Welcome to the Todd Starnes Show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit LegacyPMInvestments.com. That's LegacyPMInvestments.com. Live from the Liberty University studio in Memphis, Tennessee, It's America's conservative blowtorch.

That's us. That's right. I love this American ride. Todd Starnes. Oh, yeah.

Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, people of America and planet Earth, hello. This is Todd Starnes, your friendly neighborhood talk radio host, noon to 3 Eastern. Ladies and gentlemen, we must begin today's program with breaking news. Yes, we have breaking news to share with you here on the Todd Stearns Radio program. I encourage you to gird yourselves, not only your loins, but your entire body, ladies and gentlemen, for what I, Todd Stearns, am about to tell you.

But it turns out for the first time in American history, dare I say world history, that yours truly is now in agreement with Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Yes, it is true, ladies and gentlemen. Ilhan Omar finally got something right. And I know this is a shock to a lot of you. Welcome to the program.

I want to start with this. It's probably the most bizarre story, political story, I have seen in a very long time. And no, it has nothing to do with Big Fannie Willis, the DA down in Fulton County, Georgia. No, this has to do with Congressman Max Miller of Ohio, who, folks, I have no idea what this guy was thinking. But Congressman Miller, who is a Republican from Ohio, gave unsolicited opinion on a post written by a constituent, a young woman by the name of Lizzie Marbach.

And Lizzie Marbach tweeted the following. And again, brace yourself. I know this is going to shock our conservative audience here. She said, there is no hope for any of us outside of having faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Now, I know this is a shock, but this is a basic tenet of the Christian faith.

Now, Congressman Miller is a self-identified and, I quote, proud Jew. And by the way, good for you. Be proud, Congressman. There's nothing wrong with that.

Now, we love people on this program. It doesn't matter if you're Jewish or Christian. We love you on this program. And we like the atheist. We don't love, but we like you guys.

So anyway, Marbach tweeted this, and there's nothing wrong. I mean, this is what we believe as Christians.

So Congressman Miller fired back, calling it, quote, one of the most bigoted tweets he had ever seen. and then a sitting United States congressman demanded that this woman delete her tweet or exed. What do we call it now? We call it tweet. We used to call it tweets.

Twitter is now exed, but we don't know what we call the tweet. What do they call the tweets now, Dylan? We don't know. All right, we're working on it.

So my apologies, we're just going to call it a tweet. Otherwise, I'm going to get terribly confused.

So anyway, this set off a firestorm of controversy. and people were very upset about this. The congressman goes on to talk about religious freedom in the United States and he says religious freedom in the United States applies to every religion. You have gone too far, Lizzie. You have gone too far.

So what is he saying? That Christians can't practice their faith? They can't declare their faith in the public marketplace? Is that what this guy is saying? Who is this guy?

so people are really fired up over this and matt walsh says a as a gop congressman from ohio why in the world would you think it's a good idea to condemn someone as bigoted for professing their christian faith this is terrible it is absolutely terrible so anyway of all people ilhan omar has involved herself and honestly in all fairness and folks when i'm wrong i am wrong and i'm happy to to share that with you uh on the air i said based on the my original tweet about this honest to goodness i said it sounds to me like congressman miller's been hanging around ilhan omar too much well no sooner had i written that ilhan omar weighs in and ilhan omar blasted miller yes ladies and gentlemen a muslim congress gal is now siding with the christians i it's unbelievable anyway um here we go so ilhan omar says that miller is harassing people who freely express their beliefs she said stating the core beliefs or principles of your faith is not bigoted as Lizzie did. It's religious freedom, and no one should be scolded for that. She's absolutely right, ladies and gentlemen. It's also wrong to speak about religious freedom while simultaneously harassing people who freely express their beliefs.

Somebody give her a glass of sweet tea or something. She sounds like a Baptist. Holy cow. Anyway, the congressman is apologizing of sorts, and he did post something on his Twitter feed, his ex-feed, saying, and I'm going to, I want to read this to you. He says, I posted something earlier.

I posted something earlier that conveyed a message I did not intend. I will not try to hide my mistake or run from it. I sincerely apologize to Lizzie and to everyone who read my post. by the way 1.1 million people are now engaged on this uh this twitter thing it's insane i'm curious to know what was the message congressman what were you trying to convey i just just want to put that out there what are you trying to convey here so anyway um i don't know again the congressman needs to i honestly he's got to answer to his constituents. And I don't know, maybe there aren't any Christians in the 7th Congressional District in Ohio.

I don't know. But I'm curious to know what this guy was trying to convey and what's going on in the Republican Party, because there are others like Congressman Miller who feel the same way. And many of them are not Jewish. They profess to be conservatives or maybe non-practicing people. Maybe they're atheists or they're not religious for whatever reason.

And they don't believe that religious liberty should be involved in the political process, when in fact religious liberty should be at the center of it all. And it is not. And that's why we have the chaos in the culture.

So there you go. Wow. Did he ever step in it? And it's just it's mind blowing because people just don't get it. They're like, why would you why would you step into a controversy like this?

I have no word. And again, it was not like she was calling him out on this. And by the way, may I just step back for a moment here, and I don't want to create a religious holy war among the denominations, but may I just say something about this. There are religions, and if you are a devout follower of your religion, you believe your religion is the only way to get to heaven, right?

So if you're a Mormon, then you're going to believe what you believe. If you're an evangelical Christian, you're going to believe what you're going to believe. And this is one of my issues with politics and how some of these religious groups have now gotten involved in politics, and they are just as secular as everybody else when it comes to politics. Because a lot of these evangelical groups, and we talked about this yesterday with one of the big groups out in Iowa, And it turns out it was basically a pay-for-play scheme, nothing illegal. I would say probably unethical, but nothing illegal.

But Rod DeSantis and his cohorts paid $95,000. And again, it gives the impression that, oh, well, Rod DeSantis, who is allegedly a devout Roman Catholic, is really one of us evangelicals, when in fact he's not. He's a Roman Catholic, and the Catholics believe what they believe, and the evangelicals believe what they believe. And in America, guess what? You get to do that.

That's what makes America so great. You can practice your religion. As long as you're not blowing up buildings or flying jetliners into towers, we're good. You do you. That's what makes America great.

But that's what bothers me about these evangelical groups that are now involved in the political process. And again, I think we ought to be involved, but I don't think that we ought to be co-opted, right? You can't just set your belief system on the shelf and be political opportunist. You cannot do that. It doesn't work like that.

So all that to say, it's really puzzling when you've got these evangelicals saying, oh, well, the best person to represent an evangelical is a Roman Catholic.

Okay, well, well, what about the evangelicals in the race? Wouldn't the evangelicals? And again, let's just say that you're having the Catholic whatever, all right, the Catholic political group, and you invite all the evangelicals. It just seems to me from a Catholic perspective that you would believe the conservative Catholic would represent conservative Catholics better than, say, a Lutheran. No, I have nothing against a Lutheran.

I'm just using it as an example, Dylan.

So they're Presbyterian, if you will. That's all. It's just, this is just bonkers.

So anyway, back to Congressman Miller. Shame on you, sir. One of the nice things about Twitter or X or whatever they're going to call it, one of the nice things about it, you can normally figure out, you can sniff out, you can sniff out a bigot in under 240 characters. Get it together, Congressman. All right, we have got a lot going on today and a lot of great culture war stories to bring your way, a lot of political news.

And we've got some great guests. Our good buddy, Governor Mike Huckabee, is going to drop by, and we're going to talk politics with him and get his take on what's been happening with Donald Trump. There is a brand new survey out, and my question to you is very simple. Are you now more inclined to support Donald Trump? after these indictments.

I don't believe there are any other indictments coming down.

So this is it. We're four indictments in. Are you still on board the Trump train? That's what I want to know. Because I'm telling you, the polling data suggests that Donald Trump is doing incredibly well.

As a matter of fact, the Hill.com, this is the headline, 53% in new polls say they would.

Now, this is fascinating, okay? This is overall. We're talking about all Americans, all right? Nationwide, when you expand outside of the Republican Party, more than half of Americans surveyed said they would not support former President Trump if he's the nominee. This is according to the Associated Press poll.

Another 11% say they probably would not support him.

So you're looking at roughly 64% of voters who say if Trump is the nominee, that they're not going to support Donald Trump.

So I'm curious to know about you. Where do you stand on this? Because the establishment wing of the party, they're going to be taking these kinds of surveys, and they're going to go to town with them. And they're going to say this is the reason why Trump cannot, cannot be the nominee.

Now, CBS News has a new poll out from Iowa. Trump still leads the polls in Iowa, but some voters grow weary. That's the headline there. Polls show that Trump maintains a significant lead in Iowa, a stronghold for Republicans, even though he has been indicted. And by the way, many people telling CBS News that President Trump is a victim here.

and it's true. I mean, he is. I think when you look at the polling data, people say this man is being bullied, and it is not acceptable. But I'm telling you, within the party itself, Trump is beloved. I mean, absolutely beloved.

The Associated Press, President Trump enjoys strong support among Republicans. And again, that's true, but the general election could be a very different story. And the issue there is how does Trump not only attract independents, how does he get establishment Republicans to support his campaign? Seven in 10 Republicans now have a favorable opinion of Trump. The more Ron DeSantis opens his mouth, the more Ron DeSantis is out there on the campaign trail, the fewer number of people are supporting his campaign.

