard from two different sources now that the Biden-Harris administration has cut off. The air space over the affected uh hurricane areas. And I have an idea of wha why they're doing that, but I Just wondering if you had heard that same news. I had heard it. I have not been able to confirm that information, but I have heard it.

And Ken, this is the big problem here: there's so much information. You don't know what is accurate, what is not. But I will say this: that Pete Buttajaj has come out and has he's told Americans do not fly any drones. And a lot of people are using drones to get supplies to people. And the Transportation Secretary says, don't use the drones.

Yes, I I've also heard that one too. I I have a suspicion If this is true. That basically the administration does not want to have these terrible pictures. of wiped out areas and bodies and whatever in this horrendous Burkane. uh the results of it Uh to be shown on T V.

and, you know, make them look bad, so to speak. And that very well may be. But I'm telling you. Ken, I'm I'm concerned over place in our country right now. Ken, and if the federal government is going to turn a blind eye to the suffering of people like they're doing in North Carolina, Georgia, and East Tennessee, and Florida, and South Carolina.

That means we have a fractured country right now, and I don't like where all of this could head. Yeah, I I agree with you. And I think They are in desperation mode, if you will. They want to pant down any bad stories before the election. Ken, I think you're onto something there.

I've got to run, my friend. It's a great call. Give us a holler back. 901-260-5926 is our telephone over. That's 901-260-5926.

Let's go to Suzanne in Georgia, listening to us on WDUN. Hi, Suzanne. What's on your mind today? Hi.

Well, Todd, I think it's an opportunity, unfortunately, for Americans to become one collective village. We've got to storm the Bastille. My husband came home from work last night and I said, you know, we're supposed to spend our 25th anniversary on Tybee Island, and I said, can't do it. you know, we spent most of our you know early years, hiking in the mountains, every place that was devastated we'd been. And We're just going to donate that money, go up there, do whatever we have to do.

But I hear these people talking on radio about, oh, it's a terrible time because it's vacation time. Are you kidding? These people are devastated. There are people there who haven't eaten for six or drank for six days. They won't let people in.

It's time for Americans, whatever they can sacrifice. And again, that's just something we chose to do. And I'm not trying to put a give myself any accolades, but people have got to start to do something. Not just talk about it, do something. This is horrible.

Baby had fallen down, dead. It's just. It's too much, Todd, and people have to stop talking about and doing it. And it's the American people. We have an opportunity to rally, get together and fight these people who are sinister.

People are dying. And everybody's going about their business. And I know there are good people doing things in my community. We've already given away stuff, but this is not going to end. It's just what, seven days afterwards.

People have got to sacrifice something for everybody else.

Well, you're right about that. And Suzanne, God bless you. What a kind thing that you are doing. And I'll tell you, I think God is really going to bless you for that. And you're right.

I mean, just put yourself, just think about this. Wherever you are right now, if you're in Salem, Oregon, or Bartlesville, or if you're over in Mississippi, and wherever you are, there's a disaster and you want to help your neighbors, and the government steps in and says, no, you're not allowed to do that. What would you do? What would you do? I mean, you folks in Gainesville, Georgia, you've had your fair share of disasters over the years.

Could you imagine government agents coming in and saying, we know better, you do nothing. You are not allowed to volunteer. Folks, I'm telling you, something is off about all of this. All right, Suzanne, God bless you. By the way, President Trump announcing a bus tour, and they've launched it today.

Columbus, Georgia. They're coming to Bibb County, Athens. And guess what? Tomorrow, they're going to be coming to the Atlanta area. And Sunday, where is the Sunday, Gainesville, Georgia, the Trump Force bus tour is coming to your town.

So going to be a lot of fun, and a lot of great folks. You're going to want to get out there and be a part of that. All right, 901-260-5926. Real quick before we go to break, I want to bring Dan on from Statesville, North Carolina, WSIC. Dan, I understand you've been volunteering at the regional airport there, and you can help us out with some information that was shared a few minutes ago.

Well, yes, Pat, I was there yesterday for about eight hours and supposedly one hundred and one flights went out, so that's about a flight every eight or nine minutes. And these are private pilots. They came from Pennsylvania, Indiana, Other parts of North Carolina, South Carolina, we physically loaded their planes and don't spoke with the pilots. It's amazing. And then just three hours ago, there's a Hurricane Helene airlift relief Facebook page.

