Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. Shatters, that's right. I love this American ride for you. In Camela Harris. That thank you for Bill Clinton, as well as Al Sharpton, now explaining to us that is in fact.
The official way to pronounce Campbell's name. Curious to hear your take on the speech last night, and I've heard a few different takes from conservatives.
Now, Gen Z conservatives have been, they were like, wow, you know, that was a pretty good speech. There were no major errors, no gaps. Certainly, there were a lot of lies, but that could move the needle for Kamala Harris. Tucker Carlson believes. That, as I do, that she is a very dangerous person.
And the reason why is that she does come across to young people, especially, younger voters, and to the babes of America, the gals, the Feminazis. She comes across as somebody that they would like to drink a bottle of wine with, which may or may not have happened before the address to the nation. There are others, and I would put myself in this box. I was just unimpressed last night. With With her speech.
And again, the reason why is she basically rehashed what Barack Obama said about her, what Michelle Obama said about her history, what her husband said about her history.
So I get it. She was trying to paint this picture, but that picture had already been painted. There was nothing on policy, nothing at all about helping people at the grocery store. There was none of that. At all.
And again, the Democrats are hoping in this uneducated society that we all live in now. The Democrats are hoping that the general public is going to be fooled. And they're going to watch at snippets, and that's what people are doing. They're going to TikTok, they're going to Instagram, they're going to Twitter, and they're looking at snippets. They're not looking at the big picture, and they see a crowd full of Democrats chanting USA, which stands for USA.
Well, I can't tell you what that stands for, but we're a family-friendly show. But for the Democrats, USA stands for something very different. For Republicans, it's the United States of America. The Democrats is something naughty.
So, anyway, you've got the people chanting USA. They're waving the American flag, which was, it was interesting to watch the Democrats. And I don't know if you saw the audience as they were painting the audience filled with these very effeminate guys with the man buns and the sporadic facial hair, those that were able to grow some. And then they had the big, well-rounded gals with the magenta hair and the mustaches. And they're all, they've got the mirror, the flags.
They didn't know what to do with them. I think there are a couple of folks that just. By nature, they took out their lighters and they were going to set them on fire. But somebody, no, you can't do that. No, we're supposed to wave the flags tonight.
Wave the flags. And so they did. And so you've so if you're if you're somebody who is ignorant and you're not following politics and you see the video, you're like, wow, the Democrat Party, they stand for God and country, and they've got the military up there, and Camela is out there talking about we're going to be tough on the border.
Okay, folks, it's all a big lie. It's a ruse and they know it and they're not even ashamed of it. They believe that, and this is their campaign strategy, they are going to lie out the wazoo and hope you're not smart enough to know what's going on. And ladies and gentlemen, hear me on this. It is a dangerous strategy because It's a brilliant strategy.
And it could very well work. Which is why we've got to unify And we've got to get out there and get out the vote.
So I'm curious to hear your thoughts on Camela. And by the way, did you see Tim Waltz? Can we just talk about it? Is it just me? I get the creepy vibes every time I see this guy.
There's something There's something not right about this guy. We're not seeing the real Tim Waltz here. It's too much. I mean, he comes out there like he's I he he's a Broadway show dancer with the jazz hands and the the hands and the prayer in the prayer mode and the um the sad sack face. Then all of a sudden he's bursting into joy It's j there's something weird about him.
So last night, I don't know if you saw this. And the kid, they've got a special needs child, Gus is his name. And by the way, if you haven't already heard, a lot of conservatives got in trouble because they didn't do their homework. On this radio program, ladies and gentlemen, we do our homework. And we knew right away, and I sent a note a memorandum to our entire staff.
Hey guys, I'm Yeah. The kids are off limits here. And FYI, Gus, has medical issues. He is on the spectrum and he is dealing with a nonverbal form of autism. Hands off.
Lot of conservatives. Got into a whole lot of trouble over the past 24 hours over all of that. But anyway, he's The family's coming out on this stage. And again, it's just a. It was weird.
So the family's coming out on the stage, and Tim Waltz jerks his son. I mean, it was, you could, you can see it. And the videos are all over the socials. He's jerking his son. I've got it on my Twitter feed.
And the look on his face. that it was a scowl. And you wonder what the Wha what was that all about? What's what's going on there? And the look from the wife Again, it's just an awkward.
There's just an awkwardness to him, to the wife, and the interactions, and I have heard this guy has a nasty, nasty temper. By the way, so does Camela, and somebody's going to have to, and this will be coming out at the poll, look. If the polling numbers start to crater, which I suspect they are going to, we're going to start hearing a lot of negative leaks about Camela. And here's the reason why. We're going to hear those because she's refusing to do any interviews.
With the media.
So the media is going to start getting angry. They're going to start picking up the leaked stories, which, by the way, have already been leaked. They're just waiting to release those stories. Kamala Harris. Over 90% of her staff in the Vice President's office has left.
Over 90% of the time. Coming gone. They say she is a horrible, horrible person. She has a toxic workplace environment. And nobody can work with the woman.
And you know, I believe that. I believe it. It is just, and you can see through it. I don't know if it, maybe it's just me, but you can see through all of this.
So, those two together is just a weird, weird vibe, and I don't think she likes him. I don't think she likes him very much. But that's just me. 901-260-5926. By the way, President Trump is going to be in Glendale, Arizona today.
RFK Jr. is rumored to be the surprise guest at the rally tonight. That's 7 o'clock Eastern. You'll be able to watch it on Newsmax. Folks, unbelievable.
We've got some video up on our website. People lined up before dawn. To get a seat in Glendale, Arizona. It's what? 522 degrees today out there.
It's unbelievable, but people are out there. They're having a good time. The flags are flying. People are so excited. And it's I don't see that.
On camel aside, all I see is Fabricated people they are paying to be Camelo supporters. By the way, did you get suckered in last night? Anyone get suckered in? You know, they ta the word came out. It was a TMZ, a lot of others, and and I'll give you the back story here.
I have the back story on this.
So, first of all, James Taylor, you know the guy that he plays the guitar? You may just call my name. That's the only song the guy ever sings. Anyway, he's like a raging Democrat, and he was supposed to perform on opening, was it opening night? And they canceled the guy.
It was so long. The schedule and the time management was just insane for this, just insane.
So, a source is telling me. That they said, Todd, you're not going to believe this. They had all sorts of people scheduled to speak. And they just had to start canceling people. Never seen anything like it.
They were like, they have never seen anything like this, where people were just being canceled. Stevie Wonder was told you can only do one song, not two. And so, anyway, the concern was. That Kamala was not going to be able to do her speech during prime time.
So they canceled everybody. Camela got out there. But anyway, yesterday. The reporting was that there was going to be a special guest. And there were three names being floated about Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and George W.
Bush.
So, anyway, the Bush people are like, What are you people smoking over there? We're not, no, we're not, we're not going to speak. What? That's crazy. We're not speaking of that thing.
So, it wasn't Bush, and so people were watching. And that's the reason why the numbers are going to be astronomical on last night's rally. And the reason why is because everybody thought it was going to be, well, then Beyonce said, Beyonce's not going to be there.
So everybody thought Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is going to be performing. A TMZ. Everybody went out there with the story. And we were waiting.
And waiting? And waiting. And waiting. And there was nobody. Nobody.
And so now it comes to find out that the DNC actually leaked this fake news. They fooled everybody. They said no, the special guest was actually Camero. It wasn't going to be Taylor. We didn't invite Taylor Swift.
We didn't invite Beyoncé. We didn't invite George W. By the way, Mitt Romney actually volunteered that he was not invited. Nobody cares about you, Willard. Go back to Utah.
Enjoy an uncarbonated beverage.
So, anyway, um, A lot of people are upset now. They're like, wait, I watched all this and there's no free Beyonce concert? What's going on here? I want my money back. But that proves the point.
First of all, they've really angered most of their base. By lying to them. And the reason why is the DNC wanted a huge audience watching Camela.
So they lied to you. Do you understand what's going on and how evil these people are, folks? And that's why they are dangerous, because people would get sucked in by the lies. But Donald Trump is doing a very effective job. He called into Fox News last night.
Yeah. And it was so good that Brett Baer literally cut off the interview. And Brett Baer is a raging Democrat.
So you know he was getting under their skin. Yeah. And Martha What's her face too? Yeah, both of them are liberals. And Trump wasn't having any of it.
He was just Trumpy and Trump. And so when they cut him off, guess what Trump did? He called in live. to Guttfeldt's show on on the guy's cellphone. I love it.
So anyway, today, Open Line Friday, that means you can talk about whatever you want to talk about. All you have to do is pick up the phone and give us a call, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. We will talk about it all. We have some breaking news involving the Secret Service.

We talk a lot about politics. We talk a lot about culture. And this is one of those opportunities for us to stand in the gap and help these precious, precious children. Again, get this: just a $200 gift, you're providing life-saving food for four kids, four kids for an entire year. That's amazing.

