Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. It's America's conservative blowtorch. That's right. I love this American ride. Todd Starns.
Oh, yeah.
Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the Tom Starns Radio Show. We are. Waiting. That's where we are right now, ladies and gentlemen.
We are waiting for the jury to render its verdict in the trial of President Trump. Hope you guys are doing great. We've got a lot of ground to cover during the program today, and we are going to be taking your calls as well. Do you think Trump is going to get a fair shake?
Well, I have some disappointing news for you. I don't think that's going to happen. As a matter of fact, wow, just a little while ago. Fox News Putting out a report. about the judge in the case, Judge Juan Murchan.
And Mershan is out there now saying that the jury does not have to reach a unanimous. Verdict. This is insane. Judge Mershan just told jurors they do not have to unanimously agree on what crime Trump is guilty of. In other words, they just want Trump guilty.
There doesn't even need to be a crime committed. You can just go into that room and you can say, anybody here just really hate Trump? Everybody raises their hands. Guilty is charged. Boom.
Off to prison. This is bonkers crazy, ladies and gentlemen. Just absolutely bonkers crazy. Trump is not getting a fair trial here. And as the President said earlier today, Mother Teresa couldn't even beat the charges.
The whole case is rigged. And honestly, that judge ought to be dragged off of that bench in handcuffs and thrown into jail for what he's doing here. This is the behavior of somebody who lives and resides in some sort of a banana republic, a third world hellhole. But certainly not the United States of America, where Lady Justice was supposedly blind. Clearly this is not the case.
901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-099. two six zero five nine two six. We're going to be taking your cause on this today. I want to play some audio from just a few moments ago.
This is that Fox report I was telling you about, where Judge Bershan has now instructed, and this is the breaking news. This is just happening in the past 15 minutes, that the judge. Is now saying that the jury does not have to have a unanimous verdict in order to convict Donald Trump. If that's the case, it's over. It's over, ladies and gentlemen.
Donald Trump goes to prison. Cut number twenty-six.
Well, let me ask you about the three choices and one thing in particular that this judge said that these jurors could do. He just delivered what is being called really the pinnacle of all of this. He said that there is no need to agree on what has occurred. They can disagree on what the crime was among the three choices. Thus, this means that they could split four, four, four, and the judge would still treat them unanimously.
What does that mean?
Well, it's really outrageous because in a normal criminal case Every statutory crime has what we call elements of the offense. Like in a bank robbery case, it's you know, you have to rob, it's got to be a financial institution, you have to show intent. Those are the things the jury has to agree on unanimously that were that they were proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Here, what we're doing is taking the element that actually makes this a felony. Because remember, falsification of records is normally a misdemeanor in New York.
What makes it a felony is that you're concealing or committing another crime. And here, the judge is telling them they don't have to agree about what the other crime is under circumstances where that not only is what makes this a felony, what makes it a four-year potential prison penalty rather than a year or less, but it's also what gets us into the courtroom. Because if this had been a misdemeanor, the time to bring this case would have lapsed in 2019.
So, the only reason they're still able to bring This case is because it's a felony, allegedly, and yet now the judge is saying, you know, you don't have to agree on what the felony is. Does this make any sense to you at all, ladies and gentlemen? Or are you understanding now? what this is really all about. This This is about sending Donald Trump to prison.
This is the only way the Democrats can ensure. that Joe Biden gets elected in the fall. is to send Donald Trump away. And there's been a lot of talk and a lot of scuttlebutt over exactly how this would play out if Donald Trump goes to prison. And based on what the judge just announced to the jury, This is over.
Unless there is some sort of a miracle afoot here. Unless there are people on the jury. who may be liberal But at least they're thinkers. And maybe, just maybe, they can see through here. over what's really going on.
But this is nuts. Here's President Trump just a few moments ago talking about Mother Teresa. Thank you very much. I would say, in listening to the charges from the judge, who's, as you know, very conflicted. and corrupt because of the confliction, very, very corrupt.
Mother Teresa could not beat these charges. These charges are rigged. The whole thing is rigged. The whole country's a mess between the borders and fake elections and You have a trial like this? Where the judge is so conflicted he can't breathe.
He's got to do his job. And it's not for me that I can tell you. It's a disgrace. And I mean that Mother Teresa could not be discharged. But we'll see.
We'll see how we do. Is it just me, or does the President sound dejected? And I guess anybody would, if you're sitting in the courtroom, and again, we had had pretty high hopes. When it takes over four hours in your closing argument, when it takes over four hours to make your point, that means you don't have a point to make. And that's exactly what happened last night with the prosecution.
This case was supposed to have gone to the jury yesterday afternoon, but Fat Alvin Bragg and his team, it took them over four hours to explain their case to the jury. When that happens, uh uh it's over. And so now the judge comes back the next day and says, oh, well, you know what? We don't even know what crimes the guy committed, but you can make it up. You can figure it out for yourself.
And even if it's not unanimous, we're going to treat that as unanimous. The fix is in here. And maybe that's why maybe it was just me, but I heard a very dejected Donald Trump Just a few moments ago. thirty four felony criminal charges. And by the way, the reason why they're felonies is because uh they're actually misdemeanors, but the misdemeanors the statute of limitations already ran out.
President Trump could face over a hundred years in prison. If found guilty on all thirty-four counts, and all it takes is one. for the President to go to prison.
Now, there is some speculation that the president might be sent to home confinement. In other words, he would only be allowed to live at Mar-a-Lago or his apartment in New York City. The judge would have to make that determination, and the president would not be able to leave.
So, the president would not be able to go out on the campaign trail. The president would not be allowed to hold any of these rallies. The president would be a prisoner of the state of New York. And the question is: would the judge allow him to serve time in Mar-a-Lago? I don't think so.
I mean, it would have to be somewhere in New York State. But again, at this point we're we're in uncharted waters. But I'm curious here, ladies and gentlemen, do you think President Trump's getting a fair shake here? nine zero one two six zero five nine two six is our telephone number that's nine oh one two six zero five nine two six.
Now I'm holding out hope And again, the hope was that at least one person we just needed one person on the jury. To say, you know what, this is a load of crap. But I'm not sure that matters anymore now. based on the instructions that the judge gave the jury. But you never know.
Fortunately we serve a God who works miracles. Yeah. And what we are watching unfold in New York City is is not justice. This is payback. This is Joe Biden and the Justice Department.
Through Alvin Bragg, Fat Alvin Bragg. trying to destroy a political opponent. That's what's going on here. All right, we got to take a break. 901-260-5926.

The judge will give them until 4:30 today, and then after that, I think they'll come back tomorrow. But I think 4:30 is the end of the workday for the jury there.
All right, let's go to the phone lines here: 901-260-5926. Questions or comments we are taking today as we wait for the jury, Susie in Georgia, WDUN. Hi, Susie. What's on your mind? Hey, Todd, my heart is breaking.
But It just hurts me so much, Todd, what they're doing to my president. But I won't know, can he appeal this? Oh, yes, he can appeal. As a matter of fact, there was some talk yesterday, Susie, of asking the Supreme Court for an emergency appeal.
So, as soon as the verdict is rendered, that it just goes directly to the Supreme Court. We'll see how that plays out, but there will be an appeal. And the question is: will the judge allow Trump? To stay out on bail if he is through the appeals process.
So it's all up to the judge, really, at that point. Right. And Tyler, I got another question. What is God teaching Trump and what is God teaching us?
Well, that's a great question. I think that's a question that everybody has to answer for themselves. But but Susie, right now, I I think um My my frustration in all of this Is that the judge is being so in your face? They know they know what they're doing, and they don't care. They don't care.
And we can only hope and pray that justice is meted out with people like Judge Mershan and Fat Alvin Bragg.
Well They will meet their justice one day, Todd. I may not sit on this earth, but they will meet their justice, and you know that. Oh, they will be called to okay. Yes, you are absolutely right, Susie. Yes, and all these all these evil Democrats and what they're doing, God will give them that justice, Dodd.
Mm. Yes, you better believe it, Susie, and I do believe that. We need a little bit of Old Testament. Wrath, hellfire, and brimstone. Susie, appreciate that call.
Let's go to Connor in Massachusetts. Connor. What's going on? You know, what do you think? Previous caller, when she was talking about judgment, you know, sometimes I think about some of these people that do these wicked things, and it would just be like.
Honestly, look very interesting. Slap a GoPro on them for when they face their maker, see the look on their face when they get put down spares for what they're doing to to President Trump and a lot of his followers, you know, it's just it's It's insane. Um I think watching right now what's going on with this court, obviously we know we have a very good idea of what's going to happen with this carry. is the Kangaroo Court Cracker Jack Judge. And when is it going to come to the point when We start listening to like the real criminals, like Hunter Biden.
And all the Biden family, the Biden crime family here for what they've done. I mean, you're talking about some serious crimes just on Hunter Biden alone. And you have the nerve of Bill Biden to still run for president facing all of You know, everything he's done. And it reminds me of something that one Democrat said. I think we all know who it is, but continue.
Considering Joe Biden's children and his family, if you can't run your house, how are you expected to run the White House? And right now, I don't think he's obviously based on the proof of what we've seen, he can't run the race off. And Beastelle should have known from the beginning of the way his family is for the type of person Joe Biden is. Yeah, you know, it's interesting, Connor, that you mentioned Hunter Biden, who, by the way, stands trial beginning June 3rd. And of course, President Biden rather made a surprise nighttime visit to the home of Hallie Biden just before she's supposed to be a witness.
