That's right. Welcome to this edition of the Rich Eyes and Show. What a day we have in store for you. We've got three hours to talk about a very busy sports weekend. Week seven in the national football league has two games left in it. Two Monday night football games tonight, including the Ravens and the bucks. That's an exciting one and the chargers and the Cardinals.
And there's everybody else to talk about. Also, we had an exciting game five finish in the WNBA championship to discuss that left one of the coaches talking about being robbed. We also have a world series that is hitting just like my childhood, our childhood DJ Mikey D back in 1977, 78 and 81. The Yankees and the Dodgers are going to be matching wits for the right to be world series champions.
That is all set. And the NBA starts tomorrow night. The NHL is up and running.
That's why we've got phone lines to burn up at 844-204. Rich being the number to dial all three hours on this program right here on the Roku sports channel. This Rich Eyes and Show terrestrial radio affiliate Sirius XM Odyssey. Tune in. We say hello to our podcast listeners.
All three hours are available through the Rich Eyes and Podcast network with our friendship through Cumulus. Once we are done today, Chris Brockman and I stay after class for the latest edition of overreaction Monday. And of course there's tons of action to which we can overreact with Terry McLaurin of the five and two Washington commanders holding their breath to find out just how injured Jayden Daniels is.
And we hope he is not because guess what? The commanders next face the Chicago Bears and I would love to see Daniels versus Caleb Williams. We'll talk to Terry McLaurin about all that on this program and Damian Woody of the worldwide leader in sports will join us to discuss among many matters what we saw on Sunday Night Football. Good to see you over there, Chris Brockman. How are you? I'm great, man. What's up?
The aforementioned DJ Mikey Diaz and Deez Nuts. Good to see you. I'm glad that you're here because I'm sure you've got four days to set up for the World Series. So on Fox.
No, really. When are you checking out? By the way, on Big Fox. Yeah, I'm on Big Fox this weekend. Good to see you over there, TJ Jefferson.
How are you? Well, I mean, I should be sad, but I'm not. I want to thank the New York Metropolitan for making this baseball season a fun one.
I was ready to tap out in early May and stretch it out. Then Grimace got it done and then Hawk Tua got it done. And then last night the Dodgers spat on that thing. So I don't have to go get a Grimace tattoo.
But I would have. Here's the good news, too, for all of us, is that Carl Anthony Towne's flowers have kept very nicely over the last 10 years. For those listening on the radio, it looks like they were just delivered to troll on TJ Jefferson and got through the Cowboys' bye week. They're blooming a little. I watered them Friday. I put them out so they could get some sunlight.
I saw that too. You're taking care of your water. You're watering that garden, sir.
That's not a metaphor for anything. Listen, let's start this program with the story that we have been focused on for more than a year. We have been focused on for months. And as you know, we deal with narratives on this program.
We're not really an all 22 show. We deal with story lines. And there are story lines that are week to week.
And then there are story lines that are season long story line arcs. And one of them that we have been paying attention to for months, ever since he showed his work ethic by making sure he got to Pittsburgh right by getting any means necessary through everybody's brains, how hard he was going to work to get a starting job in this business. Black and gold. Here we go. By flying through Newark Airport. Which is, as we know, a choice.
Oh, big one. Even if you live in New Jersey. You've got the coin to say, you know what, I'm going to Teterboro. I'm going to private to Pittsburgh.
No, no, no. Russell Wilson showed up in the airport and was taking pictures with people in Newark Airport, which is again, a choice. I can't wait for his next interview here for you to ask.
Oh, I cannot wait. Dude, Newark. Really? Just like that.
That's how you have to ask. Have you not heard about the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey? I go to I digress. But the bottom line is he goes to Pittsburgh, P.A. And and within days, his presence rankles the rankle kid that the Steelers chose in the first round.
And can he pick it? And he sent to Philadelphia because, as Mike Tomlin has famously said, he wants volunteers and not hostages. And then Justin Fields comes for the cost of a fifth round pick and two drafts from now and and suddenly the Steelers do something that's kind of out of their character, which is going outside the organization for an offensive coordinator as well and Arthur Smith. But it's still the Tomlin run team and the Rooney owned team and the Steeler Way and Russell Wilson, despite being in pole position, had Justin Fields to contend with or work with or mentor while contending with.
And sure enough, in the summer, it's training camp. Somebody hands Russell Wilson a sled and says, push it. And we're all like, what? And I'm sure Russ might have been like, what? And his calf went like, no, I don't like the mid 30s. He gets hurt. And it's Justin Fields is gay because Russell is not healthy enough to answer the bell, which is the way Tomlin was handing his quarterback situation for the first month, saying don't even bring up Russell Wilson because he's not available. And then all of a sudden, Russell Wilson becomes available.