It says transition operations the day, starting at noon, they paused tangible collection efforts at the States airport. Decision was not made lightly, but it's necessary as we shift that's operational to strategic ground. Logistics. For some reason I it doesn't say, but now all of a sudden all these flights are halted there and they're just doing ground. Does that make any sense to any of the pilots, any of the folks there in the area?

It seems to me that's the only way to get to some of these locations. I was there yesterday. I'm not there today. And some of yes, we had aircraft and we had helicopters. Obviously, the helicopters are for the very remote areas, which is wonderful.

There's Hickory Airport, Statesville Airport, Concord Airport. all around this area that have been doing this. And I haven't been to the other two, but I understand they're all crystal. Planes private pilots. It's amazing.

It's wonderful. Well then why is it? Dan, I'm with you. I think it's incredible that the American people are rising up here and doing that. Are you guys seeing a large federal presence there in the area?

Um I only report from somebody else. Up in the hickory areas, they're set up a bunch of tents, cots, mobile wash stations, and mobile restrooms. there's supposedly Humbees and trucks with generators Don't know if it's National Guard, don't know if it's full out military. But I also don't know if that's being set up as a camp for relocation or if that's for those military personnel that are here helping don't know, but there is Some effort going on. I just don't understand why we don't hear the facts from our government, right?

What are they doing? Dan, it's a great question, and it's a question your governor needs to be answering. And thank goodness for your Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson, who's been out there boots on the ground helping hands-on in these relief efforts. Dan, thank you for that information. We really appreciate it.

And again, that's the point of this radio program, ladies and gentlemen. This is such a massive story. It's being ignored by the national media to a large extent. But we're going to focus on this with a laser because the American people need to know. And if you didn't know anything about it, you wouldn't be volunteering.

You wouldn't be able to give. And we certainly also want you to go to Samaritans Purse. If you go to my live show blog, ToddStarns.com, we have links to Samaritans Purse. If you want to help out with the Southern Baptist Convention's disaster relief efforts, those two organizations have been crushing it. And they're doing such an incredible job.

As a matter of fact, a few moments ago, I ran into Sissy Graham, who is here, and her home among those. I mean, they are suffering just alongside everybody else in that area up in Boone, North Carolina. All right, I am super late for a break, folks. 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stearns Show.

Real quick, let's go to the phone lines here. I want to say hello to Howard from Hendersonville, North Carolina, WHKP. Hi, Howard. What's going on?

Hey, Todd, I sure enjoy your program, man. You're doing the Lord's work there. Hey, uh, we had a fella come into our neighborhood. He's on a skid steer. He's from Kansas.

And he asked if he could help. clear up trees and anything else we needed around here. And he spent about three hours and just did a heck of a job clearing trees out of the road and He's also cleared up a road to where we could pass over it.

So Is that a proper job? Yes, I just wanted to give a shout out to him if he's listening. Daniel Richmond. From Kansas. Kansas City.

Wow, wow, what an incredibly kind thing to do.

So this guy came all the way from Kansas to North Carolina, and he just wanted to clear trees and help you guys get out of the danger zone. Yes, he brought his truck and his skid steer with him, and he said he's staying until his money runs out.

So we give him we give him some money and He's just taking donations and he's that he'll stay as long as he's got money to keep gas in the truck and He's been sleeping at the fire department.

Now, Howard, do you guys have power? Was your home damaged? No, we have announced since Friday.

Okay, well, we didn't have a generator.

So you're still working off a generator. That's what, seven days now? Yeah. Yeah. Wow.

What about other people in your neighborhood? How are they holding up?

Well, everybody seems to be doing pretty good. We're all helping each other out and sharing whatever. Supplies we've got. Fortunately, the Lord's blessed me with a good crop of tomatoes this year. We didn't eat lots of tomato sandwiches.

Howard, that's the most southern thing I've ever heard anybody say.

So. Hey hey, get this. We're using Duke's Duke's mayonnaise.

So, hold on.

So, you've got a whole crop of tomatoes. You've got white bread and Duke's mayonnaise. Yeah, you're going to be able to survive this hurricane just fine, Howard. Yeah, buddy. All right.

Well, Howard, I want you to do me a favor. I want you to tell your friends and your neighbors, listen to WHKP. They're doing a terrific job, and we're going to get through this together. We're not going to forget about you. You tell them that Todd Starn says we're going to keep the spotlight on what's happening there in the Carolinas.

Okay. Hey, Todd, real quick, can I ask you a question? Real quick.

Okay, voter registration. Is it over Sunday for North Carolina? Howard, I will find out the answer to that question for you. I do not know, but I will find out the question for you. And that music means we've got to scoot out.

