Todd Sterns discusses the latest polling data showing Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump, the importance of focusing on the issues rather than personal attacks, and the need for the Republican Party to get its messaging right to win the 2024 election. He also talks about the recent election in Memphis, Tennessee, where a radical activist was elected as the clerk of the general sessions court, and the need for President Trump to surround himself with people who can help him navigate the complexities of the election.

Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. That's right. I love this American ride.

Well, hello, everybody. Happy Friday. to you. Wow. Um Some interesting, interesting information coming out.

And again, I When I share this with you, I don't want you to panic. Again, ladies and gentlemen, we are. We are still in this Kamala Harris honeymoon phase. But it's important to check out some of the polling data, especially on the positive pro-Trump polling side. And Scott Rasmussen has some numbers out today that have a little folks nervous suggesting that Kamala Harris, and again, this is Scott Rasmussen, who is typically his polls always skew very positive for Trump.

And Rasmussen's polling data is pretty, well, it's pretty accurate.

So anyway, Rasmussen has a new survey, a new poll out today showing that Kamala Harris is up five points now over Donald Trump.

So you can take that information and do with it what you will. I am not ready to hit the panic button. As a matter of fact, I think we're a couple of weeks away from having to hit any sort of a panic button if these numbers continue to hold. And I want to explain why. The mainstream media right now is totally.

Kamala Harris's water. And they're going to do that through November, folks. You just have to go ahead and accept the fact that Kamala Harris is going to get incredible media coverage. What I find fascinating here, and the media is they're going to be forced to address this issue. Uh up until uh well uh noon oh seven There has not been a single interview done by any major network with Kamala Harris.

Not a one. She's refusing to sit down and do any interviews with anybody. That is very unusual. Also, she has not held a press conference, not a single press conference.

So her campaign philosophy is we're going to keep Kamala Harris in the basement. We're not going to have her say anything. We're not going to have her out there doing sit down interviews. And she very well could be the first president elected without doing a single media interview. Kamala Harris refused to even sit down with the National Association of Black Journalists this week.

A story that is still generating headlines for President Donald Trump.

So again, sooner or later, the media is going to have to step up and say, you know what, she's not talking to us. And here's the reason why, and this is the reason why they're not letting Kamala do any press conferences. They are terrified of getting her off script, terrified. And I want to give you an example of this. Last night, when the prisoners came back to the United States from Russia, and we'll get to that story in a moment.

But when the prisoners came off the plane, Kamala and Biden were there. By the way, did you see Biden? After the prisoners came off of the plane, Biden was a woman. Biden's standing there on the tarmac. All of a sudden, Biden just walks up.

Gets on board the plane like he's going somewhere. Everybody's on the tarmac going, what the heck is going on here? We've got the video up at ToddSterns.com. It's really fascinating, and I would encourage you to go check that out. Anyway, Kamala's out there.

And so she goes off script, and I want you to hear what she had to say, cut number five. This is just an extraordinary testament to the importance of having a President who understands the power of diplomacy and understands the strength that rests in understanding the significance of diplomacy and strengthening alliances. This is an incredible day. What? What is she talking about?

She's making no sense there.

So this is why they're not letting Kamala out to talk to the media, because they're afraid that the American people will realize that she is a bit on the ding bat side. And she may be a lot on the ding bat side, but I still think a lot of this. is something of an act. And that she wants to appear to be some sort of a Ditzy Broad, a Deanbat, if you will, when in fact she is a radical Marxist. And it's true.

I think you yeah, I think that's true. I guess you could be a radical Marxist and a ding bat as well. I suppose that's possible.

Okay, I'll give you that.

So anyway, the polling data out there is looking very favorable for Kabbalah. Again, honeymoon period. But I will have to confess to you, the Scott Rasmussen numbers caught my eye.

So the question now is, are those rock solid numbers or is this part of the honeymoon phase? I'm going to throw it out to you. What do you think here, ladies and gentlemen? 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

It is also Open Line Friday, and we're going to be taking your calls. Whatever you want to talk about today, we are going to talk about.

So.

Someone sent me a note. Don, did you hear about Kyle Rittenhouse? He's he's abandoned Trump. I'm like, what? I forgot about that kid.

So, Kyle Rittenhouse is the kid, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Opened fire during the whole riots there, and he came under attack, and he was trying to save his life, and he shot three people. Anyway, He did everything he was supposed to do. I mean, if you were in the same situation, and I've never had an issue with that. But what I have had an issue with, and I've been pretty vocal about this on this radio program.

First of all, let's play what Kyle Rittenhouse had to say last night about one Donald J. Trump, cut number 10. Hi, I'm Kyle Rittenhouse, outreach director for Texas Gun Rights. A lot of people are upset that I said I'm going to be writing in Ron Paul for President of the United States. And that is true.

I will be writing in Ron Paul. Unfortunately, Donald Trump had bad advisors making him bad on the Second Amendment, and that is my issue. If you cannot be completely uncompromisable on the Second Amendment, I will not vote for you, and I will write somebody else in. We need champions for the Second Amendment, or our rights will be eaten away and eroded each day. I support my decision, and I have no takebacks.

No takebacks? What is this? A playground? Come on. Look, so here's the deal.

I will say what I've said all along, told you so. This, look, the. The kid went through something very traumatic, never got counseling, never got the help he needed. Know what happened? They put him up on the stage and they make him some sort of a conservative celebrity.

Nobody even knew if the kid was conservative. And I will say that a turning point USA brought this kid to Memphis. And I don't know if I've actually told the full story of how all this went down, but I think I'm going to today, mainly because this angers me. We have a bad, bad habit in the Republican Party of elevating people who have either just had some sort of a political conversion or something, and we make them like the poster child for the entire movement. And this happened with Kyle Rittenhouse.

And I remember at the time, I fielded a lot of angry messages from people. You know, how dare you, how dare you question this kid's motives? And I'm not questioning the kid's motives. I'm questioning the motives of the people that are using this kid and putting him up on this platform that he did not need to be on. This young man should have gotten counseling.

This young man should have gotten help getting into school. This young man should have been given the opportunities to lead something of a normal life after that horrible tragedy. that happened in Wisconsin. That's what should have happened. But no, that no no, what they did was they elevated this guy and put him out on the speaker circuit.

I'm talking about turning point. And so they brought this guy. To Memphis. And I'm just. I'm just going to share what happened with you, ladies and gentlemen, because this bothered me then and it still bothers me today.

So we have a Turning Point USA chapter at the University of Memphis. And we heard that Rittenhouse was coming, and they always ask us to promote it whenever they have guest speakers coming in, which we were happy to do. But right away, I realized that this was going to cause mass chaos in this city. And I reached out to the turning point folks and I said, hey, guys, I hear that you're bringing Rittenhouse in. You need to be aware of.

Of what could happen here because there's a lot of scuttlebutt, there's a lot of talk about possible violence. Want to make sure that you guys have the security in place that you need. And they didn't. They did not. And it was complete chaos.

Rittenhouse got up there and maybe spoke for a couple of minutes and then had to be rushed off the stage, and it was just a great big mess. Sure.

So again, my issue, and by the way, the Christian world does the same thing.

Somebody accepts Christ as their Savior, the next thing you know, they're becoming the poster child for the Christian movement. Wait, what? How did that happen?

So, anyway, I'm not surprised that Rittenhouse has basically stabbed President Trump in the back here. But then again, he's what, 20 years old, 21 years old? I mean, what do you expect? He's a kid. He's still formulating whatever political views he has.

And what bothers me here is, we are elevating these people and we're making them the poster child or children of the movement when, in fact, they are not.

So there you go. It is what it is. And I hate it, but you know, we did not platform Kyle Rittenhouse on this show. And there was a reason why. I mean, it really is that simple.

All right, we've got to take a quick break here: 901-260-5926. It is Open Line Friday. That's 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Sterns Show. Hi, this is Todd Stearns.

Today, you have the power to relieve suffering for children throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Now, these are children who do not have reliable access to the essentials of life, like food or clean water. But today, you can change that. I'm partnering with Food for the Poor to rush emergency food relief to hungry children and to provide a community with access to water.

Now, this is a headline that you can do something about. Today, because of a match, your generous gift of $200 provides four children with a year's worth of food and helps the community gain access to fresh water. There are several ways to make your gift. Go to ToddSterns.com and click on the red Give Life banner, or you can call my toll-free number at 855-353-465. That's ToddSterns.com.

Click on the red Give Life banner or call my toll-free number 855-353-HOPE. Wow, those job numbers are not looking good, everybody. Unemployment shooting up to 4.3%. The latest job numbers, 114 jobs only, 114,000 jobs created in July. And there are a lot of economists out there that are now warning that we are in the early stages of a recession.

I'm telling you, boots on the ground. I don't know what it's like in your community. We are watching a lot of restaurants, a lot of small mom and pop businesses going belly up around the Memphis area. And a lot of that has to do with. With crime here in our city, which is an anomaly that many of you, many of you do not have the level of crime that we have here in Memphis.

But still, that's a big part of it. Right now, looking at these numbers, and I want you to understand what's actually going on in the economy right now. You've got about 1.2 million native-born Americans. Who lost their job over the past year? All right, 1.2 million American-born citizens losing their jobs over the last year.

Meanwhile, the One point. three million foreign-born workers found jobs.

