Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun totem, Bible-clinging, deplorable America. That's right. I love this American. Todd starts.
Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Sterns radio program. What an honor to have you with us today.
So look, I I feel obligated to to have a conversation and really set some ground rules. Because we've added so many brand new radio stations, and there are a lot of new listeners. And I want everybody to understand where I'm coming from when we talk about the issues on this program. First and foremost, I am a Christian man, and that flavors everything we do on the program. Uh second of all, I happen to be a conservative.
And I follow the conservative precepts, conservative ideology. I am also America first, and I am pro-Israel. I don't think there's a conflict between any of those things. And so whenever a candidate comes along and says, well, we're going to put America first, then I'm going to get behind that candidate. And if the candidate turns out to back off of those things or the lawmaker backs off of those things, well, I'm going to call them out on it.
And one of the reasons why I do that is because I don't work off of talking points. I don't get a paycheck from the Republican Party. I don't get a paycheck from Donald J. Trump. We have sponsors.
We have people that support our program. And that's ultimately who I'm responsible to. not not some political organization. And last night, I was doing the Newsmax show. I was getting a little frustrated.
And I, We had all these conservatives coming on, and I am very fired up over the H-1B visa scandal, and that's what it is: a scandal. And I'm pretty upset at the White House and the position they're taking on this because they know that an overwhelming majority of the H one B visas are being given to entry level jobs. Those are jobs that any American citizen is qualified to have. Except for maybe the people who are furries. But otherwise everybody else in America would be qualified for these jobs.
And the fact is, we've flooded the nation with just tens of millions of illegals.
Now we have the H-1B visas, and there are other visa programs that are being abused as well. But for the President to come out and announce, no, no, no, this is for specialized tasks and assignments, but it's not, and it hasn't been for a very long time. And I I'm telling you that The White House, they tried to walk this back some yesterday, and I don't think they did a very good job of it.
So, and then the president talking about sending in 600,000, bringing in 600,000 Chinese students to our universities. And the president said that if we don't have these students, well, the universities may collapse. They may not be able to have the financial wherewithal to stay in business. And I say fine, because all of those schools are paid for by our tax dollars, aside from the private schools, but even the private schools get a lot of taxpayer money.
So I say let them fail. You're telling me. And hear me on this. You're telling me that we have room for all of these Chinese nationals who are all spies. We have room for those people, but we don't have room for American-born kids?
No, not at all.
So here's what needs to happen. And I think this is a pretty fair assessment. We need to immediately suspend the H-1B visa program for the next, I don't know, six months to a year. Suspend it. Nobody else gets into the country.
Let's take a long, hard look at who got these H one B visas. And if these were for entry level jobs, they need to be revoked and they should be sent back to their home country. By the way, over seventy percent over seventy percent of the H one B visas coming from India.
So, we need to really take a long, hard look at this. You say, how many taught?
Well, how many foreign students would you accept at American universities, American taxpayer-funded universities? Are you ready for this? Zero, not a one. Until we can take care of educating all of our law-abiding American citizens and their children, why are we bringing foreigners into the country? I say shut it all down.
And let's focus on deporting all of the illegals who are here. And I am hearing estimates that you are just beyond. It's really not beyond belief, but this number of 10 or 15 million illegals don't believe it. It's about three times that three times that many. And I'm telling you, if we were to deport, if we were able to magically with Star Trek, if we were able to beam all of the illegals out of the country, back to their home countries, it would solve ninety percent of the problems in this country right now.
I mean, it really is that simple. I mean, it is.
So, the question is: will the Trump administration follow through on the campaign promises? Because I'm telling you, MAGA World is enraged over this. Enraged. And rightfully so. But this is This is typical of Washington, D.C.
politics. And we're going to have Congressman John Rose on the show a little bit later on, the Congressman from Tennessee. Rarely do we get to hear a lawmaker on Capitol Hill express righteous indignation.
Well, we got to hear that from Congressman John Rose regarding the continuing resolution.
Now let me just briefly share with you what happened on that. By the way, the government's going to reopen. President Trump signed it last night and They'll get back to doing whatever they're doing, and all those lazy, those lazy ass people. That could get up and go to work are going to get their stamp benefits. That all that's all gonna happen.
But the clean CR it turned out not to be clean. As a matter of fact. We now know that there was a poison pill inserted, and according to my sources, it was Jon Thune who was responsible for doing this, and it would allow the senators to sue Taxpayer or to sue taxpayers. I mean, our government, we own the government, we control it, we fund it for a half a million dollars. Because the FBI spied on their phone conversations.
You say, well, Todd, that seems like a pretty noble thing. You know, it's one. Yeah, but the problem is they don't allow this legislation, it does not allow. Members of the House of Representatives to sue. It doesn't even allow regular old Joes to sue.
This was all around the J6 stuff. And you've had a lot of civilians out there, a lot of citizens. Who have been grossly abused by the FBI, they have no recourse. But these senators do. and John Rose called him out yesterday, and I'm glad he did.
But I want to get back to Newsmax and why I was a little frustrated on my show yesterday.
So we have all these conservatives. Not a single conservative on my show. Would actually call out the administration. And you know why? Because people are afraid.
They're afraid of speaking out against. The Trump administration. And I don't know why. I can speculate. Maybe they don't want to get invited to the Christmas party.
You know, they want the invitations to the Christmas parties, they don't want to get disinvited. But you know what? That's not why I do this show to get invited to the parties. I don't like parties all that much anyway. President Trump is the greatest president we've had in modern American history.
That changes nothing. Nothing. We just have a simple disagreement. And if conservatives can't have honest conversations What are we doing here? I mean, in all honesty, what are we and that makes us no better than the Democrats, right?
So anyway, I by the way, that reminds me of a story. I was working as our regular, we had a regular White House correspondent at Fox back in the day. And he was out for a while, so they flew me down to D.C. And for the longest time, I was the fill-in White House correspondent. Did a pretty good job, enjoyed it, loved it.
Worked right there in the White House. And we had a little tiny Closet. And when I mean tiny closet, I mean it was a literal closet. Where there was only room for a chair and me. That was it, and our gear.
The only redeeming factor it was they had piled up all of these hazmat suits.
So in the event there was some sort of a chemical attack in the White House, I would just simply have to open the door of the closet and grab one of the devices. That was the only redeeming factor of that office. It was, if you were claustrophobic, you were host.
So anyway, Christmas time rolled around. I was um Oh, what was it? I was writing about. how um about the Obama administration and the Christmas decorations. And for that particular Christmas, you may remember this, Mrs.
Obama decided to use. Um Recycled garbage bags. for the decorations. And she made all of these dog topiaries out of the um out of these garbage bags. It was very odd, very strange.
And I wrote a little column about it for Fox, and I said, How bad off is the economy that we can't afford. Christmas ornaments, and we're having to use recycled garbage bags to decorate the White House for Christmas. Who does that?
So anyway. The following day I had, or the day before that, I had received my official invitation to the White House Christmas party. It was my first time going to a White House Christmas party. I was kind of looking forward to it. It's, you know, they have good snacks.
And the cookies are delicious, I can attest to that.
So, anyway, I was all looking forward to it, and I had turned in my I had RSVP'd. And then I got a call back from the white, not even an email, so they could deny this. But I got a call from the White House. They said, Todd, we're so sorry. But We're rescinding your invitation.
And I said, What? What do you mean you're rescinding my invitation? She goes, We've got too many people coming to the White House to the Christmas party, so we're rescinding your invitation. And I'm thinking, It's the White House. What do you mean there's no room?
And so I decided to push back a little bit. I said, Well, what about the Rose Garden? Could I at least just, you know, hang out of the Rose Garden and like peep in the windows? They said, No, we got no room there either. Click.
That was it. I was I was out. And okay, great. I made fun of the first lady's, you know, garbage. Mm.
Christmas decorations.
So maybe that was, I deserved it. But the point is, you got to speak truth to the culture. It doesn't matter about the ramifications.
Somebody's going to get their feelings hurt.
Okay. But I think the problem in the White House right now is you've got people whispering in Trump's ear, and they don't have his best interest at heart. As a matter of fact, they certainly don't have the America first interest at heart. And it seems to me that if you're president of the United States, you want at least one person out there in the conservative world. To say, Mr.
President, This is not a good idea, sir. Mr. President, I'm hearing from a lot of our listeners around the country. And they're saying this is a big problem. These H-1B visas.
But I don't think people You can't surround yourself with a lot of yes men or yes women. You've got to have somebody, and it's good to have at least one. Who will just tell you like it is? Regardless. And that's what we're doing on this show.
I love my president. I want him to succeed. And I want the America First Movement to succeed. And trust me, we've got some new data coming in about socialism and the evangelical church. And it is very disturbing where this country is right now.
We are in a precarious spot. I mean, we really are in a precarious spot. This is I believe The last chance we're going to have to get this right. I see no one else on the political landscape right now. who can do what President Trump is doing.
And he has to be unleashed.
Something has happened.
Something has happened that has caused him to slow things down here. And I say, forget about that. Let's shut down the H1P visa program six months, a year, get it under control. Let's make sure that American people are doing jobs. By the way, there's a...
There is a story out there and a survey along with the story showing that American IT people are actually performing far above any other international workers.
So, the idea that Americans aren't talented enough, that's BS. And every single day. When it comes down to it, I answer to this audience. I answer to you. You listen because you either agree or disagree.
I hope we're a little entertaining. But at the end of the day, I'm an America first guy. And if it doesn't benefit the American workers and their families, I'm not interested in it. That's what I have to say. What about you?

Angie in Gainesville, Florida, or Georgia, rather, Gainesville, Georgia, listening to us on WTUN. Hi, Angie. What's going on? Hey, Todd, you already got me fired up today, so I just wanted to put my two cents in. Yeah, I mean, am I off base here, Angie?