And DeSantis and his people, they've got to get that figured out. I mean, they really do. It is a mess out there for him. And again, great guy, right? I mean, he is, I mean, if it's not going to be Trump, who is it going to be?

It cannot be DeSantis, at least not right now. DeSantis has to figure out how to fix what he's trying to sell to the Republican voters, because right now it is not working. All right, we got to take a break here. And I'm curious, are you on the Trump train? And I especially want to hear from people who are not Republicans.

Are you an independent? Are you a Democrat? What is it going to take for Donald Trump to get your vote? 844-747-8868 is our phone number. That is a toll-free number, 844-747-8868.

All right, we have a brand new national poll to share with you. This is from RMG Research, and this is pretty fascinating.

Now listen up here. This is a national poll. According to the data, President Trump leads at 60%.

So he's got a 47-point lead over all other candidates. Coming in second place is Vivek Ramaswamy. This is fascinating.

So Trump at 60%, Ramaswamy at 13%, Ron DeSantis dropping into single digits now at just 8%, nipping at his heels is Chris Christie with 5%, Pence, Haley, 4%, Tim Scott at 2%.

So the big problem now, if you are Ron DeSantis, is how do I make my message and how do I recruit people from Ramaswamy to support me?

So DeSantis, it's not that he's going after Trump anymore.

Now he's going to have to take on Ramaswamy. and do not be surprised if ramaswamy's numbers continue to rise because he's been very effective getting out there on the campaign trail and connecting with voters he's running a very untraditional campaign and it's paying off for him right now let's go to the phones here scotty in georgia wdun our great affiliate there scotty what's your take on trump's support after that's for him 100 percent is that he's done don't drop is being railroaded what it boils down to under the biden doj everything's crooked scotty i i hear you and uh we appreciate you calling in that's a pretty rough phone connection there.

Sorry about that. But to Scotty's point, folks, I think the average American sees that Trump is being railroaded, as is Mark Meadows. And by the way, Meadows is speaking out. We're going to get you the latest on that coming up after the break here. But I think the average American, they see what's going on here.

And I believe even some Democrats might realize, hey, wait a second, they are crossing the line. There's no way, no way they should be treating Trump like this. But you look at what's happening every single time something bad comes out about Joe Biden or Hunter, they drop the hammer on Trump. And everybody sees that. Everybody.

I got a question for you.

Next week, the very first presidential debate in Milwaukee. Do you believe that Donald Trump should show up? A lot of people out there say, including yours truly, I believe that Trump needs to be there. But what say you? MSDNC says Trump will skip the debate because he's scared to death of Chris Christie.

I don't think Trump's afraid of anybody. I really don't. By the way, we still have no word on when Trump will surrender to the authorities in Atlanta. We're going to keep you updated on that. All right, got to take a break here.

Let's go right to the phones, 844-747-8868. 68 that big debate the very first republican presidential debate next week in milwaukee should donald trump go and a lot of people are saying do not go mr president i i think the president ought to show up well let's let's go to orland or let's go to georgia orlando is on the line orlando what say you uh good morning sir yes uh i'm behind donald trump 1000 and yes i do believe that he should go and um i also wanted to add all of the democrats that's in georgia i want georgia back republican these people are moved into georgia they don't if they don't like how we do things in georgia they need to move on and go somewhere else orlando what has happened in in your state where brian kemp and the secretary of state former lieutenant governor jeff duncan man they are just they do not like donald trump it's bullying i believe that they're scared of the the democratic era um they're bullying a lot of different people and it's going to get worse it seems like nothing is getting better without the republicans to back donald trump like they should. And I don't understand why. It's just crazy. It's almost like the Democrats have been scattered all over the United States and put in places just for a situation like what's going on right now.

Well, the problem with folks like Brian Kemp, who my understanding is has done a pretty good job as governor, but he and Donald Trump have locked horns and it is ugly and it's hurting the party and it's going to hurt this country. And I'm very disappointed in the way Brian Kemp and the others came out yesterday and attacked Donald Trump. And basically, they're aligning themselves now with the Fulton County District Attorney. But beyond that, Orlando, we actually have the proof, the evidence that there was voter fraud. Would it have changed the outcome of the election?

Well, that's what's up for debate. But for your governor to come out and say, no, we had no problems here in Georgia at all, That's just simply not true. Right. It's almost like someone sliding a little cash under the table and nobody's seeing what's going on. That does make you a lot of people that are scared right now.

Well, all right.

Well, I'm glad to hear. I'm glad to hear you're still on board the Trump train, Orlando. Appreciate you calling in. Let's go to Maryland. Victor on the line.

Hi, Victor. What say you? I changed my mind at first. Why should he debate now?

Now, maybe he should because he can tell the country what's being done to him, and he can speak out about all these charges against him. Also, if I were him, I wouldn't turn myself in. I would just say, you come and get me, you people in Atlanta. Come and get me. I dare you to.

I'm with you on that one. I know that I got a lot of blowback yesterday when I suggested that Trump should not go, because I do think it's a great big trap. And I know the president is a bold man. He is a courageous man, and he always wants to do the right thing. I mean, we have seen that time and time again.

And I think that he will show up and he will surrender. And the question is, what are they going to do to him? That's my only concern, Victor. What are they going to do to him once he's in custody yeah don't what scares the daylights out of me they may pull a kennedy on him oh you think you think that could happen that yeah you think they could physically harm the president yes why would you say that why why would what leads you to think that people hate him so much that um i got a neighbor walks by every day and talking on her phone and she said I wish someone would kill him. I mean, that's how crazy some of these Democrats really are.

You know, I was reading something on social media earlier today that there is concern that something could happen to Donald Trump, especially if he's able to beat these charges and he comes out unscathed that, you know, there could be someone who tries to do something. I mean, I wouldn't put it past him. But, I mean, you've got Kathy Griffin and all these other people out there with the severed heads, people on the record saying they want to assassinate Donald Trump.

So I don't know, Victor. Maybe that is something that we should be concerned about. Absolutely. I mean, you remember Madonna saying she had a dream about blowing up the White House with Trump in its thigh. That's true.

That's actually a great point, Victor. He's surrounded by security. And I will say this, and a lot of people may not be aware of this, Victor, but Donald Trump is the only president, former president, who still has his full Secret Service contingent.

So, in other words, the same number of Secret Service agents he had when he was in the White House, that's how many he has right now. And it's because of all the threats.

Well, you know, Biden tried to take the Secret Service away from him. That would have been foolish. All right, Victor, appreciate that call, and thank you for listening. 844-747-8868 is our number. I want to play some audio here.

So Ron DeSantis, after a lot of prodding, and this is my problem with DeSantis, people have to prod him to do the right thing.

So you had Vivek Ramaswamy out there right out of the gate just blasting the Fulton County DA the whole nine yards. then you've got ron desantis who hemmed and hawed finally released a very well-produced video response and i want you to listen to it and then i'll explain why this is just so bogus cut 11 so i haven't had a chance to read it all but i will tell you is atlanta has huge problems with crime right now and there has been an approach to crime which has been less than exacting i think there have been criminals that have let out that shouldn't have been let out. And so they're now doing an inordinate amount of resources to try to shoehorn this contest over the 2020 election into a RICO statute, which was really designed to be able to go after organized crime, not necessarily to go after political activity. And so I think it's an example of this criminalization of politics. I don't think that this is something that's good for the country.

But I think a lot of Republican voters are looking at some of the things that have happened, whether it's the Department of Justice, whether it is some of the things that have happened local. And I think the question is, OK, what are we going to do about it? And I've already said as president, you know, we are going to end the weaponization of federal agencies like the DOJ and FBI. We'll have a new director. We will have new leadership in the DOJ.

We're going to make sure that there's a single standard of justice in this country.

Now, in terms of some of these local DAs in Florida, we've actually suspended two, one in Tampa, one in Orlando over the last year for failure to follow their duties and responsibilities And as president we will lean in against some of these local prosecutors if they are not following the law or if they are abandoning their duty to enforce the law evenly So I think that I don't know how it's going to affect anything politically. For me, at the end of the day, it's about, you know, let's get this country in a good direction. We need to have confidence in our justice system again. But before we get there, you know, we need major, major accountability. What is he talking about?

Well, Atlanta's got a bad crime. What are you saying here, Governor DeSantis? Really, this is the problem with Ron DeSantis. He will not get to the point. He won't actually stand up and say, you know what, folks, I got to be, and he doesn't need to do a professionally polished in his office video.

What he needs to do is go out there, hold a press conference and say, hey, look, folks, look, I know that Donald Trump and I are not getting along right now. As a matter of fact, we're fighting like cats and dogs, and I get it. And we can talk about that at another time. But right now, we've got to set that aside. And I need to say something, not just as a Republican, but as an American citizen, that we are not some sort of a third world banana republic.

And we're not going to stand by and allow our former president, who did great things, to be thrown into jail. We're not going to stand by and allow the justice system to be radicalized and weaponized against conservatives. We're not going to tolerate that. And so we stand today in solidarity with Donald Trump and we're going to fight this. And if Donald Trump needs bail money, then by golly, we're going to do whatever we can to help him out.