Now you can Call that a replacement theory, if you would like. But if you're looking at over a million American-born citizens who lost jobs and over a million foreign Foreign-born workers who found jobs, that tells me that there is a replacement theory going on. There is something to that. By the way, Kamala Harris owns all of this, owns every single bit of it. They are painting her, portraying her as the face of the failed Biden administration.

She's the one responsible for all of this. Again, they're saying we're in the early stages of a recession. I would contend in some places in America right now, we are in. A recession. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number.

That's 901-260-5926. By the way, somebody found this great audio. From back when uh Kamala was a senator. And she was raging, raging about all of you people out there who say, Merry Christmas, cut number six. And when we all sing happy tunes and sing Merry Christmas and wish each other Merry Christmas, these children are not going to have a Merry Christmas.

How dare we speak Merry Christmas How dare we? All right. What about Kwanzaa? Happy Kwanzaa. Is that inappropriate too, Kambala?

Just asking.

So, look, she was talking about the illegals and the dreamers.

Now, the dreamers are the offspring of the illegals, or they are children who came here as a small, they were very small when they crossed the border with mommy and daddy. And there was an effort to get them to go back to wherever they came from. And Kamala was out there. All of this was happening around Christmas time. How dare you, how dare all you people say Merry Christmas!

How dare you? And again, I go back to this argument. That we've got a lot of people in this country who are going without. And until we take care of the needs of the American-born people, we don't have time, we don't have resources to care for the illegal aliens. I mean, it really is that simple.

901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. By the way, all these people out there attacking Trump over the whole is she black or Indian, this is Sonny Hostin on The View just a few months ago. Cut number 13. Nikki Haley's gone by Nikki since she was a child.

It's documented in high school. I wouldn't be shocked that somebody, an Indian woman growing up in South Carolina at that time, she actually did to avoid prejudice.

So I just want to be careful about critiquing people going by their prejudice. There's some of us that can be chameleons and decide not to embrace our ethnicity so that we can pass. I don't think that's fair. I think if she leaned into it, a ton of people don't go by their color. Wait, seriously, to question someone's racial identity, especially him.

Especially him. The bar has fallen so low.

So, just a few months ago, Sonny Hostin was out there questioning Nikki Haley's ethnicity. But again, ladies and gentlemen, is that the argument that we need to be having right now? Is that what the Trump campaign should be focusing on, whether or not Kamala Harris is Indian or black? What advice would you give? The Trump Administration.

Or the Trump campaign right now. 901-260-5926. Let's go to Tom in Georgia. Hey, Tom, what's on your mind today? Hey, we got um faith?

Family freedom and fun.

So, since it's Friday, maybe we can have a little fun. But to answer your question, That you just posed. Trump should be handling the issues and the differences in his record and what he's been able to accomplish and what he's stood up against, and the fact that he's. We're blessed that he's still with us. that those kinds of things rather than this goofy stuff.

Now, here's a Republican. Uh Add. Kamala Harris. On the SF Banana Republic, wearing flip flops, which are featured, you know, in an exaggerated way. on her feet because of all the flip flopping she's done and it continues to do and the media doesn't even callers to c account on it.

I like it. The USS Banana Republic. And she's wearing flip-flops. There you go. Go with it.

Tom. I love that, Tom. Thank you for the call. Yeah, that's good. 901-260-5926.

The Friday edition of the Todd Stearns Radio Show. President Trump writing this on True Social, I went 10 for 10 on endorsements in the great state of Tennessee, including Bobby Harshbarger running against a strong long-term incumbent supported by Rhino Governor Bill Lee. A great day for Tennessee, now on to a complete and total victory in November, MAGA 2024. One of the people President Trump endorsed happens to be on our Patriot Mobile newsmaker line. She's the person I voted for on Election Day, my Senator Marsha Blackbird.

Senator, good to have you with us today, and congratulations. Thank you so much. It is so good to be with you. And it was a good, solid election day. And when you look at the numbers, Republicans And independents and individuals showed up voting in that Republican primary and giving us some solid wins.

Here in West Tennessee, you and David Kustoff are the Republican duo, and Kustoff is my congressman.

So it was really an honor to be able to vote for both of you. And, Senator, you have been out there on the campaign trail. You've been out there meeting with your constituents. And I'm just curious: what's the mood of the electorate? What's the vibe out there?

And the binding is a lot of energy. They want to make certain that President Trump wins. And Todd, you know, one of the things that people talk to me all the time about is they are so fearful of losing their freedoms, of losing their shot at the American dream, of having their kids grow up in a world where government controls everything you do from daylight to dark. And they are watching this election closely because of that. And when you look at the agenda of Kamala Harris, who would open our border and believes in an open border, who would let illegal aliens vote.

who thinks you should make cops into criminals and turn criminals into victims. when there's somebody who was the deciding vote. In that Inflation Reduction Act, which has been one of the drivers. of inflation hitting twenty percent since Joe Biden took office. When you look at the Green New Deal and the fact that she would end she would end oil and gas production in the U.

S. She would do a gun confiscation buyback, and she would Take away your private health insurance. She thinks we should completely do away. with health insurance, and it should all be run by the federal government. That is the radical nature of her agenda in 2019 when I was ranked the most conservative member of the U.S.

Senate. She was ranked the most liberal. And people are looking at this record and they're saying, hey, wait a minute. How could we go from bad to worse, but it looks like we did.

Well, we certainly did. And the thing that gets me, I know everybody's focusing on is she Indian American? Is she black? The cackle, the word salad. I'm more concerned about her policies, and she does have a record, Senator, and that's what concerns me is, you know, she comes from a family.

Her father was a Marxist economist, and I'm concerned the apple did not fall far from that tree. And that concerns me too, is her policies and her beliefs. And you know, Todd, I know the mainstream media is out there and they're trying to change what her beliefs are and say, well, no, she really doesn't want to end oil and gas. She really doesn't want to end cash bail. she really wants to secure the border.

But you know, the she has had these other policies, and she's been very open about it. And they are trying to do this.

So that they can change. the perception on her and have her win that election. Isn't it interesting, though, she is yet to do a single press conference. She's refused to sit down even with friendly media over at MSDNC. I mean, what do you why do you think that is?

Well, because they're trying to run the Joe Biden basement campaign strategy. They do not want her to talk with anyone. And they are going to script her very tightly. They're going to have her talk off of a teleprompter, which she is doing at her rallies. She doesn't stand up there and talk about what she believes.

She reads what is on the teleprompter. And we need to be paying close attention to this. The other big story we've been following, and I know we've had a couple of lawmakers on who were appointed to the Joint Task Force looking into the attempted assassination. It just seems like every single day we get more information that leads to just more questions. And Senator, there is a brand new poll out from the Associated Press.

Only three in ten Americans are confident that they can trust The Secret Service. Are you surprised by that number? Shit. I am not surprised by that number. When you can go back and look at the fact the Secret Service couldn't come forward with information for us, about what happened.

July thirteenth, the night of the shooting, I Called, put in a call for Kimberly Cheadle, who was then the director of the Secret Service. She did not call me back on that following Wednesday. Senators had a phone conversation. Where she laid out a few facts, nothing really pertinent, opened a question queue. Cut it off.

After four questions, three of those coming from Democrats. And We couldn't get our questions answered.

So, when Senator Barrazo Kramer and I found out that she was there in the building. After Republican convention, we went to the suite where she was, asked for her time, introduced ourselves. said we had questions. We were in the queue. She said she was hosting a reception.

She is there in a luxury suite. hosting a reception. She said it wasn't the time and place. We offered to move somewhere quiet, If she didn't want to do that, She would not hear our questions because she didn't want to interrupt the. the evening.

And then of course, as you've seen from the video, she walks away from us and then breaks in a run. But the questions remain. An hour out, they knew they had a suspicious person. At five point fifty one, they knew they had a potential threat. At five point fifty three, they alerted the sharpshooters.

Somebody in the Secret Service cleared Donald Trump to go on that stage at 6 o'clock. They still have not told us what the day of action plan was. They have not told us who was in charge of execution of that plan. They can answer questions. which is what I asked the acting director, asking about the whistleblower that came out the morning of our hearing.

and he didn't have satisfactory answers on that. And the deputy director of the FBI did not have satisfactory answers for me when I pointed out to him he had referenced only one social media account that had anti immigrant, anti Semitic views, and he did and that was when The shooter was like 14 years old. He didn't reference the more current Gab account. with leftist Pro Biden Pro-immigration, pro-lockdown rhetoric on it. And we are wanting to get clear, concise answers.

It appears from what we know that this is more of a systemic problem than just a one off. But The Secret Service has one mission. You protect the individual. There are 31. individuals they are responsible for protecting.

It is current President, Vice President and former Presidents and a few people in the administration that have had death threats. But They're not able to do their job. They've got 4,000 Secret Service agents. We need to look at how they are executing their mission. Yeah, absolutely.

And we've got to get to the bottom of it. I mean, Republican, Democrat, it doesn't matter. We've got to get to the bottom of this. That's exactly right. That's right.

All right. Well, Senator, again, congratulations. A huge, huge win, a primary win last night, and it's going to be a big win in November. And we just wish you nothing but the best out there on the campaign trail.

Well, thank you. Your listeners can keep up with our campaign at marshablackburn.com. I encourage them to stay in touch with us and give us their support. As we go through this election. All right, everybody, the great Senator Marcia Blackburn from the Volunteer State on our Patriot Mobile newsmaker line.

