Many people's first serious relationship didn't start with a kiss. It started with a kickoff, or perhaps it was love at first hike. But unfortunately, many of these football lovers don't live in the same city as their team, which is why Marriott Bonvoy has hotels close to nearly every NFL stadium, bringing fans closer to the teams they love. With over 30 different hotel brands, so if you want to stay closer to your team, check in for game day with Marriott Bonvoy, the official. Sponsor of the NFL.

We'll see you there.

Okay, it's time for the Week Four edition of Overreaction Monday, presented by Marriott Convoi. Check in for game day with Marriott Bonvoy, the official sponsor of the NFL. Rich Eisen alone with Chris Brockman, as always. Yes, sir. We appreciate you taking in this edition of Overreaction Monday as part of your football life.

There is so much going on. I kind of feel I don't know what it is. Year by year, weeks three, four, and five feel that much more intense to me. Because zero and two teams become zero and three, and zero and three teams can become zero and four, or teams that start zero and two can get back to five hundred and save seasons. As many people are viewing, say the Rams or the Patriots today, or the Cowboys today, and it just feels like the stakes get higher every year.

Right around when September turns to October. It's great, yeah, man. Nothing like it.

Okay, so it's time for Overreaction Monday, Week Four. Hit it. That was terrible. That was crap. That was garbage.

This place sucks. Overreaction Mondays. Monday. Christopher, what do you lead?

Okay, so here's the deal. Normally we start with Sunday night football because it's you know it's compelling. It's two huge teams, big matchup. And all due respect, we will get to the Panthers' victory and Bryce Young's performance. And the idea, I imagine, that the Lions' Super Bowl window is closing, which is what is going.

Going to happen every single time the Lions lose a football game for the remainder of 2026.

Well, you know every single Lions loss is an indication that they blew it in the NFC Championship game a few years before.

Well, you know the record of Dan Campbell with Ben Johnson and without Ben Johnson is you know quite and Aaron Glenn also who by the way who by the way after facing Dan Campbell faced Ben Johnson this week. But anyway, I don't mean to interrupt. There was only one performance that I really care about on Sunday, and one that made the loudest statement from someone who took the most criticism, even from you. Even though I know where you're going, of course, of course, for me, and it felt warranted at the time. But Drake May is back, and the Patriots will be leading the AFC East when AJ Brown returns.

Okay. I think Drake May is back. Is absolutely correct. He looked like the kid that played in Buffalo last year in the old stadium and came to the four on a Sunday night when the Bills looked like they were the clear class of that division, and then the Patriots showed up. And showed out and beat the Bills.

And the way that he did it was with his legs, with his arms, and with his brain decision making. He made right decisions for the most part yesterday. He did have problems protecting the ball again. I mean that happened, but. The throws were there, the the the smarts were there, the heart was there, and then suddenly everybody starts making plays around him.

Yep. Romeo Dobbs made a one-handed grab for a touchdown. Oh my gosh! Of course he did. And then you know the one-handed grab that was heard around the world, and certainly in New England, is the one made a catch, and the guy who made the catch sounds like the.

The words that Bills fans were saying, like Afton Chisholm, Afton's right, Afton Chisholm, yeah, like that guy, right, who grabs it one arm, like Keyshawn Booty, yeah, the dearly departed. He looked like Randy Moss, you know, and C.J. Gardner Johnson saying we'll never hear from him again. An elevated player, I guess. Whatever.

Bottom line is he made the play, and then the defense. Got Allen off spots and was making, you know, he was making mistakes and, and so I get that. Will they be leading the AFC East when AJ Brown returns? I guess you're assuming the Bills come here on Monday night on, on a Friday on for Week Five and lose to the Rams. I'm assuming you think that.

Then the Patriots have the the Vegas Raiders in their schedule. Kind of lines up nicely for the Pats coming. I hear you. I think that's an overreaction. Let's see him do it a couple games in a row, just because he did it last.

Last year, all last year, and we haven't seen it this year, and it we see it once, I don't know. And then I was assuming at some point in this overreaction Monday on your list includes the Raiders being real anyway. Nah, not yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Okay, so that's for overreaction money on a Tuesday. But the Raiders coming in next week, I I hope you're not going to sleep on them. No, the Raiders looked great. They're legit.

Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, because they had Mahomes dead to rights with five minutes to go in that game.

