Welcome to another round of Boardroom or MiroBoard. Today we talk retrospectives with Agile coach Maria. Let's go. First question. You've spent two hours in a team retro, but the only input you've heard is Dave's.
Boardroom or MiroBoard? Boardroom. In Miro, Dave can't hog the space because everyone can add thoughts anonymously. Online, at the same time. Correct.
Next. You need the team to act on feedback fast.
So you turn all those retro notes into JIRA tasks instantly. instantly. Miro all the way. And I can assign those tasks to teammates. You're nailing this.
Now, you see hundreds of sticky notes from the retro. A real mess. But you organize them into five themes in just seconds. Miro, I basically get back an entire hour when I use its AI tools for clustering. And she's done it.
Join over 60 million people running actually enjoyable and actionable retros in Miro. Get your first three boards free at Miro.com. That's M-I-R Live from the Liberty University studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's conservative blowtorch. That's us, that's right. I love this American ride.
Todd Starns. Oh, yeah.
Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Starns radio program. Happy to have you with us today. Wow, we have so much to talk about. We need another six hours, but we're going to try to condense everything into the three hours that we have here together.
But I want to start out by talking about the debate last night. And what you saw last night, ladies and gentlemen, was a political assassination on national television. It was Barack Obama on the sixth floor of the book depository and Hillary Clinton on the grassy knoll. And they took out Joe Biden last night. That's what really happened here.
And I'm going to lay out the evidence that this was all a staged political hit job. And the point was to get Joe Biden out of the 2024 presidential race.
So we're going to be taking your calls as well. Your reaction to the debate last night. Also, who do you think the Democrats are really going to run? Because that's the issue now. The Democrats, and we understand from our sources on Capitol Hill, that President Obama is going to be meeting with Joe Biden later today.
if that meeting has not already happened. And the whole point of this is to get Joe to finally drop out of the race.
Now, here's the challenge. The White House now telling CNN just moments ago that Biden is not only not going to step aside, but Joe Biden also is looking forward to a second debate. Is this guy nuts? This was insane last night. I don't know about you.
I'm curious as to when you had your OMG moment last night. For me, it was when he walked out. And you could just tell by the way Biden walked out that really lurchy sort of robot move. For me, that was the moment. And I'm like, wait a second.
Did they forget to give him the meds? And then Biden, when he's walking out on the stage, he's waving at people. There was nobody in the audience. Who was he waving at? More dead people?
Unbelievable. But I will say this, and we're going to get it, and we're going to do a deep dive, and the reaction pouring in from the mainstream media is a hoot, and we're going to get to all of that in just a moment. But I just want to say, what an incredible debate performance from Donald J. Trump last night. President Trump went in there and did exactly what he needed to do.
Now, granted, as the debate waned on, the president lost a little bit of that focus, But I will tell you that Donald Trump turned in a spectacular performance last night. He was able to maintain his cool. He was calm. He was collected. The attacks on Biden were measured, but he delivered a winning presidential performance.
And last night I was watching, I think it was CNN, David Plouffe, who was Obama's former guy. David Plouffe said, you know, there are three years difference between Biden and Trump, but last night it looked like there were 30 years difference. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. We're taking your reaction.
Now, here's the deal. Today, I am broadcasting from our great affiliate, News Talk 1540 KXEL Waterloo Cedar Rapids in Iowa, here for a couple of big weekend events, and I'll be telling you more about that a little bit later. Today, we have a very special treat because KXEL is broadcasting our show live and not delay.
So all of you folks in Iowa, you call in today. You go to the very top of the lineup, the list, and you just might end up winning yourself a brand new copy of my new book called Twilight's Last Gleaming, Can America Be Saved?
So again, our telephone number here at the Liberty University studio in Iowa, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. Now, I want to play some audio. This is from MSDNC. And they have completely lost their lunch over there.
Cut number 19.
Okay, hold on a second. I agree with everything you said, except for the last part of it. Everybody calm down, and I'll tell you why. I mean, it's fine to not spin what happened last night, and we're not going to. By the way, Mika, everybody's calm here.
No, you're the only one raising your voice. Everybody is calm here. But again, it's the let's just immediately pull this. Let's end this. Let's find someone else.
That's not what Mike said. That attitude toward this is what I am saying slow down on. Because again, there's no spinning it. But let's be balanced. Let's for once show some balance in a media world that is so shrill within balance that we've become ignored.
to the difference between these two candidates.
So let's put it this way. Gene Robinson, I'll go to you. Wait, wait, I just have to stop you. First of all, we always show balance. We are, yeah.
Secondly, nobody's panicking. I said these were questions that Democrats and Joe Biden needed to ask themselves. And Mike said he missed one pitch down the middle after another and wasn't up to it last night. Right, okay, wasn't up to it last night. said last night so i i will say that it's not panic i mean it's it's it's not being panicked to understand what's at station and understand the window is closing very quickly and um and if last night did not reveal that to you and other democrats then it needs to be revealed pretty soon all right so and again just a little bit of the conversation from this morning it's all over the place, folks.
But hear me on this. This was all a setup. For months now, they have been trying, a Democrat leadership, they've been trying to get Biden to pull out. But Biden refuses to do so. And the reason why is because of the First Lady, Jill Biden, Mrs.
Dr. First Lady Jill Biden. This woman is power mad. She is guilty of elder abuse, as we all saw last night. This woman refuses to let Joe pack it in.
I don't even think that Joe understands that he is president of the United States, and I don't mean that in a flippant sort of way. I mean, nobody is there. Cheese done slid off that cracker, ladies and gentlemen. Joe Biden is not there. Hello, hello, hello.
Nobody's there. Nobody's home.
So they've been trying for months now to get him to step aside. He's not going to do it. And at this point, I think the Democrats, Hillary and Obama, had no other choice but to basically destroy this man on live television, on CNN, the most profane name in news. That's what happened last night. And the reason I say that the media is colluding here, within a half an hour of that debate, but within a half an hour of the debate being finished, ladies and gentlemen, The New York Times already had a hit piece against Biden published and on its website.
That does not happen that quickly. As a matter of fact, when you listen to all of the talking heads on all of the other stations, they're all working off the same talking points. To a person, the first thing they would say is, my phone is blowing up with senior Democrat officials. Every single person on CNN and MSDNC said the exact same thing, almost to the exact same verbiage.
So it looks as though everybody knew how this was going to play out, and they were prepared to go from day one. But think about this. Joe Biden has been sequestered at Camp David for seven days. Seven days. Nobody's seen the guy.
Nobody's heard from the guy. We understand he was doing this deep, intense debate prep. Really? And that's as good as it's going to get after seven days on ice? That's as good as it's going to get?
Oh, by the way, so about midway through the debate last night, because the reporter's like, what the heck is going on here? And the White House said, well, the president is dealing with a cold. He just has a bad cold. All right, if that's the case, then you knew that going into the debate last night.
So what do you do?
Well, a couple of hours before the debate, you tell people, you tell the reporters, hey, just a heads up, guys, Biden's got the sniffles. He's been a snorting Robitussin, so the voice may be a little raspy, but he's still going to get out there and he's going to give it his best Delaware try. That's what you do if you really have a cold. But the reality here is the better thing was to convince the media that he had a cold instead of dealing with the real issue, which is the late stages of dementia. That's where we are right now.
All right.
So we're going to open up the phone lines here. 901-260-5926. Let's go to Tracy in Memphis, Tennessee, KWAM, our flagship station. All right, Tracy, what say you? What did you think about the debate last night?
You know, it was the most civil debate I've ever seen, actually. But I do miss the jokes. I really do. But after the debate, I got about a million texts from family members that, you know, they've been on the Trump train. And they were saying, we had a marvelous day.
A marvelous day. It was great. It was successful.
So he handled himself. You know, he was very professional. I must say Trump was. And Mr. Biden, I just felt sorry for him.
He was struggling. He really was, you know. At some point, at some point, Tracy, I was just looking for Congressman Jamal Bolman to run in and pull the fire alarm and, like, save the day. I mean, somebody should have run onto that stage, thrown in the towel, and said, you know what, that's it. We're done here.
there's no need to go any further i'm with you i felt i felt really really bad for the president because he didn't know where he was and he didn't know what he was doing yeah yeah i i yeah i mean you know come on you have to draw the line somewhere but uh like i said i mr trump he was uh uh he was he he was civil i he he did sneak in one little joke i think but it wasn't you know I love to hear him talk. It wasn't really boring. It still wasn't boring because I like to hear him.
Well, no, everybody stayed glued to their TV. They were afraid Biden was just going to keel over on national television. I mean, that's a loop. All right, Tracy, appreciate that call. Here's my favorite moment of the night, and I think this was the ultimate kill shot.
Cut number 17. on the the the total initiative relative to what we're going to do with more border patrol and more asylum officers president trump i really don't know what he said at the end of this and i don't think he knows what he said either look we had the safest border in the history of our country the board all he had to do is leave it all he had to do is to leave it yeah that's that's the kill show i don't know what the guy was talking i don't think he does either and it's true all All right, got to take a quick break here. Again, broadcasting from Newstalk 1540 KXEL, our great affiliate, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our telephone number, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

So I just don't trust them at all. And I pray our God will save our country. yeah i'm with i'm with you marcia there was just something evil about what we saw last night and and i think that i just felt an odd sense of compassion for joe biden last night yes i totally agree with that too i just it's just a sad thing to put anybody through what he just went through now marcia um we're going to hook you up with a copy of my brand new book Twilight's Last Gleaming, Can America Be Safe?

