From Thirty for Thirty Podcasts. I ain't everyone! Did you shot me? Did you think how I got shot? Brian Pata, senior defensive lineman from Miami.
Gun down. The key to this case, it's Brian. An hour before he died, he was on the phone arguing with Tabaki. This might be a hit. You want the truth.
They just want a conviction. Being placed under arrest. We had to kill our monsters. Murder at the U. Listen now.
All right, it's time to overreact. to free agency and since that really Began about a week ago. We've had some time to think about overreaction. But that's the way the calendar. Rolls out for the new league year right in the middle of.
Overreaction Monday opportunities for us alongside Chris. I am Rich. It is Overreaction Monday, free agent style. Good to see you over there, brother. Good to see you, man.
Got a nice list.
Well, bet. I bet there's been a lot that has since our last program hit it. Go for it. That was terrible. That was crap.
That was garbage. This place sucks. Overreaction Mondays. Monday. Hi, Christopher.
What do you have? First item up for bids here.
So we spent the whole last week and the previous days leading up to it talking about Max Crosby and the Ravens and the no trade and going back to the Raiders. I want to take this angle of this story. The Ravens trade snafu is going to make Omar Jackson think twice about signing an extension. Um I I I don't think so. I think that's that's an interesting twist.
That's a Why isn't this deal done yet? I don't know. I have no idea. They did do a redo of the cat for him. You know, redo so they could get some cap space, but there is no extension yet.
I don't know. Uh, I I kind of feel like where where would these Opportunities elsewhere crop up that he'd be interested in where At least he knows that they have a shot to win it every single year. You don't think the Ravens you think max out Trey Hendrickson in shows that Um It's it's a It's a not really wanting to By the Ravens. You know what I mean? Where is, we're going to talk about A.J.
Brown in this show. Where is the A.J. Brown for Lamar Jackson? What have they really done to surround him with superstars outside of an aging Derrick Henry?
Well, Zay Flowers was drafted, and he's pretty darn good. He just hasn't really come. He's not a real number one, though. He is for them. That's the problem.
I understand what you're saying. Derrick Henry being added has been a significant upgrade. Derrick Henry cost them some games last year. All right. I would say Derrick Henry's won them more games than cost them.
I wouldn't. I wouldn't sit here and say Lamar is thinking about the exits. Do you think Baltimore is the best chance for Lamar to win a Super Bowl? As opposed to what? As opposed to anywhere else.
I understand that. He could be the one. We talk about who's going to really pull the James Harden and be like, I want to go there. He is the one that could do that. As you know, the I want to go there is always the Rams.
That's the one that when Stafford steps down, that is going to create the James Harden.
Well, we know who's going to go there.
So I think that's next. That's the objective. Listen, I don't know if Burrow is, you can push Sharpie him in here to Los Angeles. Yeah. But you could, if you're looking at anybody that could potentially pull the I want to get out of here, I'm not coming back here, you should trade me type of NBA move.
I don't know if Burrow's going to do it, but he seems to have the. The makeup. Let's put it this way. He definitely seems to have the circumstances around it. Lamar has already asked for a trade once.
I mean, why wouldn't he do it here? I do not think the Ravens trade snafu is making him sit here and think the Ravens don't want to win and I want to get out of here. What I think happened is what I think Rod Woodson and a few others that we had on last week were pointing out. is that um Once the Monday of free agency hit. Once the new league year, you can have a conversation window opened.
And the Ravens lost Tyler Linderbaum. And then they lost Isaiah Likely, and then they lost. Patrick Ricard, just to name three. They lost their punter. They lost a couple of other pieces.
Sure. They were sitting around going.
Well, we're going to need to plug some holes here. And where can we do that?
Well, maybe using our draft choices over the next two years, all of them. And when uh we're looking at these MRIs or the Um The landscape of things from Crosby's MRIs to who we've lost and how we're going to replace them. They got cold feet. I mean, it's just that simple. And they're like, we could just sign Trey Hendrickson.
We could sign him. We don't lose our draft choices. We nix the trade. We'll take a ton of heat for it. We'll take a lot of heat for it.
And um the cost is like, I don't care. About the heat. Certainly if he's got an owner that's saying you're the guy. Run it as you see fit. Don't know if I like that idea.
