That's right. I love this American. Welcome to the Todd Starn Show. It is Friday Eve. Woo-hoo!
Yes. I don't know about you guys, but I know it's been a crazy week here with Todd being out. And uh so it's just been crazy 'cause there's just so much going on and the news is just so nuts. And, you know, Dylan and Cassie have been fantastic dealing with me and trying to meet all of my demands 'cause I'm a very demanding guest host. I try.
I try not to be a very demanding guest host. And you guys have been fantastic too, you know, calling in and, you know, paying being part of the show. And I do appreciate that. Also, some really nice messages from you guys, and I appreciate that as well.
So, coming up later in the show, we're going to be joined by Jody Barrett. He is running for Congress, looking for an upgrade, and he will be joining us to talk about, you know, why he thinks he deserves your vote. He is conservative. He's Republican. I'm sure you all know that.
But we'll talk to him a little bit about that because there's a lot to cover with him, especially with some new polls out. That show poll after poll, different plate different outlets doing the polls, but they all show the same thing. Republicans are doing really, really well. I fear they're going to drop the ball just before the end zone, but you never know.
So far, so good.
So we'll talk to him about that.
Okay. You, by the way, did I introduce myself? I'm Mary Walter. I kind of figured you'd know that since I've been with you for the past three days and you've heard me say every hour, hi, I'm Mary Walter, Infra Todd Starts.
So, Todd will be back with you on Monday. You can get a hold of me. Follow me on XMary Walter Radio. There's no S on that. And my podcast, hopefully, if I get it together this afternoon, I will edit that.
And get that up on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Spreaker. But right now, you can get the video on YouTube, Rumble, and get her. Just look for Mary Walter Radio. And if you look hard enough, you will find not one but two of those podcasts with the man himself, the big guy himself. I'm not talking Santa, I'm talking about Todd Starnes and also Ben Dieter and Grace, all on there.
So names you know, and then other names you know, like Sean Spicer and EJ Antonio and Lieutenant Colonel Alan West. There's a whole bunch of different ones there.
So. Jeffrey Lord was just on recently.
So yeah, have at it. All right, if you want to join me, nine zero one two six zero five nine two six nine zero one five six zero fifty nine twenty six or K wham. There's just so much to discuss, really. I say it every morning, starting every day, starting this show out. I'm like, there's so much to talk about, and there is.
And the funny thing is, when I get off the air. You know, probably like around Five o'clock, six, five, you know, right just before dinner. I sit down and I start to look for stories that broke since we were on the air or stories that maybe broke while we were on the air. I didn't see it. I start doing that, and I'm like, wow.
There's not a lot of stuff. And then At like ten o'clock at night. I take a little of gander before I try to go to bed. And I'm like, oh my gosh, look what happened. And then I get up in the morning and there's more.
Oh my gosh, look what happened. It's like never ending.
So, all right, let's start out with the big man. Again, this one's not Todd this time, it's Donald Trump, President Trump. President Trump uh put it Released in a reveals in a truth on pro a post on truth social. That he is going to sign an executive order dismantling what he calls domestic terrorism networks. And I think this is a big deal.
This is important. The left keeps telling us that Antifa doesn't exist. There's no such thing as Antifa.
Well, first, the argument was: if you remember, I'm old enough to remember when the argument was: like, they're not fascists, they're anti-fascists. It's literally their name, anti-Antifa. They're anti-fascist. That's what they are. They're not fascist.
What are you talking about? Then They just started disavowing that the organization actually. It's not an organization, it's just loosely, it's a group of people. And I'm like. We all saw it, like every single one of us.
It's like it's a loose, it's just a group of people who just happen to come together at the same time from all over the country. and they're all wearing the same thing and they have they're they're they're bused in, they've got buses, and they're s they they're housed at night somewhere.
Well, they do their dirty work at night, so they sleep during the day, like Bats, I guess. Like, do bats? Yeah, bats sleep during the day.
So, so, like, like some kind of animal, nocturnal animal. And then, um, they all get up and they start the same thing again. And they have gas masks and they have like clubs, they all have the same signs. Like, it's really weird, and they seem to be very well organized. But no, no, no.
Antifa now, they're telling us doesn't exist at all.
So, we've at the point in denial where they're just flat out gaslighting us and saying, Antifa doesn't exist at all. Antifa's not a thing. There is an organization called Rose City Antifa. There are several of them around the country.
So they are very highly organized, and clearly they think they exist.
So President Trump is not playing. He's not having any of this. And I love it.
So in a post on true social, He explained that he had been briefed on the shooting at the Ice Field office, look in Dallas, that we talked about first thing right out of the box yesterday morning because it had just happened. He highlighted how the men and women working at ICE are just trying to do their jobs, and he noted that they're facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence, and attacks by deranged radical leftists. He said, We have already declared Antifa a terrorist organization, and I will be signing an executive order this week to dismantle these domestic terrorism networks. and then in all capital letters which he loves. I am calling on all Democrats to stop this rhetoric against ICE and America's law enforcement right now.
Then it goes back to regular, normal. lettering. And he says the Trump administration is fully committed to backing law enforcement's strong borders, securing our homeland, deporting violent illegal criminals, and fully rooting out the left-wing domestic terrorism that is terrorizing our country. In his post, He also cast blame on the Democrats for this type of violence and noticed that it was the result of. and noted that it was the result of radical left Democrats constantly demonizing law enforcement for call for calling for ice to be demolished.
and also for labeling ICE officials as Nazis. And he added, The continuing violence from radical left terrorists in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination must be stopped.
Now they also deny that they're even they're they're doing we're not doing that. No, my hateful rhetoric has nothing to do with the violence, however, yours does. Yeah, you're very hateful. Um so it's just their um continued Gaslighting. And just continually but what's different this time around, it feels different this time around, that Trump doesn't have to worry about rea be getting reelected, so he just doesn't care, and he's gonna do what he's gonna do.
The problem with this is it's in executive order. And an executive order can very easily be done. We saw what Joe Biden did on his first day in office. We saw him sign a whole bunch of executive orders. I'm sure the Auto Pen signed the rest of them.
But we saw him sign them.
So I don't know how they're going to dismantle the left-wing domestic terrorist network. I don't know. My hunch is Donald Trump had mentioned a couple of weeks ago in an interview that they're considering going after some of the funding for these groups, particularly Antifa. And he mentioned possible RICO charges and he mentioned George Soros. We all know Soros is behind a lot of this.
And a lot of these m groups that they launder money through.
So We'll see what happens. It's going to be interesting.
Now, since we're talking about the shooting yesterday, we really don't know a whole lot more than what we knew during the show, everything that broke. We found out the guy was named Joshua John. He's 29. He was 29 years old. He, um And we know that he shot himself afterwards.
We also found out after the show that there was a car that they found that was registered to him, and I'll tell you what was on that. His mother, now I mentioned this yesterday, but it was unconfirmed, and so I didn't want to put it out there because it was unconfirmed. And now we know that it is confirmed: that his mother is Sharon John, J-A-H-N, and she kept an active Facebook page where she followed everyone from Kamala Harris and Rachel Maddow to an account representing the U.S. Democratic Socialists. After the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, in 2022 at school, she posted a lengthy rant to Facebook where she challenged Ted Cruz and John Cornyn as well as Greg Abbott for their support of gun rights.
The irony of her son using a gun in the same way uh not a school, obviously, uh is not lost. She wrote, Governor Abbott, Senator Cornyn, and Senator Cruz, how does it make you feel that your action to open up gun laws is responsible for the killing of 21 more people? Do you secretly sit in front of a TV and smile, a demented smile? You must be proud of all the money that sits in your bank accounts from gun lobby support. Was it worth it, Governor Abbott?
How about you, senators? When you prioritize money over people, this is what you get. And she noted that blood money, and she noted blood money all three had taken from the gun lobby. She said, Why do our government officials fail us? Why have our government officials failed us?
Their lust for power money and power. It is time we vote out spineless tools and bring in people who actually care about others. And she posted a poem that read If we only have love, we can melt all the guns and give the new world to our daughters and sons. The Independent got a hold of her uh uh earlier on Tuesday And of course, she said, I can't talk right now. And she was sobbing.
And I hate when, can I just say, I just hate when news outlets do that. This woman Lost her sign, regardless of who he is or was or what he did. It it was a shock, and it's her son. Leave her alone. Right?
Give her time. I really, really hate that. I think it's just so. disrespectful. I also find it's interesting that investigators said that they're still establishing a motive.
I'm like, well. He did write the motive on on the g bullets, right?
So, we do know a little bit more. I'll share it with you coming up. Also, J.D. Vance had something to say about this, and I will share that with you as well coming up on the Todd Starn show. Friends, here's a reality check.

Welcome back. I'm Mary Walter in for Todd Stones. Todd Starns. Todd is back with you on Monday. Oh my gosh.
It's only Friday Eve. It's only Thursday, and already it's starting to everything is starting to go. If you want to join me, 901-260-5926-901-260, KWAM. Or you can reach out to me on X at Mary Walter Radio.
So we're talking about the ice shooter, Joshua John, and what we have learned. And we're talking about his mom, very, very left-leaning, very liberal. And We had seen some of that yesterday, but I didn't want to bring it out because I didn't know if it was true, but now we have it confirmed. At least media is reporting who his mom is. And they found something I'll tell you about his car coming up.
So. Now, investigators, as I said, are still trying to establish a motive. After he was identified as the alleged shooter, his brother Noah told NBC News that he did not believe his brother was especially interested in politics and he hadn't voiced his opinions on immigration before. He said his brother was unemployed, but had previously worked as a coder and was planning on moving in with their parents in Oklahoma. He was a registered Independent in the twenty twenty four election, but last voted in the Democrat primaries in March of twenty twenty.
