Welcome to the Scott Jennings Show. NASA is forced to postpone its lunar mission. We have a live report on that in just a few minutes. Don Lemon cries to Jimmy Kimmel: Blue State policies are making life miserable and causing people to move away. Christy Noam sending body cameras to federal officers in Minneapolis, and new national polling paints a clear picture.
Democrats are completely out of step with the American people on illegal immigration. It is Tuesday, February 3rd. This is the Scott Jennings Show here on Salem, Common Sense for the American People, broadcasting live from Boston, Massachusetts today. I guess, Jared, we're Broadcasting from stolen land. Jared, you should have called Elizabeth Warren.
for permission to broadcast here from her reservation. What were you thinking? You didn't call. Pocahontas. After the show, By the way, Jared and I have to drive out to Dartmouth in New Hampshire for a debate tonight about the future of the Republican Party.
My sparring partner is Anna Navarro. Yes, that Anna Navarro. And we'll be back on the air on CNN tomorrow night in New York City. Let us get to the news. President Trump is meeting with President Gustavo Petro of Columbia today, a constant thorn in his side.
It's closed press, they say, but we'll keep an eye on this meeting. Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noam says body cameras have been sent to Minneapolis for use by federal officers. ICE and Border Patrol will now wear body cams. The president says that's a good idea. Here's Cut 10.
Christy Noam just announced that you're deploying body cameras to Minneapolis. What's your thinking behind this decision and do you want to see this?
Well, it wasn't my decision. I would have, you know, I leave it to her. Uh they generally tend to be good for law enforcement because people can't lie about what's happening.
So it's uh generally speaking I think eighty percent good for law enforcement. But uh if he wants to do that I'm okay with it. This news comes as national polling emerges on how Americans feel about the immigration debate. And it turns out that Democrats have badly misread the electorate. The latest Harvard-Harris survey is out, and two-thirds of Americans, fully 67%, say that, yes.
Yes, local police and jails. should hand illegal immigrants over to federal law enforcement. Of course, the Tim Walls and Jacob Fry position, along with a slew of other Blue State mayors and governors, is that they will not. cooperate, they will not hand illegal aliens over to the feds. Democrats, it seems, are badly out of step with the American people.
Next hour, we'll talk to a pollster Brent Buchanan of Signal, who has even more data, making it clear the Democrats do not speak for the American people when it comes to coddling illegal immigrants and attacking federal law enforcement. Speaking of Minneapolis, it continues to be a lawless place with random people setting up roadblocks in the streets, stopping citizens who are driving through and running their license plates against some sort of database to determine whether the vehicle belongs to ICE. Take a listen to this interaction at one of these roadblocks, Cut 11. Hey, how's it going? You said his license plates are ice?
Yeah, I was just saying it looks like in our system your plates came up as an ice plate. That doesn't seem like it's the case. I just wanted to come through and see what was up and talk to you, see how you were doing. Uh Uh okay, I figured, yeah. I mean he's clearly spoiling.
Yeah totally totally. Not clear to me whether anyone has been arrested in Minneapolis. for setting up these illegal roadblocks. But there is evidence that Democrats across the country are planning to replicate these paramilitary tactics of these Minneapolis radicals. Here's Maine Senate candidate Graham Plattner.
This is the Bernie Sanders supporter with the Nazi tattoo, cut two. And I will say to the people of Minneapolis, we in Maine are watching with awe and inspiration, like what the people of Minneapolis have been able to put together. The networks they have built, the organizational structure, the tactics and the strategies that they're using to resist. We in Maine are looking at them and using them as a blueprint because we're very convinced that we are seeing the beginning of the exact same kind of operation here. There you have it, folks.
Democrats around the country are planning to block your roads, check your license plates, and generally make your community miserable. All. All so they can keep illegal aliens in your town. Disgraced former CNN host Don Lemon predictably showed up on Jimmy Kimmel's show last night to cry about being arrested for illegally entering a church a couple of weekends ago. Lemon says the feds wanted to scare him and they made him uncomfortable when they arrested him.
Here's cut 12.
Well, you're right about more than just a waste of resources. They want that. They want to embarrass you. They want to intimidate you. They want to instill fear.
And so that's why they did it that way. Instill fear, you say, Don Lemon.
Well, here's a flashback to what Don Lemon said the day that he and his band of radical agitators invaded the Baptist Church in Minneapolis. Cut 13. You heard what some of the folks said in there, you know, that this is they shouldn't be there and you know, they shouldn't be uncomfortable and this is our house and whatever. That's what protesting is about, is to make people uncomfortable. You may not like it.
For Don Lemon. It seems to me what is good for the goose. is good for the gander. Up on Capitol Hill, Republicans in the House, led by Speaker Mike Johnson, have just broken the Democratic shutdown, voting 217 to 215 moments ago to fund the government, reopen the government. But But questions remain over DHS funding long term as Democrats continue to push for defunding federal immigration enforcement.
But for today, another win for Magic Mike Johnson and the House Republicans. Also in Washington, conservatives are pushing for the passage of the SAVE Act, which would, among other things, Require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before registering an individual to vote in a federal election.
Now, there is overwhelming support for ensuring that only citizens vote and for providing voter ID when they do. This morning on CNN, polling director Harry Enton called it this way: here's cut nine. Take a look here. Favorite photo ID to vote. 85% of white people favor it.
82% of Latino. 76% of black Americans favor it.
So the bottom line is this. Voter ID is not controversial in this country. A photo ID to vote is not controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party and it is not controversial by race. The vast majority of Americans agree with Nikki Minaj that in fact you should have a photo ID to be able to vote.
So something of a non- Fully 83% of the American people support. Photo ID before you can vote. And to reiterate, black voters, 76%, White voters, 85%, Latino voters. 82%.
Now Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic leader, calls all of this Jim Crow 2.0.
Now, when you hear them bring out that old chestnut of a talking point, You know, they really have nothing. But how can it be when Jim Crow 2.0. when black voters themselves Overwhelmingly support voter ID. Again, Black voters support showing ID 70. Six percent.
A white Democrat from New York City, it seems to me. is telling black voters They are too stupid to know what is best for them. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the Modern Democratic Party. in a nutshell. This is the Scott Chenning Show here on Salem.
