Nick jump. The Browns take the lead. Wilson.

He's gonna get sacked. Miles Garrett. I'm the guy.

I'm number one right now, and I'm not going anywhere. Earlier on the show, senior writer for Sports Illustrated, Chris Mannix. Coming up, two-time Emmy-nominated actor, Mark Harmon. And now, it's Rich Eisen.

That's right. Hour number three of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air. We're live right here on the Roku Sports Channel. This Rich Eisen Show, terrestrial radio affiliate, smart enough to have a Sirius XM, Odyssey, TuneIn, and more. We say hello to everyone listening to us live as well as those listening to us on our podcast version.

Our exploits here, if you will, on our YouTube channel, we appreciate that as well and always appreciate return guests and love the fact that this man is one of them.

And I'll stop talking about him as if he's not sitting here. His new book is called Ghosts of Panama, where all books are currently sold. It was released Tuesday of this week after the success of his first book with Leon Carroll Jr., Ghosts of Honolulu.

They have come out with this book. It is time to say hello to you, Mark Harmon. How are you, sir? Good to see you. Thanks. Yeah, that's worthy of a round of applause. Good to have you back here, sir.

Pleasure to be here. You bet. So before you get to your book right here, we had Austin Stoll in studio here recently, who's playing your character in NCIS Origins that airs Mondays as well. He's playing his character. Oh, his character.

Pardon me. Well, I mean, the origin of the character that you helped create from back in the day. Well, yeah, the acting part. And it worked out well for a number of years, obviously.

And now Austin's got it at the reins and playing an earlier version of that character. So good guy. And I wish him well. Yeah. And he loved doing it. And he said he's loved meeting you. And these books, Ghosts of Honolulu, as well as Ghosts of Panama, obviously born out of that endeavor of those who are involved.

So how did you come about to create these books? Leon Carroll Jr., technical advisor on the show. Yes.

22 years. I've known him every day. I was asking him how to do something. How would you do this?

What would you think about doing this? That kind of thing. Kind of strengthening a character, building a character. And then at some point, I had said to him, you know, originally I came to this show because every show was supposed to be based on a real case.

Then you start doing a television show and it's not. And I said, at some point, if we ever get a chance to start telling the real stories of this agency, where it started, what you worked with in 1990, we should do that. And that's what these books are. And this one in particular deals with Manuel Noriega and Panama.

And Leon Carroll was also there in Panama during that time. So personal to him. And the first book was All Research, Everybody's Dead. But this is live people you're talking to, which has been really fun because most of these people have never been asked and never talked about it. And did you conduct some of these interviews?

All of them. How did you enjoy that endeavor of conducting an interview like that, Mark? Interesting. Right now you're the A of this Q&A.

Yeah, no, I know. But as you know, you learn about asking the right questions. And certainly the part about talking to people who have never talked about it, never spoken about what they did, because that was their job. But now they can talk about it and to have them be asked and be able to talk about it has been a great reveal. Because at the time it was very clandestine, I imagine, that they could not talk about it. What these people do, they don't talk about it.

It's not the job. They don't care if they don't talk about it. That's what they do. And over 20 years of doing a show, I just gained a respect for that.

And it's a quiet work that they have always done and they take pride in it. What's one of your favorite stories that you've elicited from one of these interviews? Well, just in general, you know, you take this book, Operation Just Cause, Manuel Noriega, Panama, from school, from talking to people you think you know pretty much about that story, which I did. And then you jump into it to start researching it for something like this. And you realize you knew very little. Really a powder keg, a very dangerous place to be at that time.

And people were there with their families, which made it doubly difficult. And just putting their lives on the line to get the job done. And did they, at any point in time, talk to you about your show? Yeah, I don't. It's funny, Rich. I have a great deal of respect for the men and women who do this job and do it well. And I've gained that over a number of years. And I'm not doing the show in front of the camera anymore. But I never, for a second, took that for granted.

I never thought that you can't do this without respecting the individual or the outfit that they work with. And now maybe I have a bit of a chance to pay that back. Mark Harmon here on The Rich Eyes. Everybody get Ghosts of Panama, perfect for this time of year when you're looking for any gifts to give anybody. A great book.

It's called, again, Ghosts of Panama, available right now wherever you get your books. Again, your autograph is on our back wall two times over on our Rose Bowl seats that we have right behind Chris right there, as well as a Billy Wyatt stealing home baseball bat. I saw the bat.

The bat is over there right behind Chris hanging on the wall. So we see your name every single day. Do you ever dream that you're playing for UCLA again? Did you ever wake up one morning, go, oh, you're back in uniform for UCLA? No. Never once. Never once. Never once, no.