His brother said, I don't think he was politically interested. He wasn't interested in politics on either side, as far as I knew. He also said that his brother knew how to use a rifle that his parents owned.
So his mom, who was so anti-gun, owned one, had one in her home, but insisted that he's not a marksman.
Now when he was asked about the ICE facility shooting, he said, My brother would not be able to make shots like that. Interesting.
Now we know, apparently, when he shot, he just like just shot, but like like indiscriminately he b w there was someone through the wind a window m inside the building. There's holes, there's holes in the walls of the outside of the building. And then of course that van, which apparently I guess he just shot at not knowing he was in it, or he just assumed it was ICE agents.
Now, on the scene in Dallas, they found a vehicle believed to belong to him. And there was a sign. It was a white piece of paper, and it had a map of the United States on it with all its blacks, these markings looks like black splatter. It reads radioactive fallout from nuclear detonations that have passed over these areas more than two times since 1951.
So it's kinda weird, right? Kind of weird. I will not be surprised if we find out this guy probably had some mental health issues. We're finding that more and more. We have a generation of young men, and we've been warning we've been talking about this probably for ten years, that these kids are young men.
We are doing them a disservice. And now they're in their twenties and we're seeing a lot of mental health issues. Yeah. Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told CNN, That the death toll is two as of Wednesday. A third victim was in serious condition.
And the investigator said he just fired indiscriminately as I was talking about. The van was peppered with bullets, windows in the building a couple of times. There was a witness. Uh and she was in her car waiting for her husband to return from a nice appointment, and she heard the shots. She said they started at around 10 a.m.
and there were like twenty shots in a row.
So that's a lot.
Now, I want to get to because we do have some breaking news right now about this. Crazy, right? That this time of day is such a great time of day to have a show. But let me tell you first, I want to get to this first. This is J.D.
Vance. On on the shooting. It's cut one. And this was his reaction yesterday when they were talking about this. And J.D.
Vance. I I I don't know if if he's, you know, trying to uh if he's studying Trump. He's very smart, and he has, I think he has it in him. He's not as suave, as cool. Cool and he doesn't have the same demeanor as Trump.
He's a little bit more tight, but not as loose, I guess, as Trump. I don't know how to describe it, but I see a distinct difference between the way J.D. Vance handles himself and the way Donald Trump handles himself. And maybe J.D. Vance isn't as self-assured as Donald Trump, but that'll come.
So here is J.D. Vance on the Dallas Ice shooting. The very people who keep us safe ought to be honored and protected and praised by Democrats and Republicans alike. It is time to stop the rhetorical assault on law enforcement. Because here's what happened.
Because here's what happens when Democrats like Gavin Newsom did say that these people are part of an authoritarian government. When the left-wing media lies about what they're doing, when they lie about who they're arresting, when they lie about the actual job of law enforcement, what they're doing is encouraging crazy people to go and commit violence. You don't have to agree with my immigration policies. You don't have to agree with Donald Trump's immigration policies. But if your political rhetoric encourages violence against our law enforcement, you can go straight to hell and you have no place in the political conversation of the United States of America.
Yeah. You know what's interesting? You know, it's the left that always speaks that way. Like, they get really like, you could go straight to hell. But they're way worse with calling Nazis and name-calling thing like that.
Kind of nice to see J.D.B. Vance get a little bit of a fire in his belly, right? Like, I think maybe he's learning a little bit from Trump. He's got three more years. to learn from Trump.
Um how it's done. That's what you've got. We've got.
So, all right, I've got an update coming up for you.
So, just a little bit of what is breaking now about the Dallas Ice Gunman.
Now, he did leave a handwritten note. Yeah. Now, uh before I get to that, which we'll probably get to after the bottom of the hour. We do have Cache Patel writing on X at FBI Dallas and FBI HQ have been working twenty four seven to seize devices, exploit data, and process writings obtained on location and in the subject's person slash residence slash bedroom. One of the handwritten notes recovered read Ready?
Hopefully this will give Ice agents real terror to think is there a sniper with AP armor piercing rounds on that roof? Patel added that he conducted multiple searches of ballistics in the Charlie Kirk shot video between 9-23 and 9-24. Between 820, 819, and 824, he searched dApps that track the presence of ICE agents. This is why we got to break these groups down. You've got to break them down.
They now, we now know, helped him. Do what he did. There is so much more. It's such a great day for news. It's all coming up on the Todd Stern Show.
Nearly two years ago, terrorists murdered over 1,200 innocent Israelis and took 250 hostages. Today, the cries of the dead and dying seem drowned out by shouts of anti-Semitic hatred. The most brutal attack on Jewish people since the Holocaust is already fading from memory. Yet, as the world looks away, a light breaks through the darkness. Christians are speaking out in love and support for Israel.
United in faith, they will boldly stand with Israel this October, joining a growing movement, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Flags of Fellowship. Flags of Fellowship unites churches all over America, planting over 1 million Israeli flags across our land. Together, we'll combat hate and the scourge of anti-Semitism one flag at a time. And through our prayers, we can save lives, bring hope, and be a part of seeing a brighter future unfold.
This October, please join this historic movement by donating your flag. Today, visit ifcj.org. That's ifcj.org. Happy Friday Eve to you. Tomorrow's the big day.

Okay, so we're talking just very quickly a little bit on this update that we just got. It just broke. Literally Uh 20 minutes ago. More on the the Dallas shooter, the the alleged shooter, Joshua John. They he did have uh notes either on him or they were recovered from his his residence.
He conducted multiple searches of ballistics and the quote Charlie Kirk shot video between 923 and 924. Then between 8:19 and before that, between 819 and 824, he searched apps that track the presence of ICE agents.
Now, we know those apps are out there, and the people who run them go, Well, it's our free speech, we can track law enforcement, we could do this.
Well, it's being used for evil, and I'm sure the people who run it don't care and probably think that it's great. And this is what we're up against. This is an we've this country has turned a corner, in my humble opinion. And this whole thing of engraved bullets, it's a new thing. It was the Mangioni shooter, it was the first one to do that.
And then the Ascension, Assumption School. When you're Catholic, you get Ascension and Assumption sometimes mixed up. The school shooter at that Catholic school, the Ascension School, also engraved the bullets. The Kirk shooter did it.
Now the Ice Shooter, this is like the new thing on the left. This is their new calling card.
Now, Cachepatel said that the shooter also downloaded a document titled Dallas County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and it contains a list of DHS facilities. He went on to say further accumulated evidence to this point indicates a high degree of pre-attack planning. This is something that obviously was played. This is why these officers mask their identities because they're nuts. These people are crazy and they will kill you.
He didn't care. Everything was shut up, the front of the building into the windows. He could have killed people who were inside, but that was what he wanted to do. That's what it appears like. I'm not an FBI agent, but.
I mean, really? How much w w how much more do you need to put two and two together here? Three detainees in the unmarked transport van. were in there and they were shot. And then John took his own life around 7 a.m.
He was found dead with a rifle on a nearby rooftop. Can I just say it's very hard to take your own life with a rifle? Anybody think about that? You know? I I don't think I could do that.
You've got to, you've got to have. I don't know. Maybe he had another firearm, like a handgun that he used to take his own life.
So we'll find out more. But um Yeah, I was thinking about them like, wait, he takes his own life and he had a rifle. How? How did he do that?
Sour.
Okay, the FBI, since we're talking about the FBI, let's stick with the FBI.
So, the FBI says that they found classified documents in John Bolton's D.C. office. Boom.
Now Let me say. And first of all, if you want to join me, 901-260-5926, 901-260-5926, or you can reach out to me on exit Mary Walter Radio. 'Kay.
So John Bowling. Let me just say, as a person, as a man, as a human being, I find him delightful. I've, I've. I've 10 years and I worked in DC. And we're not friends in any sense of the word, but we were.
We work associates, okay?
So I would interview him. I had the chance to interview him, saw him at events, and really nice guy, really nice. And I was so, so, so, so disappointed with him during the first Trump administration. I was like, you know, but it's one of those things where you can like someone as a person, but not like what they do for a living or how they do their job, right? Like, so, like, in radio, there's some people that I like, and I think they're great, really great people.
Really like them as a person. I just don't think that on the air they're that great. And then there were other people that I'm like, Wow, I gotta admire him. He's really good at his job, but I don't like him as a person off the air. I don't like him at all.
Like, we all have people. I would hope that more people, I wish more people had the ability to do that, to separate. But so when it comes to John Bolton, caveat, I really like him as a person, but. His never were Trumpism, and he went to me just went off the rails.
So FBI agents executing a search warrant at his downtown Washington office last month, this is the first time we heard about it, turned up documents marked as classified. This is according to a court filing that was just released. Descriptions of the documents gathered in the search happened on august twenty second suggested they included materials that referenced weapons of mass destruction, the US mission to the United Nations, and records related to the US government's strategic communications. The inventory by an FBI agent doesn't specify the number of suspected classified documents, but it lists several collections or folders that were labeled confidential, and some pages were marked Secret. FBI agents also carried out a search warrant the same morning at his home in Bethesda.
The inventory from that search contained no outward indication that classified information was located.
However, in both instances, agents reported seizing computers and other electronic devices whose contents were not detailed.
So I would assume that that will be coming. Both search warrant applications indicated that FBI agents were looking for evidence related to three felony offenses, including gathering, transmitting, or losing National Defense information in violation of the Espionage Act and retaining classified information without permission.
Now during Trump's first term, when John Bolton, like I said, just He just came out as one of those rhinos who are just a never-Trumper. There's something about Donald Trump that I guess the establishment Republicans just didn't like, and we all saw it during the first term, and John Bolton was part of that. During that first term, he faced a lawsuit, John Bolton, claiming that he included classified information in a book he wrote after he left the administration. Remember that? And a Federal judge warned publicly that his actions might have been criminal, but Under the Biden administration, the DOJ did not lead to charges and was eventually dropped because, you know.
politics. It's not known, though, when the investigation was restarted. Could have happened under Biden, I doubt it, because there's no need if you drop it in 21, why would you restart it? doesn't make any sense. Court filings indicate that investigators determined that Biden's AOL email account was hacked by a foreign entity.