That's what he should have said. As a matter of fact, I would love to have seen this. This could happen. Just imagine the scene. you've got Trump Force One gassed up ready to go in in Florida and every single Republican running for the White House right now they make it down there and they fly they get on board Trump Force One and they stand in solidarity with Donald Trump in Fulton County they get off the airplane together they're riding in the motorcade together they get out of the motorcade walk up the steps of the Fulton County Courthouse into the court, and they are standing there as character witnesses for Donald Johnson.

Could you imagine what sort of a statement that would make? And I don't even care. Look, you could be Asa Hutchinson. Nobody even knows that guy exists. You could be Asa Hutchinson.

And if you did that, you would have the admiration of every, every Republican. It doesn't matter if you're establishment. It doesn't matter if you're conservative or America first conservative, you would have everybody's respect. Let me just say, we're not playing games anymore, folks. This is the real deal.

And Ramaswamy and DeSantis and Haley and Scott Pence, all of them, Larry Elder, everybody needs to understand what's going on here. If they're going to do this to Donald Trump, You better believe they're going to come after you. That's why we have to stand in solidarity. Politics is politics. I get that.

This is not about politics. This is about the future of our country. And what kind of a country do we want?

So, yeah, I do think that the Republicans running, and I know what they're thinking, every fiber of their being right now, and they have these paid political consultants that are out there telling them, you've got to distance. yourself from Trump. You've got to get out there and you've got to condemn Donald Trump. No, no, no. Don't do that.

Do not fall into the trap. But I'm telling you right now, if I were Nikki Haley and all the others, I'd be picking up the phone saying, Donald Trump, we stand with you. We want to fly with you to Atlanta and we want to be there for you. We can fight the political battles another day. But this is beyond politics.

And quite frankly, you Democrats, you better wake up because here's what's going to happen. There will be payback. You heard Kimberly Guilfoyle yesterday on this radio program. There will be retribution coming to America. You better believe it.

You better believe it. All right. Let's go to Kathy in Oregon, listening to us on KYKN. Kathy, what's on your mind today? Hey, Todd.

I'm very concerned if he were to be arrested and they already said they're going to fingerprint him they're going to mugshot him and if they put him in jail what happens to secret service they can't leave him no they can't secret service and they will not and they will not so that in and of itself creates a big issue is what happens with the secret service and i also worry but i do worry about them him being harmed while he's in custody um i'm kind of worked up this morning sorry but um okay so they got away with killing epstein by the way they found the aliens before they found out who was on the list but anyway um so they killed him he didn't kill himself the the tapes were on the blank or whatever and the people were taking breaks or whatever didn't check on him for eight hours they got away with it so i'm just concerned that's all i'm just concerned i i think kathy you are i think it's right to i think it's right that you are concerned Keep in mind, though, that the president is surrounded by Secret Service, and they're not going to let up on that.

So the Secret Service, they're not going anywhere. But I think you're right to be concerned because of where we are in this country and the threats coming out of Hollywood. I truly believe that. Kathy, we've got to run. Appreciate the call.

Hang tight, everybody. We're going to get to your calls, 844-747-8868. This is the Todd Stern Show. No can do. When I grow up, I want to be obsessed with emotional safety and do workplace sensitivity training all day long.

When I grow up, I want to climb the corporate ladder just by following the crowd. I want to be a conformist. I want to weaponize my pronouns. What are pronouns? It's time to grow up and get back to work.

Introducing the number one woke-free job board in America, redballoon.org. All right, let's try to fit in a couple more calls. Can we do that before the top of the hour? Let's go to Memphis, Tennessee, my hometown, our flagship radio station, KWAM. Hey, Tariq, what's going on today?

Hey, how you doing, Mr. Starr? I'm doing well. Thank you for asking.

Well, you know, they were talking about these indictments that was handed down to Donald Trump by the attorney down in the state of Georgia. And as of lately, people have been talking about that. but I think that the only way that you can really give any credit to these indictments it would have been that Trump would have had to have won the state of Georgia and in having to win the state of Georgia he would have had to have he would have had to have stolen some of those votes but since Donald Trump didn't win the state of Georgia and since none of those votes were stolen it means that these so-called indictments have very little to do with anything and that it's much it's more of a much to do about nothing um bad this u.s attorney down in jordan and i and i do think that this u.s attorney did not act alone in handing down these indictments that that she was either instructed or influenced by someone in handing uh down these indictments so i i really do think that it's time for those people in the judicial system, and I'm talking about the prosecutors, the prosecuting attorneys, these defense attorneys, the lawyers and the judges in the judicial system, it's time for them to stand up and speak up and to really call these people out for who they are. Because it has more to do about preventing Trump, and I'm talking about those people who really care about the fate of this country it's time for those people to really stand up and speak out and call these people out for who they are but because it has more to do about preventing trump and winning this young election in 2024 more so uh than um than anything and tarik when the when the governor came out and said no there was no voting fraud there that was so disingenuous because they let it pass the date. They had 10 days to file any kind of objections or complaints, and they intentionally let that expire.

And we actually have our hands on actual affidavits from volunteers, people who were working the ballots. One of them, her name was Judy Aube of Roswell, Georgia, and she said that she observed many boxes of mail-in ballots being counted and these ballots they had voted 98 percent for Biden, 2 percent for Trump, and every single ballot appeared to be perfectly filled out as if it was pre-printed.

So there was a lot of suspicious activity going down, and I think it's incredibly disingenuous for the governor to come out and say, no voter fraud here. Tariq, we got to run. God bless you, sir, and thank you for listening to the program. Folks, hang tight. We're going to get to your calls coming up in the next hour.

That's right. I love this American ride. Todd Starnes. All right. Hello, everybody.

Welcome to the Todd Starnes radio program. You know, I was just thinking about something. Dylan, you know what we need? We need to get some Elvis music into the rotation today. Of course, Elvis Week coming to a conclusion here in Memphis where we base this national program.

and Elvis week is a big deal. You have thousands of Elvis fans every year that descend on Memphis, the Bluff City. Last night had a massive turnout for the annual candlelight vigil. And, of course, today is the day that we remember Elvis Presley died. And, you know, it's interesting.

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when word came down that Elvis had died.

Now, I grew up in Memphis and lived right across the state line in South Haven, Mississippi. We were on this little cul-de-sac, and I was outside playing, and I was riding on my big wheel. I was just a little fella. And all of a sudden, the neighbor, she comes running out. She just burst out of her home, and she's screaming and just weeping.

And my mom and several of the other moms in the neighborhood came rushing out. They said, what happened? What's going on? And she said, Elvis died. And then my mom and all the other moms started crying, and it was really, I mean, it's interesting how you remember those moments.

So anyway, we certainly remember the great king of rock and roll and certainly the impact he had on American culture and definitely Las Vegas. All right, so we've got a story here, and this is a doozy. We cover a lot of culture war stories on this program. Clarksville, Tennessee, they sent their teachers to a cultural competency class. The whole staff, everybody had to go.

And the staff, they went to this workshop, and it's supposed to promote diversity and equity and inclusion, and that normally means they exclude all you Christians, white people, and heterosexuals. And they provided a nifty chart that listed all the oppressed peoples. That would be transgender, Hindu people, Muslims, women, and pagans. that's the first I've heard of pagans making the list. Then you've got, on the privileged charts, you've got your whites, your cisgender people, and I believe that's straight people, and you've got your Christians and your men.

Teachers were also told to stop using words like mommy and Christmas because that might traumatize the children.

Well, here to talk about all of this is the person who exposed it, Karen England is president of Capital Resources Institute and Take Back the Classroom. That website, by the way, takebacktheclassroom.com. Karen, hope you're doing well today. I'm doing great. Thanks for having me, Todd.

All right, this one's a head-scratcher. I know it's even got Congressman Mark Green riled up. I know he fired off a letter. What's going on here in this school district?

Well, apparently a lot of leftism and progressivism is going on. one clarification teachers weren't mandated to go this was one of those trainings that they put on every year that if you have to get additional training you go to it well my husband who used to be a california school teacher is going back to teach at a bible at a private school and so he went to this training and so um even though tennessee state law says crt is illegal to be doing they did this training they did it talking about restorative justice and it's funny when you did the intro, Todd, and you were talking about cisgender, my husband came home, and you and I have known each other for a long time, so I'm in this world all the time, cisgender, and he was like, Karen, what does cis mean? Like, he was like, what does that mean? You know, they were talking about it today, and he was like, this is just crazy. This was the ongoing training to equip our teachers for classrooms.

And it was presented by two Clarksville-Montgomery County counselors.

So that's kind of a position of authority in the way kind of Tennessee schools work. And they're the ones that are called in kind of over when there's something going on in the classroom.

So they have a little bit of authority.

So for them to be presenting this as this is how we do things in Clarksville was just outrageous.

So a couple of new things. First of all, I didn't realize pagans made the oppression list. That's a new one for me. Yes, yes, and my husband was surprised. He is getting a new hip, and he can't hear, so he's not quite the oppressor that he thought he was, But yeah, it was a shock to him that this is how he is viewed in the district of Clarksville-Montgomery school system and other Christian teachers.

I've heard from teachers all over that were livid over this.

Now, Congressman Green, who is a Republican, and he represents that area in Congress, he said the district is indoctrinating kids with pseudo-history and radical social justice theories. He said that schools ought to be teaching the fundamentals like reading, writing, and arithmetic. And I'm wondering, is this something that is isolated just to Clarksville, Tennessee, or are you seeing this happening in other districts? Oh, unfortunately, I'm seeing it in other districts. And I'm thankful he's our congressman.

