Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. Welcome to the Todd Starn Show. How are you? We're almost halfway through. At the end of today, you're halfway through.
From here, it's a big slide down towards the weekend. I'm Mary Walter in for Todd Starns. Todd is at the, in LA. At the Spiritual Leadership Conference, he will be joining you back on Monday.
So, please don't get all panicky that Todd.
Sometimes that happens when Todd's not here because you guys love him so much, which I think is amazing. He's got such a great audience that you'll call in. Is he all right? Is he sick? Is everything okay?
So, not to worry about it. He will be back with you on Monday. I get to be with you, though, for tomorrow and Friday as well. Super excited about that. Joining us today, who else is going to be with us?
Liz Peake will be joining us. You know her from Fox News, she's a contributor, columnist there, and she is. She's just such a great guest. She is one of my favorites.
So I'm super happy that we have Liz here, and I get to talk to her again.
So there's a lot going on. It's it's It never stops. Like, I don't know what is happening, but I don't remember. Do you guys ever remember it being this exhausting and tiring just getting up in the morning? It's not even noon, right?
Like, it's not even noon yet, depending on where you live. And I was just like, I'm exhausted. I have a headache. I have to go back to bed. Like, it just doesn't stop.
It's unbelievable.
So, yeah, so now we have this shooting in Texas. At an ICE facility, we really don't know a whole lot, but as we go on, we'll bring you more as more details come out. If they come out, I don't know if they're going to come out. We'll see as we go along. Officials say that no ICE agents were injured, but we now know that two people are dead.
There were three injured.
Now, just before we got on the air, I was listening, and they said that there were now two. Two deceased. There were no police officers, no ICE agents hurt.
So we can only surmise, we don't know, and this could be wrong, that so what was going on is that they were in an unmarked white van and they pulled into what's called the Sallyport, where you transfer detainees into the building. And they have a gate that closes, you know, so that if they get out, they can't run, you know, that type of thing. They're, you know, in an enclosed area. There was a shooter on a rooftop, I would assume, that had near there across the street from the Sally port, and got off.
Now That's from what I understand. And again, take this all. It's very loose. They know very little right now.
So just take this as we go. All right.
So three-shot. Two dead, and that includes the shooter.
So that means three, two dead, including the shooter.
So that means that there is one. Person who was killed who was in that van. We assume that they were in the van. They haven't told us yet. They're holding it playing and close to their vest.
But we do know that on the shell casing of one of the bullets and they're they were big, they were they were not this was not a handgun it says anti ICE.
So that's the new thing now. These domestic terrorists and that's another thing we can talk about, but these domestic terrorists are leaving their messages on the bullets. Like that's that's their thing now. But the problem is, we don't have domestic terrorism laws in this country. I was listening to Paul Morrow, and he was saying that this has got to change.
We need Congress to come up with some kind of anti-terrorism law, domestic terrorism law in this country. And because of our freedom of speech, we have such a robust, strong First Amendment, which is great. And I don't want to see that change. I believe in free speech. You can be as hateful as you want.
Listen. The ACLU back in the day fought for the right of the KKK to march down Main Street, and Skokie.
So we have that right. You just don't have the right to be offended.
However,. For the first time, I at least I in my memory, I don't know, but I think for the first time in this country, we have this domestic terrorism problem where they want to bring the government down. And oh they want they want left these are leftists, in my humble opinion. These are leftists, at least who want to get rid of ICE. And we keep being told that, you know, um Antifa doesn't exist.
Antifa doesn't exist. It's weird because there's an organization called Rose City Antifa. How does it not exist? But they're smart, it's loosely organized, but they somehow are also very organized. I'm not saying this person is Antifa.
I don't know that. We don't even know if it was a man or a woman. My hunch is, and I could be wrong on this one. If I were a betting woman, I'd go over sixty white men. That's me.
I could be 100% wrong, 100%. But um It's they're we're starting to come up with Profiles, I guess.
So he wrote, as I said, anti-ice on one of the bullets. He has now killed two people. including himself, At an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Field office in Dallas before he took his own life.
So we even have questions as to the number of people who have been killed and whether it includes the shooter.
So There was a news briefing in Dallas. They did not say a whole lot, which is why we don't know a whole lot.
So let's go to Cut 10. Here's a little bit of what we know from that. That presser that they had today, and this is the FBI special agent in charge at the press conference this morning. Early evidence. that we've seen.
From rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature.
Alright, so and if they're shoot listen, if they're shooting at the ice facility, I don't know. We pretty much already knew that you were anti-ICE. We don't think you were doing it in support of ICE.
So there's that. It was some kind of, say, it might have been a sniper or some sort of long-form shot. If you want to jump in, and people already do, and I love this: 901-260-5926, 901-260-5926, or you can reach out to me on X at Mary Walter Radio.
Okay, so I'm going to introduce this person. This is weird, but Cassie's telling me this is how Todd always introduces him as well as Black conservative from Germantown, Tennessee. All right, Black Conservative from Germantown, Tennessee. Good morning. Hi.
Good morning to you. How are you today? Good, I'm so cool. I'm glad that you're cool with that introduction. It was against everything that I wanted I wanted to ever come out of my mouth.
Well, I'm the most erudite mind, brilliant thinker Brilliant thinker and political philosopher. Absolutely. I'm going to inform you of some things here. But they to take my car. You know, I'm just kind of very blunt about it.
Our this attack on Ice Agency. Law enforcement. I don't know if it's through It it's pure. From the left. This is Democrats.
Fueling this kind of stuff. with their Irresponsible statements that they make on Twitter and wherever I was. media. Professor Omar, they need to ship her out of the country. I'm sick of her.
Yeah. They need to need to go back 'cause he To see uh It's anti-American. But beyond that Um They These things are happening. because I think Democrat leaders in these Sanctuary City is Yeah. a safe haven for this kind of thing to happen and exist.
a sniper. They're not trying to help. Uh ice. You know, immigration custom enforcement. But they are fueling this, and we need to call them out.
They're not coming out speaking against it. You know, they're not condemning it. They're not denouncing it. you know, they they're quiet about it.
So uh this is you know this I just think this is Through are aided and embedded by uh Democrat politicians, leaders in these cities who are in control. And we know that we know that the c that's the case because Here in Memphis. You know. You had Mayor Script. Excellent.
A couple of years ago. What you know, welcome immigrants here. and staying at Memphis It's it's going to be a sanctuary city? No. Blah da Yeah, so This is what happened when these things happen like this.
I think that They need to, you know, call these uh Democrat Congressman. you know Politicians uh and for a hearing. Because the this just can't This is happening so much. Which tells me that Somebody is somebody is not looking out for the ICE agencies when they get there.
Well, they don't normally, they said in the press conference that they don't normally, or they were talking about it afterwards, maybe with Paul Morrow, that they don't normally have, you know, you know, people looking for snipers on the roof and that type of thing because they're usually not shot at when this happens. But they're going to have to start and start, I guess, fortifying this stuff like they're the Secret Service and the president's getting out of the vehicle. I, to your point, I agree with you 100% about the rhetoric. And what I would love to see, and I was saying this as I'm watching this, and because Ted Cruz is saying the rhetoric has to stop. Great, but when they try to censure Ilhan Omar on the floor of Congress, five Republicans vote against censoring her because of free speech.
Fine. What they should do is, I would love to see, and if anyone in the administration is listening, put together a video montage of the comments made by prominent people, right or left, my hunch is it's all going to be left about ICE, that they're Hitler, that they're stormtroopers, that they're abducting people off the streets. All of the rhetoric that they've Been saying, snippet, snippet, snippet, snippet, quick, quick, quick, quick. Do a montage and expose them all and play it over and over and over again and trot it out every single time one of these things happen to hang it on them. The public needs to know what they're saying and then the action that are now ensuing.
And I agree with you, from the heated rhetoric, from the irresponsible comments being made by people who should know better. And I think it would go a long way. Yeah, I I can here. Democrats are doing this. Yeah.
Thorny Rock is hiding their hands. They're doing this. their heads. They're doing this. And when I what I say They might they I'm not saying there Democrat politicians and senators are directly No.
hands-on involved. but by their silence alone not speaking out against it. Yeah. And forth forthfully forcefully speaking against it. give their uh credence to it.
So But Yeah, so um But thanks. Yeah, I appreciate you joining me, kicking it off. I love when we get callers. Thank you so much. Have a wonderful, wonderful rest of your week.
Cause all downhill from here. I have a crazy busy week and a crazy busy week next week. Weekend going into a cr I gets. Saturday evening and Sunday morning off, so I'm excited about that.

So, what was their intention? I know you like he shot somebody, but did he mean to?
So this new i Intention limits test, which of course is impossible because you can't read somebody's mind, but they apparently can. The rate where you're going to manslaughter will soon be a misdemeanor. Yeah. Pretty much. It's pretty much where we're headed.
All right.
Let's talk a little bit about a guy whose name you may remember. Think very hard. Do you remember a guy named Peter Strzok? Remember him? Strzok and Page?
Remember that? Almost ten years ago. Do you realize it's been almost ten years? He has finally lost, but not over yet, because he can appeal. Again, federal government workers just feel that they have the right to do whatever they want or not do in their jobs, and they can never be fired.
