In other news, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl is set to take place, and Delta One is offering a premium travel experience. This holiday season reached for the one butter that never disappoints, Kerrygold. Made with milk from grass-fed cows on Irish family farms, it's rich, creamy, and perfect for baking. Whether browning butter for cookies or crafting the flakiest pie crust, Kerrygold's high butterfat content makes all the difference in flavor and texture. Holiday treats will taste extraordinary. From the mighty 990 Broadcast Center, you're waking up in Stearns Country with Todd Stearns.

And happy New Year's Eve, everybody. This is Todd Stearns. You are in Stearns Country, proudly broadcasting in the principal Toyota Memphis studio this morning. Wow, it is going to be a busy night, a lot of fun here in the Mid-South. And all I can tell you is thank you, President Trump.

Thank you, Mr. President, for the incredible work the Memphis Safe Task Force has done, because I think tonight's New Year's Eve celebrations across the Mid-South are really going to be off the charts. And a lot of people are excited. They're expecting thousands of people downtown on Beale Street. Can you imagine the vibe as people return back to downtown, to Beale Street, to the Peabody, to celebrate and to have fun and to ring in the new year without having to worry about their cars getting stolen, getting carjacked or getting shot.

Well, that's because of the Memphis Safe Task Force. Nothing our local city council did at all. Nothing City Hall did at all. This is all because of the great work of the Trump administration. Of course, State Senator Brent Taylor as well, who led and continues to lead the charge to make Memphis matter.

And as a result of that, I think tonight we're going to see a huge, huge change. And I'm excited to hear from you guys. We're going to be talking about some great ways to celebrate New Year's Eve. It is going to be a lot of fun wherever you go. If you're out on Beale Street watching the ball drop, if you are at the Peabody or one of the major concert venues around town.

There are so many things, and we'll go through a list later on this morning, of ways that you and your family can celebrate the new year. You know, for many years when I was at Fox News Channel, one of my responsibilities was to anchor our New Year's Eve coverage, and that meant very, very long days. You would start in the wee hours of the morning. You'd be up at like 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning because we would have to broadcast from high atop where that crystal ball, the Waterford crystal ball was. And that was always a lot of fun.

And then you had to stick around for the evening coverage where you would have 2 million people gathered there in Times Square for the big ball drop, which is a blast. I don't know. I'm not one of those people that would be willing to, because you have to get there like hours, like 12 hours before the ball dropped to get your spot, and you're not allowed to leave.

So no food, no water, no bathroom, no thank you.

So if I was, at least as a news anchor, we got to go back to the office in between news hits.

So anyway, it was a lot of fun, and I'm excited to be back here in the Mid-South for what's going to happen tonight. Planning on driving down to Beale Street. I've got to anchor Newsmax tonight in primetime and then going to make the track over to Beale Street.

So I hope to see you folks down there as well. What do you have planned for New Year's Eve? What are you going to do? Also, what traditions do you and your family have? You know, a lot of people are a little superstitious about the New Year.

So they do the black eyed peas. But there may be other traditions that we don't know about. Give us a call this morning. Let us know what your New Year's Eve celebration plans are. Are you one of the people that's going to go back downtown?

Give it a shot and see what's happening. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. May I just say, and I don't want to jinx it, but it's been a quiet news cycle here in the Mid-South. which is we kind of needed it.

It has been a wild and crazy year. And I'm wondering what you think the biggest story of the year was here in the Mid-South. And when you look at all of the things happening, whether it's the chaos at City Hall, the massive chaos within the Memphis Shelby County school system, I think for me, the biggest story, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this as well. I think the biggest story is President Trump saying that he's going to make Memphis matter. For me, I think that is the biggest story of not only the year, but really the decade.

Because the president, once Memphis popped up on his radar, President Trump took immediate action. And I think that should mean a lot for every citizen who lives here in Shelby County, because he didn't have to do that. I mean, there are other cities that are just now getting the National Guard, New Orleans, for example, but he picked us first. We were the first American city outside of Washington, D.C. We were the first American city that the president decided to clean up.