Now. Who still uses AOL? Mm-hmm. Right? Like That to me is like the days of dial up with that that fi if you're old enough to remember the sound of dial up, remember that very distinct sound.
We're all going to be in the home. We're not going to know what our names are. But if you play that sound from dial up, we're all going to go. AOL dial-up, that we will remember. Who has still has an AOL email?
It's just weird. I I mean, I don't know why I think it's weird, but I think it's weird because I don't know anybody who still has one. Uh but they they did Determined that it was hacked by a foreign entity, although details of the alleged hack and how the U.S. became aware of it. Unclear.
DOJ attorneys agreed to make public redacted versions of the inventory and the search warrant and the accompanying affidavit. Categories of potentially classified records that the FBI reported finding in Bolton's office included. Travel memo documents with a secret label, Confidential documents from the US mission to the UN Confidential documents related to strategic communications, and classified documents related to weapons of mass destruction.
Now, Gosh, he was at the UN. What? That had to be back during Obama. Right? Like, wasn't he at the UN?
Maybe it was even before Obama. He was back at the UN a while ago, because I have to say it was. The twenty like twenty tens, maybe before that, like oh nine?
So that would have been Obama, right?
So it had, it was something, to me, it was back in the 2000s that he was at the. Early 2000s that he was at the UN.
So, some of this stuff could be really old, but that doesn't mean that you can still have it. Like, you're still breaking the law. Secret is the middle of three major tiers of U.S. national security classification. And it covers information that is expected to cause serious damage if it's disclosed.
Confidential is the lowest tier, and that covers information that could cause some damage to national security if released. Confidential is often used for routine diplomatic communications.
Now an attorney for Bolton Abby Lowell, he represents all the Democrats that are in hot water. Good old Abby Lowell. It said the records were cleared for Bolton's use years ago, and many of them were more than two decades old. He said these are the kind of ordinary records, many of which 20 years or old or more, that would be kept by a 40-year career official who served in the State Department as an assistant attorney general, the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, National Security Advisor.
Specifically, the documents with classification markings from the period of 1998 to 2006 date back to Ambassador Bolton's time in the George W. Bush administration. There we go. An objective and thorough review will show nothing inappropriate was stored or kept by Ambassador Bolton.
Now, he did not, Abby Lowell did not address whether the documents had been. That are marked had been declassified. And that's a big deal. They have to be declassified. You can say, oh, these are old.
You can't personally make that judgment unless you're Hillary Clinton, in which case you can get away with anything.
Now President Trump faced thirty-two counts of one of the offenses under investigation in the Bolton probe, the unauthorized retention of classified information in violation of the Espionage Act. And we know that that case was eventually dismissed because the judge decided that Jack Smith didn't have the authority to do it because he was not properly appointed. Joe Biden also faced the criminal inquiry, but then Robert Hearst said: President Puddingpants isn't mentally fit to face any kind of trial.
So we're going to let him get away with it. And Democrats said, cool, we'll run him for reelection.
So there's all of that. All right. Let's um Yeah, let's go to this. Since we're talking about the FBI, since we're talking about all this, the inner workings of The government and what we're finding out now because Donald Trump was reelected. Just remember all of this.
If Donald Trump had not been re-elected, we would not know. Think of the things that we know now, but we never would have known because they never counted on Donald Trump getting re-elected. Right, like we were just talking about with Ambassador Bolton, his house and n his home never would have been raided. If Donald Trump had not been reelected. And I say that not because of Donald Trump, but because the FBI and the DOJ are slowly being de-weaponized.
We're slowly taking out. There were so many whistleblowers who came forward to say, hey, you know, the people at the top. have weaponized the The three alphabet agencies. And Nothing was done about it. Their lives were ruined because they dared to come forward to say, hey, this is wrong.
So, I don't want it to be weaponized the other way. I would love them to be independently run, and right is right, and wrong is wrong. That would be my dream.
So coming up, we do have Remember the name James Comey? He's back. We have more on the Charlie Kirk killing. We also have Gavin Newsome is back. There's so much to get to today.
Gavin Newsome is back. And also, we have Representative Jody Barrett joining us as well. He is going to be running for Congress. We're going to talk to him after the top of the hour.
So we have a really, really full plate here. We also have some good news, economic news. And oh, and by the way, I didn't bother cutting the audio. Have Dylan cut the audio. I don't cut it.

Um the Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, who I love him too. I like him too. And I listen, I don't like everybody in the Trump administration, and I don't know. I wouldn't know Scott Besant. We're not, I've never met the man.
But when I say I like someone, I just kind of like the way that they. Hot prod The way they come across, the way they hold themselves, the way they, the way they. Present themselves publicly. All right. So Scott Besant, because you know, he doesn't get paid, and when he flies somewhere, you know, to whether it's to Florida or wherever it happens to be, he does it in his own jet.
Like, we don't pay anything for him. He's losing money being the Treasury Secretary. Like, I have mad respect for that. Good for you, dude. He warned yesterday.
That if Zoran Mamdani carries out his socialist economic plans as mayor. New York City is going to come begging to Washington for a bailout, and he said. I ain't giving it to him. He was on yesterday on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo. And he told her, I guarantee you, there's not a lot of things in life that are sure, but New York City will be coming to the federal government for a bailout.
if Mandami's plans are implemented. And she asked, You gonna give him a bailout? And he said, It will be the same thing that Gerald Ford said, Drop dead. Ho ho ho. He said, You can't enact policies like this and expect to be bailed out.
Listen, California's doing it, and California is going to expect to be bailed out. You watch, California is so in debt. And they just keep doubling down on giving all this money to people in the country illegally. And they just keep going and going and going because they know that they can come with their hand out. And the rest of the states, the responsible states, are going to have to give them money to bail them out for their little social experiment.
So I like hearing Besson. No, it's just a city. You know, New York's just a city. It's not a whole state. But so the bailout won't be as expensive.
But he's like, nope, figure it out yourself. It's not happening. He said, if Mamdani's plans take effect, all the high earners, all the business is, all the businesses are going to leave. You're going to lose your tax base. If you look back over the past five years, we've already seen the greatest transfer of wealth in U.S.
history from Manhattan County to Palm Beach County. And I'll tell you, it's happened. That's one of the things. New Jersey used to be a red state. And then in when Dinkins was running the city, before Giuliani came in, when Dinkins was running Manhattan, Everybody fled.
Everybody left. New York. And they beat feet to New Jersey and they voted for the same stuff that they left in New York. They voted blue and they turned New Jersey blue. And New Jersey has just gone farther and farther and farther on the crazy train to the left.
And New Jersey got overrun again during COVID because in New York they shut down their beaches. And so everybody came to New Jersey because our beaches were open in New Jersey. And they. They just overran the state. And you see it.
Tennessee is getting a lot of people, right? A lot of trans plans from New York, from New Jersey, even Pennsylvania, because the. The Liberals left New Jersey because New Jersey became expensive, and a lot of people went to Pennsylvania, went to the Poconos, Northeast Pennsylvania, because it's really beautiful. And what happens? All of those people then pick up, and where are they moving?
Tennessee is a super hot place to move right now. Californians are doing it to Montana. You're seeing this happen all across the country. You saw Californians going to Arizona. And what they do, though, is they bring the same mentality with them and they vote for the same stuff that they were voting for in the state they left.
And they're making him miserable. Just making it miserable. It's insanity. All right, coming up. State Representative Jody Barrett will be joining us.

We're going to go to the Patriot Mobile newsmaker line and welcome our guest, Representative Jodi Barrett.
He's also a constitutional law attorney and looking for higher office. Jodi, thank you for joining me here on the Todd Starn Show. How are you? It's always a pleasure to join us. I hope you're doing well today.
I'm doing great.
So, you know, there's so many questions I want to ask you. But we were just talking about Mamdoni in New York. And how Scott Besson to the Treasury Secretary said, you know, if you go through with a lot of things that you want to go through with, you're going to lose your tax base because everyone's going to flee. And I was talking about how, you know, everyone, you've seen this across the country. California, they're all leaving and they're going to Idaho and they're going to Montana.
And they're changing those states by voting blue. You saw coming out of New Jersey, out of New York, they came into New Jersey, they came into Pennsylvania.
Now they're starting to head down to the Carolinas because they voted blue and tried to turn New Jersey blue. And then when they were done with that, they didn't like that.
So they started moving south to the Carolinas. And you see it in Tennessee as well. You know, with people who are leaving, I know people in New Jersey who are moved, planned to retire to Tennessee.
So you see that as well in Tennessee. And I guess my question is: how is that changing Tennessee? And what do you plan to do about it? Who so? That's a long question.
There's a lot of different ways we could take that answer. I can tell you that I've seen it here in my law practice. We have a real estate practice as well here where. do a lot of transactional work with folks that are moving in here from out of Yeah. the vast majority of folks that are coming here from California, Illinois, New York and Yeah, other Liberal Uh wastelands.
running from those policies, running toward freedom. They see Tennessee and Certain red states across the southeast as a beacon of hope, a place where they can. Own some property and be able to do what they want on that property without the government coming in and regulating them to death. Those are the folks that we want to come here, the folks that choose to be here and want to assimilate and become a part of our culture. But also, we're doing a little bit of Damage to our our own brand, so to speak, with the recruitment of industries and uh companies and corporations moving their headquarters here that also bring a lot of their employees kicking and screaming to our Red State that don't necessarily choose to be here and And those are the ones that are sometimes the malcontents.
that that find everything wrong with the way we live here in in Tennessee. And so Yeah, we've got be careful with that and be a little bit I think so a little bit more selective with the company. companies and folks that we partner with and that we recruit to come here. Yeah. No, I I understand 'cause I there's I I understand that there's really not much you can do, right?
