You know how I like to come to the show, right, guys? I like to come. I like to come laden with friends. I like to book as best I can. And what I like to do is like to flex.
Cause you guys know me. I like to flex a little bit.
So I reached out to my favorite.
Now, if Shaquille O'Neill hears that, then I'm going to really take it. I called Charles and I said, Come on, Charles, would you do me a favor? Would you come on with me? And good to see you, Charles Barkley. Thank you, babe.
Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. Hey, listen, tell us your kid. I'm doing great. I am doing really well.
I had a great summer. Didn't do anything but play golf all summer.
So I don't do a lot. I try to stay off the airwaves. And it's obviously going to ramp back up in the next week or so. But I try to stay off television, stay in my lane, and play golf every day.
So I had a great summer.
Now, you said tell Shaquille O'Neal what? Let's start something here, please. You guys shouldn't be jealous of me.
Okay. I'm mean, he's not. Just deal with it. I mean, just deal with it. But if he hears that I if I called you a favorite, I mean there's no doubt that my phone's gonna light up right now It's just jealousy.
Hey, listen. Just because you can't reach somebody's level don't mean you can't. Yeah, don't keep striving. Just keep reaching. I just want to know who's skinnier right now, you or Shaquille?
You know, I've had a great summer, Suze. You know, I dedicated this summer to myself. I was, you know, I gained, I got really fat the last few years. When I got my hips, and obviously I had bad eating habits too. You don't get fat just.
from getting new hips. You know, and I I peeked out about um 355. And I joined this company called Road.co, taking this drug called Zepbound about, I can't even remember how long ago it was. I started at 355 and I weighed last week and I was 285. Wow.
Wow. But I took the entire summer just to work out, learn to eat better, and play golf every day.
So my goal weight, which is not a goal, I'm gonna get there, is 270.
Well, like I say, I started at 355. I got about 15 of my fat ass friends on it on Google Found.
So it's good. I take a shot once a week. Like I say, I'm 285 now. I start at 355. I want to get to 270.
But I took the entire summer just to get in shape, to be honest with you, and play golf every day.
So it's been a great summer for me. You know, Jaquille always used to say, You know, I was never fat. I was just big. And I'd say, Well, I was in the locker room with you for three years. I mean, come on and just sing and he would just Well, he was only he was only fat during the summer.
He got in shape during the season. That's true. You could just be on the Beverly Hills diet, which is tequila. It's like basically, you know, coffee in the morning, tequila at night. It's a vegetable.
I'm just saying that it's not always a. Not a bad idea. Yeah, you know, I've never understood the fascination with coffee. I tried coffee three days of my life. You know, I read this article, I think it's about four years ago, where it said coffee was good for you.
So that was like my New Year's resolution. And I drink coffee for three days. Susie, that's the nastiest tasting stuff in the history of civilization. Oh my God, we're going to have to have a fight right now. I can't I can't even the minute I wake up, all I think about is can I get coffee in my body as fast as possible.
I I don't understand that. Like I say, I've only did it three days in my life. And it sucked. I'm not even sure. What it it just tastes, it just tasted nasty.
I'm not even sure what it tastes like. It just tasted disgusting. I tried it for three days and I'm like, you know what? I'd rather be unhealthy than drink this crap every day. Oh, God.
It's like my favorite thing, my favorite thing is a hot steaming cup of coffee. But listen, I could waste the entire interview talking about what we like and we dislike, but I think that, you know, I might hear it from the guys in the audience here. But so I will ask you a couple questions and we'll move on. But then we'll go back to coffee and tequila because really what else matters. Congrats on the Inside the NBA.
Coming back to you guys on ES Band making its debut two nights of season opening NBA action. Wednesday, October 22nd, Thursday, October 23rd, the pregame show airing 6 to 7 Eastern on October 22nd on ESPN and ESPN 2. 6:30 to 7:30 on October 23rd on ESPN, and both post-game shows will begin on ESPN, both nights immediately following these double headers.
So, what do we expect to see here? Great question. We don't know. Um we think everything is gonna be the same to a certain degree. But number one, it's going to be an honor and a privilege to work for ESPN.