Well, the coach take takes points off the board, and then I understand what they did and how and how they, you know. How they shot themselves in a foot? Where they, you know, a fumble after the coach took points down off the board and gave the ball back to Mahomes.

So listen, the playbook for New England is lining up just like last year. One and two start, kind of looked miserable. Don't know what we're doing. Go to Buffalo, get a huge win, right? And now it's like ten straight wins, except that.

You know, last year no one was seeing it coming. No one was expecting anything. It was a new coach, despite being a coach of the year elsewhere. Yeah. And this year the expectations were high.

Your quarterback was coming off of a near MVP season, looking like you know, hot garbage to the point where you think he's a bust. Hot garbage. Ah, I don't know about that. Uh huh.

So half right. May looked like he's back. And then the other part is, it's an overreaction. Lead the AFC. Any bills concerns?

There were bills concerns going into the game about defensively and this and that. Give up a lot of points. And Josh Allen is kind of going to go undefeated. Kind of freestyling. I think one thing that you could say.

Before we move on to your next subject, matter is there is no clear cut best team in the NFL. Even the teams that are undefeated have warts. Whether it's in San Francisco, where they lost Yuzcheck now, like they keep losing people. They're like the, but they're like the the Dark Knight. In you know, Holy Grail, Monty Python, where they keep losing pieces, and they say it's just a flesh wound.

Yeah, so you know, you could keep going on and on about who are undefeated. The Chiefs, at some point, are gonna maybe call Tyree Kill or have him on. I mean, I would imagine they don't. That deal's getting done. That said, the last part is an overreaction.

Bills concerns, of course, but can they? Turn it around after this game. They might do it on Monday night against the Rams. That could be, you know, another 80 plus point over under.

So, what else you got, Chris? Hammer. Let's talk about one of those undefeated teams. The Chiefs are four and O. Man and best free agent signing maybe in the last decade at least.

Kenneth Walker is going to be offensive player of the year and Threatened 2,000 yards rushing. He's on a pace for 22.65. Dude, I do not think this is an overreaction. What a beast! You know, ended that game.

If he keeps doing this, and I can't imagine why he wouldn't, he just keeps getting stronger, and the Chiefs keep getting more committed. And you know, if if he keeps running like this. He he'd get he get MVP votes. I mean they keep winning too. Obviously, no, I know that.

But if they're thirteen and four and he's got two thousand, remarkable. Yeah, we're like sitting here saying Kenneth Walker the third coming to Kansas City. Two questions: Is Andy Reid really going to use him? And you know, is he really going to, or is he just going to keep winging around with Mahomes? And kind of we're wondering why would you spend all that money on a Running back who won MVP of the Super Bowl and not use him?

They're using him, and then the other question is like, if they use him, what will the offense look like? And could it look like to the point where Mahomes will have the first thousand yard rusher at his disposal on his team since Kareem Hunt's rookie season, damn near ten years ago? And the answer is, he almost has a thousand yards now at the bye week.

So yeah, like why would they stop using him? Why would they not continue their offense in the manner in which they're running it, literally and figuratively? And if they do that, they have enough of a of a weaponry, even with Tyquan Thornton going down, and I assume to be replaced, and Rashie Rice will come back from whatever did knock him out of the game in. Vegas. I mean, they're they're they're Kelsey looks as good as he's ever looked, even though he did not have a game in Vegas like he had in the first three weeks of the season.

They're going to be able to keep running the ball because Mahomes and his arm and the passing game must still be respected. Yeah. So this is not in any way, shape, or form an overreaction if he continues to run like this, and. You know, threatens two thousand yards, he will be the offensive player of the year mix, and perhaps win it. And if he gets twenty-two hundred yards, he might not win offensive player of the year because he would get MVP votes, and people will be like, "I am voting for him for MVP," and I'll go elsewhere for OPoY, right?

So this is not an overreaction, man. That's Seattle's decision to let him walk. I wonder if that's going to be the difference in them, maybe you know, having a chance to repeat.

Well, the good news, see how bad their backfield is right now.

Well, I mean, I mean, Emmanuel Wilson scored against the Chargers, as did the guy that they paid instead of Kenneth Walker in Rashid Shahid. Yeah, he scored too.

So as long as they're you know using him. Shaheed, and they're getting some, and they're getting some production out of him. But as of this recording right now, Kenneth Walker is half way to a thousand yards. He's got five five hundred thirty seven. That's crazy.

