I didn't have to drive and and the guy who was like who started the CrowdStrike problem sort of unplugging the entire world's internet from the wall like the guy from airplane back in the 70s was Mike Del Tufo and apparently he's on the run from the law because he's not here today. Yeah the lights are still on right? This is still working. At the end of the day that was my only goal. And I appreciate that. I appreciate everybody's patience while I was taking some personal time off.

We are in training camp season and in training camp season again there's a uh there's a lot going down and then there's a lot of hand wringing about who's not there always. When 49ers camp opens up this week we assume Brandon Iuch will not be there because he said I want out and he wants a new contract and so on and so forth. What about guys that are looking for their contracts but they're kind of holding in? That's the new phrase in the NFL. Holding in. All the guys don't hold out anymore. They'll show up. They'll be there. They want to be there for their teammates but one thing they're not doing is getting out there on the field. They're knocking out on the field and putting their body on the line for the dreaded non-contact contact injury to hit or this tweak in there that tweak in there.

I'm just over here and ride this bike. Was it around this time last year when we saw Joe Burrow rolling out and people started freaking out because it looked like it was an Achilles injury right? Oh yeah.

Real bad. Right? Well that didn't happen for Jordan Love because he wants a new contract. He deserves a new contract and told the Packers this very weekend apparently on Saturday while we were all you know getting ready for the rest of our weekend WNBA All-Star game going down and Team USA getting a scare against South Sudan. Words I never thought I would say.

That's a really good game man. Okay. Shout out to Luell Dang. And so apparently on Saturday Jordan Love's representatives told the Packers he's not going to practice until a deal gets done. Brian Gudekunst has been through all this before this before or through you know dicey moments before or dicey situations or how we might term it in the media world before certainly with these representatives because I do believe they're the same representatives of Aaron Rodgers.

So Brian Gudekunst the general manager of the Green Bay Packers preaching calm today while saying yes his quarterback is not practicing until a deal gets done. Yeah I think so but again you never know. I mean we're working really hard to get that done. I think it's really important for us. At the same time you know the thing that I have confidence in is that we both want the same thing right. We want Jordan here for a long time. Give him that stability for him and it gives us some stability for our group as well. So it's a really good working relationship between Russ and his agents and like I said it's these things are you know they're big deals and it takes a little bit time to get it right for you know for what we need but you know I feel we're close but you know no real timetables as far as how long it's going to take. Well the pressure about getting it done fast is every training camp practice is sacred.

Don't get too many of these during a football season where you're padded up and you're going 11 on 11 and it's hot out and you start you start grinding and um you don't you don't need your backups out there. So that's the one that's the only thing but the guy on the screen radio audience it's Jordan Love on the screen on our Roku channel feed. The guy on the screen is gonna get pizayed. When he steps on on field in Brazil the first Friday of the season the Friday after Labor Day weekend he will be signed sealed and delivered and the number is going to start with a five annually for him. You're gonna say five or six? I don't think it'll be six. He might be pushing for six right now but right now as you know the the top number is 55.

Coming somewhere in between 55 and 60 that's that's probably where he'll land and crazy and it's based on one year's worth of performance. It's just crazy how things work in the NFL right now based on the new collective bargaining agreement. It's not so new anymore it's a decade old where NFL owners were like we are not going to generationally enrich young players who have never played it down a football before we're just not going to do it we're not gonna we're not going to take we're all rookies just because they had a great college career and pay them the most money we've ever paid anybody in the history of our franchise just because the system says that's what the market demands.