You know, I've said this before, I'm not just saying it. They're the greatest sports network in the history of television.
So it's going to be an honor to work for them. I am so glad they picked up our show for the people who are behind the scenes. Because you know, there was hundreds of people, there's still hundreds of people who lost their job, and that's unfortunate. But there was hundreds of people who were going to lose their job because we lost the NBA package.
So I'm so happy for those people at Turner. And thanks to ESPN for picking up our show. We hope and think it's going to be the same, which that sounds good in theory, but. We met with them a couple weeks ago, and they said we're gonna try to keep everything the same as possible.
So that made us feel a lot better.
So I'm really looking forward to it. You know, it's always getting exciting this time of the year, Suze, because the season's starting. We haven't been doing anything since, like, I think the season ended like. June the 10-15 somewhere in there.
So I haven't done anything basketball related. Since then. You get tired of it at that point, but now you're starting to get the juices flowing. There's some incredible storylines this season. Let me tell you something.
I don't care who you have on your show this week while Richard's on spring break. Hey, there's not one single person can come on you on this show this week and tell you who's gonna win the Eastern Conference. Zero. You can bring Einstein on here. You can bring Shakespeare.
You can bring anybody you want on your show. I have zero idea who's gonna win the Eastern Conference. The West Oklahoma City is obviously the team to beat. But Kevin Durant going to Houston is going to be great. Uh w d did Joker finally getting some help.
Uh in Denver. Luca looks like he's in fantastic shape, and LeBron is always awesome. The West is gonna be great, but man. It's going to be, I'll tell you what's crazy about the Eastern Conference. If, and it's a big damn if, it's a big damn if.
If my Philadelphia 76ers could get healthy, they could actually win the Eastern. Mm. But hey, listen, they have a hey. They haven't been healthy in years, years, years. But I'm telling you.
If embedding Paul George would get healthy, They could win the East, but obviously Cleveland and the Knicks are gonna be Good. But they're not overwhelming favorites. Giannis in Milwaukee with Miles Turner now, they're going to be good. The Atlanta Hawks had a great summer.
So man, I can't wait for the to watch the East. The West, like I say, the West gonna have a bunch of top heavy teams. They're gonna be good. Zion looks like he's in great shape. Um But man, the East is gonna be fun to watch.
Now, I don't want to hurt Doc Rivers' feelings here, but what did you make of the honest conversation about possibly wanting to be in a trade to the Knicks? You know, it's interesting how these guys, um. They feel like they're entitled to play for the championship every year. As a great player, you should feel like... I'm a great player.
If I get any help, we're going to win, and you got to give Milwaukee Bucks credit. I wish the person loved me as much as the Bucs love Giannis. I really do. They went out and got him Dane Lillard. They went out and got a Miles Turner.
They have done everything possible to try to make the Bucs win again.
So the notion that he don't feel like they're doing everything in their power, they have done everything. Seriously, I want a person to love me as much as the Bucs love Giannis. I mean, they did. They went out and got damed. They went out and got Miles Turner.
They've done everything possible.
So It's unfortunate that he feels like he's entitled to win a championship every year. Everybody wants to win a championship. But the Bucks have done everything they possibly could. It's disheartened for me to hear him. Thinking, like, if we don't win the championship this year, I want to be out of here.
I hate hearing that. You have to wonder. With that situation, what the Bucks would do then. I mean, how they would rebuild if they were to move him out, because he He is one of the greatest players of his generation.
Well, when you trade a great player like that, you're going to go to the bottom of the pile. That's just the bottom line. I think that I don't think they'll own a draft pick for like the next five or six years. Same thing with my Phoenix Sons. We're going to have to go back to the back of the line because we traded all our assets for Kevin Durant, and that obviously was a complete failure.
So um I hope he stays in Milwaukee. Because he's a great player and he's a great kid, too. Great kid. Great kid. I love everything about Giannis.
He plays hard every night. But I just find it fascinating when these guys feel like. I'm entitled to win a championship every day. Or, you know what, I want to move. I know, I know, but at the same time, you can see the allure to him of playing in New York City.
