From the Liberty University studio in Memphis, Tennessee. It's America's favorite cunt-totant Bible-clinging deplorable American. That's it! That's right. I love this American.
Todd Starnes. All right.
Well, it seems to me there's really only one question of the day, ladies and gentlemen. Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Sterns Radio Program.
So very happy to have you with us today. We've got a lot happening, a lot going on, and a lot of great guests coming by. Congressman Ben Klein from the House Freedom Caucus is going to drop by. Also, Chadwick Moore, who is the biographer of Tucker Carlson, is going to join us in just a little while in a fascinating, fascinating conversation about a new book he's writing and also the attacks that he's facing from the people inside the Fox News corner of the world. Also, I want to welcome all of our brand new listeners on radio station KOZI.
That's over in Washington State. We're honored to have you guys joining us. And as we do with all of our brand new radio stations, if you call in and you make it on the air, we're going to hook you up with a Todd Stern. Show prize package is just our way of saying welcome to the neighborhood to all of our friends out in the Pacific Northwest at radio station KOZI.
So last night, we got the official word that Democrats. And a majority of Democrats voted for the McCarthy-Biden debt ceiling increase. Keep in mind, ladies and gentlemen, that it was a majority of the Democrat Party that gave McCarthy his victory, not the Republican Party. It was the Democrats. And there's a lot of anger, there's a lot of frustration, and a lot of people believe that this is going to go away, that the rank-and-file Republicans are going to forget about this.
The average American doesn't even care about it, they don't even know what a debt ceiling is. And so they think that ultimately we're just going to forget about this, and life is going to go on. They are Thinking that you and I are forgetting that the House Freedom Caucus. promised us That they would hold McCarthy accountable. And that if he pulled a fast one like the one he pulled over the weekend, the Memorial Day weekend, that there would be a price to pay.
By the way, we're getting word, and this is from the reporting of Axios. That Kevin McCarthy, to secure the votes of the Democrats, Had to make a deal.
Now, McCarthy's office is refuting this. They're saying, no, this did not happen. But Axios is quoting four Democratic lawmakers who said they were told of a deal. And the deal involved boosting federal funding for projects in Democrat districts. We call that pork barrel spending.
Earmarks But the agreement was only if Democrats voted to advance the bill, which McCarthy did.
Now, McCarthy says that's not true, but you got four Democrats, and I have to tell you folks: Democrats, you may not like their politics, but at least they don't lie to you. When the Democrats tell you what they're going to do if they get elected, they deliver. Republicans, not so much. No, I'm not willing to call them liars just yet, Ben Dieter, but they're untruthful. I'll just leave it at that.
They're untruthful.
So first of all, I want to say thank you to all of the Republicans, the seventy one Republicans, who voted against this. To the rest of you, shame on you. Go join the Democrats. A pox on your household. That's what I say.
Yeah. But we're really not all that surprised, are we? We're not really surprised.
So the question is, what's going to happen next? Is it possible that someone could call for the chair to be vacated and Kevin McCarthy could be removed from the speakership? Is that even remotely possible? Would you want to see that happen?
Now, I have a theory about all of this. I think Kevin McCarthy has been concerned about that from day one. But McCarthy knew that if he could reach some sort of a deal, a backroom deal with the Democrats, That he could get away with all of this. Because, folks, understand the spending, the debt ceiling going up $4 trillion. $4 trillion.
So here's what I think happened. I think McCarthy made this deal with the Democrats, but there is a caveat, and here's the caveat, that if there was a call to vacate the chair, that enough Democrats would switch over and save McCarthy's hide. And that's why McCarthy did this. He knew that he had it in the bag, and he knew that if the Republicans and especially in the House Freedom Caucus raised a stink, that he would have Democrats switching sides to save his hide. It really is a despicable deal that McCarthy has done here.
As one Democrat said and told Bloomberg, The Democrats rolled Kevin McCarthy. That's what happened. And and now everybody's moving on. I be Fox News, Bride Part, everybody's moving on. They want to get away from this as fast as humanly possible.
Matter of fact, McCarthy's office was playing hard ball With a lot of conservative talk radio host. And they were passing out talking points. I actually was sent the talking points as if I'm going to be spewing talking points on this radio program. You know what I did? I just put it to hold on.
I'll give you an example. I will show you right now exactly. What I did was With With the talking points coming from McCarthy's office. I took it in my hands. And I crumple it up.
And I threw it in the circular.
Okay, that was the fan. I can't see. What do you want me to do? I'm a tacos, not a basketball star. We don't do that here on this program.
And by the way, and I don't say shame on you, talk radio hosts. You do you, we'll do us. But we don't work off of talking points on this program. By the way. Did you see the there's some interesting video coming?
I'm getting off on a side here, but speaking of talk radio host, you know, a lot of the conservative talk radio world is throwing in for Ron DeSantis. And We're trying to be fair and balanced here. I've been very upfront. This is what cracks me up about these people.
So there's one photograph going around. And it shows a very well-known talk radio host who also happens to be on Fox News a lot. He's sitting in the front row of this Ron DeSantis gathering, and I believe it was at the Four Seasons Hotel. And the cost of admission into this thing was about five, ten thousand dollars. I'm like, geez, So someone posted the photograph.
There's been a lot of blowback on social media. And the talk radio host says, No, no, no, no, I just do this all the time. I go to all of these gatherings. Really? Really?
You pay $5,000 to go sit in the front seat? You know what we do here on this program? We invite them to come on our show. We don't charge them, they don't charge us. Again, You want to play that way, that's hey, more power to you.
We just don't do that on this radio program. Mm-hmm. And give Any given day, I'm going to have Republicans mad at me, Democrats mad at me, you get mad at me, but at least you know where I'm coming from. Yeah. And I believe that our anger is righteous.
Because the Republicans are in the process of jettising Every single thing that That got them where they are. Culture war issues, marriage. Abortion You name it, they're trying to get those things out of the party platform.
So the only thing left, the only thing, the only thing left. is fiscal responsibility. And now we can't even do that.
So, my question to the Republican Party: what is the point? What makes you different? Than the Democrats. Seriously. What makes you different than the Democrats?
If you're spin and again, it's I get it. You go to Washington, D.C., you get elected, you get invited to the cocktail parties. They shower you with all this lobbyist money. And I know it's easy to turn your back on the American taxpayers. But don't you have a soul?
Don't you have a a conscience? Don't you don't you feel a little I don't know. Bad? I don't know, maybe you don't have souls. It's it's really frustrating.
But I have a question for you. This is a very simple question. And trust me when I tell you, the House Freedom Caucus. Folks are listening to us right now. I have a question for you.
Should Kevin McCarthy keep his job? It's a very simple question, yes or no?
Now, they're betting that you don't care. That you knew this was going to happen all along. And that it was all a big show. It was political theater. And by the way, speaking of that, Janet Yellen, remember what she said?
We're going to run out of money on June 1st? It's going to be the end of the world. Oh, my run for the hills. Ladies and gentlemen, it's June 5th. I mean, it's June 1st, right?
Oh, I meant June 5th! No, we're gonna we're gonna run out of money! We're gonna default! We're gonna be trading rocks and berries! It's all theater.
All theatre of the mind.
So, we're going to take a break here. And I want to open up the phone lines this hour of the show. We've got a lot of guests coming up later, but I want this hour to be a conversation between you and me. Do we give Kevin McCarthy another shot here, or is it time for him to go? 844-747-8868.

Um Mm-hmm. All right, the question, very simple, folks. Kevin McCarthy. He used the Democrats to shove through this debt ceiling increase that Joe Biden wanted, made secret deals. With the Democrats to make sure he got their votes.
Meanwhile, 71 Republicans stood their ground and they stood up for the American people. Does Kevin McCarthy deserve to keep his job? 844-747-8868. Let's go to Michael in Louisiana. Michael, what say you?
Good morning, Dodd. You nailed it on MacArthur. He'd done just exactly what everybody thought he was going to do, and he should lose his job immediately. But he probably won't. Just like you said, he made a deal with the Democrats and he'll get to keep his job.
Just like always. Nothing ever happens. Big promises and not They're losers, every one of them. It's really beyond repulsive. And I'll tell you, another person I'm really disappointed in is Marjorie Taylor Greene.
I mean, she is completely I mean, she is pledging her allegiance to Kevin McCarthy. I don't know what's going on there, but she is not the same lawmaker she was when she got first got elected. You're right. you know, the Republicans, they put on these uh hearings and and this and that and talk about we're gonna do this, we're gonna do that coaching. But at best they might make a five hundred page report, they get styled away somewhere and nothing ever happens to nobody.
You know, My orchestra being in peace day one. I don't understand all of it. He still hasn't been impeached. Nobody's been impeached because, Michael, remember, it was Kevin McCarthy who said Biden's done nothing wrong here. No reason to impeach Joe Biden.
That tells you all you need to know right there. You're exactly right. Michael, appreciate that call. eight four four seven four seven eighty eight sixty eight. Let's go to Webb in Maine.
All right, Webb, what needs to happen? Hi, Chad. Fire him. He broke his word. He was duly warned And um There's just There should be no decision there.
Webb, were you surprised by what happened? Oh, no, no, he he's the California spaghetti spine. You know, I mean. Number one. Number two, You know, you have to look at people's past actions, never mind their words.
Words are cheap. Actions tell you everything. And the guy is wishy-washy. Always was. We tried to tell folks, but again, we knew this was going to happen.
But I'm telling you, Webb, and we heard it. You could hear the sense of defeat in the voice of Ralph Norman when he was on the program yesterday. And I really don't believe they're even going to try and vacate the chair. They ought to, but I don't think they're going to. Webb, appreciate that call.
Let's go to Newburn, North Carolina. Is it lawn? Yes, this is Ron. Ron, welcome to the program, Ron. What's on your mind?