Not going to do that. We'll do that for free agents but we're not doing that for for guys who have never played before. So they change the system and where rookies get slotted and you have an option to extend your rookie into a fifth year if need be if they're a first round draft choice and you get to see what they look like for three four years before you make a decision and even then you kind of have to ask yourself in the heart of hearts darkness moment is this right or not and I think a lot of people have couched what the Jaguars did with Trevor Lawrence in that way and they stared into the abyss if there's such a thing there with Trevor Lawrence say we'll give them 55 million we'll give them the absolute tippy top of the market because we believe in him and we're not turning back and we'll make sure that this thing actually doesn't that it ages well enough in the next two years because more and more players are going to get signed for more and we might as well get it done now and we're not going to go through the Kirk Cousins franchise tagging Palooza and here comes a guy who sat multiple years waiting for the decks to clear they finally clear last year and he has what would you say terrific two-thirds of a season yeah Jordan love it wasn't it wasn't house of fire all 17 but it's enough it's enough to see that he's really good and can do what a 21st century quarterback in the middle of our third decade of this century needs to do run and throw and lead I don't know man he went nine and eight but he had 4200 yards and 32 touchdowns right he could he had he had a stretch of 10 weeks in this season where he was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL yeah he ended the year awesome he didn't he threw one interception week 11 on and then aside from the playoff game the worst pass he threw from week 11 on was the last pass he threw in the season it was so uncharacteristic of him because he was he was making those rookie mistakes I would say from like week five six on to 11 I mean I'm nitpicking here yeah yeah he's he's struggled week four all the way to like week 10 I don't think you can find anybody out there that thinks if the Packers give him his 55 56 57 million dollar a year contract they're making a mistake but that is on you know the Packers to surround him with the talent and obviously it'll be on obviously it'll be on Matt Lafleur to keep it going so they're they're probably I don't know what they're they're quibbling about but it's not ready and until it's ready he's not gonna be out there and I kind of don't blame him for that yeah I don't either I mean it puts the pressure on let's just get it done let's just get it done and get going I'm putting up a poll real quick what is it quarterback you'd want for the next five years Jordan Love Tua Trevor Lawrence I'm gonna put Herbert on there because he's in this list of guys that just got paid who haven't won jack you keep saying that what does Herbert one sorry rich did I miss something I know that all right bottom line is this the the Packers don't need Sean Clifford with the ones right now did you just look up the backup is he really the backup Sean Clifford never heard of him where'd he go to college I mean they're they're depth listen man the other than Jordan Love and and you know Josh Jacobs I don't know how many people have heard of too many people on I mean Christian Watson I don't know how many people have heard who's on the Packers offense all their wide receivers are sleeper guys or dudes you're trying to get value on and looking at their ADP it's Dontavian Wicks and J.D. Reid and Romeo Dobbs and do you know where the backup you know AJ Dillon is currently third on the depth chart in the running back position Marshawn Lloyd is there but guess what all those guys that when Rogers was there and he's like they're young and I need I need I need I need my guys or I need the old school guys Jordan Love is their peer and he stepped in last year and he's going to get paid and he will just the question is when and I guess you know you need to have uh your your backup in with the ones in case of emergency but that's not I when when this guy steps out on the turf against the Philadelphia Eagles on the first Friday of the season in Sao Paulo Brazil he will be paid more than Jalen Hurts and he will lead the Green Bay Packers into battle hopefully for the Packers without missing too many of these training camp practices right now though Gudekunst words that I can't believe uh you're saying for many Packers fans but they they have to believe it right now in in Gudekunst and who do you trust because that dude he's done a great job you know you know at this point in time when he pissed off Aaron Rogers he got two MVP seasons out of him and and now Jordan Love has had a transition into elite quarterbackdom and he's about to get paid as such with a bunch of guys that you may sit there and wait for rounds three four and five in your fantasy draft to snap up and they can win you the damn thing just like the Packers can win the whole damn thing this year facts let's take a break Ayton Hutchinson of your Detroit Lions from that division in the NFC North is between the steelers and the ravens yeah freaks me out when i see that from 2000 whoa yeah it was 24 years ago cordell stewart who's in that who's doing i mean it was uh basically i guess drome betterson made a comment that uh tokyo spikes was better than ray lewis leading up to the steelers ravens game and so shannon sharp and ray lewis had some words about it and rich kind of led the uh shannon sharps on the ravens den yes wow that's awesome man when i see that it just full head of hair it feels like a different person but then i asked you i'm like did i do a good highlight read because whenever i see those back um i'm like did i did i did i do a good highlight okay they played twice was it the