And, man, has he done an amazing job. City Hall announced Friday crime in Memphis, serious crime in Memphis, at a 25-year low. and Mayor Paul Young ought to be sending a fruit basket to Mar-a-Lago because that's all because of the work of Donald Trump.

So anyway, I'm curious to hear your thoughts. And we're going to be talking more about this on the national level at 11 o'clock here on the Mighty 990 for our national program. We do have some disappointing news for all you Buc-ee's fans.

some of you have been like waiting in your car for the new Buc-ee's to open in West Memphis and Fayette County and it turns out you're going to have to wait a little bit longer uh the news coming out yesterday this is from the Daily Memphian that Buc-ee's is going to delay its West Memphis location until 2028 and the Fayette County location until 2027 so you folks in Lakeland and Arlington, you're going to have a better shot at getting your brisket and whatever else, I guess, beaver nuggets. You're going to be able to get all of that. But again, both of them were actually set to open in 2026. But you're going to have to wait for that delicious brisket and the clean bathrooms. And I'm just going to tell you, they got some clean bathrooms at at Bucky's.

All right. 901-260-5926, our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. Let's start the day in Midtown. Kathy is on the line.

Kathy, happy New Year's Eve to you. Happy New Year's Eve to you, darling. How are you? You know, I'm doing well. Thank you for asking.

What's on the big agenda for the night? Are you a big partier? No, I'm not. I'm old, honey. I did all my partying days years and 40 years ago.

Well, that's still pretty young in my book. Oh, aren't you sweet? You are a charmer. That's what you are. I'll tell you what I'm concerned about, and that's this.

Anybody living from old East Memphis to downtown has noticed the drag racers that seem to keep coming through somewhere between midnight and 4 a.m.

Now, this is an every night thing. This has been going on for like three years now where I live in Midtown. They come up and down the street at 1 o'clock in the morning. They go west, and at between 3.30 and 4, they go east. And this is just getting stupider and stupider.

And now with this being the New Year's Eve before 2026, I'm getting very concerned because I think they're marking out territory. And all I wanted to say was, when you hear the drag racers come down and through, anywhere from Old East Memphis to downtown, town uh somebody give a call to the police call the cops and let them know because until they get a call list of like 10 complaints then they'll finally put it on their radar we've got the national guard here and i think they need to know that this is weird behavior i have seen some of the drivers the lead driver is a white fellow with kind of longish hair and wearing sunglasses even at night. And the other two cars, two or three cars that go with it, they're now up to four cars. I don't know who's driving them because they have tinted windows, so I can't see the race, male or female, nothing. And it's just really strange behavior.

And when they started running around Midtown, they started it almost within a week of when people had noticed that there were spray-painted markings on their curbs. And that's something I've been told that the gangs do when they come into a town, and then they keep doing stuff to see how many complaints they get. And if they don't get enough complaints, then they decide that's the area town they want to have a terrorist strike on. And we're in the old part of town. We've got houses here that have old people.

We've got houses here that have young people. We've got houses here that are vacant and being fixed up for sale right now. And anyway, it just has me concerned. If everybody keeps their eyes open. Kathy, let me ask you, are there any particular roads that you know these drag racers are using?

We'll pass along that info to MPD. They're using the parkways and they're using Central Avenue, or they were using Central. Then I made a call about it, and they quit for about four or five days.

Now they've started again on Central Avenue at various times of the day. because that's where I look out. That's kind of my front yard. And it's like, well, for crying out loud, guys. And I'm up all night because I'm old and infirmed.

So I notice things that probably people that have lives outside of their house wouldn't notice. But this just is weird to me, and especially when they're driving up down Central, and I'm in the area where Immaculate Conception Cathedral is. And they had closed, you know, you've got all those vacant buildings there since they closed Immaculate Conception School down under COVID, and they never reopened it. And for a long time, for over a year, they had buses in the back that would come in, and they were processing a bunch of illegal immigrants behind the cathedral all day long. Wow.