But, Howard, I'll have our team work on that. Grace Baker will be on it, and we're going to get the answer for you. God bless you, Howard. Enjoy those tomato sandwiches. All right, folks, 901-260-5926.

We'll be right back. This is the Todd Stern Show. Balance of Nature's Fruits and Veggies Supplements, Changing the World One Life at a Time. Oh, I j I love it. I'm 83 years old and it has helped me.

Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun totem, Bible-clanging, deplorable America. And hello, America.

Welcome to the Todd Stearns Radio Program. We are not in our Liberty University studios today. We are actually at the beautiful Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., for the Pray Vote Stand Conference. Folks, we have a little over a thousand people that are gathered here for the weekend, hearing from some wonderful people. Dr.

Ben Carson earlier today, last night, Covered Mike Huckabee. I'll be speaking tomorrow morning. And of course, our good friend Tony Perkins is hosting this incredible event. It is also Open Line Friday, and that means you can talk about whatever you want to talk about. All you have to do is give us a call at 901-260-5926.

That's 901-260-5926. Well, we're always excited to have, and we've had some wonderful. Wonderful guests come through, but I'm really excited about our next guest. He is the author of two books, including a brand new book that just came out, Prayers for a Nation, a 90-day devotional. I'm talking about our good friend, the retired Brigadier General himself, John Tykert.

General, good to have you with us. Todd, it is awesome to be here. And you know, you and I got together last week in California. We run in the same circles, and I'm honored to be with you today.

So, this is your stomping grounds, right? It is. My wife teaches at the Naval Academy. She's a chemistry professor. I just retired out of the Air Force here, out of the Pentagon, and am doing whatever I can to maximize my impact on people in our great nation.

Well, let's talk about it. We have been back and forth, crisscrossing the nation. You were at the Spiritual Leadership Conference last week in California, and you had one heck of a great book signing at Edwards Air Force Base. It was.

So, my previous book, to the one that just came out, came out 10 months ago. Boom is the title, Leadership That Breaks Barriers, Challenges Convention, and Ignites Innovation. I spoke there at Edwards Air Force Base. I did a book signing, and then I was so filled up by the Spiritual Leadership Conference while I also launched my new book at that event. And so, just to give people a little bit of background and your bio, you were at Edwards Air Force Base where you were the commander, and then Edwards as well.

Is that right? Yeah, so Joint Base Andrews, I commanded here from 2016 to 2018. They gave me eight whole days to drive my family of five across the country before I took over as commander there at Edwards, and then 14 months in Iraq as our nation's senior defense official. And then I closed out my career in the military as the lead for international affairs for the Air Force and the Space Force.

So now you're retired and you're dabbling a little bit in politics. What was that experience like for you? Yeah, so Todd, I actually got out of the military because I firmly believe there's something more impactful I can do out than in to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. I ran for U.S. Senate in Maryland.

It was a great experience. The former popular governor jumped in unexpectedly, and I. I jumped out to support him. But I keynote speak, I write, I talk a lot about national security. And hopefully, I'm converging on the next big opportunity to maximize my impact on people in our great nation.

I do think this is, when you talk about national security, I can't tell you how many lawmakers I've had on from Capitol Hill. And to a person, every congressman, every senator I've had on says it's not a matter of if but when we have a terrorist attack on American soil and that threat has already come across our southern border. Are you hearing the same things? I am. And, you know, even the current FBI director has told us all the way back in December that because of open border policies, the terrorist red lights are flashing in this country.

We don't know how many members of Hamas are in the United States right now, or Hezbollah, or ISIS, or any other terrorist organization. That is not a way to maintain peace, security, safety, and sovereignty. And unfortunately, it's all been the result for the last three and a half years of the Biden-Harris border policies.

So we have these bad actors already here. We don't know how many. My concern would be an October 7th-style attack. And I think we have seen with the devastation of the Carolinas that our government is not prepared to handle things that might happen in smaller communities, rural communities. What do you recommend?

I mean, you get to advise people. What do you tell them?

Well, right now, we need to shut the border and then start working out the malign elements that are already here. But we also have a government right now, as we've seen in their lack of responsiveness in North Carolina and elsewhere, that are unable to handle the crises that exist. And we need good, strong, solid leadership. But in lieu of that, we need states and localities to start preparing for these types of events because they can't expect the federal government's going to help under the Biden-Harris administration. General John Tykert is with us.

May I ask you a question? I've never asked you this question. I've known you for, what, five years, six years? Dragon, that's your name. Is that your nickname?