And then, you know, who's no longer available to start the kid who started foreign to. And all we keep hearing is the plan was to start Russell Wilson all along, and Mike Tomlin says, you know what? I want to check on that plan. And everybody's kind of like, really?
You want to check on that plan? Because Russ was available and flying through Newark Airport for a reason. And we haven't seen Russ Cook in a while. And Sunday Night Football, whole country watching, New York Jets back against the wall with an interim head coach and Devante Adams showing up, connecting on a reunion tour with Aaron Rodgers, who lobbied hard to go get him. And he's there and the Jets are there and the Jets are really good on defense, apparently, allegedly. And here comes Russell Wilson into this situation.
Okay. This is how that season long storyline arc is playing out. And it sure looked like that was a button that Tomlin shouldn't have pushed, as it was not pretty. First quarter, Jets up 7-3. They wind up being up 15-6. And in between, the Steelers fans getting restless.
There was a lot of murmuring and then a lot of boos. And then the defense stepped up, made some plays. Big pick before the end of that first half. And Russ cashed it in. And Russ started making chunk plays. And Russ was finding George Pickens. And Russ was thrown in tight windows that I guess Justin Fields wasn't even attempting or thinking of attempting or wasn't allowed to attempt. And then all of a sudden, Russ was cooking. And the defense was cooking.
And the Steelers fans were waving their towels in a night game in a way that we have not seen in a long time. And Najee Harris is running people over. He had 100 yards. And Pickens had 100 yards. And lo and behold, again the defense helped. But Russell Wilson put up a 30 spot.
Maybe. Before Aaron Rodgers has put up a 30 spot for the Jets. These are facts. And Russ took the Jets out. 276 yards for Rodgers, not enough.
But guess what? Russ had a great night himself. Three touchdowns. Come on now. This is the way it worked out. For Russell Wilson in his first start. For the now 5 and 2.
Rooting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football Pittsburgh Steelers. Yo. Yep. And after the game Russ had this to say. You know I felt like it was playoff baseball I said out there.
You know it's you know in the sense of you know I started off 0 for 2. And but felt like you know I was going to get hot. I kept telling coach hey I'm going to get hot here. And sure enough we did. We did a great job. The guys did a tremendous job up front. Gave me enough time to make throws.
Guys made plays down the field. And everything else. And I think it's just the love of the game you know. I played so many games you know. And you know that every game is different. Every game has its own story.
And every game has different moments in it. And you catch the wave. And once you find it you don't let go. I think the biggest thing is just knowing you know who you are.
Knowing that the belief you have in yourself and knowing that. Also too it was my first time back and I was like okay. I'm starting to feel it again.
Here we go. You know it's just it's been a while. You know it's just been six weeks from really playing. Yeah I mean nobody was talking about Beanie Bishop going into the game either right. But nobody was talking about him or thinking that Russ could account for three touchdowns.
Like back in the day. Two in a year. One on the ground. Running game going. Defense going. And again I was questioning it. And you know if I'm questioning Mike Tomlin.
A lot of people are questioning it. Because boy out there in Western PA. Steeler fans look at me and they think I am out of my mind for saying Tomlin's the man. But I will say this. It's it's worthy of him wanting to spike the football. But of course he would never do that right.
He would never spike the football about making a tough decision and having it work out. This is Mike Tomlin after the game. Was that one of your boldest decisions? To go with three.
That's why I'm well compensated. Thank you. That's how big this moment was. Mike Tomlin spiked the football. That's as much of a spike as a football. For him that's a Gronk spike. Oh yeah. Where he's just like that's why I am well compensated.
And that's the point as well. Because he makes a move like this and it works out. Will it work out in the long run? That's obviously going to be part of the season long story line arc of the Steelers and Russell Wilson there. Next up for them are the Giants. By the way on Monday Night Football, whole country will be watching that one. Do we have to watch the Giants?
Yes you must how dare you. Then there's a bye. Then they're at Washington which is going to be a fascinating game. Then they're home for Baltimore. And that part of the schedule is when rubber meets the road which is why Tomlin wanted to check on Russ now. Against the two New York teams have a bye week. Then obviously a difficult opponent in the NFC East in Washington. But the rest of that schedule it's the entire schedule for them in division. Both Baltimore games, both Cincinnati games, both Cleveland games and the only two teams that they do not face in the division from week 11 on is at Philly and home for Kansas City. So Tomlin wanted to get his quarterback situation in order for that.