All right, the Lakers are down the street from this studio. I'm curious, have you ever sat out an entire pre-season with a nerve irritation in your glute. You know, for the lamest at home, that means your ass hurts too. You know, you might have some dummies out there who don't know what glute means. Um listen, uh I have no problem with a guy.
Being that old, sitting out, he's not gonna gain anything in the preseason. LeBron has paid his dues way beyond what he's done for the NBA. And the Lakers, they just got to stay healthy for the playoffs. It doesn't matter what they accomplish during the regular season or anything like that. You know, there's only every year in no depending on the sport.
There's only a few teams that have to win the championship or their seasons are bust. The Lakers are on that list. And LeBron at his age, you got to hope he can stay healthy because it's a long season. It's a real long season.
So I just think that it's no big deal. But the Lakers, you know, they are going to be interesting. We don't know what's going to happen. But it's going to be fun watching. That's the beauty of sports.
You get to sit back and watch in real time. If I was J.J. Reddick, I would literally bubble wrap him and basically like have like. An army escort to and from. Like, why would you even want to see him on the court?
You know exactly what he's going to do. Luke is basically working out 27 hours a day. I think what he's doing makes a lot of sense. I mean, like, right? Am I, I'm not wrong here.
No, you're 100% right. LeBron, what is he going to accomplish playing 20 minutes in the preseason? First of all, half the guys he plays against ain't going to be in the league and. In a week and a half, they're going to be working somewhere.
So, no, there's no need to play. Uh at his age. I think the preseason is great for young guys. Because this probably, when you're a young guy, that's probably some of the best players you're ever going to play against. Even if they don't make the NBA, still going to be some of the best players you ever play against.
There's a lot of good players that's not gonna make it, but So just play your young guys. And the number one thing with the Lakers. They gotta find a way to develop their bench. We know what Luca LeBron's gonna do. I tell you, God, the key is going to be DeAndre Aiden.
Because and he's got to play well because he's a free agent. He ran his way out of Phoenix and Portland because he wasn't happy. But You know, guys like him who are going to be a free agent, he's got to play well. If he can't play well with Luca and LeBron, He can't play. I mean, if you can't play well with those two guys, that's a big guy, but you're going to get all you got to do is run the floor.
You're going to get. Layups and dunks are allyoops on the other end.
So it's a great situation, but he's gonna have to play. At a high level, because he's gonna do a uh, he's gonna play good defense behind those guys because LeBron's not a great defender anymore, and Lucas' never been a great defender, and he's going to make up for their rebounding because the Lakers always put a small team out there. Charles Barkley, joining us here on The Rich Eisen Show. I'm Susie Schuster and for Rich Eisen here on ESPN Radio, presented by Progressive Insurance. Charles, who is the team that we're not talking about that strikes your curiosity?
Wow, that's a really good question. I think the wild card is. Probably Toronto. I like Toronto. I think Toronto is going to surprise some people in the East because there's no dominant team in the East.
I mean, I'm looking at Tatum going to be out. Pretty much all year. If he even come back. He won't be the same. Uh Halliburton's probably gonna sit out for the whole year.
Um I think Toronto could be a sleeper in the East. And in the West, I think all eyes have to go down to Zion, man, because when that kid is in shape, He's special, but he's always hurt.
So you can't bank on it. But As I said to you earlier. Don't sleep on my Philadelphia 76ers. I I listen. And it's a big if.
I mean Joel has been hurt every year basically. Paul George is getting older and he's starting to break down. But I'm telling you, if the 76ers could get healthy. You got an MVP. And obviously, in a B, you got an all-star player in Paul George.
Maxi is an all-star. Uh, the kid from Duke is a hell of a player, McLean. The kid VJ, they just drafted this year. I like him a lot. The Sixers could be the sleeper team in the East, I'm telling you.
All right, you heard it here first on the Rich Eisen Show. That said, you said the very famous word, the important word, if. If because God knows we've seen Paul George struggle through so many seasons and same with Joelle, but It's a tough one. That's a very big if. Let me ask you a question about the WNBA.