Well, first of all, Kevin McCarthy's got to go. And all the Republicans that supported. That The ASCO needs to go too. This is what needs to be done. The individual people We the people.
need to and I'm talking about Republicans. You need to contact your local precinct. And county office, Republican office and say, I'm ready to volunteer. If you don't know, don't want to go to the office. If you know a candidate, you need to be looking for candidates now.
to replace those idiots.
Next November. And it's got to start now. Volunteer your time. I don't have a lot of money to get to Canada. But every year in the primary, I'll guarantee I'll go one hundred fifty to two hundred hours volunteer time.
And the same time during the November election, the same number of hours. That's not counting. the number of hours I volunteer in my precinct that ask for it. But you've got to get out and work, and you start now to do things in November of 24th. Yeah, Ron, good for you.
And thank you for calling in. And, Ron, you raise a great point. Forget about calling your congressman. All right, they're lost causes. By the way, my guy, my congressman, he voted with the Democrats.
Unbelievable. Here's what you need to do. You need to contact your local Republican offices. That's what you Ron brings up a great point. Call your local Republican offices and give them an earful.
Every single one of you folks. Let's go to Memphis, Tennessee, James.
Now, James, who is your congressman in the Memphis area? Oh gosh. It's fine. That Jewish guy, I can't think of his name right now. Oh, you've got a Republican Jewish guy and a Democrat Jewish guy.
Oh, David Kustoff. Yeah, David Kustoff voted.
Well, they both they both voted for the uh for the for the increase.
Well Alright. I'm sorry to hear that 'cause uh I voted for him, yeah. I thought he'd do us a good job. But I guess it's like anything else. Ex anybody could be bought, I guess.
whatever they whatever they offer. But same thing we got to remember. Is that The people that are in our off that we vote into this office. They lose their integrity. And when you lose your integrity.
Mm. You can't deal with those kind of people. Because they've lost it. And you know something? That's the only thing that you have that nobody can ever take from you.
At your integrity. The only way you can lose it is if you give it away. And The Republicans have given it away time and time again, and they will never get it back. I don't care how long it goes or whatever, or how many years go. They'll never get it back.
And Democrats are the same dad gunway. But the problem with the Democrats is they've got their voters so blinded that they're gonna go for whether they were alive or dead. Don't make any difference. That's true. And for whatever reason, whenever you die, you always vote Democrat in the afterlife.
I don't know what happens there, but that's the way that works. Yeah, I don't know either. I don't know. But anyway, the main thing we need to remember is. These people have given away their integrity, and they will never get it back.
It's true. Give it away. You'll never get it back. And if you can't get it back, They'll be doing the same thing every year that they have to vote, and they vote against us constantly.
So we need to make a change and like that guy before us. Get out there and challenge these people in the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. But the problem with that is held up Yeah, El Zabos throws under the bus. James, we're going to leave it there. We've got to run for a break, but it's a great word, and I appreciate you listening to our flagship station, KWAM, KWAM.
All right, folks, your say. Does McCarthy stay or go? You get to decide. What do you say? 844-747-8868.
That's our toll-free telephone number. That's 844-747-8868. Oh, geez, Alou. Biden is lost at the Air Force Academy. We'll tell you what happened next.

Use the promo code STARNS. All right, welcome back to the Todd Starns Radio Program. Here is Congressman Tim Burchett of Tennessee weighing in on his no vote on the debt ceiling increase, cut number six. Hey everybody, Tim Burchett. Um Just the big boat on the debt ceiling.
Um I voted no. It I voted no on the original version, and this version, of course, was a lot weaker. I don't know. enough. We're in big trouble.
We can't just kind of nitpick and things. We need to make some serious cuts. Of course, we didn't touch anything with defense, of course. Estimates in CBO, Congressional Budget Office. I don't even find it on my notes.
By the end of 2033, the budget, the deficit will be $50.9 trillion. Folks, we are in some serious trouble, and we just have to admit it, make the cuts. And even, you know, we talked about how it was going to reduce folks on welfare.
Well, the CBO estimated that, in fact, it will increase the number of people on welfare.
So, got some real problems. Voted no. We got to get some serious work. Thank y'all for it. Hey, everyone.
It's Congress. Oh, my word. He needs a little pep in his step, doesn't he? People are really, really distressed about all of this and frustrated, and I get it. But the question is very simple.
Does McCarthy stay or go? 844-747-8868. Let's go to Alabama. Colin is on the line. Colin, what say you?
Fire him immediately. fire everybody that promises us one thing and gives us another something else that includes people, the Freedom Caucus that stops standing up for everything. And everybody needs to get involved in their state level so that we can get some supermajorities and then get a convention of states.
so that we can make it that the legislature the Senate legislature is picked by the your state representatives. And you don't have to worry about lobbying. Yeah. Well, that's a big part of it is once you get to Washington, the first people that show up at the office are a bunch of lobbyists. They've got the little gift basket and a couple of, you know, envelopes packed with cash, and all of a sudden the guy you elected, which you thought was a rock solid conservative, now votes the way the lobbyists told him to vote.
I mean, that's the problem. This lobbying is just legalized bribery. That's all it is. That's it.
So, Colin, do you think the Republicans are going to have the courage to call to vacate the chair? No, there unfortunately from what I have seen because I have only been politically active for about Mm, eight years now. Um Eight, maybe ten years. Republicans don't have any spines except for a couple of them. It's that simple.
They're too worried about being nice. and going with the flow, and they won't stand up for anything. No, they will not. And it's disturbing and it's distressing, but that's the way it goes. And we just have to hold out hope.
I mean, you had 71 that stood their ground, and that's a good number, but we need more. I mean, we really do. Colin, safe travels out there on the roadway, and thank you for listening. And if you are in an area where your local radio station doesn't carry this program, well, you can watch us live on our Rumble channel. You can go to ToddSterns.com and download our podcast.
We're going to give you all three hours of the radio show free of charge. Again, at ToddSterns.com. All right, 844-747-8868 is our telephone number. Have you heard about Fox News channel? This is crazy stuff.
So the ratings are now in a free fall over there. It's been about a month. It seems longer than that, but it's been about a month since Tucker Carlson was fired. And now we understand from the ratings people that the primetime audience is down by about a third. In other words, people aren't coming back.
When O'Reilly left, People thought that was the end right there. They thought that the whole network was going to collapse, but it did not. Tucker comes along, and Tucker's audience. is about the same size as Bill's. But the problem is the landscape, the media landscape has changed.
A lot of people have cut the cord. A lot of people are not watching Fox News anymore. They used to watch younger people. And keep in mind, Fox News channel has a very old audience.
So a lot of those people, Lord love them, they're in glory. And I don't think Fox News is playing on the Heavenly News channel.
So, the problem is, they're not replacing the people that are dying.
So the audience is getting smaller just by nature doing its thing.
So a lot of people are now watching or reading the or listening to the podcast. They're going to conservative websites.
So the conservative audience has been balkanized.
Now, I saw this coming about 10 years ago, 15 years ago. And that's why I started ToddSterns.com and everything we do. is on our website. Everything we do. It's great that we're on the social media platforms and all that stuff, but all of our content is in one place and it is owned by yours truly.
And the reason why we did that is we knew this was coming and we wanted to make sure that people. had a place they could go to that they could trust. That was going to give them good, fair, and balanced journalism.
Now, you know where we're coming from. You know the angle, the perspective. We're very open and upfront about that. But now you've got the balkanization of conservative media and everybody's doing their own thing. And it's not working out for a lot of folks.
But anyway, back to Fox.
So the prime time audience is down by about a third, and they are beginning to really hurt financially. Last night they announced that Kennedy, which is one of the shows on Fox Business, has now been canceled and will not be replaced. They're going to air a rerun of Kudlow. And apparently, a couple of other lesser-known shows also got the acts. And they're not being replaced.
And that is a sign that money is getting very tight. Also reports of maybe some budget cuts in other divisions of Fox News' channel.
So, what's going on here?
Well, Fox gambled. They really did think that you people would not leave Fox. They thought Tucker goes, you stay. They did not realize. That The audience was going to go with Tucker.
And here's the thing: where is the audience going? Because not all of it is going to Newsmax, but most of it has. And Newsmax is crazy. Crushing it right now. And I'm telling you, you are going to, in the coming weeks, you are going to hear some incredible things about what's happening at Newsmax.
So just trust me on that. But I'm telling you that the same thing happened to me when I left Fox Radio. They did not think that the audience would leave. but the audience and the radio affiliates walked right out the door. And why is that?
Because people trusted Tucker. People invested in Tucker. They had a relationship with Tucker. And the same thing with me. People trusted me.
I had a relationship with the affiliates. We actually respected the radio stations that carried our programming.
So What's going to happen next? It's a great question. The audience continues to dwindle. Tucker Carlson has yet to announce where he's going to go. And when he does, I suspect that's when you will see another wave of people leaving Fox News.
But there you go. Breitbart says this is. Not just a ratings collapse, it is a viewer rebellion. Do you find that to be the case? Are you one of those people that left Fox News?
Was it hard for you to do? I mean, for some people, they have it on 24-7. I mean, they're die-hard Fox viewers. Eight four four seven four seven eighty eight sixty eight is our toll free telephone number. That's eight four four seven four seven eighty eight sixty eight.
Oh, today is the start of National Heterosexual Pride Month.
So happy, happy day to all you heteros out there. Ha ha ha ha. That's terrible. Have you heard this story? This is um.
This is coming out of, oh, where is that story? I just had it up here. That's not it. All right, I may have to come back to this story. Oh, here we go.
I f my apologies. It's Thursday.
So the story from NBC News in California, this is the Los Angeles area. Satakoi Elementary School in North Hollywood. They're flying the gay pride flag out in front of the building, the grade school. They're requiring the children, I'm assuming, to pledge allegiance to the rainbow flag. And to the LGBT community for which it stands.
Anyway, what is it? Two spirits under intersex. I can't remember the gay pledge. Anyway, somebody came along and burned the gay pride flag. And now the police are investigating.
Now, here's what's interesting: they're investigating this as a hate crime.