Don't know if I like that reputation spreading around, but. If you think Crosby is not a long-term answer and Hendrickson is an answer, and you can plug some holes of all the things that we lost right now, and you need that 14th overall pick to start it. Nuke the trade. And I think that's what happened. And I think Lamar knows that.
And I think Lamar sits there and might go, let's see how this year plays out.
Well, could put a pin in this. I think it's an overreaction to start this program. What else you got over there? I want to talk about one of the teams that I think was one of the big winners following free agency, primarily on the defensive side of the ball. Love what the Carolina Panthers did.
They're going to win the South next year. I don't think that's an overreaction at all. They won it last year and they won it eight and nine. You know, they were seemingly getting. Listen, losing Rico Dowdle, I think, is going to leave a little bit of a mark.
Although they probably think we got Chuba Hubbard, we got ourselves uh It paid Chuba like a number one. No, I and I understand that, but uh Chuba sometimes wasn't able to answer the bell, and here comes Rico Dowdle crushing it. Um you know Uh, him going to um Pittsburgh is an interesting under the radar. We're going to talk about Pittsburgh here in a minute. Um, but no, I do like what they did, Jalen Phillips, and obviously Devin Lloyd, yeah, to add to their front seven that's already been.
Um supplemented by some smart moves. Is just going to bolster that defense against an A division that didn't really, well, I guess one, you got Tampa losing. Mike Evans, the Saints. We need to see what they're going to do with Travis Stephen Jr. Um and we'll see what the um uh Atlanta Falcons look like.
I think the Falcons are a team that is going to gain momentum between now and the beginning of the season.
So we're going to talk about them in a minute, too. But I don't think this is an overreaction at all. They were the ones who won it. And they are on an upward swing, that's for sure, from one season to the next to the next. They are building.
They are keeping pounding, to use their phrase. And I do like what they did to add to their front seven. And that should. Get them above 500, at the very least. If they wind up playing um at home as well as they did and to just start playing on the road a little bit better and playing at uh on the road in the same way they did at home.
I don't think this is an overreaction. We'd have to look this up, but has any division had an eight-game Division winner more than the NFC South? The NFC West did back in the day. You remember that? They had a 7-9 one year, right?
Yeah, but before it went to. Yeah, that was when Seattle and the Rams went down to it in the last weekend. Yeah, I remember that. And then Seattle made it, and everyone's like, what the hell are they doing in the playoffs? They don't deserve to have a home game.
And then Beastquake happened. Yeah, yeah. You know? Fun times. These things happen.
I know, right?
Okay, one of the big stories: Kyla Murray ends up in Minnesota. I want to take this twist on that signing. Justin Jefferson is going to remind everyone he's that dude. He's going to win the receiving triple crown next year. That's crazy.
That's a total crazy. Overreaction. He's going to tell everyone: hey, look, you guys, Puka, and all these other young wide receivers. I'm the guy. I'm the best receiver in the NFL.
I understand, but you still need the trigger, man. You think Colin Murray is going to stroll in there and is all of a sudden going to resurrect his career and be the first overall pick that we've yet to see with consistency? You want to lie? Why? Coaching matters.
Coaching matters. I I understand that. I get it. Coaching and and he's kind of Kyra's kind of proven he can play in this league. I know he can, and he has, but not with any level of consistency whatsoever.
As long as he stays healthy, he's been a really good player.
Okay, I need to see it first. Kyler Murray in Minnesota. is in the category of the I need to see it button. Really? Yeah.
You don't? Seriously, Chris. I mean, I think coaching matters. I think Kyler Murray's staying healthy. He's proven himself to be, I mean, I know it's not fantasy, it is not correlated to the NFL, but that guy puts up absolute numbers all over the place.
I know that. Every single level of it is. I get it. But then at times, he just disappears in games. Disappears.
First half, incredible. Second half disappears. Has that always been coaching? Always. I think a new spot, more spot, a little bit more maturity, probably definitely be helpful.
But to turn Justin Jefferson into a triple crown receiver. A triple crown receiver, not just him, because it's going to be him. Uh, we mentioned this on the flagship. I might as well, you know, go down this road one more time here. on Overreaction Monday that they did not.
Acquire Kyler Murray to have him compete and lose that job they are not going to pay him $1.3 million and have nothing but house money on the line. Just to have him as a backup in case J.J. McCarthy does not. Perform well. Last year, They had seen enough of J.J.
