Todd Starnes. Oh, yeah.

So I was scanning the interwebs last night and I came across a story. Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Starnes Radio Show.

So happy to have you with us. Wow.

So there's a big kerfuffle over at Washington and Lee University, which is a private school, but it's a fascinating story, involving the cancel culture mob. And we haven't really talked a lot about this lately, but there's been a raging, raging debate over Washington and Lee, over Robert E. Lee. and we understand that the chapel has been the source of most of the anger here.

So the chapel, inside the chapel, is this beautiful statue of Robert E. Lee. The statue of Lee reclining asleep and dressed in his Confederate military uniform has been in the rostrum of the chapel since 1883. And for decades, it has been there. It's been surrounded by the Confederate battle flags.

It's just a part of the lore of Washington and Lee University.

So anyway, they've already taken down the flags.

So the flags have now been removed. All of the portraits of the patriarchs have been removed as well, including George Washington and Robert E. Lee. So they've removed all of this. And a part of that, by the way, is, well, why did they get rid of George Washington?

I think it had something to do with the slaves, or he was white, I don't know, or he was a guy, he was heterosexual. Just take your pick. I'm sure something triggered somebody.

So anyway, there are a lot of woke little children that now go to Washington and Lee University, and they just get triggered by everything. They're very sensitive, these little creatures.

So anyway, the university wanted to erect a wall inside the chapel that would shield this statue of Lee lying in repose with a sleep dressed in the Confederate military uniform. And they they don't want the children to see him inside the university chapel.

So anyway, people are very concerned.

So now the trustees are literally looking at splitting this historic chapel, the university chapel, into two different buildings. It's unbelievable. I'm telling you that we are in the middle of a culture jihad in America.

Now, this is a more or less a bloodless jihad, but just like the Taliban, when the Taliban would go into a country, what would they do? They would immediately target the cultural and historic centers, and they would destroy that nation's culture. We saw this happen in Iraq.

So this is nothing new, and they destroy the culture. They literally want to leave behind a steaming pile, a heaping pile of rubble. And that's what the culture jihadists are doing here. They're just like the Islamic radicals.

So anyway, I'm just fascinated by the story of the chapel there at Washington and Lee University. While all that's going on, there's yet another controversy at Washington and Lee University. And this involves the horse that Robert E. Lee used to ride. And the horse's name, by the way, is Traveler.

And Traveler is the beloved horse of Robert E. Lee. It is very well known through history. Everybody loves Traveler, right? I knew, though, Todd Starnes, your friendly neighborhood talk radio host, I predicted that Traveler would run afoul of the culture jihadist.

And you want to know why I knew? Oh, no, Dylan, that has no, no, it's not because Robert E. Lee used to ride upon Traveler. That is not the reason why. It's very simple.

The reason why they're coming after Traveler is Traveler was a white horse. It's that simple. Traveler was of the Caucasian persuasion. You don't believe me? Take a look at the pictures.

It's true.

So it was only a matter of time that Traveler would trigger somebody. And that's exactly what's happened here.

So the horse, by the way, is buried on campus. Traveler was a beloved, a beloved horse on the campus of Washington and Lee University.

So they placed a couple of monuments, placards, saying, oh, this is the last place that Traveler lived before Traveler went to that great big horse pasture in the sky. And it was very nice, right? They said that Robert E. Lee, the Confederate war general, road traveler, and all this kind of, you have a nice little background of history there.

So anyway, it turns out that the university has now removed the historic markers honoring traveler. As a matter of fact, one of them was actually taken down, and then they went over to the grave site.

So when the horse died, they buried the horse on campus. And there's a beautiful grave, and there's a grave marker, and they took away the grave marker.

So they desecrated the grave. They took away the grave marker of the horse. And they had to take away the grave marker because on the grave marker, and, you know, when you go to the cemetery, here lies, oh, all right, we'll just make something up. Here lies Orville Redenbacher, the maker of popcorn. Right.

So you have that little, you know, little background of your history there. Whatever. And so the same thing with with the traveler. They they said that traveler was Robert E. Lee's horse.

And apparently this was all sponsored. I guess the daughters of the Confederacy paid for the marker that they they're involved somehow. It's really not all that important.

Well, anyway, the university comes along this week. What are you doing? You can't do that. Do what? You can't have Robert E.

Lee's name on the grave site of the horse that Robert E. Lee used to own? What's wrong with you? That's politically incorrect. That's white privilege.

That's critical race theory 101.

So they desecrated the grave. They dug up the grave marker and they replaced it with one that did not have Robert E. Lee's name. And they did not have the daughters of the Confederacy.

So now, you know, just think about this. Twenty, thirty years from now, you're going to have some kid and they're going to be wandering around the graveyard on campus. And they're going to like, well, who's Traveler? What's his last name?

Well, Traveler was a horse.

Well, it doesn't say he's a horse. What kind of a horse was he?

Well, he was a white horse. Oh, racist. What are you going to do?

So anyway, Washington and Lee are now talking about this. They say they're trying to separate themselves from the Confederacy and the lost cause. And look, if that's what they want to do, they're a private university. They can do whatever they wish to do. But if they really are trying to distance themselves from the Confederacy and the lost cause, just want to throw this out here, folks.

Anybody out there want to tell the folks over at Washington and Lee University what the Lee stands for? Anybody? Any takers out there? I'm just curious.

So look, in 2019, I wrote a book called Culture Jihad, How to Stop the Left from Killing a Nation. I caught so much grief from my fellow conservatives over this book because I warned people that we were fast approaching a day when we would be erasing our history in America. And people thought I was off my rocker. They thought I was overstating the issue. I also said in that book that we better watch out because there are a bunch of sex and gender revolutionaries revolutionaries that are trying to destroy sexual norms in America.

And that actually got me banned from a number of TV programs at Fox News Channel. You know, normally they have you on to promote your books, and they did not on this one. God love them. I've got to say thank you to the folks at Fox and Friends. They were the only, the only show that was willing to talk about my book.

And, of course, now everybody is talking about these issues. But this was 2019. In this book, I warn people that a radical mob that hates America was systematically erasing our history and our culture. And it's happening. Drive down Monument, what is it, Monument Row or Monument Avenue in Richmond, Virginia, and look what they've done.

They've destroyed beautiful artwork, beautiful statues. because people find them offensive. Here in Memphis, Tennessee, they dug up the body of Nathan Bedford Forrest, the Confederate War general, who did horrible, horrible things during the war. He was buried in the park, and it was a beautiful park. It was very well kept.

There was this massive, imposing statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest on a horse. and you could see it for a good country mile. And they tore it down, tore it all down. And now that park looks like some sort of a wasteland. They even dug up the bodies of Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife.

They were buried underneath the – that was his resting place, his final resting place. But the mayor of Memphis, Tennessee, and the city council, all woke radicals, they're grave robbers. They literally dug up the dead bodies and got them out of there. You know they're going to do that to Traveler. You know they're going to do that.

They're not going to allow the white horse that belonged to Robert E. Lee to remain on campus, right? They're not going to do that anyway.

So there's this effort afoot to erase all of our history, and we've got to talk about this, and we have to put a stop to this. Look, there was another park in Memphis. I mean, we've been completely, well, I wouldn't say completely because they're trying to rename Overton Park now.

So John Overton, is it John? John Overton. Anyway, Mr. Overton was apparently a bad person, owned slaves or something. And now he's got to be erased.

But there was another, there was Jefferson Davis Park, Confederate Memorial Park is what I believe they called it. And they had a statue of Jefferson Davis. or as they say in Mississippi, Jefferson Davis, Jeff Davis. Anyway, they removed that statue, and they literally replaced the statue of Jefferson Davis with an eight-foot-tall hairpick, one of those Afro hairpicks. I'm just telling you, I don't know why.

I don't think Jefferson Davis used one of those, but it's there. What are they calling it, Hairpick Park? No, I think it's called Fourth Bluff Park now. And so we're seeing this happen all over America. This is nothing unique now.

It's happening all over the country. And let me explain this to you. They're going to keep it up until we all forget about our history. And they want us to forget about our history. They want us to forget about where we came from.

They want us to forget the notion that we went through a horrible period in this nation with slavery, But we overcame that, and we grew and became a stronger nation because of that, that the American experiment went through a difficult trial, and we came out on the other side a better people. As a matter of fact, we are the only nation on the face of the earth that has been through something like that. But you've got to go back to Nathan Bedford Forrest, and I'll give you an example of how awful this is and how evil this is. You know, a lot of people think, well, yeah, I mean, this guy was somehow involved in the Klan, and you can have those debates about the level of his involvement. But it really doesn't matter.