We've got big high school games tonight, so I'll be putting on my football broadcasting camp a little bit later on. Hey, let's go to our good friend Joe from LLJ, Georgia. And Joe, I know you like to compliment the show, and we really appreciate that, but you're a money guy, and I'm glad you called because I'm just wondering how concerned Americans should be about Kamala Harris's economic plans. I'm very concerned, Tom. I'm giving I'm gonna I'm sending my wife is now sending the credit card to send you $1,000 for your food.
So I wanted to tell you we're happy to do that. Before I talk about Kamala. But what Kamala is doing, Todd, I'm a stock market guy, and she is raising the capital gains or wants to raise the capital gains on stocks or automobile or anything you sell from 19% to 44%. That will absolutely wreak the stock market and the economy.
So your show is a great way to get the information out to the taxpayers to be sure to vote for Trump because our economy and the American stock market cannot afford. A forty-four percent increase in the capital gains tax rate to forty-four percent, but I'm happy to contribute a thousand dollars. Do your food. And my wife is putting the credit card. You do take credit cards, right?
We do. Yes, sir, we do. And again, go to the website, Joe, and have her click on that red give life banner, and you'll be able to pop in your information, or you can call if you want to do that. God bless you, Joe. What a very kind thing.
Really appreciate that. I'm happy to do it, Todd. And listen, you're going to have, your program will get the word out on this Capital Games. And I think the Raspberry Compos just came out. We're three points ahead.
Trump is. And I think when we get the information out, like on your show we're doing today, I think we'll have a landslide win over Kamala, November the 6th. Joe, got to run, my friend. Got to run. God bless.
There's a communist plot to take over America. The new documentary, Beneath Sheep's Clothing, exposes the dark truth. Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of American students. America's schools have been turned into Marxist-Maoist re-education centers. Here's the thing about communism: when it comes knocking at your door, it doesn't say, Hi, I'm here to impoverish, enslave, and murder you.
It says, I'm here to liberate you from oppression. You take over the colleges of education, then you take over all the teachers, then you take over all the students, and thus you get the future. Beneath sheep's clothing reveals the communist infiltration of America's education system, churches, and media. Will a political revolution be next? Or will we, the people, wake up and reclaim our freedoms?
Destroy the opposing country through unconventional methods. Take America without firing a shot. Don't miss Beneath Sheep's Clothing. Available now. Watch it today.
Go to salemnow.com at salemnow.com. All right, welcome back, everybody. Good to have you with us today. And if you missed that, and my apologies as we went through the break there and had to cut off poor Joe and myself, so my apologies, that's on me. Joe from LAJ, one of our regular callers, he and his wife just announced they're donating $1,000 to our great campaign to feed hungry children and provide clean drinking water.
God bless you, Joe. That gets us about $1,000 closer to our goal. And we're going to be reading off names a little bit later on. But again, thank you so much, Joe from Ella J. What an incredible gift.
Our biggest donation so far. And, Joe, not only are you going to get my entire library, I am also, we're going to send you a lot of swag, and I'm also going to personally record your greeting on your cell phone. Thank you, Joe, from LAJ. All right, speaking of Georgia, wow, something beautiful happened last night.
Some might call it a miracle. But the good news is that Donald Trump and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, who's a good guy, folks, they have buried the hatchet, not in each other, but in the ground. Let's go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Josh McCoon is the great chairman of the Georgia GOP. Josh, good to have you on today.
Good afternoon. Thank you so much for having me.
So Josh, this has to be exciting news because Georgia and explain to our voters why Georgia is so vitally important in the upcoming election.
Well Obviously, Georgia is a key battery. battleground it was in twenty twenty When you look at the math for President Trump, and I'm very optimistic about the upcoming election. but Georgia is a necessary puzzle piece to get to that 270 or 16 electoral votes. I think are absolutely crucial for him to get there. And we're a competitive state.
We're a center right state, but very competitive. And so it's a key battleground, very important for President Trump. I am curious, Josh. I'm I'm in Tennessee and where we broadcast our national show. We are a super majority Republican, rock-solid red state.
Is it that way in Georgia? And if not, I'm wondering, have you guys had a lot of folks moving in that are maybe Democrats that are may causing the state to go center right?
So we have a majority in both houses of our state legislature. All of our constitutional officers that have been elected statewide are Republican. And a majority of our congressional delegation is Republican. We are a Republican state. I would argue that twenty twenty was a very unique election in a number of ways, not the least of which has to do with the A COVID pandemic and a lot of changes that were made to our elections procedures.
without the legislature's approval.
So we feel very good about twenty twenty four. A lot more election integrity measures in place today. than there were four years ago, a lot more eyes on this process than there were four years ago. And of course, people that voted, there were some people that switched and voted straight. A Democrat, and they're dealing with the consequences of those votes in places like Cobb and Gwinnett County.
A lot of those people that I've spoken to have a serious case of buyers or more.
So I'm, again, very optimistic about President Trump's chances here heading into the November election. I'm glad to hear that. I know we broadcast on a lot of stations across Georgia, and we hear that from so many people. Let's talk about what Governor Kemp is going to be able to bring to the table and why it is so important to have the governor as a part of Team Trump here.
Well, look, Governor Kemp is extremely popular in Georgia and rightfully so. He is done a lot of incredible policy work. both on the Georgia economy, the attraction of businesses to the state, But also, you know, championing really conservative causes. Georgia passed a heartbeat law in Governor Kemp's first year in office. He was absolutely right on COVID, reopened the state very quickly.
And so he's been rewarded by Georgia voters for that.
So, having Governor Kemp visibly supportive of the president is important for that reason, but also Governor Kemp has built. A political operation. He has a leadership. a campaign arm that has raised quite a bit of money. and they are very active in some swing legislative Uh districts around the state already.
And so being able to augment what the Georgia Republican Party, what other groups like Greater Georgia and Turning Point Action are doing with the governor's efforts. Is huge. It just throws more bodies at this voter turnout situation. And that really is what we have to do. We have to turn out our people, make sure they vote, get them to make a plan, particularly to vote early.
When we do that, we're going to be able to win and win with a margin. And I have to imagine it's very helpful for the Trump team when they come into a state like Georgia and you've already got the foundation, you've already got the bones of the operation already up and running. That makes it a heck of a lot easier to get out those votes, get the people knocking on the doors and picking up those phones and making those calls. Absolutely. I mean, to have all of us that were involved when the governor was in a very competitive race in twenty eighteen and then a race in twenty twenty two that he won really by a historic number.
That is obviously a huge value add. And so to see the governor so strongly standing up. for President Trump last night. And of course, President Trump responding in kind It's very exciting. You know, this this narrative has been peddled.
by some in the media here in Atlanta. You know, it was totally destroyed last night. I mean, people can see clearly now. All the Republican team is united. To get President Trump over the finish line here in Georgia.
I just love this, and I know that has to make you happy as chairman of the party because you've got to work with a lot of different factions.
So that is a tough job you've got. I think all of the guys and gals out there that are chairing their state parties. You know, it is tough work, but it's important work. And I'm so grateful. to be here at this moment in time because as you've spoken so eloquently about This is a critical moment in American history.
We have the opportunity to do really wonderful things over the next four years, really get our country back to where it ought to be. And I believe that's going to happen. I believe it's going to happen on November 5th, and in no small measure due to the relationship between Governor Kemp and President Trump. I completely agree with that. I got a lot of messages a few days ago, the former Lieutenant Governor, Jeff Duncan, speaking at the DNC.
You know, I'm a Republican, and I support whoever the nominee is. If they're moderate, they get my vote. If they're conservative, they get my vote. Whoever the nominee is, I support my party. What's been the scuttlebutt about his appearance at the DNC?
You know, um For those of us who have been around Georgia politics for a long time, we know that Jeff Duncan, there's not really a nice way to say this, but he's just somebody that's been in. an attention seeker his entire career. He's desperate to remain relevant. He's desperate to hold on to his CNN contributor contract. And, you know, I mean, imagine the swing to go from presiding over the debate on the Heartbeat Bill in 2019 to standing on a stage steps away from a Planned Parenthood mobile unit offering free.
Free abortions. Um there's just no Core principles or beliefs there, other than what can I do to try to stay relevant? How can I keep the camera on me? And how can I keep cashing paychecks from far-left media organizations? And it's sad.
Um I I don't like saying things like this, but it's just It's the truth. And that's been the discussion around his appearance among Georgia Republicans. It made me sick to my stomach. And I don't even know the guy, but it was really disgusting to turn on your party like that. That's just the ultimate betrayal.
And honestly, the Democrats, I wouldn't trust the guy. I mean, if he's going to leave his party and join the Democrats and turn his back on all of his deeply held beliefs, I don't know about that. But that's just me. And Josh, I appreciate you answering that question. I did not prepare you for that, but I think it is important because you guys are doing very important work there in Georgia.