There wasn anybody there to notice it because the school was closed down Kathy let me jump in here because we going to have to take a break here We going to pass along that information Actually it already been passed along because MPD comms team they listen to the morning show.

So I'm sure they're already going to be on this. But I think the issue here is we're all in it together. And I commend you for, again, alerting us and alerting the police because that's what it's all about. We've got to work together. real quick, Kathy, I'm going to put you on hold, but I want to send you a copy and we'll mail it to you so you don't have to get out and about, but I'm going to send you a copy of my new book, Star Spangled Blessings, Devotions for Patriots.

And we just appreciate you listening to KWAM, and we certainly appreciate you looking out for your fellow neighbors there in the Midtown area. And folks, that's how you do it. And that's what we need to be doing. Kathy, don't go anywhere. Helen is going to get your info real quick here.

And this is what it's all about. And this is how we work together, folks. And God bless us. We have one of the best police forces in America. And these men and women, for many, many years, they were working in a war zone.

They could have gone anywhere else, probably made a whole lot more money, and they probably were going to be able to not only make more money, but also dodge fewer bullets out there. But they chose to stay here and to patrol our streets and keep us safe. And I don't know about you, but I'm mighty thankful for that, and you should be as well. All right, I think I forgot to give the number out for our AutoZone Liberty Bowl ticket giveaway. We do have two pairs of tickets to give away for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, and there is a lot of excitement in town, a lot of fans of Navy, a lot of fans of Cincinnati.

I believe Cincinnati arrived yesterday at the airport. A lot of football fans here in Memphis for the big game. And KWAM wants to send you to the big game. We have a pair of these tickets, two pairs of these tickets, each ticket valued at $90 apiece.

So these are great tickets, great seats. You're going to have a great time. You just need to be caller three and caller number four at 901-260-5926. Again, 901-260-5926.

So on CNN last night, there was an interesting conversation. They've been doing some polling data. CNN's Harry Enten is noting that J.D. Vance is already blasting out ahead of the presidential field for 2028, which is insane because we actually need to be focused on the midterm. But this polling information is rather interesting.

Listen to cut number four, please. First in the nation primary. I mean, take a look here. J.D. Vance at 51 percent.

The next closest is Nikki Haley, who's at nine. Who's at nine. I mean, what is that? That's 42 points ahead of the pack. Tulsi Gabbard is at eight in the first in the nation primary.

J.D. Vance, you know, running 42 points ahead. There's a reason why he's such a heavy favor in the prediction market so far, because if you win the GOP primary in New Hampshire, chances are you're going to be the Republican nominee for president. All right, there you have it. That was Harry Inton on CNN.

And look, there's a lot of ground to cover between now and 2028. We've got to get through the midterm elections, and that is going to be a tough slog, especially if Republicans don't start moving the needle on a lot of these investigations and dealing with all of this grift. look I appreciate investigations as much as the next guy but Carrie Lake was on Newsmax last night and she laid it out she said the issue here is we got to start seeing people going to jail we've got to start seeing people held accountable and that's whether it's Russia Russia Russia and the attempt to overthrow a duly elected president or what we're dealing with in Minneapolis and Ohio right now and Texas and California with this massive Somalian fraud. And nobody's been arrested. By the way, this situation in Minneapolis, they've been investigating this for years, and nobody did anything about it.

And that is going to demoralize voters more than anything else. All right, let's go to the phone lines. Let's say hello to Barbara in Memphis. Barbara, Happy New Year's Eve. Happy New Year.

And congratulations, Barbara, because you just picked up a pair of tickets to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Woo-hoo! Wow, congratulations there, Barbara. By the way, have you been to the Liberty Bowl before in years past? About 10 years ago, I believe.

