I didn't know. Who does it? You do it? Have you never seen Blazing Saddles? I have, but I want to, who's, who owns a harumph?
I've never harumphed before. We'll get it now. Perfect timing. Good to see you, sir. How are you? I'm doing good. Thanks for having me.
You got it. So let's just jump straight into it. The time of year now is to try and find the next great quarterback. Like we're finally hitting that road right now.
Yeah. How do you think Jayden Daniels' success is going to affect the evaluation of this position in any way, shape or form? I mean, ironically, it's kind of just what happened 12 months ago when C.J. Stroud played rookie quarterback at a level that none of us thought was possible.
And I think it's just going to kick down the road. Now, last year we had, what, six guys taking the first round quarterbacks? Yes. Right.
And then before we had a handful, you know, one, two, three right to the top. So I don't know that this year is going to play out like that. But yeah, I think anytime a rookie plays at that level, it creates an expectation around the next class. Now, for what I do for a living, I have a draft group right now.
I advise all sorts of guys. Like the expectations are, are just that, their expectations. And for some guys, the expectations will every year be unrealistic where the, you know, Caleb Williams wins the Heisman and has one more year at SC. The expectations were another Heisman and a national championship. Right. And so I think of Arch Manning and I go, his expectations for here on out will be unrealistic, like touchdown pass on every play.
But I also advise guys to not pay attention to it at all. So I think the narrative, the media will be that, you know, whoever it ends up being the top two or three quarterbacks go and the expectations will be unrealistic as they usually are. And these guys are gonna have their work cut out for them as they enter into the league. So if you don't mind, who are your guys coming into this draft class?
I've got a really interesting class. I've got some really good guys. Jalen Millrow from Alabama. By the way, we had him on a couple of times.
What a kid. I love talking to him, man. I loved talking to him. His personality, I mean, Awesome. It is infectious. He's a magnet.
100%. The whole evaluation on him is going to be talking about his athleticism, right? He is a, when I say unique, I mean, small group of people, right? So his athleticism for whether you call it NFL starters or in the draft is unique. He's like the fastest player on Bama's team, you know? So, you know, you don't need a 40 yard dash. I talked to Ryan Williams as receiver and Ryan goes, Oh, Jalen's faster than everybody. Okay.
Well then there's your 40 time. Right? And so everyone will talk about his athleticism, but you guys met him. I think his personality is unique. We loved it. A couple of times. Couldn't have, I mean, I wasn't in the same room as him, but couldn't have been more impressed. Really enjoyed chatting with him quite a bit. And so what, what is going to be the challenge when he walks in Indianapolis?
Do you think for him? Well, I think the interview, look, I think the combine now has become two things. It is a standardized medical evaluation for 32 ball clubs and chances for teams to get in a one-on-one setting and then a TV show. Well, you know, no, from my point of view, that's first and foremost, but yeah, I mean, that's the way the comp, the combine has been set up as, as a medical exam first, and now it's been dressed around some other things, but I've been in there and I've been sitting with all the quarterback coaches in the end zone quarterback coach from the teams, not people like I do.
And a lot of people are talking about golf and hanging out and go and kind of watching. And so like, that's not an indictment on anybody, but that's, that's why I don't go anymore. And so I think that's what it is. So I think, yeah, the medical is whatever it is. Right.
I do the stuff. And then, yeah, I think it's really crucial in the team evaluations, them getting to lock you in a room for 15 minutes and do all the games and all the things that I get guys prepared for. Is he going to spin it? Is Jaylen going to do it?
That is by the way, it's great. Certainly if we're assuming cam ward and should door Sanders will not right. Like this is again, I'm clearly biased, 100% biased, but this is a nationally televised audition is basically what it is.
And we will be talking about Jalen Milro for minutes on end for half a day on television, which I imagine is something of value in this world. I think there's really two reasons to not throw one. If you have an injury, obviously right ankle arm, whatever it is. And then the second one is if you kind of know your floor, right. If you, if you know, like I'm not falling past this outside of that, I'm not faulting anybody who chooses not to throw you.
You can, you can not throw. I just, I've had, I've been doing draft prep for 17 years. I've had a couple of number ones, a bunch of first round. I had a bunch of different people interact with the combine differently, but at the root of it, I kind of come from my brother, his school, which was, as you know, Carson was the number one pick and it was obvious all the way through the process. He played in the senior bowl. He played in the senior bowl game. He went to the combine.
He did everything. He went to his pro date. So I kind of come from my foundation of this is like, even the guy, my first exposure to it, who was number one and the agents are telling them not to do anything. And he's like, well, no, I love playing football and I have nothing to hide.
So I that's kinda, I advise guys based what's based on what's best for them. But at the end of the day, that's kind of the school that I come from. But Jalen's guy, Kyle McCord at Syracuse, he went to the school up north or no, he went to the school that they call you the school up north, you know, the, the one that wins national champion.