What do you foresee happening between the team or sorry, the league and its commissioner? Because, boy, these are dark times for a league that is seeing unprecedented audiences coming to it. Yeah, they need to be very careful. They're walking on thin ice right now, Susie. Number one, I wish those ladies luck.
I want them to get paid as much as possible. I wish them nothing but the best. But let me tell you something. I had Michael Jordan, Lara Bird. Uh Magic Johnson.
I've had some of the greatest players ever, and we went on strike. Listen. You got to be careful of trying to figure out your. I know they're doing some great things, but you have to be, you can't overplay your hand. Um Like I say, I want those ladies to make as much money as possible.
And I don't. I don't want to be one of those fools get on TV and say, I don't know their financial workings. I don't know how all their stuff is working. But I will tell you this. As a league that had Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and a hundred great players.
I think we went on strike three times.
So this notion just cause you got power And talent. These billionaire owners just gonna give you everything you want. That's not gonna happen. That's not going to happen.
So, I wish those ladies great success. I hope they get paid what they deserve. But You can overplay your hand. like i say in the nba we're like no we're not gonna go on strike They need us. Then I know what I, you know what I was doing, Sue?
Sitting my black ass at home, unemployed. These guys, like, I remember sitting in those meetings, they're like, no, they're not going to strike. They're not, no, we too important. Blah blah blah. When the season started, I was sitting home playing damn tiddlywinks.
And I want to tell the women, like I say, I wish they get as much money as possible. I wish them nothing but the best, but you have to really be careful over playing your hand. Because Listen, one thing about People who make money, they're never gonna be billionaires. Billionaires always have the upper hand on millionaires, okay? No matter how many millions you got, you're not a billionaire.
So, you always have to be careful overplaying your hand. What you do is. You try to make the best deal possible in the moment. And keep growing and make it that things like that. But you have to be careful over playing your hand.
Well, I I got to tell you, there's bad blood. We see it between Collier and Engelbert all the time, and they're playing it out. And Unrivaled gives them a different level of it looks like a little bit of leverage there, but it but We will watch this, unfortunately, it's interesting you say that. Because I love Nafisa. I was really rooting for her to win MVP this year.
So listen, she has a, and she's one of the owners. of unrivals which we produce uh we own our network If they screw around and go on strike. A bunch of those star players could go to unrivals and they can start their own league.
So that's actually a point I'm making. This notion, because you got to understand one thing about. these negotiations and I've been in these negotiations. The stars aren't the same with the regular players. Let's get that out the way.
Uh the stars are the one who drive the league. But Most of the rank and file Are regular good players. If the WNBA went on strike and all this Asia, Nafisa's already down there, Caitlin, all those girls went to unrival. They can start their own league with their own equity and make three times product of the money they're making now.
Now that would screw All the other players in the WNBA, but you have to understand something. And I like I say I've been in these negotiations. Everybody's not on the same playing field. The stars are up here. Then there's some all-stars like right here But the majority of players in sports are on the bottom rung.
That's not an insult. That's just a fact. Most of the players in all sports Are on the bottom rung, they're not up there with the superstars or the guys who are great players. Most of those guys, and I'm going to use this and it's not a set. Most of those guys are special teams players in all sports.
And that's no disrespect. But to think that we're all on the same level, Plan Phil, when it comes to salaries, endorsements, and things, we are 100% wrong. I hear you. Since you brought up special teams, before I lose you, let's just talk about football for a second. Who do you like out there right now?
Well, I always uh I'm an Eagles fan. We got a big game tonight. Against the Giants. Big game tonight. We haven't played great, but we've been winning.
We beat the Rams on a lucky ass play on a block kick. Then it came back to Bidens last week against the Broncos. We had the big lead, and we only ran the ball seven times. We got. Probably, we got my cousin, which I'm lying.
He's not my cousin. I just claim him because he's great. Uh Spaquan. We only ran the ball seven times. And when you got a two-touchdown lead, I'm pretty damn sure you should be running the ball.
We only ran the ball seven times. Saquon only ran the ball seven times. That's terrible coaching right there. You got a 14-point lead, you just run the ball every time. Time's on your side.