This guy was bad, he was evil, and he did horrible things. But something else happened to Nathan Bedford Forrest, and the woke mob doesn't want to talk about that. You see, this man, as awful and as evil as he was, started going to church with his wife. and through a period of time, he became a follower of Christ and he changed his life, much like the captain of the slave ship who renounced his beliefs and became a follower of Christ and wrote a beautiful song that we all sing in our churches. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was a wretch that found God. and he renounced his old ways and he spent every single waking minute of the rest of his life trying to help the black community in Memphis, Tennessee. Started schools, helped people, became a civil rights leader. You don't hear that story because they don't want you to hear that story. Those are the stories we need to tell.

We have to tell the bad so that we can explain the good. All right, we've got to take a break here. 844-747-8868. That's 844-747-8868. Again, I'm trying to warn you about this culture jihad and what this is going to mean to the country, but honestly, it's almost like beating a dead horse.

All right, welcome back to the Todd Stearns Radio Program. Happy to have you with us today. I want to bring you up to speed. We have an update on this crazy story out of Montgomery, Alabama, where you had these guys on a pontoon boat. They were parked where they weren't supposed to be parked.

A riverboat was not allowed to make it to the dock. And so, I mean, it was a mess. And so anyway, they get into a fight with one of the dock hands. All you know what breaks loose, and it's a national news story.

So now the police chief is coming out, and they've named suspects. And cut number 12, please. The suspects thus far have been identified as Richard Roberts, white male, 48 years old, with two outstanding warrants for assault, third degree. Alan Todd, white male, 23 years old, one warrant for assault third degree and Zachary Shipman, white male, 25 years old, one warrant for assault third degree We have instructed those individuals to turn themselves into law enforcement and at this time one is secured and in custody the other two are set to turn themselves in within the next hour We are also asking for Mr. Reggie Gray, the black male, 42 years old, who was seen wheeled in that folding chair, to contact the Montgomery Police Department for further interviews and as part of this investigation.

So for the record, there's really no racial component other than the fact that you had black guys and white guys fighting each other and the white guys started. But there's not a hate crime component here, right?

So I'm reading in the newspaper, the Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tennessee. It is a Gannett newspaper. And their headline was three white guys wanted in connection to Montgomery Brawl. No mention of the fact that a black guy is facing charges as well. By the way, the black guy took a chair and he was beating women over the head.

This woman was beating her over the head with this chair. That's not important to the story.

So the skin color, according to the newspapers, the skin color is only important if they are trying to advance some sort of a narrative, which is not a narrative here. I mean, you basically had a bunch of idiots. That's what it is. No racial epithets were uttered, nothing like that at all.

So there are no hate crime charges. They're just stupidity charges. But there you go. The newspaper once again trying to shove an agenda down our throats. And we're going to call them out on it every single time.

We're going to call them out. Shame on you, commercial appeal in Memphis, Tennessee. All right, 844-747-8868 is our telephone number. That's 844-747-8868. This is the Todd Stern Show.

They had to shut down the Gateway International Bridge. That's because illegals had blocked the bridge. That's over in the southernmost tip of Texas.

It was a pretty disconcerting issue, again, as we're watching these surges happen along our border. I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line right now. Great to have with us from Tennessee's 7th Congressional District, the chairman of Homeland Security, Congressman Mark Green. Hey, Congressman, how are you today? Hey, brother.

Thanks for having me on the show. Absolutely. And Congressman, a lot of ground to cover with you today. And this story out of Brownsville, this is insane that the agents are having to basically stave off these hordes of invaders. Yeah, I mean, the cartels basically overwhelm a crossing site.

This is their modus operandi. They overwhelm the crossing site. that requires Customs and Border Patrol to concentrate assets there, meaning they thin the line in between the ports of entry. And then, of course, the cartels come rushing across over there with their drugs and narcotics. What's fascinating is that the Secretary of Homeland Security said he wasn't even aware of that strategy.

Crazy.

Well, you've been at the forefront of this, and there's so much crazy stuff happening down at the border. And I want you to tell our listeners about this app. And the cartels are actually exploiting this app, which is from a federal program that is meant for immigrants seeking admission into the country. What do they call it? The CBP-1 app.

Yeah, so that app was actually originally written for trucks that were hauling cargo into the United States. They would log that they were coming and basically book an appointment to pass through customs, have the vehicle inspected and move on. It would speed the process of commerce between Mexico and the U.S., one of our greatest trading partners.

So what Mayorkas did was turn that into a way to give automatic asylum. If the migrant completed the app and arrived, they were essentially granted. And he he refers to it as the legal pathway. It's absolutely illegal because the Congress decades ago passed the Immigration and Nationalization Act, which says exactly what's to happen with asylum. And that is a judicial process, ultimately.

And he's basically completely removed that and granting people automatic parole.

Now, it's my understanding, and this is from the Washington Examiner. They've done an investigation. they've determined that a lot of these cartels, these smugglers, are openly advertising their services on social media. Is that true? Absolutely.

And, in fact, when he announced the CBP1 app, we told him all that was going to happen. I think my exact words were a coyote paid coyote is going to complete the form for extra money, you know, for the migrant. And that's exactly what's happening. In fact, the cartels have set up a VPN that allows people to log into it without, once they pay, they get a code and they use the VPN and they're tracked throughout their, you know, trek through Mexico and Central America. And then they get the app completed for them by the cartels.

It's absolutely absurd. We told Mayorkas this would happen. Of course, you know, telling Mayorkas that the sky is blue, you know, doesn't seem to work for that guy. But, yeah, I mean, that's what they're doing.

So when it comes to Mayorkas, where are we at? I know people have been wanting him impeached, held accountable. Where are we at in all of that, Congressman?

Well, you know, the challenge for us is there are a couple of Republicans, and it's like four or five.

So it's a small number, but it's enough to keep us from getting him to, you know, legal action. And so what I am doing is taking a very methodical approach to investigating his failings.

So there's job performance as well as some potential criminal activity that's happened. And as we go through it, we're communicating that to the American people. And hopefully we build a consensus and then can take a packet of, I think, the document's well over 150 pages now. But we assemble it as we go along. we're in we're in phase three of five phases uh on september the 13th we'll have a hearing actually i think tim ballard from uh uh sound of freedom is going to be at that hearing if not that one he'll be at another one and it's uh to talk about the human cost of the open border but uh you know five phases and we're going to put together a packet hopefully convince those other republicans and enough of the american people to actually take action against this guy he's he's uh you know Derelict in his duty, dishonest, lied to Congress, violated laws passed by Congress, basically ignored court rulings.

I mean, I don't think he can be or should be the Secretary of Homeland Security, and a lot of people agree with me. No, I think anybody with a functioning brain can see what's happening down there and realize this is horrible for our country. And again, you know, a lot of the focus is on the people coming across. I think we should be more concerned about the amount of drugs that are coming across the border and the impact those are having in our communities. Yeah, I mean, you think about the two years, 21 and 22, 107 and 109,000 dead.

So 216,000 dead Americans in those two years. I mean, that's bigger than the city of Clarksville where I live. It's insane. And think, too, I mean, I get the drugs, but also the human trafficking. I mean, the women who were sexually assaulted, they just broke up a prostitution ring in Houston of 20 young girls that had been brought over by the cartels.

I mean, this is horrible. And it's a human tragedy of epic proportions that is facilitated by Alejandro Mayorkas and Joe Biden. Yesterday, we had Congressman Matt Rosendale on the show. he's back home on his ranch in Montana. And man, he was fighting mad about the Department of Education, the Biden administration, cutting funding for these hunting safety courses for kids.

And I know this is a big deal for you as well. Yeah, it impacts about 38,000 Tennessee students. It's ridiculous. You know, they just hate, they hate everything gut. And what they can't realize and can't fathom that law-abiding citizens use guns for enjoyment.

We use them for hunting and the heritage of hunting. I mean, I took my son's bird hunting and duck hunting, and we love it. And teaching gun safety in schools is just a good idea. But these idiots, they are just like they cut funding, and I have a bill on that too. They cut Tennessee's Title 10 funding because we don't allow abortions in this state.

Well, now they're cutting, you know, funding for schools, archery programs, and hunting programs. And we're pushing back hard. In fact, I, you know, I don't think I've gotten more national press on, you know, the Mayorka stuff than I have on this. I'm going to, I think we're going to wind up being an outdoor life. They They called and asked for photos of my family hunting.

So this has hit a nerve. And Alaska from Alaska to Maine to Florida people are pissed about this and they should be It an encroachment on federalism You know, the whole Department of Education in and of itself is just insane. And I will say, I had a conversation with Cameron Sexton the other day, and by golly, God bless him, he's planning for next session of the General Assembly to just basically cut off federal funding from Washington for education. I think that's brilliant. The state needs to become less dependent on D.C.

so we can just, you know, tell them to go pound sand, as we say in the Army. I love this. And look, you know, most southern states, Congressman, and you know this, the opening of deer season, that's a holiday. The kids are out of school because nobody shows up. Otherwise, they're all going to be at a deer stand somewhere.