Going to bed hungry. And that's one of the reasons why this summer we are helping children and families that are served by our friends at Food for the Poor. This is a Christian nonprofit relief organization. Who have already donated to food for the poor. We launched our campaign on Monday, and here's what she had to say. They used to teach us how to take care of ourselves, how to take care of our families, and also to believe in God and the values, and that's what we are also teaching our children to do.

So please keep helping us. You are a blessing as a donor too. Thank you very much. All right. Thank you, Rosa.

So far, we've raised over $500. We are now feeding five children thanks to your great efforts. I want to do a whole lot more than that.

Todd, what I'd like Trump and Vance to focus on. Has the achievements Harris has done, and we know she hasn't done nothing. That's what they need to pound home. They need to keep pounding at. Her achievements.

Her achievements. There are none. But we know for sure. That she has destroyed this country. because she was over the border.

And now they've whitewashed all that to say that she wasn't And when she was. Pound that home. All right, that was Mark from the Villages in Florida. Ladies and gentlemen, what advice, what guidance would you give the Trump campaign? Right now, it seems as though most of the focus has been on whether or not Kamala Harris is Indian or black.

Mark says we need to be focusing on the what this woman has done during her time in Washington as a part of the Biden campaign or administration. It's a good point. Let's go to Judy in Georgia. Hi, Judy, what say you?

Well, I say I wish Trump would focus on a debate like yesterday. Get her in, get her face to face and then see what happens. Yeah, I like that. I'm not the ABC is still planning to do a debate. I will say this: Trump needs to be able to set the ground rules because in the last debate, he was not allowed.

It was all done by the Democrats. Trump, the campaign, needs to have some sort of a say in how it all goes down. I agree. All right. Well, Judy, thank you very much.

Judy says that they need to be focusing on debating Kamala Harris. And that's probably going to happen after the official nominating process. I still find it very hard to believe that they are going to. have Kamala Harris as the standard bearer of the Democratic Party. But then again, right now you've got all of these folks in the media, and they are hauling water for Kamala.

Big time. This story from MediaIte and then this goes back to Scott Rassmussen. Rasmussen tweeting Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris was leading former President Trump in his latest national poll. Rasmussen's polling company is RMG Research. That is different than Rasmussen Reports.

All right, two different companies there.

So Scott Rasmussen says, still need to see and we still need time to determine if this is some sort of a trend or if this is still part of the honeymoon period. Quote: We don't know yet if this is of a temporary bounce or the first indicator of lasting change in the race. A week ago it was a toss-up. Trump 44, Harris 43.

Now the numbers Harris forty-seven, Trump forty-two, and Robert Kennedy six percent.

Well, there you go. Since Biden withdrew from the presidential race and endorsed Harris, Harris has closed Trump's lead in several other polls, including in the swing states.

Now, look, we're going to be talking with Matt Towry coming up in the next hour, Matt, one of the top pollsters in the country, and we'll get his take on what we need to be gleaning, if anything, from these numbers. All right, let's go to Joe in Ella J, Georgia. Joe, what's on your mind today? John, great show. And by the way, you do a great job on news, Mike.

I watch you all the time and you do a super job. But I'm down in Sea Island, and everybody I'm talking down here from all over the country, they're all for Trump. And the market went down the last couple of days, but I bought some more stock today, and I predict under Trump we get Trump elected, we'll have the best stock market in history and the best economy in history for the next four years. And so I'm not worried about the Rasmussen poll. I think when the final results are in november sixth, Trump will win the landslide, and you will help him earn that landslide.

Joe, any concerns about the economy slipping into a recession? No, Todd. I think that once the people realize that Kamala is not a conservative, she's a Far left liberal. I think the American people will come strongly to Trump. And I think that we may have a small recession, but I believe when Trump takes over, and I think he both over six, Both the stock market and the economy will respond in a positive way.

And we will go the next four years, in my prediction, we'll have the best economy and stock market in the history, not just of America, but of the world. And Todd, you will help make that come true. Joe, all right, going to leave it there. Enjoy Sea Island. Wow, a lot of folks out there vacationing these days.

So not just Joe from LLJ, but if you're in Georgia, you're on the coast in the summertime. And I wish we were here because it's hotter than blue blazes in Memphis. By the way, we had a big election last night. Oh, my word. I'll talk more about this in the last hour of the program.

We have a great lineup on Newsmax tonight. Congressman Andy Biggs among our very special guests.

So be sure to watch the show later this evening. And tomorrow, I will be anchoring the network's coverage of President Trump's rally.

So that's going to be a lot of fun as well. We always have a lot of fun on Newsmax TV. I want to go right now to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. We've been talking a lot about polling over the past couple of weeks. Matt Towry is one of the best in the business, and he joins us on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line.

Hey, Matt, how are you today? I'm doing great. How are you, Todd? You know, I'm doing good. And, Matt, I've been telling our great listeners: don't panic.

This is a little honeymoon period for Kamala. But now, word came out from Scott Rasmussen. He's got Harris up by five in his poll out today, and people are getting a little nervous.

So, what say you? You are the expert.

Well, I don't know if that was Ras Musen reports or is it Scott Rasmussen? Those are two. It's Scott. Yeah, it's Scott. Yeah, not Ras Musin Reports, but Scott.

Yeah.

Well, I have a lot of respect for Scott. I I would say this. I mean, clearly in the last week and a half since we had this switch take place, Trump has lost support among independent voters in some of these wing states.

Now, it doesn't mean he can't get it back. But for the moment, we've seen that drop. What Causes me to think that it may stabilize, and in fact, that would not be bad news, is that. I've noticed the polling slip over to Harris up by one and some polls, even in some. We have a new poll out.

that I conducted with Robert Tehaley. We do a podcast called Polling Plus. And on the Polling Plus site today, we released our new poll that shows in Georgia. Where Trump is going tomorrow, I guess you're anchoring that coverage, right? Right.

And yeah, so my original home state where I used to serve in the legislature there. Um That is a two-point lead for Trump, and that's pretty solid at the moment.

Now, some of the polls showed that he slipped even. To me, that's the bellwether state of the Battleground States this year. And the reason I say that is not because I was born there. I live in Florida now. It's because of the makeup.

You have a large African-American population, you have a large rural vote, white vote, and then you have a large metropolitan, suburban, sort of independent, more moderate vote. And so you get all of the slices of American battlegrounds when you poll Georgia. If Trump is up by two after all of this that's taken place, I do think he will stabilize. And so it's going to be a very tight race. Remember one thing, Todd.

Most of the national polls in 2016 and 20. had Trump down as much as seven, eight points. And yet, he ended up almost winning even in 2020 with his reelection. He won in 2016.

So we had a long way to go. The polls don't always represent Trump or get the Trump vote. I think they're getting closer to it now. But I would say if things stabilize in the next week, that this will still be a race where he would be favored to win. What what would you say is causing the the fluctuation?

Well, I think it's, you know, I've been very critical of my the party I was once very involved with. uh not just collectively, because I felt like Republicans needed to educate the average voter, not people who listen to your show or to Sean's show or watch Fox or watch Newsmax, both great. networks. These are people who who get their news from NBC, ABC, CBS. They get it from Yahoo News.

They get it on social media. And they don't see what your listeners and viewers of your show see. They they don't know a lot about what took place at the border. They don't know a lot about what's taking place with crime in the cities. They are beginning to believe the economy is getting better.

What even the numbers today are disastrous. It looks like some experts think we're headed towards perhaps the recession that everyone feared.

So I think the Republicans are playing catch-up. Because now their ads have to educate what happened over three years. They could have been doing this earlier. And they have to explain to people that the gaslighting is taking place, where the media saying, oh no, she wasn't the border. Oh, no, she your crime is fine, don't worry about it.

Oh no, she's got this and that handle. These are absolutely difficult things to deal with because you have a low information voter out there who's going to be the swing voter, and they get their news from somewhere where they never thought otherwise. And so, this is sort of the big lie. Remember, they talked about the big lie in 2020 was the election.

Well, the big lie now. Is the way The Democrats are very artfully saying, oh, no, she doesn't oppose fracking. No, she's fine with the border restrictions. The things that she's been completely opposite on, they're now painting otherwise. And that is why these polls are dropping so quickly.

It's really shocking. And then you see the media trying to literally erase her record, the fact that she was the most liberal senator. I've never seen anything quite like that.

Well, you know, back in our day, um When I was younger, no one in the media would dare do something. If you were if you had a a a place that you said was supposed to be a nonpartisan monitor of voting of U. S. Senators and congressmen, you just let it Fall where they are. Instead, they just erased it from their, it's gone from their own website.

It's just insanity, but that is what the Republicans are up against. And I think they better step up their ads. I've asked people in Georgia and other swing states where I know folks. Does Trump have ads up? No.

Well, or if they're there, they aren't seeing them. I believe they're starting to run now. But isn't this a little late for the Republicans to be putting on their advertising to get to this low hanging I mean, this actually hard to get fruit, the low propensity voter And and a low educated voter. to be doing it ninety days before the election? I'm sort of shocked, and I think that's where the problem is coming from.

Do you think they had the audio somebody recorded JD Vance and a private fundraiser where he said that the campaign got sucker punched by Kamala. Do you really think that the the campaign was wa was surprised that that Harris was going to be the nominee?