No, you're you're you're not really You are, but you aren't, and it's hard for me to explain. We cannot get America back. until we stop allowing all these foreign countries coming into our United States They are bringing in, you know, everybody talks about the government or the um American people going back to work. It's hard, even in these days and times, for 40, 50, 60 year old people. That have lost their job to get back into the workforce.
Number one, they're being replaced with all these woke generation people. Number two. There's no jobs out there that everybody thinks there is because all these companies that are coming in that are not American made. are bringing in all of their own people from different countries.
Now I don't know the statistics. I'm not like you. I am not into your whatever statistics they are. But I can tell you what is going on in the state of Georgia. We have got the most laziest.
American people under the age of 40, and no offense to anybody. They want what they think they are worth and pay, not what they're really worth. Number one. Number two, I want to know when the government, our federal government, is going to stop raping us. Everybody talks about the dirt that, you know, the fraud food stamps and Medicaid, they need to be out.
They need to be back to work. They need to get a job. They need to do all of these things instead of living off the government. But there are so many Baby boomers. Better.
Never had we've got disability people. We've got veterans that need to come first. We've got all of these stuff. You see homeless veterans on the road every single day. It is getting so bad.
These days and times. that the government I wish Trump would really see the American people for what they are, not what they should be. And what I mean by that is 90% of the American people are really conservatives, believe it or not. They really are. This is the woke generation.
This is everything that's going on. And it really ticks me off that the government claims that American people are ripping them off. But if you look at how many taxes we have to pay in on everything, we don't own anything. If we pay a house off, we don't own it. We don't pay insurance or tag on a car.
We don't own it.
So it's just ridiculous. How all of these More in comp companies. California, Georgia. All of these states are bringing in all these foreign companies. Everything that we get is made with foreign material.
Oh, no doubt about that. Bring back America. When you see the USA sticker, really pay, it says made in USA, flip over the back. And it says manufactured in USA with foreign components. It doesn't matter if it's food.
It doesn't matter if it's a radio, a TV, a car. When are we really going to bring America back to America? All right, Angie, it's a good question, and we've got to leave it there. We've got to take a break. Angie raises some interesting points here.
By the way, are Americans lazy? Is that the issue? 901-260-5926. Again, 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show.
Have you heard about the new movie Call Sign Courage? It's the story of Space Force Commander Matt Lohmeyer. He's the one who blew the lid off the military's DEI agenda. He saw how Marxist messaging, critical race theory, and rampant DEI training was changing the culture of the military. Suddenly, everybody was equal.
They'd stripped away merit-based selection and promotions, and the lack of accountability, competency, and effectiveness had actually become a domestic threat. He spoke up how it was tearing apart the military's unity, readiness, and the whole reason why we have a military in the first place: the ability to fight and win wars. They broke into his home. He was spied on and threatened. But Lohmeier did not back down, so career officers kicked him out.
Then President Trump made him Undersecretary of the Air Force so he could solve the problem. When the stakes were high, this guy stood up. Don't miss Call Sign Courage, the Matt Lohmeyer story. Watch it and buy the DVD. at SalemNow dot com.
Salem Now dot com. Yeah. My doctor retired. And Dylan, I know that means nothing to you as a young person, but when you get to a certain age, That's pretty traumatic when your doctor retires and you got to have a new doctor. Because this is the doctor who you've always liked, who knows you, right?
They do all the, I mean, They tell you you gotta lose weight. You gotta, you know, do this or that, or you share a lot of information with your doctor. I do, so I can understand that.
So now he's retired. That's tough.
So you have to find someone else to share all your, and it's terrible. I can't find a single doctor who's taking patients in Memphis. I I'm having I may have to go to Arkansas. Or maybe Mississippi. Yeah.
It's crazy. I don't know if anybody else has that problem. I mean, our medical, look, the Obama administration destroyed the greatest. Medical world on the planet, which was right here in the good old US of A, Obamacare gutted the healthcare industry. And it's it's crazy.
Even having a doctor You know, let's just say I got the flu. This is terrible. This actually happened. Had the flu. And they I think I did.
And they would call they'd they said, We can see you in a couple of months. And I'm like, In a couple of months, I'll be dead. But that's kind of like health care in America, thanks to Barack Hussein Obama. Unbelievable. All right, let's go to Charles in North Carolina.
WSIC wants to weigh on an H-1B visas. Hi, Charles. What's going on? Hey, Todd. Sakai this week Like you, I have found myself disagreeing with President Trump on two major things.
Number one is these the number of foreign exchange students, especially from China and the United States. that Laura Ingram pointed out the other night. and then these H one B visas. Um I think that All of these H1B theses need to be revoked. And those jobs need to be opened up to American citizens, qualified American citizens.
And yes, there's a lot of Americans under the age of forty that are lazy. And that's another that's that we can that's another issue, but there's a lot that are not, and they're looking for an opportunity. And I don't care, just like Laura Inglam said, so what if we have to shut down submitting the universities? As you've alluded to so many times on your show, Todd. They're nothing more than indoctrination factories that are destroying the very fabric of this country.
And I just think that President Trump Yeah. By backing off of this, It's just kind of a slap in the face to the America First Movement and people like myself. And there doesn't seem to be any appetite in Washington to cut federal spending right now. And there's a lot of young people out there that are just feeling hopeless. They can't buy a home.
They can't move out of mom and dad's house. They just don't see the economic the American dream. And the fastest way that you can lower prices, lower inflation, and everything. It's to kick. Every single one of these illegal aliens out of this country.
Which is going to lower the demand for housing, it's going to lower the demand for health care, it's going to lower the demand for food, it's going to lower the demand for everything. And it'll bring prices down, and it'll give Americans a fighting chance. There are at this moment between fifty-two and sixty million foreign born people in America. That's what they're saying. Those are the stats.
This is from the Center for Immigration Studies. This is insanity. Charles. And again, I've got nothing against legal immigration, but it has to make sense for America. And if you take those, let's just say it's, we'll highball it here: 60 million foreign-born people.
We don't know how many of those are legal, how many of those are here legally. But even if, say, half of them are illegal, and I think it's probably more than that, but just for the sake of the argument, you remove thirty million people out of the country, that's thirty million people who are no longer reliant upon the taxpayers for a handout. Exactly, they're no longer relying on the taxpayers for a handout. You'd be able to call your doctor and go not wait months to get a doctor's visit. You'd be able to go to the emergency room and see somebody if you had a real emergency.
And just think how many more houses that's going to open up. Because every one of these illegals, guys, they have to live someplace, right? They have to eat something. They're buying electricity. If you remove all those people, I mean, just the laws of supply and demand.
dictate the prices are going to come down and things are going to be more affordable again. But aside from slashing spending, which I don't think anybody in Washington has an appetite to do. Uh That's that's the only alternative. But these foreigners died and It's like 15% of the population. And the difference between 150 years ago or 125 years ago, when those immigrants arrived at Ellis Island, it's opposed to now.
They had a desire to assimilate. to adopt our language, our culture, our values. These ones coming in today, and I see it all the time, particularly these ones coming in from India. They have in in the Middle East, they have no desire to assimilate. They expect us to adapt to them.
And that's just not the way it works.
Well, it's not the way it works, Charles. But unfortunately, they they are just simply not assimilating. And I don't think there's any call to assimilate, certainly not coming from the universities where they're actually teaching students that we are the problem. Predominantly, white people in America, we're the problem. We're the, we're the.
We are the invaders and we should go back to where we came from. And that's always intrigued me, that question, because that's the whole argument of these, you know, the indigenous peoples: we are the colonialists, we are the invaders, we got to go back to where we came from. Charles, I'm not quite sure where I came from. I don't know where do I land.
Well, I mean, I know my ancestry, but Todd, I have no desire to go back to Europe. I mean, there's a reason that our ancestors left Europe. They wanted to get away from the political and religious persecution and you know chart our own course. And we built our forefathers built a strong nation. that we inherited.
And I see our politicians, and I think a lot of people do, especially young Americans, they just see it that they see it all b being thrown away. and they're not going to have their bite at the apple. And I tell you, if Trump does not get this right, and I think he's the only figure that can thread the needle here and navigate it. But We're going to have a red wave in 2026, but it's not going to be the red wave you and I hope it's going to be. It's going to be the red wave of socialism and Marxism.
We got to we can either tackle this problem with a left hook or a right hook. And I say we tackle it with the a right hook. By offering people young Americans a pathway forward and just following through on what President Trump ran on and what the Republican Party ran on and quit giving in to the donor class And all these globalists that have put us in this predicament. All right, Charles, good call. Appreciate you.
And I hope it doesn't get to that point, but that is where this is all going. And there is the socialism issue is going to get worse and worse. And you watch and see how many there will be a it's really not even a third party. I think the Socialists will, in fact, take over the Democrat Party. And it's going to get radicalized very quickly, probably within the next couple of election cycles.

Well, um Our good buddy Will Cain over at Fox. Did a brilliant job exposing what's really going on here. Cut number eight, please. What is an H-1B visa? Follow me over to the wall.
H-1B visas are a mechanism of legal immigration that is supposed to bring in skilled workers into the United States. They allow for U.S. employers to hire foreign professionals in specialty occupations. What are those occupations?
Well, they're mostly in the fields of tech, engineering, medicine, finance, IT. It requires that a bachelor's degree accompany that worker or higher education in a specified field.
Now, here's how it works: an employer sponsors a foreign worker, and they can sponsor that visa for up to three years and then extend it to six years. Workers can apply for permanent residency later. There is a visa cap: 85,000 new visas each year.