That's the way it's always been. My father told me. He said, looking for a job because I'm telling you, get a job with the government. Telling you now, it may not be exciting, it may not be glamorous, but you'll have that job forever. You'll retire at 55, 60.
You're going to have benefits, you'll have health care for your whole life, and you'll never be fired, and your salary will never go down, it's only going to go up. And you'll get every holiday known to Manoff. He said it's the best, best job you could ever have. I was an idiot and didn't listen to him. And I can now say, and I've said it over again: yes, you were right, Dad, I'm an idiot.
Because apparently they don't think they can ever be fired.
So Strzok sued. Because President Trump fired him. Because if President Trump fires somebody, there has to be a lawsuit.
So he argued in the lawsuit that his bosses at the FBI retaliated against him in order to placate Trump.
Now technically Trump didn't fire him, but So in a ruling yesterday, US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said that after several years of gathering evidence and testimony from those involved in the twenty eighteen decision to terminate His lawyers had failed to show that his dismissal violated his First Amendment rights because he's like, I have the right to say those horrible things. I have the right to say that we're going to set him up. Jackson stressed the judge stressed that she was not ruling on whether Strzok's firing was the appropriate sanction for his conduct, only that the voluminous evidence assembled over the years of litigation, including a deposition from Trump himself, had not proven Strzok's rights were violated. Jackson's full rule ruling is under seal for now. But she disclosed a summary yesterday that showed that she also rejected Strzok's argument that he had struck a binding deal with a top FBI disciplinary official, under which, according to this deal, Strzok would have been demoted and suspended for sixty days.
The FBI's deputy director at the time, David Bodich, said yen no. and he fired struck. Strachan. Can appeal to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals.
So anytime anyone tries to be fired by the Trump or the Trump administration or anything associated with Trump, even tangentially, they have to sue. And it has to go to the Supreme Court. Supreme Court is probably like, why do we have to hear every case? Like, every case that works its way through the DC courts has to go through up to the Supreme Court. The discovery of the anti-Trump text messages, remember that, during the 2016 campaign, the Russia-Russia-Russia hoax, including one in which Strzok suggested the FBI might stop quote Trump from becoming president, helped Trump cast those probes as a witch hunt.
And so he used those text messages between Strzok and Page. and others. Strzok has long denied that his personal views about Trump influenced his actions on the job, but The entire saga. Helped Trump rally his supporters and regain his footing.
So he used that to, you know, Trump was smart. He learned from the left, painted himself a victim, as I think he was. And rallied support behind him. In 2019, Strzok and Page filed separate lawsuits over the episode. Page quit the FBI in 2018.
claimed that the DOJ's disclosure of her text messages to reporters violated the Privacy Act, it didn't matter that she was using a government-issued phone. Like you're using a government-issued phone. You don't have the privacy of a When you're using a government-issued phone, in my humble opinion, your employer has the right to say we can seize your phone at any time, and that's that. But apparently, I don't work for the government, so the rules are different for me. And his suit made similar claims, but also challenged his firing.
Last year the DOJ agreed to pay Page eight hundred grand to settle her suit, and they paid Strzok one point two million to settle his p invasion of privacy claims. 1.2 million. I have a really good idea. Don't conduct um don't don't text your lover that you're having an affair with, with whom you're having an affair. Don't don't do it on government issued cellphones.
Like that'd probably be a really good idea. But we paid them. She got eight hundred grand, he got one point two million. And Cash Patel said, hey, didn't happen under me. That happened under my predecessor.
He faced questions from Senator John Kennedy about the settlements. And he wanted Patel to identify the FBI officials who authorized them. And Patel said, That agreement was reached during the Biden administration under my predecessor so. Not me. Man.

Let's talk a little bit about Jimmy Kimmel, shall we? Let's talk about this. And I hope none of you watched it. I hope you didn't watch it because you don't want to give him the bump in viewers. And I'm sure he had a bump last night in viewership, but that should not be.
And do what I did, and I just listened to some of the clips. And I'll share them with you right now, just in case you were a good a good Todd Starnes listener and did not listen, did not view Jimmy Kimmel last night. And listen, his show was not carried on several of the Some of the stations around the country, I think it's a total of something like just under 70 stations, didn't carry it. I've seen different numbers. I've seen 70, I've seen 60, I've seen anywhere from between like 65 to like.
88, like something like that number of stations.
So I'm not quite sure what the number is, but he returned last night. But listen. There's an a UCO Economist UGov poll that was conducted September 19th to the 22nd, and it was released yesterday. And they found that 75% of U.S. adults either never watched Show The Kimmel Show or if they do, it's less than once a month.
Seventy-five percent.
Now, out of that, he's got so he's got 25% left, right? And now, I'm sure, like I said, I'm sure there are some people who never watched Jimmy Kimmel who tuned in to see him last night.
Now, the percent who never watch Kimmel or tune in less than once a month is much higher among Republicans, with eighty one percent of Republicans saying they never watch him. Independents, fifty nine percent say they never watched him. And four fifty nine percent of Democrats say adults say they don't watch him as well either.
So, I can only assume that it's maybe younger Americans, maybe 20.
Well, adults, that would be over 18, 18 and over.
So, I mean, how does he succeed with those numbers? Oh, wait, he's not succeeding.
Sorry, I asked a dumb question. 26% of U.S. adults watch late-night shows at least once a week, only 26%. with only sixteen percent watch Kimmel that frequently.
Now We, since my husband gets up at 4 a.m. to go to work, Will record Guttfeld. I think he is hilarious. I love the everything's with humor, and they'll poke fun at Republicans too. But even when he's poking fun at Democrats, it's never mean or malicious or nasty, or it's always done with humor.
And to me, that's the way it should be done. When you like Jimmy Kimmel's just not funny because he's so angry and just so mean, it's like the yentas on the view, right? It's like the yentas, like. Who wants to watch them? They're angry, they're bitter, they're mean, they're nasty.
I would watch a show like that. They kind of do one like that. There's one on Newsmax, and there's also one on Fox where they kind of do the same thing. I would love to see a station like Newsmax or Fox do it up against. The view.
Like, do it at the same time, 11 o'clock a.m. Eastern Time. Put them head to head and see how they do. And I would love to see the opposing show welcome Democrats on. It doesn't have to be all liberals.
It doesn't have to be all Republicans, rather. That's what the View does. Like, give people to make it funny. Like, get I want to I want to feel like they really like each other. Like on when I watch Gutfeld or if I watch The Five or I watch these other shows, like I get the vibe that they really, really like each other.
And they're fun, and they make you want to be fun. They make you want to be part of it because they're funny. And you don't have to be a comedian, but they just seem like they get along. Like, that would be nice. People want to watch that.
They don't want to watch a guy rant and rave.
So that's why nobody watches Kimmel. 43% of adults say they have a favorable opinion of Kimmel. 45% of Independents, 12% of Republicans, Democrats, 76% view Kimmel favorably, but his ratings have fallen every year for the last 12 years. That's unsustainable and A B C Disney had an out. And they didn't take it.
They didn't take it. They should have said. They handled it poorly, they should have said, Look, We have two syndicate groups, we have two broadcast groups that aren't carrying it. Because of what he said.
So, without that, given the fact that his ratings have fallen every year for 12 years, he's third in the late night race. The show is losing 20 million a year. And now we're not going to be able to carry it on over sixty Affiliates. across the country. That's going to eat into the ratings even more.
It's going to eat into the bottom line even more. You know, this is the time. It has nothing to do with what he said or didn't say about Charlie Kirk or MAGA or whatever. It has nothing to do with that. This is a financial decision, but the combination of this is it.
But they didn't handle it that way because they're a bunch, no, a bunch of. Chickens.
So Sinclair s put out a statement. saying that they will preempt the show beginning Tuesday night. They will be preempting Jimmy Kim Alive across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show's potential return. They said we made a decision last week to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live following what ABC referred to as Mr.
Kimmel's, quote, ill-timed and insensitive comments at a critical time in our national discourse. They said this yesterday morning. This is Nexstar now. Yesterday morning.
So the first was so we know Sinclair.
Now this is Nexstar.
Sorry.
Next are continued to say we stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve. In the meantime, we note that Jimmy Kimmel Live will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets.
So in other words, they're doing the best interests of their viewers, of their customers. That's what they're supposed to do. Most ABC stations in the U S are owned by independent station groups. Sinclair is the largest owner of ABC stations, with thirty eight across the country, including the ABC affiliate in one of the Washington D C metro area.
Nextar operates twenty eight ABC affiliates.
So that's a huge chunk that's not going to be taken, Jimmy Kimmel. And it was the pushback from those that started this whole thing.
Now, to be fair. And to not be one-sided here, Nexstar has a $6 billion-plus deal pending before the FCC that requires approval. They want to acquire another broadcast group and would make it the largest owner of local TV stations in the country.
So they need approval from the FCC. Sinclair is also pursuing a deal with another broadcast group. Broadcast Group. That would also require FCC approval, so the left is of course, they need approval from Trump. That's why they're doing this.
They need approval from Trump. Who knows? Maybe that is the reasoning why. I don't know. But I just wanted to be honest with you there.
So. I'll let you hear what Jimmy Kimmel had to say, his apologies/slash non-apology. Kind of, uh maybe not. A lot of people viewed it differently.
So we'll start with cut seven. Here's Jimmy Kimmel. This is the longest cut, the longest of his um what he started out with in the beginning of the night. And what do you think of his apology? I've been hearing a lot about what I need to say and do tonight, and the truth is.