Yeah. He was Kyle McCord, Kyle McCord. That's a big Syracuse fan over there. He lost Kyle McCord brought us back. I mean, 10 wins ACC. The other thing is he broke all the ACC passing records.
There's names on that list. I mean, you're talking about Phillip rivers, you're talking, you know what I mean? Deshaun Watson, like some great quarterback. So just to think about it ended at Ohio state, whatever happened, however, went down then to go. And we just don't see a lot of these win-wins in sports where he goes, changes the program around, helps himself wins 10 games, Ohio state wins a national championship. Everybody you just don't see that often.
Usually there's a loser in that equation. Well, he beat, if I'm not mistaken, cam ward on the day Michigan beat Ohio state and his statement had me at hello when he took a little dig, you know, like, Hey, well we all know Ohio state, they moved on. So how, what, what do you project him at the next level to look like? He is hard for me to project what pick, what round.
Yes. Super comfortable saying this on here. This dude is going to start for a long time in the league. This is not a guy who could be really good if he gets better. And if he I've been doing this for a long time, this guy is going to play. This guy is going to start.
I don't like comps, but if I gave you a comps, they'd be some of the better players in the league. This guy can spin it. So we did this thing with Wilson. I'm a partner at Wilson and we partnered with the shrine bowl this year. So Kyle played in it. We put a chip on the ball.
I've been using this technology for years. So we measure the velocity, which is miles per hour, the spin rate, which is RPMs and the spiral efficiency, which is an algorithm a hundred is a perfect spiral. And we did a throwing session.
I ran it the first day and in front of the league, you know, it was like 300 people there and it was all no agents, just all front office and teams and coaches. And he's in the 95th percentile of all the NFL quarterbacks we've tested. So we go, okay, he can spin it. Right.
And then velocity. He was up brush line and then his S two or his AIQ scores, whatever those, they're not really doing the wonder like any more than these other ones. I don't, I don't want to be quoted, but he was like top five or top 10, something all time. Like he's at the top.
And so I go, what are the question marks here? So he's played, I think he's something in four, you know what I mean? In college, the 20 something and four, he was the top of recruit three times state champion out of high school.
Dad played like, you know what I mean? You start going through it and you're like, so why, why is, why do you have him here on the list? Cause I don't think teams see him the way that the media does. Who else you got? Ethan Garber's local boy from UCLA who can play and, and then found a diamond in the rough.
Ben Woldridge from Louisiana Lafayette went from Fresno state to Louisiana, had to walk on, had injuries and stuff, ends up conference player of the year, had a great senior year. And so we got, got a good group of four guys. Okay. How do you suss out Jordan Palmer here on the rich eyes and Joe, how do you suss out the quarterback class that we were all assuming is going to go in the first round?
Walk me through that. Yeah, I think it's early to have an opinion on what teams think or any of that. And I, I honestly don't read what people are saying. It's funny. I stopped paying attention to anything that anybody said, because a lot of earlier on in my career, people would call me writers and whatever to get, you know, interview about, about the, the draft picks and I didn't know.
And I go, all right, so if all these people are calling me and I'm like one of the best resources and I'm telling you, I have no idea, then I definitely am not going to read what other people write it. So I think he can work and play. I think I'm really excited to see him transition.
I think it's rare that you have somebody go to three different spots and play the exact same way. He just kind of like dominated at incarnate word, Washington state. And then lastly at Miami, I think Shader is just my word for him is just fascinating.
I'm just going to be fascinated by Shador Sanders. The son of that whole thing. I remember I was on this thing a long time ago. It's called the NFL legends youth advisory committee. Troy Vincent put this group of people together and we would talk about the growth of football and all that stuff. And we beat quarterly and I was the only not famous person there. This is prime was on, was, was on it.
Okay. Wasn't coach prime. He was prime.
But you know, Willie McGinnis and Nate Burleson before he was on TV and all these guys. And so Chad Pennington and, and I remember we had a 15 minute break and prime goes, Hey, let me show you my seventh grader. So like, I started paying attention to Shader then I go, can he move like you?
He goes, no, but he can play like Brady. Right. And so I've been, I'm fascinated. I've been watching it all the way through Jackson state, Colorado to the draft. So I'm just gonna be fascinated to watch them. And then the third quarterback is going to be really interesting.
I don't think that's going to get sussed out until the 30 visits are done. Is it Jalen? Is it Jackson?
Is it com accord? Is it some of these other guys? Well, you're referring to Jackson dart and that's the name that you see in a ton of mock drafts that you may not be paying attention to, but that's the guy that people are pegging as a trade back into the first round.
If he drops to go grab them and get that fifth year of contractual control. Yep. And that's the guy that you're, you're hearing a lot about on that front.
