Not available in all states or situations. Please check out the release of his new movie, Den of Thieves 2, on January 10th. So if Shay's out, he's doing some press, he's gonna join us. He couldn't miss this, because our guest is the 20 year vet. The biggest hero in wrestling. Dirty Dom Mysterio.
And he's gonna be joining us. And I figured if Dom's here, then something else needs to be here, and that is some chicken tendies. So you know, I'm gonna eat some of these.
I normally would never do that during an interview, but you know, because it's Dom, I feel like we need to show him the respect to give him the tendies. And look, they're just falling out all over the place. That's fine.
I'll eat those later. But look, make sure you follow us on all of our socials. There's no contest on Twitter. No contest wrestling podcasts on Instagram.
And you can find all of our videos on the Rich Eisen Show YouTube page. And with that being said, I'm gonna bring in my tag team partner, O'Shea Jackson Jr., and our guest, Dirty Dom Dominic Mysterio. Ladies and gentlemen, as promised, here is the man, the myth, the legend himself. Now, here at No Contest Wrestling, we've had plenty of guests, but I'm pretty sure, TJ, this is our first heel right here.
My man, my man, Dirty Dom Dominic Mysterio, welcome to the pod. Let me just start off right with a heelish question. Why does Whataburger suck and is not better than In-N-Out? Are you a Texan guy? No, In-N-Out all day. In-N-Out all day, bro.
He's LA to the bone right there. So my reason being is I don't really feel like I have to explain myself for it, but since you asked lightly, I'm gonna go ahead and explain. I've had In-N-Out my whole life growing up, right? Cali kids, Inigo, born and raised. Everyone always compared it to Whataburger. Oh, Whataburger this, Whataburger that. So I start hitting the road, traveling. I'm like, let's try some Whataburger.
I get the recommended and it's absolute dog shit. The patty was cold. The cheese wasn't melted. I don't do vegetables either way, so I don't know if lettuce and tomatoes would have made it better. I feel like it just would have made my burger even colder.
I feel like they just grabbed it off the fridge and said, here you go, my guy. Luckily, the only thing going for Whataburger is that they have chicken tenders on the menu. So I just put the burger to the side and ordered some chicken tenders. And you know, Dom, I wish you were here with us, right? But you're not.
You're joining us on Zoom. But what I wanted to do was show respect to the king of the chicken nuggies. So even though you're not here, I ordered myself some. I normally would never eat during an interview, but I feel like you'd be okay if I enjoyed a few of these while we talked today. Of course, I'd be more okay with it if you were, you know, a good host would have been like ahead of time checked and like, hey, where's he at?
Like my location. Uber eats my dudes, some chicken tenders, some chicken nuggets. But no, you didn't do that. You did it for yourself. And Dom, I would have, but the fact of the matter is, I didn't know we were getting you too very late today. So You're a liar. No, no, this is this is true, Dom. I wasn't sure.
So otherwise, I would have done that. And the next time you come on, please believe it's going to be done for you. I'm taking your word on it.
Please do. I'm a man of my word, Dom. I would never lie to you, first and foremost. Come on now.
I don't know. I heard a little tremble in your voice when I started questioning you. Well, I mean, you know, I don't want to get on your bad side, baby.
That's what that was all about. Yeah, come on. Now, Dom, I have always been a fan of the business and there are, there have been certain people who I've looked at as you know, kind of a motivation for myself whether it be The Rock or Randy Orton or just any of the, even Cody Roman Shane McMahon, anybody who is going in their father's footsteps and hoping to take the family name to greater heights. So I just want to let you know that you have for sure set yourself in that echelon of people in my book. You've been able to kind of take things and make it your own in such a special way. And a lot of that, you know, just the real super heel that you've become was after WrestleMania 39 in LA. And I remember meeting you backstage there and there was a moment where you throw water in your sister face and I asked you about it and you said, you know how long I've been waiting to do that. So please go through that moment with us, please. Alright, here I'm going to give you a little inside scoop behind all of this. I appreciate that that means a lot.
I know I'm only four years in I debuted in 2020, but I'm already so much better than my dad and I've already done things with the Mysterio name that he could have never imagined. So I appreciate you for taking that into consideration. But at WrestleMania 39 I was I was pulled aside by I won't specify who and they said, hey, don't don't do anything to your family up front. If there's something there, don't touch it.