At uh Hunter's federal government. Gun crimes trial. And you might remember that Hallie dated Hunter at the time of the alleged gun crimes. That right there is that's that is witness tampering. Right there.
That's what that is. But it's. It's good old Uncle Joe, so there's nothing to see here, folks, so move along. But, Todd, real quick, I just have to say. Um I I am reading your book right now.
I I That's good. I'm Yeah. Um I cannot wait to uh to get to the to the end of it, but it's been great so far and It is uh the book of the summer.
Well, you're kind to say that, Connor. You have to call me back when you get to the final chapter, and I would love to get your take on my version of the rapture day, of rapture day in America. I think you'll get a good chuckle. Connor, appreciate the call, and thank you for the kind words about the book. Twilight's Last Gleaming, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Can America Be Saved? It is available wherever you buy your books. But go to ToddSterns.com. I will sign, personally, autograph a copy of my book just for you at ToddSterns.com. All right, let's go to Collierville, Tennessee.
Howard is on the line. Hi, Howard. What's on your mind today? Hey, Todd, I am doing fantastic. I hope you're going as well.
My question is Is Y has no Higher court. Stock what's going on in this kangaroo court in New York.
Well, that's a good question. And that really depends on state law. I don't believe that courts can intervene in another court's procedures until that trial is finished. I mean, at some point, President Trump and his attorneys, you know, once, let's just say that Trump is found guilty, they're going to come right out and say, We're appealing this to the court, to the appellate court.
So, that process will start. But I hear what you're saying, and I'm not sure that there's any precedent for something like that happening. We'll look into it. I was thinking back in Clinton days That one court stepped in and stopped a lower court doing something to Bill Clinton. And we were all upset about it.
Brush was on the air at the time. And we were all upset that another court had done something to stop that. Without anybody making an appeal to it. This may have been, and again, we'll have to do some research on this, Howard. But if memory serves me correct, that may have been something to do with Clinton's bodyguards and lawyers and whether or not they had to testify.
So we'll check into that for you. It's a great question, Howard, and we're going to look into it for you. Thank you, Cod. God bless. All right.
God bless you. Howard, in Collierville, Tennessee, one of the prettiest downtowns in the South. If you're in Collierville, go check it out. Great place to visit and a great, great A great community, good conservatives. 901-260-5926.
We're opening up the phone lines. I know this is frustrating and aggravating.
So many. Great patriots around the country. But there will be payback. Based on what they've done to Donald Trump today, and shame on this judge. Shame on this judge.
All right, got to take a break. 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. That's promo code STARNS. Mm-hmm. All right, good to have you back with us. I don't know what I was just doing. I was just daydreaming here, thinking about.
Frolicking in the daisies. Hello, everybody. Jeez a lou. You know what it is? It's the Monday.
It's the short work week. And I'm just discombobulated. Hey, Marco Rubio. Had this to say. I was going to give him the Trump nickname, but I'm going to be nice today.
Rubio says. That and here's his take on what Judge Mershean did just a little while ago at the top of the hour. The judge in the Trump case in New York City just told the jury they don't have to unanimously agree on what crime was committed as long as they all at least pick one. And that among the crimes that they can pick are from once Trump wasn't even. charged with In other words, they're all behind closed doors now, all right?
And they're all sitting around. Yo, yo, you skies. When are we gonna get some lunch? I want some pastrami on rye. Give me a bagel with a smeare.
And they're all sitting around and they're trying to debate. Will I don't see any crime committed here? You know what? How about this? How many people believe that Trump Donald Dum, he littered.
How many of you believe that he may have littered? And everybody raises their hand. Oh, yes, he limited. He lived. I saw it down in the Bronx.
He limited. And they're going back and forth, and then somebody says, Well, I don't think he lived. Stifle, you stifle. And they all of a sudden agree that.
Okay, yeah, Trump is a felony litterer.
Okay. Trump Leonard. And they'll come back and send him to jail a hundred and thirty years.
So that's what Rubio is saying. Rubio goes on to say this is exactly the kind of sham trial used against political opponents of the regime of the old Soviet Union, and he's absolutely right here, folks. All right, let's go to the phone lines. A lot of you wanting to talk today. 901-260-5926.
Let's go to Paula in North Carolina, WTKF, our great affiliate out there. Hi, Paula. What's going on? Hey, I'm glad to be on your show. I've got a question.
At what point? I I'm prompt a hundred percent. I think he's the only one that's going to be able to save us. But if these Democrats get their way and he's in jail. I mean, what are our options at this point?
Do us as Republicans need to be thinking that far ahead? I mean, what if they get their way? I mean, where do we go from there? Paula, it's a great question, and there's going to be a lot of debate over this. And you're going to have people that are saying, well, we should march in the streets.
We should surround. We should block all the roads leading to Rikers prison. We should shut down the major cities. We should have some sort of a work stoppage. We should boycott.
Others are saying, and I suspect this will be the rally cry from the establishment of Republicans, is that we should do absolutely nothing. And we'll open this up to the callers, Paula. But I'm curious: you know, what do you think we ought to do, folks? Paula, what do you think we ought to do?
Well, we need to have something lined up in case they do get their way. I mean, they are. They are doing everything they can to manipulate all the rules and all the laws to make it in their favor.
So. I mean, it is starting to be concerning, very concerning to me. You know, who will I vote for if Trump is not on the of course it won't be Biden, but Who will they put up for us? If if Obama can pull the strings for Obama I mean Biden behind the scenes. Why can't Trump do the same thing with a Republican nominee?
I mean, now Paula, this is an interesting question you raise. And by the way, well, I'll get to Nikki Haley in just a moment. Paula, you raise a very interesting question.
So Trump is going to be on the ballot. The question is. Will he be the nominee? And again, if Trump is found guilty, the judge sends him away. He's either in prison or he's confined to his home.
If that happens, he will not be able to go to the RNC convention. That will not stop people. That will not stop the Republican delegates from nominating him. But it could open up the path for someone like a Nikki Haley or somebody else to step in and say, hey, look, our guy is locked down. He won't be able to campaign.
We need somebody out on the campaign trail.
So there could be some shenanigans in the works there.
Well, I'm sure somebody in the Republican Party and all the background has thought of this before I did. But I mean, it it's getting to the point to where they're manipulating the laws to the point to where they they just may get their way. And that scares me.
Well, you're right to be concerned, Paula. You're absolutely right to be concerned. I appreciate that call, and thank you for listening. And Paula's got a great point here is that, okay, well, Is Trump going to be a viable candidate if he's convicted? I would say my argument would be he becomes a megastar candidate.
But they're going to make it's folks, I just I've got to prepare you for this. It's going to get very ugly and it they will be very nasty, and the media will be unhinged on this. But this is what they want to do. And I suspect that's one of the reasons why Donald Trump sounds so dejected right now. I.
My heart My heart breaks for this man. What they have put him through. And he dared to step out there and dismantle the deep state. And that's really why this is not even so much about beating Hillary Clinton back in twenty sixteen as it is destroying the deep state as we know it. He has really, really Touched some areas of D C.
that have gone untouchable for generations. And there's always going to be payback for that. Let's go to Charles in North Carolina, WSIC. Hey, Charles, what's on your mind today? Hey, Todd.
Well, first off, let me just say it was a pleasure meeting you last week, and I'm enjoying your book as well. Um But I detected in Donald Trump's voice today dejection. And I feel the same way. I feel angry. I have never in my life seen a trial conducted this way where somebody You can't even identify the crime.
You have the judge. Colluding with the prosecution. Just throwing away all any semblance of jurisprudence. And this is not a trial, this was meant to be a conviction. It's just they're just it's just posing as a legal trial.
But Kyle, let me ask you this. Let's say that there's one juror there. And that says, you know what? I don't think he's guilty of a crime, not any crime at all, and I'm going to vote to acquit. Does that mean that it's a hung jury?
Or it look if the other eleven vote for something? Uh is he is he guilty? What happened?
So, this is a good question, Charles, and there's a lot of conjecture over what that means.
So, the jury. could decide on all every count has to be decided by itself. And we're talking about thirty four counts here.
So it could mean that we could get a hung jury. But again, the judge came back and said you don't it doesn't have to be unanimous.
So, if that's the case, then Trump's going to they're going to find him guilty. I mean, that's a reality of it.
Well, I'll tell you what. The Democrats have crossed the Rubicon here, Todd. It's just. And I don't see us going back, but one day I do hope there is payback. But I'll tell you what I think needs to happen.
And I guess I'm saying this out of anger and frustration. But uh I think they need to get Donald Trump out of New York City right now. I think he needs to get on Trump Force One, go to Mar-a-Lago, go someplace. And don't let him take them. And I think he's got millions of people that would be willing to protect him from any.
supposedly law enforcement that wants to come and arrest him. But we can't let this happen. We cannot allow him to go to jail. Uh if they throw him in jail, uh I don't know if they'll ever let him out. I don't they'll I think they will be willing to stoop to anything in any measure.
To keep Donald Trump from becoming president again. I will say this, Charles. I don't believe that Trump is safe in a New York City jail. I I really don't. I think far too many high profile Um People that have been jailed have ended up have ended up suiciding themselves.