Like if they want to move to Tennessee, they have the money, they're going to buy the property, well, whatever it happens to be, you can't really say to them, well, how are you going to vote? Before before you Yeah, before you allow them to.
So let's talk about your campaign and let's talk about the mood in the country right now. There's been several polls that have come out, the most recent being an Ipsos Reuters poll. And not all of these polls are known for being centrist.
Some of them are more left-leaning than right. But all of them are showing that when. When respondents are asked which party has a better plan, and then they list different issues, Republicans have consistently come out on top for issues like crime, immigration, foreign conflicts, the economy, and political extremism, all that stuff. The issues that matter, Republicans keep coming out on top. Is This is going to be a different midterm in the sense of a traditional midterm in this country where you the ruling the party in In the presidency, in the presidential branch, doesn't lose seats.
Could Republicans actually gain seats? This time around? Oh, I definitely think so. I think it's very possible that the Republicans gained seats in both houses. or both chambers of Congress.
And a large part of that is I think we are starting to see some movement finally with the Fed when it comes to interest rates. those interest rates coming down will re spark the real estate investment It'll restart. uh respark construction industry Uh get folks back to work. all of those industries speed everything else it all Uh works uh in tandem with each other. And so Uh if we are coming into the the spring and summer of twenty six with a roaring economy and folks back to work and prices starting to come back down on things that they pay for uh groceries and gas and and things along those lines, then uh The consumer Feeling toward the Presidency and toward the Republican Party in general, and the majority that we have is going to be more positive.
Yeah. Not only that, but the Democrats just seem to be compliant. completely devoid and rudderless right now.
Now devoid of any reason. or mission uh They're grasping at straws, trying to find anything that they can hold on to to keep their ship from sinking. And so Yeah, I think it's our job. as as the Republicans and the grown-ups in the room to continue to press the envelope and make sure that we're doing the right things that benefit the American people. But it's amazing that they keep doubling down on the 20% issue, like the 20% side of an 80-20 issue, like immigration, like crime.
They keep doubling down on it. And I think it's just because their brains are broken because of Donald Trump.
So let's talk about crime. Let's talk about Memphis. Let's talk about the National Guard coming in. I would assume that most neighborhoods, especially the hard-hit neighborhoods when it comes to crime, those areas of Memphis. Are happy about National Guard and the National Guard being deployed to their city because they're the ones who are being held hostage.
How does that affect the vote? Does that translate, though, into them getting to the polls and actually voting? Frio.
Well, I think I think it is another example of Uh blue voting areas. Whether they're urban areas in Memphis or Nashville or Knoxville, Chattanooga. to have been Promised a bunch of things by their leaders for years and years about how they're going to make things better and they're going to make things safer. They're going to make things more prosperous. and they continuously fail to live up to those promises.
Mostly because They just flat out. refuse to do the things that are necessary in order to make it happen. And I think it's excellent that we're seeing that these voters, these folks that are in the desperate situation. That are crying out for someone to come and help them are seeing a Republican president. Republican leadership in this state.
take the actual necessary steps. to do something to help them out. And I hope that's an example for other voters across the country. The country. And what about the Democrats' response to this?
How much does it hurt them?
Well, I think it absolutely hurts them. And it's just like everything else. They always seem to. Uh catered toward the far left wing extremes of their party. Uh probably because that's those are the only people left that are Um and so you know, i if you're if you're if you're campaigning to or performing for only those folks that are willing to write you those checks, then you're just continuing to move farther and farther into the abyss and away from sanity.
And the folks are starting to see that. I think people are waking up to it and they're realizing that. The Republican Party right now is the party f for safe. streets and safe cities and uh the party of the rule of law and trying to make sure that we're taking care of folks and and taking uh you know giving The Manpower, the resources. All the things necessary to law enforcement in order to get back on the streets and do their job.
as opposed to turning the the the law enforcement job over to a bunch of you know, social justice schemers that Uh had proven Very unequivocally, but that That plan does not work. That's not work. No, nobody wants to see a social worker arrive when someone's in their homes taking their TV out the door.
So before we run out of time, I have two questions. The first one is: what do you think, which issue do you think is the issue? That is the best one, the most winning issue for you, that so that people are going to be like, Yeah, I want to pull I want to pull the lever for him because of this issue. And which one do you think is the toughest one for you?
Well I don't know if it's an issue that's the The best So much as a style. And stylistically, what people in this district, and I think all across Tennessee. are longing for Is a Elected representative that actually represents the p. that sent them to into the office. Yeah.
to someone that's going into office to try to make money. uh climb a ladder, get some sort of political success or power. uh and make a living out of being an elected person. I've spent three years in the state legislature. being 100% committed to being the voice of the people that I represent.
even if that means I'm voting against things that my leadership or the governor uh is adamantly in favor of it's Ba district. tells me that they're not for it, then that's what my job is supposed to be. Be. I'm supposed to say what they would say, do what they would do, and vote the way they would vote if they were sitting in the chair. And a lot of folks forget that.
What which issue do you think is the one that's gonna be the tough the toughest?
Well, I think the toughest issue is making sure that people understand that. What I am running for currently is a special election to finish out the remainder of Congressman Green's term.
So, a lot of the folks. that I'm competing against or opponents. in this race. are making a lot of promises about how they're going to or they're going to to fix the deficit and get our debt. wiped out.
But they're not being truthful. And the fact that When we get in office, whoever gets elected in December is going to be walking into I fight over a continuing resolution. To fund the government right before Christmas, and then after Christmas. Break, you're going to spend all of your time and energy trying to get your legs underneath you, get a staff in place, get an apartment in D.C. And by the time you get all that figured out, you're turning around to pull papers to run for reelection again.
in a midterm election. And so job number one for anybody that gets elected or wins the primary. Should be to hold the seat in December for the Republican Party so we keep the majority that we have. Job number two, focus number two, should be to win the seat again in November of twenty six.
So, the Republicans maintain their majority in Congress, and we can continue. to push President Trump's agenda. Yeah, yeah. And I know you've been noted as one of the few Republicans. Unafraid to break with party leadership.
And I think that goes to what you had said about representing the people, like being a true representative. And I think too many people who we send to Washington, D.C., or even your state house in whichever state you happen to live in, they do what's right, what's best for their reelection. As you said, not what's best for their constituents. They kind of forget that part of it.
So I like hearing that, I like the way you answered that question. Not that that matters, but I'm just saying I personally like the way you answered that question, just because I really think that too many of them forget that they're supposed to be a representative. That's the form of government that we have. And I think that's their number one job. It may not be personally how you want to vote on something, but if the majority of your constituents want you to vote yay or nay on something, that's, in my humble opinion, your responsibility.
So kudos to you on that. For me personally, I've never voted for someone with the idea that, hey, I'm just going to send them up there to figure it out on their own, and they'll come back and tell me what the best. idea was. When I vote for someone, expecting someone to reflect me, my values. uh the way I think about things and and my community that I live in.
Um and so that that's what I plan to do if if elected by the Republican Party and as their nominee and and ultimately to win the general election on December 2nd. I will go to DC and represent the 700,000 people of the Congressional Seventh. and be their voice in Congress. That's what the job is supposed to be. Be.
Yeah, well, I love that. You can find, now, let me know if I forget anything. Jodi Barrett.com, Jodi Barrett for Tennessee. Did I miss anything? You nailed it.
And early voting is going on right now.
So if you're in the seventh and listening to this, Get out now. Go don't wait until October 7th. Go ahead and vote today. Yeah, you know, that's a big thing. You're absolutely right.
Glad you said that. Too many, especially Republicans, are not known for getting off their butts and voting. And you can vote early, so there's zero excuse for not getting out there or requesting a mail-in ballot and voting absentee. You got to get out in vote. That is the message.
Jodi, thank you so much for joining me. Best of luck to you. Yes, ma'am. My pleasure for being with you. Thank you.

Uh coming up. I promise you, we're going to get to Comey. I promise, promise, promise we'll get to Comey. But we just don't have enough time here to do that. And I really want to give it the attention that it is due.
So I want to do that. But how about if I share this with you?
So remember, P. Diddy. Uh Sean Puffy Combs, remember him? Puff Daddy, he had a lot of different names.
Well, you know, he's still in jail. He's at Rakers Island, which is no walk in the park. Like, that's a bad place to be. Like, it's not a good jail. He has now been on constant suicide watch since July.
His lawyers claims claim that he has faced inhumane living conditions. Oh, he at MDC Brooklyn, so he's not on Rikers anymore. His legal team proposed a 14-month sentence ahead of his October 3rd hearing for federal charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. He's going to be sentenced. They're like, Yeah, we got to try to take this train off the tracks.
He's already spent 13 months behind bars.
So I don't like that. I got to say, I realize he's a high flight risk, but you know, they let the guy go out on bail who killed allegedly the well, we all saw it, the girl on the train in North Carolina, Charlotte. Yeah, he got out on bail.
So I'm not quite sure why Puff Daddy P. Diddy is still sitting in lockup. They say mister Combs has suffered physically and mentally, and continued incarceration serves no positive goals. Courts do not simply punish, but must restore and rehabilitate with a goal to returning the convicted person to their community as soon as practicable. Upon release, Mr.
Combs fully intends to abide by every order of this court and to renew and repair relationships that have been damaged in a healthy, positive, and lawful manner. After embarking on his journey, Mr. Combs will devote attention to his family and community and to creating new initiatives and opportunities for others. And they're also arguing that the sentencing guidelines should not apply in this case.
