Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. That's right. I love this American. You know, I know I should be more passionate about the Super Bowl this year. I am just not.
I don't know, what's uh what's the word I'm looking for here? I'm I'm just not jazzed up about the teams, about the Super Bowl itself. And I got to tell you, I'm sort of waiting to fill out my brackets for March Madness. Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Stearns Radio Program.
Great to have you with us today. Super Bowl 60, and it seems as though I know everybody's excited about what the Patriots and the Seahawks. I guess I You know, it is what it is. But it seems like there is. There is more conversation and more debate and more controversy over the halftime show than there is actually the football game.
Oh, by the way, the NFL. says there will be no ice operations. Planned for Super Bowl 60.
Now that's kind of disappointing. I mean, that would have sort of spiced things up, right? Maybe instead of what is it for college game day, you know, they show up on a you know a campus around the country and they have the field goal post and they get some kid. And they're like, all right, if you can kick the, what do they give them? Like $100,000, $200,000 or something?
I don't know. Free wings for life? And so, anyway, the kid kicks up. You know what they could do? Instead of all of that, they could have, like, I don't know, get the illegal to try to outrun the ICE agent.
And if they. If they win, they get to stay in the country.
So instead of like 200 grand, you get a green card. I just came up with that right on the spot there, Dylan. It's a very uh athletic Event. Right? Get some fencing.
You can jump the fence. Wow. Yeah. Very creative. Run for the border.
I so you could be creative like that. I mean, again, you gotta spice it up. You know, it's there's so much stuff that's competing for people's attention these days.
So you gotta have s you have to have something to sort of differentiate yourself. That's all I'm saying. But this bad bunny thing, and Mr. Bunny is the halftime performer, and this guy is what, from Puerto Rico, so he's Puerto Rican. He is not a Trump fan.
He is a radical leftist. And he wears, he's going to wear a dress. And I don't know.
Well, he's going to wear a dress. I don't know. I do know why he's going to wear a dress, but I don't know why he would want to wear a dress. He says he's doing it for. For queer people.
Now, I just have a question. Do all of the queer people, all you queer people out there, Do you actually wear dresses, or is that some sort of a stereotype? That's what I'm wondering here. But we were having this conversation last night on Newsmax with the panel, and we're still trying to come up with a good name for the ladies' panel because it just we don't want to call it ladies' panel.
So, Dylan, we've been batting around some names. Todd's Hot Conservative Babes. is is one that I like. For some reason the ladies didn't like that. That's interesting to me because it kind of takes you out of the picture and focuses on them.
Well, that's the point. I remember years ago, I was on Fox. I can't remember which blonde I was on with. There are so many over there. Anyway, I was on Hannity's show.
Oh, I was the guy in the middle, and I was sandwiched between two blondes. And I was talking to Uncle Jerry. I said, What did you think about? He said, I was watching Hannity last night. I said, Well, what did you think about our segment?
He goes, Wait, you were on?
So it is what it is, right? I mean, look, I get it. I get that.
So, we had the hot, beautiful, conservative babes on. And they were talking about this. We're going to play it a little bit later on, but it was really funny because we can't figure out why the guy is wearing a dress.
So, Bad Bunny is. Can we figure out what his real name is, by the way? Is it like Tomas or Jesus or something? I don't know, Lupe? If we could find out.
But anyway, mister Bunny says he is not queer, but he's going to be using his half time show, the half time show of the sixtieth Super Bowl, to celebrate queer people. And he himself has described himself as a heterosexual. I wonder if he's going to shave his legs. You know, that could be bad. I mean, it's if you got hairy legs.
Nobody wants to see that if you're wearing a pink dress. I'm just saying.
So, anyway, he's all about challenging traditional macho. gender norms through what he calls gender fluid fashion. All right, what's wrong with a nice pantsuit? You know, the ladies wear pants. Why why I just don't understand.
He also supports drag performances and advocacy for queer rights. All of this will be featured prominently in the and the half-time show. And it does make you wonder what's going on here. Because, you know, a lot of kids, a lot of boys, especially, are going to be watching. Are going to be watching the show.
Oh, that was the other thing we talked about in the panel: whether or not. And I don't, well, we were talking about queerness, and so Kay Smythe, who is from London, she's from the UK. And she was like, darling. Darling, gay men do not watch. The Super Bowl.
And I pushed back a little bit on that. And I said, well, what about the tight ends? And she relented. Oh well, all right. You may have a point.
So, anyway, Bad Bunny is out there, and he is talking about. How important it is for him to get out there and do this during the halftime show. In a recent Vanity Fair interview, Mr. Bunny, who is a rapper, by the way, if he's not in your playlist. He opened up about and he's being accused of queer baiting.
doing everything from wearing women's clothes to kissing a male backup dancer during a VMA performance to dressing in drag. During a music video called Yo Piero Taco. No, that's no, Yo Piero Sola. Yeah. Now, wait a second.
Hold on, hold on.
So, this guy, he's kissing a dude, he's wearing a skirt. And he's doing drag. That doesn't sound very hetero to me, but I'm not judging. We don't judge on the Todd Cearns radio show. Whatever floats your feather, Boa.
Mr. Bunny said, I get an endless number of negative comments and sexist and homophobic ones without being homosexual for dressing like that.
So, is he saying that gay people wear dresses? Mr. Bunny is 29 years old. Maybe the queer person suffers more, but it's not like I put on a skirt and go out and say, oh, they look cool. They're going to attack me either way.
He says, you don't know the reasons why a person is wearing a skirt.
Well, they're either straight or not. As for whether his style represents part of his own identity, Mr. Bunny said you do it because you want to, and it makes you feel good.
Meanwhile, you have a lot of NFL players who are really bothered by this, but they're so scared they don't want to go on the record. Where is that story? Ah, yes.
So NFL stars are concerned about all of this. And they're saying that it takes away from the actual game itself. This is from the New York Times. Oh, by the way, the Times misidentified Mr. Bunny.
No, they didn't call him Mr. Turtle. They just said he wasn't an American citizen. They had to correct that. Anyway, according to players, they did a poll of players.
Roger Caddell telling reporters the league was not going to replace the King of Latin tramp. He'll be the first Spanish language artist to perform on the Super Bowl half-time stage ever. Reaction from players in the poll was split, though the majority did not like the selection, cited a lack of familiarity. Who the heck is this guy? That's what they're saying.
That's what the players are saying. They don't like Bad Bunny's music, or many of them said they preferred a different performer. One NFC offensive player said, I don't like it. I prefer anyone who's synonymous with football and football culture. I feel like there's tons of artists out there who are fans of the game.
You know, that's a fair, and that is a fair thing. Are there not any country music star? When was the last time we had a country music star perform? At the half-time show. When is that?
When was that? Another defensive player says, I've heard his music, but I don't speak Spanish.
So I'm not a big fan. But I do think it's cool to have him because America is based on diversity. Who, what, wait, what? Sir Disco played football. America was built on immigration.
Wait, what? Sir, come on.
So I feel like having him just furthers that American dream. I like it. I like the choice. Another NFC special teamer, this is from the New York Times, says, I love the culture. behind it One NFC.
Player who was adamant the NFL bring country music back to the Super Bowl said, I don't know who Bad Bunny is and never listened to his music. But this may be good for ratings.
So, anyway, there you go. For me, I really don't care. I know everybody's excited about this Turning Point USA halftime show. May I just say I am. What's the word I'm looking for here, Dullen?
Uh um Underwhelmed. It's a good word. By their lineup? Nobody knows who they are.
Well, Kid Rock, and we love Kid Rock. The last time Kid Rock had a hit, Obama was president. This is true. Yeah, this is true. And nobody knows who these other people are.
You have to Google them. And even Google's like, I don't know who this is. I mean, that's bad. I'm just thinking, why couldn't they get like, you know? Yeah.
I mean, I'd rather just have President Trump out there dancing to YMCA. Honestly? Right? I wouldn't mind that. Yeah.
So, anyway, ladies and gentlemen, I am curious. What do you think is going on here? The NFL. The NFL is trying to send a statement here, and I'm wondering what statement that is. Roger Goodell is doubling down on all of this, and I don't know, you know, it makes no sense.
You know, they were doing so well. We were getting past the Colin Kaepernick thing. People were starting to love America again. The NFL, things seemed to start they started to go in the right direction. And now, all of a sudden, they're shoving another agenda down the throats of football fans.
901-260-5926. Our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. Did we figure out what his real name is? Benito.
Oh, Benito Bunny? Benito Bunny, yeah. No, that's El Casio is his last name. Oh, is he related to Cortez? See, that was my first thought, too.
Oh, also, by the way, the last country halftime shows in 1994. Really? And he was born in 1994, uh Bad Bunny was, so maybe this is uh Maybe he does a flip-flop on us and turns country. Probably not. I got so our good buddy Wyatt Cox over at the Nevada Talk Network, they carry this program.
And he says that I'm calling this up right now here: that Charlie Pride was the first solo performer to do the Star Spangle Banner in 1974. At the Super Bowl. Oh, are they going to be doing the Black National Anthem? We've got to figure all that out. And also we're going to we're going to hunt down all this info.
All that to say, it's very disappointing that the NFL has decided to go down this path. Are you going to watch the TPUSA halftime show or the NFL's Half Time Show. Ladies and gentlemen, 901-260-5926, our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. We really have a great show for you today, folks.
Our good buddy Mike Ring from Old Glory Bank is going to drop by. Also, Liz Peak is here. Mayor Glenn Jacobs, you might remember him as Kane in the world of WWE Wrestling. And Senator Marsha Blackburn will drop by along with your calls. This is the Todd Starn Show.

Tell them Todd sent you. Uh All right, President Trump now weighing in on. Benito Bunny, bad bunny. Bad bunny. Dead.
President Trump said, I don't know who this guy is. That's what the President said. I don't know why the NFL is doing it. It's crazy. It's absolutely ridiculous.