Okay. And so your tenure playing football for UCLA began. Did you beat Tom Osborne in your first career win? Or was Tom Osborne not there yet? I didn't beat Coach Osborne. I was on a team that defeated his team. Look at you. Okay.

But look, that's not what I'm saying. Just Rich as a kid, I mean, that's all I dreamed about is being able to strap on a headgear and walk out there in the Coliseum one day. My dad was a broadcaster, and I would spend Sundays sometimes at RAM games running copy up and down from the press box to the basement where the printer was. And I used to look at that tunnel that the players came out of and said, wow, wouldn't it be something one day to come out of that tunnel, wearing a uniform?

That was it. That was really a dream. And did your dad display the Heisman Trophy in the house? He didn't display it. He had a desk that he always had in his den. He had that trophy there on the desk.

It was also next to the Maxwell and some others. But I just remember as a kid, and you had to reach across the desk because it was on an upper shelf, but you couldn't get to it physically without leaning across to grab it. And I remember trying to grab both legs and lift it. Of the Heisman Trophy. As a kid.

As a kid. And it didn't budge. It's a heavy trophy. He used to tell a story about when he was awarded the trophy, how he took it and handed it right to his mother, who was up there with him.

And it about put her through the floor. This is 1940. 1940, Heisman Trophy. He was University of Michigan. Your dad's a legend on that campus. He certainly is. And his name gets mentioned.

And obviously, when you talk about great quarterbacks in the history of University of Michigan, with Tom Brady being there, and hopefully the new kid that they just are going to get signed in the next couple of weeks, will be part of that legacy. Your dad is always mentioned in that regard. So he was one who inspired you to say, hey, maybe I could come and play for... He never talked about it, Rich. It wasn't something he woke up in the morning thinking about. And he believed that if you wanted something or worked at something, you needed to have that burn inside you individually. And he didn't talk about it much.

I wish he had. I'd know more. So you were the UCLA quarterback, 72, 73, and 74, or just 72, 73?

No, two and three. I came out of junior college. So what was it like being the University of Southern... University of California, Los Angeles?

Wow. You can't make that mistake very often. The UCLA quarterback. What was it like being the UCLA quarterback at the time when Wooden is doing his thing with everybody on the basketball side of things? You know, the locker room for football was right across from Pauley Pavilion. I was an early out because I was a quarterback, and I also held on field goals and stuff. So I would always need to get out there early.

And part of that was getting dressed. And I'd always walk across from the locker room and sit in the top part of Pauley to put my shoes on every day. And every day, every day on the court with one ball boy was Coach Wooden in a pair of sweats, in a letterman jacket, doing set shots from around the key. Pop, pop, pop, pop, ball boy kicking the ball back out to him. To him?

To him. You're watching John Wooden shoot hoops? I sure was. Every day.

Whoa. How was his shot? Like you'd think.

Like an all-American mini. I remember another day. Bill Walden came down. I heard him because Bill always rode a bicycle on campus, and he had a 10-speed with the seat jacked out of Bolivia.

It was so high, right? And he would carry that down the steps into Pauley, and he'd walk it across the edge of the floor and then go to the locker room with it. But there he was. He came down, and there was Coach Wooden shooting, shooting.

He never looked at him. Bill took it around the perimeter, and as he went by, you could hear Coach say it. He said it very calmly because of the acoustics inside Pauley. He said, Bill, get a haircut.

And Bill just didn't say a word. Picked that bike up, went right back up the stairs, and probably drove down to the village to get a haircut. You would hear John Wooden tell Bill Walton to cut his hair. Get a haircut.

That's it. Because there was a story about that. There was a story about about his senior year, and I knew this because I played with his brother, Bruce, and Bill apparently went to him and said, look, Coach, I've been here for three years, and at the time it was Vietnam and all that, and he had a little bit of a growth of a beard, and his hair was a little longer. And he said, you've been told it's important to speak up for what we believe in, and and this growth I have a little bit on my face, my hair, it's a statement of how I feel and my stance. And he said, Bill, I admire you telling me this. I admire your stance and what you think, what you believe, what you feel in your heart, and we're going to miss you.

And he got another haircut. Wow. Great stories, Mark.

Great stories. Mark Carmen here on The Rich Eisen Show. I've got some other aspects of your life and career that we've put together, and I don't know if we did this before with you, one of the many times you've been here, but a segment called Celebrity True or False, where you tell us what's true and what's not. Okay, here we go. Hit it. Hit it. Celebrity True or False. You can't handle the truth. There you go.

That's our production. Oh, got it. Okay. Have you ever worked with Jack Nicholson?

Never once. No. Okay. Okay, here we go. First up, true or false, Mark Carmen, your first acting job was a Product 19 commercial with your dad, Tom Harmon.