Yeah, actually on that. So I think most people forget that Lamar Jackson, that's what happened, right? He was the 32nd pick in the draft, right? And we, every year the draft comes around and it's like one through three or one, two, and then four, right?
You know what I mean? It's always at the top of the draft. I think this year, not a prediction, but I think this could be a year where we see maybe two guys go early and then we see like two or three guys go late in the first, you know what I mean?
Like people trying to get back in. I can't remember a time where we saw multiple quarterbacks go in the last couple of picks. You would know better than I would, but this would be that kind of year where I go combination of the types of players that are going to be there, the names we just said, and some other names too, but also there's going to be a run on D lineman.
This is I think potentially a historic D line class, you know? And so like, what does that do to the first round? Because everybody can use a D lineman, especially there's good interior D lineman and there's good edge rushers. So you can make an argument that all 32 teams are in the market for one of those. And I think that could cause like a mid first round, just run. Whereas like not everybody needs a first round wide out. Very few teams would take a running back in the first round, right?
Yeah. Well, unless there's Ashton, Gente, this time around that kid is, is something amazing. Jordan Palmer here on the rich eyes and show. And if you know, you just said it's not a prediction. I mean, you're, you're pretty damn good at calling your shot certainly on this program because a couple of years ago after Joe burrow got, it was last year, Joe burrow gets hurt. You're like Jake Browning is not going to just flop, keep an eye on him. And I think he wanted a lot of people, some fantasy leagues, if they were able to jump on him. And then you were also saying earlier in the, in, in training camp, don't sleep on Sam Darnold as a Viking.
And we saw what he was able to do. What, what would you counsel Sam Darnold to do? Where do you think would be best for him in the coming weeks of this crucial juncture? I mean, my honest advice would be to trust your instincts because he has such exposure to the league. Now he's played in three organization, four organizations. He's been on good teams and bad teams. He's had multiple coaches. And so I don't know that somebody at that point needs advice on, you should go to this place. But you know, I, I just think everyone's trying to find their quarterback, right?
And it's, it's tricky in Minnesota, right? Cause they draft JJ and then Sam, you know, really created, I look at it like a business, what Sam did. So what Sam did, you can go, okay, he did these stats and they won this game.
That's fine. I look at it like they paid him $10 million and he played like a top five quarterback, statistically speaking. No doubt.
Wherever you rank them, whatever, top five. So if you took the top five highest paid quarterbacks, which is essentially the franchise tag, right? You'd say what, 45, 50 million.
That's what that is. Yes. 50. Cause we got guys making 60. Okay. I think, you know, in, in the fifties, low fifties to mid fifties is, is what that number is. I'm not saying his contract moving forward. I'm saying that number would be 50, right?
Okay. So what you did is they invested 10 million and they got $40 million Delta in return. So think about it as a business. Somebody owes somebody something. I, I, if, if you invest money in my thread performance and I give you a five X, like I better get a good bottle of something. Right.
And so with Sam, it's proven it works. I don't know. I, I, you could, there's other places that could be better. But I just thought it was such a good marriage.
Kevin O'Connell and him are a good marriage. That locker room. I mean, you saw the game that he becomes the first guy to win 14 and they jumped in the locker room and they're throwing waters. And like, it was amazing. Did you see any of any of those, anyone else that, that happened again this year?
I did we get that on and their video and everything in the locker room. So that was the one time we saw that this year. I mean, this was amazing moment. And also Kevin O'Connell standing there with his arms folded, you know, just watching it play out like a proud dad. I thought he was like watching his fifth kid.
Exactly. Like he, and just proud and like letting the guys have their moment and then Sam having this moment, but this was also his last great moment of the year. So how would you respond to people who are like, this is his ceiling.
Sam just showed you where his ceiling is when he's taking on a competitor in a playoff, in a win or go home type game. How do you respond to something like that? Unfortunately, this, this is, this is a friend. I'm not going to call him out, but this happens and, and file this one away as you call games.
Sure. But, and I've called games before we, you got to get it right. I heard Troy kept saying, he's got to get rid of the ball.
I watched the tape. He's going from number one to number two and getting hit. Now there was definitely, I think one or two plays and one at one of the games totally took a sack. Right. But when that becomes the narrative and then you go into an off season, you start to con you start to fan flames that were like, there's nothing there. You know what I mean? They got whipped up front. He could have played better. The defense game. I don't know. I thought the, I thought the Vikings loss, I, I, you start splitting that blame up from my perspective.
I go, okay, here, here, here, here, and here. You know what I mean? Across the board. So I don't think either of those games were this guy through four picks. And so I don't know that the narrative changed. I look at the whole thing and I go, okay, statistically speaking at the end of the year, he played like one of the best five quarterbacks in the game. So that's how I look at it.