That is a hundred and twenty six yards better than last year's rushing leader in James Cook, who's second. Who is killing it, by the way? You know, and so Kenneth Walker's halfway to a thousand yards right now. Yeah, he's been awesome, and he's on a buy. Healthy.

He's probably still going to be the leader in rushing yards, right? It's entirely even though missing a whole game because Cook has got again he's got 126 yards to go to catch him while Kenneth is on his bye week. He's going against the Rams. That's a tall order. But Saquon Barkley said, "Look at my film." Sure.

You know, Aaron Donald presumably back. Derek Henry is about 170 yards behind him. Yeah, Jonathan Taylor is about 190 yards behind. Kenneth Walker could be chilling on his bye week and still be leading the league in rushing coming off of it. Wow, that's a fact.

What else? Let's stay in the AFC West because it just keeps getting worse for the Los Angeles Chargers. And if they finish fourth in the West this year, Justin Herbert needs a change of scenery for 2027. Do you see Jim say that was one of the gutsiest performances he's ever seen by a quarterback? I, I, and so he will not stop pumping.

Herbert, full of confidence, and for the Heisman, that's the way he's going. I get it, but everyone in the locker room's got to be like, "Dude, why are we? Why are we still talking like this? We're watching the game. We're watching the film.

He's making so many mistakes. The offense looks so sloppy, and they just can't get out of their own way. It's just they keep charger ing and charger ing, and and now look at the schedule. They could be zero to eight, zero to nine, one and eight. What are we doing?

Well, I, I, I know Jim this week said. He's got to be. We've got to be better, and that was the first time he did not say something about Herbert that wasn't over the top, right? Positive and you know confidence imbuing, which is what his style is. He's not going to change his style, and the question was, is Mike McDaniel going to eat it?

And he, after the game. Jim, you know, said we're all just going to have to get better, and then had to be asked again. Like, wait a minute, does that mean that McDaniel is actually on the hot seat? He goes, no, no, no, no, his job's safe. You know, I, I don't know what the answer is.

The thing is that that's most surprising to me is that Herbert still isn't being protected. It seems. And now again, he did throw some beautiful footballs towards the end of this game when they almost made a game of it anyway, with a chance to to come back and tie it.

So you know for sure, Herbert needs to be better, and this team needs to be better. But I don't think it's Chargers in Los Angeles that's the problem. I don't know, and Jim made the right move. It seemed to me in going to get Mike McDaniel, and the way that he was running his offense in Miami, yeah, you know. But it's not working here.

It's taking some time to have to work. Oh, and four is not what anybody saw coming. But I think this is an overreaction in terms of a change of scene. At what point does this not become an overreaction? Oh, and six.

Oh, and seven. One and nine. Change of scenery. Like, what does that mean?

So, it means someone's going to go to Minnesota, which, by the way, could use him. Because Minnesota, there, Pittsburgh, there are so many teams that could use this guy and probably put him in better situations than he's got right now. Pittsburgh wouldn't be a bad spot for him. That seems to me.

Now are they going to give up? You know, two plus number ones.

Well, they're going to have to five picks to get him. They're going to have to. He is that talented. Of course, everyone's like, oh, he's just you know, hit his head on the ceiling. He can't, he can't win a playoff game.

Up, you know, Justin Herbert is not as good as everybody thinks. And then you put him on the open market, and he will fetch. What a top of the line quarterback in his prime would fetch, and then everyone in Pittsburgh would be like, "We got our guy," and everyone here in Los Angeles be like, "Why the hell do we just do that? For what? Because the ones that you get back, the reset, what?

Like he is definitely, if it's going to work, the guy who will lead it. Whatever needs to be done to fix it. Also, on top of it, who is he throwing to? The weapons that he's throwing to aren't really scaring anybody, and their supposed best one in Ladidi—he's standing on the sideline in his helmet, watching what was going down.

So this is an overreaction. What else? Fun one in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in the rain. Rich, the Jameis experience is full go. The Giants are the team to beat in the NFC East.

The Jameis experience is full. Even Jameis said it, right? He did. You know, hey, this is what we're getting. This is what we're getting.

The Jameis experience is coming. Everybody's talking about the Jameis experience.

Well, it was on full display Sunday. Can you put the Giants' schedule up, please, if you don't mind? He was winging it around, ah, just like the old days, right?