opener or the nine six game it doesn't even say it just said i have no idea it's a nine six game it's a nine six somebody made a comment about oh so so that it's a highlight with no highlights this was leading up to the game i gotta watch that the trash talk that's awesome man oh man again it feels like a different human being so there was cordell stewart yeah it must because you you i mean your life your career has gone through he had a td to hinds ward dill for 12 of 25 for 152 yards obviously they won so there were no they won the super bowl that year there were no uh there was one touchdown highlights to it yeah i mean like this this story was leading up to the game and you were just introducing the trash talk between the two sides all right so and i saw and i saw i saw the flock of seagulls haircut you had it when i show that to my kids they're just looking i following up you know what i mean that is a storyline to this season that i don't know if a lot of people are really focused on because i think they're i i they're they're talking about the bears right they're talking about what maybe green bay can do right obviously the vikings have gotten something different but every lion fan that i run into every lion fan that i run into and i've run into a lot of them they are all out of their skulls psyched because i do believe they feel like they're finally through it and the it being half a century of getting kicked in in the nards you know we're trying to truly feel like they're through it watching receivers over the last few days i don't know why this kind of just was blanked out of my head right 24 7 at halftime against the niners it was almost like i erased that game out of my memory like the lions were the lions were so close they were there to go into the Super Bowl had they just and i know dan campbell said he believes in his guys and that's why he didn't go for the field goal but he just there were two times chris where a field goal would have ultimately yeah given them the win and yeah and it kind of made me think rich if you believe in your guys wouldn't that also include like your special teams your kicker you believe that they can get the job done and so i understand why lions fans are into it because they were they were very close obviously and they and the the coach is right and and i keep telling everybody i got a little bit of heat based on the feedback i received about putting jamir gibbs number two on my top 10 running back power rankings list that's fine i think that will age himself finally yes i think that will age very well at the end of the day that that's the guy that's going to take a step up and potentially put this team in a different plane even from last year and then of course there's our next guest one of my favorite human beings on planet earth just put him on the screen he just makes me smile see see look at that you know i mean i just smile when i see aden hutchinson how are you aden hutchinson good to see you sir good to be back man that's good i feel like i was just on here and you know i got opt to be on here again and i'm like i gotta take it i feel the same way you know what man i'm just giving you a hug through the zoom screen i don't know if there's such a clean up the house today get myself ready mentally ready and uh my house though okay so your final moments of freedom you're spending here which is even more of an appreciation from me to you um what does go through your mind right now aden when you do land and start thinking about what starts tomorrow for you it's definitely um it's something that i feel like it's always that you know it's like the last day of summer like you're getting ready to go back to school kind of it's like the little anxiety a little bit of nerves but once you get in the flow of things once you get in it you just uh it's just football you know and we get all hyped up i know we got a lot of hype this season but i always have to remind myself at the end of the day that it's it's all about um it's really when i get in that field to one-on-one you know i mean or sometimes it's two guys or three guys but nice uh if you want to get in that field usually it's it's it's one guy and and that that really silences my mind and silences all the ra ra all the hype the hype videos this it's um i don't know i'm very excited for this season but i feel like i feel like uh you know that's that's the kind of a tool that i use kind of uh you know lessen those nerves because i prepared all off season pretty small so what season to prepare walk me through it aiden yeah you know i mean just another year of having a chef another year of um transforming my body um just i'm very i have a very uh strict regiment with working out running um i've been i i meditate every single day it's it's uh i mean stretching and rolling out it's like everything that i do every day is is very much um just to prepare for this season and to prepare for every season this is how it will be every year and i i'm a big believer in consistency and um just i feel like as long as i check off all those boxes of meditating visualizing eating good working out um having good people in my life that's that those things just be in the compound over time and that's what leads to just um success over over a long period of time what are you visualizing brother what are you visualizing i think you know what i'm visualizing i need to hear the words aiden what are you visualizing you know i'm visualizing the the uh the the hanulah blue and and uh the white little uh confetti coming down and doing some snow angels so that's the visualization yeah i mean listen um why not uh right i mean you have to positively visualize and speak things into existence certainly when you have control over a line of scrimmage snap and things of that nature i don't think that i don't think you're jinxing anything by i although i