That will end.

next week on Monday's show when we come on the air. The Legal tampering, don't call it tampering window for the National Football League free agency frenzy opens up, and it's going to be on like the proverbial Donkey Kong. And we're going to be on the air for three hours taking phone calls and just chopping it up, and the it being non-stop news, it'll be great. Chris Brockman will be back for that. Susie Schuster has been expertly.

In his seat for the last three shows. Good to see you, Suze, for hour three. Jay Felly is in his spot. TJ Jefferson is in his spot. Rick Neuhizel is going to be joining us on the program in less than 20 minutes' time.

Because there may be a rich and eyes and we're Or team players talking about PLL, which is on ESPN Plus tonight, as well as Sunday, as we just. Did with Romar Dennis. Rick Neuheisel, UFL head coach of the Dallas Renegades. The league's partners include ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2, also Fox and FS1. All 43 games are going to be.

Leading up to the championship on ABC, and part of the thing we'll talk about with Rick. is stuff that Brockman loved. And you guys were chopping it up.

Some of the new rules that UFL is putting into place. And this is, you know. No doubt the NFL will be keeping an eye on how it works. A four-point field goal? is going to be instituted From a certain depth for the 2026, 60-plus field goals are worth four points.

The tush push is gone, it's only one foot inbounds, so college rules there. No punts inside the fifty. Too bad. You got to go for it on fourth down unless you're going to kick the field goal. If you're inside the fifty and you're on the plus side of the field you are not allowed to punt.

Um the four point Field goal is never going to happen in the NFL. I mean, don't even try and bring that thing up. You might as well have a lion tamer and a chair and a trapeze out there as far as old school NFL people are concerned. Dane Campbell would try, though. I just think it's crazy because the number of people that can put the I mean, we've seen Brandon Aubrey.

How many Brandon Aubrey 60-yard field goals have been attempted? Right. Look for it. He he he would probably be the king of the four-point play. The grandman ma of football, right?

Remember the Larry Johnson four-point play in Madison Square Garden that caused everyone to explode?

So, anyway, we'll be talking about all of this with Rick Newhausel. There's some phone calls that we can take as well, and we will. But it is a Friday. Uh I've got a first what's more likely before we get to you, Suze, delivering. the uh the what's more likely is that have been Uh, placed in front of you there.

Um What's more likely? The donuts that Susie brings for all of you are for all of us. Or, but. For everyone but me. That would be V V.

What's more likely? The latter in that sense. You would go with that? Yeah. You would go with that.

So there's extras, you're saying? What I'm just saying is that. Are they for everyone or are they for everyone? I don't know, and except for it. It's for everyone.

Except me. Don't touch them. I don't know what you're talking about. You're a grown man. You can do whatever you want.

I know I'm a grown man and I have free will. Do you? I do. I do. Well, if that were the case, you'd march back there and grab a donut.

No, no, no, all I care about is keeping you healthy. I know that. And, you know, I know that. Capture you. Wait till we get to the car.

Capture. Capture. Cat. But the number of times I've passed the doughnuts and I'm like, I wonder what's in there, and I look at them, I'm like, those are pretty good-looking donuts. By the way, those smell so good, too.

Because when they got to the house this morning, they were hot. They were hot, fresh donuts. I had so much bakery stuff sent to the house before 7 a.m. It was crazy. The donuts and bagels were almost as hot as the ball guy who lives there.

The willpower you show by walking by those donuts and not grabbing one. I know. It's amazing.

Well, that's because I think Susie's right behind the corner. That's probably a good reason. I'm not that scary. You say it like I'm like, it's not. I feel like somebody that's horror movie is.

He married her. That's not true. I don't think anyone's thinking that, right? But there's plenty. What's the answer to that?

What's more likely? It's for everyone or for everyone but me? It's for everybody, honey. I'll be right back. Except for you.

Oh, shoot. All right.

So I'll say that's the box.

Okay, very good. I know how many are. What's in the box? What is in the box? I haven't looked at it.

There's no head in the box. Where there's a glazed one. There's one with sprinkles. I saw that. No longer a maple.