Well, Marsha, you guys have a great town, by the way. And I will say this. I had never had a breaded pork cutlet before. And sweet mercy, Marsha, that was one of the best things I've ever eaten. That's great.
They are good. You are in Iowa.
Well, yeah, you guys know your way around pork in this state and corn.
So, all right, Marsha, hang tight. We're going to get all of your great particulars there. Let's go to Mike in Iowa, listening to us on KXEL. Hi, Mike. What's on your mind?
Good morning, sir. How are you? Mike, you know, I am doing great. Not only that, somebody served me. They told me it's something called breakfast pizza, which is a popular thing around here, and from one of the local gas stations.
And geez, aloo. I don't know why everybody is so nice and physically fit and healthy here. You guys have some great food in these parts.
Well, you've got to try one of those Casey's morning pizzas. Them breakfast pizzas are fantastic. It's unbelievable. All right.
Yeah. Mike. I'm looking forward to meeting you tomorrow, and I'm going to be there early. And I'm listening to you and Jeff this morning on KXL, as I always listen to KXL. And listen to Jeff.
He's fantastic. Good friend.
So I'm looking forward to meeting you tomorrow for sure. and I'm going to be there early. The doors, I don't know what time they're going to open, but I'm going to be there early, probably around 11, 11, 30. Both start at noon. But if I have to wait in the car, that's what I'm going to do.
But as far as last night, I didn't watch it. But I was listening to you this morning with Jeff and understanding what transpired. I guess my conclusion is what kind of a woman would let her husband do something as disastrous as that. If that ain't abuse of your spouse, I don't know what the heck is. You know, Mike, you are spot on accurate.
There's something just off about that entire family. And there is no family dynamic. It's a criminal enterprise. I mean, and we saw that play out. I did not see love or compassion coming from the First Lady last night.
she should have walked him off and by the way that was one of the weird things CNN cut away at the very end when he clearly lost it again and and Biden didn't know where he was on that stage and the first lady had to literally come over and physically move him off of that stage otherwise he would have taken a tumble off those stairs it's it's a tragedy and it's shameful and despicable and shame on democratic leadership because they saw this coming but more importantly shame on the Biden family because they know what's going on here and they're only in it for a paycheck. That's all. Mike, I'm looking forward to meeting you tomorrow and all of our listeners. Come on out, folks. It's a it's a free day.
Great food fellowship. I'm going to be speaking again. It is at the the big cattle Congress Pavilion in Waterloo starting at noon tomorrow. All right.
Hang tight, folks. Senator Marsha Blackburn coming up. 901-260-5926. That's promo code STARS. And this has been, quite frankly, a car accident in slow motion that we've seen over and building and questioning it. And, you know, as has been pointed out, Joe Biden sought this debate at this remarkably early time because he knew he was losing and he needed to change the narrative. And he did change the narrative. He sunk his campaign today.
There you go. It looks like the Democrats have lost Chris Wallace. Hello, everybody. Welcome back to the Todd Stern Show. We are broadcasting today from Waterloo, Iowa.
Tomorrow I'll be speaking at the National Cattle Congress Pavilion and look forward to meeting all of you great folks at Iowa Fest. Starts at noon tomorrow in Waterloo. I want to go right now, though, to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Say hello to Senator Marsha Blackburn. Senator, I understand you were in Atlanta last night, and I'm curious to hear from you.
What was the initial reaction when Biden came out on that stage and first started talking? Todd, when he walked out on that stage and was waving to the crowd that was not there, I sitting in that spin room with a group of senators, I said, I don't think he realizes there is no crowd in the room. And then, of course, if he started to talk and as he appeared so incredibly weak and frail, he could not defend his failed policies, his failed administration. He was dishonest in some of his answers, complete misrepresentation of time, place, occurrences like the Border Patrol endorsement, things of that nature, and saying no troops had been killed on his time of service. I was stunned.
I think everyone was stunned. And President Trump was clear and focused. He showed leadership. He was able to defend his record, which was a very good record. and then he was able to build out a vision of what he would do with a second term.
And, of course, as President of the United States, Joe Biden should have been able to defend his record. He has been there for nearly four years, but he did not have that capacity. Senator, are you hearing from any Democrats within the Senate their reaction to what happened last night? What are they saying? You know, I have not talked to any Senate Democrats.
I have heard from some of my friends who were Democrats in independence, and they had been losing faith in what the Democrat Party was doing because they kept saying they're going too far left. They've gotten over into this progressiveness. They've gotten into this pro-Hamas, pro-Palestine. They've gotten into all of this Green New Deal and DEI and things that they did not see as being good for America and for our freedoms. And I think that what you saw was Democrats began to pull away.
And today, Todd, I think they're primarily in free fall. And while I've not talked to any of the Senate Democrats, I'm certain that those that are on the ballot are very concerned about what the top of the ticket would do and if this implodes the Democrat turnout for November. it's just shocking and and i found myself i watched the entire thing senator and i felt pity for for president biden and the fact that nobody you know his wife why would she allow her husband to to be on that stage i don't understand that see i don't i don't get that either i uh i cannot imagine allowing or putting up with putting a loved one in that type position. But Todd, we've seen these positions occur more regularly over the last four years. And of course, his campaign in 2020 was pretty much carried out from the basement.
And you saw very little of him except in very controlled or scripted situations and situations where he had a teleprompter.
So it is of concern not only for his health and well-being, but for the country and knowing that world leaders were watching this last night. You know, I'm wondering, and again, everybody was talking about, oh, you know, there's no way he's going to be able to go the distance. I'm concerned about right now. I mean, this is the commander in chief, and I did not see a man who was in control of his faculties last night. And I'm wondering if there's any scuttlebutt about the 25th Amendment, invoking the 25th Amendment, based on what happened last night.
I have not talked to anyone that has mentioned that. As I said, I've talked to friends who are independents and Democrats, and their mind was solidly made up. I think there is some conversation. Democrats are saying, what could we possibly do to restructure a ticket? But Todd, as you know, the Democrat Party rules for their convention are quite onerous.
They're built to protect an incumbent, and it would be very, very difficult for them to replace him in a brokered convention. And following that, it would be very difficult to get that individual on the ballot in all 50 states.
so um i i think that they've got their candidate and they are going to have to stay with their candidate well it's just just shocking now senator uh president trump said uh in a rather coy way a few days ago that his vp pick would be there at the at the debate uh senator you were there last night. Among others, any chance that you might be one of the people the president's looking at? You know, I'm going to do whatever I can to help President Trump win this election. Our country needs Donald Trump, and I do believe this election is probably the most pivotal of my lifetime as we look at what we're facing, not only domestically, but what we're facing globally. And I have not had that conversation with him.
I talked with him this morning. I congratulated him on a great debate. We had a wonderful conversation. He is energized. He looking forward to the conversation at the convention and I think they looking forward to learning who he will choose as his running mate All right.
Well, Senator, we're going to leave it there. I know a lot of people in Collierville, Tennessee, very excited. You're going to be speaking July 12th at the VFW post there. That's post 5066. and our friends over at kwamradio.com have all the details over on their website.
But you'll have a great time there, Senator. You have a lot of fans in that part of West Tennessee.
Well, I'm looking forward to be there and it's always so good to talk with you. Thanks so much. All right, Senator Marsha Blackburn, ladies and gentlemen, and we love her as senator in Tennessee, but she would make one heck of a vice president as well. I'll just go on the record and say that. All right, and again, folks, if you're in West Tennessee and you want to meet Senator Blackburn, you can do that Friday, July 12th, 7 o'clock in the morning.
But it's a fun little breakfast they have, and Justin Johnson and the great team over there at the VFW, they really are doing a great job getting out the vote. All right, 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. Let's try to work on a call here. Let's go to Doug in Georgia, WDUN, our great affiliate. Hey, Doug, what's going on?
All right, so Doug is not there. Let's go to Jim, Lakeland, Tennessee, K-W-A-M. Hi, Jim. Hi, Tom. Thank you for taking my call.
Another question I've got to ask. Do you think that the Democrats intentionally put him up there to look so bad that it would give him an excuse to replace him? Yes. Yeah, I do believe that, Jim. The problem, and you just heard the senator say this, they have such onerous rules and regulations that I'm not sure it's about replacing him.