That is true. He was a spokesman for Kellogg's Product 19, like a brand of Kellogg's cereal. Oh, by the way, it was one of my favorite cereals growing up.

I'm not kidding you. It was not something that was on the breakfast table, so I don't know much about it, but I did a commercial, yeah. Okay, and oh gosh.

We ate breakfast in the backyard. There it is. Yeah, and how about that shirt? Wow. Geez.

That shirt just about put me in the ground. So you were just sitting and having breakfast in the backyard? That was your first? No, it never happened, but yeah, and I had a line at the end of it, yeah. What was your line? Do you remember?

I let dad win. It was his ball. Okay. I think. All right. Something like that. We played basketball at the top end of the... Okay, I got it.

We were playing one-on-one, which we did do. Looks like a very wholesome breakfast in the Harmon table. Very, very.

Mark, I'm not going to lie. My mom. So that's your mom right there? Yeah.

Okay, so this is your first. So did you get the acting bug off of this? No. That came later.

Not at all. That came later. All right, so let's get into your acting career. True or false. Sean Connery's role in the Presidio, the 1988 film that you did with him, was originally offered to Marlon Brando.

Didn't know that if it was. Okay, so that. Been a different film. It would have been a different movie, huh? Probably a different actor playing the role than me too. Okay.

No, I never heard that. So it was always him attached with you attached to this film? From the moment I heard about it, it was Sean. What was it like being on the set with Sean Connery?

Bigger than life. I mean, my impulse about what I thought that might be when I first met him was big. I mean, I was just a kid and the idea of standing up on a mark next to 007 was daunting, a little bit. Do you have a good story, a good Sean Connery story from the Presidio mark? I just remember that we shot on the Presidio for a long time and the Presidio had a golf course and Sean loved playing golf and I just know that I was in every early shot and every very late shot and he got to play golf. So I know he was happy about that, but other than that, I don't.

Well, I mean, it's funny because we've had Andy Garcia on the show. He said, was it him or Costner who said this, that Connery would do a lot of his roles in The Untouchables with his golf pants and shoes on knowing that he was only shot from the waist up? Yeah, I had some of that too. You did too? Yeah.

I'm talking out the door, Rich. He was, I mean, you sometimes didn't get a second take. I mean, it was like he had a tea time and he was gone and yeah.

And would he communicate that to you? No, no, no, just gone. I mean, no, nope. Okay. Not like just saying, get this right because I've got a shot.

No, I'm not going to say he didn't care, but he didn't care. All right, next up, Mark Harmon, true or false? You were when you were on the West Wing and playing Secret Service Special Agent Simon Donovan.

Allison Janney, one of your co-stars broke the news to you that Aaron Sorkin was eventually going to kill your character off of the West Wing. Day two. Yep.

Day two, she told us? Yeah. And you had no idea? No, I said, how do you know that? And she said, she just said, because we're getting along too well. What? She said, yeah, they're going to kill you.

Yeah. Which was news to me because all I had was one paragraph of dialogue. We were in Montana on a family vacation at a ranch and I got a note that Aaron Sorkin wanted to have me do this show and he sent a paragraph of the character talking, a piece of the dialogue and on that is what I based going to work very soon, like a couple of days after that.

But that's all I knew about the character when I accepted the role and then the rest of the material came and he was right about getting killed. And so day two, you're on the set with Allison Janney and then what happened? And she says, welcome and all that and we're in makeup trailer, I think. And she said, you know, they're going to kill you. And I said, how do you know that?

And she said, because we're getting along too well. Damn. And then sure enough, one day you receive a script and you see. Yeah. Memorable, but dead. That's right.

Very memorable. Yeah. Because is it true that that's what puts you on the radar screen for NCI?

That's a story I heard, but I don't know that that's true. We shot it in New York and the crew was shocked. I mean, when we shot it and they kept it kind of quiet and we shot it and people were emotional about it. Yeah. And I was emotional about losing a job, but well, then they were, they were, it was a really good group of people to work with and sure. And working with her was special.

And, and, um, and I, and I heard that story that you just said about someone seeing that and thinking about, uh, NCI is for that. Well, yeah. I mean, so did Allison Janney have an I told you so moment with you? Like I told you that they were going to kill it off. Okay.

I think for her it was next, you know? Gotcha. Uh, well then here's another one, Mark Harmon, true or false.

Your NCIS character, you know, Leroy Jethro Gibbs was born out of a two episode arc on JAG. True. That's true. Yeah.

So they put the cassette. That's what I heard is that the creator of JAG saw you on West Wing goes, let's get him on here. Yeah. That was a guy named Don Belisario. And, uh, I had never met him. I had heard of him certainly. And, and I asked to meet him, uh, because I wanted to meet who I had heard about and we got along and, uh, I was offered the job. And then, then NCIS was, let's, let's take that character and create, um, create a show around this character.