Oh, the maple's the best one. That's out. You took it out? Oh, I've been enjoying you here this week. You took out the big maple?

Yep. The big maple. That's a Canadian goalie, right? No, I thought that's Zach Eady. Isn't that what they call him?

Oh, right. Is that what his name is? Canadian Canadian.

Okay, very good. It's time for What's More Likely presented by Pello Windows and Doors. Hitle, please. What? What's more likely?

Never say never, but never. All right, what's more likely? Presented by Pella Windows and Doors, I believe, one vacation in Christopher Brockman. We made that. Is that the part of the hostile work environment?

That on his vacation, I'm like, we need what's more likelies? Is that what it is? A little bit. All right, Suze. Have at it, please.

Go for it. How you doing? Hey, Suzy, how are you? Hey, guys. How you doing?

What's cracking? How are you doing? How are you doing? How are your mama dern? This smells a lot like a Mai Tai right here, guys.

I'm doing so then I'll relate. That guy right there.

Okay, the Ram's making a massive trade this week. Is it more likely, Rich, that the Rams keep the 13th overall pick in the draft or trade it in a package for Max Cross? Oh, boy. Oh boy. Um, I'm going to say it is more likely they keep the 13th overall pick.

That's what I'm saying. They're going to get a really, really good football player on a rookie contract. And I think that I understand that Max is um available now and he's better than a rookie. Certainly if they draft somebody who plays Max's position. But It's going to take more than just this first-round draft choice.

And I know that those picks get effed. Year in and year out, that they've used it only once, their own first-round draft choice. On a pick nine out of the ten drafts, they've traded it. They've only used it once, and it was on Jared Verse, which is, by the way, not a bad choice. They got Verse, they got Fisk, they're on rookie contracts.

If you can get somebody else on a rookie contract and hit on that for the defensive side of the ball, I say you stay put and stay stay stay stand pat. And That's why I don't think they're going to. Go and shoot the moon for Max Crosby. By the way, Chris had written F Them Picks season is back, but I'm on Disney Plus and I'm on my best behavior. And anybody who knows me knows that I have a foul mouth, so I got nervous for that.

Yeah, F Plus.

So. That's where you were saw. He spelled it S-Z-N. S-Z-N. And I was just thinking, like, what does that mean?

Triple banger. I'm like, I looked it up and I was like, oh, God, you are so late. Right. Okay, very good. It was great.

It was a good moment for the kid. Brees was franchised by the Jets in Walker. We talked about him a couple segments ago. It's set to hit the free agency. What's more likely?

Which is the running back you'd rather have in fantasy in 2026, Brees Hall or Kenneth Walker? Oh, he knows the answer to this question. Why would he put me in this position? Because he likes to put you in position.

So, Brees Hall, it's a dig. Brees Hall does it all. Brees Hall is a three-down back. I mean, Zach Charbonnet had 12 touchdowns. He was asked about fantasy.

I mean, Zach's. Zach Charbonnet had 12 touchdowns while Kenneth Walker, the third, had a terrific season in his own right and won Super Bowl MVP. And I'll be honest with you, you know, he made the most of his opportunity. If Zach Sharbony was healthy, do you think? Do you think Kenneth Walker the third would have had all those snaps in the Super Bowl?

You know what I'm saying? Again, I don't mean to congratulate one while denigrating the other.

Okay? I'm not a hater. But Brees Celebrator, Brees Holm is the answer to that question. Although. If Kenneth Walker the third winds up in Kansas City, That would be quite the the development, but I'll still go Brees Hall in this run.

Their stats were really similar last year. Brees had 1,065 yards right. Ken had 1,027.

Now, what about the receiving? Yeah, the receiving is a little bit more it's a it's it's now more lopsided in Brees Hall's favor.

Now, if you look at his receiving yards coming out of the backfield, I would proffer to say that that. that takes care of business uh on the fantasy front. If you got that information over there, yeah, he had 36. This is Brees Hall for 350 and a touchdown. Right.

And what about Kenneth Walker? I bet you need to really scroll down to find him right there. Walker, he had. Hold please. I'm holding.