And even though this is not a federal issue, I'm really thankful that he weighed in because no other official, no school board member, no one else is trying to hold this school district accountable.

So I'm very thankful for the congressman doing that. But we are finding this in Williamson County, Chattanooga. Todd, I'm shocked coming from California how many shenanigans and the deception school boards are involved in in a red state and in red counties. I mean, I'm right outside of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and I'm shocked. Our school board meetings last about 15 minutes because it's all a rubber stamp for whatever the district wants.

Really?

So are you finding that in many of these places, and we're talking Tennessee here, which you're right, is a rock-solid red state. There's a super majority of Republicans in the statehouse. But on the school board level, would you say maybe the liberals seem to control the school districts?

Well, they control it. And then in the larger school districts, I just found out recently that apparently our local school district years ago told the director of schools they get to make all the policies and they get to make all the decisions.

So like with the library books, when the state came out with a mandate for the board to create a policy, our board didn't create it. The director of schools created it. And it never even saw the light of day at the school board level. I mean, it's the craziest thing. And do you know when I moved here three years ago, we were not allowed to speak at a school board meeting.

What? We were not allowed to. I was calling Tom Fitton. I was calling everybody I knew saying, how can this be? Because, again, coming from California.

Well, at that time, the law has changed a little bit. But at that time, until this last year, there was no state mandate. You are allowed to attend a school board meeting, but it was up to the district to allow you to speak or not. And our school district was not letting us speak. We finally got that changed.

And then the law came along and said you have to at least let them speak once during the month. All right. So this is insane. And by the way, Karen England, president of Capital Resources Institute, take back the classroom dot com is the Web site.

So, Karen, what's the whole point of this? You send the teachers to these classrooms. It's voluntary. What do they do with with what they're being told? Does that go into the classroom?

Oh, absolutely. It does. I actually have an audio from, there were a couple of teachers in this that weren't happy about it. And I have the audio where, you know, we're wondering, you hear about all this school violence and teachers are afraid. And this isn't just Tennessee, but all over.

And they are actually talking in this workshop about restorative justice. And I kid you not, she says, when the student throws a desk across the room, it's important to ask him what he was feeling. and then ask him how it made his classmates feel and then ask him to reconcile with his classmates. That is what they're teaching our kids and our teachers to do.

So instead of suspending the students so the other kids can feel safe and learn, they're doing all of this feel-good restorative justice. And those are the words they use. Those are the words the counselors at Clarksville-Montgomery School District used in this training. This is why teachers across the nation are not feeling safe. Karen, you've got to send us that audio This is just outrageous I'm curious, where does all of this stand?

I know the congressman has gotten involved now Are you guys making any sort of headway here and putting a stop to this nonsense? We absolutely are trying We have contacted all of our legislators the author of the original CRT bill in Nashville and we are asking them to hold their feet to the fire that Clarksville is out of control, and it's time that they start listening to their constituents and not to their progressive educrats. All right. This is just insane. And again, I think especially in red states, people need to understand that there is still a lot going on.

And behind the scenes, under the water, you've got all of this radicalized training happening, and that will eventually turn a red state blue, Karen. Oh, absolutely. And you mentioned our website, Take Back the Classroom. That's where we show by school district, and we've got several states up there. We're adding states every day.

But you can go see the books in Tennessee schools. And we're not talking about Of Mice and Men. We're talking about X-rated books. We actually have excerpts from them. And the schools in Tennessee, even though there was a law, once again, a law about this, Clarksville is not paying any attention to the law, and this stuff is really graphic.

and we're paying for it with our tax dollars. It's happening everywhere. Red states, just like Texas, they are focusing on Tennessee. And we need to make sure, a lot of people complain because I'm from California, but I'm the one trying to sound the alarm. I'm seeing how California is coming here.

I came here because I wanted to get away from California policies.

So it's important that we get active and we reclaim our schools and our state because the left has a target on it.

Well, Karen, good work. You keep us updated. And, of course, welcome to the Volunteer State. And if you see anything happening in the Memphis schools, you let us know. We'll be all over that.

I will. I will. I will. All right. Karen England, everybody, president of Capital Resources Institute, the website.

Check this out, takebacktheclassroom.com. Thanks a lot, Karen. Thank you. Oh, my word. No, it is believable.

We cover these stories all the time here. Teachers were told that using words like mommy, like, can you take this home to your mommy? Or what you got planned for Christmas?

So they say words like mommy and Christmas could traumatize the children.

So they're telling the teachers, don't use those words. But it seems to me, if you're a pagan, we want you to be oppressed, right? It's as if that's a bad thing, I suppose. Anyway, the problem here is the schools in your red state, and you may not even be aware of this, ladies and gentlemen, but the schools in your red state, and we are deep red here or bright red in Tennessee, they are actually raising up a generation of social justice fundamentalists under your very noses. And by the time you figure this out, your state, your red state could be blue.

And you just ask good people over in North Carolina how things are going. All right, we're going to take a break here. 844-747-8868. We're going to the phone lines. 844-747-8868.

This is the Todd Stern Show. You've spoken and we've heard you loud and clear. We're proud to announce our brand new ACLJ Life and Liberty Drive. Our legal teams will be focusing on the issues that you've told us matter the most to you, life and religious liberty. We're redoubling our efforts to beat back the radical left's attacks on your constitutional religious freedoms and to defend the sanctity of human life.

This is your moment to get in the fight. Every tax-deductible gift will be doubled. Go to ACLJ.org right now and join us in the fight. Well, apparently, there's a big problem over in Italy. Or if you're from Mississippi, these Italians, these Italians, they're being accused of bigotry.

So there are a group of Italians very upset. They're in Italy, not here, in Italy. And the Italians are very upset, and they've been accused of being racist and bigots. And here's the reason why. There is a video circulating on social media that shows a newly arrived migrant in Italy.

And, of course, they were hungry. And so the migrant said, well, we've got to eat something, and I guess maybe they didn't have a lot of money.

So they went out, and right there on the sidewalk in what looks to be a very nice neighborhood in Italy, they found a cat. and they decided to build a fire. They caught the cat and then they, it looks like they grilled the cat. And so the migrants are sitting there and they are having a pretty darn good time, right? I mean, they're in a brand new country.

They've got an open fire and they're sitting there and they're eating a cat. And what's really sad is, you know, if you've seen a cat that's dead, the rigor mortis sets in pretty quickly. and the poor cat is on this flame that i'm watching here and the cat is they put the cat back down there so it's the backside is down and so the little paws are sticking up in the air it's terrible i the italian woman i don't speak italian so i'm not quite sure what she's saying but i think it may have been her cat you killed guido well i guess that's what they call cats in i don't know if it's if it was in the south i would have said baba but you killed baba but you no oh would you would you like a leg no i'll just have a salad please a salad i'm trying to come back i'm on a diet a feline free diet uh let's go to the phones here 844-747-8868 patty in north carolina hey patty what's going on i am one riled up italian okay are you italian patty i don't you don't think i'm i'm hey i live in north carolina you can't do what you can't tell the way i talk todd come on now i all i was going to say patty is that i need to send this so you can interpret what this woman is saying i don you know what let me tell you something i don know you can make this stuff up anymore i just i can you you wake up every day you don know what's it's crazy we live in a bizarre world it's terrible and you know what i'm gonna say something as long as the clintons aren't around the prison i'm pretty sure trump will be okay oh he's going to be great you know um there was a movie oh what was it uh goodfellas maybe where they're all in goodfellas yeah when they're all in prison but the the mob bosses they get their own private rooms and so they're making the steaks they're grilling the steaks that's very true because i grew up i grew up well i'm not going to go there but i grew up in jersey city new jersey so you know take it from there todd you know patty in my neighborhood in brooklyn we actually i lived right around the corner from the from they call it the the italian friends club and i asked somebody i said oh what's what's that all about they said don't ask any questions don't ask any i'm like all right okay so anyway it's i didn't ask any questions what do i gotta i gotta get to the christy thing chris christy better shut his he you talk about corruption i was in jersey with the bridge gate and i was in jersey when when he was on the beach you know when that when the whale was on the beach with his family while we were all locked down and you want to know something people went to jail for chris christie come on trump i agree with that gentleman i want you to debate chris christie just alone i would love to see i would i would love to see that happen i think that would be great you know patty i think he would put go ahead i think he would put christie right in his place. And so I'm a happy guy. Same here.

And same here in Memphis, Governor. It's been very nice.

So they call it fake fall.

So we think the heat is coming, but we're going to enjoy it while we can.

Well, we sure will. One thing that has not gone a little bit on the cool side is the temperature toward Donald Trump by these persecutors, otherwise known as prosecutors, who I guess, you know, are going to have to keep manufacturing new indictments because every time there's a bad revelation about Joe Biden and his boy Hunter and the 20 plus million dollars they've been getting from foreign governments to influence pedal. The moment those kind of pieces of information drop, here comes another round of indictments on Donald Trump. And it's, you know, it's getting to the point you think, don't they have at least a little bit of variation in their strategy. It's just a little obvious, I think.