It's just about forcing him to step aside and pull an LBJ and announce that he's not going to be, you know, seeking the nomination anymore. You know, the funny part to me, one of the funny parts that Trump did was when he said, I don't know what he said. I don't think he does either. I mean, I mean, he was real sharp and real smooth with what he talked about. And it was just because I like putting a mountain lion in a cage with a baby lamb.
well that's a great way of looking at it uh but yeah it was brutal that was brutal i i'm not even sure i think even the most die-hard america first mega patriots felt felt sympathy for joe biden last night that was just brutal hey we got a run here uh my friend uh jim thank you for listening in 901-260-5926 that's 901-260-5926 um shanklin writing in there's no love in the biden family what father sends his son out to be a bag man for his dirty international business dealings and what wife sends her husband out on stage knowing he will probably soil himself oh fair question we'll be right back for the ones who know safety isn't a catchphrase it's a culture and the ones who help make sure everyone makes it home safe. For the safety-minded who watch everyone's backs, Grainger offers supplies and solutions for every industry as well as safety assessments and training to keep your facilities safe and your people safer. Hang tight if you're on the phone lines. We're going to get to your calls today. It is also open line Friday as we broadcast from the nation's heartland today. Getting ready for our big weekend event in Waterloo, Iowa. If you are anywhere in the heartland, come on by.
Hang out with us tomorrow noon at the Cattle Congress Pavilion. All right, let's go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker Line. Congressman Greg Stubbe joins us from the 17th Congressional District in Florida.
So, Congressman, I think this was a hit job last night on Joe Biden by the Democrats. I agree with you 100%. You agree? Absolutely. What do you think happens now?
Joe Biden clearly damaged. Are the Democrats going to put somebody else out there? It's really telling when you have the New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, mainstream media, like calling into question his ability. Like it was the White House that wanted to do this CNN debate. It was like the Democrats that wanted to do the CNN debate.
And they set him up to put him in this position. And it's very, very apparent. I mean, you couldn't have a starker, brighter difference between two candidates and their physical ability and their mental acuity. And I think they did this to try to set it. I think they've been trying to push him out for a while.
And, you know, there's been a ton of rumors about who would replace them and how they would do it. But technically, they don't until their their conference, which is in August, that those delegates now they're pledged to Joe Biden. But if Joe Biden decides to pull out, then those those delegates are free to vote for whoever they want. And then the question is, who do they replace him with? I just I don't know.
I mean, it's been a rumored thing for a while. I wouldn't be shocked that in a week you see Joe Biden, you know, take the stage and say, I can't do this anymore. And then again, it's the Democratic Party that's going to put a person up for president that not a single American has voted for in any state in our country. I mean, just let your let your head wrap around that for a little bit right before the convention. And they're just going to plop somebody else in there.
I think it would have to be Kamala just from a financial standpoint. If those donors gave money to Biden Harris's campaign, that money is not fungible. It can't go to somebody else. I don't know. and then Kamala would be able to, if it's her, then obviously she'd be able to pick a new VP.
I don't know. I think we're in completely uncharted territories. As a conservative who wants Trump to win, obviously Joe Biden being on the ticket is great for us, I think.
So I think that's a great thing for us to have Trump versus Biden in November because moderates, independents, they see that he's completely incapable, which completely calls into question all the things that the White House has been saying about him being able to run circles around his staff. Yeah, I'm with you. I'm still waiting for KJP to come out and say that what happened last night really didn't happen. It was one of these cheap fakes again. It was somebody screwed up the video.
It's all deep fake. Didn't really happen. It's unbelievable. On the other hand, President Trump was prepared. I was just really impressed with his debate performance last night.
He did a great job. People obviously have told him he needs to dial back the attacks and have a much more calm demeanor about himself. I thought he did an excellent job. I think he displayed the differences between the two candidates very, very well on the issues. talked about things that one he has done and things that he will do and then called out the lies.
I mean, Joe Biden straight up says on national television that the border patrol union endorsed him. They didn't endorse him. They endorsed Donald Trump. And what's crazy is like during that right away, border patrols union sends out a tweet saying, Nope, we haven't endorsed Joe Biden. We're not going to ever endorse Joe Biden.
So like he, he just makes stuff up and it's, It's great that Trump was able to call a lot of that out. And Joe Biden lies about everything from who's endorsed him to his handicap in his golf game. And it's finally gotten to the point. They've lied to Americans for so long that it's finally got to the point where everyday Americans realize that everything that comes out of this White House is a lie. And you go back to Russia, Russia, Russia.
You go back to the – and I'm glad this was brought up too in the debate. 51 intelligence individuals and if you go back to the last debate that joe biden and trump had joe biden stood on the stage and said that 51 people said that that that that hunter's laptop was russian disinformation completely dismissed it and all of that was a lie we now know that all of those people lied and um i i'm glad that trump was able to hit on that a little bit last night all right congressman we gotta leave it there it has been a slammed day and we appreciate you hopping on for some coverage and some analysis and we'll look forward to having you back on the show very soon yeah anytime thanks for having me all right congressman greg steuby out of florida ladies and gentlemen i do want to try to work on so many folks wanting to weigh in here uh let's go to richard in iowa listening to us on kxel hey richard what you got for us i love your show thank you um i have a um i heard a speech by obama in october of 2016 and he said that uh vote for hillary is a vote for him i think that's what this whole four years has been about you know but uh jill biden doesn't even know where he is half the time i think that's he just took over the whole thing yeah richard i mean there's a lot of truth there and it's been said that this is actually barack obama's third term in office and and i think i think you're spot on accurate there and and i appreciate you reminding us what obama said in 2016 because he's still the guy that's running the show that that's what's going on here richard i wish we could chat more maybe we can do it tomorrow would love to meet you at the national cattle congress uh the pavilion there We're going to be out there, free food, milkshakes, fellowship, family-friendly fun. Oh, yeah.
Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Starrs Radio Program.
So happy to have you with us today. And we have taken the show on the road, flew in yesterday, and I want to thank our good friend Mary Walter. just did a terrific job filling in. We've got a lot to get through today. um 901-260-5926 real quick i want to go to the phones um joe from ella j georgia one of our first callers today joe thanks for holding on uh what's your take on the debate last night john i thought it was a huge win for trump i think he's going to have a landslide win i don't think biden will survive but trump was just great and i think he's going to win a landslide victory I think we'll take over the Senate and we'll increase our majorities in the House. And I think the stock market will hit all-time highs.
So I'm really fired up. And everybody I know here in Georgia. And Steve Moore told me if Trump wins Georgia, that he's going to be the next president.
Well, there's no question in my mind, Todd, that Trump will win Georgia. And so I'm predicting the landslide victory for Trump. And I'm really fired up. And thanks for all you do. You do a great job, and you're going to be one of the reasons why we're going to have the landslide win for Donald Trump.
I think it's going to be a good election season for President Trump, Joe, and I appreciate you calling in. Always thank you for those kind words. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. And if you're calling from Waterloo or you're listening to KXEL today and you get on the air, well, you will get a signed copy of my brand-new book, Twilight's Last Gleaming. Again, 901-260-5926.
I want to go right now to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Our good friend, national correspondent Robin Poffman in Atlanta.
So, Robin, I have been waiting since last night when Biden walked out onto that stage. And as Senator Blackburn so eloquently said, Todd, he waved at a crowd that was not there. He was not there. It was the saddest thing. When I saw him, I prayed because I was I was thinking to myself, are they is this guy about to have a medical emergency?
That was my first thought with the with the weird stare. You know, it was his choice to be on the right side of the two podiums, you know.
So obviously the campaign or he thought that that, you know, how people get photographed and it's a better angle on left or right. and every time he looked over at Trump or didn't look at Trump, I thought the guy was just going to keel over. And there had to be somebody in the control room over there at CNN that was thinking, call 911. It was scary. It was frightening.
But I want to say this about last night. You know, there's a lot of liberals who are first waking up and they were so shocked to see the president in this condition. And conservatives who watch conservative media and listen to conservative radio and hear the soundbites and have watched this decline. Let me make an analogy here. This is like when you went to visit grandma on Christmas, right?
And now you go to visit grandma again and it's Easter Sunday and grandma is not looking good. And the decline because grandma has the dementia and is in her 80s. And you're like stunned when you first see grandma on Easter because you remember her differently on Christmas. That's what last night was for liberals who have not seen Biden on TV since he's shouting at the State of the Union. And I think it was a total stunner for a lot of people that are not in the know because CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the mainstream media don't show the clips that are shown on conservative TV networks.
You know, Robin, that's a terrific point. I want to play some of this. First, this is Joyless Reed. She's a lady hostess over at MSDNC. Let's play cut seven, Dylan.
I, too, was on the phone throughout much of the debate with Obama world people, with Democrats, with people who are political operatives, with campaign operatives. My phone really never stopped buzzing throughout. And the universal reaction was somewhere approaching panic. The people who were texting with me were very concerned about President Biden seeming extremely feeble, seeming extremely weak. And then, Robin, this is CBS News correspondent Ed O'Keefe, cut number 10.
There are at least some House Democrats who were gathered tonight watching this together talking about talking to the White House about having him step down. That's how bad it was in their view. You think that's going to happen, Robin? I think it could. I think that the ultimate enabler here, that the person that is keeping this man on the stage is wife Jill Biden.
She is the person who is responsible for this. I also believe that there's 16 people, the 16 advisers, quote unquote, that were helping him, advising him, preparing him for this debate. You have to imagine that the likes of Ron Klain, people like that knew how bad this was, and still yet they paraded him out there. And so I'm in the camp of people that think that Jill Biden is the person that's keeping him on the stage. And I think that those 16 advisors, some of them, maybe not all, but some of them, at least one to two, knew that this was going to be a train wreck on the highway.