Receiving. Oh, yeah.

Well, he had 31 catches for 282.

Okay. All right.

You can go high register. Uh what else you got over there, Suze? What's next? All right, well, let's talk about Stefan Diggs. All right, so obviously released by the Patriots this week.

Is it more likely that the Patriots sign Alec Pierce in free agency or trade for A. J. Brown? Um wow. Man, I'll go signing Alec Pierce.

St. Alec Pierce is going to get a 20 million 30 million. I wish I had a GoPro on your look, of your face there. It's a lot of money. It's a lot of money.

It's a lot of money. Yeah. I I I'll go signing Alec Pierce. I'll say that. That's more likely than trading.

It's money. One thing's money, the other is draft capital. And I understand draft capital is a um isn't costful. in terms of Salary cap. But it I think it's viewed uh as as more Um Cherished than the actual money that's out the door.

And I know I'm talking about billionaires spending money and they're as tight-fisted as anybody else. But I just don't, I don't know. I just don't think the Eagles are interested in trading A.J. Brown. They're just not.

Unless he's doing something behind the scenes that we have no idea, they're going to hold on to him. And they're going to have him, and they're going to. He's 28. He's one of the best in the business. Why would you trade that?

That guy. Unless you're worried about something in the locker room. I don't think there's anything in the locker room to worry about. How does that? I'd take him in the Patriots locker.

I know you would. I know you would. And he's more proven out than Alec Pierce, but. Yeah, giving Alec Pierce thirty million bucks a year like he's DK Metcalf.

Now, here's something weird though. Alec Pierce and A.J. Brown both had 1,003 yards receiving last year. A.J. Brown did it on 78 catches.

Alec Pierce only had 46. I know. He was a chunk play guy. He was a deep threat guy. And Brown does more than deep threat.

and he also had a down year.

So Um I think the Eagles don't trade him, and I think the Patriots will give it a shot over the weekend. And if not, they'll. They'll pay Alec Pierce money. What else? With Kyler Murray being set to be released and Aaron Rodgers sing, there's no progressive talks with the Steelers yet about 26.

Who's more likely to be a Week One starting quarterback? Kyler Murray or Aaron Rodgers. I'll go Aaron Rodgers. I'll go Ayn Rogers. They both are.

Again, I'm... It's always dangerous to assume anything with Aaron Rodgers or speak for him. About what I think his mindset is. I think few things piss him off more.

So I tread lightly. He said this. But, you know. As much as he's friends with Pat, He showed up on Pat's show. Because he had a platform.

He was able to say some things he wanted to get off his chest. And so, um and or he was willing to do it now. And him, the way I heard him talk about the contract, makes it sound like, you know, hey. Um You know, don't talk to me about timelines. when there's no contract on the table.

So But at one point he said I think he was can look it up right here because I get the transcripts sent to me. When he talked about his um Getting me Contract sent to him. Um that you You take a look at his statement. And he was basically saying along the lines that he's ready for it and interested in what the conversations will be. He said, quote unquote, there hasn't been any deadline set on me.

There hasn't been any contract floated in front of me for me to say, well, We're giving you to March 8th to make a decision on this contract. There's been nothing to that respect. Interested in what the conversations will be. but there hasn't been any progression when it comes to that. That's a message.

Like, you want a timeline?

Okay. Well, give me something to timeline. The fact that they haven't is kind of mysterious. Yeah. So And Kyler Murray Again, if he's going to have to compete with J.J.

McCarthy, I kind of think he beats JJ out. Because he's Kyler Murray with tons of experience. And Um I don't know. Is it really going to come down to ditching J.J. McCarthy based on how things have gone inside the building and training camp days and one preseason start for each?

That's a slippery slope.

So at this point in time, I'd rather go with Aaron Rodgers as what's more likely. Suze, what else you got over there? All right, with DJ Moore being traded to the Bills on Thursday, we're going to talk receivers now. Who's more likely to have more receiving yards and touchdowns this upcoming season? DJ Moore?

or any bearish receiver, Romadunze or Luther. Good one. He said receiver, right? Not pass catcher. He said receiver.