Don't stay away. I was like all right. And I asked him, I was like, how serious are we about me staying away? You know, I was like, because my mother did, you know, try and slap me a couple times here and there. So I I pushed the buttons a little bit. So we started the match and I see that my as stupid as she is, she's holding the red cup right in front and just posted up there like you're just asking for something to either me slapping it. So first I took it because originally I wanted to take a sip of water or something. So I look at it and I realized that there wasn't too much in there. So I figured let's just throw it in her face. And if she and if she for whatever reason, she hopped over and put her hands on me, that's a soul.
I would have hit her back or security would have come and tackled her something she she needed to get taken care of. I would hate to disagree with you on anything you said, but you said four years in and I got to disagree because June the fifth 2003 is when you really made. So you know, you're the you're the young veteran, the 20 year 20 year.
Yeah, you're the 20 year. I'm humble. You know, I don't like to like to say that I'm all out there because I'm the greatest mystery of all time. I'm a humble guy. You know, I'm just a chill guy that likes to kick back and you know, mind is business.
But I am there is God. Well done. Let's speak about that WrestleMania 39. I was in attendance. I had a purple bandana on. I was rocking it for you. Just so you know, that whole entrance, man.
How did that come about you getting brought in and the police van? It was I know I was going crazy. The entire SoFi stadium was losing it. That entrance was amazing. How that how that happened. Honestly, it was it came about in such a crazy way because I didn't know about it until I want to say two weeks before Mania. We finished a Monday Night Raw or I got to a Monday Night Raw and boss boss pulls me aside Triple H and he goes, hey, have you heard about the entrance we have planned for you at Mania? I was like, I have no idea what you're talking about.
No one said anything to me. He goes, OK. He said tomorrow morning, you'll you'll fly to New York and you'll film something for for Mania. I was like, OK, cool.
Then I show up. There's this massive prison that I it's like an empty prison that I ended up going and filming it. And like it was like this whole thing. And I remember like the day of the show once the video package and everything came out, my original thought was I was a bit bummed out because I was like, man, I wish I could have done like like the big ramp, big mania entrance.
But then like the more I sat and thought about it and like I was like, man, now like fuck that. Like this is special. I have a special entrance for myself that like every because everyone goes down the ramp.
Right. But not everyone has a memorable entrance like on my second WrestleMania, you know, to have my own entrance with the paddy wagon in handcuffs, like the whole video package. Like honestly, it was it was it was a huge blessing to just be a part of that, man, because I really feel like that entrance is going to is going to live forever.
Yeah, man, I I start every show when I when I'm there right now. I'm doing promo for a film I'm doing with Gerard Butler in the first film. Don't let him down. Don't let him down. It's coming out in January. It's big time.
You know what I'm saying? But in the first dinner thieves, that was my first that was my third film, my first time going into action. And, you know, I had some grueling days, a lot of fight scenes and things like that. And that was kind of like my first time being like, all right, welcome to the movies like this is this is the life we chose. What was the moment for you where being a 20 year event that you are where you were like, all right, that hurt like, OK, welcome to wrestling like that, that that stung a little bit. I'm a I'm a remember that one. Oh, man, I'll tell you what, though, when I watched then the thieves, number one, you got me, brother. I didn't know I did not think I was like, he got I'm pumped to see what you guys got cooking on this next one now that you and Gerard are working together. So but to answer your question, I I really do think that during the pandemic, when I ended up doing that whole angle with Seth Rollins and what I ended up getting, as I like to call it, the kendo crucified when I just got in the ropes and be absolutely I think it was like thirty seven kendo shots total that I ended up taking. And I remember that night I got a lot of like it seemed like a lot of respect from from the guys in the back and almost like a welcome.
Welcome to the business kid type. Yeah, I'm I'm glad you guys brought that up because I had it written down. It was August 10th, 2020 when they did this to you. And I remember specifically watching that in your like you said, you're tied up in the ropes. Rollins and Murphy are they're just beating the dog crap out of you. Two on one, might I add. OK, they jumped my man Dom.
He was by himself. And Dom, I really was thinking like it it got uncomfortable after a point. Right. And I'm like, is this like their way of saying, like you just said, welcome to the business kid? It just it felt like it was like, OK, you know, let's just welcome him to the family in the most brutal way possible. Like I said, it was it was tough to watch, dog.