This was going to be that car crash that everybody looks at, right? You look at on the highway because it's so unbelievable, and that this is the way to get him off the stage. They knew that millions of people were going to be tuned in, the highest ratings ever for a debate. It was shown in simulcast all over the place. And I'm telling you that this is the way for them to get Gavin Newsom in the door.
I remember, Todd, being on your show, what, two years ago, three years ago, And I said, you can cue the tape, the number one thing I said about this election, that it was going to come down to age between these two men. And David Poffman, you know, who is Obama's guy, said, again, three years difference, age difference between those guys. He says last night it looked like 30 years, to your point. Hey, Robin, I want to bring in a caller here. Guys, let's bring in Dennis from Georgia, listening to us on WDUN.
in and robin i want you to weigh in on what dennis is going to share with us all right dennis what's on your mind today well good well good afternoon and thanks so much for your show todd my wife and i enjoy it very much let me tell you um if my wife she would have been arrested this morning for abusing me i mean that's not not that kind of abuse but anyway but anyway having me go out there knowing that I was not all there. That was my father about 13 years ago. And I know what he was like. He was just like this man. He wasn't all there.
And all I can say is I remember when a bunch of Republicans went up to LBJ, I mean to Richard Nixon and said, for the good of the party, you've got to get out. And one last thing, I kept waiting for an oxygen mask to come down from the ceiling above Joe Biden. He needed it. But anyway, I feel so much better getting that off my chest.
Well, I'm glad we can help out there. Thank you for that, Dennis. You know, Robin, to his point, I can't imagine, going to just put politics aside, the humanity of this, who would do this to a loved one? only someone who enjoyed the perks of being the first lady of the united states it's elder abuse but you have to look at the totality todd of that entire family okay these are enablers extreme enablers look at how they enabled the son hunter biden look at the level of extreme enabling so that's all she knows she's been enabling the son who clearly has a drug problem or had a drug problem and all the money and all the antics that went on with Hunter allegedly allegedly and then she's enabling her husband to stay on the stage so she can continue to be the first lady but I think that they're going to be under so much pressure to get a young vibrant person in there I don't agree with any of Gavin Newsom California governor's policies like I agree with zero but he's going to be the guy. And then you have the whole Kamala Harris, what are they going to do with her?
And, you know, you saw her on the TV last night on the cables. Wow. That's a scary proposition. And how do you handle that situation?
Well, when you have to haul out the VP after the president's debate, you know you've lost. I mean, that's a done deal. Dennis, thank you for that call. Hey, Robin, let's bring in John from Iowa. He's listening to us on KXEL.
KXEL. We are broadcasting live from the KXEL studios today. And, John, first of all, good to have you with us. And I'm very, very curious to hear what you have to say.
Well, thank you very much, Todd. I think there's a much more devious plan ahead here, and it's not to replace Biden. I think that they will replace Kamala by offering her a Supreme Court nomination. and instead of replacing biden they will drop in for vice president barack obama wow so robin what ticket hold on a second here john robin what do you think about that that idea that maybe it's kamala who's the one that's got to go oh well she definitely has to go the question is what do you do with her i mean there's there's two ways of doing it there's like what your caller is saying, will you give her another job, like a life appointment on the Supreme Court? She is an attorney.
So that might be a decent fit for someone, you know, in her position just to get her off the VP ticket. It's possible or she on her own just says, hey, you know, I've got something else to do in California and I'm done. I would probably go with door number one in your caller that they're going to find something else for her to do, unless she wants to be president and she doesn't want to get off the stage either. I'm just not sure. I don't know her that well.
I will say one thing to you, Todd, and to the caller. I spoke today. I had an off-the-record conversation today with one of the head people for the Trump Force 47 operation here in the state of Georgia. And let me tell you something. Trump Force 47, they don't care who they're going to put up on the left, the VP and all this.
They don't care who is in that slot. They are going full throttle to make sure that there is a fair election here in Georgia after all the antics that went on in 2020. And I'm telling you, the vibe here in the state, and I travel all across it, Trump is going to win Georgia this round.
Well, certainly the Atlanta Journal poll coming out yesterday showing Trump almost up 10 points over Biden there in Georgia. Hey, John, don't go anywhere. Since you're calling in from KXE, I want to hook you up with a signed copy of my latest book and hope to see you and your family out at Iowa Fest tomorrow. Hope you can make it out there. I certainly will, and thank you so much.
All right.
Thank you for calling in. Robin, final thoughts here as we've got to run for a break. Do you think this is going to matter at the end of the day, or do you think this is going to be a Republican landslide come the fall? i i think that biden is going to have his richard nixon moment i said that to my husband this morning and he laughed but i think he's going to step off the stage um he's going to be forced to step off the stage and i don't mean trip and it's going to happen before the august deadline uh before the convention you know with the whole ohio law situation where they have to you know who's going to be on the ballot to get all the delegates i think he's going to step down i think gavin Newsom is the new guy. Kamala Harris, not sure.
Possibly a Supreme Court. That's a viable option, but you don't want her on the ticket because it's going to be a big, not just a loser, it'll be a big loser. Yeah, I'm with you. And of course, that was a pretty, that infamous moment back in, was it, 74 when you had Barry Goldwater and all of these Republican leaders going to the White House. You had John Rhodes, who was then the minority leader and the Senate minority leader, and they met with Nixon and said, Mr.
President, you don't have the votes. You don't have the votes. And that's why Nixon ultimately, if Nixon, if the Republicans would have had Nixon's back on all of that, he would never have resigned. But we're in a, you know, but again, I think we're in a weird situation, Robin, where if, you know, you could have Senate leaders, Obama leading the charge, going to knock on the front door of the White House saying, Joe, got to have a talk. I think it's already been done.
Wow. All right, Robin, we got to leave it there. It's going to be wild. And we still have July 11th to talk about. That's coming up.
This thing is far from over. And, Robin, love having you on today. We're going to get you back on. And I wish you were here in Iowa. You would love it.
Great people out here. Yeah, hope to see you soon in person, Todd. Take care, and God bless you. Robin Poppin, everybody, on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. All right.
Our number, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. Did you know that oil, coal, and natural gas are not the climate villains that the legacy media asks us to believe that they are? Did you know that 8 billion people will eat just today because fossil fuels ran the sophisticated machinery that produced all the food necessary to do so?
or how they power the complex heating and cooling systems to keep people alive through extreme temperatures? What would you do without AC or heat? Fossil fuels have literally been the hero in the prevention of billions of deaths and the extension of life. I'm Calvin McCullough, and I want you to know the facts. Please go to oilfacts.com and get educated today on these critical facts, the need for American energy and what we can do to keep billions more catastrophic deaths from happening.
These facts are irrefutable. OilFacts.com. That's OilFacts.com. These facts are brought to you by Prairie Operating Group, dedicated to safe and responsible production of American energy. Hello, Todd.
This is Cosmo Kramer from the Pacific Northwest. And after watching the debate last night, I am terrified. I would love for Trump to run against Biden because I think he would just run away with the election.
However, we've got to consider the fact that we've got the Russian Navy parked off our shores right now. We've got ISIS on our soil right now. And I'm terrified for our country because the whole world knows that we do not have a president and we don't have one on standby.
Well, and Cosmo's absolutely right about that. There's a lot to be concerned about. And certainly our enemies I sure they very gleeful over the current state of affairs in this country By the way the CNN poll who won the debate Trump 67 percent Biden, 33 percent. Again, this is why you have so many people in the Democrat world freaking out. All right, let's go to the phone lines here.
901-260-5926. Mike from Iowa. Hi, Mike. What's on your mind? Hi.
Thank you for having me on. I watched the debate last night, most of it. It was extremely frustrating. To me, it was hard to tell who was lying the least. And Mr.
Stearns, I'm a very conservative. I like to think I was Republican, but I think I'm even more conservative than that. And so it's frustrating to hear and see those guys stretching the truth. And why not just lay down the facts or as clear numbers as they have instead of exaggerating? That's the one thing about Trump that frustrates me.
Otherwise, I love the things he's done. I just don't like how he talks.
Well, but can you put that aside, Mike? I mean, at the end of the day, I mean, if you had social media around back in the days of Reagan and I would say Eisenhower, I suspect you would hear very similar things coming from those guys. You know, it's a very different world in the area of communications. And I think a lot of that plays into it. Mike, I hate to do this.
We are coming up on a hard break here. I'm going to continue my answer to your question when we get right back. Hang tight, everybody. Hi, everyone. If you've been injured in an accident that was not your fault, listen up.

Well, Maria, first off, thank you for having me here. It's always nice to answer the listeners' questions.
Now, as far as who should call in, anyone who's been injured in an accident and think you deserve compensation, give us a call right now. 800-702-5400. You'll find out if you have a case and how much it's potentially worth. Thanks, John. You heard it, folks.
Take advantage of this opportunity and call now. 800-702-5400. Advertisement sponsored by Legal Help Center may not be available in all states. All right, folks, welcome back to the show. By the way, Biden is holding a rally in North Carolina, and it's just not going well.
We're going to pull some audio from that and share it with you in just a few moments. By the way, the crowd lining up before the sun rose in Virginia Beach. President Trump is holding a rally this afternoon. You can watch that on Newsmax. And by the way, you'll be able to watch my show coming up at 5 o'clock Eastern.