Because I would, if he was sitting here saying, is Colston Loveland included in this?

So let's say receiver. I mean, your tight end is a receiver, though. No, he is not. He catches the ball. I understand that.

That's why we refer to tight ends as pass catchers. In the same way that you see in a hockey winning streak. We call it an unbeaten streak because there's ties in there, yeah.

So you use it, you use the verbiage there. Whenever you're talking about, oh, the Kansas City Chiefs, you know. Travis Kelsey led them in touchdown receptions. He would be a pass catcher leading the team in touchdown receptions. Not he would lead the wide receiver group.

You understand what I'm saying? I mean, far beyond me.

So, I would then say, DJ Moore, I'm going to believe in the process here. I'm going to say DJ Moore. Has more yards and touchdowns than a Bears receiver next year. Interesting. Uh-huh.

I'm going with Josh Allen. Romado. Even though Caleb just crushed it. Romadunce just heard that. I understand that.

I get it. No disrespect. No disrespect. I'm just going to go with Josh Allen. Although, usually, when you say no disrespect, there's a disrespect.

In this case, I don't think he means that. No, I say with all due respect when I can say something disrespectful.

Okay. Just clarifying. Yeah. So I know later at home. Thank you.

More likely three-win AFC team to at least double that total next season: the Raiders or the Titans? I'll go Titans. Which What? What? It's our year, man.

Come on. I'll give you the floor. Go for it. What do you got? I don't have anything to.

Okay, say he's just hurt, right? No, Cam Ward, year two. Um. They're going to draft a player who's really impactful, whether on the defensive side of the ball or if they get Jeremiah Love. Right?

Robert Sala is going to come in there. I think they win six games. I know I'm going a little high register here. Um but yeah, I'll I'll go I'll go Titans over the Raiders. You got one more?

You got a couple more? What do you got over there? I got one more.

Okay, give us one. One more. I did not know this.

Okay. My boy. All right.

Little NBA now. Ah. Because it says Little NBA now.

Okay. Very Rod Burgundy right there. Little NBA now. That was very anchorman of you right there. Don't read anything on the cards.

All people. You know, that's why I don't read prompter ever, TJ. Suze Burgundy, everybody. That's the great thing about here, Suze. We don't rely on prompters like some shows.

I know, like some shows. The Spurs, Rich, have won nine of ten, and a certain Celtic is back tonight. Oh boy. Oh my heart.

Someone's back. The more likely current number two seed to end up first in their conference, the Spurs or the Celtics. I'll go the Celtics. Yeah. I'll go with the Celtics.

How far I should look this up. Last I checked, the Celtics were four back. How far back are the Spurs right now? Let's check that out. Oh, you got the standings?

Hoskins got the standings. Very good. Put it up there. Celtics are four and a half behind the Pistons, five in the loss. And what are the Spurs?

What do we got on the Western Conference side of things here? They're three back. Mm. I'll just go Celtics because they're just on fire and I don't want to see it. And usually, when things are happening in major sports these days, things I don't want to see happen.

So Also, made that about me. You got to look at the Thunder, right? They got 49 wins, most of the league. Yes, you'd have to count on them to have a fall off a little, and I don't see that happening. I don't know.

And the Pistons, though, haven't been falling off. The Celtics have been just on fire, man. Yeah, I hate them. They have been on fire, and here comes Jason Tatum, expected back tonight. And again, I'm looking to see 10 Minutes here, 15 minutes there, 20 minutes there, and then and then April hits.

He'll do a little bit more and then when the playoffs hit. Who knows? Maybe he'll be back to being number zero. That would be bad for him. He doesn't want to see this happen.

Good lord. What's more likely presented by Pella Windows and Doors? When it comes to your home, Pella Windows and Doors always have the winning game plan. That's why your neighbors trust them. Visit Pella.com.

Slash Eisen. Take a break. Rick Neuhaisel is going to be joining us next. Haven't chatted with Rick in a very long time. That's next.

This is The Rich Eisen Show. The Rich Eisen Show Podcast. UFL is kicking off the 2026 season on the last Friday of this month, March 27. The championship airs on ABC. It has been a long time since we've welcomed in this man on the program.