So whoever did this. And basically, it's I mean, it's vandalism, right? If something like this happened at your house. It would be vandalism. which in most cases is a Misdemeanor.
The Valley Bureau of the LAPD Says the pride flag was in a potted plant. The plant had a tiny little gay pride flag, four by six inches.
Well, that is small by pride standards. And they put it in the potted plant container. And somebody set it on fire.
So the plant burned and the flag burned. Nobody's concerned about the plant, though, right? What about this poor little fern? This poor little innocent fern or pansy or whatever? No, not pansy.
I'm sorry. No, not pansies, for God's sake. No, I guess you could burn a pansy, but is that a hate crime, too? I think if the plant had been a pansy. then it probably would have been considered a hate crime as well.
Anyway, they're treating this again just. Follow me here. A teeny tiny little gay pride flag and a pot full of pingcies and It set on fire, and this is a full-blown investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, and they're considering this to be a hate crime. You say, well, Todd, that's a horrible thing. Bernie says, Yes, it is horrible.
And whoever did it ought to. Be caught and punished. But should they spend time in federal prison? That's the question here. Because if this person is arrested and convicted of a hate crime, they will do hardcore time in a federal prison.
I will say this. Whoever is responsible, if they get caught, They'll be doing a harder time than somebody who goes out and opens fire inside a Burlington coat factory. No, Ben, I'm not spec. There's no, I just pulled that department store. I didn't want to say Walmart or Target, so I just said Burling and Codrac.
No, there's nothing ominous about that. I'm just saying. Is that it is The person who did this will face a more severe penalty. than a mass murderer. You w you watch.
You watch. May I just point something out before we go to break here? In the United States of America. Burning a Four by six. teeny tiny rainbow pride flag and a potful of pansies.
is a hate crime. Punishable by multiple years in prison. But it's okay to burn. The American flag. 844-747-8868.
That's our toll-free telephone number. 844-747-8868. This is the Todd Start Show. Let's see, you've applied for our open position for account representative? Yeah, that's the one.
Great. I see you went to UC Berkeley? It was really awesome. We had several sit-ins to protest oppressive capitalism. Oh, and how about your skills for this position?
Oh, yes. I know all about how to spot microaggressions and root out privilege. We don't really do that here. We do accounting and finance consulting. Do you have any safe spaces?
Safe spaces? Yes, where people can go to get away from the colonialist mentality. As long as there's a diversity, equity, and inclusion policy, we'll be fine. Life's too short to waste your time on bad hires. I'm Andrew Krapuchetz, the CEO and founder of RedBalloon.work.

President Biden's over at the Air Force Academy. He's delivering remarks at graduation. And the guy just doesn't look good today. I don't know if they forgot to put whatever the they forgot to juice up the porridge. I don't know.
But he doesn't look good. And there are two separate videos. Where on the first video, he literally has to be physically pointed in the direction of the stage. I mean, they literally had to point his body in the direction of the stage. And then he gets up on the stage and he starts doing that weird, like, Where am I?
And he's looking around, and then he does that weird dementia shuffle. And it's just very odd. You got to go check this out. And we've got two videos for you to see over at over at ToddStarns.com. Oh, it's terrible.
It's sad. He can't help it. The guy's old. Oh, remember we told you about Casey DeSantis? Mrs.
DeSantis. Uh so anyway, she's at this big Iowa event with the husband But she keeps calling her husband the governor. She doesn't refer to her husband as her husband. Cut number 11. But you know, our kids, six, five, and three, are the light of our lives.
I mean, they are the reason why we fight. They give us so much happiness, a little exhaustion now and again. But don't think for a second, when the governor doesn't come home at the end of a long day, I don't hand them to him. He comes in at 8 o'clock after a long day. He always wants to bring something, maybe from Casey's, from somewhere else.
And it's usually a sweet treat, right?
So it's usually when they're going towards their bedtime routine that he decides to come in with a cupcake, which is nice, but it's okay.
So listen, I get questions all the time about the governor. And one of the questions I get asked more than anything else, they say, you know, we see him as a fighter on TV. Do we know whether he is going to be a fighter when he goes up to Washington, D.C. and he's taking on a swamp? And I can tell you it's a good question because I get frustrated too with all of these people in elective office who say they're going to go do something and they go up to Washington and they go rogue.
They don't hold true to what they told the people that they would do. And it's frustrating. But I can tell you, Ron DeSantis always stands up for what's right. He never backs down. He says what he's going to do and he gets it done.
Hello. Is that weird? Am I wrong to think that just sounded weird? There was no like. I don't know, what's the chemistry?
There was no chemistry there. Dieter, are I you brought this to my attention earlier today. It just we it's weird. She never refers to him as her husband. You know, it's one thing if she were to look at the guy and say, Your governor has saved the state of Florida.
It's another thing to be like, you know. The governor and I last night, we were talking. We put the kids down, we pour ourselves a glass of wine, and the governor tells me, like, use Ron's name, Ronnie, what do they call him? I don't know. Rob?
That's what Trump calls him, Rob. Rob DeSantis. Rob. Make the sanctimonious. And then the whole spiel about, I mean, putting the kids out.
I mean, she said her voice was hoarse because she was yelling at the kids. Oh boy. Wow. It's and it was humorous. It didn't get a lot of like big laughs because people were like, okay, where is she going with this?
Does she love her kids? No, she of course she loves her kids, but it was just on and on.
Okay, we get it. The kids are vandalizing government property. Todd, they say she's his secret weapon. Oh, they say she's running she wears the pants in the DeSantis household. I'm just saying, she's running the show.
But just think just think about this, though. Ron comes home from a long day at the office. Casey, I'm home. Oh, hello, Governor. How are you today?
What would you like for dinner, Governor? You wonder. I mean, really? Right? You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, it would be like me calling you station owner all the time. Hello, station owner. Todd says, Good morning, Ben. I go, Good morning, station owner. Station owner, where's my coffee?
Except, we know I get you the coffee. Maybe, maybe he requires her. to call him governor. I don't know. I will ask that question if he ever comes on the program.
I will add that to our list. TikTok, Governor, TikTok. No, I'm not saying anything's bad about it. I'm just saying it's weird, right? I mean, you know, when Ronald Reagan, Ronald Reagan and his wife, she called him Ronnie.
Right? I'm just saying. George W. called his wife Laura. Bill Clinton called his wife a divorce attorney.
Are we gonna take a break? I'm just kidding.
Alright, we'll be right back, America. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starnes. That's right. I love this American Ride. All right.
Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Stearns Radio Program. Very happy to have you with us today. Hope things are going well. Tomorrow, by the way, just a bit of programming housekeeping.
Our good friend Jeff Stein from radio station KXEL, our great affiliate in Waterloo, Iowa, is going to be filling in.
So we always appreciate him. Also, so we'll be at Talkers Mag, we'll be at the Talkers Convention. Happen to be sponsoring that big event, and it's a sold-out show.
So looking forward to speaking to a lot of great American patriots there, great talk show host. I believe we'll see Mary Walters there, also our good buddy Jeff Katz, Harry Hurley.
So a lot of the voices you are familiar with. And then in a couple of weeks, I'll be in New York City. We'll be doing the entire. Entire show there for a full week, and I'll be guest hosting on Newsmax television.
So we've got a lot happening, and we're excited to have you along with us. All right, write down our telephone number. You will need this: 844-747-8868. That is our toll-free telephone number. That's 844-747-8868.
I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Great to have with us from the Daily Wire, my favorite reporter there, Megan Basham. Megan, hope you're doing good today. I'm doing very well. Thanks for having me, Todd.
Now, look, I know, in addition to being like the best reporter on the planet, that's the day job. But the real job, I mean, you're a mom, you got kids. Do you guys do the vacation during the summertime? How does that all work? We do.
I actually we I'm very much looking forward to some vacationing over the 4th of July. But I'll tell you, I'm also working on a book right now.
So, yeah, family's kind of rallying around mom in this really terrible season, let's say.
Well, that's nice.
So, they leave you be? I mean, do you are you one of these people that has to like write a book in silence, or do you like noise and chaos around you? No, no, no. I'm I'm a total silence person. I actually I do earplugs, I do sound cancellation, everything.
So but I work from home, so you have to get used to sort of finding ways to drown out the noise when you're a mom who works from home. You see, this is good to know. I am the complete opposite of you. When I'm writing my books, I have to be in a public setting. There just has to be a lot of noise and chaos.
I'm an odd duck. What can I say? Yeah, that is not me. I am easily distracted. Megan, one of the reasons I love your work, you really are not afraid to jump into the culture war battle.
And it's fascinating how quickly this has exploded onto the national scene. And really, I think mainstream media now talking about these attacks on the culture, the attacks on family. And I guess let's start with the Dodgers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, because there seems to be a lot of blowback over their embracement of this anti-Catholic group. Yeah, and you know, there really should be because I think there's been a point at which we all sort of said, okay. We had reached a détente on this.
Uh L G P Q, the alphabet mafia, we all kind of went There's a lot of us Christians who are not happy about how this issue has developed culturally, but it felt like it was lost, I think. And then what happened is there's been a group that has pushed too far. And you have seen them now say, okay, we're going to mainstream things that aren't just against our Christian faith, but our Literal blasphemous act of mockery. And that's what you're seeing with the Dodgers. And they're not just doing it quietly in their own groups and their own nightclubs anymore.
They're saying, No, this needs to be honored on the field at Dodgers Stadium.
So that's mainstreaming in a way that we have never seen before. And I think in a positive way, to look at the silver lining of how this has developed, is that this has shocked people. I think people did not realize exactly how depraved this group was. And then videos started coming out. I posted a lot of videos.
These were the most sexualized performances you can imagine on a cross.
So they were simulating pole dancing as Jesus hangs on the cross. I mean, some of the things I've looked at this week, I can't even describe to you. I'm not even sure how I would be able to tell you what it was and how obscene it was. Um, on a on a family show.