But I'm a big Eagles fan. Obviously, we this are coming off of Super Bowl. We got high expectations. I would really love to see the Buffalo Bills win the Super Bowl because I think those fans deserve it. And I'm a big Josh Allen fan.
Or, I would like to see Jared Goff because I think that guy gets zero respect. Around the um Yeah. Yeah, I I'm I'm a big Lamar Jackson fan, but this season's probably gone. He's out right now. He's probably going to miss this week, and they got to buy next week.
So, this season is probably going for the Ravens. But I would love to see Jared Goff or Josh Allen wins the Super Bowl. Josh is the best, he's probably the best quarterback in the NFL right now, in my opinion. And Jared Goff is probably the least respected great player in the NFL. I mean, what that guy does is just win, win, win.
I don't understand why he don't ever get any respect. Uh, but no, right now, uh, it man, I love football season. Uh, college football is going on right now. This is great. We got Georgia this weekend down at Auburn.
Uh it's a it's a must-win for us probably. Because you know, we started out 3-0 and we're on a two-game losing streak, and Georgia, other than Alabama, is probably our biggest rival.
So, I'm really looking forward to the Georgia-Auburn game. But, man, football season is just great. Susie, I don't do anything on the weekend. I get up first thing in the morning, call my bookie. And get all the lines with Saturday and Sunday.
Then I go to the casino to the sports book and bet. That's all I do. I play golf every day except Saturday and Sunday because I refuse because. There's no way you can stand over a driver and wonder about the point spread on the game and not shank it.
So. I play golf five days a week, but I never play golf on the weekend. Cause I listen, you can't stand over a putt and worry about a point spread. You just got to worry about the break. You got to worry about the break.
You can't be worrying about, well, they're getting three and a half or three. What's your Super Bowl prediction? Really quick, really quick. Eagles? No, Detroit line against the Buffalo Bills.
Let's go. Bills win their first Super Bowl. Shout out to the great Bruce Smith. Thurman Thomas Jim Kelly, Cornelius Bennett. And my man Daryl.
Oh man, what's Daryl's last name? Talley. Daryl Tally. Daryl Talley. I used to love those guys.
And I'll tell you something about those guys. Probably the most underrated great thing that ever happened in sports because they didn't win the Super Bowl. I think those guys, and it's unfortunate, those guys never got the credit and respect they deserve to go to four straight Super Bowls. It's one of the great Achievements in sports history, but because people won't give them their due because they didn't win one of those Super Bowls. But I think those guys go on the fuse going to four straight Super Bowl has never happened, probably will never happen again.
One of the greatest accomplishments in sports history that this goes unclaimed. Charles, you're the best. Thanks for making the time for me. Appreciate it. Can't wait to see you on Inside the NBA on the SPN.
Yes, my goat. You're the best. I cannot wait. Hey, listen, thank you for having me. You know, you're my girl.
Well, tell Rich I say hello when he gets back for spring break.
Okay. I promise I will. And when Rich asks you to come on the show, just say no. I only come on when Susie's there. Wow.
You have a deal. Charles, I love you. Thanks, bud. Thanks, babe. Take care.
See you, Chuck. Lots more retising show when we come back. Yeah, that's exactly how I roll. The Rich Eisen Show Podcast. Right back here on The Rich Eyes and Show, Susie Schuster, in for Rich Eyes.
Didn't hear that, did he? On ESPN Radio, presented by Progressive Insurance. I got to pay the bills, TJ. Don't distract me from what I'm trying to do. My bad.
I got to pay the bills. Oh, hey, Rich. How are you? Speaking of paying the bills in London. There he is.
Hey, hey, Rich. You didn't hear any of that, did you? You weren't. I heard every word. I heard every last word you were saying about do you really want to let me in?
Yeah, yeah. It's the running man logo. That's what I've got. You know, just selling some soap. Am I defensive?
I know you were listening.
So, you know, otherwise I'd be. Yes, you did. I wouldn't have said that. How is Charles? How they He was happy, Charles.
He was fantastic. He's skinny. He gave us his weigh-in. It was like the biggest loser. And he gave us his numbers, and he looks great.