And I do think that the media is distorting the true story on the ground in that state. It is a conservative state, and I'm expecting great things to happen there. And then we're going to be able to get the Senate stuff figured out, too. Yeah, you know, I mean, we're not going to look beyond November fifth. But I believe a strong win for President Trump on November fifth.
puts us on course to some great wins. around the corner in 2026. But I I believe that President Trump's going to win here. He's going to win with a margin here because Our people know how important it is to make a plan, get out and vote, get their friends and neighbors to go vote. We've got a massive operation that is already at work.
doing that important work of turning out the vote and also doing out doing the important work of election integrity. One of our biggest issues has been people who are hesitant to vote because they feel like Is this process fair?
Well, I'm here to tell you. We are engaged in a never before seen Herculean effort. To make sure that this election is a fair election and one that every single Republican can have confidence in. The only way we won't win is if people stay at home.
So we just need people to turn out and vote, and particularly if they vote early, that really helps us. But we feel very good here in Georgia. I love that.
Well, Josh, we really appreciate you taking time out today, and thanks for coming on the show. We're excited about what's happening. We have so many great listeners, and they are fired up. They are ready to get involved, and we'll see what happens on Election Day. Thank you so much.
For having me today, really appreciate it. All right, Josh McCoon, ladies and gentlemen, chairman of the Georgia Republican Party. And that is so exciting to hear what Brian Kemp said: that he is going to do whatever it takes to get Donald Trump elected, President Trump putting out a message thanking Brian Kemp. And I'm glad to see that happen. We don't need Republicans fighting Republicans, ladies and gentlemen.
We need everybody focused together, united to stop a very dangerous platform coming from the Democrats. And you heard Joe from Ella Jay. And Joe likes to call in, and he loves to brag on us, and we love that, but he's also a money guy, and he knows. And he pals around with a lot of other very important money people, and they know just how dangerous these policies are. It will destroy the economy of this country.
All right, real quick, let's go to North Carolina. Bennett is listening to us on the talk station. Hi, Bennett. What's on your mind today? Good morning, my brother.
I really, I'm so glad I'm listening this morning. I get you by car radio. Love your show. been a listener since listening to the show, I've really gotten involved And educate myself about elections and so on. Just a little shout out to President Trump.
I don't know if you remember hearing that we had a hurricane come to Newbern, North Carolina, drove right up the Noose River. President Trump came. And if anybody from North Carolina is listening, We need to remember that he came to us. when we were hurting. Uh Mm-hmm.
And the other thing was, uh, Brother Starnes, uh, The gentleman who brought up about the capital gains tax Why don't those big tech companies Switch. Camp. why support somebody who's going to jack you up and ruin the economy. But by supporting uh Kamal Harris's um heresy of Economic doomsday failure, that's all all I can say. But I just wanted to give a shout out to President Trump, your show.
And all the patriots out there, we need to be praying. We need to come together, just like the man said. It was really encouraging about Georgia, Brother Starnes. and I'm praying about North Carolina. I'm really concerned About North Carolina.
So remember us Carolinians here, if you would. And I'll let you talk. Bennett, well, Lo, I wanted you to say what you wanted to say. You did a great job, and I want you to give us a holler back. You're right.
And I think Trump is having those. Actually, I think some of those corporation leaders and executives, those C-suite executives, are already reaching out to Donald Trump. But, you know, again, I would be reaching out to somebody like a Zuckerberg and say, hey, look, let's have lunch. And then, during the course of lunch, lay out exactly what Kamala Harris's plans would do to Meta, for example. There's also some rumblings that Elon Musk may show up at tonight's Trump rally as well.
It is a very dangerous thing. And the Democrats are not - this is not some sort of policy made out of ignorance, Bennett. You know, that, oh, well, we've just got to fix the economy. We've got to make it better for people.
So we're just going to give this a try. No, this is all intentional. They know what these policies are going to do. It will collapse the economy. It will cause chaos in this country.
And out of the chaos will rise communism. That's what this is all about. It is to destabilize the United States of America, and we've got to stop them. And that's why I'm glad that Trump and Brian Kemp are partnering together. We've got to do it state by state.
I've got to run, Bennett. God bless you, and thank you for calling in. All right, when we come back, I want to go through some of the names. Man, you guys are the donations are pouring in. This is so exciting.

Happy Friday to you, Open Line Friday. That means you get to call in and talk about whatever you want to talk about. If you want to talk about fluffer nutters, as we did so eloquently early in the program, happy to do that. Our telephone number, write this down, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.
Now, I also have to tell you some exciting news in the Starnes family. Many of you know that our audio engineer, Dylan, is a family member, and of course, he is engaged to be married. And he is off today on his way to Gatlinburg for the bachelor's party, which we're assuming will be a Baptist-centric affair. At least that's the working story, that's the story I've been told to share. And anyway, Ben Dieter, the morning show host, is actually a member of the bridal party.
He's one of the groomsmen. And so Dieter and Dylan are on the road to Gatlinburg. We've got to get them to call in, and I'll try to get Grace Baker to facilitate this, but we need to have them call in on the road, somewhere on Interstate 40 right now, heading to Gatlinburg. And I think we need a live report from the Buckies. They have a brand new Buckies that just opened.
So hopefully we could make some radio history here. I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and say hello to our good friend Liz Peake from Fox News. Liz, I'm curious, have you had the opportunity to visit a Buckeyes just yet? No, I don't think I have. Obviously, I'm missing something.
Liz, we got to get you out of the Upper East Side, and we got to get you into the heartland. I am not sure. In the Upper East Side, but I still don't think there's a Buckeyes here.
So, apologies on that. All right, so Lispeak has not yet savored or sampled rather beaver nuggets.
So, we will. It's a thing. It's a thing, Liz. You gotta Google it. It's uh it's quite the exp it's basically, you know, a an interstate gas station that has been turned into a Walmart.
Ah Very important. With the cleanest bathrooms in America. The bathrooms are very people just walk in to look at how clean the bathrooms are. It's really quite the cultural. Liz, I'm just disappointed.
You haven't lived. There's nothing to do in your neighborhood. There's nothing at all. Nothing at all.
Well, that's what we do. All right. By the way, I thoroughly enjoy when you call into the morning show here in Memphis. You and Ben Dieter are quite the pair when you guys are talking about the big stories. We have fun.
All right. Well, let's try to have a little bit of fun here. The DNC finally over. And Liz, I was just sort of underwhelmed by that speech last night. I know she didn't make any major mistakes, but I was just underwhelmed by the whole thing.
Well, I think the good news for Kamala Harris is she has obviously changed speech writers because most of what she said actually made sense, and she didn't devolve into these Ridiculous. Uh, circuitous word salads where she uses the same word over and over again. Whoever wrote this, I think whoever wrote this actually has been writing Joe Biden's speeches because an awful lot of it was exactly word for word lifted from Joe Biden's speeches, like you know, that Americans have much more in common than the things that divide us. Who wants to be a president for all Americans? I don't know whether it's Joe Biden or Barack Obama, but whoever wrote this speech has clearly been at this job before.
I thought she started well, it was a nice. Friendly, rather humanizing talk about her family, her mother, never talks much about her Marxist father. And by the way, I'm not using that word, that's what The Economist calls her father. Uh i but but then she when she sailed into yet more ad hominem attacks on Donald Trump, which were Erroneous, which was just plain lies. just lost me and I think If she was trying to win over Trump voters, or people who knew something about Donald Trump and knew a little bit about what he did as President and so forth, or what his policies are now, what he's running on, I think they must have been lost too.
I mean, All this stuff about how he's going to put journalists in jail and he's going to ban abortions nationwide. And oh my gosh, this hectoring about. Project 2025. You know, Todd, this isn't his Policy playbook. Even CNN and other liberal organs have come out and said, no, it really he is not involved in this.
But they can't let it go. And I can guarantee you, 99.9% of the listeners last night have no idea what is involved in Project 2025. But it's like this bogeyman out there that they're using to scare people, and their audience doesn't know any better. I mean, it's really. I thought it was pretty thin gruel.
I think the thing for me that I'm more alarmed by is, and again, it goes back to the ignorance of the American people. Folks are just not educated as much as they used to be, and especially on things like the economy. And we just had a caller on who is a financier guy. He is really freaking out about the capital gains tax issue and warning. I mean, so, Liz, this is your world.
What happens if Kamala Harris implements those policies?
Well, yes. And it's interesting that she has just kind of said, yes, she's endorsing all these tax policies without talking about them, without talking about how, for example, a wealth tax, and that's really what they're talking about uh taxing unrealized Capital gains. What that amounts to. And by the way, almost every country in Europe has tried that and left it behind because it's so unworkable. It's so unbelievably unfair.
For example, if you have an asset, let's say you own a farm and they judge that it's gone up in value, they may exclude residences or something. But let's talk about a painting or any kind of asset that goes up in value, according to the tax assessor, you pay a Percentage of that increase in terms of a tax.