Ladies and gentlemen, the UFL head coach of the Dallas Renegades, Rick Neuheisel. How are you doing, Rick? Good to see you. I am wonderful, Rich. It was great to see you over the course of the combine.

And I look forward to the Run Rich Run episode. It's wonderful what you're doing for that great charity. Thanks. And I'm going to be running at St. Jude in a few weeks' time.

Then Aaron, the results In quotes on the Saturday of the draft. Also, Suze is here too, Rick.

So she wants to say hello. Go for it, Suze. Hey, Rick, it's been a minute or so. Sue, how you doing? The better three-quarters, I like to say.

The better three quarters. Just trying to hold up the weight of the world here on the Rich Hadson Show. Good to see you. And congrats. Do you have a new family member?

I have a daughter-in-law since the last time we talked. Congratulations. Absolutely. But I'm having a blast coaching again. Great.

And it's great to see you guys. The set looks perfect. Thank you. And your kid, and your kid's coaching. I love it.

Yeah, exactly right. And I love that viral moment when you're. Your son, as the interim coach, won a big, huge football game, and CBS was peeping you on the set, Rick. That's what it's all about. The dad goggles were firmly in place that day.

Yeah, I'm still apologizing to Penn State fans for my lack of neutrality. Switzerland, I was not. Listen, those are 100% easily understood.

So, before we get to a little bit of college football with you and everything else going on, let's talk about some of these new UFL rules that I'm sure the league is keeping an eye on. Um, a four-point field goal, Rick? Really? We're gonna do that?

Well, the idea is the further away you get, the more you're risking great field position for the other team.

So to kind of get the kick to be taken, you want to encourage it for the fourth point. Uh You know, we talk about when you're down in the red zone, going for it on fourth down to keep a touchdown drive alive. Those are four-point plays. Going for it on fourth and goal is a four-point play because you can probably make that field goal 95%, 98% of the time, but to get the touchdown is a four-point play.

Well, now we have a four-point play in actuality. And as you just mentioned, the numbers for Aubrey, I mean, there's a number of kickers. We saw.

So many kickers making 50 plus that made it look like chip shots, and you and I don't have to remember back that long when that was a less than 50-50 proposition. And that's so that world's changed. And I think to get that excitement and those long kicks rather than just at the end of a half. The four-point idea is a good one. Interesting.

Do you think The fact that a four-point game is now a one-score game, right, for just a field goal. And the fact that we do have longer-legged kickers, if you will, and some of them that we see in the NFL come from UFL, actually. Yeah. Aubrey was a UFL guy. No doubt.

Or USFL, whatever the hybrid is.

Now it's the UFL, it's the XFL and USFL. Merge. Um league. That we've seen NFL kickers get born, if you will. You think this might cause more going for it inside?

The 10-yard line than ever before, or the analytics are always going to rule that day. And that it might be tilted now that Hey, if you don't go for it here and you just get three, you could get beat by one by somebody who kicks it from midfield. I haven't thought that far down the road. I just know that there's a lot of decision making going on with the Brendan Aubreys of the world now that, that sixty yard field goal is a makeable deal. it might become more prudent to try it.

When it's a four-point play as opposed to a three-point play, given the analytics of the game. And I think fans love those long kicks. There's a lot of oohs and ahs. It's like a home run, right? You just see something go that long in the air.

It's entertaining. And I think to line up to try it, I think is fun. And imagine the idea of a coach at the end of a game down three, and he's got a 51-yarder, and he tells the quarterback to take on third down 10-yard satisfaction. A sack so that he can get 61 and win the game. Imagine that coach and the kahunas that that would take.

Yes, exactly. And I want to be that coach. I want to be that coach. Yeah, you do, Rick Neuhausel.

So, again, we might see, we were talking about this the other day. Let's just say it is a 51-yard field goal, and you are down by. Three. Right. That you would have, if you know, you've got a kicker, like say Aubrey is, he's a perfect guy to use again because we're talking about this league as well, UFL.