So they're trying to get him a much lower sentence. But again, the guy who allegedly stabbed that young Ukrainian woman on the train, you know, slitters the throat basically. Um He's wandering the streets, like that's okay, but we're worried about P. Diddy wandering the streets. What is wrong?
What is wrong with our system? Ugh, all right. I promise, speaking of the system, James Comey will talk about that next on the Todd Starn Show. Stop settling for weak sound. It's time to level up your game and bring the boom.
Hit the town with the ultra-durable LGX Boom portable speaker and enjoy vibrant sound wherever you go. Elevate your listening experience to new heights because let's be real, your music deserves it. The future of sound is now with LG X Boom. And for a limited time, save 25% at lg.com with code FALL25. Bring a bowl.
X Boom. Hey, welcome back to the Todd Starn Show. On this Friday Eve, I'm Mary Walter in for Todd. You can join me at 901-260-5926, 901-260-KWAM. Or you can reach out to me on X at MaryWalter Radio.
There is no S in that, it's just Mary Walter Radio. Joining us now, Republican strategist Luke Symbol is here with us. Luke, thank you so much for joining me. Hey, Mary, thanks for having me. Absolutely.
Let's talk a little bit about Donald Trump, said in a truth social post, which is how we find out everything, is that. He's going to sign an executive order to deal with domestic terrorists. These domestic terrorist groups. And we're seeing more and more. We saw what we see lots of what Antifa did in the summer of 2020, and we saw how Democrats told us that we were told Antifa is just an idea.
We were told that Antifa exists, but it's just there's no organization, there's no head.
Now we're told that it doesn't exist at all. Like, this is the gaslighting stage that we're at, which it doesn't exist at all. How are they going to do that? It's just it's unbelievable to me the gaslighting that these people try to I mean, it's like they're pulling the wool over our eyes, totally, totally inappropriate. Everybody knows.
What Antifa is. Andy No on X has documented I mean, he himself has been Harmed by Antifa, nearly lost his life, been attacked on several occasions, trying to document, and had to flee the country. I believe he now lives in. London to escape. Of what was happening here in Portland.
But I really like this executive order. I think it's a long time coming. And what it does is it allows the federal government to begin going after the people who are funding it. And it precludes people from working in the federal government. When you go through a background check, For example, when I um When I was a a federal law clerk, After law school, and then when I was looking at working for the Department of Justice, I had to go through a very serious background check and answer a lot of different questions.
And one of Actually, several of the questions pertain to Pass. Have you ever Yeah. A terrorist organization, a domestic terrorist organization. Have you ever given money to a domestic terrorist organization? And um answering uh Falsely lying on the background check is a felony.
And so, what it does is it keeps those people out of our government. if they somehow get in. It becomes a felony, they can go to jail. Um and we can now go after people who are funding This leftist activist group, I think that You know, the Trump administration has been talking about RICO charges for George Soros and other leftists is George Soros funding Antifa?
Well, now we can investigate And find out. Look, we've all seen the videos in these in American cities where you have people dressed in all black Where's the r With weapons and with hammers, destroying the curves and throwing rocks. Um Uh and it's it's it looks very low. Organized. Where do they get this equipment that's all matching?
Where do they get this equipment? the the money to rent these trucks that And It's high time that we go after it. And I applaud the Trump administration for doing so. The thing I don't like about it is it's just an executive order. I don't understand why it's so hard for Congress to do anything except try to get re-elected.
This is why I think we need term limits because, you know, look at Donald Trump in his last term. He knows he can't get re-elected.
So he's going full bore. He just doesn't care.
So he's just getting stuff done. And the fact that he has to do it through executive order means that it's never going to stick. Also, with the process that you were just describing, you know, you have to swear that you've never been involved. They're going to scrub their social media. You know that, right?
So they're going to scrub their social media.
So it. I think there's ways to get around it. It sounds good, but there are ways to get around it when it comes to applying for a job with the government. Are they going to be jailed? They can be, but they all know that when there's a Democrat in office, the rules don't apply to them.
Laws don't apply because it's D. It's different with a capital D when they do it.
So. And I think that also the pushback on the other side. You know, remember, Catholics were a terrorist organization under the Joe Biden administration, traditional Catholics.
So I see problems with it, but I like the idea of going after those who are funding it. And I believe Donald Trump had mentioned possible RICO charges, and he mentioned George Soros. We all know Soros donates to all these groups, but the Democrats are much smarter than the Republicans. They launder the money through group after group after group after group before it finally makes it where it's supposed to be. And that's done purposely.
And I think it's going to be very difficult. I don't think I think it's going to take a long time. I think it's going to take a long time, but I appreciate the effort. And half of the battle Is The narrative that is created from the podium.
So, what Donald Trump does so well.
Well is he broadcasts What his intentions are, what he wants to do, what he is fighting. And then that lets everybody know, okay, it is okay to talk about it. It is okay to say Antifa is a terrorist organization. That narrative is so. important.
Um And you know, even I live Um in the city of Memphis. And Memphis has been in the news lately, the past several weeks, because of the the federal task force that is going to be coming here to clean up crime and and the Tennessee Guard is supposed to be And What that what it has done here locally is energize. the Republican Party here, you know, it's a Democrat. Um city, it's a it's a Democrat county, but what it's done is it's breathed new life Interesting. local elected Republicans who are now Sharing the narrative that Republicans are the ones that get crime under control.
And so, again, that's why the podium is so important. That's why I think. President Trump talking about Antifa. Is so important. You know, the Biden administration just completely ignored it.
Um and even Trump in the first term Um you know, there were some mentions of it in the media and such, but now everybody knows what Antifa is, and if they don't, they're gonna look into it and realize Wait a minute. Democrats are they defending a terrorist organization? It looks like terrorism to me. You know what, though, I don't think they care. I think we've entered a new phase with the advent of Donald Trump being reelected and everything that's happening in this country at warp speed.
It's impossible to keep track of. Like, my brain is on overload at all times, which is why when I'm done with my last show on Friday, I'm going to go watch the latest 90-day fiancé just to let, right? Because I have to have my brain decompress and just watch a lot of people making bad decisions, right? Mine is Kardashian. It's so embarrassing.
Don't tell anybody. I love it. But I just don't think they care. And they flat out throw it in our faces that they don't care. Ilhan Omar has doubled down, tripled down, quadrupled down on her rhetoric regarding Charlie Kirk.
She doesn't care because she knows nothing's going to happen to her. She knows that if there is a vote to censure her, that Republicans will run to her side to bail her out under the guise of free speech. Because Republicans don't play to win, which is why I am not a registered Republican. I am an independent because I refuse to sign up for a team that doesn't play to win.
So that's me. I get the whole free speech thing. We have to preserve free speech. I get it. But sometimes you have to treat your opponent the way they treat you.
And there is a group of Republicans that refuse to do so. And it drives me crazy.
So I don't see how it is very. Frustrating. It is very frustrating. And Elon Olmar, I do not know why charges have not been brought for immigration fraud, marriage. I mean, the Daily Mail just, I mean, they're reporting it.
They are saying this did happen. They have documented proof. Donald Trump is tweeting about it. Why the heck have there not been criminal charges? Filed against her, and why have we not begun stripping her of her citizenship?
You can strip people of your citizenship when they commit things like immigration fraud. That is one of the ways that. You can strip. And let's make a very public example that when you disrespect us like that, when you disrespect the awesome privilege it is to be an American citizen. you are going to be deported and we're going to strip that citizenship from you when we're able to under the law.
Totally inappropriate that, that hasn't happened yet. And that is an example of fighting back. I mean, the President's talking about it, folks, let's get on it. Agree. Agree.
And let's find out, you know, how her husband made $30 million in a year. Yeah. Right. I mean, it is just it's so. It's so in our face, um and the fact that nothing's been done about it yet is is frustrating.
Because Republicans don't care. Again, why I'm not a registered Republican right here.
So, since you have legal background, I want to ask you a question. Brad Knott is out of North Carolina. He's a freshman house lawmaker. And there's a piece in which he was interviewed, and he seems to think that they're going to have a hard time prosecuting Charlie Kirk's killer. He resigned from the office of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina to run for Congress.
And he believes law enforcement officials are proceeding appropriately, but because this guy doesn't want to talk, they're going to fight it every single step of the way. And because there are so many angles at which they can go after him, that it's going to be a very, very tricky. Yeah, there's text messages and things like that, but if he doesn't talk, he said it could be very difficult. No one saw him shoot the gun, right? And he walked away.
How did he walk away? And I have this question. We didn't see him carrying a long arm, right?
So I didn't see it, at least in the video. It's very grainy. Did he just disassemble the rifle on this on the roof? Like, that takes time. A bolt action rifle.
You can't just like diff disassemble that. There's so I have questions, and I think the defense is going to use that. I agree. There are a lot of questions here. And even the communications that we already know about The number of people that knew ahead of time or told that something was going to happen.
It did seem like there were a lot of people that knew about it.
So, who helped? And there hasn't been a lot of information released. And the other thing is: folks are saying, well, he confessed to this person, he confessed to that person.
Well, we have your say. Rules and you are not allowed to introduce out-of-court statements to prove. Can't say He told me this on that day.
Now there are exceptions to that, and I'm hoping that these prosecutors are really good attorneys and can navigate those. exceptions. But you're right. It's not When a defendant complains Yeah. Um It's very difficult to Cross Q.
We saw that in the Kohlberger case, those heinous, heinous murders. Um And it was very hard for the prosecutors to Uh uh but move the case forward until he finally Confess, and you know, that trial was going on, but he did, he ended up confessing. There are ways to pressure these defendants to do that, you know, groping in their families. You don't want to put your bomb through this.
So I'm hoping Um that in the case The Charlie Kirk assassin that he will. Uh you know it's not going to help him to To just clam up, especially if they go to trial and he's found guilty. That is just more. And I would like to see the Mm-hmm. Yeah.