Now, of those 85,000, those are only new. Visas, new H-1Bs. About 400,000 every year are approved. Most of those are renewals, showing that they don't just stay for three years, but are renewed and extended past that timeframe. Currently, there are supposedly around 700,000 H-1B visa holders in America.
Now, Who is coming to this country to take these high-skilled jobs? As I've mentioned, STEM fields dominate the occupations, and most of the workers come from India. In fact, 70% of H-1B visa holders come from India, another 10 to 15% come. from China. 80% of H-1B visa approvals are for entry-level or junior level jobs.
That's a little hard to stomach when we hear that we're not talented enough or that we're not skilled enough for these jobs when you consider that most of these jobs are actually at entry or junior level jobs. And it's definitely to the benefit of corporations, tech companies that can hire. Foreign workers, trust me on this, cheat. Cheaper than American workers. This is laid out, by the way, by billionaire tech entrepreneur Palmer Lucky.
There's so much H-1B abuse. You would not believe what I saw when I was in Silicon Valley. It is insane. It's obviously a program to try and replace U.S. workers with basically slave labor that can't ever escape.
H-1B abuse is crazy. And it's not just Silicon Valley. The Labor Department launched at least 175 investigations targeting potential abuses in the H-1B visa program. They alleged some foreign workers with advanced degrees paid less. than what the job description said, that of course not only deprives American workers of that job who have to have the going rate, but it drives down wages for visa holders and American workers.
All right, again, that was Will Kane from over at Fox sort of laying out the intel that he has on this. All that to say, ladies and gentlemen, That we have some decisions to make in this country, and it by and large, when you look at the younger people in this nation, many of them have great degrees, they can't get jobs because of the H-1P visa holders. They got to go, it's really that simple. All right, I got to take a break here: 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show.

All right, crazy story out of New York State where a A teenager was trying to start a Jesus club on campus, but was told by school administrators that Jesus was not inclusive.
So, therefore, she could not. She could not have the club, so we had this young lady's attorney join us last night on my Newsmax show. Let's take a listen.
Well, Jesus is not welcome in a New York high school because educators say our Lord is not inclusive. Kennedy Cannellis is a student at Plattsburgh Senior High School, and she petitioned leadership to start a Jesus club. School leaders signed off on another student secular club, but the Jesus Club was rejected. Kennedy was told the Jesus Club was not inclusive, so they recommended a more generic name like the Faith Club. The notion that Jesus is not inclusive is simply not true.
I mean, the Bible clearly quotes our Lord as offering a personal invitation to everyone: Come unto me, all who are weary and burdened, I will give you rest.
Well, the American Center for Law and Justice, now representing Kennedy and attorney Nathan Molker, joins us. Nathan, good to have you this evening. This is the craziest story I've heard.
So, Jesus Club is not inclusive. Yeah, school administrators told our client that, sorry. We don't like the name Jesus Club. Students won't feel welcome when they hear that name.
So instead, why don't you think of a different name and come back to us, and then maybe we can approve your club. And the sad thing is. This situation is not in any way unusual. We're dealing with multiple schools across the country that are doing similar things, telling students their Christian clubs aren't inclusive enough. We had another case actually also in New York recently where students were ordered to tear down their Christian posters because they had a cross on them.
So school administrators are becoming more and more free to try to silence Christian clubs, and that is not the law, and it's not acceptable.
So I understand the family actually tried to talk with school leaders, but got nowhere.
So what are you guys doing in response to that? Yeah, so this poor family went through months and months and months of just trying to get a Christian club off the ground. Just a simple Christian club.
So this actually started all the way back in February. When they began the process, Kennedy joined this school and they said, okay, we want to start a Christian club. And they were told, sorry, it's too late in the year.
Now they've come back this fall and they've had to go through multiple delays. Kennedy's had to make multiple presentations to different school officials to explain what the club is and what it's for. Multiple meetings time and time again.
So we sent a legal letter on behalf of Kennedy and her family last week. We sent it this past Thursday and it's Wednesday now. And so, what we gave the school district to is till tomorrow, till Thursday, to try to resolve this situation. And so, the school district has actually gotten back to us. They have informed us that they that they're having a school board meeting tomorrow.
So if we don't see really meaningful resolution tomorrow, I'd anticipate that this school district is going to be facing us in court, frankly, because they've just delayed and delayed. And so this really is kind of their last chance to make this right. All right, and so let me see if I understand this because there is something called the equal access. Act.
So if you've got a secular club on campus, you've got to have a Christian club on campus as well. You can't deny one and have the other. Is that right? Yeah, that's exactly it.
So in the Equal Access Act Congress codified. a rule that pretty much matches with what the First Amendment requires too. which is that if schools allow student clubs Schools don't necessarily have to have student clubs, but if they do, They can't discriminate against their religious clubs, frankly against the Christian clubs. What schools must not do is have one set of rules for Christian clubs and one set of rules for non-Christian clubs.
So we see that sometimes with schools just banning Christian clubs, right? But other times schools do the kinds of things they do here. where there's one set of rules if you want to start a club. And it's a knitting club or a circle club or a chess club or whatever, then we'll approve you quickly. And oh, that sounds great.
And go right ahead. But if you want a Christian club, you're going to have to jump through more hoops. You're going to have to go through more approvals. You're going to have to agree to this, that, and the. In other words, school districts often make it substantially harder and more difficult to actually have that Christian club.
So they may not say, oh, we're banning all Christian clubs. Instead, they make it difficult. They put obstacles in the way of Christian clubs. And that's what we're really focused on here with what our client has experienced. All right, Nick.
Well, there you go. What a crazy story. And the the concerning part of all of this, these kinds of things are still happening at many schools across the country, and we've really got to crack down. Again, abolish the Department of Education. That is step number one.
Return control of local schools to local communities. And we're going to be able to put a stop to pretty much a majority of this anti-Christian, anti-American nonsense. It really is that simple. Hey, during the break, I would love it if you would go to my website, ToddSterns.com, check out all of our great stories and content. We actually have the story and the video of the interview you just heard.
It's all posted there at ToddSterns.com. We'll be right back, everybody. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. Sets us, that's right. I know.
Mr. Marrick.
Well, hello everybody. Welcome to hour two of the big show. Great to have you with us today. Our telephone number, by the way, is 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-59.
Two six.
Well, a lot of stuff is beginning to percolate. As we start looking at the midterm elections. It was hard to get a good read on the mood of the electorate just in last week's elections. Certainly not good for Republicans. But again, most of those are local issues.
But right now, the president seems to be heading in the right direction. Obviously, the H-1B issue is going to be a factor, as well as deportations. I mean, the administration's done a phenomenal job literally shutting down the border.
So we're not having people coming in, but we are lagging behind the numbers that were projected as far as deportations go. Anyway, a lot happening in a lot of states. And I want to go to our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line and welcome the Texas Comptroller on with us today, Kelly Hancock. Kelly, hope you're doing well. Been great, Todd.
You know, I know that you guys have been up to a lot of good stuff, first and foremost, ending the DEI program. Yeah, we recently did that. You know, I took office as a controller, which is essentially the state's. Chief Financial Officer. We're responsible for all grants, all revenue coming to the state.
Um I'll Procurements that take place. But when I took over the office, There were some issues in regarding our hub program, historically underutilized businesses. Because of some of the rulings lately in higher education regarding our Constitution, which is kind of important to a lot of us. And in Texas, we just don't want any discriminatory practices whatsoever, especially from state government. And so we suspended that program.
And what we do, we essentially write the rules for the rest of the agencies with the governor's support, Governor Abbott. had issued a letter addressing DEI concerns. We felt like that there were those concerns within our hub program. And so we've suspended that program, which suspends it throughout the state of Texas in every agency. Simply because we want to operate fairly.
We don't want to be discriminated. Tory in our practices as government in the state of Texas, and we felt like that was a move that would be in alignment with that as well as the Constitution. I think one of the things that would certainly surprise me, and I suspect my listeners as well, is that the state of Texas actually had a DEI hub program to begin with.
Well, most states have a hub program and they don't correlate it with DEI. And the reality is, it's very much aligned with DEI.
So when I took over the agency at the governor's request on july first, we began looking at it Uh Mm-hmm. With the intent of making sure that we're in compliance with the Constitution and we didn't have discriminatory practices.
So that's where we are today, and I think we're in a much better spot. I know that you've been helping with a new Texas Doge effort. Tell us about those efforts. Yes. In fact, that actually started during COVID when we were trying to find ways to get our economy going.
So back then, I was chair of the Senate Business and Commerce Committee and working with Governor Abbott And look at Under those emergency rules, we just went through and deraged government. And in our session after that, we had the largest doging of Texas. uh in the history of Texas where we got government out of the way.
Well this session as a senator, I help support and And we pass. Texas Regulatory Efficiency Act, which is in the governor's office, and we'll be working with them providing the data. To make sure that we continue to whittle away. And Todd, really, if you look at our hub program, Look, there are people in every agency related to the hope program. That is the first step.
In the Texas doge as we're moving along. And so, look forward to working with the governor on that as we continue to make sure that Texas. is the best place to do business in the nation. and continue to grow our economy, which we've done and led the nation in that in the past several years, which has allowed us to be the eighth largest economy in the world ahead of Russia and Canada. I'm curious.
I know that you guys are doing school choice there. There have been a lot of concerns from people that this school choice would end up funding things like Muslim schools, Islamic schools. That's been a big issue in Tennessee. How are you guys dealing with that issue there in Texas? Yes, so we're learning from places like Tennessee.
We're not the first ones to do this. We are doing the largest program. A billion dollars will be provided to Texas Educational Freedom accounts. And so Every program, everyone that wants to participate from the provider side, from the education side. Has to be approved through our office, and they have to have Certification.