And I have grave concerns that Trump, and I like your idea. Is during the lunch break, head over to the airport, get on Trump Force One, go back to Mar-a-Lago. And, you know, Ron DeSantis, Governor DeSantis, could become the rock star here by refusing to. to let New York officials in to get Trump. Yeah, exactly.
New York officials come to try to arrest President Trump. You got the state. state law enforcement to say you know You're going to come through us to get Donald Trump. Extra extradition. That's it.
We've got to fight fire with fire here. These are uncharted waters, and we just can't. We're just going to hope and pray for the best and let the wheels of justice play out because this is not the wheels of justice. This is the. This is the face of injustice, and this is the face of political persecution, and it cannot be allowed to happen in the United States of America.
Charles, great call and great thoughts. And it was great to see all of our friends in Statesville. You guys are just awesome there, and the incredible team at WSIC, some of the finest folks on radio. Shannon Bream, writing this. Judge Mershan reminds the jurors that if there is a guilty verdict, he alone determines the sentence.
Mark Levin blasting what he called the Stalinist clown judge. And Levin says that the jury has been told they can choose among three areas of crimes: violations of federal election law. And by the way, nobody in the courtroom, as Levin points out, is actually familiar with federal election law. The falsification of business records and tax violations. The judge goes on to say that the idea that jurors can pick one of the three and they don't have to unanimously agree is a shocking development.
And at some point My question is: How can we punish this judge? How can the judge be punished? For what he has done here. This is not a trial. This is not justice.
But I like Charles's thought here is that Trump needs to get out of New York City right now. What say you, ladies and gentlemen? Do you believe that the best shot Trump has is to get back to A-a-Lago so that he cannot be extradited back to New York City? 901-260-5926 is our number. That's 901-260-5926.
Now keep in mind, if they find Trump guilty, the judge has the authority on the spot to remand President Trump. In other words, Trump would be immediately taken into custody there in New York City. How would you react as a law enforcement officer? If you were told to do that, to take President Trump into custody. All right, let's go to Johnny in North Carolina, WSIC.
All right, Johnny, what's on your mind? Hey, Todd, thank you for taking my call. Um In all this craziness, I'm reminded of an old Western movie. I don't know which one it was, but Somebody said, Well, you can't just lynch the man. And the sheriff said, Oh, we're not going to lynch him, we're going to give him a fair trial, followed by a first class hanging.
Red. Seems like where we're at today, but I'm nobody special, but I am calling right now. This is the biggest circle of influence I'll ever have. I'm calling right now for everybody in this country, if you can do it safely. just stop what you're doing, and let's do a national day of prayer.
And specifically, what I'm suggesting is Romans eight twenty eight, Romans 8.28. And we know that in all things, God works to the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. And also Genesis fifty, twenty. Genesis 50, 20. And that is, you intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.
I'm calling everybody in the sound of your radio program right now to stop what they're doing. Let's do a national day of prayer. And by the way, I just a few minutes ago got a a text blast from Josh Hawley, who was calling for the same thing.
So thank you for taking my call. God bless America, and let's stop and pray for our President.
Well, God bless you for that, Johnny. And it's a good word. And yes, folks, we should all heed Johnny's call. And we're millions of people listening to this radio station around the nation right now. This is the moment, as Johnny said, to stop what you're doing and to pray.
Those of you in the lunch hour, take a moment before you eat your ham or bologna sandwich. And pray for President Trump and pray for God to intervene here. Look, we do serve a God who is a just God. And he will intervene. If we call on him to do that, and should he decide to intervene?
But I am telling you right now, folks, I have never seen so many stunned folks within my circles in the political community. That this judge and how he instructed the jury today is incredibly disturbing. And just in the back of your brain, think about this for a moment. If they can do this, To Donald Trump. You better believe they can do it to all the rest of us.
901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901. two six zero five nine two six Now President Trump as he is on trial. I will say this. He has been a huge fan of Newsmax.

All right, let's get right back to the phones here on a busy breaking news day, and we're taking your calls across the nation on President Trump, the jury, currently deliberating. And we'll decide the president's fate. Let's go to Mark from The Villages, America's friendliest hometown. Hey, Mark, what's on your mind today? Oh God, there's so many things on my mind today.
You know, the safety of this country hinges on these jurors who've been handpicked by the Democrats. I mean this is not good for this country, this country will come unhinged. He goes to prison. I mean, I'll still vote for him because nobody else can do what he can do. But I still vote for him no matter what.
And I've talked to many people. As a matter of fact, yesterday I talked to die-hard Democrats that said that they're going for Trump.
So the only way they can stop him is to put him into prison and it's just. I have to agree with some of your other callers. If I was him, I'd get out of that state and come to Florida. We'll protect them over here. Because this judge is a joke, man.
He's a complete joke. Yeah. I'm with you, Mark. You know, and I will say this: I know the volunteer state, Tennessee, we would provide safe harbor for President Trump as well. But I'm with you, and I think that Charles from North Carolina had a great thought.
We got to get him out of New York City right now. You mentioned punish the judge. Who's going to punish him? He's above the law and he's got Biden helping him. Right now, this country's fake.
And the safety of this country is being held in the hands of Democrats that have been picked by Biden, and they're on the jury now? Mark? Mark, I got to leave it there, my friend. We're running out of time. Hang tight, everybody.
We're getting to your calls. Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun totem, Bible-clinging, deplorable American. That's us!
That's right. I love this American. Todd Starns. Well, hello, everybody, and welcome to the Todd Starns Radio Program.
So happy to have you with us today. We have a lot of crazy breaking news to get through, and we're going to get you through it. Uh I will say this, uh folks. It's an absolute mess in New York City right now. And we had a caller in the last hour who suggested that the proper course of action for President Trump right now is to get the heck out of New York City and get back to a state that will not extradite him back to the Big Apple, whether that be Mar-a-Lago and Florida, Tennessee.
Georgia, I don't think so. I think Brian Kemp would not allow Trump Force One to actually land at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. But I think the President would at least be safe in Texas. in Florida and in the state of Tennessee.
So we're taking your calls today on this. 901-260-5926. Absolutely insane jury instructions that Judge Juan Mershan gave to the jury in Trump's hush money trial earlier today. I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Say hello to Congressman Bob Goode.
He is chairman of the House Freedom Caucus. Congressman, good to have you with us today. Great to be with you, Todd. Thanks for having me again. Oh, absolutely.
And guys, let's try to get that audio worked out there. Congressman, if you can hear us, I want to get your reaction to the news coming out of New York City, where it looks like the judge is telling the jury it really doesn't matter what crime you want to if there's not a crime, you can make one up.
Well, it's incredible, this mischaracterization of Judge Judge mischaracter of justice, obviously. I was in the courtroom myself a couple of weeks ago supporting the President, and I was impressed with how engaged this New York City jury was, and it gave me hope as I left there. While I know it's a crooked judge and a crooked Prosecutor and a crooked case, obviously. I was hopeful that there would be one or two or even more members of the jury in New York City that would want to do the right thing, would recognize there's no case here, would recognize that there's no evidence, would recognize that there's no crime, would recognize this as political persecution, and hopefully they would have a hung jury, if not an acquittal. We know the judge, to your point, has put this unconstitutional gag order on President Trump to prevent him from defending himself effectively.
The judge's own daughter making millions of dollars herself, fundraising tens of millions of dollars for the Democrat Party off this case. The star witness being the purger in chief, Mr. Cohn, obviously.
So there's no crime, there's no case, and it would obviously ultimately be overturned by appeal. But hopefully, there will not be a conviction in spite of this judge's best efforts to convict the President himself.
So, Congressman, before we get back to this, I think we have to talk about the big elephant in the room, and that is the fact that President Trump went out and endorsed your Republican opponent in the upcoming congressional race. Did you know that was coming? Did President Trump reach out? And, second question is: why?
Well, uh you know I I'm I'm I'm focused on my district. I've got the overwhelming support of my district after three and a half years. of serving my district and doing what I said I would do and fighting for the things I said I would fight for and being the kind of congressman I told him I would be when I first ran in twenty twenty. I will tell you, Todd, I received the most votes in the history of the Fifth District. No congressional candidates ever gotten 210,000 votes like I did in 2020.
Then I won with an even greater margin in 2022 after battling as a true conservative. And so I don't think the people in my district are waiting for an endorsement to see who they're going to support. We have the overwhelming grassroots advantage. We are ahead in the polls that have been done. We've got all the local officials are supporting us.
The grassroots GOP leaders are supporting us.
So we believe we will win significantly. Obviously, I'd like to have the support of everybody, including the former President. And while there was an indication that he was likely to endorse my opponent, we certainly hoped it wouldn't be the case because it obviously makes it a little bit tougher for us. But we expect to prevail on June 18, 20 days from today, because I've done what my district has wanted me to do, and I've been the true conservative fighter they've wanted to have in the district. And I believe that that will be demonstrated on June 18th.
And of course, all of this goes back to your endorsement at the time of Ron DeSantis. And President Trump, I think in January, had made reference to the fact that it was just too late now that you had thrown in with him. And he said the damage has been done. Regardless, you don't think that's going to have any impact in your reelection bid?
Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say it has no impact. Obviously, the President's very influential.