We're broadcasting live from the Salem installation in Boston, Massachusetts, today, right near Boston Harbor. It is common sense for the American people. We do have more news on aches and pains. And we've gone right to the source here. Let me share a Story from a listener.
His name is Rod. He lives in Texas. He says, I am 64 years old, and I used to build houses on the side. Years of hard physical work left me with excruciating back pain that became unbearable. I finally gave Relief Factor a try.
and within four days most of the pain subsided, Over the next few weeks it continued to improve, and Rod said, and I quote, Being pain-free. is indescribable. We have seen improvements in the Jennings household. I spoke to my father last night. He made his winter sojourn to Florida.
After all that driving, he said his back was feeling good. No aches and pains. He's looking forward to an active winter of golfing and Doing the things he likes to do, and he's been religiously using Relief Factor. In fact, before he left on his trip. He said, Where is the relief factor?
I have to load it into the car. If pain is holding you back, You should try Relief Factor's three-week quick start and see how it goes for you. Call 1-800-4 RELIFE or go to ReliefFactor.com. Coming up, Jim Sturgis from the Pioneer Institute here in Boston will assail Blue State policies that are driving everyone crazy. Stay with us.
It's Scott Jennings here on Salem. Yeah. The man who made CNN safe for conservatives again. Dear Scott Jennings. It is Tuesday, February 3rd, live from Boston.
Two bits of breaking news to bring to you: the United States military and F-35, to be exact. Has shot down an Iranian drone as it approached the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea. Don't want to mess with those F-35s, I can tell you that. And we have a date the Clintons have agreed to be deposed. By the House Oversight Committee with Chairman Jamie Comer.
He's a dog with a bone, folks. They're going to do it February 26th and 27th. Hillary on day one and Bill on day two. We're going to look forward to tracking that. This is the Scott Chenning Show.
We are in Boston. I wanted to check in on how things are going here in the Bay State. a blue state. How are people living here in Massachusetts? On the line to talk a little bit about what's going on here is Jim Sturgis, the executive director of the Pioneer Institute.
Jim, welcome to the show. Glad to have you in. Pleasure to be with you and welcome to Boston. Thank you very much. Jim, I was looking at a chart.
The chart says domestic net migration by state, cumulative change, April 1st, 2020 to July 1st, 2025. and Massachusetts had lost one hundred and eighty two thousand one hundred and forty five. Of its population in that five-year period. What is going on in Massachusetts from your perspective? Why are people fleeing the Bay State?
Well, Scott, it's for about thirty years we had Blue Dog Democrats and Republicans working together to cut tax a couple of dozen times. We did a lot to shed that label of Taxachusetts. And since really twenty eighteen and especially twenty twenty two, We've done what California, New York, Illinois, and other blue states have done, which is to put in place either high earner taxes or wealth taxes, and they're still talking about it. I mean, California is thinking about another one. Rhode Island's kind of thinking about both a high earners tax and a wealth tax.
And it is driving people away. I mean, for 30 years, we were one of the top states in terms of economic growth. We're always ranked highly on competitiveness. We're just shedding people. They're making a choice.
I mean, people, states have made lots of Policy changes over the last Five, ten years. About twenty-five have cut taxes. We're one of the few that's increased. our taxes dramatically And people are leaving, young people, older people, people with companies, investors. And it's really I mean, we're one of the only four states in the country.
We've lost jobs, private sector jobs. The rest of the country has grown like crazy. I was looking on your website at the Pioneer Institute, which, by the way, PioneerInstitute.org, if you're interested out there, you had a study that said net outmigration of wealth. From Massachusetts nearly quintupled. From 2012 to 2021, money, wealth just flowing out of Massachusetts.
Why is that? And what have the consequences to the state been?
Well, you know, it's look, it's simple math. In real terms, the state budget has increased by about thirty percent in fifteen years. and people's household income has only grown thirteen percent. There are many people who say that Massachusetts is not investable because Of policies that the city of Boston advances, but also the cost of doing business here. Scott, I guess what I put in very simple terms, look, North Carolina is not that different from Massachusetts in terms of industry mix, the size of the state.
I mean, North Carolina's got the research triangle, it's got Charlotte's got finance, it's got health care, it's got professional, scientific, technical businesses and jobs just like we do. They have grown their job base in the past five years by 255,000 jobs. we've lost twenty five thousand jobs. I mean, it's just there's no real opportunity here because people are not investing because the policies are not welcoming. Jim, I've got about 30 seconds.
I did want to ask you a question about one Democrat who is in office here. I saw a story the other day about the state auditor, Diana DiZoglio. She looked at me like she was trying to do something right, and she was fighting with some of these old school Democrats in the legislature. Auditor DiZoglio, someone that I know you're a conservative think tank, but do you think she's on the right track when it comes to auditing and ferreting out waste, fraud and abuse in Massachusetts state government? Absolutely.
Look, if you look at polls ten years ago, people in Massachusetts were still thinking that they could trust the state government with their dollars. If you look at any of the polling now with the state government thinking, no way, we're not going to allow ourselves to get audited, she really put her thumb on an issue.
Now about seventy five percent of the people don't trust their government with their money.
So she's definitely onto something. That voice you're hearing, Jim Sturgis, a Member of the Pioneer Institute here in Boston, Massachusetts. Jim, thanks for chatting with us today. We look forward to having you back. We're going to take a break when we come back.

Where did it go? It's Tuesday, February 3rd here on the Scott Jennings Show. We have breaking news, by the way. NASA said early this morning that it is delaying its mission to send four astronauts. On a journey around the moon, after issues arose during a critical test of this enormous rocket, Bethany Stevens from NASA joins us live from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral shortly to discuss.
First, I need to give you a quick word about America's 250th anniversary from our friends at Americans for Prosperity. They want to talk about an idea that's worth revisiting, and that is the pursuit of happiness. Our founders envisioned the freedom to work hard, raise a family, and worship freely. Here's what they did not mean. big government programs and handouts, Our friends at Americans for Prosperity believe the pursuit of the American dream is a core part of what makes this country exceptional.

Go to A250Toolkit.com, learn more, share your own story, because the American Dream isn't a big government program.