All right, wow, so you're going to have a great time. You're going to get a great view of all the big renovations. and someone told me the other day it's going to be out of the world. What they're doing with the stadium is going to be spectacular. Wow.

I want to be surprised.

Well, you're going to be surprised. You've got to bundle up. It may be a little chilly out there, Barbara. You've got big plans tonight to ring in the new year. I'll stay at home.

All right. It's going to be nice tonight. Look, 35 degrees when the ball drops, give or take a few degrees, which is sort of like a heat wave compared to what we've just had over the past several days. And tomorrow, New Year's Day, it's going to be in the 50s. This is a Chamber of Commerce weather, ladies and gentlemen.

Just pack a jacket with you. Welcome back to Stearns Country in the Principal Toyota Memphis studio. And congratulations to our two winners of the tickets to go see the big AutoZone Liberty Bowl. It's always fun when you've got folks that are local fans of one of the teams that are going to be playing. And I suspect we do have a lot of Navy fans here in the Mid-South.

All right, 901-260-5926, our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. We want to welcome in. It is Wednesday, and every Wednesday we welcome in our good friends Adam Martin and Chris Loftus from Strategic Financial Partners, strategicfinancialpartners.com.

So, fellas, happy New Year's Eve to you. Happy New Year's Eve to you.

So I've been asking the question, Adam, are you out on Beetle Street tonight? Are you partying at the stroke of midnight? What's going down? I will be at my home. I'll be lucky to make it to midnight.

I've got a child that will put her down, and my wife and I will try our best to stay up, but I can't make any promises. Chris, you see what you have to look forward to. Exactly.

So much to look forward to. We used to do a movie marathon nine times out of ten. I was telling you all before we got on the air, I have a little tradition I do where at the stroke of midnight, I have a shofar. I'm a trumpet player, and I'll herald in the new year on the shofar and play a few notes for the whole neighborhood just to enjoy and hear.

Well, you see, you need to come out. We're located. We have a couple of synagogues right here in the area. You ought to just get up on the roof of K-Wing. Exactly.

I'll do it. You'll have an audience. I'll do it. Absolutely. Remember, though, back in the day, because my parents had us at church every time the doors were open, and it's like we always had some sort of a New Year's Eve lock-in where you had to stay up all night, and I just thought that was evil from the pit of hell because it's hard to stay up all night, and then the next day you're just ruined.

Exactly.

Yeah. It's rough. And then there was – and then, of course, for Super Bowl, you would always do – you would go to watch the Super Bowl at church. But instead of the cool commercials, they would play like gospel tracks. Nothing wrong with that, but, you know.

Been there, done that. Yep, absolutely. You know, it kind of – and the halftime show. Were you the son of a Baptist preacher or something? No, no.

A deacon. That's worse. Worse. Way worse. Oh, my goodness.

guys uh and by the way folks if you maybe you have a question for our um for our guys here dealing with your finances give us a call 901-260-5926 that's 901-260-5926 i have to imagine a lot of people are putting together you know the resolutions you're not going to be able to step foot into an atc fitness for a couple of weeks until that dies now but also for finances you know and i have to imagine that a lot of folks are kind of setting some financial goals as they're going into the new year. Definitely. Today is the deadline to take your required minimum distribution for the year of 2025.

So what that means is if you have a qualified retirement plan, individual retirement account, 401k, 403b, you've deferred paying the taxes on the money that you've saved. And if you're over age 73 or you're turning 73, then the government says you can no longer defer and you have to take a distribution from those dollars. And so I want to get out and say today is the day if you haven't taken it, you know, call us, we can help you through it or talk to your financial professional because there is a 25% penalty on the dollars that you don't take.

So we want to make sure that you're not paying that penalty if you don't have to. But again, like you mentioned, today's a day also where you can think about what am I going to do differently in 2026, set that resolution to where, hey, I'm going to get out in front of my finances. Yeah, I want to get, we'll talk about that in just a second, but you did bring up the require minimum distributions, and that deadline is at midnight.