You know, Governor, it's fascinating because it seems like every time we have an indictment come down, the president's polling numbers go up. We have not seen, we haven't seen a new poll since the latest indictment, but there is a new national poll out, and that was taken before the Fulton County announcement came down. And President Trump now leading by what he has 60 percent of the vote nationally among Republicans. I thought it was interesting, though, Vivek Ramaswamy is actually jumping into that second place now, and Rod DeSantis is dropping into the single digits. What is it about Donald Trump that is appealing to people out there?

I think they know he's a fighter. You know, some of the candidates are saying, look, I have a great record, and people are saying, we don't care. We don't care what you have done. We care of what you're going to do. And people know what Donald Trump did get done as president.

He brought down inflation. Gas prices were the lowest they've been in years. We saw the first time of a president since Ronald Reagan that didn't get us in a shooting war, that had other foreign governments, our enemies, scared of him. And so they didn't want to try anything, nothing stupid like invading Ukraine like Putin has done. You know, you could list a whole lot of things that Donald Trump got right.

He cut taxes. He brought real money into the pockets and paychecks of working class Americans. African-Americans had the lowest unemployment in the history of this country. More people were working and working for better wages. And so, you know, we were in a pretty good run there under Donald Trump, and people know that.

But he is hated by the deep state. And Todd, I hope your listeners fully understand what's going on here. They hate him because he's not obligated to them. He doesn't play their game. He doesn't march to their drumbeat.

And that scares the ever-living daylights out of the D.C. swamp rats who have grown accustomed to being able to get whatever they want out of the government, be it Democrat or Republican. And that's why some of the Republicans are so adamantly opposed to Donald Trump, is because he upsets their playhouse as well. Governor, I'm curious to get your take on what the Republican field should do at this point. And again, I know this is politics, but I think for something like this, and as you just pointed out, this is about the deep state.

And it just seems to me that for a moment, at least, they need to put politics aside. All the Republican candidates come together and say, we're just not going to stand for this.

Well, that would be a brilliant move. And that's exactly what Vivek Ramaswamy has done and look what's happening to his support. It's skyrocketing. Nobody knew who he was. He's not a politician.

He's never run for office before. You know, he's a guy that wrote a book about wokeness and its danger to America. Very smart guy and a brilliant business guy that made several hundred millions of dollars in business, but not a political figure. And all of a sudden he's catapulted into second place in the Republican primary. And what he hasn't done that which Chris Christie and others have enjoyed doing is attacking a member of their own team.

He's not gone after Donald Trump. He said he would pardon him. He says what's happening to Donald Trump is horrible. He's made it very clear that despite the fact that he's also running for president, he doesn't want to surpass Donald Trump because Donald Trump has been disabled by a bunch of partisan Democrat wolves. He wants to do it the old fashioned way by beating him in election.

people respect that and they see in him much of what they saw in donald trump a person who is getting there on his own without all of the handouts from the lobbyist class and the donor class in dc and people like that they respond to it and they need someone who will go to washington and be obligated only to the people who voted for them and not to the donor class that feel like they own every politician in that evil city. Governor Mike Huckabee on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. And again, it's taking the focus and shame on the mainstream media. We know what they're doing here, but they ought to be covering this scandal involving the Biden family, this crime syndicate. Every single time something comes out that that cast light on that, they drop the hammer on Donald Trump?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that when the next round of information falls on Joe Biden and his boy Hunter, what we're going to see is another round of indictments on Donald Trump or somebody who worked for him or who had a phone call with him or who bumped into him, you know, at a Subway sandwich shop somewhere. This is insane. And I just would love for the media to one day wake up in the world of reality and say, you know, we're losing our country when it becomes a police state. When the person who is president sicks the Justice Department under his control on his likely opponent in the 2024 election and the person that was his opponent in the 2020 election and says to all the powers of the police and the federal government, go take this guy down because I don't think I can beat him, but maybe we will disable him by crippling him with a bunch of criminal indictments. That's what's going on.

And I just wish more Republicans would recognize this. And I agree with you that the other candidates ought to rally to Donald Trump, not to support him for president. Look, I don't expect them to end their campaigns, but to say that none of us as candidates against Donald Trump want Donald Trump to be pulled out of the race by these nonsensical criminal indictments. We want to just go out there and get in the ring with him. And if we win, we win.

If we lose, we lose. But we don't want our country turned into the police state like East Germany and turn the Justice Department into the Stasi. You see, Governor, I just think if Ron DeSantis would do something like that, it would be a it would be a new day for his campaign. But for him to come out and put that statement out yesterday where he talked about, you know, he was talking about the indictment by talking about Atlanta crime and not even mentioning President Trump's name. I mean, come on.

And, you know, a political operative is telling him, okay, this is how you need to respond. I think with this, something like this, you got to go with your gut and say, you know what, folks, we're going to do politics another day, but this is something we've got to talk about as American citizens. And I'm with you. I think it changes the game for everybody who does that. I think it does too, Todd.

And what it does, it says to the Democrats and the media that we're not fools. We're not pretending that this is all legitimate prosecution. We see what's happening. And it will also signal that all these other candidates recognize that if they are able to disable and dismantle Donald Trump's campaign, the next Republican who steps up and is in the number one slot, just sit back and watch. They're going to get indicted.

They're going to get criminalized for their basic First Amendment expressions of free speech and freedom of belief. What Donald Trump is being criminally charged with is nothing like a crime. And I'm not trying to pretend to be a constitutional scholar, but I'm quoting some like Alan Dershowitz and Jonathan Turley and other people who are constitutional scholars, who are Democrats, who have never and will never vote for Donald Trump. But they see this as a clear and present danger to a constitutional republic. And they're calling out and saying something is terribly wrong when people are criminalizing an individual's free speech.

Stacey Abrams questioned the results of her governor's election in Georgia. She's not being criminally charged with anything. Hillary Clinton believed Donald Trump rigged the election, stole it from her. she's not under indictment. And my gosh, there's plenty of things we probably could dig around with and find to indict her over.

But that's not happening because this is not a justice system. This is an injustice system, and it's targeted toward people who believe in America first. Fair enough. Real quick before we let you go, Governor, here in Memphis, wrapping up Elvis Week, and of course, last night, thousands of people turning out for the candlelight vigil. And of course, today is the day that Elvis Presley died.

And we were talking about where we were. And I remember I was just a little fella on my big wheel in South Haven, Mississippi, when we heard the news. But I'm curious, what is it about Elvis that brings people to Memphis so many years later? It's really remarkable.

Well, it is. And there's never been quite a figure like him who embodied so much of the passion of really working class Americans. That was one of his, I think, keys that he was able to relate, but he also was a phenomenal talent. He had abilities and capacities to entertain that just few people have ever been born with. He was a force of nature.

And the amazing thing is his estate now makes more money. um you know here we are what 45 years after his death um we met the states makes more money now than he did at any point in his career while he was alive and that says a lot about the lasting quality of his talent his energy and his influence not just on entertainment but on overall culture that sure does all right governor we really appreciate it and big show coming up saturday we do have a great show james comer who heads the oversight committee in congress and has been fearlessly pursuing the bank records of joe biden's family he's going to be our main guest and so i don't think you ought to miss this uh conversation with james comer all right the great governor mike huckabee governor always good hearing from you take care my friend all right thanks a lot governor mike huckabee right there got a little choked up folks uh gotta take a break We'll be right back. All right, folks, let's get right to those phones. We're going to start in Jackson, Tennessee. By the way, that is the Rockabilly Headquarters of America right there.

The Rockabilly Hall of Fame is there as well. Pastor Gary listening to us on 93.1 FM. Hi, Pastor. What's on your mind today? Good afternoon, Todd.

It is also home to the best country buffet that you will ever find at Casey Jones Village. All right. Now, the old country store. And, Pastor, I don't know if it's still all you can eat, but I put a hurting on the fried chicken buffet once. Come on.

Come on back. Come on back. It's great food. I love the Casey. And do they still have the Casey Jones Village there?

Absolutely. And it's growing. Is that right? They're doing a lot of work to it. Yeah, they're growing.

They're getting ready to put a drive-through in, and they're expanding some of the areas for the inside. They've expanded with some baked chicken, some smoked chicken. They are doing all kind of different things. They've got different menus every day on the buffet.

Now, Pastor Gary, just so people – you can describe this, and I will do justice, but it's basically, it was kind of like one of the original Cracker Barrels before Cracker Barrel became homogenized. I mean, this is a good old-fashioned country store, restaurant, buffet, right off the interstate. Yeah, you can get everything. You can get a Cracker Barrel and some when you go to the old country store. Man, I'm telling you, they serve it up right.

They've got T-shirts. They've got jewelry. They've got an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. I've had that ice cream. It's cool.

Oh, man, I'm telling you, Todd, you need to come on back to Jacksonville. All right. I'll preach at a lunch or dinner. I love that. It's great.

If you're on I-40, it's worth getting off. Just look for the red caboose, right? You've got an actual caboose there. All right. Exit ADA and take a right.

I love it. All right, Pastor, what's going on? We're talking food and lunch. Yeah, well, you know, if it's a preacher, you've got to have some food in there somewhere. You know what I'm saying?

True. But anyhow, the reason for my call today is we've been working here in Jackson with a group of folks, a whole team of people. It was actually started with a group called We the People of West Tennessee. And they got a group of people together to go to our public library and start looking at the books, the selections of the books in the public library. and they were astonished to find some really crude materials in there that were written for 10 and 11 year old kids.