He's as skinny as a guy weighing 285 could be. By the way, I mean, but for Charles, that's really low. Yeah, he looks really good. That's cool. And perfect timing on the announcement today that they're coming back and their schedules out there and It's pretty cool.
It's pretty cool that inside the NBA is coming to ESPN and. And lo and behold, he's happy, which means they're not going to mess with the program like I knew they wouldn't.
So it's pretty cool. I'm very, very much looking forward to seeing them do their thing, just like they always have. It's a perfect program. It's the easiest watch. It's so much fun.
I mean, you know that we watch it at home. And the fact that we can get three kids to watch something at the same time is truly radical in itself.
So. They clearly do a good job that way. Rich, does it upset you that he doesn't come on when... When you're here, though? What do you mean he doesn't?
He's been on when I've been in the chair. It's been a while, but yeah. I might have said. Only come on when I'm sitting here. She may have.
It makes sense. Listen, listen. You knew Charles before I did. You knew Irv before I did. We can go down the list of the people that everyone assumes I knew before you did.
Yeah, DJ Mikey D. You knew him before I did. Just add them all to the list. I do not mind being your plus one in the sidecar, Suze. You know that.
Oh, I'll take it. I'll take it. What do you want to talk about? It's your show, Rich. Should we talk about the Yankees?
Should we talk about the game on Prime? Rich. I'll give you the floor. Wow. No, I don't know.
Let's talk about the Yankees. I don't mind talking about the Yankees. I'm disappointed, once again. that the season is over without another championship to be put in the case. um the longest drought in the history of the franchise just gets extended And I don't know what the answer is other than the fact that I'm.
I'm going to say this, I I I don't know if I've ever said this before. You could check me on this, Chris, since you've been broadcasting with me longer than most. A-Rod was right. Have I ever said that? No, before that.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on a second. Let me write that. I know. I've never heard you say that.
I know. Alex Rodriguez is right when he talks about how the roster is just. Poorly formed. And I know Aaron Boone went went at my guy from back in my ESPN 1.0 days with Buck Martinez saying the Yankees are the type of team that isn't championship quality because if they don't hit home runs, they don't win. They don't put the ball in play.
They can't defend it. Um and their bullpen is leaky. And sure enough, just like I always say, not like I'm the only one to say it, but I always say that the baseball playoffs, maybe more than any other sport, The ball finds the weakness of your team. Always does. always does if there's a right fielder that can't throw if there's a reliever that can't pitch If there's a starter that can't go more than twice through the order, the circumstances will crop up.
And last night, They had issues scoring runs for Cam Schlittler. I don't know if did you guys use the New York headlines? Uh the New York The New York back page headlines. We pulled up one of the other things. I never saw it.
Yeah, the one, my favorite one, I think was the Daily News. Can't hit for Schlit. There it is, right there. That's really funny. Really?
And that says it all right there: that they couldn't hit for the kid. And then, sure enough, when the game was on the line, and it's a one-score game, the ball finds. The ball finds Jazz Chisholm right there at second base. Double play ground ball goes into center field, and then Devin Williams comes into the game. And we all know what was going on with him early parts of the season.
It came home to roost. And so they. They need to get people who put the ball in play. They need to get relievers who are reliably strong. uh with their 100 mile an hour stuff.
And they need to They need to get fielders. And if that means the guy can't hit a home run. Um then so be it. You know, like that's not the way to play baseball anymore, I don't think. You take a look at the way the Guardians are fashioned, the Mariners are fashioned, the way that the Tigers are fashioned.
I know that the Phillies hit a ton of home runs, or Hal Steinbrenner just kicks over, you know, a rock in his front yard and finds more money and doesn't care about turning his team into the Dodgers. And go ahead and break the bank for somebody like Alex Bregman, put him at third, and start and go to work with a guy who can actually field. and a guy can actually put the ball into play.
So, you know, good luck to the Blue Jays. Clearly, you know, they have a complex about the Yankees by trolling on them. And I guess it's what we say all the time. If you don't want to get trolled on, then don't lose.