And we're going to do a blow-by-blow of what happens next as the Democrats freak out about Joe Biden. Real quick, I want to go to the phones here. Gina in Georgia. Hi, Gina. What's on your mind today?
Hey, Todd. I was calling about that rally. I was just watching that, and I wanted to know, oh, my gosh, how much are they paying those people, and where did they find them? Because you know we have never seen him have any kind of rally like that. And they are hyped up, oh, four more years, four more years, just on and on, loud.
I mean, they must have paid them a chunk. Yeah, it's very strange. All of a sudden, and by the way, it's a pretty tight shot of the president, so they're not showing the full crowd. And so I'm hoping we're going to get some reporting out of this rally as to whether or not the arena was filled and what sort of crowd, because you're right, I have never seen so many people under the age of 18 in an arena cheering for, you know, old Joe. I'm not buying it.
No, me either. And they also have been blurred back behind him so that you can't really see who they are. You know, Trump's folks, you can see them clear as day. Can I say one more thing? Yeah, go ahead.
Okay, about the media's reaction.
So you're so right. This has to be just an orchestrated setup because the media, they're acting like this is the first time they've seen him be this way. Oh, my gosh, we see this every day with him. and this was even not as bad as some things we've seen right it's a great point suddenly you know all of a sudden they're like oh my gosh he's terrible oh they see it every single day yeah they they do and and i'll say this gina i know people are and i've heard some conservatives say oh jake tamper dana bash did a great job last night i i disagree with that and and here's the reason why they allowed Joe Biden to spew flat-out lies going back to Charlottesville, Russia collusion, the lawsuits, and they, I believe, they had a responsibility to set the record straight, and they didn't. They just said nothing, and at one point, when Biden's brain malfunctioned early on, it was Jake Tapper who stepped in and helped the president, you know, get back on his feet again.
You are right. He did. And also at this rally today, he is still fearing those lies. He just told the one about, you know, Trump calling the people in the cemetery. What was it?
Losers and suckers and losers suckers. Yeah, it didn't happen. It didn't happen. All right, Gina, good call. Thank you.
And thanks for listening today. I want to go to our Patriot mobile newsmaker line, we shared some reports with you a few weeks ago. There are growing concerns that there is a movement afoot to change some of the planks in the GOP platform. And it received a great article, and I knew we had to get this person on the show to talk about it. Her name is Kristen Ullman.
She is president of Eagle Forum and wrote an article called A Banner of Bold Colors, the GOP platform. Chris, good to have you with us today. It's great to be with you, Todd.
So I'm just curious, because I've been hearing this, I've been out on the speaking circuit, and a lot of Republicans rank and file grassroots are telling me that there are concerns the GOP may start to waffle on the abortion issue and the definition of marriage. Are you hearing anything like that?
Well, one of the problems this year is we're hearing very little out of the campaign and out of the platform committee. We did just get access to a document that basically says the 2024 Republican Party platform is going to be more like a contract with America. It's going to be very short. Of course, we don't know what that means. Does that mean one page, two page?
We don't know. It doesn't say anything about what will be included other than it says it will lay out a clear vision for the Republican Party.
So we are hopeful that even if it is a shorter document, it will contain that very, very important language on life and language on marriage and a number of other very conservative things that we have always believed were the hallmark to the Republican Party. And, of course, the late Phyllis Schlafly and Eagle Forum have been so vitally important and crucial to crafting that original language that ultimately led to, I believe, the successful presidencies of Reagan and W. Bush and Donald Trump. absolutely and that language has been basically the same since 1984 um but the platform itself has been pro-life has indicated a commitment to recognizing the fundamental right to life of the unborn um and then since 84 at least we've had language in there calling for a human life amendment to the constitution and endorsing legislation that makes clear that the 14th amendment protections apply to unborn children. That's not a lot.
It's a very short statement. If they want to go with a shorter platform, we can just take that one sentence and pop it right in there and we're good to go.
So, by the way, folks, Kristen Oldman, president of the Eagle Forum on our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line, eagleforum.org, the website, eagleforum.org.
So when does all of this get sorted out? Is it before they get to Milwaukee or while they're in Milwaukee? Actually, the platform is going to be meeting July 7th. It's the night that the delegates will get the platform, and then they will meet on Monday, July 8th, and Tuesday, July 9th, and finish up work on the platform so that when the official convention starts, that next Sunday or Monday, the platform will be finished. And so I am going out there, and one of my colleagues, we're working with a coalition of pro-lifers, both on the platform committee and off it, to make sure that we let President Trump know how important this plank is.
It was important to his 2016 victory. It's important to the voters out there. And I know he said last night that, you know, you've got to win to get the job done. And we just want him to know that in order to win, you have to have a strong commitment to life. That will help you win.
If people are telling you it will hurt you, they haven't looked at the history. And that we know a statement of principles will actually help him win and get back in the White House. All right.
Well, Kristen, we appreciate the fact that y'all are, pardon the pun here, but eagle eyes on this. And because we need somebody to do that. And, again, it is a terrific piece. Folks, you need to read this. A banner of bold colors, the GOP platform, eagleforum.org.
Kristen, we'd love to get you back on. It's been a crazy day with the debate coverage. But we'd love to get you back on as we get closer to decision day on the platform. Absolutely. And I'll be out in Milwaukee, so if you want to talk while I'm there, I'd be more than happy to come back on.
All right.
Kristen Ullman, everybody, president of Eagle Forum on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. Let's go to the phone lines again. Iowa, Bon, listening to us on KXEL.
What's on your mind today? Well, Todd, first of all, welcome to Iowa. Great to hear you on KXEL. Jeff Stein is a good friend of many people at KXEL. A colleague of mine, he does a great job filling in for you when you're out.
We're happy to have you in Iowa. I'm sorry I can't make the event tomorrow, but we're glad to have you in Iowa. First off, Todd.
Well, thank you. And regarding the debate last night, I'm a broadcast journalist myself here in Iowa.
Well, I've interviewed a number of presidential candidates over the years, and I've watched a lot of presidential debates. Last night was the single worst performance I've ever seen by a sitting president in a debate. This was even worse than the 1980 presidential debate where Ronald Reagan just trounced Jimmy Carter. In fact, Biden's performance last night made Jimmy Carter's 1980 debate, his performance, it made him look stellar. It made Jimmy Carter look awake and with it and alert.
A few thoughts on Trump. He constrained and restrained himself. He did the right thing in that he let Joe Biden talk. that was the right thing to do because the proof is in the pudding as my mom used to say let the other person talk and you'll find out facts and boy we sure found them out last night in that debate Todd wow you know we did Bon it reminded me and I remember I remember Jimmy Carter but there was another race and it was when James Stockdale who was Ross Perot's running mate Perot was staged what would have been. Perot actually could have been the first independent elected president until he went bonkers on us and blew up his campaign and then jumped back into that race.
That's one of the reasons why Bill Clinton, he won without getting a majority of the vote, right? Ross Perot had so much support that it split the vote. But anyway, Stockdale was the running mate, and it was so problematic. The guy was just so old. I mean, a great distinguished military career, but the guy was so old.
And if you remember during the debate, he said, who am I? Why am I here? And at that point, people were like, oh, boy, this is not good. And that's what that reminded me of last night. uh kind of like joe biden in fact really the only thing missing god with that debate last night compared to the 1980 debate with reagan carter the only thing missing was i waited for donald trump to say to uh biden there you go again like reagan said to carter but you know what trump didn't even need to do that no no he didn't even need to do it no he didn't and i thought it was interesting and again uh there was no handshake uh trump was all business and he would not look he would not look at biden biden was just goading him to some sort of a fight a confrontation and trump didn't take the bait and and it was it was tough because there were he was spewing so many lies and trump had every right to defend himself and i just thought the president did a heck of a great job well look bond appreciate you calling in and we hate there you're not going to be there tomorrow, but we're looking forward to meeting a lot of our great listeners.
Tomorrow, Iowa Fest.
So if you're in the neighborhood, come on down. Free food and milkshakes, the whole nine yards at the National Cattle Congress Pavilion. All the fun starts at noon. I'll be signing copies of my new book, Twilight Slash Gleaming. You're going to be able to meet some of the crew here at Newstalk 1540 KXEL.

So there you go. We'll keep you updated on that. Also, we're going to jump into what happened at the Supreme Court today. Massive news and hopefully very good news for J-6 defendants. defendants we're going to get into that as well uh let's get to the phone lines though a lot of folks uh still holding on and it is open line friday by the way uh 901-260-5926 that's 901-260-5926 let's go to brownsville tennessee miss dotty is listening to us on wtjs that's frankie lax territory.
Hi, Ms. Dottie. What's on your mind? Well, Mr. Starnes, I had said to many of my friends and associates, I will not watch the debates.
And everywhere I turned, people were talking about it.
So I finally turned off all my devices and went to bed. And I didn't hear anything about the debate until this morning. And as I heard the report, it was catastrophic for Mr. Joe Biden, which I'm not surprised, and they allowed it to happen. His party allowed it to happen because they want to get rid of him anyway.