I don't think what I have to say is going to make much of a difference. If you like me, you like me. If you don't, you don't. I have no illusions about changing anyone's mind. But I do want to make something clear because it's important to me as a human, and that is you understand that it was never my intention to make light of the murder.
of a young man. Uh I don't I don't think there's anything funny about it. I posted a message on Instagram on the day he was killed, sending love to his family and asking for compassion, and I meant it, and I still do. Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group for the actions of what it was obviously a deeply disturbed individual. That was really the opposite of the point I was trying to make, but I understand that to some that felt either ill-timed or unclear, or maybe both.
And for those who think I did. Point a finger. I get why you're upset. If the situation was reversed, there's a good chance I'd have felt the same way. I have many friends and family members on the other side who I love and.
Remain close to, even though we don't agree on politics at all. I don't think the murderer who shot Charlie Kirk represents anyone. This was a sick person who believed violence was a solution, and it isn't. It ever. And also selfishly I am I am a person who.
gets a lot of threats. I get many ugly and scary threats against my life, my wife, my kids, my coworkers because of what I choose to say. And I know those threats don't come from the kind of people on the right who I know and love.
So that's what I wanted to say on that subject.
So you know what's super interesting? I don't know. When I'm making an apology, the words, I'm sorry, come out of my mouth. He never said, I'm sorry. There was no I'm sorry.
He was like, I'm sorry if you took it wrong. I'm sorry if you misinterpreted. If some people interpreted it that way, he also said there was no, I didn't want, I didn't want it to sound funny about a young man's death and a crocodile tears. I don't know, maybe he really was choked up. But.
Well, yeah, I'm glad, because there was nothing funny about it. And it wasn't, he wasn't, nobody thought you were trying to make a joke about his death. That wasn't the problem. This just goes to show you he has no clue, or he's just purposely not being honest. You said he was shot by MAGA, and you tried to make a joke that wasn't funny, it wasn't a joke at all.
You put out a lie, you put out propaganda about the shooter when we knew that wasn't true. That's what people were enraged about. That's what people were upset about. He waited more than seven minutes to mention Charlie Kirk by name. Seven minutes.
into his monologue before he even mentioned Charlie Kirk by name. That's unacceptable. We'll quickly go to Tom and Virginia here. Tom, welcome you on the Todd Starn Show. Good afternoon, ma'am.
I'd like to, I don't understand. The TV stations took the dude off the TV. People did not want to hear it, did not want to see it.
So, all the so-called conservative radio hosts, that's all they've been talking about, and inudating the airways of that dude. Why are you giving him such a thing?
So much airtime. And, you know, you're just giving him a lot of publicity. All the other important things going on in this world, and you all are spending all this time on that idiot. Yeah, and I appreciate that, Tom. Thank you so much.
He's listening on Truth Radio. I appreciate what you had to say, Tom. Thank you so much for joining me. Thanks for listening. I get it.
I understand that. But it is about free speech. The argument is being made about free speech. And that's why, and Tom, have a great rest of your week. It's a They're making it about free speech.
And that's why this is important to discuss. And a lot of people on the right feel I think I think Majority of people on the right feel that we are always held accountable for our speech, but the left is not. Roseanne was held accountable for her speech. Kevin Hart. Russell Brand, Donald Trump was censored and kicked off social media, right?
Dambongino, Seb Gorka, a whole bunch of them were all kicked off social media because of their speech. They were not given the same free speech right that the left gets. And so I do think it's an important discussion to have because we need to highlight, listen, I'm not winning him any viewers, any converts. There's nobody listening to this right now who's going, oh, cool, I'm so going to watch him tonight. He sounds like fun.
That's not going to happen. They're already watching it. But I do think it's important to know what he's saying. He's not getting anything by me playing these clips or anybody else playing these clips, but I do think it's informative to the listeners to know what is being said and what's going on. I don't want people, I think we need to be more informed, not less informed.
People should be able to say, well, I heard what Jimmy Kimmel had to say, and he never said the words, I'm sorry. Because we need to engage the other side more. And we need to know what we're talking about.
So, saying, well, I don't want to hear it, I just think it doesn't serve our purposes well. But that's me. All right.
We'll get more of this coming up. You're listening to the Todd Stern Show. Welcome back. You misunderstood me. I understand why you misunderstood me. I would have misunderstood me too. Basically, crying on some no one understands me. Stuff.
Tell jokes and ask celebrities about their shallow lives. And there were other words in there that I very artfully edited out. If I do say so myself, let's get back to Jimmy Kimmel Cut 8. He did. Praise Erica Kirk.
And this is something that I think even touched the left. Like, I think even the left was impressed by this. Here's Jimmy. A moment over the weekend, a very beautiful moment. I don't know if you saw this, on Sunday, Eric or Kirk.
forgave the man who shot her husband. She forgave him. That is an example we should follow. Yeah. If you believe In the teachings of Jesus, as I do.
There it was. Gots That's it. A selfless act of grace. Forgiveness from a grieving widow It touched me deeply. And I hope it Detective learning.
And if there's anything we should take from this tragedy to carry forward, I hope it can be that.
So here's the response, some of the responses to what Jimmy had to say there. Hard to feel sympathy for Jimmy Kimmel and his crocodile tears, given how gleefully he has always gorged on the career entrails of conservative stars who've lost their jobs, like Tucker, Roseanne, etc. He's become a partisan political activist, not a comedic host, according to Piers Morgan. Let's see. Scott Jennings, you used the phrase MAGA gang and then lied about what happened.
You definitely intended to make light of it and mislead the American people. You're pathetic. He also Couldn't let it go. He had to get a dig in at Donald Trump. This is just an impulse.
They have a mental illness. They can't control themselves when it comes to President Trump. Here he is. President of the United States made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired from our jobs. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he can't take a joke.
People.
Somehow able to squeeze Colbert out of CBS, then he turned his sights on me, and now he's openly rooting for NBC to fire Jimmy Fallon and Seth Myers and the hundreds of Americans who work for their shows, who don't make millions of dollars. And I hope that if that happens, or if there's even any hint of that happening, you will be 10 times as loud as you were this week. We have to speak out against this.
So, do you see what he did there? He's the victim now. He's the victim. But he also said that Donald Trump can't, he celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he can't take a joke, which is exactly what Kimmel did and the rest of them when it came to Roseanne, Russell Brand, Kevin Hart, all comedians who were canceled by the left because they can't take a joke. Hearken back to the first cut I played, how he started it out.
He said It I I should it wasn't a joke. There was nothing funny about it.
Well, then, if there was nothing funny about it, why are you after Donald Trump for not being able to take a joke? You yourself said there was nothing funny about it. You yourself said it wasn't a joke. And Andrew Colvette, who is the executive producer of the Charlie Kirk show, you saw him on Sunday, said, Jimmy, it's simple. You should have said, I'm sorry for saying the shooter was MAGA.
He was not. He was of the Left. I apologize to the Kirk family for lying. Please accept my sincere apology. I will do better.
I was wrong.
So you know what? Kimmel? is it was all in act. I don't buy it for a hot second. And I think that he just said what he had to do say in order to keep the money rolling in.

Oh, before we get to that. Update for you. On the shooting, the shooting at the ICE facility in Dallas.
So we have a little bit of an update.
Okay, at least three people. were shot. We now know that um One episode, and there's going to be conflicting information in this, so this just goes to show you that we still don't have all the information officially. There's a lot of shifting. Pieces.
So I'm going to tell you. three people shot, one of whom was killed. At this ICE facility in Dallas this morning, they are investigating the incident as a quote targeted attack against ICE. Preliminary investigations uncovered anti-ice messaging on bullet rounds found near the shooter.
So they were not fired, and one of them says anti-ice, scribbled on it very, very clearly. I guess that's the new hot thing when you're a leftist and, you know, you're on a mission, I guess, some kind of weird unhinged rampage. The three is So, the people who were shot, they were not telling us before who it was. We knew that no police officers or ICE agents had been injured. According to Fox News's Brooke Taylor, the three detainees in the van were shot inside the law enforcement van.
So, they had come into what's called a Sally port.
So, if you've ever watched, like I do, like some of these videos online, or even remember the old cops show? You know, they bring them into the facility and there's an enclosed space that's that they walk them into the police station. It's enclosed and it's almost like a drive-through, but it It'll have a gate that can come down in the back, like it did here at this ICE facility.
So they were still inside the van.
So I don't and it was an unmarked van.
So We don't know if the shooter thought that they were going to be agents inside the unmarked van, but anyway, that's what we know so far. Let's see. Um What else?
So, Dallas Police Department sources told Fox News the shooting occurred at roughly 6:30 a.m. local time.
So, this guy had to know. The shooter had to know. Three detainees were shot, and now it says two. Two were killed.
So we have one killed, like two killed, one being one of the detainees and one being the shooter. We've heard that. We've heard one detainee was shot.
Now we're hearing two were shot, so It's a ch changing you know, story and we'll get more and more as the day goes on.
So I just want to um as we get more details, I want to bring them to you. And of course the shooter is deceased by a self inflicted gunshot wound because he is a coward. And I'm going to go with It's a Man. It's just my hunch. I know I'm profiling, but that's what I'm going to go with.