And so we will control that to participate on the provider side. It has to be approved by our office. And then those will be presented on a platform that then those families that choose and are selected for this Education Freedom account will select those providers for the twenty six, twenty seven school year.
So as someone who's supported school choice for thirty years, even as a thirteen year school board member, I'm excited about it and thrilled to Your beauty. kind of the authors of that in our agency. Kelly Hancock is the Texas state comptroller and joining us on our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line today. Also, you guys have been very instrumental in getting grants for law enforcement to work with ICE.
So many big cities and blue states are basically banning local law enforcement from helping ICE or any other government agents. You guys are doing the exact opposite.
Well, exactly. I mean exact literally the exact opposite.
So we passed this legislative session requiring law enforcement to work with us and recognizing that that could. create some additional expenses, our office will be providing grants beginning the first of the school year. for immigration enforcement grants that will start in January. In fact, I office just got through passing out rural law enforcement grants That uh Tried to address concerns and funding in rural parts of the state of Texas, which is a huge part of our geography and vital to the state of Texas. We just finished passing out some of those grants, and we'll start the grants for immigration enforcement in January.
Well, I like that. I think it's a great idea, and I know that the good people there in Texas certainly appreciate your efforts. Mr. Hancock, really appreciate you joining us today on the show. Absolutely appreciate it.
Got it, Kelly Hancock, everybody. He is the Texas Comptroller. Good guy and great, great intel there.
So glad they're doing a lot of good stuff. Down in the Lone Star State. 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. So the Ag Secretary, Brooke Rollins.
made a jaw dropping announcement. They only go on Fox News.
So that's I don't know. The administration has like an exclusivity thing with Fox only. Here is Brooke Rollins explaining What they have just discovered in the SNAP program. Take a listen. And 20 plus others did not, and we're suing.
We're in the litigation right now. But of the 29 that complied, what we have found is staggering. Half a million people getting benefits two times under the same name. 5,000 dead people. 80% of the able-bodied Americans, meaning they can work, they don't have small children at home, they're not taking care of an elderly parent.
They can work and they choose not to work, of course, because they're getting significant benefits from the taxpayer.
So this light, Laura, that has now been shined on what is perhaps one of the most corrupt, dysfunctional programs in American history that we are working now, very big announcements coming next week on this. We are cracking down. We now have a plan to fix it. And we're really, really excited about doing that for the American people.
Well, I like to hear that. But again, this is just insane. 5,000 dead people getting stamp benefits, but the other number, and there are two other numbers, 500,000 people. getting double snap benefits.
So instead of, you know, two or three thousand, they're getting four or six thousand dollars. It's insane. But here's the bigger issue. That's only 29 states. Only 29 states turned in that information.
The blue states are not willing to do that at all, ladies and gentlemen. And so that tells me we could have just as many, if not more, people that are basically grifting off of the taxpayers' dollars. Unbelievable. We've got a clean house. And again, there are people who genuinely need stamp benefits.
No doubt about it. No doubt about it. But an overwhelming majority of people in this country, I got big problems with that. Big problems. 901-260-5926, Joel in North Carolina.
Wants to weigh in on Tucker Carlson. Hi, Joel. What's going on? Hey, Todd, that's a great show, by the way. I listen to it whenever I can.
You know, I think you guys are on the wrong track with this Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes thing. Um I'm a pretty conservative guy and I hang out with a lot of conservative people. I don't know anybody that's ever heard of Nick Wente's number one Tucker Carlson to me You know, he's a he's a a a news guy. I like a lot of what he says, but a lot of stuff he takes with a grain of salt. I think we got much bigger problems than these two people in the Democrats trying to overthrow the government of the United States, with the support of these left wing judges I think we got to get on track to get off of this Tucker Carlson thing, to be honest with you.
I got to tell you, we haven't talked about Tucker Carlson today.
Well, I know you talked about them before, and I just figured I'd call in and make a comment. Yeah, no, I mean, I'm glad you did, but again, it's important because. Millions and millions of conservatives follow Tucker, and I think we're going to be stunned to realize the staggering numbers of young conservatives that are following Nick Fuentez. And it's a conversation, and I think it's a conversation that we've got to have. And, Joel, the reality is that you have anti-Semitism within the ranks of the Republican Party now, and it is growing.
And I think that's something that needs to be addressed.
Well, as I said, I think the bigger issue is the attempted overthrow of the government by the Democrats with their judge friends. Oh, well, no doubt about that. And we talk about all those issues. We've got a three-hour show, Joel. You'd be surprised at how much we can pack into a three-hour show.
But as a matter of fact, I had gotten some messages from people saying, how come we haven't focused more on Tucker Carlson?
Well, look, Tucker's, that's his own show. Tucker's doing his thing. You never know what Tucker's going to believe one day from the next. The guy keeps changing his positions on the issues. On this program, we don't change.
That's the reality of it. I know exactly what I believe. Joel, appreciate that call. We do have to take a quick break here, folks. 901-260-5926.
This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, welcome back, everybody. This is the Consterns. Radio show.
So Ken Cuccinelli weighing in on the H1. The Visa program. Cut number four, please.
Okay, with me, Ken Cuccinelli, former acting deputy DHS Secretary during the previous Trump administration. Ken, great to see you tonight. I know you actually helped push forward the reforms of the H-1B visa program during Trump I. We're going to get into that in a moment. But your reaction to the President's comments on the angle.
This week, and some of the reaction, which has gotten, you know, put it bluntly. really heated on the right. about what the President said about the Chinese students and about the H-1Bs.
Well, I think on the Chinese students, it isn't just the Chinese. You're correct in your monologue, and I would extend it to say that. Countering China is one of the rare areas where you can get pretty substantial bipartisan support. In Congress, even though they haven't been very active, they're supportive of being tough with China. Very rare area of bipartisan agreement.
The President, as you noted, has been more successful, not just with China, but around the world, in both trade and diplomacy. My joke for his Nobel Peace Prize is: how many people? Peace agreements does Donald Trump have to get to get the Nobel Peace Prize? One more than he actually gets, because they hate him more than they believe in peace. And he is a peace-through strength peace achiever in that arena.
But the H-1B subject is very, very sensitive because Congress, both sides of the aisle, is really against the American worker on this and has been for decades. They favor the big tech companies and the other big companies. You rattled off a few who have fired more Americans and hired more foreigners this past year. And I and every other American asks, well then Isn't that a failure of this system? I think the President's goal.
zeroed in on by the Secretary of the Treasury that you quoted there. is a noble goal. To bring in super talented people from other parts of the world to prepare America. To rebuild and carry forward, you use shipbuilding as an example. There are others on a five-year basis.
Okay, but that is not what H-1Bs have been. They have been mass-scale, low-level, middle-class, displacing jobs. And it's been very detrimental to America and Americans. And that's why the reaction, I think. All right, there you go.
He's not wrong at all. And we're going to have to really push Congress on this one. Oh, by the way, I've got to get to this story on a bright part.
Now They've uh had Border Patrol. They've been in Chicago. They've been crushing it. Since they've been boots on the ground there, homicides down 16%, shootings down 35%, robberies down 41%, carjackings down 48%, transit crime down Down 20%. In other words, It's kind of safe to be in Chicago right now.
But not for long, because a Chicago judge Has ordered the release of hundreds of criminal illegal aliens. that have been arrested by ICE. Judge Jeffrey Cummings Appointed to the bench by Joe Biden. Has ordered the release of hundreds of these criminals that were picked up during Operation Midway Blitz. The judge again saying that they were arrested in violation of a consent decree.
and has given the Department of Justice until November 19th to release The illegals.
Well, I would just tell the Justice Department to ignore the judge. Ignored the judge's ruling. This is insane. The judge said the illegals needed equitable relief. And that their rights have been violated by immigration agents.
They got no rights, they're here illegally. Back to where you came from. You know what? We'll send the judge to. The judge's ruling says that.
Illegals can pay a $1,200 or $1,500 bond. and accept some sort of monitoring. And then be released pending the outcome of their immigration proceedings. What proceedings? Here's how this needs to go, folks.
I don't understand why this is so difficult for the government. Here's how it goes: you get picked up and you're an illegal. All right, great. You go before the judge. The judge says, Do you have any evidence that you're an American citizen?
Oh, no, senior judge. No, no. No ID, no speaking English. All right, great. See you later.
You're gone. It's really that simple. You got no documentation, boom, you're out of here. How difficult is that for? I mean, we spend all this money, all this time, all this effort, and it's really very simple.
At least to me it is. All right, gotta take a break. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. May I just say something here?
In just a few days, homicides are gonna be back up 16%, shootings up 35%. Carjacking's up 48%. in Chicago. All right, very rarely do I hear righteous indignation up on Capitol Hill, but man, did we hear it yesterday. Congressman John Rose, he's from Tennessee, and he's running to be governor.
Against Marshall Blackburn, and there's going to be a fierce, a fierce Republican primary. And he's pretty fired up because The Senate, and my sources are telling me that John Thune did this, and he did it without anybody else's knowledge.
Okay. But anyway, that's the party line, apparently, is that Thune did this without anybody knowing. But he was going to give a number of senators the right to sue the federal government because their phones were tapped during the whole FBI investigation into J Six.
Now keep in mind, nobody else can sue the government. You, a civilian, could not do what Jon Thune wanted to give the Senate Republicans, two of which happened to be the senators from Tennessee, Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn.
So, anyway, nobody knew about this inserted into the clean resolution. It's so offensive. That the majority leader would do something like this. It's just outrageous. Anyway, here's Congressman Rose, cut number six.
Mr. Speaker, I rise today to oppose the Senate's provision that allows senators to make financial gain off illegal government surveillance. Three things can be true at once, Mr. Speaker. The first truth is this: the shutdown has to end.