So I find it funny. You're seeing Big Poppy have his good time with Vlad Guerrero Jr. When I say find it funny, I actually don't find it funny at all. Complex about the Yankees, Michael Kaye started it. What do you mean?
That's what the Blue Jays are trolling on. Michael Kay started it. When the Blue Jays swept the Yankees earlier this year and we're celebrating. Michael Kaye was like, why are you hanging on the rim in the middle of the season? That's what all this is stemming from.
Well, I mean, they were using John Sterling's line and You know, the manager said, start spreading the news, B-word, in his locker room, in his clubhouse. I mean, You don't mess with Sinatra. And even Del Tufo, the new turncoat Yankee Dodger fan, can at least say that. But listen, you can't, if you don't like it, it's the same thing. Remember when Cam Newton used to do his Superman stuff all the time and people would complain about it?
It's just like, if you don't want to see him celebrate, then stop him. Then actually hit for the Wonderkin pitcher and do your thing. When the ball hits your glove, catch it. You know, it's like, don't lollygag the ball around the infield.
So it's disappointing, it's depressing, but good luck to everybody else that's still in the playoffs. I think this might be the Dodgers year again. I really feel it. And I understand they got. A boat raced last night, but I just kind of feel like it's going to be there year again, maybe against Seattle, which was interestingly enough the final three game set for the Mariners this year was the Dodgers being up there.
So we'll see. That's my take on the Yankees. We got time to discuss. All right, let's take a break. Get a drink.
I'm sure there's like some kind of refrigerator in your hotel room. When we come back, we'll talk football. Definitely not. Definitely not. Not a good one.
Uh-oh. Uh-oh. As Alan's saying, it's a two seasons. I don't know. I'm just saying.
I don't want to say that, Susan. I've got a 12-day stay here.
So let's just smile and. You know, I do have some water right here from earlier.
Well, you got that going for you. There's always rooms. All right, when we come back right here on the Rich Eisen Show, we'll talk football. Back to you right after this break. Don't go anywhere.
The Rich Eisen Show, the podcast. Back here on ESPN Radio, presented by Progressive Insurance Susie Schuster in for Rich Eisen. All right, so you were saying I'm going to. You were talking about the mm-hmm. Yeah.
I mean, yeah, I kinda think you you guys can chime in as well that Again, this is a get-right game for the Eagles. They're looking for a get-right game.
So they just lost their first game of the year. They haven't really played, they haven't done a curb stomping just yet. They haven't just like. taken a plaything and You know, eviscerate it, they haven't really done that yet. They've played good football, obviously, being four and one.
And I don't know if the Giants can do what the Broncos did. They can. Pass rush. I don't know if they could defend to the point where AJ Brown won't get his and might get frustrated again. But I think it's just a get-right game.
Give Saquon the ball 25 times and. Go down the turnpike and put your feet up. Like, that's the way it should go tonight. But, you know, Jackson Dart has Moxie. You know, Tyrone Tracy's coming back.
I don't know what that's going to mean for the run game and how they split up carries with Scataboo, but it's possible the Giants can surprise people. This past weekend was off the hook, Suze, as we were, you know, we were all sitting there in our house watching. uh the Cardinals shoot themselves in the foot over and over again. And then we saw the Patriots beat the Bills and we saw so many other results that were kind of surprising.
So because there's nothing that you love more than watching somebody celebrate before they get in the end zone. Oh my God. Certainly, when, well, at the time, I was upset because I thought it was going to cost me my fantasy game for TJ, but it did not. It did not. Ask him about the way he's 0-5-in.
Okay, Brockman and I are champions in that one. We are defending champions. We're not defending. We're not defending very well. We're struggling.
We're struggling. Are you tending that garden, Chris? Or is it just fallow right now? No, we're good. Are we good?
Well, we're on it.
Okay, good. Yeah, we're on it. All right.
Okay, very good. But yeah, that's what I'm looking forward to seeing tonight. Should we get to hire a register? Are we already there yet? Let's do it.
Let's do it. Let's do it. Everybody here in London is saying, when are you going to do it?
So we might as well. Everybody? There's a chance the rich Eisen shows that there could be a crisis. Higher register. Take of the week.