So if somebody hasn't done what they need to do, what do you recommend they do between now and midnight?

So the first thing is just call your financial professional. If you don't have one, you can call us. And what we'll do is we'll just simply look at what you have is required or qualified dollars.

So the way that that is calculated is as of today, what is the ending value of that account? There is an IRS table that says that based on your age, you have to take X amount. We can actually calculate that for you and help you figure out a way to get that distributed. And then, you know, as long as you have it submitted, not necessarily the bank, the money in your bank account, you're going to be good. And this is for people who what turned 73.

Okay, got it.

So that's, That's good advice. And again, if you want to reach out to Chris or Adam, here are the numbers, 901-260-2438 or 901-657-3324. People are maybe thinking here, okay, what options do I have here and what options do people have? Yeah, that's a great question. And what we like to do is talk through your situation because you may be somebody who has a pension or significant social security coming in and you don't necessarily need the distribution from your portfolio, but you have to take it.

So what can I do to avoid catapulting you to a higher tax bracket? And that's called a qualified charitable distribution.

So if you're somebody who likes to tithe, if you're somebody who has a charity or a nonprofit that you work with and you want to help them out, you can send the RMD to them and it's no tax impact to you. The government gets zero of the money and your charity gets, you know, helped out.

So I think just about every pastor listening this morning, their ears peaked, you know, they're like, wait, what, what, what? This is great news. You know, let's talk about, let's talk about the new year and making some, you know, financial, you know, decisions and goals, setting some goals. We have a lot of young Republicans that are listening to us. Those are kids in their mid-20s, early, early 30s.

Chris, what advice do you have for them?

Well, first of all, start taking stock of where you came from this previous year and where you'd like to go this upcoming year.

So it's all about how you start, right? And I think that's the hardest thing for a lot of people to do is start. It starts with your budget. It starts with having goals. It starts with being able to look at, okay, hey, what do I have coming in?

What do I have to go out? I was talking to a young lady who is an accountant recently, and she was basically looking at me where I was saying, hey, what do you have in income every month? What do you want to look differently this year in terms of purchasing power or in terms of saving for retirement? Because that was where our conversation started is, hey, I know I need to be doing something for retirement with my benefits. Where do I start?

And that's the advice I would give is to be able to just find yourself in a position where you can give yourself the option to have those goals. Figure out where you are as a budgeting standpoint is concerned. and put yourself in position to kind of have some successes and some wins, some very measurable wins as you go on further into the year. Adam? I would say, you know, this is an opportunity to go from being a dreamer to a doer.

You talk about ATC being packed. You know, we would love to see our offices packed because, you know, there is a lot of, I'd say, measurable success that we can show you that just by putting this plan into action is going to be rewarding for you in the long run. I was looking at, I just wanted to double check because I know the president had promised $2,000 tariff dividend checks to working class Americans. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen. I know Senator Ron Johnson out of Wisconsin telling The Hill, we can't afford that.

It's sort of laughable. Maybe if we just shut down some of these Somali child care centers, we would have the money. You guys don't need to comment on that if you want to stay neutral. But again, there are some things that are happening in the new year, especially things coming out of Washington. We understand the Internal Revenue Service with income, you know, the income taxes.

That could be very beneficial to the average American as well. It definitely can be. And it's what we call found money. You know, we can measure what we make as far as a paycheck, and we can measure what we spend as far as expenses. But when we get things like a tariff dividend check or a stimulus check, this is, you got two options.

You can either absorb it to your cash flow and buy things that don't help you out in the long run, or you can say, hey, I wasn't planning for this money. How can I take this money and get ahead? And we're here to sit down and show you what compound interest can do on a $2,000 check. I love this. Adam Martin and Chris Loftus from Strategic Financial Partners.