So I think that the good thing is that shocked the system to some people because we're now way past the idea of, hey, we're just like you, love is love, white picket fences, we just want to be able to have families that look like yours. This is not that. And I think that that has been a reality check for some people. I hope so. I hope it's been a wake-up call, and that people understand that, really, going all the way back to the Supreme Court decision, redefining what God defined, that was the slippery slope.
And now, I mean, a legal argument could be made based on what the Supreme Court did. An argument could be made. How dare you? And who are you to say you have a right to tell us? How we can live our life and who we can love.
And it's a valid point, thanks to the Supreme Court. Right. And I think a lot of people said this is the direction it will go, and that was dismissed. It was no, no, no. These are people who just want families just like yours And now we're saying no, what it has done is created a from their minds, they have a right now to be depraved in public.
They have a right now to literally dance on what they think is the grave of your God. And that's what we're seeing. Yeah. When you look at that, my hope is why there has been so much pushback, not just against the Dodgers, but a lot of these Pride events now, is people are starting to realize it wasn't just. Let us love each other.
let's say this, we have a right to have an access to your kids also. We have a right to indoctrinate your kids. We have a right to, yes, groom them into accepting LGBTQ ideology.
So these are the things that I think are making a lot of Normal parents, suburban parents who before would not have considered themselves culture warriors, probably aren't terribly political. I think they're alarmed at this. Are the boycotts working? Yes, absolutely. I mean, look, that's what surprised me.
I was a little bit cynical when the first Bud Light thing happened. I went, okay, so that'll be for a few days. No, I mean, it has decimated the sales of Bud Light to the point that they can't give it away right now. And you look at Target, they have lost $13 billion. in the last couple of weeks.
So that is a significant impact.
Now, how sustained it will be, time will tell. My sort of rallying cry has been: let's not add, because I have seen people getting very excited, going, let's add all the companies, anybody who has a pride display out. And as much as I want to see that, personally, I would think strategically a better idea is to say, no, you make an example of the biggest bully on the block, which is Target. And the other smaller companies will then be frightened. Mm-hmm.
also go against their consumer base.
So, you know, that's my thinking. I've heard some other people say, well, no, let's just get them all. But what we do know right now is it is unquestionably having an impact in a way I didn't even think was possible anymore. It's pretty shocking. And I will say I'm somewhat dubious of the Chick-fil-A stuff.
I mean, again, I wrote a column about it and explained, hey, yeah, this is happening, but this happened three or four years ago. I mean, there's absolutely nothing new or nothing updated about what Chick-fil-A was doing. And I'm wondering if that was almost introduced into the news cycle to take the attention away from some of these other bigger, legitimate real-time issues like the Dodgers Target, Bud Light, Kohl's, and now PetSmart Megan, who apparently is, you know, they're offering, they're selling, what, doggy bikinis for your gay pooches? I mean, and that one too. That's why I'm like, you know, okay, I mean.
I don't like it, but it's not my child, so I get a lot less worked up about the dog than I do about my daughters. Yeah, when I look at Chick-fil-A, I'm probably with you. I don't love it just because it does seem like an unnecessary capitulation to the left. It's a privately held company. They don't need to do this.
So I do kind of wonder why they are, but it's not something that's a major focus for me. And I pointed out to some people: look, You cannot ask moms to give up too much at the same time. Market was a massive ask for us. And we're doing it. But, you know, Chick-fil-A, if if you know, other suburban moms, anything like me, That's kind of your go-to when you're in a pinch.
maybe once, sometimes twice a week on a busy week.
So, um Look, I'm probably not going to give up pick-fil A. You got to pick your battles. That's what you got to do. But you got to try Bojangles. Trust me, it's going to be life-changing.
I love Bojangles. Those bow biscuits are the best. They are. Megan Basham, who is a Claremont fellow, along with being an incredible reporter for the Daily Wire. Megan, we always appreciate you coming on the program.
And, folks, I would encourage you to follow her work. Follow her on Twitter at Meg Basham, B-A-S-H-A-M. Always a wealth of breaking news intel as well. All right, Megan, appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
Absolutely, you too. All right.
There you go. But it's crazy. And I am curious about the boycotts. Are you boycotting? Are you one of the boycotters?
And if so, I'd love to know. What was it for you? What was the line in the sand? You said, that's it. This is when I decide I'm going to stop going to Target or I'm going to cancel my Dodgers tickets.
And we had Pastor Jack Hibs on the show yesterday. He said that people who have been longtime season ticket holders. have turned in their tickets. They say, that's it, we're done here. Oh dear, got some hate mail.
I got to share this with you.
So in the last hour, we played some audio. I was just curious about why misses DeSantis calls her husband governor as opposed to this is my husband. And someone says, Todd, you really need to lay off DeSantis's wife. you really come off as very small and petty. She's a Christian mother of three and cancer survivor.
Let's keep it between the candidates and leave their families out of it. I was just very disappointed in your comments toward A Sister in Christ.
Well, I just again, I'm not going to disagree with you here, but I will say this, I did not call her out for being a mother or a Christian or a cancer survivor. But when you And this is something that we will all have to come to terms with. Because Mrs. DeSantis is running the campaign. Behind the scenes.
So is she off is she off Is she off the table now? Are you not allowed to say anything about Mrs. DeSantis? If she is running the campaign, if she is inserting herself into the campaign, Are you therefore not allowed to question her or say anything about her? Because she is a cancer survivor.
Is that the card that the The other side is going to play. Just asking. I am just asking here.
So we're saying she is, you're not allowed to say anything about Mrs. DeSantis. Period. That's it.
And if you do, you're an evil, evil man. Is that what we're saying here? I just want to make sure I'm understanding the lay of the land. Because let's get real for just a moment, shall we, ladies and gentlemen? One of the main reasons people love Ron DeSantis is Is because they want the Camelot experience.
They see Mrs. DeSantis and they see a Jackie O in the making. And they want a rep there, is a very large segment of the Republican Party, and they want. A Camelot presidency. That and they hate Donald Trump.
And they want him destroyed.
So if that's the case, I mean that's fine. Yeah, I would have a problem if people came out and just attacked her for her health. Nobody wants to do that, nobody's advocating for that. Nobody is saying that she's a bad Christian mother. And again, I have no idea what her religious beliefs are.
I sincerely do not know. I have not asked. For me, that is not important because she is not running for president of the United States, but she is influencing. The man who wants to be president of the United States.
So let me just throw this out there. Are we now saying that the spouses are completely off limits? You're not allowed to say anything, you're not allowed to look at them, you're not allowed to photograph them unless. Unless You're opposed to them. Is that what we're saying here?
I just want to understand the lay of the land. Yeah. So there you go. Eight four four seven four seven eighty eight sixty eight. That is our toll-free telephone number.
That's eight four four seven four seven eighty eight sixty eight. This is the Todd Stern Show. Jesse Kelly here. I'm not a financial expert, but I do look for solid investment opportunities for investment growth and protection against loss. I do know that putting all your eggs in one basket is not a good financial plan.
Securing your IRA or 401k with real gold and silver with Oxford gold is as easy as 123. Or you can buy precious metals and keep them in your safe. One app, one call, and you pick your precious metals. Call 833-901COIN. That's eight three three nine zero one C O I N All right, my apologies.
I did not read. The 2024 presidential campaign manual, and clearly it does state. If your spouse has suffered some sort of an illness, you are never, ever, ever allowed to question. Criticize or even remotely mention anything about that spouse. It is completely illegal, against the law, immoral, sinful.
Shame on you. Shame or you should not even have been born, Todd Starnes. My apologies. I should have read chapter 3. Subsection 3-2.
Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. It happens. All right, let's go to the phone line. Joe, before we do that, Bud Light.
Man, are they? They just keep stepping in it.
So. Nobody's buying their product. Nobody. It's bad.
So now, in response, Anheuser-Busch is doubling down, and they announced yesterday. Or Tuesday, rather, they're going to be extending a partnership with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
So they're going to be giving more money. To the Chamber of Commerce, the Gay Chamber of Commerce. The brewing company also donating $200,000 to the Chamber for a second year in a row.
So they're very doubling down.
So there you go. Good for you, Anheuser-Busch.
So, who knew that you were the beverage of choice for the transgender community?
So good luck to you. Let's go to the phones. David, Memphis, Tennessee, KWAM, our great affiliate there. Hi, David. What's going on?
I'm doing doing great. Hope you're doing great today too, Todd. But on this on the boycotts, it's good to see. It's encouraging to see people rising up. But I kind of wish we would once in a while boycott some of these Same old same old f folks would keep putting back in office.
I mean This debt limit deal is really bothering me because I don't understand. Um Why we don't occasionally boycott some of the representatives, governors, legislators. Senators. We just keep putting the same people back in that let us down over and over and over again. And That eventually leads to legislation and a way of life that gets us to where we are on these other boycotts.
But on this situation in particular, I love all the outrage for all these things going on with Bud Light and everything else, but Can we direct a little bit towards some of these folks that are supposed to be your friends? Because I've, you know, for years living in Memphis, you hear people say, I don't know why these people in inner city keep voting for fill-in-the-blank Ford or Cohen or whoever. 'Cause they nothing ever changes for those folks. I'm like Hey, you know what? Y'all keep voting for the same people.
I could mention names of our representative. My representative, DK, would be the initials. Oh, David Kustoff. Yeah, we can name names here. Yeah.
Right. So I voted for this. I voted for this increase. Yeah. And I'm let down again.
I mean, I voted for Bill Lee and I get toll roads and a handout to the Titans for New Stadium and I get upcoming red flag law legislation. If I'm gonna do if I need all that, I can go on and just vote Democrat. I don't understand what difference is. And of course. I keep challenging people to tell me what is it these politicians really believe in?
Because they run on one thing. and they come out with something totally different. When they get in office. David, I think it's entirely fair, and we're coming up on a break here, David, but I think it's entirely fair for you to go to the next custoff town hall meeting. And this goes for everybody.