So here's the Giants' schedule at Washington, and I'm assuming we're gonna get. You know, an eighty percent Jaden Daniels there because Mario. Oh, you don't think Zach Galifianakis is starting? It's not Zach Galifianakis. You don't think so?

No, no, it's not. It's not him. It's not the guy from The Hangover. But good one. Thank you.

I like that. I mean, I can't. Matt. I can't pronounce his name.

So Zach Galifianakis is going to have to obviously through. You know, you know, one, one, one fat. You know, Greek touchdown. You know, yeah, in London, yeah, he threw a big fat Greek touchdown, man. The Greek rifle, and then they're home for New Orleans at Houston, which is who knows, like the biggest shrug emoji, like.

Is that the Texans' defense from last year, like the own eaters? Oh my god! Are they are they the one hit wonders? Was that the thing you do of football? Everyone who took the Texans in fantasy like two rounds too early is just like, what the hell?

Yeah. Um, and then at Philadelphia, who knows? Um, team to beat in the NFC East. I don't. Who is scaring you in that division?

Dallas would. Dallas. If Dallas, they can't stop us in this room right now. Dallas lowers the amount of points that they give up by even just ten to fifteen percent, just a haircut, just a trim. You know, like a a little bit of a.

How about like less than that? How about like a cost of living decrease?

Okay. From the Cowboys' defense.

Okay. Because Pickens hasn't even scored yet. I mean, everyone who has him, me, just isn't even scored yet.

So the Jameis experience is a full go. I will buy that because JJ McCarthy, you can't just show up and get thrown out there willingly. One would think, like they, him learning the playbook and getting in it is one thing. You know, just telling Jameis, "Hey, man, we just don't. We just, we just need to see what we have in the kid." In the middle of all this, I don't think is going to happen.

So, Jameis' experience is a full go. I'm still going to put because you know Brian Burns is out. Yeah, I'm still putting the Cowboys in that department after what the Eagles have looked like.

What else you got over there, Christopher?

Okay, I want to go to the NFC North right now, where they've got an undefeated team, the Minnesota Vikings.

However, QB play is going to keep the Vikings from winning that division. I don't think QB play is going to keep the Vikings from winning the division. The QB play might keep the Vikings from winning a playoff game. You know, like the way that you're seeing how the Vikings. Kept the dolphins in it, yeah, and we're basically playing with fire.

And everyone's survivor pool, I imagine. Oh my gosh! That if anybody's still in one after the first three plus crazy ass weeks of of results, right? It's a good way to put it. That that just reeks of win the division, and you're one and done at home.

If that's the way it's going to work, but with Kyler Murray playing like this, and even Wentz before him, they ship McCarthy out of town. That's a 13 win team. You think with that defense, you're going to have to eventually score more than 15 points. Could you imagine if you put and they're going to play real teams? Could you imagine if you could put the Vikings defense with the Lions offense?

Oh Jesus! Right, like that's a 17 and 0 team, Cowboys. Right.

So Justin Jefferson's there, Jordan Addison's there. By the way, Aaron Jones just looks great. I love that guy, man. Looks great.

Okay, you know, with Jordan Mason being out, so there there are pieces and TJ Hawkinson. Hawkinson revitalized, dude. He turned into Brock Bowers times Travis Kelsey. Yeah, but that's because Murray was just checking it down and checking it down, checking, and he might have been taking what the defense gave him. You know, he just and he didn't go broke making that profit.

Yep. Neither did the Vikings on on Sunday.

So just and I guess trickling pockets and scores instead of going down at the one. You know, brother, you look at the Packers, you know, and you look at the Lions right now. They're a mess. And the Bears are the team that you would think would be closest to winning the division if not for the Vikings. I still think they're the team to beat, brother.

The Vikings won there. They already have a road win against their toughest opponent in their back pocket. But that was bogus—like thirty mile an hour winds and a rainstorm—and Caleb goes out. I kind of throw that out. But Chris, when it comes to winning the division, when you look at the tiebreak numbers, nobody in the league office is going to go.

That's bogus. I get it. I'm sorry. I see that week two win the Vikings had in Chicago.

Okay, but we here at the National Football League front office consider that. Bogus.

So guess what, Chicago? You get to win the division. You get a division. I would before that. And Minnesota, despite winning there and having a better record in the division, and ahead, we have a nice.