McCarthy to get him in here. To say, you've got the first six weeks of this season. Let's see what you can do. And if he performs well enough. And the Vikings look like a team that can go on a nice run, and he can fill the role of Sam Darnold that J.J.
McCarthy, because of his rawness and his inability to stay healthy, was unable to replicate. Then Then he's going to be the starter. He's going to be the guy. And um And so I They could sit here and say it's going to be a competition and then actually have the competition and actually stick with the competition and see it through. A guy who's entering year eight with two Pro Bowl seasons and damn near 90 starts in his career under his belt is going to beat out somebody like J.J.
McCarthy. Because of his rawness. It's just that simple. McCarthy might have nice practices and he might have a nice preseason game, but at the end of the day, a guy that they're paying just $1.3 million to be there to take a flyer on him isn't going to be benched. It's just not.
Just not. You know, in the same way that somebody getting paid a lot of money is going to be played.
Somebody who's not being paid a lot of money here to just see if he has the upside and can be that guy and can be the Sam Darnold again, and then they'll figure out what to do with J.J. McCarthy after all of that and try and make the playoffs. with a team that's ready to do it.
So, but Justin Jefferson, that Murray's going to come in, it's going to be so. Stafford like, in Los Angeles in his first run at it.
So Cooper Cup winds up a triple crown winner and Justin Jefferson is that guy. I I don't see that analogy on my SAT, sir. As you know, managing maintenance, repair, and operations is never easy. Rich, it's happy Stone Cold Day. 316 to you know those to celebrate. And Aaron Rodgers still hasn't decided anything. There's nothing going on at Pittsburgh. And the Steelers are once again making a mistake, waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make up his mind.
Why would that? It wasn't a mistake last year. Was it? No. Really?
Yeah, they made the playoffs. They made the playoffs. Did they play off games? What was their other option? The coach basically last year was trade for Kirk Cousins.
That's what it was. Or draft Jackson Dart and go forward, which is what Rod Woodson said.
Now, that's another thing. And by the way, now they're hindsight, 2020, great to see that. But, you know, he was the second quarterback in that draft last year. And they have an opportunity this year to do it again and take the second quarterback in this draft and run with him. And now you are building something for the future and you have a young quarterback that you can get behind and believe.
We're just, you're right back where you started. You could still. If you wait for Aaron Rodgers. You could still. Well, last year they waited for Rogers because he had some things he needed to get through.
This year, it's different. He went on Pat's show and basically sent up a flare. By saying, I don't have a contract in front of me. I look forward to seeing some details. I know I'm paraphrasing, but that's basically what he said.
Not like I I don't know yet. I've got this, I've got that. I'm going to be cryptic about what the this and that is, and I'm going to sit here and wait for the Steelers, and they're going to have to wait for me. I kind of get a different sense of that this time around. And it wasn't a mistake to go wait for him last year.
It just wasn't. It wasn't. They still won the division. And I don't think anybody that they drafted or had any opportunity to go get in free agency or trade for in the new league year window is going to get them any further than they got. Personally, Mike Tomlin is not there anymore.
That's correct.
So if you run it back with Rogers, how are you building for the future? You're not.
Well, unless Will Howard is the guy, or unless they draft Ty Simpson this time. and see what what's going on there. I mean, they could do that. They could sign Rogers and draft another kid. They could.
I don't think they're gonna. Draft a kid and let him rip. You got a quarterback-friendly head coach now. Tomlin is not there anymore. You've already declared by letting him leave or shadow firing him that you are ready for something else and to build something else for the future.
I understand. Rather be in this mediocrity level that you've been for the last five, six years. Like, what are we doing? I just think. them waiting for Rogers last year wasn't a mistake.
And this year, I think it's just a different scenario.
So I'll just call this an overreaction and press on. What else? A.J. Brown is the hottest name on the trade market right now. Is he on the trade market?
It kind of seems like there's two teams. It seems like it's the Patriots, and I don't know why the Rams keep cropping up here. I think the rumor of that was based on the fact that Devontae Adams was owed a $6 million roster bonus that they've now paid him.
So the fact that Adams is on the team and they've paid him, he's not going anywhere, and A.J. Brown's not coming here. Um but What's your premise?
Sorry, I didn't mean to jump there. There is a second team, and it is the Rams, Rich. And if the Rams trade for A.J. Brown. Yeah.