Yeah. I think it was at the time they, they called them backdoor pilots kind of thing where all of a sudden, uh, I didn't know the show JAG. I knew it was successful and had been on a few years.

Um, and that's why I asked to meet Belisario because I just had heard about him. He had many successes prior to that. And, um, uh, it was, it was a well-written script and character and, and the players that were playing other roles, David McCallum, um, they, they were all so good poly. I mean, they were all, you know, so, so specifically good for the characters they were playing.

It's almost like, you know, he had an opportunity prior or on other projects to meet all these different people and kind of put them in holding patterns until he had the right piece of material to plug them all into. And I was part of that. So, um, yeah, it worked. And how many seasons you do NCIS? 22? No, not me.

I, I did, I think I did like 17 or 18. If somebody had told you like when you're on the, uh, on, you know, doing your two episode arc on JAG saying, this character is going to give you 17 years of television. Oh, I would have laughed. Right? Yeah.

I would have been hysterical because as an actor, you know, on TV actor, you're, you're, you're thinking if I get a couple of years out of this or three years, I'm coming three or four years. I mean, you know, stop. You're thinking too, too long. Right.

I had done a couple of series shows and one I think went four and a half years or five years or something. And, uh, I thought that was unbelievable. But when you're talking 20, I mean, you're talking Ozzie and Harriet and stuff like that. I was about to say chasing down gun smoke. Like no one's ever thinking you're going to be doing that. Yeah. Now, now, I mean, I'm not there anymore, but they're into like 22 or 23 or whatever.

Unreal. Last one for you. True or false? This one, this one's a good one. Mark Harmon. True or false?

You're part of an ownership group of the minor league team, San Bernardino spirit and Ken Griffey Jr. played on that team the same season before getting called up to the Seattle Mariners. Is that true? True. No kidding. Yeah.

And the first year was really fun because we actually ran that as an independent. Yeah. Right. And then we were doing the next year. Yeah. And that was due to a good friend named Barry Axelrod, uh, also an attorney who I went to school with. Yeah.

And, uh, we did that together and that was fun. I mean, a minor league baseball team and that was special. Look at that photo.

I can't believe we found a photograph of Jr. in his spirit. That's right. Uniform. Yeah. The, the, the, the, the mic guy, you know, and this is just a little park, Rich is just out in San Bernardino. Right. And, but, you know, this, he was special, even that. You could tell. Oh yeah. He was special. And, and I still remember the broadcaster every time he came to the plate, you know, it's Griffey time.

He would light it up. Did you meet, did you meet the kid? Yeah. Yeah. He was just a kid.

Just a child. Yeah. Yeah. And, but, but I cut him up. You could tell. I'm not a scout, but of course you're a fan.

I know, but he was terrific and you knew he was going somewhere. Yeah. Did you enjoy being a part owner of a baseball team?

Yes and no. It's a lot of work. It was, huh? A ton of work. Yeah. And especially the first year when you were, you're doing everything yourself because you ran it independent. Yes.

And that was like a fun idea to talk to you about over a beer, but, but doing the work part, I had a lot of work. Is it true you used the same stadium for Stealing Home? Yes.

You did. So the, the scenes at the beginning and the end of Stealing Home were shot in that stadium? Yeah.

The Scolani field. Right. So you, yeah, you, you, you told Ken Griffey Jr. beat it because Billy Wyatt's got to get it. It's Wyatt time.

It's Wyatt time. You got a little work. It was good. That was all fun.

I remember those days very fondly. That's great. Mark, I always appreciate when you take the time to come on down here. Thanks. Thanks for the time.

Thanks for being able to say, come on over. Absolutely. And what sports are you watching these days? And what are you taking in? Well, I'm, I'm watching anything that's on. That's me.

I'm coming up on Saturday or so. I'll be watching the UCLA USC game. Big 10 football, huh? Can you believe that too? Yeah, exactly. Can you believe that?

I do believe it. You're playing, you're, you're, you're part of a Big 10 legacy deep down. Yeah. I mean, your dad played for Michigan and now your school's in the Big 10, man. You never probably thought that that would be one of those type moments.

Well, I've always kind of grown up with it and, and you get a chance to walk into those stadiums and, and you know, in the Midwest and, and then you walk into the Rose Bowl and you say, well, same size, but not as filled. Right. And maybe there's an opportunity to do that. And that's part of this, you know, this, this move. Right. And you watched the Tyson fight. I know you were talking to Maddox about it.

I did. Yeah. Yeah. Kind of.