Thanks for playing. We have a nice parting gift for you. It's called a road playoff game, and it's not. That's not the way it works. Should be.

So at the end of the day, the Vikings have a championship defense and an offense with. Good enough players for somebody who's going to quarterback it. It could be whence by, you know, Halloween if this keeps going. The Vikings should win the division with that defense, one thousand percent. Man, they can shut you out and knock you down, as they did to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

What else? I want to talk about Sunday night and the performance we saw from a quarterback that we all kind of cast it off because he didn't look as good as the guy drafted behind him. Bryce Young leads the NFL in passing yards through four weeks. He has the Panthers leading the NFC South, yes, and he is a top eight quarterback in this league, and he's not eighth. I mean, the way he played Sunday night.

He looked it. He looked it, and I don't know. Then he went to Cleveland, laid an egg, you know. But that I mean, he's not consistent enough yet. But Cleveland now three and one, and you're like, okay, maybe they got something here, a little higher register.

So no, I know that throw that out, but he's dominated maybe three weeks in in the long run. But we, I, I, I can't put him there yet. Sunday night he was, Sunday night he was, and and I will talk about his story as as often as I possibly can, whether it's here or I'm definitely going to talk about it on the flagship show on Monday. Yeah, that I will never forget being in Munich with Kurt Warner and the rest of the NFL Network crew for Panthers Giants. Turned out to be Daniel Jones's last start as a Giant.

It was, and Bryce Young, we had him in our pre-broadcast meeting, after meeting with Dave Canales, and the team didn't really want to still give details as to why Bryce Young was benched earlier in the year. Didn't want to talk about it, nor did Bryce, and we kind of danced around the subject quite a bit. Because whatever caused him to be benched, the page was turned multiple times by that point. Because he was back in the mix, and the way that he got back in the mix wasn't like, okay, you've seen enough watching Andy Dalton. We're gonna have you go back in and see what you've done watching Andy Dalton.

It was Andy Dalton's in a car wreck. We need you, kid, and he was able to absorb even that. And not wear it on his sleeve to the point where it made him bitter. It embittered him, or he brought it on the field. And Canales said he knew that things would turn for his team.

We asked him, like, what are you looking for? What are the signs you're looking for? He said he knew things would turn for his team if their personalities off the field started showing up on the field. Because of the way that they were playing, that they would play with a certain enthusiasm. Yeah, I like that.

And we saw it that day. We saw it that day against the Giants because Young started moving around and started throwing it and started getting some confidence, and we started seeing some people. And his main, you know, target was Leggett. That's not the case anymore. They've gotten him other guys.

Like Chuba Hubbard was just getting signed to a contract.

So they were all growing together, and Canalis, to his credit, has breathed life into that offense. And this quarterback, who has taken that second chance and made the absolute most of it, which is incredible. And I do remember because we had to sort of dance around the subject of his benching, I called it a sabbatical. That's right to Bryce Young, and he looks at me, goes, "Sabbatical." I kind of like that. I like the way you described it.

I'm like, feel free to use it. And what he has done is turn himself into a remarkably dangerous quarterback. That throw he made to Teteroa McMillan on third down with the game on the line, because had he given the ball back to the Lions, then As opposed to when they eventually did give the ball back to the Lions, right? There would have been much more time on the clock for Goff to have matriculated the length of the field than he had.

So that third down turn conversion, he stepped out of the pocket, he moved to his right, and everyone should go watch it again. He it seemed like left the ground, which is what he's got to do at his height and his body to get, I guess, the strength to throw it. Maybe to see and the spot where he put it. In the hands of his offensive rookie of the year, receiver, was one of the best connections we've seen all year, and you got to give it up. You got to give it up.

Got to.

So last night on Sunday night, because we're recording this on Monday, on Sunday night, he did play like a top eight quarterback. I just need to see it more consistently, and he played like a top eight quarterback against the Rams in the playoff game that they lost. He's definitely the quarterback of the future. There, we're not we're not wondering anymore if he's going to get a new contract from Carolina. Like this is this is it.

Yeah. Okay. So he's their guy. Yep. The first round selection, first overall selection in him appears to have been the right one.

After all, okay. Even though C.J. Stroud has made the playoffs two more times than Young, won three and has won three more playoff games than Young has in his pocket right now. Yeah. So, it's it's it's it's a really good thing that we're seeing, but top eight not ready to go there just yet.