I know I'm drinking Kool-Aid here and I'm biased, but objectively, that's what I look at the, the body of work. And you know, the lions had a great plan and they just completely whooped them. And then the Rams kind of copied that plan from what I saw going back and watching the tape and borrow crossing the guard's face to loop the three. It was a lot of the same things that worked two weeks in a row.
And, and unfortunately the timing of it and the narrative around it. But I think, what does everybody think of Sam Darnold? I, if you ask the media and then you ask the Vikings locker room, I think you're getting very different answers. I have Jordan Palmer here a few minutes left with the QB summit founder and threads performance as well, thread performance as well. I've got a few minutes left with, with Jordan here on the program, the new head coach that the quarterback is going to thrive under the most, since we're talking about obviously Sam Darnold and Kevin O'Connell, perfect marriage, so on and so forth. And I, and I know when you've got say, you don't know who Pete Carroll's new quarterback is going to be. And Mike Vrabel obviously is not the one calling the plays for Drake May, but he is now in charge of Drake May's development. Which head coach is now the best fit do you think in the NFL for that?
I think Chicago. You like the Ben Johnson hire for Caleb? For Caleb, yeah.
Why is that? Caleb's going to be a superstar. I think this is the first, if you want to, however you want to chalk up his rookie year on his standard, I met him as a sophomore in high school. He's kind of been unbelievable every year, right? Then this is the first failure year, right?
Now you look at the stats and I don't think it was nearly as bad as everybody thought, right? But this was the first year that it didn't go awesome for him really since he was a kid. And sometimes when guys have a bad rookie year, high picks, I worry about them. Most of these guys have been around lead 11.
So I've been around these guys since they were young. When Trevor Lawrence had a bad rookie year, never for a second did I think that was going to affect his confidence moving forward. When Bryce Young got benched, I did not predict him coming back and roaring back for the second half. But I said, I don't think this is going to affect anything big picture for him confidence wise. I'd say the exact same thing about Caleb Williams.
I think he's going to be hungrier driven. That dude, he's done some fashion stuff and he's had painted nails. He's had things that we've talked about outside of football, but that dude works like anybody.
That guy works as hard as anybody. I think Caleb and that and Ben Johnson and Ben coming in and taking here's what's worked for Jared Goff. But now I get, think about it. It worked for Jared Goff and some great pieces in that Detroit huddle. But now he's got a guy with essentially top tier mobility that that's going to really change that.
We haven't seen a Ben Johnson offense with a quarterback that's mobile, but we've only seen Ben Johnson offenses that are like top five every year. So I am going to be fascinated and to study what Ben Johnson's going to do. And he said in the press conference, he's like, I am not taking the lion's playbook and plugging it in here. We're going to look at what we got and build around it. And I've got buddies there that all rave about how creative he is helping minded.
He is. It is a big step going and being the head guy. And from a play caller, that is a big step that I'm interested to see.
But in terms of the marriage between those two, I'm going to be fascinated to watch how good the Chicago Bears can get and how quickly. I love it. Before I let you go, I need, it's not to say that you you've been hedging since you sat down here, but I need an unvarnished answer on this question. Okay.
Okay. How is the mix going to work out with the new head coach at Santa Margarita Catholic high school? How has this gone? I know very rarely do I bring up high school football, but in Rancho Santa Margarita, there's a new head coach of this program, new sheriff in town. His name is Carson Palmer.
How's that fit going to be for your brother? You know, my brother moved back here. He's got four kids, oldest are twins, boy, girl, twins, and they go to Santa Margarita, which is his alma mater. He won two state or two CIF championships there.
Yes, he did. And, and it just crazy stuff went down and he ends up taking over the head job. And you know, they're in the, there's people watching this from all over Santa Margarita is a great school, but it's in the Trinity league. So that's modern day in St. John Bosco, which typically you're talking about the top teams in the country every year. Yes, indeed. So when you hear about high school kids making money or you hear about NIL, if you're a college or NFL fan or just a giant Rich Eisen fan, and you don't really have connection to high school football, but you hear these stories and all that, a lot of that is taking place in the Trinity league when you got people coming and going. So I would argue the Trinity league and whatever the best ones are in Texas and Florida are kind of like the least pure high school football. You know what I mean?
Because there's, there's money and there's stuff going on. And I know Carson's one of your favorites, right? Please, no time, no doubt. Same with my, my wife who covered him and Pete Carroll together at USC. I've known your brother for a long time and he's a big, we're big fans of your brother. And so I can, you'll understand when I say this, that he's going to bring a level of purity and, uh, and normalcy to a big time high school football league really and school because you know, this Carson was a superstar. He was the number one pick Heisman trophy and he retired the highest paid player in NFL history and never for a second as anybody ever thought he's entitled or had an ego.
So he is going to be able to bring that to a high school football program in a big time division conference, whatever it is. And I'm not involved in it and I just can't wait to sit back and cheer on the Eagles this year and watch my nephew spin it and my brother dial him up. I can't wait.