It really was. But my question for you, if I can. OK, you kind of got Murphy back. You stole his girl. You stole his lady. Don't think for one second.
I forgot about that because when you took her in my mind, it was like, hmm, James Brown. This is the big payback right here. This is big. My boy, Big Dom getting his payback on Murphy for those kendo shots. So now my only question is, when is sex payback? Because he got to get it to dog.
You know, like the payback's got to be more brutal than the initial attack. At the end of the day, I am. Well, I am.
I upgraded. Let's just say that I'm more improved with my way that by my side, you know, I didn't even I didn't even think about it that way because that dude kissed my sister. So they right. Well, it's all it's all a family of care. Right. But now that you are thinking about it, it's kind of like, OK, gotcha.
And even even said to my girl retired, his girl, like she's done. Oh, oh, good title. Like this guy's the go. I agree. I love to go.
I agree. I'm trying to tell you like this is what I do. What was that? Don't I miss that part? You said I breed champions.
This is what I do. Your bro dirty dog so much. It means so much you are because now diabolical Dom is what it should be at this point. Me and you have been cool for a while. You know, from the you know, from the beginnings with you on your pops to where you are now.
And I have been on Twitter trying to defend you every which way. They're holding you down, having your back into some points where I'm just like, I don't even know what to say for this dude. So what is some of your favorite things about being a heel? Because, man, you are good at it.
Let me tell you. I think I think some of the best things about being a heel is just having fun with it, man. You can't like you can't let the noise get to you. And I'm one of those guys where I never really like I grew up around a Mexican family, you know, our nicknames are insults. So like I have tough skin, you know, like you're ever like I was three years old. My mom's been pulling my ears calling me Dumbo. So like there's reasons why I don't like my family.
Right. So like I have tough skin. So like you block out all that noise. Like I don't really bother with it. So that's when you can start having fun.
Once you don't care anymore and you just keep having fun, you mess with people, you start ruining kids lives. You tell them their parents are dead beats. Like kids come up to you like, hey, birthday. It's like, sorry, little boy.
Everyone has a birthday. You're not special. It's so it's honestly a lot of fun, man, because it's it's just at the point where you just keep pushing buttons until you see like what you can get away with.
It's amazing. Yeah, they'll never make me hate you. They'll never make me hate you, bro. Never. Yeah, even on even on Twitter, I go I get on there, I log on, I post my little GIFs or whatever, and then I call. I'm done.
Yeah, they can't they can't say anything to you. I mean, you are you're untouchable right now. You're on fire just as a fan. Loving the work to loving the work. What I what I really need to see, though, as a fan, because I know you stay in Vegas.
Mania is in Vegas. We need a dog, bro. We need a dog.
We got to figure out where it's coming from. But I need you to be able to go home with a dog. I'm only three. I mean, I don't like that. Yeah, that's why I like that. That's right.
Which is crazy. Since I'm going to be the opposite of the undertaker. Well, Tom, look at it this way. Shawn Michaels is known as Mr. WrestleMania. I think he has, what, nine more losses than wins at WrestleMania. So, you know, nobody cares.
Like ever since ever since he lost the hair, nobody cares. Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. Don, let me ask you about this episode is brought to you by Progressive Insurance. When those boos started to come in after you turned, after you kicked the edge in the little edges and beat down your pops, when those boos came when you would try to talk on the mic, were you shocked at how loud they were, and how long did it take you to get comfortable with being booed that way? Originally, I was unaware of the reaction I was going to receive.
I knew it was going to be negative, I just didn't know to what point. I didn't know how far the fans were willing to boo me. I feel like that's why I started pushing those buttons, but even when I first started talking and trying to cut promos, and they were booing me and I just couldn't talk, it would get to me, because I feel like I had things to say and I couldn't get them out. It took me a while to get comfortable.
I had people in the back helping me as far as how to manage these things, and how to work in the moment and not worry so much about what I have to do or what I have to say, and I think that's what really helped me. Just getting a lot of help in the back from a lot of the more veteran guys, because I know I'm a 20-year veteran, but a lot of the older, older guys that I don't want to give away my secrets here, but I think that really helped me out, just being able to level it out and not worry that I don't always have to say anything, because at the end of the day, someone else will say it for me. Take us back to, there was a time where it seemed like you were on TV more than any other superstar. I think Cody might have had a few more matches than you, but what are you doing? SmackDown, Raw, and NXT?