Yeah. He doesn't want to admit he watched the Tyson fight. No, neither do you. We all got duped.

It's fine. I was saying, I'll just reveal the conversation we were having. I'm like it leaked, but we didn't spend the a hundred dollars, right? Like, like a pay-per-view that, that would have felt like I would need a shower, you know, after that.

But you already had Netflix. Yeah. But honestly, is, is that not justifying it a little bit? I mean, we did watch.

We did watch. Right. So that's the part that you got to own up to. Yes. At least we're not alone.

I mean, 60 million households. Yeah. Yeah. I know.

What does that mean? I mean, you know, does that make you feel better? No.

Slightly. Oh, come on. I, I, you know what? And I, I do it again.

That's the, that's the sad part. I got one more question for you before I let you go, if you don't mind. You're married to Pam Dauber. As far as I know. Okay. You have been for, for since 1987, I believe, if I'm not mistaken.

So for those who may not know, Pam was Mindy of Mork and Mindy fame. Do you have a good Robin Williams story? A bunch. That you're willing to share? No. Okay.

I'm sorry. It's like really like a cold answer, but those are her stories. And if she wants to reveal them, that's great.

But anything that he's ever been with you, any, any conversations? Yeah. Early on. And there were, there were some things where, you know, we were in the same place at the same time and just really talented, crazy talented individual.

And I had seen him prior to at the comedy store a number of times, even before the Mork and Mindy stuff. Right. Yeah. It also, listen, she's good. And it takes a special person to stand opposite that and hold your ground and, and, and be the bounce off. And she's like, I don't know.

I don't know how she did it because it's hard work. She made it look easy for sure with him. I just didn't know if there was something where he came over to the house or anything, that sort of thing, or, okay. Yeah. Oh, you know, there was a time early on at one point where he came by, but it was a very brief come by and, and he never actually came into the house. And actually he arrived at my house.

This is when Pam and I were dating. Yeah. He came over and he was early.

He was supposed to meet her and she hadn't arrived yet. Yes. And I didn't really know, except I had a work gate out in front of the house that was solid and, you know, the fabric on it. And, and I just heard a horn honk and I was, I was working on something and I came up and looked from the driveway out like toward the gate, which is about 30 yards. And there was this guy standing on the roof of a car because I could see his whole body over a gate. And he was going, hello, hello, anybody home?

Anybody home? And that was Robin. That's how I met him. So that's how you met him. Yeah.

Yeah. And then I opened the gate and, you know, as a physical gate, you had to go open. So I opened it and then he came in, I shut the gate and, and he, he, he just, I mean, he walked in and he was going just like a machine, like coming through. I was building the house. It was, you know, being built, framed. And, and he asked about 30 questions in about 10 seconds.

And, and, and I tried to answer, but I was way behind on the questions. And then, and then Pam drove in and I said, man, he's here, but don't ever leave me alone. That's the only story I got. That's a great story. That was it.

Well you tell me your wife liked the movie that's where it started. Well she yes well I mean look to me most people love Stealing Home if not everybody.

It's a universally loved film and a lot of women um really fell in love not just with the movie but with you and I think my wife might have been one of those. Well Rich the last thing I do is walk around trying to give away Billy Wyatt baseball bats. So I know which is very appreciative. Here it is I'd like to hand it to you. To do what? Just to hold it and say you know basically and just to put a Billy Wyatt baseball bat back in your hands. What are you what are your memories? I remember that there are only 12 of these made okay and uh and like I said I had a couple and now I have one. Well I'm honored I'm honored that you gave one away.