If you're an elected leader who is a Republican in Congress, voted to raise the debt ceiling and sided with the Democrats instead of their fellow Republicans, then I would encourage you to go to those town hall meetings and ask the question, what is the difference between you and the Democrats? Yeah. Why are you so opposed to being a fiscal conservative? And why are you opposed to taking a stand on an issue? I think that's a fair question.
We'll be right back, America. Mm. All right, things are not going well for President Biden. He is in Colorado at the Air Force Academy delivering remarks at graduation. And we have some video up on our website, two pieces of video.
That show the president being physically. Pointed in the direction of where he was supposed to walk. And then once he got on the stage, he got lost again. Again, we don't know whoever was responsible for sticking the drugs in the porridge forgot.
So then the President gets up and he's delivering the speech, which is happening now. And he made reference to the Air Force pilots who were doing the flyover, right? Uh let's take a listen and see how that went. By the way, I met with the Who are those guys that fly over shortly? You heard of 'em, haven't you?
Three of them were women, So don't screw around, guys. What does that even mean? I don't know. I don't know. It's unfortunate.
Well, let's go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Great to have with us from the House Freedom Caucus our friend Congressman Ben Klein. He represents Virginia's sixth congressional district. And, Congressman, thank you for being a no vote on that debt ceiling legislation.
Well, Todd, we passed a great bill in the House and what was Negotiated with the administration was a shadow of its former self.
So and then worse, we extended the the debt ceiling out past the next election. And uh I don't know why we would do that, but then that amounted to four trillion dollars. An additional debt capacity. Capacity, and we need to get a hold of spending. We don't need to keep increasing the limits on the credit card with no accountability for the Uh for those who are charging.
all of the debt. I think it's time for the Republican Party just to admit to the American people, and especially their voters, we have no interest in being fiscal. Conservatives anymore. We just don't. I mean, because we haven't been in a very, very, very long time.
Well, there are some of us who who put our money where our mouth is and actually vote to cut spending and stick with it, but uh Um there are there are many who uh who are addicted to Washington spending. and they're in both parties. And it's Very, very challenging. You know, it's hard enough. to get uh Democrats to to stop spending.
They they love the pork barrel politics, that's the how they operate. But Republicans So many who go home and and talk about cutting spending and talk about actually reining in deficits and debt. Um we really do need to work harder to make sure that Everybody votes the way that they campaign. My concern is, well, there are many, to be honest, but there are a couple involving the Speaker of the House. And it's not so much that he went back on his word.
I think he got played. I think he got rolled. That's what Congressman Ken Buck said. That's what Democrats are saying. Did he get rolled?
Did he get played here?
Well, I think that uh the speaker himself was partially involved in the negotiations, but Uh One of the things that uh We needed to do was to stand behind the the house legislation. And instead of agreeing to Just cut. $2 billion out of the eighty billion dollars for IRS money. we needed to hold firm and say You know, we're we're not going to allow any of this money to be spent on IRS agents to come after small businesses and working families. And uh you know instead of Uh the Language in there that Had the Reigns Act, which said that every regulation over $100 million had to come before Congress.
Uh now we get a Provision that is waivable by the Biden administration. Every time a regulation comes up, Uh that They don't like or that they want to impose and they don't like the price tag, they can just waive this requirement.
So these. agreements really watered down the bill that we we're so proud of and stood with McCarthy on. And it's just a disappointing product at the end of the day. Is there money available to fund the eighty seven thousand new IRS agents? Yeah, yeah, the uh the Eighty billion.
But was passed as part of the Inflation Reduction Act. Um What we Did you? Was repealed all of it. And unfortunately, the agreement just said that this year they can't hire any. new agents.
And that is a start, but they can't use any of the money It was about two billion dollars that for hiring new agents.
Now they can go ahead and use The rest of the money, the eighty five billion instead of eighty seven billion, it's eighty five billion to to front load or Uh And Just It's a matter of shifting money around. They can still get their IRS agents if they want.
Now I commend the speaker for saying we're going to continue to fight every year to prevent them from hiring these new agents, Um But it it just makes it difficult every year to have to fight. It'd be better if we just Said no and stood by the House pass provision. The man broke his word. I mean, that was the first promise. And I know that the and We warned our listeners of this when that commitment to America first came out.
And that was the first, I mean, that was the very first thing that he said. We're going to cut these, we're going to defund these 87,000 new IRS agents. But my concern was the wording. He didn't make a promise. He made a commitment.
So you can commit till the cows come home and still get away with it. And I'm afraid that's what's happened here. You just have a lot of very disappointed voters, I think. And again, we appreciate what you and the House Freedom Caucus folks did. But man, people are really discouraged out there.
Well, it was frustrating for us because we had such unity in the conference. We had a great House bill that had ninety nine percent support from the Republicans. The senators and the entire Republican Caucus in the Senate from Mike Lee to Mitch McConnell were behind the House bill. We had it was breaking the messaging of the White House. They couldn't get their footing.
And when our negotiators got in the room, And with their negotiators, it all just kind of vanished. And I'm still struggling as to why that happened, but hopefully, it'll become clearer in. The coming days, why we lost so much ground and why the Democrats. came away.
so much happier about this final product than we did. The fact is that more Democrats voted for this than Republicans. And, Congressman, I'm curious: within the caucus, is there a stomach to So to remove McCarthy as Speaker. I think at this point we are All agreed that uh We are going to focus on the appropriations process to make the change that is so necessary. And Whether you were behind the bill that passed yesterday or against the bill that passed yesterday.
Uh you're in agreement that Now the process has moved to the next step, which is appropriations. And as one of four Freedom Caucus members on appropriations, We are putting our money where our mouth is. Over one thousand amendments have been offered by the four of us. Uh to Actually Yeah. rid of the woke and weaponized government that is in every appropriations bill and every agency.
And that's where our focus is going to be over the next several months, putting out appropriations bills that we can be proud of as conservatives and that get the same kind of support That This original bill did, this Limit, Save, Grow Act did when it first passed the House a month ago, and then we're not going to. agree to water it down the way that this past bill was watered down. And we'll make sure we have agreements. Hopefully, we'll be in the negotiations, the Freedom Caucus. Over these appropriation spills as they move forward.
All right.
But again, back to the question: he's going to keep his job for now? I don't think there's an appetite because as much as We were hoping that the Speaker would stand behind the House bill. The Democrats are. Crowing about of their victories from last year, the Nancy Pelosi trillion dollar spending bills that were entrenched as part of this process. We've got to make it our top priority to get rid of this woken weaponized government that is just wreaking havoc on our economy.
Working families, and that is our top priority right now. All right.
Well, Congressman, we're going to leave it there. Again, we appreciate the no vote, and thanks for coming on the program today. Hey, thanks, Todd. All right.
There you go, Congressman Ben Klein. Folks, you just heard it from yet another House Freedom Caucus member, and we sort of knew this was going to happen. Nothing's there will be no retribution. Justice will not be served. Basically, the Republican Party told all of the Conservatives to bend over and take one up the backside.
That's what just happened here.
So I don't know what to tell you other than we have to keep electing more conservatives, House Freedom Caucus Conservatives. to the Congress. And until we hit that point, Where we control the majority, this kind of stuff is going to continue to happen. But right now, I'm telling you, Kevin McCarthy. Is one of two things.
He's a moron. or he's nefarious. I mean, he could be a nefarious moron, but I don't think so. But if you're telling me the Speaker of the House got played, then that man has no business leading Republicans in the House of Representatives. Because if he's going to get played on something like this, he's going to get played till the cows come home.
Very disappointing. But on the other side, it could be that he's just flat out nefarious and he's a liar. And he went in behind closed doors and worked out a deal with Democrats that not only gave them the spending they want at the spending levels they want, but then he also secured enough Democrat votes so that if the House Freedom Caucus came along and tried to remove him, then the Democrats would step in and they would save McCarthy's hide.
So Again, he's either a moron or he's nefarious. And it's the choices are not all that good. Anyway, all that to say, the Republicans are going to keep spending out the wazoo. 844-747-8868. That is our toll-free telephone number.

And people love it. A good friend of mine actually created the show. And his dad, by the way, is I'm a good friend with his dad, Jerry Jenkins. You might remember the Left Behind books and movie. Yeah, that's his dad.
So, anyway, there was a lot of controversy after a photograph appeared on social media.
Somebody found a gay pride flag on the set of the chosen. And it turns out that one of the staff members of the show happens to be a gay activist married to a dude. And anyway, people are really upset about this.
So. So instead of just ignore maybe they should have just ignored it. I mean If you're the director You can't be responsible for just everything a person brings onto the set, right? I mean, but but once you're made aware of it, At that point, you do have a responsibility to take care of it. I don't care where you stand on the whole pride thing.
This is a set on a TV show about Jesus Christ.
So we all know that the presence of that flag was meant to spark controversy. That it's that is not debatable. That's what it was there for. And it did.
So, the producers came out and they addressed this issue, and their response made it even worse. Yeah. They said they're going to work with anyone who wants to portray the authentic Jesus.
Okay, that's great, but the authentic Jesus did not come into town on the back of a donkey with the crowd waving gay pride flags. The authentic Jesus actually spoke truth to the culture. The authentic Jesus actually called for sinners to go and sin no more.
So instead of like apologizing here for offending the base audience, and I'm just going to go out on a limb here, and if I'm wrong, just somebody call and let me know, and we'll correct the record. But I would be willing to say that the people who go down to the To the Hard Rock Cafe for Drag Queen brunch, probably not the same audience that watches The Chosen. Maybe out of bounds here, but I think I'm on to something.
So, anyway, now the cast and crew are getting involved, and they're doubling down. The actor who plays Thaddeus. Said, quote, biblical love is an acceptance of homosexuality, end quote.
So he's saying, we don't care what the Bible says. We believe that biblical love is the acceptance of homosexuality.