You'd buy his stock over Stroud, yes.

Okay, and I am not just saying that because one team's two and two and the other one's zero and four, right? I would absolutely do that because also, if I may, and I understand there are other examples of this to prove me to disprove me, okay. But I just would want always, if I owned an NFL team, yeah, I would want an offensive-minded head coach, because Canales isn't going anywhere, and he and Young are going to be connected at the hip for as long as you know David Tepper decides to keep them there. You know, they've already changed offensive coordinators at D'Amico Ryan's spot. All right, you're and you're gonna, which is why again the the Patriots have the cheat code.

With Vrabel to have Josh McDaniels, no one is as as great as May looks, as great as May has looked, and as great as May may look again this year, as he just did in Week Four, as we established earlier in this show. People are still not going to knock on Josh McDaniels' door and say, "Do you want to be our head coach?" It could happen. I can't say it's never going to happen. Yeah, it doesn't feel like it though. And Kraft is going to pay him as much as he you know he possibly can to keep him.

So, yeah, I I buy that stock also because the guy who's in his head and his headset and his and in his face is the head coach who's not going anywhere in Houston. I have no idea. What else? A couple more before we get to our tweet of the week. Yes.

Let's talk Cowboys. Outside of Gaddy, the Cowboys don't have what it takes to be legit NFC contenders. That's untrue. That's untrue. I'm gonna, I'm going to still sit here and say, in the same way that we give some grace, although not much, to offenses that need to marinate in the first month of the season.

Let's see if the Cowboys are doing that on the defensive side. Let's see. As I said earlier, just a cost of living decrease percentage. As you know, managing maintenance, repair, and operations is never easy. But for the ones who always rise to the challenge, Grainger has your back.

No two football players are exactly alike, and the same is true off the field. That's why State Farm gets to know you so they can help personalize coverage for your life and budget. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. In in the Cowboys' points given up tally would go a long way. They're kicking off Week Five.

On Thursday night against the Bucks team that has a rookie backup starting with no wins, that looks to me like a three and two record. Sure, you put the Cowboys up on the screen; they're at Green Bay. I don't care if Micah Parsons is coming back; that might make them better. It doesn't seem like, but the run game is still not there, and the Packers still have not gotten any rhythm going for four quarters to make me think that. They could put up enough points against Gaddy, right?

Okay, at Philadelphia on a Monday night is going to be on like Donkey Kong, man, so good. And again, the way that things are looking in Philadelphia as of right now, you take a look home for Arizona at Indianapolis. That San Francisco game is going to be great. There are some winnable games on this schedule, Chris, and so. I can't sit here and say they're not going to be legit NFC contenders.

You can't. The amount of points that they are putting up, still, they're giving up a lot. I understand, like Buffalo, I understand that that they they might turn into be the the Cincinnati. Of the last couple of years of 2026, but those Cincinnati teams didn't have Quinnen Williams or Kenny Clark, that's true, or Caleb Downs or my guy Baram, now my guy or Rashawn Gary and now Joy Porter. I mean, there are enough really talented guys on defense.

We just got to get them coordinated right. That's the issue. Let's see what we can do with more time. But remember, I was talking about hey Brian Schottenheimer, let's. Pedal to the metal here.

Let's go. Certainly looked that way. Got Cityland. They were not playing for Brandon Aubrey to split the uprights to tie that game. No, but he missed one.

Not infallible. No, I mean because he was he kept on he kept on kicking it from sixty five seventy yards. Yeah. I'm just saying they went for the score. Because C.D.

Lamb was unstoppable, and they found him. Touchdown. Came out with the win, and now they're turning right around and taking on a winless team at home on a Thursday night. That's an overreaction.

Okay. Christopher, let's finish up strong. Let's finish strong. Let's go to Philadelphia. Rams get a win, much needed.

Get to five hundred.

However, you know, seemed like they were still lucky to win that one. And if you look at how the NFC West is going to shake out, the Rams will be no better than third in their division this year. Um, I, I just, I will disagree. And I understand, you know, you and Cooper and everybody else, and the comment section, and the comment section consider me a passionate Rams fan. They're too damn talented.

They're too damn talented. So are the Niners.