However, I think it has a greater impact when it's unknown quantities, when people don't know who to vote for. I think I'm pretty well known in my district. I think I'm very popular among Republicans in my district. I'm not entitled to the nomination. Todd, I've got to earn it every two years, and I believe that I will earn it again on June 18, 20 days from now.
But that said, the time for us is to come together and not be divided. We always need to be behind President Trump, trying to ensure his reelection. I'm going to do everything I can to help him win Virginia. I'm known as the conservative leader in Virginia. It's great to see, you know, if you've got Tim Scott on the VP list, you've got Ron DeSantis, even rumored to be on the VP list.
You've got Vivek Ramaswamy, who is rumored to be part of his cabinet. The time now is to come together to re-elect President Trump, to get a Senate majority, and to expand our House majority. I am most capable of helping all of those objectives, and certainly most capable of helping him win Virginia. And so I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I win on June 20. or june eighteen rather, and then I hope President Trump win on November fifth.
All right, real quick here, there is a story that's impacting the the state of Virginia, the Commonwealth. There's a a father was what, on family vacation down in the Turks in Caicos, and he had some ammo in one of his bags.
So what happened there?
Well, I was pleased to go a week and a half ago to Turks and Caicos to fight for his release, to advocate on his behalf. I met with the State Department officials, the U.S. State Department officials. I met with the governing individuals of Turks and Caicos, the islands. I met with the business.
And tourist community leaders, myself, along with five other members of our congressional delegation, because there was other uh Held from their respective states. And thankfully, he's going to be. He was sentencing allowed him time served yesterday. He's going to be coming home tomorrow. I look forward to meeting with him when he arrives.
I've been on the phone with him. I met with him at Turks and Caicos. Uh but what happened there is Turks and Caikos passed A law a few months ago outlawing any ammunition, any firearms in their country with a 12-year minimum sentence. The unintended consequence has been that someone like my constituent, Tyler Winrich, from Louisa County in my district, he had two straight bullets in his bag. In the lining, in the seam, hidden.
He would have never have found those. He emptied out his bag, of course, for travel. He went through TSA thinking had a clear bag. He gets into the country of Turks and Caicos, enjoys that mini vacation, celebrating a wedding with his friends, is leaving the island, and the scanners show off, show something that's in his bag. They have to scan it two or three times, trying to find where it is and what it is.
Two straight bullets, obviously, no criminal intent, no harm to anybody on the island. But he was facing possibly 12 years. Thankfully, with the help with myself advocating and the other members of our congressional delegation, we were able to get him to time serve. The two weeks that he was held in jail and prison there, total of about six weeks on the island, had to pay tens of thousands of dollars for bail for an attorney to live on the island while he was waiting for his release. But thankfully, a good successor story, and I was happy to go and fight for his release.
All right. Well, certainly a good ending there. Congressman, we're going to have to leave it there, and we appreciate all of your good work and certainly appreciate your leadership of the House Freedom Caucus. Good luck on Election Day. Thank you, Todd.
Great to be with you. All right, there you go. Congressman Bob Good. He's a good guy, folks. He endorsed DeSantis, and now he is suffering the consequences of that.
But again, he's been a pretty rock-solid conservative through his time in Congress.
So I suspect the folks in the district are going to be forgiving of that. All right. I want to go to the phone lines here: 901-260-5926. Let's go to Greg in Georgia, WDUN, our great affiliate there. Hi, Greg.
What's on your mind today? Well, God, it seems to me like. that we're going through another nine eleven But the only difference is the terrorists were in planes. when they attacked the World Trade Center. But all of this is coming from the inside of it.
America. I didn't know that we had these kind of people were so Well bloodthirsty. to go against a Seating president, how they would do their best to entrap him. And the only thing that really bothers me the worst is, you know, there may not even be an election. come November.
to give us a chance to vote for Donald Trump again. And The other Caller that said something about getting him out of New York. I agree. totally with him. And it's just It's really, I mean, the terrorist are in our country right now.
And the terrorist or even in our government. And it just seemed like there's the only the only way we get out of this As if God does intervene. And does give us a miracle in this country? Uh Otherwise, we don't stand the change. It's going to be fulfilled.
that America will not be with Israel. Because there won't be one. That's just my opinion.
Well, Greg, well, I appreciate that. And look, it's we are asking God to intervene here. And otherwise, we could see the President going off to prison, and that could happen sometime today. And never in a million years would I have thought something like that would have been possible. Greg, appreciate that call, and thank you for listening.
All right, we have to take a quick break here: 901-260-5926. Again, that number, 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, welcome back, everybody. Good to have you with us today.
Greg Price. A um A good guy, and a former colleague had this to say on. X. He says, just a reminder here that it was a Soros-funded district attorney who elevated a misdemeanor. to a felony.
Even though he lowered 60% of all felonies for actual criminals in New York City, it's a great point. Also, remember that the lead prosecutor resigned his position. As the third highest ranking member of Biden's DOJ to join Alvin Bragg's team.
So you literally have a former Justice Department official. Going after Trump in this New York City case. Not to mention that the judge donated money to Joe Biden, Judge Mershan's daughter has raised millions of dollars for Democrats off of the Trump prosecutions. The other lead prosecutor donated to Joe Biden. They're not even trying to hide any of this.
The judge put a gag order on Trump for pointing out the political conflicts of interest to the people prosecuting him.
So it goes on and on and on and on. And now, of course, the judge is allowing the jury to not have to reach a unanimous verdict on the underlying unnamed crime that Trump committed because nobody knows what that crime is. Yeah. So let's go back to the phone lines here: 901-260-5926, Jim in North Carolina. Hi, Jim.
What's on your mind? Hey Todd, how are you? I'm well, thank you for asking. Yeah, I got a question for you. Um Why do they even have a jury?
Well, it's a great point. I mean, th th th I I suppose they don't need one, but it's the semantics of it all. You know, they have to go through the they have to go through the rigamarole here. Yeah, but I mean If it's not going to be unanimous. Um just hammered the goat.
Gabbledown this afternoon said you're guilty.
Well, but again, the jury has to make that decision, Jim.
Well If it's not unanimous, then there's no decision.
Well, according to the law, this was supposed to be a unanimous decision. And if it's not unanimous, only one person objects, then Trump is not guilty. It's a hung jury. But that's just not the way that this judge is playing. I mean, look, the judge is doing whatever is necessary to convict Donald Trump.
That's really what this is all about.
So This could have ended the first day.
Well, it could have. Five weeks. There's no reason for a jury. Yeah. All right, Jim, appreciate that call.
Thank you for listening. 901-260-5926. That's 901. two six zero five nine two six. Coming up a little bit later on today, Congressman Greg Stuby is going to be here.
Also, Nick Searcy. We had some phone issues yesterday. We've got Nick Searcy back. Uh for a conversation about his brand new book. By the way.
Joe Biden One of the One of the squawking magpies on the view today cut number nineteen. It is, of course, an election year. How do you describe to people watching at home what's at stake? Oh my gosh, everything is at stake. And I think, especially for women this year, you know, women's rights are freedoms.
Democracy is on the line. And we have a choice. I mean, this is what I'm out there saying. We have a choice. We can have, you know, my husband who is calm and steady and strong and has character and integrity.
We have the other choice, which is chaotic. And I mean, if you just look at what you just reported on, the craziness of it all.
So we have to decide. Democracy or chaos.
Well, there you go. That's the first lady of these great United States on one of those. She was also on The View today as well. Are you buying any of this at all, folks? That democracy is at stake.
The only people, the only people that are literally burning our Constitution. are the Democrats. The rule of law. The Democrats. They're the ones that are doing all of this.
I want to go back and play some audio from President Trump. Just a little while ago, uh outside of the courtroom, cut number twenty-five. Thank you very much. I would say, in listening to the charges from the judge, who's, as you know, very conflicted. and corrupt because of the confliction, very, very corrupt.
Uh mother terrorists could not beat these charges. These charges are rigged. The whole thing is rigged. The whole country's a mess between the borders and fake elections and You have a trial like this where the judge is so conflicted he can't breathe. He's got to do his job.
And it's not for me that I can tell you. It's a disgrace. And I mean that Mother Teresa could not meet those charges. But we'll see. We'll see how we do.
Mm. President sounds. Tired, he sounds dejected. Ultimately, there's nothing you can do here. It's really all up to The jury.
Yeah. By the way, folks, I want to encourage you to get a copy of my brand new book. It's called Twilight's Last Gleaming. I know many of you folks in North Carolina already have your copies, but I'd love to be able to sign a copy for you. You can do that by going to ToddSterns.com.
That's ToddSterns.com. And we would love to hear from you, by the way. If you have read the book, we'd love for you to give us a call and us know what you think about the brand new book, Twilight's Last Gleaming. Can America Be Saved? And happy to autograph a copy for you over on our website, ToddSterns.com.
You can also get it wherever you buy your books. Audio version available. Also, the digital Kindle version.
However, you read it on the audio. I got to have a physical book in my hands. I'm not one of those screen guys when it comes to books. All right, hang tight, folks. Got to take a quick break.
We'll be right back. That's what that is. And that's All right, welcome back, everybody. Good to have you with us. Want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line?
Good to have back with us Nick Searcy, as a brand new book came out yesterday called Justify This, A Career Without Compromise. Nick, good to have you back with us. Hope you're doing well today. I'm doing well, Todd. Nice to talk to you.
Likewise.