Are you getting any indication at all from the Department of Education why they did this? Have you gotten an explanation?

well i mean the statements i can only go with the statements that biden has made those those you know he's made very negative statements about hunting and archery and how you know these are weapons and kids don't need to be taught how to use these etc etc it's just the insanity insanity with the anti-gun lobby um he's playing to his base uh you know just trying to to placate them And a lot of people in the middle are pissed, too, on this one. On the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line right now, Congressman Mark Green from Tennessee. And Congressman, real quick here, I want you to weigh in on this FAA vote involving the pilots. Yeah, well, you know, it's very interesting when two conservative principles clash. It sort of reminded me of the vote I had in the state Senate when guns in parking lots, you know, the person's Second Amendment right, I believe, trumped the property rights.

But those are both conservative principles. In this case, I'm very anti-mandate. In fact, I passed the amendment that prevented soldiers from getting kicked out with a dishonorable discharge. I supported the amendments that reinstated them, but they're in the military. the amendment on the the on the faa act was the federal government telling a private business you have to do x or y and i hate that i think that's wrong i don't want the camel's nose in the tent even joe biden knew he couldn't do that so he did an end around and did a mandate with anybody who contracted with the united states government so that's how they got to the to the uh pilots and what's interesting is only united fired people of the big four airlines and they hired back 2,000.

So we're talking about they hired, they fired 2,200. They hired back 2,000. We're talking 200 pilots. And the amendment was to say you had to hire them back, which I want them to hire them back, but I don't want the federal government telling a business how they have to administer hiring people. Because what happens is when government acts like that, it takes freedom from somebody.

There's a small business out there somewhere who's going to do something in the future. And when we open this door, we just said, okay, it's okay for the federal government to tell that business to do X and Y. Oh, you have to hire X percentage of people that are EEI, you know, diversity, equity, inclusion. And I just, we can't let the camel's nose in the tent.

So I voted no. I know Marjorie Taylor Greene, who brought that amendment, did so with a good intention. But again, the Constitution is clear and we should not, you know, we should not tell businesses, private businesses, how to run their business. Yeah, look, I'm with you on this one, Congressman, and I know it's tough, but, you know, you've got to kind of, you know, peel back the layers of the onion to see what the real issue here is, because I don't want the government, I'm a small business owner myself, and I don't want the government coming in and telling me how to run my business. Right.

I mean, you know, I ran a couple of different small businesses, and, you know, it's about freedom those pilots and i hate what happened to them and i i don't you know i very rarely fly united and only when the government buys the ticket because of that but i i do fly uh another airline that chose not to do a mandate and so let's let the market put the pressures on those guys that's it all right well congressman freedom yeah that is it is freedom all right congressman we're gonna leave it there i gotta make it up to carl she will just not only to visit with you, but I got to go to the new Buc-ee's you guys have up there. Hey, come on up. Clarksville is a hidden gem. I mean, it's a great town, and it's funny. I'll talk to folks in Nashville, and they'll say they're coming up here, and someone will ask them, you know, are you staying overnight?

I'm like, no, it's 40 minutes. You know, we're right up the road, and we've got, you know, great restaurants and a great, and of course, the military is building this massive museum there, the Wings of Liberty Museum, which is going to attract people from all over the country.

So come to Clarksville. Beautiful area. All right, Congressman, good having you on the show today. See you. All right, folks.

There you go. Congressman Mark Green, good guy. And he's doing a great job on Homeland Security. I suspect, I don't know, he's got a great future ahead of him and he's a good man. And look, going back to the situation with the airlines, you as consumers have the responsibility to punish the airlines for what they did to these pilots.

That's your responsibility as an American citizen, much like what we're doing with Anheuser Bush right now. All right, we've got to take a break here. 844-747-8868. That is our number. That's 844-747-8868.

You know what you need to do? Listen to your local radio station. That's right, because they're the only folks that are going to be able to keep you informed and updated when bad weather happens or anything else for that matter.

So good for you. By the way, what a great interview with Congressman Mark Green, and he raises such a great point about the hunting sports. Joe Biden has declared war on a way of life. And all you need to do, ladies and gentlemen, I know I know there are some people out there and you may be saying, well, we just have to take those guns away from the children. The children don't need to be they don't need to have access to the guns, Todd.

No, no, no. Let me explain something to you. I want you to do some homework. I want you to just go to Google and just research countries that have taken guns away from the citizens. And take a look at the aftermath of those countries.

Take a look at what happened after they disarmed the population. And you see, this is why, and I think we have enough people here in America that understand why we can never, ever disarm the population. because once the government gets our guns, it's all over. It is all over. And we learned that during the China virus.

We learned that during the pandemic, right? Given the chance, go back to the pandemic for a moment. What was it that the government did? The government, they shut down our churches, they shut down our businesses, and they made us stay locked inside our homes. And if you would have asked me back in 2017, And Todd, do you think that there would have come a time when the American people would allow their churches to be shut down by the government?

I would have laughed in your face. I would have. Todd, do you think the American people would just let the government come in and shut down their shops and their stores? I would have thrown you out of the building. There's no way that would have happened.

But it turned out that's exactly what happened. And the scary part is how quickly our fellow citizens were willing to do that. Oh, wow.

So you're saying I might get a sniffle. I might sneeze if I go to a local mom-and-pop grocery, but it's okay for me to stand in line with 5,000 people at Walmart? Wow.

I had no idea. I'm shutting down my business. That's what people were literally saying. Nobody really thought much about it, did they? I never could understand that.

So you're telling me that I'm safer standing butt cheek to butt cheek in a Walmart with 5,000 people, but it's not safe to go shopping down at the local grocery store owned by, you know, Uncle Joe and Aunt Sally? Come on, come on. All that to say, this is why we have to have our guns. Because heaven forbid the government wake up one day and decide, you know what, it's time to take over. Keep in mind, our founding fathers did not intend for the federal bureaucracy to be so massive, right?

The power was not supposed to be centralized in Washington, D.C., and that's what's happening. And we've got to figure that out. And maybe just maybe putting Trump back into the White House is going to resolve all of that. And maybe he will be able to get us on that path in four years or at least get us started down the path to where we can dismantle the deep state and punish people. I mean, again, folks, this is not a good situation we're in right now, where you've got the deep state out there thinking they control everything, and there is absolutely no accountability.

You heard Congressman Greene. There are Republicans standing in the way of impeaching Secretary Mayorkas. I mean, what's that all about? All right, hang tight, folks. We've got Congressman Jim Jordan coming up next with breaking news.

right here on the Todd Stearns Radio Show. Live from the Liberty University studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite cunt-toed and Bible-clinging deplorable American. That's us, that's right. I love this American ride. Todd Stearns.

All right.

Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Stearns Radio Program, hour two of the big show underway. And by the way, if you missed that conversation we just had with Congressman Mark Green from Tennessee, you can head over to our website, toddstearns.com, and you've got to download our free podcast. We have over a million downloads a month on the podcast, and we're very grateful for the great support you guys give us on the podcast over at ToddStearns.com.

So be sure to do that after the program today.

Well, there is a disturbing report in the Wall Street Journal, this breaking, just within the past couple of hours. We had been telling you about the weaponization of the federal government and specifically the Biden administration's attacks on people of faith, especially Catholics and pro-lifers, and we have documented all of those.

Well, now we understand that the efforts by the FBI to infiltrate the Catholic Church were much wider than we were originally told. And I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Great to have with us the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and also the chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, our good friend Congressman Jim Jordan. Congressman, appreciate you taking time for us today. You bet.

Good to be with you, Todd. Congressman, what can you tell us about this probe? Because originally we were told it was maybe not so large and it was only impacting maybe a parish in the Richmond, Virginia area. Right, yeah. The FBI said, oh, no, this is just a one-off.

This was the FBI field office in Richmond, Virginia, putting out this memorandum, this domain perspective is the fancy name they use. And basically said, if you're a pro-life Catholic, they were considering you an extremist. And they were looking to develop sources and develop snitches inside the parish, inside the church. I mean, it was crazy.

So the FBI quickly, when a whistleblower brought this to our attention, God bless the whistleblowers who came forward over the last couple of years, brought this to our attention. the FBI said, no, no, we've rescinded this, we've withdrawn this, this is bad, it just happened there.

Well, it turned out there were other offices, field offices, Portland and Los Angeles to be specific, who were also assisting the Richmond field office in this effort. And that information was redacted.