It is our pursuit of happiness. It's Scott Jennings on Salem and joining us live to discuss this NASA rocket launch that has been delayed, but not. Permanently is the press secretary and official spokeswoman for NASA. Her name is Bethany Stevens, and she is at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral. Bethany, we're honored to have you on the show.
Welcome in. Thank you so much for having me, Scott. Of course. Thank you. I want to first just ask you about the news.
What happened this morning that is causing the Artemis rocket flight delay? Absolutely. Yesterday morning, we undertook the wet dress rehearsal, which is a fueling test of our Space Launch System rocket, the SLS, that's out at Launch Pad 39B here at Kennedy Space Center. We do these tests prior to any launches to ensure that our vehicles are ready to safely transport crew into space. And throughout that test, we encountered a couple of challenges, which is precisely why we conduct these tests so that we can find them and address them prior to the actual launch day.
As a result of that, we're going to take this rocket back in and we are going to address these issues. Um and we are going to take the rocket back out to the pad and then Person lunch. And it says here that you have future available launch opportunities from March 6th through March 9th. You could do it on March 11th, and you also have additional dates in April. Is it your anticipation that you'll try again on March the 6th?
We're looking at March right now. We have not solidified a specific date there, but we are optimistic that the March window will be a go. All right, that's Bethany Stevens with NASA talking to us about the Artemis launch. It has been delayed. We're looking at dates in March and April.
Bethany, when this rocket leaves Earth, tell me what are you hoping to accomplish with the mission? It doesn't land on the moon, it goes around the moon. But what is the purpose of this moon, this lunar mission? Absolutely. So this is potentially the farthest Americans or anyone will have gone from Earth ever.
So it's historic in that regard. But this is the first step in terms of crewed missions as a part of the Artemis campaign. that will help us to eventually get American boots back on the lunar surface, but also to establish a lunar presence.
So that means per the President's national space policy that we're going to establish a lunar base and continue using what we learned from that to go onwards to Mars and even further than ever before.
So, this will be the furthest away from Earth that human beings have ever been. That's a cool fact. And we haven't been to the moon in over 53 years. The president, of course, would like to establish a moon base, as you pointed out. When you look at the old missions, the old NASA missions to the moon and all the work that was done over the decades, how helpful!
Is looking at that old tape, the old data, the old missions. How helpful is all that in guiding how you plan out this lunar launch and the idea of going back to the moon here in the next few years? It's very helpful. You'll see that on Apollo eight, the last time that we went around the moon, that it followed a very similar flight path to what we're looking at for Artemis II.
So we're definitely able to gain insights from those previous missions. But you'll also note that the NASA administrator, Jared Isaacman, has said that it's sad that we ever lost sight of the moon to begin with.
So as you mentioned, the President has indicated his desire to go back to the moon. Actually, under his first administration, he established the Artemis program so that we could get Americans back on the lunar surface. And now we're one step closer to that with Artemis II and then on to Artemis III.
So we haven't been to the moon in 53 years. Is it the administrator and the president's anticipation? That American astronauts will step foot on the moon before Donald Trump leaves office. Absolutely. Before 2028, and we're working on that diligently even throughout Artemis II preparations.
We're working on the human landing system, which is what's going to enable us to put those American boots back on the moon. We're working on the spacesuits, which you've all seen the iconic shot of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and all of the other people who have walked on the surface of the moon. We're looking to do that again, and we're looking to do it before the President leaves office. That voice you're hearing is Bethany Stevens. She is the press secretary and official spokeswoman for NASA.
You can follow her, by the way, on X at NASA Spokes, S-P-O-X, at NASA Spokes.
So, you mentioned a moment ago that the President and Administrator Isaacman of NASA have a national space policy. Tell us about the holistic goals of the national space policy. I know we want to go to the moon, but overall, what are we trying to accomplish in space? How will it benefit the American people? Absolutely.
It's no secret that we have a huge geopolitical rival in China. It's also no secret that China is making huge progress on their own lunar missions. The Chinese National Space Agency, CNSA, has indicated that they aim to get to the moon before 2030. As we just spoke about, we are hoping to get back to the moon before 2028 is over. That said, we're in the midst of a second space race here.
The first one was with the Soviet Union. back during the Cold War era. And now today, we are hoping to get back because there is a national security interest in space and establishing the ultimate high ground. The President is hoping to establish through this national space policy, which is actually an executive order about establishing space superiority, making sure that we are projecting American dominance in the ultimate high ground.
So that will include life-changing science. and crewed missions and all kinds of things, including a nuclear reactor on the moon and including establishing a lunar base where we can continually send American astronauts up to the moon and hopefully establish a persistent lunar presence. Do you anticipate that a lunar base would be fully a military base? Or do you think it would be part military, part commercial, part civilian? What is the vision of that?
This specific lunar base will be entirely civilian. Actually, under President Trump, we established the Artemis Accords. We now have over 60 nations that are partners with us in that endeavor to keep space exploration peaceful and transparent.
So the lunar base that we're talking about over here at NASA will be entirely civilian.
However, it is worth noting that CNSA, the Chinese National Space Agency, is both civil and military space.
So they potentially are going with militaristic endeavors. And this Artemis rocket, I want to ask you about the nature of the rocket. Is it who built it? This is not a SpaceX rocket, but I know NASA is working with companies like SpaceX on its endeavors. Kind of talk to us about.
This specific rocket that we're using this year, how you partner with SpaceX, and how sort of it all works together, government with private companies, as we look to the future of space. Absolutely. NASA has a huge coalition of commercial partnerships. The specific rocket that we're using for this mission and for Artemis III is the SLS, which is the Space Launch System. That is built by Boeing in conjunction with other commercial partners.
And then the actual spacecraft that the crew will be inside, the Orion spacecraft, is built by Lockheed Martin. There are other components of the mission. You mentioned SpaceX, who's building us a human landing system for Artemis III. Blue Origin is also building a human landing system for a later Artemis mission.
So there's so many people that are involved in this. Axiom is building the spacesuits. And there are many more that are helping us to meet these critical goals.