So you have a portfolio, let's say your IRA goes up $100,000, you've had a great year in the market, so you all of a sudden are shelling out $40,000 in unrealized capital gains, the next year it goes down $100,000. You think the government is going to write you a check? No, that's not how it works.
So it's a horrible concept. But Cod, what people may not know or should know. Is it's also the case that our economy right now is teetering on the brink of a significant slowdown. The Economist had a piece out this week. entitled Is the United States in Recession?
And that and there's enough indications of slowdown that some people think we are actually technically already in a recession. But the point is that the economy is is fragile enough that any kind of substantial increase in taxation and you would throw it over the brink. And I think That's what people, if there's a reporter out there who has the courage to actually demand an interview with. Kamala Harris and prepare for that interview, that's what they need to talk to her about because. All the stuff she's talking about could definitely hurt.
All Americans, including all these middle-class voters that she's trying to win over. Here's what concerns me. And I saw the Washington Post and the New York Times, and they came out with op-eds. And the Washington Post, I thought that not only did they have the editorial calling her out for her economic plan, but the entire editorial board. And I suspect, Liz, because we all know what's been happening in our newsrooms, they've been decimated.
We've got a lot of young kids that are now journalists. They do not have a lot of life experience, and many of them are not economists, and they just don't understand this. I suspect what happened was the owners and the people writing the check step in and say, guys, we've got to come out strong against this because I'm with you. The reporters need to be asking that. And God bless the folks over at Fox and Newsmax and even CNBC.
They've been really pushing back hard. But I'm just really concerned that the average American does not realize what is about. To happen if she gets into that White House. I think that's true. And part of it is totally purposeful on her part.
The reason they're not having interviews and so forth is she doesn't want to reveal just how far left she is. And Donald Trump is talking about this, and people tend to dismiss that as hyperbole or that it's just sort of name calling to say that she's a socialist. But think about the two things, three things she's done really since she became the nominee. She picked Tim Wals, who's a really far left governor, probably one of the more progressive governors in the country and who has implemented a lot of very far left policies in his state. And then she talks up not only these enormous tax hikes, But also putting price controls on food and groceries and so forth, which, by the way, to your point.
Washington Post came out against it. Washington Post owned by Jeff Bezos, who also owns Amazon and grocery stores.
So it conceivably that there are some grownups in the room saying, wait a minute, time out. This is not appropriate. I mean, this is a gimmick, I think that's what the Post called it, and not serious policymaking. Look, what I find atrocious. Is that Kamala Harris is appealing to the Bernie Bros, the 15% of twenty percent of her party that describe themselves as either very far liberal or progressive.
What about the rest of the people? What about all those people in that stadium or arena who are middle class people and they don't and they're, as you say, not terribly educated. They don't think these tax hikes will impact them. All the rhetoric about going after wealthy corporations and very rich Americans That's not us, no one under $400,000. Without a doubt, Todd, if you raise taxes on corporations, They pass those along to consumers.
That's how it works. They're not going to go into their shareholder reporting season saying, well, our earnings are down 20% because taxes are higher, we couldn't do anything about it. They're going to say, well, Taxes are up 20%, and so we made up for that by charging customers more.
So, welcome to the real world. That is how it works.
So, you know. There's not much she said that really makes any sense. That wasn't her purpose, I don't think, last night. But at some point, she's going to have to talk to people. Absolutely.
All right, Liz, we're going to leave it there. I'm going to arrange a trip. You're coming to Beale Street. We're going to get you some ribs, and we're going to Bucky's. Oh, if it's Ribs, I'm there.
Count me in, definitely. All right. I'll have Grace Baker make the arrangements. All right. All right.
Thank you so much. Liz Peak, everybody. Great journalist, incredible, and brilliant columnist. You can read her stuff on her website, also The Hill and Fox News. Follow her on social media at LizPeak.

Advertisements sponsored by Legal Help Center may not be available in all states. You're very bad. All right, welcome back. I feel a little seventies vibe going on today. Let's go to the phone lines.
Beautiful state of Oregon. Ron is hanging out with us today. K-Y-K-N. Hi, Ron. What's going on?
God bless you, my brother. The thing is this, what we got going on is not just only a personal battle. You got Jezebel, which is Kamala. You have basically Ahab. that is the current president.
And if you go behind that, And go back, looking back to the 1880s to the early till Wilson gave him pres presidency. You basically got Obama playing Crowley and Wilson. And then you throw in the LBJ Semantrics. And It is basically they they try and destroy from within send an over an over invading force in our country. And at the same time, economically, Socially.
and meant to try to div divide this country to the bits of hail. and make what what I'm saying by that purpose means just look right here in Oregon. I mean, China owns over 200,000 acres of my land, my forest up here. But nobody don't say nothing about that. but they don't realize the effects.
If you don't produce nothing, You don't have no cash flow for your state and federal. budgets. And what they're overly doing is purposely trying to kill this economy, tax us out. And at the same time Tara, listen to Lil Flay's thing. what they talked about in this administration, is that they are trying to offset our debt with our federal lands and indirectly tax those that own their land just like the Robert Barons did in Ireland and England by the British.
And yet This is brushed under the cover, just like in a kitty letter box, with all due respect. Ron. Ron, I hate to do this, but we're going to have to skedaddle here. But again, thank you for calling in. And let's bring that music down if we don't mind.
Although, we could be doing some disco if we had like a little ball or something in the studio. That would be an addition. Douglas in Georgia, welcome to the program. Hi, Douglas. What's on your mind?
Well, Tom, I might have to disagree with you on something. I was watching the broadcast last night after the Kamala Harris speech. And Brett Baer and Month McCallum did not cut Trump off. Hey Joshi. talking, talking, talking what he usually does and uh I watched the speech that he gave yesterday from Arizona.
with some of the victims of the migrants coming into the country. and uh killing their loved ones. And they were standing out there for over an hour. And uh There's a couple of us watching it and you said, That guy Trump is just going over rehashing things that he had said, and everybody's standing out there in 100-degree weather. And then he did it again.
And I was thinking to myself and the same people that were watching it last night with me, we both said, you know what? He's already said that. He doesn't need to rehash all this stuff. He needs to be more. Matter of fact, Sticking to the issues, and that's it.
You don't need to tell everybody. two or three times, and I am an avid Trump supporter. But letters, one thing that Really gets up. It's you say. Douglas, Kamala Harris's speech was 27 minutes last night, and I still felt it was too long.
Donald Trump's was well over 90 plus minutes. I'll be honest, you know, again, I mean, we all know that Trump is going to be Trump. He is going to speak, and he's not going to shave any time off of, you know, and these look, the crowd seem to enjoy it, I guess, but I hear your point.
So you're saying that Trump needs to self-edit. And just keep things tightened up. I get it. Douglas, thank you for the call. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number.
That's 901-260-5926. Again, head over to the website, ToddSterns.com. Click on the Give Life banner, our final fundraising day right here on the Todd Sterns Show. And welcome back to the Todd Cerns Radio Program. Happy to have you with us today.
Our telephone number, 901-260-5926, that's 901-260-5926. A very disturbing story out of Edmund, Oklahoma, the school, Edmund North High School, where a senior was ordered by school leaders to remove an American flag that had been posted in the back of his pickup truck. The school says that it violated school policy. The young man Caleb Horst telling local reporters he'd been flying the flag for a long time without any issues at all. The school district says they don't hate America, but they say the flag would prevent would cause a disruption or distraction.
I want to go to the Patriot Mobile newsmaker line. When I first heard this story yesterday and want to thank our friends at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Collierville, Tennessee, Justin Johnson, a good patriot, alerted me to the story based on the Facebook posting of another VFW in Oklahoma.
So we reached out to Ryan Walters, who is the best state school superintendent in America, and we knew that he would be able to help us figure out what's going on here. Ryan, good to have you back on the show today. Good to be back. Yeah, this is unacceptable. I mean, this is not our values here in Oklahoma.
We want our kids to be patriotic. We want our kids to love this country. This district has been a rogue district, and we've already started an investigation. I mean, we want young people to be proud of that American flag. As a matter of fact, we're doing a rewrite right now of our history standards in Oklahoma to emphasize American exceptionalism, to emphasize.
the founding of this country, to emphasize our founding principles. And so for a district to say it can be a distraction for a to have a flag, that is outrageous. As a matter of fact, it should not only is it not a distraction, it should be one of the primary focuses of what you are learning about in school.
So, Ryan, I want to get your reaction to what happened because the following day, Dozens of other students at the high school showed up to school with American flags on their vehicles. What does that tell you about the caliber of kids you guys are growing there in Oklahoma? That's right. You know, that is the thing here is, look, we love America here in Oklahoma. We are as patriotic as they come.
That's what we want to see from our kids. That's what we've been clear about.
So that's why I've come out to investigate the district and so clearly to state this is not this is not Oklahoma values. Those kids that want to bring an American flag to school, that's the representation of Oklahoma. That's what we want to see in our schools. And again, it's just completely unacceptable to be downplaying patriotism. Look, we see it all the time, don't we, Todd?