That's what President Trump is telling Newsmax. By the way, Bad Bunny hates ice. And says everything that he doesn't like is racism. Whoa, so he's a Democrat. Mike Johnson says, I didn't even know who Bad Bunny was.
It sounds like a terrible decision. He's not someone who appeals to a broader audience.
So, there you go. That's all.
So, the question now is: Do you watch TPUSA or? What is it back in the? I don't know if the churches still do this, and maybe somebody can let us know. You know, back when, you know, back in the day, Dylan. The church would host a Super Bowl.
You'd be able to go and watch the Super Bowl. And in the halftime show, here's the thing, though. They'd ply you with good food, all-you-can-eat pizza, and you're there for the game. And then the halftime show comes on, and then they got you.
So, what they do is they don't play the halftime show because, you know, that's sin. And then they would like plop in some sort of like a video. That would be like a church service. You had the video? Yeah.
Because I didn't have the video. I had the short Bible study. Oh, really? Yes. Yeah.
So you're like football and football. Run, go, team, kill them, crush them, break their necks. And then it's time for Bible study. All out screaming to complete. Quietness.
Listen now. Come by ya, my lord. I know that makes me that makes me sound terrible. What is wrong with me? That's just awful.
Shameful.
So, anyway, my question is: what are you going to do? Which one do you watch? Do you watch the. Do you watch the American Idol wannabe, which is what the TPUSA is putting together? Or do you watch Bad Bunny?
Let's go to Lester in Georgia. All right, Lester, what say you? Help us out here. It's real simple, Todd. First off, I'd like to say I love President Trump.
I love ICE and them putting their life on the line every day for us. Can they help us? bring America back to where it was. the people that President Trump has working for him that's working for and with him, Well them And that should tell you right there, which one am I going to watch? Neither one.
I ain't gonna watch the Super Bowl. I ain't gonna watch none of that. There's nothing worth. Hello. America's basically sold its soul.
For oh Football, and you know, I go to church. And me and my wife both ordained ministers, and we'll go to church. And people don't want to really, you know, get excited and praise about Jesus Christ. And, you know, they don't want to show no emotion. take that same person, put 'em in a football stand.
And they act like idiots. Painting their faces, everything else, standing up, you know, and I mean, it's just ridiculous. We need to get back to what's right. Get back to God. And by the way, God heard you sing Kumbaya.
But I feel see, I feel bad now, Lester. Jeez, a low. I just. You know, I just got put on somebody's prayer list. Yeah, well, you know, the Bible says make a joyful noise.
It doesn't say it has to be good. There you go. That's fair enough. Maybe I should do the halftime show. There you go.
Well, all of us up here in Dawsonville, Georgia. Love the Lord. And we try to, you know, somebody said something about, you know, trying to, Georgia was going to try to go. Blue. I said, Ain't no way.
Not as long as I'm still living here. It's not. But we we we get out and we talk to people all year long. About the good things that President Trump does, about the good things that ICE is doing. ICE is doing what.
Anybody else would do. If somebody was coming in their house. Absolutely. And that's a great, you know, Lester, that's a great way to look at it: is that we, you're right, this is our house. The United States of America is our great big house.
And you don't come into somebody's house uninvited. I mean, it really is that simple. All right, Lester, thank you for that. Got to go for a break, my friend. All right, ladies and gentlemen, which one are you going for?
TPUSA halftime or Bad Bunny halftime? 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. Coming up. Our U.S.
Olympic team, they're going woke, people. You're not going to believe it. Dylan CBS News actually listed like the top The top 10 Super Bowl halftime performances of all time. Do you have any favorites that you remember? I wasn't alive for Prince, but I heard that he's the best one of all time.
According to most people, I'm trying to think of some of my favorites. I really liked. Honestly, and I I don't even listen to rap that much, but the um It was like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. They had like Eminem.
Yeah, Mary J. Blige. Fitty. Yes. My good buddy.
You know, Fitty and I are friends back in the day. That's pretty odd. That was back in 2022, way back in the day. Yeah, I liked that one a lot. And, you know.
That made number nine on the list, by the way. And number 10, countdown, Destiny's Child, which was 2013.
So, and then Michael Jackson, number eight, that was back in 93. Were you born? When were you born? 99. Most of the good ones happened before I was alive.
You're a child. Yeah. You're a child. Unfortunately. Interesting.
So Lady Gaga is making the list too, by the way. Yeah, because she like jumped from the sky thing. She did like the skydive. People were really surprised. Wow.
It's yeah, look, I mean, back in the day, they used to have marching bands, and I always enjoyed the marching bands. That was like before everything. That was like before cameras. Go stay another corner. Let's go to the phones.
901-260-5926. Mark in Indiana. Hi, Mark. How are you today? I'm doing great, Todd.
Good to talk to you.
Well, likewise, Mark, I have to imagine you guys already had your Super Bowl there in Indiana. That's right. All right, so what's your take on this half-time show?
So Well, I'll be watching the turning point halftime show because at least those guys had guts enough to schedule something. as an alternative, which I respect. Yeah, it's going to be, I think, on Trinity Broadcasting. This is a Christian TV network, so Kid Rocko, he's going to have to keep it family-friendly. Yes.
But I I do like the fact that somebody actually did something about it instead of just talking about how bad the NFLs is. You know what? That is a fair argument, and honestly, Mark, that is a fair argument. By the way, I'm just, how excited were you guys in Indiana with your, I mean, Fernando Mendoza? What an amazing season you guys had.
Yeah, from going from the all-time losingest program. to national championship is a pretty awesome story and to do it with a quarterback who's such an outstanding young man. Pretty often. You know, they're going to have to make a movie about this one. I mean, they've done it, they did it with what Rudy and Notre Dame.
They're going to have the replacements. That was a great movie. Gene Hackman and Keanu Reeves. Great, by the way, Dylan, great quote from that movie: Chicks Dig Scars. Hey, I haven't seen it, but I'm going to watch that movie.
You got to watch that movie. It's a great movie. It's a great movie. So they're going to have to, Mark, you better believe it. They're going to make a movie about the Indiana Hoosiers here.
Your great football team. Yeah, they should. It'd be a great movie. It would. I'd go to watch it.
I would watch it. Who do you get to play Fernando Mendoza, though? That's the big question. I don't know, maybe Fernando. All right, Mark, thanks for that call.
Let's go to Bill in High Point, North Carolina, our great affiliate there, WSJS. Hi, Bill. What's on your mind? No, can I Pretty much point blank about this. I don't intend to watch whether it's bad bunny or good gopher.
I ain't watching none of it. Good gopher. Wait, is that a real thing or is that made up? I I don't know music these days. They make them up every day.
But if If I were to I haven't watched. really real T V in about eight years. All right. I get my information from shows like yours, Todd. And God bless you for being out there for us.
Thank you. Bill, I appreciate that.
Well, thank you. Thank you, sir. And I know the folks over at TPOSA are going to be excited for all the folks watching their program. Thank you for listening. Dylan, this crazy story out of the Olympics.
You know, the Olympics are coming up, what, any day now, I think. And my understanding is, Italy just did a terrible job of, you know, the stadiums are not finished. Uh they're really they're already dilapidated. They just built the things. And anyway, there's a big controversy now with the U.S.
Olympic team.
So They have a place where all the Olympians can gather just to sort of chill out. I guess it's more like a lounge. A hospitality place, so you can maybe get, I don't know, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, maybe belly up to the bar. And so they called it the ice house, right? I mean, that's a pretty clever name.
You're in the winter games. And they call it the ice house. And you know why they call it the ice house? Because it's cold. It's winter.
So, anyway, somebody said, Oh, wait a second, wait, wait a second, that's offensive. How dare you, Olympians, call our hospitality suite the Ice House? What are you going to do? Have like federal agents hiding behind the couch, under the cushions? Ready to pounce and grab all the illegal Olympians?
Wait, what? Huh? A rup? What what? No, it's true.
So apparently, people were so upset about this. They said this is offensive, and we have got to be sensitive, people. We have to be sensitive.
So they said, we got to change the name. You cannot call your hospitality suite the ice house. No, this is not the Babylon B. No, Dylan, this is not the Babylon B. This is a real story.
So they're sitting around and They were concerned. that woke athletes might misconstrue the meaning of the word ice. They've also banned. any music from the rapper known as Also the other one Blank T We did. Vanilla blank.
What about all the sports that go like the ice skating? Like the Bob Slutt, like the all those. What what's gonna happen? Yeah, I got you covered on that. I I did some thinking about this.
So for the sake of so first of all, they've changed the name, and so for the sake of sensitivity, and that's what this is all about, being sensitive. They renamed the ice house the Winter House.
So they're not going to be the fig. Yes. So the speed skaters and the hockey, they're not going to be on the ice. We're hitting the ice. You can't say that anymore.
So now they're going to be sliding onto an oval body of frozen water. And the figure skaters are going to be prancing around on a sheet of winter precipitation. Very nice, very nice. The commentators are going to have a field day. I'm just trying to help them out.
You know, somebody's going to get canceled over that. Probably in this day and age. Yeah, yeah, you're right. Man, look at those skaters out there on the ice. Wait, what?
You're out of here. The next segment is a full apology. They'll go to bars. That's terrible.
So anyway, if you are in the winter house and you're a little parched after your speed skating competition, whatever you do, do not ask the bartender for extra ice. Don't do that. That you can't do it.
So, anyway, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. The pride and joy of America. We have not even, here's how amazing our athletes are. The games have not even commenced and we've already taken home the gold medal for virtue signaling. 901-260-5926.

Let's go to the phone lines here, and we'll get into more of that in the next hour of the program. 901-260-5926. Let's say hello to Jerry in Iowa, radio station KXEL. What's going on, Jerry?
So I am concerned about changing the name of Ice House. I think that would be sensitive. And it could be changed to something like The CBP grill, and you could order shooters, and you could have pepper sprayed on your greased meat. And maybe even have some fried bad bunny. Mm-hmm.
Nothing wrong with the little hair. PBP grill. CBP Girl. Yeah, that And then uh And then I would make one comment about the Super Bowl. If a bunch of Christians are sitting around watching.