By the way, the website address, guys, strategicfinancialpartners.com. That's strategicfinancialpartners.com. I want to go back to our younger listeners because a lot of them may think, oh, I can't afford to go and visit a financial, you know, when you think financial partners are like, oh, how much is this going to cost me? Why is it important? And, you know, what advice do you want to give those younger listeners that, you know, may be hesitant about about stepping out and visiting a group like you guys?

That's a great question.

Well, first and foremost, when it comes to us, I can speak for us personally. That first meeting is a free 15 minute consultation.

So we don't want anybody to have to worry about that when they want when they're having those questions. We don't want them to have to think about a bill to start thinking about those and asking the right questions So that number one Number two we want them to make sure that they prioritizing hey do you want to make sure you have the good strategy All right Because you could go online you could you know see what Wikipedia says see what ChatGPT says you know do the millennial Gen Z solution of like looking it up Or you could get established professionals who are going to guide you in the right direction through tried and true maneuvers that will allow you not ultimately guaranteed success, but success in your own right to be able to take control of your plan and ownership of your life and your finances. And Adam, I've actually read a lot of stories about people who did that. They, you know, right out of college, they had a plan. They were working with financial advisors and they were actually able to retire in their early, you know, their early 50s, late 40s, simply because they had a plan.

They built a financial foundation and, you know, were able to, you know, they don't have to go nine to five anymore. You know, I use this reference a lot with the younger people is that, you know, you have an ailment, you can certainly get on WebMD, but then when you do that, you kind of learn like I've got six months to live, you know?

So it's funny that the internet's full of advice and full of information. One of the best things that we can do, and it's free, like Chris mentioned, the consultation that we have initially, there's no charge to you, but we can extinguish the myths. We can tell you what's true. We can tell you how to get on track to what you want to accomplish. And you don't pay us anything until we implement a plan, whether that's investments and we do an asset management fee, or if we implement insurance, there's a commission with an insurance product, or if we do a comprehensive plan where we really, I call it the treasure map.

We're going to tell you where the mode is, where the collapsing bridge is and then ultimately where the treasure chest is. And it's as simple as following the plan. We can put it in layman's terms. We don't try to talk over people's heads. We really just want you to put the ball in motion so it stays in motion.

Speaking of WebMD, guys, I had a little issue. I just had a little spot, a little mark on my thumb. And so I go to WebMD and apparently I had thumbnail cancer. I don't know. But that's what I thought I had.

But it turned out I just had a magic marker. I mean, but that causes a lot of anxiety for a lot of people. And the same is true for when they try to fix their own personal finances by finding stuff on the internet. You know, it's not a one size fits all. Everybody's situation is different.

And that's what we do best is we listen to what you're trying to accomplish. And we recommend the thing that's in your best interest. All right. Final thought, Chris. Todd, I'll tell you right now, you probably have easily many, many listeners right now who value advice, who want to do the right thing and want to put themselves in a better position in 2026 than they were in 2025.

Those people need to call us. Those people need to pick up the phone and take some initiative and ownership in the financial well-being and the financial well-being and lifestyle of their families to put themselves in a position to where they can win 2026 and win in the future years as well. All right, guys, we're going to have to leave it there. If you would like to contact Adam, give him a call at 901-260-2438. That's 901-260-2438.

Chris, give him a call 901-657-3324. That's 657-3324. You can also go on their website, strategicfinancialpartners.com. That's strategicfinancialpartners.com, and they're going to be able to help you out there. Guys, happy new year.

Hope you're having a great start to your day. A lot of people taking the day off as well you should. I just got a message from our good buddy, Jim Lesapio, who owns so many great restaurants, and he is a great American patriot.

If you remember, Jim and his crew are the ones that fed over a thousand federal agents a couple of weeks ago. We were honored to be able to sponsor that. And just I'm telling you, people had a great meal. And Jim and his crew do wonderful work. Of course, he's got a number of establishments there on Beale Street, including Rum Boogie.