So the biggest question I have is, why did you redact that the other offices were involved. There was no valid reason that we can see that the FBI would keep that information from us. And frankly, but for us threatening contempt, I don't know that we've ever got this less redacted. It's still not completely, you know, there's still some redactions in it, but this less redacted version where we learned what the Wall Street Journal reported today.

So here's what I don't get. The FBI director, and correct me if I'm wrong here, but Chris Ray told your committee that that report was a single product by a single field office. And now you're telling me we may have Los Angeles and Portland involved. Yeah, there's even on there where Portland was, the Portland field office was redacted off the actual document. And then the less redacted version we finally got from them here in the last couple of weeks, it's not redacted.

So it's like, why did they keep that from us? And we've asked the director, do you need to amend your testimony? Because it sure looks like that it wasn't limited to just the Richmond field office of the FBI.

Now, according to the Wall Street Journal's reporting, they define the term radical traditionalist Catholics. This is pretty disturbing stuff, but basically anybody who attends a Latin mass, I guess that would make them a radical traditionalist Catholic? Yeah, there's a line actually in memorandum. I'm going from memory, but basically it was politics. It's like if you believe in a secure border, if you believe in traditional marriage, and if you're pro-life, they defined you, the people who put this memorandum together, now, as we know, from just not the Richmond field office, but other people in the FBI involved as well, they defined that as a radical.

You're an extremist, and they felt like they needed to develop sources and people who could, confidential sources inside the parish, inside the church, who could watch people who would have those political beliefs. Again, frightening stuff when you think about First Amendment liberties and what's protected in our Constitution and under our First Amendment.

So, Congressman, have you been able to determine what the point of all of this is? Why is the FBI trying to infiltrate the Roman Catholic Church?

Well, they think domestic extremism is the number one threat. They've testified to this in hearings. We've had multiple whistleblowers tell us that there's this push to find a domestic extremist everywhere and to label things and catalog and categorize cases as domestic violent extremism. And so this was just, I think, part of this broad effort, this narrative. And again, I think it stems from where the left is today, where the Democrat Party unfortunately is now as controlled by the left.

Remember when Joe Biden gave that speech last year in front of Independence Hall, where all the red, it looked kind of crazy. And he basically called half the country fascist.

So it's part of that narrative, that crazy belief out there that the left now has. And I think they're trying to develop this within the Justice Department. Again, not Jim Jordan saying this. This is whistleblowers. You've come talk to us.

It's just unbelievable here, folks. Just unbelievable. Congressman Jim Jordan on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line right now. Congressman, a few days ago, you released part four of the Facebook files. This keeps getting worse and worse the more files you guys release.

Yeah, and it's interesting. Matt Taibbi, who is one of the authors of the Twitter file, said what we're discovering here at Facebook is even worse. And you had this situation where the Biden administration, Rob Flaherty at the White House, was emailing Facebook and saying, hey, guys, can you figure out a way to change your algorithm so that New York Times stories get plenty of attention, and they get wide use and wide range, but stories from conservative sources like the Daily Wire, can you scale them back some? I mean, this is straight out of communist regimes where the government tells the press what to write and what to emphasize. Scary stuff here as well.

Again, this overall attack we see on First Amendment liberty is frankly, I think the biggest concern we have right now with Biden administration. We can get through and get past all the other stupid policies they have, but if they take away our First Amendment rights, that's so fundamental. This is a key focus of the Judiciary Committee and House Republicans in the Congress this year.

So we're going to keep focusing on it. And frankly, we're going to try to use the appropriation process to limit the money that goes to some of these agencies who were involved in censorship of American people. And so just to be clear on that, because I do have a question about that.

So let's say you guys go in and you're able to defund these folks. Does the Senate have to sign off on that as well? Yeah, it does.

So one of the things we're trying to do is, you know, we don't want to take money away from the good FBI agents out there who are doing good work, but we do want to take money away from maybe the people at the top who are making these decisions. sure that no money can be used that as an example at the department of homeland security to what the place that was going to set up this disinformation governance board um we we want to put what's typically called policy writer language on there that limits how american tax dollars can be spent and where our focus is on making sure it's not spent to censor americans first amendment rights i don't know i mean look i mean you're the chairman of the committee but it seems to me Congressman, I wouldn't mind putting a little pressure on those good agents to say, hey, you guys have to help us root out all this evil here. And if you don't, you know what? Everybody suffers. You know, you're not going to get a paycheck.

Fair point. And I would point out that a number of those good agents have come forward and they face retaliation. We had three of them come in as witnesses a few months ago and they did a great job, stood up well, came across as just totally credible.

So there are people who are coming forward, and it's funny, when you talk with these guys, they say, for all of us to come forward, there are countless others who want to, but are in just a tough situation, a little nervous about their position. But God bless the ones who have come forward and given us this information. That's how we got this Catholic memo information. It was a whistleblower who brought it to us. And fair enough.

I mean, it's just a mess. It's an all-around great big mess, Congressman. All right, well, we appreciate your time. And Congressman, are you back in the district now? I know a lot of folks are back home.

We are. Yeah, we're back in the great state of Ohio. All right.

Well, Congressman, enjoy that time. And we appreciate you spending a few moments with us today. You bet, Todd. Thanks for all you do. Take care.

All right.

Congressman Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. And it's tough because they don't control the Senate. The Republicans can only do so much in the House. But we're going to have to get to that point. And, you know, look, I see the congressman's point here on defunding, and there are good and decent FBI agents, no doubt about it.

But we need all of them to step up to the plate, all of them. And I will say this. If you are a good and decent FBI agent and you're standing by and watching these rogue agents infiltrate the Catholic Church and knock down the doors of the pro-life leaders, I hold you complicit. I mean, this is unacceptable. We have all got to stand up and root out this evil that has infected the government agencies, and it is called the deep state.

So, President Trump out there on the campaign trail. And, you know, the president, I think maybe he's mellowing a little bit as he gets older because, you know, he was defending Chris Christie yesterday, and there's been a bit of blowback. But, again, the president of the United States was basically trying to defend Chris Christie, big Chris Christie, from some really unfair attacks from a member of the crowd. And I just say, good for you. Good for you, Mr.

President. Cut number three, please. No, no, Christie's eating right now. He can't be a violent. Sir, please do not call him a fat pig.

That's very disrespectful. Don't call him. See, I'm trying to be nice. Don't call him a fat pig. You can't do that.

He can't do that.

So now, because you're not allowed to do that, And therefore, we're not going to do it. OK, we want to be very civil, right?

Well, good for you. Yes, Mr. President, we all want to be civil. Good for you for calling that gentleman out. The gentleman was clearly, clearly out of bounds, out of lines to call to call Chris Christie a fat pig.

So anyway, President Trump, just a few just a little while ago, wrote this on True Social. He says, I was extremely respectful of sloppy Chris Christie today. in New Hampshire, during a speech in front of a large crowd of patriots, somebody shouted out that Chris Christie is a fat pig. Rather than acknowledging that, which many speakers would have done, I said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He is not a fat pig.

I repeat, Chris Christie is not a fat pig. The president goes on to say, I'm sure Chris would have been very happy with my defense of him.

Well, that's interesting that the president was able to take that approach. And, you know, I, too, agree that Chris Christie would have been very happy with President Trump's fierce defense of him when the person in the crowd and my ears are not as sensitive as Donald Trump.

So I couldn't actually hear the guy in the crowd call Chris Christie a fat pig. But apparently Donald Trump, who has presidential ears, was able to pick up on some frequency that a mere mortal could not pick up on. And he and he heard what he heard.

So I good. I say good for you.

Well, we have managed to and I I can't tell you our sources here, but we have been able to manage to get a response directly from Chris Christie.

so i'm sorry was that chris can we play that again it was just a short little clip but chris christie now responding to donald trump you know if i didn't know better he kind of sounds oh no he's no that no he's not no i don't think so um chris christie is now basically challenging donald trump to a duel he's daring Donald Trump to show up at the debate and say that to his face. And if I were Donald Trump, I would say, say what to your face? I want you to say to my face that I'm a fat pig. And Trump would say, I would never dream in a million years of calling you a fat pig, Chris Christie. But somebody in that crowd called you a fat pig.

And I defended your honor. And I said, let me tell you something about Chris Christie. I know he's a lot of things, but Chris Christie is not a fat pig. he he's not he's not so you know chris is it's got to be tough out there right because he's he's just catching up from everybody so i say chris christie don't let him get you down you keep your chins up sir all of them keep them up we're we're with you by the way the media coverage of this? This is a great lesson, ladies and gentlemen, in the drive by media.

Every now and again, the media folk, they give us an insight into how they do things.

So the headlines are that Donald Trump is actually attacking Chris Christie here with this fat pig comment. But it turns out that this is simply not true. Chris Christie has been out there for weeks now, weeks and he has been tearing apart Donald Trump every single day. He's been allowed to go onto the news programs and he's sitting down there in those in those chairs, those giant chairs, and he has been like pounding away at Donald Trump every single day. And the media, they love it.