Yeah. fried bad bunny, then, um, you know, it's kind of like I think who who said that one of the greatest evils is that good people would do nothing. And it's like the It's like the least you can do is swipe some of their advertising dollars because they're going to find out how many people watch this alternative show, and it's going to hurt their advertising.
So I'm going to be, we're having some Christians over to watch the game. And we're going to be delighted to watch. Erica and a more wholesome show than this nasty. thing that they do to us every year. Yes.
And that's a a fairly good point. That was Edmund Burke, by the way, who said that. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil Is for good men to do nothing. Yeah, I, you know, that could be a way to cast your objections, is just simply turning off the halftime show. We shall see.
I mean, the ratings, they do measure everything as far as the ratings go.
So it'll be interesting to see if there's actually a ratings drop. I will say this: I will be watching it only because. This is what we do for our great listeners. We watch, so you don't have to.
So we allow our ears to bleed.
So yours won't. We do that. Thank you. I mean, that's yeah, yeah, yeah, I think it is. It's actually doing something.
I mean, just do anything. to help good triumph and don't just go along with the culture.
So I think we really need to change it to the CBP grill and definitely order the shooters. We'll definitely order the shooters. And extra ice and everything. Yeah, lots of lots. Lots of ice.
All right, Jerry.
Well played.
Well played.
Wow, Jerry was really clever today. All right. We we do have a great, very talented audience. nine hundred one two six zero five nine two six our telephone number. That's nine hundred one two six zero five nine two six.
So uh New Yorkers, Are enraged right now. Enraged. Turns out their Ugandan mayor, Zoran Mamdami. Decided to visit and console a man who tried to kill a cop with a knife. We've got the.
I want you to listen. You're going to hear. You're going to hear what it sounded like as this guy just literally almost plunged a knife into the chest of a New York City police officer. Take a listen. And as you said, I spoke with the Chakraborty family, and I visited Chavez in the hospital.
And there is. No family. should have to endure. This kind of pain. Blah blah blah blah.
I know it's so. Yeah. Put the knife down, put the knife down, put the knife down, put the knife down, move, move, move, move, move, put the knife down, put the knife down, put the knife down so and seven times, eight times, the officer is like, put the knife down. And instead, the guy charged the officer and shot the guy. And So again, the mayor is more The mayor is more concerned about the well-being of the criminal.
who tried to kill the cop. That's insane. But you voted for it, ladies and gentlemen. All you New Yorkers, you voted for that. All right, 901-260-5926.
Let's go to Hendersonville, North Carolina, WHKP, great station. Maria, what is on your mind today? Yes, I am calling about the child and the father that were released from ICE detention recently. And I am questioning the behavior of the father Who ran away and abandoned the child, and also the behavior of the mother who would not even let the child be returned to the home.
So I question, are these the child's real parents? Or is this one of those 300 and some thousand children that were trafficked? that uh was found but has unwittingly been returned to an abusive situation, because that's not the behavior of loving parents. I mean, any fear you have for yourself being deported would Be overridden by your love for a child that is truly yours. And you wouldn't run away and just abandon the child to ice or anyone else like that.
Well, it's a fair point you raise, Maria. And of course, the media they like to gloss over that part of it is that the man abandoned his own child. If, in fact, to your point, this is. Their child, and I would like to think that the Trump administration is doing its due diligence before letting this guy go with this child. I would be safe to.
I think it's safe to say that the Trump administration, you know, they investigated to figure out who this guy. You know, really is. But, Maria, I think the bigger story here is the disinformation coming out of the media and the way they're portraying a lot of these cases. When you tie that into the outright anti-ICE, anti-Trump propaganda that's being spewed in America's classrooms, we are setting ourselves up for a very dangerous situation come the winter, come the spring thaw when all of these protesters start hitting the streets and marching. Because, Maria, if you think it's bad now, you wait until the weather clears up a little bit and they go full bore.
They're going to make what happened in the aftermath of George Floyd looks like child's play. Yes, I agree. All this anti-American, anti-God sentiment goes completely against scripture. Scripture. Scripture says, Go ye Christians, go ye into all the world and make disciples of Christ.
It does not say bring these anti-God people into your house. We are to go to them. We don't bring them to our country and let it become corrupted like this.
Well, well said, Maria, and thank you for calling in. Thank you for listening to us. Go ye You know, why didn't they invite Kanye, by the way? I mean, he could have done the T P U S A thing. He did apologize recently, so again, trying to make amends.
What's up?
Somebody's Bieber's in the headlines. Is he out there dancing in his boxer shorts or something? Yeah, he went out on the Grammys and, well, he went out, he wasn't wearing anything except for his underwear. And he put a big giant mirror on stage so he could see himself, I guess. Wow.
That boy. Good performance. Yeah. Yeah. I.
I think, well, I'm not going to say that. I'm not going to. We'll save that for another day, another conversation. 901-260-5926 coming up. We got to talk about this debate last night.
Our good buddy Steve Hilton taking part in the gubernatorial debate and I thought he did a great job. As a matter of fact, so did the people watching because Hilton actually won the debate, according to viewers, and he was just tearing it up. Chad Bianco, his Republican opponent, was a no-show. And Bianco's got big problems because video has surfaced of Bianco taking a knee during the George Floyd protest. Remember that when all these woke law enforcement types were dropping to a knee?
So we're going to get into more of that coming up in the next hour. Also, our good buddy Mike Ring, the president of Old Glory Bank, is going to drop by.
Well, we're just getting started, everybody. A 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. La da da na na na na na na na na na na na na. Live.
From the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. It's America's conservative blowtorch. That's us! That's us! Bye.
I love Love is American. In rise. Todd start. And hello, everybody. Welcome to hour two of the big show.
I am Todd Stearns, your host, and we have a jam-packed hour. For you. By the way, our telephone number, if you'd like to weigh in, 901. 260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.
Interesting story in the Economic Times. Uh here's the headline. Fifty percent of entry-level white-collar jobs could vanish in five years. as AI takes over the workplace. Harvard Business Review Companies are laying off workers because of AI's potential, not its performance.
CNBC AI is already taking white collar jobs. Economists warn there's much more in the tank that coming from Goldman Sachs.
Well, I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and say hello to our good friend Mike Ring, President and CEO of Old Glory Bank. Mike, it's been a while. Hope you're doing well. We are. Thank you, Todd.
And we're talking about opportunities for our people, Main Street. I love that. And again, Main Street and the bank for Main Street, which is what Old Glory Bank is all about. I mean, you guys are just running and gunning these days. Yeah, we really are.
Thank you. We've now passed $250 million in deposits. And remember, just a couple of years ago, we started with $10, thanks to people. Like you out there talking a lot with Todd, we've now got over 80,000 accounts. Of course, we're in all 50 states, and we're still the best online banking solution.
In America's not even close. You can open an account in eight minutes, and we've got a full unification of crypto into daily banking. We're a big fan of digital assets in the DeFi economy because you can't have true freedom unless you're on the blockchain and you're outside of the purview of the Federal Reserve.
So please check us out on our homepage. But what I wanted to call in today and talk about with you is exactly what you brought up, that there is a blue collar revival For us people living and serving Main Street, this is our time because of AI. Yeah. Well, it's and again, this has been a big push by the administration, you know, the president encouraging young people to go to trade schools. And we are a country that needs construction workers, and we need electricians, we need plumbers, pipe fitters, we need people to be able to work on those assembly lines as the automobile industry returns to America.
And it's such a good life as you think about it, Todd. Like, I'm 60 now, I don't want to date you, but I've probably got a couple of years on you. But we kind of grew up in a culture where you'd work a good solid 40, 45 hours a week. And you could come home and spend the evening with your family. You could go to church on Sunday.
You could have family on the weekends. because we had a blue collar good job. My dad sold pasta. We grew up on a dirt road. And I'm so excited, like for a whole generation, kids were told go to college, learn to code and work twenty hours a day.
And now, thankfully. Hopefully, we can teach kids. You know what? It is a very good life. You can make six figures and above by becoming a technician, by becoming a tradesperson, as you said, whether it's a lineman.
whether it's an aircraft mechanic, an HBA state technician. Oh, by the way, if you want to be an entrepreneur and make a million dollars a year, get twelve people working for you. Still, you can make as much money as you want in this country, but no more gender study degrees, no more silly degrees. Learn to work with your hands, learn to communicate with people, because otherwise, AI is coming for your job. You and I are at risk, Todd.
I mean, how could could you be duplicated by AI, I worry?
Well, Mike, I can answer that question for you because I was fiddling around with the whole chat GPT and I said, you know, write something, you know, and I threw in some words, you know, because I write with a certain southern flair. And I got like banned from chat GPT because I think they thought the word badonka donk was offensive or something.
So I think I'm safe. I think I'm safe, Mike. Let me just do one more data point on this. Over the last couple of days, The software index is way down because I'm not an AI person and we don't use AI at Oaklory Bank.
Someone calls, you pick up the phone. If you want to talk to a bot, call Chase Bank. Or if you want to talk to a human in Duran, Oklahoma, call Oaklory Bank. But looking looking at some of these indexes, They're down 5% in the last couple of days. The software index is down 18%.
since the start of the year and it's only February. And so there is a awakening, and I think Anthropic, and I'm not a Anthropic user, but they're a great AI apparently, and they've got a new model called Quad, and apparently, it greatly increases automation of coding and legal drafting.
So lawyers, coders, You're warned. That's it. There's an interesting survey they did of Generation Z and fifty three percent of Gen Z, according to Financial Times, considering skilled trade careers for better pay and stability. What do you make of this? Mike.
Those are huge numbers. Yeah, it's so well said. Listen, I've got a 20-year-old kid and an 18-year-old kid, and they and their friends talk about this. All the time, and we've got to thank Donald Trump for this. If Kamala Harris had won, not only would we have 6,000 problems, the gas would be $5.
a gallon, but they would still be pushing the same The same silliness. Go to college, we'll pay for you. Get a useless degree, and then we'll continue to import migrants to do the work for us. And thankfully, with Trump, and JD is very big on this, we're saying, folks, it is a great life. to actually work with your hand and And do things that matter.