They'd have the best wide receiver room of all time. But I don't think they would have kept Devontae Adams. Had they acquired Brown. I think that Adams, they had to look around and think. Are we paying this guy this money?
Even though he did have the production last year, he was incredible. I know. He certainly was incredible. Didn't he leave the league in touchdowns? It felt like it.
Well, you were the, you're, you, you, sorry. He led the league in touchdowns. It was a one-yard touchdown. You kept saying that's a good question. All he does is catch one-yard touchdowns.
That's weird.
Well, it doesn't matter if it's a one-yard touchdown or a 99-yard touchdown, as long as it's a touchdown and you're not settling for three points instead, Chris. You're not losing four points in a possession because you can't do that. The Rams still employed running backs, though, last year. I get it. Okay, got it.
I understand that. But yeah, if they were able to have Puka, A.J. Brown, and Devontae Adams in the same wide receiver. Name a better wide receiver room ever. I couldn't.
Ever. You can't. I guess it would be who. Uh the Vikings rolled out there with Randall. Right.
Didn't they have Moss, Carter, and who was their third receiver, though? It wasn't A.J. Brown. No, it wasn't A.J. Brown.
Jake Reed back in the day. That's it. I mean. That's one that just pops in. What about the Oilers, the run and shoot, all those things?
What about the Jets last year? With uh A.J. Brown might. Sure, that would have been the best wide receiver room of all time. What else?
Of all time. I can't imagine another one. We should gloss over this.
Okay.
Well, it didn't happen, and it won't happen.
Well, I mean,. Never say never. But again, if Brown came here, I think it would have been at the expense of Adams staying for whatever reason. I mean, it's fun to think about, right? It didn't happen.
Why are the Rams? Why were they involved in that? Because, again, Adams was going to be paid a $6 million.
So they were trying to offload. They were just trying to swap a one-for-one, basically? Listen, I can't. I haven't spoken to anybody. It's just what I've read and what I've heard.
I haven't spoken to anybody with the Rams, okay? But you just have to sit here and think the way that less need goes about his business with with you know with uh a heart but not leading with it, right? kind of cold and figuring out what you have to do. That there had to have been a split moment of a conversation of like, that's a lot of money. you know, do we do we swap out Adams for a younger A.J.
Brown and have a bit more of a big. That's a big contract. Right. It's a big contract to get, but apples to apples. In year one, it might have been apples to apples if you're saving $6 million here.
I don't know. It didn't happen. I think the Rams were smart to stay put. The question is: why would the Eagles trade A.J. Brown?
Why? Why would that happen? Again, it's the iceberg. We just see the tip. What's underneath the iceberg?
Has he demanded a get out? I don't know what it is. But the Eagles don't have to do it. And if anybody wants to make sure that Eagles feel that they have to, they'd have to come. With a massive hall.
True. Do you think it gets traded? I don't. I don't. I don't either.
I don't. I don't either. Because I mean, the Eagles will then go into the season with their new offensive coordinator with who is their wide receiver room with. Is Devontae Smith a true number one? Were they really going to go into that?
Feels like he's better as a you know because we're assuming we're not getting another receiver back in Philadelphia. Dallas Garter returns. I understand that, but I I assume we'd be getting draft compensation back, not Not a human being that would have to fill the shoes of A.J. Brown as a veteran. Yeah.
I imagine.
Now, Devontae Adams being flipped for him might have been something that the Eagles could have been interested in. I don't know if Adams wanted it. Adams in a pick for a while. If Adams wants to be here, I'd want to stare at the sunset. I would not move either.
I don't want to leave the Rams. Yeah, Matthew Stafford and the Rams. What else? Let's talk more Hall of Fame receivers. Mike Evans going to San Francisco, I think, was the most surprising.
Free agency move. I went higher register, but it certainly felt like it. Outside of Crosby, it was. Yeah, it certainly felt like it. I think he's going to be awesome.
Talk about Devontae Adams. He's going to fill the Devontae Adams type role for San Francisco, and I know there's a lot of mouths to feed, but Mike Evans is going to have more touchdowns than any Bucs receiver next year. I'll call that an overreaction. I will because there's McCaffrey sitting there. There's McCaffrey sitting there.
And um and Evans has had trouble staying healthy for all seventeen. And I think a meka abuka is gonna shine out. I do. I think he's going to show up and shine. I don't disagree that Evans is going to make it.