didn't notice you you you didn't use um i guess the first word of a caped super you know hero um and you didn't use what you might eat cereal out of or used to or whatever your chef puts in you know pokey goes in the you know whatever that thing is you know uh i noticed you didn't use those words but why not man right why not i know you know and there's a lot of expectation and pressure but i really do believe this this team can get it done and i mean i've i feel like myself as an individual i've mentally prepared myself to be playing um until february this year you know that's what all my regiments have been my running has been it's all like i'm getting ready to have my body going until february and it's um it's something that's it's a very realistic thing and it's it's something that's not um it's not something that's that's too far out you know i think it's very much within grasp and um yeah we're uh i'm very excited and yeah you know i don't i feel like we've been a lot of guys have been saying super bowl this super bowl that but what what gives me a lot of joy is when just i know when those seconds are ticking down confetti's falling take that deep breath knowing that you did it you know that's that's what i look forward to and then i just look at your schedule aiden hutchinson by the way uh here on the rich eisen show from the detroit lions you start with three or four at home i mean that that's gotta be something that you you feel like you're on you're on a launching pad however your first two teams are the last two teams you did see at home uh in the playoffs and you know the rams and the buccaneers will have a target like you've got a target on your back this year in a way that last year you know obviously uh to use the you know media um sort of narratives here you snuck up on people uh by beating kansas city in a game few thought you could win now the two teams you ended their season last year are coming in to start and i'm wondering how you might mentally approach differently here aiden yeah i mean every year poses different challenges and every team has different chemistries this and that and so it's going to be different obviously but i feel like with our team we have a majority of our guys coming back and defense i feel is really upgraded and so it's you know it's hard to predict i can't really predict every game because every game is so close and it's the nfl it's very hard to win but i like our chances and i love starting at home i i think we have a lot of confidence starting at home it's gonna it's gonna give us a lot of momentum um as we push through to the middle of the season and the end of the season and then what about you know again jordan love i know the the word is that he's not going to get on the practice field for green bay until he signs his contract you got caleb williams now uh in this division um and then sam darnold is potentially going to start for minnesota and if not it's our it's our michigan man and jj mccarthy goff is kind of the og right now of of the uh division but you will be essentially helping spearhead putting the other guys on the turf i'm wondering what your two cents are on caleb williams you're gonna see him thanksgiving aden you know i'm looking you know let me just sidetrack right now i'm looking at my a little my twitter and my ex it's a i e n hutch 97 rich what do we that's that's a what are we doing rich it's a i d a n hutch 97 oh we'll get on that right now i didn't notice that right now um you know i noticed i thought we had a better relationship well we do listen man uh listen uh i'm not gonna throw my first of all would you ever throw your teammates under the bus aden would you ever do that you know what i mean like what if what if what if one of your guys blew an assignment you know what i mean and then i and then i i i show up and i'm like what what's the matter with your teammates i'm not gonna i'm just not gonna do it you know we're michigan men aden first of all our bad number one um i don't know everyone in the world is following this account i don't know in a minute i think maybe your team changed it i think we're gonna it's okay no i don't i think that's an arab situation okay well i cannot i can't find the other no so uh what what do you what do you what do you think of caleb uh williams i'll just try and cover for my my mistakes my team's mistakes caleb williams tell me about him i gotta call you out that's all good no uh i mean the player i mean obviously i hope he's not that great to where we could beat him every year but i think he is a uh i think he's i mean he's just a hell of a player and off or in uh in college and he really carried that usc offense and he was um he was the spark so it's really hard i i can never um i can never really predict players in the nfl too well you know i mean especially quarterbacks just don't know if their mentality and uh if they can mentally handle things and mentally handle like that high processing and so you never really know but i mean for for our um for the lion's sake i hope um you know he plays bad against us every time yeah i wish i mean you're the quarterbacks that you have in front of you um i mean this is the national football league obviously um it's it's always a challenge love um you also have stroud when you see stroud do you say something about the horseshoe at all or uh or the year that you um sort of um helped end uh his michigan stadium career in a certain way adan do you say anything like that when you see cj stroud later this year yeah you know i think i might have to mention um something like that you know i think uh i think you know it's it's always a good reminder um you know he's uh he's obviously doing his thing in the nfl and uh playing at such a high level but i i'll always wear that little that little badge of honor and above um i don't think when he was when he was at ohio