This is yours. Thank you I appreciate it I'd like to sign it but sure why do you think the movie resonated and still does? You know I only know from being an actor and knowing the two guys Will Aldiss and Steve Campman who who wrote produced and also directed co-directed that that that movie and I just know that it was a script that um hit me like it hit everybody who was in that movie and we all tested for it including Jody I mean everybody did and I and I I just think it was one of those movies you do because you love the material I mean it was a tough shoot we all worked hard we all carried lights and did everything else we had to do to make it happen. No kidding uh yeah Jody Foster was carrying lights? Yeah she was she was part of it it was it was all all for one I'm really a team effort and it's one of those movies that you know good bad people like it don't like it whatever I I just am proud to be part of that experience. Universally loved it really it's nice to know it really is. Such a great hang back on the Rich Eisen Show radio network I'm sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry Grainger has the right product for you call clickgrainger.com or just stop by uh fun stuff with Mark Harmon Chris Maddox in hour number two as soon as we're done I'm staying after class to record a conversation with Kyle Hamilton of the Baltimore Ravens in advance of the Monday Niner so look out for that on our YouTube channel throughout the weekend we greatly appreciate it fun chat right there huh what a hang that was great he's a legend yeah absolutely right great summer school great stories indeed that's what I'm gonna say that's it summer school was I uh however young I was catching that on tv it was just amazing and I will watch it any time it comes so very generous of his time and his stories right there it's now as a Friday time for what's more likely presented by BMW hit it please hit it what what's more likely never say never but never all right Christopher floor is yours guys great to see you what up you too happy Friday everybody good oh my god oh my god 10 seconds we won't get back hey what's more likely to be the higher total this weekend Christian McCaffrey touchdowns Jordan Love turnovers oh oh McCaffrey yet to score uh since coming back um I'll go I'll go Jordan Love turnovers unfortunately he's been doing that a lot lately he has he'll be doing that a lot lately but they still win that's what I'll do it's either do you did I I mean the Packers defense is no joke no they're nice dude and I'm kind of worried about Brock Purdy that's exactly right which means which means the offense might not be as crisp so I'll go Jordan Love man all it takes is one potentially if McCaffrey doesn't get in the end zone again yeah I don't even know man I honestly thought that Brandon Allen Brendan Allen I thought I thought for sure at this point in time we would get a healthier Niners team and they'd start a winning streak going coming off their pie and off they go yeah what else Chris uh how about this one uh I mean look anything could happen the Browns won yesterday two and eight home team to pull an upset uh Tommy DeVito and the Giants or the Raider all right Tommy the DeVito and the Giants are taking on the Bucks home for Tampa coming off a bye yep the Raiders home for Denver home for Denver good lord can they start uh Daniel Jones in time uh can we check their website has the Raider website been hacked Daniel Jones is on there too oh man I'll go Raiders division game yeah division game is it gonna snow in Las Vegas no no I'll go Raiders division game throw the records out uh Giants coming off of a buy uh Bucks coming off a buy against the Giants that's a taller order with uh Tommy DeVito yeah what else and plus Malik neighbors has got a groin injury he's not oh no he's not practicing I don't think oh yeah yeah you know good uh this was your uh one more in your top five rich I think it could be sneaky interesting at least who's more likely to get in the end zone Anthony Richardson rushing or Amman Ross Saint Brown keeping that streak alive receiving Ross Saint Brown is it eight straight dude nine that's one of my more prouder uh calls in the last few years him being top five two years ago I said three years ago I said it I think you were pretty early on him year two I think in his career I'm like this guy's top five yeah so yeah I'm I'm sticking with Amman Ross Saint Brown yeah by the way you know you know Dan Campbell is spending time with Aaron Glenn this week challenging this defense to say this kid's not getting in the end zone this kid's not getting in the end zone I don't care how big he is we're not letting him get in the end zone and we're gonna spike the football in Indianapolis in the same way we're spiking footballs in people's faces everywhere I think they put up 40 again I think they have the potential to do it for sure yeah yeah well I mean obviously what what a what a limb I'm going out on the team that's scoring 50 saying they have the potential to score 40 I think they can and I think they how about it screw it I think they will attaboy way to bait me anyway good job thanks what else hey what's more likely to be the higher total on Sunday guys Justin Jefferson receiving yards or all bears wide receivers yards combined come on dude what is your malfunction over there the Bears stink that's that's not my mouth I'll go all bears wide receiver yards combined Chris come on dude they're not good Justin Jefferson happened when was the last time you had a 100 yard receiving game has it been a while I believe so let me take a look because I will have this right here um in front of me didn't you just trade him away I did and I'm he's now playing I'm playing against him this week um he it's been three weeks all right yeah he had a buck 37 against Indianapolis in week nine a buck 15 here against the Rams in week eight and it's only two of his three 100-yard receiving games on the year okay so I'll go bears combined when was the last time a Bears receiver had that 100 yards that one I don't have for you I'm saying it's been a while able to just be able to whip that one uh in your direction well to quote you you got the internet in front of you oh my god unlike very unlike Justin Jefferson though he only has one touchdown in the last six games all right so that's a little that's a little shocking Chris do you like Bears or Viking you like I'm taking the Bears receivers combined yes Chris I'm taking that how about this one a huge uh Sunday night game whose house Rams house uh