I mean, we see some districts that try to tell kids to hate their country, to try to undermine American exceptionalism.
Well, we're not going to allow that in Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, we're going to continue to be proud of that flag. Proud of that country and make sure that our kids share that love for the country as well. I love that.
And I love what you're doing by, again, going back to the values, the foundations that made this country the greatest on the face of the earth, the values of our founding fathers, and teaching those, implementing those teachings in the public classroom. How is that effort going? Are you getting a lot of pushback from teachers, unions, and faculty? Oh, yeah, we're getting a lot of pushback from the teachers' union. Frankly, we're getting a lot of schools who have been very thankful for our guidance here.
Remember, we're the first state to put the Bible back in school to be taught its historical context. We're putting the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, all back in the schoolhouses.
So that is the emphasis of our education system. And yeah, the radical left is attacking us like crazy. I've already got a lawsuit on it. That's pending here in a federal court here in Oklahoma. But look, the reality is, the law is on our side, our history is on our side.
Hey, it's the right thing to do. Our kids have to understand American exceptionalism. And it's been stripped from our schools. It's been stripped from our understanding of our own country. That's why you see so many adults so confused now about where the country should head.
Well, they don't even know where the country began.
So, of course, they don't know the direction the country should go in. And we are going to fix that here in Oklahoma. And again, in spite of the fights from the radical left and the teachers' union, hey, our parents are excited. They're thrilled about it. Most of our teachers are very excited about it.
Again, the union is trying to bully their way into continuing their indoctrination, but they're not going to win this. We're going to continue to lead the way here in Oklahoma. I am so happy to hear this. And again, folks, Ryan Walters, the Oklahoma State Superintendent of Schools, joining us today. Ryan, you were not mentioned by name, but at the DNC, a lot of the people getting Up and speaking, talking about the book bans, which is so dishonest, because what they're saying is they support exposing children to pornography in their public schools.
That's ultimately what they're saying. Yeah, I mean like yes, it is completely bogus. It is not a book ban to say you should have appropriate materials in your kids' school. Like, that that was called common sense just a few years ago. And then the radical left, I mean, think about this argument, Todd, and it's really, really.
The contrast to start here in Oklahoma.
So we're asking for the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bible to be in the classroom, right, Todd? They say here in Oklahoma, the leftists and the teachers' unions, no to that. But yes, the gender creator and flame are under the name of inclusivity.
So inclusivity means graphic pornography, transgenderism, but not the founding documents of this country. It shows you how disingenuous they are. Look, the DNC needs to own it. They want pornography in front of kids. They want to trans your kids.
They want them to be exposed to transgenderism at the earliest of age so that there's more transgender students. They want to break down the family unit and they want to continue to attack Christianity. You know, the reality is, this is the most un-Christian ticket. in American history. Kamala Airas And Governor Waltz, it is the most anti-Christian in their policies in California, Minnesota.
Listen to the words they say. They're telling you what they're going to do. They want to indoctrinate your kids. They want to continue to turn kids against their parents and kids against this country. And we've got to get President Trump back in the White House in November.
Well said.
Well said.
Well, Ryan, I knew, as soon as I heard about this story, I'm like, uh-oh. wait till Ryan Walters finds out about this.
So I'm glad you're on the case, and let please keep us updated. We want to know if the school reverses its policy and lets that flag fly again. Absolutely. Yes, sir. We will keep you updated.
I appreciate your fight for conservative Christian values. Thank you so much for what you're doing. All right, Ryan Walters, everybody, great patriot there in Oklahoma. And coming up in the next hour, we're going to be talking with the VFW Post there in Edmond, Oklahoma. Derek Duncan, the junior vice commander of VFW Post 4938.
We're going to be talking to him. They are really fired up about this. And God bless. God bless these kids. Doesn't that make you feel?
We don't call them goosebumps in the Baptist faith tradition. We call them Jesus bumps. Don't you get the little Jesus bumps up and down your arm when you hear these great kinds of stories about American patriotic kids? Getting out there and say, you don't tell me when I can fly the American flag. Good for you.
All right, got to take a break here, folks, and we've got to pay some bills. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. It is Open Line Friday. That's 901-260-5926. We're also going to be going through a list of some of our brand new donors this hour.
We are really knocking on the door of $10,000.
So keep those donations coming. The final day of our effort to feed poor children and provide them with clean drinking water. And, folks, it's so exciting. There are so many great Christian missionaries that are out there sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. And one of the things that we are able to do in the comfort of our homes is to help them by providing food so we can physically feed these sweet, precious children.
And you can do that for as little as $5, a one-time gift. Or if you want to give monthly, it's up to you. Whatever the Lord lays on your heart, you give. Go to ToddSterns.com, click on that give. Life banner.
Let's feed some kids today. All right. I had to tell you, may I just say, I love hosting the National Radio Show. I truly do. It is a great joy, and I love the conversations.
But there's really something pretty awesome about owning a radio station. And even if we're in a big city, we're market 51 out of 300-something radio markets. We are a pretty big-sized city here in Memphis, but it's almost like a small-town feel to the radio station. You never know who's going to drop by and have a conversation.
So many of our great listeners, they've got a good crop of tomatoes. Our great commissioner here, Amber Mills, brought me a big old grocery bag filled with Ripley tomatoes the other day. Or the guy from the William Sausage Company who occasionally drops by and will give us a free box of sausage patties from William Sausage. And so, anyway, today, I'm getting to a point. Yes, there is a point.
To all of this, Lydia. I'm getting to that.
So there was a knock on the door, and it was the FedEx guy. And the FedEx guy is like, hey, you've got a package here, but can I get one of those cool Trump signs?
So we're like, absolutely, help yourself.
So all that to say, all of you folks in the Memphis area, we are giving away free Donald Trump yard signs.
So if you would like a yard sign, come on over to the radio station. We'll be here until 5 o'clock today, 5 o'clock Central Time, and we would love to be able to give you a Donald Trump yard sign. We have the little thing that you put the sign on.
So all you have to do is put it together and put it in your front yard. And all you have to do is come here, first come, first serve. We've got about 25 or 30 or so left.
So come on by. All right, let's go to the phone lines here. Doug in North Carolina. I believe, Doug, I'm being told you have a joke to share.
Well, thank you for taking my call, Todd. Um not necessarily a joke, it's just an observation. Uh I think I might have a reason why Uh Kamala Queen Kamala chose uh coach Timmy as her running mate. He you mentioned Wednesday that he is a horse enthusiast. Maybe he checked the box on the application.
That that Says that he identifies as some kind of an animal. Maybe. Yeah, maybe he identifies as a Bronx stallion or something. Oh. Yeah, you know.
I mean, it's probably not that, but it's more like a 35-year-old trail horse that that uh when you turn them towards the bound barn, they can't even uh muster a gallop to get home. But You know, I I it you never know. I mean, uh, he he If Coach Timmy, I mean, he's a little strange. It's weird, right? It's just the mannerisms, the behavior, it's just very, very odd.
And I really don't know what to make of it, but it's just weird. I don't know of any guy that they're saying, oh, well, that's the way Midwestern guys behave. I've been to the Midwest quite a bit, and I know we have a lot of listeners in Iowa and Kansas, and like you folks in Wichita, do the men in Wichita go around like, you know, waving jazz hands? I don't think so. Waving their hands up in the air and kicking their legs and stuff.
I I think the band's weird. I thought I was gonna pull a hammy there with the way he shot that leg out like that. I'm like, whoa. Holy cow All right, Doug, thanks for the call. By the way, the reason why they did that is and they picked Timmy is because they got a testosterone problem and they thought, well, we'll just hire a football coach.
They hired they went out and hired a metrosexual football coach to be Kamala's running mate. But again, for a guy who puts tampons in boys' bathrooms, that does not exude testosterone to me. Let's go to Connor in Boston. Hi, Connor. By the way, Connor, thank you.
You made a donation to the cause, and I just really appreciate that. Anytime I donate whatever I can, and I'll tell you, you know, if Kamala gets in there. Might need to think of another donation for all the gun-toting, Bible cleaning to porable Americans so we can eat all these taxes going to charge out. I've got plenty of tomatoes. Come on by, Connor.
All right, I'll have to make a trip down there. Yeah. But I did watch her speech last night and you know, it's just like you see a lot I've seen a lot of politicians go up and lie before. But the amount of lies coming out of her mouth last night were just Yeah. From where she said about Trump's connections and Trump's endorsement on Project 25 to How she's gonna make our military.
um the most lethal fighting force ever. It's like we've so we witness the way this administration And this her administration would be a continuation of the five administration. Let's just be clear on that, but words. We saw the way this handles Afghanistan. I don't trust her for a second on that.
And when she says that our country is the greatest country, that's the first thing she's ever said that I've actually agreed with. But she was also talking about Michelle Obama being her friend. And we all know Michelle Obama's viewpoint on how great America is. It's a fair point, Connor. I'm just, my concern is that the foundations of the country have been weakened so much since Barack Obama took office, and we are now on the verge of really an inflection point.