If he doesn't want the death penalty, you better start working with prosecutors. computers. Yeah, it's it's I find it interesting that if someone tells me they, yeah, that was me in the picture, because his parents turned him in and God bless them, they should get the credit where credit is due because I know so many people who would never turn their kid in. But I think they were smart, they did it because they didn't want him taken by force with the possibility of him dying.
So they love him so much that they wanted to make sure that that didn't happen.
So kudos to his parents. But to say, yeah, my son told me that's him in the video, my son told me he did it. Right, or his mom says, Yeah, he told me he did it. You can't you can't allow that in court. There are exceptions to let it in, but no, I'm I've If one of the exceptions is that that you cannot use out-of-course Statement.
To prove the truth of the matter asserted in a trial. Um now There are exceptions, and like I said, I bet that there are certain exceptions that apply. But it is, it's difficult, and you have to be. You have to be a good attorney. And I'm sure the state has put their best prosecutors on this case.
Um particularly because it's so high profile. Um These things are never certain. And like you said, there are a lot of questions that have yet to be answered, and we haven't gotten a lot of details Um in the in the past. you know two weeks. the day or two afterwards, we got some new details, but since then, we haven't gotten a whole lot.
And so there are lots of questions. and the entire country is watching.
Well, I'm not a I'm not a lawyer, but I watch a lot of Judge Judy.
Well, I used to, not so much anymore. But um Since they moved her time, I'm not a huge, I don't get to watch it. But, you know, she does not allow hearsay that someone said that someone said, but if I'm in her courtroom and I say he told me he did it, I can do that in Judge Judy's courtroom.
So I think, and it's not an exception. She doesn't let you say, like, I can't say, well, Luke told me that Todd said. I can't do that. But if Todd tells me directly, I can say that in Judge Judy's courtroom.
So I think maybe we can learn from her because she is America's judge. Yes. Judge Judy is America's judge, and she is fantastic. And every time she does it in an interview, which is rare, I I Tune in. She has a lot of common sense.
Yeah, she does. You know, very quickly, because we have like, I've got like two minutes here, two or three minutes before I start getting yelled at. I want to talk about these flyers that are at Georgetown because this kind of goes into this whole thing about Antifa. Have you seen this? I don't know if you have you seen this about the flyers at Georgetown?
Yes. I mean, it's basically celebrating my. murder or promoting violence. Really? scary.
And I think Illegal. I mean, it's clearly promoting violence. And so I want to know, I haven't looked in the past couple of hours since I saw it this morning, whether Georgetown has it has released a statement or anything yet, but I did see it more Yeah, I have not seen a statement from Georgetown and, you know, let's face it, Jesuits. I went to a school with Augustinians, so there's a little rivalry there. But Andrew Covet, who's the executive producer of the Charlie Kirk Show in Turning Point USA, shared an image of a flyer that's at Georgetown for people who haven't seen it.
And it says, hey, fascist catch, which was on one of the bullets that the alleged shooter was shooting at Charlie Kirk. He left it there so it could be found. That's like the new thing, engraving a bullet. Like that's the new thing with these terrorists. And it says, the only political group that celebrates when Nazis die.
There's a QR code on the flyer. And if you take a picture of that QR code, it takes you to a group that refers to itself as the Georgetown John Brown Club. And their page reads, We're building a community that's done with ceremonial resistance and strongly worded letters. If you want to make a real change in your community, let us know. But then there's no more other information.
But you're right, this promulgates violent and hateful rhetoric. They use the term fascist, they use the term Nazi the whole bit on Georgetown's campus. The last question I'm going to ask you as we go out here: have we entered a new phase, or is this been a long time coming? And that all these cells that have been operating in our country for so long behind the scenes are now not afraid to show their face? Look, Ann Coulter wrote 15 years ago, the book Demonic, I think it it was published in maybe 2011.
And how basically talking about the leftist mob and the evil. I think that this is a long time coming. We are seeing it manifest. clearly now, but those of us who have been paying attention have known that the left is is Honestly, evil has infiltrated much of the left. We need to be aware, we need to call it out.
And I appreciate so much our President and our Vice President using their platforms to call it out. 100%. Luke Simple, thank you so much for joining me. Such a pleasure to speak with you. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you, Mary. Talk to you. More coming up on the Todd Stern Show. It's Crumble's birthday, and we're celebrating with a sweet deal. Today only, you can get a 6 pack of crumble for the price of a 4 pack.
That's six fresh gourmet desserts for the price of four. Treat yourself. Bring a friend. or share with family, because birthdays are better when everybody gets a little something special. Don't miss it.
Six or four desserts today only at Crumble. All right, coming up, I swear, I swear, we're going to get. Should Jinx call me? If it's the last thing I do on this show. We're gonna get to James Ogome.
Hey, you know, yesterday we talked a little bit about the New Jersey gubernatorial race and the Virginia gubernatorial race. And big news out of New Jersey. New Jersey, the two, the Democrat and the Republican candidate are tied. Tied.
So this is huge, and this is a big bellwether, as we discussed yesterday, for the midterms. I mean, can you imagine if New Jersey can flip red and Virginia can maintain the gubernatorialship with wins of win some All-Stears. Great woman. That would just be huge for this country and for the Trump administration. All right, we're going to get to that coming up on the Todd Starn show.
Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun-totin, Bible-clanging, deplorable American. That's right. I love this American ride. Todd Starn. And welcome back to the Todd Starn Show.
I'm Miriam Walter. In for Toddies, back with you on Monday. You can reach out to me on X at Mary Walter Radio. And my friend Ron reached out to me to tell me, hey, I have an AOL email account. I was like, Okay, sorry.
Oops, my bad.
So, some people do still have AOL email accounts. 908-260-KWAM. 901-260-5926 is my number if you would like to jump in here on anything we're talking about.
Now, I don't care what happens next, but we are getting to this story about James Comey, all right? And you're going to listen to it and you're going to enjoy it. Yeah. Okay. Because this is great.
I love this because we always talk, you know, what do we always say we want? We want accountability. I want accountability. And it's so much, if you have a D after your name, there's no accountability. You know, cases just miraculously get dropped.
Charges are never brought. We're like, oh, well, it was just an accident. Didn't mean to do it. There's all that, right?
Okay. So Former FBI Director James Comey, according to MSNBC, they reported this yesterday, he is expected. to be indicted on criminal charges in the coming days in a Federal court in Virginia. All right, we go to cut two? Are you ready to hear this in all its deliciousness?
Hit it, Dylan. We have some sources who say that for several weeks now, the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Virginia, and actually in offices that are Potentially much further south than Alexandria, have been eyeing ways to indict Comey, and they are getting very much closer. The Statute of Limits, forgive me, rephrase, they are arguing that Comey, there is evidence to suggest Comey lied to Congress in his testimony on the Hill in September of 2020. And for viewers out in the audience, Who may not be legally as nerdy as me and Ken, I'll just say that there's a statute of limitations.
to charge people with the crime of lying to Congress or perjury, and that's five years. The five-year statute runs this month.
So what exactly is he accused of lying about? All right. So here you go.
So, what is he accused of lying about? And Here's the thing. I um The statute of limitations expire on Tuesday.
So this has to be done because the statute of limitations ran out on Brennan for lying in front of Congress, et cetera, for perjury, because it was never charged under the Biden administration because they were doing God's work.
So The Eastern U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia just resigned. Under pressure from the Trump administration after opposing the filing of charges against Comey in that district. He didn't want to do it, so they're like, okay, we're going to put pressure on you. You don't want to do it.
He decided to resign. Fine, that's the way it should be. The prosecutor was replaced as interim U. S. Attorney.
On Monday, by Lindsey Halligan, who represented Trump in legal cases in the past. In social media posts, Trump has called Comey guilty as hell.
Now, here's the thing. Ted Cruz, in a December 2020 letter to the DOJ, wrote that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe had admitted knowing about and authorizing the leak. Cruz wrote that while McCabe has insisted that Comey was aware of his decision to authorize the disclosure, Comey has denied it. And he says, quote, Mr. Comey and Mr.
McCabe's statements are irreconcilably. Say that four times fast. Mr. McCabe says that he has told Mr. Comey of the leak and that Mr.
Comey approved, effectively authorizing the leak after the fact. Mr. Comey, on the other hand, has said that he neither authorized the leak nor knew of McCabe's involvement. Cruz wrote: One of them is lying under oath a federal crime, but the Biden administration chose not to do anything because the Biden administration is up to their eyeballs in the whole thing. At least Biden is.
So they've all gotten away with it, and Comey is the last man standing. He was the last one to testify.
So there you go.
So he's going to be the one that's going to go down on this if charges are filed.
Now, uh Kendallanian. Is an MSNBC reporter posted on X yesterday. The full extent of the charges being prepared against Comey is unclear, but we do know that a grand jury. has been seated. and is hearing this and deciding whether to bring an indictment.
So let's go to cut three.
Now this is Stephen Miller. Cracks me up. With Laura, he's always on with Laura Ingram. Corax me up, here's Stephen Miller talking about the possibility of James Comey being indicted. But I'm always happy to talk about Former FBI, disgraced former FBI director James Comey, who of course is corrupt, who of course has been engaged in vast amounts of illicit and unlawful conduct, who of course was at the center of the Russiate attack and assault on American democracy.
There are so many people. Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Monaco, all across the government under previous administrations who have worked tirelessly to try to dismantle our democracy. And it has to lead somewhere to accountability level. Yeah, there's got to be accountability. We have been saying this.
This was what we were saying all along. Remember how frustrated we were during the last administration? When all of these things, we knew all this stuff happened, everything that happened when Trump, as Trump was coming down the escalator, how they tried to impeach. A president, uh, an elected president, duly elected president of the United States, they tried to subvert democracy by by painting him, hanging a cons uh a scandal on him that didn't exist and he it was totally made up by them. By Obama, by Biden, Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Lisa Strzok, Paige, Nellie Ort, all of them, the whole crew, deep, and they've all walked away and gotten away with it.