Now, the Federalists, a lot of people weighing in all this, I thought the Federalists had a pretty good Pretty good spin. They said the chosen can't serve both God and the LGBT agenda. Is that true? Is there any wiggle room there? Because, you see, I don't think.
I don't think this is a matter of Of tolerating anything. I don't think this is a matter of tolerance. I think this is a matter of. We're declaring war, and we're going to turn the New Testament story of the life of Christ. on its head.
And we're going to take people in a very different direction. It's almost like this is woke Jesus. A lot of people are really disappointed because, and I will tie this into the LA Dodgers. A lot of people just want to go to a baseball game to go to a baseball game. A lot of people want to sit down and Watch the chosen and and be entertained and encouraged and challenged in their faith.
They don't want to have an LGBT agenda shoved down their throat. I would say they don't want any sort of an agenda shoved down their throat. But this is the society we live in now. Yeah. And I don't know what's going to happen with the chosen.
I don't know if people are going to change the channel. I. I I watched the first season and it was good. But I'm just curious here if this is changing this in your face, you will accept us and you will defend us and you will promote us and you will turn your children over to us. This in your face Agenda, which is really driven by the transgenders and all the other, whatchamacallits, the alphabet activists.
But have you reached a breaking point, America? Have you said, you know? Enough is enough. I'm just curious. All right, we got to take a break.
We're going to go to your calls as well: 844-747-8868. This is the Todd Starred Show. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's conservative blowtorch. That's right. I love this American wrath.
All right.
Hello, everybody. Welcome to hour three of the big show. Happy to have you with us today. If you are on hold, hang tight. We're going to get to your calls.
A lot of people wanting to weigh in on the chosen. Crazy story. Even crazier story is about this incredible new book. About Tucker Carlson. That'll be coming out in wow, it's July 18th.
But you can pre-order it now wherever you get your books, or you can go to TuckerTheBook.com. That's TuckerTheBook.com. The author of this incredible book also happens to be a contributing editor of The Spectator, and he's on the Patriot mobile newsmaker line today, Chadwick Moore. Chadwick, good to have you with us. Hey, Todd, thanks so much for having me on.
So so look, I've got I did not know this about you, but I was uh reading online, you're originally from Tennessee, is that right? That's right, Columbia, Tennessee, as a matter of fact. All right, that's what, south of the the Nashville area, down I-65. Correct, yes.
Well, I'll be.
Well, it's always good. I'm born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, so over in the west part of the state.
So I knew there was something good about you. The same, likewise. All right.
Well, let's jump into this. And I want to talk about the book in just a moment. But there have been some rumblings that you are no longer being allowed on Fox News channel because you wrote this book about Tucker. Is that true? Is that accurate, the reporting?
That's right. That's what I have to go on. I mean, I hours after I announced the book, which is a couple of weeks ago, I was pulled off upcoming appearances on Fox News. One of those was Greg Gutfeld's show, where I've been a guest basically once a month since the show premiered. And you know, Fox News employees aren't allowed and and and on air talent aren't allowed to use uh aren't allowed to say the name Tucker on air is what people have told me.
Not that I planned to really go on. I knew they wouldn't broke my book based on the news, but I thought I'd still go on and be respectful and have a good time, like always. But apparently, just me authoring this book, which Fox News head honchos were aware of. uh was enough to say that we can't have this guy on the air for a little while. This is fascinating.
I I went back and did a little bit of research and digging. And I mean, just up until about three weeks ago, you had been on programs. I think Fox Radio had something, had an interview you had done, and then all of a sudden, poof, you're gone. Yes. And they were asking me to come on Fox News Tonight, which was the show that replaced Tucker's show several times that week before I announced the book.
I declined each time, honestly, because it felt a little wrong. I didn't want to go on that show after they just pulled him off the air, which is a shame because I really like everyone who works at Fox. I really like everyone I dealt with. And then, as soon as I announced the book, it was just radio silence and emails saying that with excuses of why I had to be taken off. Never directly telling me this is a reason, but we all know it's the reason.
And and you know how this business works.
Now normally you can get the real story.
Somebody's going to tell you X, Y or Z. Have you been able to get any intel from people about what's really going on and what was behind all of this?
Well, you know, what I know is that It had something to do with the case with Dominion.
So I've had people tell me that it was a condition in the settlement. Dominion denied this. Of course, in Fox has denied this. But I've had people say that they're assured that's the reason why. And then others have said that have given the impression that maybe Fox just wanted to put their foot down and get everyone in line and show who's bossed, and they did that by just removing Tucker.
What people have consistently told me in Fox, both former employees and current employees, is that management is just a total mess and completely out of touch. With their audience, and they really didn't understand what they had with Tucker. They didn't understand, even though his ratings were so high, they didn't get that he was propping up. the entire prime-time lineup. And that his brand was as powerful, if not more powerful, than the Fox News brand itself.
I think that's a pretty good peg on this. I worked there for 14 years, and I can tell you, as one of Roger's guys back in the day, I didn't see many people that understood, truly understood his vision for Fox and the formula that made it work. And they're trying, and I think they're running scared now. I mean, they're trying to just throw stuff up against the wall and see if it works. And I mean, the rating's down by a third since the what, a month out now, since Tucker was fired.
It is really jaw-dropping to see the unraveling of Fox News. Yeah, it really is. And percentage wise, their loss is even greater than Bud Light. If you look at the prime-time numbers and especially the numbers of the key 18 to 54-year-old demographic, I mean, it's 62% down for that key demographic. Interestingly, you know, Tucker's show.
Brought in a bunch of people who aren't typical cable news watchers, especially young people, and especially young men. And sur surprisingly, he had the highest rated show among 18 to 54-year-old Democrats in all of cable news. And I don't think that a lot of people who made this decision really understood what they had on their hands here and that You know, Hucker, in a way, was sort of artificially extending the life of cable news, whose model has kind of lasted a lot longer than a lot of people would have felt. he was appointment television, and there's not really any of that in cable news anymore. People really structure their evenings around that that program, myself included, you know, and a lot of people are feeling they have a hole in their nights now.
They don't know what to do th do it themselves but now that he's now that he's gone. I think they thought, and I know this is true on the radio side, that the brand is so strong that people will do whatever you tell them to do because of the brand. And I think maybe because things went so well after O'Reilly left and people thought, oh, that's it, the network's going to implode, but it didn't implode. And I wonder if a lot of this, they just gambled and it turned out to hit them right back in the face. Yeah, that's exactly right.
And people who are at Fox and even one of Tucker's producers told me exactly what you just said. They gambled that we were fine after Bill O'Reilly, fine after Megan Kelly. This producer said to me, you know, they sort of thought it was no different than taking Harris Faulkner off outnumbered. And that they think of themselves as being the Fox News of 20 years ago, and that the brand. Is more important than any of the individuals or the personalities.
And yet we're moving into a media landscape where most people are getting their news from. From talk radio for shows like yours. from the internet, from podcasts. And it's those the reasons why those platforms are so successful is a connection with the personality. But that's really what Tucker had on his show.
You know, he was so successful because people really connected with him and didn't think he was lying to them. Television is a medium that's built on artifice. And that extends into the personalities oftentimes But a lot of people felt that they were getting the real deal with Tucker Carlson, and you don't see that very often in television. No, he he's unique. He's different.
And you you're the people they're putting in there, they're good. Don't get me wrong, Chadwick, but they're not different. And it's hard for people to connect with that.
So the d you know, Tucker, the disheveled hair, you know, sometimes, you know, the whole look. I think people really connected with that kind of stuff. And, you know, that really makes a difference, you know, when you're on TV. Yeah, and there were those weird videos that were leaked of him kind of in between segments talking to his staff. It was meant to damage him, but it actually just made him more likable.
Of course it did. I'll have to tell you a story one day about the launch of Fox Nation, which I was right in the throes of. But it was very clear to me at that point. Management had no idea who our audience was. I thought, oh my gosh, this is not going to go well.
Let's talk about this book. I'm excited. I love reading these kinds of books. How much access did Tucker give you to himself, the the one-on-one time? That was the most amazing part of it because this I'm an independent biographer.
So this is not an authorized biography. Tucker hasn't seen a word nor has he asked to. But anything I wanted, he was there. If I said, for example, the first time I went down to Florida, he I've been up to both Florida and Maine Spend time with him where he lives for both parts of the year. You know, I said, Oh, you know, do you recommend a hotel I can stay at nearby?
No, you're staying with us in the house. And I thought, wow, really?
So, you know, he was just an open book. Anything I wanted, anytime I wanted to hang out, he was there, which was really incredible. I mean, I wasn't expecting that at all. And I feel like I really got to know him and his world. Uh pretty well.
When you do all this research, and I have to imagine there's just a lot of work involved in getting a book like this right, what were some of the things that maybe surprised you that you didn't know about Tucker?
Well, I really learned I love learning about his childhood a lot. Uh, his his father, Dick Carlson, is a journalist. Uh he's he was Great getting to know him. He's still alive and with us, 82 years old. And Uh you know Mm-hmm.
Came from, Tucker came from a long line on both sides of the family of abandonment and dysfunction. and from both his father and his mother, his his biological mother, who abandoned his family when Tucker was six years old, and he never saw her again. She just left and wanted to go be a hippie. And uh Never she died in 2011, he never saw her again. I think that really influenced who Tucker is a is as a man, particularly as a father and as and as a husband.
One of the best things that was getting to see how he's not one of these people that can only talk about politics. In fact, When you're just hanging out with him, that's not what you're talking about. He's just talking about everything else. He has a very. Rich and interesting personal life and intellectual life and spiritual life.
And that was great to see. It made he was a writer's dream because the man can just talk for hours. And it's always entertaining. Oh, no doubt. And he's a fisherman too.
Is that fly fishing that he does? Oh, yeah, big fisherman. Loves it more than anything. Fly fishing, trout fishing. Also, loves pheasant hunting.