He says it's going to be a great night, and we need everybody to get out there. Can you imagine wall-to-wall people having a great time, celebrating, getting back to the way things used to be here in Memphis? That's what it's all about.

So hope you and your family get down there. And if you go over to Rumbuggy, I want you to go and thank Jim for being such a great American patriot and supporter also of KWAM. And we greatly appreciate that. All right. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is sounding an alarm bell.

And we've talked about this a lot on our national show at 11 o'clock here on KWAM, that the Republicans are going to have to step it up, and especially Senate Republicans, when it comes to codifying President Trump's agenda. Cut number three, please. I don't think that the American people want to go through another bogus impeachment. But I also know that I've heard it directly from many Democrats that have gone on CNN or MSNBC and said that that's what they intend to do if Hakeem Jeffries does become speaker. Not to mention they're just going to obstruct.

And part of the reason why the American people wanted a change and why they did not vote for Kamala Harris. And as Tommy had pointed out, why we won by such a big margin this past election cycle is because of the fact that they wanted President Trump's policies to be fulfilled. And so all we have to do is remind the American people exactly what they are going to do if the Democrats regain control and also to what we've done for the American people.

So remember, that big, beautiful bill, there was a lot of good tax incentives there for the American people. There's a ton that we're still going to do. And I think one of the biggest winning issues will be if a Republican Congress can codify President Trump's executive order on capping prescription prices, which I'm hopeful that they will do. If that happens, the midterms are with us. The wins are in our sail and we win and we can continue on bringing prosperity to Americans.

Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, thank you so much for joining us tonight. And again, Happy New Year. All right. So, again, ladies and gentlemen, it's very simple. It's very simple.

If you codify the America First agenda, Republicans are going to win, and they're going to win big in the midterms. But if we don't, we're going to have problems. And one of the big issues is the SAVE Act. That would actually require some form of ID, whether it's your passport, your driver's license. You've got to prove that you are a citizen of the United States.

and that legislation passed in April. It passed through the House of Representatives, but we are still waiting for the Senate to take up the legislation.

Now, the Senate's going to tell you that, oh, well, we don't have the votes. No, they do have the votes. They have to abolish the filibuster, and they also need to, while they're abolishing the filibuster, they need to get rid of the blue slip as well. And the problem is we've got some rhino Republicans out there, and a couple of them are right here in the Mid-South, and I'm talking about Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith.

So we need to make sure that all of the delegation from the Mid-South, and you need to be calling them. It's Senator Marsha Blackburn, Bill Haggerty, Tom Cotton, John Bozeman in Arkansas, and then Cindy Hyde-Smith and Roger Wicker in Mississippi.

So we have a special obligation being in the Mid-South. we've got to make sure that all six of these individuals are supporting an effort to abolish the filibuster. Because hear me on this, if the Democrats ever get control of the Senate again, that's the first thing they're going to get rid of. The Democrats are going to do it.

So the question now is, do the Republicans have the fortitude to get out there and do it first so that we can get President Trump's agenda codified? And if we don't, we are going to have problems in the midterms. And again, that congressional race in Middle Tennessee, I know everybody, I know, and this irritates a lot of folks in the conservative world or the Republican world, rather. But the reality is that Van Epps should have won that race by 20 points. He should have.

And I know there's a lot of spin going on right now with that particular race. But the reality of it is that you have a demoralized Republican base right now. And one of the reasons why we're not getting enough done. And we've got to do that. And I know the president is a busy man and he's throwing a lot of stuff at lawmakers.

Maybe just maybe we've got to pace ourselves just a bit here, but we've got to start focusing on number one. We've already secured our borders.

Now we've got to secure our elections. We've got to get that SAVE Act through. And the only way we're going to be able to do that is to abolish the filibuster. All right, we've got to scoot out of here. Folks, be safe out there on the roadways tonight.

Have a great time. Happy New Year, everybody. We'll see you in 2026.