And I. have um my gut tells me it's probably over sixty. white man. I it's just a gut feeling I have. I could be 100% wrong.
100% wrong. But, um So we'll find out though. They say they don't know the motive yet and I'm like, I do. Yeah, the s the sally port to the facility was opened during the transfer of detainees a for attempting to force So this is interesting. Authorities say the shooter opened fire when the sally port to the facility was opened during the transfer of detainees attempting to force his way in.
So I don't know what that means. We're going to have to get an update on that.
So, all right. In the meantime, we have this whole budget crisis that rears its ugly head several times a year because Congress just cannot get their act together. All they do is continuing resolution, continuing resolution. They don't want to actually do something, take a hard stance on anything, because they're not going to get re-elected. And that's what they want.
They want to get re-elected, so they play it safe. And if we had term limits, this would not be the case.
So Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. and House minority leader, Dollar Store Obama, Hakeem Jeffries, We're supposed to meet with Trump tomorrow to discuss moving forward to avert a partial government shutdown before the deadline, which is September 30th. It's right around the corner. But there's still a way for Rosh Hashanah because the Jewish holiday, which If you don't live in an area with a with a lot of large Jewish population, like I do, I live with a large Jewish population, always have their holidays are like rapid-fire succession and they go on for seven days. Each one is a week, it's and there it goes on forever.
Like Christmas, I got one day, and half the time I wind up working on it. They get like a week, so they're away for Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish New Year, Lashana Tovah. The Senate is expected to return on September 29th, the day before, but the House is expected to be out until the deadline passes.
So they were supposed to have this meeting.
So Trump posts on Truth Social. And I'm going to read you what he said, part of it, because you know when Trump goes off.
So here's what he says on Truth Social.
So they're supposed to have this meeting. Everybody thinks this meeting's happening about this. And he says, After reviewing the details of the unserious and ridiculous demands being made by the minority radical left Democrats in return for their votes to keep our country, our thriving country open, I have decided that no meeting with their congressional leaders could possibly be productive. They are threatening to shut down the government of the United States unless they can have over $1 trillion in new spending to continue free health care for illegal aliens, a monumental cost, force taxpayers to fund transgender surgery for minors, have dead people on the Medicaid rolls, allow illegal alien criminals to steal billions of dollars in American taxpayer benefits, try to force our country to again open our borders to criminals and to the world, allow men to play in women's sports, and essentially create transgender operations for everybody. There are consequences and I'm again I'm cherry picking 'cause it's long.
There are consequences to losing elections, but based on their letter to me, the Democrats haven't figured that out yet. They are trying to eliminate the popular fifty billion dollar rural and vulnerable hospital fund, which was passed with only Republican votes and proudly signed into law by me. The Democrats in Congress seem to have totally lost their way. They obviously have no idea what it means to put America first or to make America great again. Scroll down.
I look forward to meeting with them if they get serious about the future of our nation. We must keep the government open and legislate like true patriots rather than hold American citizens hostage, knowing that they want our now thriving country closed. I'll be happy to meet with them if they agree to the principles in this letter. They must do their job. Otherwise, it will just be another long and brutal slog through their radicalized quicksand.
To the leaders of the Democrat Party, the ball is in your court. I look forward to meeting with you when you become realistic about the things that our country stands for. Do the right thing, all in capital letters.
So Trump's like nomos. And he's smart. Trump knows the majority of Americans don't want to be paying for health care for people in the country illegally, especially when we have American citizens who get crummy health care if they get any at all. We have veterans that are dying waiting for health care. I would personally, and I think most Americans would want to see that.
Go that way. Take it away from the people in this country illegally and give it to Americans.
So they know he knows that Americans feel that way. It's an 80-20 issue that Democrats insist on being the 20% side of because Trump wants the 80%, so therefore they have to be against it. The majority of Americans don't want transgenders playing in each other's sports. They don't want it, but they insist on it. They don't think that a minor should be allowed to change their gender.
and have taxpayers pay for it. You wouldn't let an eight year old get a face tattoo with, you know, I don't know, their favorite superhero on their forehead, but yet they think it's okay to to allow them to change their gender with irreversible hormone treatments. Like Most Americans look at that and go, This is the dumbest thing ever and why am I paying for it?
So Trump's smart in this in the way that he's he's couching this. The people who need to hear it won't hear it. But I think Chucky and um Hakeem are gonna have a hard time. blaming this one on Trump. I really do.
I think they're going to have a hard time with this. I just don't think the wind is at their backs on this one.
So they're trying, as I said, they're going to bring the Senate back To try to make the Republicans seem like, oh, you know, they're out celebrating and we're working hard.
So What happened? The letter Trump was referring to was a letter from Schumer and Jeffries they sent over the weekend. They and where they tried to lay the possibility of the shutdown at Donald Trump's feet and Republicans' feet. They argued that the Trump-backed short-term extension was, quote, dirty, which means it had partisan policy writers or spending attached to it. And they said it includes the Republican assault on health care, which Yeah, we're kicking he Trump wants to t it kick people off of Medicare.
And Medicaid, who shouldn't be getting it because they're in the country illegally. Let's have more money for our seniors. Let's have more money for poor Americans for health care Yeah. But they're saying, oh, he's kicking he's kicking s Americans off health care, and that's not true. He's kicking people in the country illegally.
Off healthcare, but they don't want you to know the difference.
So, you know what? We can do this real quickly before we go to break. Just cut one. Here's Chuck Schumer's response to getting the letter that Trump is like, yeah, go pound sand. And this is going to be Donald Trump's shutdown.
Democrats are ready to work with the President. We're willing to sit down with him today, tomorrow we'll even come to the golf course. and sit down with them. Wherever he wants to go. That's okay.
Wherever he wants to go, we'll even go to the golf course. That's okay. We'll make the sacrifice because we're so much better. They are desperate for the money. to buy votes.
And I don't know how they figure that's going to work because people in the country illegally In theory, can't vote.
So, so we have a showdown and we're heading towards a partial government shutdown. And honestly, I got to tell you, I think the world still spins. You're still going to get your social security. You're still, Medicare is still going to function. You know, so they try to scare us every single time.
And I don't remember anyone having their world turned over during a partial government shutdown. If you work for the government, you get back pay.
So. We'll see what happens, but that's that's next week, so that is Lumik.

Okay, so um you know Trump has been at the UN. We played a lot of that. We shared that with you yesterday.
So. Apparently, the Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky met with President Trump. Why not? Everybody's in town, right? Oh, by the way, speaking of Iran.
So, do you know, like, so all of these countries, even if they're mortal enemies of the United States, if they're enemies, they get to come if they if they're going to the UN. We have to allow them into the country. We have to give them visas to get in. They denied the Palestinian Authority president, they wouldn't let him in. But do you know what they're doing?
So, people like Iran, Iraq.
Some of these countries, they won't let them go to they can't shop at any like Costco, BJ, Sam's Club. They won't let them shop at any of the big box stores 'cause they buy all these supplies and have them ship back for their consumption while their people are starving.
So the Trump administration got them banned. From all these big box stores, so they can't buy all this food and all these items that they can't get in their countries. Hehehe Hilarious. I thought that it was really funny. And I love it.
I think it's great. All right, so Vladimir Zelensky was on Fox News and Special Report with Brett Baer last evening. And I did pull some of the audio initially. Hard to understand. He's good.
I mean, I could not speak Ukrainian, so good for him being able to speak Englishly this fluently. English this fluently. And he was asked by Brett Baer if his ties with Trump had improved. And he said, I think we have better relations than before. It's good that we have often had phone calls and meetings.
And the fact that Putin was lying to President Trump so many times also made a difference between us. And I think he's right. Because what, a week or two ago, President Trump expressed disappointment with Vladimir Putin. And I think he's really upset with him, especially with some things that have been going on. And I'll tell you a little bit about those.
During the program, Brett Barrett read part of a truth social message in which Trump said Ukraine with European and NATO backing could win back all of its territory. And Zelensky said that he was very surprised by that statement, but he said President Trump was more positive in it, and he showed that he wants to support Ukraine to the very end. I was very positive about signals from this side that Trump and America will be with us to the end of the war. I think he understands for today that we can't just swap territories. It's not fair.
And he also said, as I said, we're ready for peace, but we have to be in a strong position.
So. Yeah, so I have Trump's Truth Social post, but you know, basically that's what he said: is that Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years, a war that should have taken a real military power less than a week to win. This is not distinguishing Russia. It's very much making them look like a paper tiger. And he said, when the people of Russia really start to feel the.
the uh the effects Of this ongoing war, they're going to be against it. They're not in a position of power. On the other hand, I really don't want to be paying for this from Natal Kingdom Come. You know what I mean? Not really looking forward to that.
So we'll see how it plays out. But I'll tell you what Russia did. And what Trump said in response to it. And then we'll talk about what happened yesterday when we were on the air on that escalator. and with the teleprompter at the UN.
That is all coming up on the Todd Starring Show. We are back on the Todd Starn show. Mary Walter sitting in for Todd. Todd is back with you on Monday. Joining us now, one of my favorite guests, Liz Peake.
She's a Fox News contributor and columnist. You can follow her on X at Liz P E E K. Liz Peak. Liz, I haven't spoken to you in so long. It's so great.
I'm so happy you're you're scheduled for today. How are you? I'm terrific. Thanks for having me on, Mary. Absolutely.