It's almost like a Christy gasm with these people. They're just they are loving every single minute of it. Day in and day out, they have been allowing Chris Christie to attack Donald Trump.

So what is it that Trump does here? And it's so strategic. And we all know, we all know what's really going on here, right? Here's what's going on. Donald Trump is waiting.

Donald Trump has a policy. I'm not going to throw the first punch, but by golly, I will throw the second punch and I will knock you down And that exactly what happened here That is exactly what has happened here So Donald Trump with and by the way it wasn even Donald Trump It was some guy in the audience who we couldn't hear, but Donald Trump did. And even though Donald Trump was well within his rights to call Chris Christie a fat pig, he stood up and he defended Chris Christie. This is an honorable man, ladies and gentlemen, Donald J. Trump is, because Chris Christie, he doesn't deserve this.

He doesn't deserve grace. He doesn't deserve an extra helping of meatloaf because Chris Christie has been hating on Donald Trump. And Donald Trump stood up for him and said, no, no, no, no, no, no. He is not a fat pig. He is not a fat pig.

I say again, America, hear me. Chris Christie is not a fat pig.

so chris christie ought to be saying thank you that's the whole point of all of that all right 844-747-8868 that's 844-747-8868 for our memphis listeners you better get a rowboat there is flooding all over the city well that's what we're being told all right we've got to take a break here folks this is the todd stearns radio show All right. It is the Todd Stearns Radio Program. Very happy to have you with us today. A lot going on out there. By the way, congratulations to a guy that was on our show earlier this week.

His name is Thomas Tuggle, and he was elected in a landslide.

So the first black sheriff in DeSoto County, Mississippi. That's a big old chunk of Mississippi. I think the third largest area there in the state. And anyway, the last time they had a black sheriff was right after Reconstruction.

So this was a pretty historic moment. Mr. Tuggle is a Republican. He was inspired by a speech Ronald Reagan delivered when he was a little boy. And, well, the rest is history.

So congratulations, Sheriff Tuggle. And we'll try to get him back on. I like his policies on dealing with crime, and we need more of that. All right, our telephone number is 844-747-8868. That's 844-747-8868.

Have you heard about this woman? And this is a big problem in America. We have a lot of mentally ill people in this country, and most of them have no business walking the streets. They are very bizarre individuals, and this woman is one of them. She went out of her house for the first time in three years, So she has been locked up inside of her house for three years, but she decided to walk out of her home into the deadly pandemic so she could watch the Barbie movie.

Take a listen. I don't remember the last time I went to see a movie because I don't love going to the movie theater. But I'll tell you what, it pisses me off that I can't go see Barbie. I want to go see it, even if it is white feminism. I want to be able to go.

So I'm doing a thing. And if you live in the Pacific Northwest, you can do a thing with me. Here's what it is.

Next week, which is July 31st, August 1st, someday next week on a weekday, I am renting out a theater in Northwest Portland. The entire theater. The whole theater. The theater seats 46 people, I think. We're only going to do 20 tickets.

So me and 19 other people. That's it. In addition to that, there will be one employee.

So the entire building, the entire cinema is going to be one employee plus 20 attendees. That's it. We are the only people in the building and every single person, including that employee, is going to be wearing an N95 the entire time. The employee is going to put it on before they enter the building. They've been chosen specifically for this purpose.

They seem to get it. If you show up because you bought a ticket, I need to see a KN94 well-fitted or a 95 well-fitted or a P100, and if I see a baggy mask, I'm going to tell you to take it off and put on one that I hand you. I'm holding onto a bunch of masks. Choose the one you like best. There are no concessions during the movie.

They're not even going to open it up. Do not bother bringing food or drinks. You may not take your mask off in the movie. If you need to scratch your nose or you need to take a sip of water, you need to get up, exit the theater, do that, and then come back. They're going to be medically fragile people there.

This is their first opportunity in like three and a half years, so we You're not around here, folks. No kids that can't wear a mask solidly for two hours. Like, I'm not going to do little kids because I don't blame them, but it is what it is. This is going to be a morning showing. We are the first people in the building, so we will be in and out well before any other employees or other people show up for the showings.

The building will have had a chance to clear the air from the night before. and also they upgraded their filtration over the past three years and they just had an inspection June 26th their quarterly inspection and changed out all of their MERV filters so they're in a pretty good spot it's going to be 20 to 25 bucks a person all I'm doing is covering the cost uh that's it um so I will refund any overages um it is a risk I don't know how else to put that it's definitely a risk to be in a building for two hours makes me anxious. But I feel like it's a measured risk and one I'm willing to take. And if there are more cautions that we could take, definitely let me know. But if you want to go, hit the comments, let me know, and I'll be in touch.

I'll get in touch with you over DM and we will make it work. I'm excited, I think, for Barbie. Did not expect to be saying that, right? Good golly. I'm telling you, these people are sick.

They're sick in the head. And we need to start calling these people out for what they are. They're sick in the head. They need mental help is what they need. And what's shocking, the number of people that the pandemic just broke.

I mean, there were already people out there that were lunatics. And you can normally pick them out by the color of their hair, right? These magenta people out there. I'm telling you, something's not right with these folks.

So there you go. All right.

Back to D.C. this just in, and this is not good. The special counsel, Jack Smith, now obtaining a search warrant, and he wants to see former President Trump's Twitter account in January. According to Fox News, the federal judge held Twitter in contempt for delays.

So Twitter is saying, Yeah, no, we're not cooperating here.

So the company has been fined $350,000. The judge's decision was upheld by a federal appeals court last month in a sealed opinion. A redacted version of that opinion was released today, just a little while ago. According to the court documents, Smith's warrant was served with a non-disclosure order that banned Twitter from notifying anyone about the existence of the warrant. But folks, I'm telling you, this is nuts.

This is absolutely nuts. Twitter initially did not hand over the requested materials when it challenged the non-disclosure order, but the company was unsuccessful. Even though Twitter eventually complied with the warrant, Trump's account was not turned over to Smith's investigation until three days after a court-ordered deadline. Do you feel like we're living in some sort of a different country right now? Are you starting to get that vibe, that feel that something is just not right here?

And by the way, this Jack Smith guy, he looks like right out of central casting as the evil guy who would kill people. He is a devious-looking dude. The 34-page opinion from the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, they rejected Twitter's contention that the non-disclosure order violated the First Amendment. And the federal judge who issued the warrant, Judge Beryl Howell, should have stopped it from being served until the dispute was resolved.

So basically, they're going after Trump's Twitter feed, and I'm not sure what he thinks he's going to find, because again, going back to J6, we have plenty of evidence that Donald Trump was telling everybody to protest peacefully, period.

So we'll see what this is really all about. But they want to stifle free speech in America. And the fact that the federal government believes they've got a right to go to Twitter and say, hey, we want to look at Donald Trump's Twitter account from last January. Uh-uh. That's not right.

That's not how we do things in the United States of America. All right.

Again, our number 844-747-8868. That is 844-747-8868. I have to tell you about our good friends over at Newsmax. They are doing such a great job. And by the way, I'll be anchoring primetime on Friday, heading up to New York after tomorrow's show.

President Trump says you've got to get a copy of this book before the next election. And my apologies. We're dealing with yet another Comcast phone outage. We're in the process of relocating to another service, and it's taking a while for them to do that.

So we're going to have these periodic outages, and there's literally nothing we can do about it. Comcast, which is owned by NBCUniversal, tells us that the outage seems to only be impacting my national radio program. And it happens during the show itself.

So you can take that for what it's worth. If you want to believe it's a coincidence, you're a moron. But it looks to me like this is very intentional, and we're dealing with that. But right now the phones are out. You say, well, wait a second.

How are the lawmakers and your guests able to get on?

Well, we have another way to do that. But unfortunately, just the general public cannot use that particular line.

So it's a little complicated, as it's been told to me. And there you go. But it's really a shame. And if I were you, I would reach out to Comcast and give them a piece of your mind and then cancel your service. That's what we're going to be doing very soon.

So, and it's just, you know, it's easy to allow yourself to get angry over these things. But this is what we have to deal with as conservatives in America. And I will say this. The senior vice president for HR, not HR, for communications called me. And they were, oh, we're just so sorry.

It's just a coincidence. Really? it's just a coincidence that a conservative talk radio program that spends thousands of dollars every year on some of the top Comcast wiring and phone services and whatever, you're telling me it's just a coincidence that for the past six months now, we have been dealing with these outages that only happened at the start of the show. You're telling me that's just a coincidence, or you actually want me to believe that. Oh, yes, yes, it's just a coincidence.