And trust me, AI is never going to show up and build me a fence or build me a beautiful addition on our house. That takes workers in. And if you're an American working, and by the way, this is where I love unions. For the tradespeople, the tradesmen and ladies, I think unions are good there. School, public unions, the worst.
But for these types of Get into the apprentice and be an electrician. Join the union. You can make a great living and do things that matter, and you will not be replaced. Yeah, no, you're right. My dad was an electrician, and he was a member of the union, and you're right.
I mean, those are the good guys. You know, I was looking at some of the data here, and this is fascinating. Do you know that an elevator installer, you guys are going to be making over $100,000 a year? And a lot of these kids, Mike, that go to college, and again, we're not, and hear us, folks, we're not saying college is bad, but college is just not for everyone. And for so long, I think during the Obama years, people were told if you don't go to college, there's something wrong with you, and you'll never be able to make anything of yourselves.
Trump comes along and says, hey, you don't have to go to college. You can get a job in the blue-collar world, and you can be very successful. And I think that's ultimately, you know, I think the nation is healing now, Mike, as a result of the messaging coming out of the White House. And you know what doesn't happen when you actually show up and work on a job site? Your mind is not polluted with crazy liberal theories and you actually learn what community and family and helping your neighbor matters.
And that is what built this country. And if we got back to where your mentors and your influences were people who had real jobs, And work and not college professors with all respect have never had probably a job. The entire community, the entire culture, what matters in our values goes back to what makes this country great. And that's why, thank goodness for Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and people in you talking about this.
It is a blue-collar revival, ladies and gentlemen. Jump on it and take advantage of it. We had a guy call in once from Florida. He was training to become a diesel mechanic. He was in his early 20s.
He was listening to the radio show while he was in the garage. And he called into the show, and it was so refreshing to hear these young people that are making those decisions. And this is the course they want to go. And the guy made a great point. He said, Mr.
Starnes, when I get out of here, I'm not going to have any debt. Unlike a sibling who went to college and is going to be paying off for the next 30 years. You can go back to buying a house. If you come out and make a good job, $40,000, $50,000 a year, which an entry-level welder can make. You can buy that first starter home because you're not battled with $300,000 of still ebb.
It's where we've got to get back to.
Now, listen, we need lawyers, we need doctors. We need people on Wall Street. They can they can do to college, but most of us there's so many good jobs out there. And when we bring the workforce, and Donald Trump brings manufacturing, especially specialized manufacturing, building specialized parts it is a great life and a great opportunity to grow regrow the middle class.
Well said. Mike Ring is president and CEO of Old Glory Bank. Old Glorybank.com/slash Sterns, ladies and gentlemen. Go check out their website, Banking Founded on Fern. Freedom, FDIC Insured Bank, for all of you freedom-loving Americans, and they're just growing by leaps and I mean, Mike, it's been so remarkable and impressive to see the explosive growth of Old Glory Bank.
We only have God and folks like you to thank for this. And it's very simple. Banking is not hard. The big banks make it hard. But if you actually provide the best product, product, product and customer service and you love your customers, and by the way, you don't have to love us.
You don't have to love the Constitution and the flag. We still love you, and that's what makes us different. And we would never debank someone who disagreed with us.
So we're the opposite of those weak CEOs at Bank of America. and Chase Bank, who debanked people who disagree with them. Love that. All right, Mike, always good hearing from you, my friend. And we appreciate the great word and the great encouragement for all of those young people out there.
Our younger listeners may be looking at a blue collar job. Go get a real job, folks. It's a great life. I love it. All right, Mike.
God bless. Thank you, sir. All right. Good man, right there, ladies and gentlemen. Mike Ring, President and CEO of O Glory Bank.
And what I love about Old Glory Bank is we are building this secondary economy where we have Patriot Mobile, we have MyPillow, we have Old Glory Bank, we have all of these like-minded organizations that are standing together for freedom-loving Patriots. And by the way, you can open an account in minutes. I have one over there at Old Glory Bank. I love it. It is an incredible, incredible bank, and you ought to check it out as well.
All right, again. Going back to what we were talking about here with this rise, this revival of blue-collar workers in America. This is going to revolutionize our country. And going back to the AI part of the story here. AI is literally wiping out white-collar jobs.
And I don't see, I don't see, I know that people are freaking out about it. I'm not sure how they can fix it. How do you stop it? I mean, how do you stop AI? You know, Dylan, I was watching a video yesterday.
And I could not tell if it was real or AI. I mean, that's how good the technology is, it's like advancing every single day. Yeah, I fear media-wise that videos like that are gonna keep getting better and better. And um soon nobody will know what's real or not, and then it'll just be chaos. I mean, how do I even know that you're real?
I mean, you're but you're right across from me, but I mean I am behind glass, so I could be a hologram could be a hologram this whole time. I'm an Indiate. Oh, I caught myself. I was going to say something that definitely would have gotten me canceled. Yeah.
I did have curry last night, by the way. It was very tasty. 901-260-5926. No, go. Remember what Elon said.
Remember, we were talking about this just the other day. Elon was talking about doctors, and he said, There's no need to go to medical school because soon, AI, we're going to have these robots, and they're going to take over the medical industry, and they're going to be able to diagnose you, and they're going to be able to do all these things that the human doctors would not ever be able to do. And I have a big problem with that. Only from the standpoint of, I don't need a robot telling me when I'm going to die, you know, because that's what they're doing. They're like analyzing you, and they can tell you, okay, here's your expiration date.
Not only that, I mean, how many of you really want one of those robots to stick a probe up your butt? Yeah, I not me. Mm. 901, I just I don't know about you, but I just puckered. 901-260-5926.
This is the Todd Stern Show. Yikes. All right, welcome back, everybody. This is the Ton Sterns Radio Show. Let's go to the phones, Mark.
from the villages, America's friendliest hometown. Mark, what's going on? Yeah, speaking of probes, that guy you talked about yesterday that had that you know, from the W World War One per projectile up his backside, he wouldn't have a problem with this issue, I'll tell you that.
Well I just wanted to, I wasn't, but that's not what I wanted to talk about. All right. Oh, my word. All right, Mark. What's up?
God, you have a guy doing a halftime show at a Super Bowl in a dress and a third. Good. Date. Run by Slimeball Flickhead Newsers. That should tell you everything you need to know.
How about that state? And I'm also not sure what Roger Cadell was thinking, but he's afraid they were going to. Suit him up in a dress. I I think I'm just gonna sit back and watch Landman with Billy Bob and good old Sam Elliott. I'll probably play it sinks.
You know, Landman is an amazing TV series. They went a little squirrely this past season, but I think they're right back on track. It ended on a high note. And looking forward to season three? I think, yeah, season three.
Yeah, it's it's I'll tell you, everybody kept telling me to watch it, so I started watching the first season yesterday. I'm like, this show is unbelievable. The writers, the guy that wrote this is incredible, too. But I mean, it. The stuff they come out with is just unbelievable, but it's an incredible show.
I think that'll probably be a lot more entertaining than watching a guy running around on a stage in a dress. Fair enough. Mark, I think you may be on to something. All right, my friend, good hearing from you. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number.
So Steve Hilton. Man, he did a great job in the gubernatorial debate. Right now, the last polling data I saw, you had both Republicans, Bianco Chad Bianco and Steve Hilton, In the lead, and they have what they call a jungle primary in California.
So the top two vote catters are. Always advance to the general. And it doesn't matter if they're normally both Democrats. Um so so this is huge. Huge and people are just disgusted right now with what's been happening in California.
But anyway, Bianco, a sheriff there in Riverside County. And he took a knee during the George Floyd protest. Steve Hilton called him out on it last night. Take a listen. Before we go on, I really think I need to address the elephant in the room or perhaps, as some might say, the rhino who's not in the room.
My Republican Colleen. Chad Bianco is not here tonight to face these Democrats for his record. In 2020. During the Black Lives Matter riots, he took a knee. When told to by BLM.
Now he says he was praying.
Well, watch the video for yourself. at blmbianco.org That is blmbianco.org. We cannot. Risk splitting. the Republican vote and letting the Democrats in.
Chad Bianco has got more baggage than LA X. We cannot have BLM Bianco, the shifty sheriff, as our candidate. Chad Bianco, he needs to drop out of this race just as he dropped out of today's debate. On the question of immigration, it's very clear. I'm a legal immigrant.
I am here for the legal immigrant community so they can have the California dream, and I will make sure that all laws, including our immigration laws, are peacefully enforced. All right, there you have it. Steve Hilton, by the way, many of you saw him on, he had a weekend show on Fox News. Hilton, according to CalMatters.org, is now leading the polls. He's number one of the polls.
He's pulling in more cash than nearly all the other candidates in this. Election cycle. This is really, really shaping up to be a very interesting race.
So, there you go. Steve Hilton, we'll get him back on the show. Kind of take a break. We'll be right back. All right.
Welcome back, everybody. Great to have you with us. And again, that story from Cal Matters: Republican Steve Hilton, the former Fox News contributor, is winning right now the fundraising race in California. Also, two Republicans leading in the polls right now. You have Chad Bianco as well as Steve Hilton.
I want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Say hello to our good friend, Fox News columnist Liz Peake. Liz, good to have you with us today. Todd, thanks so much for having me on. I appreciate it.
You know, it's really fascinating watching. Of course, we still have a lot of ground to cover, but the fact that you've got two Republicans leading in the polls in California right now in this, and of course, they have the jungle primary, this could get really interesting. Uh it would be earth-shattering. right way to put it. I it's it's almost impossible to imagine.
Although there are a lot of Republicans in California, and they just don't show up because of redistricting. And of course, it's only going to get worse from here. Because the governor has approved a redistricting effort, even though the voters made it very, very clear that they didn't want to have partisan gerrymandering. Still, that's what you have. Anyway, look, how could it not be that at least some portion of that state is worried about the direction the state is taking?