I was so excited to see you.
So we have an update on this shooter in Dallas that the shooter has now been identified as 29-year-old Joshua John, J-A-H-N. And I was totally wrong. I said over 60 white guy. I wasn't even in the ballpark.
So a 29-year-old, another young man in his 20s, that's all we know at this point, allegedly killed two detainees at the facility. You know, questions are being asked because a lot of this doesn't make sense and we don't know everything, obviously. But um You know, someone posted this, Yitzhak posted this to me and said, Will we find any connection between the shooter and any of the arrestees? Could it be a cartel hit? Which would mean that the cells that all walked across the border under the Biden administration are active now, that they really weren't going, you know, or they were going after ICE, you know?
But a guy named Joshua John, I don't think so. I mean, what do you think is going on here?
Well, I don't know. I mean, um, I saw the news breaking this morning of the shooting and I really was immediately just disgusted about it because I assumed that ICE agents were in the line of fire. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it was all. uh shooting at detainees, although that seems odd.
Um Who were the wounded, Mary? Two of the detainees have died.
Okay, and were there ice agents also who were harmed? No, no ice agents were harmed. And so I don't you know I'm I'm really um hesitant to speculate on unclear information. But my immediate response was that ICE agents had come under fire, and I wasn't surprised because. Uh the left has made them out to be villains and horrible people and uh you know, put their lives at risk, literally, by passing law, for example, in California that there are no longer allowed to wear masks.
So if this turns out to be another Young man who is attacking detainees because he's got some sort of anti-immigrant agenda. I don't know. I don't know what to make of that. I do think this. I put something out last week, which I think is Valid and true.
which is that the Democrats have created such a sense of hopelessness amongst young men. On a number of fronts. I mean, they basically, you know, if you listen to Bernie Sanders or AOC or Elizabeth Warren. you'll come away convinced that America holds no promise Yeah. that they can't get ahead, that it's not That the American dream is dead.
I mean, if you don't believe me, go and listen. to what AOC spouts on this autocracy uh fa excuse me, fight the oligarchy tour that she's been on. I mean, she literally says stuff like, Well, they're billionaires and They aren't making the money. They're stealing it from you. You know, it's all this.
it's all this envy, uh, a kind of creed of envy and doom and And hopelessness. And I do think when you look at all these people who've been shooting. And killing people, most of them their young men and their teens. And I just think they've kind of received a very bleak message during their lifetime. And I abhor that.
I think America is full of promise full of optimism, full of opportunity. But I do think that people, and by the way, there is no question in my mind that social media is a cesspool of. feeding on that kind of despair and loneliness and so forth. And I'd say one other thing. And again, this may have nothing to do with the Dallas shooting.
which is horrible. And I'm sorry that this happened, obviously. Um The the the other kind of uh thing that's happened with young men I think is And I've been talking about this for a decade: all the focus on young women and providing opportunities for young women, making sure that young women get every advantage and that they're. You know, sought out for every opportunity. I think young men have kind of.
you know, felt like they're sort of They have a sort of time out that they're not really the no one's really cares about them. No one's prioritizing their wellbeing. That stuff that went on during the Obama administration when they past uh various I sent a letter, a dear colleague letter to colleges saying basically saying that if a woman accuses a man of Sexual abuse. rape, whatever, he gets no opportunity to confront that. If do you remember that?
I mean it was the same thing. Yeah, and and Trump in term one took that down, which is totally right. I mean I'm on the Board of a college. And let me tell you, everyone was. Alarmed about it.
Because it just gave free reign to, I hate to say this, young women making an accusation, ruining someone's life conceivably. Uh and all the weight of evidence you know, all the weight of uh providing evidence and so forth was on the guy. And that's not really how America deals out guilty and and not guilty please.
So Anyway, I I think men young men have been under Kind of under a cloud. And I think they've got a lot of reasons why they're angry. And unfortunately, these days, as they say, Social media provides all kinds of opportunities. to whip up uh anger and uh you know feelings um uh just frustration and so forth. And this is how many or some at least are acting it out.
It's pretty bad. Yeah, it's you know, you're you're right, and that was part of the reason why people said Turning Point was so So successful with young men is because Charlie knew that that's exactly everything that you just said: how young men in this country felt their loss. They had no direction. A lot of them don't have fathers to show them what it's like to be a man. And he seized on that and he gave them something to rally around.
And they felt heard and seen because of Charlie. And, you know, so I do agree with you 100. I agree with literally everything you said, and I can't add to it. Let's go to this continuing resolution. We've got the budget coming up.
We will have a partial government shutdown on the 30th if they can't get it together. Donald Trump just canceled the meeting with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer. That was supposed to happen on Thursday. I just have a question. I don't know if you know the answer because one of the Yitzhak.
Sent me an X note and said, You know, the Republicans just want to have this continuing resolution. We want to just continue. And that to me is just a cop-out. Just, could you just pass a budget, like pass an actual budget? But wouldn't that just continue the money going to illegal immigrants, et cetera?
Or am I 100% wrong?
Well, I think they've changed some policies, which now, you know, for one thing, there's a difference between state and federal right we're talking federal budget An awful lot of the money that has flowed to Yeah. uh people in the country illegally have been done by the states. In New York State, California, et cetera, have rolled out the welcome wagon, and it's New York. and California and other states' taxpayers. Chicago, Illinois has a big problem with this.
I mean, these are budget buster numbers and the taxpayers in those states really are the ones on the hook. Federal policies have been changed under President Trump. To your question about why can't they just pass a budget, my understanding is that the House has passed. nearly every appropriations bill that they need to pass. The Problem is not in the House, it's in the Senate.
Um the the meeting with Jeffries and Schumer was called off. because the demands from the Democrats to break through this uh Tailmate. Are pretty outrageous. I mean, they want to put a lot of money back in the budget that was basically removed. Under All these deliberations that have already been made.
So I I think they're just posturing. I don't think One issue, though, I know that they that is very much on the table, Mary, is about expanding and extending the Obamacare subsidies. And I think this was, I have to say, I'm not sure, I totally understand it. I think these subsidies came into being during. Uh post-COVID.
When um The cost of health care was a very big uh issue and it was going up Um And so I think this is another thing that should have been removed. But it's not that the Democrats don't want to remove it because the cost of Obamacare is so high. The real issue here is Obamacare didn't work. I mean, it's still too expensive to buy health care insurance. By the way, this isn't healthcare, this is insurance.
Right. I mean, people conflate the two. It's not really the same. Um But I uh I think we're going to continue to have arguments about Healthcare subsidies and whatever. And that's going to be a big issue in the budget making process, but it also now is something that Democrats want to.
uh basic and and you know they're trying to undo was already agreed to. And I think Trump just said, look, that's just not on the table. Yeah, good for him. And they're going to try to lay it at his feet, but I don't think it's going to work this time because they insist on being on the 20% side of the 80-20 issues. 80% of Americans, I would say, when we say 80-20, majority of Americans don't want to pay for health care for people who are in the country illegally.
They're like, wait, what? I don't have health care that good. Why do they get it? Majority of Americans don't want to pay for transitioning procedures for minors. Most Americans think that that's insane.
Right. So I think Trump is confident knowing that. That they're on the wrong side of these issues, and he's not gonna let them get in. They're gonna try to lay it at his feet, but I just, this for some reason, they're always successful doing that. I don't know how, but they always are, but this time around with Trump in charge, I think he fights back, and I think he has enough people.
In on the Republican side, that are no longer rhinos, a lot of them left or got voted out, that are going to stand up, hopefully fingers crossed, and not allow them to do that, not allow them to lay it at his feet. Uh well, I hope so. I mean, I think that um You know, one of the obviously one of the very contentious issues was this whole issue of Medicaid. And they keep calling it Medicaid cuts. It's really Medicaid reform.
bringing up Medicaid, the program, which is really just totally out of control. Back to what it was meant to be, what it was designed to be, which was a program. uh to provide health care insurance For indigen people, basically, people. women with children who had no way to find for themselves. It is not meant to be Providing healthcare insurance to able-bodied young men.
And there are far too many able-bodied single men. We're now receiving Medicaid. You know, this whole Unfortunately, the conversation is always dishonest. It's always you know, very politicized and it's unfortunate because some of this stuff is really commonsense and and really should not Not be a problem, but you know, everything is politicized right now, so that's not too much of a surprise, and particularly spending. But, Mary, at the end of the day, you know What one we heard from Democrats recently.
They're very worried about inflation. They're very worried about our deficits. Can you imagine? This is the team that spent trillions of dollars unnecessarily during Joe Biden's presidency.
Now they've got religion.
Now they want to bring down our deficits. concerned about spending. They're not. I mean, this is just something that Democrats don't care about because every dollar spent enlarges the clou the clout. of the federal government, and that is really their platform.
Yeah. You know, and just another question, and then I promise I'll let you go. But so, why, maybe this is a dumb question. For trying to save money, why do we have two programs that provide insurance to people who are low income? We have Medicare, Medicaid, and we have the ACA.
We have Obamacare. Both supposedly, allegedly, provide insurance to poor the poorer segment of society, why do we duplicate the effort?
Well, Obamacare was not designed to provide insurance for poor people. It was designed to provide a marketplace for insurance, which would bring insurance costs down. Here's what failed. It didn't. Insurance continued to get more expensive.