He loves nature. He's kind of a. What you think of as a crazy environmentalist and the fact that he loves nature and trees, he doesn't wear deodorant or socks, he loves the grateful dead. But yet He's the first one to call out, you know, the the so-called green movement or the fact that it does nothing to improve the actual environment, which is something that's really important to him. He was kind of like, you know, a McConaughey's like that, Matthew McConaughey, the actor.
And there was like a there was a big deal years ago that he didn't like to wear deodorant. And he, you know, he liked to smell like a man. It was a thing. I don't know. This is amazing.
It annoys Tucker's wife Susie more than anything.
Well, there you go. We'll leave that there. This is going to be exciting. Tucker the book. It's going to be out in July.
And Chadwick, I know you're going to be hitting the circuit to doing the interviews, but we'd love to get you back. And congratulations on this great new project. Oh, thank you. I'd absolutely love to come back any time. Thank you very much.
And don't worry about Fox. You're going to do fine. I'm sure Newsmax is going to have you on all their shows, and you're going to hit that New York Times bestseller list, lickety split. Oh, thanks, man. I appreciate that.
All right, Chadwick Moore, everybody, contributing editor over at The Spectator, and this brand new biography on Tucker Carlson is called Tucker. You can pre-order it wherever you get your books, and this is one that you're going to want to have in your library. I can tell you, there will be one in mine. All right, we've got to take a quick break here. And again, if you want to go to the website, tuckerthebook.com, that is the website.
All right, 844-747-8868. Back after this. All right, so I'm on this journey to become half the man I used to be. No, just kidding, I'm trying to, but I am trying to lose weight. And I've been using this great product called Calatrin.
There's something else, though, and I'm really bad about not eating as many vegetables, and I'm not a big fruit guy, right? I'll do a banana, but the problem with the bananas, Dieter, I don't know if you've noticed this, but you're a healthy person. You eat it the you eat all the the green you know, you drink the green juice and you eat the um the vegetables. Um I every time I buy a banana, it's always it's not ripe, so it tastes like disgusting. I'm sorry, Todd.
It is what it is. There are ways to avoid that. You kind of look at the bunch and you, yeah. Squeeze them. Yeah.
You pick them up. You look at the color. I know, it just feels awkward. You're in the produce section by yourself and you're squeezing these, you know. Come quats and whatnot.
It's just weird. And you don't, I just feel weird.
Okay. And I normally go to, but when I do go to buy the fruit, I go to the Whole Foods. And it's interesting, they always look at me bad because I pull into the parking lot and they have like 13 parking spots where you can charge your car, and they're in the very front of the car. I mean, even the handicapped people don't get access like that.
So I just pull on up. But your Cadillac, it's not an E V, is it? No, but it's got electrical parts in it, so I figure I'm safe. Sir, that's for electric vehicles. Yeah, I know.
And I just go in and do my shopping.
So anyway, I want you to think about this for a minute.
So if you really want to eat healthy, you got to have the broccoli, You gotta have the spinach. You gotta have the kale. You gotta have the garlic. You got to have the cabbage. I mean, it's like tons of celery, sweet potatoes.
And then you got to throw in. I mean, just to stay healthy, if you got to eat, you know, you want to hit all of your veggies and the fruit categories.
So you got the bananas and the grapes and the cranberries. Oh, I love cranapple, but apparently that's not healthy for you. The juice. Then you got the blueberries, the mangoes, and the pineapple.
So it just goes on and on and on.
So, anyway, we're talking about 31 vegetables and fruit, right? You cannot buy all of that. You cannot afford to do that. Even though we have massive sponsors, and we, we, it was just a lot of money, right?
So, anyway, um, A couple of months back, someone said, Okay, we got a solution. 31 fruit. 31 fruits and veggies. And all you have to do is take a pill. And I thought, wait, what?
So, anyway, it's called Balance of Nature. And you probably hear the ads running. And by the way, everything you hear, I take on this radio program.
So I've been taking balance of nature. You get the veggies and the fruit, and it's amazing. By the way, not a big fan of kale, not a big fan of the soybeans or the cabbage. I'm not a cabbage guy either, but guess what? You don't taste it.
It doesn't I mean, they it tastes all delicious because it's all mixed together, kind of like a V8 juice. And it works every single day. I am telling you, it's really like having all the cornucopia of nutrition you could want in the palm of your hand. And I love it. And there's no other way.
Folks, it makes you feel better, get more energy. I'm sleeping better. The whole nine yards. And you really do need, if you're cutting back, On the food, you do need to make sure that you're eating healthy. And so that's what I'm trying to do.
And I should have been doing this all along. Shame on me. But you know what? You can always start. It doesn't matter where you are in life.
You can always start taking care of yourself and eating better. By the way, I cut out the Diet Coax. And so I really was in the mood for one a couple of days. Couple of sips and you're like, Yeah. Yeah.
I do drink the unsweet tea, though. Todd's a changed man. Hallelujah! I can vouch for you, by the way, all your listeners. Like, does Todd actually take this?
I have seen him taking the pills. He's down there swallowing pills every morning. I have to make sure he's popping pills. I'm going to fail the company drug test, but I'm just kidding. And that's the other great thing.
They're all drug-free, right? No stimulants. This is all natural. And so, anyway, look, I'm learning about this as I go. You guys are smart.
You know how to do all of this stuff.
So, anyway, all that to say, I want you to check out balanceofnature.com and use my discount code TOD, T-O-T-D. They're going to give you 35% off your first order. And you're going to love it. It is going to really make you feel better. And it takes a little bit of time.
You know, once it gets into your system, you feel great.
So, and I want you to feel great. And the reason why is because I want you to have the energy to call up the show and have a conversation. You can also give them a call, by the way. That number is 800-246-8. 8751.
That's 800-246-8751. Go to balanceofnature.com if you want to go online. By the way, shipping, free. We pick up the tab for that. Got to use that discount code Todd, and you're going to get 35% off your first order.
So there you go. I have a question for you. Talking about losing weight. You're going to go get on an airplane. What would you do?
If the airline asked you to step on the scales, before you could board the flight. What ha what would you do? If the airline said, okay, we need to know how much you weigh before you're allowed to put your big overweight toe onto the airplane. What would you do? 844-747-8868.
That is our phone number. That's 844-747-8868. It is happening, by the way. This is unreal. We'll talk about it coming up next.
All right, welcome back, everybody.
Sorry about that. I was. slightly distracted. Good to have you with us. An interesting headline here from our good friend Liz Peake.
John Kerry, climate crazies are coming for your burgers and your Fourth of July. Unbelievable. They better not try to pull that down in Dixie. I'll tell you that much. Let's go to the Patriot Mobile newsmaker line.
Liz Peake hanging out with us. Liz, hope you're doing well. I am. Thank you very much. Yep?
All right.
What's going on here, Liz? They're coming after our burghers and our dogs? Honestly, you just have to kind of step back and realize that the left hates pretty much everything you love. And I think. Of course, I started off thinking about Memorial Day and how great Memorial Day is, all the kids out in the backyard and Cooking.
Hot dogs over a charcoal grill, riding in a bike parade with American flags and all that. And I realized: you know what? They hate this. They hate this and they're going to try and shut it down. More particularly, We have, let's say, on the food front, John Kerry very aggressively trying to change American agriculture, change what we eat, how we produce our food, et cetera, You also have Democrats now trying to outlaw gas Drills and gas stoves in.
Uh inside. And also, there are efforts underway to eliminate charcoal grilling because it's bad for the environment. I mean, honestly, your head just sort of explodes with all this stuff, right? But But at the end of the day, it's hard. Everything we do, they want to control the cars we drive, the houses we live in, what we eat, how we produce our food.
it goes on and on. And honestly, I think it's time that people really took this threat more seriously, more important. is the fact that they just hate the fact that we celebrate the fourth of July. uh and Flag Day and other events where we Celebrate the founding of our great country. They don't like the founding of our country.
They think it's a terrible country and they want to. you know, rewrite our history.
So that we don't Don't feel pride in our heritage. I mean, it's really an appalling attack. on our country that is underway from all sides. And I You know, you just got to push back. I mean, this article was one tiny way of pushing back.
I love it. I think this is terrific. And it reminded me of something that the Michigan governor did, Whitmer, I believe is her name, back during the pandemic when she banned people from planting gardens and they weren't allowed to go fishing. It was as if this idea that you have to rely on the government for everything, including your food. Yeah.
Well, they're very up in arms. John Kerry, of course, the climate star is very up in arms about the fact that There are emissions created by farming. And there's also nitrogen used in farming and other materials that they think is heinous. But, Todd, you're old enough to remember, as am I, it was a nanosecond ago that the biggest alarmism going out there was about the world famine situation. People were starving everywhere.
So now people are starving apparently because of of climate change. And yet, what is standing in the way of that starvation, it's this unbelievably productive and valuable agriculture sector that we have in America. I mean, You can't you can't have it both ways, right?
So it's a little bit stupid, I have to say, but that's what John Kerry's job is. globetrotting the world. It is private jet and Trying to change everything about how we live. And by the way, if you read the Agriculture Department's Strategy piece on how we're going to accomplish great strides in agricultural emissions. It has to do with exactly what I'm talking about, you know, changing our diet.
They obviously want to get rid of red meat. I mean, as you say, good luck with that because Americans are pretty wetted to their steaks and hamburgers. But they also want to change how we produce Uh all kinds of of um Farm products and People think this is a nutty idea, but then you look at what's going on in the Netherlands. And the government to comply with very strict EU emissions rules is cutting is closing down thousands of farms. It's so bad in the Netherlands, and it's the same thing, cow flatulence or whatever you want to call it.
is is such an issue in Holland now. That you have a brand new political party that actually did extremely well in the last election. People have had enough. The farmers have had enough. And the entire country is looking at this and saying, No, we will not stand for this closing down of our farming industry.
I am fairly certain I can speak for the entire state of Tennessee that if they ban barbecue, we will secede from the Union. That's it.