What is that type of grind for us who are just enjoying what you're laying out? Take us back to that time, the North American champion and everything that you had to go through mentally, and did you ever hit a wall? Did you ever hit any type of running on E? I mean, I think there was a couple of times for sure, and I know for a fact I had more TV time than Cody that year, because there's no way he did, I was on NXT constantly, and I did SmackDown. I would do little snippets here on SmackDown, and I was constantly on Raw. I'm pretty sure he only had two or three more matches in me that year, but the fact that I was number two to most matches to Homelander is kind of crazy.
But the grind for that time was definitely real. I feel like that was another point in time where I was able to get a lot of respect from the boys in the back, because I'd fly out Thursday nights for SmackDown Friday, whether it was SmackDown TV or SmackDown Dark Matches, and then I'd do live events Saturday, Sunday, TV Monday, go to Orlando for TV Tuesday for NXT, and then I'd stay in Orlando at that time, so I wouldn't go home, so I'd stay in Orlando Wednesday, and then depending on if they needed me for TV, I'd fly out Thursday again, and that was constantly for probably a couple months. The whole time I held the title, I was constantly doing the Dark Matches, and I was on NXT all the time, and I was still doing the live events and Raw, so that was really insane. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only superstar that's ever main evented SmackDown, NXT, and Raw, all in the same week.
Legendary status. Come on, man! I look at you, man, and I know Dusty Rhodes, his nickname was the American Dream, right?
I get that, but I'm looking at you, bro. You are the epitome of the success a young man can make of himself, right? You came from a home which didn't have much love for you, obviously, deadbeat father, a mother who made fun of you, a sister who probably tattled on you every time you took a breath.
I don't even know if they're my real parents. Well, we all are a little bit not sure about that, and we'll probably get to that, but... He's a survivor. All of that that you had to deal with, dog, and now look at you now. Number one hill in the business. Sports Illustrated had you, what, number one wrestler under 30?
Number one? I mean, a dirty dog. How, dog, how did you, how were you, I guess, able to just climb up out the muck in the mud with just all the negatives that you had to overcome in your life to get to this point? You know, growing up in the hard streets of San Diego where... It's no joke down there, Don.
It's no joke, man. Where I had to, I had to, I asked for Mercedes, got a BMW. Just, you know, rough, rough. I had to, I didn't even, I had my own room, but across was my sister. So, like, I didn't even get my own upstairs space. It was just, it was really hard. I had to do my own laundry, which was crazy. Oh, hell no. You had to wash your own drawers, Don?
Did you wash your own drawers? No, not anymore. Not anymore. Back then, though. Back then, they made me do all of that.
Like, like, like, it was crazy. I didn't even get paid for it either. Which I'm pretty sure is illegal. It's child labor. Yeah, there's rules against that, Don.
That's true. And then, and to make matters even worse, when I did do stuff here in WWE for like SummerSlam and I ended up getting paid for that, I never knew where the money went. There's a Jackie Coogan law about that, O'Shea. You should know about that.
They make sure that the children get their money taken care of. I need to talk to her about that. I bought one bike and my mother said, oh, there goes your money. And I said, I did three pay-per-views how many weeks of TV and you're telling me one bike is, and I'm done?
What, you get a Harley or something? Like, come on. Hey, chill out, dude.
Why are you trying to defend her? No, I'm not. No, I'm saying, what, you get a Harley that all that money's gone in one bike?
Like, come on. That doesn't sound right. This has been Toys R Us Prime. This was like a little, you know, off the rack bicycle.
Pretty sure it had the training wheels on it. Did you dirty, Don? Dude, I'm dirty. Don, I'm on your side.
Don't get it twisted. I'm on your side, bro. I see what you had to go through and I'm looking at you.
But in all honesty, I like the glow up, the glow up took some time. You know, I went through, I went through a lot of phases as far as different places where I had to go live to perfect my craft. I moved to the Tampa, Florida. I was in Calgary training with Lance back in San Diego doing some stuff with that deadbeat. And he like, he never even wanted to train me. So that's why he just shipped me away to like different places. I think that's why I'm so good because he never actually taught me anything, you know. But even at that even at that time, I weighed like when I first started training, I was about like 260 pounds, not a good 260. So then I had to cut it all down. And like it's it's been a long journey, but but we're here, baby.