I use that word a lot in my book, Twilight's Last Gleaming, and I said we're at an inflection point. Do we save the country or do we allow the communists to swoop in and take over? I mean, that's really where we're at right now.
Well, I think in the words of our great project we've done And we're going to fight for the greatest country that God has ever created. And nothing worth doing in life is ever easy.
So we need to fight for this country, we need to fight for what this country was founded on. And it is the greatest country in the world, the greatest country ever created. And we're going to keep it that way because there's more of us than there are of them. That's it. That's it.
Connor, good hearing from you, my friend. And thanks for listening. Have a great weekend. Let's go to Maine, WLOB. Rain is on the line.
Hi, Rain. What's on your minds? Hey Todd, how you doing? I'm well, thank you. I'm so blessed to listen to you on the radio every day.
Ray Richardson. He um actually bought my girlfriend Monique um Sir Birthday Supper. Last year over at DeMillo's Floating Restaurant. If you're ever in Maine, you ought to go see Steve over at DeMillos. But the reason why I'm calling you um I was figuring something out.
Um, last year I had a massive heart attack. Never smoked, never did drugs or anything like that. And um My surgeon told me, well, he asked me if I had the COVID shot, and I said yes. And he said he's been seeing a lot of people my age, I'm 58. um come in with heart related issues.
Um I was just wondering how you were doing. Yeah, Rain, well, thank you for that. And are I you know, I'm doing well, and I only got one of the shots, and it was the Moderna shot, and it put me in the hospital. And with a pretty serious heart ailment. And I said, that's it.
I'm done. And I heard from, you know, when I was in the hospital, I heard from many others who worked at the hospital, and they said, you know what? We're getting a lot of this. Rain, are you doing okay? Are you doing better now?
I'm doing all right. Just the medication that they have me on right now just waste my energy away. I was wondering what you're doing, get your energy.
Well, I drink way too much community coffee. I'll tell you that much, Rain. But you're right. It's good days and bad days, and you just have to kind of deal with it. And that's, you know, I had open heart surgery back in 2005, and I had a mechanical heart valve installed, the St.
Jude valve. And so I've been dealing with some genetic heart issues for many, many years. But, you know, took a lick and kept on ticking, as the late, great Louis Grousard used to say. Just like a time X, huh? That's it.
Yes, sir. And it's funny, somebody in the building, who was it? It was super quiet, and you can hear it ticking. And it's very loud. One of these days, Rain, I'll have to tell the joke.
It's really not a joke, it's a story. When I had to go in for my Secret Service interview when I was traveling with Obama back when I was at Fox, that room was super quiet, and it's so intimidating. And I'll never forget just sitting in that room with the Secret Service agent, and you could literally hear it. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. You could hear it like that loud because the more anxious you are, the louder it is.
And so the guy called out. I'm going to tell the story now. I've got a few seconds. The guy was like whispering into his jacket. Another Secret Service agent comes in and they just stand there for a few seconds.
They bring in the supervisor, and the supervisor comes over and says, Mr. He's just smiling. He says, Mr. Starns, we'd like to know why the Fox News report. Is ticking right now.
I'm like, don't tase me, bro. Don't tase me, bro. All right, Rain. God bless you, my friend. I'm glad you're doing well.
You be healthy. Folks, again, we're coming up on the final hour of our big telethon. Go to ToddStarnes.com right now and click on that give life banner. And Joe, we certainly. Appreciate your generosity and your kindness. But honestly, folks, the bulk of our donors have come from $5, $10, from all over the country.
When you add it all up, We're helping a lot of kids.
So God bless you.
Well, I want to go right now to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and say hello to Derek Duncan. He is the Junior Vice Commander at the VFW Post 4938 in Oklahoma. Derek, good to have you with us today. Hey, thank you. I've also got my Commander Brian Ford on the line as well.
All right. Well, Commander Ford, we're honored to have you as well. And, gentlemen, we just had on your state superintendent, Ryan Walters. And I'm telling you something. He's coming after that school district.
But let's tell the story because you guys, we were actually alerted to this story by the local VFW post in Collierville, Tennessee. They shared that information with us. I'm curious, Derek, what was going through your mind when you heard about what happened to this young man at the high school?
Well, I heard about it. I got a hold of my commander, Comrade Ford, and Comrade Ford, direct us on action. He's got some other actions planned on what we're going to do.
Well, let's talk about some of those actions. What are you guys going to do, Mr. Ford?
So once the BFW found out that this is going on, we immediately reached out to the family to be able to show our support as veterans. of Foreign War and let them know that first and foremost what the young man was doing is not in any way illegal or against any sort of US flag code. And once I spoke with the family. We invited them to our next Post meeting. to show our gratitude to the young excuse me, show our gratitude.
to the young man for his patriotism. And I also believe there is some form of rally that is supposed to happen Monday morning at seven point thirty in Edmond, where several Edmond residents will be showing up, myself included, with American flags on our vehicles. You know, Commander Ford, what really shocks me about this entire story is that it is happening in the state of Oklahoma, the reddest state in the entire nation. This actually kills us. We give out awards for a patriotic citizen for displaying their flag, so we're going to be giving that kid one of these flags.
But that shocks us. The town itself is making a lot of comments about how they can't believe this is happening. We also were kind of shocked when you talk about. Oklahoma being one of the reddest states, that was a comment I made to the father yesterday when I spoke to him directly yesterday afternoon. I said it surprises me that Oklahoma is one of the most patriotic states in the United States, and yet we have one of the lowest education scores in the nation, and this is what.
educators are worried about.
Well, we understand from the state school superintendent they have launched an investigation. The school is defending itself. They are saying that they are not anti-American, but they believe the flags might cause some sort of a distraction.
Well, good. I think people need to understand that that flag is important. They need to understand what that flag stands for. And quite frankly, there ought to be an American flag in every classroom in that school. Absolutely.
And a lot of the veterans right now that are currently active in the VFW here in Edmond were 9/11 veterans that watched the towers get hit in high school. September 12th is always the day that I remember, and I speak to my wife and my family about it all the time. And I tell a lot of my family and friends. that I wish that we could go back to september twelfth, when this country was the most patriotic I've ever seen it. You couldn't drive anywhere or go to anyone's house without seeing an American flag everywhere And a lot of us that were in high school that day turned around and joined the military the very chance we got to serve our country.
Commander, I remember that day vividly, and I remember driving by several recruiting stations on September 12th, September 13th, and to see the lines of young men standing up and standing in those lines ready to sign up to go to war because we all knew we were going to war. At that moment, we didn't know who we were going to go fight, but we knew we were going to be fighting somebody. And it just reminded so many of the old timers of what happened in this country right after Pearl Harbor.
Well, absolutely insane is some of these students that are rallying together, a lot of them voice their support of why they're flying the flag is because they have brothers and sisters and cousins and parents who are currently serving overseas. And they look at that as having that flag as a way of supporting their family who are currently serving. And they voiced that to the administration, and the administration could only come out with, we don't have a policy, just in practice, we don't like it.
So guys, I'll let you guys kind of reminded me of september twelfth in a way when I saw that That news interview, and the helicopter was flying over the school, and you saw all those friends out there with flags on their truck. That was the first thing that came to my mind was September 12th, because I saw a bunch of young men that were the same age as me when 9-11 happened, and they're standing up for their country and showing their patriotism and showing their pride in the country that they live in and go to school in. All right, guys, real quick before we have to wrap this up, and I'd like both of you to answer this question. What does it say to you about the young people there at the high school? Because my understanding is that many other students are now showing up at school with American flags posted on their trucks and their cars.
Derek, we'll start with you, and we'll end with the commander.
So to me, it's a great sign. Edmond North has a rich history of kids signing up and joining the military. Edmond has a rich history of that. One of our schools is Memorial, which is named for the Memorial Six, six of our young men from Edmond who were killed in Vietnam. We have so much patriotism in this city And we've been such great supporters.
We've been in this city, our VFW Post four nine three eight. Francis Hamilton has been in here since 1945. from guys returning from war. our city has made this such a huge thing of who we are And then to have the school Say, look, we don't want the American flag being flown on vehicles. They actually won't allow it in any form other than stickers.
They said they don't want to see patches, they don't want to see other things like that. It's so disappointing, but it's so uplifting to see young people say, No, we're standing for the American flag. The American flag represents every American, no matter background or differences, it represents us all. And we don't want to use this as a way of beating or a kludgel, they're using this as we're united as all Americans. And Commander?
For me, what it showed yesterday was seeing that on the news reminded me that there are still young men and women who take a lot of pride in this country. They take a lot of pride in their town, in their school, and they're willing to stand up For their freedoms and continue those freedoms even outside. Of high school. It shows me that there are still men and women out there that want to join the military and they want to support the United States.