I mean, I put out a piece about Gavin Newsome about. A week ago, five days ago, saying, Look, he's driving the state into the ground. I mean, people are leaving like crazy. They I think they've lost over one about one point five million people over the last ten years. Businesses are leaving.
Now you have even Silicon Valley tech Billionaires leaving and threatening to leave because of the impossible imposition of a wealth tax. Uh, I mean, talk about trying to drive out your best and brightest, that's what they're trying to do.
Meanwhile, the whole Problem in California is gigantic. And Todd, I think one of the things that could really upend Gavin Newsom and Democrats, Gavin Newsome, who of course is running for President and Democrats generally in California, is this whole allegation of pretty big fraud problems. And wherever you have such an enormous number of illegals living in your state, there does appear to be a pretty big frog thumb in terms of. Benefits going to people who don't deserve it, and scammers trying to steal as the Somalis did in Minnesota. uh benefit checks and stuff like that.
not benefit checks, but enormous amounts of money trying to You know, flowing into fictitious enterprises So I think there's a lot going on in California. And by the way, another thing that's happening in California is they're not rebuilding after the fires. You've had like something like sixteen thousand homes destroyed in the wildfires last year, about only 4,000 Applications for rebuilding have been submitted, but only 2,000 have been approved.
So, actually, recently, Chris and Trump said: hey, they're not getting the job done. And in Trump's mind, it says prime territory, which it is prime real estate.
So he is vowed to go in there and take over the process because Gavin Newsom clearly isn't allowing building. But that isn't Endemic problem to California. It is either the number one or number two state in terms of unaffordability, the worst affordability in the country. Part of it is because they don't allow building. The cost of building anything is absolutely fooze.
Through the roof So, I mean, all in all, honestly, it's a dysfunctional state. And you would think at some point voters would rise up and say, yeah, we don't like this. We want to change. As a matter of fact, you know, on that issue of the rebuilding, Spencer Pratt, who is one of the stars of the Hills, is launching a campaign for mayor on that very issue. And he's running as a Republican, even though the race is officially nonpartisan.
So that is a major issue, the rebuilding of Pacific Palisades. You know, you mentioned the economy, Liz, and I know you've got a piece up on Fox News, FoxNews.com, that Americans are not being told the truth about the economy.
Well, all right.
So it's no surprise that the liberal media is not treating the economy fairly. They don't treat anything to do with President Trump fairly. And they know that this is the number one issue for voters Going into the midterm, so they can just paint a pretty dark picture. Two things happen: one, consumer sentiment goes down, and we've seen that. Consumer sentiment is pretty low right now, and it's not interestingly low on how people view their current situation, but how they view their future situation.
All right. Strikes me as more of a statement on what they're hearing about the future impact tariffs will have, the future impact AI will have on jobs, et cetera, than the reality on the ground, which is that real incomes are rising, inflation is getting better, mortgage rates have come down, gasoline prices are down, all this stuff, which by the way, you never hear talked about on Bloomberg or CNBC because they don't want that. They don't want that good news out there. There is good news about the economy. Uh and I think that President Trump understands that.
He's been told that You know, even solving the war in Ukraine just isn't what voters are interested in. They're really interested in the price of bread at the grocery store.
So he's campaigning on this. I want him to really stick to the facts because he has the high ground here. His economy is indeed booming. growing at better than 4%. With a lot of attendant good things coming out of that, like new investments and productivity.
I saw Today, the ISI Services number was very good. Manufacturing is beginning to increase for after a long, long-term decline.
So all these things are very positive stuff. But when he goes out there and says there's no inflation and grocery prices are going down and it's not true, people then just sort of disregard all the other good things and real things that he's talking about.
So I kind of hope that he tightens up his message. Sticks to the facts. The facts are very good. And somebody said to me yesterday, well, you know, how are voters going to be turned around? What's going to change their view?
The answer is: there's no great one. Thunderclap of news that's going to make a difference here is going to be gradually people feeling better off. gradually those rising Real incomes impacting their spending capability. And also, of course, tax refunds are going to be up, and that should hopefully lift the sentiment a little bit. But you know, as I said, there were two reasons the sentiment going down is or that the bad news is being portrayed.
One is to crush sentiment and growth, because it does have an impact on growth. The other one is, you know, they can kind of color The news to disadvantage Republicans going into the midterms. I mean, it's a pretty simple game. They played it before, and they're playing it now. Yeah, no, I think that's a fair point.
And the economy is getting better. But we hear it. I think he was talking about rent is coming down. The price of rent is coming down. We got calls from people saying, where?
Because it's not happening to them.
So again, some of these things are out of the control of the president for the price of eggs.
Okay, well, let's just say we'll take that as an example.
Well, diesel prices are going to have to come down before that trickle-down happens on the price of eggs, if in fact it actually comes down. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, but so we have a new Fed chair, Kevin Worsch, and one of his arguments for possibly lowering rates, interest rates. going forward is the productivity boom associated with growing AI investment.
So how does that work?
Okay, if you're a manufacturer and you're producing widgets and along comes the technology that makes you produce them more efficiently, you can lower prices and be more competitive because you're saving on the production cost of those widgets. What Kevin Morsh is saying is long term, we are now in this huge, people have to realize, hundreds of billions of dollars going into new investment in AI. And there's a reason for that. Yes, investors are skittish about where's the payoff.
Well, companies aren't doing it for fun. They see the payoff coming. And the payoff coming means, I think, a very good underpinning to lower inflation. But just as another side note, I also think consumer pushback is having some impact. PepsiCo announced earnings yesterday, and they also announced that they're going to be lowering prices.
As much as 15% on a lot of their snack foods. Why is that? Because guess what? People are tired of going to the grocery store and just seeing an automatic 10% price increase on things that they've been buying.
So I do think, for a bunch of reasons, I do think the numbers are going to get better. It's not going to happen overnight. But in the next six months, yeah, I think we'll see some improvement. All right, Liz, we're going to leave it there. Folks, you can read her great columns at Foxnews.com, also LizPeak.com.
Liz, great work. Appreciate it. Thank you for having me. Have a good day, guys. All right, you too.
Great Liz Peak, everybody. All right. Got to take a quick break here. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.
You know, I'm on the weight loss journey. I'm sort of holding at 11 pounds loss so far. And hopefully, once all the snow gets cleared off, I'll be able to head back over to the Baptist Promenade and. Start chunking off a few pounds, making the round. It's a two and a half mile loop, by the way, around that lake, Dylan.
I didn't realize that. It's a good trek, right? It's a pretty good trek. Twice around, and you're good to go. Anyway.
One of the ways I've been able to do it through Calatrin, of course, but also, you know, you've got to have your energy, right?
So you're out there, you're exercising, and you can't be drinking a Dr. Pepper when you're exercising. That defeats the point. That's why I use Field of Greens. You know, doctors these days are looking beyond just your calendar age.
They're looking at what they call the biological age, how healthy your cells are in your vital organs. And that's where Field of Greens comes into play. They were designed, every fruit and vegetable selected by doctors to support your cells, your heart, your lungs, kidney. And also, healthy weight. In fact, a university study found that participants who only added Field of Greens actually saw measurable improvements in key health markers.
And if you don't, well, Field of Greens is going to give you your money back.
So you really have no excuse not to try it out.
So here's what I want you to do: check out fieldofgreens.com. That's fieldofgreens.com. Use promo code STARNS. When you go to the website, you'll be able to check out that university study. Use my promo code STARNS.
You're going to get 20% off your order. Yeah, that's right. 20% off. Fieldofgreens.com. That's fieldofgreens.com.
Promo code STARNS. Yeah. All right, coming up, Senator Marcia Blackburn will join us. Also, Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs from the Good friend from the WWE now, one of the great rising political stars. In the southern states.
Hey, let's go to the phone lines at 901-260-5926. Danny in Selmer, Tennessee. Hi, Danny. What's on your mind today? Good afternoon, sir.
I just want to mention something that people often overlook about the rising prices and concern about tariffs and such. And basically Tariffs and income tax sort of work hand in hand, or supposed to.
So if you g raise tariffs. you pay more money for the things you buy. If you lower income taxes, you get taxed less on the money you earn.
So as before income tax began, the only way government got money was from tariffs. And there was no income tax.
So you only was taxed on what you purchased. and you kept all your money.
So as tariffs go up, and income taxes go down, You should have more money in your pocket to buy the other things that go up because of the tariff price. If it works out perfect, it'll be the same. You'll have more money to spend. on more expensive things, and you're getting taxed on what you buy rather than what you earn. It's a very simple concept.
But a lot of people overlook that part. No, it is very simple. How do you take President Trump's tariffs and how they're working out?
Well that's One thing he doesn't point out is the fact that he's talking about people getting tax rebates and stuff like that. They're like, no, don't do that. You know, it's like, no, he's raising the tariffs so that people can keep more of their income.
So he's on the right track. I think if he just spelled it out. stated it a little more basic, people would understand the concept and why over time, if they do it properly, our income tax rate will go down maybe to zero. You keep all the money you earn and you only get taxed on what you buy.
So the ratio, if it works out, basically things won't be more expensive percentage wise compared to what you earn because you have more money in your pocket. There you go. Danny, it's look, it's common sense, and you're right. You did a terrific job explaining it. Thank you for that call, sir, and thank you for listening to the program.
Billy Eilish is still Causing a stir. You know, at the Grammys, she went off about this stolen land. And of course, it turns out she owns a $14 million mansion, which is reportedly on stolen land.
So people are saying, All right, are you going to give back your house to the Indian people? And so, anyway, a guy from a British TV network, Ben Leo. Decided to go ask her.
So he went to her house. Let's take a listen. Let us in, please, Billy. We are here because this is stolen land, Billy. and we think we should be given access to your quite lovely three million dollar mansion.
Okay. Hello, Ben Leo from The Late Show Live on GB News. Do you remember when Billie Eilish said this at the Grammys? No one is illegal on stolen land. Um Well, Billy reckons there's no such thing as an illegal human because we're all on stolen land.