So are the Seahawks. I understand that the Niners are are battling a war of attrition right now, and the Seahawks defense the last two weeks, Marcus Mariota and then Justin Herbert in a game that seemed to be done, were able to put points on the board against this Seahawks defense. That's two weeks in a row. They started out looking like the Seahawks defense that we're used to seeing at home. Second half, not so much.

They might have taken the the gas off the pedal. I don't know. Yeah. And then those two teams that I just mentioned are going to beat the crap out of each other coming up on Sunday in a Week Five game. I cannot wait to see.

San Francisco at Seattle. Yep. The Rams have a tough opponent in their house against the Bills. Aaron Donald is already feeling the effects of showing that he's human. Yeah.

Miles Garrett is yet to play a down since you could say he's yet to play down this year healthy.

Okay. In the United States, Puka Nakua is back. He looked pretty damn good, but always there's something lingering with him. There is always lingering. All I'm saying is that they have not fully constituted.

As we think that they can show up eventually, roster wise, yet in a game this year, and they're still two and two. You like how Stafford looks so far? He doesn't look like last year. Yeah, he doesn't look like last year. But when the chips are down, they made the plays in Philadelphia.

True, and instead of being one and three, you are you are which is two and two coming home to take on a Bills team that has trouble stopping offenses. Andy, they have that, yeah, sir. I mean that Kyron Williams touchdown to put them up was awesome. Kyron's so good. Oh yeah, they've got two good running backs there.

So and then home for Arizona at Vegas, home for the Chargers at Washington at Arizona, they should go on a run here. If they beat Buffalo, they could be going on a significant run. And then a bye week, and if the Packers are still a shadow of themselves as we're used to knowing them, coming off the bye on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, okay, and then how about that Week 13, week after Thanksgiving game, home for Kansas City? Then it's really on. Then then then then, and that's that's what they're doing.

They're marathoning. They're not sprinting because they know what's to come in December. And in January, they want to be in the mix. January healthy, and then obviously playing at home in February and December. If you put that up one more time, if you don't mind the Rams' schedule, you got home for Kansas City at San Francisco, home for Dallas, and then both games against Seattle before visiting Tampa.

Which prior to the season looked like look out. Yeah, that looks to be a U-Haul game where Tampa. Sure, if if they are going to let Todd Bowles go as everybody thinks they're going to. If this record doesn't turn around, that's a much much easier visit to Florida in between the two visits to Seattle. Much, I guess.

What is that? The meat of the sandwich normally, yeah.

So the sandwich becomes the meat with two games of Seattle, and the bread is right there in the middle.

So I will just push back. They've got some winnable games here. And to sit here and say they're going to be third because San Francisco and Seattle play the same schedule for the most part. For the moment, I'll just push back.

Okay, but they are two and a half behind San Francisco, which is a problem for them. Yeah, it's better than being three and a half behind. Agree. What else? Last one before we get to our tweet.

Watching this team play, I know power rankings are coming up in a couple days. I'm curious where you're going to have the Jacksonville Jaguars because when I watch them, I think they're the most complete team in the National Football League. I can't argue with it. I mean, just because they they don't really have outside of Trevor Lawrence a 100 start guy on your fantasy. You know, I know Parker Washington is up there, and I know Tootin is up there.

You know, Brian Thomas Jr. showed right. Yep, Brenton Strange had a nice game. Right, like, but collectively those parts are a wagon. Yep, a wagon, and they went into Cincinnati and snatched it.

And they are, without question, the class of their division. I mean, they're going to repeat as the AFC South winners. I mean, their next two are in London against Philadelphia on NFL Network. I'll be there for the for the pregame and halftime of that one too. And then they welcome in the Texans, two teams that they should just bat around the way that things are going right now.

Yeah. And then after that is a bye week. Home for Indianapolis. That one at Baltimore on a Thursday night is going to be a that's Thursday night, a fun one. That's awesome.

Then they got two against Tennessee with the Giants in between. I mean, there are some winnable games on this schedule. They got they got a double digit win season right there in front of them with health and that coach man. He is just he speaks with his chest, and the rest of the team has absorbed that personality. Yeah, and they are and what he's what Trevor Lawrence.

We're we're not wondering about his potential anymore, are we? That's the first time Trevor's ever beaten Burrow. Really lost him in the national championship game and twice in the pros. Interesting.

So good stuff. Yeah, I mean, I can't argue with this one, right? Yeah, I think we're a few weeks away too. They're in the mix. Yeah, that's the most complete team in the NFL.