So since his performance was very lackluster, he was confused. He looked like a deer in the headlights because they were showing some of the videos online this evening.
So I really don't feel sorry for them for they got what they wanted, and now they're paying the piper. I think everything you just said there is 1,000% accurate, and they do need him out. The other problem, though, Ms. Dottie, is they've got Kamala Harris, and everybody knows that she's certainly not qualified.
So you watch and see what's going to happen. And right now, by the way, the Biden's rally, he is screaming at the top of his lungs. He's just going at it. And we've got some audio we'll play in the next hour. But the whole point of this, do we have an hour?
Let's play it now, Dylan. America buys the no one, no one, no one, never one. Jeez, that's terrible.
So what happened to the cold? They told us yesterday he had a cold. And so now the cold is gone, and now he's got all this energy. The guy is clearly being medicated. How much they pay the people to show up at anything that he gives?
Ms. Dottie, you are a wise woman.
Well, you know, I'm from Washington, D.C. originally, so I've seen a lot of this, and I'm accustomed to what goes on in D.C. and I don't know what they think is going to be accomplished after the whole world saw his performance and they're saying, oh, well, maybe he shouldn't even have the nuclear codes, which I'm sure he doesn't. I'm sure someone else has secured them because he might wake up overnight and think that it's a pill or something and he might have to push it. Or he thought he was calling for room service for more ice cream.
And the next thing you know, India and Pakistan are gone. Ms. Dottie, I hate to do this. We are coming up on the top of the hour, so the computer's going to cut us off. But thank you.
You make a lot of sense. I want you to give us a call back one of these days. Folks, hang tight. Again, open line Friday. And if you're calling from Waterloo, KXEL, we're broadcasting live from the studios here.
And we would love to talk to you as well. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. We'll be right back, folks. Live from the Liberty University studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's Common Sense Conservative Commentary from Todd Starr.
That's us, that's right. I love this American ride. And hello everybody, welcome to the Todd Starnes Radio Program, broadcasting from our mobile Liberty University studio. I say mobile because today we are broadcasting our show from radio station KXEL in beautiful Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We're having a great time here getting ready for a series of weekend events.
Now, I told you that tomorrow I'll be speaking at the National Cattle Congress Pavilion, and that's going to be a great family event. Come on out. Be a part of Iowa Fest, and it starts at noon Saturday. If you would like to attend, all you need is a free ticket, and you can do that by going to kxcel.com slash Iowa Fest. That's KXEL.com slash IowaFest.
Tomorrow night, I'll be speaking at the Benton County, Iowa, Republican Central Committee meeting. It's going to be a lot of fun. They're going to have food. They feed you in Iowa, folks. They are not shy about the food.
Tomorrow night, Sloppy Joe's beef burgers and yours truly.
So I can't think of a better night. It's going to be over at the Tilford Elementary School.
So come on down and hang out with us in Vinton, Iowa. There is a charge for that event, $35 a person. But, hey, Sloppy Joes, I mean, come on. Joe, and by the way, I also want to say thank you to Mud Advertising, one of the nation's largest advertising agencies based right here in Iowa, and they do just about every automobile commercial you have seen they have produced.
Some incredible people there, And we're actually using their studios to do our Newsmax TV show. That's 5 o'clock Eastern tonight.
So I just want to say thank you so much to our friends over at Mudd Studio. And we're posting a lot of pictures from our trip out to Iowa. You can find those over at the Todd Stern's Instagram. All right.
I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Say hello to our good friend Elizabeth Pipko, who is the spokesperson for the RNC. Elizabeth, good to have you with us today. Thank you. So good to be with you.
So I'm very curious, after that just disaster for Democrats last night, what has been the response from the RNC? Are you guys getting a lot of calls from people donating money, asking to get involved in the upcoming election? Yeah, so this has been an incredible election cycle thus far. I can honestly tell you the excitement around President Trump and getting him back into the White House is through the roof. Anytime something happens to the president that we fear might disenfranchise voters or maybe scare them away from everything going on, including, for example, the sham verdict we all saw in New York, every single time the voters come back and they come back stronger and more excited, more positive, more patriotic than ever before.
So the response has been overwhelming, but it's been wonderful. He obviously dominated last night, and we're very excited to take this momentum, obviously, into Election Day. Are the phones lighting up there at RNC headquarters? What's been the post-debate reaction there at the RNC? The reaction has been wonderful.
It's a very strange time to kind of witness what we saw last night, see our commander-in-chief behave the way that he did, performed the way that he did and yet to celebrate here because it's you know a wonderful time to obviously be on this side of the aisle to work for president trump and to be on this obviously winning team but it's still a sad night overall for america i think last night was rough for everyone and i think people should realize just how unprecedented all of this is and what kind of moment this is and what kind of moment this will be looked at many many years of the future because this is truly american history what we saw last night should not have happened and i cannot that the Democrat Party put us into this mess. It's a dangerous position for the country to be in. I mean, our political enemies, Elizabeth, they were watching last night. They know what's going on here. And it's very concerning that the man who is the leader of the free world may not even be aware that he is in that role.
Exactly. I filmed this morning with Pierce Morgan, right? And his first question was, how excited are all of you, right? He could not believe that I genuinely might have had some concerns about last night. But that is the truth for any one of us that loves this country.
No one felt good about what they saw last night, right? My parents were immigrants to this country like so many others. We want the best for the United States, no matter who's in charge. And knowing that this is our commander in chief right now, that that was the performance that we saw. And not just us, like you said, not just you and me, people around the world, not just our allies who are now worried about us as well, but also our adversaries.
knowing that Russia and China, our enemies of the Middle East, are all watching this, seeing this as the display and the representation for this country is a really sad moment for all of us. All right.
Well, let's look towards Milwaukee. And, of course, there are a lot of other shoes to drop before we get there. A big one coming up on July the 11th, which is when President Trump will be sentenced. are are there plans in place in the event the president is you know confined to Mar-a-Lago or sent to prison is there a plan in place in case he cannot physically be a Milwaukee so we've been planning for absolutely anything you never know especially with American politics lately what will happen however we are pretty confident we will have an incredible convention in Milwaukee and that President Trump will be there to accept the nomination but we are truly prepared for anything and everything, and he is prepared to accept the nomination no matter where he is and to make sure that he becomes the president of the United States.
So we're prepared for literally anything, but very excited for a wonderful convention nonetheless. All right, Elizabeth Pipko joins us. She is the RNC spokesperson on our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line.
Now, Elizabeth, we have been getting a lot of calls from people who are delegates. They say there have been some rumblings, that there may be some changes to language in the party platform, specifically related to the abortion issue and also the marriage issue. Can you speak to that? Are there talks to tweak any of the language in the platform?
So we actually cannot speak about the platform at this time. It will be released when we're ready, but I would assume that people would know that they should be nothing but excited about any changes that are made because the goal is only to make the party stronger and in turn obviously make the country stronger, right?
Well, yeah, but if the language has changed, for example, on, you know, maybe the definition of marriage, would, you know, the RNC be concerned about alienating evangelical Christian voters?
So I think for us, everything is obviously being considered. Like I said, I can't speak to the changes in the platform right now. There's a reason that they are revealed when they are, but I hope everyone realizes how much thought and how much effort, how much consideration is put into decisions like this, because our goal is not just to win in November, but to make sure we have a strong party and a strong country that can take on truly anything. That's what matters. Have a united United States and to make sure that everyone is on the same page So I hope everyone knows just how much thought and effort is put into all of these decisions and hopefully everyone will be very happy when that is revealed So just so I wanted to clarify here so in the event that there is some language tweet for example, maybe becoming more welcoming to gay couples or same-sex couples, that would only be done to make the party stronger and put the party in a better place to win elections?
well anything that we do is done to make the party stronger of course but i truly believe that everyone will be very happy when everything is revealed that's all that i can say but i hope people understand that these are not decisions that are taken lightly and that this isn't like i said unprecedented time in our country and every single decision like this one is taken incredibly seriously all right well elizabeth we will leave it there then uh we appreciate you coming on the program today thank you thank you thank you so much all right elizabeth Pipco, who is the RNC spokesperson. Did you hear that, ladies and gentlemen? Everything they do is to make the party stronger. Did you hear that? And I am telling you, pay attention, because it will not be the first time that the Republicans have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory there.
So just keep that in mind. We're going to stay on top of this story. It's a concerning issue. And again, we certainly want to welcome all into the party. But the problem is you've got to have some standards.
You have to have some bona fides. And if you don't have the bona fides, well, what's the point? All right, we're going to take a quick break. We're going to go right to the phone lines, 901-260-5926. It is open line Friday, so really whatever you would like to talk about, we're going to talk about.
Again, 901-260-5926. Well, I have to tell you about the 4th of July. It's coming up, and the Stearns family, well, we're cranking up the grill, going to do the burgers and the dogs. And one of the places where we get our meat, really it's the only place, Backyard Butchers. backyardbutchers.com they're literally delivering american-raised and harvested meat from their ranches to your backyard it's just phenomenal beef and chicken grown right here in the united states grass-fed and grain finished and the meat tastes absolutely amazing you know when you go to the grocery store even though it has that product of the usa sticker it only means that it was packaged here.