So we're here in Billy's quite posh neighbourhood in Los Angeles. Let's go and see if she practices what she preaches. Hopefully, if she sticks by her merits, she'll have no problem with me waltzing in, maybe making a cup of coffee or a tea. Three million dollar home, she's got.
Some paddocks out at the back with stables and horses. Maybe we can go for a horse ride. I'm sure she'd have no problem with it because she stood up on the stage with the Grammys, tens of thousands of people watching in the audience, millions around the world. The clip's gone viral. Here we go.
Oh, nice little place. Bins around, it's been collection day. First of all, isn't that ironic? Massive gates keeping people out. I thought Billy didn't believe in borders.
According to the driveway, Billy does believe in borders. She believes in massive gates keeping people out. A couple of cameras up there as well. The lights are on, so somebody must be home. Let us in, please, Billy.
We are here because this is stolen land, Billy. and we think we should be given access to your quite lovely $3 million mansion. And such is Billy's concern for security and privacy. It's surrounded by pretty decent security fencing. Very nice indeed, massive security hedges as well.
She's taken a lot of concern and time to make sure she's got some privacy, as you'd expect. Oh, there we go. At the $3 million Los Angeles pad of Billie Eilish, she reckons nobody's illegal because we're all on stolen land anyway, but when it comes to her own house here in LA, I think she's got different ideas. No, that's funny.
So it turns out that Billie Eilish, her home, is behind these giant walls. What is up with all of these all of these Hollywood elitists? They're out there saying, well, we've got to tear down the walls. No borders. And yet their homes have borders and walls.
and they're protected by security. The sheer hypocrisy of it all is bonkers crazy. Kevin O'Leary on CNN last night, take a listen to Cut7.
Well, I know her agents are going out of their minds. I mean, it's the first lesson 101 for celebrity. As you rise up, whether you're a film star, music star, or whatever. Shut your mouth and just entertain. Mr.
Wonderful, great to have you on this afternoon. Thank you for joining us. Appreciate it. We'll see if any good does come of this. Maybe the Tonga tribe will get a nice house with a swimming pool.
We'll see. Thank you. There you go. All right, hang tight, everybody. Got to take a break here.
901-260-5926. Our telephone number that's 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun totem, Bible-clinging, deplorable American. That's us!
That's us! Wow. I love this American Todd. Star. And hello, everybody.
Welcome to the Todd Stearns Radio Show. Great to have you with us today. And I want to say welcome to our brand new affiliate joining us this week from the beautiful Commonwealth of Virginia, WTON. That's in the Harrisonburg area and all parts beyond. And so, welcome to all of you fine folk there in the Commonwealth.
I want you to write down our telephone number. You will need this if you plan on calling in today: 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. So, by the way, Friday will be on the road to Nashville and honored to be able to speak at the Freedom Fest sponsored by Young America's Foundation. Michael Knowles will be there, and our good buddy, Congressman Tim Burchett, is going to be there as well.
And so, hope to see a lot of you folks there this coming weekend. In studio, though, fresh from hanging out with a bunch of good-looking Republican ladies here in West Tennessee, the mayor of Knox County, it's always fun to get the eastern side of the state over here, Mayor Jacobs. Good to see you, Glenn Jacobs. Hope you're doing well. Doing great.
Thanks for having me on, Todd. I really appreciate it. Yeah, so you're out in this part. I know you're doing a lot of campaigning for our good friend, Senator Marsha Blackburn, who is on track to be the next governor of our great state. How are the ladies out in West Tennessee today at the Republican event?
They're awesome. That's actually the second time that I've spent some time with them. Unfortunately, I was supposed to speak with them late last year, but just couldn't make it over here. Had to cancel. Today was really the rain date, if you will.
But it's awesome to see them. What just a great, wonderful bunch of folks. They're fun, and it's an exciting time, I think, to be a conservative in the country. And before we get into that, though, you've got to spill some dirt. Or as young people say, we need the tea on Tim Burchett.
He really does ride a skateboard. This guy, have you heard? He did.
Well, He told me a funny story once, you know. Tim is my predecessor as Knox County Mayor, right? And he builds his own skateboards. He makes them out of bamboo. And one day he's at the city county building, which is our city hall, and he's talking to somebody.
He's kind of pushing himself along on a skateboard. And someone says they're like, hey, you can't ride a skateboard in this building. And he's like, yeah, I'll talk to the mayor about it. It'll be fun. But yeah, Tim's an interesting guy.
He's a good friend of mine. But yeah, he does the skateboards. He makes him himself designs and the whole deal. He gave a. Oh, gosh, what's her name?
Tulsi Gabbard gave her an aluminum skateboard. She's a surfer, though. Right.
So it's, yeah, and he was really, he's really bothered because he wants to have this company, but with all the rules and regulations, he says he can make $30 million in stock trades, but he can't get a skateboarding cut. That's right. What's wrong on there? The interesting numbers coming out from Tennessee on the Beacon poll. Senator Blackburn is just crushing it.
Of course, you have Congressman John Rose running, who's a great guy. You have Monty Fritz, a state rep, another great guy. And I guess one of the nice things is we do have a strong Republican bench here, but this is Marshall Blackburn's race. Yeah, 100% all the way. The initial polls were very strong in her favor.
They've just gotten better. Yesterday, the fundraising numbers came out. Record-breaking. I mean, literally just a monstrous total that she was able to raise. 33,000 individual donors.
It broke the state's reporting system, actually. It was just so overwhelming.
So, yeah, Marsha's going to be the next governor. And Tennessee is already a state that the rest of the country looks to. I was in Missouri where I grew up a few months ago talking with them about our no-income tax here in Tennessee with their state legislators. What really struck me, though, is how all of the Republican legislators told me, maybe it's just because they know I'm from Tennessee, but they all told me we want to be more like Tennessee. Tennessee's got it going on.
And I think with Marsha Blackburn as governor, you will see Tennessee emerge as the undisputed conservative heavyweight champion of America and the state that the rest of the country looks to as the conservative power. I know Congressman John Rose, though, is saying that most of his donors are coming from actual Tennesseans, and Blackburn is getting more out-of-state money. How does the campaign respond to that? If you look at the breakdown, Marsha had 42 times the number of donors.
So you can say the percentage of in-state donors is higher, but the actual number, she still had 10 times as many people from Tennessee donate as Congressman Rose did. Congressman Rose did, yeah. He kind of spun the percentage and the actual numbers. It's a good spin. It was a good try.
But, you know, the reality: what do you think the big issue is going to be for a Marsha Blackburn in the governor's mansion? You know, it's so many times it's just the stuff that we deal with already. Infrastructure will be a huge issue. You know, we have all these people moving here from around the country. Tennessee is a great place to live.
So people from California, New York that are tired of Gavin Newsome or tired of things that are happening in their places are coming to Tennessee. That's stressing our infrastructure a lot, you know, keeping our economy going, all of those things. I don't think it's going to be anything, you know, new as far as like super big issues that suddenly emerge because we're in a great spot. It's figuring out how to do some of the things that we already do, but to do them even better and just to improve those things. And to that point, you know, we're dealing with an issue here in Tennessee, Nashville.
Many people still without power. I think they're learning the lesson of hiring based on DEI, electing radical far-left Democrats. And now you've got people that may not have power until February the 11th, they're saying, yeah. This is, I mean, what is the lesson? I know Senator Blackburn's been all over.
This and she's just really outraged, demanding answers and demanding this get fixed.
So much of this is due to local leadership, and you can see that in Memphis as well, you know, and the crime problem that has happened here. It's something that's really foreign to us in East Tennessee. And I look over here and I'm going, what in the world? Our sheriff would never allow this. Our DA would never allow these things to happen.
And the But it has. And Senator Blackburn was one of the folks that really encouraged President Trump and worked with Governor Lee in order to bring the National Guard in.
So she's proven herself to be a problem solver with those issues as well. But you're exactly right. You know, when we make decisions not based on merit, but based on how someone looks, that is the absolute wrong way to go. And it's a huge disservice to the people that those folks serve. And we're seeing that right now in Nashville.
And you look at what happened with the Trump administration coming in, sending in the federal, you know, the federal agents, the National Guard, and now crime, by some estimates, down by 70%. And of course, our Democrat mayor is taking credit for it. And I actually don't mind that because at least they acknowledge we got a problem. Guarantee what happened was they're out in public shaking their fists, should never do that, and behind closed doors, like, thank God. Oh, absolutely.
Absolutely. But, you know, again, it's just that local leadership and actually taking responsibility for the things that we are responsible for. And you can see it across the country. You're seeing it in Minneapolis. Right now, you may see it out in California.
The wonderful thing about Tennessee is, we do have some really great folks at the local level. We have a lot of great people in the General Assembly.
So, Senator Blackburn, when she's governor, will have a lot of folks to work with to correct some of these issues, too. No doubt about it. And we're just so honored to have Instagram Mayor Glenn Jacobs, Knox County Mayor in East Tennessee. You guys are doing something pretty amazing there, something called Operation Heroes Hill. I know you're smiling about this.
Tell us about the project. Operation Heroes Hill will create a community of 20 tiny homes for veterans who are having a tough time finding housing. This has been just the coolest thing I've worked on since I've been mayor. And the really amazing thing is our high school students are actually building the homes. Is that right?
Yeah, so we're combining workforce development, skilled trades, along with the dressling veterans' homelessness. The community in East Tennessee has been unbelievably supportive. You know, a lot of times when we're doing stuff, I have to go ask people, and please help us. This one. We literally, at this point, we're kind of have to tell people: you know, hold your horses.
We appreciate the help, but it's almost overwhelming. But that just tells you the kind of folks we have in East Tennessee. This is fantastic. And, you know, we just had Mike Ring on from Old Lory Bank, and they were talking about this big push, you know, for blue-collar workers and getting kids, you know, into trade schools. What was that experience like, you know, getting these kids and using those kids to build these homes?