And these books, I put it side by side with a penthouse or playboy any day. And I would say that, you know, the thing that the schools and our library and our society look at is they say, well, if it's got educational value or if it's got artistic value, then it's good for our kids.

Well, a 10-year-old, especially in one book, Todd, and I don't know if you're familiar with it or not, but it's called It's Perfectly Normal. And it is one of the worst books, I think, that's in publication today. And every page has got illustrations of same-sex and how-tos and what-to-dos all through this book. And it's outrageous. And it's in the library across our country.

one of the best sellers as they say um but as a 10 year old kid when i was 10 years old when i got exposed to books of this nature which would have been playboy or penthouse or cherry or one of those i wasn't looking at the articles i was looking at the pictures and the pictures is what drives the change in the mindset and rewires the brain of an adolescent they're not sure enough But is there some sort of middle ground? Because I guess it's a public library, and if you're an adult, should those books be available in the public library if they're for adults, or do they have any place at all in the public library? Look, we live in a country where we are surrounded by freedoms, and the library is no different. my my my issue is not with what adults are reading my issue is what is pushing is being pushed into the mindsets to change the mindsets of our children that's fair you know i don't have a problem with them leaving the books in the library under a strict guideline and strict rules that this is only for adults and only adults can have them now if adult takes them out and wants to provide it for their children. That's their business.

But for our places where our kids are supposed to be protected and feel safe, feeling safe and being protected is more than physical. It's more than just physical protection with a security guard there. It's protecting our minds of our kids.

So we fought with that with our libraries. Originally, they said, we're not moving them. We're not doing anything. We've only got about 30 seconds. We've got about 30 seconds.

So what happened here?

Okay, so we went to the school libraries as well, Jackson-Madison County School System, and to the public library, and they have agreed to remove the books and get the books out of the kids' sight. The school system has not only removed the books, but they are destroying the books in the total county. And so we count that as a huge win that we've been fighting since February and March.

Well, congratulations, Pastor, and that's the way to do it. Get involved and get engaged in the political process. And when people of faith do that, when patriots do that, good things happen.

So, Pastor, congratulations. And I want you to give us a call back. Let us know how things are going. And I'm going to take you up on lunch. Casey Jones Village.

It's a lot of fun, especially if you have small kids. I mean, we would, man, whenever we would do the big Stearns family vacation to Opryland, which used to be in Nashville, now it's a big mall, we would always stop at the Casey Jones Village loved the trains. It's a lot of fun. All right, folks, hang tight. Hour three of the big show coming up.

This is the Todd Starnes program. Live from the Liberty University studio in Memphis, Tennessee, It's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starnes. That's us. That's right. I love this American ride.

All right. By the way, we're going to get to your calls here momentarily. Welcome. Hour three of the big show. We're expecting our good buddy Charles Thorngren to join us.

And I can't wait for that conversation. I was talking a few days ago about Michael Orr, the former NFL player and who was the star of The Blind Side. He was the subject of that movie, The Blind Side, which is a great, great movie. And now, according to the reports out there, Michael Orr filing papers saying that the whole thing was a lie and that he's wanting money from the Tuohys. That's the Memphis family that took him in, Sean and Leanne Tuohy.

And it's an ugly story. And the way it was presented is that they took advantage of Michael. They declared him or they entered him into a conservativership with the Tuohy family. And he claims that he never got any money from the Blindside movie, which was way back in 2009. And so anyway, Sean Toohey is speaking out and he's saying, well, yeah, he was too old to be adopted.

And I think the problem here is as you try to unravel this story, and it's really a shocking story and the allegations are shocking. But then you have to step back and realize something. This was everything we know about Michael Orr and everything we know about the Tui family. We learned from the movie, which was adapted from a book.

So we're not talking about the way things happen in movies, not exactly the way things happen in real life. And we have seen that time and time again. And when you're watching TV and this was based on a true life story, which means all of the things that happened did not necessarily happen. But the gist of it did that the Tui family saw Michael and they brought him in and really claimed him as one of their own. And now it's all unraveling.

And a lot of people are wondering what's going on.

So here's what you need to know about the Tui family, because this is important. And I've spoken to a lot of people who know them and know them very well. By the way, I believe the daughter is married to someone within the FedEx family, Fred Smith's family, the guy who started FedEx.

So we're talking about a very wealthy family.

So the Tuohys, by the way, owned a lot of Taco Bell franchises. I think it was every Taco Bell in the Mid-South they owned. and he recently sold all of the stores for several hundred million dollars.

So the two E's are very well off, and they really didn't need whatever money they were going to get from this movie, which was not a lot of money, even though the movie did very, very well. I think $300 million. But the family, they didn't get all of that money. They didn't get a chunk of it because that's just not the way the TV business or the movie business operates. Anyway, there's a lot to unravel.

But basically, now they're saying this is yet another example of racism where you have rich white people taking advantage of a poor black kid. And I don't think that's what's going on here. And it seems like this may be another Colin Kaepernick situation.

So Michael Orr is 37, 38 years old. I don't know why now all of a sudden this has become an issue. But it's become an issue. And the Tui family is saying, look, they're hoping this could all be resolved, but they're not guilty of what they have been accused of. As a matter of fact, the family lawyers, and now people are upset.

Well, you know they're guilty because they got a lawyer.

Well, yeah, they got a lawyer because somebody's out there accusing them of doing horrible things. Of course they have a lawyer.

so Marty Singer is the Tui family lawyer and he did an interview with the Daily Memphian and he said there is more to this story they're saying that Michael Orr had previously demanded money from the Tui's and he threatened to make similar claims so in other words you're going to pay me this money or I'm going to go and I'm going to say things about you to the press and the attorney said look The idea that the Tuohys ever sought to profit off Michael Orr is not only offensive, it's transparently ridiculous. The Tuohys, through hard work and good fortune, made an extraordinary amount of money in the restaurant business, which they did. The notion that a couple worth hundreds of millions of dollars would connive to withhold a few thousand dollars in profit participation payments from anyone, let alone from someone they loved as a son defies belief. Oh, by the way, Michael Orr's attorney is now suddenly unavailable for comment.

Well, they had no problems talking earlier in the week.

so sean too we again saying we just we didn't do any of this and the reason why they did the conservativership instead of adoption is because michael was too old to be adopted there was a legality here he also said quote we were so concerned that it was on the up and up that we made sure the biological mother came to court and now the claim is that michael or went to the twoies and get this demanded 15 million dollars from the family and if they did not pay 15 million dollars that he threatened to plant a negative story in the media by the way the twoies have apparently offered michael or money from the film so it's a sad situation here but it certainly does look like we're dealing with another colin kaepernick situation where you know you have an adoption or you you bring somebody into your home you raise them, you clothe them, you give them things, you provide an education, you get them off to college and set them up with the life skills they need to succeed. And then they turn around and they screw you. And that's unfortunate. That is truly unfortunate. Because from what I've heard, the Tui family, nothing but good and decent and good-natured people.

So I just want you to hear the other side of this, and you're not going to hear that in the national media because the narrative has already been set. But there's a lot that we don't know and we probably shouldn't know about, but it's an ugly, ugly story, and I don't think it's going to go away anytime soon. All right, 844-747-8868 is our phone number. That's 844-747-8868. All right, what are we looking at here indictment number four and now newsmax is conducting another urgent national poll and we want to know if you believe and again i just gonna this is the newsmax poll We asking Americans if President Trump committed real crimes or if this is just a political witch hunt And we need to know your opinion.

We want to know your opinion. And we also want to know if you're still voting for Donald Trump.

So you can vote right now in the Newsmax poll by texting the word skip to 39747. Again, that is skip to 39747. Takes just a few minutes to let your voice be heard. text skip to 39 747 we are going to share the results of this poll directly with congress with the media and also on newsmax america's fastest growing cable news channel you can find newsmax on all cable systems and if your system does not carry newsmax we'll give them a call and say i want newsmax and be sure to vote now and text skip to 39 747 all right let's head over to the phone lines we've got a lot of folks wanting to weigh in today 844-747-8868 fred in georgia listening to us on wdyn hi fred what's on your mind today hey todd uh i tell you man i'm just frustrated what's going on in georgia and i just want the people of georgia to know that kemp is a liar he's a crook he ought to be recalled uh i would like for him to stand up in front of the American people with that video that we all saw of the ballots being put out from under the table, the Republican observer being forced to leave. I would like him to explain what we're all seeing in that video.

I'd like him to stand next to it and explain what we all saw. And then as far as the machines that he would not allow to be checked out, 14,500 ballots were thrown out of those machines in the state of Georgia that Rassenberger decided he was going to count.

Now, when a machine throws a ballot out, it means there's something wrong with it. Yeah, you know, Fred, none of this has made sense to me. And when you look at the actual facts here, and the facts are that there was wrongdoing, there was something going on at some of those ballot locations. I think Rasmussen Reports even has evidence of that. And CBS News was reporting how one of the polling stations had to shut down because, what was it, a bathroom toilet or something overflowed?

Yeah, that was on the video. That's the excuse they used to get the observer out of the room. And even the lady that was feeding those ballots in, she actually blew the whistle and came clean.