Yeah, I mean. Everything about the design of the program. was a mistake. And unfortunately now It's been in place for so long, it's unlikely that it's going to ever be significantly overhauled. Voted in uh the people who crafted Obamacare promised that we would have other facets of health care insurance issues which we would continue to debate, things like tort reform.
uh you know everybody in the world knows that we're all we're providing on a routine basis all kinds of tests And other procedures that are not necessary, except doctors are afraid. of being sued.
So when you go in for something minor. And you end up having an MRI. Maybe the doctor knows full well they're not going to see anything on that MRI, but God forbid they don't do it, and four years later, you know, you have some issue that you think might have been detectable I I mean this it's There's so many things that are out of whack. I mean, honestly, Mary, if you look at our Healthcare, what we spend, we spend a fortune on health care in this country and our are deliverables are not bad at the high end. That is to say, we cure cancer better than most.
But we have far too many people. This and this is something RFK Jr. is on, right? We have far, far too many people. On Vast numbers of medication.
uh who are basically unhealthy people and What is the government doing about that? What is health insurance programs doing about that? Absolutely nothing. Also supposed to be part of The uh Aftermath of Obamacare, that people would begin to take a look at how to make Americans healthier.
So we don't have to pay so we're not paying more than any country on earth. or taking care of them. And that has gone nowhere. Yeah, well, you know, it's so interesting. You bring up tort reform, and I'm so glad you did.
It is such a huge part of why healthcare is so expensive because they're like, oh, the doctors are making all the money. Every time Medicare or Medicaid balances their payments, it's because they cut what they're reimbursing doctors, which is why it gets harder and harder and harder to find a physician that will accept Medicare or Medicaid, right? It's going to get harder because they keep cutting the reimbursements. Our plumber gets paid more per hour than my husband does if he sees a Medicaid patient or a Medicare patient, right?
So it's a really terrible thing because what what's happening is we're attracting fewer and fewer doctors. kids into becoming doctors. It used to be that was a great living, you know, you did very, very well. And certainly there are specialties if you're a I can speak from experience on this. If you're a skin doctor treating skin cancer, you make a fortune.
But if you're a GP these days, it's very difficult to make a good living. And that's preposterous. Yeah, no, it is. And then they're going to wonder, they want that health care that Canada has and England has and all those advanced countries have. And I'm like, yeah, and like Canada, you'll wait 14 months to get the brain MRI to find out if you have a brain tumor.
That's right. Do not envy socialist medicine. It doesn't work. No. But they think it won't happen to them because they're not doing it right.
It's socialist, but they're not doing socialism right. We're going to do socialism the right way. You hear that all the time. Right? At least I'll leave you laughing.

Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun-totin, Bible-clanging, deplorable American.
That's right. I love this American. Touch start. Oh yeah. Ah, Mary Walter.
Oh yeah. This is Sydney for Todd Starnstarns. Todd is at the LA Spiritual Leadership Conference, getting a good dose of the Lefkos. Good for him. I can't wait to hear his stories when he comes back because Todd always loves to check out the food scene, as you know, so that'll be interesting.
Just a little update on the shooting this morning in Dallas at that ICE facility. The Department of Homeland Security has now said that the deranged gunman, that's a quote, who opened fire at that ICE field office in Dallas had fired from a nearby rooftop. Quote, in a statement, they said the shooter fired indiscriminately at the ICE building as well as at a van in the Sally port where the victims were shot. Three detainees were shot. Two are deceased.
The other is in critical condition. The gunman was found with a self-inflicted gun wound.
Sources familiar with the investigation identified the gunman to Fox News as 29-year-old Joshua John J A H N. And of course, they are now confirming that the shell casings were found with anti-ICE messages on them.
So I It's going to be so interesting if we ever find out if there's any connection, etc., and so on. And there are some people who are saying that posting pictures of his. Mom, allegedly. I don't know if it's her, so I don't like to get into that. But if it is her, You know, she's.
If it is, instead of the same last name, I don't know how they know that this woman is, you know, his mother, but, you know. of what is it? s anti demo you know, Democrat Socialist Party, all this other stuff.
So I don't know if that is her.
So if we get any confirmation on that, which I don't think we'll get today, I will let you know, but I don't want to spread that around if it's not true.
Okay, so so you're gonna laugh. This is hilarious. We got a good laugh at this.
So President Trump has put this wall of of um Presidents that on side, you know, where the walkways, you often see them walking down this. corridor where they're going one way or the other and there's a wall, a white wall on one side, and then there's the colonnades. You've got these columns on the other side and it goes out to a lawn off the White House. And I believe this connects the East Wing with the West Wing on the not the Pennsylvania Avenue side, the other side of the White House, the South lawn. Part of the White House was at the North Lawn, whichever.
But you see it all the time. You would recognize it if you saw it.
So, what they've done is they have these beautiful gold frames with each president in succession. And as they pan along it, you see Reagan, and then you see Bush there, and you see Clinton, and another Bush, and then you see Barack Obama, and then you see Donald Trump. And then you see a picture of the auto pen with Joe Biden's signature, and then you see Donald Trump. It's hilarious. I love the frames.
If they trash that, the next president coming in trashes that I want those frames. But It's hilarious. Donald Trump knows they're not going to keep it for the next guy, but it's they have like little gold name plates with the president's name. It's so funny. He loves to troll the left, and they take the bait every single time.
They're going to get all outraged about this. Americans bait for that. I'll donate to that. I think it's hilarious.
Okay, so remember we talked about when Donald Trump and Melania Trump were at the UN for his visit, right?
Well, and the escalator stopped, and like then there were problems with the teleprompter, and we played the audio of Trump joking around about it. You know, he said, I give all this money to the UN. And all I get is an escalator that doesn't work and a teleprompter that doesn't work. And that's what I get, you know?
So. He's, yeah. What did he say? I have the quote here. All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that, on the way up, stopped right in the middle, then a teleprompter that didn't work.
These are the two things I got from the United Nations: a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter. Thank you very much. And by the way, it's working now. It just went on. Thank you.
Well, the Sunday Times of London, Times of London, reported on Sunday that UN workers were joking about turning off an escalator. On Monday, the escalator broke as Melania Trump stepped onto it. When Trump got to the pod podium, teleprompter wasn't working. played all this for you. service was later restored.
the main UN audio feed to T V news channels switched over to a foreign language translation towards the end of his speech, obscuring some of his words. And apparently it was reported that in the area where the press was, Donald Trump's audio was made very, very low and it was hard to hear it. Huh.
So It backfired, obviously, because if they were trying to make him look bad, it backfired because he made a joke of it and it made the UN look really, really bad. The Sunday Times reported that figures inside the UN had been overheard joking about the event before the event about stunts they could pull to highlight the funding shortage faced by the organization because the Trump administration was withholding cash.
Well, yeah, because we pay a disproportionate amount for that organization. If they don't like it in America, they can very happily take it and go elsewhere because that's. That is just prime real estate in Manhattan. And wow, there'll be a lot less traffic every time the UN comes to town.
Now, a UN spokesperson said all of the incidents were genuine mishaps. Regarding the escalator, what they say is that A videographer from the U.S. delegation stepped onto the escalator ahead of the president and the first lady. And as the videographer, who was traveling backwards up the escalator, reached the top, the first lady, followed by President Trump, mounted the steps at the bottom. At that moment, the escalator came to a stop.
And they say that a subsequent investigation, which included a readout of the machine's processing unit, indicated that the escalator had stopped after a built-in safety mechanism on the comb step was triggered at the top of the escalator. The safety mechanism is designed to prevent people or objects accidentally being caught or stuck, sucked in, like you see with some of those videos, which are insane. You know, like they have that emergency stop on them. The escalators have that emergency stop. They say, yeah, the U.S.
videographer accidentally hit that. And I'm sure the and uh yeah, so I'm sure they also accidentally shifted into a foreign language. And regarding the teleprompter, we have no comments since we don't operate that teleprompter. The interpretation audio was heard when a non-official interpreter pressed the wrong button, which briefly allowed a UN inter a non-UN interpreter to be heard. Yeah, it's all these buttons, they're super hard to understand and super, super hard to deal with.
So, um, yeah, you know how that is, you know how that goes.
So All a bunch of ES. They hate the United States, but they want our money.
Now, Caroline love it. Was talking about this because the Secret Service is investigating.
So here's Caroline Levitt on Waters World last night with Jesse Waters talking about what happened. All right, Caroline. It does appear to be sabotage with the Escalator and the teleprompter. What is the White House going to do about that?
Well, Jesse, that's definitely what it appears to be to me. And that's why I put out a statement earlier. There was some concerning reporting over the weekend from the London Times, as you pointed out, that UN globalist staffers were basically plotting to set up the President of the United States. And first it was the escalator, then it was the teleprompter. And then Katie Pavlich from Town Hall, who we offered a seat in the press pool to cover the President's historic speech today, noticed that the audio inside of the room was much lower and different for the President of the United States than the previous speaker.
So when you put all of this together, it doesn't look like a coincidence to me. And I know that we have people, including the United States Secret Service, who are looking into this to try to get to the bottom of it. And if we find that these were UN staffers who were purposefully trying to trip up, literally trip up the president and the First Lady of the United States, well, there better be accountability. for those people. And I will personally see to it, Jesse.