The American people and countless Tennesseans I represent. Uh Are suffering and experiencing real pain. This record-breaking Schumer democratic shutdown was completely avoidable, and it was completely carried out for political purposes. The second truth is that the last administration, led by Joe Biden and his autopen, unfairly surveilled conservatives and conservative members of Congress. That included sitting United States Senators.
Yet, Mr. Speaker, the third thing I would note is that the American taxpayer has suffered enough because of the last administration. No one in this body should support allowing senators to sue and collect from taxpayers because the FBI went rogue under President Biden. But don't get me wrong, the overreach is more than troubling. It's unfathomable that the Department of Justice was weaponized in this way.
I fully support holding those radical agents accountable and the ongoing investigations into their misdeeds. Yet no elected official should profit from the political calculation of left-wing bureaucrats and judges. Mr. Speaker, the folks I represent are still reeling from historic Bidenflation, the effects of the border crisis, and the regulatory agenda of the last administration. It is shameful to ask them to shoulder the burden of paying U.S.
senators a half a million dollars or more for those misdeeds. With that, I yield back, Mr. Speaker. Wow. All right.
Thank you very much, Congress. Let's go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Say hello to our good friend Luke Symbol. Luke, uh, what do you make of all of this? God, um, you know, first of all.
Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with the gubernatorial candidates here in Tennessee, and John Rose does not typically get. That's animated, and I'm hearing a lot of positive response from folks. Here in West Tennessee, listening to his words, saying, you know, we wish he was. Animated like this more often. I think he is hitting a nerve here and doing the right thing.
And it is very unfortunate that leader Thun inserted this into the otherwise what they're saying clean resolution.
However, Todd, you are making a very good point here. You've made it on social media. You're making it on the show today. If they insert something like this, quite offensively into the continuing resolution, what else are they inserting into the resol continuing resolution? And so it garners distrust Among The Republican or the populace against Republican senators right now, and it's very unfortunate.
And there's a saying: you know, I am a. I am a Republican, I am a conservative first. Through and through. And I always like to say, I never underestimate Republicans' ability to mess up the narrative. And unfortunately, here, we were winning the narrative.
We had one. the government shut down debate. we had we pointed out the hypocrisy of the Democrats They were using this for political gain. The Democrats were using this government shutdown for political gain. They were losing.
And suddenly now we're having to talk about this because somebody inserted it into the continuing resolution on the Senate side. They're saying it's leader soon. I don't know. Whatever staff member came up with this needs to be fired.
Well, uh the the the word we're getting is that the senator senator blackburn did not draft Or push the provision to be included in the CR.
So, my question is. Who did? Because that person needs to be removed from leadership. And shame on Jon Thune. And by the way, I know that Mike Johnson was caught off guard by all of this too.
Blackbird putting out a statement from her spokesperson. because John Rose is now calling on her to reconsider all of this. Here's the official statement from Blackburn's team. Senator Blackburn's plan has always been to seek a declaratory judgment, not monetary damages. to prevent leftists from violating the constitutional rights of conservatives.
Yeah, I get it. I mean, she's got to put out a statement here. The problem is, and if I'm Blackburn, I'm enraged right now because this does cause a problem for her on the campaign trail now.
Well, you're right. And it gave her opponent, John Rose, a talking point that he is seizing on. And look, I don't fault him for seizing on the talking point. Anybody on any campaign would say to seize the moment, and he's doing a good job at seizing the moment. And you're right.
I have no problem with allowing U.S. senators certain access into whether that's suing the federal government for information, whether that's the PNA documents as to what exactly the federal government was doing, listening in on elected U.S. senators during the Biden administration, going after Republican senators. That is totally inappropriate. It is wrong.
My problem was two things. Number one, just inserting this quickly into the continuing resolution garners distrust amongst the populace towards Republican senators. And The fact that there are these monetary damages accompanying it. And that's why I say whatever staffer wrote that language, worked on it, pushed it. I'm not kidding, Todd, when I tell you, when I first Yeah.
Hit hack. Yesterday, and then I saw John Rose's comments. I honestly wondered if a staffer was purposefully trying to sabotage Republicans on the talking point. That's how that's how poor, uh, poorly this went over. And so, um, I agree with you.
I think Senator Blackburn should push back against it, uh, talking about the declaratory declaratory judgment. And if I were she, I would be very upset with whoever put this in the continuing resolution because now suddenly her opponent has a talking point. You know, nobody across the state, a lot of folks don't know who John Rose is, but I've had three people now this morning text me or call me, or I was at work earlier and say, Hey, you know, that's John Rose guy, I really liked his comments.
So it just gave her opponent something to see about. If I'm Blackburn and I had nothing to do with this, I'm literally stampeding towards TV cameras and microphones. That's what I'm doing because this is insane. And shame on Jon Thune for putting her in a very difficult position now. It's just a bad thing.
Luke, I want to switch gears because we've got so much to talk about. And by the way, Luke Symbol joining us on our Patriot Mobile newsmaker line. Luke, how big of a deal is the administration's I don't even know if it's their position, but their take on the H-1B visas. It's is it is it o as off kilter as I think it is? It is very Very much out of touch with the MAGA base, and not only the MAGA base, that is out of touch with what Americans have been crying out for.
work. at least a decade. When Donald, when President Trump rode down that golden escalator in 2015 and gave his, it was an immigration. Speech to announce his run for presidency. He did what nobody else thought possible, and he won that primary despite All opposition, and then he won the presidency of the United States in 2016 on the immigration issue, putting Americans first.
And unfortunately, whether it was bad hires or the swamp, it really was the swamp of people still carryovers from previous administrations, carryovers from the old guard Republican Party that has been out of touch for a long time in his first administration. He was not able to get done what he needed to get done. And the second, this Trump 2.0 administration, I've had so many pinch-me moments of I can't believe this is the guy I voted for in the primary in 2015. This is the guy I defended when there were other Republicans running and the old guard Republicans were all against him. This was the guy I defended in 2015.
This is what I voted for. And now, suddenly, this week, To hear the talking points on H-1B visas completely out of touch with where the American people are at. We are tired. of foreign labor replacing American labor Period. whether that is poor trade deals, which ships jobs and manufacturing overseas.
or whether that is foreigners taking our jobs Here in America, we need a complete and total immigration moratorium. We have the highest. Foreign. We have the highest rate of foreign born living in the country right now since that we've had since the early twentieth century when we completely shut down immigration in nineteen twenty five. We need to do it again in 2025.
And I really believe that the administration is out of touch on this. And we've seen other administration officials scrambling to try to clean it up. And you know what? I've also been thinking about is I miss. Charlie Kirk.
Because Charlie understood this issue very well. And in one of his last tweets before he died, he specifically addressed H-1B visas, saying that they are being used inappropriately. We need to shut the program down and focus on hiring Americans. And he would have called President Trump. President Trump took his call, and he would have called President Trump and said, respectfully, Mr.
President, that is not where the American first base is. And what I challenge elected Republicans this issue is so popular amongst everyday Americans, this hiring Americans first, focusing on America first, talk about it when you are running. That is how we will win. If you want to win in the midterms, that is what you need to run on. And I am Very scared, Todd.
that this affordability that everybody is talking about, that the Democrats are going to go back to their position from twenty years ago and start talking about this immigration issue if Republicans don't seize it like they've done the past In 2016 and 2024, we're going to lose. And so Republicans need to keep pushing the immigration issue. And I really hope President Trump comes out and clarifies, nope, we're focusing on Americans First. You know, it's interesting. You mentioned the affordability issue.
And one of our great conservative leaders, young conservative leaders in South Carolina, sent me this graph. Taking us back to 1950 until present day, the percentage of 30-year-olds who are both married and homeowners back in the 1950s, that number was well over 50%. Right now, it is Almost 10%. I mean, it's been a significant drop-off since 1990, by the way. That's when the drop-off really happened, and those numbers have been plunging.
And you do wonder what's going on in our culture where you've got hardly anybody going out there getting married, buying a house these days.
Well, it's just too expensive and That is a major issue that immigration touches when you bring in mass. low skilled labor into the country. It keeps wages down. And suddenly, our most vulnerable people are having to compete against jobs. With foreign labor that has come in and compete for housing.
You look at this recent election in New York City, where between 40 and 50 percent of those voting. We're born in another country. I can't I mean, it just it makes me irate, but between forty percent and fifty percent voting, we're born in another country. And you think about Queens, You can't afford to buy a house in Queens, for goodness sakes, where thirty years ago, a middle class, you get married in your twenties, you buy a house in Queens, you work hard, you pay it off, you live the American dream. That is impossible now.
Housing has skyrocketed because of the mass migration That has occurred in the New York City area, and now we're getting communism because of it. And that is happening in communities across the country. This immigration issue is the issue. In which it touches every other issue in this country, housing costs. a healthcare, crime, it touches everything.
And the American people have been crying out for reduced immigration. And we need to shut down H-1B. We need to clarify, the Congress needs to clarify that birthright citizenship is not the intention behind the citizenship clause in the 14th Amendment. And we need to end chain migration. We need an immigration moratorium.
Let's assimilate the ones already here. If it's even possible, I pray it's not too late. But this is the issue of our day. And President Trump needs to listen to the base and the American first base. And you've been doing a great job of this, Todd, of getting the word out.
We've got to keep speaking about it. All right, Luke, we've got to leave it there. I appreciate your great analysis, as always. Luke Symbol on our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Thank you, Luke.
What a mess. It can all be fixed, but we've got to stay focused here. And let's just hope and pray. That President Trump starts listening to the right people there inside the White House. All right, got to take a break.
We'll be right back. All right, let's go back to the phones. Ron, listening to us on KYKN in Salem, Oregon. Hi, Ron. What's going on?