Now, ultimately, when you send astronauts back to the moon, which you hope to do before Trump leaves office. How do you choose them? I mean, there's obviously people in the astronaut program, but for the Americans who are going to set foot on the moon for the first time in over 50 years, How does the administrator, how does the program go about choosing those special people who are going to that'll be one of the biggest events of Donald Trump's entire administration. It'll be one of the biggest events in decades for the world. How do you pick those people?
Absolutely. It's very exciting. We pick these people based on merit alone. We have an incredibly accomplished astronaut corps. They're all based out of Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
And we have many people who are ex-military. We have accomplished medical professionals. We have people who have experience that's derived from all different sectors. And that leads us to an incredibly talented astronaut pool to choose from. We have yet to establish or choose the Artemis III astronauts, but there's not really a way that you can go wrong when we have as much talent as we do here at NASA.
So it's definitely a big decision, and I'm excited to see who the agency ends up choosing. That's a decision that'll be made between the astronaut office out of Houston and the chief astronaut, along with the administrator and leadership at NASA, as well as obviously the White House and the President. That voice you're hearing, Bethany Stevens. She is the official spokesperson for NASA. She comes to us live today from Cape Canaveral at the Kennedy Space Center.
The news of the day is that NASA completed a dress rehearsal for the Artemis II mission in the early morning hours on February 3rd. And because of some issues in that dress rehearsal, the launch has been postponed, but there are dates in March and April for this mission, which will fly a rocket around the moon and ultimately send humans as far away from Earth as they have ever been. Bethany, thank you so much for joining us on the Scott Jennings Show. We're going to take a break, and when we come back, a little bit of immigration news. You don't want to miss it.
First, I have some information. About debt. Debt, if you're stressed about debt because you're in it. I have something you need to know. According to the Federal Reserve's latest survey, many banks are tightening their standards.
That means right now might be your best window to negotiate settlements. before lenders tighten up even further. And this organization called Done with Debt is one of the best I've ever seen at navigating debt relief, especially in a complicated regulatory environment. Last year, they enrolled over $102 million in debt for our listeners and others. Done with debt.
They are experienced at knowing how to do it. To negotiate and when they will get you the biggest reduction possible. Done with debt helps you through the debt relief process so that you keep more of your paycheck every month. Imagine. Waking up.
Without that weight on your shoulders, and doing it without taking out another loan. Or having to file for bankruptcy. That would be a relief, would it not? Do not wait for the lenders to tighten up their policies. That's the danger to you.
You gotta move fast. And to do it, go to donewithdebt.com and talk to a debt specialist. It's free. Takes just a few minutes. Visit donewithdebt.com.

The accommodations luxury, the food decadent, the conversation stimulating. You won't want to miss the Gulf of America Cruise with me in November. Again, text the word cruise to 94878. I want to close out the hour, by the way, talking to you about. Propaganda.
The fight over immigration In the United States, has as much as anything devolved into an information war. And coming up next hour, by the way, my friend Brent Buchanan from Signal Polling has some insightful new polling numbers on the American electorate. I think Democrats, by the way, are going to find they are way out over their skis when it comes to this coddling of illegal immigration and this demand to defund ICE, but we'll talk about that in a few minutes. This propaganda war, though, has manifested itself in story after story. It's told to you to confuse you, to lie to you, to Cause you to believe things that just aren't true.
The five-year-old kid in Minneapolis, remember that? The details that you got initially. That's not what happened at all. Rene, good. Remember what you were told initially?
Random passerby accidentally caught up in traffic? That's not what happened. Remember that you were told Ice rated a daycare? Didn't happen. They were chasing someone who ran into a daycare.
Here's a new one today out of Los Angeles that I thought I would share. KTLA television in Los Angeles reported the news this way. A San Fernando Valley community is outraged and devastated after federal immigration agents force their way. Onto the grounds of a church during a food giveaway and arrested a man who church officials say helps with children's ministries.
Now reading that You might think, uh, I don't like that. But that's not what happened. Here's the real story. Straight from the border patrol, they weren't targeting a church, they were targeting an illegal alien named Carlos Chavez Guzman. A Mexican illegal alien, I guess I can say that.
They're telling me I can't say that in some venues. I'm going to say it. Illegal alien. He was deported from the United States in 2016. He illegally reentered the country.
A felony. Agents, Border Patrol agents, approached this man. Legitimate thing to do. And of course, he ran away, causing a foot chase. He was tracked down and arrested by agents.
Lots of crimes here. Entering in the first place, illegal. Re-entering, felony, running from cops, felony. But the propaganda from KTLA. makes you think that the Border Patrol was raiding Against their will Some church.
We are fully committed to telling you the truth on this show, but understand much of what you're being told about what's happening with immigration. Is propaganda. They want you emotional and they want you stupid. And I want you to have the facts and I want you to have clear eyes. That's what you get.
More coming up in the next hour. It's common sense for the American people. We're on Salem. I'm Scott Jennings. Stay with us.
The voice of free speech. The truth delivered. Common sense for the American people. Welcome to the Scott Ginning Show. It is Tuesday, February 3rd.
We're broadcasting live from Salem in Boston, Massachusetts. This is the Scott Jennings Show. Common sense for the American people. At the bottom of the hour, 33 minutes past. Brand new polling, hot off the presses.
Brett Buchanan from Signal Polling. Is here, and I'm just going to preview it for you. Democrats are way, way, way out over their skis, way off message when it comes to dealing with the illegal immigration crisis in America. You don't want to miss this conversation. We do have some breaking news.
House Republicans have ended the short, partial Democrat shutdown, voting 217 to 215 to fund the government just a few moments ago. Magic Mike Johnson delivers again. NASA has scrubbed its Artemis II space launch today. During a dress rehearsal overnight, some hydrogen was leaking, so back to the garage for a couple of weeks. They'll try again in March or April.
The administration remains committed to putting a man on the moon before Trump leaves office. President Trump is touting talks with Iran this Friday, dispatching his envoy Steve Witcoff and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to meet with the regime. Yeah. The New York Times says the Iranian regime is willing. to do away, perhaps, with its nuclear program, although I thought we did away with it.
for them last summer. Iran is demanding changes to the venue and format for these negotiations. We'll see if the talks actually proceed. And today, there has been a military skirmish. The United States shot down an Iranian drone that had approached the USS Abraham Lincoln.