And so A victory formation technically could be A quarterback running back nine yards and taking a knee there. 100%. I predict we'll see that this year. Yeah. And you want to be that guy.

I want that to be me. Yes. I love it. I love it. Are you in favor of the banner?

I really hope the kick goes through. That's right. I really hope that it does. That goes without saying. Are you in favor of the ban of the tush push?

As well. I am. You know, I understand all the work that the Tush Push. all those the architects of that play put into it and why you don't want to give it up. But You can imagine if you get a unique set of guys up front, you just keep doing it, and now we've seen the slow motion cameras and how quickly they're jumping the snap count.

I just think for the aesthetics of the game that it's just a safer answer to let that play go by way of the whales and find other ways to get your one yard. I mean, Josh Allen, when he gets down there, it's almost an indefensible play. And while if you're the Buffalo Bills, you don't want to see that go away. You certainly don't want to see Josh Allen lost to an injury in that kind of play or anybody that's blocking for a Josh Allen or trying to defend him. The thing that I've come around on not wanting the tush push anymore is I think it's just.

you know, unrefable. The official Now, ESPN and Fox and CBS can have this camera angle right down the line: prime video, all the All the partners, you know, Netflix, YouTube, they all have the 4K cameras and they can all see whether somebody's firing out. Um too early or there is a fumble or anything like that. And unless an official gets prone on his or her stomach to get that angle, you just can't see it. I think it's we've got it.

We've got it so good. That I think it's best we just move on. It has a wonderful place in NFL history and football history. But I think fans paying the exorbitant costs that they're paying want to see some a play that took some more imagination than that one. And that's taking nothing away from those who architected this incredible play.

When was the last time you coached a game where one foot inbounds was a catch? Rick. I was at UCLA. I was at UCLA when you know in college. And we've got a number of kids that have great college careers and resumes.

So it doesn't take much for them to remember how.

Okay. Um and you know Rick Neuheisel here on The Rich Eisen Show. Describe for me the player that you're coaching right now and their hopes, their dreams, why they're doing what they're doing with you, for you collectively as a group together. Why why you think they are doing this?

Well, they love football. And it's what I've said about spring football. As a matter of fact, I replaced Bob Stoops here with the Renegades. And I was the one who told Bob three years ago that he would love this. Steve Spurrier and I, who coached in the old Alliance of American Football back in 2019.

Both told him he was gonna have a blast. And Bob was on the practice field yesterday and telling me exactly that. This was the most fun he's ever had because the player in this league. Loves the game in such a way that he's willing to do it and go through all the work to get ready to do it to chase that brass ring of the NFL one more time. And it's the purest form of football left, given what's happened to college football and the pay-for-play ski, because every one of these guys is on a scholarship.

They all make the same amount. There's no, you know, separation between the different positions as to what you earn. And it's for this love of the game, love of the team, love of the locker room, and love of one more chance to see if I might be able to go and prove that I can play on Sundays. And I think we're all, as coaches, thankful for the kind of attitude that we get every day. And, you know, again, I could see some of your players filing in and out behind you there in your locker room.

They knew I was on the Rich Eisen show trying to just get a little glimpse. And by the way. And they knew Susie was in town. That's it, Rick. Let's try it on camera over there.

There you go.

Now they've got what they want. Yeah, no. Hi, guys. You know, so these players, you know what it, you've been around and you know what. A professional football player looks like, an NFL player looks like, and I don't obviously don't want you to name names, but do you see?

NFL players in UFL where you're like, Okay, that that kid Sure. Without question. Without question. And this, you know, I had the experience in the NFL with the Ravens back in 05, 6, and 7. Yes.

And we'd get into these personnel meetings when we're trying to get to our 53-man roster. And numbers 48 through 53 were always a long conversation, and the different things that guys could do, and the more things that guys could do to make themselves more valuable. And it really comes down to the makeup of your team. The condition, for instance, you might need to take an extra tight end because one of your top tight ends has got a arthritic knee, right?

So that all of a sudden, if you're the fourth tight end in that camp, you make it. Whereas if you're the fourth tight end and there's none of that conditions, you're in the UFL. And those are the kind of things that if you can get the film, and a number of guys, they sign what they call. Uh, offer sheets basically where they have committed to going to a training camp next year with an NFL team. That means that they've got to make that NFL team.