Well, maybe it was more wishful thinking. It was 50-50 with all of us. We thought Biden was sort of making a comeback. And, of course, that disastrous debate, which I have questions about. Whether or not that whole thing was just pretty much let him out there and let everybody see.

Not up to it, so we can move on and have a replacement. I always thought the timing of that debate seemed very odd to me. You know, Todd, we've never seen a debate take place in June. Very strange. It just was just bizarre.

So I just feel like They should have been prepared. And I'm not being critical of the Trump campaign. You know, there are a lot of different groups out there, PACs and organizations that help a Republican get across the win line. And right now, I just think it's been sort of a, oh, they thought they had it. And suddenly they realize they're dropping like a rock.

Now, let me say one other thing: you're going to have a pylon. upholsterers who everybody has a different methodology. But I get criticized. Robert Cahaley gets criticized because we give Republicans a chance, we try to make it fair. A lot of organizations out there, they get lauded, they're great in this, that and the other.

538 thinks they're wonderful, but they always end up, and even in their own evaluation, having a lean towards, an error towards the Democrats. And so we get punished, even though I was rated the number one pollster for the 2020 cycle and Insider Advantage for multi-state pollsters of battlegrounds. And Robert, the bowtie upholstery, appears a lot in my podcast. Partner, he was number one in 2016 by Real Clear Politics. We don't get any credit because the liberal media doesn't want you to know that we do good polling.

So it's very difficult for everybody, including us pollsters, to get our message out there. And you're going to see an onslaught of polling that tends to lean to the left. That's going to show there's a move towards terrorists. I will say about Scott Ras Newson, he's a great friend of mine. He lives in the area down here in Tampa, St.

Pete, where I live. Scott's a good pollster.

So if he's showing that, I think for the moment he's probably on target. There has been a drift towards Harris. I don't know that it'll stay that way, though. Yeah, and that's the big question. And again, you've still got Harris.

She has to name her VP pick. And then you've got Chicago. And don't traditionally, the candidates get a little bit of a bump coming out of those conventions. Absolutely, Todd. They get a bump.

Let's put it this way. If I could have choreographed a better way to turn the Democrats around, I would have put Biden on a stage where I knew he was going to fall apart. I would have had him drop out, have her come in. She gets a bump then. Then she announces her VP.

Candidate, she gets a bump in. Then she comes out of the convention, she gets a bump in. And we're at the end of August, and early voting starts in September in some places.

So it's just. it's been well put together, and they will continue to get bumps. I think everyone needs to be prepared to see these numbers continue to get tight. You're going to see more and more numbers come out to show what Harris leading. It doesn't mean she's going to win the election, but it does mean That the Republicans, Trump organization, the PACs that support them have got to get their message out.

That is the thing I keep telling people. We can't do it just on talk, radio, and television because we just have so many people in America who watch us, and they tend to tend to be moderate to conservative. But there's a whole world out there, and it's a whole world, but it's a small world, of swing voters in all these states. And they vote on image, they vote on who they would be comfortable with, they vote on what's going to affect their pocketbook. And 100 days to get that message across, it needs to be done now.

And, Matt, as you and I are sitting here, and I'm thinking to myself, what is the messaging? What is the message that the Republicans it's a good point.

Well, I mean, if you think about it, Trump has given them some great things to run with. He's got this business of not taxing tips. I'm telling you, that could bring a serious group of voters who would never think about voting for Donald Trump. But they have not heard about it. Because it's not been turned into an ad, and they don't watch the rallies because the news organizations they watch won't carry it or give snippets of it.

Most people don't know what Trump wants to do about tips and not taxing them.

So that's one to start with. And there's so many other things they could do that are positive. He's talking about now not taxing Social Security. That's a brilliant move because one thing we noticed, Todd, in the recent polling, while some numbers have been going down for Trump, the older voter, and I'm going to be one this coming year, 65, 65 and over. Are moving back to the Republican Party and back to Trump.

And the Republicans lost that group after the pandemic. Because they felt like it wasn't handled well, and they were scared to death because, after all, older people are the most vulnerable. But they're coming back to Trump, and that's really what's keeping these numbers from the bottom dropping out. All right. Well, Matt, we're going to leave it there.

Great insight, and it's all fascinating. It's going to be a roller coaster ride, and I know we'll get you back on between now and Election Day. Thanks a lot, Matt.

Okay, great. Nice talking to you again. All right, Matt Towery, everybody, one of the best pollsters in America, and the guy is so accurate. And the media doesn't give Matt or Robert the credit, and we have both these guys on a lot. And the reason why is because they're very accurate.

And I hope that Trump World and the RNC is listening to the concerns that people like Matt and Robert and Scott Rasmussen are sharing. Again, these are, it's not canary in the coal mine just yet, but these are warning signs that the American people, the undecideds out there, They're not hearing the messaging. They're not hearing, and Matt just did a brilliant job of laying all of this out when you talk about how many people don't know about the not taxing the tips. You know, a lot of people don't know about that. All right, we've got to take a break here.

We're going to the phone lines, 901-260-5926, open line Friday. What advice do you want to give the Trump campaign, the Republican The Republican Party, what does their messaging need to be? To resonate with voters. 901-260-5926. This is the Tod Stern Show.

All right, if you're going to be out on Long Island tonight. And want to have dinner with President Trump, it'll set you back about $25,000. But hope they're serving steak.

You know, a lot of times you get the rubber chicken at these things. Anyway, Trump is speaking at a big-time fundraiser hosted by Cantor Fitzgerald. This is over in the Hamptons. That's the fancy part of Long Island. And if you want to host it, so if you want to, you know how you host, you get like a, I don't know, a swag bag or something.

That'll set you back a half a million dollars. If you want a photo, that's going to set you back uh fifty grand.

So There you go. All right, let's go to the phone lines here. 901-260-5926. Steve in Arkansas wants to disagree with me. All right, Steve, where did I go wrong?

I'm not saying that you're wrong, Todd. I believe she part of this polling stuff is to give her this bump. But I think the main thing behind it is to get the poles closer to where they want them to be to cover up For the Democrat Party magical election machine they're going to turn on this election. Are you concerned, Steve? I'm very concerned because I haven't seen really anything done in the last four years to prevent another twenty twenty happening.

I mean, if things are getting done, the media is doing a very good job of covering it up and not talking to it. They're fixing to break out their drop boxes here again in the next first of September in some states. And you know that's that is the only Realistic evidence we see of Democrat voters. They don't come to their rallies, they don't show up at their Uh Uh appearances or anything. but they're kind of like those cicada bugs.

When you set out a drop box, they come out of the ground. And uh I think that's the main thing behind what you're seeing, this poll bump right here. And that's that two hundred million dollars they magically collected overnight You're seeing money well spent, because the polls changed as soon as they got a big wad of cash in their hands. Uh There are a lot of people out there, and Steve, and I pay attention to this, and I do deep dives in this, and I sort of live in all of this. You've got people like Joe Rogan out there sounding the warning bells.

You've got people like Dave Portnoy, who, by the way, has really been very upset at J.D. Vance. And the reality is, J.D. Vance has said a lot of stuff over the years, and it may be sarcastic, it might be hyperbole, it doesn't matter. Because now he has to now he's in explaining explain explaining it all mode.

And when you're in explaining it all mode, you are losing the argument. And what this is doing is distracting the voters from the big issues. That's and the Republicans ought to know by now they're never, ever, ever going to get a fair shake in the media, Steve. Yeah.

I've got one more quick comment, Don. If I am wrong, And these are legitimate polls. and the American people's opinion And they're Political foundational principles are swayed that easily that they can change that easily. That many of them can change that easily in what? four or five weeks' time based on what they've said, which is nothing, or what they've done, which is nothing.

If you can swing this country's political foundation principles that easy, It don't really matter who gets elected, 'cause this country's done for anyway. And Steve, I will do a deep dive into that very issue coming up after the break, because you're right. And I do think we have a lot of stupid people living in this country, and we have a lot of people that have been brainwashed with all this propaganda that's been spoon-fed to them in our taxpayer-funded schools. And I'll explain all of that coming up in just a moment. Steve, appreciate the call.

And look, the other part of this, folks, is that when you do point out, hey, guys, this polling data is showing that Trump may be in trouble here. you get castigated by Trump World. Because Trump world can do no wrong. I'm just saying that's that's coming out of the campaign. All right, 901-260-5926, Open Line Friday.

This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, welcome back. This is the Todd Cearns Radio Show. It is Open Line Friday. Let's go to the phone line, say hello to.

George, W L O B in beautiful Portland, Maine. Hi, George. What's on your mind? Hey, Todd. Thank you for taking my call.

I am the Long time listener, first time caller, and I got two points to make. The first is that I love the cicada analogy of your last Your last caller. The second point is Right. Democrats have been uh Criticizing the Republicans to great effect, I think, recently because they turned down the Democrats uh propose a border bill, and the Democrats keep saying how wonderful it was and You know, when I looked at it in detail, it was just a stopgap measure with circuit breakers that only limited. Barely the amount of people that came in.

And the Republicans are not. Coming back with the hey, wait a minute. In May of twenty-three, we proposed HR two that was actually a real Uh uh Effective border bill. And I just don't understand why the GOP isn't reminding everyone of HR two. That's my comment.