And had the temerity and the gumption and the you know what to do it at 4 and 2. And the reason why he does is because he's Mike Tomlin and it's because the Rooney's set it up that way. Now then, the Jets on the other hand do not have a set up like the Pittsburgh Steelers where it is the Steeler way and veteran quarterbacks who are needing them to have another run at it before the end of their career winds up in Canton, Ohio. They have a situation unlike the Steelers where the owner just fired a coach in the middle of the season despite being one game out of first place. And this coach is rewarded in a way that I'm sure Robert Salah is sitting at home going, oh now you get Devante Adams and settle the whole Hassan Redick holdout, now you do that.
Oh jeez, kind of like you didn't want to do it for me. Kind of like you were waiting for me to just slip up one more time. And you've got a quarterback who is running the show and I know Aaron Rodgers hates to hear that. But one moment last night, one moment last night that I saw where it's just like are you running the show or are you not is when Breece Hall looked like he was scoring and he's ruled down right before, right before he creased the goal line. And Rodgers turns to Jeff Albrecht and gives the international symbol of challenge it. Flips his arm up in the air and Jeff Albrecht takes his flag out, dropped it, right?
Did you see that? Couldn't get it out there on the field and finally did. And before the refs saw the flag, I guess, Rodgers picked it up and threw it, by the way, great throw, flung it back right at the head coach. Then called the play and scored the touchdown. And it's just like, OK, but he scored the touchdown.
He did score the touchdown. It's just like, again, who's running the show? And good Lord, do I hope that Rodgers is running its show, running the show correctly. Because right now it doesn't feel that way, even though, again, the interception before the first half that completely flipped the script because the Jets were up trying to go in up by more than two scores, right? It could have been up a ton if they scored right before the first half. Instead, Steelers make a great defensive play. Russ turns it into points and then to start the second half, Garrett Wilson has the ball just hit right off his five.
And it almost led to a pick six. Not Rodgers's fault. So obviously, when he's asked after the game. When he's asked after the game, what now? Well, he's the only one who's going to answer for it because what he's not going to go before the press and Jeff Albrecht, it's just like he's just the interim. I mean, this is the guy you have to go to. Period.
End of story, because he's running the show. Hit it. It's been a rough stretch since we played so good on Thursday night. We've lost each of those four in different ways, but we got to figure it out. Obviously, we added two big time players to the locker room.
One's here, one's coming Monday. So, you know, everything's still right in front of us. We got to somehow keep the belief in the locker room and start a run.
You can't win 10 in a row unless you win the first one. So we got to be very critical of ourselves, each of us individually tomorrow, and then come in with the right attitude all week and go to the win and get a win. How do you get everybody to keep the belief? It seems like a lot of the same mistakes. Stop listening to you guys.
Oh, man. Yeah, that's... I mean, the RALAX, Rogers, that would have been a nice moment right there, but instead the you guys. There's the New York media, you guys, but the New York media doesn't really challenge him in a way that... No. I've never seen the New York media not challenge somebody who's two and five at the quarterback spot. And part of the reason, again, is it's not his fault. Well, it never is. Well, but this time around, again, those picks last night, but then again, you know, it just comes from the top.
It comes from the top. When you bounce your head coach, okay, when you bounce your head coach and then turn to somebody who's never done it before and say, you're now the head coach and then the defense starts folding, you got to wonder, is it because Albrecht can't do it all? Maybe you should have kept the CEO at the top unless, again, we don't know what's going on in that locker room. And I don't believe Rogers pulled a code red on Salah. I just don't. And I know that that sounds like head in the sand. I don't believe that.
I don't. But to make that move and everything is just like a team that's on paper, it looks like one of those dream team teams that just don't have it all clicking, where one minute you see that offensive series that the Jets go down and it was Breece Hall, a lot of Breece Hall. And there was some Allen Lazard and then even Devontae caught one and Garrett Wilson caught one.
It's just like, wow, that's the way it can be. And then it's just never consistent. And then the defense, I mean, the two offensive, the two rookies of the year that they had last night, Pickens lights up sauce for 100. And Wilson has one go off his chest. And then, you know, that's why I said when Devontae Adams came, can he tackle, can he block? Now can he defend on the back end? Because there's a bunch of defensive backs who are banged up there. I guess Hassan Reddick can help there because if you're banged up on the back end, one way to help is just have the front end just put the quarterback on his ass. But it just always seems to be something's off. And who are you going to turn to, the interim head coach? Is he going to be able to do it all?