And the last one standing right now at this point, as I said, is James Comey, the last one. And he needs to be invited. We need some kind of of closure. While people people like um Peter Oh, totally blanking on his last name, went to jail. People white hair, oh gosh, totally went to and anyway.
He he was arrested at the airport. Part of the Trump administration. He was right. Look what they did to General Flynn. Look what they did to him.
They ruined him They bankrupted him On a lie, on entrapment and a lie. And no one has been brought to justice. They've walked away with their pensions. They've walked away to gigs on MSNBC. They got away with it, which is why you see this stuff keep happening over and over and over again because they think they can just walk away, and they have.
This is why you see so many lower-level employees who just decide they're not going to do their job because it's Donald Trump, get away with just not doing their job because it's Donald Trump. And we can't keep enabling it.
So, um Speaking of which, speaking of which, and we're going to talk also about Epstein. I know a lot of people don't like to talk about Epstein. Why don't we keep talking about it? Because there's been some developments. in the Epstein thing.
And it's going to be very interesting to see how this goes. And I've got audio.
So we'll have that coming up because we don't have a lot of time for it right now, okay?
So Google. Told House lawmakers that it would reinstate YouTube accounts that the Biden administration pressed them to remove. Over content related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, remember, they were also pressured to remove any kind of information having to do with the Hunter Biden laptop.
So the Biden administration and the Obama administration were very involved in censoring Americans, and nobody was screaming about First Amendment rights then. What do we hear over and over again? That's misinformation. You're publishing lies, and people could be hurt. Right, we took over and over again.
Back then, censoring free speech was noble. It was a it was a trait that we should respect. It was noble. Alphabet Chief Counsel Daniel Donovan told members of the House Judiciary Committee that the forty sixth Administration created a political atmosphere that sought to influence the actions of platforms based on their concerns regarding misinformation. It is unacceptable and wrong when any government, including the Biden administration, attempts to dictate how the company moderates content.
And the company has consistently fought against those efforts on First Amendment grounds. But it was so interesting, they did it. They caved. They didn't stand up for First Amendment rights. They didn't stand up for it.
No. And we know that people from the administration were actually put on the board at some of these companies so that they could just get in there and censor at will. They allowed it and they worked with them on it.
Now they're trying to play both sides of the fence. Because misinformation, it's misinformation. It's bad, you're not allowed to lie. I'm like, well, wait a minute, if misinformation is bad, like what's going on with the White House? But then it's different.
And did you notice now, Jimmy Kimmel lied? Right, Jimmy Kennel totally, absolutely lied, and it wasn't in the form of a joke, it was just a statement, political statement that was a lie, and they're screaming about bringing him back. Not one of them has said anything about misinformation. And the Media Research Center, they analyze, they go through all of these. I don't know how they do it if they have people who are tasked, some poor interns tasked with listening to all these shows or what.
They analyzed the news reports from ABC, NBC, and CBS and the amount of time that they spent on. On, I think it was the Kirk shooting, but the amount of time, bottom line, how much they spent on this story about Google and the Biden administration. Zero, not even a second, not even like 20 seconds, zero time educating their audience on what the Biden administration did. We have a problem with our media. It's a big problem.
And this is why I think you're seeing viewership go down and listenership go down to certain on certain shows like Kimmel, etc. I mean, his ratings have gone down every year for the past 12 years. And you start to see people turning more and more to some of these podcasts. I think it's Theo Vaughn has like 8 million people who watch his podcast. There's more than watch Jimmy Kimmel.
So, I think we're going to have a reckoning in a lot of different ways. And I think this country is going to be very, very different in 2028, or at least I hope that it's going to be different in 2028. Or either that, or we're going to be in the midst of a load of upheaval as we try to get through the change that I do think is coming. Also, another caller says AOL has served him well.
Well, I'm glad. I'm glad. I just don't know a lot of people who have AOL addresses, that's all. I Didn't know that. Look at that.
You learn something new every day. Coming up. Epstein. James O'Keefe the little sting And I'm going to give you the details. And what you can hear with your own ears coming up on the Todd Stern Show.

Dylan's been helping me here. Keeping me on track. which is wonderful.
So um Here's the thing. In Arizona, There's a woman named Adelita Grevalia.
Now she's a Nepo baby because her dad, Rawl Grov, Raul Raul Grevalia is uh A politician. I think he's a congressman. Pretty sure.
So she's an apple baby. And she won a special election 'cause she's got the last name and name recognition really, really helps in these elections because there's a lot of people, sadly enough, that that go to vote 'cause like I was told to vote, I have to go vote. And so they recognize the name and that's who they pulled the lever for. based on literally nothing else but the last name. Not good.
Well, she won a special election for a House seat in Arizona. And she has committed to signing on to what's called a discharge petition that would force action on a vote. To force the Trump administration to release its investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein. They need the signatures of a majority of the House, two hundred and eighteen members, to succeed. She would be the two hundred and eighteenth.
Their shy one vote.
Now, it's going to take time for the measure. to make it through. Come to a vote. It's co-sponsored by Thomas Massey and RoConna, so it's bipartisan. Massey, seriously, dude.
Uh Ms. Grevalia's signature would be all but certain to force Mike Johnson and Republican leaders to confront this issue that they were trying to hope they were hoping was just going to go away.
Now, she cannot sign the discharge petition until she's sworn in, and that's not expected until early next month. Then, once the petition has two hundred and eighteen signatures, it's still. Can't be acted upon for seven legislative days when the House is in session.
Now as of this week, the House is not scheduled to return to session until october seventh. Although if there's a shutdown, members may have to return before then.
So The house leaders do have some procedural maneuvers that they can use to stop this from going through. And the reason that this is so interesting, and I wanted to bring it to you, is James O'Keefe, who was formerly with Project Veritas, which I think is gone now. has a O'Keeffe Media Group, OMG. And he's still doing what he did with Prime Minister. Project Veritas, which was get he has citizen reporters, people who volunteer, and they wear video and audio, right?
And they record these conversations with people like pharmaceutical people and all this other stuff. And this recording is with a A man who says that he was with uh CI Egg. and he has been in investigating the whole Epstein issue. And it takes place at an airport. at excuse me at Houston Airport.
So listen to this. And here, now you can't hear the recording because it's really hard to hear because it was in an airport. But James O'Keefe recaps. What was said? Overheard at Phoenix Airport on September 8th, 2025, a senior Justice Department investigator who personally worked on the Epstein case.
Tells all. Glenn Prager, who has reviewed Epstein itineraries and has interviewed Epstein's victims. Drops a bombshell. He says that the DOJ did not want to go after Epstein. Because he's a CIA asset, that the evidence from his investigation confirms that Bill Clinton was present for alleged rapes.
on the Lolita Express and that President Trump Was not present for the rapes that Glenn Prager investigated, but that he is protecting. A lot of other people. It were.
So, the people who are pushing for this to be released may not want it. This Glenn Prager was a Jeffrey Epstein investigator in the DOJ.
Now, to be fair, it is posted here. James O'Keefe posted that Prager reached out offering a response saying I was approached in what I believed was a casual, non-professional context and later learned the individual was misrepresenting themselves, thinking it was simply a personal banter. I responded in kind. Any remarks from that exchange should not be interpreted as accurate statements or reflective of my actual work.
So, to make it perfectly clear, I was not involved in any way, and any opinions are based on public information.
So there you go.
So maybe he's just trying to be a big man. We'll find out. They may regret this. There's more coming up on the Todd Starn Show. Hey, welcome back to the Todd Starring Show.
We've been talking a lot about the First Amendment on this. Thursday, actually, all we've been talking about. We're just talking about how Google admitted that the Biden administration wanted them to censor our free speech and our First Amendment.

So we're just talking about Epstein like that and how cool would it be? This happens a lot. And I was kind of having this discussion with Dylan. Have you noticed with Donald Trump? Donald Trump knows what's in the Epstein quote-unquote files, what's in the records, what's in the investigation.
He knows. And so the left, and this rabid desire to force him to release it. Because it's going to incriminate Donald Trump and then we can impeach him and he's no longer going to be president. We're going to get rid of him. It's so short sighted.
Because if there was anything there, are you telling me that Obama didn't know? Are you going to tell me like they wouldn't have released anything? When Donald Trump came down the escalator, if they had anything on him, anything bad They would have released it then, right then and there, but nothing. And then you could say, well, you know, a lot of the stuff about. Epstein wasn't known until later in the 20 teens.
And so, you know, maybe Obama didn't have it.
Okay, maybe he didn't. But while Trump was in office, do you want me to you want me to believe that the Deep State wouldn't have leaked that information? They instead they decided to create a scandal. And get a whole bunch of people to get in on it and lie and create this information and hire Christopher Steele and do this whole Russiagate thing, this whole hoax, and Vinman leaking the, you know, a perfectly fine phone call with Ukraine leaking that out and then having them take it and make it, you know, you leak it, we'll make it criminal. They did all of that.
Instead of just leaking out Donald Trump's involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, that he had done something wrong. They didn't do that. Remember when Rachel Maddow got his tax returns and it was like. It was like a Geraldo with Al Capone's vault. There was nothing.
There was a big nothing burger. If there was something about Donald Trump in his taxes, that would have been linked out immediately.
So the same people that are fighting for this are not thinking ahead. Because as you just heard, From James O'Keefe, and I highly recommend if you want to hear the whole thing. Go to O'Keefe Media or go to James O'Keeffe on On X And it's right there, and you can listen to the whole thing. And there was more that we could have played, but again, it's super hard to hear because it was recorded in an airport, and there's a lot of background noise. But you can understand what's being said with the subtitles.