It's all good man. Uh, and then, uh, how's your nutrition company doing? How's that going?
It's awesome. I think last time I was on it, I brought some for your boys and um, we had just launched, it's been a hot start. We're six months in, have over 7,000 athletes using it. Um, the emails we get back from parents, the, my kids focus in school, my kids, um, energy level, they're, they're strength. Uh, we're just getting unbelievable emails from, from moms and dads.
Thank you for changing the conversation around the kitchen table because there really wasn't any, anything on the market that's a healthy option for athletes with developing bodies. And so as young as, you know, eight or nine all the way through leaving for college, uh, it's a, it's been a rocket ship and really well received. And, uh, I appreciate you. What's the website for people?
Uh, it's a www and it's thread performance.com thread performance dot com. And uh, we just signed our first athlete. I like, I don't like going's famous football guy.
I want to, I've had some businesses before. I always want to sign the consumer. And so we just signed a Mac Whitman. She is the youngest Nike athlete ever to be signed. She's a 14 year old soccer player, plays professionally.
She's going to be the face of women's soccer moving forward. So she was using our product and then believe so much that we have our first endorsed athlete. Brother. Great to see you say hi to your brother.
Yeah. And um, and thanks for coming here. And anytime this door is always open and you always make me smarter and all of us a happier for being here. So thanks for having me. You've got to, that's Jordan Palmer right here on the rich eyes and show. We will be back with your phone calls and talk about what's going on with the Yankees and the red Sox and the Mets. This is going to be fun.

Gate 4. And I was a kid. And he was my friend. So that's Lorne Michaels.
That's Lorne Michaels. He came out of the players gate. And I overcharged him for like three bats and some shirts, some Yankee shirts. And then when I became a cast member, I gave him back like $14 and some shirts. And he said, what's this for? I said, cause I overcharge you for some items. He started laughing.
He started dying. This is, when you said game four, like what, the 96 World Series? Is that what that was? Tracy?
What do you think? Let me see what game, I don't know. It was, it was a, it was a Derek Jeter. No, no, no, Manigli.
I think Manigli was played. Okay. So that was probably like 95 or something like that. Okay. So, so you're, so what were you doing out there? You were selling stuff.
So were you? I was scalping tickets. I was scalping tickets. I sold souvenirs and I sold cocaine. And that's when it was $21 a gram.
I'm getting $45 regardless of how it go down for me. So this is true because I live right up to hell. So I had tickets, I had cocaine, I had souvenirs. You had it all. That's what you're saying. Back in the day.
$21, $21 a gram. And so you sold hats and bats and stuff like that. And that's how you met. Isn't that amazing? Don't forget the coke.
You got something in there? Tracy really was hustle man from Martin back in the day. I really was. He was hustle man.
I was, I was, I worked souvenirs and I was Tony Montana on the side. Eddie Murphy playing Tracy Morgan and the SNL 50 is one of the most genius casting ideas ever. That was laugh out loud funny. That was one of the greatest three hours of television I've seen. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it immensely. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show radio network, sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk, furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry. Grainger has the right product for you.
Call clickrainger.com or just stop by. Listen, I know we're focused on the fisticuffs in the four nations or the lack of action in the NBA, all star weekend, but there's some fireworks we got to talk about. Breaking news Juan Soto showed up as a Met and he looked fit. Of course. What? Look at that.
Yeah, that's right. There he is showing up as a metropolitan. Looking all yoked up at a juice class. Look at him.
He's ready to roll. Keep it a Mets town in New York City. As you know, I've had a major problem with Juan Soto talking about this being a Mets town being New York City is a Mets town. It comes from a place of pain. We get it, you know. You know, I go high road whenever I can.
I do. I take my cue from Aaron Judge, who spoke for the first time all year long. And he showed up at the Yankee spring training facility, had a press conference, and he was asked not about the dumb ass comment Juan Soto made that has gotten me so upset at being a Mets town. No, I mean, and when Juan took the money and the massive contract from Steve Cohen to become a New York Met, he had mentioned that he did this because it was a better spot for him to win, which, you know, that I don't have a problem with. That's fine. He feels that way or wants to say that and speak it into existence.
Fine. And this is what Aaron Judge had to say when asked about that comment from Soto. You know, it's his opinion. He can say what he wants.
I definitely disagree with him, but I wasn't too surprised by it. You know, it's, I think that's where he wanted to be. I think that's where it was best for him and his family. And you got a pretty nice deal over there. It's like, I mean, you can't say no to that, but I'm happy for him. You know, he got a good deal. He's going to be in a great spot. It's going to be great having him in town. We're going to be battling back and forth for, for quite a few years. So I'm definitely happy for him. There you go. Definitely happy for him.