We're thinking about them. I don't think that's an overreaction. The one seed. We're we're a few weeks. Finish up with the tweet of the week.

Finish up from tweet of the week. Here we go. Post of the week. Yeah, post of the week. Remember, hit me up on on Twitter for your overreactions, and the best one makes the show every Monday.

This is from John Wilson. B A M E D slash J D. He gave me all of his all of his credentials there. Oh, I thought that that was his ad. No, no, no.

Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Education and a and a and he's a lawyer with a typo. I don't know. I don't know, John. He says the Chargers and Texans will have top five picks in the draft, and neither will win five games this year. Wow.

Wow. I Chargers, I could kind of buy not having five Texans are too good to not have five wins. I don't know what's going on with them. I don't know what's going on. I thought for sure they were going to win yesterday.

I mean, they they've they've got.

Some digging to do. Nico Collins was back too. I know, and Stroud's playing. Stroud played well, three hundred and fifty yards. If you had told me that Stroud would be playing like this and they'd be winless because their defense is having trouble stopping people, I'd be like, "What are you talking about?" Excuse me now.

I just can't sit here in Week Four and throw two teams in the top five dungeon. Right now, I just can't do it. By the way, the rest of this—I don't care how many. I don't care if if he has so many degrees. It's like a frigging eye chart.

The rest of this top five. If if let's just say he's right, right? Chargers, Texans. The rest of the top five is the Dolphins, Miami, Tampa, and oh, Miami and Tampa, Arizona probably. No, no, no.

Arizona. That's surprising. They had a chance to win it at the end. They had a chance to win it in the last second. They're in everything.

Did I not tell you that every game of theirs are going to be entertaining and must see? Right.

They're a great red zone team. Right.

I mean, you know, and the crazy thing is, they they almost won that game with the Giants doing the job on on Trey McBride. Yeah. You know, the Giants defense told Trade McBride what that what the referee told. Oh, look at you. You know, twice, twice.

The Giants' defense did that all day. All day. McBride was probably those like probably Moscone and uh, in in Midnight Run. Everybody's telling me to laugh myself. All right, now.

Ah, this is an overreaction. I just can't do. Who's the fifth team? I know. I was trying.

Oh yeah, Titan. You want to throw the Titan? Titan. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did we just name the top five?

I think that's funny. That's the top five: Houston. But I'm not going to throw them. This is just because the doctor who can also teach English or whatever the hell else he's doing. This is an interesting.

This is the the the post that's come closest to me twitching in that direction. Yeah. Yeah, that's good.

Okay, but I'm just not going to say that. But we did come up with potentially top five in Washington DC. Yeah, and so the question of those top five teams. This would be amazing, by the way. Yeah, the top five teams.

Read out to me one more time. Yeah, yeah.

So who is it? Was Houston and the Chargers, right? And Tennessee, Miami, right? Tennessee and Tampa.

Okay. Yeah. The question would be for Tampa, Houston, and the Chargers. What do they do with a quarterback laden draft? That would make if if you had told me if you Told me that three of the top five in this must-have top pick, if you need a quarterback draft.

Everyone's been stockpiling. If three of the five do not need a quarterback, oh my God, would that be something? And then of course it would be, do you take?

Well, who are? Yeah, who are number one? Did the Chargers take a King's ransom to draft people, or did they take Jeremiah Smith and say you go to work for that's the that's the Justin Herbert antidote? Right.

Right, or Houston. Houston's like, hey, Jim, we'll take a. We're not, we're not going to. Jim won't take a linebacker. Is that we will take a whole host of draft choices in Houston, or do we have a Michigan, Ohio State wide receiver room for the Ohio State quarterback?

Do we hook up Stroud with Smith and Collins, and say we're going to work? With that defense that's already signed to the you know Gills for years, I guess the question there is: Domenico Ryan's making the pick. Man, all right, I I love the food for thought. We talked it. We talked ourselves into it.

Overreaction. Come on, what a great way to finish. All right, we're here all week long, as always, on the Rich Eisen Show for this. For this entire crew, I want to say thank you for taking in Overreaction Monday, presented by Marriott Bonvoy, Rich Eisen Shop dot com for all of your needs. Well, that that might be valuable on the secondary market. Not really. For Chris, I'm Rich. Peace out. This episode is brought to you by State Farm.