White House press secretary Caroline Levitt confirming the details. Here is Caroline. Today I did speak with folks over at the Pentagon this morning who said that CEDCOM acted both appropriately and necessarily to protect our U.S. personnel and equipment in the region.
So CEDCOM did make the decision to shoot down that Iranian drone. It was unmanned. It was acting aggressively towards our USS Lincoln, which we know that aircraft carrier is in the region at the direction of President Trump. As for the president, he remains committed to always pursuing diplomacy first. But in order for diplomacy to work, of course, it takes two to tango.
You need a willing partner to engage. And so that's something the president and special envoy Witkoff are exploring and discussing right now. Special Envoy Witkoff is set to have conversations with the Iranians later this week. Those are still scheduled as of right now. But of course, the president has always a range of options on the table, and that includes the use of military force.
The Iranians know that. better than anyone. Just look no further than the highly successful Operation Midnight Hammer, which took not just Iran, but the entire world by surprise and completely obliterated their nuclear capabilities earlier last year. With me to discuss all of this is Benham Ben Taleblue, the Iran Program Senior Director and Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Benham, welcome into the Scott Jennings show.
I'd like to get your reaction to all of this, the possible talks, the shooting down of the drone, what you heard Caroline Levitt say. Where do we stand with Iran right now, in your opinion?
Well, it's a pleasure to be with you, Scott. Listen, we're either on the precipice of a bad deal or a military conflict. But to what end is a million-dollar question. And I think President Trump has everybody right where he wants them, with both allies and adversaries alike trying to guess and figure out and hedge. as it comes to his next move.
In 2025, for example, we saw President Trump literally go through every option on the table as it comes to Iran. The reason now we're talking about the Islamic Republic in 2026, however, is that there was massive nationwide protests and the Islamic Republic brutally, brutally repressed those protests. And the president, not talking about nuclear, not talking about missile, not talking about terrorism, not talking about maritime, drew not one, but multiple red lines in the sand there. And said that if the regime continued to crack down, that he would hold those who cracked down responsible, that the U.S. was locked and loaded, and that more recently, help was on its way.
Now, in my view, there is no nuclear deal off-ramp that the U.S. special envoy or the president's son-in-law at this point in time can negotiate with a regime like the Islamic Republic, lest we forget this is a regime that has a bounty on the president's head, has a fatwa against him, against his property, and even against the female members of his family. Always important to remember that here. And then, moving forward, of course, we can't forget that, you know. Donald Trump really broke the taboo, slaughtered the sacred cow that used to govern Washington, D.C.
for decades that said you can't even provide political or moral support for protesters. He showed that that was absolutely possible in term one.
Now in term two, when the regime is trying to call his bluff to see if he would do more than provide moral or political support for protesters, you have the Abraham Lincoln in the region. And the Iranians right now are trying to buzz or have tried to buzz that with a Shahid 139 drone. It's a modified drone. It's an unmanned combat aerial vehicle. It can do surveillance and reconnaissance, but more importantly, it can carry guided munitions.
And I think it was precisely prudent for the USS Abraham Lincoln to launch that F-35 and take out that drone so that there's a strong signal of resolve.
So whatever direction the president goes in, that he can take the best hand with him. In your opinion, how close is the Iranian regime? To falling? And can it fall without a push from the United States? Or do you believe that only military intervention?
will ultimately lead to regime change in Tehran. You know, this is a regime that is weak. but it is still very lethal, and that's what we have to remember. This is a regime that is willing and unfortunately just proved that is shooting its way out of the crisis under the cover of an internet blackout. 36 to 43,000 Iranians have been killed in a record matter of days, shattering both records for killings and executions inside the Islamic Republic in contemporary Iranian history, and even comparable to some grotesque 20th century massacres in recorded history.
In that case, an unarmed pro-American, pro-Western population in the heartland of the Muslim Middle East. needs support. It is highly unlikely that this unarmed population is going to be able to overcome and overwhelm the regime and its layered security forces. And here I believe, as Henry Kissinger used to say many years ago, and as it's ascribed to him, that foreign policy is not missionary work. There's a huge difference between foreign imposed regime change, which is something that Uncle Sam unfortunately has done in this region and hasn't had great successes with, versus foreign supported regime change.
If we could flip the script on the Ayatollah's, I think that would be a huge strategic and political win for the president, not just a moral one. We have about a minute to go. I'm just going to ask you point blank. The President has broad peace plans for the Middle East, and he has done more than virtually any other President in my lifetime to get there. But in order to achieve his full vision, Does he need Iran to fall?
Does he need to get rid of the Ayatollah? Or can he still achieve peace if somehow this regime survives? I think at best the president would be holding his vision for peace together and, more importantly, prosperity together with spit and gum and glue, and it would not out and it would not. Have a political legacy beyond his administration. There is no way out, but through here, Uncle Sam needs to help flip the script to empower the street in Iran, which is pro-American and pro-Israeli, against the state, which is the most anti-American and the most anti-Israeli in that part of the world.
The path to peace, the path to prosperity, the path to stability only can happen when you take out Tehran's theocrats. Those American partners in the region which are currently hedging, which believe that stasis equal stability, needs to only look to the past 47 years to realize that by locking in the Islamic Republic, they had only guaranteed further instability. That voice you're hearing, Benham Ben Taliblu, the Iran Program Senior Director and Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Find him on the X platform at TheReal Benham BT. Benham, thanks for joining us.
We'll check back in with you. The facts are. Protesters are being slaughtered. The Iranian regime continues to chant death to America. They are sending drones to buzz the USS Abraham Lincoln.
And we're planning to talk. I'm not holding my breath if they'll have anything useful to say, but we'll check with you. As developments warrant. This is the Scott Jennings show here on Salem. Common sense for the American people.
I have some common sense for you from a man named Keith in Washington. As you know, we've been canvassing the customers, satisfied customers of Relief Factor, and Common Sense Keith tells us this. That he was an extremely active guy, former college athlete, martial arts instructor, teaching multiple classes a day. But over time, his body was wearing down. and he tried relief factor, and all of a sudden All of a sudden his knee pain nearly disappeared, his neck pain dropped significantly, He was able to keep training and he even earned his black belt.