It just seems like everybody's, everything's thrown in a bag and say, you know, eventually it'll work out. But two and five is a pretty damn difficult spot to be in because if, let's just say the Ravens and the Chiefs win their divisions, right? Which I don't think is a lot to imagine.
Nope, I don't think so either. You know who would be the wildcard teams coming out of those divisions? The Broncos and the Steelers, who have both beaten the Jets. So they're not only going to have to be better, they're going to have to be better than those teams that are already in front of them. And the division, that thing's gone.
And that thing's history. We don't even have the Jets on the board as sniffing it. The Dolphins are only two and four.
That's why they're on the board sniffing it. And they're going to get two a back. Right now the Jets are three and a half out of first place. Seven games in, you know, and the Bills got Amari Cooper scoring a touchdown. And Devontae Adams is sitting there with the thousand yard stare that we saw him have in Vegas. But Rogers is correct in this regard. Keep it in-house and start stacking.
Drakke Maier is next up for them. Yeah, and if Russ did that to the Jets, what's Drake going to do? Okay. Oh, boy.
All right. I mean, same quarterback, I'm sure. Problem is, though, is that they've got Houston coming in on a Thursday night, on Halloween night.
That could be a trick as opposed to a treat. And then a bunch of winnable games that the Jets don't really seem to have so far proven. They're one of those teams that they can win the winnable games with the exception of their lone two wins of the season. But I will say this, Chris, you know, I know you're enjoying whatever troll that is.
That's not a troll. That's a fact. Drake Maier looks really good. Drake Maier is definitely the team that the Jets will face in New England is far better than the team that strolled into their house for the last win that they've had on a short week with a quarterback who isn't as good as Drake Maier and an offensive line that was half there. So the Jets better pack their defense and better actually show up on offense and not make the mistakes. And have hopefully Tyrant Smith go back into the. The days of the Cowboys, I'll tell you what, that whole all in thing, everybody thought Tyrant Smith was walking. I'm just going to call it as I see it. They didn't get the Cowboys, Tyrant Smith, the Jets right now. But again, it's just something's not working.
I don't know what it is. Put the finger on it. And the way I put the finger on it is that one way we saw last night, there's a Rooney way of doing it, a Tomlin way of doing it, and everybody fits into that. And when they're gone, they'll still be a Rooney way of doing it, a Tomlin way of doing it. And the Jets have what way to do it.
I don't know. Let's just throw everything in Rodgers's lap and say, let's make it work out. And one year his Achilles gives four snaps in. And this year, seven games in. Believe it or not, the Jets are currently two games worse this year than they were last year through seven games under Salah and Zach Wilson. The Jets were four and three.
This year, they're two and five with Rodgers and with Salah bounced for whatever reason. Let's take a break when all in on that. So much more to discuss when we come back.
There is a two time defending champ that is alone remaining undefeated team. That's next. This is the Rich Eisen Show.

To mint chocolate chip? Yeah. No. My entire family loves it, but me. Oh, you don't like it either? I mean, I can understand. Let's put it this way.
I like it. There's different tiers of not liking things. Okay.
And there's like, not my cup of tea. Right. Don't like it. Have a problem with people who like it.
That's where I put, say, like pineapple on pizza. Okay. All right. Right?
Sure. Like, what's your problem type not liking that food? That's not where I put mint chocolate chip ice cream. It's just me. It's kind of like not my cup of tea. It's like the least.
Yeah, the least. But I can see it. I mean, I've had it. What is your favorite flavor? I'm a cookie dude. Cookie dude.
I'm with the big ass chunks. And that's for me. That's where I'm at. I'm just like, eh, not for me.
I can get why you like it, but not for me. So the juice bar in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Hello. They have me at hello. They've got the big huge chunks of the chocolate chip cookie dough. It's giant cookie dough. Unbelievable. But the kids have the mint chip there. That's the only place where I put it in the what's the matter with you category.
Because it's called the green monster. Oh, right. Delicious. Perfect.
Then I have a problem. Perfect flavor. It's called the green monster. It's perfect.
I understand about being on brand during Nantucket. It's green monster. Monster.
The whole thing. Right. Yeah. Now I've got a problem. That's a me thing. Understandably.
It's a me thing. Back on the Rich Eisen Show radio network. I'm sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry. Grainger has the right product for you.