I don't believe in coincidences, not one bit.

So anyway, we're working, but there's, again, not much we can do.

So you bear with us. By the way, you can comment on our social media page over at Facebook. Go to ToddStarnes.com, and you'll see links to all of our social media platforms. and we would love for you to leave us a message. And we'll be reading some of those in the next hour of the program.

By the way, Michael Youssef, the great pastor out of Atlanta, is going to join us in the next hour. Certainly looking forward to having him on the program and has a big new project out, and we're going to tell you all about that. Teresa weighing in on social media, talking about Robert E. Lee and his horse, She goes, oh, heck no. The horse is innocent.

He does what he's told. This is true. It's a great point. But again, I think the reason, Teresa, the reason why the horse is being spit upon, if you will, is because of the color of its fur. That's all.

Kimberly says, don't let woke people change the English we are so used to using. looking to see how other countries disallowed Ukrainians to use their own language. Jim says, it's way out of hand, all of this woke nonsense. Jeff says, really beating a dead horse. Lexington, Virginia used to be a nice place to visit.

Now even VMI has gone woke. Is that true? VMI, the Virginia Military Academy has gone woke? I mean, that's insane. But it's true, folks.

I'm telling you, this wokeness and this cancel culture mob, it will be the death of America unless we do something about it. All right, I've got to tell you about what's happening in New York City. Oh, this is great. Brooklyn, New York, my old stomping grounds, the most liberal place in America. And a lot of these liberals are very unpleasant people.

As a matter of fact, my landlord happened to be a conservative Italian guy, and he loved Fox News. and he was so excited to rent me a little apartment in his um he had like a little tiny apartment uh kind of brownstone thing and he said look todd i'm gonna rent this to you but you gotta promise me this one thing he says you can't tell the neighbors what you do for a living you can't do it he said they'll run me out of the neighborhood i said all right you know what i'll tell you what i'm just gonna make up his name is not luigi but i'm gonna luigi i'm gonna do that for you. But somebody found out. I don't know how they found out. And one day, some guy comes up to me, and I'm checking my mail, and the guy comes over.

He kind of saddles up right next to me and says, hey, I know what you do for a living. And I'm like, oh, crap. I thought I was going to get shot. I didn't know what was going on. And then I said, okay.

And he says, I want you to know, I support fracking. And then the guy leaves. I'm like, what? What? Fracking?

What? What? These people. I don't understand. Anyway, it's a crazy neighborhood.

We had an organic mayonnaise store. These people are not so liberal.

So anyway, the story is that New York City has moved a bunch of illegal aliens into Brooklyn, and they're housing them at a community center in Brooklyn. and the liberals, the rich liberals, are going bonkers. They are enraged. As a matter of fact, you have lawmakers there who are Democrats who represent the area, and they're saying this is not fair. They were not consulted.

And they're enraged because their beloved park is now housing illegals.

Now, the news is all over this. And one of the things that the liberals are upset about is that it's a small family. It's a neighborhood. You know, Brooklyn is just a bunch of neighborhoods. And it turns out that all of the men, all the people that are being housed at this community center are grown men, like able-bodied men.

And now they're freaking out about it. Got to tell you, sounds a little xenophobic if you ask me, right? That's what Trump, remember Trump, he was like, hey, they're not sending the best and the brightest across that border, right? And Trump got the what for? I mean, they called him every name.

How dare you? These are good and wonderful people who just want a better life until they move to your neighborhood. And that's the thing, right? I mean, in New York, it's a sanctuary city. They asked for this.

They embraced the words inscribed on Lady Liberty's tablet. Give us your tired and your poor, your illegal aliens yearning to be free. Send them all over. We'll take them. But here's the thing.

the folks in New York never thought that the illegals would actually take them up on the offer. Right.

They thought, hey, this is a border state problem.

Well, I got news for all you people in Brooklyn. You're a border state now. Congratulations.

So anyway, we don't know what's going to happen here. New York City is freaking out and they don't even have maybe, maybe they've got a thousand illegals. I mean, they're not dealing with a couple of million people coming across the border that the folks in Brownsville and the other border cities have to deal with. They don't have anything to worry about. Anyway, it's once again another example of the left wing maxim, ladies and gentlemen.

Do as I say, not as I do. By the way, all you illegals, I would recommend going down to Fifth Avenue and visiting a lot of the liberals down. They love congregating on Fifth Avenue. That's kind of their jam spot in Brooklyn. It's going to freak people out.

All right, we've got to take a break here, folks. Again, our telephone number, 844-747-8868, if you can get through. If you don't mind helping us out, send a note to Comcast and tell them, shame on you for censoring the Todd Stern Show. Dr. Michael Youssef coming up next.

I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. We're just honored to have a great guest. He is a pastor of the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta. He has a brand-new book coming out in November called How to Read the Bible, As If Your Life Depends on It. That's going to be good.

His name is Dr. Michael Youssef. Dr. Yousef, great to have you back with us. Oh, what a great to be back with you, Todd.

Thank you so much. Had a wonderful time last. Is it Christmas before last? And just a wonderful time visiting with you and your staff. And just what a great church you all have there.

Well, thank you so much. We are blessed indeed. Yeah, we're standing up as a beacon for biblical truth in the middle of this city. You know, Pastor, I was reading an article where you are warning about something that I am very passionate about. You warn about biblical illiteracy and how dangerous that is, not just for America, but really for the world.

Yes, absolutely. And it is rampant. My wife and I just came back from Europe. we were helping gearing up for a big crusade going on to be in Dublin and Belfast next month and I'm meeting with pastors, I'm meeting with leaders and I'm trying to get them all motivated to make sure to bring unsaved people to come and so forth and I tell you, everywhere I travel I found that this biblical illiteracy is more common than you realize it's not just in the United States and I was talking to this interviewer the article you're referring to and I was saying we've got to measure everything by the word of God not by what Dr. Smelfungus said and then she said well wait a minute how can you measure everything by the word of God people don't read the word of God and I stopped and I said you're exactly right that illiteracy 10% of Christians apparently read the bible every day 18% would read it maybe once or twice a week and I said all these statistics if they're true they're very depressing because what we're doing we're preparing the ground level of course we got in the World Economic Forum is doing that from a global perspective preparing the world for the Antichrist and we're in the church with our apostasy and deconstruction and lack of biblical knowledge we're preparing the way for him too and so it's really that's why I wrote this book I tell people, it normally takes me six months to write a book.

This book has taken me 50 years to write how to read the Bible as if your life depends on it. Because it's a distillation of what I have learned through the years, that the Bible is a one-unit Bible. It's not all the New Testament. It's one book. And the Old Testament says Jesus is coming.

The New Testament said he's here. And you cannot get unhits from the Old Testament, as some preachers are trying to say. You cannot pick and choose. It's not a smorgasbord. And that is what's going to get us into trouble.

I'm pleading with everybody who listens. And if you have a problem understanding the Bible, and I know a lot of people genuinely do, this book is so simple that a high school student can read it and will say, oh, I got it. I understand. I see this one theme throughout the book. And so that's my longing of my heart.

It just seems to me, and this is sort of the view from the pew, Dr. Youssef, is that there's been this dumbing down of Christianity in America. I was watching a sermon a couple of weeks ago, and the pastor and his wife showed up on, I guess she's a co-pastor as well, and this is a megachurch, and they were dressed like Disney characters. And I'm thinking, really? Is that what church has become, some sort of an entertainment venue now?

yeah yeah that entertainment started you know with willow creek and it just really kind of continued and now everybody else is thinking this is the way to draw a crowd well the problem is not to draw a crowd it's not only if you make disciples uh jesus said don't go out and draw a big crowd he said go and make disciples you know and i'm blessed to have a megachurch so there's not i'm not talking down megachurches but you can have a megachurch that is biblically sound that's biblically, and to see now the shallowness that are coming from so many pulpits, and they really think this is the way to communicate. I don't know what they're communicating, but certainly they're not communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ, of which the apostle Paul said, I am not ashamed of that gospel. You see, the gospel is so powerful, and it's got sharp edges, that some people can be ashamed of it, and therefore they have to water it down. They have to modify it. They have to tinker with it.

No. He said the reason I'm not ashamed of the gospel, because it is a power. The power is not in the preacher. I don't care how good communicator he or she may be. It's a power in the gospel itself.

And that's the message that we just desperately need to shout from the rooftops. Dr. Michael Youssef is on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line, has a brand new book coming out in November, which you can pre-order, How to Read the Bible as If Your Life Depends on It, and sat down for an interview with our friends over at Christian Post talking about this biblical illiteracy issue. And this is not a matter of whether or not you can read or write. This is a matter about, are you reading the Bible?