We're John. I think you're right. We'll get you a passport, Liz. You can come visit. I think Georgia, Alabama, a lot of states are going to be a passenger.
The southern states are gone. We're out of here. We've had enough. We've had enough. This could be the hill we die on, right?
Yes, it could. It very well may be. Liz, I want to talk about the 2024 election. We've got a couple of folks jumping in the race next week. At least that's what we're hearing.
Mike Pence and Chris Christie and Chris Sununu may not be too terribly far behind. Yeah, that's it's interesting. Sununa's an interesting guy. Uh I heard him speak down at a Freedom Works con uh convention. And he is a very smart, very fast-talking fellow, but has a good, you know, he has a very good story to tell about his time as governor of New Hampshire.
I would suggest that as people have said about some other governors in the race, you know, it's not and but this one in particular, Taking locally successful Practices national is a pretty big leap, right? I mean, what he's done in New Hampshire, and what he talks about a lot, is a very hands-on. kind of governing style. He goes to town halls. He meets with people who have problems, et cetera.
As President, you really can't do that. And I think he is somewhat he's very appealing, but I think he is probably not yet for this cycle. Uh Chris Christie. Excuse me, I don't know what he's thinking. I don't know what Anthony Scaramucci is thinking.
Are they really just so intent on embarrassing Trump? That they're willing to put a lot of money into this guy's campaign. I think Chris Christie. is a joke. I have no idea what he's doing in the race.
As far as Mike Pence is concerned, he has a loyal following, but I I don't give him great odds either. It's not that big of a yeah, and it's not that loyal, and he's a a wonderful person. I just I don't see a path forward for Mike Keltz.
Well, I don't either because basically the people who might vote for Mike Pence also probably are pretty attached to Donald Trump. Mike Pence's greatest calling card for a lot of Republicans is that he was a very loyal. Vice President and effective vice president. Excuse me. But The reality is his greatest problem also with that crowd Is his what what Trump describes as his betrayal of the President.
um in certifying the election of Joe Biden.
So I think I think his path is complicated beyond words. I was talking to some pretty well placed evangelical leaders, and I think Pence may even have a problem with that crowd. And it's not because of Trump, it's because they're going with DeSantis. And those are movements Movements being made.
So that could be an interesting thing. I want to talk about DeSantis, though. And you know, I'm a Trump guy. I've thrown in for Trump. I appreciated his policies, and that's what I'm casting my vote on.
But DeSantis actually got in a pretty good couple of shots on Trump. And I want to play some audio. Cut number one, please.
So you talked about changing your tone a little bit with former President Trump. I don't believe you mentioned him here by name tonight, but does this mean you're going to be a bit more aggressive with campaigning against him?
So look, I'm going to respond to Uh attacks. I mean, if you say Cuomo did a better job with COVID than Florida did, first of all, that's not what he used to say. This is like new. Like, six months ago, he would have never said that, right? He used to say how great Florida was.
Hell, his whole family moved to Florida under my governorship. Are you kidding me?
Okay, and I think that's a good question. I thought that was a great line, and you haven't heard Trump come back with a comeback yet on that. Yeah, it's not just a great line, it's true. It is true. You know, the entire family does move does live in Florida like so many other New Yorkers.
They found the low tax, light regulation, Open society of Florida, very, very appealing. Look, I I think that everyone was waiting for Ron DeSantis to start pushing back on Trump.
Some of Trump's criticisms of DeSantis, I think, are just plain stupid. Like, yeah, saying he didn't do a good job during. COVID and that Andrew Cuomo, who we know whose policies resulted in hundreds, if not thousands, allegedly of Incremental deaths, give me a break. I mean, I was in Florida for part of. COVID.
And I'll tell you what, people were. People behaved intelligently. Older people were very careful, but the state functioned. And good for DeSantis. And by the way, the other thing DeSantis did, which was great, was manage a really horrendous hurricane.
I mean, it's not, obviously, the state sustained huge damage, and it's not back to where it was, but he did a good job. And you really haven't heard anybody say otherwise.
So I I mean, I'd like to have Trump spend a little more time on the next four how does he view his second term? What are his policies that He really wants to bring back. I'm very much in favor. Of getting rid of birthright citizenship, good for him for bringing that up. I have written about that many times.
It's completely terrible practice, and we're one of the few countries that still does it. That's the kind of thing I think it would be great if you were talking about and not making up sort of Silly Criticisms of a governor that, as DeSantis has pointed out, very recently, he was very fond of. And we're going to ask him about all of that. The former president is going to be on the show Monday. And so we're going to play this clip and get him to respond.
But also, I think you're right. I want to see what the next four years is going to look like and what kind of policies are we going to advance. Liz, we got to leave it there. Great column, great insight, and we look forward to getting back on very soon. Hey, thanks very much, Todd.
Take care. All right.
The great Liz Peake, everybody, of the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. All right, here's what we're going to do. We're going to take a break when we come back, going straight to the phones, eight four four seven four seven eighty eight sixty eight. This is the Todd Starn Show. All right, by the way, so the airline is Aired New Zealand.
And they're going to start measuring people, weighing people. And apparently, it's all being done electronically through this AI crap. And. They say nobody's going to know how much you weigh. But look, the whole point of this, the problem is.
The people are getting so big that the airlines can only the airplane can only hold so many people. And they have weight limits. And if you go over the weight limit, well, guess what's going to happen? The plane's going to crash. And dear, we were talking about this earlier today, but the reality is That the average person is not going to tell you how much they weigh.
Nobody's going to be honest. And if it is true that if dishonesty could result in an imbalance in the the scaling of the plane and the cargo, which could lead to failures of that plane in this guy, Your dishonesty could result. And terrible, terrible. You're going to kill people. Exactly.
So again, I was on one of these puddle jumpers once, and they literally the pilot will go and say, okay, well, how much do you weigh? How much do you weigh? You go to the back of the plane, you sit here, you have to distribute the weight. And if you don't, you're going to crash and burn. Do people lie?
I think people understood. They whispered. I mean, what so is this like a massive scale that not only do you have to go through the TSA checkpoints, you're then going to have to go through the scaling process. You may as well just get it done through the TSA checkpoint, right? When you have to where they have the footprints.
and they can weigh you, and then it kind of pops up on a big screen and people can laugh. It could cure our country's obesity problems. Or you could have some gambling involved and maybe win a few extra bucks. All right, how much do you think that thing weighs? Gertrude's walking through.
My money is on 450. Yeah, that's not going to. We're not going to do that. You know, I got to go through a TSA checkpoint here momentarily at Memphis International. And it's a it's always a challenge.
I don't know why. I always get pulled aside for the extra pat down. And it's very it's It's really up close and affectionate. I think that's an appropriate word. Mm-hmm.
And then, when they have your way with you, and then you got to go put yourself back together, put your clothes back on, and try to catch your flight, and they don't call. They don't write. You get no flowers. No chocolates. Nope.
You're just left there, stripped of your dignity. You're shamed. And your pants. Yeah. It's terrible.
It's awful. Boy, oh boy. Why am I going out of town? What's wrong with me? Why are you going out of town?
All right, let's go to the phones here. Bill in Statesville, North Carolina. Bill, what's on your mind today? Talk to me, Bill. How are you today, Todd?
Bill, I'm doing good. Ask me that now, but ask me later after I go through that TSA checkpoint. Oh, you'll be all right. I'm finering frog hair split three ways, so you'll be all right. Us southern boys know how to handle it.
Well, we do. We just kind of sit there and say, Oh, baby. Kevin McCartney needs to be let go, but he won't. The only way that's going to happen is if we get that man back up there in that office, and you know who I'm talking about. DJT.
DJT, Bill. But it's um He's a yes man, and we got too many of them up there already. And Donald Trump is not a yes man, never has been, never will be. Um That's just the way I look at it. I think he needs to carry his son up there to be the Vice President, maybe his daughter to be the Speaker of the House.
Make it a family affair, Bill. Is that what you're recommending? I think so. I think so. I mean, his daughter's a smart cookie.
His daughter in law sure is too. Just get them all up there and get this country straightened out. It's a mess, that's for sure. And you're right about McCarthy. And again, this is what it means to have a backbone.
Someone like Donald Trump, you may not like him, but at least you know where he stands. And he's going to deliver because he's done it before. Bill, appreciate that call. Thank you for listening. Let's go to Glinda in Georgia, WDU, and our great station.
Hi, Glinda. What's on your mind today?
Well, Todd, I'm seventy-eight years old, so if I ramble off, just stop me. I tried to write down what I wanted to say so I wouldn't ramble back and forth. I'm a Retired police officer for almost 30 years. Within Athens, Georgia. No dog.
Lord, I bet you saw a lot in Athens. Oh, yes, I did. Wow, go dog. But anyway, I'm a conservative from the word go. I was born and raised a Democrat.
My dad's dead, of course. No doubt to my mind, if he were alive today, I just cannot see him being a Democrat. I'm a strong Trump supporter. I have five children. to one of my friends this day.
And when he told me that, about he was probably about eighteen or nineteen years old, and I may tear up a little bit. And I the first thing I said to him is, Son, I'm going to take you to a psychiatrist and we'll get you some help. And tears came in his eyes and he said, Mom, I'm gay, I'm not crazy. And then we had this long discussion of he said, Do you think I want to be like this? He said, People hate us.
Now, Glenda, we've got about twenty seconds.
So what happened?
Well, he he's married to a man, you know, and I looked in the Bible and there's so many things in there that that talk about being gay, but it also goes to um About committing adultery and such as that. About burning and overeating too. Nobody wants to talk about those verses. But he, I just am not. Glenda, I've got about five seconds.
Let me ask you this: do you love your son? I love him better than anything on the station.
Well, there you go. And what a great way to. Look, I know you give us a call back one of these days, and we're going to finish that conversation. You got to promise me, Glenda. Also, Bo and Keithville, Louisiana, Robert and North Carolina, give us a holler back.
We just flat run out of time, America.