It wasn't raised here. And there's just something more delicious about meat that is grown right here in the good old U.S. of A.
So I want you to go check them out, backyardbutchers.com. That's backyardbutchers.com. Use my code Todd, and you're going to get an additional 10% off. And by the way, when you subscribe, they're going to give you another 10% off, and you're going to get free shipping.
So it's a pretty darn good deal, and the beef is incredible. Again, BackyardButchers.com slash Todd. That's BackyardButchers.com slash Todd. Use my name, Todd. You're going to get 20% off your entire order, an additional 10% off if you end up subscribing.
Got to take a break. We'll be right back. Put minutes into the debate and it continues right now. It involves party strategists. It It involves elected officials.
It involves fundraisers. And they're having conversations about the president's performance, which they think was dismal, which they think will hurt other people down the party in the ticket. And they're having conversations about what they should do about it.
Some of those conversations include should we go to the White House and ask the president to step aside. Others are other of the conversations are about should prominent Democrats go public with that call because they feel this debate was so terrible. They do say in moments in the debate later, the president got better and got his footing. All right, there you go. That's John King over at CNN last night.
Just again, the media somehow decided to wake up and realize that Biden is inept, rattled. He's feeble. By the way, the Supreme Court today, I want to give you an update on this, what happened here with the J6 charge.
So the Supreme Court sided with a J6 defendant.
So it's a huge victory. The question is how big of a victory, and will this impact the hundreds of other people that were charged with this? And what the individual was charged, it was an obstruction charge. And the question is whether or not they could actually use that. It's a very obscure charge for a crime such as this.
So the Supreme Court ruled that the prosecutors had overstepped in using the obstruction law to charge someone in the mob that stormed the Capitol. President Trump, by the way, facing charges of very similar charges.
So six to three ruling. We'll keep you updated on whether or not. And right now, we just don't know. It's a little too soon to say whether this will impact hundreds of other cases. All right.
Let's go to the phone lines. 901-260-5926 let's say hello to uh ron in georgia wdun hi ron what's going on good afternoon sir how you doing i'm good thank you i am i watched that debate last night and i got concerned that there's some prosecutors trying to put a jury together they're going to try to charge trump with elder abuse when it should be the guys at CNN, because this should have never took place. Joe Biden was not ready for this, and he never will be ready for this. He's way past where he should be. As a matter of fact, Ron, to that point, Dylan, let's play that little snippet from just a few moments ago out of Raleigh.
Donald Trump says he thinks overturning Roe v. Wade was a beautiful thing. what what did he say well like i got a meme the other day that said let's get ready to mumble let's get ready to mumble there's there's lots of humor in this but the sad part is like it's been said several times already our enemies are looking at this and they're going wow we are ripe for the picking and that's a sad thing for our country yeah you're right about that right about that ron the media has done such an amazing job of vilifying donald trump i am i'm originally from palm beach county the seventh borough of new york city and uh that's down in florida and i know new yorkers and i know how new yorkers operate and trump is a new yorker the sad part is he's also a really decent man and cares about people and he cares about our country. I believe he does. And I saw a man who was righteously indignant at times last night, and it's just so, so awful what he's been put through.
And Trump said something last night, and it's true. Had he not been running for re-election, he would never have been charged with any crimes, and he would be enjoying his life at Mar-a-Lago or one of his golf clubs.
So you're absolutely right, Ron. Hey, appreciate that call, sir. Let's go to Iowa. David, listening to us on KXEL. Hi, David.
Thanks for calling in today. Yeah, Todd. How are you doing? I'm doing well, David. What's on your mind?
Welcome to Iowa.
So we wanted to let you know I'm calling from your namesake town just north of Cedar Rapids, Toddville, Iowa. There's a Toddville, Iowa? Really? There is a Toddville, Iowa, and I figured you'd need to know that out of anybody, because it's a special place, kind of small, but it's all Iowa. I love it.
Well, thanks for letting me know. Yeah, go ahead.
What's on your mind? All right.
So I think, like many instances throughout the past years, we've been played. I feel that all of this has been in the works. You know, you have Obama holding the marionette strings, and, you know, it just, all of a sudden the media seems to recognize how incompetent this man is. Come on. You know, so I still, every time we talk about conspiracy theories, they end up being truth.
And I just would not be surprised, despite all of the denial from Michelle Obama, that they just don't drop her in as a last-minute surprise, which I think could be enormously disruptive to our chances of success in November. Yeah, look, I think there's a lot of truth to what you're saying, and I think it's all very plausible. Go back and keep in mind that this was all part of a strategy. They wanted to have an early debate. Biden and the team wanted to set all the ground rules.
And Trump knew what he was walking into. He knew that he was walking into what could have been a trap. And, of course, it turns out not only was it not a trap, it turns out that it completely backfired. But, again, I'm not sure it backfired. I think this was all part of some sort of a coordinated effort to take out Joe Biden.
And the media is complicit. And I say that because all of the talking points are the same. Absolutely. And thankfully, Trump responded beautifully, you know, because that could have been, you know, if he would have gone off the rails in any way. It would have been over.
Yeah, it would have.
So Trump did a great job. David, I hate to do this. Computer's going to cut us off here. 901-260-5926 Open line Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Lines now open.
901-260-5926 Broadcasting from Waterloo, Iowa on radio station KXEL.
Alright, so here's the deal. I'm in Iowa for a couple of days, and if you're listening to us on KXEL, I do need some ideas of what should I go and see. I love to do the sightseeing. I've been told that the John Deere Tractor Museum is here, which is supposed to be pretty awesome. And the last time I was in Cedar Rapids was, I think, in 08 when the great flood hit.
And I was literally, as I was a reporter at Fox News, and they flew me down, and I was literally working one of the rescue boats. and I got to help rescue a couple of people down in the Czech village, which I understand is pretty nice, too.
So if you have some ideas of what I should be doing while I'm here in Iowa, give me a call, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. Oh, by the way, Jeff Stein, and if Jeff Stein is, I know Jeff Stein is listening, but maybe he can swing back into the studio and we'll have to say hello.
So it turns out that there really is a Toddville, Iowa. And, Dylan, this is fascinating. It has a population of 57 people. Oh, my. That's awesome.
Are they all named Todd? It's pretty cool. What? Are they all named Todd? I think they have to be.
Yeah, I would think so. Yeah. So, yeah. Oh, I'm sorry. No, it doesn't.
That was a population of 57 in 1902. But now it's like a raging metropolitan area, over 1,000 people. That's a lot of Todd's. Yeah. 550 men and 543 women.
So that kind of measures out there. I mean, you know, basically. Oh, they also have an American Legion post. That's post 674. And what I find interesting here is they also have something called a grasshopper bridge.
i mean even grasshoppers you know they got to get from here to there so you have to go visit before you come back i'll do that someone also said i need to go there's a sign on the interstate that says brandon and someone said i need to hold i need to have my picture made in front of that sign with another sign saying let's go clever all right let's get to the phone line speaking of what's going somewhere uh let's say hello to the lovely miss carlotta from rhode island hello miss carlotta hi todd if we all live long enough those todd will be taking over who knows what but anyway at any rate this is how pulses work you're familiar with the uh work of frank lunds right oh yeah frank lunds yes yes yes okay he hates from so much that he attributes his stroke to the fact that Trump was president at the time he became ill.
So now this is what he did. Last night, at one intermission, he took a poll, and the results were that Trump won. At the next intermission, he took a poll, and the results were that Biden lost.
Now, that was not conclusive enough for him.
So the next poll he took was, Trump did not win. Biden lost.
So that's how it's going to be interpreted now. Trump did not win the debate. This is how we're supposed to believe everything that comes out of a pollster's mouth. They will poll until they get the results they want. It's super sleazy, isn't it, Carlotta?
And we saw that kind of develop in real time when they're like, oh, yeah, Biden's terrible, Biden's comatose. and they're like, well, Trump was just as bad. And, of course, everybody agrees with that.
Well, the people watching did not agree with it. They're pretty clear on who they thought won. Exactly. But if they're asked long enough, they will say the same thing. But the way in which the data is interpreted will change until they present it the way they hope that we will believe it, which, of course, we don't, hopefully.
Fair enough. All right, Ms. Carlotta, good hearing from you, and thanks for weighing in today. 901-260-5926, Open Line Friday. And to our friends in Iowa, that means you can call in on this one day.
We go heavy on phone calls, and you can talk about whatever you want to talk about. That's why we call it Open Line Friday. Let's go to Richard listening to us on WTJS in Jackson, Tennessee. Hi, Richard. What's on your mind?
Well, with the conversation we were having about the J-6 ruling today from the Supreme Court, there was another ruling that was brought today that I think is far more reaching than that one even, and that's that Loper case that had to do with Chevron deference. The Supreme Court today, in a 6-3 ruling, dissolved Chevron deference, and that is a case back from 1983, which basically gave the administration and its three-letter agencies the power to make law. And it came from a time when Chevron had done some bad stuff, and the EPA came in and made up a bunch of rules and stuff that were not, in fact, legislation passed by the Congress. And we have three divisions of power within our government, the administrative branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial. And what Chevron Deference did is it took away from the legislature and the judicial branch to do its jobs.