Niners, a better team. He calls himself the missing piece. They were just missing one piece. Interesting. And he does fill the Devontae Adams role for this team, to use that analogy.
The only question is: who's the puka?
Now that's the issue. Is it Ricky Pearsall, right? I mean, who else is it going to be? Kendrick Bourne left. Everyone's assuming Juwan Jennings is coming back, obviously.
Ayuk is gone, too.
So what are they gonna do? What are we gonna if he comes when he comes back from his Achilles?
So they needed Evans. I mean, that was a big get for them. That was a big get, and let's hope he stays healthy. But I I'll just call the fact that he doesn't seemingly have the ability to state. healthy 'cause the football gods keep messing with this man.
The injury gods keep messing with this man for all 17, and then there's McCaffrey. Inside the five, but So uh I'll I'll say uh I'll call that an overreaction. What else you got over there? Malik Willis was a much coveted free agent quarterback. Goes to Miami.
Kind of a fun move, fun scenario, fun to think about. A lot of potential there. And also, you know, it's been a long time since the Dolphins have won a playoff game, I believe it's 2000. They're one of the longest teams to to be winless in the playoffs. No more.
Malik Willis is going to end the Dolphins long playoff drought this year. This year? This year. This year. This year.
That division Sneaky up for grabs. Patriots have this first place schedule extremely difficult. They're not going to win 14 games. Let's just be honest about it. Maybe 10.
Buffalo, still an unknown, right? We know the Jets are a non-factor. I like where you're going.
So the Dolphins, I think, could be maybe the second playoff team in that division, go on the road somewhere. Maybe they go to Pittsburgh or Baltimore and steal one. I kind of like Miami as a sneaky under-the-radar 2026 team. They're a shrug emoji team. Like, what do they look like?
What does Jeff Hafley's team look like? What is how do they play? Right, what is it going to look like? Bobby Sloick, right? Is the OC?
I just like their how aggressive they were. It's just like. We got the whole yeah Listen, I don't like the way McDaniel got fired.
Okay, I don't like Stephen Ross strolling in in the middle of a player's. Yeah. A player exit meeting with their head coach three days after Black Monday to say, I need the room. You know, I don't like that. But at the end of the day...
They were aggressive to go say, All right, Troy Aikman, we need some sort of guidance here. You've never done this before, but we. We trust your acumen and your head and your heart and your knowledge and help us figure this thing out. and he went ahead and grabbed two guys from the Green Bay Packers system. And um they put their heads together and they're like We're going to take our medicine.
Almost a nine-figure cap hit spread out over two years. And we're not going to let that. also prevent us from going and getting the kid that they had a front row seat to see. in Green Bay.
So I'm kind of talking my way into saying this is not an overreaction. It's a long shot, but it's, you know, it's possible. Because we don't know there they all I do also need to put this in the category of I need to see it. Yeah, I buy it. I'll place this in the same bucket.
I need to see it from outside of Jalen Waddell, who are. Right, because if I say I need to see it from Kyler Murray with Kevin O'Connell as the guy, the button pusher, with Justin Jefferson as his weapon, then I definitely need to see Malik Willis first with a coach who's never done it before at this level. They got maybe a top-five running back. They do. I mean, they got Waddle.
They got some pieces. They got some pieces. They do. So I'll call this an overreaction. Shrug emoji or higher register are the dolphins in 2020?
They're shrug emoji, like that they could be. Higher register is like, I don't really believe it, as you know. Like, yeah, they made some nice moves. No, no. They made some nice moves.
Okay.
Um and and they're smart bets. They're really smart bets. Aikman, Halfley. John Eric Sullivan, Malik Willis. making these moves.
cutting people Resetting the situation, which is smart to do. They got one shot to reset. unless you're the Jets, then they reset every four years, but they also do it with new people.
So um I think it's a smart move. They made a lot of smart moves in Miami. All right, a couple more. Got it. This might be a higher register one then.
The Atlanta Falcons, what are they going to look like next year? Feels like Tua is going to be week one starter, but. Yes. I think he's going to be the starter for all 17. Tua is going to be the starting quarterback all year and Falcons, top 10 offense.
Okay.