Is that right, Dr. Youssef? Absolutely. And you've got to read it for all it's worth, because the Bible—and I understand when new believers come in here and we try to work with them we try to give them aid we show them i mean you can start like one guy came to see me and he said what is this book of leviticus uh all about i said well it's the leviticus but let me let me explain to you what the the ceremonies are and so forth and and uh and so we we do need to help people but there's got to be a willingness got to be a desire on the part of pastors to help people understand the Bible instead of dumbing it so down that it almost indistinguishable from a little comic book I often wondered about the issues with the sex and the gender crowd and now they infiltrating the Church and even you know I a Southern Baptist and even our denomination is dealing with these issues now, and never in a million years would I have thought that we would be questioning what the Bible says about those issues. My goodness, Todd, you're exactly right, and I'm about to turn 75, and I would never have, even 10 years ago, If you told me that an evangelical church, a prominent evangelical church, who got a person who went through the surgery from being a man to a woman, and then allowed them to take the pulpit to give a testimony, and after that testimony they rebaptized that person as a woman.

And I would, I mean, it's like you have to pinch me. Am I on this planet or am I on another planet? What's going on? And this is really, it's almost an invasion of the old gods of Babylon and the old gods of Canaan and the Assyrians are invading our culture. And the reason they are back, Baal and Ashtaroth and Moloch, is back in our Western world today, is because we have ceased to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The reason all these gods went out in Rome in the last almost 2,000 years is because of the preaching of the gospel in Rome. These gods disappeared into the wilderness.

Now they're back with vengeance, and the goddess of sexuality, and the goddess of prosperity, and the goddess of offering children, Moloch, and some people offering their children not just for abortion, but they're offering their children for this transgender surgery. and it's a very really real and what they did what these gods basically are a storefront for Satan but what these gods did to Israel when the Israelites went after them they destroyed the country destroyed the nation these are the people who were redeemed by God from the slavery of Egypt miracle after miracle and he brings them into the wilderness and he said when you go into the promised land do not, do not, do not run after Baal In Judges chapter 2, it said, as soon as they had gotten there, they ran after Baal and forsook the God, Elohim, a God who brought them out of Egypt, the God who redeemed them, the God who loved them, the God who provided everything for them until even the sandals and the feet were not wearing out, or clothes they were wearing were not wearing out. This powerful, mighty God, they thought, Baal, oh, he's going to give us prosperity. He's the God of fertility. Ashtaroth is the tempter, the sexual god, the god of sexuality and transgender, because Ashtaroth actually, which is Venus in the Roman culture, saw herself as a man and a woman.

I'm a man and I'm a woman. And that is the god of confusion that is invading Western civilization, which is built on the Reformation.

Well, you're right about that. And one final point before we have to ramp here, Dr. Youssef, I'm curious about where all of this goes, and how does that play, this issue of people not reading the Bible and churches that are not reading the Bible on Sunday mornings? How does that impact the United States of America at large?

well from my point of view and look I probably have a different eschatological view from others but we love each other we have different variety of views or dispensational views or premillennialist views amillennialist and so forth they're all fine I have no problem with any of them but I think when the Bible talks about the Antichrist which Daniel originally talked about and then Jesus in the Olivet Discourse Matthew 24 and 25 talked about, and he quoted Daniel, and then John in the book of Revelation referred him as the beast. I mean, eventually, he's going to rise, and he's not going to rise to a Christian culture that is biblically literate. They know the word of God, and they're not going to be deceived, but because they're so confused, they're going to believe him, especially if he performs few miracles, and that is, I mean, thank God the Bible does not leave it there. It says Jesus returns and his might enter Christ. But nonetheless, we need to be vigilant, need to be vigilant.

The reason I'm beginning to think now that we may be coming toward the end times because I have ministry, as you know, Todd, in the Middle East, the whole television station and 225 million homes in Arabic. And we see Muslim people coming to Christ by the thousands at the risk of their own lives. And yet here, after COVID, they say 30% of people, Christians, are not going back to church. And say, huh? It could be God preparing the world for the return of Christ from his point of view, but also what is going to give rise to the Antichrist, and it's going to make it possible for him to walk in the park, is this ignorance of the word of God, where people, Jesus said, don't be deceived, Don't be deceived.

Don't be deceived. They will be deceived if they don't get on with it and study the Word of God as if their life depends on it. All right.

Well, it's fascinating stuff, and I want to get you back soon, and especially for your new book coming out in November. And folks, you can preorder that, How to Read the Bible as if Your Life Depends on It, wherever you buy your books. You can also go to ltw.org. That's ltw.org. Dr.

Yusuf, always great having you on the show. Great joy for me to be with you, brother. Thank you again. All right.

Dr. Michael Youssef, ladies and gentlemen, founder and president of Leading the Way. And of course, he is the founder and pastor of the Church of the Apostles. Had a wonderful time. Such gracious people.

And they just are just wonderful. Just a wonderful event there in Atlanta. All right.

So we've got to take a quick break here. 844-747-8868 is our telephone number. That's 844-747-8868. You know, one of the things that we really appreciate here on the Todd Starnes Radio program are folks that are making an impact, making a difference. And that's why we support Patriot Mobile, America's only Christian conservative wireless carrier.

So they're fighting for causes that we care about. And that's one of the reasons I want to encourage you to consider switching to Patriot Mobile.

Now, a lot of people say, what about the coverage? They have great coverage. But if you're not clear, if you're not certain, all you have to do is go to the website, patriotmobile.com slash Todd. That's patriotmobile.com slash Todd. You can type in your zip code, and they will show you what the coverage looks like in your area.

It's very simple. By the way, are you a veteran? Are you a first responder?

Well, the good news, Patriot Mobile is going to give you a discount, and everybody who signs up, we're going to give you a free gift, and you are going to get free premier activation. That's, again, the website, patriotmobile.com slash Todd. Use the promo code Todd, and you're going to unlock all of these great opportunities. That's patriotmobile.com slash Todd. All right, welcome back.

And I will say this, and we're looking at workarounds. Comcast, if you missed the last hour, and you know what? We're just going to be transparent as we can here. We have been dealing with a very bizarre issue with Comcast, which is owned by NBCUniversal. and they conveniently tell us that our phones are down whenever we launch our show.

And it is a weird thing and it is an angry thing. We are very upset about this and we're doing whatever we can do. And I don't want to get the attorneys involved yet, but if we have to, we're going to because this is just not right. We are paying for a service and it seems as though very – and they tell us it's just a coincidence that the phones go down during your show. But I don't believe in coincidences, especially when it comes to the people over at MSDNC.

I don't believe it. I do not believe it.

So we're looking for workarounds. One of those happens to be on our app.

So if you would like to weigh in on one of the topics we're talking about, you can go and download our app. And we have something called a shout back.

So you can give us a shout out by using the app. And we're able to play those back. and we will do that through the show.

So again, that is one way to do it is to download the app and you say, well, how can I do that? Very simple. Go to kwamradio.com, kwamradio.com. Click on the app, download it. It'll take you like maybe 30 seconds to do.

And we would love for you to do that and you can leave us a shout back and we're going to keep you updated on this. But I'm telling you, Comcast, you're on my list. I can promise you that right now. All right, coming up, we're going to jump into some brand new information about President Trump. We now understand we're getting some new intel on this indictment that's coming down.

And the indictment is coming down next week, we believe, from Atlanta. And if I sound slightly distracted, apparently the phones miraculously have been turned right back on. You see what I'm talking about, folks? I'm telling you, Comcast, they're playing with us. And I tell you, they're playing with us.

It's – they're just – I'm a little flustered right now. All right, we've got to take a break. Phone lines allegedly back, 844-747-8868. We will go to your phone calls coming up, if Comcast allows us. 844-747-8868.

This is the Todd Stern Show. We're so far above everybody else in the polls. They're all saying, is he going to go into the debate? And I say, I don't know, if you're leading by 50 and 60 and 70 points, do you do that or not? I don't know.

Should I? OK, you ready? Poll. We take a free poll. Should I do the debate?

Well, maybe we'll do something else. You know, see, some people say yes, but they hate to say it because it doesn't make sense to do it if you're leading by so much. But they like it for entertainment value because they're selfish. They're selfish.

Well, it's a fair point. By the way, Fox Business has now been chosen as the second Republican debate. And my question is why? By the way, it's going to be at the Reagan Library, which is under the control of radical establishment types now. But I'm curious why they chose FBN.

which has absolutely no audience. Newsmax is much larger and has a much larger audience than Fox Business. As a matter of fact, so does CNN and MSDNC. I mean, that's the dirty secret about Fox is that Fox Business has no audience, and they never have. I mean, it's really unfortunate.

Not a bad product. It's just nobody wants to watch it. and in a way now it's just a vanity project, and they can't bear the publicity they would get if they shut down the whole network, but it's hemorrhaging money.