you're going what's more likely you're going TBD I'm going you are I am you need seats nope okay nope all right go ahead and sell them to an Eagles fan like you would you know that you like you will I I vet oh like the old stadium uh what's more likely Saquon Barkley has more rushing yards or Puka has more receiving yards oh I'm going Puka I'll go really yeah oh well why does that surprise you oh yeah he might have put Ian Mitchell on him no I mean that might be Cooper cup on him well for fantasy purposes I'm hoping that's not the case because I've got Puka against his Saquon oh maybe I'm grinding an axe I've got a little bit of a uh I want to just take this moment to thank T.J. Jefferson for starting Russell Wilson in a snow game against me oh as opposed to Gino Smith so the streak cost myself maybe four points okay all right let me well listen I'm on a roll there too wow once upon a time oh and three now seven and four well you're taking an L this week sounds good I'm taking Puka all right Puka all right how about this one Saquon I have 200 yards rushing brook okay you might not be wrong more likely to be the higher total more likely to be the higher total guys chiefs winning margin or cowboys point scored and by the way rich it wasn't snowing when the game started yesterday okay so let me just say this cowboys have 16 points combined let me just say this first of all there's something called a weather app chiefs at pampers trying to keep us on task here two two two this man who's asking me this question right now okay chiefs winning margin or cowboys points scored as what's more likely I will go uh cowboys points scored Chris number one but number two you are you are on this train of higher registering the Carolina panthers this week against the Kansas city chiefs you think this this game is going to be way tighter than that the panthers are going to be good I think this is a weird week there's not a lot of pro high profile matchups we just saw a snow game last night in which the two a two-win team won I think we could have some weird results on Sunday oh okay you know what I mean yep I hear you um and let me just take this moment now but the cowboys are terrible since we're already um talking about my fantasy matchup I have a few more so with tj go ahead and read that while I hold on a minute place Kareem hunt back in my starting lineup yeah pacheco not playing mike davis of 2024 his fantasy oil continues to burn brighter one extra week yeah that's it pacheco not playing Kareem hunt is playing all right more likely more likely to be the nfc west favorites on sunday I thought he was trying to plow through jay i thought he was out Kareem hunt is back in my starting line trying to plow through oh look who's now projected to win more likely to be the nfc west favorites after sunday cardinals or seahawks look at that sorry i was lost in beating tj according to our projections get back on the course here rich i'm really trying nfc west favorites after sunday it'll be cardinals cardinals will still be the favorite yep okay yeah that's what's more likely in seattle dude they're a better team aren't they they're coming off a buy too in okay with seattle seattle where let me let me get this right maybe raining let me get this right let me get this right definitely raining i know i know this is really going to be potentially difficult for me to to rain all day sunday seattle where they were where their their previous game they lost to the rams right and the game before that they lost to buffalo right there was no way and the game before that they lost to san francisco right and the game before that they lost to the giants right you do realize that they've lost four in a row at home which i don't think i can't remember the last time that's happened it's not gonna continue i'm taking the seal okay it's gonna rain what else chris uh how about this one uh this is some new we mentioned this briefly earlier uh two 2004 drafted quarterback most likely to make the hall of fame on the first ballot eli manning this year philip rivers next year neither neither are making a first ballot not an option it is an option not an option what's more likely than it's eli's more more likely his first ballot come on as much as i love philly riv and his bolo ties and his ostrich boots and his dad gummets and and the you know the thing that may have been my favorite thing of all of them is his absolute dislike of jay cutler long line you know i i understand that but just everything that makes you know philip rivers philip rivers he he he didn't win two okay and he didn't win two against the the patriots either great player for a long time okay okay do you think we need one more oh sure all right what a shock that there's one more are you serious yeah who's the more likely son that gets to sit next to jack harbaugh for thanksgiving on thursday john or jim what does that mean what does that mean favorites rich i don't know what that means it's always a favorite are you asking me who wins monday is that what you're saying that might be one interpretation i don't even know what what you're aiming at here who gets to sit next to big big big jack i don't know who's i don't know who's on the house that jack is going to i don't know i mean they these these harvalls have jobs i'm working on thanksgiving are you they're not working on thanksgiving they don't play they practice there's practice hop on over asking what are you asking are you asking that there's a favorite kid and thus i have a favorite kid is that what you're saying no it's odd that you would go in that direction because clearly you have a favorite kid all right um who's who do you like on monday um i i i think i like the home team i think i like jim in this one so jim sits next to me okay is that so that's that's what you're saying dumb he's asking who sits next to you at thanksgiving a very dumb finish a very dumb finish who does jack call first on tuesday okay that's what's more likely presented by d bmw raising the bar for evs the new all-electric bmw i-5 leads with responsive engineering and seamless driving technology we saw one of them babies in munich seems seamless like my segment there's electric and then there's the ultimate electric driving machine god i love those we take them tell me about i miss i want one so bad i miss our i-5 can we get our i-5 back just we got room in the concept i came up with it's an instrument used to punish let's just find those common items if you see them you automatically think back to me in that moment so it's