And I'll take the responses off air. George, I just think there's a lot of chaos right now in the comms department and the messaging department and the things coming out of the RNC. And I again, when you look at the the Republican Party and its current iteration, everything was pretty much blown up when Ronna Romney McDaniel was booted out. She left. And so I think they're still getting their legs under them, and that's going to take a little bit of time, but we don't have a lot of time.

I am a clock watcher and a calendar watcher. And if you will remember, a long time ago, I told you Joe Biden would not be impeached because you got to look at the clock. And the Republicans were going to make the political calculation that if they waited it out, they would not have to impeach Joe Biden. That was their political calculation. Look, we have some problems within the party right now.

I don't believe the party is unified. And also, and again, this is. This is just the facts here. The fact is that evangelical Christians, some of these very powerful religious liberty groups, have basically been sidelined. And they've been told Keep your mouth shut, go and vote on Election Day.

So when you sideline those folks, which happen to be a significant chunk of the base of the party.

Well uh I get a little nervous. I get a little nervous. George, appreciate that call. Let's go to Jerry in Georgia, W-D-U-N, our great affiliate there. Hi, Jerry.

What's on your mind? Well, it's nice to talk to you, mister Starnes. I love your show. Thank you. Yes.

This is about the economy, and I think Donald Trump. Um And the Vice President Kennedy there, they should concentrate very much on the economy. This is what is hurting so many millions of Americans. But anyway, yesterday, I received a letter from my MasterCard and it informed me that the annual percentage rate was being increased due to they called it current economic conditions. They didn't blame it on the Democr the Democrats what it was, but they had some other word.

I looked down in the letter and they're tied the rate is going up to thirty four. What? Thirty? Yes. And then I got to thinking.

I know. How inflation has just skyrocketed, and people here in Georgia, in particular, my friends. The working class they are struggling to get by, and a lot of them are having to charge things on their credit card. And now they're going to get hit. Were these higher Charges for The carryovers, they don't pay off.

And I just think this is something the President could address in his economy. He should be talking about how people are hurting, and it's both Democrat and Republican people.

Well, there's a lot of truth there. And I will say, when you go to the grocery store and you stand on those lines and you can hear people griping and complaining, and one of the other things I've noticed, Jerry, is a lot of folks are now buying off-brand products. They're not buying those big brand products, they're buying the whatever the substitutes are, the generic versions. Right. Can I give you one more well, I'll let you go, but I want to give you one more inspirational thing.

I have a grandson that's seventeen years old. He wrote President Trump a letter inviting him to come play golf with him. I read the letter and it was so nicely written. And he said he was telling President Trump, I have things in common with you we would enjoy. But what he ended up saying that really got my attention, he said, President Trump, I'm seventeen years old.

Next year, I'll be eighteen, and I will vote for you. Is that right? And this and he's a young autistic son. He's He's highly functioning, but he really watches the politics and uh listens to the shows. And he knows right from wrong, and he knows that President Trump is the right man to be our leader.

Well, good for him.

Well, you got to let me know if he gets a message back from the President. He did. He was telling me, and I said, well, you need to write him again. He got a letter back from one of the staff, I'm sure, but he got a response. And but he wrote him the just a beautiful letter, and it was so inspirational to me.

And I am telling friends about this to get them committed to go vote like he's going to vote. And that's what our country needs. We need to get the vote out. Anywhere you talk to friend be you know don't be ashamed to speak up about what's happening and how we need to make a change In this Democrat oppressive economy.

Well, that's my comment. Thank you for hearing it. Jerry, thank you very much for calling in. Appreciate that. Let's go to Robert in North Carolina, WTKF.

Hi, Robert. What say you? Our industry. Uh I just wanted to say that I think the Republican Party is shooting themselves in the foot For the simple reason. There's millions of people out here that vote That do not have the money.

To send in to the party.

So unless you send money to that party, you don't get to have any say about what's being done. If anything that you are able to say, if you do get a chance, is what they print out, not what you want to, it's what you print out, they print out and you take a choice. They don't leave anything for you to sit here and say, This is what I want, this is what I believe.

Now on top of that, there's millions of people here That just, like I said, don't have the money. But now they have opinions also, and they also vote. But it seems the party don't want to know who they are or what they want or anything about them. And that's fair enough and that's fair enough, Robert. But I am telling you right now, if you step back and think about it, what is this election all about?

I mean, really, what is it that is driving people to the polls? Yeah, I said, well, we're trying to get rid of the Democrats. That's what I'm doing. Yeah, I'm not sure that's going to be a winning message for the Republicans. To be honest with you.

I want to save this country if they're trying to destroy it. Yeah.

But there's different where there's different ways of doing it is As you have said before, There The Republican Party up there now is doing things that they shouldn't be doing. They're making statements that they shouldn't be saying. that are hurting hurting themselves, uh they keep shooting themselves in the foot. And nobody will listen to what the public out here wants. They send out a questionnaire with a list of what they want to know, what they want to know, and that's it.

There may be people out here are not stupid. There's people out here have Yep. that could tell them millions of different things that would help them out, but they don't want to hear that. They only want to do what they want to do. Robert, appreciate that call and thank you for that.

901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. Let's go to David in Memphis, Tennessee, our flagship station, KWAM. Hi, David. What's on your mind?

Hey, Todd, you made a point just a few minutes ago. It was kind of a quick point, but you're talking about how they've kind of told the Christians to come vote. And shut up and leave us alone after that. Don't bring up this cultural stuff, don't really get involved with it. And I'm just I've been voting since 1988, Republican.

I will be voting for Trump, there's no question. But I'm not too thrilled about Down Valley and some of the people who are telling me: you know, leave your morals aside. We don't need to be. pushing social issues. They're a little bit, you know, they're out of decorum.

Their decorum is not good for some of the things you're saying. I don't care. I'm not out here to be liked. I'm out here to win elections. And Do what is right.

And I don't I don't think the party really wants us right now. I I'm really not too um thrilled with several of them. I don't have nowhere else to go. But the problem is, I see the Republican Party. Here's how I see it.

You have a party of liars, which is the Democrats. They lie about every single thing, it's how they gaslight and lie. On the other side though, I see a party of cowards. I see a party of cowards, and that's what concerns me the most, is they don't stand for anything. They they want to compromi they want to constantly compromise on everything.

And that just That's just uh not what I'm about.

So I don't know But that's I'm not a compromiser. I'm willing to vote. on truth and on the social values. And You keep pushing us aside, eventually we'll say, hey, Frank. No, I have the right to vote.

I also have the right not to vote.

So that's where I'm at right now. No, I hear you. I hear you, David. No, no, no. I hear you, David.

And that was my greatest concern when all the argument over the party platform was a completely unnecessary argument. And I did not understand initially why they were going down that path until I realized there were other forces at work within the RNC. And there is an effort. It's not an effort anymore. They did it.

They completely neutralized the culture wars completely and shoved all of that aside.

So now you basically have a. I wouldn't, I mean, the party is secularized. All right, I get that. But the reality is, a lot of people like you who had nowhere else to go voted for the Republicans because they stood up for those issues, those culture war issues that you were just talking about. And now that those are off the table, you're in a situation where, you know what?

You you're not enthusiastic about your vote anymore. Yeah, but I think too is I think the party you talked about the party not being unified. The the thing the difference there is though, the Democrat vote when they're not unified They're still going to vote, Democrat, because they had their huge block. They're on two separate ends of the economic spectrum, but they come together when it's time to vote. you know, your Yale and your Harvard Yang and your folks down here, um, You know And and South Memphis, they're going to all vote the same way come election day.

The f the difference is I think our party looks down another country club crowd. looks down the noses at the plumbers, electricians, the HVAC guys. who are voting Republican because, you know. They go fishing instead of playing golf. A thousand percent.

They think I'm just gonna I'll cut right to the chase. They think those of us who came from working class families are a bunch of white trash. We're not the country club types. They think we're the white trailer park trash. That's what they think.

Yeah, well, I enjoy. Have a good weekend, Tom. All right, David. Appreciate the call. I may as well just cut to the chase on that.

You know what I mean? All right, let's go to. Teresa in Memphis, Tennessee, listening to us on KWAM. Hi, Teresa. What's on your mind?

Yes, I am definitely going to vote for Trump, but I do believe that Trump needs to rein in the way he talks. He needs to stop Cutting people down, and he needs to talk about the issues only. That would be a major thing that needs to happen. If he doesn't start pushing what's going on with our economy, what's going on with the fracking situation, the oil, what's going on with The border, and he talks about all these people instead of issues. We're going to lose.

And I agree with the man who just called. We have got. To have the Republican Party together, they've got to come together and support the man that we're looking to elect as the next president. Teresa, if I didn't know better, I would think there are forces at work within the Republican Party that are trying to make sure that Donald Trump loses. It's time that we quit that.

We're losing our nation, and we've got to save it from what they're trying to do to it. No, I'm with you 1,000% there. Even Peter Navarro, he was filling in for Steve Bannon, while Steve Bannon is a political prisoner. Navarro said, All of you white guys got to stop it. You got to stop with attacking Kamala for the race and for the cackle and all that stuff.

And you've got to start focusing on the issues because that is not playing well. And trust me on this, Teresa, they're making the campaign all about race. And sex. That's it. Right.

And the thing is, we try to train our children when we were training our kids. Do not. cut people down. Do not talk against people. They may be wrong.