Well, well said, gentlemen, and I hope you know this radio program. We're on 170 stations around the nation, and we support our military, and we support young American patriots. Commander Ford, Vice Commander Duncan, God bless you, and the VFW post there. Thank you for bringing this to the nation's attention. Thank you for having us.
And we're going to keep following this story on via our Facebook and our social medias, VFW 4938. All right. And we're going to post links on our live show blog, folks. You can go and check out the great work. It is a very active VFW post.
Go check out what they're doing on Facebook. We're going to post links, though, VFW Post 4938. Gentlemen, thank you very much, and we appreciate you coming on the Todd Stearns radio show. All right, folks, here's the deal. Thank you for having us.
All right. We're going to take a break here, and we have when we come back. We're going to go through the list of our brand new donors. We are very, very close to meeting our goal and exceeding our goal.
So, we need you right now to go to ToddSterns.com, click on the Give Life banner, that big red banner at the top of the page, and you'll be able to donate money to the cause. We're going to be taking your calls as well. You just heard from the VFW post. My question is: what message do you want to send to those young people in Oklahoma? We've got a lot of folks in Oklahoma listening to this radio station, our great affiliate in Bartlesville, near Tulsa.
What encouragement do you want to share with those kids? 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, let's go to Ohio, Youngstown, Ohio. A great affiliate out there, Pastor Hal joins us.
Hello, Hal. What's on your mind today? Yeah, Tadino, as you know, that the American flag has always stood for God and country. Those two things are what the American Democrats' party is totally against And you know, if that kid would have put up a flag that commemorated communism or hummus. or one of the pervert uh flags, he probably would have got a pat on the back by the the school system because they are totally under the control of uh left wing America Haitian schools uh the the Democrat Party.
Now that's that's where all this flag's happening. Yeah, no, it's a great point, Hal. And if it had been any other flag, you better believe they would have allowed those kids to fly that flag. What troubles me is something the VFW Post guy said that the kids were not even allowed to wear American flag patches. That tells me they've got an infestation of leftist and wokeism in that school.
It's filled with traitors and cowards, Todd. Traitors and cowards. That's who's who running this country and supporting the the Democrats. Hal, I couldn't have said it better. Thank you, and God bless you.
We are now getting some breaking news. The Associated Press is reporting that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be endorsing Donald Trump for president.
Now, in just a few moments, RFK Jr. is going to be holding a press briefing where it is expected that he will drop out of the race. He was actually polling. He was not doing too badly in the polls. Going back, the only successful independent candidate that ran was Ross Perot.
By the way, Ross Perot pulled so many votes away from George H.W. Bush that it gave Bill Clinton the presidency.
So, this is a good sign. We understand, again, RFK Jr. will endorse Donald Trump. There had been some speculation that Trump might invite RFK Jr. to be in the cabinet.
And my question to you on this Open Line Friday: would you like to see RFK Jr. in the Trump cabinet? Would you like to see Elon Musk in the Trump cabinet? And if so, what positions would you like to see them filling in that cabinet?
So, our number again, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. Also, and I told you about this in the early part of the show, the Trump team is very upset right now with the Secret Service. And we now can report that as many as five Secret Service agents have been put on leave following the Trump assassination attempt. All of this happening nearly six weeks after Trump was nearly assassinated.
They nearly blew the guy's head off. One member of Trump's personal protective team and four members of the Secret Service's Pittsburgh Field Office, including the special agent in charge, have been sidelined. They are still getting a paycheck. Why? Why are they still employed is what I want to know.
The news comes. This is from Fox News. The news comes after the Secret Service concluded internal interviews to understand how Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to fire several shots. From a building. The Secret Service was not able to conduct the interviews right away because the FBI was interviewing them for a separate criminal investigation.
Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri revealed on Friday that a Secret Service whistleblower has come forward. At Secret Service, and that officials at Secret Service headquarters encouraged agents in charge of the rally to not request any extra security assets in their formal planning request.
So they were either A, trying to be cheap. Or B. They wanted to make sure that Trump was out there exposed. One or the other, folks. One or the other.
Let's go to Tennessee. Ted listening to us on WTJS in West Tennessee. Hi, Ted. What's going on? Well, I am just happy happy as a Clem to be able to talk to you today.
Well, thank you, Ted. Appreciate that. And uh I do enjoy the book you sent me. Uh Man, I'll tell you what. We are in trouble if we don't stand up and get up and vote and do what we're supposed to do.
But uh the reason for my call, the uh unrealized capital gains tax that uh Camela or K6 or whatever her name is is talking about. Um For people who are, I guess, have value at $100 million or more. as it escalates or as it grows, If I was in that position, I would want the judge. Who valued Mor-a-Lago at only $18 million to be doing my property assessment? Yes, sir, Ted.
I'm with you on that. Have a wonderful weekend. All right, Ted. Thanks for that good laugh. You see, this is why I love you guys.
You phone in, and you guys understand what's going on, and you just get right to the heart of it. That's pretty brilliant. Ted, thank you. Let's go to Virginia, the beautiful Commonwealth. Joan is hanging out with us today.
Hi, Joan. What's on your mind?
Hi, Todd. Answering your question, I don't agree with R. F. Kennedy. On everything, but I do like some of his ideas, and I think he might make a great attorney general.
Maybe you could go after some of the corruption in the Justice Department. And then as far as Elon Musk, I think he'd be a great choice too. But I'm not sure he's got so many talents, I don't know what I would think he would do. And I have to think about that a little bit longer. Joan, I would just love to see like some like I know some Executives, maybe a coalition of executives, people like Elon Musk, our friend from the Shark Tank, maybe get the guy from Bar Rescue and just get these guys together and have them just go in and just line by line say, you know what, we don't need a trillion dollars here.
We don't need a trillion dollars there, and help us balance the budget like they would do in their companies and their businesses. Right, and get maybe get the uh Running of the schools back to the areas right back to the people.
So you'd like to see the Department of You'd like to see the Education Department dismantled. Right. Joan, I think that's a terrific idea. Joan, appreciate that call. Thank you, and have a great Friday.
Joan says, RFK Jr. for Attorney General. What say you, ladies and gentlemen? RFK is expected to speak in Phoenix. Newsmax will be broadcasting that live.
What say you? 901-260-5926. Again. The final half hour of our fundraising effort. Head over.
We are so close to meeting our goal. Go to ToddSterns.com, click on that Give Life banner. We'll be right back, folks. And welcome back, everybody. This is the Todd Stearns radio program.
Interesting survey. College students lack a rudimentary knowledge of history and civics. This is when we need to have Murph from Germantown call in. Murph is a retired history teacher in the taxpayer-funded education system. According to the college fix, there was a survey, it's really called a civic literacy assessment conducted by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni.
So they interviewed more than 3,000 students from all 50 states, and they were honing in on two issues, history and government. They wanted to see what the students knew about history and government. 35 question survey. And so they were asked all a series of questions. For example, how long is a term in the U.S.
Senate? They were asked to identify a quote from the Gettysburg Address.
So the survey was conducted in June.
Now, according to the college fix, Many students are completely tuned out to politics, and they lacked any knowledge to participate effectively. When asked who the current President of the U.S. Senate is, only twenty seven percent of students were able to correctly identify that person as Kamala Harris. Over a quarter of the students thought it was Joe Biden. Many students unaware that the length of a U.S.
Senate term is six years. Almost a third thought it was a four year term. Nearly a fifth incorrectly said representatives to the House of Re to the U. S. House serve a four year term.
Just ignorance. 37% of the students correctly identified the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. 32% said they did not know. Hillsdale professor Wilfred McClay told the college fix. He was appalled and saddened.
By another disturbing finding of the survey, 57% of students, 57% would flee the country rather than stay and fight. In the case of an invasion. What does that tell you about it? It's not what does that tell you about America. What does that tell you about our taxpayer-funded school system?
What does that tell you about our schools? Professor McClay says this reflects a social malady, a sickness of the soul. that runs deeper than just a lack of knowledge. But one of the best ways to begin combating that malady is by rededicating ourselves to a proper civic and historical education. Folks, as I wrote in my book, Twilight's Last Gleaming, can America be saved.
It is incumbent upon the American people to take personal responsibility for educating their children and their grandchildren, their nieces and nephews, about American history. Do not rely on the taxpayer funded school system to do that for you. Because if you do, your kid is, A, they're going to come out stupid, and number two, they're going to come out a communist. That's what's going to happen.
So you've got to get a handle on that. nine oh one two six zero five nine two six. Are there any public schools out there that are actually doing a good job of teaching kids American history? You see, this is why you actually need a conservative history teacher on your faculty. Make sure kids are getting the truth.
901-260-5926. Now, as I mentioned, we are in the final stages of our big fundraising effort here. We are Doing, I believe, noble work. For the past couple of weeks, we have been raising money. for impoverished children.
Children who go to bed hungry. Children who do not have access to clean drinking water. And we've our goal is $10,000. And we're working hard to meet that goal. Right now We are about, it looks like $700 away from our goal.