Again. Letter after letter. after anecdote, after story comes in, and they all say the same thing. I had pain. I tried Relief Factor and it worked for me.
That's my recommendation to you. Try their three-week quick start plan. Call 1-800-4 RELIEF. Or visit relief factor.com. Let's see.
If we can work together to get you out of pain, stay with us. This is Scott Jennings on Salem. More after this. News, comment, and the stories and facts the mainstream media refuses to discuss. It's the Scotch Ening Show.
It is Tuesday, February 3rd. Scott Jennings broadcasting live from Boston, Massachusetts, today after the show, driving out to Dartmouth, having a big debate against Anna Navarro on campus tonight, debating the future of the Republican Party out there. We look forward to that drive. Jared, we're going to. Drive to the countryside.
We'll see the sights, see the snow. I do want to talk to you, by the way, about some politics this segment. A Senate race is going on in Texas.
Someone is challenging. The smartest person in national Democratic politics. You know who that is: Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett. She's their highest IQ Democrat. But the same political ecosystem that gave us Beto O'Rourke and then Pete Buttigig has now rolled out version 3.0.
Of this kind of candidate. His name. is James Tallerico. Tallerico is different. But not in a good way.
He is not your. Garden variety, radical progressive. He actually tries to put a religious spin. on his radical liberal progressive politics. He is not just coming to take your guns, to trans your kids, and to reorder American society from top to bottom.
He is going to do it while telling you that God is totally cool with it. That's the pitch, anyway. And I'm sorry, but that's not bold, it's not brave, and it's not compassionate. In fact, I think It's deeply sick stuff. Don't take my word for it though.
Let's hear it straight from his mouth. Let's play Tallarico Cut Four. The first two lines of the Bible. The first two lines in Genesis. use two different Hebrew words to describe God.
One is the masculine Hebrew noun for divinity. The second is the feminine Hebrew noun For spirit. God is both masculine. And feminine. and everything in between.
God. is non-binary. God is non-binary, Tellaricos says. I. Don't think you need to be a master theologian or have gone to seminary or even cracked open a Bible lately to understand how Off base, this man is.
But here's the thing: he, nor does the progressive left, actually care because they'll clap for this. They'll nod along, they'll celebrate. this use of religion to justify Mutilation of children They use religion as a tool to advance their ideology. Faith isn't sacred to them, it is instrumental, and it doesn't stop with twisting theology to justify radical social policy. It also shows up in the way Tallarico talks about other Christians.
Christians who simply don't share his politics. Remember, he serves in the Texas State House alongside people who are, in fact, openly Christian. Listen to how he talks about them. Here's cut three. And that applies to Muslims and Hindus.
Listen, I have, this is, you know, they can learn a lot. I have Jesus. I have met so many Hindus. Buddhist Sikh Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, who are more Christ-like? Than some of the Christians I serve within the Texas legislature.
Now look. No offense to anyone who isn't a practicing Christian. You are a free American. You're entitled to your beliefs. But I gotta say.
To be Christ-like, it usually helps to be a Christian. It's right there in the name, after all. And it is especially wild for Tallarico to argue that an atheist, Someone who explicitly rejects the existence of God and the divinity of Christ. Is somehow more Christ-like than people who actually believe in Christ. That's not theology, that's political gaslighting.
Nothing matters to the left. Except gaslighting you into accepting Their agenda. Truth doesn't matter, consistency doesn't matter, faith doesn't matter, and now he's justifying abortion. with his biblical claims. Here's cut number five.
But I say all this in terms of context of abortion because Before God comes over Mary. And we have the incarnation. God asks for Mary's consent. Which is remarkable. I mean, go back and read this in Luke.
I mean The angel comes down and asks Mary if this is something she wants to do. And she says, If it is God's will, let it be done. Let it be. Let it happen.
So to me, that is an affirmation in one of our most central stories that creation has to be done with consent. You cannot force someone to create. Creation is one of the most sacred acts that we engage in as human beings. But that has to be done with consent, it has to be done with freedom. And to me, that is absolutely consistent with the ministry and life and death of Jesus.
And so that's how I come down on that side of the issue. James Tallarico says that an angel came and offered Mary an abortion. That's his view. To support his idea that the Bible is pro-choice, this man is a phony. A liar and a total joke.
When we come back, new polling on immigration, don't miss it. It's Scott Jennings here on Salem. Hey, it's Scott, and I'm so excited to welcome CrowdHealth as a new partner to the Scott Jennings Show. For several years, I'm hearing more people voicing frustration with traditional health insurance. Bad incentives baked into Obamacare have sent costs soaring.
The rules are a maze of jargon and people feel stuck. That's why I want to tell you about my new partner, CrowdHealth. CrowdHealth isn't insurance. It's a community that cuts out the middleman to help one another fund medical expenses, giving you more freedom, fewer surprises and greater control over your health care choices. And when it comes to cost, members are spending hundreds less per month compared to traditional insurance.
Right now, you can get started for just ninety nine dollars per month for your first three months when you use the code Scott. Go to joincrowdhealth.com. That's joincrowdhealth.com and use code SCOT. Again, join crowdhealth.com, code Scott. Quick reminder, crowdhealth is not insurance.
You can opt out, take your power back, and that is how we win. Welcome back to the Scott Chenning Show. Tuesday, February 3rd, tracking all the breaking news today. Of course, a lot of it revolving around immigration. And I've been wondering, what do actual voters think about all of this back and forth on Minnesota, the idea of enforcing our national immigration laws?
And fortunately, I know someone who can tell us the answer. My friend and nationally renowned Republican pollster, Brent Buchanan, is here from the Signal, that's C-Y-G-N-A-L polling group. Joins the show. Brent, you all over at Signal published some eye-popping polling data yesterday, and I was perusing this, and the only thing I can say is that. Democrats are absolutely out over their skis.
When it comes to their political positioning on immigration, Brent, welcome back to the show. Let's talk about this poll. Man, they live in a bubble. If you watch the news and you poll people who are delivering the news to us, quote news. You would have a drastically different view than what Americans actually believe.
That's why we did this poll last week, because I knew there was a gap. I didn't realize there was a chasm. between the two. And even just starting with the principle of what does illegal mean? You know, we had to have this discussion of what is a man and what is a woman.