In this situation, they're going to get hopefully 10 games and playoffs. There will be two playoff games to get to determine the champion. In this league, you got hopefully 12 games of film for an NFL GM to look at. See you doing special teams, see you doing all the different things, and that film can be your ticket back to the league and maybe get you into the situation where they know they need that fourth tie down. That's amazing.

It really is. It's dream building, man. You know, and I I'm not just saying this because this is on And who better than me to dream build? You're the dream weaver. I'm the dream weaver.

Gary Wright did not live in vain. You could, you could look at you. You could even sing it. You still play your guitar, Rick? You still sing?

I have the guitar. It's safely tucked away into a private location where it cannot be found other than with just me. But no, I am telling you, and I mean this in all sincerity. I know we're trying to publicize the league and get folks to come and watch, but this is really fun. This is really fun.

It's a blast to be around these young men. The worst day is when you have to tell a few of them they didn't make the team because you know how much it means to them. And given what's going on in college football and, you know, Whether or not kids are playing for the love of the game, that's no concern here. Yeah, I mean You're obviously still all over that. Level of football and what you do every single Saturday on the T V side of things.

I just think that, listen, I'm not telling any tales out of school. Will we ever get rules? You know what I mean? I know there are some rules for certain states and certain this, certain that. But that's I have no problem with kids getting theirs.

But the fact that you, as a coach at that level, need to basically re-recruit your entire team every year. Yeah. Like there's gotta be something done.

Well, there's a big group of people meeting at the White House today that are looking forward to maybe setting an agenda. You know, some movers and shakers from the world of television, commissioners, coaches, Sabin, Mac Brown, Urban Meyer are all there.

So hopefully they'll set an agenda to get down the path. Hopefully, a yellow brick road, if you will, to some answers for this. As you said, there's no fault in having players get a piece of the pie, they're deserving of it. We just need now to figure out how to do it. And the problem is the world of college athletics has never ever had somebody looking at it from the top.

From a global atmosphere, it's always people looking at it from a conference level, from a team level, from a university level and such. We never had anybody trying to put it all together as a commissioner would. I'm not sure we're going to get a commissioner, and we understand those who have the power don't want to acquiesce and give it away. We understand that, but somehow, some way, we've got to figure out a place to go where we can agree on a formula that makes sense. Because it's not just college football that we're trying to save, it's the entirety of college athletic departments because football is the breadwinner.

And if we just get to the fortunate souls that are the brands that we all recognize, and we go create what they're considering the super league. Then, what might take place is we're going to see the diminishment of athletic departments that were in those other schools. And that means swimming, and tennis, and gymnastics, and on down the list are going to not have the opportunity to compete. And that would be a travesty given what we all believe is the real mission statement of college athletics. Yeah, and the soul of this is the relationship with the university, and that's what we've got to hang on to.

Yeah, and as you point out, it could be the denigration of Team USA Olympic teams, which use a lot of these programs as feeder systems. And every two years, every four years, we're all excited as Americans watching them compete that that might. Not be the same, but it the problem with doing it from top down, though, Rick, is is um you know and i i'm not Telling any tales out of school, but a school like, say, Michigan or UCLA or Colorado or any place that you've coached. Along with a team that doesn't have the same revenue concerns, the same scheduling concerns, the same, you know. Athletic department concerns.

to put it all under one massive Banner, I I don't think works either. That there does need to be some separation. Yeah. You know, and it just to decide who's in that boat and who isn't, I don't know whose job that would be either.

Well, it's interesting. And what we have right now with the delineation of the Power Four and then the group of now six with the Pac twelve being reenergized with the formation of that conference, We we've got You know, a clear line of demarcation as to where the players are and where the resources are. But we do have an opportunity for those group of six programs to compete with the power four. And like tonight, there's a great story in basketball. Miami of Ohio is trying to complete the first ever.