So, you know, and this is what gets me. You know, Governor Kemp could really man up right now, and he has the power to stop this that's going on right now with Trump. Trump helped him get elected, for God's sake. You know, I don't understand what the hell's going on with these coward Republicans. This man helped him get elected, and he is stabbing him in the back.

He is lying to the people of Georgia. And as far as I'm concerned, Kip and Ratzenberger are the ones that are facilitating and involved in this plot to keep him from getting reelected? Because Kemp could man up right now and stop this, but he won't do it because he knows he's a liar. And if anybody thinks that Trump is going to get a fair shake in Georgia, even if he becomes the nominee, do you think Kemp and Ratzenberger is going to let him win this state? Because if they do, you know, if he pulls off Georgia, it's going to make them look like even more criminal than what they really are.

Well, as a matter of fact, Fred, going back to back when Tucker Carlson was on Fox News, he spent almost six or seven minutes doing an entire segment laying out the evidence of voter fraud there.

So for Kim to come out and say, no voter fraud here, nothing to see, no one raised an official complaint. Those are just flat-out lies. And we've got to call him out on it. And I'm with you. This was an opportunity and a missed opportunity for the governor to do the right thing.

and shame on him. Fred, we've got to run here. I am late for a break. 844-747-8868 is our phone number. We'll be right back.

All right, let's go to the phones here. Salem, Oregon. Greg listening to us on KYKN today. Hi, Greg. What's going on?

Oh, I just got to throw in my two bits, but, you know, as usual, Mike Huckabee does a better job of it than anybody else can, so I'm just a follower. But what I was going to say was that anyone who thinks Donald Trump is the problem here is a fool. Anyone who thinks that removing Donald Trump will fix any of the problems facing the country today is a fool. the treatment they're giving Trump is what they will give them to and if any of the Republican candidates and congressional Republicans who won't stand up to this tyranny for their own political gain then they surely won't stand up for us the silence and lack of support of these top Republicans is screaming loud and clear They're gutless, spineless, limp-wristed, thumb-sucking bedwetters.

Well, I love how you describe it there, Craig. I'm not finding anything to object to with what you just said there. Yeah, all the Republicans, all the people that I know, I mean, we all feel exactly like what I just said.

So it's so clear what's going on here. I mean, a blind man can see this, and I'm more amazed at supposed conservatives and Republicans that can't see that and want everything to just go back the way that it was. was, and they think that if we have a Mr. Rogers in the White House, then everybody's going to come together, and everybody's just going to be happy when, in fact, what we really need is Dirty Harry. That's it.

You're right, and we do need Dirty Harry. Greg, appreciate that call, and thank you for listening today. I want to go back to some audio here. This is Fox News, and they did a pretty good job of outlining the timeline here and comparing the Hunter Biden investigations, when they dropped, and when the Trump indictments dropped. Take a listen.

This week and on the same day that another big story was breaking about the Hunter Biden probe, raising quite a few eyebrows about the timing of all of this.

So let's break down the timeline of Trump's indictments versus the key developments in the Hunter saga.

So let's start in New York City this March. Look at this. Biden family and the laptop revelations versus Trump's indictments.

So this is the first indictment. March 16th, the House Oversight Committee reveals that Biden family payments from this Chinese energy company. We'll look at this. Two days later, Trump says he's going to be indicted in New York. He wrote that on social media.

Then April 4th, the Manhattan D.A., Alvin Bragg, indicts Trump in that hush money case. This is right after we find out about all this money from the energy company. OK, so that is New York City. Let's go to Florida. This is in June.

The bribery allegations and the plea deals versus Trump's second indictment.

So these are the classified documents, Mar-a-Lago stuff.

So on June 7th, the FBI releases the documents alleging that the Bidens took the $10 million bribe from Burisma. Remember the owner of Burisma caught in the coffee shop saying $5 million for one Biden, $5 million for another. Then the very next day, look at this, Jack Smith indicts Trump in the Mar-a-Lago document case. Then on July 26th, that's the Hunter Biden sweetheart deal that's rejected. The very next day, July 27th, Jack Smith adds more charges in the Mar-a-Lago case.

Let's slap some more charges to that. All right. So then in July, let's go to D.C. Devin Archer interview versus Trump's third indictment.

So this was the January 6th stuff. July 31st, Devin Archer testifies that Joe Biden was on 20 plus phone calls with his son's business partners. The very next day, Jack Smith indicts Trump for the January 6th case. Coincidence? We don't know.

You decide. All right, now let's go to Georgia. This happened recently, the last few days, FBI agent transcript versus Trump's fourth indictment.

So in the morning, on August 14th, GOP releases the transcripts from this FBI agent involved in the Hunter Biden investigation. And it has it happens to coincide with what the whistleblower was saying, that they someone tipped off the Secret Service, tipped off Hunter Biden. He was never interviewed.

So their stories are very similar.

So then on August 14th, that same day, later in the afternoon or that night and that evening, Fulton County D.A. Fonnie Willis charges Trump and 18 others in the Georgia 2020 election probe. You have the facts. You make you make up your mind. There you go.

I mean, look, they did a fine job here. I mean, there's no disputing this. You know, one coincidence, OK, but four, I don't think so. I don't think so. All right.

This story is fascinating. Caleb Park, our managing editor, just posted this over on the website.

So this boycott against Target, which has not been as heavily promoted as the Bud Light Anheuser-Busch boycott, Man, is this thing having an impact? Of course, a lot of people protesting because of Target's gay pride collection targeting young children. The new numbers are out. The company's second quarter sales took a hit in June and July. It is the first slump in six years.

Target's shares have fallen 16% so far this year. And the CEO says, yeah, we get it. it's the negative reaction to the pride collection. And they're saying that's what caused it. The question is, have they learned their lesson?

And that is ultimately the bigger question. All right, we've got to take a break here. 844-747-8868. Any of you folks out there boycotting Target, I'd love to hear from you if you are. All right, we'll be right back, everybody.

All right, welcome back, everybody. Happy to have you with us today. This is the Todd Stern's radio show. By the way, have you been over to the Todd Stern's show merch section? Yeah, we got merch.

That's what the young people call it these days. We used to call it the store. Anyway, we've got a lot of great stuff for you to check out there, including our awesome coffee mug collection. As you know, Obama said many years ago, he said people who cling to their guns and religion are bitter. And that really inspired me to come up with a brand-new coffee mug called Blessed Not Bitter.

And you're going to love it. It's a great coffee mug, and it pairs very well with our newest book called Our Daily Biscuit, Devotions with a Drawl. And you can get a signed copy of that as well at toddsterns.com.

So I would love for you to check that out. We have a crazy story from Missouri, of all places, the Show Me State. And I want to share this with you. This is bizarre.

So there is a senior living center, and it receives tax dollars.

So they are a taxpayer-funded facility, and it's a senior living center in Missouri.

Now, the American Center for Law and Justice is representing some of the residents of this center, and they're not naming the center. That's not the point of this. They don't want to name and shame just yet. They're hoping they just do the right thing. But anyway, the senior center months ago told a group of grandmas that they would be more than welcome to start a Bible study.

So they would hold a Bible study every week, and it became a very popular thing. You know, when you're a senior citizen, it's nice to have that sort of community. And a lot of people found their community through this Bible study. And they do lots of other things. in the area where the Bible study is held.

They have bingo, they have potluck, you name it, they do it in the community, in this community gathering spot.

Well, anyway, somebody complained back in June and said, I don't like the grandmas having Bible study. I got a problem with that. And so anyway, management called in the grandmas and said, we hate to break this to you, but we're not allowed to have a Bible study on the property, so you are no longer allowed to have this Bible study. And the American Center for Law and Justice got involved. They also said, well, the reason you can't have it is because we're federally funded and the Fair Housing Act prohibits a Bible study.

Well, that is just simply not true. As a matter of fact, what management should have done, they should have called in whatever raging atheist complained and said, you got a problem with the Bible study, take it up with the Almighty. That's what they should have said.

So anyway, the Fair Housing Act, and we checked into this, the Fair Housing Act stipulates that Bible studies must be allowed on federally funded property. That's the law. And by the way, it also bans people from discrimination based on religion. You can't do that. You cannot do that.

So anyway, the Senior Living Center people, they've got a choice here, and it's a pretty simple choice. You can either go with the godless Grinches, or you can go with the godly Golden Girls. And I would say stick with the Grandmas. I think you're going to be okay if you do that. 844-747-8868 is our phone number that's 844-747-8868 folks in st paul minnesota very concerned they say crime has tate has taken a turn rampant crime has taken a turn now that the democrats run the city uh cut number nine please and the conversation from the vast majority of those who spoke we have bullets in the sidewalk is crime like these burglaries assaults and open drug use continuing to make them feel unsafe especially at night it's a garbage can and certainly it's been allowed to become like that and it's it's sad and it's pathetic i'm hurt i'm afraid i feel like getting a license to carry because of my fear and they're not the only ones, folks.

So we have an update in our crime situation here in Memphis. It's so bad here. It's sad. It really is sad. And it's not going to get fixed till we elect a Republican, which is not going to happen anytime soon.

Brand new survey out. Nearly half of Memphians say they have been touched by violent crime. In another survey, nearly half of young children say they have been touched by Joe Biden. I'm just kidding. It's a little, you know, he likes to sniff the children.