And so what they did today is they overturned Chevron.
So now what it says is that you can't just make up stuff out of whole cloth because you're the ATF or you're the EPA or you're the DOJ, that what you have to do is follow the actual rules that are confined within legislation that is passed because only the legislature can make laws. This is a great big deal. And, Richard, who is the one body that gets to make the laws in the United States of America? That is Congress. Yes, sir.
That's right. And that's basically, in a nutshell, what the Supreme Court came back today and ruled.
So you're right. Richard, there is so much news happening today, and we're going to jump into more of that. We'll do a deeper dive into that on next week's program. I can promise you that. Very good.
All right, Richard, thank you for that, and thanks for the great lesson. And, folks, again, this is one of the reasons why I say we have the smartest audience in all of talk radio, people like Richard there, WTJS. Let's go back to Iowa, KXEL. Carol is on the line. Hi, Carol, how are you today?
Hi. Oh, I am doing fine. I just want to make a comment. The lady that called regarding the platform for the Republican Party, I have a friend that's an alternate delegate to the convention. And I'm just thinking, I thought maybe your hesitation, you could tell, too, that there's going to be some changes on that platform.
Yes, and the person, Carol, that you heard happened to be the spokesperson for the RNC. and I thought it was very troubling some of her reaction to the questions that I posed, and it certainly does seem like they're going to be making some changes. Yes, and I'll call my friend to make sure she's an alternate, so I don't know what her chance is of becoming an actual delegate or not, but she's really excited about going. I've been involved with our local central committee for years, and I was just telling you to call her screener that I remember years and years ago when I was pregnant, I remember walking out of a county convention because I was eight months pregnant with my youngest, and they didn't put anything against abortion in their platform. But that's out of the point.
But this is very interesting. Welcome to Waterloo. Yes. Carol, thank you. You guys have been so nice.
Very kind people around here in Waterloo. And you might want to tell, the John Deere Museum is very interesting, and the Grout Museum, you know, with the Five Sullivan Brothers, down at the convention center, there's a walkway there and all that. That would be kind of cool. I don't know how long you're going to be here. And what is it called again?
What museum? The Grout? Grout, G-R-O-U-T. All right.
Well, I'm going to have to write this down, Carol. All right, that's good to know. Which is where we're broadcasting from today, the beautiful studios of KXEL. Are you down on Commercial Street then? I think I don't know where I'm at here.
All I know is I'm across from the arena where President Trump came. When he came to Waterloo, I'm directly across the street.
Okay, so the walkway for the Sullivan Brothers is right on the west side, south side of that building.
So it's really, you know, it's nice. I'm getting a list.
Okay. Carol, thank you so much, and I hope maybe you have time to drop by tomorrow. And, again, folks, just kind of come and go as you please tomorrow, noon to 3, at the National Cattle Congress Pavilion. You can get a free ticket by simply going to kxel.com slash IowaFest, or you can just show up. But they would like to get a pretty good fair number of the headcount.
And I think dozens of people have been calling in during the program saying they're going to be coming. And, of course, I'll be signing copies of my new book, Twilight's Last Gleaming, at the event. All right, Carol, thank you for calling. Let's go to Mike in Maine, WLOB. Hi, Mike.
What's on your mind today? Because you ain't lost out there in Iowa, are you? Mike, it's flat. There are no hills here, and there's no humidity. I don't understand that.
I can actually breathe. Yeah, well, coming from Memphis to there, I can imagine you would. Look, now, after watching this last night, I was a retired Marine, and I contracted with DOD for years. I've got to ask myself, where the hell is the Joint Chiefs at? They haven't gone to the Bush president yet?
to let her know that this man is not in command fitness to perform his duties as commander-in-chief. Look, you can't let this happen. I want you to imagine if you were a young service person out there last night that was watching this, babe, and you know this man has your life in his hands. You see what I'm saying? I can't tell you.
Yes. It is incredibly dangerous what they're doing, and they're literally putting the country in grave danger every minute this guy is allowed to remain in the Oval Office. And you're right. Where is the cabinet? I mean, everybody sees this.
The entire country got to see it last night.
So where are, and to your point, where are the Joint Chiefs of Staff? Where are members of the president's cabinet? it and why aren't they stepping in and saying we've got a problem here my it's a fair question and i i don't have a good answer right now for you other than this man is being controlled more than likely by barack hussein obama and hillary clinton in the wings so mike appreciate the call let's go to mike in memphis tennessee listening to us on kwam hi mike what's going on Greetings, Todd. Two quick points I want to point out that I've heard on your very show, and this is going to show how the rhinos are literally in lockstep, I believe, against Trump and against we the people. Number one, based on what that Republican strategist said earlier to you, not willing to reveal they're going to change the party platform.
If the rhinos have their way with meddling with the party platform, they'll once again demonstrate not only their ignorance, but like the Democrats. if they've historically used the black community to support an anti-family agenda, the Republican Party will remove those rock-solid moral conservative planks that have been created by the religious more majority, which includes everyone. And this morning on your very morning show today, the guest who claimed to be a Republican strategist said that Trump was wrong on his passage of the First Step Act, claiming it released criminals back to the streets, implying that Trump was weak on crime, and that the party would have to effectively, quote, bring Trump back into their line and have him see their way of thinking. I guarantee you, I bet the Republican strategist has never, number one, read the First Step Act, has no idea who it applies to, what they have to do to qualify, and what limited restrictions or reductions in their sentence they can actually earn if they jump through a thousand hoops. knows about his family, who's one of his family members was railroaded and suffered the abuses of the federal prison, which spurred Trump into promoting it because the system has been hijacked, and that's what everybody's come to know.
It doesn't matter if you're Republican or Democrat. If you support Trump and he gets somebody like the Vikramaswamy, they will clean that house. And they have to. They have to. And that's why we have to stay focused, cannot let the RINOs sabotage.
And that's the concern I have, Mike, is that the RINOs might use the party platform as a way to sabotage and dampen the enthusiasm surrounding President Trump.
So, look, leave the party platform alone. It doesn't need any tweaking. It's just fine as it is. but there are forces at work that believe that we need to redefine the definition of marriage to make it in line with what the supreme court ruled as opposed to what almighty god ruled and if that happens i just it's it's going to cause some problems uh mike gotta run my friend thank you for that 901-260-5926 that's 901-260-5926 we'll be right back all right folks don't forget newsmaxplus.com that's newsmaxplus.com go and download it you can start a free trial today right now and you'll be able to watch all of newsmax's shows on your smartphone you'll also be able to watch the todd starton show which by the way happens at five o'clock eastern tonight and of course we'll be broadcasting from beautiful iowa well i want to bring into the conversation a good friend of this program his name is jeff stein you hear him filling in from time to time he is the program director at kxel and jeff thanks for uh wow what a great welcome rolling out the red carpet well we are so happy to have you here and you can tell from the kxel listeners who have called in they love they love them some todd starns wow and and broadcasting the show live today we're really appreciative of that it's nice to hear so many iowa folks calling in Well, as I said, they've been very interested to know when you were coming, and we've got a lot of people signed up who will show up. And again, anybody who comes to the National Cattle Congress tomorrow noon to 3, we'll feed them and they'll hear from you.
And there's going to be some politicking, too. Is that right? We have the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of State. We have folks who are going to talk about carbon capture pipelines, but most of all, it's Todd Starnes. Hey, I'm all about that.
And food, free food, and you can't pass that up.
Well, and what I love is that you have already adopted the Iowa mentality. You told the audience last night you had a breaded pork tenderloin. And when I said, what do you want for lunch? You said, go to a different place and get me another one of those tenderloins, and you're going to compare. I just wanted to make sure I enjoyed it.
I just want to double check. You can ask Iowans or North Carolina folks. You enjoy good pork. Nice, breaded, deep fried. You can't mess that up.
By the way, I know our time is short here, but I want to bring in Stephen, who's listening to us on KXEL. And Stephen, I understand you had some recommendations from tourist spots. What do I need to visit while I'm here? Oh, you can't miss the University of Northern Iowa. It's close to where you are and complete with an indoor football stadium and a lot of great things to see there.
Wow. Well, I've heard about this. You know, Jeff Stein gave me the tour, and I drove by the beautiful arena there, and I heard that you guys – I mean, it's just a beautiful town out here. I will say there are no hills. I don't know what that's all about.
I don't see many hills, Jeff Stein. We have not taken you far enough northeast.
Okay. All right.
Well, there you go. Stephen, I hate to do this because we are literally a slap up against the clock here, but I hope you can come out tomorrow. We're going to be doing Q&A after my remarks, and you can weigh in on CNN and the debate. We're just going to have a lot of fun tomorrow. And, Jeff, this is what is called Iowa Fest.
It is. First time we've called it that, and we're so pleased that you're here. It means a lot. I'm excited.
Well, thank you again, folks. It's been a lot of fun. Guess what? Coming up in August, first week in August, we're heading to Salem, Oregon.
So you folks over in KYKN country, get ready. I'm coming to town. It's going to be a lot of fun. All right, folks, get out there. Have a great Friday.
Be sure to check out ToddStarnes.com. And whatever you do, be sure to go to church this weekend. Be good, America.