And we got a wetita and we dumped that other one and now we're solid. So Jay Lethal, if I can bring that up, Jay Lethal was one of the guys who helped trade you, right? Jay Lethal was my first one.
Jay Lethal, Conan, Lance Storm. So you're you're attributing your success or some of it to their teachings, right? Because you didn't get help otherwise. They took part. They took part. I feel that now. Oh, say obviously, it's a God given talent. He just needs some kind of, you know, he has to be molded.
Yes, of course. But the dude was born with it. There are certain people who are just the chosen and this dude is chosen, just like, you know, you talk about the dark matches and that really takes, you know, a person who loves the game to be able to give without it being necessarily on television in the spotlight, but just solely for the love of the game. And I think that's what the company knew when it came time for a friend of the show, CM Punk, when it came time for his return to put him against the number one heel in the company. Talk about the electricity that was in the building that night for that dark match. We all, you know, those who couldn't watch it, we all saw it online and just how thick it felt in the air in New York. So can you take us back there?
And you also did one in L.A., if I'm not mistaken. But just what were those nights like to be able to bring Punk back in with the graces of yourself? Should have been a WrestleMania pay-per-view main event.
Honestly, they wasted it in the dark match. Come on, man. What are we doing here? I had the great dishonor of welcoming Punk back after 10 long years. And, you know, it was everything I expected it to be.
Just an old man trying to do his thing. Things he still got it. I'm pretty sure you guys saw the match.
You went out there in some plain black underwear, didn't even have his gear. And it was definitely a sight to see. But overall, I'm glad the company was able to trust me to get in there with CM Punk and, you know, give him his first couple punches back as a nice welcome home gift.
But I definitely would like to not only have those two matches because that energy that we had in there was definitely something special. And I feel like he owes me something, too, because I don't know if he I'm sure he remembers. He sang Happy Birthday to my sister when she I was probably maybe like 12 years old. And he was singing Happy Birthday to her. And he cornered my whole family when he had his, you know, shitty long black hair. And what was that?
The straight edge society. Yeah. See, I didn't remember it because it wasn't it doesn't matter. But anyways, I would definitely now that I'm my own man and he doesn't have to corner me into a corner. I would love to get my hands on him again, you know, and now that I'm prepared and ready and, you know, I see I've seen kind of what he can do. So it's not nothing special. Does the same things. So I'm pretty sure I can can read his playbook or oh, actually, here's a good one.
I know is I know his move set. Oh, you're a lowdown. You're a political domist. I'm buying merch today. See, that was your first mistake. You should already had the merch because I got the dirt. I got so I got so I need to get more. I'm not getting that toilet paper, though, because that's not nice. I don't like that.
Yeah. I don't know who came up with that idea. I showed up at TV one day and they're like, hey, you see the toilet paper?
I was like, what are you guys talking about? And then they showed me a picture of the toilet paper with my face on it. And I guess in a way, that's just me being legendary again, because who's had toilet paper with their face on it in the WWE other than myself? Dom, you're getting you're getting broke off with a little bit of loot for that toilet paper. So I mean, I hope so. You should I mean, I'm pretty sure that that toilet paper sold out or something.
No one else's face would have sold out. That's for sure. Damn right.

Shopify.com slash Westwood1. Tom, you know, she was talking about his pops earlier and we already know the issues you've had with your father. We've seen them over the past 20-some years. O'Shea, I got a question for you though, dog. What would it take for you to squabble with your pops the way Dom has had to, you know, throw down with his?
What would it take for that to happen? I don't think your dad was a deadbeat the way his was. Yeah, it's different. You know, my man Dom, he's been through so much, dog. Like, it's incomparable. I would never try to put myself in the shoes of what this man has had to go through. The person that he has to look.
Yeah, the person he looked at in the mirror, he had to form on his own. You know, it's just two different circles, man. It's a pleasure to even have you on the show and for you to have the strength to tell this story as many times as you have, it's a parable, brother. So, I just want to let you know, man. You're a hero. You're a hero to sons out there, bro. Thank you, man.
Appreciate you. Now, there is something I gotta ask though because we ask this to everybody on the pod. It's one of our favorite questions. Actually, it's a two-parter because I could ask you this one for sure because you are a son of the business. Now, the first one is, you were obviously a fan growing up. You've been around it more than most people on the planet.