Call clickgrainger.com or just stop by. Now the season long storyline arc where following the entire world is following. Truly, the sports world is following. Will we see a three-peat for the first time in the National Football League with the two-time defending Kansas City Chiefs, champion Kansas City Chiefs being 6-0?
I mean. The last time we saw a defending Super Bowl champion be the last remaining undefeated team in an ensuing season, the 2011 Green Bay Packers following up their Super Bowl season, if you remember, going 13-0. They were awesome that year. They went 15-1 and then lost in a divisional round.
To the Giants. And yeah. But that wasn't the one where Coughlin's face froze off, right? That was the 07 in Brett Favre's final game of a Packer career that led to Rodgers who won the championship and then didn't follow it up. And ever since then, it's been like, can he win in the playoffs?
Everybody keeps forgetting the fact that he did win one. Yeah. Long time ago. Last team to be the sole remaining undefeated team in a campaign to actually win the Super Bowl.
Uh-oh. Ever since this time, whoever was the last remaining undefeated team didn't win the Super Bowl. Last time we saw them. So to give you an indication, does this mean they will three-peat? Last time we saw them, 2006 Colts. It's been a while.
It's been a while since the last team to win enough to be the lone remaining undefeated team to win the Super Bowl, 06 Colts. Which means these are all nuggets. Not really informative.
Don't mean anything. Makes us look smarter. More prepared. They're fun.
I mean, it's more prepared. I'm more prepared. I like them. I'm a professional. I find these things out.
Water cooler. Nuggets. And all I'm just saying is this. What are you saying? I'm already hearing the same cheese being put out there.
I'm right here seeing the same cheese being put out there. The Chiefs don't look good. You can get them. But they don't.
Yeah. But they don't look good. But they didn't last, either. And what happened? What happened? What happened?
What happened? You're literally just assuming that's going to happen again? Absolutely. 100%.
I'm going to assume that will happen again. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Not concerned about the way Patrick Mahomes looks. Nope.
Mm-mm. At all? They don't look that good.
They don't look good. You know what you look good at? You know what you look good at?
You look good. When he tried that safety trend to stop him. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
When he got around Fred Warner first. That one? Okay. But that is a thing. That one? That is a thing. That is a thing.
What's a thing? That is a thing where if I get touched, there will be a flag thrown. Everyone is afraid to light him up when he does stuff like that. Exactly. Well, the Fred Warner part was getting out around the edge first. What you're referring to was further down the field.
Yes. Where he's sticking the ball out and kind of tiptoeing on the sideline. Oh, you can't hit me because I'm just going to go to bed and I'm going to get a 15-yard flag. So everyone's afraid to hit him. I don't know.
That's why there's... All I'm saying is to future defenders on that front, there is replay assist now to help you. Like if you hit him there... Yes.
Do not be afraid. Light his ass up. That is... When he does that. Or any quarterback who tries that.
Yeah. Or they just... Replay assist. Replay assist is there if they throw a flag.
They're not faked out. They're afraid to hit him because they know they're going to get flagged. Guess what? I don't think that's what was going through Fred Warner's mind.
No, Fred. That was before. It was the guy's after. Yeah. Okay.
When he was near the first down and then 10, 15 yards after. Fine. Fine. So then you use everything to your advantage. I'm Patrick Mahomes.
You're not. That works. Yes.
It's a credit to him that he doesn't live his entire life that way. 24-7, 365. You should.
Yes. You should. I'm Patrick Mahomes and you're not. You're not.
You literally should do that. We're sitting here saying he's not playing well. This team's 7-0. Guess what? Exactly. They're 6-0.
I'm sorry. 6-0. They're winning the Super Bowl game. He is statistically playing subpar and below average. So is the entire team. Across the rest of the league.
George Karloff, this is playing pretty well. I think the defense is carrying Kansas City right now. Doesn't that worry you then? A seven-game sample, a six-game sample of Patrick Mahomes not playing well I think is a little concerning.
Kareem Hunt, almost three touchdowns. So okay. No Pacheco. No Big Whoop.
Okay. So Juju Smith-Shuster wasn't there after he was there. And then Mecole Hardman is doing it on special teams and offense.
And remember, Mike Williams is going to eventually come in. Peter Worthy made a mistake that had Tom Brady say during the game, like that's one of those rookie mistakes where the quarterback will say, hey bro, you know, I want to hear the trust you. Well, it's another thing too, just as an aside, easily Brady's best game yet. Easily his best game. Oh yeah. He was really good yesterday. I thoroughly loved, because he found the groove of I'm the GOAT, I'm the GOAT, let me dissect what the current GOAT is thinking and doing and putting you in your, in his shoes in a very simplistic manner without sounding completely, I guess what's the word for it, without sounding arrogant.