All right, let's start with Chris Brockman after that outstanding piece of video right there. That drop is really hard to listen to. It's a really good drop. You know, it's Kelly and don't do it. I can't wait to hear that.
Wait a minute. First of all, I can't wait to hear Susie's higher register. This is going to be good.
So let's go. Let's go. Let's do it. Is it? All right.
It's going to be. All right.
We saw this team play on Monday night. They stumbled their way into a victory. Trevor Lawrence. And we talk about this team a lot. I like them.
I think they're on the move. Interesting game this weekend against Seattle. But I think when it's all said and done, you know, we might have to take the Jaguars seriously. Oh, wow. Wow.
Higher register on that. I think it was time to take them seriously, you know? No, really? They're 4-1. They're like the Saxonville 2.0.
I know. I mean, they lost to the Bengals, and they beat up an injured 49er team. Uh And we weren't impressed by, I mean, the the the the the Norse god himself falling, stumbling, getting up, scrambling, making it happen. I don't know. Wait a minute.
Are you referring to Trevor Lawrence with me sitting here as a Norse god? It's got nothing to do with his hair. Wow. Nothing. Thor 2.0.
Okay. Okay. Alright, TJ. TJ, your turn.
Alright, where am I at here? Listen. At one point last year, the Chicago Bears did a three-game winning streak, and things were rolling and looking good for them. And they were about, you know, five seconds away from having a four-game winning streak, but a prayer was answered, a Hail Mary, some might say, and it caused them to lose a game against the Washington football team. Not only did they lose that game, but they went on to lose, let's see, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven.
Games in a row after that kind of ended their season. This year, the Chicago Bears, they're on a two-game winning streak, looking good. They had a buy, and now who do they get? They get the Washington football team again.
So I believe that after what happened last year, they let that loss to row this season. Won't happen this year. This year, I think the Bears are gonna get back on track and uh They're going to go on a winning streak after this week. Oh, you you went up? It's not easy for him to do that.
Not easy for him to do that. Oh my god, he's getting his higher registers from his buddy Ashton at the barn.
Okay, here we go. I believe they're gonna go like a four-game winter. You go, honey. You go. I'll I'll go next.
As you know, I'm here in London to call uh a game in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday and the The Broncos had the biggest bandwagon jumpers all summer long, and they validated those bandwagon hoppers with that. Big win over the defending Super Bowl Champs. And now a team that could be 5-0, now 3-2, but giving the Eagles their first loss of the season, taking on an 0-5 team, and not just any 0-5 team in the Jets. The only 0-5 team in the history of the NFL to be such without a single takeaway on defense. For me here.
on NFL Network on Sunday. Calling this game with Kurt Warner. I don't think the Broncos and Jets are going to get us a game. I don't think it's going to be something you should turn into on Sunday. Wow.
There's one more. I did not know this. There's one more. It's my turn. It's my turn.
Let's do it. Listening to you girls talk all the time about Tommy P's hair and stuff is just like it's crazy.
So I I just wanted to tell you, Chris, and tell you which You look pretty good. Wow, God. Mm-hmm. Uh oh. Two weeks ago, oh my gosh.
You just did that. I was gonna go. The Patriots, they're gonna go. The EFC Championship. And I was like, and John Bon Jovi, too.
You had to put him up against that. That's. They were drooling all over John Bon Jovi. That was my job 30 years ago. 40 years ago.
I've been suspecting this higher register for three decades, and you just confirmed it on a live TV, radio, and Samopesta. That's international right now. You're doing better now than you do when I met you. And I still marry you. There you go.
I think you look good.
Now, getting back to that, why'd you make this marriage? You said all you looked at. You're talking. You did pretty good. Yes, Lucy.
Oh my gosh. All right.
Wow. No more.
Now that's enough. Wow. You can go home now. Thank you. Before you can be my latex salesman, why'd you make him wait so long, Suze?
That's the question. I'm sorry. Listen, wow. You make this man run and show you. Who's so good with the baseball show?
Who's the one on the baseball show? Yeah, who? Look before you cross the street. Bye, Rich. The Ridge Eisen Show Podcast.
Mm-hmm.