When was the first time as a fan that wrestling broke your heart? That's a good question. Thank you, man. You know, you can expect that on the no contest wrestling pod. That's what we try to do, Dom. We don't want to waste your time. You're doing what most people don't make me do and that's think. Hey, I got you, man. It's a safe space.
Let's see. Oh, five. So I was still young at the time, but when Eddie passed and just seeing the community and like I don't remember showing emotion as a kid unless I was like physically hurt or like because never nothing really like I always kept to myself. So I remember when we were watching at home when Eddie had passed and the video package that they played with the three doors down song and I just remember her crying as a kid watching this and like remembering him and just what he had done with me and just everything that like we had gone through in that angle. You know, so I remember that as like a wrestling fan that like got me because I knew like I wasn't going to see him again.
And then now as an adult being in the business it kind of sucks even more because not only did I know him as a person and I got to be in the ring with him but I get to appreciate his work so much more now because it's just I'm living through it trying to honor it and I just looking at his matches and seeing how good he was it just really it makes me appreciate so much more the time I did get to spend with him. You got one, TJ, before I hit him with the other one? No, since we're already rolling, let's just keep going. Let's get to this next one. This is our big question, Don. I can't wait to hear this answer. This is our fun one right here. Me and TJ, our very first episode we were trying to go through what's a good juicy question that you would want to know as a fan and we basically had similar questions and we formed it into this one right here. So, you in a bar, 50 dudes who do not want you there.
Bunch of dumb haters in there. Yeah, you need to pick, besides yourself, four other wrestlers so that team of five can make it to the car safe. Four dudes that you know got your back and I know you're in a faction so I'm not going to let you cop out with that. You're a 20 year vet so we're allowing you to pick wrestlers that you've seen with your eyes within those 20 years.
Anybody, no matter what. Because we've got to keep you safe, Don. We've got to get you to this track.
Yeah, we've got to keep you safe. Whether they win this or not, whoever you've seen within those 20 years, that's your team. You plus four get into the car. So, first one and I'm gonna, I just talk about him, Eddie. I'm gonna throw Eddie in there.
The only reason being is because I know he was a bad dude and I know he was the sweetest guy and very famously known. There was the missed spot at SummerSlam where, allegedly, Vicky was supposed to come out. Eddie was very upset and I remember when we got to the back we have these massive moving crates where like they just keep cables and a bunch of shit in there, but they're heavy like they're heavy crates and you can, you have to wheel them off. I remember Eddie got to the back and just was flipping those like they were absolutely, like it was nothing. Like it was absolutely nothing. Like the veins popping out of this man's arms.
I just remember and I remember at the time my mom grabbed me and kind of like turned me around to like not see it because it was like, it was like very Latino temper. So, I'm gonna go with my man, Uncle Eddie. Number two Bronson Reed. I'm gonna go Bronson Reed because I feel like that's that's one of my boys in the back. I've been trying to talk to the Judgment Day to get this dude. He's a big chicken tender guy, so I'm trying to lure him in with some chicken tenders.
So, I'm working on that, but I feel like that he'd have my back on that. Let's see, who's another one? I got Eddie, I got Bronson. So, I need two more? Two more. Damn, I hate to say his name, but I feel like I'd have to throw him in here just because I've been around, I've hung around him for way too long and I've heard his stories.
He's a crazy MF'er and I feel like if shit hit the fan he would find a way to make it out of there somehow, some way. And that's Damian Priest. You'll have to apologize for that one. We completely understand. That's the past life, you know?
We completely get it. You remember the good old days. That's what good people do. I remember the good old days.
To hell with them good old days. I remember what he's useful for and that's a big ass dude that gets people out the way. And he used to be a bouncer and security and stuff. It makes sense.
He has that fugazi karate, whatever it's called. This isn't about your feelings, this is about putting the crew to get you the same team. You get it. I'm not here to make friends.
I'm here to get out and get home to my guerita. And I think the last one Oh man. Look at the lock. I'ma go with Jacob Fatu. Solid. It makes sense. Only reason I'ma pick Jacob is that's another Cali kid. There's a weird thing with Samoans and Mexicans where sometimes we get along.