state and hopefully um i can give him some crap when um i'm laying well i when i give him a little hug when we play him so you know because do you talk out there are you a talker i'm pretty cool i'm a quiet guy but um you know i think talking i just burn a lot of energy when i talk you know and i get really even more exhausted than ever so i like to keep quiet but once i once i get going and get a little momentum in my game then i get a little chirpy yeah i don't blame you although i did see that scene uh in receiver recently obviously you were on the receiving end of a george kittel pancake moment um in the nfc championship game but you dropped the word proprioception on him aden and honestly out of all the moments that i couldn't have been more proud of you being a michigan man you dropping a word on kiddel that totally confused the iowa hawk i just understand okay just understand when you talk to kettle don't use more than two syllables in a word you know what i mean oh come on just don't do it you know you know i'm rich i'm a kinesiology major man this is this is what i do you know i know i know the the physio i know what's going on in the body i know what's going on up top so i you know i got to uh i gotta just show my uh my intellect you know and um even even in some of my worst times i'll show the intellect and just to help me out a little bit and uh yeah so you know that it kind of that is what it was and of course it resurfaced again and receiver and um you know it's always it's um sometimes stuff happens sometimes stuff happens other people and um yeah it's okay it feeds your fire doesn't it aden that you were that that's the thing that made receiver right uh i don't really you know i really don't feel much towards it i think george you know it was a good ego boost for george i'm glad he got that for himself you know but um at the expense of my own ego but it's okay um it's okay because uh i know we get to play him again and i'm gonna we'll be seeing each other again that's right oh my gosh it's funny rich i was watching it too and i still have the window open when i looked up the meaning of proprioception because i didn't know either aden so i was like okay all right big word alert from the michigan man man we get that all the it's uh i looked it up right here it's your body's ability to sense movement action and location that's what proprioception means president every muscle movement the reason i said it the reason this for the the i said proprioception is because our helmets had locked up and i lost my own spatial awareness in my brain but the word proprioception and it got a little lost in translation i think you know you know what because he didn't understand the word aden that's the only reason i got lost it's not because you mispronounced the word i didn't use it properly are you trying to call iowa people dumb i am not i am not that's what it sounds like i'm just calling kiddel plus smart well george it's one of those things that i i look back on that and it's just you just laugh you know it's funny you know what i mean i said i'm from iowa we don't use big words you know he's making fun of himself it's okay george is our favorite yeah and by the way look at you so chill like that uh help me and this is before i let you go how does the meditation work i try it my wife tries to have me try it and my i can't i can't clear my head man how does it work how do you do this that's that's the game though i feel like that is that's that's the that's the point of meditation is when you can't clear your head you sit there and the the more time that you can sit there and you know those thoughts may resurface again and you just continuing to fight and fight and fight the thoughts i think that is that is meditation you know because you are you are attempting you're trying to quiet the mind and and and relax the body and um yeah i just i feel very much at peace when i do it i feel like it's very restorative especially in um in the environment that i'm in a very stressful high pressure high expectation environment it's something that i can rely on to just uh just kind of restore my energy and get my thoughts back on track and just get kind of block the world out a little bit i love it and the mr proprioception uh i just perceived my perception on saturday after labor day michigan will have i think that's week one i feel like okay so the saturday after labor day well it's their second game of the year michigan's right and i imagine for texas as well texas at the big house because unlike notre dame texas is not afraid to put michigan on the schedule and and that's the saturday of that weekend and the next night it's rams at lions oh that's awesome so it's the sunday night game of week one of the NFL season is in detroit and the national champion wolverines put it all on the line in week two against a team that also they could have what if adenai mitchell if ad mitchell caught one of those 50-50 balls yeah that might have been this might have been a rematch of the national championship game yeah true michigan 28-1 right now to repeat yeah and i'm i'm and i don't think that that is i think a lot of people think michigan is maybe three in the big ten yeah behind ohio state in oregon yeah yeah so ohio state has the second best odds to win the natty four to one oregon eight to one and george's number one george is number one okay i mean you gotta why not i mean that's a team that damn yeah if there was a 12 team playoff last year or five team playoff last year they'd have been in yeah five teams you know what i mean yeah exactly so yeah yeah yeah i'm not surprised about that yeah i have no idea i think college football is going into this playing season certainly when you've got harbaugh back in the division raiders nation all fired up and the chief's having a shot to three p you can kind of get lost in that shuffle