And then he will recap it for you. But they're not thinking ahead. And I think this is just going to be another one of those things where we're going to go, uh-oh, I don't think this is such a good idea. And they're going to push for it. And we're probably going to find some Democrats who are going to go down here.
And who are going to be embarrassed and maybe indicated criminally, and they're going to regret pushing to bring this to light. That's just me. Because if there was anything negative about Donald Trump, the easiest way to have get to get him off out of office would have been to somehow indict him with the whole Epstein thing. Like, this is what he did. You know, this is a terrible thing he did.
So listen to this. Well, there's two things. I want to go back to Charlie Kirk. And I don't know if you heard this, Megan Kelly talking about this.
So there's a website called Jezebel, and it started out as a website for like women, women-owned businesses, like an Etsy, but just for women. That's how it kind of started. And it's now delved into this whole like witches thing, you know, because women, I don't know, but it devolved into this whole weird witches left-wing thing.
So apparently Jezebel, it's a feminist website. They published a story by an unnamed author because here's the thing: if you're gonna go out and you're gonna, you're brave enough to publish this and you think it's so important, but you don't wanna put your name on it. That tells me you're a coward and then I doubt whatever it is that you're putting out. I just do. Right or left.
I don't care. I'm going to doubt it. And I understand why some people, like if you're a whistleblower, you don't want your name out there. I get it. But if you're publishing a story and you firmly believe this story and you know it's not going to be popular because you're going after Charlie Kirk.
Have the guts to put your name on it, sweetheart. You're a big, strong, powerful woman, but you want to be anonymous.
So. Mm. Anyway.
So this story on this website was Was the author bragging how she paid witches on Etsy to curse? Charlie Kirk just two days before he was assassinated. And Megan Kelly was on, she was on her show, and she was mad. She said, This is what I want you all. This is what I want you all and the people at Jezebel and Etsy to know.
Erica and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses, and that news genuinely rattled Erica in particular. She knew Christian teaching on this subject, she loved Charlie absolutely, and she was scared when she heard the curses that Jezebel had called up. The article was published on september eighth, and it slammed Ch uh Charlie Kirk as being a far right misogynist, because you know, we have to call names and with zero zero any kind of anything to back it up. And the unnamed reporter detailed how she paid witches on the global online marketplace Etsy for quote multiple curses to punish him for his years of regressive rhetoric. And Kelly said, Why would you?
Megan Kelly makes a great point. Why would you torture a family like this, a Christian-believing family? Family. Why do this vile thing to a young couple? parents to two babies, living in accordance with the gospel, deeply in love, and yes, political, but doing nothing other than speaking publicly about their views and their desires to make other people's lives better.
Who would do such a vile thing? Jezebel, that's who, and unbelievably Etsy, and the people behind this evil should be called out. I agree. The publication immediately added an editor's note to the story condemning the heinous act of violence because I guess they thought this is never going to come to fruition. You know, it's witches casting a spell.
and they have since removed the article from their web page. Kelly called on Jezebel to shutter and identify to close down, identify the female reporter behind the article, and they urged Etsy to stop allowing witches to sell curses and return back to being an arts and crafts and jewelry website. But um Yeah, they she had to go and and meet with uh her priest to talk about this the night before. He was shot. The night before he was killed.
What I you know, I I People have to be careful. Do I believe in witches' curses? No, I don't. Maybe I'm an idiot. I don't.
But I I think people have to be very, very careful with what they put out. And like I said, she didn't have the guts to put her name on it.
So that says to me that she knew that she was doing something wrong. that she th there's a reason why and she's coward And she in her heart of hearts knew that what she was doing was wrong. That's me. Like she so believed it that she put her money she put her money there. because she knew no one would trace it.
Because no one would know who she is. But she didn't have the guts to put her name on it. And that is cowardly and that's what cowards do. Also, Charlie Kirk. I don't know if you saw the video of two Arkansas sisters who trashed, they vandalized a Charlie Kirk memorial.
There were candles and signs on the courthouse steps in Benton County in honor of Charlie Kirk. And they trashed the whole thing. And they're so righteous, giving the finger to the person who's videoing it, screaming and yelling, you know, F, Charlie Kirk, you know, acting so brave, and they're so out there.
Well, They found out that consequences that actions have consequences. And their sisters Carrie and Kaylee Rollo. Carrie's twenty three, Kaylee's twenty-two. And, you know, they're. they're gonna be rocket scientists and have a sure I'm sure they have, you know, a really um fruitful life ahead of them.
And Kaylee wrote they had to put it together and go find me. Kaylee wrote, My sibling and I are being doxxed online, and my sibling was fired from their job, not her job, their job.
So they got that going on, too. Like the the stereotypes just keep checking they just keep checking the boxes. Please help my sibling while they look for another job and stand against the tyranny that is creeping into the country.
Now, it turns out that they but they were censoring speech by kicking over the memorial. They couldn't just walk past it and let it be. They had to censor it. They had to shut it down. And they don't even see the irony.
And Carrie, who uses they pronouns, in the video flipping off the camera, film all you want. Yeah, big, big, big talker there, Carrie. Carrie added, Charlie Kirk died as he lived, promoting violence. And then just kept yelling at Charlie Kirk because that's all they have, because they're super angry and can't control themselves, even though they're adults. Carrie added, Charlie Kirk, oh, I already read that.
Okay. So Kerry yeah, Kerry added, uh, you know, he died as he lived and blah blah blah.
So law enforcement catches wind of the video. The sisters were arrested September 17th, and after they arrested Kerry. Was fired from work at an Arkansas restaurant, and Kaylee's boyfriend dumped her, and she was living with him, and he made her move out because he was living with his mom. The entire generation is a disaster.
Well, not all of them. Kaylee has the mother, Lacey Christian, who's the mother of Kaylee's ex, told the Daily Mail: Kaylee has lived in my home now for over a year, and I have never once cut her down or not allowed her to have the beliefs that she has.
However, I will not allow someone living in my home to be okay or celebrate a murder. I will never allow someone to live in my home who is okay with destroying a memorial for someone.
So, as of yesterday afternoon, the sisters still have managed to raise nearly $15,000, which they say will go to legal counsel and court fees. But here's the thing: now, they were both charged with first-degree criminal mischief, they were both freed on a bond worth $22,500 together. But here's the thing. They're making the money because there are people who are donating the minimum, which is five bucks, just so they can tell them what horrible people they are. Stop doing it.
They're going to make the money they need. I know you want to do it. Don't do it. Don't give him the money. Stop giving them the money.
I know it makes you feel better, but stop it Stop it.

Would you like some good news to end your day? Go into Friday? Besides the fact that I am going to be with you tomorrow, I mean, like, does the news get any better than that? Actually, Todd's back on Monday. There's your good news.
Yeah, regarding the economy.
So we talked yesterday about the government possibly shutting down the deadline September 30th, as it happens every single year. Twice a year now, because we just keep doing continuing resolutions, so it happens on a regular basis.
Some good news, though, the White House may be able to capitalize on this. It may actually work in their favor, which is probably why that audio I played for you yesterday. Of Chuck Schumer saying, we'll meet the president on the golf course. We'll meet him. They want it.
They really, really, really. I want to meet with Donald Trump.
Well, thousands of government employees could permanently lose their jobs if Congress doesn't reach an agreement to fund the government by October 1st. Russ Vought, who is the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Is instructing agencies to send RIF notices, reduction in force notices, which is a very nice way of saying, you fired. For all employees, in programs that are not consistent with the President's priorities. He is also indicating that programs that receive money in the One Big Beautiful bill will not be targeted.
So he's setting up a two-track approach for the administration to capitalize on this. Jobs would be spared in programs that are focused on border security, immigration enforcement, and national defense. Entire programs could be hollowed out if vote determines that they are not consistent with the president's agenda.
So Chuckishmakishumer is saying, There is nothing new this is nothing new and has nothing to do with funding the government. These unnecessary firings will either be overturned in court or the administration will end up hiring the workers back just as they did recently. Maybe. We'll see. The House passed the short-term spending bill last week, but it failed in the Senate.
It needs at least eight Democratic votes to clear a 60-vote procedural hurdle. Schumer allowed a six-month spending bill to move forward in March, but was torched by his progressive base. Remember, they wanted him, they were after him because he said, I'm just going to do the six-month, we're just going to do a progressive. He tried to be bipartisan, and his base let him have it.
So now he's under pressure not to compromise again or at least win some significant policy concession for supplying the votes to keep the government open. Republicans are insisting that a short-term bill should not have major policy changes attached to it. Like it's just a bill. Like not We're going to do this, just a bill, just a budget. Jon Thune, the Senate Majority Leader, is open to discussing some of the Democrats' requests like extending premium tax credits for Obamacare health insurance, but they want these these they want health insurance to continue for people in the country illegally.
And Republicans, rightfully so, are saying, yeah, no, not going to happen. No, no, no, no. And I'm glad they're standing strong. For once, they're standing strong. We'll see what happens.
That watched that coalition crumble at the last minute in Republicans' Cave. We'll see. But here's some good news. The U. S.
economy's comeback in the second quarter was just revised higher again. Did you notice during the Biden administration, they always had to revise lower? With the Trump administration, they're always having to revise higher. Economists estimated that That momentum carried on in the third quarter. GDP rose at an annualized rate of 3.8% from April through June, significantly higher than the 3.3% rate reported in the second estimate, and well above the 3% initially reported.
So I just find it so interesting that because they know that the big announcement of here's the GDP, oh, it grew slower than expected under Trump. That's the big, the big line. And they know they're not going to go back and report the revision. That's not going to happen. But there's your good news going into your Friday.
I'll be back with you tomorrow. Dylan will be here. Hopefully, Cassie will be here as well. And you will be here, hopefully, on the Todd Starring Show. See you then.