Our schools will tell you it's probably the most exciting thing that they've been involved in with years because you have these kids. You know, my brother was like that. My brother's a mechanic, and he did not like sitting in a classroom. He did not like just working out of a textbook all day. He liked to work with his hands.
He liked to understand how what he was learning in the textbook applied to the real world. That's what these young people are getting experience at. We have industry mentors that are coming in, they're helping them. And now we have these high schools, they've already. Basically, finished one home and they want to move on to the next one.
Now I'm hearing what are we going to do next year?
So they're just really excited about it. And where's the money coming from, like donations, sponsors? It's so much of it has been from the builders, developers, the industry. Our contribution thus far has basically just been land, you know, and then. Also, just some of the ancillary expenses.
We've also, if folks are interested, if you go to operationheroeshill.com, we're raising about $1.2 million for a community center as well as some of the soft costs, such as furniture and those sort of things. And right now, I think we're about $700,000 we've raised for that. Wow, that is tremendous.
Well, we'll keep sharing that website address. And what a great thing that you guys are doing. We just had Daryl Worley on the show a couple of weeks ago. You know, he's doing something similar over in Enterprise Alabama, build a little tiny home community. And the really cool thing about this is: if you're a local elected official that's listening to this show someplace else, give us a shout.
We'll hand you the playbook because we're documenting everything. We would like to see this be done other places. All right, one more time: the website: it's operationheroeshill.com. All right, I love this. We will keep sharing this again: operationheroeshill.com, ladies and gentlemen, and you're going to be able to find out all about this program that goes from service.
To shelter, and there's all sorts of great intel there. Are you a big Super Bowl guy? You're going to be watching the book? I'm a college man. I live in Knoxville.
I'm a college football guy. I'm an SEC guy. I don't know if I'll watch the Super Bowl or not. I have to know what goes on so I can talk to people about it. Exactly.
My passion is University of Tennessee Volunteers. Go Valls. Let me tell you something. I've got my prize treasure downstairs. One of the caddies over at the Masters built me a putter that's a Tennessee orange putter.
And it's so awesome, which is difficult here in Memphis because, you know, it's Memphis Tiger territory. But, you know, you got to do it. And by the way, I'm friends with your coach Ryan Silverfield over here. Good guy. The former coach.
They took him away to what, Arkansas. That's right. That's right. He's about to experience what the SEC is really all about, I'm afraid. Do you know that Ryan actually dabbled a little in professional wrestling at one point?
I did not know that. Yeah, he did.
Well, speaking of that, the radio station I own here. Here in Memphis, KWAM, one of our former DJs, Jerry the King Lawler. Oh, wow. No way.
Now, would Jimmy Hart ever spend in records here? No, that would have been epic. He came barreling in one day, and the king did. And he was like, you know, I got fired for this place. And I'm like, I didn't do it.
I didn't do it, Jerry.
Now, Jerry, hey, Jerry's really helped me out early in my career. I spent a lot of time over in the studio at Channel 5 wrestling on Saturday mornings. Oh, my God. Goodness. Dave Brown and Lance Russell.
Lance Russell. Yeah, that's right. I remember as a kid, I mean, that's what we would watch, you know, Saturday wrestling. Yeah, I mean, you had Jackie Fargo and Tojo Yamoto, and of course, Lawler is that was good stuff. Oh, my goodness.
You know what? We should just do a whole show about wrestling and Memphis wrestling, especially. Yeah, yeah, that. You know, Memphis, um With the whole Lawler-Andy Kaufman feud, all of that stuff, just huge impact on the wrestling industry. Yeah.
Legendary. All right, Mr. Mayor, good to see you. Where are you heading from Memphis? Headed home, actually.
I'm going to get back to East Tennessee and knock on wood, no more snow for the rest of the winter. I always tell people they don't realize how big of a state we live in. That's exactly right. If you're in Bristol, you're closer to Canada than you are in Memphis. Yeah.
420 miles. You know, of course, you get over on our side of the state and you have a mountain every 100 feet. You get over here and it feels like there's not a hill for 100 miles. A little different. Fair enough.
Fair enough. I went to college in East Tennessee and I fell in love with it. You know, it's great, but this is home.
So, you know. Oh, West Tennessee, West Tennessee is a great place to be. And like I said, I've spent a lot of time over here. It's always been good to me. It's a great state.
It sure is. All right. Mr. Mayor, good to see you. Thank you, Don.
All right, folks, OperationHeroesHill.com. Go check that out. We'll post it up on the website as well. Hang tight. We'll be right back.
Yeah. All right, again, OperationHeroesHill.com is the website. And if you would like to get information on what they're doing in Knoxville, Tennessee, Knox County, Tennessee, to help homeless veterans and to get those folks into some good housing, and how exciting is that that young people are actually building those tiny homes? Dylan, I've never seen you rush in during a commercial break. Yeah, I'm like a little kid.
Like, I'm like. I know him mainly as the guy that beats up people on Monday nights. That's how I see him.
So it's really awesome. His hands are ginormous. Yeah, I shook his hand. He got every bit of my hand, and I may have gotten 25% of his. And how tall are you?
I'm 6'2. Yeah, you're 6'2 ⁇ . You look like you were 5'3 ⁇ . Yeah, he had to duck to get into the room. That is true.
Large individual. But great guy, though. Great guy. Great guy. And you know, when you were, I was sitting here listening to him and just going back in the 70s, which is long before you were thought of.
In the 70s and 80s, you know, Memphis wrestling was like. That was it. It's like the OG. It's what our legacy is a lot of times. That and music.
And I'm sure that there's, you know, I never got to go as a kid, but the wrestling in the Mid-South Coliseum. Which was, you know, and I'm sure we have a lot of Memphis listeners that will remember those days, but Andy Kaufman, you know, from Saturday Night Live and that whole feud, and nobody knew if it was real or not. You know, there was a documentary done. And Kaufman was such a brilliant mind. You didn't know if he was like slap crazy or if it was just all an act.
Yeah, that's what makes it so entertaining too. Because even as a kid, like, you know, 12, 13-year-old me, I was like, I cannot tell. Because even they'll have like the blood and stuff. You'll get hit by a chair. You're like, that looks like it really hurt.
So they made it look very real and entertaining. I'm going to go out on a limb. I think it would hurt to get hit on the head by a chair. I agree. I feel like some of those chairs are like, yeah, fake chairs.
But maybe they're maybe they're real. We'll see. I think they're real. They look real. You think wrestling's real?
I think wrestling's real. There's a real aspect to it. I mean, they're definitely getting knocked down, and they fly off the ropes and stuff like that. It's not, you know. You're not just fake hitting someone.
You are actually getting hurt sometimes. You know, here's what gets me though. He's the mayor of, you know, he actually replaced Tim Burchett, who was went on to Congress. And I can't imagine, you know, what you know, what would a heated city council or a county meeting look like there in Knoxville? No one's probably winning except for him.
Anyone getting thrown out the window at City Hall? They're like, Dad, got to call maintenance. It uses WWE finishing move. Yeah. I would love to see it.
That explains why every vote's unanimous. In Knox County. That could explain a lot. Oh, my word. All right.
Yeah. Any of you folks want to go down a wrestling memory lane, and especially you Memphis folks, because Memphis really was a quintessential part. I mean, it played such an historic role in professional wrestling back in the day. And then it went off to, you know, What it became, but geez, look. And Jerry the King Lawler was a huge commentator during the time that I watched it in the WWE.
So he was on every single weekend or Monday. Wow, is that right? Yeah, he was the commentator. I was on a flight with Jerry. I forget where we were.
We're in Atlanta because our flights are, we don't have a lot of direct flights.
So there's usually a puddle jumper that takes you from Atlanta to Memphis International. And so, anyway, I had gotten checked in, and sure enough, there he was. And uh he was just a regular guy, just a regular Joe. Hanging out. I'm like, Jerry, Paul Feinbaum was on that same flight by the what a weird that was a weird flight.
Anyway, gotta take a break. Senator Marsha Blackburn coming up. Your calls as well. 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show.
All right. Had a chance to chat with our good friend Mary Walter and also Kay Smythe. We'd call it the ladies' panel on my Newsmax TV show. We had a lot of fun last night covering a lot of topics, including the Melania Trump documentary. Let's take a listen.
Mary, you saw the movie. A couple of questions here. What's your takeaway? Did you order the milk dubs?
Well, you know, first of all, it was only in our theater for five days. Friday and then Wednesday it was out.
So Friday through Tuesday, that was it. The only time you could go see it.
So we had a whole group of people that wanted to go.
So Saturday, we're like, oh, we'll make plans for next weekend because it came open on Friday. We got online Saturday and we couldn't get a ticket. Everything was sold out. And then it wasn't in the theater after Tuesday.
So we couldn't even go next week with our friends.
So we wound up finding four seats on a Sunday night at a 6:30 showing because we didn't want to go to the nine o'clock. And the only thing available after we took those four seats was the front row in front of the handicap section. That was it. That's the only thing that was available.
So tickets were sparse. And the cynic and me would say that they were only showing it for five days because if they don't have a lot of showings, you drive down the box office receipts and you know it doesn't look so good if I were cynical.
So Kayla. Oh, you want to tell me about the movie? Where were we doing?
Well, yeah, hold on. Wait, do you want me to? We'll get back to that. I want to get Kate.
Okay. Yeah, hold on, Mary. We'll get back to you. Kate, why does the media, and especially the women's magazines, why do they hate Melania Trump so much? Because Melania is so representative of what happy young women want to aspire to.
Todd, we don't want to aspire to be, you know, the blue head, you know, tattooed from like here down, screaming at. You know, protests about things that we don't understand, blah, blah, blah, miserable, miserable, sad. I think there's a lot of women, and this is just from my experience working in media, I think there's a lot of women who Work for these like supposedly pro-women magazines. Who probably need a lot of therapy, they probably need a lot of unconditional love from other people as well as themselves. And I think that Melania is so.