That's a high road. That means he didn't like him as a teammate. I don't know about that. I think he liked him as a teammate quite a bit. Seems like they weren't best friends. You think so? Well, I mean, Soto changed his number or after the season was over and he, he couldn't get in touch with Soto apparently during that process. I'm guessing Soto wasn't friends with a lot of those guys. I don't know.
Is that the way you're reading into it? Yeah. Well, you know, I, I guess you can win when your teammate isn't, I guess your best friend, I guess, you know, and something that hopefully your Red Sox will have to deal with because Alex Bregman's in town and you know, he won a gold glove at the third base position.
Raphael Devers plays third base there. And this is my second base. This is a growing problem. It's a growing problem. Coping so strong.
It's not, it's not, it's not a coping situation. You're just searching for issues. You're so scared. Excuse me.
Excuse me. You tell me now, now TJ, since he chimed in on our situation by saying that Soto and judge weren't friends. When judge has just taken the high road saying that's his opinion. It'll be great for him there. We're going to see him a lot.
We're going to be competing. You know, I don't know why somebody didn't ask judge, is it a Mets town or not? Because he knew the answer, but you made now chime in on this. Raphael Devers plays third base.
Okay. And Alex Bregman won a gold glove at third base. Devers with 15 errors, he might've won an iron glove at the position, but it's his iron clad opinion. Who's domain the hot corner is in Fenway park. He was asked about the idea that Bregman can play third. He can DH and that went over like the proverbial wet piece of flatulence in a house of worship.
Here's his response through his interpreter. Yeah. I mean, third base is my position.
It's what I've played. You know, I don't, I don't know what, what their plans are. Like, I know we had a conversation. I made it clear kind of what my desires were and, and yeah, whatever happens from here, I don't know. What would you react if they asked you to DH?
How would you feel about that? It was definitely a surprise. I'm someone that I, I believe in people's word and I take it to heart and yeah, it was, it was very surprising that, that they would suggest that since the beginning I've, I've known that this is a business.
I know that each side is going to do what they, what is best for them, what is most comfortable for them. I don't think that was the right way to do business. But I've always known that, that this is a business. Now, TJ. Whoa. Yeah. Right. I'm the one who's needs to cope, right?
I'm the one who needs to cope. Let me ask you a question. When you're being asked questions in a second language for you. Okay.
Right. And you need an interpreter to communicate your response back into English and the interpreter is doing all of that. And then you're asked a question in English that you don't wait for your interpreter interpret for you. You just say the word, no, no, no. You kind of understood the question to begin with, right?
Which is like, what if you DH? Nope. But I'm the one who needs to cope.
What do I have to, what am I coping with? Okay. Um, I don't know an issue that may be an issue. Let's ask the manager. Let's hear, let's hear what Alex core has to say. Cause he would know. Well, I mean, you know, he, he deals with personality is actually excellent at that. And I'm not being facetious. He's actually very excellent at this part of the job.
Cause it does seem like this needs to be dress massaged to use a bill Burr phrase. Here's Alex core on the subject. Like I said, a few days ago, like decisions are going to be made here about, you know, roster construction and what we're going to do in the future. And we're going to make sure we have the best team possible out there, you know, and he has a lot of pride. We know that, you know, and he, he, he feels like he's a third baseman. Who's going to work out as a third baseman. And then we're going to make decisions accordingly, you know, but I think here, uh, it's not about Bregman or Devers or Cora. It's about the Red Sox, right? And uh, whatever decision we'd make is for the benefit of the team. All right.
This is welcome. Alex Bregman, the Boston, Massachusetts. I don't think it's a Bregman issue at all. What is, what is, what is the issue? Stop making errors. You want to put, you want to play third base? Hey, play third base. Let me be straight up about this.
The third baseman on opening day for the Boston Red Sox, wherever it is, should be Alex Bregman. Oh, I know. That's not, that's not true. That's okay. It's not true.
Who's better. There's, there's a gold Glover. Well, the gold doesn't mean much. Very good. Okay. It's a popularity contest.
Is it really? Uh, yeah. How do you think Derek Jeter has a trophy full of gold gloves? He actually was an excellent fielder at the position. Okay. We can look up to the point where he inspired a whole youth movement of excellent fielders who were number two, including your new second baseman. My bad. The one who needs to change positions because the guy with 15 hours says, this is my spot. And when asked, you know, questions needed to have interpreted until the direct question of, would you be a DH hit?
And he answered no. So you think Deborah should be the third baseman for the Boston Red Sox on opening day? Yeah. Yeah.
What are we doing? Okay. And so Bregman should be the second baseman. Yeah. We have the best infield in baseball. Okay. So then when it comes down to it, let's just say you do, because the Yankees will be looking up, uh, at the Red Sox all year long.
Let's say there's October baseball. Uh, do I want the Yankee killer in the lineup? Yes. Oh, of course you want it.