So, look, first of all, congrats on the book. It's a terrific read. And, folks, you've got to get yourself a copy of this. I want to get your reaction before we jump into the book. I want to get your reaction to what's happening with Donald Trump right now.
Someone, a good buddy, just wrote in, said, you know what, the Republic is over if they find him guilty. We, yeah, I mean, this is really, you know, I think it's the end of justice in America. I mean, this is obviously a political prosecution. And as Trump said a long time ago, it's not really him they're after. He's just in the way.
It's all of us. The real enemies of this administration are Americans like us who believe in the Constitution.
So I think this verdict is going to be a turning point one way or the other, either in a good way or a bad way. you've sort of made a name for yourself in Hollywood, and you speak your mind. I know you were there in DC on J Six, still working in Hollywood. How did you make it work? How did they not run you out of town?
I really don't know sometimes, Todd. I think sometimes maybe they just don't pay attention. You know, back when I about five years ago, I guest hosted for Rush Limbaugh, and I was really worried that that might end me in Hollywood. But a good friend of mine who lives there said, you know, if you don't tell anybody in Hollywood that you're hosting the Rush Limbaugh show, they'll never know. Nobody listens to it anyway.
So maybe they just haven't been paying attention and they don't know who I am. But I've been very fortunate. I'm continuing to work.
Well, and you've got a I mean, you've got a great resume. I'm curious, though, about the professional wrestling manager. I was actually watching last night I was watching The Iron Claw, which is a story of the Von Ehrig family and just an incredibly wes incredible wrestling legacy there. How did you get started in that? Yeah.
I've been a wrestling fan my whole life. At one point, I thought I wanted to be a professional wrestler until I realized there was all this weightlifting and that it was really going to hurt.
So I decided to just stick with being an actor. But over the years, I've become friends with a few wrestlers. Matt Hardy was a friend of mine. And one day in 2014, he said, Do you want to come out and manage me in a match in Nashville? And I did it.
And I had a great time. I wrote a whole chapter about that in the book. Was it difficult for you to move to Hollywood and stay true to who you are? You know, I think in some ways my career didn't really, I was in New York trying to do theater and doing plays in my 20s, and I didn't really get started in the film business until I was 31, 32 years old. And so I had gotten started in the southeastern market where people weren't so politically polarized, and you could be a Republican or a Democrat and have a normal conversation with somebody.
So by the time I got to Hollywood, and by the time I realized I should keep my mouth shut, it was too late and everybody knew.
So I just kind of had to roll with it. I just never, I never had hidden who I was, and I just sort of continued that way.
Well, let's talk about the book, Justify This: A Career Without Compromise. Yeah, the book is not necessarily a political book, although certainly there's some of that in there, but it's more about a book about how a kid from North Carolina who didn't know any actors, didn't have any actors in the family, I just decided that I wanted to become an actor and sort of how that all happened for me because it's quite an unlikely thing. And, you know, there's other personal stuff in there. My wife and I adopted a child out of the foster care system. There's a lot of stuff about that.
And it's more or less a book about my life. And hopefully, it'll be an inspiration to people that if I can make it as an actor, or all your dreams could come true. The name of the book is Justify This: A Career Without Compromise.
So you're not living in Hollywood now. Is that right? No, I uh I still own a place in Hollywood, but we go back there uh to visit my uh my other family members that are still there. But yeah, we we have gotten out of California like so many refugees over the last um last couple of years and and we've all we've all it seems like we've all moved to Nashville. Specifically Franklin, yeah, I have to imagine a a lot of Hollywood types down there in the southern part of Nashville.
Yes, a lot of my friends are there. I'm not lonely. It's good. And there's a thriving film community happening in Nashville. They're starting to make films that come out of there.
And I think that's the way I think that's the way it's going to go. I think we're going to start making a new Hollywood out of California. I find this.
So they describe you as one of the meanest Twitter people ever. Is that true?
Well, I try to be, Todd. I try to try to treat people the way I'm treated.
So when they treat me badly, I go right back at them. Yeah, my Twitter feed is pretty much a knife fight that I bring a gun to. Yeah, I love this. You know, a couple of weeks ago, we were talking on the show.
Some columnist somewhere was going after me, and they're like, you know, Starnes' Twitter feed, you know, it's horrible. And 20 years ago, you know, I guess the guy went back through 20 years of tweets and he's found something I wrote. And I'm like, dude, you could have just gone back 20 minutes if you needed to be offended. I mean, it's kind of easy to do.
Well, what good is Twitter if you're not offending somebody? I mean, if that's not what it's for, I don't get the whole purpose of it. Yeah, I'm with you on that, Nick.
Okay, folks, again, the name of the book, Justify This: A Career Without Compromise. The book came out yesterday, and Nick, bookstores, Amazon, where do people need to go to buy the book? It's at Barnes Noble. It's at BarnesNoble.com. It's at Amazon.com.
And I think a few other places where it's retail stores. But if you want to order it, Barnes Noble or Amazon are your best bets.
So you've been an actor, a director, a producer, a writer. You've been a stand-up comedian. You tweet, and you're a former wrestling manager. What was the best gig you've ever had out of all of those? Yeah.
I think my most favorite gig that I ever had was when I did the sitcom Rodney with my friend Rodney Carrington, because the sitcom schedule is the best schedule on the face of the earth for an actor. It's five days a week. You work about two hours a day, and then you go play golf. And then on Friday, you shoot the show in front of a live audience, takes a couple of hours, and you're off again. It's a great, great existence.
I want that gig. Did that for two years and it was I want that gig, Nick, Cersei. I want that gig. It was great. It was great.
Well, Nick, congratulations again.
Well done for you. This is a great book, Justify This: A Career Without Compromise. Nick, we appreciate you coming on the show today. Thank you so much for having me, Todd. We'll talk again.
All right, let's do it. Good guy, right there, folks. And it's a great book. And you might remember Nick from his incredible appearances, the hit TV show Justified. And of course, he guest-hosted for Rush Limbaugh.
El Rushpoe. All right, we've got to take a quick break here. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show.
All right, there is a story happening out of Carlsbad, California. There is a father and a son. They are both chaplains, one in the police department, the other in the fire department. Pastor JC Cooper has served as a volunteer chaplain for the police department for six years, his dad eighteen years.
So the other day, Pastor Cooper was invited to deliver the invocation at a Police Department awards ceremony, and he concluded the prayer by invoking the name of Jesus Christ. That is not unusual, by the way. If you are a person of the Christian faith.
So, anyway, after he delivered the prayer, the city manager called him over. Guy by the name of Scott Chadwick. And Mr. Chadwick said, Hey, look, you can't do that. And if you ever Ever pray in the name of Jesus, you're going to get in trouble.
So the city managers got Chadwick. claimed that invoking the name of Jesus was considered a form of harassment. And he also said that. Praying in the name of Jesus created a hostile work environment. And lifted one religion above any other.
Well, yes, that's what a Christian pastor would do. Mr. Chadwick then told Cooper that he could pray. Using any other name But he could not use the name of Jesus Christ. What about J C?
Yo, yo, yo, JC. You know, that's how a lot of the uh modern people pray these days. Daddy. I literally heard, I was at a church this many years ago. Oh, wow.
I was still in college. I don't know why I remember this. But anyway, I had gone to a traditional. First Baptist Church, you know, Southern Baptist Church. And we have ways of doing things.
And I remember going, and I was, it was this massive church, and they had a really cool young hip college pastor. And man, I was just I Eyes wide as saucers. I'd never seen anything like this. I think there were more people in my Sunday school class than my entire church back home. And it was just sort of shocking.
I was taking it all in. And I'll never forget, oh, everybody was wearing blue jeans. And of course, when I was growing up, you wore like a. I mean, you wore a a suit. And if you were going casual, you just wore a tie without the suit coat.
But it was all very formal going to church. You always, I don't know, when I was raised, I was raised to dress your best for God. You didn't want to show up and look like a slob for God.
Nowadays, people show up to church in their pajama pants. People don't care. They don't care how they look anymore. They're slobs.
So anyway, I'm at this church and They're getting ready. They're like, all right, it's time to pray. Oh, they did the. Oh, they did the Lord's Supper. And it was weird, man.
They have like Krispy cream doughnuts. And Coca Cola. Which was like a weird combo, right? It seems to me you would want. I mean, if you're going to do that, you would want.
Chocolate milk instead of Coca-Cola. I guess they were just doing it to be cool or hip or something. I don't know. But to have a Krispy Kreme and then wash it down with your Coca-Cola, I mean that's you know diabetes, liquid diabetes.
So, anyway, the guy was getting up there, and he said, All right, that's time to pray. And so I stand up and I I clasp my hands like a good little Baptist. Have you ever done that? Did you ever do that as a kid? This is the church.
This is the steeple. Open the door. There's all the people.
So, anyway, I'm sitting there praying like that. I have my hands folded. And the guy just starts praying in the weirdest way. Daddy Oh, Daddy. And I'm like, Daddy?
Whose daddy you talking about? What, Daddy? Who what? And so that's what he call I mean I guess God is your father, but I wouldn't call him Daddy or Pop. All right, everybody, buy your heads.
Hey, Pop, how's it going, Pop? No, you don't do that. What about a little bit of respect? RE SPECT. Anyway, sorry for that, but I again, it just seems to me if you're going to pray, you're going to pray.
So, back to the story from Carlsbad, California.