What's the official? John Dragon Tiger. Yes, it is called a call sign.

Okay. In your first assignment in a fighter squadron, you accumulate enough stories about you, stupid things that you've done that give them ammunition to find a name that sounds cool, but is based on one of those stories. I got mine in 1998. It has to do with Zaragoza, Spain, and nuclear weapons, and that's all I'm going to tell you. Oh, God.

Almighty.

Okay. Nuclear weapons. Jeez, Lou. All right. By the way, folks, you got to get these books.

And especially, look, The Devotion is amazing. Boom, leadership that breaks barriers, challenges convention, and a nice innovation. And you can get those, by the way, on Amazon, wherever you get your books. Exactly right. Boom, for sure.

Also, the new devotion, Striving Together also carries it, but really, Amazon's the best stop. Striving Together Publications, great, great publishing house. You know, General, in addition to watching what's happening in the Carolinas, we also are watching what's happening in the Middle East. And I got to tell you, Israel's. Taking care of business.

They are taking care of business in a way that the United States has refused to do in the last three and a half years. What they have done, Israel, in the last two weeks, have been absolutely magnificent, pushing Hezbollah north, taking out their leadership chain, taking care of missiles inbound from Iran. And something that hasn't gotten a lot of press is the Israeli strike on the Houthis last weekend. The reason why that's important is because Yemen is further away from Israel than Tehran, which sends a very clear signal to Iran that Israel can send large strike packages and take care of business. And the Houthis couldn't do anything about it, and similarly, Iran could not either.

So I know that just war theory, and a lot of people are really having this debate right now over whether or not Israel overstepped by using the pagers. To me, it seems like that was a precision surgical strike. It was.

You know exactly where those targets are going to be struck, which is in the pockets of the leaders of Hezbollah. And now you take out their walkie-talkies, you take out their pagers, they're scared to use their cell phones. If they get together, they're going to be struck from airstrikes. And now they are in disarray as a military organization, and Israel's starting to mop them up, especially in the southern part of Lebanon. You know what I did?

I mean, the day after that happened, that night, I usually sleep with my phone by my side. I had that on the other side of the room. I didn't want to risk it.

Well, don't make Israel mad, or you never know what's going to happen. Exactly. All right, so you're doing these conferences. What is the message, especially for America's young people? I know you've got kids that are, you know, one still in high school and two in college already.

What is your observation of this generation? Yeah, I think this generation is a bit lost because they've been told they're accidents. They've been told they don't matter. They've been told that there's no truth. That we need, as a nation, as a culture, certainly parents, to help defuse those misunderstandings with our kids.

Because they are great human beings. They just have been growing up in a situation where they've been told all of the falsehoods that society has been pouring on them. And now we need this revival to get back to those basics that give them security, purpose in their lives that right now has been absent because of society and what they've been told. I love this. We can have you on for the whole hour, but I know you've got things to do, and we've got to take a quick break here.

General, congratulations on the books and your incredible career. Thank you for serving our country. And we look forward to what the future holds. Todd, I do too. Thanks for having me on, and it's my privilege to serve the United States of America.

You're going to get me up on one of those planes one of these days. I don't know about that, but I would love to see how you did. You're not one of the ones that jumps out, right? You fly, because I never have understood that. If you're in a perfectly good working plane, why would you want to jump out of a plane?

I've never done it. My oldest daughter has. She's braver than I. Oh, my goodness. All right.

General John Dragon Tykert with us. Folks, we do have to take a quick break. 901. 260-5926.

This is the Todd Starns Show. Can't hear the whole show? Don't worry. Get the Todcast and listen on your own time at ToddSterns.com. At 5 o'clock Eastern, the Todd Starn Show on Newsmax Television.

We've got some great guests lined up for you. Also, our big Radio Rumble episode tonight passed 5 o'clock Eastern on Newsmax. And we are broadcasting from the beautiful OmniShoreham Hotel here in Washington, D.C., the Pray Vote Stand Summit. A lot going on and a lot of great guests. You heard from General John Tycert, and he tried to get me up into one of those experimental planes that doesn't that didn't have an engine.

And I'm like, General, I'm not getting into a plane that doesn't have an engine. They fly you up and then they just let you float back down. But All that to say, he's a great American patriot. And speaking of great American patriots, we've had him on the show a number of times by phone throughout the years. The Oklahoma State School Superintendent Ryan Walters.

Ryan, welcome to the show. Good to see you in person. I'm about to say, it's great to be here. Even better to be here in person with you. This is a lot of fun.