And these figures are not updated in real time, so we may be a little bit closer than that. But that's where we are right now. We need $700 or so and some change to meet our goal. And that goal is $10,000. And you will be feeding children.
Thousands of children are going to get hot meals, nutritious meals. Thanks to you. And I want to go through and share some of our great donors here. Pamela S, by the way, making a one-time donation of $100. Richard W.
making a one-time donation of $10. Thank you for that, Richard. Eric H, $100. By the way, you $100 donors, be sure to call Lydia.
So she can get your information, and we're going to send you a signed copy of Twilight's Last Gleaming. Just my way of saying thank you for being a part of all of this. Connor, making another donation. He was just on the phone line, made another donation of $5. One of our great young millennials.
Thank you, Connor. Appreciate you. You're a good patriot. Diana Thank you for that $50 donation. And Susan S.
$10. Donna C, $5. Making a dedicated one-time donation. There's our good buddy Joe from Ella J, up in the North Georgia Mountains. $1,000.
So Joe's. Joe's a great patriot. Thank you, Joe. Appreciate that. We also understand that Dennis O just dropped in five bucks.
Thank you for that, Joanne. A hundred dollars, John S fifty dollars, Gary S twenty dollars. Mark, $50, all of this money is going to help children. You know, what does it say about the kindness and the generosity of this great audience? You guys are helping strangers.
You may never meet. The person, the child that's getting. Getting this meal. You may never meet that person. But you will one day in heaven.
We all believe that, right? There's going to be great reunions. And I can't imagine, I think the most special reunions are going to be those people that you meet that are maybe strangers or maybe somebody you helped and they had no idea that you were the anonymous gift donor. Behind them going to college or Getting a used car, or maybe you paid somebody's electric bill. Those are the kinds of reunions that I'm pretty excited about once we hit the pearly gates.
So again, ToddSterns.com. We've got, well, about 20 minutes. And then we're going to wrap up our Big radio-thon, and this is our inaugural radio-thon. We haven't done anything quite like this before, so this is sort of new to us, and it's been a great joy watching so many people getting involved. All right, here's the deal: we are going to take a break.
We're going to check in with our friends from Food for the Poor when we come back, Daniel Petino.
So, looking forward to chatting with him. We're going to be taking your calls as well. We are expecting RFK Jr. to come out and speak any moment. We are monitoring that.
Newsmax 2, you can watch it live on YouTube, and they're going to be able to, you'll be able to watch the breaking news press conference when that happens. But the Associated Press.
Now reporting that RFK Jr. will, in fact, endorse Donald Trump. He is expected to be a part of the rally tonight in Glendale. We will be broadcasting all of that on Newsmax exclusively.
So you won't be able to watch that rally any other place in its entirety than Newsmax. All right, let's go to the phone lines here. I want to talk to Bess in Georgia. Bess, I sure do appreciate you calling in. What's on your mind today?
Hi, Sora. just call this The story of two sons. I have one son. who um well those phones were raised as Conservative, Christian, Republicans. One son stayed close to home and went to a local college And now he's a teacher in the local system.
And he teaches conservative Republican values. the best he can and he teaches Georgia history. and middle school. And we're so proud of him. He's the deacon of the church.
We'll have another stun. Are you still there? Yes, ma'am. I'm listening.
Okay. We have another son. Who won full rides to UGA and Virginia Tech? His doctoral committee chairman was a Richmond, Francois. And this son is now a Raging Marxist.
Oh no. Yeah, so it's possible to have I have two children, raised the same, and one can be Um Helping the good cause is you and us. You and I would say, and the other is on the other side.
So, do you have any advice for me?
Well, um so so the the son who stayed close to home, what school did he go to? He went to North Georgia College. I do know over in Dahlonega. Yeah, near Dahlonega, Georgia. You had the big gold rush there back in the day.
Bess, you know, the challenge there is, and how old are your sons? Thirty-four and thirty-seven. Yeah, I the older one teaches at a um college and North Carolina. Unfortunately, he teaches political philosophy and philosophy. You know, aside from prayer and just a constant serving of conservative values and teachings, that's going to be a tough sell.
And that's why going to those state schools is really dangerous. And I think a lot of parents, and maybe the message here is for parents whose kids are getting ready to go to college, is do your homework and make sure that those colleges that you're sending your kids to are going to be rock solid. Make sure they're not going to some sort of a communist indoctrination camp. Like you mentioned. Mm-hmm.
Yeah, you're right. thought man i went to uga in the yeah 80s who would who would have thought the political science department uga would um be leaning that way but may i recommend i know there's a wonderful school and you might be able to get some guidance here um from our friends at truitt mcconnell university it's in cleveland uh georgia and they are a rock-solid conservative school and maybe maybe call up and and tell them i said to call and they might be able to connect you with uh some political science folks there who could really help you and maybe give you some counsel on hey how do you you know how do you reach out to your son and you know address some of these political beliefs he may have Mostly I've been It um use in prior. Prayer is work. Prayer is great, and True at McConnell is great, too.

So we've got a lot going on as we gear up for President Trump's big rally coming up later tonight in Glendale, Arizona. Want to go right now and right away to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Ladies and gentlemen, I just checked our working numbers. We are $204 away from meeting our goal today.
So head over to the website and click on that red Give Life banner. I want to bring into the conversation Daniel Petino from Food for the Poor. And Daniel, what a blessing it has been. I know our listeners have been so excited to donate money to such an incredible and Beautiful cause. Thanks, Todd.
Yes, I just want to bring for the person who this generosity is going to. Families like Gloria's that right now are facing unimaginable hardships every day. I mean, they sift their garbage dumps desperately searching for anything edible to sustain themselves. But too often, their efforts come up empty-handed.
So, in the moments of despair, Glory and her children are left with no choice but to drink water to fill their bellies. And they pray to God for a miracle, hoping that tomorrow will bring them something, anything, anything to eat. But today, you can be the answer to those prayers. With your one-time gift of just $100, you can provide two children with food for an entire year. Yes.
That's 365 days, an entire year, of ensuring that families like Gloria's. don't have to risk their lives searching through dangerous garbage stumps just for a meal.
So think about the impact you can make. Your generosity can prevent children from facing the dangers of hunger. and give them a chance to live with the security and nourishment they deserve. And I think we just you just hit it on the nail top, two hundred and four dollars away from the goal.
Well, how can we get there? I think texting Todd, right? T-O-D-D to 51-555 will get us there. That's right. Text Todd to 51555.
You can also call the special toll-free number, folks, 855-353-4673. That's 855-353-4673. Daniel, let's listen to, you mentioned Gloria. I think we have a little bit of audio from Gloria. Yes.
My children go out every day searching for food. They go to the garbage dump every day, especially on Thursdays when we have seen cars and trucks bringing the trash from other cities. Many times they just don't find anything, so they come back empty-handed and we just sit here and pray to God that the next day we'll have something, and on that day we only drink water. I mean, when I hear those kinds of stories and those testimonies of people that these children were getting food out of the garbage dumpster. Um and to know that some of our listeners are going to be able to provide these kids with delicious, hot, and nutritious meals, uh, that just makes it all worthwhile.
It does. And again, $100 is going to give two kids the chance to not have to go in a garbage dump every Thursday. Let this, let yesterday, let Thursday be the last Thursday they have to get to these garbage dumps because it's heartbreaking alone. They have to look for food in a garbage dump, and then they have to drink water that it's not the tap water that you and I have. I mean, I'll go to the length of even drinking toilet water from my own home if I have to, because I know that's clean enough.
They don't have that luxury. And this is the heartbreaking reality for many of the families who struggle every day just to meet those basic needs. And these children, again, they face enormous challenges. It's not just about hunger. They also have to endure the exhausting and often dangerous journey to find clean water.
Some something so essential that most of us take for granted, th the water they often find, not safe. it exposes them to illness that can just be just as deadly as hunger. And it's a daily fight for survival, but you have the power to change this once again with a onetime gift. Of $100. You can provide two children two meals a day for an entire year.
Think about that. Generosity means a year's worth of security, nourishment, and hope.
Okay, Daniel, got to leave it there. We are coming up on the top of the hour, but it has been a great honor for us to be a part of this noble effort. And we certainly thank all of you folks over at Food for the Poor. And we appreciate you coming onto the program. But most importantly, we thank you for the incredible ministry that you are providing these children.
And we're just excited to be a part of it. Daniel Petino, everybody, from Food for the Poor. And again, as we are wrapping up our time here, you still have time to go to our website, click on that Give Life banner. We're just $204 away from reaching our goal. And I just want to say thank you for your generosity and your patience as we have been doing this for three weeks now.
God bless you all. All right, we've got to call it a day here, and I want to say hello to. Dylan, and hope he has a great day on his bachelor party weekend in Gatlinburg. Hope you have a great Friday as well, and whatever you do, folks, be sure to go to church this weekend.