Yeah. Will we ever find out? Probably not. Probably not. But interesting that the Times of London knew ahead of time, so somebody.
was talking. All right, coming up, we're going to talk about the gubernatorial race in New Jersey.
Now, I know you're like, oh, I don't live in New Jersey, but the gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia, they're off-season, you know, off-year elections. They're important because after this, we go into the midterms. And so, if you can see a swing to red in New Jersey, and if you can see Winsom Earl Sears, the lieutenant governor of Virginia, hang on to that state as a Republican, that bodes very well. For the midterm elections, so these are two very, very important races that we're looking at. And so, we're just going to do a little bit about those and also more on Kamala Harris.
You're not going to, nobody's going to have to buy the book. It's out, so I don't know anybody has bought it, but nobody's going to buy it. I guarantee you, it's going to be on, you know, you go to the discount, the big warehouse stores, it'll be on the discount book rack with like a 99 cent sticker on it in no time. Because every we already know the whole thing, all the excerpts are out. Everybody's publishing the excerpts.
So, why? Why would you even bother? But we're going to talk about that. With because she was on the view.
So that's awesome. The Yentas and Kamalas, fantastic. That is coming up. The First Amendment is under attack, but did you know? Because we're talking about it all day, but did you know you can help protect your constitutional rights by just using your cell phone?

So a little bit before we go into Kamala Harris, um I wanted to talk about what's happening in New Jersey. We've talked sometimes about Virginia, it gets a lot of play, but New Jersey really doesn't get a lot of attention. And I think that's because people just write it off as, you know, well, New Jersey's red, it's hopelessly red, blue, it's hopelessly blue, it's never going to turn back. It used to be red. I'm old enough to remember when New Jersey was red.
Fully aware of the politics of politics at the time, but I remember when it was a Republican state. And then we had a big influx from New York, and look what happened. Suddenly, it's blue. Here's a couple things that are happening, and this is important because New Jersey and Virginia, as I said, if they flip, well, if Virginia remains red with a Republican governor, and New Jersey can flip red to a Republican governor, these are really good signs for the midterms.
So in New Jersey, the New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police endorsed the Republican candidate. Jack Chitterelli yesterday. This is a big deal. Because they don't always endorse a candidate in the governor's race. They did endorse uh Phil Murphy.
Ugh. How they endorsed that man is beyond me. But they learned because he, you know, is he was super, super, super, he's a leftist and was against law enforcement, etc.
So they learned and then they didn't endorse anybody. And now they're endorsing they're endorsing Jack Chitterelli.
So that's that it's a big deal because he's definitely like pro-working with ICE. He's all for Supporting the blue, backing the blue, etc.
So that's a huge deal.
Now, also another huge deal, and this is cut. Yeah. Here is that this is his opponent. Her name is Mikey Sherrill. She's a Democrat, has only lived in New Jersey for, I think, about 10 years.
So she's a carpetbagger. She's like Hillary Clinton going out to Chappaqua, who just went to Chappaqua and immediately ran for Senate out of New York. This is what they do. And this goes back to May 21st, but the Republicans have made hay of this. And it came up again in the debate.
And there's also an ad running in the state with this clip.
So she was on the breakfast club with Charlemagne, and he asked her about some money that she made, because she was a senator, about some money that she made while she was in Congress. Listen to this response.
So when Newsmax claims that you made $7 million from stock trades, what are they talking about? Newsmax is, first of all, a very questionable organization that is paying multiple fines. I'm not sure what they're talking about.
Well, did you make seven million in stock trades at all? I I haven't. I I don't believe I did, but I'd have to go see what what that was alluding to again, what kind of came from. I would know if I made $7 million. Like, even if my husband did it, like, I would know.
I'd be like, honey, you're living a little high on the hog. Did you come into some cash I don't know about? Like, I would know. Don't you think you would know? But did you hear how awful that was?
And good for Charlemagne for asking follow-up questions. And the first thing she did, as a good socialist leftist, does is default to her Alinsky training, which is if you don't like the message, you go after the messenger. Discredit the messenger if you don't like the message. That's what they do. That's exactly what she did.
She went right after Newsmax on that.
Well, you know, Newsmax, they're questionable. But that has been getting a lot of play because during the debate, the Republican just said, you know You made $7 million. My business, I lost. He's a business owner, the Republican, has his own business. He does very well.
He's quite wealthy. But he said, I lost money. The last time I ran, but I lost money. You made over seven million dollars. In uh while you were serving in Congress, and you don't want to talk about it, you don't so it was great, it really worked.
So he's got momentum, he's still lower in the in the um Polls, but he has made some strides, just like Winsom Earl Sears has. And in South Dakota, a state representative there just flipped from Democrat to Republican, leaving the South Dakota State House with just five Democrats. The rest are all Republican.
Some good news coming up. All right, more on the Todd Starn show. Oh, I'm early. I'm early. Oh, hold on.
I'm early. Look at that. That's great news. I'm early. That's fantastic.
Okay, so because I have so much to talk to you about, so, President Trump. He has decided that his, we now know where his presidential library is going to be. It's going to be in Miami, in Florida. NBC News reported that in March, Eric Trump and Steve Woodkoff, one of his top advisers, had made trips to South Florida to visit sites at Florida International University in Miami-Dade, Florida Atlantic University, which is in Palm Beach County. They met with the governor, Ron DeSantis, who had been lobbying.
He wanted Trump to put his library in Florida. They both of those lost out. The formal location is going to be on land currently owned by Miami Dade College, which is near the Freedom Tower, and it's on the city's downtown waterfront. Prime Real Estate. This is what the Trumps do.
The formal decision to dedicate the land for the library will be voted on next week by the Florida Cabinet, which includes DeSantis and three other Republican statewide elected officials, and the vote is expected to be unanimous, which will formally start the process of bringing Trump's library to Miami. The Freedom Tower is all about the Cuban refugee crisis between 1962 and 1974. It was the processing center for thousands of, hundreds of thousands of Cubans who migrated to Florida. But guess what he wants to do with it? He wants to not only have the library, but they want to attach a hotel to it.
Which is brilliant because they're developers. This is what they do. So they got this prime real estate on the water in Florida.
So it's going to be as people will go just to go see the presidential library. And look at that, you can stay at probably a Trump hotel. Right next door. All right, now I'm out. Welcome back to Duck Hot Storm Show.

Just look for Mary Walter Radio.
Okay. Um. Let's go visit um Kamala and the Yenses over at uh The View.
So, again, you're never going to have to read her book because she's everybody is giving us the. The highlights of the books. There's going to be nothing left. It's like when you go to the movies and they play all those trailers and you're like, I've just seen the entire movie. There's no need for me to go see this.
That's what's happening here. Probably because they know nobody's going to buy the book. I don't know what her deal is here. But anyway, we'll start with cut three. Um.
I don't know. Listen to this and see what jumps out of you. Let's put it that way. Here we go. And by the way, another piece of what is unprecedented and a bit historical about that race, it is the closest presidential race.
in the 21st century in terms of the outcome. The question. You know, say that. Because he likes to say over and over again, he's got a mandate. And well, and that's part of why I wrote this book.
because history will talk about this race. It is part of American history. And it was important to me that when history is written, that my voice be present. Anybody else catch that? Like, to me, the needle just right across the record.
Younger people don't know what I'm talking about, but you should learn. It was one of those moments, like the jukebox stopped when she walked in the door. It was the closest race in presidential history at le in the twenty first century.
So you've really narrowed it down. But that's a lie, sweetheart. That's a lie. That is a lie. You won zippity-doo-dah.
That's what you won. That wasn't, it was not even close. But they and then the answers will suddenly go, Mm-hmm. Yes, yes, preach girl. Yes, they all sit there.
And Alyssa Farragin is just useless. And I feel sorry for her because I wouldn't want to be in that position. Because Joy Behar hasn't let anybody finish a sentence since 1964. And Whoopi, Whoopi's the same way. She says, Cut you off, gotta go to break, and off she goes.
So Alyssa Faragriffin's getting paid a lot of money to just sit there. And I will tell you, if that was my gig, I would take it in a and I would ride that pony as long as I could, right? Like, and I would be like Joy, I'd be getting the plastic surgery, and God bless Joy Behar. She's in her 80s and she looks fine.
So I have to give credit where credit is due, and I want the name of her plastic surgeon.
Well, I probably have to have her money, but she's kept it going. Sh she has kept it going, so good for her because, you know, men get distinguished, women get old, so it's very hard for women in television. You know, you you you pass like fifty, it's rough. Men, in their 70s still rocketed on T V. Women, not so much.
All right.
Let's go ahead.
So now Sonny Hostin here. She's so dramatic. Oh my gosh. I just can't with her. I can't believe she's a lawyer.
Well, then again, so is Jasmine Crockett.
So she's asking her, Sonny Hostin's the one who answered that question on the view if you could change anything about, you know, would you, if you could do anything differently than Joe Biden, would you? And she gave her this opportunity, and Kamala Harris said. No, there's not a thing I can think of. And that was like the end. That was like the death knell for her campaign.
That was that nail in the coffin. That is exactly what ended her campaign, right?
So, Sonny Hostin goes through a very painful process here of asking her about. That moment, and listen to what she does. She kind of answers it, and then she goes off into something totally different. If you recall. You were here twenty-eight days before the election.