But that that doesn't help you at all. And it's time that we realize the issues are more important than than people, you know, hurting people, in other words. I'm trying to cut 'em down that.

Well said, Teresa. And we need those people around President Trump to make sure that message is being reinforced. And I don't think it is right now. And we've got to make this all about the campaign apparatus. And they had the same problem back in 2020.

So we've got to get this fixed. Teresa, thank you for that. And it's a good word. And, folks, I'm hearing a lot of people like Teresa. Did you hear what she said?

I'm voting for Trump, but. That's the issue right now. And I'm I suspect that when we look at the Rasmussen, the next round of Rasmussen polls and those numbers stay the same, it's because you've got a lot of folks that are saying, I'm voting for Trump, but, or you just heard from David who said, Yeah, I'm voting for Trump, but those down ballot folks, that's what I'm a little squirrely on. These are, look, people are having these conversations. All right, we got to take a break here: 901-260-5926.

901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern show. All right, folks, let's go right back to the phones. It is Open Line Friday, and we're blowing up the phones in the last hour of the show, so you'll be able to call in if we don't get you in this hour, 901-260-5926. Let's go to Connor in Boston, listening to us on KWAM.

Hi, Connor. What's on your mind? Hey, Todd, I'm going to tell you, you know, in order for Trump I mean, Trump, in my opinion, he's going to win one side victory, but what he needs to focus on. she needs to focus on the three biggest like the two biggest issues, which is the economy. They need to focus on immigration and getting rid of the illegal aliens.

The chief focus on other things, there's really no way they can defend their record. My wife can not defend your record. It's like if you look at math to check it here, And so even some Democrats are getting sick of the whole situation with the legal ailment and getting taxed on their hard-earned balance. It needs to focus on those two core issues, and it's again going to be even bigger of a landslide victory than it's going to be as it stands right now. If you look here, our governor.

who's not who actually went out and endorsed Tamala. They're giving things using our tax dollars for hotels, attorneys, cell phones, iPods. That's all coming at the courtesy of the federal government and the taxpayer. Burn. You know, it's like I work hard for my money, most people do.

And I don't want to support those things. We need to focus on growing our economy. getting back to everywhere when he's been off his last. in being better than we ever were before. And these gamers and issues in that regard is going to happen.

Connor, I like that idea a lot. I'd like to see President Trump going into like Chicago's South Side, coming to Memphis, Tennessee, taking those rallies directly to the people that we are trying to reach, the people that have just been so devastated by these policies of the Democrats. I'd love to see that happen. Connor, a great thought. Got to leave it there.

Good hearing from you, my friend. But again, this is staying on laser-focused on the messaging. And the question is, are people going to vote for President Trump, because of his policies on the border, or because of what he's saying about Kamala's laugh, or whether or not she's Indian or black, or any of this other kind of nonsense? 901-260-5926 is our number. Hour three of the big show coming up next.

Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun toton, Bible-clanging, deplorable American. That's right. I love this American ride.

Todd Starns. All right. Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Starns Radio Show. Happy to have you with us.

Man, this story out of... Out of the Olympics, this boxer from Albania. Is it Albania? It's Algeria.

Now, the boxer has XY has XY chromosome, so. The question is how How in the world can this dude be a gal? And it has caused all sorts it's really international outrage. But I am telling you, when you look at this boxer, it is very clear to me: this is a dude. Dude.

This is a man. And the people are very upset about this. The alphabet activists are in a tizzy. But the reality is that in the Olympics right now, it's perfectly okay for a guy to smack around and punch a girl. And the boxing rate.

It's really strange. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. Welcome to hour three of the big show, by the way. That's 901-260-5926. It is Open Line Friday, so whatever you want to talk about today, we will talk about it.

I want to go right, right away, straight away to the phones because we have a trio of ladies. Let's start our conversation with Cheryl in Georgia. Hi, Cheryl. How are you today? What's on your mind?

I'm doing great, Todd. How are you? I'm good. They're doing well.

Well, listen, I With the last collar he had. Yeah.

stop with the comparison with the race. Who cares? What we care about is the issues and what they need to do I saw a poll that the tick in Harris's increase has been young, oftentimes millennial women who just think she's cute and it would be cool to have somebody like her a little bit younger in the White House. They don't have a clue what the policies are or what she said or done in the past. They have to figure out a way to get that message to those uninformed.

Young people, but even a friend of mine, I'm 67, close friend of mine, I knew she never liked Trump. She didn't like his tweets, et cetera, et cetera. She's still holding on to that until are set at You know, I didn't care for the tweets either, but you know, he did X, X, X, X, X, X, X, Y, Z. As soon as he got into office, She had no clue. No clue.

She just was irritated by him personally. They've got to figure out a way to inform these people who won't do their homework. In fact, they need to show videos, live videos from years ago or recent years. Or audio of what she has said. They've got to be able to hear it from her mouth.

Cheryl. Trump, yes, Cheryl. I am with you 1,000% on this. The reality is, and I know this, I'm going to explain this in just a few seconds here, but the reality is that there are a lot of people in this country who. Who are only gonna vote based on political party and skin color, and in some cases, chromosomes.

And that may be the cases go around, but we've got I know people discount that. But I'm telling you, it's true. And a lot of times, ability doesn't really matter, but likeability does. And there are a lot of folks right now, and it just, I've noticed the uptick, which is why I'm talking about this, Cheryl. I've heard a lot of people say, oh, yeah, I'm going to go vote for Trump.

But You know, that's a problem. We don't need that butt there. Right, right. I understand that. Um Yeah, well they're you know, they're the they're the smart people, so they've got to figure it out.

How we reach those people. Right now, the messaging is all over the place, and it can't be on what J.D. Vance was talking about, you know, with cat ladies or whatever. Those things were chasing squirrels at that point, and we've got to stop that, and we've got to stay focused like a laser on the big issues: the economy, and the border, and crime. Those are three big issues that are impacting every family in America.

Absolutely, and the Democrats knew that that Trump would bite on the race base. And you know, it's fine to bring that up, but not to be the sole topic of Trump's rallies or interviews or whatever he's talking about. If I were the Trump campaign, I would be telling them you got to cut those speeches in half. You know, get your message and get off the stage. You know, get it out there.

And get off the stage. Going back to the RNC. Nobody remembers nobody remembers that speech. The only thing they remember is it was incredibly long.

So let's fine tune the messaging and let's take the campaign to places that You know, Republicans normally would not go to. And I think back to what happened in the South Bronx and what happened on the Jersey Shore, all those people coming out. I think Donald Trump was able to convert Democrat voters into the Republican way of life. And I would love to see him do that in places like Detroit again or Chicago Southside or right here in Memphis, Tennessee. Cheryl, got to run, and it is a great, great point you make, but we've got to reach those uninformed female voters.

And there are a lot of them. I got to tell you what happened in Memphis last night. We had an election. I don't know what it is in this city, but they have like elections a couple of times a year, it seems like. It's crazy.

So anyway, we've got a radical activist, and this woman is really a horrible human being. And I hate to say that, but it's true. I mean, it really is true. Her name is Tammy Sawyer. She was a former Shelby County Commissioner, and she is she is a black activist and she hates white people.

I mean, flat out hates them. I want to read a tweet to you. She said this: Little kids in scary movies freak me out. I'm glad I can't have white babies, 'cause I might kill one thinking they're damned.

So this is a horrible human being. And she's also anti-cop. She hates the cops. And she hates statues.

So she was leading the charge to tear down all the Confederate memorials, and she's always a victim.

So if you criticize her or if you point out what she has said, then all of a sudden you become a racist, and she claims to be the victim.

So the latest is that she claims people were sending her personal pan pizzas. And that was some sort of a racist act. Mm-hmm. You can't make this stuff up.

So, anyway, she was running to be what they call here in Memphis the general, the clerk of the general sessions court. This is the largest court. In the state of Tennessee. And they work directly with a lot of these very bad people out there, the criminals.

Okay.

So anyway, there was a lady named Lisa Arnold. And Lisa is just a good salt of the earth. She is a working-class lady. Right, salt of the earth. Good old southern lady.

And she's white. And she's a Republican. And she ran for this office. She wanted to be the clerk of the General Sessions Court. She had had 30-plus years working in the office itself, so she knew how it works.

Tammy Sawyer. She's an activist. That's her professional job title. She's an activist. That's it.

She knows nothing about running a court office, nothing at all.

So anyway, the election the race starts and immediately Tammy Sawyer and all the Democrats in Memphis are coming after poor Lisa Arnold and saying, How dare you try to steal a seat away from a black person, you racist. Just right out of the gate they play the race guard here.

Now, you would think that people would be smart enough to see all through this. You would think. But a couple of years ago we had a um We had another race. This was the lady in charge of where you get your car tags. This woman is horrible at her job.

People are not getting their car tags. She's not even paying the rent. They were evicted from a couple of places. This is a county office for crying out loud. And this woman, she was just the worst possible court clerk.

And then She runs for reelection. The guy running against her, again, happened to be in that office for thirty something years, was very well qualified, but the problem was he was a white guy and he was a Republican. And you're not going to believe this, folks, but sure enough, come election day a couple of years ago. This woman, Wanda Halbert is her name, she got reelected. I mean, she was making people wait seven, eight hours outside in the heat, and they still weren't getting their contacts.

Complete incompetence. But it doesn't matter. Because she's black. And the opponent was white. She's a Democrat.