I'm just kidding. It's a joke. It's a joke. The survey.

So here's what gets me about. May I just say something here? I want to read the headline to you here in this story and pull up a chair. Children, if you're homeschooling parents, let the kids learn something for just a moment here.

so local journalism in some areas is really horrible dare i say sucky it is so i want to read this and i want to see dylan where's dylan here i i i want you to um i want you to guess i know you're about to graduate from the university of memphis so you're a smart cookie you know things yes i want you to see if you can figure out what's wrong with this all right okay This is the headline. Nearly half of Memphians in poll touched by violent crime. And here is the story. The results show 64% of voters say a close friend or family member have been a victim of a break-in or a crime in Memphis. Huh.

Interesting. Nearly half, 64%. I guess that would be nearly half. Yeah, that would be nearly. It's more than nearly half, you nincompoops.

Anyway, most everybody in Memphis has been touched by some sort of a violent crime. It's a terrible, thank you, Dylan. It's a very horrible situation. I mean, it's really brutal. 64% of those polled say a close friend or family member have been a victim of a car break-in, including yours truly, by the way.

46% of voters say they'd been the victim of a violent crime in the past year. Do you understand 46 percent? What are we, 1.2 million, 1.3 million people live here in Memphis?

So you're talking about at least 600,000 people who say they have been the victim of a violent crime in Memphis. It's insane. The polling was done the same weekend. Eight people were shot in downtown Memphis near the entertainment district of Beale Street.

So anyway, I've got to shared this with you because the mayor has come upon a solution. And here's the problem. First of all, you have all these people that are out there on the roadways and they're doing donuts and they're peeling out and they're doing the sliding is what they call it and all sorts of stuff. They're right in the middle of the street and it's really, it's very dangerous. The police are not allowed to stop them because the Memphis City Council has tied their hands.

So they don't want the cops to interfere because to do so would be racist.

So the mayor has come up with a solution. The mayor thinks we need to just shut down all of the bars on Beale Street at midnight.

So everything has to shut down at midnight and that will resolve the crime, which at face value sounds okay.

Well, wow, we didn't realize that was the problem. And here's the problem. It's not the problem. Most of the crimes are being committed by juveniles, little thuglings, as we call them. And the thuglings, they can't get inside the bars.

So they're actually causing the problems outside the bars. And that's not to say that you're going to have a couple of rowdy dowels in the bar and the saloon. But by and large, the people that are in the bars are law abiding citizens.

So here's my question. If the mayor is going to go down this route, oh, he also says we ought to start shutting down streets to cut down on the street crime.

Okay, great.

Well, most of the crime is actually happening on the interstate system.

So does the mayor advocate shutting down Interstate 240? Is that what the mayor would like to do? By the way, what about Waffle Houses? We all know what goes down at Waffle House after midnight. Nothing good happens.

We've seen the videos. They're slinging more than scattered, covered, and smothered at the Waffle house after midnight. I'm just telling you it's true. Go down to the Walmart. You put your life in your hands if you step inside a Walmart after midnight.

They're going to shut down Walmarts. And by the way, most of the carjackings and the shootings are actually happening at gas stations.

So does the mayor just want to shut down the gas stations? Here's a thought. Why not unleash the cops and let the cops do their job? But you see, they're not going to do that because we're controlled by radical Democrats here in Memphis. And that brings me to the next story.

And I just love this. It's delicious. A tasty news morsel, if you will. it turns out that a wealthy memphis community wants to close two of their five streets in the neighborhood to keep the criminals out now this is a very wealthy neighborhood called chickasaw gardens and they it's a very upscale neighborhood it's in a very liberal part of memphis i mean very liberal. And so they're wanting to shut down these streets to keep the criminals out.

And of course, people are now complaining. How dare you? How dare you build walls around your homes to keep out the criminal thugs? Sarah Smith was interviewed by the local TV station. She says, quote, We've always thought of ourselves as one neighborhood.

Why are we dealing with crime in Memphis by closing people out?

So I'm honest to goodness, this is a hoot. Sarah Smith lives in the neighborhood, and she's very alarmed by this. Why are we dealing with crime in Memphis by closing people out?

You know, we need to be addressing the fact that we have a crime problem, and it's not being dealt with effectively.

Well, ma'am, try telling that and having that conversation with a home invader as they're holding you at gunpoint and ordering your husband or your significant other or your other friend to unload the safe. I'm just trying to be politically correct. I have no idea if Mrs. Smith is married or not. She says, another person says, Alex McCormick, I think it's a big concern for me.

There's a public park in the center of the neighborhood that's owned and maintained by the city. I don't know the benefit to them of putting up the gates. You know, it's not to benefit them, you moron. It is to help prevent you from being killed in your front yard while you're mowing the grass. But then again, it's a wealthy neighborhood, so they probably hire, I don't know, illegal aliens to do that.

I'm just saying. I know. I'm just saying. they they're cheap these people these and these liberal wealthy people they just don't get it so anyway i feel bad if there are any conservatives living in that neighborhood i feel bad for you oh by the way they also said well if we block the streets it's going to create a traffic hazard well yes because it's better than being shot to death these people don't get it they do not get it you try to help them out you try to you can lead the horse to the beale street bar but you can't get the horse to drink the booze i think that's how that goes anyway this is all it it It would be laughable if 600,000-plus people were not victims of crime in a major American city. And you would think this would be wall-to-wall national news coverage, but nobody's wanting to talk about it because they can't talk about it.

All right, we've got to take a break here. 844-747-8868 is our number. That's 844-747-8868. This is The Todd Stern Show. all right hello all of you beautiful people out there i have a question for you are you still eating over at chick-fil-a they're in the headlines today uh this is from the today show dylan i know you're a big chick-fil-a guy are you are have you heard about the new chick-fil-a sandwich that's coming out i have heard about it it's interesting it's called a honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich and it looks like it's basically their regular chicken sandwich and then they plop a dollop of pimento cheese on it and then they drizzle it with honey that's a interesting combo oh it's got um jalapenos jalapenos i love the jalapenos very tasty they it comes with pickled jalapenos and the bun oh and they're drizzling the bun with honey and who doesn't love a bun drizzled in the honey that's a lot of sticky fingers uh no thanks sticky bun too sticky buns sticky bun sticky fingers uh chick-fil-a is also um they're they're introducing a new milkshake and this is interesting now i'm a big fan of their peach milkshake and their peppermint milkshake.

I'm not too sure about this. It's called the caramel crumble milkshake. Is it going to have stuff in it? I don't like crunchy stuff in my milkshake. What's a crumble?

Is it like caramel crumbles? Yeah. Caramel crumble milkshake. Are they going to put like little bits in your milk? I don't like that.

Not a fan of that either. I don't know. Not a big fan. Not a big fan. I'm a simple guy though.

So I kind of just like the plain chicken sandwich and and the plain milkshake so i mean i don't know i want them to bring back the chicken salad sandwich and i want them to bring back the coleslaw and the carrot salad why did they get rid of those things well you know you could always try the uh the non-chicken sandwich uh the cauliflower you see i just i don't know i think what happened was that chick filet accidentally they hired some woke people and and they they started dabbling around in the kitchens and that's the problem yeah you got to keep the vegans out of the chick-fil-a test kitchens they started caring about the chickens a little too much i don't think they're serving it i haven't seen i haven't seen it on the menu i think it bombed so i don't know if anybody ever ordered it anymore so they just took it off they're like well we want our people to eat healthy okay well if you're going to eat healthy you're not going to chick-fil-a no and if you do you can order a grilled Dunkin, right? They're very tasty. Oh, I dipped mine in the sriracha sauce. That's good. You're making me hungry.

Well, I was going through drive-thru. This is kind of shocking. You know, normally they get you through drive-thru pretty quickly, but it was like three minutes and I'm tired of this. Three minutes is not effective for Chick-fil-A. No, I mean, you're in and out.

It doesn't matter if there are 70 cars in line, you're going to get your food in three minutes or less exactly so anyway i pulled in and i'm like geez hello but you don't want to complain because everybody's smiling right i mean there and you know why because everybody's homeschooled and they're just those kids are just glad to be out of the house it really is their pleasure it really is god bless you sir thank you so anyway i was at chick-fil-a yesterday and i ordered the the nuggets had a salad so i ate healthy yeah but there shouldn't be an in-between there shouldn't Yeah, no one wants that. Anyway, I am curious. Are you folks, is that still a thing? You know, a lot of people are boycotting Chick-fil-A. I forgot why.

I'm sure there's a good reason. It's hard to keep up. I'll let you know. But may I say something about Chick-fil-A? Those kids, the hardest working kids, and folks, the best thing you can do is get your kid out of the house and get them into a job.

Right?

So they're learning responsibility. They're learning how to manage their money. We need more of that. And that's one of the reasons I love at least our local Chick-fil-A's. They've got a lot of kids working.

And that's a good thing. They learn to work as a team. They learn to complete a task. And may I just say, I have never, and I'll have to brag on my Chick-fil-A that I go to on Germantown Parkway, and they know what I order by heart now, by memory, is that they always get the orders right. And you know why?

Because it is their pleasure. It's what we do on this program. We get our commentaries right every single day. And it is our pleasure. All right, folks.

And by the way, they are deep fried. We got to get out of here. Toddstarns.com. Go check it out. And you folks be good, America.