Do I want both of them? Yes. There's two Yankee killers in the lineup now, right? So the second baseman in the third baseman or the third baseman in the designated hitter, this is not a problem. Yeah.
Paying him 350 million a DH. Okay. Who's your first baseman.
Interesting. Cassus. How good is he? He's a beast. Right?
Mashes. How good is the kid? Um, who's coming up and would be the second baseman if the position was open. Great.
He's in DQ play AAA. Outstanding. Yeah. Okay. Good. First class problems.
Top, uh, top three prospect in baseball. Let me ask you, TJ. Now you're, you're, you're, I'm tagging you in. Okay. Which one is, uh, which one, what, what am I the one coping or is there an issue right now at this position?
It's February 18th. Plus he's not going to let you see him sweat anyway. Even if he was trying to go, he's going to be like, what are we doing? Admit to it. Check back when you're at home and we're playing. Okay. You said Tristan, Cassus smashes. He does smashes. He's excellent. He was, by the way, he was on the, he was on the U S Olympic team. He hits Bob. He's very good. He's a big dude too.
He had 13 home runs last year. Well, he was out. Let me handle this. Let me handle it. Let me, let me, let me handle this. He had 24 the year before my first baseman smashes. Okay.
If I'm just going to, you're going to bring me into this. He smashes the one, the one that the Mets finally didn't want. Yeah. They basically told him to beat it, beat it.
And then he comes back around for he's where he needed to be. Okay. Got it. He smashes. It was all I'm two year deal for the Smasher.
He had 13 and 62. And by the way, it's just fascinating that the guy, the guy that is so committed to the Red Sox, that he needs two outs in a three year deal is the one who might be pissing off the guy that they actually did pay. They didn't run off to the West coast, to Southern California, the one that they actually finally did pay within a year.
Plus of him signing that contract, he now feels completely alienated. All I hear is cope. It's going to be a long summer. This is going to be fun.
This is going to be fun. Do you really think there's nothing to see here? You really think there's nothing to see here? I just made a mountain out of a mole.
I think it's February 18th. He can, will you at least describe the, the, the, for the radio audience, the look on Devers, his face. We also don't know what he's been told.
I mean, that's true, right? But he had to look on his face like he wasn't with it. He's been, we don't know what he's been told. Exactly.
But you know, he's been told it's an open question. It's not like, Oh, you're the third baseman. We just got, we got Bregman to play second. You're the third base. Don't worry about it.
I think it's play better, play better in the field. And by the way, if that actually leads to it, awesome. That'd be great. It would be, he kind of shown flashes of a nice look at the way he looks right there. It doesn't look very happy.
That's the way it's just like, what do you mean? I've got to eat all my vegetables. He looks like he sees something that he'd rather not have seen. Wait a minute. I don't understand a word you say.
He got no, I understand designated hitter. Didn't you guys smile on this face? Like what's this guy talking about? Oh my God. Look at this. This looks like a welcome to the team. Alex Bregman. Look at those eyes. He's like, I'm not going to be there. Devers is wondering, do I have two outs in my contract in the next three years? He still has like, but we're looking at, wait a minute. Hold on. There's the Red Sox. Oh my.
Your team is not better than ours. I don't know. I don't know.
What's the issue here? Can't wait to find out. Eight four four two oh four, rich number to dial polar bear back to wrap up this Tuesday program in a moment. That was fun. That was fun. That was a lot of fun. That's a checkbook though.

Now follow and listen on your favorite platform. Interesting enough, the NFL network is re airing that Rams Vikings game right now that we were talking about. We got it on over here with Jordan Palmer who could just made a sick catch. So the same thing with Cooper cup. His final home game is a ram. Where's he going to end up? TJ thinks Kansas city just seems like that might be the way I don't know, man.
That means D hops gone, right? Guess what anywhere would be fascinating for him. Why not Dallas? That wouldn't be a bad one because anything that makes sense. I don't feel like you will do.
So there's plus it would be Cooper throwing a Cooper at some point. Listen, Rich, what only in practice. Oh, okay. I got it.
This is that proponent. I think you have DAC as a top 10 QB next year. Oh, great question. Going into the season. Guess what? We got a lot of time.
July for this segment's for this segment's for the now. Did you see this? Cause I follow Aiden Hutchinson. Do you see him? Oh, you see it? No. Is he looking good? Is he back? Oh, baby.
You put this one up the house hutch. Look at that. I mean, it's unreal, right? Was it five months? He's getting there. Is that what it is?
No, no, no. Five months. That was October.
Wasn't it? So it's been four months. Plus look at him. Why couldn't you go get it hutch in about four more months, he'll be ready to go. And he's, what was it?
Mid, mid October. Someone always saw him at the NFL honors. He looked great. So he's walking, he's getting around, but he's just week six.