So anyway, Fox Business, FBN as they call it, will be hosting the second of the two debates, and we will have a reporter boots on the ground at both of these debates to bring you some fresh insight. But I'm curious to know from you, ladies and gentlemen, Do you believe President Trump should be debating? Should he show up? He's, what, 50 points ahead in some cases. He has a massive, massive lead over all the candidates.

Chris Christie now tied with Ron DeSantis in, of all places, New Hampshire. And DeSantis' campaign is in a free fall right now.

So I'm curious to hear from you. 844-747-8868. that's 844-747-8868, whether Donald Trump should show up and debate. Personally, I would love to see that happen. I think it's good for President Trump, and it's good for the other candidates.

They need to know what it's like to be under the hot lights and to be able to take incoming fire. And a lot of those guys and gals, they haven't been able to do that, right? They go out there and they hem and haw.

Some of them won't even call Trump out by name. Trump calls people out by name. That's what that's all about.

So I'm curious to know from you whether you believe that Donald Trump should, in fact, debate the other Republicans. In the meantime, some new information coming out. By the way, the New York Times now reporting as well on this Twitter story, and this is just bizarre. But it turns out that Jack Smith, the special counsel, actually sent a search warrant to Twitter headquarters back in January demanding Trump's Twitter information. This was also being reported by Politico, and I think they got the story first, so we'll give them credit.

Kyle Cheney is the writer, and he says Twitter initially resisted complying with the warrant. The warrant was issued on January 17th, and it resulted in a federal judge holding Twitter in contempt, and they were fined $350,000.

Now, last month, the federal appeals court upheld that fine in a sealed opinion.

So they're doing all of this behind closed doors. You are not supposed to know anything about this, ladies and gentlemen. On Wednesday, the court unsealed a redacted version of the opinion that revealed details of the secret court battle. Although Twitter ultimately complied with the warrant, the company did not fully produce the requested information until three days after a court-ordered deadline. the district court held twitter in contempt and imposed a 350 000 sanction for its delay do you think they would have well first of all if elon musk had not have owned the company they would have twitter would have given them whatever they wanted to because we're talking about trump here all right let's go to the phones here 844-747-8868 tracy in memphis tennessee listening to us on kwam tracy should trump debate heck yes i said that two months ago yes he needs to debate and if he's listening get on that floor and debate because like you say you're winning so do a double whammy hit on with the double whammy get up there and debate and uh it's very entertaining i must say that i'm selfish i'm sorry but i do by the way have a two brothers that um one's in Georgia, who's a cop, and another in Tennessee who owns his own business.

And guess what? They're going to vote for Trump. Is that right?

Now, will this be their first time voting for Trump? Oh, I think we may have lost Tracy. All right.

Well, Tracy, give us a call back there. Our phone lines are a little spotty today. Again, our number is 844-747-8868. That's 844-747-8868. All right, we're going to regroup.

We will take a break. Again, MyPillow.com slash Starnes, and be sure to use the promo code Starnes when you place your order. All right, Ann Coulter has a message for Republicans, and this is something that we need to pay attention to.

So yesterday, big election in Ohio, and there was an item on the ballot regarding a referendum on constitutional amendments.

Now, right now, I believe it takes 50 plus one if you are going to change something in the Constitution. The pro-life crowd wanted to make that a 60. You needed 60, right? Not 50 plus one. You needed 60.

And that measure failed. It's Ohio's issue number one. It was a 14-point loss. It was pretty brutal. I mean, it was not even close.

So I want to read this from media. Ann Coulter now offering a stark warning to Republicans in the wake of this defeat from the pro-life movement in Ohio. She goes, quote, since Dobbs voters have not approved abortion restrictions in any state. They've rejected abortion restrictions in Kentucky, Montana, Michigan, Kansas, Vermont and California and now Ohio. Are you seeing a pattern here, ladies and gentlemen?

Coulter shared a graphic from the New York Times showing a 14-point loss for Ohio's issue one referendum. The GOP-backed referendum would have increased the threshold to amend the state's constitution from a simple majority to a 60 percent supermajority of state voters. The Associated Press explained the vote's relevance to the fight over abortion going on across the nation since Roe v. Wade was overturned. While abortion was not directly on the special election ballot.

The results mark the latest setback for Republicans in a conservative leaning state. Ohio Republicans placed the question on the summer ballot in hopes of undercutting the citizen initiative that voters will decide in November that seeks to enshrine abortion rights in the state of Ohio.

So there we go. And it's only going to get worse. Mark my words. Cut number 11. There used to be a standard that I would have had to been criminally prosecuted for something, neglecting my duties, meaning that I don't show up for work and do my job, or that I had some sort of an illness that prevented me from doing my job.

But under this tyranny, elected officials can be removed simply for political purposes and by a whim of the governor, and no matter how you feel about me, you should not be okay with that. This is simply a smokescreen for Ron DeSantis' failing and disastrous presidential campaign. He needed to get back in the media in some positive way that would be red meat for his base, and he will have accomplished that today. he will be in the news nationally and internationally for the individual who has single-handedly destroyed democracy in the state of Florida. All right, we're going to get to her in just a moment, but I want to get back.

Sorry, I had a little coughing fit there, ladies and gentlemen. I want to get back to this abortion story, and this is going to be a big deal because the pro-life movement is adamant about this. They are going to push for a complete and total ban on abortion, even if it means the destruction of the Republican Party and the conservative movement. That's where this is going.

Now, the question is this. Is that the right move? Or is it better to play smart politics here? And I'll give you an example. There was an effort by the pro-life organization in Kansas to place a ban on abortion in that state.

And it was not good. It was not well received. the Republican leadership, which happens to be all very pro-life, they went to the pro-life group and said, hey, look, we understand what you want to do here, but it is not the time. And if you do this, you are going to lose and you will lose big. And we will probably end up losing Republican seats as a result of this.

So just wait and let's do this. Let's think smartly about this. the state pro-life group said no as a matter of fact they said republicans if you do not support us in this initiative we are going to campaign to have you removed from office so i mean so what are you going to do if you're a republican so we try on this radio program to encourage people to play smart politics, but even I get the what for. We knew it, Starnes. You're just pro-abortion.

Well, that's a load of hooey. It's simply not true. But I can tell you this, every single time this has gone for a vote, as Ann Coulter has said, every time it has gone down in defeat. And why is that because the pro-life movement does not have a plan. They did not have a post-Roe plan.

And you need to have a plan. You know, we talked about this fight going back to the states. All right.

Well, what is the move now? How do you play this? Because right now it's not working. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose pushed issue number one and blamed out-of-state Democrats for the defeat. Quote, we were dramatically outspent by dark money billionaires from California to New York, and the giant for sale sign still hangs on Ohio's constitution.

Coulter disagrees and pointed to a groundswell of support in the country against statewide laws aimed at restricting abortions. Quote, by the time Republicans notice states keep voting in favor of abortion, there will be no elected Republicans left. Ohio makes it seven.

So many of you are going to be angry to hear this, but Ann Coulter is right. We've got to figure this out. I don't believe that abortion should be legal anywhere, but we've got to go about this smartly. And the way it's going right now is not smart. 20 U.S.

states have laws in place that ban or restrict abortion after the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs although to Coulter's point those restrictions were not the result of a statewide vote that took place after Dobbs so the question now and again for Ohio it is now a moot point but I'm telling you folks if we do not play smart politics here there will not be a Republican Party and all you have to do is look at what's happened it has been ugly ugly all right 844-747-8868 is our phone number that's 844-747-8868 back to this audio you just heard from the state attorney her name is Monique Worrell and she has now been suspended from her office by Governor Ron DeSantis and it's creating quite the controversy in Florida. But DeSantis is playing a hardball now and says, you know what? She wasn't doing. She was not doing her job and she needed to be suspended. And that's exactly what happened.

According to the New York Times, DeSantis accused her of being lenient towards violent criminals. And how many times have we heard that before? I mean, all over the place, you're hearing of these radical leftists who refuse to go after the criminals. Mr. DeSantis, or Governor DeSantis, rather, suspended Wuerl.

Her area includes Orange and Osceola counties. And he pointed out three cases and a low overall incarceration rate. One of the three cases involved a man who shot and injured two Orlando police officers over the weekend.

So good for you, Governor DeSantis. Proud of you for taking a stand. And by the way, I think the governor's done a pretty darn good job as governor. Maybe he ought to just think about sticking to it, right? DeSantis says prosecutors have a certain amount of discretion about which cases to bring and which not.

But what this state attorney has done is abuse that discretion and has effectively nullified certain laws in the state of Florida.

So good for you, Governor. And who knows, maybe just maybe the new guy will start putting away the criminals. Wow.

All right.