Yeah. Like I'm not, but trust me, I only know these things because I'm the GOAT, so let me tell you about what this GOAT's thinking. It was really breezy and enjoyable to listen to from Tom Brady that, let me tell you what Mahomes is thinking right now.
Loved it. He said, also, you know, they're not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but all they do is kind of what your, your Belichick Patriots did, Chris, no, they're not. I'm kidding.
Mike. Luck is a part of it though. Luck is a part of it.
No, no, no. But more than anything else, what they are, is they are situationally better than you. They play the down and the distance and the moment, they get in front of the sticks and if they're behind the sticks, they'll make sure that they're getting closer to the sticks, defensively. If you're in trouble, they're going to get you. And yesterday the 49ers just were banged up. They were down, at one point, I think Burkhardt pointed out, they were down to receivers four, five, six, and seven and Kittle and down to running back two, which is another reason why I'm not panicking for you 49er fans. Let's see what you look like when everybody gets out and I know you're, you're one of those folks too.
I'm, I'm less of an alarmist. Let's see what happens. Well, all due respect, your Cowboys coming next week.
That's kind of their tonic. There'll be four and four going on a bye and that's the way I'm kind of, oh, I completely disagree. These 49ers Dallas is going to put them out of their misery next week. I've said this time and time again, and you know, this, they're the hurdle. We can't get over.
No, we can eventually, everyone gets over a hurdle the rest of this week to handle this piece of business right now. My initial reaction is doesn't look great. You're all banged up. Let's get everybody back.
Healthy. Although I might not be coming back anytime soon, it appears. But that said again, the chiefs are better than you.
Snap to snap down to down over the entire game. You come out about thinking like, oh, those are world beaters. Maybe not, but what they are is going to be better than you. They will pick you off Brock Purdy. They will put you down on the ground.
They will beat you up and make it feel inevitable. So yeah, I'm not taking the cheese of this is where you can get them because my homes doesn't look this or Kelsey looks completely different. He's washed.
He's ready to be done until it's third and whatever and he'll grab it and then pirouette in a way that you don't see coming and get the first down and hand it back and go, guess what? I'm on a hit Kelsey. I'm on a hit FX show. I'm I'm I'm I'm dating Taylor Swift. I've got this. I got that. I'm Travis freaking Kelsey. And you're not. How many people do they have on this team? Like I'm me or not, but don't wear it on their sleeve to just any read might be better than you.
And, you know, we need to talk more about spags, deep spec spagnolos better than you. And they keep them and they keep them amazing and they keep them. It's pretty amazing. It sure is. I'm not going to sit here and hate because guys, we are witnessing an era of greatness and I'm, I'm taking it in like I want to 20 years from now be, they will look back and go, I remember when this guy did that because this is unbelievable. Look at the rest of the way to put the schedule up and they sell three to go.
Dude. Next up for them is Vegas. Next up for them is Vegas. And it looks like it's going to be Gardner Minshew again. We threw three picks coming into the game yesterday up, you know, in whose house it definitely wasn't Gardner's house. And then there, this is a fun one.
They're a mess. Baker's coming in on Monday night. That'll be a fun one. Here we go. That'll be fun.
Right. Then they're home for Denver at Buffalo is a good one. That's a good three game stretch. At Carolina. Then they get Vegas again.
And then they get Harbaugh at home at Cleveland, home for Houston at Pittsburgh at Denver. Gents. Well, good little stretch there. Good finishing stretch. There are some challenging games right there. It's going to be fun.
And then it comes for switch flipping time. They are 100% in line for the one seed because they got the Ravens already beaten. Who else is close to him?
Who else is close to him? The Texans now lost their game and a half behind them. If they go into Buffalo and win that game, they put it down the line.
You know, I, I would start, they have to play all three of those teams behind right now through seven weeks, the two time defending champs look to be set up already. And I know there's injuries and we're marathoning and we're not sprinting and this could be part of an overreaction Monday and all that business. But so far, I'm not taking that cheese, gents of they're not looking great.
So they're beatable. Let's go get them. They're not looking great.
That happened last year. They aren't looking great. I've seen the movie.
I've seen the movie. I just think yesterday told me more about the 49ers than it did the champs. Well, that said, I understand you're saying that. And they do not have their team. They do not have their team. They don't even have their place kicker. All they got to do is stay just within hailing distance of Seattle, who they've already beaten, beat them again, win the division, get healthy, be the four seed.