Perfect season in MAC history, the Mid-American Conference. The Redhawks, if they get it done, are 31-0, and yet there's some question as to whether or not they would qualify for the tournament because the automatic bid would only go to the team that wins the conference tournament. And if they don't, is their 31-0 not good enough? And therein lies some metrics would say that they're not. But this is where I think we have to have some common sense, which might not be so common anymore, and make sure we're looking after the little guy because the little guy is as much a story in college athletics as the big guy.

We, you know, Loyola of Chicago going to the tournament, Appalachian State beaten of Michigan on the first game ever on the Big Ten network. Those are stories that resonate and are part of the lore of college athletics. Yeah, it resonates with me. That's a damn sure. No, no, no, no, no.

No, but no, you make an excellent point. I wish we could have solved college athletics here, me sitting on the Rich Eisen show set and you in the Dallas Renegades locker room, but unfortunately, we've run out of time. And I appreciate your time, Rick. Really? It's been awesome.

It's a treat. And Susie, don't let him boss you around. You run that show, okay? Too late. I don't think anybody thinks.

In any way, shape, or form that I'm in charge. I think America only wants us to see Susie next to you and Elaine next to you on the run-rich run. That would be great. See where Susie would finish in that race. I would love it.

I would love to. I'm going to tell you something. We actually tried that out, and it was humiliating. I think he was faster than I thought. Oh, my.

And I swear to God, I never thought that day would happen. Rick, you're the man. Have a great time, coaching, bro. Thank you. That's Rick Neuheisel.

For instance, Rashawn Gary, apparently. IG posted a farewell to Green Bay and then took it down saying his account's been hacked. He's not being released. He's not going anywhere. That's number one.

Number two, apparently Lamar Jackson went to X and posted the. Denzel Washington Training Day Boom GIF with a smiley emoji. And everybody's going nuts. Yeah, go for it. Go ahead and do it one more time.

Yeah. That's what he has posted. Which is, he knows something about what the Ravens are up to. Is it a new contract for him? Does he mean it personally for him?

Or have they made an acquisition like, say, you know what, they're all thinking? They're in Baltimore right now. We got Max Crosby. That's what they're thinking. Yeah.

Their new head coach. Coming from west to east with a defensive mindset is going to get Max Crosby in his fold. Boom. That's right. For a team that was second to last in sacks, I did my top five teams that should overpay for Max Crosby list to start the week.

The Ravens had 30 sacks last year, only the Jets has 26 sacks. Were worse in the American Football Conference.

So that's one thing there. Could he also be referring to, say, A.J. Brown is now in the mix there? That's also floating around.

Okay. Or none of it. Or he just posted a gift of Denzel and now people are pressing their minds. And he got a new car. He's so excited he's telling his friends, like they do on social media.

I don't know. He got free breakfast, right? It's less than an hour. It's already got a million views on it. Is that right?

Well, it's quick. You just take a week. I took a look at it. That's a view. Boom.

Yeah. Boom. That's a view. You know? Boom!

All right, cool. Sure. I love our drops, our library of drops. There's so many. Ball guy.

Hey, hey, that's another one. That's a new one. That's definitely going to stay. Ken Jennings is my new favorite one, as you know. That's my favorite one.

You haven't heard this, Suze. No, I think she has. Oh, she has. It's my new favorite. Has it dropped yet?

Rich Eisen is right. I like it. What's Eisen? He doesn't like that one. I don't like that one because it's a who.

I'm not an object. Don't objectify me unless you objectify. I mean, come on, the fire alarm. I like Rich Eisen. I find him accessible.

That's your favorite. That is truly. That's great. He gets really excited about it.

Well, I mean, Jerry Seinfeld name-dropping me on Saturday Night Live like that. That's kind of gangsta. You know what my phone did that night? It went boom. Boom.

That's right. But I didn't check it because I was watching a movie with Taylor and she does not like it when she checks the phone, just like mom. Listen, I have no idea what Lamar is referring to at all. If it's any of the above, boom is right. Boom is right.

This is amazing. And we are going to find out on Monday. As soon as we come on the air on Monday, it is on. Free agency is begun in the NFL, and we will be here for you then. This is the Rich Eisen Show signing off on radio.