The opponent was Republican, and Memphis is a majority black Democrat city.

So last night Um It came close. But ultimately Tammy Sawyer, the woman who hates the police. Laughs when puppies are killed. and wants to kill white babies. was elected.

With zero experience.

So all that to say, ladies and gentlemen, And maybe our Memphis listeners can offer some thoughts on this. The reality is, there really are a lot of ignorant people out there who will vote strictly based on race and whether or not there is a D behind that name. And there's not a single thing you can do at this point to change their minds. But there are others out there. And there are independents, and those are the people that we can sway.

And I think it's so vitally important that we get Donald Trump into those areas so they can hear the message. That's what we've got to focus on: the messaging. Anyway, my condolences to the people of Memphis. It's about to go from bad to even worse in Memphis right now. And it's only because they're electing these horrible people.

The woman's a cop hating racist. But She won the race. All right. Let's go to Maria in Georgia. Hi, Marie.

What's on your name? What's on your mind? Hey, Todd, how are you? It's Friday, Marie. Yeah.

Well, the first thing I was going to say when I called in was, I really appreciate all the people calling in. It's just, it gives me hope when everybody calls in and says what they think of it really. It's, I mean, did you get it? stories listen to a lot of stuff and you think, Oh, this is great. But um There was a group that was going around to some of the churches and they were talking to people about getting registered to vote.

And there was something that came out that said that only 25% of Christians vote. And I don't know if that's true or not. But I hope not and I hope people will register and get out and vote. And The other thing is I was wondering when President Trump or former President Trump, when he travels and goes to things like the um a thing the other day that everybody's discussing about the I guess they were. Yeah these people.

Um you know, who travels with him and gets him ready for that so that they can kind of like stay on point and focus and do they give him, you know the records of What you know, Kamala Harris, what she voted for, not and I know what we just said you just said a minute ago about people sometimes just don't care. They're just trying to bait him and trying to vote. Democrat or whatever. And I've even had a friend who's a Democrat that called And she said, Oh, well, you know, you're Republicans, they go after cat ladies because I adopted a cat. You know, I mean, it's just like the name column, and they go after everything that they can.

So I just wondered like who keeps him You know, calm and on point when those people were late and were terrible questions and lied to him, you know. When he's out there. Marie, these are great questions. And the President, look, The president was right to be angry. At what happened.

And I have no problems with how he conducted himself in front of that group. It was a despicable group of people. My concern, though, is when we're out there doing the rallies, rallies in and of themselves will not win. Win elections, right? You're mobilizing the people, you're getting them excited, but that's it.

So we've got to make sure when we're doing these rallies that the messaging is very clear and on point.

So that is up to the campaign to explain to the President, Mr. President, we know you love to do X, Y and Z, but it's not working, sir, and we've got to try something else. And my concern is, and hear me on this, Marie, that the President in his circle, he may have people that are just yes people. And they don't want to maybe share what they're really feeling because they're afraid of losing their seat at the table. You know what?

I'm not one of those people, and because I want this president to win. And we had the advantage of looking at and saying, oh, wait a second.

Something, this isn't, you know, this messaging isn't connecting to people. We need to figure out a way to rephrase X, Y, or Z. Mm-hmm. All right. Marie, thank you for calling in.

And speaking of cat ladies, folks, I had to listen to this, so you have to. Childless cat babies creeping around. I'm not the cat. That's on your mind. Cats running round with their tails in the air, They're flashing their feline beelines Childless cat ladies young and old Cats are our pleasure and joys.

They warm up our laps when the weather is cold and we spin on top. Yeah.

And Cats can't bump, but we short can. They need us to do it and have. Oh well take control. To the palm rain. Yeah.

Oh, dear lord. All right. Um May I just say please don't do that? There are some of us who have cat allergies, and I don't want you bringing your cat to the polling place and getting all the hair and the fur balls all over the place. And then I start sneezing.

So leave your cat at home. Jeez a Lou. All right, hang tight. We've got to take a quick break. When we come back, more of your calls.

901-260-5926 says Open Line Friday. That's 901-260-5926. This is the Tod Stern Show. All right, welcome back, everybody. Good to have you with us.

Let's go to Richard listening to us on WLOB. Hi, Richard. What's on your mind? Hey, how you doing? I got a lot on my mind right now.

Last week, within twenty four hours, I went from the anti-Netanyahoo protest in front of Union Station in DC. straight to the uh assassination attempted assassination site of former President Trump, and it was a very stirring twenty-four hours. Yeah.

What I wanted to talk about, though, is what it drove home for me is. There are a lot of people out there who don't like America. who don't like what the freedom that we have. And it's Once you actually stand at the assassination the location where the affected assassination took place, it's pretty obvious how I could have They used at age fifteen and secured a better perimeter than what they had around that site. specifically the water tower that overlooks The barn where it cooks chat from.

The question isn't who was on that water tower. The question is Why wasn't there any secret service on that water tower to oversee the entire venue? Yeah, Richard, I think that's certainly a fair question. Why wasn't the Secret Service left that rooftop unsecured? Uh That's another big issue as well.

Richard, I hate to do this, but we are coming up on a hard break, and I'm going to have to let you go. But you're right. There's a lot of chaos. in this country right now. And from the flag burnings and the fact that they didn't have enough police out there to stop all of that.

To whatever we just saw happen in Butler County PA. We still don't have. All the information there. All right, hang tight, everybody. We've got Carlotta, Carrington.

Pastor John, don't go anywhere, folks. This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, folks, welcome back. By the way, don't forget tonight, 5 o'clock Eastern, I'll be hosting Newsmax, and then tomorrow I'll be anchoring the Trump rally, and that's going to be a lot of fun tomorrow in Atlanta. By the way, speaking of President Trump, he's a big fan of Newsmax.

So is Mike Hockabee.

So are many of you. As a matter of fact, Newsmax, they're telling me, is now the fastest-growing cable news channel in all of America. And you can watch it so many different ways, whether it's streaming or on cable or the free Newsmax app. And of course, Newsmax recently announced plans to go IPO. That's going to happen very soon.

NewsmaxInvest.com. If you want to find out how you can buy preferred shares in Newsmax, that's NewsmaxInvest. Of course, be sure before you buy anything, be sure to check with your attorney, your financial advisor. But again, you're going to want to check out all the information available right now at NewsmaxInvest.com. All right, let's go to the phone lines here.

Carlotta, Rhode Island. Hi, Carlotta. What's on your mind today?

Well Actually, there is one name. that Chuff can call uh Kamala. And everybody should call her that name, all the radio hosts as well. She when you say progressive, you're flattering her. She's a radical.

Oh, she's a radical, yeah. Radical? radical come and when they say progressive, it sounds like, oh, it's so forward moving. She's taking the country to a wonderful place.

So it's a radical, not a progressive. And people have to understand what radical policies are and how ideological she is.

So that's a name, but it suits her and it's explanatory. Yes, Carlotta, I think you're absolutely right about that. And I'm curious, you're there in Rhode Island. We don't hear a lot of news coming out of Rhode Island. What are folks in your state?

Are they leaning Trump? Are they leaning Harris? Uh well they open They usually go Democratic, but the ones that are for Trump just keep their mouth shut because it's a very small state and everybody knows everybody.

So it's like an underground society. Yeah, that's the way it is here in Memphis as well. And especially among the black community where there are a lot of Trump supporters, but many are just afraid to announce that publicly. They're afraid of the blowback.

Some of these Democrats are pretty evil around here, Carlotta, and they play hardball. People are pretty nice. We we're not afraid of for our lives or our property or anything. It's just that it's such a small Well And it could be your cousin or someone who just married your sister's best friend.

So it's just best to keep your Opinions theory.

Well, that's fair enough in Rhode Island. Y'all are very nice, hospitable people. But I'm telling you, some of the Democrats down here in Memphis will catch you. I'm just telling you. All right.

Carlotta, thank you for the call. Good hearing from you, by the way. Let's go to Carrington in North Carolina. Hi, Carrington. What's on your mind?

Hey, Todd, not a whole lot. I don't think you have enough time for all the stuff that's on my mind. But. Just wanted to let you know that you're doing a good job, man, and you keep up doing what you're doing. Me and my mom listen to you just about every day.

Um That to all the front people, I'm a first-year voter, like I'm 33. And I've never been more det determined on set on something before in my life. Yeah.

Is that right? So, first so, what is it that compelled you to finally get out and vote Carrington? Just how bad everything is, man. Like, you would have to be blind. in order to not see the changes just in the past four years.

Over the past three years, three and a half years, Internet is it just I just Getting older. you you start realizing more, you know. start thinking more. uh stuff is more important than what it uh was ten years ago. Fair enough, Carrington.

Well, look, God bless you, and I'm so proud of you for getting out there and engaging the political process. I'm telling you, there's something about going into the ballot box and casting your ballot, voting for somebody. Once you do it, you're going to be hooked and you're going to do it every single election cycle. And that's honestly what we need, ladies and gentlemen. We need people like Carrington.

I suspect there are a lot of people that are like Carrington. They haven't got around to voting, but they're getting older.

Well, you know what? You've got a lot of skin in the game. And it's time to get out there and cast your ballots. Nine oh one two six zero five nine two six is our number. That's nine oh one two six zero five nine two six.

Have you heard this story out of Las Vegas? This is just mind blowing.