If they're lucky to be the three seed and be that team, you just don't want to face the playoffs. Look, with a full Niner squad, probably, but they didn't have it. So that's great.
They had a full squad and they lost in the Super Bowl to them. So I don't think it matters. Yeah. So there you go.
It's very simplistic, but I understand what you're saying. Let's take a break. Revenge. There was a dish served very cold and met life yesterday. Very cold. There's so much to talk about. We haven't even hit the World Series in the W game five. We have enough time.

You know, they look like just as fresh as they arrived. The number of eagles colored roses. Fantastic.
It was forty seven and nine that the lions beat the cowboys and that's why he gave you nine cowboy flowers and forty seven eagle colored flowers and a man he but and just in case he's put you think he's put that out of his mind. No on jail and Brunson's pod with Josh Hart. Right.
Okay. The subject of the cowboys came up and did you see this? Carl can't quit you, man.
I'm saying that's a T.J. at the Rich Eisen show. I hope he has gotten my friendly eagles gift today. It was a gift. I sent him forty two flowers, forty two roses.
I know it's been a tough day and then I sent him another bouquet with seven flowers. I was like just FYI on the look how the difference between seven and forty two is. That's funny. Wow. That's clever.
That's a good one. Wow. So T.J. shout out. I hope he got the flowers. Oh he got them.
Now listen. I don't care that he's inaccurate on the numbers. He's got the numbers a little.
I just love the fact that the Knicks, his Knicks teammates approve of the troll. Yeah. They're like nice. They're like nice.
Josh Hart I think really. Yeah they're nice. I mean I love the fact I'm becoming internationally known here on the Rich Eisen. I just like the fact that you're you're you're top of mind with Karl-Anthony Towns. You know I can't wait. I can't wait till the Eagles play.
Shout out to T.J. Wow. OK. Oh. That's funny because you know in the text to me he shouted out your soul but on the pod he shouted out your entire being.
Yeah the entire being. Fantastic. I love it. I hate the Eagles. Back here on our radio show I think we got back just in time for our radio audience to hear how you hate the Eagles.
I do. Well guess what? They don't like you.
That's fine. And they don't like the Giants. You know who they like? Saquon Barkley. They like the fact that Saquon's no longer on the Giants and he's on their team. And we've been circling this game since it came out on the schedule and certainly it's one of those rare games that you circle without a schedule being out. Because the minute Saquon went down to turnpike because the Giants let him out the door and we knew these teams not only face each other once but twice.
We were just waiting to say when's he going to be in MetLife and what will happen then. And they come in and the one thing that the Eagles needed more than anything else was to beat up on somebody. That's what they needed because they've been getting beat up locally. The coach has been beaten up locally, verbally jousted and got grief for it in a win.
Normally that sort of behavior is excused when you spray the deodorant of W on it. Nope. Now with Philadelphia. So what they do is they go up the turnpike and they give the ball to Saquon 17 times and he damn near comes up with a 200-yard game and who didn't see that coming? Literally everybody saw it coming. Literally everybody saw it coming is that I'm just surprised it was only 17 times and there was, was it one time that they didn't go tush push? They gave it to him and they're like alright screw it let's just push this thing in the end zone.
They should have just gave it to him every time. I mean they tried, I mean they tried but at some point though they have to win and the best play is the most unstoppable play I've seen in the NFL in the 20 plus years that I've been covering it and then they also go on fourth down up top to AJ Brown that's the good stuff. That was the difference maker in their Super Bowl season a couple years ago against the Chiefs is when they went.