Well, I'm going to tell you two things. Pay attention. We need to get rid of the 1979 law. That Carter and what's McCallet caused this labor shortage over the last 46 years. Because that way they can't justify using H1BV.
Remember, they were talking about, oh, we're picking fruit. We got enough labor and then you had Mr. Pritz Hollings, the predecessor before Lizzie Graham in South Carolina, said we need to start concealing 30 years ago. This is why we're in the rut, my brother. And they're getting ready I'm giving and Trump needs to forsake them and listen and give us America first.
Here's something else is going on. I just went to a grocery chain store in Salem and they are phasing out the pennies. The banks are withholding pennies. And in my opinion, they're trying to control us, trying to force us back door, like what they've done in England, on the digital currency. And I ain't lying.
you c everything's rounded up to the nearest nickel without even being posted on the on the shelves.
Well, my understanding was, Ron, the reason they're doing away with the penny is because it cost more than a penny to make a penny. You tell me they can't use recycled steel to make their pennies or aluminum, give me a break. But as long as it's a currency, it could be could be even puka shells made out of pennies crushed enough. But overall The main support is that they are trying I think our President, I think the our various leaders that's trying to do what's right, I think they're being harassed by the swamp creatures. And they don't care.
And I never this is the first time the President has ever backed off our American First agenda. And we got to remember, he can't do it by himself. We the people in your starting in your neighborhoods, starting in your stores, your businesses, we got to stand up and call light to light like our parents did in the seventies during the Carter administration when they raised fuel prices, when inflation was going double digit rampant. But we have to be proactive, not reactive. We must go through and hold our ground.
I don't care if you're Democrat, Republican. It's all about keeping our liberties. And just like Sean Adamson said, or Ben. Benjamin Franklin would say: if you forsake your liberty for security, you deserve neither. Yeah, well, that's what I was shouting that from the rooftops during the aftermath of 9-11 because we completely surrendered our civil liberties back then.
And now you're getting manhandled going to the airport. It's not a good situation. Ron, thanks for the call, my friend. Good to hear from you. Yeah, it costs three and it costs 3.69 cents to make a single penny.
That's So it doesn't make any sense at all. All right, hang tight, everybody. Our three Congressman John Rose is going to be here. Also, Lee Strobel. Got a brand new booked out.
The Case for Miracles: Investigating Evidence for the Supernatural. That's going to be interesting. We'll be right back. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's conservative blowtorch. Right.
I love Love is American. Touch. Star. You said earlier that you would repeal that FBI provision that's in the bill right now. Do you have assurances from Leader Thune that he will bring it up in the Senate?
Well, I did call Leader Thune this morning. I want to say that he is a principled leader. I've enjoyed working with him. We've had a great working relationship and a good friendship. He's a trustworthy, honest broker.
And that's why I was so surprised when we found out about that provision. It was put in our clean CR at the last moment. I'm just to be honest. I'm very transparent with you all. I was very angry about it.
I was. And a lot of my members called me and said, did you know about it? We had no idea. That was dropped in at the last minute. And I did not appreciate that, nor did most of the House members.
Many of them are very angry about that.
So we will be bringing that up. We'll probably pass it on suspension early next week, and we'll send it over to the Senate. I had a conversation with Leader Thune early this morning about it. I think he regretted the way it was done, and we had an honest conversation about that. I didn't ask him for any commitment at the time.
That time because I had a lot on my plate today, and I've been busy ever since that conversation we had earlier this morning. But I'm going to speak as truthfully to him as I am to all of you and tell you that I think that was way out of line. I don't. I don't think that was a smart thing to do. I don't think that was the right thing to do.
And the House is going to reverse it. We're going to repeal that. And I'm going to expect our colleagues in the Senate to do the same thing. All right, that was House Speaker Mike Johnson, and he mentioned that a number of Republican lawmakers were pretty angry about. what happened there with the poison pill snuck into the so-called clean resolution.
Among those most outraged, Congressman John Rose from Tennessee running for governor. Congressman, good to have you with us today on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line.
Well, Todd Starnes, thanks for having me on your show today. I appreciate the opportunity. I gotta I gotta be honest with you, Congressman. I didn't know that you could get that angry. I mean, you were fired up yesterday.
I was indeed. I am still very upset about this. Really, just. amazed, plummeted, if you will. I find it unfathomable, like my friend Chip Roy from Texas and Austin Scott from Georgia, who serve on the Rules Committee and Morgan Griffith, others in the House, You know, Greg Stuby was so upset that he voted against reopening the government.
And frankly, I considered that option. but just felt like we needed to get government reopened, that it didn't make sense to punish millions of Americans because the Senate had tried this very shady backroom bill At the eleventh hour, but it is just frustrating. This is the worst of what you see in Washington. This is the swamp epitomized. I I'm wondering how you guys found out that this thing had been snuck snuck into the the CR?
Well, we my team and I were looking through the language of the House bill. Obviously, when you get the or the Senate bill that had been sent over to us, we were looking through it. And of course, they usually highlight for you what there is to look for that are changes. And we had looked at all of those, and then we discovered this. And we, frankly, were in disbelief.
You know, when you see something like that and you have not been told that it's there, your first thought is: well, we must just be misunderstanding this. And the language is fairly arcane. I'm a lawyer, so trained to read these things. But when I first was reading, I was just like, this cannot be what it appears to be. But eventually we concluded it was.
Right along about that time, we were tuned into the rules committee that was meeting. And of course, others had begun to discover this. And so I was listening to what Chip Roy was saying and what Austin Scott was saying. And then I reached out to Speaker Johnson and shared with him my concerns. Frankly, Told the WIP team and the majority leader that I was considering voting against the CR if we didn't get this fixed.
I'm still very concerned and frustrated because, of course, as you know as well as anyone, Todd. There's no assurance that the Senate can actually get this thing reversed. I feel confident that we will. passed in the House a bill reversing it. But you know, there's no guarantees that the Senate will actually take this up and.
Given that they sent this to us, now I do have a commitment. I sat with the Speaker Johnson on the House floor last night, right before he gave his speech and right before we passed the CR, and he committed to me that he would He would attach this to must-pass legislation before the end of the year if it does not. get taken up in regular order by the Senate. You know, it's really shocking that the leader would do this. And the word we're hearing, and this I mean, this is what we're hearing, is that leader Thune did this without anybody else's knowledge or approval.
I don't know how to take that, but I will say this: it certainly does raise a trust issue now because this was supposed to be a clean CR.
Well, that's exactly right. And that is not what we're hearing here.
Now, certainly, Leader Thun did not alert. Speaker Johnson, the staff of appropriations over on the Senate side, I talked with the appropriations staff on the House side last night. They were completely caught off guard They had been negotiating the legislative branch appropriations for a week. And they were given no heads up by their corresponding staff members on the Senate side. But the rumor mill here in town, and I think it is just true, if you read this language, seven or eight pages of language in the bill, it is very intricately worded.
Lawyers were involved. I mean, this did not happen on the spur of the moment. This was being crafted and planned. very carefully. And of course, as you no doubt have reported, Only applies this right, this special right, to sue the American government and talk the taxpayers for this.
only provides that opportunity to these senators. And so not even House members, certainly not even the President of the United States, which who has no doubt suffered the greatest uh wrong from the weaponized Biden Justice Department. The president is not even allowed to do this.
So they are waiving sovereign immunity for senators, and in particular, for this. Affected eight senators, and it's really unconsciable.
Well, including one who you're running against for the governor's office, Marsha Blackburn. She has yet to post anything on her social media platforms about this. We do have a statement, and I want to read this. Senator Blackburn's plan, this is from her spokesperson, Senator Blackburn's plan has always been to seek declaratory judgment, not monetary damages, to prevent leftists from violating the constitutional rights of Conservatives.
Now you've been pretty outspoken. What do you want Marcia Blackburn to do here? I think she should commit not to seek not to sue and not to seek damages that would be paid by the American taxpayers. And frankly, I think all of the senators should make that commitment, even in advance of passing legislation that would reverse this really indefensible provision. And this is frankly, I mean, it's just so frustrating because we this is a classic case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, really.
This was Republicans, I think, because of the strategy of of Speaker Johnson, we were in a pos a wonderful position. And Leader Thune, they had held the line and we ultimately prevailed in getting the government reopened without of giving in to the ridiculous leftist progressive demands from Democrats and the Schumer shutdown was we were going to have the chance to end it on a very positive note, despite all the suffering and harm that the Democrats have done to the American people. And then to have something like this thrown in It's just the worst of government on display. That's why they call this place the swamp. these dirty backroom deals are really inexcusable.
And to know that this plan had been being carefully crafted, I think, is really frustrating. And so I think they should disavow, just as Senator Haggerty I think the statesman that he is, he made it very clear earlier today that he would not take advantage of this. I think all the senators should disavow this. There can be and by the way, I joined a letter to Attorney General Bondi earlier back in October when this first came to light, calling on the Attorney General to pursue the wrongdoers here and the the folks in the Biden Justice Department who had weaponized our justice system against so many Americans. And really disappointing here, the fact that nothing in this, if you were going to provide this sort of remedy, then why not let those who've been incarcerated after january sixth and so many others who've been victims of the weaponized Biden Justice Department, why should they all not have the chance to participate Instead of just setting up a provision that would allow eight senators to potentially see millions of dollars in windfall Paid for by the American taxpayer, a classic case of two wrongs don't make a right.
Wow. We've been monitoring a lot of the reaction, and it seems like an overwhelming majority of the voters seem to agree with your position on this, Congressman. I think so. I don't think this one is hard to sniff out. And I will say, Pod, and this was found sharp.