So you're going to be speaking here in just a matter of moments, is that right? Yes, sir. I'm very excited. I love this conference. It's so great to see all the groups here and to be talking about faith and the role that it should be playing in our society.

And that's been a big focus for you as the school superintendent. I don't know if you've seen the headlines, but I don't think they like you. And the reporters and the atheists, I don't think they like you very much. No, you know, I don't think they do. You know, because what they are, they are used to Republicans winning office and then just kind of, you know, letting the left have their way, you know, kind of playing around the edges in education.

And I completely reject that. You know, I heard from voters all over our state that said we are tired of an education system in a red state being run by a bunch of leftists.

So not only did we go. And get all the left-wing indoctrination out of our schools. We're playing offense. We're bringing the Bible back to the classroom. We're going to talk about American exceptionalism.

We're very crystal clear. We want patriots. We want to produce young people that love this country. And the left is losing it because, hey, we are going to win these wars. We are going to put parents back in charge.

And we understand the left's had a stranglehold and we're not going to put up with it any longer. And isn't that the way it used to be, right? You had the Bible in the classroom, you had prayer in the classroom. Todd, you're going to love this.

So, the New York Times fact-checked me a few weeks ago and actually said I'm factually correct that until the 1960s, the Bible would have been in every classroom. Why? It's the most read book in American history. It's the most cited book in American history. It's the most purchased book in American history.

How in the world would you teach a history class or a literature class without any reference to the thing that the book that most more people have read than any other book in American history? It's academic malpractice to not have it in the classroom. I mean, when you look at our founding fathers, when you look at their writings and their teachings, how could you ignore that component of why they came to this country, why they wanted to create the country they created?

Well, I mean, and I'm going to tell you, the left is pushing an agenda with it. That's why, you know, and I told my board a few weeks ago, I said, guys, if we don't do this, that's making a decision, too, right? You have allowed the left to lie about American history. They're pushing an agenda, okay? This secularism that faith never played a role, Christianity never played a role again.

I'm not saying it. Let's read the words of Jefferson Adams. Let's read the words of Franklin. Let's read the words of Washington. It's there.

I'm just saying, let's let young people know what the people throughout our history said influenced them. I mean, Todd, how do you explain to people why the pilgrims came to America if you can't mention the Bible or Christianity? It doesn't even make sense. And so we have got to get back to a time where the left, they don't have to like it. They can be offended by it all they want, but we're not going to let them rewrite our history.

What do you make of it? Because you've been really. Aggressive and on offense when it comes to the transgenderism and this gender identity stuff.

Now we've seen, what, in four university volleyball teams refusing to compete against San Jose State because they've got a guy on the team. I'm wondering, are you starting to see people rising up and pushing back a little bit? Yes. We were one of the first states that, you know, we said, hey, boys aren't going to play in girls' sports. Boys aren't going to go in the girls' bathrooms.

We're not going to allow this woke Olympics to go on in our school. I mean, it is not only confusing, it's dangerous. We literally had a boy go into the girls' bathroom in a school in Oklahoma and beat up two girls. I mean, broke one of their orbital bones. Because, of course, it's a guy.

And, you know, it's like, well, that's why you don't have boys in the girls' bathrooms in a 10-year-old. It's dangerous, and that's the reality, too, with the left-wing's ideas. These aren't just stupid and silly, and what do they think? There's real life consequences when you go against what is true, what is right, and we see it. And no, I think you're going to see pushback, even in blue.

You know, I have Democrats come up to me and go, Hey, we don't agree with you on school choice, we don't agree with you on this or that. But you know what? You are right about boys or boys, girls or girls. What in the world is going on here?

So I even think you have the opportunity here with some moderates and even some kind of more conservative Democrats to go, hey, look, the left has just lost their mind, and we've got to be crystal clear on this issue.

So, was that a hard decision for you to make? I mean, you're getting blowback, a lot of it, but you're still sticking to your principles. Yeah. To be honest with you, no, it wasn't a hard decision to make. You know, I look at this, I think there's such clarity when you take a step back and look at what made the country great.

You know, look, I'm a history teacher. You know, history is a great guide to these things. It helps bring a lot of clarity to things. You know, and you don't get lost in this moment. You know, you look at what you're hearing today is so radicalized.

There weren't 100 people saying today most of the main positions the Democrat Party has just 10 years ago. And so you've got to be grounded in what works. Our founders were that way. Not only were they people of faith, they studied ancient Greece. They studied ancient Rome.