Listen, I'm an immigrant, and I think she's such an inspiration to other legal immigrants in this country. Like, she came here for a modeling career, ends up marrying a man, you know, 30 years ago who goes on to become the president. She's literally living the American dream. She's doing it in style, she's doing it without pushing her ego and her agenda or anything really on any of us. And I think that there's this like very quiet, very subtle power to who she is and what she does that none of these women can really truly emulate.
And I think that breeds a huge amount of jealousy because you know, we all have to remember she was a freaking supermodel and she still looks like one. And she's really lovely. Kids love her. I don't know a single person that has ever said anything bad about her after meeting her. Like, we should all hate her, but we can't because she's so lovely and she's.
So good for the country. She's just one of those women.
So, you know, if you put that up against an insecure woman, they're gonna kind of melt. A little bit like the Wicked Witch of the West or whatever. All right, now back to Mary here.
So, what did you think about the did the critics get it right or wrong? No, of course they got it wrong. Of course they did. To me, what was so fascinating, and Kay can relate to this. I don't thank you so much, Todd.
I don't know what you do in your private time. But the heels, the heels that are like this high that this woman wears. All the time, and she walks in them constantly. I don't know whether she has like Barbie feet that are just molded that way all the time because my feet hurt at the end of that movie just watching her. She wears those things everywhere.
It's insane. What?
So here's the thing: the movie's good. I wouldn't say it was great, but it was good. It was so nice to actually, because we don't know anything about her. She's a mystery, right? She's she's so, she keeps herself so under the radar for good reason, but she is powerful.
She's everything Kay says, she's powerful, she's she's likable, she has a funny, she has a great sense of humor, and you got to see some interplay behind the scenes between her and her husband, which you don't really get to see. And it really humanized the both of them, which is why the critics hate it.
So I know that I think there's parts two and three to this as well that are going to be streamed. And I can't wait to see them because that will help. Because I really wanted to see more. I wanted more. And so hopefully we'll get to see those.
All right, ladies, I want to move on to the Super Bowl coming up this Sunday. We are, what, five days away? Bad Bunny, by the way, ladies, Mr. Bunny, the halftime performer, he's going to be singing in Spanish. And we understand, number one, he's going to be wearing a dress, maybe wearing heels, who knows?
He's going to be standing in solidarity with queer people. Meantime, you've got TPUSA, and they are streaming an alternative halftime show called the All-American Halftime Show.
Okay, which one you got to watch?
Well, I hope that I either am in labor or have a newborn baby when this whole thing is going on. I'm not trying to be like anti-football or anything, but that timing just kind of worked out for me this year. And if I had to, if neither of those things happen, guess what, guys? I'm going to be watching the turning point show. And listen, I'm all for this guy singing in Spanish, but...
I don't know a single gay person who's going to be watching the Super Bowl and like genuinely enjoying it. They might tune in for this halftime show, but most of them just don't care about this kind of stuff. I don't know why this pandering is still happening. I don't know why he's trying to wear a dress. That's not even like fashionable.
I mean, the heels, that's, yeah, no. I mean, if he wants to wear the heels, I'm sure he's going to take a tumble in them. And if he doesn't, I still think he's going to look like trash in them. Just really embarrassed. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Hold on, hold on a bit, Kate. I got to ask you this, though, Kate. Really? You're telling me gay people do not watch the Superbowl. What about the tight ends?
What about the the game itself for crying out? Listen, I'm just talking about my friendship group, but I don't know any gay men who watch this.
Okay, I don't know any lesbian, I don't know any lesbians who are into this stuff. There are now. Ha ha. Wow. Oh my God.
All right. Moving on before we get canceled here. Mary, Starbucks. Yes, dear. Starbucks making, you are not helping me, ladies.
Starbucks making headlines again. The coffee chain could be replacing baristas with robots or artificial intelligence to take orders at the drive-through. Mary, do you think this is going to help him get our name spelled correctly?
Well, I am not a Starbucks fan because I think the coffee tastes burned, and I'm not paying $8 for a cup of burned coffee and the principal of it all.
So I am not a fan. I'm also not a fan of robots. Like we have one in our local warehouse store, and you just hear it beeping, and every now and then you see it coming down the aisle to you because it's doing inventory. It is the creepiest thing ever. I hate.
Robots. If that's like the future, just I'm out now.
So, the fewer robots, the better. But if they're only at Starbucks, then I'm down with it because I don't care.
So. Yeah. You know, ladies, our local Mexican joint, they got a little robot waiter and came out to the table with a sombrero and did a fine job, got the order right. I asked for extra ice, and that robot was out the door. Like, kind of terrified, but I'm kind of terrified for the future right now.
Yeah, I'm with Mary. I'm not pro-robot, but unfortunately, I've also seen not so much where I live, but whenever I go into cities and I see how some of the Starbucks workers operate there, I think, you know what? I would prefer to deal with a robot. And welcome back, everybody. This is the Todd Stearns Radio Show.
We are broadcasting on 130 radio stations across this great nation.
Well, let's get right to our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and say hello to our good friend, the next governor of the state of Tennessee, Marcia Blackburn. Senator, hope you're doing well today. I am doing well, and we are voting, and we're going to push forward and have a vote. On Brian Lee, who will be our new district judge for the Western District of Tennessee.
So adding a good, solid constitutionalist. to that bench there in Memphis. And we are delighted to get his vote on the board, Todd. It's a good day. We've got good things happening there, fighting crime and making the community safer.
Senator, this is sort of like the Marshall Blackburn hour. We just had in studio Glenn Jacobs. He told me to tell you hello. And he said very nice things about you, by the way. But this has been a huge week for you.
Of course, the Beacon poll came out earlier, and just, I mean, you're destroying the competition and the governor's race on the GOP primary. Also, these fundraising numbers are just incredible, historic fundraising numbers. What do you make of it? What's going on here in the state of Tennessee? People in the state of Tennessee want to see good, solid, consistent, conservative.
government They have, we have been a well-led, well. managed estate. And what they want now is to say, let's be America's conservative leader. Let's pick up the face. and really focus on how we educate children, how we deliver health care, how we generate energy, how we deliver government services, how we reduce regulation and how we increase innovation with our universities and focus on the next generation.
So we've got that solid foundation, and people have shown up to help us, to support us. They are grateful for the work I've done in the U.S. Senate, and I continue to do every single day. And they are certainly Appreciative of the work we've done in Memphis. The governor in his State of the State address on Monday talked a good deal about what we have done for the West Park.
The state. And you know, it is such a source of encouragement. Tennesseans like to see. Conservative progress. And we are very given to our conservative values in the state, and I am honored to have the support of so many.
You know, one of the things, and I appreciate what you just said there, because one of the challenges in the southern states, we have so many people moving in from the blue states, and in many cases, they bring their politics with them. And you look at what's happening in Nashville right now, where DEI is on full display when it comes to those running the electric system there. Thousands of people still without power. And I know you've been very outspoken in your anger about how they're treating the citizens there in Middle Tennessee. And we tried to work and we tried to help.
We got the disaster declarations. And quickly, President Trump has signed that. FEMA has the maximum amount of resources in the state. And you've got the Tennessee National Guard and the Highway Patrol and local law enforcement and first responders and neighbors helping neighbors. We are the volunteer state.
But NES can't meet their one directive, which is to keep the power on. And here's the thing, Todd. They have four hundred seventy thousand customers. At the peak. there were about two hundred thirty five thousand that had no power.
That is a fifty percent. Fail right.
Now if your power system in such disrepair that you have no resiliency, you have no redundancy, and half of the people you serve in Nashville and the surrounding counties, half of them Have no power. And still on day 11. You've got about fifteen or twenty thousand that still have no power. You got a problem. And they have not wanted to admit that they have a problem.
And it is they did not prepare. They were focused on DEI. They did 102 DEI training sessions last year. And they Cut the tree trimming budget by seven million dollars because they were concerned about the canopy. And because of this, You have all these Limbs and trees that have taken down lines.
And my husband and I travel through a very shady area. Big, big trees on either side of the street. And this fall, as the leaves came off the trees. it seems like nearly every Sunday, we would say, you know what, that tree is going to fall if we have a storm this winter or spring, and it is going to take that lime out. And sure enough.
they ended up having to close this stretch that is very shaded by these big trees. They closed it for two days. Today. trying to clean up. All the debris.
And the limb. And the trees. and further inconvenience to people. It is just really sad and shameful. that there was no preparation made.
Senator, a couple of more questions. First of all, the Nashville scene, no friend of conservatives, they're demanding to know why Marsha Blackburn is hanging out with Nicki Minaj? Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Okay. You know, they just they just can't stand it. But let me tell you what I said. Nikki Minaj is a supporter of President Donald Trump, and she joined us as we announced the Trump account. For babies that are born between 2005 and 2008.
They're each going to get each one. will get a $1,000 I can't.
Now Nikki is going to put money into her fame club members. to their accounts, those babies accounts. And we've got a lot of employers that have said they're making a contribution and some that are going to make an annual contribution. into these accounts. noteworthy that Parents, grandparents, employers, people can put money in these accounts and Up to five thousand dollars a year.
for children. And then it has to stay in that account until they're eighteen years old. Then they could use that money for education. They can use it later to start a business, buy a house. But what a great way.
to have access to capital. To have financial education and to learn how to really build that nest egg that will help you all through life. Senator, one final question. I've got 60 seconds here. Should we nuke the filibuster and get the voter ID law passed?
We I think we're going to be able to do that without nuking the filibuster. We've talked about You know, the upside and the downside, and honestly, there's a nut 60 votes in our conference. And there are some of us that we want to move forward with President Trump's agenda. I know that Leader Soon and the White House and Speaker Johnson have put some effort into this. We want to be able to get the Save America Act, and those of us that comprise the steering committee Which is the conservatives in the Senate.
We've been working on this even today. All right, Senator. Wow, you got in under 60 seconds.
Well done. Senator, always great having you on the show. And we wish you the very best out there on the campaign trail. Thank you so much. Take care, buddy.
All right. Senator Marcia Blackburn. All right. We've got to call it a day. I told you it was a jam-backed last hour.