But I think this is what happens when you have career legislators who lose sight of what the average American citizen thinks and maybe are not able to To filter out what the right thing to do is. And so I think. we should get this stopped. I think the senators should disavow any intention. And I was so disappointed yesterday when several said they planned to sue.
And I hope they think better on that. And then I think, though, we have to get to the bottom of. How did this come through the Senate? And certainly, Leader Thune is ultimately responsible. Perhaps he was not watching closely, and maybe it got flipped by him.
But I think he probably was aware, and the fact that they didn't alert even Speaker Johnson to this. And Speaker Johnson is. As you know, a mild-mannered Christian man, and he was taught about this. I mean, he was visibly angry. When I spoke with him, even last night.
And so. His anger and his determination to turn this around is what ultimately convinced me. That I should go ahead and vote for the CR and work with Speaker Johnson to get this turned around.
Well, do you know if there were any, was there anything else slipped into the CR? Was this it?
Well, you uh you asked the million dollar question, in this case, maybe literally millions of dollar question, it the same thought has occurred to me, Todd, of what did we miss? what other shenanigans are there that we've yet to uncover And once trust is broken, my dad used to tell me it takes a long time to earn trust, it takes a second to lose it, and it takes a lifetime to reearn it. And we may find ourselves in that situation. And so, you know, we are continuing to look. As you know, reading through these bills is difficult because there are so many references to other sections of the United States Code and other legislation.
And so it can be very difficult to unwind what something does And so we may be days, weeks trying to figure out. Famous we remember Pelosi saying, we have to pass this to know what's in it. And even though we're doing our best to try to bought this stuff and thankfully we're able to spot this. before the bill came to the House floor for a vote, we didn't have a lot of time. And you do worry, what have we missed?
What else did they sneak into this bill? All right. We'll have to leave it there. Congressman John Rose, appreciate you coming on the show today. Thank you, Todd.
Thanks for your work. And I would just encourage you and others in the media to continue to dig on this question to try to figure out who were the individuals that crafted this and what was and Obviously their motive Seem to be obvious, but at the end of the day, we have to remember that the end result is that taxpayers hopefully will not be harmed. but could be harmed. And the goal here, of course, was to hold the Biden Justice Department officials accountable. And we need to get back to that.
And that should be the focus of our efforts. Yes, no doubt about that. All right, Congressman, thank you again, Congressman John Rose on our Patriot Mobile newsmaker line today. And here's what I'm thinking. If I'm Marsha Blackburn and I had nothing to do with this and I didn't know anything about it.
Uh I am raising holy you know what right now. John Thune should be running in fear from Capitol Hill. That's how insane this is. But anyway, Again, I'm curious, anybody up on Capitol Hill actually reading all of these bills before you guys are voting on them? I mean, that's the bigger question.
All right, we got to take a break here: 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, welcome back. This is the Todd Stern Show. Oh, this is funny.
A um There was sort of like a brew ha ha, if you will. On a Memphis TV station. They do the morning show on this TV station. And one of the news anchors called out one of the other news anchors because of what she was. Wearing.
Check this out, cut number one. A Memphis News anchor, Zanetta Lowe, got called out by her co-anchor, Kwamitra Wilbourne, on the air about her outfit. Sweater weather in the morning. Sweater weather. Sure.
And look, we're ready. We're here. We're falling and you're still giving spring, but it's okay. Wait, did she just low-key shave me? You're so cute.
First of all, hold on, hold on. First hold on. What I'm giving. It's for her. No, no, no, no.
What I'm giving with my purple and deep fuchsia is any season. See, fall is transitional. There you go. She's in my whole name. Let me do it.
I'll show you the whole thing. And we love to be fashionable no matter the season, okay? Oh.
So, Zanita posted this video and captioned it. When your co-worker tries you, no, ma'am, not today. I watch it. And let me tell y'all, the needa was not playing around, okay? Because first of all, when somebody stands up, you better get on guard.
When they go, hold on. When they go, no, no, no, no, no. And they stand up, it's oh. And then when they start talking slowly, they mean business. She said, first of all, what I'm giving with my purple and deep fuchsia.
Okay, that's that. Ooh, I didn't know if Zanetta was about to speak or swing on that one. Then when she said her full name, Kwamitra Wilbourne. Let me see. I've been taking this for years.
That's what she meant. I've been taking this for years, and now you got the nerve to talk about my color scheme. I can tell they had some stuff going on right there before this all even started. Because when Zanetta stood up and got serious, the people in the booth back in the control room were like, no, no. I know they said camera seven, put it on the weatherman.
Somebody go to commercial. And if you're looking at poor Weatherman, he didn't know what was going on, poor baby. All he could do was look down and be emotionally detached. That's all. Zanetta, you handle yourself well because that day you taught all your co-hosts to tread lightly.
But I said, anytime you're dealing with somebody named Zanetta and Kwamitra, it's some stuff about to go down right there. Oh my God. Dylan, do you ever watch morning news here in Memphis? I haven't, but I guess I should start. I've got to start.
Wow. Kwamitra? Interesting. Interesting. Zanetta and Quamitra.
I did watch the video and the poor weather guy, he was the white dude. And he was he was like, um I'm just going to sit here and say nothing. Probably for the best. Let's take a look at the seven-day forecast, shall we? But yeah, I felt bad I felt bad for that guy.
But yeah, there there was almost a throwdown on Memphis television between the two news anchors, Zanetta and Kwamitra. Only in Memphis, ladies and gentlemen. Only in Memphis. All right, 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show.
Mayhem, at the University of California, Berkeley, last night, a violent mob laid siege to a Turning Point USA event. Fights broke out. At least four people were arrested.
Some described the scene as a war zone. And hold me f ⁇ . Your Yeah, that homie they're referring to, Charlie Kirk, conservative students were spit on. The mob hurled bottles, lit fireworks. They also fired off tear gas canisters.
And take a look at this: the mob of protesters swarming this man simply for sharing his Christian faith and giving out TPUSA shirts. One protester proceeds to dump the shirts on the ground and trample on them, another jumping the man, leaving him dripping in blood.
Meanwhile, the mainstream media took a look at the images that you're watching right now here on Newsmax, and they said. mostly peaceful protest.
Well, late word this afternoon that the Justice Department has launched an investigation into what happened. Assistant Attorney General Harmie Dillon posting this message on X. And America, we do not allow citizens to be attacked by violent thugs and shrug and turn our backs. Been there, done that, not on our watch. And Attorney General Pam Bondi posting this message on X as well.
Antifa is an existential threat to our nation. The violent riots at UC Berkeley last night are under full investigation by the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force. We will continue to spare no expense unmasking all who commit and orchestrate acts of political violence. Under President Trump's leadership and pursuant to his executive order designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, the Department of Justice and our law enforcement partners are dismantling violent networks that seek to intimidate Americans and suppress their free expression. expression And First Amendment rights.
Well, joining me now to discuss what happened last night is the TPUSA chapter president at UC Berkeley, John Paul Leon. John Paul, good to have you with us. I want you to walk us through your reaction to what you saw happen at your school last night. Yes, it was absolutely insane. Just pure chaos going around.
And luckily, we did have security and law enforcement.
So we were safe inside of the building, but the perimeter outside of Zellarbach Hall, not so much. People were definitely very afraid. Of course, you mentioned things such as the tear gas as the fireworks. And just so you know, Fireworks kind of sound a lot like gunshots. And yesterday was the two-month anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
And when conservative young conservative students hear the sound of what they think is guns, the first thing that comes to their mind is that there is a shootout going on right now. And they they were just fleeing as far away as they could. There are people who are running away, people who said they had to evacuate. It was just completely crazy. And I know there was lots of violence that broke out.
And it was just completely unbelievable that the man, Charlie Kirk, a great father and husband, was shot and killed. And this is the response that we see. What I find very impressive is that in spite of all of that happening, you guys decided, you know what? We're going to do this. We're standing our ground.
Why is it that you decided to follow through? You delivered some pretty powerful remarks last night. Were you concerned about your own safety? Yes, we know that fear is infectious, but courage can be contagious too, as well. I know Vivek Ramaswamy said that one time, and he is someone who definitely appeals to us young people.
And that is a phrase that keeps playing in my head multiple times over and over again. Because when you think about the core of what that means, it's really true that we see all these threats to our livelihood. We see the backlash, and we know that our ideas are true. When you start. Fighting with force and violence, you have lost the battle.
That's why I will always uphold to maintain my ideas through reason, truth, and logic. And if you can't fight me on that terms, then you know maybe you shouldn't fight me at all. Maybe you should consider your own beliefs and you should probably change your mind instead of just dubbing us fascists because it feels good.
So we definitely feel that it is upon ourselves to stand up for what we know is right and to continue fighting and to continue giving conservatives a space on our campus. It's bold, man, and it's pretty darn courageous. What was it, Bonhoeffer said? I know you're a person of faith. Silence in the face of evil is evil itself.
Not to speak is to speak, not to act is to act, but you're standing up and you're taking a stand here. Good, good on you. I am curious, though. The university, have you heard anything from university administrators about what happened last night? I personally have not heard much from university administrators at all.
The only thing that I've heard is that we will have a debrief sometime down the line of the future for the event. But as far as concerns about safety and protesters, I have not heard anything that the university has made. No one has talked to me directly about protesters, about what could be done in the future to prevent things like this from happening. Of course, we were very safe inside of the venue, but as I mentioned, around the venue was not so much. And so it was definitely a case where I'm.
Eager to kind of like hear more what the university has to say if the university is interested in protecting conservative students. I know that pro-Palestine movements in the past have broken windows and broken inside of the building that we were holding our event at. And so, as such, We know that the campus is very much within the interest of defending their property. But are they in the interest of defending the conservative students on our campus? And we'll just have to see if that is true.