Um I I do like what What they they've Put together for Stefansky, okay, bringing in an offensive coach, all right, tailing Raheem Morris. Thanks for four straight wins. They've been at the end of the season level forever. They have been. Quinn, Mike Smith, Raheem.
Right. Long time.
So now they're bringing in Offensive Mind, a two-time coach of the year from. Cleveland. Let me repeat that. A guy who won Coach of the Year twice in. Cleveland.
All right, so um Stefansky has that going for him. And I know Browns fans are all like, yeah, he ruined Cleveland. I don't know whose decision, like, we'll find out one day whose ultimate decision it was to say, you know what, we're going to do we're going to go to Deshaun Watson. We're going to blow up this whole Baker thing. We're going to get Deshaun Watson.
We're going to pay him guaranteed dollars and we're going to reset the market. And we're going to win with Deshaun Watson. And all the off-the-field stuff is not going to be a problem. We'll still do this. We'll still give him this contract, knowing we're going to lose him potentially for a full season.
This is what we're going to do. I don't know. Again, Stefansky. Absolutely had to have some fingerprints on a lot of these Browns moves that we're still scratching our heads over. But him coming in and saying, I'm bringing in my system.
And he, let's just say he was a guy who drafted Dylan Gabriels. Like, I can do something with this kid. Sure. Well, he's. Basically, like if Tua was a Russian nest doll, you could snap him open and place Dylan Gabriel inside of him, right?
So, obviously, he can do stuff with Tua, and I'm sure he likes Penix too. And I think that he can figure out what to do, and them having a top 10 offense is 100%. um in the ether then no doubt about it i mean Kyle Pitts coming off final of his breakout. Finally, Bijan is your number one overall fantasy draft choice for good reason. I believe so.
He is now put himself in the McCaffrey category of what he can do with the football. Drake London is another one. They also. Like I said, have some other nice pieces around the offensive line. They did lose Algier and they did lose Mooney.
Mooney, by the way, nice pickup by the Giants. Agreed. And Algier has been a great back, too.
So I see the top 10 offense, but two is starting all season. I mean. Just slide, buddy. Just slide. We're assuming slide here.
So I will say no to that. We're half overreaction, half Okay.
Okay.
Overreaction to it starts all 17.
Okay.
Not an overreaction that they've got a top 10 offense in the ether here.
So, what else you got over there? Last one? Two more. Two quickies. Two quickies.
Two quickies. I love it. Two quickies. Go for it. AFC South.
Okay.
All right. Jacksonville wins that division. They are meeting their potential finally. Trevor Lawrence, Travis Hunter. Sarah saw Travis Hunter at Disneyland over the weekend.
Oh, nice. I think this is the sneakiest, best division. In the AFC for 2026. All right, well who's else is sneaking? Who's sneaky?
In the division? Yeah. Listen. Titans are sneaky. Titans are going to shock some people.
Oh, I understand that. But the South in both conferences are always going to be labeled the sneakiest. Yeah, but they're not. That's like calling a left-hander in baseball crafty. They're all crafty.
You know what I mean? They're all crafty. Even even like your guy Crochet, who can blow you away. That rhymed. They're all crafty.
No, no, no. Left handers are crafty, and South divisions are sneaky.
South divisions are afterthoughts.
Okay, which makes them sneaky when you want to start thinking about them. I don't think after thoughts in shows like this one and in shows like this one that have a little bit of fun with every other show that's on TV or streaming or on a pod.
Okay.
So I should have taken out Sneaky and just said it's going to be the best division. Yeah. Let's take out Sneaky because South is the choice.
South always sneaky. Yeah, let's take out Sneaky and just call it the best then. In the AFC next year? AFC next year.
South. No. No, just no? No, the West will be 'cause the West will be. Why though?
Why is the West? Almost made the Super Bowl if their quarterback didn't get hurt, with all due respect. They would have lost anyway.
Okay.
Then you got the Chargers. You see, for those who are listening, we just updated the graph, the topic bar because we're nimble like that. Professionals. You got the Chargers who are automatically going to be better because Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt are going to be back, and they're going to draft someone else for that offensive line, and they're going to start hitting people in the mouth. They're in their team name.
They're also going to be faster. They're going to play faster. They're going to be faster. Justin Herbert in the hands of Mike McDaniel is going to be superb, and you and I both know it. Both know it.