And I asked you. If there was anything you would have done differently than President Biden during the past four years. And you said, quote, there is not a thing that comes to mind, end quote. You write, you had no idea, you just pulled the pin on a hand grenade. In the moment, I knew.
Mm-hmm. The Trump campaign weaponized your answer. Against you, my question. And some, including James Carville and Jake Tapper, point to that answer as a turning point in your candidacy. Do you think that moment Tip the election?
No. Good, 'cause Sonny wasn't want to take the blame. There was kind of a confessional happening here. No. Follow me.
Exactly. No, no. There were many things. I mean, listen. Oh.
I I do believe one of the biggest um Deciders of the outcome of that election was that the American people were sick of things being so expensive. Yes. Wanted that the prices would come down. And that's where. You know, this is part of why I wrote the book.
Which is let's remember in those hundred and seven days what Donald Trump was talking about. First of all, he said his number one priority and the number one thing he would do is bring down costs. That's what he said, and I believe there are a lot of people who voted for him believing that that's what he would do. Fast forward to today. Yeah.
Hello. Prices are higher. The cost of food is higher. Inflation is higher. Unemployment is higher.
He lied. My god, the voice, he lied! We dodged such a bullet, did we not? But did you hear what she said?
Well, you know, I don't think it was really that comment. What I really think it was is people were really tired of the high prices, things were too expensive. I'm like, yes, thank you for finally admitting it. You were part of that four years of insane inflation and prices going up and just disaster. That's why you didn't win.
And she kind of slipped that in there, but she tried to, in my humble opinion, she was trying to blame Joe Biden for that, right? Like, that's what she was trying to do there. All right, last one. And then we'll go on to some of the excerpts from her book because I know you cannot get enough of it because she blames everyone but herself. It's like Hillary Clinton.
Remember, she did that tour where it was like a blame book. If I would have won, or what was the name of that book that Hillary did? I forget what the name of it was. I'll look it up. But anyway, it's like a book where she just blamed everybody but herself.
All right, so here she is, and what happened, what it was like being her on election night. But that night I grieved. Mm-hmm. In a way that I have not since my mother died. And it was I was, the pain was, it was not at all about losing a race.
I knew what it was going to mean for the country. I was going to say for the family. And that's how I felt for the country. We all agree. I knew what it was going to mean.
But I knew. Uh-huh. Yeah. And I and and All I could say over and over again is, my God, my God, my God. Oh.
It was very difficult. I mean, I know everyone, many people experienced it in different ways. Yeah, well, you know, I was at that Philadelphia rally the night before, and I was sitting behind your husband, Doug, and Maya and your family. And I remember hugging them and them telling me, we got this. I felt so good going into Election Day, and then I read in the book that you did too.
I went into election day thinking you were going to win.
So did you. How did you not see it coming? That's what's amazing to me. But.
I was craving for the country.
Well, she wasn't grieving for herself because she's so generous. It's not about her at all. I would think you're not human if it wasn't about you. That's why you run for office. People who run for office, every single one of them who run for president, think that they're the smartest person in the country and they can do the job better than everybody else.
You have to have a huge ego. And I don't think that's a knock on that person. I just don't think it is. I think it's a personality type that makes you capable of doing of running for president. Just just the running for it is is mind numbing and exhausting.
And you have to have a certain personality.
So I'll suffer for that. But I just like it wasn't for me. Of course, it was for you. You're normal. You're human.
I think there's a soul in there somewhere. But yeah, it would be for you.
So I just thought that was interesting. Coming up, more excerpts from the book. And She throws so many people under the bus. This is so delicious. I love every second of it.
And by the way, the book by Hillary Clinton was. What happened? Do you know she's written over 30 books? Did you know that? I had no idea.
Hillary Clinton's written over 30 books. No clue. Huh.

So, talking about Kamala Harris, so listen to this.
So, she wrote in her book, so that you don't have to read it.
So, here you go, that she needed Tim Walls to be the closer at the debate that he had October 1st because she wasn't going to have another opportunity to debate Trump. But during the debate she said she turned to her husband in frustration. She said When Tim Felfort started nodding and smiling at JD's fake bipartisanship, I moaned to Doug What is happening? She wrote she believed Walsh was duped by Vance's mild mannered, aw shucks attitude. I told the television screen You're not there to make friends with the guy who is attacking your running mate.
She lamented that there was more more more writing on Tim's debate than there should have been, and she said that being the closer and debating on such a large scale was not a comfortable role for him. He had fretted from the outset that he wasn't a good debater. I discounted his concerns. He was so quick and pithy. In front of the crowds at our rallies, and a high kicker, too.
I thought he'd bring those qualities to the podium. Tim fell into a pattern of defending his record as a governor. Then he fumbled his answer when the moderator, predictably, questioned why he had claimed to be in Hong Kong during the democracy protest in Tiananmen Square. Tim had been on his way to teach in China, but hadn't left the United States on the date of the massacre. Instead of simply stating that he'd gotten the dates mixed up, but that being in China during a period of human rights oppression had profoundly influenced him, he talked about biking in Nebraska.
And then she mentioned a Saturday Night Live skit in the book after the debate that depicted her and her husband watching the debate, spitting out wine in shock, and she said it was an otherwise uncanny portrait of our evening, and Tim Walsh felt bad that he hadn't done better. And I reassured him that the election would not be won or lost on account of that debate. In choosing Tim, I thought that as a second-term governor and 12-year congressman, he would know what he was getting into. In hindsight, How could anyone know?
Well If you had watched... Uh if you had watched J. D. Vance, you would have known. You absolutely would have known because he's super smart.
She also, so apparently, also, she writes in the book. about when tr when Biden jump dropped out of the race via X. She made phone calls to top Democrats to feel out their endorsements. She said a handful of them offered their support right off the bat, and she named Bill Clinton, who said he was relieved that Biden dropped out. She also said, though, some of them resisted offering their support, so she shared some of her notes.
She said Obama said that when Harris spoke to him, according to the book, he said, Saddle up, d Joe did what I hoped he would do, but you have to earn it. Michelle and I are supportive, but not going to put a finger on the scale right now. Let Joe have his moment, think through the timing. Pelosi told her, That having that, the process should have included a primary style process. Not an anointment.
I'm so sad about Joe. It's so tragic. My heart is broken, but now it's you. It's important there's a process. We have a great bench.
We should have had we should have some kind of primary, not an anointment, she told Harris. Wes Moore, the Maryland governor, Said, you've found him loyal. You've been loyal. I respect that. Bernie Sanders said that he advised her.
He reportedly advised her to avoid an overwhelming focus on abortion. Please focus on the working class, not just abortion.
So she got a lot of advice, but not a lot of endorsements. And Pelosi did want a primary. And notice Obama, who wanted a mini primary too, said, Apparently, Davin Newsom responded, Hiking will call back. He never did. Ooh, probably 'cause he thought he was gonna get it.
Mm-mm-mm-mm. She is burning every bridge in this book. Pritzker said, Well, because we're hosting the convention, I have to remain neutral.
So I can't do it. Not that there was going to be any kind of nomination at the convention, but he said, Yeah, we're just going to let the dust settle, and so I can't do that right now. She also spilled the beans. I have enough time here to get this in here. She spilled the beans on something called a red file contingency plan that she and her team had in place a year before Biden dropped out.
It was called a red file, and it was a contingency plan in the event that something, quote, traumatic happened to Joe Biden.
So she knew a year before that Biden, there was a really good chance Biden wasn't going to make it to the election, let alone be able to run. She knew it. They all saw it. They're all a big bunch of dirty, dirty liars.
So, Harris's brother-in-law, Tony West, created a succession plan long before the president's announcement. He suggested, according to Harris, a year earlier, he had started what he called the red file. With a president in his 80s, it would be malpractice on my part to be unprepared if, God forbid, something should happen.
So, she paints this whole thing as her brother-in-law's idea. She had nothing to do with it. She stayed out of all the meetings. She wasn't in any of them. No, I'm not planning any kind of contingency in case my boss.
keels over. West had made a list of the first dozen calls to world leaders and political leaders, should Connella get the call, a plan for when to release her first statement on the rules of the transition, and the file only grew as the pressure for Biden to drop out intensified. West explained to her that it would be prudent to have a plan for the first 24 to 48 hours so people don't have to make a lot of decisions in the pressure of a crisis. She said, You know, I didn't really want to think about that, but you know, I realize that it's my duty. despite being the vice president to um you know it's a She left it in her brother-in-law's hands.
You know, I know it's my duty, but I left it in his hands. Brian Fallon, who she said participated in the meeting, said Biden dropping out wasn't going to happen. He was meeting with Netanyahu that week. But West was the first person she called when she found out when she got the phone call from Joe. She said, Joe told her, You're going to do great, kid.
Gonna do great, kid. Mm. Yeah, not so much. But so she knew all along that President Pudding Pants wasn't going to make it. She knew.
We all knew. Very quickly, regarding the shooting today at the ICE facility, we had a caller, Pastor John in Kentucky, call up saying the shooter probably thought he was shooting at ICE agents and then realized that he shot the detainees and then shot himself. Maybe we'll find out more as the day goes on over the next couple of days. I'll be with you tomorrow. Thank you so much, Cassie.
Thank you, Dylan. Appreciate you guys. Thank you to Todd for letting me sit in the seat. Todd's back with you on Monday on the Todd Starring Show. Have a great day.