And we'll have to see what the future has to hold and what the university has to offer in terms of maintaining security amongst our students. You know, it really is ironic, John Paul. That university was the birthplace of the so-called free speech movement. And here they are trying to silence conservatives at Berkeley. We're not going to let that happen.
And it certainly sounds like you're not going to let that happen. I want you to let us know anything we can do to help here at Newsmax. We'll do it. God be with you. And thank you for the courageous stand you're taking.
Thank you. God bless you. Bye.
Well, I have really been looking forward to our next guest. He is a New York Times best-selling author. A great American, by the way. And the new book, Case for Miracles: A Journalist Investigates Evidence for the Supernatural. Coming to the big screen as well.
This is huge. Want to welcome into the program Lee Strobel. Lee, hope you're doing well.
Well, thanks so much. I'm doing great. How are you doing? I'm doing good. Thank you for asking.
It's been a while since we've run into each other, so I'm glad we're able to finally reconnect. Absolutely. This is great. I appreciate it. Lee, let's first of all talk about this book.
And a lot of people have been. Talking about the supernatural lately, you know, with all the UFOs in the sky, and Tucker Carlson talking about his, you know, visit with a, you know, something, some sort of a being at night.
So you did the investigation. What did you find? Yeah, I did this book called Seeing the Supernatural, where I really delved into the issue of whether or not there really is a realm beyond what we can see and touch and put in the test tube.
Now, of course, the Bible tells us there is. But what is the evidence? What's the documentation? What are the facts? And so I looked at things like miracles, not just things you read on the internet, but cases that have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, documented by multiple medical researchers.
I looked at near-death experiences. I looked at deathbed visions, which are visions that people have just before they die, where they see what is to come, which is biblical, by the way. We see it in Acts chapter 7. I looked at mystical dreams. They're breaking out all around the Arab world where Muslims are having supernatural dreams of Jesus and ending up coming to faith.
And I'm looking, what's the corroboration for all this? What's the evidence? Because I, as you know, used to be a skeptic, used to be an atheist. My background's in journalism and law.
So I'm always looking for the data. I'm always looking, you know, prove it to me. And guess what? We have good evidence, as we see in this movie coming out December 15th, that miracles do indeed still continue today. Yeah.
when you hear stories ab like this, always the radar gets set off.
So you've been a journalist for many, many years. What was that what was that experience like going into the story and writing the book?
Well, you know, I think it's healthy to have a sense of skepticism, you know, because not all miracle claims are true. There are some things that turn out to be just extraordinary coincidences. There are cases where somebody thinks they're healed of a disease, but actually the initial diagnosis was incorrect, so they weren't healed at all. There are cases where people have the placebo effect where they think they're going to feel better, and doggone it, they begin to feel better.
So we do have those cases. But having said that, there are those cases. That there is, you know, I looked at four criteria. Number one, do we have solid medical documentation? Number two, do we have multiple incredible eyewitnesses who have no motive to deceive?
Number three, is there no natural explanation that can account for this? And number four, did it take place in a context of prayer? And we have multiple cases that tell us that God is still supernaturally intervening in his creation today. It's a fascinating thing. And folks, I would encourage you to, first of all, read the book.
You're going to love the film. The Case for Miracles, a journalist investigates evidence for the supernatural. What was that experience like, you know, putting this all together on film, which is an entirely different thing from writing? Yeah, it really is. And I'm thankful for Manny Sandoval.
He's the producer of this thing and so proud of him. You know, his family came over, immigrated to the United States from Guatemala years ago. His dad was an atheist, became a Christian and a pastor of a tiny little church in south central LA. They lived in poverty their whole life. He and his brother went off and went to Phoenix and started making movies.
And so he kind of had a creative vision for this.
So in the film, he and I take a car trip. Actually, it's in a 1967 Ford Bronco down Route 66 in the southwest of the United States. And we talked about miracles because he grew up in a Pentecostal background where there was an expectation that God would do miracles. I grew up as a skeptic, as an atheist who had these different perspectives. And we talked about him.
And then you see the film will flash to actual events and recreations and so forth of actual cases that document the reality that God is still intervening supernaturally. All right. Uh when does the film come out? December fifteenth, it's in theaters for four days, fifteenth through the eighteenth, about one thousand movie theaters coast to coast.
So virtually every community will have it. And we're excited. I just saw the first cut of the movie last night, and it is awesome. I'm just so proud of Manny and his team, the way they put this together. I was kind of along for the ride.
I did all the research when I did my book, so I didn't have to do any additional stuff. But it turned out to be a great story that's very entertaining as well as, I think, very enlightening. And, Lee, where can people go? They want to get more information about the film and how they can watch it. Yeah, if they go to fathomevents.com and put in their zip code, you can find the local theater that's going to have it in your community, and you can buy tickets right there.
I would suggest bringing friends, especially spiritually curious people. People who aren't Christians, maybe they're kind of open or they're asking questions. And, you know, Christmas season, people are more spiritually open than any other time of the year.
So let's invite them along. And then you can have a conversation in the car on the way home. And talk about this stuff.
So we're excited about the potential this Christmas season. Of course, Christmas itself is a great miracle. And I have a new book called A Case for Christmas that looks at the evidence for the birth of Jesus and so forth.
So it's just a great season to think about this amazing event of the incarnation of the Son of God. I love this. And again, folks, December 15th through the 18th, go to fathomentertainment.com and you'll be able to type in your zip code, The Case for Miracles, which everything Lee does is first class. And so you're going to love it. It's going to be a lot of fun.
And Lee, I think, again, this time of year, especially, and when you look at what happened back in September with Charlie Kirk, you have so many people in this country that are searching for answers right now. Absolutely. I see it all the time. I perched a weekend at a church up in Dallas recently, 105 people came to faith. I preached in Las Vegas the next weekend, 160 people came to faith.
I mean, God is doing something. He's stirring the pot spiritually in our nation today. And here's a great opportunity for us to seize the season as Christians to be strong, salt, and bright light and be purveyors of his message of hope and grace. See, what I love about you, you see, I'm going to make a comparison here. I love you do the case books, right?
Kind of like Bill O'Reilly does the killing books. And I'm always afraid of Bill's books.
So I like yours much better. Oh, that's funny. They're much more promising and hopeful. I don't want to be the subject of a Bill O'Reilly book. No, no, not at all.
If you are, things do not end well. Yeah, that's right. That's right. Oh, my goodness. Lee Strobel joining us, a New York Times best-selling author.
And again, the film The Case for Miracles is going to be in movie theaters December 15th through the 18th. And you're going to want to bring folks to you. And, you know, Lee, there may be some folks that don't know your story, but you were actually an atheist and an editor back in Chicago back in the day. 'Kay. That's right.
My background's in journalism and law.
I was a legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, back when newspapers mattered, you know, years ago. And so I was an atheist for much of my life. My wife became a Christian, and I tried to disprove her faith and rescue her from this cult. And I spent two years of my life researching the historical data for the resurrection of Jesus, the scientific data for the reality of a Creator. And on November the 8th of 1981, at 2 in the afternoon, I concluded: you know what?
The evidence is just so too strong to ignore. It takes more faith to maintain my atheism than to become a Christian. And that's when I received this free gift of God's grace, became a child of God. I ended up taking a 60% pay cut, leaving my journalism career and joining the staff of a church and never look back. It's been a great adventure that God has had us on.
Well, what a great blessing. And I'm excited about how God is going to use this great film and hopefully get people to thinking and investigating for themselves. I hope so. I really encourage that. If people have doubts or questions, that's why I write my books.
And by the way, go to the library, get my books for free. You don't have to buy them if you don't want. The library's got them, and you can just borrow them. And I just encourage you to look at the evidence and then reach a verdict in the case for Christ.
Okay, your book agent's going to strongly disagree with what you just said, but go buy his book. Go buy his book, people. All right, Lee, it's great hearing from you again, and congratulations. Thanks so much. God bless you and all your listeners.
All right. The great Lee Strobel, everybody, New York Times best-selling author, the book, The Case for Miracles: A Journalist Investigates Evidence for the Supernatural. And the documentary, the film, is going to be in theaters. Again, go to Fathom Events, and you'll see all the information there: December 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th. What an amazing story.
He and I have known each other for a very, very long time, really more as acquaintances, not as friends, but we're always speaking at a lot of the same events together. And got a chance to visit with him. Where was it? I think Orlando. Um, back in the day, the World Marriott.
So that was a great event. Whenever Lee Strobel is coming to your town and he is speaking in your church, you need to go. Because it is going to be a wonderful night. And again, if you're looking for answers, you know, I would suggest. Go check out the film.
Go check out the film. By the way, this coming weekend, In South Haven, Mississippi. There is an exciting event happening I want to tell you about, and it's hosted by the Memphis Apologetics Group. And they do a lot of really neat stuff around the Mid-South. They are doing an event, and I'm the keynote speaker, one of the speakers, Charlie Kirk, The Bible, and the Constitution.
It is a conference, and it's coming up Saturday. And I believe it's free of charge. And you're going to, it's 6 o'clock on Saturday. And we would love for you to join us at Grace View Church in South Haven. That's Grace View Church in South Haven, which is where this event will be.
And I'm going to tell you, you're going to have a great time. The speech will be okay. It'll be so. I'm just kidding. I'm going to bring it.
I promise you.
So, anyway, look forward to seeing all of you there this weekend. And if it's worth a drive, and may I give you a recommendation for food? Go to a place called Dales. It is great southern food. You will not be.
Look, trust me, you're going to love it. You're not going to go away hungry. I'll tell you that much. All right, we've got to scoot out of here. It's been a great day.
We're going to do it all over again tomorrow. Tonight, 5 o'clock Eastern, the Todd Stern Show on Newsmax. Get out there, you guys. Be good, America.