They've lost their defensive coordinator. We'll see how that does play out at the end of the day with Jesse Minter gone. All right. And then you've got The Chiefs are 100% not going to repeat last year. You know they will be better.
You know they will be better. Over, under of last year's win total. You're taking the over every time. Yeah, but I'm not going double digits. All right, but enough to make it a much tougher division than it was last year.
I say that. I think the Raiders are going to be better. Maybe I should do this. The South will win more games than the West. Oh.
Now that's That's a hot take. and thus an overreaction. I like it, though, Chris. I like the South. Everyone forgets that you just run high.
Everyone forgets that Houston is one of the game in three straight years. I know. Not a lot of teams can say that. You believe in Daniel Jones getting paid, coming back for the first time. You know, when I was originally coming up with this list, I had Daniel Jones' name written down, and I didn't want to say that that was a bad signing.
I didn't want to say that he's not going to be the guy, so I changed it. No, they hedged their bets. They paid him in the mid-40s for two years. They hedged their bet. They hedged their bet and they were able to keep Alec Pierce.
Nice moves. Nice moves. Certainly for a team that doesn't have a first-round draft choice this year and next. Listen, listen, I want the Titans to do well, too. I think exactly.
They're bald and beautiful. Exactly. And they need to strike a blow for the Brotherhood. Yes. Okay.
I think they have a chance to be this year's commanders or patriots. I hear you. I think they're a team of the game. They made some moves for that defensive line, they kept Calvin Ridley happy. By moving around some money and keeping him in the fold.
And if they take Jeremiah Love at fourth overall, I'm with you. Doesn't sound like it. It's the West. Still. What else you got to finish?
Last one to finish. I thought about this one cruising in this morning as my capper.
Okay.
You know, it's always working. It's tough to repeat. You can't turn it off, can you?
Well, there's a lot of traffic in the market.
Okay, it's coming out. I mean, it gives me some time. It's tough to repeat. In the NFL. It's just in.
Only a couple Seahawks. Seahawks, you missed the playoffs. Is that how you've ever done it? And when you lose a Super Bowl. It's tough to get back.
This is a Patriot. It's a picture of the game. At least three of the final four teams last year will not win a playoff game. Ah. Rams Seahawks Broncos, Patriots.
All right. So the Patriots aren't even going to make the playoffs.
So we'll throw it in. You know, if they do, they're probably one and done. Mm-hmm. I'm preparing for a one and done. To not win a playoff game next year, three.
Mm.
Well, last year's Final Four, let's just try and figure this out. The Chiefs didn't even make it. Didn't even make it.
Okay.
The Eagles didn't win a playoff game. The Eagles didn't win a playoff game. You also didn't make it? The Commanders didn't even make it. Oh, for theirs, three right there.
Right. So it already happened. Mm.
No, the Rams didn't make the final four. No, the Rams. The Rams. The Eagles beating the NFC Championships. The Commanders.
The Commanders. And then the Chiefs beat the Bills. There you go. Who did win a playoff game? Who did?
The Bills. The Bills were the winners. We're the lone representatives. There you go. All right, that's not an overreaction.
Okay, we just talked about this. Yeah. Okay, that's not an overreaction. I mean, it just happened. Can happen again.
Can happen two years in a row. Would you be more shocked if... All four of those teams didn't win a playoff game. Of course, they were good. They're good teams.
Can I finish? Sure. If all four of those teams don't win a playoff game, or we have the exact same Final Four next year, what would shock you more? It's the exact same Final Four.
Okay.
That would shock me. I don't remember the last time we even had that happen. But you would put those four in your top eight. Teams heading into next year. Yeah, I put three of them.
Yeah. Your whole family are Pats fans. You just walked into that one. Seriously, the one team, give me the team that, if you had to name one team that would not make it back to the Final Four. Out of those teams.
Denver plays in what you just said is the hardest division. Right. But they're pretty damn good, dude. But so are the teams in the division. They basically stood back.
They hardly lost. They lost Greenlaw. But I mean, who else did they lose? And they hardly got to the bottom. I know I just talked up the Dolphins, but the Patriots play two cupcakes and Buffalo, who is yet to really get over the hump.
Mm-hmm. Okay.
Good stuff.
Well done, Chris.
Well, we're back. All right, we are back. We are back. Another fun week on the flagship show, The Rich Eisen Show, where we're getting ready for March Madness. We're getting ready.