one of those things i wanted to just implement in like my whole character reading the most dangerous man in aw the no contest wrestling podcast part of the rich eisen podcast network wherever you listen back here on the program you have a question for me jason feller yeah what are you what can i do how can i help you how can i be of service what's your expertise yeah play jared goff or jordan love this week now you asked me that question off the air i did and what was my response to you ask me on the air okay and here's my answer to you i'm not telling you damn thing thank you he's playing me well oh no i'm not you're also you're also income comp why would i help you do a damn thing i was trying to sneak it past him why would i help you wait so what are our standings right now right now um we're tied mike hoskins rich eisen show coordinating producer oh yeah you guys are 34 he's a die-hard buffalo bill fan white folding tables he's put the folding in the folding tables last couple weeks losing streak oh my gosh i took him out last week oh rich has won four in a row how do you see that i can't find that because it says streak well this is on the desktop on the desktop on the app you can't see it yeah i know what you're looking at i'm just saying it says right there by the way shout out shout out shout out jordan jordan was in the basement and he's won four in a row to have himself and play off contention okay yeah so why would i help snitch has lost five in a row he is you know falling and can't get up yeah he's he's first alerting that's it's not good so yeah i'm not helping you all right thank you rich you're welcome i'm not helping you but i told him to wait until we're on the air for me to tell him that waited a good like minute curse for you to give him some advice only for you to stomp in them none of what you just said is false tj with a win you're back in the playoff mix that's a bro my team is now we're we're healthy right now first time all year five is pretty much set you know who's not winning this week that guy okay you want bet on it well i don't bet well we could make a randolph mortimer gentleman's bet oh a singular dollar that's how we do what's the projection dollar right here i think i don't carry cash oh tj's favored by nine now that's right i know well he's got mike evans one dollar hoskins one back here on the rich eisen show everybody sleep number right near you make sure you go to that store certainly if you are in the market for a new bed and when you go to a sleep number store they will take care of you on the spot they will make sure that you can have your body's pressure points assessed and recommend a bed at every price point that's just right for you so definitely stop by at a sleep number store right now if you're in market for a new bed again you should do that you should do that at a sleep number store near you there you go and another thing how dare you try and how dare me yes you and you tj jeff how dare you dial up the stefanski sound buddy okay i saw this sound bite in print on my phone last night while i'm sitting at the poker table i'm thinking to myself this is a fantastic sound bite i bet you it sounds great but i just know if i play it on the show the next day i'm going to hear it from brockman and tj yep well you were right okay nick shub scores twice last night yeah and this is what kevin stefanski said about i mean nick chubb who against the steelers last year how does he explode on national topics everybody thought he's never coming back not as he come back but now here he is in the snow in one of these afc north snow globe games scoring twice and this is what he had to say yeah i've run out of superlatives for nick honestly and he's my favorite player on the team you can tell everybody else has said that uh i have a favorite kid too she's not here um but you know nick does the right thing all the time and to see how what he's gone through to come back and put himself where he is uh just to be back playing in the first place and then to be back out there and performing like he's performing scoring for this football team when we need him the most uh he's he's a special special player but he he's a he's a great person and so you guys were going to come out and say i have a favorite kid now i mean we know you do here's the thing everyone with more than one kid has one that they like better it's not true it is 100 said it dion has said it but he also says his he ranks his children based on how he ranks them weekly depending on what they do so there's a favorite there man oh man so and i knew it he's got three children and now you say that i have three children so i must be in the same boat uh he has three kids obviously he has a one girl who's the youngest and you know what he said that was his favorite you know what he said he said that do you know who what the split is in his household two boys one girl correct yeah and the girl's the youngest and i have two boys and one girl and the girls are young yeah and just like in my house me and my brother are older and my sister's the youngest guess what guess what you guys are way off how dare you try to put me in a position i don't know why you're trying to say cooper is your favorite not your favorite yeah so coop's the favorite yeah where's the magic eight ball what happened to my best dad ever son well that's not good oh wow it was there it's over the rain has finally come to an end rain on the top chris you know jason you know one day taylor's gonna watch this episode and her whole world's gonna be just right because she always thought that she was daddy's girl and now he's coming out and saying that she's i don't like the way you guys are stirring this up i don't think it's right i don't think it's appropriate papa when you when you envision these conversations you always make it sound like it's like oliver twist in my house like it's peter pan they're gonna walk out of their night shirts holding the candle light to talk to me papa i thought that was your favorite awful stupid stuff hey it's rich eisen here join me and my compadre chris brockman every monday on the overreaction monday podcast rich jamus has taken the brows to the playoffs dude why can't they win seven eight games to finish the year why not i'm not saying that's no why not but this is a definitive statement that's clearly an overreaction and it's perfect fodder for a show like this one i appreciate you coming out of the gate hot come react or overreact with us overreaction monday wherever you listen it's game over over man