They tried to learn. They even talked about using Plutarch and so much of what they did and putting it in every library because they wanted to understand where did societies go right, where did they go wrong? They knew history could be a guide, and I believe that's essential for us today. I've contended for a very long time that the problem in the country is outside of the family, and what is it? Reagan said American greatness starts at the supper table first.

That's where it starts. But our public schools, I think, are really the engine driving this radical change around the country. Do you think that is the case? Yes. The public schools have become weaponized for a very aggressive wing of the Democrat Party.

I mean, they have the Federal Department of Education, which President Trump is spot on, has to be abolished, number one. But number two, they've got the teachers' unions on the ground.

So you've got the high-level, the money that comes with the federal government, the strings attached, the weaponization of that. Then you've got the troops on the ground through the teachers' unions. They have been able to weaponize our schools. Not only have they indoctrinated kids, they've driven good teachers out of our schools, good people that you would want in there with your kids. You're like, I'm not doing this anymore.

And so you've got to turn these things around. But yeah, we have allowed our schools to become indoctrination centers for the Democrat Party. I think it was shocking to understand that was even happening in a place like Oklahoma, the reddest state in America. Absolutely. And I get into the State Department of Education, and I've got to fire 150 bureaucrats because I've got a bunch of left-wing bureaucrats into this agency.

I'm going, we are a very every one of our counties voted for President Trump twice. We're not a moderate. We're not a bully. We are a red state, but they still control so much of education because they control your higher ed institutions. They run all your teachers and administrators through those higher ed institutions.

And through the teachers' union, they exhibit a tremendous amount of power over your schools.

So President Trump said abolish the Department of Education. Is that a good idea? Yeah, it's a great idea. I think it has to happen. I think you abolish the Department of Education, and here's the other thing that he said that I think is so important.

You abolish the Department of Education, you pass a national federal school choice tax credit. You do it as a tax credit.

So then you don't need a federal government looking over it or anything else. It's a tax credit.

So Red State, Blue State, parents, you want to send your kids to a Christian school, private school, charter school, home school, public school. Your choice. I think that unlocks the potential of every kid. I think that is tremendous for empowering families. I think those two things right there is the best, most aggressive education agenda we've ever seen.

And so I think President Trump is spot on with that. I've got about 30 seconds here. Are you hearing from other states asking how you are able to do what you do? Yes, I've been working with several states across the country that I think Oklahoma were leading on this. We're very excited, very proud of that.

But I think you're going to see a lot of other states working to put the Bible back in the classroom, working on changing their curriculum to promote American greatness.

So I think you'll be seeing some announcements soon from some other states across the country. I love this. And you did that in 30 seconds. You're a pro at this. All right.

All right, Ryan Walters, ladies and gentlemen, the state school superintendent in Oklahoma here in Washington, D.C., about to address delegates here to the Pray Vote Stand Summit. There's a fun crowd in there. Have you done this before? I did it last year, and it was one of my favorites. It was such an awesome group.

Yeah, these folks are pretty rowdy.

So you'll have a good time. All right. God bless you, Superintendent, and we appreciate the great work you're doing. Thank you. Love what you're doing.

All right, folks, got to take a quick break here. We'll be right back. Wow, what a crazy day here, everybody. And it's great we're making all these connections. And the general was here just a few moments ago.

Sandy Rios is hanging out, and our good friends from a family research council. All sorts of wonderful stuff happening.

Now, I just want to alert you: you may be hearing some dead air. And if that's the case, we are dealing with a series of sunspots that are the solar flares that are causing some problems with radio stations all across America.

So it's nothing to do with the radio station or your satellites, none of that stuff. It's just that's how things work.

So we appreciate you guys hanging out with us. There's really not much we can do. about that at all.

So anyway, it has been an amazing time here at the Pray Vote Stand Summit. Folks, we're wrapping up our time tonight. 5 o'clock Eastern. I'll be on Newsmax. We've got a lot to talk about this evening.

And then tomorrow morning, I'm excited to be able to deliver a keynote address to all of the folks gathered here at the Omni Shore Hotel. Folks, it's been a lot of fun. I want to thank all of our great team, Grace and Cassie and Lydia. Also, Dylan, who normally runs the board, is on his honeymoon, had a wonderful wedding, and we want to welcome Dylan and married to the family. That was a lot of fun.

We'll talk about that when Dylan gets back. In the meantime, folks, you get out there. Have a great, great Friday. Be sure to check out ToddStarnes.com. And whatever you do, be sure to go to church this weekend.

Be good, America.