Well, no, I don't no, Dylan. I don't think that I don't think I'm being holier than thou. I'm just saying you should be reverential when you are praying. One time Dylan. I was working as a part-time This jockey at a Christian radio station.
Why am I telling this story? I'm curious. We would play all the, you know, the tunes like Chris Tomlin, you know, every three minutes, kind of like, you know, K-Love. And, um, So anyway, I was playing this music and then we had to take prayer requests from people who would call in with prayer requests. And you know, I mean, some of them were very sincere.
I mean, well, all of them were sincere, right? But people were calling in, they were sharing things that they wanted the rest of the radio audience to pray for.
Okay. And um This lady called in. And she said, I I got diarrhea. Hmm. Why are you laughing?
It's not funny. Nope, it's not. See college, I got the diarrhea. I'm like, oh, oh, oh. And I'm just thinking to myself, you know.
We all have needs in our lives and we all need prayer. But it seems to me that if you've got diarrhea and you're calling a radio program to ask for prayer from the audience about your condition, that that probably ought to be an unspoken prayer request. I agree with you there. Right. I'm just saying.
Unless she wanted it shared.
So more people can pray.
Well, it does splatter. I'm just saying. Does that make me? That makes me sound like a horrible person. I'm not saying don't pray.
I'm just saying. I have an unspoken. And you know, that kind of covers it because it's like If you're dealing with hemorrhoids, which is a very painful condition from what I've been told. You know, you probably don't want to call in to the Tom Stearns radio show and say, Todd? We love Donald Trump, but I got a bigger problem.
I got the hemorrhoids. I need someone to lay hands on me. Probably not going to happen on this show. But if it's an unspoken We're gonna Mm-hmm. I just say.
Anyway, back to this story. In Carlsbad, California.
So the city manager says. Mentioning the name of Jesus Christ is a form of harassment. And so now First Liberty Institute is involved, and they're representing the father and the son, both chaplains, and they say, hey, look. You are breaking the law here by banning. You cannot ban somebody from praying in the name of Jesus.
But in Curlsbed, California, they think they can. I'm just saying. All right, let's go to the phone lines. 901-260-5926. Bill.
In Georgia. Hi, Bill. What's going on? Hey, Todd.
President Trump, you know, I didn't know much until I got to know him, but He reminds me of of Solomon in many ways 'cause Solomon was the the man of wisdom back in the Bible. And a lot of Christians you know, just think Solomon's great and I do too, the book of Proverbs, all the wisdom.
However, Solomon wasn't perfect, right? He was a rich man. He had seven hundred wives, three hundred concubines, but yes, we're not throwing him under the bus. He's a man of God, and I believe Trump Yeah. God ordained And God is using him, and we got to pray for him.
and I believe is a good man at heart. And yeah, rich people do things. That's just the way it is for some rich people. And I just want to all pray for. President Trump because what's happening to him is just wrong.
Well, and Bill, I appreciate you calling in. We're going to have to leave it there because we're up against the break. I will say this, though, Bill, that President Trump says he didn't do anything wrong here. And this may be one of those instances where Trump didn't do anything wrong. Certainly, Stormy Daniels, multiple times over the years, denied any sort of wrongdoing, any sort of relationship.
She denied any sort of hush money. As a matter of fact, the attorney for Michael Cohen said even Michael Cohen didn't think there was a crime here that Trump didn't do anything.
So Yeah. And as far as I know, we've got no concubines involved in this, so there there's that at least. All right, well, we got to take a break here. 901-260-5926. That's our telephone number.
That's 901-2606. 260-5926. And no, we are sympathetic if you're dealing with the, you know. The hemorrhoids or the Hershey squirts, if you will. All right, we'll be right back.
Hang tight, get better, America. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. That's right. I love this American ride. Well, hello.
So the good news is charges have been dropped. Just not against President Trump. Hello, everybody. Welcome. To the Todd Stearns radio program, hour three of the big show, underway.
Just getting word in from. from Kentucky that Scotty Scheffler will no longer face any charges and that crazy story. It all unfolded at the PGA Championship in Kentucky. Where he was arrested just before the start of second-round play. He had been facing four charges, including felony assault.
Videos surfaced, and it looked like the police officer in this case grossly exaggerated what went down.
So, anyway, good news is charges. Have been dropped, and it's our understanding that the Detective has also been dealt with. We don't know what that means, but there you go. In the meantime, President Trump is awaiting his fate, now in the hands of a jury. It's been a couple of hours since the jury got the case.
Now, the way things normally go here is that the jury will probably take they probably, as soon as they all sat down, just took a trial vote to see where everybody stood. And uh then they begin uh the uh deliberations. But we have no word there have been no questions sent back to the judge All's quiet on the western front. We're going to be taking your calls on this nine hundred one two six zero five nine two six. That's nine hundred one two six zero five nine two six.
Let's go to Maine. Diane is listening to us on WLOB. Hi, Diane, what's going on? I'm not sure. How are you today?
I'm well, thank you for asking. I'm very depressed. Been crying, get mad, been crying, get mad. Because this Democrat Party, and I have friends that are Democrats that I don't care to ever talk to again. 'cause they are tearing our republic apart.
And this day will go down in history Todd. If this goes through and they arrest our President, and put him in jail. And I don't think he'll run away, Todd. I follow this man all the time. He once said that if it takes him going to jail, he'll do it for the love of the country.
And We have to remember, we are MAGA. We have courage. We've got to be courageous. Courage is a virtue that all other virtues fall upon, Todd. Don't sit home.
Don't say, well, another day. Do something. Go out in the street. Protest. But do it uh quietly, peacefully, whatever.
Call your I was gonna say call your government, but they're corrupt.
So I'm like I just don't know what to do, Todd. I don't, it's like I'm sitting on my hands and I need to do something for this man. I love him so much. And my country. Look, I hear it, Diane.
I hear it in your voice. I hear it in President Trump's voice. And I understand. Look, I don't believe the president is going to hop on Trump Force One and get back to Mar-a-Lago. If they take him into custody, they're going to take him into custody.
It just, it's sickening to even think that we are at the point now where this man could end up in prison. I I don't Well, we're just we're a banana republic. They they they've just shot the whole republic. But people and what a time, right after Memorial Day, when we honored the dead that sacrificed their lives for this country. This is what the Democrat Party and this judge that's as corrupt as they can be.
is doing to America. And I'm shaking, I am so upset by this, Todd. That I I just I I can't do enough for my President. I I just can't. If I could lay my life down for that man today and have everything dropped, I would do it in a heartbeat, in a heartbeat.
Oh. And I don't usually I usually have better control of myself, but This is our country tonight. This is our republic. Yeah, it is great. And Diane, I hear it.
I hear it in every fiber of your voice. I hear it. And I suspect there are many others around the country that feel the same way you do right now. And it's hard not to let your mind go to very dark places with what they have done to this man. And And remembering that they're not only doing it to Donald Trump, but they're doing it to all of us.
And we do have to remain peaceful people. And I think they know that. I think part of that is baked into their cake, is that they know that MAGA people are peaceful people. We're law-abiding people. We're not going to go out there and burn down city blocks.
That's not what we do. And they know that. And I think they use that against us. But I'm Diane, I'm just not sure that the country is truly prepared for what's about to happen. I mean, if this goes down the way I suspect it is, I think people are just going to it's going to be staggering.
The response, staggering. I agree with you 100%. I do want to end this conversation, though, on kind of a cheerful note. De Niro thought New York City was going to welcome him with open arms. They served his head on a platter.
Well, they sure did. All right. Thanks, Diane. Yeah, they did. And by the way, I didn't realize De Naro was such a tiny little man.
He wears these shoes that have the big, huge lifts in them. I've never seen him, and he's still a tiny guy. It's very strange. But he thought he was like he thought he was um one of the gangsters. He thought he was back in Goodfellas.
And the Trump supporters were not having anything to do with that. Trump, by the way, went on to say. Earlier this morning, we're going to take back our country from these fascists and these thugs that are destroying us with inflation. And everything and with everything they do, He went on to mention they've allowed 17 million people into the country totally unvetted. and totally unchecked.
He says we're going to take back our nation. Let's go to Joe in Ella J, Georgia. Joe, you're following these developments. What say you? Todd, listen, let me tell you something.
I feel so strongly about Trump, I think he'll be exonerated and win with the landslide with your help. But if he's not, I would vote I'm so fired up, I would vote for Trump from for a jail cell. We must get him elected.
So you're telling me if Trump is in if Trump is in prison and if he's sent to jail today, he's still got your vote? Yes, Joe McCutcheon will vote from him from the jail, and I'll do it with pleasure. And I think he'll win from the jail. I think the American people are behind him, Todd. And whether he goes to jail or doesn't go to jail, I think Donald John Trump will be the next president of the United States, and your radio program is going to help get him there, my friend.
Joe, it's good hearing from you, sir, and I appreciate that. These are no doubt dark and troubling times for our country, are they not, Joe? They certainly are, Todd, but I feel good long term. I think we're going to elect Trump, and I think we'll have the Republicans take over the Senate and increase our majorities in the House.
So I'm real optimistic. And of course, Biden wants to raise your taxes. Trump wants to cut them. To me, that's a very simple choice. I want to vote for someone that's going to cut my taxes, not raise my taxes, Todd.