The Democrats still haven't figured that one out. They also don't know what the word illegal means.
So 73% of voters say that if you came here without permission, you broke the law. That is the definition of illegal. But the reason it's so low is because. 45% of Democrats disagree with that statement. And of those, the remainder who do agree, it's very soft.
So, like, they're super tepid in their understanding of what the word illegal even means.
So, if we can't agree on that, How do we agree on deportation rice and any of these other issues?
Well, it's a good question, and I have sat on a many a CNN panel over the last several months. And I have been chastised and condescended to about this. I've been told by news anchors that it's not actually illegal to enter our country illegally. I was told by some twerp the other night I'm not allowed to use the phrase illegal aliens anymore. Even though that phrase does appear in U.S.
law. But for the record, it is a crime. to come into the country illegally. It's also a crime to come in, be deported and come back in. It's also a crime to run away when you're trying to be apprehended by ICE.
We've seen that happening.
So according to your polling, though, Despite all the propaganda about, oh, it's not really a crime, you're saying, Brent, the American people know full well that it is a crime. Unless you're a Democrat, yes. Of course, unless you're a Democrat. All right.
So, the first question, very clear. Three-quarters of the American people say, yes, it is a crime to enter the country illegally. Let's talk about the severity of the problem. Another thing that we often hear is that, oh, well, you know, why are we going after these illegal aliens? Is this really an issue?
And then they make up anecdotes or fantasy stories about bakers who've been in the country for 47 years and they're just baking their muffins and they're not bothering anyone. What do the American people have to say, according to your polling? about the severity of the problem of illegal immigration.
Well, let's start with Democrats because they're in this parallel universe. And it reminds me of this great movie, Monty Python. where the knight is bleeding out, has no legs, and says, 'Tis a mere flesh wound. And that's essentially where Democrats are right now. 61% say it is not a serious problem, or not even a problem at all.
Two-thirds of Democrats. You go look at voters overall, and it's two-thirds say it is a somewhat or very serious problem. It's even stronger among swing voters. You go look at the demographics who matter and make decisions and who wins elections. They all strongly agree that this is a real problem.
It's just on the other side of the ledger. The Democrats think it's tis mere a fleshwound. I guess it stands to reason, though, that if you're a Democrat who doesn't believe that it is illegal to enter the country anyway, then you wouldn't think illegal immigration was a problem because you don't actually believe that immigration is illegal.
So I guess it stands to reason. But on this note, As an issue for electoral matters, you've got a political party that says, no, no, this isn't a problem. But you've got two-thirds of the American people that say yes. Illegal immigration is a severe national problem. All right.
So, if you've got two-thirds of the American people who say it's a problem, you've got three-quarters of the American people who acknowledge that people are breaking the law when they come into the country illegally. Let's talk about what your polling found. What should we do about it? People's opinions of actual deportation. What do people think about deporting those who are here illegally?
Brent Buchanan of Signal. A lot of times you see this question where it says deport those criminals who are here illegally. And I think that of course is going to perform well because who's going to say keep criminals here except I bet there are many Democrats who would say that.
So we wrote the question a bit more basic and said, do you support or depose those illegally here in the U.S. back to their country of origin? 61% support. And then Democrats and their alternate reality, 67% in opposition. And I begin to wonder as I look at all of this, because the rule of law is common sense.
And you know, these are the same people who are telling us to trust the science during COVID, yet they're completely ignoring the rule of law. And I really wonder how much of this is just the fact that Donald Trump thinks it's illegal if you cross the border, which is common sense, and Donald Trump thinks that people need to go back. Who came here illegally, and therefore they have to oppose it. It's like morally within their code that they cannot agree with Donald Trump on anything. And let's set some facts about your polling sample here.
You polled over 1,000 Americans, and these are all likely midterm voters, correct? Correct. And we even set the frame because when you're doing polling, you've got to look at what is turnout going to be. And that is not just a number, it is how it is gender breakdown, how does age breakdown, education, you know, college education versus not college education, partisanship. There's a lot of factors that go into how we're looking at this.
And our team has just decided that we're at least this far out from the election. Going to take a conservative approach to what we think the turnout's going to be, and that it's going to look a little bit more like 2018 than it did in 2022. You know, I'm beginning to believe with issues like this that we're going to see a midterm that looks more like 22.
So you can almost take this as a worst-case scenario poll. That the numbers are likely better than this if Republicans are able to capitalize on this issue and really cast the Democrats as extreme because that's what elections come down to. It's the reason that nobody had on their bingo card that we were going to close out the presidential election with transgender sex changes for prisoners or men and women's sports. But here we are. That's how we closed out the election.
And it's not because that was the most pressing issue. It's because that was a great way to show that the Democrats are extreme and radical and way outside the mainstream. And I view this immigration and deportation issue as the exact same opportunity. That voice you're hearing on the Scott Chetting Show today, that of Brent Buchanan of Signal, C-Y-G-N-A-L, a leading polling organization for Republicans. We're talking about some national polling that Brent and his company have just come out of the field with.
So, on the issue of deportation, Over 60% of midterm voters say deport those who are illegally in the United States. And you didn't parse it out and say those who are here illegally and have committed other crimes. This is simply: if you're in the country illegally, 60% Of midterm voters want those people deported. That's a clear majority of the American people. Oh, it's huge.
And I actually was digging in this morning and wrote an article about this. And you can check it out on my X profile. Why is this so radically different of how the media is framing this? and how American voters sit. Because if you look at the media framing, it's over 90% negative on the issue of deportation.
And I found a subgroup of voters. who I'm pretty darn sure is in control of the media, and it is young white liberal women. They are 94% opposed to deportations. 94% when the rest of the country is 61% in support of it. I mean, that is a that's beyond a chasm.
I don't know what the next adjective I can use to describe is, but it makes a lot of sense when you realize who is pushing this news to us and how radically different they are on this topic than literally everybody else.
Well, it's not just this topic. It's a lot of topics, but that'll be a conversation for another day. Brent, a couple of more questions you asked, and you talked about the relentless negative media coverage. If it's 90% negative on deportations, it's 100% negative when it comes specifically to ICE and ICE tactics. But in your survey, you found a majority of the American people support ICE, specifically saying ICE, enforcing immigration laws to remove illegal immigrants.