So last November, and we we talked a lot about this on the show, there's a seventeen year old young man. His name was Jonathan Lewis, and he was coming to the rescue of a friend who was under attack from this mob. And Jonathan stepped in and the mob turned on Jonathan and they literally beat this young man to death. This happened right near a high school in Las Vegas last November. There was a mob of around 20 other people who just stood there and watched and took out their cell phones and they broadcast the attack live on social media.

Many of you saw the video. It was just as horrifying as could be. And they literally, these young people literally beat this 17-year-old boy to death. He died six days later at the hospital.

Now Jonathan, a white kid, his attackers, three blacks and one Hispanic. Police were so disgusted they actually called the attack quote. Void of humanity. People are were just enraged and horrified at the savagery.

So, anyway, the Los Angeles District Attorney announced just yesterday, and this is why this is making news: the Los Angeles District Attorney. Announcing that those four cold-blooded killers have been offered a plea deal.

So they were all juveniles when they killed Jonathan.

So the plea deal, they will not be prosecuted as adults. Meaning they will not have to serve any time in an adult prison, but it's worse than that. Once these killers turn twenty-one years old, their records will be expunged. It's basically a get out of jail, get on with a life card. To make it even further worse.

Is that a phrase? No, it's not. To make it even more worse. To make it really bad. Jonathan's mother was never told.

She was never told. She said the DA's office failed to pick up the phone and give her a call, shoot her an email saying, Hey, we just want to give you a heads up, but we're making a deal with your son's killers. And they're going to be walking the streets very soon.

So, anyway, she said, and she did an interview with a local TV station in Vegas, and she said, You know what? There's no justice. There's no justice for my son here. None whatsoever. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what Kamala Harris's Woke America looks like.

All lives do not matter. In Kamala Harris's America. I hate to say it, but it's true. And you feel bad for the parents of this seventeen year old kid. All right, let's go to the phone lines here.

Jay and Tennessee, WTJS, our great affiliate near Jackson. Hi, Jay. What's on your mind? Hey, Todd, what's for it, old man? Happy Friday.

Happy Friday. Yeah, I mean, I've been listening to everybody call in and enjoy your show. Especially on Fridays. Thank you. The call in force.

I just want to tell everybody to. Remind them of the words of the late, great Russell Inbaugh: Let not your heart be troubled. We got three months to go before election time. There's plenty of time to turn this thing around. The the only Well Two big concerns I have Todd and you touched on it earlier is one I agree with you.

I think that President Trump needs to surround himself with people that that would have at least had him better prepared for what he was walking into at that journalist convention the other day. better prepared to handle that and But I think that um one of the biggest problems we got is And it's not too late to address it and fix it. is President Trump's got two things going against him. His age and his attitude. And I don't know many eighty year old people that change their attitudes.

No, he's not going to change. Look, Jay, he's not going to change. No, that's it. What you see is what you get. The guy got shot in the head, and he is still the same guy.

He's not going to change. He's doubling down. He's doubling up. And but there's some opportunities out there. And in three months it's forever.

in in a presidential campaign. We all know that. And There are some some issues that can be focused on, and one of them that's uh near and dear to my heart is the national debt. Nobody's talking about that. You'll you'll latch on to that.

Talk about what we're going to do to pay that credit card down instead of handing it off to our kids and grandkids. for them to pay off. Let me tell you what's going to happen. Let me tell you what's going to happen here, Jay. And you know again, I don't mean anybody, any ill will or harm, but you know that there's going to be some sort of an incident where cops shoot a black kid.

And all you know what breaks loose. They bring back up the whole Trump interview at the black journalism thing, and it all becomes about race. And so there's a lot that can happen in those three months, and that's why we've got to make sure that the conversation is not about race, but the conversation is about what you just said: the debt, the amount of debt that we have as a nation or the economy. or the border.

So there are lots of things that we should be focusing on here. Yeah, and I I and I and I hate making anything about race and I know you know, you do do as well, but, you know, Yeah, I I I live here in West Tennessee just like you do. You live in Memphis. And you watch the Memphis News, I watch the Memphis News. And you can't turn on the Memphis News on Monday morning without hearing about another kid or multiple kids They got killed over the weekend or overnight during the week and You know, where's the outrage over that?

You know, uh this you know. Yeah.

Wh where's where the where are the pumpkins? You know, when that happens. You know, so I'll you know You know, I'm I'm as I'm as angry about that as I am. anything, but you know, the eye I hate to see it all Yeah, I'm with you, Jay. Yeah, no, I'm with you on that.

And they play the race card, and I love calling people out because I will. I'm not afraid of doing that. A lot of white folks are afraid of but I'm not afraid of that. And to your point, early this morning, You had a guy get shot. And he's speeding away.

from the crime scene and slams into a Memphis police cruiser, a Memphis police officer killed this morning, another critically injured fighting for his life right now at the hospital. And then the driver died as well of the guy with the gunshot wound.

So it's. It's violent in this city, and people don't want to talk about that. They don't. Jay, appreciate that call. 901-260-5926.

Open Line Friday. That's 901-260-5926. Let's go to Pastor John in Kentucky. Hi, Pastor. What's on your mind today?

Hey, Todd, this is going to be totally off subject, okay?

Well, it's Open Line Friday, so you can talk about whatever you want to talk about. But I want to talk about your book, Our Daily Biscuit. This morning my son and I were praying and I was brought to tears. I read the story about your mom, Jimmy Carter, cousin Jimmy Carter and Mother's Potato Salad. And reminded me so mu it reminded me so much of my mom.

When we had a guest come over, she made so much chicken. She sent my friend home with like twenty pieces of chicken and a bucket potato salad, so he'll be set for a week. And the whole point about your message was about the idea that When you talked about your mom at the funeral, One of the things people are talking about are Ambrosia and all that stuff. But then you talked about her potato salad and the one moment in her life Besides God made the world in six days, your dad said. But the point is Is that Talk about that one moment, the one moment that you'll always remember was when she was complimented by Rosalind Carter about how delicious that potato salad was, and the secret ingredient was a touch of mustard.

And my mom was like that, okay? And she's in glory now with the Lord. But That made me that reminded me, they're the little things, like you said, God gives us our talent. And how we entertain people with hospitality, because you also remember that those people we entertain may be angels. But I wanted to share that with you because that story is like one of my most favorite stories in our daily biscuit.

And me being a pastor, I use that story once in a while about how we honor God by the things we are given, by the talents we are given, like how you're given the talent of being a talk show host. and how you reach out to people with that love and Christian truth But I needed to thank you for this book because like I said, I get choked up every time I read it. because it reminds me so much of my mom. Our moms were amazing women, you know. But if we got out of line, they'd use that cast-iron skillet to put us back in line, you know?

It's true. But. I I I just really needed to say thank you so much because like I said, I'm still choked up about that story today. And I don't know what it was, probably because I was missing my mom and stuff. But I wanted to thank you and your coauthors, but that story About Rosalind Carter and mom's potato salad, and that's how I say it, pater salad.

I just wanted to thank you for that. In the midst of all this craziness, Todd, everybody hating on each other, the bigotry experienced by people and everywhere. But in the moment of time, that one moment, we have that peace with this little book in Bible scriptures. And it just shows us what the real truth is about loving God. And loving our families.

And I wanted to thank you for that. And God bless you, Todd. I truly love you, brother.

Well, Pastor, thank you so much for those kind words. And that was a lot of fun to write that book, Pastor. And that story about mom and dad. They went to church when the Carters in the summertime would come up to the mountains of North Georgia where my parents lived. And they would attend the church.

And mom served Mrs. Carter some of her award-winning potato salad. And it was a mighty good potato salad recipe. But thank you for that. And, folks, I would encourage you to get a copy of our daily biscuit devotions with a drawl.

You're going to love it. Love it, ladies and gentlemen. And it does help really prioritize the important things. In life. All right, got to take a break here.

901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, real quick here, let's try to see if we can't squeeze in another call. Janie in Memphis, Tennessee. Hi, Janie, what's on your mind?

My turn, I would say. I'm well. Thanks for asking. I am Kamala, calling herself president. Oh, she did do that, yes.

She called herself president yesterday. Does that mean the fixture's in already?

Well, Biden insinuated last night that he would not be President in ninety days.

So it it could be, or maybe they're just both talking about the wazoo.

Well I think that's a good idea. I don't know. I don't know. I don't trust the government. Um And we really have no other option, do we?

Well, we don't. We just have to get out there and we've got to vote. And I'll tell you who I miss, Jane, and that is Steve Bannon. He is now a political prisoner. I don't think it was by chance.

And we're going to get into that next week. And I want to talk about why I believe Steve Bannon is in jail right now. This is it's it's not a coincidence. And I think there's something more nefarious going on there. But Steve Bannon is the kind of a guy that can keep President Trump on message, and we need that because we've got too much writing on this election.

Well yeah absolutely. Do if we don't get out of this, we're in trouble. We are. I went to vote yesterday, Todd. And do you know how many people were in there with me?

How many, Janie? None. And that's the problem. Janie, we got to skedaddle, but we got to get out the vote, ladies and gentlemen. Janie's absolutely right.

Wow, tonight, 5 o'clock Eastern, ladies and gentlemen, watch the show on Newsmax. In the meantime, you get out there, have a great Friday, and be sure to go to church this weekend, America.