Joe, appreciate that call, and thank you for listening. If the Democrats were thinking straight and they really need James Carville right now and they need to listen to him, because Carville and others are they understand what's about to happen here, that Trump is about to become a martyr. And if once he goes to jail, I think Trump wins in a landslide and the Democrats are destroyed at the ballot box.
Now If we were dealing with You know, a James Carville. Or someone from one of those 1990s-style Democrats. They would understand that the most positive outcome for the Democrats is for Trump to get off on these charges. Because then they've got a fighting chance. But I'm curious, ladies and gentlemen, if Donald Trump is thrown in jail, does he still have your vote?
901-260-5926. Our number, that's 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. Oh boy.
So, the Joe Biden campaign, they're in Philadelphia today, and they brought out a marching band and a. Human sized elmo.
Somebody's dressed up as elmo. No. No, Biden's not tickling Elmo. At least not right now, Dylan. I'll keep you updated on that.
So there you go. Welcome back to the Time Stearns Radio Program. Happy to have you with us. Want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line? Congressman Greg Stuby joins us, member of the House Weighs and Committee, Judiciary Committee.
Congressman, hope you're doing good. Yeah, doing well. Thanks, John, for having me. You know, a lot of people are very angry right now. Congressman, about what's happening to President Trump and the judge's insane orders to the jury earlier today.
What's your take on where this is all going? I mean, as a lawyer, frustrated is the least description adjective that I could give live on the radio. As a member of Congress, it's insulting that the weaponization and politization of our Department of Justice under Joe Biden to take out his number one political enemy, and of course, the. It's not necessarily to get an actual conviction, it's to keep him off the campaign trail for five weeks. It's for him to spend tens of millions of dollars on a defense on something that's completely and utterly ridiculous and wouldn't be brought against any other American for similar alleged behavior.
And it's just frustrating because as a member of Congress, there's not much you can do. other than what I and some of my other colleagues wanted to do is to fund parts of the Jack Smith investigation, other things like this. But this is New York, and they're going to do this. And it's just be it's beyond the pale that we're seeing this in present day America. This is the stuff you see in Venezuela going after their political opponents.
This is the kind of stuff you see in Russia. And we've entered into it here. I mean, the actual charges are ridiculous. And I just pray and I hope that there's one juror on this jury panel that isn't going to use the politicization and the things that are going on, is reasonably going to look at the facts And reasonably look at the testimony. Like we had the individual who used to represent Michael Cohen come and testify before Costello, that came and testified before the committee and then testified on Trump's defense that said Michael Cohen came to him and said Trump had nothing to do with this, it was all his idea.
And he was his lawyer representing him at this time.
So hopefully, there's a juror that has a reasonable amount of understanding and is willing to be like, there's no way that President Trump committed any of these. And if one person holds out, hopefully, they'll get a hung jury and not be able to convict him. And that is hopeful. That's what we're certainly hoping for. The reality is that that's going to be a long shot.
We're praying for a miracle. If he goes to jail, are you concerned about unrest in this country one way or the other? 100%. I mean, like, you're seeing the machinations of like a communist socialist country where they're taking their political opponent. And putting him in prison for something that he didn't do that's ridiculous, that doesn't violate the law.
Any lawyer, any person, even CNN is like, well, Michael Cohen is a horrible witness and is lying to the jury. Yeah, I mean, you're going to see unrest in this country if that happens. I would think that they're smart enough.
So let's say that the jury does convict him on one or multiple counts of this. I cannot I would imagine that the Biden Team has had conversations with Judge Merchant, and it was like, you cannot put him in prison because if you put him in prison, America is going to go. like crazy. Like it's it's going to be and and and Todd, this is what's what's happening in America right now. Mainstream Americans, like not political Americans, people that are independents and even some Democrats see this for what it is.
And the more times he's indicted, the more times he's having to deal with stuff like this, the higher his poll numbers go, because everyday Americans see this exactly for what it is. Political persecution and prosecution of their opponent, and they see the alleged crime and are like, this is ridiculous, that they're going to charge him for not. He annotated a charge in his business the wrong way, allegedly. And they see it for what it is.
So his poll numbers are going to skyrocket. I actually think Trump deep down is like, yeah, and he said this with the whole gag order thing, which is a whole nother issue for another day. I hope he does send me to prison because I'm willing to do that for my own freedom and for the freedom of Americans to stand up for that. And that's kind of where we are. And I think if the judge is stupid enough, if there is a conviction that comes back to put him in prison, you're going to see complete support all across the country for what they know is a weaponized justice system against their political opponent.
Yeah, I'm with you on that. And again, this all comes back down to reasonable doubt. And when you've got a the prosecution that took them over four hours, four hours in their closing arguments, that tells me that they don't even have a clue what this case is about. I did prosecution in the JAGCOR. Obviously, I went to law school, but I actually prosecuted federal crimes in the JAGCOR as a prosecutor.
And you would never bring a case like this. And you would assume that the jury would have enough understanding hearing the defense to be like, this isn't but again, it's New York. You never know. It's mostly Democrat up there. You have a completely weaponized Alvin Bragg who campaigned on trying to go after Trump.
And you never know what a jury is going to do, but you would hope and pray that out of the entire jury, there's going to at least be one person that's going to look at this and be like, see it for what it is. Um and and not bring charges. But But there's a part of me that thinks that, hey, how many of these jurors were like hand selected into the pool by Alvin Bragg in the Democratic machine and the deep state to ensure that They're going to get a conviction, some form of a conviction, so that then during the general election in November, they can tout on every single airwave, on every single ad that the convicted Trump, the convicted candidate of the Republicans, and they're going to use that, obviously, political, which shows you, I mean, wasn't the Biden campaign like there yesterday or something and had some event? It just shows you that Biden's DOJ and Biden himself and the apparatus of the Democratic Party is all over this. They created this, they started this, and all of these different jurisdictions, these are Democratic jurisdictions, just to tar and feather, our nominee that will be anointed in our July.
Republican nomination process for President. And just to be clear, so the I mean, if Trump is found guilty today, he could be remanded immediately. I don't think the judge is that stupid, but he could be sent right off to prison. Is that right? Absolutely.
He could be put in handcuffs. Process, put in an orange jumpsuit and put in jail for a period of time that the judge feels appropriate. And I really don't think that even the Democrats want that because they know that the response to that is going to be overwhelming. But it's not beyond the chance. And this judge is completely and utterly compromised, gave money to Joe Biden.
Trump's lawyers even multiple times asked him to recuse himself because he's not impartial. There are number, like whatever happens today will get overturned in an appellate court. There are a number of different things that are going to be appealed if he does get convicted. But they know that that'll be like six months from now or three months from now or however long from now. And at that point, it's too late because he's quote unquote a convicted felon in New York.
So this is all political. I know everybody listening to this radio station knows that it is, but I just hope that the mainstream American and everyday Americans out there see this exactly. For what it is. And if my frustration hasn't come through, I think every patriot, not a Republican, but I serve this country. I put on a uniform, and to see what's happening in the political process to weaponize our justice system against your political opponents is insane.
I just recently read an article where Jack Smith was going to indict members of Congress who, quote unquote, voted against. Unbelievable. Congressman, I hate to do this. We are right up against a brake, and the computer is going to cut us off. But I appreciate you coming on.
And again, the frustration is coming through. I get it. Folks, hang tight. We'll be right back. All right, welcome back, everybody.
Good to have you with us on the show today as we await the jury decision in the Trump trial. Let's go to the phones: 901-260-5926. Let's start in Georgia. Wayne listening to us on WRWH. Hi, Wayne.
What's on your mind? Hi.
Well, I got three things that are on my mind. One is Are there any patriots in New York? I haven't seen any. pictures of Trump supporters outside of the courthouse. And if they are there, they need to get on down there.
The other thing was um I was hoping that you And other conservative radio stations have taken measures to stay on the air because. If they do send him to jail and there is some unrest. The next thing would be to pull the plugs on the communication lines, which are Conservative Talk Show. And then the last thing I had was One of the last broadcasts that Rush Limbaugh made, he said. uh talking about the pacifism was that he was certainly glad that Sam Adams didn't feel that way.
Um prayer is good, and we should. But James chapter two also says that we should combine it with works. And at some point, when they take our votes away and our votes count for nothing, We have to take action. We just do.
So, Wayne, these are good questions, and I'm going to do my best to try to answer them for you. I will say this: the good news. Is that and what separates me from every other radio host in America? Is that I actually own my own radio station. And so if the government ever comes in and tries to shut down these talk radio hosts, they will not be able to do that with yours truly.
So we have our own radio system, our own streaming systems.
So we have everything in place we need should the government try to do something nefarious.
So we're going to be good there. As far as what action to take, and you heard the Congressman, Congressman Stuby, just a few moments ago, and he said that there's going to be chaos. And I don't think you will be able to tell Trump supporters America First Patriots just to go to their church house and pray. They're going to want to do something. And at some point, you have to step back and ask yourself: okay, what is really going on in this country?
Are we to a point now where? Where civil liberties are under attack? And if so, at what point do you take action? And so, I do think we're there yet? No, I don't.
But then again, we've never had a president. Shipped off to prison. on trumped up charges. Correct. We didn't just pray for the British to be defeated.
we in the revolution.
So yeah, I hope you point all of your broadcasting power if you can manipulate your antennas. toward the state of New York.
So they can hear it loud and clear.