AJ Brown is unstoppable. That's right is when they went up top when Hertz went up top to AJ Brown and this team has a better running back than that NFC championship team. We know it so that's what the Eagles needed more than anything else was to go up to New York with Saquon let him have a day of course but more importantly than anything else beat someone up and Saquon had this to say after the revenge game turned out to be oh so sweet. To be honest I'm so happy this game's over. I don't think I should get besides today any more questions about the Giants but like I always said I'm thankful for the organization the team that drafted me still got nothing but love and respect for all the guys over there but I'm happy to be an Eagle and most importantly we got a win today in the division against the division of Iowa and now it's on to the next one. When did the extra emotions maybe start to build up with it here during the week? I guess probably more within game I probably talked a little more s*** today than I usually do but nah I think I did a really good job of being locked in through the week right now where I'm at mentally just focusing on my preparation focusing on the little things staying consistent is the reason why you know when I go out there and I'm getting booed or whatever you know I didn't remove myself from the moment I'll stay locked in the moment the whole time and I got to continue to do that for the rest of the season. Yeah I mean there were boos you know I don't whatever I mean giant fans whatever they've got to do to get something going right I understand that the Giants fans coming in Saquon said he heard that they were somebody was burning his jersey it's like hey you're burning Saquon's jersey it's just well what it's it's just not realizing the reality of everything right and I know that's but that's like Jerry Seinfeld's old phrase that you don't root for the players you root for the laundry that they're wearing meaning the jersey and whoever's in yours then you root for them and if they say we're not playing for you anymore it's their fault entirely and we all you know just to use the Coach Signetty phrase just google it just google it and that's what made this game even more sweet for the Eagles is because the whole scenario of signing Daniel Jones long term and franchising Saquon not being able to figure out the Saquon Rubik's Cube to sign him long term and then franchise Daniel Jones like Jones is the was the talent that you drafted that you wanted to go year to year with one would think coming off of that playoff performance that he had in Minnesota he was terrific in that game with Saquon and coming off of that you would think that the guy that you should not really trust long term but go year to year on to see if he can continue to prove it would be Daniel Jones not Saquon but the Giants couldn't figure that puzzle out and said we have to keep them both let's franchise Saquon and sign Daniel Jones long term and the franchising Saquon is what started the whole path down the turnpike for him and everyone and then in the game that Saquon returns it turned into such a debacle that the Giants took Daniel Jones out of the game and Daniel Jones had this to say about that after was it frustrating yeah it was frustrating you want to be out there playing with your teammates and and fighting to score points and and move the ball and yeah so I was frustrated yeah but not my decision but yeah frustrating for sure and want to be out there playing so Dables already said he will start Sunday night against the Steelers in front of pardon me Monday night against the Steelers in front of the whole country there so the Eagles take Saquon have them score touchdown 176 yards and wreck the Giants wreck them that's what you want if you're an Eagle fan you wanted to see it go up there mess them up now because they needed it man they needed to go and dominate and feel it and say we're the Eagles and we're who we think we are and next up for them is at Cincinnati before a Sunday nighter that's currently slated to be against Doug Peterson in Jacksonville we'll see if that one stands I want to I want to flex that I want to flex that one at present yeah although the Jaguars got a much-needed W yesterday and then the big one Dallas before Washington on a Thursday night that's what's next for the Eagles but they needed that look at the other scores on the screen I know you know they were all the ones that they won were big all all wins are big but this one this one was one where they could flex it they could feel good about themselves both sides of the ball can feel good about themselves and they could feel good about rewarding the guy who rewarded them by choosing them to leave the Giants for in that division how about that that's the way this season long storyline arcs playing out and as it was arcing we knew there was going to be one stop that we wanted to focus on the most and that's the way say Kwan's return to MetLife played out perfect our number two Damian woody of ESPN will join us Terry McLaurin of the current leaders of the NFC East the Washington commanders who overcame Jayden Daniels getting hurt Marcus Mariota came in and after a couple blips on the radar just absolutely took out Carolina which is unfortunately for the Panthers a theme that's all still to come an 8 4 4 2 0 4 rich number two doll right here on this busy Monday edition of the rich eyes and show that's the way it's playing out crazy week seven love it the flowers look great buddy how's he gonna follow it up you know he will a car in his mind a car car for what send you a car what maybe a courtesy car to take you to some place to troll on you I don't know where it would be a hot wheel I'm just looking at the cowboy schedule like we play the Eagles and in three weeks so that's when we'll find out oh can't wait for that W November 10th that's when whatever you guys got to work out we'll get Carl on the show I imagine I don't think there's much to work out and what do you mean I'm just saying like what the bet is no what's rich mean there's nothing to work out well I mean there's not gonna work anything out between them there's nothing to work out I mean they're kind of entrenched in in their opinion oh yes that's true I'm just meaning like we get Carl on before and then maybe after a little follow-up like well what the cowboys win and then yeah well I'm gonna need those into it dome tickets what are you gonna do back to him to a dome tickets yeah the Knicks come to visit visit the club before brought me I was gonna head to see the T wolves in the Clippers namaste I know well that's what when it clips after not to my right that's the whole point it's not till March on the time we're gonna be multiple regular visits now he's got two he's got two visits to Los Angeles well he's literally here it's the same week it says it's the first week of March they're here to play the Lakers and the Clippers so here's the thing we'll just have to zoom but right now those flowers are really holding up nicely yeah that is 94 against the Eagles bingo all right Phil we're recording now and please put your phone