So yeah, she's just running into straight line here. Let's go. Let's go hutch.
Go get it, man. He was beast and two and he got hurt. Oh my God. He was on the defensive player of the year path as sack record. I think he's still, didn't he still lead the lions in sacks this year?
He had seven and a half and five games. And I think, I think, I think he's, that was the most on the lines all here. Yeah.
So that's like a 23 pace dude. I wouldn't blame all lions fans for sitting here saying, if we only had half the guys on injured reserve, look, it's a, they would've, they would've gotten to the NFC championship game at the very least half. It's an argument that can be made, man. They w at 1.13, 16, 16 on defense, right? Right. Injured reserve. So I don't think that from throwing five picks or no, this guy, we talk about teams, windows closing.
I don't think they're windows. No, I don't think so. You got to, I, you know, where Detroit's going to be first week of the season. You think so? Absolutely. I would be stunned if they are not in Philadelphia for the banner raising night. Interesting.
I would be stunned. Like the NFC title game where everyone thought we should have. That's exactly right. Yeah. As opposed to running back the NFC championship game or what if, what if miles Garrett goes to Washington, if wiles Garrett goes to Washington, then Fox would just storm the castle and say, you know, you know, I don't know.
Thank you for saying castle and not the Capitol. That's a little bit of a hashtag too soon, but they got two Washington games. Why not give one opening? I don't know. Yeah.
I don't know. That's true. Opening night. I mean, how many times are the giants and Cowboys on a Sunday night? That's what I mean.
Packers bears one year. I got it. No, I hear you. I just think it's Detroit and yeah.
In Philadelphia. And it's good to see a hutch running. Like he is running to say the least. Don't let the urge to sing along to that catchy tune distract you from that truck drifting towards your lane or that lane splitting bike or creeping up beside you. Because fortunately every Hyundai offers advanced safety features that can alert you to potential dangers around you. And Hyundai has over 120 IIHS top safety awards since 2006, because Hyundai is always working to make sure the road doesn't get you.
Hyundai vehicles have won over 120 IIHS top safety awards from 06 to 2024, Derek and Missouri. One of our favorites hanging on since jump. What's up, Derek. And I'm like, Rick, I just got back from Florida yesterday and telling my 16 to 25 hundred. So OK, really happy about how that turned out.
And so I just want to say this. The situation of Aaron Rodgers is going to go one or two ways. Of course, either he's going to retire or he's going to go to another team. If it was me, Rick, I would go the way of just like hanging it out, because if anything, I don't want to see the man parts of legacy like what we saw from Brett five years ago, how that direction pathway, if anything, because it was a train wreck from hell. What farm try to do with Minnesota and think about this when with Rogers being the Jets is two years far.
He won more games than his one year of jets that Rogers did with his two years, of course, of the injury. But anyone who's got to go want if Rogers wants to go somewhere, someone wants him, it's someone could be desperate. It could be to see or it could be the Vikings are to be that one team. We just really don't know. It could be a surprise. Well, I think before you let me go, Rick, Derek, I hope thanks.
Well, thank you, Derek. Missouri just gave us a hoorah from that. This is a story that was that popped over the weekend in the New York Post saying that in his last meeting with the Jets, that one that we were all talking about last week, where the new Aaron in town told Aaron Rogers, you know, what would be required. And apparently they decided to move on from Rogers based on that meeting.
The New York Post on Saturday said in his final meeting that Rogers pleaded with the Jets to give him at least another year or two. And I'm like, well, how does this get out? Like, what are we what are we doing here? Somebody acts grind. That's the whole thing with Rogers is that if if he's so beloved in that locker room, then who's grinding that axon? Right. I mean, because that's certainly not coming from Aaron Rogers, who, by the way, has not appeared on Pat yet. Right. He hasn't said a word. Correct.
That was off last week. No, I understand that. Yes.
Yeah. He hasn't said a word. We haven't heard from him at all. That's what I'm saying. Like, do you think this Rogers thing is the biggest offseason quarterback story?
Well, the biggest offseason quarterback story, of course, is Aaron Rogers. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer who may be done. I don't know, man. There were times when he he he still had it and I have no idea. He would know better than most or most. He would know better than anyone whether he still has it. And if he feels that he still hasn't, who would take him? Who would take him? Who would say?
And where would he be willing to go for a year or two? I don't know where that marriage is right now. And I think that pieces are going to have to fall first.
I know. I don't believe I'm saying that. I think Sam Darnold is a piece that's going to have to land first before Rogers and the same thing, but maybe Russ, you got a first battle Hall of Famer is going to have to wait for other pieces to land, to figure out what he's going to do next. I think, unless there is a team that just raises their hand and say, screw it. We'll just rip the knob off and we'll take you.
I don't think he's retiring. That's my two cents. Wealth building expert, Candy Valentino paves the path to success.