Well, we have a great streaming system, and while they may not be able to hear the terrestrial radio signal coming from our flagship station, they will certainly be able to hear it on our stream. And so I would encourage you folks, by the way, the radio station I own, kwamradio.com, kwamradio.com, download our free app. That is your guarantee for conservative talk radio that will not ever be censored. We will never censor and we will not allow it to be censored. But download that free app.
It won't cost you a single penny. We don't ask for any money. But be sure to do that. kwamradio.com and download that app. Let's go to Robert in Tennessee, WTJS, our great affiliate in the western part of the state.
Now, Robert, I understand that you're a former police officer. Is that right? I did that in my youth. I did, but years ago, I changed careers, but I went to union while I was policing here in the city. But you know, there's deal with trial.
I think it's Rig. And I say that because politics is dirty in many places, not just DC, not just New York. A district attorney can get A grand jury could indict anybody for anything if a district attorney wants to, because. They only the grand jury only hears one side of the story. There's not a defense.
In the wind. They can tell them, I want you to vote to indict this person for jaywalking or indict them for whatever. But I have s I I've told people this in the area here since the beginning of this. I think Trump was a victim of extortion. By Zooka, Basic.
Okay. I'll just say it. That's kind of older, but I think he was a victim of extortion.
Well, again, Trump is saying didn't do anything at all, and all the evidence seems to point that direction, that the President did absolutely nothing wrong here, Robert. And I fully agree with you that. If they put him, you know, if they convict him and they put him in jail, I think it's going to be chaos. I really do. I do too, Robert.
And I think that, I mean. You know, again, this is we're in uncharted waters right now. And the saving grace is that there's one person on the jury, just one person. But we'll have to wait and see. Robert, God bless you.
Thank you for calling in. Let's go to Kathy in Oregon. Hi, Kathy. What's on your minds? Hi, Todd.
I've got two little things. If I were President Trump, I would not let Nikki Haley anywhere near My administration. She didn't keep any of the thing promises, I don't know if they were promises or just comments, but She didn't keep any of that on her uh Primary Campaign Trail She kept running and running although she said she wouldn't. Um And What she reminds me and then she comes along and says I'm going to vote for President Trump. I think she's trying to smooth him and us.
And it reminds me of Omarosa. Oh, yeah, from the Apprentice. Yeah, I think she I think that President Trump gave her that position. You know, just 'cause he knew her and she wanted it, whatever. But she was a backstabber.
She took listening devices into meetings. And I think Nikki Haley would be a plant. And I wouldn't let her anywhere near, no matter. If she sings his praises or not.
Well, Trump's a smart guy, and he's going to see through all this stuff. I truly believe it, Kathy. But I think you're right to be concerned about Nikki Healy. I don't trust her. There's something going on there, and I just don't trust it.
Kathy, appreciate that call. God bless you. Did you know that the majority of your grocery store's meat aisle was imported from some other country? Other than the United States, I had no idea. But this is the way it is.
As a matter of fact, when you get your hamburger meat and it says there's a label that says product of the USA, that just means that the hamburger was packaged in America, not raised here. And this is why I buy my beef exclusively now from BackyardButchers.com. They are a Christian conservative Texas-based company, and all of their beef and their steaks, their chickens, everything is raised right here in the good old US of A, grass-fed and grain-finished. And the meat tastes unbelievable.
So, BackyardButchers.com, you're going to save an extra 20% off your entire order by using my code Todd. And when you subscribe, you're going to get an additional 10% off and free shipping.
So go to BackyardButchers.com/slash Todd. That's BackyardButchers.com/slash Todd and get yourself an order of delicious beef from our friends at Backyard Butchers. All right, let's go. To George in Tennessee, WTJS. Hi, George.
What's on your mind? Hello there. I'm uh Christians who, and I'm going to try to make this brief as possible. But there's a story in the Old Testament that has given me a lot of hope. when I face situations that were I'd call impossible.
And it's found in Second Chronicles chapter twenty. And King Jehoshaphat had it. multitude of armies coming toward Judah, and there was as many as the sand of the sea he could it was it was hopeless and he right cried out to Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Yeah, quickly, George, we're running up against a break here.
Okay. He cried out to the Lord and. See her told him that he was Oh. The Lord was going to fight for him and not to worry and that's just what happened. They went down the next day and marched down.
They didn't have army men in front. They had the players team in front, went down to the edge of the city. And guess what? All the enemy was on the ground after dead. And they had enough.
Yeah, I think it's a very good idea. It took three days to take em all back to Jerusalem. That's that's what happened, Dave. tragedy turned into a a veil of happiness.
So you think something like that could happen with Trump and that out of the the the horribleness of all of this, Trump could come out victorious. I do. And I thank God that he f he can fight and you know, physical battles, but he also has can fight mental And I'm sorry, because I believe Trump is innocent.
Well, I'm I'm with you there. I see it's a great point, George, and I thank you for making it, and thanks for calling in. Real quick, let's uh go to Robert in North Carolina. Hi, Robert. What say you?
Hey, I've got two points, Todd. One is For VP. He really needs Mike Pompeo. If you haven't read Mike's book, Never Give an Inch. He is experienced, he is a Christian, he is a conservative.
I would vote for him for President. But He would certainly make a great vice president. The second point I think they're headed toward an actual insurrection. I think they're trying to upset the population sufficiently that Trump's followers will start creating so much havoc that they will be able to declare martial law. And I don't think Biden has come up with this on his own.
I don't think he has that much Brain function left. But if they're able to declare martial law, then they can shut down the entire. Uh system and we're just totally screwed. Robert, I can see that happening. And you're right, Biden doesn't have the bandwidth for any of this.
It's all being orchestrated by Barack Hussein, Obama, and probably people we don't even know about in the deep state.
So I think you're onto something there. And I will say this: if President Trump If there is video of President Trump in an orange jumpsuit being put into prison, The door slamming shut, the I just really fear for what's going to happen next in this country. I really do. Robert, thanks for that call. Got to take a break.
901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. Uh All right, folks, welcome back. And again, we are monitoring the jury deliberations in New York City. Be sure to listen to your local Tonk Radio station throughout the day, they're going to keep you updated.
And if we get any information, we will let you know. 4:30 Eastern, we expect for the judge to wrap up deliberations for the day, and then they'll come back tomorrow if they do not have a verdict. I want to go to the Patriot mobile newsmaker line, and we have a great American Patriot with us. His name is Art Alley, founder of the Timothy Plan. TimothyPlan.com is the website.
Art, good to have you with us today. Man, it's always my honor, Tod. Art, you know, we've been watching these developments coming out of New York City and just words like Stalinist and Marxist coming from some pretty calm, normally calm individuals out there in the world of punditry, but a lot of people are very upset at the way President Trump has been treated.
Well, they ought to be. I mean, my gosh. We're not yet a third world country. This stuff, you know, it's. It's incredible how they're getting away with what they're getting away with.
You know, Art, we've been following a lot of other stories as well, and there's a shocking report out there, a brand new survey. Seventy-eight percent of consumers now view fast food As a luxury item, because it's getting so expensive to go out to eat. Are you hearing that? Are you shocked by those numbers? I saw that the other day, and that's incredible.
And I don't go to McDonald's and those, so I don't know, but I understand the prices are just going through the roof. But the price of everything is going through the roof. It's crazy.
So, maybe it is a luxury dining. I don't know. Well, I know our dining room. I'm sorry, Ark go ahead. Ruth's Chris.
I prefer Ruth's Chris. I was I'm a you see, I'm just a good burger guy and and Ruth's Chris actually has a great hamburger. You can only get it during the lunch hour, but I'd I'd put that up against any burger. There you go, man. Art, there is a story up on our website, ToddStarnes.com.
Walmart announces that they are doubling down and will provide a lot of gay pride merchandise during the so-called Pride Month celebration. What's your take on that?
Well, you know, Target's doing the same thing, and all that's doing is costing them. I mean, how in the world they can continue to promote an agenda That is costing them customers is beyond my understanding. But Pride Month is kind of interesting and it's been accepted widely. And if I could just tell a side story on that, if I have time, Todd, it's pretty interesting. Yeah, go ahead.
Well, you know, we hold these pastor boot camps and equip pastors to deal with this culture biblically. One of our alumni Went home from Little Rock, Arkansas boot camp, right here in Florida. in Lake Wales, got talked into running for he's a pastor, got talked into running for mayor. He didn't want to, but he said, Well, I'll run and then they'll leave me alone because there's no way I'll win. But he won.
And he learned. That the mayor gets to appoint the heads of the departments in the city, the city of Lake Wales.
So he just put people from his church in those as heading up those departments. But what happened? is when this is two years ago now. June rolled around He gets on his, it's a part-time job on his mayoral desk because he's still a pastor. The proclamation, the proclaim June is Gay Pride Month.
in his city. And he said, I'm not signing this. And man, I mean, these people are vicious. They came after him with slings, arrows, and everything, but he stood strong. He said in Lake Wales.
June is father and family month. That was two years ago, Todd. I'm telling you that to tell you this. Last year Seven other cities in his county followed suit. Wow.
People just need someone to stand up and say enough is enough, wrong is always wrong. And we're not going to cave into this politically correct nonsense that is not really correct by any stress.
So I just wanted to throw that in. People will stand And that's our problem. We complain. But we got to step up and do something. And man, I'm proud of him.