Sometimes we don't get along. But I feel like there's some history there where we might be good. I feel like if some stuff hits the fan with Damon where he decides to join if he decides to be 51, Jacob will take him out right away. So I'm gonna go with Jacob. Solidify that crew with final Cali kid. That's what's up. That's a solid team.
Tom, Eddie, Bronson, Priest and Jacob Fatu. You're calling your girl and you tell her you'll be home for dinner. Sweetheart, put the cookies in the oven Daddy's coming home. Tom, let me ask you this because you are the 20 year vet but your career isn't even close. We haven't even made it halfway through the greatness of this Dom Mysterio.
I might retire next year. Why? Because I'm on top. Dom, you can't do that to us.
You can't just leave. So I'm gonna ask you this question because I feel like we haven't even scratched the surface of your greatness and all the great matches you're gonna have. So I'm gonna ask you this. If we were going to take someone who's very new to pro wrestling and I would give them three matches to watch to get them hooked Dirty Dom Mysterio, the young OG, the 20 year vet. Which three matches throughout history would you say show this person and I promise you they'll become a fan of pro wrestling.
Match number one, I'm gonna go with I'm terrible with my dates but Worlds collide. It was Ico del Santo and Octagon versus Art Bar and Eddie Guerrero, Los Gringos Locos Best two out of three falls for it was a hair versus mask match and my god those guys just absolutely tore it down. It's one of my favorite matches of all time just because of the style of it it's things you don't see anymore.
It's just different and at the end of the day those guys get their haircuts and they took it like champs. So that's match number one Match number two I wanna say it's Wrestlemania 3 Steamboat and Savage So the storytelling with that, they just knew each other so well and it was just such a good match. You can put that match at any point in time and people are gonna be hooked For years that was the gold standard too Dom that was the epitome of what a perfect match was Yeah 100% because it's everything you want in a match. It has the story it has the finish, the emotion that gets the crowd hooked into it.
It's one of those things where I wouldn't change a thing. But I'm sure if you ask those guys they, I don't know, I feel like those guys were perfectionists and would be like oh no I'd change it but like it was a beautiful match And one more? Yes sir Last one 30 Dom vs. Dragon Lee I feel like I really outdid myself in that match there where I just absolutely shit on this kid and just took him to school He really thought he was gonna come in here with all this lucha royalty but I had to hit him with a sit down kid.
This is a third generation 20 year vet stepping in and it was one of my favorite matches just cause I retained my North American championship and it was as close to San Diego as I've gotten to defending my title and it was honestly it just felt special that night for some reason and I was happy that I ended up on top. And I feel like if you put that match next to anybody's, Dirty Dom's always on top Dom, thank you so much dude It's been a pleasure to talk to you man. You have been talking about getting this going for a while.
We gotta get you one day in studio and before the film comes out I'm gonna try to set up a screening for you and a few of the boys Let me know. You let me know Judge Mendeo will come through. And Dom before we lose you I think there's a picture that we have that we wanted to post. There you go. Look at all that. Look at that. There it is.
What a monster. Next Dom, whenever you're here in LA and you're sitting in studio that's what you should expect from us. Now that will come to make up for what I did wrong today. I apologize to you sir. I appreciate it.
That's a good host right there. Trying to be Dom. Trying to get stars like you to join us and eat nuggets and tendies with us. Appreciate you homie. Have a great day Dom. Ladies and gentlemen, the future world champion, the future hall of famer the man who just drug himself up from the dirt with no family help whatsoever, Dirty Dom Mysterio. Thank you boys. Man, what a great interview with Dominic Mysterio.
You know our audio guy Jason Feller just looks at me and goes, wait a minute, he really hates his dad. Look man, based upon everything we heard in that interview there was no love lost in that Mysterio household and Christmas is gonna be very weird if Dom decides to go there. And speaking of Christmas, it's next week we're gonna be off so we wanna wish all of you very Merry Christmas Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad, Happy Kwanzaa, whatever you celebrate, I hope you celebrate with friends, family and loved ones. Please be safe. We may be back for an episode on New Year's Day, we're not quite sure yet but regardless, 2025 man, there's gonna be big things popping here with the No Contest Wrestling Podcast and I thank you all for taking this journey with us. Hold on tight man, cause the train's just starting. It's no contest. Peace. My world with Jeff Jarrett, wherever you listen.