It says here 54% of the American people support ICE removals. But what was the story among Democrats? Yeah. 81% opposed. You dig into liberal women, and it's approaching 100%.
Uh, in opposition to what ICE is doing, and the same reason on this that we phrased the question, we didn't say, Do you like ICE? Because my guess is that that is actually upside down. But we said ICE, which is its mission to enforce federal immigration laws, by what? By removing illegal immigrants from the U.S. We laid out exactly what ICE does and what it is currently doing, and it gets 54% support among swing voters.
It jumps to almost 60% support.
So, again, it's just the Democrats, once again, strongly in opposition to an issue that 60% of the people who are going to decide this election swing voters actually agree with Donald Trump and the Republicans on. All right, Brent, let's close out this conversation by talking about electoral impact. On the initial generic ballot, you found that Democrats had a small lead. Over Republicans on the generic ballot. But when you ask people do these immigration issues, does opposing ICE enforcing immigration laws make you change your opinion?
What happened? In other words, My question is this, can Republicans use the immigration issue and pivot off of what Democrats are saying to erase the Democratic advantage that they appear to have in the midterm, yes or no? Completely. Lean in harder, don't go backwards. When I see some of these members of Congress talking about how we should have been more targeted in how we're approaching this, and then I look at this data and think, you guys need to go.
Uh, you're part of the problem. You know, the Republicans who are saying go further are the ones who are part of the solution here because that's what voters are telling us. Almost 60 percent of folks. Oppose shutting down the government to defund ICE. They oppose defunding ICE, period.
And then, when you, to your point, you ask about it in an electoral context, it swings the race six points. That is almost double the margin of error of this poll shift. When we make this election about Democrats. Not supporting ICE, not being for deporting people, and then going so far as because they want to shut down the government over it. That is a six-point swing.
I don't know another issue that I could lay out for our clients who are a lot of these people running for office and in office right now that would give them a six-point swing, double the margin of error of a survey. That voice is Brent Buchanan. He is a leading Republican pollster. He is with Signal. Brent, we've got about 30 seconds.
I'm just going to sum it up. Number one, the American people want deportations. Number two, The American people support ICE. Number three, Democrats are living on another planet. When it comes to Immigration and number four, if you're a Republican candidate within the sound of our voices.
Lean in. Don't lean out. Don't go wobbly. Be for deportations. Be for strong borders.
And be for the American people. That was Brent Buchanan. This is Scott Jennings. You're listening to Common Sense for the American People. More after this.
Slaying the leftist narratives one by one. This is the Scott Jennings Show. Breaking news to all of you. This morning as I was preparing the show, I was. Preparing to report to you all about the neighborhood blockades that are going on in Minneapolis.
You've seen the video, I'm sure. The civilians are setting up blockades. You pull up. And they check your license plate. These people aren't police.
They're not. They're in any official capacity, but they check your license plate. This is highly illegal.
So I emailed. Jared, you know. You were there. I emailed the city of Minneapolis. And I had a simple question.
Has anyone been arrested? for setting up illegal blockades, for harassing citizens. For apparently having some sort of secret database by which they check whether your license plate. belongs to an ice vehicle. And after some back and forth, with the city of Minneapolis just a moment ago.
Literally minutes ago. we got a response from the Minneapolis police. I will read it to you. No arrests. have been made.
Now The city did tell me that the public works team did clean up the street and they took away the barricades and all the crap. that was in the street. But no arrests have been made. Why? Why?
Why are civilians In Minneapolis, Minnesota. or anywhere else for that matter. Allowed to go out into the street. Build a barricade. Physically stop other citizens, other people, from driving their cars.
Tell them to roll down their window. I've seen video. of people saying Oh, we ran your license plate through a database, and it looks like your car is owned by ICE. We need you to get out of the car. We need to talk to you about this.
Let me tell you something right now. If I rolled up on some Rinky dink. Makeshift barricade. and somebody had me roll down my window. And said, Hey, I need to talk to you about your license plate.
Well, let me just tell you. I wouldn't be putting it in park.
Okay. This is not normal behavior. Why? But again. There's a lot of mental illness out there.
I don't understand why the police don't arrest people.
Now we already know that in Minneapolis, According to Todd Lyons, who told us on this show, The mayor told the police department, do not assist ICE if they are under attack. From illegal aliens.
So if ICE is out doing its job and they come under attack, We know that the police were instructed not to help.
Now it seems to me. Because no arrests have been made in these blockades. That somebody told the police, don't arrest these guys. And you know what happens when people get away with crap like this? They will do it again.
Other people will be inspired. To do it? That's what you get. That's what you get. When you don't arrest people.
But that's the breaking news from the Scott Jetting Show to close out today. I have received officials Confirmation from the city of Minneapolis The public information officer of the police department. It's right here in front of me on this screen. No. Arrests Have been made.
Even though we have people in the street building barricades and stopping their fellow citizens. It is more than just a traffic hazard. It is unsafe. It is harassment. This is clearly illegal behavior.
But in Minneapolis where they exist in a state of secession. from the federal government. Apparently they also exist in a state of secession from their own laws. and from good public order. If I lived in Minneapolis, I would demand arrests.
I want people arrested. for doing. Crap like this. Before we close out the show today, a pitch for you to come on a cruise. With me in November, I'm ready for it right now.
We gotta wait till November. It's the Gulf of America Cruise. Scott Jennings and Mike Gallagher. We'll be cruising. Through the Caribbean.
The Gulf of America. Sign up to go with us. Text the word cruise to 94878. That's cruise. to nine four eight seven eight or go to Scott Jennings' show and click on the Gulf of America Cruise banner.
We have a limited number of cabins, but I want to see you in one of them. Crystal blue waters, incredible ports. First class hospitality and a lot of great conversation with Mike Gallagher. And yours truly, Scott Jennings. It is the Gulf of America cruise in November.
I want to see you there. Thank you, Boston. You've been great. Tomorrow we're back in New York City. It's common sense.
For the American people, Scott Jennings signing off, but we'll see you tomorrow. For over 30 years, Point of Grace has shared music, faith, and friendship with listeners across the country.
